2024.05.16 04:23 Ok_Web_1877 Review: Dorky Girl GETS REVENGE On Hot Guy, What Happens Is Shocking

Intro:
Today I am reviewing what I believe to be the most disappointing Dhar Mann video of all time. It had potential, I was invested... then Dhar Mann just completely fumbled it. Expect me to get more scathing and frustrated as this review goes on.
This is also a weird twilight zone moment because Azeem, who famously salvages bad Dhar Mann videos, is one of the main contributors to what made this video awful (His character I mean, not Azeem himself).
Review:
Our story begins in the school theatre. Auditions are happening, and our titular dorky girl, Julie (Cecily Dowd), nails it. She does so well, in fact, that the heads of the drama club close up all remaining auditions for that role. That's pretty fucking mean if you ask me. Next up is our titular hot guy, Chase, a jock who hates being a jock. His audition sucks, and the coaches tell him that he's not getting the role.
What the fuck is going on here? Cutting off an audition early is one thing, but outright telling somebody they're not getting the part??? This is like the inverse problem with the tryouts for Bookside's Football team I covered last week. Between this and dismissing all people who haven't auditioned for Julie's role yet, this is super unprofessional.
Disheartened, Chase goes to the back of the theatre to sit with his unnamed narc friends (Azeem Vecchio and Nathan Ing. Knowing that it's these two good actors in this role makes this video just...). We learn that Chase knows he sucks, but he needs to get a role, otherwise his dad will make him play baseball again. We get a namedrop of Chase's bitch of a girlfriend, who blew him off to go shopping. Julie comes by and gives her condolences to Chase. Once she walks away, the narc friends make fun of her, and Chase gets a call from Bitch bitching about shopping or some bullshit. She verbally abuses him and also insists that he sticks to baseball.
Wow, a sympathetic protagonist! This is rare in Dhar Mann. Chase is a good guy, but he's manipulated by an abusive dad and a controlling girlfriend. It doesn't help that his friends suck too.
We cut to lunchtime at school the next day, and typical Dhar Mann plot contrivances occur. The male lead (the role Chase tried out for) turned down the part because he got cast on Broadway... you didn't have to go that far for an excuse Dhar Mann lmao. Oh but the contrivance gets even worse, because apparently the directors are giving Julie full power over who the male lead will be... Excuse me?
Why are the directors letting some random student decide this? This is especially contrived considering we saw how unprofessional and absolutist they were earlier... what the fuck. Anyway, narc friends pressure Chase into doing yet another bad thing: manipulating Julie into casting him by pretending to be romantically interested. This is made even worse by the fact that Julie has had a crush on Chase since they were little. That's fucked up, narc friends. They at least made Chase sympathetic enough to understand why he went along with this.
I have to give it to Chase here, because he doesn't outright ask Julie for the role or even pressure her to give it to him. He approaches her asking to help him get better. He's sincere in his compliments to her about how great her singing and acting is. He gets her number, and they arrange to hangout and practice together. So far, Chase isn't in the wrong yet.
We cut to the next day, in the theatre, where Chase is auditioning by reading a scene with Julie. Once again, I have to give a Dhar Mann video credit on something. It's annoying how his videos always repeat the message of the video word for word, but here, the message is stated in a fictional play that these are reciting. That's a bit more clever if you ask me, and MUCH more tolerable. Nevertheless, the directors are not impressed with Chase. They ask to speak with Julie in private... why? They've already been so mean to Chase right to his face, why hold back now lmao. In any case, the directors really don't like Chase, and Julie, at least for a moment, begrudgingly resolves to tell him he's not getting the part.
Julie tries to let Chase down lightly, and this is where Chase finally enters "in the wrong" territory. In a last ditch effort to keep his shot at landing this role, he lies to Julie by telling her that he likes her. Leaning on somebody who likes you to improve at something? Sure. Having them help you audition with their endorsement? Fine. Lying to them to manipulate them into nepotism? That's wrong and messed up. He even lies to Julie and tells her that him and Bitch broke up. Unfortunately, Julie falls for all of this, and overrides the director's decision.
We cut to Chase hanging out with Bitch at some salon. She never shuts the fuck up until Chase mentions Julie in passing. Chase... buddy... you fuck up here... He tells Bitch about his master plan to manipulate Julie. Why do characters in Dhar Mann snitch on themselves so fucking much?!
Julie and Chase are reading lines that mimic their situation a little too closely. That in itself is fine, I just reaaaally hope that they don't break the 4th wall (and insult our intelligence) by acknowledging this. Chase and Julie start genuinely bonding and it's actually an immersive romance for once. They find out they have so much in common and we see a spark form. Even having watched this before, I genuinely forgot about Chase's plan. For the first time, ever, Chase is realizing that Bitch doesn't even remotely care about him the same way that Julie does.
For once, I actually enjoy a montage. The music actually fits, and we see a lot of cute romantic moments. It's so heartwarming, in a way that Dhar Mann videos fail to tug at my heartstrings. Like I said, I was sooooo invested in this video and it had so much potential.
We cut to the day of the show, and Chase's narc friends... oh, right, these clowns still exist... they sneak backstage and support Chase... sort of. They don't congratulate him on a job well done, they congratulate him on manipulating Julie and talk mad shit about her... like why don't you guys just fuck off and get a life already? They leave, and Julie walks, with a massive glowup! Literally every other Dhar Mann character glowup sucks except for this one. Not only are 99% of the now "hot" people at the very median of the bell-curve, but even IF they actually were that attractive, NOBODY reacts irl with the hyperbolic drooling that Dhar Mann characters do. This glow up works because they don't put Julie on a pedestal, nobody ogles her, and nobody suddenly acts really nice to her. It's a much more realistic, Chase tells her she's beautiful, and that's it.
