Hi all!
I am diagnosed with ADHD, which also impacts my processing of reading, writing and numbers. I have been working as a Carer while studying, but on graduation I have started freelancing as an events planner and marketing consultant.
I applied to access to work to help combat the barriers I've found during the transition, and have my assessment on Friday (eeek!). Feeling a little nervous, but I have a good idea of what I want (largely thanks to previous replies to this thread) and would love if others could share their experiences and advice.
I will be asking for the following items -
Laptop - MacBook Air I know this is a point of contention with ATW, but I think I have a strong case. I currently have a desktop, which has no accessibility software. A MacBook would provide the same accessibility as a number of software often offered by ATW, including dictation, and time management controls across apps. Having a laptop also enables me the flexibility to work in cafes, Coworking spaces, etc which is beneficial for body doubling. The built in dictation would be useful for getting everything down as I struggle to type it all out. Additionally, I could use my current monitor as a second screen while working at home, which would be a massive help instead of having to switch tabs and windows. So I would be either be requesting a laptop, or body doubling membership, dictation software and training, plus a microphone or something, a second monitor and other software.
Wireless mouse - for the laptop, ease of use.
Remarkable - for physical note taking.
IdeaMapper Pro - mind mapping and planning.
Noise Canceling Headphones or Loops Helpful for focus, working in cafes etc
ADHD Coaching Learning how to better manage my ADHD in a professional setting. Coping mechanisms and better work habits, time management etc.
Personal Assistant Assisting with day to day admin tasks which I struggle with… Emails, scheduling, invoicing, etc. Proof reading to ensure no mistakes. Help with filing and managing records, to ensure tax returns are correct.
Transport Occasional taxi transport between clients/work meetings, as journeys with multiple changes make me anxious, especially as I've missed my stop a few times. (No more than £120 p/m)
Curious if anyone has other suggestions, or experience asking for any of these things? Or points I could add to help my case? Especially any of the Mac tools people have specifically found helpful for managing their ADHD. I want to make sure I make the most of this opportunity, as it's going to be a massive help!

I’m going to start posting info in here from Facebook group to help users from the ring, I’ve posted these in the group (Pete Lewis) Put together some info on ring syncing issues and battery issues- what to do it may help anyone with any issues especially new users. Hope it helps.
Been some people ring not syncing with the app or new
First of all report all issues and what tried in feedback
How to remove old ring:- Go to :- ( me- settings- ring settings- ring setting tool - remove connected device )
or me- press on the ring at top - ring setting tool - remove connected device .
The old ring must be removed if being replaced.
If new ring ensure the old ring has been removed from app ————————/————
Ring Not Syncing Things to check first
  1. If using VPN turn it off
  2. Ensure Bluetooth enabled
  3. If Android phone, ensure location services enabled, and allow physical activity ticked In permission. Also on Android phones, you sometimes need to clear cache from RingConn app on phone in settings .
  4. Ensure charger and ring charged up, log out app - restart phone - log back into app.
  5. If that does not work try :- put ring into charger, close case -remove app totally from phone - remove ring from Bluetooth in phone - restart phone - reinstall fresh app - - log back into app -open ring case see if ring asks you connect.
  6. The ring may need resetting , put ring in charging case and gently press on back of ring so it clears the contacts 5-7 times - ring should flash blue when reset - repeat until flashes blue, ring should ask to pair with app.
  7. If above does not work remove app from phone and restart the phone - reinstall fresh new app from App Store ( make sure you know password and email address it’s in old app )

BATTERY ISSUES - Follow this guide
Battery issues what to do :- ensure charger charged up - white light on charger and fully charge the ring prior to any reset. Leave ring in charger extra hour over 100% as engineers may ask you to do that
Ensure charger and ring contacts points clean to ensure good contact.
1 . First of all charge ring to 100%.ensuring good charge in charging case (white light) plus 1 hour
  1. Reset the ring - procedure below
  2. Log battery times and discharge times from 100% -20%
  3. Take photos of battery discharge times in app - so it’s time stamped off phone in app to help engineers 100% date time - <20% date time
  4. Repeat this at least twice.
  5. Send all info in feedback in app
7.if it’s a continuous green light on ring inform feedback all you tried to reset it .

