2024.05.29 05:52 trekkiegamer359 How to Get Take Over a Website From an Ailing Person (with their permission) When the Domain is Lost?

My retired mom has gotten quite into a very niche science field, and is currently writing a book about it. The best website on the subject has gone down because the domain expired. She reached out to the sole woman who manages it, who is a passing acquaintance of my mom's, and has found that she's not doing well. She's in her 80s and seems to have significant memory loss. She didn't remember her own brother's name when they talked.
My mom offered to take over the website and keep it up in perpetuity. The lady was thrilled and almost started crying she was so happy. My question is what do we need to do to take over control of the website, and get it back up and running? I'm in the process of finding next of kin to have someone mentally competent to be able to talk to. This is also needed because we're in Iowa, and this lady is in New England.
I know that the website has been saved by the Wayback Machine almost 600 times, so we have access to most if not all of the content that way if the data is lost otherwise. I know the easiest thing would be to get access to the admin controls and pay it off before time runs out, but I don't know how long we have, or if it's already been too long. I'd ask for admin data from the lady, but if she doesn't know her brother's name, I doubt she remembers how to access her website controls. Hopefully a next of kin or closer friend can help.
We'll hire a web admin when we need to, but I'd like to have some basic idea of where to start with all this. I'll be going to a legal reddit sub for initial advice on the legal side. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
(Also, sorry if this is wrong flare. I wasn't sure what to put. Thanks.)

2024.05.29 05:51 ElectroMenZ I just beat my first full Kaizo ROM hack (SM74 Ten Years After v3.74) + my review

I just beat my first full Kaizo ROM hack (SM74 Ten Years After v3.74) + my review
Ok, so on May 26th 2024, I got all the stars after 31 hours + 3 more I had on another save file, and let me tell you what, it was quite a rollercoaster of an adventure, so here I'll just review my overall experience of it
C1 Dice Domain: (9/10) It was a nice beginning course that felt welcoming for people who are just getting started on easier Kaizo hacks, like sure, it feels a bit different from the original source material, and that can be great, as it gives a player something kinda new, so overall, it's a solid level without it being intimidating, and it's just a nice little warmup for me, someone who's trying Kaizos for the first time
C2 Concrete Jungle: (8.5/10) This is also a pretty solid course, and although, the red coin star was replaced in this version, it was still a solid experience without them, and the stars still felt like a nice little warmup. Also, there was that one heave-ho trick I had to know about, so yeah, I didn't know at the time, and instead went the long way on top to slide and jumped to the star, which involved me finding a bug where I get soft locked on the slope, but again, still quite a solid level with interesting design choices
C3 Wallowing Wells: (8/10) This is a great mashup of C3 from SM74 and EE, and even though I'm not the biggest fan of water levels, you actually have faster swimming, and it's way better than what I tried in EE, I mean, I had a good time getting the stars and the 100 coins even, then you have the waterless mode star which is a good test of your platforming skills, and even though a fell down a few times, it's actually not near as bad as what you had to do in EE, and it was quite enjoyable, so still a nice mashup that doesn't feel like a difficulty spike out of nowhere, but still slightly trickier than the first two courses
Underground Slide: (7.5/10) Now, here's the first little difficulty spike in the hack, so this one had me dying a bit on the slide's reds, and yeah I died at the end to that stupid pillar. Also, to get that first star in the metal cap switch, I decided to take the long route instead of doing the skip, I dunno why, but anyway, near the end of that section kinda felt like a chokepoint, but I mean, it's not bad, and I liked how they replaced the Mario Party minigame music with the underground theme from Yoshi's Island, which is quite fitting with the redesign, so overall, even if it's a bit of a difficulty spike early in the game, I still did like my experience with it quite a bit, and I like the new aesthetic of it
B1 Bowser's Park Party: (9/10) I actually like what they did with this version, they made it feel a bit different by making it like an island in the sky, and the stars were just pretty fun overall, like the one metal cap star was an interesting because of the way you go inside the building to get it, and the key section felt free because of the metal cap safety net, but there was that one part where you had to do oddly precise lava bounces, I don't know why LinCrash made it that way, but I'm not gonna question it, and it was an enjoyable experience all the way through
C4 Bogey Bayou: (8/10) I thought this course was pretty fun, but there was that one pit with Bubbas with the red coins that were a bit risky to get due to the relentless nature of them, however, the rest of this course had some solid stars in it, like there was one star where you have the entrance to a secret lava section, and due to the Parallel Lakitu cam, you didn't have to do blind guesswork, so that's nice, but yeah, the actual secret entrance star was just free, nothing else to say about that one, but even though the 100 coins took me longer than it should've, I actually had quite a fun time platforming on rooftops over some deadly quicksand sludge
C5 Flamework Factory: (8.5/10) An interesting course with tunnels that leads you to other stars and parts of the level, and honestly, I liked how it felt sort of like nice little puzzle with a couple of stars requiring certain caps to traverse to the other section, and in the current version, the tunnels just warp you to that certain room, I don't really mind the change that much because it doesn't really decrease the difficulty that much, so overall, another solid experience when I knew the places I needed to go for certain stars.
MC Aerial Alpine: (9/10) I love what they did with the metal cap stage from the original EE, they turned it into a snow level, and now it's a lot more enjoyable, and even though this current version replaced the red coin star, it was still a nice chill stage, no pun intended, and the stars felt like nice little warmup sections that I had a pretty good time with, even though they replaced the metal cap section with a shell riding one, so that actually felt a bit more fun to do, since I'm actually good with the shell
VC Dusty Darkness: (6.5/10) Now, this is the first level that started giving me a bit of problems, like there's this one star where I had to jump down to a walljumping section, and I actually had to turn up the brightness on my monitor to see where I was, and even then, I kept on getting caught on the one wall because the collision is weird, and I missed my jump quite a bit because of it, but once I learned to stop touching the wall, it wasn't as bad, and there was one more star that gave me slight problems, but that one at least didn't have bad collision, and the other stars were actually quite decent, so yeah, definitely not a great level at all, but not that bad
WC Lava Pit of Inversion: (7.5/10) Yeah, it's just a chill wing cap course that doesn't feel special at all, it was just like the original, except flipped upside down, I mean, the stars were satisfying to get, however, could've done something more creative with it, but I mean, it still is quite a decent experience
C6 Stalactite Cave: (8/10) This is yet another water stage, and again, I'm not the biggest fan of them, but this one actually was kinda interesting, even though this course got the Drowned Factory treatment. This course seemed quite solid with this one platforming section above water that is slightly tricky, but quite fun to do, and I liked that one part where you had to get a Chuckya from the cage below and clip behind a wall to get that one star, so yeah, nice rendition of course 6 that had completely different stars, and it was not bad to navigate at all
C7 Crumble Rumble Tower: (8/10) I really do like the aesthetic of this course, and I enjoyed the climb to the top with the 5 secrets, it's actually kinda fun doing those ledgegrabs near the top, even when there were those clouds that blew you off the course, and the 100 coins were fun to get, except there was that one sketchy red coin you had to get a walljump off of, but it was still a bit of fun nonetheless, and the King Whomp bossfight is actually not bad, even though it was sand, but you actually had more of a platform to work with, so yeah, overall, solid course with only a couple parts that made me go "meh"
C8 Absolute Zeroasis: (6.5/10) Yeah, this is a course I didn't enjoy as much due to that red coins maze with freezing water, and the camera not being the greatest, along with that one spiral pyramid star that was quite a bit annoying to get, but if you set aside that, the 100 coins and other stars are actually decent, so overall, it's not that bad, but yeah, wasn't really a fan of a couple stars
C9 Nature Nocturne: (8/10) This is actually a solid rendition of Course 9, I liked the music in it, it was a nice vibe from Yoshi's Story, and I liked the red coins in it, there was some enjoyable platforming on top of wood planks, and it's interesting going under the flower field to get this one secret, even though you had to go back to get the star, but I really like the idea of it, and yeah, the star under the bridge I could've gotten by using the switch, but I did it the hard way, which took me dozens of tries, but overall, what a solid remake
B2 Bowser's Tidal Tropics: (6.5/10) So yeah, this is the first level that actually made me rage a bit, but before I get into that, I will say that I love the Koopa Troopa Beach music in this course, it really compliments the theme of it, and 4 of the stars in there were just kind of a nice experience, but that one star where you had to do the firsties at the right angle, even though, thankfully it's not quicksand this time, it's water, it still proved to be quite a bit annoying, but it was satisfying once I pulled it off, and now, the key part was what really started getting to me because at the beginning, I felt like I had to do the one firstie so that I can have just the right height land on the platform without getting grabbed by the Chuckya, and that gets annoying because every time a failed on those angled timed boxes, I have to start front the beginning, but I realized, I did that part the hard way, so my experience with this could've went a lot smoother, if it weren't for that, but still, not the greatest experience due to it deriving from the EE version of this stage, however, the stars before the key section were overall not bad, and again, that key section made me quite a bit angry, but the rest of it was actually not bad, it was just a matter of getting past those couple things I mentioned earlier
C10 Quicksand Beach: (9/10) After the last stage, this one was actually quite chill, the stars were actually quite enjoyable to get, like the red coins were fun to shell jump up to get in the middle of the quicksand, and thank God LinCrash decided to have 100 coins nerfed because in the older versions of SM74, you had to get all the blue coins like near frame perfect, and you had to slowly push all the bullies into that one tiny lava pit, but this version, really made it chill, and at first, I thought the stars you had to get by going into the quicksand tunnel we're gonna be a pain, but actually, the Parallel Lakitu cam worked out in my favor, and I actually enjoyed going down there, so this yet is another nice and solid experience
C11 Polluted Pond: (7/10) So, it's the level with one of the stars I dreaded, the star where you have to do walljump crossovers over a platform with quicksand, but I really surprised myself here, as it only took me a few tries, and I actually never died to the quicksand itself, I just failed at the last crossover a few times, so this might've been just a fluke, but yeah, while the rest of the level wasn't the greatest due to having to climb back up out of the toxic sand below, and it took me so long to find the last red coin for some reason, although, it still has quite a bit of fun platforming here and there, but on that one hideout star where you kinda have tight window for those timed boxes, it was mildly annoying when I hit that arrow leading me to it, however, after that is not that bad, just one sketchy jump, so overall, not really a great course, but the platforming was a bit of fun to do
C12 Cliff of Time: (8/10) Now this is an interesting one because this is like the first time that we see two versions of a course that you get to switch between depending on the star, and I mean, I enjoyed getting these stars, they were quite a bit unique from each other, and yeah, the red coins weren't really as bad as I thought, it was just that one sketchy walljump ledgegrab I had to do to get to the rest of the course, and every time you started the harder version of this course, you had to do a firstie to even start it, which is not that annoying at all, and just meh, but the same went for some of the red coins, however, you did have quite a bit of room for error before the timer ran out, so this course overall has cool concepts, and it felt quite fair
C13 Sea Salt Peaks: (5/10) Now, most of this course felt a bit free, and Koopa the Quick is still slow, this was just a fine level, but oh my God, the Hot Arch Crossing star really brings down the experience because it was so annoying with those firespitters while having to do more precise walljump crossovers three times in a row, and one where you have to do kind of a precise triple jump to get to the last crossover, like that star genuinely made me just rage, and I never wanna touch it again, although the 100 coins were quite a bit scarce
C14 Veninium Sphere: (8.5/10) Now this course was quite fun, and I actually like how LinCrash designed the course to have more gaps in it to make up for the nerfs he did, so it still didn't feel too easy for what it was, and the climb was quite satisfying, but the one small flaw I had was with the first star Tower of the South, and that is when I just got through the hall of angled walljumps, I would sometimes miss the star because I couldn't exactly tell where it is in that hole in the ceiling, but I mean, I feel like that one was just on me, although, the rest of the level was very good, and the red coins didn't feel daunting at all to get, so overall, it was quite an enjoyable experience
C15 Delombru Sphere: (8.5/10) Same as the last course, the climb was quite satisfying to do, but this course felt a bit more convoluted to me because there was that one sideways tower that I didn't know I could reach with a triple jump until I tried it, and there was that one Dungeon Dominance star where I didn't think that precise walljump ledgegrab was intended, yet it was, but it wasn't actually that bad, and thank God that one crazy Tower of the North star was changed into an amp obstacle course because in the old versions, you had to do really precise walljumps consistently without ledgegrabbing, and the 100 coins and 8 reds were actually pretty satisfying to get on only like what, my 4th attempt? I mean, you got those two sketchy red coins at the beginning, but after that, it was nice and smooth sailing because I just crushed it, I genuinely thought I was gonna fumble more on that, but glad I didn't, however, the Morbid Deadly Puzzle star was still pretty tough because it's like closer to EE difficulty than any other star here, and I will not forgive that one Snifit that killed me one time when I was getting far into that star, but it was quite satisfying once I finally got the star at the end, so overall, a well designed course with a challenge that will prove to be pretty difficult, but comes with a satisfying reward at the end
Void of the East: (8/10) Now this was quite a tough and challenging star, and that one angled walljump off the pillar and tower right next to it is kinda what made the challenge even moreso, but good thing you can come up with a good routing method for this star to not feel like as much of a drag, so for me, the metal cap lava bounce secret was the easiest, so I did that last, and yeah, to get off that one rooftop, it sucked when I just couldn't make the jump with the wrong angle, but as I did the right angle, it wasn't as bad, and the rest of the course is actually fun, so once it got consistent, it was quite enjoyable, and I was thoroughly satisfied after getting that star
B3 Bowser's Rainbow Realm: (6/10) Yeah, I didn't enjoy opening the cannon in this stage that much at all, I just hated having to do those angled wall kicks over the first lava section at every attempt I had at opening the cannon, but good thing that you didn't have to do three of those in a row, just one of them, and the amp section was just a bit annoying because I had to be careful with my jumps, while having to deal with the possibility of the firespitter getting me, as for the second lava section that first jump was quite sketchy to make, but right after that, the section was definitely better than the first one. There was also that Heave-ho on the third section that killed me at least a couple times, and it felt like a slap to the face when that happened to me, but when I opened the cannon, I felt quite a bit relieved, and the other stars were actually a bit enjoyable, despite me wanting to get to Grandmaster's Goal that final day, like the secrets had some decent platforming, but it was just a slight flaw that I couldn't properly see that one opening to getting that 5 secrets star, however, I got the right angle at some point, and now the 8 red coins were actually quite decent, it felt like a good break, but there were a couple red coins that seemed slightly sketchy, but we're not bad at all, however, I will say, wasn't really the biggest fan of getting on those steep slopes, as they felt fast, and I had to make sure my angle to get on them was good or else I'd fall down due to no ledgegrabs, but it was alright, and yeah, I accidentally got that one caged Banjo Tooie cartridge star while getting the red coins, but after that, there was one more kind of annoying star I had to get with that risky platforming on the walls of the amp section, and the final fight was just Bowser, but the bombs were oddly closer than the original, don't know why LinCrash made them like that, but whatever, it's fine, so overall, yeah, this stage can get quite frustrating when you are trying to open the cannon, but after that, it's not bad at all, it actually got quite a bit fun, although, the music felt a bit repetitive NGL
Grandmaster's Goal: (8/10) This was a pretty good gauntlet at the end, but oh my God it's quite nerve-wracking I got closer to the end, and when I died a couple times at those cones in the Cliff of Wrath part, it was a bit disappointing, but as I noticed that I was getting more consistent with the other parts, the confidence built within me, and in this current version, they added a heart at the walljump crossover section, and oh man, I really needed it, even though it nerfs the endurance test a bit, I still appreciated it, and yeah, the metal cap section was still a chokepoint because of that one walljump ledgegrab, and at the beginning of me doing this gauntlet, I kept dying at the Stalagmite Cave slide part, even though I shouldn't have because it's easy when I got the angle right, but yeah, overall, this gauntlet was pretty well put together, but yeah, there are a couple parts that are easily chokeable and can be roadblocks to your success. Oh and one thing I forgot, the other two Grandmaster's Goal stars, they were a bit easy to get, like you could just do a skip to save time for the "speedrun" star, and there was that one hidden star that was fairly easy to find, so those two stars were essentially before the real deal, and they were kinda cool to get
In conclusion, my first Kaizo experience definitely had times where I got quite a bit frustrated, but in the end, I'm glad I beat this as my hardest ROM hack, and the experience was definitely worthwhile, so I decided to post this review here to share my experience