Chase and Julie absolutely knock it out of the park on stage, and the crowd goes wild! This is the only time I recall getting shivers from a video in a Dhar Mann video. The chemistry is so real, for one and one time only in Dhar Mann! Backstage again, Chase and Julie share a romantic moment, but they're still in intermission, so Julie leaves momentarily.
We are at 17 minutes of this 22 minute video. It was good for 17 minutes. These last 5 minutes are all completely fucking downhill... Dhar Mann absolutely FUMBLED this video in the remaining time!!!!
I genuinely stopped writing and watching for a minute to brace myself for how enraged I am going to get from this point out...
Narc friends sneak back stage again and... how does this keep happening?! And sure they tell him he's awesome and all, which is new, but other than that, they give the EXACT FUCKING SAME exposition that they did before the play started. Even in the context of this story, why? Why do this again? Oh, and they don't just loudly announce Chase's plan quietly among themseleves, they fucking declare this shit so loud that the entire world can hear. Including Julie...
Julie is obviously devastated, but what's even worse is that the narc friends just fucking skedaddle. Some fucking friends, right? They seriously left Chase alone to endure Julie's wrath. Even IF they don't know that Chase developed genuine feelings for Julie, isn't it still in their best interest to help Chase so he doesn't have to play baseball again?! At the very very very very least, the friends should say something like "dont blame Chase! He's a good guy, this was all our idea and we put him up to it!" but no. They just take off. No retribution. No consequences. Nothing. Chase gets the entirety of the rage and the blame.
The whole "I was using you at first but grew to actually like you" trope is something common in Dhar Mann. Dhar has made complete assholes get off scot-free and have a happy ending. Here you have a genuine guy who made a mistake and knows it, and he gets the absolute worst of it.
Oh, it gets even worse though... because in another extreme coincidence, this is THE ONE AND ONLY TIME that Bitch decides to care about Chase's life, and show up backstage (HOW ARE SO MANY AUDIENCE MEMBERS GOING BACK DURING INTERMISSION???) to give PDA right in front of Julie. Bitch literally says right in front of Julie "Why is she crying? Did she find out you were just pretending to like her?" Like holy fuck this is overkill! You don't need to narc on Chase this goddamn much!
Despite everything I just said post the 17 minute mark... This video had one more chance for redemption. Dhar Mann could have, and came soooooo close to redeeming this mess... I have to brace myself once again.
In the second half of the show, Julie's tone is much more scathing, while Chase's is completely timid. Usually I hate when, in fiction, people resolve their conflicts on stage by "being themselves", but here... it works. Chase breaks character and gives a sincere, honest apology and plea for forgiveness. I know I've used this phrase a lot, but it is such a heartfelt moment. If any character in Dhar Mann ever deserved forgiveness and a second chance for being genuinely repentant, it is Chase. Hell, even the entire damn audience is rooting for Chase and wants Julie to forgive and embrace him!
20 minute mark. 2 minutes remain, and we just had another peak moment after a valley, so surely this video can't fuck it up... right?
Julie runs off stage and the director calls an impromptu intermission. But then we cut to the next day at school... What? No! You can't just not tell us what happened the rest of the night and what became of the show!
Chase goes up to Julie at her locker with a gift of their favorite food. Chase tells Julie that he broke up with Madison, much to Julie's indifference. Chase is wearing a "so you see..." backpack by the way... Dhar Mann was INTENT on ruining this video holy shit.
Julie tells Chase that she talked to the director and they have decided to recast Chase's rol- HUH?! What??? What the fuck do you mean recast his role?? They JUST HAD the show!!! What do you mean for the rest of the run? That's not how school plays work. And no, there's no bullshit about it just going on a few more days of this weekend, because Julie specifically says that she can't bring herself to dance with Chase EVERY weekend!
I started banging my head into my desk once Julie said "Did you not learn anything from the show? Like my character says: The truth doesn't cost you-" AHHHH fuck off. The one and only time you had a somewhat clever way of veiling the message of the video, you had to fuck it up Dhar Mann by having her just outright point to the intended message... Julie takes the food and walks away. The end.
Outro:
...yes... that's actually how they decided to end this. What the fucking fuck? This is so incredibly anticlimactic and absolutely nothing is resolved. Chase is still under the abuse of his dad, his narc friends are off scot free, and Julie is still crushed. Dhar Mann has redeemed absolutely irredeemable scumbags and given happy endings to sociopaths, but Chase of all characters ends up with an EVEN SHITTIER life than how the video started?! This is even worse with the next suggested video being Anna from "Nerds Get Revenge on Cool Teens", an absolute fucking cunt of character who gets off scot-free and suffers no penalties for the shitty things she does INCLUDING USING SOMEBODY ROMANTICALLY, which she neither regrets nor suffers repercussions for. Just get the fuck out of my face already. Fuck this video, fuck the suggested video, and fuck Dhar Mann for ruining one of the only potentially good videos he ever made.
Sorry for how heated I got in this review. I can assure you that no other video even comes close to disappointing me on this level. It just... you know what, nevermind, I've said everything I need to say.
See you all next week for another review! Leave any recommendations below!

