Western cowboy survival role-playing game Helio Games created and published Westland Survival. Excellent! If you like westerns, cowboys, horses, and shooting things, this is the game for you.

DRAMATIC PLOT IN A WESTERN SETTING

The West is a haven for criminals, bounty hunters, smugglers, and murderers. How can these crooks receive such a free pass? These perpetrators know that Western justice is created in the underworld through real tycoons. Unfortunately, even policemen with their law enforcement jobs can be bribed easily with dollars.

There are no good or bad people, only weak and powerful individuals. Learning to protect and fight is essential if you want to make it in the West. In this game, you take on the role of a merchant. Unfortunately, when traveling through this dangerous land, your carriage encounters a band of robbers, and you are the only survivor of this horrible event. Your main motivation right now is a desire for retribution. Find the perpetrators and hang them on gallows, or shoot them.

CLIMB THE SURVIVAL RUNGS.

The bandits have taken everything you own, from property to friends and even self-defense weapons,ā€¦ With only your bare hands, youā€™re alone in the desert, a strange and frightening place. Food and water are in short supply at this time. Because the final few usable items are in critically short supply, you must start accumulating them immediately. This will be when you can use the great survival skills you have accumulated in the previous period. Make a set of robust mining, hunting, and crafting tools out of stone and wood.
One of the most dangerous times of the day is when night falls. This will be when the bandits start their work, or even the beasts will carry out the hunt. You must own a house to hide in this dangerous area at night. Resources, including wood and stone that you can collect, will be able to help you build your own house to hide.

COMMERCE WITH INDIGENOUS PEOPLES

With your business and business acumen and skills, this will be the time when you can look for better amenities. Through the unnecessary items, you will completely be able to think about using them to exchange with the locals. Equivalent items can be obtained, or you can even sell your items for a suitable amount.

KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR ANY POTENTIAL THREATS.

You must be physically and emotionally prepared to meet any threats you may face and any health difficulties. Criminals, bounty hunters, and wild animals are just a few possible attackers. The items you own will also be the purpose for other players to target in their plan to attack, loot and even destroy you. The most effective way to protect oneself is to arm oneself with lethal weapons and perfect oneā€™s combat skills. The more levels you gain, your health and strength will improve.

A STANDARD WESTERN WAY OF LIFE

If youā€™ve ever longed to live the life of a true cowboy, Westland Survival is the game for you. You can ride around the map when you have time, herding sheep. You can earn extra money by participating in high-stakes gunfights among cowboys. Many enjoyable activities are typical of Westerns and cowboy films.

2024.05.16 07:58 danielricardo1 Places close to Bangkok for relaxing and work (please read the post for more details)

TLDR: (Detailed below šŸ‘‡)
Planning a trip from India to Thailand and Cambodia in August 2024, focusing on local food and reliable internet for remote work.
Looking for budget-friendly, peaceful locations. Seeking suggestions for alternative destinations near Bangkok to cut flight costs.
Detailed below:
Hi everyone,
I'm planning a trip in August 2024 from India to Thailand and Cambodia. I have a remote job and will be working while traveling. I don't party and drink, so I'm only looking for places with good local food and reliable internet for email, Slack calls, and social media (Digital marketing, so I don't need insanely fast internet like someone in Tech may need).
Here is my planned itinerary: (Travelling Solo, 37 Yo, Male)
  • Land in Bangkok: August 10 - leave on 14th Aug
  • Bangkok to Chiang Mai - Flight: Here till 17th Aug
  • Chiang Mai to Siem Reap: Here till 20th Aug (C. Mai to BKK to SR Flight)
  • Siem Reap to Phnom Penh: Here till Aug 25
  • Phnom Penh to Home: August 26
(Note - All my flights will be ideally landing at the location b/w 6 am to 11 noon - I will book in that way)
I'm concerned about the costs of flights, so if anyone can suggest some great locations close to Bangkok that fit what I'm looking for, I'd be grateful. (I am looking for options to drop Chiang Mai - I don't mind Beach or Mountains - I am looking for a peaceful getaway with good food and internet)
Key Points to remember:
  • Internet: Need decent internet for email, Slack calls, and social media.
  • Travel Style: Enjoy local food, not interested in partying. Can't afford 5-star chains - I'm on a budget but that doesn't mean I will stay in a completely frugal $5 a night place.
  • Off Season: I know this is not the best time, I'm going during the off-season for budget reasons. I don't mind the rain and prefer it over the summer heat.
Concerns:
Costs of Flights: It's becoming expensive so alternative locations near Bangkok that offer a similar experience, please share.
This trip is really important to me as I had to cancel similar plans in 2016 and 2019 due to financial reasons. I'm determined to make it happen this time.
Thank you for any advice and suggestions!
Ps - Angkor Wat: I want to invite my parents (70+ years old) to join me in Cambodia. Is it feasible for elderly visitors? I think there is a lot of walking and climbing involved, if there is they won't come, because if you don't see AW then what did you see in Cambodia.
Sorry for mixing two countries in one post, and thanks in advance for your help!