2024.05.29 05:50 its_me_pg_99 3 FINRA and 2 NASAA Tests taken down in 5 months. You can do it too!

Hi everyone,
I'm a brand-new brokeinvestment adviser rep just starting out, and having gone through multiple exams and passing them all on the first try, I thought I'd give my 2 cents on how you can pass them, hopefully in a quicker time than me! I'll go through each test and my personal experience, then I'll explain the methods I actually used and how you can customize them to your needs.
SIE - I literally had zero experience in the securities industry when I started studying. I wasn't sure what to think after the first lesson, but I found it interesting! It took me a little over 2 months to prepare (I used Kaplan for all my tests). I studied for about 2.5 to 3 hours each day, and made sure to take plenty of notes. I found the real test was actually easier than the Final and Mastery Exams. Lots of questions of options, the primary/secondary markets, investment companies and the Acts; overall a good mix.
Series 6 - Immediately started prepping the day after passing the SIE; passed it about a month later. Suitability was the key point of emphasis; I memorized the suitability chart that they gave in the textbook and that helped a ton. Real test had a lot more scenario based questions asking you to pick the right type of investment for a customer. Tbh I was feeling a little nervous for this one since I had failed the second Mastery Exam, and this was three days before my test date. The key difference between this one and the SIE was that the latter had a broad amount of material, while the 6 asked you how products actually worked. I'd say this was the second hardest for me.
Series 63 - Again, started prepping the day after passing the 6. I'm being 100% honest here, it was almost pure memorization. I memorized the exempt transactions/securities, as well as the exemptions and exclusions for broker-dealers, agents, investment advisers, and investment adviser reps by writing them down over and over again (on my laptop to save trees lol). Also, knowing the legal terms was key, because this was a state law exam by NASAA (so don't confuse their rules with FINRA's). The Mastery Exams were a breeze, and the real test was definitely the easiest out of the bunch for me.
Series 26 - Here's where things start to get tougher. The info that I'd learned from the SIE and 6 (they're prerequisites for this one) came back to me, and I had to remember that it was important to look at it from a supervisor's POV, because a lot of questions were going to be based on this (i.e. "A rep commits X, what should the principal do to handle this situation?") The material itself was stuff that had already been drilled into me, but being a 110-question test, I had to time myself to keep pace on the practice tests. On the actual test, I was able to answer all the questions within 2 hours, and that gave me enough time to do a second-run through. Not too bad all in all; for me it was a tad bit easier than the SIE.
Series 65 - Oh boy. Let me tell you guys something that'll save you a ton of headaches later on: DO. NOT. TAKE. THIS. TEST. LIGHTLY. I just passed it last week, and if it hadn't been for the countless hours of studying I'd put in, I most likely would've failed. This literally had all of the material from the previous tests, including the entirety of the 63. On top of that, it also had federal laws that needed to be recognized from the state-level ones. The Kaplan course had 24 units to cover all the material, and a little over 4200 QBank questions. A huge mistake I made was not using all of them up. After taking the 2nd Mastery and all of the practice tests, I had answered around 3000 questions. After some debating on whether I should study some more or schedule, although I was still shaky in a few areas, I decided to go for it. The real test started out easy, and by questions 30-40, I was feeling like I might fail. But I stayed calm and focused on doing my best. I was super grateful for knowing those formulas, as a couple of questions didn't ask for calculations, but simply what they were. The ones that did ask to calculate tripped me up a bit, but I made my best picks/guesses. After answering all the questions with about 50 minutes left, I changed 2 answers; one because I didn't read the question properly and the other because I found another question that helped to answer. As you can imagine, this test was easily the toughest out of them all. I was more than thankful to see that "Pass" appear after clicking "Submit".
So there's my story! Sorry for the long paragraph on the 65; I actually cut out some more sentences to try and shorten it as much as possible. To cap everything off, I'll go through the main strategies I used, and how you can customize them to your will (Although I used Kaplan, they can probably work for other programs as well).
1) Do many practice tests. After each practice test, read the explanations throughly. Understand why you got the question right or wrong. The real test will almost certainly have different wording than the prep course you're using, so understanding the concept allows you to answer correctly regardless of how the question is asked. When I was using the QBank questions, I made sure to set the custom quiz to pull unused questions from the pool, so I didn't know what would appear next.
2) Make acronyms/phrases. They can be about absolutely anything (a movie, a life experience, etc). Anything that you can connect a group of bullet points or a concept to make it easier to remember is a good thing. For instance, I was having trouble with SEP IRAs, and it kept mentioning that only the employer contributes to this type of IRA. So to help me remember, I made the phrase "Solely Employer Puts In" (the first letter of each word makes SEP and I for IRA). Any silly way to hammer that point in means you won't forget come test time.
3) Record yourself saying concepts and phrases, and put it on loop. I started doing this a bit for the 26, and a LOT for the 65. Try to say what you want to say in a minute or less (absolute max of 1min30s). Once you put your recording on loop, you can listen to it over and over again, and this actually forces the info into your brain without you having to think or work too much. After listening to each recording however many times you like, try to write down what you heard. If you can't remember, just keep playing the recording until you've got it memorized.
4) Watch YouTube videos. Please be careful with this one, and make sure you use videos that are up to date (some videos were created years ago and thus pieces of info may not be current). Series7Guru with Dean and PassMasters with Suzy Rhoades are two excellent channels to look into. You never know, these videos may just help you snag an easy point or two on your real test ;)
If you're still here after getting through this humongous post, I wish you best of luck in not just your tests, but your future careers! Take care!