2024.05.15 07:56 readingitnowagain Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott defeats former Mayor Sheila Dixon in primary contest, making Mayor Scott the foregone favorite to hold the Mayorship against African American Republican Shannon Wright who's barely pulling 1,000 votes.

By Emily Opilo eopilo@baltsun.com PUBLISHED: May 14, 2024 at 3:51 p.m. UPDATED: May 15, 2024 at 12:56 a.m.
Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott declared victory in his bid for reelection Tuesday after opening what appeared to be an insurmountable lead over his chief opponent, former Mayor Sheila Dixon.
The Associated Press called the race for Scott at 11:24 p.m. Taking the stage minutes later at his South Baltimore election night party, Scott thanked Dixon for running a hard-fought campaign, but said it was time to “turn the page.”
“I think it’s safe to say we’re destined for a second term,” Scott said, prompting loud applause from a celebratory crowd.
Dixon, who left her party before 11 p.m., said before her departure that the race was too close to call.
After Scott declared victory, Dixon spokesman Luca Amayo said that “regardless of how the votes fall, there will always be people in the city who consider Sheila Dixon the forever mayor of Baltimore.”
The race pitted the first-term Scott against Dixon, the city’s mayor of three years, in a rematch of the 2020 contest that put Scott in office. Both are Democrats.
This time, the field was half the size of the crowded 2020 race and the upper tier of candidates shrank. Former prosecutor Thiru Vignarajah dropped out of the race in the first week of May, less than 24 hours ahead of the start of early voting. Businessman Bob Wallace, an independent candidate for mayor in 2020, ran this time as a Democrat, but failed to gain traction.
Returns from the early voting period, mail-in ballots cast ahead of the election, and almost all of the city’s 295 precincts showed Scott with 50.9% of votes cast to Dixon’s 41.3% — a difference of about 6,200 votes. Vignarajah, who exited the race too late to remove his name from the ballot, still received 3% of the preliminary vote. The returns do not include at least 13,500 mail-in ballots that have yet to be counted by the Baltimore Board of Elections.
When early returns first became public, Dixon jumped to an early lead. However, Scott quickly became the frontrunner and continued to widen his margin Tuesday night as additional returns from primary day were posted.
Cheers broke out at Scott’s party at Baltimore Peninsula earlier Tuesday as initial returns hit two television screens showing Scott slightly ahead of Dixon. Diana Turner danced joyfully as video clips of Scott played on the newscasts. Turner admitted she was unnerved to see the numbers so close between Scott and Dixon, but said she learned from Scott’s previous campaign that initial figures don’t tell the whole story.
“It’s going to fluctuate depending on where the polls are,” she said.
Dixon supporters said they expected the race to be close and the early returns gave them hope that she could, unlike last time, end up victorious.
“I think it was too soon last time,” said Kim Bangs, 64, of Canton said of Dixon’s 2020 bid for the office.
The city board of elections tallied about 11,700 mail-in ballots from Democratic voters ahead of primary day. The canvassing of remaining mail-in ballots will not resume until Thursday.
The 2024 mayoral contest, like many before it, focused heavily on crime. Scott touted the city’s reduction in homicides in 2023 — fewer than 300 people were killed for the first time in nearly a decade. Dixon argued Scott focused only on the homicide rate, allowing quality-of-life crimes to go unaddressed and chasing residents from the city.
Scott, 40, and Dixon, 70, represent different generations of City Hall leadership, but at times, their plans converged. Dixon’s crime plan, rolled out in January, called for a focused deterrence model of policing which would attempt to identify violent offenders and offer social supports in an effort to redirect them. Scott implemented a similar program, known as the Group Violence Reduction Strategy. That approach, piloted in the Baltimore Police Department’s Western District and since expanded, aims to intercept those vulnerable to becoming shooters or victims and provide social supports. The mayor credits it in part for the reduction in homicides.
Both Scott and Dixon’s housing plans call for tax increment financing or “TIFs” to be used in various neighborhoods to address vacant properties.
Dixon and Scott opted to cast their ballots in person Tuesday morning, Dixon near her Hunting Ridge home in West Baltimore and Scott in his Northeast Baltimore neighborhood. Dixon said she was “at peace” as she entered her polling place at Thomas Jefferson Elementary. Scott carried 5-month-old son, Charm Scott, nestled in a car seat into his polling place at Engine House 56.
Some heavy-hitters threw their support behind both candidates, wagering political capital on the close race. Democratic State’s Attorney Ivan Bates joined Dixon’s cause, endorsing the former mayor and calling Scott out for what Bates said was a lack of partnership between the prosecutor’s office and Scott’s City Hall. Sheriff Sam Cogen, too, said Scott has failed to be a partner to his office.
U.S. Sens. Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen both backed Scott, as did numerous unions that represent city employees. Some, like the unions representing the city’s firefighters, took shots at Dixon’s treatment of the fire department during her time in office. Unions backed a PAC that supported Scott with voter outreach and online advertising.
Scott led in fundraising and spending, dropping almost $1 million on the contest since the start of the year. Dixon has spent $653,100 since January. A PAC supporting Dixon’s campaign (funded in large part David Smith, a co-owner of The Baltimore Sun and chairman of Sinclair Broadcasting Group) supplemented Dixon’s effort, running ads that tried to paint Scott as an inexperienced leader. Scott’s ads sought to remind residents of Dixon’s criminal past. She was forced to leave office in 2010 after an embezzlement conviction.
The results of the race showed Vignarajah’s exit did little to tighten the contest. Running his fourth campaign for citywide office in the last seven years, Vignarajah threw his support to Dixon after conversations with the camps of both leading contenders. Scott said afterward that Vignarajah asked to be named police chief or CEO of city schools in exchange for his support. Dixon said no deal was made with Vignarajah for a job, although she declined to discuss potential positions in her administration that he may have suggested. Vignarajah said he offered to be “helpful” to the Dixon administration.

2024.05.15 03:47 lucybubs Keeping Up with the Contradictions: A Snarky Season Preview