2024.05.16 07:52 gunzguy No Sleep, No Fulfillment, No Validation

-- I just kinda wrote down how i'm feeling at the moment. I made it in the style of a story. But it's the best way i can get it out. Sorry it is long. Just read it. That's all I ask. --
I donā€™t know what Iā€™m doing. For the better part of 10 years, my entire adult life, Iā€™ve never known what it is that Iā€™m trying to accomplish. Am I doing the right thing by dedicating all my time to my work? What do I consider my work? Is it my actual job that pays me biweekly? Or is it my job as a father... or maybe itā€™s my major at university? Whatever it is, itā€™s never enough. Life is supposed to be fulfilling and right now, I canā€™t tell the difference between fulfilling and life-sucking. Distractions scratch an itch but have never satisfied my hunger.
Enough complaining, let me tell you what I do on a daily basis. My day starts at 6 AM. Why? Because Iā€™m a slave to the corporate machine. But thatā€™s a story for another day. Work ends around 4 PM if things go the way they should, and often they donā€™t. My commute home usually takes 30 to 45 minutes due to the ignorant shipyard traffic that consumes every road, freeway, and dirt road. Hundreds of moron drivers that create a ghost of a traffic jam. Itā€™s now 5 PM. Iā€™m free. Respite from retail hell. From the public. Iā€™m alone. At least for now. Whatā€™s next? Dinner, dishes, workout, or relax? God knows relaxing isnā€™t a real option. Working out? No thanks, Iā€™ve been on my feet for 10 hours. Dinner will get me yelled at by my family if I pick the wrong thing to eat, weā€™ll get to that later, so dishes it is! 6:30 PM. They arrive. My wife, my son, and the attitude that comes along with it. What did I do this time? Why is everyone raising their voice at me? Why do I get attitude, huffing and puffing, and whining when I ask for any kind of help? Oh, you worked for 3 hours today and your back hurts. Iā€™m sorry. The kid has been a pain since you got home? Iā€™m sorry. You donā€™t feel good? Iā€™m sorry. Have you noticed my problem yet? Obviously, I havenā€™t made dinner yet. Good job thinking about otherā€™s feelings. Worked out great.
Back in 2019, I was let go from my job. COVID was great, right? Unemployment was paying more than I made working my full-time job. Iā€™m not going to pretend to be a good little boy and not abuse it. I did. I milked the fuck out of it. I took a leap and applied for college. My dream has always been to make video games. My life has revolved around them since I was in diapers. I signed up for a 4-year degree in game programming. Little did I know that this was just a misguided investment in my own validation.
It is now 9:00 PM, and aside from the wife and the kid asking me to come to the room every 15 minutes, I have time. Not much, but I have some. Enough. I hopeā€¦ What is left that I need to do? I need to do homework. Yay. The time is now 2:00 AM. I should probably go to bedā€¦ but Iā€™ve had absolutely zero me time. A couple YouTube videos wouldnā€™t hurt right? Whatā€™s the difference between 4 hours of sleep and 3 hours of sleep? Not much honestly. Some time between 2 AM and 4 AM I go to bed. Every night is different, donā€™t judge me.
The cycle continues. 2-4 hours of sleep, work, cleaning, yelled at, dinner, homework, repeat. For the record, that is not all I do. There are some smaller amounts of time where I spend time with my son, or I have a few minutes free to play games, or spend time with my wife. Even when Iā€™m being judged or yelled at, Iā€™m expected to stay calm and levelheaded. Itā€™s my job. Iā€™m a man, welcome. Iā€™ve also searched for more fulfilling hobbies and thatā€™s what comes next.
From 2015 to 2017 I was streaming on twitch. I loved every minute of it. I was growing and making real money. Then THE big event happened. My wife, my girlfriend at the time with our newborn child, and I were supposed to be moving out that weekend. I took off early from work that day to get started. I walk in the apartment. Empty. Aside from a bed in the corner of the room, a dresser, my computer, and my poor dog Bella inside a cage. I let the dog out, walked around to see what else I needed to move. I called my girlfriend, excited that she had gotten a head start on our move. If youā€™ve figured it out already, yes, she did. If you havenā€™t, she was leaving me and taking our child. This was the start of my downfall.
A lot happened between then and now. But it worked out. We got married. Almost divorced. A lot of toxicity between us. But I loved her. And I loved my son. They were, and still are, my everything. So, I stuck it out.
Enough babbling. Iā€™m currently learning two languages to further my own personal education. Spanish and Japanese. Spanish because itā€™s difficult to get by in life without it, and Japanese because I am obsessed with Japan and Japanese culture, and I hope to travel to Japan someday. So, on top of everything, Iā€™m also doing that. It takes a lot out of me.
Is that it, OP? Youā€™re overfilling your plateā€¦ Youā€™re going too fast, doing too much, and not living a healthy lifestyle. No. Itā€™s not it. Here comes YouTube. No, not the videos I watch. I also make videos. The 30ish minutes I have available to play games? Yeah, I multitask and use my game time to record a video. Shameless mid story plug? You be the judge.
Some nights are spent mashing watching videos, doing homework, or relaxing with editing the videos. No one wants just a recording of some idiot playing video games. It needs quality, it needs cuts, it needs love, it needs hoursā€¦
Is it alot to some people? Yeah, and some others might say that itā€™s light work. Itā€™s not good to have such little sleep. On top of the sleep apnea I already have, which makes my 2-4 hours of sleep the equivalent of 1-2 hours of sleep.
Iā€™ve realized that Iā€™m stuck. Iā€™ve done way too much to give up, and Iā€™ve done way too much to keep going. Iā€™m financially ruined, physically destroyed, and metaphorically molested. All because I wanted something. Validation.
Take it from me. Itā€™s not worth it. Live your life. Know your limits. Donā€™t seek validation.