2024.05.29 05:49 TK_BERZERKER [TOMT][Video game][Early 2000s] time travel text based game

There was this game on newgrounds years ago that randomly popped into my head that I can't for the life of me remember the name.
It was a text based game, where this guy went back in time to convince his younger self to ask out the girl of his dreams. If I remember correctly they guy just wanted to go back to drug her and have his way with her. You could choose what to do and get multiple endings. I remember the first choice was wether or not to pop a pimple on the mc's face.
It had a great story with plot twists and I remeber sitting there reading for hours trying to get all the endings. If anybody remembers the name, I'd appreciate it. I wanted to play it again see if the writing withstood the test of

2024.05.29 05:46 Thelittlehamstar (spoilers) I just finished ashlands <3

I want to start by saying that i enjoyed here, i enjoyed all the little things to get here. I've been playing since the boss was yagluth. I have 351 hrs (i know it's not much) but just in case ppl think i speed trough this and then complained ahha.
Now first with the good things:>! I LOVED the entire aesthetic, the music, the new items , the new food and materials that ashland brought, i loved the introduction to ashlands that was literally very fucking scary ,the new customization of weapons with elements, not only for how variated it makes the gameplay but how cool it looks as exhibition pieces. THE NEW MONSTERS WERE AMAZINGLY COOL, from their mechanics to their designs, they were so scary and unsettling, the story was so chilling and had me hyped to search for the next rune (also pls make this spanw maybe close to strategic points i had to lose myself in a few islands to find them all) . I LOVE how now the differnet stars in monsters look very different than i remember, idk if the colors were brightened or they shine more but i was way easier to identify troublesome mobs this time. Loved the addition of the grapes as a new food source to plant at home, not only because it looked amazing but because it was a cool thing to have a passive farming part of your home.!<
>! Also idk if this was just me being so dumb but i didn't notice on my first or second playtrough that there were things hidden under the thrones or between the walls of some towers, i foudn that SO FUN!i had fun destroying the draugr homes to see what they had to offer, also use it as a settlement was so good too, made us understood a lot on how to make bigger and bigger houses (im not as talented as the people posting marvels in this forum). Also i liked the way that scrap piles were more easily destroyed this time around, it really makes the swamp not as tedious as before.!<
i suppose i must continue with the downsides, though it's not much really i still enjoyed myself through and through. First of all i feel the cultists are still somehow randomly placed there, i wish perhaps the caves gave more or straight up they had the eggs so i had more incentive to go raid them. Some items like the staff of fracturing and the dundr were interesting but not really that useful in the end with a few exceptions ( love exploding morgens) and you could say that yeah that's the point you have to have all the options but it feels a bit disappointing when you start cooking up numbers. I think the Dundr is the weapon i loved the most but i wish i had something extra, perhaps an armor to go with that hexmagic route that allows you to reload faster or reload while running so you can get close, shot and run and then use the staff of protection and so. I would happily give away the usage of all of the other staffs for such a combination and the either regen. In the end my partner who played with a meele warrior did way more than me with magic and that did not feel such a way during mistland and i don't know if it was my fault or what, but it felt more balanced on mistlands than ashland for some reason. The flametal ores... God that was so annoying to farm and then they give you all of it mostly in castles so it feels a bit unnecessary? I would much more prefer to siege the fortress for the material than having to fend off charred assholes throwing rocks at me that make me fall to the lava. Not to mention the spawn of things was a bit insane, sometimes there was no creatures for several minutes then we turned around and bam 3 morgens 2 green dogs (i forgot their names) of 1 star following us and a bunch of marksman coming from the lava. It was overwhelming at times.
Quality of life => please have tabs for the different recipes/types of recipes or at least organize them from newest to oldest because having to search for it one by one it's quite annoying when you are in a hurry to get back to battle. X_X
And this is mostly cosmetic issues but i feel the red robes are way cooler than the blue of ashlands?, but i do love the black void with the red eyes , maybe there should be an item that the clothing seller than give me as a final quest for her chests that gives me the possibility to transmog so i chose what i am wearing ? but keeps my stats??. That green cape was horrendous too i didn't feel powerful at all QWQ. The jutes, please for the love of god let me make red jute things like the blue ones and vice versa and maybe let me die threads to make more and maybe different colors?, banners get a bit repetitive after a while. But this is a nothing burger honestly i just really had SOOO much fun with the ashwood decorations i usually hate decorating and building in games but this time OH GOD i went crazy and i had so much fun <3 . Also many items are not able to be exhibited like the bloodstones, jade and even metals i feel it would be cute if we could do that since i could make a metal ore and refined metal exhibition to decorate the forge. On that same note please make the item stands a bit tintier like the ones that go into the table because some items like the circlet or knives look so weird with the big slav of wood behind. same with some items just lying flat like the seal or the swamp key , maybe give the option for them to stand up?. And as a last request that again is literally non relevant PLEASE GIVE US FLOWERS or decorative plants, hedges and bushes. i would kill to have such a thing in game. PLEASE LET US PLANT BERRY BUSHES AS WELL ! i dont care if they take forever to spawn berries but please it's being so annoying since day 1. Also i loved the pots, can we please find a way to paint them or add flowers to them???
Also one question will you keep teasing us with those underwater stairs in the swamp?...please i want to dive....aaaa
Anyway it was just a random rant a smy first post here. Istill 100% love and recommend the game 10/10 would start again when the next biome comes home. Amazing job as always team i love this game <3
red + black feathers COOL
please i just want to have collectibles...
Pls valehim let me put the spice rack in here i need it for magic/witch reasons
Also please let me sleep in the same bed as my husband, how are we supposed to honor odin if we dont give him a son lmao.
pls let me paint the pots PLEASE
my attempt to put flowers outside lmao
I wish the Jute was red on the top as well QWQ!

2024.05.29 05:43 lemoncurd_98 Is Charlotte Somewhat to Blame?

Okay so this sub made me rewatch this series which thank you by the way.
During the trip to New Mexico, I get why Charlotte wanted Bojack to stay. She has a little crush, wants to reminisce, and is able to have a break from the mundane. But having a grown man whom she knew 20 years ago stay in her house? For months with no real boundary as to when he is supposed to leave? And it’s hard to attribute it to Bojack being famous because she knew him before Horsin Around.
Even Penny asked more questions as to why he came to New Mexico to buy a boat. Bojack is definitely to blame for his actions and took advantage of the situation but to give an acquaintance of yours so much access to your children and home is….strange. It gives me the ick more than many other actions of the characters outside of Bojack. The only one topping Charlotte for me is the therapy horse (I forget his name). Maybe I’m blaming her too much idk

2024.05.29 05:39 Eienias20 It's MyGO!!!!! Final Report (Eps 8 - 13)