The Circus is back in town people! Here's what to brace for this season:
Kravis Bliss: Travis and Kourtney, consumed by their love and the new baby Rocky Thirteen, will be rare apparitions. They're too engrossed in filming "Kravis Does Kalabasas" with Travis's kids to haunt our screens much. They will tease their new show with the first sightings of the Rock to entice viewers. She will say "Like" and "I DON'T CARE" at least 14.5 times per dialogue scene.
Kim's saga thickens: Kim crafted the imperfect illusion of a soccer mom, all while weaving a clandestine romance in the shadows. A Kris Jenner masterclass in contradiction, if ever there was one. Will we find out if she's still trudging through law school, preparing for the "toddler bar?" Don't expect the ghastly spectacle of her "Pearl Necklace" Met Gala fiasco or leaving her minor child on the side of the road to haunt the screen. Some horrors are too cringeworthy even for this show. We will get at least TWO new UGLY cry Memes!!
Khloe's Love Life: Khloe is still captured in Tristan's web, and will perform the usual charade about her unparalleled joy as a single mom of three. She'll profess what a great dad, and best friend he is and that she doesn't read the comments while simultaneously going full gangster on those who criticize her (the comments she supposedly doesn't read). She will continue to push the narrative that she is singling and mingling and call herself a MILF more than once. Her lips will continue to grow and we aren't just talking camels. She's no longer involved with Good American Jeans, but Im sure that wont be discussed.
Kendall's Vanishing Act: The ghost of the Hulu era, Kendall, will materialize more frequently this year to take the heat off of Kim's pointless adventures and Kourtney's uncaring attitude. She'll complain every episode about her debilitating anxiety yet appear in sheer see-through garments at every bar, festival, and five-and-dime from California to the Hamptons, peddling her latest questionable celebrity-endorsed Tequilla brand. She will try to convince us and rave about how much fun she is while getting an IV drip with her bestie after finding the closest reserved handicapped parking spot. Benito Bunny. Devin. Sashay Away, Shontay you stay - Does anybody care about her relationships anyway?
Kylie's Rebrand: Prepare for a deluge of Kylie. She'll remain cryptic about her romantic entanglements but will drop hints about a special someone. As of a year ago when this was filmed, she was still smoking ciggies with him, shaving her jaw while Ozempicing and chasing the Parisian chic esthetic.
Kris's Waterworks: Expect Kris to shed at least one cry, drink a liter of Vodka, and say "You guys" at least twenty-five times per episode. She will continue to profess her undying (and blatantly insincere) love for Corey the Fixer, who everyone knows has a much younger girlfriend that he was caught kissin in da Club. Speaking of - He will be wearing those obnoxious D&G x Corey silks in EVERY SCENE he is in.
Lord Disick's Filler Time: Scott will fill the void, funding his naughty vices with his paycheck. With the troves of dirt he holds and no NDA to bind him, Kris ensures his coffers are well-stocked. Most of his scenes are filmed after "events" so he can "bring it up" when they stop by to visit (its all for show people. ALL for show).
Next-Gen Spotlight: The cameras will fixate on Kim's daughter and Kourtney's stepdaughter, grooming them for their presumed dominion over the Hip Hop and Fashion worlds.
Prepare yourself for a season steeped in shadows, contradictions, and the eerie familiarity of reality TV's endless charade of stupidity and lies by a bunch of over-inflated, bodies and egos.
Did I miss anyone? Not likely.

To begin with, I will state that this post was months in the making (mostly waiting and chasing false leads) and carries with it perhaps some answers, plenty of questions, and perhaps for some, a similarity to their own experiences. Special thanks to u/Neo-Rex as well as u/ebycon for their assistance in helping me find and rule out some areas of research.
Disclaimer: The following images and text are provided without photo manipulation on my end (besides simple cropping and scanning). There are going to be many references in this post to Italian media, magazines, as well as individual writers. This is by no means an endorsement, advertisement, or other form of ARG intended to sell, market, or persuade anyone to buy, rent, or procure any of the described materials. Because I know this is a new area of topic, and because the images provided are of an unusual nature, I will provide various sources to prove that these images are not enhanced, manipulated by hand or by a contemporary photo manipulation program or AI generation.
Before we get into the nitty gritty of the images I will provide background as to how I came upon these images, and the flow of information.
I was first made aware of these images after researching separate alien encounters for a post of mine (see that post here for further details regarding that) one of the sources used was "alieni in italia 1945-1995 50 anni di incontri ravvicinati". On page VIII towards the back of the book these images (or rather image as three were compressed into one section) as well as the following text appears

These are in fact some photos(5) taken by an unidentified "university professor from Pavia" in the summer of 1986 and published by seven. The weekly newspaper Corriere della Sera. There was no shortage of unfavorable opinions expressed by several ufologists. ( Photo taken from: Seven No. 9/10 seven days illustrated by Corriere della Sera, March 5, 1988.
That was all the information provided within. (it should be noted that although this description mentions 5 photos, there are only these 3 provided within Moreno Tambellinis book.) These images captured my attention fairly quickly as I am fairly familiar with purported alien/supernatural photographs, so to find one I have never seen, and in such a quality which is general not present within other such photos as these, was more than enough to tip my curiosity in the direction of delving deeper.
First attempt at finding further information regarding these photos, and this particular magazine issue ended in little success, though I was able to find what I, at the time, believed to be a correctly colorized image of this entity. See below.

Unassuming on some random blog that attributed a name to this entity while providing no further information regarding the image itself (as certain ufological circles are want to do). Not finding further information I attempted to find further information based off of this colorized image, but to no avail. Save for one source that used this image ( in a different colorized manner, slightly less yellow and oozing with potential, that being this image by Argentinian Ufologist Dante Franch. See below.