2024.05.16 07:38 Mountain_Counter929 Making Aliens based off every pokemon type combination (Fighting)

Fighting/Normal: OHKO (One Punch Man but instead of one effortless punch itā€™s a touch of death combo he has to )
Species: Mugen
Planet: Sonof
Appearance
Powers and Abilities
Weaknesses/Drawback
Species/Planet Fact: The Mugen started as semi-organic creations by a long dead civilization who sought to try experiments designing different types of warriors. Eventually the planet will be inhabited by foreign researchers. These researchers have been working on enhancing them with various effects to increase their capabilities, and give them more movement and combat options. But during testing it was discovered that watching the Mugen fight with or without enhancements is incredibly entertaining resulting and a strong source of combat study. This discovery redirected their experiments being used for sports instead of warfare even preventing what wouldā€™ve been an interplanetary war by turning it into a competitive sport, exploding the planet in popularity. During this explosion there was the discovery of a single fight between two Mugen that have went on for centuries before the first immigration and has been fiercely protected from interruptions since its discovery.
Fighting/Grass: Doungwun Nemetrix predator of the Chunwin (See Kung book in Grass Types)
Appearance
Hunting Method
Planet/Species Fact: Despite the Doungwun seemingly biologically engineered to beat Cunwin on one to one combat, countering their various techniques. They rather take less ā€˜honorableā€™ tactics whenever possible. In populated areas theyā€™d quickly overwhelm their prey with high numbers and quickly attack before the Chunwin gets a chance to swing. If there are arenā€™t any others nearby itā€™ll try to ambush its prey from hard to reach angles in the air. Only when itā€™s alone and has caught the attention of its prey, will it attach itself and engage its prey in close range combat. Most Chunwin societies simply use traps, or other tools to protect themselves from these predators. But a predator that chooses to engage in a one on one duel is more respected and results in a more respected death (for either one). So some Chunwin warriors leave themselves open to solo Doungwun attacks as some form of test.
Fighting/Fire: Racaln the Nemetrix predator of the Clabestro (See Firing Squad in Fire types)
Appearance
Hunting Method
Planet/Species Fact: Racaln only prey on the Clabestro when theyā€™re split up and small. They donā€™t do any harm when theyā€™re merged on one bigger body. But since most Clabestro combat (which happens very often) has them in their small split up forms. This makes it common for Racalns to be collected from the wild or bred in captivity to be utilized as excellent traps, and denying area. This practice would also be used as a mark to safeguard places from violence, to prevent Clabestro from splitting to engage in combat. This practice has spread to official gatherings like courts and diplomatic meetings.
Fighting/Water: Ultimate Slush (See Original in Water Types)
Appearance
Powers/Ability
Weaknesses/Drawbacks:
Fighting/Elctric: Ultimate Fightning Rod (See Web Work in Electric Types)
Appearance
Powers/Ability
Weaknesses/Drawbacks:
Fighting/Flying: Ultimate Fight and Flight (See original in Flying Types)
Appearance
Powers/Ability
Weaknesses/Drawbacks:
Fighting/Ice: Giengar Nemetrix predator of the Ashe (See Burrzerker in Ice Types)
Appearance
Hunting Method
Planet/Species Fact: Giengar are omnivores. In cold seasons they eat large predators with their primarily skill of inducing hallucinations that tire out its target before having its body frozen over for it to consume with its teeth designed to crush frozen objects. They gain this power by consuming mushrooms from warmer, jungle biomes that contain spores which has a similar effect to targets that breathe them in (though less concentrated and ends with less fatalities). Giengars are immune to these spores so during the warmer seasons they migrate to the jungle to consume high amounts of these mushrooms to expel their spores in large concentrations during hunting season. Normal Ashe that occupy these jungles stay away from the dangerous arctic biomes the Giengars hunt in, so to them the Giengar are seen as harmless. Since even if the Giengars try to use the spores against them, the conditions arenā€™t lethal and the lack of the Asheā€™s adrenaline wonā€™t inhibit their ability to recognize their condition and react accordingly instead of wasting their energy fighting.
Fighting/Ground: Ultimate Mudripper (See Original in Ground Types)
Appearance
Powers/Ability
Weaknesses/Drawbacks:
Fighting/Rock: Ovivine Nemetrix predator of the Sabter (See Mountain Goat in Fighting Types)
Appearance
Hunting Method
Planet/Species Fact: While Ovivine can talk and mimic sentient emotions its only purpose is to gain the trust of prey as a mere predatory mechanism, their brains arenā€™t capable of deeper introspective thought or sentience when alone. Sabter are worn of the Ovivine though largely they are seen as myth with how very few sightings they are and how little the Ovivine are actually active due to their slow metabolism. Ovivines cover their prey on the floor and slowly consume it whilst morphing its body to appear as a mere lump of ground covered in grass, which is another factor into how little theyā€™re seen. Occasionally they encounter some Sabter who are very much aware of them, and their tricks so in those cases they simply push them off the cliff side. Though this method relies on the element of surprise since their physical strength is much weaker than the average Sayter.
Fighting/Bug: Ultimate Float Stinger (See Original in Bug Types)
Appearance
Powers/Ability
Weaknesses/Drawbacks:
Fighting/Psychic: Muscle Memory (Alien Taskmaster)
Species: Reffox
Planet: Arbeitar
Appearance
Powers and Abilities
Weaknesses
Planet/Species Fact: Due to the fact that all Reffox are all physically the same and that any unique skill that are developed is quickly assimilated by one another. Reffox populations share a yearning for a sense of identity. So many Reffox head off to other cultures/planets to use their learned skills to be able to make an identity of themselves, whether it be an athlete a performer, a warrior, a hero, or in some cases a criminal or ruler. This feeling is felt through all Reffox and when two of them meet, they silently agree to not show their skills to each other to keep their identity. Though if they do want to share they return to Arbeitar to tell their stories or inspire new skills for the next generation who would tell their story.
Fighting/Poison: Biolence (Fist of the North Star Powered by drugs, and can weaponize their own explosions )
Species: Gomane Planet: Omawoshindyu
Appearance
Powers and Abilities
Weaknesses
Planet/Species Fact: Eons ago a large vapor of toxic alien pollutants was mysterious dropped on Omawoshindyu mutating all inhabitants and killing off massive amounts of life, however life stiff have adapted and eventually evolved resulting in the modern Gomanes. By the time their own society has formed, the pollutants have been absorbed into the earth or dissipated from the atmosphere allowing fertile greener life to grow. Ironically most of Gomane society promotes healthy activity like proper diet in exercise, for it allows them to control their cyst development more effectively even when there sped up, which they use in hunting and combat sports. However crime activity is still noticeable involving addiction, violence, and gang activity. Mostly originating in highly polluted/deserted wastelands. As various poisons are being produced and mines
Fighting/Ghost: Body-structor (Havik from MK1 with hints of Water Law from One Piece)
Species: Rankensain
Planet: Taxodoom
Appearance
Powers and Abilities
Weaknesses:
Planet/Species Fact: Body parts are the Rankensains main currency. While most body parts are gathered from hunted animals on their world. Rankenstains have developed interplanetary transportation to gather valuable alien body parts. Often by nefarious methods like warfare, grave robbing, or even homicide, making them a disdained and feared species across multiple planets. There are labs made to create clones of existing limbs to replace active hunting to remove the need for travel, but with how often exploration is used and how slow the cloning process is, Rankensains still commonly hunt aliens for their limbs as part of a darker slightly underground culture. To get around their negative reputation, Rankensains would remove their own brains and implant them into other bodies to disguise themselves.
Fighting/Dragon: Medisnake (Combat Snake with Street Fighter Chi abilities)
Species: Ansatryu
Planet: Chakrenin
Appearance:
Powers/Abilities:
Weaknesses
Planet/Species Fact: Initially Ansartyu were seen as pets of another more human-like species called the Shotogun and as intelligent as their owners. However, eventually the Shotogun would discover their ability to tap into their own personal well of the same chi-like energy and start practicing it for various means. However back then only a handful of masters would be able use it, and only at a very basic level. Until one Shotogun prince discovered that his treasured Ansatryu was able to tap into and unlock further levels of mastery. With this knowledge the prince learned from his Ansatryu and developed a closer bond with it, even teaching his pet higher levels of intelligence as he was taught further mastery of chi. Later he would teach others how to learn from their Ansatryu and his own Ansatryu will give intelligence to others of his species, leading to the point where Ansatryu are now partners living in the same world as the Shotogun in relative harmony.
Fighting/Steel: Weapon Blaster (Tank Knight with hand guns that shoots bladed weapons) Species: Arthmo
Planet: Palawar
Appearance
Powers and Abilities
Weaknesse
Species/Planet Fact: Arthmo is an artificial species created from a combination of alchemy and engineering by a master at both, commissioned by a great king. They were meant to be used as weapons of warfare and even companions. However an enemy army raided the kingdom, and killed both the lord and creator after the first Arthmo woke up. So the lab was well hidden so the Arthmo followed the instructions of its creator and created more of it, and slaying the enemy army. Now they defend the remaining members of their kingdom to allow it to rebuild. However, rumor has it that a surviving enemy found the original Arthmo lab.
Fighting/Dark: Spotshot
Species: Dalmate
Planet: Cerberence
Appearance
Powers/Abilities:
Weaknesses/Drawbacks
Species/Planet Fact: The spotted biological materials that generate the Dalmateā€™s projectile ā€œspotsā€, is a shared trait amongst a handful of different Cereberence animal species and even some plant life. Those species has a spot of a different color that was meant harm all other species/subspecie for predation or predator avoidance. Other species that donā€™t have this projectile ability do have spotted patterns on them to warn predators, or even create similar marks on objects to protect territory by intimidation. To weaponize their own ā€œspotsā€ Dalmate tribes would farm different animals and use them in different methods that changes their spot markings to battle other tribes with their own spot slinging skills to prevent it from being simply absorbed into its targets body.
Fighting/Fairy: Best-O Change-O (Magical Girl/Boy Recruiting Bunny)
Species: Usegin
Planet: Lunakessho
Appearance
Powers/Abilities
Weaknesses
Planet/Species Fact: Lunakessho is a magical planet where all the inhabitants would practice magic, protected by an order of Usegin knights. However dark forces used by villains and monsters would arise practicing this dark magic and almost threatened to corrupt the universe. The Usegin order managed to fight them off but with a threat on that kind of scale and some remaining presence of their enemies they decided to seal of the planet into another realm. However, now there is an occult group mages summoned the order on various points of different moons using a ritual that was meant to be used in case theyā€™re needed. While the Usegin heroes did manage to get involved in their traditional hero work. Theyā€™ve learned too late that this ritual will eventually corrupt them once all the full rituals is complete, and theyā€™re powerless to stop them. So they now go to various planets and recruit and train other magical warriors to stop them when the time comes.