Light will flash blue on ring in case when reset
The reason :- engineers need to see you have tried to resolve the issue (they will ask you to reset ring)
Then submit all info into feedback, including log of at least two or more - ring discharge times and any photos from app - this has to go in feedback to engineers to assess ring - the more info the better - the engineers will then contact customer care and give them their recommendations to replace the ring if applicable.

I guess I just wanted to share some of my story to reinforce how bad drinking can affect your health even at a relatively young age.
November of 2022 I died from my drinking. Long story short I was a successful young professional in the realm of finance and after taking a job that I moved across the country for, things turned bad. The job started with 5 months of studying for multiple series exams, my drinking spiraled out of control. I was drinking at least a liter a day of vodka while studying and because of my pride and age, I completely ignored the signs and danger of being physically addicted to alcohol. I told myself after the exams I would stop drinking.
(This is what I’ve been told happened) Monday morning at 9:30 am 3 days before my final test date, I messaged my manager telling him I think I needed to go to urgent care because I was in a lot of pain, asked my roommate to drive me. We couldn’t find an urgent care so he took me to the ER, which saved my life. I was admitted around 10:15 am and shortly after, I got up to use the bathroom and while walking back to my bed I suffered my first seizure. The seizure caused me to go into respiratory arrest and subsequent cardiac arrest, they started cpr but needed to defibrillate me twice to get a pulse. I was in the only place that gave me a chance, a level 1 trauma care facility.
I was too weak so they induced me into a coma but thought I would come to the next day. However, my physical addiction was so bad I seized 3 times throughout the night and the situation progressed to full organ failure. In all I was in a coma for 8 days, where my family sat around my lifeless body, unsure if I’d make it and if I’d ever walk or talk again if I did. 6 weeks in the icu/hospital/physical therapy I was able to go back to my apartment. The next day I started drinking again.
My parents figured out I was drinking again and basically gave up hope for me. After 5 ish months of on and off drinking I finally broke down and sought help. I’m 280 days sober (don’t know how to set my flair) and have made drastic changes in order to finally give myself a chance at happiness.
You’re never too young to stop drinking.

Does anyone else who had narcissistic parents struggle with this? What do you do? How do you know?
(I should preface this by saying I didn’t have physical abuse…just a very emotionally neglectful environment with selfish parents who pushed perfection and image…one I never met).
1) worry that they are also a narcissist, but 2) not trust their motivations ever when looking inward to assess their toxicity.
I do think of others feelings all the time. I try not to hurt others and I feel EXTREME discomfort if I do. I apologize almost too much. I do things for other people. While I know this sounds like I’m a good person…I don’t know if I do these things for kind reasons. I can’t tell if I do it so people will like me. And of course I hope people like me…but is that narcissistic? I try to be a good coworker (teacher), but I for SURE am a good coworker because I want to be good at my job and i want my coworkers to enjoy working with me. Do I want that because it means I’m “good enough”?
I try to be a good mom. I fear all the time that I’m a bad mom. I have tried to be almost too acknowledging of my children…careful to. Ali date their feelings all the time…and to not yell. I do this because I want them to be good healthy adults. But do I want that because it would validate my existence and prove “I’m not like my parents”? All so I can life with myself and ultimately serve myself??
If I feel good about myself, if I like my reflection sometimes. Am I thinking I’m special? If I feel proud that I’m general a reasonably successful person…is that confidence or narcissism?
If I get mad or feel taken advantage of by someone…and speak my mind, I worry I am asserting my way and being selfish.
Ultimately, is my “narcisisist” type just a type that only cares if they seem like a good person so they can life with themselves…or do. I care about these things?