Finally, someone who might have a lead on this information! But no, once again this image is deceptively alluring as the contents of this book have absolutely nothing to do with the Sette report, but simply use its image to describe unsourced and unverified tales of the City of Erks (a wild dive on its own and may be deserving of its own post) and other entities that supposedly have a resemblance to this cover image.
Upon further searches I came across this archived link with additional images some with closer to truth color, including the aforementioned first colorized image here https://web.archive.org/web/20080312200229/https://www.anomalia.org/perspectivas/fotosets/campo_cielo.htm as well as the additional references. The author of this blog post is Mexican Ufologist Luis Ruiz Noguez, notable for his skepticism and thorough investigation relating to this material, so it was a no-brainier to look into his research regarding this seeing as he had previously mentioned it here on his blogpost. So where better to look than his book "Extraterrestres ante las camaras" Volume X dealing specifically with italian encounters and purported alien photographs. But again, despite his previous notation in this blog, the contents of these images specifically are nowhere to be seen or mentioned within this book.
Research stagnated for some time during the search process for the original source cited in Moreno Tambellinis book. I was able after five months (you have no idea how hard it was to find a copy) able to acquire a copy of this magazine and finally was able to determine that the previously assumed white coverall of this entities outfit has been a false notion.
The following text is a translation of the pages within this issue of march 7th 1988 Sette: Corriere della Cera . 9/10, the original scans, as well as a translated text document of these pages can be found in the sources listed below. Important note: although these images are primary focus of this article, it does meander into thoughts on Whitley Striebers book "Communion" (which will be a source of contention that will be covered later in this post). But the translated post here is the relevant text to these images.
"Just as we were editing a report on the UFO phenomenon that was supposed to appear on 7 at the same time as the television passage of Spielberg's film Close Encounters of the third kind, we came across a resounding surprise: the images published in these pages and on the cover of this issue. They were taken completely by chance, one summer evening in 1986, by a professor at the University of Pavia, above all suspicion and known for his balance, his intelligence and rationality, completely alien to the somewhat emphatic and vaguely bizarre world of the so-called "contactees": those people who say they have entered into a relationship with unknown entities from the cosmos."
"He is a completely normal person who has always been skeptical of the reports of unidentified flying objects and is now also a testimony, erroneous to the idea that his name is related to the disturbing figure captured by his camera. The university lecturer has agreed to give us what he considers to be evidence of his shocking experience in exchange for absolute confidentiality"
"What to make of these images? We can make a few assumptions.
A) The author of the photos is a mystrifier. It is unlikely: too much resistance has opposed the publication of his document (which he has yielded for free to 7). In addition, he wishes to remain anonymous. A behavior that is certainly not that of those who want to speculate on a scooop, true or presumed.
B) The author is the victim of a game. Someone made him take "fireflies for lanterns". A well-thought-out game, by true professionals. It is not unlikely, even if the professor is not a "contactee", one obsessed with extraterrestrials, that is, a man who could arouse "temptations" among those who know him.
C) The photos really document something alien. A mysterious otherness has been captured by the professor's camera, who was the first to be surprised by this tangible presence, imprinted on the film that is absolutely different from a hallucination. What to say? What are we to think of images that forcefully re-propose the problem (or the dream, or the myth, or the nightmare) of the existence of other beings, of other civilizations that populate galaxies or dimensions unknown to us? Science continues to question these facts, but an answer is still a long way off. All experiences at the "edge of reality" are embarrassing. The line that divides science and mystery is still vague. Prudence, in these cases, is a must. And the desire not to appear is widespread among the witnesses. The professor from Pavia, who chose restriction, has an illustrious precedent."
"These images, taken on a summer evening in 1986 by a professor at the University of Pavia, who asked to remain anonymous, are the subject of various hypotheses of interpretation in the text of the article. The reader is free to draw his own conclusions."
Here are the direct scans of this entity as they appear in the magazine, scanned directly out of a physical copy of this magazine. (do note although these images are uploaded in different order I believe they may be sorted as such, I make no claim to the accuracy of this in terms of chronological order, but which is most aesthetically appeasing.)

Now, while the article was very keen to post certain aspects of this, it was rather lacking, and it must be stated although the title of this issue, as well as the description in the article infer this is related to UFO's. There is no mention of an actual UFO or craft present within this encounter, or at the very least, this information was omitted from the article, and was potentially removed at the request of the professor in question, though that is speculation on my part.
The following sections will deal with the author of this previous issue, as well as the two follow-up articles and their individual authors.
There is more information present as the above text states, not from the previous issue, but from two separate follow-up articles that were saved and printed in the Italian Ufo magazine "UFO express no. 043." Link to the full untranslated issue here/UFO%20Express%20-%20No%20043.pdf). These separate addendums fully cover the images in question and are critical but not overly-so. The most important aspect to this is that the professor provided further information to Sette, primarily about what they were doing prior to this entities appearance, but also their means of photographic capture.

UFO: Is this being from another world? read the scroll on the cover of 7 (No. 9/10) that we republish on this page. Hundreds of phone calls and letters arrived at the editorial office, and they continue to arrive after Mino Damato in his TV program Alla ricerca dell'arca (Sunday, March 27, Rai 3 8:30 p.m.) dealt with the same images, depicting a hypothetical alien photographed by a professor at the University of Pavia one summer evening in 1986.
There are those who believe in this hypothetical alien and those who do not, but all of the readers who have phoned or written are bound to each other by the rejection of that question mark printed on the cover: each of them is persuaded to erase the hypothesis, to tear away the veil of the enigma. And they split into two equally intolerant parties, leaving no room for doubt. We have chosen two exemplary letters. The first letter comes from Brixen and is signed by Mr. Nicola De Paola (2 Clesia Street). He says “the alien is a tobogganist: typical are the tight suit the aerodynamic helmet, the face crushed by the transparent visor, the blurred colors and contours of the photos are due to the fact that they were taken from television, with the obj vo blurred or too close up and strange an alien with limbs, head, face and body identical to those of man; I too will be able to take photographs quite similar to those published; as a reader I feel mocked.”
Others have certainly seen in the hypothetical alien: a surgeon, a nurse, an ice skater, an Icelandic firefighter, a Norwegian cryologist (sic), a KGB spy, a hockey player with his head bandaged; in short, some man in overalls or uniforms. No one has identified in the figures, despite the width of the pelvis, a woman or an androgynous. The second letter comes from Ferrara and is signed by Mr. Giovanni Mantovani (via Luigi Borsari 51). Says; When I saw the photographs I immediately thought: but look, it looks like the E.T. seen by R.M on September 2, 1987 while he was fishing on the bank of the Canal Bianco (RO). He felt an intense tingling, turned around and saw a strange individual: dark complexion, 2 meters tall, hair that looked like plastic, wearing a luminescent blue jumpsuit. The apparition lasted a few seconds.R.M. felt a chill, a feeling that was renewed at the sight of your photos... Only one remark can be made to the professor of Pavia: that of not having given the readers further clarifications about the close approach of the third type...
Here are the further clarifications that the professor from Pavia has allowed us to give, although he is consumed by the fear of being uncovered and covered with ridicule. The photos were taken by a Nikon camera, with motor-drive, 55 mm lens. Micro, 3.5 aperture, shutter speed: 1/4 second Polachrome film, 40 Asa sensitivity. Shortly after the sun went down, the professor was completing some experiments on the optical perception of dogs (how does a dog see things in the world? Black and white? With what depth, in what perspective?). That alone is almost ridiculous. We were missing the hypothetical alien. A dog joke? Maybe. But the professor never solved the riddle. And dogs don't talk. ~ Paolo Pietroni