2024.05.16 07:29 FearlessLeather475 Philips Sonicare 4100 vs Philips Sonicare 2100 :Which electric toothbrush is better ?

When it comes to oral hygiene, Philips Sonicare is a brand that is trusted by millions of people around the world. With a range of electric toothbrushes to choose from, two popular models that often get compared are the Philips Sonicare 4100 and the Philips Sonicare 2100. Both of these toothbrushes offer advanced technology and features to help improve your overall oral health, but there are some key differences between the two that may make one a better choice for you than the other.
The Philips Sonicare 4100 is a top-of-the-line electric toothbrush that is designed to provide superior cleaning and plaque removal. It features a pressure sensor that alerts you when you are brushing too hard, as well as a smart timer that ensures you brush for the recommended two minutes. The 4100 also has three different cleaning modes Ā– clean, white, and gum care Ā– to cater to your specific oral health needs. Additionally, this toothbrush comes with a travel case and a brush head replacement reminder, making it easy to keep your toothbrush in top condition.
On the other hand, the Philips Sonicare 2100 is a more budget-friendly option that still offers excellent cleaning performance. It features a built-in timer that helps you brush for the recommended two minutes, as well as a quadpacer that alerts you to switch quadrants of your mouth every 30 seconds. The 2100 also has a slim, ergonomic handle that is comfortable to hold and easy to maneuver while brushing. While it may not have as many advanced features as the 4100, the 2100 is still a solid choice for those looking for a reliable electric toothbrush.
One of the biggest differences between the Philips Sonicare 4100 and the Philips Sonicare 2100 is the cleaning modes that they offer. The 4100 has three different cleaning modes Ā– clean, white, and gum care Ā– that allow you to customize your brushing experience based on your specific oral health needs. The clean mode is ideal for everyday cleaning, while the white mode is designed to remove surface stains and brighten your smile. The gum care mode is gentle on your gums and helps to improve overall gum health. On the other hand, the 2100 only has one cleaning mode, which may be limiting for some users who prefer more options.
Another key difference between the two toothbrushes is the design and build quality. The Philips Sonicare 4100 has a sleek, modern design with a high-quality build that feels sturdy and durable in your hand. It also comes with a travel case, making it easy to take with you on the go. In comparison, the Philips Sonicare 2100 has a more basic design with a plastic handle that may not feel as premium as the 4100. While the build quality of the 2100 is still good, it may not be as long-lasting as the 4100.
In terms of performance, both the Philips Sonicare 4100 and the Philips Sonicare 2100 offer excellent cleaning power that removes up to 7x more plaque than a manual toothbrush. They both have sonic technology that drives fluid between your teeth and along the gumline for a thorough clean. Additionally, both toothbrushes come with a brush head replacement reminder that lets you know when it is time to replace your brush head, ensuring that you always have optimal cleaning performance.
When it comes to battery life, the Philips Sonicare 4100 and the Philips Sonicare 2100 both offer impressive performance. The 4100 has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that lasts up to two weeks on a single charge, while the 2100 has a rechargeable nickel-metal hydride battery that also lasts up to two weeks. Both toothbrushes come with a charging base that makes it easy to keep your toothbrush powered up and ready to use. However, the 4100 does have a battery indicator light that lets you know when it is time to recharge, which is a feature that the 2100 lacks.
Overall, the Philips Sonicare 4100 and the Philips Sonicare 2100 are both excellent electric toothbrushes that offer advanced cleaning performance and features to help improve your oral health. The 4100 is a top-of-the-line model with three cleaning modes, a pressure sensor, and a travel case, making it a great choice for those looking for a premium toothbrush. On the other hand, the 2100 is a more budget-friendly option that still offers excellent cleaning power and performance. Ultimately, the best toothbrush for you will depend on your specific oral health needs and preferences. If you are looking for a toothbrush with more advanced features and customizable cleaning modes, the Philips Sonicare 4100 may be the better choice for you. However, if you are looking for a reliable toothbrush that offers solid cleaning performance at a more affordable price, the Philips Sonicare 2100 is a great option to consider.

2024.05.16 07:29 RevolutionOk8603 AITAH for being upset with my friend for splitting all bills after we are back from a trip even though she said she will cover me.

Hey Everyone, I recently went on a trip with my friend. For some background, I am a broke college student who has a friend Shelly. Shelly recently found out her fiance is cheating on her and was really in bad condition mentally since months. Ive always been there for her through text and call but I live 600 miles away because of my college.
She was really depressed and asked me if I could go on a trip with her because her fiance left her to go on a boys trip. I told her I canā€™t afford traveling and I am really broke but I offer I will fly down to her house and stay with her because It will save me hotel and food money. She said she doesnā€™t want to stay at home and like to travel someplace she has never been, she suggested New York or Hawai. I told her I cannot afford but she insisted and said ā€œDonā€™t worry about the expenses I just need a peace of mindā€. I said yes because I felt really bad not being there for her but I told her in advance that I cannot afford a big expense. I booked my flight to New York and it was really expensive. She asked me to book a hotel too which was again really expensive. After booking the hotel she sent me only half of the money which I was ok splitting as we always split our expenses. At this point I was already broke and had debt on my credit card. I didnt enjoy the trip at all because whole time I was worried about my expenses and not being able to afford food. On the trip she wanted to go extra even though I told her multiple times I cant afford. She said dont worry but paid all the food expenses. I am not a person who likes to use other people money so I offer to I book all l the uber and transportation and pay for coffee and breakfast. She wanted to go to facial, leg massage, in a very expensive place and again I told her I cannot afford. She said she will treat me for my birthday as my birthday hdya was coming up. I didnā€™t want to go at all but she insisted again. Luckily the trip was over and I came home. At this point I was double broke. After coming home I thought it was over and panicking looking over my creditcard untill today. She sent me an excel sheet with all the expense divided by 2 in it. I was shocked after that. The only thing she didnt add was facial and she reminded me that I owe her.
Aitah for being upset with this? I know I went on a trip but I didnt enjoy it was only for her. I also skipped my class to be with her. I feel like I was being used.

2024.05.16 07:12 internmonkey95 Why was the Citi Prestige discontinued?

Out of curiosity, why was the Citi prestige discontinued?
Iā€™m an AU on my dadā€™s card, and this card seems absolutely amazing with 4th night free on hotels, 5x on dining and airfare (sorry Amex plat), 3x on hotels, and a priority pass that includes restaurants all for an effective $245 AF, so similar to the CSR. I get the travel protections are non existent compared to the excellent insurance on the CSR, but damn 5x dining and 5x airfare is crazy good, especially considering I spend around 120k annually across both those categories.
Iā€™d love one of these for myself, but one can only dream.

2024.05.16 07:12 mishmashmish Best bang for buck used ā€˜nifty fiftyā€™ mirrorless photo kit?