I cried. A lot. That's all. Goodbye.
I really didn't expect it to continue to peak after episode 7, as in it just kept getting better and more devastating in a lot of ways. In the lead up to 7 and 7 itself it really felt like things were working out but man they went off a cliff right after that. The series was an emotional rollercoaster that hit its lowest point right there.
I mean geez they REALLY put Soyo through it hard in episodes 8 and 9, it was kinda shocking. Finishing my night with episode 9 was a mistake, cause after Anon walked out and hearing Tomori say "I hate bands." before the cut to credits hurt. A lot.
Then episode 10 happened. I feel like if I wanted to, I could talk about Tomori forever. There is so much to say its hard to figure out how to say it. The 3rd episode flashback showed how she's always been quite an oddball, despite that Sakiko really liked her, Taki does and I'd say Anon likes her a lot too. Her being unable to just say what she wants to say, struggling with expressing herself and with confidence she can't find anywhere else except in written word is sad. I wanted to see her succeed so badly for a lot of reasons but mainly because nothing that happened across the entire show was her fault yet she was affected so badly by everything that she blamed herself almost exclusively.
Episode 10 starting with no OP sequence really set the tone for how it'd go and dern did it go. Seeing Tomori her perform alone and eventually with all the band members as they listened to her words and she got to say all the things she never could say was so satisfying and emotional. A payoff that came at exactly the right time. The performance was amazing and so emotionally charged. I watched the episode again the next day and still reacted to everything the same way, it all hit just as hard as the first time. After all of Tomori's comments about herself, her wanting and failing to be human, this episode ending on her crying was perfect.
I don't want any of this to come off as overly positive or praising but I genuinely felt a lot watching this series, I really believe its that good.
11 was just reconciliation and I really appreciated that. Everyone doing that all important thing they need to do: talking to each other. I liked learning that Rana is the Owner's granddaughter, that was a nice touch. She's such an oddball as well, the stray cat. Very notably different from the rest but also looking for a place to belong.
I should talk about Soyo more. Just don't know how to say it, I always thought there was something up with her, I just chalked it all up to stress from dealing with Sakiko and Mutsumi. But getting her flashbacks, her mom barely being around and her instinct to just default to what other ppl want rather than what she wants is also very sad. She's complex to say the least. She loved CRYCHIC, she wanted that back and I can't really blame her for wanting that happiness, esp with the other people just refusing to talk with her and pushing her away.
Despite whatever she planned, after 10 it was clear like everyone else she got attached to the new band. Thorny as she might actually be at times, she wants to be there. I think the picture they took at Soyo's place was the perfect representation of the kind of band they are. Anon made a comment in 11 about it too, they're not ever on the same page, but they are together.
12 was the requisite season concert finale and man, satisfying. After all the trials and tribulations seeing them able to come together and perform so well was fantastic. A small moment of note to me is before they go live, Kasumi gives Tomori her mic and says "Do your best!" agh my heart, MY HEART! (imma watch 12 again after i finish writing this) also their outfits look so cool.
13 doesn't have a lot of MyGO in it, just their final celebration and while I really wish there was more i do like that it leaves them off in a state where you can comfortably believe that they'll be okay. There will definitely be more trials in the future, but they'll face it and get through it and after everything else? That's the best thing to know.
Before this I'd say season 2 of BanG Dream! was my favorite, now hoo boi its really hard to choose. Recency bias is a thing but I can't deny that It's MyGO!!!!! hit every emotional beat I'm sure it wanted to, idk how many times I cried watching it but I did, never afraid to share that.
My favorite anime of all time has 154 episodes. It's quality but its a big commitment to rewatch it. It's MyGO!!!!! has insane quality across its 13 episodes and I wouldn't mind going through all 13 again at any point. My tear ducts might hate me but i'd be happy.
That brings me to the end of watching BanG Dream! content. At least until Ave Mujica happens next year, I'll leave a comment about Sakiko because hooooo boi do I have thoughts. I've enjoyed these last few months watching the seasons, films, specials and playing the game (friend me!) so dern much.
An irl concert was shared with me, that will be the next thing I watch and then after that? Who knows. Maybe hunt some fanfiction or get through the dozens of stories in the game or watch my favorite episodes of the seasons again. All I know is, definitely a big fan and thanks to everyone who read these and commented, its been a blast!

2024.05.29 05:39 NeoHyper64 Arcade1Up won't build it, so I did... Soul Calibur XL is here!

Arcade1Up won't build it, so I did... Soul Calibur XL is here!
Some of you may have seen me drop hints here and there (or a full preview on the Super Gameroom Dudes), but 4 months later, I've finally finished my biggest Arcade1Up mod project to-date:
Arcade1Up NBA Jam Shaq XL is now... Soul Calibur XL!
There's a lot that went into this cab, and I basically built the entire thing 2 or 3 times over because of all the trial-and-error as I used new tools, tried new materials, got measurements wrong, etc. It was FAR more complicated than my prior NeoGeo build, but the results are better, too. Here is where I ended up with what went into this beast.
Cabinet ($600):
  • This started life as a standard Arcade1Up NBA Jam Shaq XL cabinet. I didn't want that game, only the shell. So, I only assembled the frame of it.
Control Panel:
  • The 4-player deck was replaced with a fully custom 2-player deck of my own design. I started with a sloped, Midway-style design, but the angle wasn't comfortable for my height (I'm 6'2"), so I settled on a raised, flat design that felt much better. The whole thing is made of melamine-coated half-inch plywood, so it's super strong.
  • The entire deck slides over the factory frame, and re-uses a modified version of the Shaq XL sub-frame to provide full support from below. I also re-used the factory "shelf" with some adjustments (used spacers to make it higher, and moved the mounting poins out to the sides to allow more room for controls and wiring).
  • There's a piano hinge on the back that allows the deck to open so the joystick and button wiring can be accessed. There's also a wireless keyboard in case the PC needs to be controlled.
  • The top features an acrylic panel that was a bugger to measure and cut, but I finally got a version that's about 1/16-1/32" accurate in every dimension. It also attaches to the deck with 4 bolts, just like the Arcade1Up versions (though it's not strictly necessary, because unlike A1U plexi, I put the panel under the button surrounds like real arcades would do).
Art ($300):
  • I contacted several graphics vendors, but some never responded, and others didn't have any Shaq templates and didn't seem to want to get involved. But I'd used Escape Pod in the past with good results, and they had a Shaq template. They also had a Soul Calibur design they had used for a full-size cab. So, we collaborated, and they produced the custom art package that made this happen, including marquee with plexi, side panels, kick panel, and the entire control panel. They're great!
Monitor ($100), Mount + Bezel ($108):
  • Dell 20" 2007fpb 4:3 monitor came from eBay. It only has a DVI input for digital. Everything was de-cased, and the controls were screwed into the back. It's a great looking monitor!
  • Of course, Shaq comes with a crap 19" monitor, so the Dell is a definite upgrade, but not a 1:1 fit. So, I contacted Gus from Karv Design on Etsy, who had done work on my NeoGeo build, and he came through. He had never done a Shaq cab before, but I gave him the exact dimensions and he custom-built a monitor mount, and black acrylic bezel. I messed a few things, but his stuff was spot on! Can't recommend him highly enough!
Audio ($166):
  • Dayton Audio KAB-2150 2x150w Class D Amp ($30) and power supply ($35)
  • Visaton 3.3" speakers ($30) and grills ($11)
  • Powered subwoofer ($90)... this makes such a difference it's not even funny
  • I wanted a "stock" look with the audio and not get into making a custom panel, so I stuck with the same size speakers, but much better quality and power handling. The amplifier is admittedly overpowered for this project, but it had two, important features that were surprsingly hard to find: external controls AND a dedicated subwoofer output. This had both!
Controls ($86):
  • Industrias Lorenzo Eurostick (x2) ($34 total)
  • Happ Competition Pushbuttons (x16) ($34 total)
  • Easyget (Dragonrise) Zero Delay Encoders ($18)
  • I went through probably dozens of combinations of buttons and switches and ended up with something that has a shorter through and minimal click. I wanted a fast response. For the joysticks, I never considered anything other than ILs.
Games ($162):
  • I started with a Raspberry Pi 5, which WAS capable of running Soul Calibur I and II, but it was finnicky. The controllers would randomly disconnect, AND it has a stupid design that lacks an audio out, so I had to pickup an HDMI audio/video splitter that ended up not outputting the video signal accurately and decreased the audio out level significantly. It also added several extra wires. The Pi setup was a total PITA that cost me nearly $200 with everything it needed (board, case, cables, splitter, power supply, etc.).
  • SO... when DIY Retro Arcade started offering the pre-built Core i5 computer with "no junk" Batocera 38 build ($162), I jumped. And boy, was it worth it! The i5 is so much more capable, not to mention STABLE, and getting rid of the HDMI splitter reduced cable clutter AND improved the audio quality significantly! The Batocera build is really good, too! No junk, and lots of good stuff (yes, every Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, KI, NeoGeo, and other fighting game). This really makes the system.
Special ($152):
  • Faux Coin Door from Arcade1Up ($20)
  • Coin Door Lights from RETRO 530 ($21)
  • Isobar Surge Protector w/ Switch ($105)
  • Control Panel Hinge ($22)
  • LED Strip Light ($6)
Other Materials ($418+):
  • PVC Edge Banding ($20)
  • Melamine Edge Banding ($20)
  • Hand Roller ($9)
  • Side Edge Trimmer ($33)
  • Flush Cut Trimmers ($18)
  • Super 77 Adhesive ($12)
  • Planar Knives ($16)
  • Weatherstripping ($7)
  • L-Brackets ($12)
  • DP to DVI Cable ($12)
  • 12v Power Supply ($9)
  • Various bits, blades, screws, and tools (picked up here and there)... oh, and WOOD! Experimented with lots of MDF, melamine, and acryclic ($250+).
  • And many, many things I ended up not using (t-molding, Pi 5, arcade-spec power supply, lots of buttons, etc.)
Tools (N/A):
  • Some of these tools I had on hand, some I inherited, some I bought. But I used a lot of different stuff... table saw, radial-arm saw, jigsaw, circular saw, drill press, heat gun, iron, hand roller, T-squares, speed square, hand drill, power sander, drill driver, various clamps, X-acto knives, squeegee, various screwdrivers, hammer, tape measures, shop-vac, etc.
TOTAL COST: $2,092 (excluding most tools and everything I bought that didn't get used, or that was thrown out, etc.)