I had phone WCA assessment just recently and today I got a phone call where I was told it was withdrawn and must be repeated.
Woman on the phone was not responding clearly to my question of what exactly has happened, one moment she says IT error then not enough to make decision etc I told her that I asked assessor twice if they feel they have enough as they only spoke to me less than 20 minutes. They said absolutely yes, that's all they need to know.
I was told I will receive new assessment date via letter.
I'm extremely angry, it has cost me so much effort both physical and mental to do it first time. Stress worsens my condition tremendously
I called them when I cooled down and asked to find out what the reason for withdrawal was and also asked for copy of assessment report. Woman on the phone acted very strange hearing this second request.
Could anyone tell me what's possibly is going on ? Is it common? Can they not give me copy of this report? They're supposed to call me back once they contact assessor who worked from home.. I don't know how long will that take as they said they can only reach them via email

Christie emerged from the bathroom once her nerves had calmed and found one of the chateau’s windows that looked out on the western ridgelines. She reached into her handbag and produced a stick of lipstick, sighted on a curve of blackness intersecting a particular constellation rising into the night sky, and pushed a discreet button on the base. The task force now had confirmation that Rayker was inside the chateau and the machine would be set in motion.
As she turned to head back to the party, Christie saw a different range of mountains in the corner of her eye. A fishhook stabbed into the muscle of her heart and tugged, while she was nearly overwhelmed with nausea. For a moment, a dusty valley surrounded her, the rocky ground coursing with streams of blood. The ghostly white face of Rose Djallen was before her, life fading from her eyes. Christie wanted to gasp, but she let the pain wash over her in silence, as they had all done so often. A moment’s concentration brought her back to the present, and the dangerous operation ahead.
Rayker’s expression had been so devoid of warmth—as though she wore her psychotic nature with pride. Christie couldn’t understand how someone could be so inhuman. She wondered what would happen if Rayker sensed the trap that was closing around her. Christie knew that she, and probably some of the guests, would be taken hostage. No doubt the dozens of Rangers stalking through the darkness would break cover, racing through the night to rescue her, with one particularly hard-headed individual out front. The highly skilled operators now preparing their own move on the chateau would fight their way inside, killing anyone who resisted them. The Banshee, their well-armed gunship, would break its cloak, leaving its position behind Ambrosia’s second moon to rain hellfire down on the small army that provided security for the Helvetic League’s pleasure planet. Rayker would probably die in a hail of gunfire—giving Rose her deserved retribution—for the Valkyrie would eagerly sacrifice their own lives before leaving one of their own behind.
Then the news of the incident would spread, and humanity’s thirty-seven worlds would talk of nothing else but the secret army of super soldiers that protected them from the arsenal of the Jotnar—an ancient and extinct civilization, who’s abandoned weapons and warships littered the stars. Nations, corporations and crime syndicates would find ways to track down those weapons, exploiting their incredible destructive power for their own selfish purposes. There would be war, billions would die, and, like those who had preceded them, humanity would probably wipe itself out.
Rose had died protecting Christie from Rayker’s drone army, but she had also died to uphold Valkyrie’s ancient responsibility.
That operation had ultimately saved the planet Caldera, but in the chaos and confusion of the battle Rayker had managed to slip away. The organization had spent nearly two years trying to hunt her down, but she was too skilled, too deeply enmeshed in the Helvetic League’s underworld.
The council of chiefs, Valkyrie’s inscrutable governing body, had agreed to form Task Force Nemesis under the command of General Smyrna. She was assigned the Mountain Ranger’s Bravo company—the Venomous Vipers—a Raider squadron of elite counter terrorists, and a task unit from Orbital Demolition Team Four. Supported by the Banshee and guided by Christie’s intelligence gathering unit, their mission statement was simple—do whatever it took to kill or capture Allana Rayker.
As they made slow, painstaking process, they began to receive indications that their target had rejoined her old corporate paymasters at VennZech, the most powerful weapons manufacturer in the galaxy. Then, the news broke that Joakkim Meissner, one of Rayker’s suspected allies, had been promoted to Chief Executive, arranging his party on Ambrosia to celebrate.
He had also invited one of the League’s rising stars in physics. The brilliant young doctor Ernst Kolar was a specialist in theoretical energy development. He had recently published a paper describing a theoretical anti-matter reactor alarmingly similar to those that powered the warships and killing machines of the Jotnar. Christie’s team leader, Jiao Zhang, had offered the high-confidence assessment that Rayker would refuse to let such an asset out of her sight. And, on the protected world of Ambrosia, what could she have to fear?
But Valkyrie had been breaking through Helvetic security barriers since the creation of the quasi-imperial state, and had become extremely good at it. And so, the operation had been set in motion.
Christie took a deep breath and prepared herself, soothing away any traces of nervousness. She left the outer hall and re-entered the party.