Hi all! Missed photography and looking to get back into it.
Past few 3-5yrs Iā€™ve just used my iphone for snapshots/memories but really missing the composition and thought process that comes with having an actual camera.
In the past Iā€™ve had m43s, Sony A7, Fuji X and some nifty ā€œcompactsā€ (Ricoh GR&III&IIIx, a few of X100 series, Sony RX1 and a few of the RX100s). Honestly more of a gearhead than a photographerā€¦
I think what Iā€™d want are: - 40-50mm focal length for versatile framing in tighter spaces - I find 50mm in Asia (esp Japan) quite tight already but 35mm is a bit meh for people - f2.8 if full frame (or f2 APS-C) for reasonably shallow DoF - Consistent AF, doesnā€™t have to fast but accuracy is key, I back button centre focus and recompose - Good control layout (Ricoh GR was excellent on this) but also a built in EVF for composition - Photos only for fun/memories/the rare print, mostly family, street, and travel situations - Going to have it slung across my shoulder so it doesnā€™t have to be tiny but not too chunky or heavy or screams expensive gear
A few USED options Iā€™m thinking about: - Sony RX1R II (35mm F2) - Panasonic S5 w/ Sigma 45mm f2.8 - Sony A7II/III w/ Sony 40mm f2.5 or sigma 45 f2.8 or Samyang 45 f1.8 or Sony 55 1.8 (bit big) - Nikon Z5 w Nikon 40mm F2
If youā€™ve played around with a few of the current offering on the market, share your thoughts? Especially if Iā€™m missing any options!

2024.05.16 07:09 ZealousidealPage5309 How do I break into Business Development/Strategy with no analyst experience/background?

I'm trying to branch out from my current servicing role as a Localization project manager overseeing a few accounts to business development/strategy. My ultimate goal would be something like Tech Sales.
I suspect my current role will be outsourced within 2 years, but some other factors have pushed that estimate sooner. So, I feel some pressure to work toward this goal.
It seems like the only BusDev jobs I quality for would require me to take a pay cut. My salary is somewhere around 75K. The ones that match or exceed my salary require a stronger quantitative background, which I lack.
I could try to invest time and energy into earning online certs in things like SQL, advanced excel, etc.. However, I'm not sure if that's going to tip the scale in the eyes of the recruiter for the amount of effort required.
I would try management consulting instead, but I'm too old for it. I've also got a family now, which makes the travel part not doable.
Would it be worth it to try to earn certs as a way to offset my lack of analyst experience? Do those mean anything to recruiters in this context?

2024.05.16 07:05 Aniket_surya Foco franchise model - worth it?

I am currently 3 years in corporate working in MNC (age 25) but I want to also start a side business for food. I got to know about a newly established joint (operating from last 1.5 year) they are providing foco model franchise and are operating in 5-6 places already. I am going to go for tasting the food soon. I need more advice on how to judge a Foco business? I already asked for Excel sheet of the business with all the numbers and analysed them, it also mentions about payback of franchise fee in around 1.5 year, if we even take 2 year, I think it might get profitable. They expect 8% around royalty on every month sales and also they will take a franchise fee in start of business.
As I am new to such kind of business, I am not able to understand if I am seeing everything or is there some dark sides too which I need to know if I want to get into the business, I also want to know is it really good profitable type of model (foco)? Because if we are already getting like 13-15% from investments then is it worth doing so much management for small returns? Maybe I am sounding dumb I have no idea.
Please guide me with your stories, suggestions, advices, any points are welcome

2024.05.16 06:59 Own_Tailor9802 Do you know a country called South Korea?