Would it have to cost this much? No. I'm not a woodworker or craftsperson, but I am a perfectionist. So, the two things combined meant everything took longer and cost more than it probably should. But I also don't think you could legitimately do this build for anything less than a grand, unless you happen to have everything you need sitting around (including a PC and monitor) and can get cheap art, etc. All told, it probably cost me at least $2,500 if I include things that didn't make it into the final product.
So, wouldn't it be better to just buy the real thing? That isn't the point. This is "built not bought" kind of thing. I wanted to see what I could do. And I wanted to prove what an XL could be... I think this did both. And I've owned a real arcade machine... tt was heavy, huge, and finnicky. Not again. And either way, good luck finding an original Soul Calibur machine. They weren't made in large numbers.
Why not just build your own? I could, but that also wasn't the point. Building from scratch is a whole other endeavor, whereas using an Arcade1Up means it "inherently" has Arcade1Up-style dimensions and will fit in with my other cabinets. I also just wanted to do something in the XL size.
Why Soul Calibur? It's a legit awesome game. It has a Metacritic score of 98, making it one of the highest scoring games of all time across all platforms and consoles. And it's easy for anyone to start playing. I have lots of fond memories playing on the Dreamcast, but with its very limited arcade exposure, there's less-than-zero chance Arcade1Up will ever make the game.
Why use the Dreamcast version instead of the arcade game? Surprisingly, Soul Calibur originally ran on Namco System 12 hardware, which was an upgrade of the Namco System 11 hardware that itself was based loosely on the original Playstation 1 hardware design. That meant the arcade version of Soul Calibur was actually worse than the Dreamcast version of the game that followed a year later. The Dreamcast version added better visuals and 3D backgrounds, along with a whole bunch of extra features. This was reported to be the first time a console game performed better than the arcade version upon which it was based.
Would you do it again? No, and also no. I proved it was possible and built the game I wanted in the way I wanted. And it plays great and looks cool. But it cost too much time and money. I learned a lot, and that was invaluable, so I recommend it on that level. Practically speaking, however, there's really no justification to do something like this again unless the market just completely fails to produce the products we want.
Anyway, thanks to anyone who made it this far. I have a lot more pics and some video, and am happy to answer any questions. I also want to thank all of the vendors who helped make this happen, as well as the kind words from PDubs and other supporters along the way.
So, now it's your turn, Arcade1Up... bring us the XLs!

From Shaq to the Legend That Will Never Die!

Yes, that's actually a light under the control deck illumuninating downward.

The edge banding on the control panel mirrors the factory A1U edge banding.

Yes, the entire control panel lifts up to access the controls!

The top panel has audio controls, lighting control, and a master power switch.

Behind the marquee is a powerful amp, upgraded speakers, and full tone controls.

Yep, those are Happ ILs (and that's a piano hinge across the back).

The full back section, complete with acoustic stuffing up top and a subwoofer down below. That's a custom shelf for the PC, too.

A look inside showing inside the control panel from the back.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk!

Your meme game is strong , I’ll give you that . Seems we have the same terrible taste in ex partners. I remember seeing you pop up on my Facebook page , briefly, when I was single in 2013. I was sitting in my living room at my parents house “the trap house,” as we called it . Even with an AC unit in my window , it was so hot in my room . We had central air downstairs and I needed to get cool. I had been scrolling and you popped up in my “people you may know,” and I remembered you from high school . My oh my, look at the glow up . You looked AMAZING . I added you and clicked on your page to see you had a girlfriend — she was not like me (we will just say that ) because I have a type , I thought maybe you also had a type . I left you alone then and went on my merry way. Some , seven years or so later , we would come across each other again, this time I would shoot my shot FOR SURE .

2024.05.29 05:37 Zealousideal-Map7106 Cool format for two people

Me and my older brother compete in everything you can imagine together, and we found a cool way to play EAFC having a good, kinda long tournament between us. If you're interested, this was our format:
We take turns to pick teams in the game until we each have 10 teams. Then, I downloaded an app on my phone made for real life football tournaments. In it, I enter the 20 teams with the initial of me or my brother in the name (to distinguish which team belong to which one of us). I put them in a league format and score every game that is between two teams of the same person as 0-0. Now, we play. The app tells us which games to play, until every one of my teams has faced everyone of mu brother's twice. At the end, we add un the points in a FORMULA 1 format (25 for first place, 18 for 2nd, etc...look it up). Whoever adds up to the most points is the EAFC champion.
This format is perfect for casual players like us, we prefer to not have to deal with players missing out for red cards or injuries, and we can play on any console, as the progress is saved on my phone, not in the game. It's also cool to see how underdog teams finish high in the order, revealing things about our play styles we didn't know.
Hope it helps!

2024.05.29 05:36 mister_drgn State monad made my function longer

As I am learning Haskell, I decided to try taking an existing function I had made and modifying it to use the State monad. I won't go into a lot of detail, but basically it's traversing an s-expression graph and adding each sub-expression to a new representation, called a Case. When it adds a sub-expression, it checks whether that sub-expression has already been added, and if it has, it doesn't bother trying to add it again. In my old code, I can use a guard to do that check. In the new code, there's no way to use a guard (I think) because the Case is the state, and thus it is not directly available until I grab it with get. I have to do that twice, since my function is matching over two patterns, and thus the version of the code using the State monad and without guards is considerably longer than the old version.
I'm including the two versions below for reference. I guess my question is--am I missing anything? Is there some trick that would allow me to make my check just once in the State monad version of the function? Obviously, I could take the four lines of code that are being used twice and write a function, so that there's only 1-2 lines of code, but I'm curious if there's a more elegant solution. Thanks for the help.
Old Version (here, parseIt simply returns the Case, i.e., the state...this is simple enough, but it leads to some awkwardness on the last line of the function):
parseExpression :: String -> Case -> Case parseExpression str original_rep = (`parseIt` original_rep) $ S.parseExpression str where parseIt sexp rep hasForm sexp.form rep = rep parseIt S.SEntity{S.term=term} rep = let expr = Expr{etype = Entity, term, form = term} in addExpr expr [] rep parseIt S.SExpression{S.term=term,S.form=form,S.children=myChildren} rep = let expr = Expr{etype = Relation, term, form} newRep = foldr parseIt rep myChildren in addExpr expr (map ((`findForm` newRep) . S.form) myChildren) newRep
New Version (with State monad...this allows me to use mapM at one point, which I think is pretty cool, but it adds lines of code because the guard is no longer possible):
parseExpressionM :: String -> Case -> Case parseExpressionM str = execState (parseIt $ S.parseExpression str) where parseIt :: S.SExpr -> State Case Expr parseIt S.SEntity{S.term=term} = do rep <- get if hasForm term rep then return (findForm term rep) else do let expr = Expr{etype = Entity, term, form = term} addExprM expr [] parseIt S.SExpression{S.term=term,S.form=form,S.children=children} = do rep <- get if hasForm form rep then return (findForm term rep) else do let expr = Expr{etype = Relation, term, form} newChildren <- mapM parseIt children addExprM expr newChildren

2024.05.29 05:34 leaningagainsthemast [SUCCESS STORY] This one is quite unusual. Had me stumped too! 🦋

This is the story of a friend, who confided in me but I'm sharing this with you to illustrate a very important point. Something that not many people will tell you.
So read it till the end.
✨️✨️✨️
This story, which is a 100% true as with evwrything else I've ever written on here, illustrates how The Law exhausts the easiest, least resistant way possible to realize your dreams.
And how, sometimes, that's not something good.
✨️✨️✨️
It all started with a need. A burning need for money. My friend owed some people a lot of money. She never told me before or I would have helped her get out of this pickle far earlier.
But, as usual, she remained unassuming and secretive. Until just yesterday, she showed me the list of creditors, which had more than a dozen names written on it. 😱
Crazy.
I know she's always been impulsive but to do this? I didn't judge her but I was disappointed, ngl, that she never told me what was happening behind the scenes. 😔
Well, she told me this yesterday morning and the following afternoon, while taking a nap, I imagined her telling me over text that she got the money she needed. 🥳
I repeated it a few times. It was hazy as I was VERY VERY sleepy. But as usual, I looped it until I fell asleep.
💤 The nap itself was only 10 mins long.
That was it, really.
🪄✨️ And I did get the text by the evening so I was relieved. But today, she told me the whole truth.
She had stolen the money from her dad, who had very UNEXPECTEDLY came into a big amount of cash! 😱
He brough that cash home yesterday evening and she stole it!
🤔 And the funny thing? The dad doesn't even seem to remember that he ever brought that money in thw first place.
HE DOESN'T EVEN REMEMBER IT, YOU GUYSSS!!!
It seems to have been erased from his mind.
He has no recollectiom of it. But of course, she feels guilty to her very core. That's why she told me this in the first place.
She's my best friend, and we are quite frank with each other, tbh. My heart went out to her when she said to me,
"I am in an emergency or I would never have done this. I'll pay my parents back double this amount. This is just a loan!" 😔
And I trust her. I know that she will.
✨️✨️✨️
But I also understan why this happened.
She only recently confessed to me that she has a habit of steaking stuff. Money, usually. 🫥
Not a big amount. A couple dollars here and there. And mostly she steals it from her dad, she said. She's in college. Doing post grad.
She mentioned her dad knows she takes a couple dollars sometimes without him knowing and he doesn't mind. I dunno how that works though. 🤷🏻‍♀️
🌸 When she revealed this piece of information, that's when it hit me!
Look, she isn't earning right now. She has no personal savings. Not of such a big amount. Neither does she have that many friends or wealthy ass relatives lmao 😂
So, the FIRST possible way for her to get the money, according to me, was for her to do what she's always been doing, as she confessed.
Steal money from her dad.
And her dad getting into that amount of money was also the path of least resistance in her case!
So that's why he got the money in the first place. Otherwise why would he?? Their family is barely making ends meet afterall! And they have a humble little shop in the suburbs.
🤔 But now, you'll ask, DOES THIS MEAN THERE WAS NO OTHER WAYY FOR THE LAW TO MANIFEST THE MONEY??
Well, here's where I want to build on my previous post!
🪄 Of course there was a way other than thia. There could have been COUNTLES number of ways this could have been manifested. DUH 🙄
But for that to happen, she'd have to resist her urge to steal. If she hadn't stolen the money, then after a couple of days, another opportunity would have risen!
I am 100000% sure of it!
But since it was easier for her to resort to unethical means, second nature even, then thay's what ended up happening!
✨️✨️✨️
And since I wasn't aware of this habit of hers, it wasn't my belief either, before any of you pounce on me like hungry kittens lmao 😂
✨️✨️✨️
Well, there you go. I wanted to share this story with you to illustrate one VERY IMPORTANT POINT -
Never lie or cheat or steal. Not even as a joke. Try to stay away from any of these things. Because these open pathways for you, that might get you your styff easily in the beginning but, when it'll truly matter, you won't be able to resist your urge.
Like my friend couldn't.
✨️✨️✨️
I hope this story helps clear some questions for you, questions you didn't even kmow you had.
Until next time,
R A I N ☔️