“Olympus, Olympus, Olympus,” a voice intoned through Kayla’s headset.
The code word signaled that Christie had identified Rayker in the chateau, and the operation was a go. A double burst of static followed; a squad-level transmission from Kes. It was the order to take out the security guards.
Kayla and Ray had crawled as close as they could to their position, readied their stun rifle and waited patiently. As the signal came in, the men had pushed away from their boulder rest spot and were resuming their patrol through the woods. Kayla waited until their line of sight had passed her, before she stood slowly, weapon aimed. A faint rustle told her that Ray had done the same.
The guard at the back, still slurping from a water bottle, fell a little further behind. The stun rifle’s projectile hit him in the neck, shocking his nervous system into an overload state. He seized and dropped to the ground, unconscious. The men ahead of him span and there was a mechanical thump from Ray’s weapon. Her shot struck center mass, and another figure collapsed, just as Kayla pulled the trigger again. The last guard went down quickly, but, to Kayla’s shock, seemed to remain conscious. He struggled on the ground like a dying fish as he tried to reach for his radio, so she sprinted forward and kicked him in the head.
Kayla wrinkled her nose and cursed quietly. The scientist who had trained her squad on the weapon had explained that a failed shot would result in the victim emptying the contents of their bowels and bladder. Looks like she had been right.
“Three down,” she muttered into her helmet mic. “No other contacts in sight.”
Even so, she continued to scan the distant trees carefully.
Ray secured the guards with serum injections while Tian and Yak, the other two members of the fire team joined them. The projectiles were gathered into Tian’s rucksack, and, when the rest of the squad arrived, they moved off through the trees together, climbing the slope until they reached another crest, and a chain link fence.
Half a mile away from the chateau, the main security compound provided a base for the guard’s rapid reaction force. The compound had a single entrance and out of the blockhouse blue light flickered to the loud chatter of an excited racing commentator.
Kayla stopped in the shadows of the trees and waited patiently. The air above her head snapped and cracked as rounds shot past, impacting security cameras and sensors around the compound. The bullets were a large caliber, but with a thermic charge core. Each strike glowed brilliantly as intense temperatures melted through their targets, leaving no evidence of what had neutralized them.
She grinned. Thandi was going to work, and though her presence and skill made Kayla feel much more confident, she would still tease her about doing the ‘easy part’ later.
In the near distance, there were a pair of flashes and loud zaps as the base’s generator and backup went out to EMP charges. Another squad from their platoon was working their own approach. That made Kayla nervous. The two elements would soon have to meet up, and nothing could be more dangerous to those who owned the night than confusing each other for the enemy.
She took her team around the base to the now dark main gate as the on-duty guards emerged to check on the loss of power. Stun rifle shots knocked them out, and the squad regrouped behind the cover of a vehicle bay, while Kayla identified the largest building in the compound and watched it attentively.
They waited patiently until the silence was broken by a new voice on the radio.
“Eyes on the barracks, north side. No movement.”
“South side clear,” Kayla confirmed.
“Approaching,” the other squad leader said.
Kayla waited until she saw shapes emerging from the shadows and sprinting behind the back of the large structure. Then, one leaned out from the corner, watching. Kayla tapped a control on her helmet, and a perfect white line broke through her grey world, pointing towards the figure. She was answered with a similar flash of infra-red energy, and her anxiety eased.
Kes, who had also been watching, tapped her shoulder, and Kayla led off towards the barracks.
From outside the Rangers could make out the annoyed calls of men and women stumbling around in the darkness. One emerged from a side door and nearly got off a shout before Tian tackled him and knocked him out. The two squads moved quickly, cracking open doorways and rolling gas grenades inside.
Invisible and odorless, the gas contained the signature compound Valkyrie used to erase memories. The Rangers waited a few minutes, safe behind their face masks, then entered and confirmed that all inside were unconscious. Kes and Thandi smashed a few liquor bottles against the walls, while others dragged the bodies into the main room, and distributed more ‘evidence’.
Eventually, Kes called ‘all clear’, and Kayla emerged from the building into the night, lifting her faceplate to breathe in some fresh air. She saw her fire team, Ray, Tian and Yak, heading to the vehicles to place EMP charges, and began to follow them, when a sharp rap on her helmet brought her up short.
She turned to see Thandi, vizor up, and an expectant expression on her face.
“Was that a curse word I heard earlier?” Thandi asked, keeping her voice low.
Kayla shook her head. “Negative. I was providing a biological assessment of the dude.”
“Ick. Two in the barracks were uh… in the middle of something when they passed out. I had to pull them apart.” She pulled a face. “That was gross.”
Kayla winked at her friend, who was spiritual enough for the both of them. “Unmarried, I bet. Your god approves.”
Thandi nodded gratefully, then shot her a look. “He’s not just my—"
Kes marched over, her expression severe. “Do either of you have EMP charges left?” she demanded.
“Yes Corporal,” Kayla nodded, and patted her rucksack.
“There’s a couple of transports left in the north corner. Get on it, then rejoin us on the east fence. Come on, we need to move quickly!”
Kayla scampered away, buzzing with energy. The squad still had to head for the chateau, and take up their position in the perimeter that was slowly drawing tighter around Rayker. She glanced at the dark mountains around her. In a dozen locations, radar arrays, missile defenses and communications stations were being similarly neutralized by small teams of Valkyrie from the various units. Soon they would have their prey, and Kayla privately hoped that she wouldn’t surrender.