My name is Emily. I'm from the United States and I wanted to end my 20's with a bang, and I'm happy to say that I ended my 20's in Korea.Actually, Korea was not a country that I had much to do with.Originally, I was a person who was immersed in Japanese culture since college.Japanese anime became my friend. There's a lot of interesting things about Japanese anime, like the fact that they depict real places in Japan, and they depict real food, and so I fell in love with Japan, and I even traveled to Japan a couple times, and I thought that Japan was the sum of everything that I longed for.
But then, in my late 20s, I met a friend who would change my life. It was a simple meeting with a long-lost college classmate, Sarah, who had gone on to work at a large firm in New York City, and whom I had shared anime and Japanese food with in my dorm room in college. She told me honestly that she had recently traveled to Korea and was seriously thinking about moving there. Unfortunately, the large company she worked for in New York had recently gone through a business crisis, and she was laid off.
She said that she was confused by the sudden betrayal of a well-known company, and to clear her mind, she went to the airport with the intention of leaving anywhere. She thought she would go to Japan, but when she arrived at the airport, she changed her mind. When she thought back to the places and restaurants she frequented most often while working at the company in New York, she remembered that she often went to Korean streets and Korean supermarkets in New York, and she thought that going to Korea on an impromptu trip was a really good idea, so she chose to go to Korea rather than Japan, which she already knew.
And buying a plane ticket on the spot at the airport was more than twice as expensive as booking a ticket in advance, but Sarah said that she didn't care, because she was depressed after being fired from her job, and she went to the airport to leave, but the curiosity about Korea that came over her made her want to leave right away, even if she had to pay for the expensive plane ticket.
He expressed that although he went to the airport courageously, he knew that the plane ticket would be too expensive, and he thought that maybe he should just go back home again, but his curiosity about Korea came from somewhere deep inside him, and it exploded like a bomb, and he was naturally drawn to it.
Sarah, who likes emotional things like essays and poems in college and enjoys such poetic expressions, but even so, I wondered if it was a little overdone, but when she said that she had been to Korea, I became more focused on her story.
However, I was able to understand why she expressed herself in such an over-the-top way after listening to her Korean stories.
"Korea is an amazing place, the people are so kind and warm, and most of all, the employment system is very well organized. There are many programs and support for job seekers, which is very helpful for people who are in a difficult situation like me."
When Sarah started with this story, I realized that she was really traumatized by being laid off. Now, she had been through a big ordeal and was in the process of recovering from it through Korea, so I decided to focus more on her story."You said you traveled to Korea, so what else did you do?" I asked."For example, what kind of programs were there?" I asked her.
"I happened to visit a job fair in Korea," she said, "where job seekers can get free career counseling and get the training they need." "I got a lot of help there, and it gave me the strength to get back on my feet, and maybe even get a job in Korea." "And most of all, the work culture in Korea is really family-like," she said, "I was impressed by how much my coworkers cared about each other and supported each other."
Sarah said that she was curious about what Korea was like, so she visited a large convention center in Korea and participated in various fairs, one of which was a job fair, and she interviewed with several Korean companies, and the Korean companies were ready to accept her as a colleague if she applied as an American. I also learned that Korea has many companies with global reach, and they are open to foreigners with various experiences, but in Korea, unless it is a large company, people don't prefer them, so if it is a small company, they want foreigners, but there is a sad reality that no one applies.
Unlike in the U.S., where you have to report your performance every week, and if you fall short, you are threatened with termination, Korean companies are definitely not more performance-oriented than in the U.S. They value their employees and do everything together to grow together, not threaten them with termination. In the past, I knew that corporate culture in Asian countries such as Korea was more collectivistic than individualistic, and as a student, I thought that such a collectivistic culture was a bad culture with a high level of disease in Asia, but after experiencing social life in the United States, I heard that the tendency of companies to be extremely individualistic, talking about job insecurity, and treating people ruthlessly, caused me to be fired from a good job overnight, and the future plans I had planned in advance became uncertain, and I even talked about envying the Korean culture that does not have such disadvantages.
Sarah, who has never worked in Korea, but was always afraid of being fired, said that she learned a lot about Korean corporate culture by interviewing many Korean company officials.
She said that she even considered settling down and living in Korea because, besides the culture, there were so many other conveniences and benefits.
She talked about her experience of working in New York, being left alone in the office to get things done because of her performance, having to leave late at night and being afraid to go home, sleeping in the hotel next door, and having to live with the exorbitant rent in Manhattan and the two-hour round-trip commute to work, and how she realized that unlike in the U.S., where it is difficult to see a doctor, she would not have to worry about these things in Korea.
Sarah's story made me even more curious about Korea. The warmth, systematic system, and various charms that she experienced in Korea couldn't help but have a great impact on me.I've been experiencing a lot of stress every day due to the pressure of performance and the threat of being fired, and I've recently been undergoing expensive psychotherapy.I decided to learn more about Korea, and eventually decided to travel to Korea.
Of course, I didn't travel to Korea with the intention of moving to Korea or settling down in Korea, but rather to spend my last 20s in a new country, Korea, and to see a different world than the familiar Japan.
I made my preparations and headed to Korea sooner than I expected, arriving ten days before my birthday and extending my itinerary beyond what I had originally planned, staying in Korea until after my birthday and then flying back to the United States.
The first day I finally arrived in Korea, I started walking around the streets of Seoul. The first thing that greeted me was the warm spring weather in Korea. The sky was clear and the air was crisp.I was told that it is common for Asia to have very bad air quality in the spring due to the influence of China, but I didn't have to deal with that during my trip.
The streets of Korea are very different from the United States, and everything was new to me.There were many beautiful flowers in bloom, and the well-maintained trees were really beautiful. It has been a long time since the common people's neighborhoods in the United States have such beautiful landscaping because of people who destroy these trees and flowers for no reason, or secretly take them and sell them. But this was not the case in Korea. The streets were like a beautiful flower garden.