2024.05.29 05:34 VeterinarianDry7713 Just venting

I'm just trying to finally get all my feelings off my chest because I feel like I've been letting them build too long. This breakup is between me (obviously), a upcoming highschool senior and my ex who just graduated. It's a long story so I'll get started now. Basically my ex(18F) and I(16M) had been dating for a year and half. (I know since it's a highschool relationship not many people take it seriously and think it was doomed from the start but it dosent invalidate the way I feel). I thought I approached our relationship carefully as I made sure to set boundaries and set our relationship in mutual values, respect, communication, and integrity. For a year it was all smooth sailing and I truly loved this girl. Our relationship became a lot more rocky this march however as I noticed she wouldn't respond to me for days at a time and spend time with her friends rather than me. I communicated this problem and she said she would do better but never did. Things got worse into April where she went to prom with her friends with me. I once again communicated how I was deeply hurt by what she did and she basically tried to tell me that it wasn't that big of a deal. She alo asked me why it was suddenly an issue as opposed to before and I told her "what am I supposed to do when my family thinks your cheating on me" she then said she would never cheat on me and that I had a lot of work to do to fix her reputation after I thought we communicated to resolve the issue. She then spent the next week asking for her 3ds that I had borrowed back and after I gave it back to her on Friday. She then dumped me that weekend over text citing that it was because of college (fair enough) and my family's opinion of her over the whole prom thing. I saw her at school over the next few days and made no attempt to speak to her as I felt betrayed by what she had done and respected myself too much to make an effort. It wasn't until about 2 weeks after our breakup that I learned she was with a new guy (who happenend to share my name) that I connected the dots. She had told me this guy had been texting her about 2 months before our breakup and that she had blocked him and wanted nothing to do with but obviously she was cheating on me with him.
To sum up my thoughts, I feel like an idiot for letting her do that to me. I feel like I was too forgiving. I feel taken advantage of as she graduated as a valedictorian because of our joint efforts (I helped her significantly with assignments and tutored her) and me having to keep her mental state stable constantly. I feel insecure because she left me for a man who shares the same name as me and play in a band. I feel like a fool for trying to make sense of this when I should really be forgetting and moving towards with my life. I feel like my ex is truly an evil person for what she did (she even texted me recently once she heard about what happened to deny the cheating allegations). I feel like every time I make progress towards moving on something always drags me back. I feel oddly prideful that I truly loved her for her and not what she did for me or what she provided me.
There's so much more she did that I could write a book about it but at that's point it's just excessive. I know what I have to do to move forward is to forget her and remember the lesson. Do the things I love and enjoy, and have fun. But it's just nagging me how poorly I was treated.

2024.05.29 05:32 Rod-The-Man3821 [14M] Sup, I'm looking for long term friends to put it simply

(long read)
Hope you're having a good, morning, afternoon, evening, night. I've made a post here before, but I hope to catch the attention of maybe one more.
I'm finished with my academics for the year, and trying to find more people my age i.e. (14 almost 15, barely turned 15). I live in the USA, so I also advice if you are on the other side of the world it would be difficult to keep track of time to talk.
Now with the boring stuff out of the way, to sum me up I like talking about anything, and interacting. I also will respect any of your time, and if you are doing something. I just got into PC gaming, and doing cool shit with my computer. I'm also into alt rock and 90's/00's hip-hop.
Only dm me if you want to actually be friends, and Ive already had a few pedos so dont think your slick. Otherwise don't bother, and ill probably ask for your discord if your cool. Thanks for your time everybody.

2024.05.29 05:31 podini Distance vs. Time in Zepp App?

I am admittedly a noob to my amazfit bip 3, so I apologize in advance if I’m missing something super simple, but this is driving me crazy… is there not a way to see your distance at certain time points in the app? It shows every other metric (pace, HR, etc.) throughout the duration of my run, but I can’t seem to figure out how to see what time I hit, say, a half mile.
For example, if I do a 0.5 mi warm up, 3 mi tempo run, and 0.5 mi cool down, I’d like to see my times at 0.5, 1.5, etc., to get my splits. The thing has to be able to do this… right?

2024.05.29 05:26 IssueofApollo HOW TO CHANGE YOUR NETFLIX AVATAR / ICON / PROFILE PICTURE TO CASTLEVANIA ICONS (DRACULA, TREVOR, ALUCARD) [GUIDE]

These are Castlevania Netflix icons made available as part of the limited \"Netflix and Chills\" collection (October, 2018).
Before I include the steps, I would like to give a few thanks. Some of you may know that I started this mission to find a way to get these icons a few days ago a while back. It took a bunch of work, posting on Facebook groups, Reddit, Twitter, desperately asking for people to help, haha. Well here we are. Thank you u/Sartana for getting the ball rolling by giving me the unique ID of Dracula. Thank you u/sublimeme for providing us with Trevor's. Thank you @insightsoda (Twitter) for helping us get Alucard's. And thank you u/N313intruder for helping me ask around once you were made aware of my mission, haha, and successfully helping me get the icons I would have missed.
Well, that's it. Here's what you need to do to be able to change your Netflix avatar to these icons (taken and altered from u/TaylorSwiftAddicted's guide):
* Be sure to turn off VPN before attempting as some people are having trouble with them on *
  1. You will need to be on Microsoft Edge or Chrome to do it.
  2. You will need to temporarily install this extension to help you change it. Should you worry about whether or not it is safe to install, it has over 2 million users, and is made by Facebook. You can remove this extension after you have changed the icon, should you wish.
  3. Go to https://www.netflix.com/ManageProfiles, and navigate to the page where you can change your profile icon.
  4. Open the React Developer Tools by right clicking anywhere on the page and choosing 'inspect'.
  5. At the top of the developer tools, you will find a tab named 'Components'.
  6. On the left inside this Components tab, you will see a bunch of rows of things. Click on the first row that says 'LolopiIcon'.
  7. Now on the right side, you will see a bunch of information about the icon. Next to 'icon' there is an arrow, click it to expand the information inside icon.
  8. Inside 'icon' is an 'id'. This is the one we will need to change. Double-click on the value to the right of 'id' so you can edit it.
  9. Replace it with the unique ID of your desired icon. In our case, the IDs are as follows: Dracula: "AVATAR0c531682-c1ea-11e8-a863-1204ac6e63e2enMX81029379" Trevor: "AVATAR0c52c863-c1ea-11e8-a863-1204ac6e63e2enMX81029379" Alucard: "AVATAR0c5364a0-c1ea-11e8-a863-1204ac6e63e2enMX81029379"
  10. Back in your browser on the edit profiles page, click the very first icon on the screen (this would normally be the first icon in your history of past icons used). This icon is the one we just set a new ID on. Don't worry, it didn't overwrite this icon and you can still change back to this icon in the future, should you wish.
  11. After you click, you will be shown a prompt about whether or not you want to change. This will not yet show your desired icon under 'new'. Click let's do it.
  12. You will now be shown another prompt about whether or not you want to save your profile settings. Again, it will not show your desired icon yet. Click 'save'.
  13. You should now have your desired icon! And yes, this change would be reflected on all devices.
Have fun!
ALSO, if it's not working, try following these steps, but it really should work.

2024.05.29 05:26 foreverashleyelle The Passion of Cooks: Stove Legend of Syracuse