Your E.T. seems to me to be a feminine being...
Dear editor, I am writing to you in relation to the series of 5 photographs taken by a better identified professor of Pavia one summer evening in 1986 and which appeared in the supplement of the Corriere della Sera n. 9/10 Since I am not familiar with photographic technique, I have written down the shooting parameters communicated by you personally during Mino D'Amato's television program In Search of the Ark on March 27.
Correct me if I'm wrong: Nikon camera body with motor, 5.5 mm focal length lens, aperture dia 3.5, exposure time 1/15 of a second. Certainly, with this adjustment, every little movement of the camera or of the photographed subject causes a blurred or rather blurred photograph. Probably, this whole story of the photos arose from the need of the Rizzoli Group to launch on the market the Italian version of the best American seller Communion by Ted Jacob, which deals, coincidentally, with the subject of extraterrestrials. This colossal business is also sponsored by the production of the film, which has been "posted" while waiting for the possible buyers of such a profitable product to be sufficiently sensitized...
Having said this, I wish, through his kindness, to convey to the professor of Pavia my modest comments on his photos. Feminism aside, I confess that the first spontaneous observation I made on these photographs was to recognize without a shadow of a doubt a woman, or rather a female being; The conformation of the hips, the breasts, combined with the grace of the bowed pose with folded arms, unequivocally belonged to a woman. But let's get to the details.
The suit - It appears so tight that it shows every little part of the body so as to give the impression of a "second skin"; It has light blue-green bands (as shown in the photo on the right on page 74) that are more evident around the neck, on the shoulders and on the arms.
The hands - They appear covered by the sleeves and more elongated than ours (cover figure), dare I say w(bed.
The head - Although it is more mobile, it clearly shows these elements: oval face with a slightly flattened nose, microphone with a light-colored support arm placed at the height of the left ear (photo on the right, page 74)
The headset - It is completely different from any type currently built because it contains a transceiver module at the top for contact with some support organ (e.g. an operations center, or a cosmoplane, or another operator), similar to what happens in Italy when astronauts go out of their vehicle and maintain constant radio contact with the control center.
The transceiver part can be seen both in the cover photo and on page 74, left and right, and is indicated by the protuberance on the top of the skull.
This study was born well out of any venal or other interest, in fact I am not a ufologist, but a pilot in full flight activity and with command responsibilities; I have been a first-hand witness to the phenomenon commonly associated with the improper name of UFO
Sure of the need to deal with the subject with more compatible methodologies than those promulgated by scientists and ufologists, I dedicate myself to the enhancement of aeronautical contactism, intending with this new term to redefine the sightings of military and civil pilots, aeronautical technicians, engineers, etc. who through direct experience with the phenomenon have acquired the conviction that we are not alone Only those who have had a direct impact with the phenomenon (the contactee) can provide a plausible image of themselves... everything else... They are only lucubrations born from mindsets that are not up-to-date with the present sotric moment on the one hand, and with the characteristics of the phenomenon on the other.
{end of article caption}
I forwarded his observations to the professor in Pavia, author of the photos depicting the hypothetical alien. Thank you for your interesting analysis. You are free to believe it or not, but the Rizzoli Communion book had an absolutely random presence in our service: we liked the design of the cover; the portrait of that E.T. and we thought of enriching the illustrations of the service.
Roberto Doz (a fairly interesting individual on his own, air force colonel with his own UFO sighting) read more on that here
As for the author of the original article. Their name is Nullo Cantaroni, and may be more well known by his wife Bice Cairati( Sveva Casati Modigiani), Nullo Cantaroni had a fairly successful journalistic career, dealing primarily in medicine as co-authorized by fellow science journalist Severina Cantaroni. He eventually succumbed to Parkinson's disease. I make mention of these authors, Roberto Doz (who has a very good reason to be interested in the topic as he had his own experience). As well as the other two as these are not the ramblings of some crazy pumping out their own versions of weekly world news, but were and still are highly credible and respected peoples, whom by their own association are taking the flak for posting this material to begin with.
From here on out, this is going to be a further dive into the already presented material, some comparisons with other cases which have direct correlation with these images, as well as other information during my research that has not been touched on up until this point.
In the first follow-up article there is mention of a show "Alla Ricera dell'arca (In search of the ARK)". With he show discussing the images posted here. I was able to confirm that this episode does exist, with the covered material, and is within the RAI archives (Italian TV network/station). However, they would not lend the episode out to a non-Italian citizen, or someone associated with a University, or media conglomeration. I mention this as there may be more material covered in this episode that was not provided in the main article and its follow-ups. If there are any Italian citizens, or peoples reading this who have the appropriate accreditation to acquire a copy of this episode I would ask for your cooperation in attempting to do so. If someone has a copy of this simply recorded off of an old VHS I implore you to make that available to all.
Going back to the main article, the meandering to Communion is certainly off-putting, though I disagree with the previous mention that this was a hoax on the part of the publication to push Communion. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence after all (even though Carl Sagan never bothered with the evidence, side tangent: listen to J Allen Hynek talk about that here) But I believe these images were published in good faith on part of Nullo Cantaroni, his background and thorough career would make this unlikely.
So as it figures there are three scenarios here that describe this scenario (in no particular order of likelihood)
1) these images are hoaxed by the publication to push communion
2) these images are hoaxed by the supposed professor
3) these images are legitimate and provide evidence of a non-earth based entity.
Before I move on I'd like to mention that I did attempt to reach out to Corriere della Sera multiple times regarding this material but was never given a response.
To round this off the images themselves. Humanoid obviously, female-appearing, now I say appearing because assuming this really is some unexpected entity, there is no guarantee that the physiology of this figure accurately represents its determination, and although this entity appears to have what we'd consider to be skin, that may only be a covering to another form or may be some type of robotic synthetic life-form designed specifically to mimic human appearances. What may be most interesting or most alarming depending on your perspective is this entities face appears to change between shots, and yet seemingly keeps the same body proportions. If you are of the opinion this is some type of hoax you could state this is an obvious inconsistency between shots. On the other hand, that is an obvious conclusion to make and showing differentiating faces would be a rather odd choice on the part of a hoaxer. This again could be part of the photographing process, as there is motion blur between some of these photos and it simply gives an appearance that things are changing.
There are other features which must be touched upon, namely the clothing, but in one such photo, what appears to be some type of headgear wrapped around this entities face. To anyone with a passing knowledge of ufology and its associated lore would know, the favorite of any interstellar interloper is the tight formfitting bodysuit. Primarily described as blue, although other colors are often reported. But unlike most humanoid encounters described in the west, this entity seems to have a darker complexion about them. Now does that mean this does not fit in with established prior encounters? Not at all, for whatever reason the blonde-hair nordic is the most popular discussion topic when it comes to human-adjacent lifeforms, but in other places, and Italy especially, some of their most well know or most covered, feature entities with darker complexions. Case in point