I was walking down a beautiful street lined with flowers, and I was looking at them, looking at the big big map that was displayed on the screen at the bus stop.I was just curious to see what my neighborhood looked like, so I was looking at the map and taking my time, and a middle-aged woman came up to me and said, "Where are you looking for?" She didn't speak fluent English, but I was so grateful that she was trying to help. I was too embarrassed to tell her that I was just looking at the map, so I told her one of the destinations I was planning to go to, and she gave me direct directions to the place I was looking for, and I was able to get there without any difficulty. This unexpected kindness opened my eyes to the Korean people and warmed my heart at the same time.
I was ready to accept everything in Korea with an open mind. The first impression was very good, I was touched by the kindness of the people.I couldn't ask for anything more from Korea. The food was so fresh and amazing to me.I visited Gwangjang Market, a famous traditional market in Korea.
Unlike a regular restaurant, it was a place where you could sit down and try a variety of food. As a traditional market, it was full of Korean food. There were no pizza, pasta, or burger joints, but I liked it better that way. It was a place where you could see the traditional look and feel curious about everything.
I also tasted foods such as tteokbokki sundae and hotteok.Everything else was fine, but I was a little worried when I first tried sundae because it looked so strange and a little gross, but I decided to give it a try and the moment I put it in my mouth, the rich flavor filled my mouth.Korean food often seems difficult to eat, but when you try it, you can see why it is so popular in Korea.
I stayed at Gwangjang Market for a long time and tried a lot of different foods, especially kimchi and pajeon, which I still remember because of their crispy texture and spicy flavor. I would recommend them to everyone.Experiencing the deep flavors of Korean food firsthand made me fall in love with Korean food.
And then there was a shocking thing that happened to me in Korea.I was having a lot of fun traveling around Korea and everything was interesting, because Korea is really the best place to be, you know, you're running around, you're busy, you're going from place to place, and I had the misfortune of losing my passport, which was really stupid.
I was traveling in Korea, and I got an international call. Someone was calling me from Korea, and when I saw the international call indicator on my phone and realized that the call was from Korea, I had a million questions.
I thought I shouldn't answer the call, but then I realized that it was an international call, and I thought maybe they were calling me because they had some business to take care of. I answered the call, and I was told a really crazy story, because I heard a calm English voice asking if it was Emily, and she introduced herself as a police officer and asked if I could come to the nearest police station.
I thought I had done something terribly wrong, because I had just eaten delicious tteokbokki and sundae, kimchi and pajeon, and I was so happy to eat them, and afterward I was just walking around the streets of Korea, smelling the flowers and seeing the pretty trees.
I started to check my belongings one by one and realized that my small pouch containing my passport and some of the money I had exchanged was missing.
I quickly headed to the police station, which was where I was told to go, and from the front gate, I was controlled as to what I was visiting.
The great thing about Korea is that even for someone like me who doesn't speak Korean, it's not difficult to navigate these government offices. Not all Koreans speak English, but at least the ones I've met have been able to communicate with me in a simple way. Even if they don't speak perfect sentences, they understand most of the words, so I was able to communicate the reason for my visit to the police station.
I had never been to a police station before, even in the U.S., but here I was in Korea, and I was greeted by friendly people. The pouch with my passport in it had my contact information written on the inside, and they said they would contact me with that. The bag was found in a marketplace, and the first person to report it was the stall owner of the place where I had my first sundae. It also had all of my clean, new Korean money in it, which I had exchanged separately.
I was so impressed with how conscientious Koreans are and how good they are that I was able to find the pouch, sign the paperwork, and walk out of the police station.
I went back to Gwangjang Market, and when I got there, the owner recognized me and looked like he was about to say something. I held out the bag and showed it to him, and he smiled and liked it.
I thanked the Korean boss, and we ate another snack on the spot. It was an experience that made me realize how heavenly Korea is.
And like Sarah said, I didn't just want to see how clean and pretty Korea is, I wanted to see what an American working in Korea could do and what life would be like.Through the Reddit community, I was able to get in touch with Americans working in Korea and even met some of them in person.
David, the American I met, works for a company that is not a large Korean company, but rather a small or medium-sized company. As Sarah said, Korea is a country where products are produced for the global market, and many things are actually exported overseas.
However, in Korea, unless it is a large company, every company is experiencing a job shortage, and because of the atmosphere in Korea, where foreigners are not welcome at all, it is not difficult to get a job in a company that specializes in exporting overseas, even if you are in the United States.
And David told me that he put all his passion into the first company he worked for in the U.S., and even made a lot of money for the company, but when he didn't perform, the company fired him without mercy, and he said that he was so shocked, not to mention the feeling of betrayal, that he took depression medication at that time, and it was so hard that he took depression medication, and then he found Korea by chance and settled in Korea, and now he is so happy. He told me that he was fired from his job because of the unrelenting treatment in the U.S., that he found a second chance in Korea, and that he is happy with his life here.
I'm not sure I have the courage to move to Korea right now, but I learned that there are a lot of people like Sarah and David who have been hurt so badly that they end up leaving the country. I'm scared that this could be my future, but I also learned that Korea is an option for me if it happens to me.My trip ended like this: experiencing the culture, food, and hospitality of Korea, and getting to meet and talk to Americans living in Korea, made my trip much more rewarding than my trip to Japan, which could have been an anime trip.
Korea has given me new perspectives and experiences, shattered my notion that Japan is only good, broadened my horizons, and opened my eyes to another gem that is Korea.
I now like to say to my friends, "Go to Korea, you'll see how good it is." Korea has taught me so much, and I will cherish my experience in Korea, which now holds a special place in my heart.
If Sarah goes to Korea and settles down, I will be there to congratulate her and support her in her new relationship in Korea.