I’ll be honest, if it wasn’t for the war on hip hop that B.Dot’s controversial end of year list caused, I may have never heard this album. Per usual, his selection of artists naturally created cultural discord leaving many steadfast in disagreement. As I witnessed the contention on various social channels, and the numerous opinions of its sequence, this album regardless of its placement, was undoubtedly included.
By the title, I was interested, and taken after the first listen. Immediately, the biblical mockery at its commencement was more than enough to occupy my attention. I could not believe what I was hearing. This wasn’t the usual inclusion of an artist's personal faith walk in music, but rather the tone of a self appointed godhead taking his sovereign position. It was his passion, and his candid incivility towards the church's consecration. Rolls Royce Break Lights, and it’s exuberant production acting as the album’s prelude, setting the atmosphere for Cook’s word.
“I’m the truth, I’m the light, I’m the way”
Bread of Life was a swift change in tone, settling the congregation in their seats while Cook’s reasoned his wise tales. This song was delivered with the posture of an expert, detailing his past in a way that tantalized those who’ve never walked in his shoes, finding the treasure that he did. He had glory and knew it, and in his unapologetic jovial tone, made sure we knew as well. This was an episodical account of events that placed him in such a position of opulence. I listened closely.
“Out of all these rap niggas, I’m the goldest, 24 karat glow, my soul lit”
It was beautifully irreverent, the robe of a street priest and the honesty of his unabashed life experiences proving to be more potent than any scriptural teachings. A master at his craft, rap and otherwise making his hustle a joyous, celebratory occasion. A pronounced success separate from one found in the lust of the music business. In the album, Cooks, regardless of whether he ever released music, was already successful. This was his version of the American dream, manifested in a way that supersedes the road more traveled, and the prerogative that way affords you.
By Crosses, he was loud and clear as the dark, ominous production ensured that we understood him. In it was a vulnerable frustration, standing firm in his belief, and the inevitable position he would take in hip hop. He wasn’t looking for acceptance, or a welcoming of any kind. Nor was this an attempt to alert the culture of his plan to capture the coveted crown; he had one already. His position was unlike any other, blatantly disrupting the culture’s comfort zone and deriding its slumber to his advantage.
As I replayed this track, I heard something different every time. More passion, and also to my surprise, his lyrics working in concert with scripture. Personally, I find religion a travesty, and regardless if that conclusion stems from my own experiences or not, it is a dangerous falsehood usually consumed by those left void by life’s noncompliance. However, similar to Matthew 7:13, Cooks sermonizes the inevitable ruin associated with the sacrifice of fame, even if that notability is found in street life. In the mood of Crosses was Cook's inveterate position firmly planted on his own conquests.
“Face it, Feds gave us a pop quiz and we aced it, don’t let ‘em tangle up your laces”
Aside from the greatness of the album’s entirety, this song was a magnum opus of its own. A detailed account of his rising, the culmination and even the lucre of his choices; however, so richly nestled in ascendancy. Do I think he’s suggesting his listeners partake in street life? I doubt it, but rather to run your own course, at your pace, all while being mindful of its enmity. I think in the manner of Cook’s story telling more highlights the self determination esteemed to those of personal triumph. That even in drug related subject matter, his message balances the consequence of his ways of life, but also its predestined victory.
“I’m thinkin’ when this shit over, what happened to your soul”
Another well favored track, Gloria Blemente and it’s flirtatious tone. Cook’s skillful, endearing honesty made it one I’m sure the ladies of his fan base relished as much as I did. This was the sincerity of the one that makes you smile though you’re upset with him. The one whose lifestyle scares you, though not enough to leave. The hustler, or king of the city reigning in the splendor that often blinds your better judgment. This was dope boy romance, in the scintilla of charm he can afford while his guard remains high. Overall, as the consequences of his decisions loom, you stay because he means well. We’ve all been there, and despite the circumstance, he brings a new woman out of you, and you like it.
For every song, a highly cinematic thread binding them together and this was no different. A gentleman to his sound, lively yet relaxed in the delivery knowing his own knighthood. A craftsman that has used the dignified autonomy of his life for justifiable self righteousness. Who could stop him, or for a second, attempt to discredit his past being the fuel to his freedom; the freedom he deemed necessary. Enamored with his confidence, I couldn't help but ponder the genesis of such personal sovereignty. This wasn't the incipient album of a new artist with apparent trepidation. This was a master class, a sermon of godship carefully crafted to the internal betterment of its hearers. Also, a candor contrary to his seemingly enigmatic nature. Not much social media, hardly a collection of interviews, but the roots of the culture allowing the constitution of his word to live on its own. The perfect literary conveyance complementing the legendary production of Roc Marciano; all the makings of an artist ahead of his time. This album, a bar of excellence unable to be contained by any list, but rather a well sequenced screenplay perfected in lyrical audacity. The story of destiny's obstacle course he conquered with ease at every turn. Today's Illmatic.
Like many of us, he could clearly see the deficit in the culture, not only by the name of the album, but also its content. This time, it was his decision, not that of the industry to extend an invitation. This was his principle, and in the savor of this album came a cosmic shift in rap and life that, like the word of God, teaches to find joy in indignation. This was a law of personal liberty found in those who have persevered despite their circumstance, and the celebration of it. Isn't this what we all strive for? Shouldn't this be our dream? That self sufficiency reigns, and in friction we find our way with a fuck you as comely as Cooks forthright character. Him audaciously choosing a self belief rather than the force fed pious concept of a savior; Cooks being his own. I appreciate that, as many are deceived by the manipulative ways of the church, neglecting the detriment to the believers. Maybe that’s why I enjoyed Cooks disposition and not so much the religious undertones of other albums. In life, we often decide so ignorantly to believe in the numinous ways of a divine being, and that somehow those teachings will abate our own inherent experiences. What about those unafraid to apply the word until we see the gravity of it in our predestination? Maybe until we reign and our word, or our law drives the course of our fortune. Isn’t that true faith? If so, that faith is exemplified in this album regardless of anyone’s consent. What if beauty for ashes truly comes when you construct it? What if we are wholly “free indeed” when we’ve run through the ribbon at the place we marked?
“Why you think they call this shit a race cause it’s a fuckin race bitch, and they made you believe that you ain’t even racin”
What if our firmest victory arrives when we can feed our families without lack after the suffering of perpetual poverty? Isn’t that joy in the morning? In life, there is no instruction manual and many of us bear adversity despite good doing. Out of that is often born a frustration that fuels us to circumvent the supposed road of truth until we find our own. That’s what I hear in this album. I’m unaware of Cook’s personal reasons for his jarring, highly derisive religious context but I understand my own. Reasonable Drought was evidentiary support to the subjective matter of success. The real drought in my opinion, is the deficiency of those bold enough to speak like him, and win how they see fit.
I commend Cooks for his valor, for his own way, and his refusal of conformity. This album was sexy defiance, the sonic display of power, finding the source of it in self; like we all should. As the film played in my mind and the soundtrack in my ears, I thought of what I'd say to him if we ever crossed paths. I'd ask him of the origin of the church's mockery, then tell him of my own, and how I fancy it. Also, how his candid example was not only enjoyable, but a requisite in my own life. Reasonable Drought was a word of law and life, a reminder to stand tall in our own podium and swiftly part with those who oppose our gospel. This was a master's truth, the sanctimonious cape of an expert that had studied the genres entrance and exit points to be had at his convenience.
"Don't mention me with with them, they irrelevant, let me settle this"
Overall, I enjoyed this album thoroughly, but more so, the underlying principles I found in it. This was the tutelage of a maestro, the guardianship for a people who need the acquired taste of achievement. Whether you take his path or not, the one you select will only be conquered by the same fortitude and determination Cook’s displays in his distinguished literary masterpiece. Maybe you didn’t take away what I did, that’s arbitrary, but I encourage any listener to extrapolate the ingenuity in this amazing body of work whether you agree with it or not.
By my third listen, I made a small change making Cocaine Cologne the last song. It was the benediction, the climax to his life symphony, and the orchestra as the curtains close. At the time of this writing, Cook's latest singles Run It Up and That's the Game play simultaneously on heavy repeat, and like his album, I'm once again charmed by his elegant, well poised delivery. Another movie, the one with the entrancing villain we're all rooting for, with a lyrical prowess over more phenomenal production. In the opulence of Cook's charismatic music is hope. A resetting of the roots of hip hop, and adding to the bulldog annexation of upstate New York's position in the culture. In his music, Cook's personal ascension is evident and well celebrated. This album was the relatable gospel to be only digested by those willing to risk it all in their own permissive pursuits. His story is one to believe, the plan to get to the money, or whatever your lust, and the celebration of self in every meantime. Personally, with my own futile religious experiences, and Cook's discourteous backdrop of it, the music was introspective self enjoyment. His versatility, originality, along with his ability to play with melody while keeping the integrity of the culture intact. A legend indeed.
"You gotta visualize it moving when the shit won't, and let the non-believers that jumped off the bitch go. Then you flex floatin by em in the big boat, screaming better kick your legs harder nigga big strokes"

2024.05.29 05:26 BaskerRubbnits I know a lot of us want mechs to be better, but how about we make it a bit more interesting?

There have been plenty of posts around of people wanting to have a stratagem call in or something along the lines to be able to refill the mechs, for good reason! They're fun, and really good at their strengths (shredding through chaff and medium armor, with the occasional heavy at a hefty ammo cost) but eventually the bullets run dry and fun hose stops delivering fun at 6000 rounds/min.
Once the bullets run out, mechs aren't much more than a really expensive decoy, or maybe a slightly faster way around the map for heavy armor enthusiasts, and with a hefty cooldown, there can be considerable time between the fun. We've had countless posts at this point asking for either buffs to the mechs to make them stronger for the short uptime or to make their uptime better by way of being able to resupply their ammo. I'm personally in favor of the latter, as its both in line with other stratagems (support weapons, other than EATs, have long cooldowns but can be fed by ammo/resupply bricks between cooldowns) and you get to spend more time doing the fun, blasting the shit out of bugs/bots in a big ol mech.
To borrow from a favorite youtuber of mine, I'll go over what (I think) we could do, then go over why we do it.
This is a multi part system, partially to leave room for it to interact with other vehicles/stratagems in theory
  1. Vehicle resupply stratagem
  1. Vehicle specific "stratagem codes"
Currently you cannot use stratagems while piloting a mech, this was something you could do in helldivers 1, but this would not interfere with that should they give us the ability to do so again.
All put together it converts the mech's (and potentially other future vehicles) to pseudo team weapons, incentivized to have some teamwork, but serviceable alone.
Its not super free either, someone has to take a stratagem and dedicate a backpack slot to it (granted, you could just not call in the pack until you need it, but dealer's choice in that regard), so I don't think it would push vehicles too too out of line, but still allow for mech enjoyers to be able to lean harder into using their mechs
As a team, you would have
  1. Pilot opening up ammo rack for loading
  2. Teammate slamming ammo into the arm
  3. Weapon is reloaded, back to blasting liberty's enemies
As a lone diver, it would be slower, yes, but still workable
  1. While in mech, open up ammo rack
  2. Hop out of mech
  3. Load ammo into arm
  4. Hop back into mech
  5. pew pew time
Part of the reason I want to make these as pseudo team weapons and slightly more involved than just "walk up and press button" resupply is because I really enjoy how fun the teamwork feels in this game, some of the most fun I've had running with buddies is backpack swapping for support weapons. A duo with a Recoilless Rifle and Airburst rocket launcher carrying each other's backpacks can handle a helluva lot that the bugs can throw at you. With the mech resupply being the way that it is, you can handle resupplying by yourself during the lulls in the mission, but with teamwork you can theoretically pull this kinda thing off even in the middle of a horde.
The other part is Captain Mifune's last stand from the Matrix Revolutions, its a cool clip and I think it encompasses what I'd like to see for the mechs (I'll see if I can find a decent video or somethin on youtube), and I think perfectly encompasses the thrill of pulling off a mid-horde reload for your buddy in the mech. Yea its a cart in the clip, not a backpack, but I think a cart would run into too many issues with terrain, having a giant ass backpack would be a little less clunky I think, at least for the players, in universe god that thing would be a hefty weight on a diver's back.
Probably pretty batshit stupid all in all, but I think it would be a nifty way to make mech's and other future vehicles resupply-able, I have no idea if/how this would impact balance for vehicles, nor do I know if it would even be possible to implement, but it sure as shit would be a lot of fun I think.