Christie found Doctor Kolar, alone as usual, in the main hall and painfully out of place at such a large social gathering. He nursed a champagne glass, and smiled at passersby. Christie stared at him until their eyes met, and he quickly looked away, pretending to study one of Meissner’s diamond statues.
She walked in his direction, and as she passed, she flashed him a shy smile. Then, returning to her coterie of admirers, she looked back with another friendly expression.
Kolar cautiously approached the group, obviously unsure of what to do. The men ignored him, but the second he managed to breach the outer mass of bodies, Christie was on him.
“Oh hello! I don’t believe I’ve had the pleasure!” she cried, extending her hand and beaming like a searchlight.
The other men frowned as they lost her attention.
“Um… All mine,” stammered Kolar. “Sorry. I’m—”
“Doctor Kolar, isn’t it?” interrupted a renowned and pompous pianist. “You’re working on space batteries for VennZech weapons research, or some such thing?”
“Well…” Kolar gulped. “We’re starting a new project on micro-singularities at the Planck scale, you see the current theory on weak—”
“It’s weak, you say?” The pianist laughed raucously as he slapped the doctor’s back. “Well, I never would have guessed, old boy.”
“Tell me, Zotty,” Christie cut in, addressing one of the other men, “Didn’t you just tell me this was one of Meissner’s inner circle?” she tottered forward slightly as she spoke.
“Correct,” the elder son and heir apparent of the largest media corporation in the League replied with a smile. He lifted his gaze from her bosom. “Doctor Kolar’s work is vital for the Maestro.”
Kolar smiled gratefully. “Indeed. Well, it’s about energy generation.”
“Oh, I hope you aren’t helping him make more of those dreadful bombs,” Christie said, and pouted. “War is very wrong! Really, I don’t know why they haven’t sanctioned the company for some of the absolutely horrid things they produce.”
The surrounding billionaires nodded their approval, while Kolar flushed. “No… well, I mustn’t talk about it, but I shouldn’t be getting involved in that side of VennZech’s business.”

Rose had died protecting Christie from Rayker’s drone army, but she had also died to uphold Valkyrie’s ancient responsibility.
That operation had ultimately saved the planet Caldera, but in the chaos and confusion of the battle Rayker had managed to slip away. The organization had spent nearly two years trying to hunt her down, but she was too skilled, too deeply enmeshed in the Helvetic League’s underworld.
The council of chiefs, Valkyrie’s inscrutable governing body, had agreed to form Task Force Nemesis under the command of General Smyrna. She was assigned the Mountain Ranger’s Bravo company—the Venomous Vipers—a Raider squadron of elite counter terrorists, and a task unit from Orbital Demolition Team Four. Supported by the Banshee and guided by Christie’s intelligence gathering unit, their mission statement was simple—do whatever it took to kill or capture Allana Rayker.
As they made slow, painstaking process, they began to receive indications that their target had rejoined her old corporate paymasters at VennZech, the most powerful weapons manufacturer in the galaxy. Then, the news broke that Joakkim Meissner, one of Rayker’s suspected allies, had been promoted to Chief Executive, arranging his party on Ambrosia to celebrate.
He had also invited one of the League’s rising stars in physics. The brilliant young doctor Ernst Kolar was a specialist in theoretical energy development. He had recently published a paper describing a theoretical anti-matter reactor alarmingly similar to those that powered the warships and killing machines of the Jotnar. Christie’s team leader, Jiao Zhang, had offered the high-confidence assessment that Rayker would refuse to let such an asset out of her sight. And, on the protected world of Ambrosia, what could she have to fear?
But Valkyrie had been breaking through Helvetic security barriers since the creation of the quasi-imperial state, and had become extremely good at it. And so, the operation had been set in motion.
Christie took a deep breath and prepared herself, soothing away any traces of nervousness. She left the outer hall and re-entered the party.