2024.05.16 06:17 MysteriousAd3592 Trying to build an Excel-Based Grievance Database with Input Form and PDF Generation

Hello everyone,
Iā€™ve been tasked with a project at work to create a database in Excel to manage all grievances received by our company. However, the requirements are a bit specific and I could use some help from this community to get things right.
Hereā€™s what I need to accomplish:
  1. User-Friendly Input Form: I need to design an input form that allows users to enter data without interacting directly with the cells. This form should take the information and populate the corresponding cells in the database.
  2. PDF Generation: Once the data is entered, I need a way to generate a clean and professional-looking PDF report from the information stored in the Excel rows. The output should be formatted nicely, similar to how invoicing software works, avoiding the raw cell format.
Specifics:
What Iā€™ve Tried:
Questions:
  1. Whatā€™s the best way to create a user-friendly input form in Excel that inputs data into specific cells?
  2. How can I automate the generation of a formatted PDF report from the data entered in Excel?
Any templates, code snippets, or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

2024.05.16 05:54 Legitimate_Chance860 Am I wasting my youth

I (24F) just turned 24 and I canā€™t help put feel like Iā€™m wasting my youth. Iā€™ve always dreamt of travel and freedom and I went to college and graduated and accepted a banking job and moved in with my boyfriend and got a cat.. I feel myself putting down roots and feel like I never fulfilled my desires. Iā€™m stuck between preparing for my future and working seasonal jobs traveling around the world. Ive found my very happy doing things that arenā€™t necessarily glamorous like cleaning and hospitality etc etc and very unhappy in the corporate orate setting Iā€™ve found myself in. Iā€™m sure this is a common struggle but I wish I knew which path to followā€¦ I donā€™t want to find myself in my 40s wishing I did more that I wanted to do while I had the freedom but ALSO donā€™t want to find myself wishing I wouldā€™ve prepared better. I also donā€™t want to give my cat up for adoption sheā€™s 7 and sheā€™s my baby I would never give her away since she is a commitment (even though one I made at age 18) but itā€™s kind of hard to find seasonal jobs where pets are allowed. I should also note my boyfriend (24M) has no interest in traveling or experiencing these things unless weā€™re planning a short vacation. I love him so thatā€™s another thing I worry about leaving behind