This encounter in 1978 Italy with a dark-skinned entity in a shimmering scaled suit. Or this description of a dark skinned entity with a similar described blue suit reported in 1987
Location. Villamarzana, Rome, Italy Date: September 2 1987 Time: 1700
Renzo Munari was fishing on the Bianco Canal when he noticed a strange object flying at a moderated speed over the river, as the object disappeared from sight he felt a strange prickling sensation in his body, resembling electrical static. Turning around he saw a very tall human-like figure staring intently at him. The figure was at least 2 meters in height, with orange hair and dark skin. He wore a luminous blue colored tight fitting coverall. On the left side of his chest there was a square orange colored “tag.” During the encounter the witness felt a cool wave of air and light headed. The figure apparently disappeared into the brush.

There is also this report from 1989 Russia
Location. Salsk, Rostov region, Russia Date: August 13 1989 Time: 2300
Working at a cotton irrigation plant Vasiliy Ivanovich suddenly experienced total equipment failure without any apparent cause. While searching for the cause of the breakdown, the witness heard a loud voice, “He is searching for the cause”. Looking around he saw four humanoids standing close to him. One stood in the front, while the other three stood in the back. He described the humanoids as tall, with long dangling arms, with a large head, flattened on the top and wide at the temples. The humanoids are dark red or brown in color with large egg-shaped eyes and two holes instead of a nose. They have no lips, and thin strip instead of a mouth. They were wearing truncated shiny blue coveralls and footwear. The humanoid standing at the front of the others held a box in his hand and a soft pleasant voice seemed to emanate from the box. He held the box at stomach level. Ivanovich approached the humanoids and asked who they were; the reply was a question asking him if he wanted to go with them. At this point the witness saw a light at the edge of the nearby woods and a hovering object. The humanoids then floated slowly towards the craft and disappeared. Terrified the witness ran to the village to notify other witnesses but upon returning to the site the humanoids had already left.

As for the headgear, there is a report from 1995 Italy of an entity not resembling this one in this post, but wearing a similarly described headpiece.
Location: Ancona, Italy Date: February 3 1994, Time: 9:00am
Six witnesses, including a Mr. Giulo observed a strange humanoid wandering around some nearby rocks. The humanoid was described as about 1 meter and a half in height, wearing a tight fitting black coverall that covered his whole body including a pair of very long feet. The face was elongated with two huge round eyes, with round black pupils. It appeared to be wearing earphones with a small thin protruding antenna. It seemed to stagger slowly and after about 10 minutes it rose up slowly and vertically into the air, quickly disappearing from sight

There is also this case from Barisciano Italy 1978 in which an entity bearing a striking similar blue color to the outfit was seen, with an adorning white "cap" or hairpiece that resembled that of a cap. read the untranslated version of that encounter here/Notiziario%20UFO%20-%201984%2001-02%20-%20Vol%2018%20No%20102.pdf)

Finally, lets get back to the person allegedly behind this whole spiel, the Professor. A claim such as this, where an entity appears in ones presence without any known means is a stark claim all on its own, to provide photos of such an encounter is another thing all together, but being as its an anonymous person, how can we gleam any credibility out of this? To put it in other words, is there enough information provided within the original article as well as the follow-up articles to speculate on a potential identity to who this man could have been?
Emphatically yes, infact there is only one such individual who fits the criteria with the information provided, granted this information was given after the fact of the original articles publication. In the first article within UFO express that discusses this, we are told this person is running experiments relating to dogs (canine) eyesight, but the author was unsure whether or not this is a jest of some sort. I do not believe it is, in the secondary article it is again mentioned that this professor is working with canine eyesight, but in a caption on the second page it is emphasized this was "non-academic research". Now does that mean it was unrelated to their professional focus? No, it simply means this research was carried outside of official means. This leads me to who I believe the primary suspect is in terms of a potential identity, could there be other more accurate people? Perhaps. But this persons tenure and level of research within this subject and the timeframe of when they were working at the University of Pavia lines up perfectly with who this person could be. However, because of doxxing concerns, and that they initially requested complete anonymity from the publication I will not be directly naming their identity here. But I will heavily state that this person worked in the university of Pavia from 1985 in the zoology department and specifically with foxes and wolves. With this person having worked and published (into the present) works related to both of these fields. I have attempted to personally reach out to this professor both via email & telephone (their academic numbers, not personal) but have received no response. I would ask that if you do look into who this person is that you do not attempt to directly contact them as their lack of a response is response enough.
What was the encounter like? How long did it go on for? Was there a conversation or was this a quick in and out? These questions and more are not answered here, and perhaps never will be unless someone; the professor, an associate, or anyone else, comes forward with more details we are left wondering and wanting more. There is of course much to be said about these images and the potential for further investigations, including the peculiar hands this entity seems to posses that does have a passing resemblance to other cases, but lest this drag on to long I will leave it here and attempt to answer any questions that I may be capable of giving insight on.