“Olympus, Olympus, Olympus,” a voice intoned through Kayla’s headset.
The code word signaled that Christie had identified Rayker in the chateau, and the operation was a go. A double burst of static followed; a squad-level transmission from Kes. It was the order to take out the security guards.
Kayla and Ray had crawled as close as they could to their position, readied their stun rifle and waited patiently. As the signal came in, the men had pushed away from their boulder rest spot and were resuming their patrol through the woods. Kayla waited until their line of sight had passed her, before she stood slowly, weapon aimed. A faint rustle told her that Ray had done the same.
The guard at the back, still slurping from a water bottle, fell a little further behind. The stun rifle’s projectile hit him in the neck, shocking his nervous system into an overload state. He seized and dropped to the ground, unconscious. The men ahead of him span and there was a mechanical thump from Ray’s weapon. Her shot struck center mass, and another figure collapsed, just as Kayla pulled the trigger again. The last guard went down quickly, but, to Kayla’s shock, seemed to remain conscious. He struggled on the ground like a dying fish as he tried to reach for his radio, so she sprinted forward and kicked him in the head.
Kayla wrinkled her nose and cursed quietly. The scientist who had trained her squad on the weapon had explained that a failed shot would result in the victim emptying the contents of their bowels and bladder. Looks like she had been right.
“Three down,” she muttered into her helmet mic. “No other contacts in sight.”
Even so, she continued to scan the distant trees carefully.
Ray secured the guards with serum injections while Tian and Yak, the other two members of the fire team joined them. The projectiles were gathered into Tian’s rucksack, and, when the rest of the squad arrived, they moved off through the trees together, climbing the slope until they reached another crest, and a chain link fence.
Half a mile away from the chateau, the main security compound provided a base for the guard’s rapid reaction force. The compound had a single entrance and out of the blockhouse blue light flickered to the loud chatter of an excited racing commentator.
Kayla stopped in the shadows of the trees and waited patiently. The air above her head snapped and cracked as rounds shot past, impacting security cameras and sensors around the compound. The bullets were a large caliber, but with a thermic charge core. Each strike glowed brilliantly as intense temperatures melted through their targets, leaving no evidence of what had neutralized them.
She grinned. Thandi was going to work, and though her presence and skill made Kayla feel much more confident, she would still tease her about doing the ‘easy part’ later.
In the near distance, there were a pair of flashes and loud zaps as the base’s generator and backup went out to EMP charges. Another squad from their platoon was working their own approach. That made Kayla nervous. The two elements would soon have to meet up, and nothing could be more dangerous to those who owned the night than confusing each other for the enemy.
She took her team around the base to the now dark main gate as the on-duty guards emerged to check on the loss of power. Stun rifle shots knocked them out, and the squad regrouped behind the cover of a vehicle bay, while Kayla identified the largest building in the compound and watched it attentively.
They waited patiently until the silence was broken by a new voice on the radio.
“Eyes on the barracks, north side. No movement.”
“South side clear,” Kayla confirmed.
“Approaching,” the other squad leader said.
Kayla waited until she saw shapes emerging from the shadows and sprinting behind the back of the large structure. Then, one leaned out from the corner, watching. Kayla tapped a control on her helmet, and a perfect white line broke through her grey world, pointing towards the figure. She was answered with a similar flash of infra-red energy, and her anxiety eased.
Kes, who had also been watching, tapped her shoulder, and Kayla led off towards the barracks.
From outside the Rangers could make out the annoyed calls of men and women stumbling around in the darkness. One emerged from a side door and nearly got off a shout before Tian tackled him and knocked him out. The two squads moved quickly, cracking open doorways and rolling gas grenades inside.
Invisible and odorless, the gas contained the signature compound Valkyrie used to erase memories. The Rangers waited a few minutes, safe behind their face masks, then entered and confirmed that all inside were unconscious. Kes and Thandi smashed a few liquor bottles against the walls, while others dragged the bodies into the main room, and distributed more ‘evidence’.
Eventually, Kes called ‘all clear’, and Kayla emerged from the building into the night, lifting her faceplate to breathe in some fresh air. She saw her fire team, Ray, Tian and Yak, heading to the vehicles to place EMP charges, and began to follow them, when a sharp rap on her helmet brought her up short.
She turned to see Thandi, vizor up, and an expectant expression on her face.
“Was that a curse word I heard earlier?” Thandi asked, keeping her voice low.
Kayla shook her head. “Negative. I was providing a biological assessment of the dude.”
“Ick. Two in the barracks were uh… in the middle of something when they passed out. I had to pull them apart.” She pulled a face. “That was gross.”
Kayla winked at her friend, who was spiritual enough for the both of them. “Unmarried, I bet. Your god approves.”
Thandi nodded gratefully, then shot her a look. “He’s not just my—"
Kes marched over, her expression severe. “Do either of you have EMP charges left?” she demanded.
“Yes Corporal,” Kayla nodded, and patted her rucksack.
“There’s a couple of transports left in the north corner. Get on it, then rejoin us on the east fence. Come on, we need to move quickly!”
Kayla scampered away, buzzing with energy. The squad still had to head for the chateau, and take up their position in the perimeter that was slowly drawing tighter around Rayker. She glanced at the dark mountains around her. In a dozen locations, radar arrays, missile defenses and communications stations were being similarly neutralized by small teams of Valkyrie from the various units. Soon they would have their prey, and Kayla privately hoped that she wouldn’t surrender.