2024.05.29 05:26 AutumnFanatic [22/M4A] #Online - Hi! Nerdy person looking for any gender (inc. NB etc) people 18-23 interested in forming a genuine intimate connection

Why did the farmer drive his tractor to the pharmacy? He wanted to visit the farm-assist!
Hi and welcome to my post! Wanted to start off with a funny to me dad joke.
Nice to meet you, I'm Dylan! To put it simple, I am a single 22 year old person who has been pretty lonely in life and lacking human connection. Any gender is welcome :) part of what comes with that is the desire to be intimate with a person. I am very mature for my age and will always be respectful of your boundaries and feelings, especially with anything sexual. Lately all I have is myself when it comes to sexual desires, so I would like to have someone to keep company with in that regard too. And I've also been fairly horny lately so perhaps if you are too we can help each other.
I'm just relaxing at work tonight as it's a slow day. Thinking about going home and burning a woodwick candle. I love candles! 🕯️ Sometimes a campfire outside on a fall night or a crackling WoodWick candle is a relaxing constant among our busy and hectic world. It's nice to just disconnect, feel grounded and happy in your own little cozy space. Feeling calm and collected and at peace. Something that fewer people take the time to do these days.
I am seeking a woman around my age or older to build a close connection with that could possibly lead to a something intimate which includes the possibility of teasing/sharing pics etc. but only when we were comfortable. Figured I would be open in my Intentions as that's the best way to be.
You:
Kind, respectful, and easy going.
Comfortable with the idea of eventually sharing intimate things together.
Willing to eventually move off of Reddit.
Want something genuine and fun!
Are honest in your intentions and a good person to be around!
That's about it, we will get along great I know it.
I've been feeling a little bummed out lately. I always try and stay happy and see the best in things. But.. I've just been so alone. Most of my whole childhood and adult years have been spent feeling lonely. I grew up surrounded by cornfields which was peaceful but also has a lonely aspect to it. My family never really were close and never did anything as a family really. And part of it too is the fact that I never had any neighbors my age to interact with. But aside from that, my adult life has been very lonely. I'm just always by myself. I barely have any meaningful adult relationships or experiences, or even any friends.
I work a 3-11 job in building maintenance at my company world headquarters building which I love, but again it's very lonely. I work the off shift so the building is always empty. I don't get normal social interaction with people my age or a chance to build relationships. I only have 3 older men as co-workers and we are mostly in the basement away from any people on the floors from knowing our existence. I always walk the floors and see office people laughing and chatting with their coworkers and I just don't have that kind of experience. And just.. no one knows I exist really. Everyone probably assumes I have a lot of friends, but I'm struggling inside with being so alone and trying to meet people and get past the "hi how are you?" "I'm good thanks" stage. Most people don't seem to want to talk beyond that. And most women are already in relationships and thus it would seem weird to approach them in an office setting trying to get to know them deeper. But man those "hi how are yous" are the only real interactions I get during my day.. so thus I decided to come here lol. Rant over, sorry! I promise I'm not a downer. 😅
Now for some things about me!
I am left handed which is pretty cool. I'm not much of a party person or a drinker, I much prefer a quiet night at home and maybe a beer or two on a weekend but that's about it. I am simple and stay out of drama and trouble and don't get much into politics or other things that cause drama with people. I much prefer a relaxing campfire and a night at home and to just let the world keep on turning haha.
Physically I'm 180 pounds, have brown hair, green eyes, and a typical build. There's a few pictures on my profile.
Some of my hobbies are:
• Photography
I have a Nikon D200 and D5500 that I love to shoot with. I love nature scenes, abstract, black and white/goth kinda photography, sunsets, etc. it's so fun to just let your mind explore. It's not about what camera you have, but those who are behind the camera!
• Cooking and baking
I loveeee to cook and bake! I enjoy making various meals but also love to just have a frozen pizza once in awhile or something like that. I recently made homemade chili which turned out great. I love to bake, especially in the fall! I love pies, cakes, pastries, cookies, etc. I restored a vintage KitchenAid mixer that needed tbe gearbox rebuilt. Eventually I would love to practice home canning my own food.
• Music
Oh my gosh, I like so much!! Alternative rock, punk, post punk, electronic, synth pop, psychedelic rock, hard rock, etc. I am very non judgemental and open when it comes to music. My three current favorite bands are Type O Negative, Joy Division, and the Cure.
• Nature walks and camping
I really enjoy camping, making fires, and relaxing by a campfire. I love to take walks outside and just enjoy the beauty and simplicity of nature. It's wonderful, especially in a world so focused on everything digital.
• Repairing things
I'm a maintenance guy and one of my hobbies is electronics repair so I am good with my hands and just all around good at troubleshooting and fixing all sorts of things around the house. Last week I helped my elderly neighbor get his tractor started, it needed a new component in the starting circuit. So I'm pretty handy which... Comes in handy! 😂
• Autumn 🍁
This isn't a hobby per say, but man do I love the fall!!! It's my absolute favorite time of the year. Oh my gosh. The beautiful colors, crisp cool air, misty and foggy days, rain, lack of bugs, being cuddled up with a candle or by the fire drinking a tea, etc. I love it! There's only two seasons for me. Fall, and waiting for fall! Haha.
• Scented Candles and incense
Going along with my love for fall, I absolutely love candles! I have like 30 something lol. 😂 Currently my favorite are WoodWick, which are owned by Yankee candle. They have such a soothing crackle and the scents are great! I also love to burn incense from time to time as well. I have cottagecore hippie vibes.
• Old houses and architecture
I love old houses! Especially 1900s and Victorian era homes. Old homes have so much character to them and are just so beautiful from a time when people took pride in their craft. I strongly dislike the modern cookie cutter cheap construction of homes today. I would love to live in an old home one day. I also love their architecture and uniqueness, as well as architecture of old cathedrals and other buildings.
• Relaxing
Basic I know, but sometimes on the weekend I just love to get cozy in bed and relax and put on a YouTube video or an album! 😊
That's about it for me, I'm a pretty laid back and simple person. My ideal person is someone who is respectful and honest! I am very straightforward and open minded and would hope that you are as well.
If I seem interesting to you at all I would love to hear from you!
Thank you so much for reading.

2024.05.29 05:25 CletusThaFetus69 I just want to know if I am correct in labeling my parents narcissists or not

I just want confirmation my parents are narcissist.
So... my mom has never really been loving. My dad had/had PTSD. It is his way or the highway. My mom will straight up tell people "I learned to ignore him", "I never wanted another kid, I should've got my tubes tied after the first one, his dad is the only reason I didn't get an abortion". She will buy me things, and then when i'm telling her she is acting horribly yelling at me for something minimal (not writing a note in the cashapp for example) and then say "I wasn't treating you horribly when I bought you this thing earlier!!"
I don't remember the last time I got a hug from either one of my parents.
My parents never actually helped me get my license, they claim they "Tried to teach me!!" but got about 20 driving hours for me, refused to fill out the time sheets, and would yell and freak out at every mistake I made on the road. They bought me a barely driveable $900 grandam @ 18 after I was told i'd get a new car when I graduated (I am 22 and graduated in 2020) I was expecting like a decent condition 2007-2008 car that would reliably get me from point a to point b but was bought a 2002 wrecked grandam with hood latches due to deer wreck damage and struts so bad that the back end would slide out from under it on minimal potholes and tires that I had the fill back up daily to keep it off the ground. $900 car that required $2000 worth of repairs. I had to eventually buy my own car (they never helped me fix it depaite my dad being a literal jet mechanic) and drive it back and forth from work illegally until I got good enough at driving to get my license, because it was apparently easier for my mom to continue driving me to work on her lunch break and picking me up from work at 7 then to spend a few weekends and hours after work some days with me preparing for a drivers test. They then sold the car randomly and were planning on pocketing the money until I told them hell no that was my 18th birthday gift and that was my money.
Both my mother and my dad would get physically aggressive and spank pretty excessively but not to the point where I was like "this is abuse". As I grew older and grew to be a bigger teenager it turned into them moreso actually trying to physically fight me, me running as to avoid a fight as they yelled things like "I'M GOING TO RIP YOUR F***ING HEAD OFF" and locking myself in my room or running around outside until they were no longer violently angry.
One time I got a full blown blender thrown at my shoulder as a kid because I didn't help my dad find his shoes when he was late to meet some of his work friends, he also in that instance chased me a quarter way down our street (thankfully I was like 16 5'10 and fast) before going home and cooling down.
One time he also threw a tape measure at my shin and I still have a mark in my shin bone from that.
Lots of promises that were never kept and were forgot about. "If you help me with this massive months long hard process I will buy you shing expensive thing" helps and never gets said thing but gets yelled at the whole time for not doing things "the right way"
My mom also called me ugly as a kid, told people in front of me (and I quote) "Yeah I was pissed when he came out with red hair, i don't like red heads!"
She would tell people I was a little bastard and would tell them the amount of adhd medication I was on and how it was enough for like 2 adults (i already started questioning why the hell I was on that amount of adhd medication in the first place, i was basically m37hed out on adderall and vyvanse and concerts as a 7-14 year okd kid)
One time she bought me a pokeball as a kid at walmart, and our way home I did something she didn't like and she grabbed the pokeball and chucked it out the window and bragged to people about it
One year my brother got a laptop and an ipod and some other stuff and ya boy got some action figures
My mom thrrows a fit that I don't "contribute in the house" or clean when I stick to my area of the house, don't use the kitchen or dishes (i have my own dishes I use and I eat out mainly so i don't have to deal with them) and don't created that messes that need to be cleaned up and I keep my areas of the house clean. I could probably go count 7 wrappers and 6 pop cans and 3 plates down on our kitchen bar right now and I do not spend any time in the kitchen but I am apparently supposed to clean that stuff up as well as do the dishes that I don't use.
My dad will say "Here i'll tell you what you need to do" and if I do anything other than agree with him he will say "well then you're f***int stupid"
My dad would get violently angry at you if there was a tiny piece of lettuce in his taco or anything but meat and cheese on his burger and if you laugh at him for how ridiculous he is reacting he redirects that anger and amplifies it towards you
My parents and brother would kinda gang up and do things that would "trigger" me and laugh and yell at me when I reacted badly.
I just want confirmation that this is narccisism. I've been looking for what to call my experience with my parents for a while and I think this is it.