Christie found Doctor Kolar, alone as usual, in the main hall and painfully out of place at such a large social gathering. He nursed a champagne glass, and smiled at passersby. Christie stared at him until their eyes met, and he quickly looked away, pretending to study one of Meissner’s diamond statues.
She walked in his direction, and as she passed, she flashed him a shy smile. Then, returning to her coterie of admirers, she looked back with another friendly expression.
Kolar cautiously approached the group, obviously unsure of what to do. The men ignored him, but the second he managed to breach the outer mass of bodies, Christie was on him.
“Oh hello! I don’t believe I’ve had the pleasure!” she cried, extending her hand and beaming like a searchlight.
The other men frowned as they lost her attention.
“Um… All mine,” stammered Kolar. “Sorry. I’m—”
“Doctor Kolar, isn’t it?” interrupted a renowned and pompous pianist. “You’re working on space batteries for VennZech weapons research, or some such thing?”
“Well…” Kolar gulped. “We’re starting a new project on micro-singularities at the Planck scale, you see the current theory on weak—”
“It’s weak, you say?” The pianist laughed raucously as he slapped the doctor’s back. “Well, I never would have guessed, old boy.”
“Tell me, Zotty,” Christie cut in, addressing one of the other men, “Didn’t you just tell me this was one of Meissner’s inner circle?” she tottered forward slightly as she spoke.
“Correct,” the elder son and heir apparent of the largest media corporation in the League replied with a smile. He lifted his gaze from her bosom. “Doctor Kolar’s work is vital for the Maestro.”
Kolar smiled gratefully. “Indeed. Well, it’s about energy generation.”
“Oh, I hope you aren’t helping him make more of those dreadful bombs,” Christie said, and pouted. “War is very wrong! Really, I don’t know why they haven’t sanctioned the company for some of the absolutely horrid things they produce.”
The surrounding billionaires nodded their approval, while Kolar flushed. “No… well, I mustn’t talk about it, but I shouldn’t be getting involved in that side of VennZech’s business.”

I’m in my 50s, in good shape mainly bc of one year of BP. 5’10”, 160lbs. Not particularly athletic but fairly agile and plays around 4.0 level (self assessment based on playing folks with known dupr for whatever that’s worth).
I have done ATPs quite often. I guess that means I can react and execute some shots that require some level of body and ball handling. But I have never encountered an opportunity that screams to me that I should jump in for an Erne. I do feel jumping out is a bit of a physical challenge.
Am I missing the right setup or signal? How to actually practice this on my own in terms of the proper way to hop or jump, to get the basics down?

So as the title says I got fired from Nike after working there for 4 months and their reasons were rubbish.
I started working there beginning of April 2023 and they terminated my contract beginning of August 2023.
Nike has KPIs such has how many shoes we sold to customers also how many people we could get them to sign up as members to Nike.com and extra bonus getting people to download the Nike app.
During my time there the hardest thing to do was to convince people to download the Nike app you were suppose to get at least 3 people per day to download it and I was getting between 5-6 per day. I was also getting many people to sign up to Nike as member (a legit way many employees were doing it behind customers backs to get their numbers up) Anyways I was one of the highest performing on my floor from the newbies group. I also entered a design competition for football boots which I had only three days to work on I won third place world wide second place in the UK.
When I started my job I told them from the beginning that I have a few medical conditions that would cause me to take a break or needing to sit down from time to time. I have chronic back pains and I suffer from PCOS which causes me to have MAJOR pains so I can’t stand for too long. Bare in mind these traits are protected under the equality act 2010
If they’re willing to adapt to my needs I don’t need to take sick leave unless it’s quite bad. They accepted this and gave me a contract.
I then fell pregnant unexpectedly beginning of June which lead for me taking sick leave throughout my time. As I was really physically poor

Their stores are over heating there is no air conditioning, no windows, they have really strong lights that could literally cause an epileptic stroke they force you to stand in front of the lights if you move you get a warning. The health and safety hazards at that place were crazy I could go on forever.
I kept complaining that the working conditions were horrible summer is here and we were suffering a lot. The overheating caused frequent heat exhaustion. They were not accommodating to my needs and were not being nice about my pregnancy they did not perform a health and safety assessment nor did they advise me what I needed to do next.
Instead came August for my final review they fired me based on performance when it was utter bullshit I did the best on my floor! They didn’t like I have a strong leading personality and I was very vocal about the issues the store had. I believe they fired me because I was pregnant knowing that I would have to go maternity leave under their care. I did try to overturn their decision but they said they made the right decision.
What do you guys think? What can I do ? I wanted to go to the tribunal but because I was so ill for a while by the time I spoke to ACAS but they said it was too late. I honestly think I could of won this at the tribunal

Abstract
Background
Deceased donor liver transplantation (DDLT) is a transplant modality performed routinely in adults at Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre (WDGMC). Infection, graft dysfunction, surgical and medical complications are common in the early post-transplant period, accounting for early15 morbidity and mortality.
Objectives
To provide a descriptive analysis of all complications in the first 30 days post DDLT.
To investigate associations between recipient demographic data, comorbid diabetes, MELD score, and subsequent complications.
Methods
A retrospective review of adult DDLT recipients for the first 30 days post-transplant was performed at WDGMC from January 2015 - December 2016. Fischer's exact test was used to assess relationships between demographic data and infectious complications, while an independent sample t-test was used for non-infectious complications.
Results
Seventy-eight DDLTs were performed, with 6 (8%) mortalities in the first 30 days. The median age was 54 years; 54% were male. In total, 24 recipients (31%) developed infectious complications. Sixteen patients (67% of the infectious cohort) had intra-abdominal sepsis, 6 (25%) developed lower respiratory tract infections, 6 (25%) skin and soft tissue infections, and 3 (13%) urinary tract infections. Of all infectious complications, seven patients (29%) developed bacteremia. Non-infectious complications were developed in 55 patients (71%); renal complications were more common (67%). There was no significant association between age, gender, ascites, diabetes mellitus, MELD score, and complications.
Conclusion
Non-infectious complications were more prominent than infectious complications in adult recipients in the first 30 days post-DDLT. There was no significant association between recipient demographic data, comorbid diabetes, CMV status, and MELD score.