{end of article caption}

I have attempted to personally reach out to this professor both via email & telephone (their academic numbers, not personal) but have
received no response.

"Vero alieno o scoop giornalistico? Ho evitato di inserire nel presente catalogo questo caso avvero singolare. Si referiscono ad una presunta entita aliena che si sarebbe manifestata al professore in una situazione del tutto casuale. Non sono mancati pareri sfavorevoli expressi da parecchi ufologi. ( Foto tratte da: Sette n. 9/10 sette giorni illustrati dal Corriere della Sera, 5 marzo, 1988.
Translated: "Real alien or journalistic scoop? I have avoided including in the present catalog this singular case. These are in fact some photos(5) taken by an unidentified "university professor from Pavia" in the summer of 1986 and published by seven. The weekly newspaper Corriere della Sera. They refer to an alleged alien entity that allegedly manifested itself to the professor in a completely random situation.
See below.
https://preview.redd.it/ntnngh1fo60d1.png?width=341&format=png&auto=webp&s=7685ab304637834f06c14c93b6158e23f8ed66a6
Unassuming on some random blog that attributed a name to this entity while providing no further information regarding the image itself (as certain ufological circles are want to do). Not finding further information I attempted to find further information based off of this colorized image, but to no avail. Save for one source that used this image ( in a different colorized manner, slightly less yellow and oozing with potential, that being this image by Argentinian Ufologist Dante Franch. See below.
https://preview.redd.it/y99g6yhho60d1.png?width=280&format=png&auto=webp&s=a784d5d82998aab7784b0e0ff8507bf999b7e320

{Page 1}

{end of article caption}

2024.05.12 05:43 jt_lyon few tips to help you climb in ow2 (current diamond. peaked low masters)

number 1, basing your teams performance based off of stats exclusively is a habit you need to release yourself from as soon as possible, high stats does not equal wins i promise you. judging your losses because of stats only is low tier bronze thinking, stop it <3
number 2, just because you and your team is destroying the enemy team does not mean you should push to their spawn and try to keep them there, i promise you will loose that fight every time, i can't tell you how many matches ive lost because of this, and it just makes it more infuriating knowing that all your team had to do was play objective and we would have won, so even if the enemy team is completely dog, play as if they're not, hold that point
number 3, overwatch is a objective based game, unless you're a dive comp, do not chase lol, if they leave site let them leave, don't chase, idk how many times i've taken advantage of people who chase just by switching to sombra and ghosting site
number 4, counter pick, counter pick every single time, learn the heros and their counters, some heros dont have hard counters like zarya for example, but she hard counters quite a few characters, so learn who she doesn't hard counter and play around that. people complain about it, but its a mechanic in the game, use it. next time you see a widow switch to sombra and bully until they swap to something else for you to counter
number 5, i swear to god if i see another person scream in chat "kill the healers" im gonna do it to myself. as a DPS main i assure you, the hardest characters to kill are healers, the kill order should always be DPS first, then whoever is free next, weather that be tank or healer. but ALWAYS kill the DPS first, you'll win every team fight if you do this, obviously if you see an opportunity to kill a healer or a tank even, take it. but when in doubt, kill the DPS, they have the least amount of survivability so dispatching them is a whole lot easier then trying to 1v1 any type of healer, other then zenyatta, he's free
number 6, cry less and play more, if you're playing reaper or something trying to frontlines, and your tank isn't making space for you, then switch to someone long range and play from there, you can always adapt, but quit blaming others when a simple switch would make your life a bit easier
number 7, comp around your healers ults, figure out whos good with who, example, if your healer is kiri, then pick someone that could benifit from her ult, ashe, soldier, cass, etc, this is basic i know but i hate seeing lucio getting robbed of game changing ults from a poke comp and not a brawl or a dive
thanks for coming to my ted talk, endorse your healers, be kind to your tanks, and heal genji

2024.05.12 00:39 dashininfashion After a lot of job hopping after getting my CDL, I've finally found my place

I got my class B through my school bus job last year. The job wasn't bad, challenging at times but i loved the schedule. Fact of the matter though is even though the hourly wage was good, the lack of hours and summer pay being withheld just wasn't paying the bills. I went to truck driving school over the summer and got my class A manual and all endorsements and got hired running OTR tanker for a mega. It wasn't my thing, so i left and job searched for a couple of months. Nobody wanted me without experience but i did get an offer for a local class B propane delivery gig. It paid very well but i was dreading it because it was over an hour away, it was hard labor, a lot of hours, and a lot of mandatory on call. I was becoming completely disillusioned with the trucking industry and how much work and time every employer demands so i started applying to completely different industries without any luck. For some reason i decided to look at local county and city websites for jobs. I realized the city next to me was hiring CDL drivers for the public works division so i applied and got an interview the next day. I quit the propane gig before i even started. I accepted the city job the next day. It doesn't pay that well, but it's 10 minutes from my house, four 10 hour shifts a week, super fun, super easy, cool bosses, cool coworkers. It's the only job i've ever had that's 100% stress free. I clock in, grab my truck keys, spend the day cruising every street, and perform whatever task i need to based on what i'm driving. Sometimes it's a leaf vacuum truck, sometimes it's a grabber truck in which i operate a big claw that picks up a pile of sticks and limbs from people's yards. There's no boss breathing down my neck, no deadlines, no time crunches. I just do what i can in a day and pick up where i left off the next day. My 8 year old self would shit if he saw the cool toys i got to play with. I end my shift at 4 and head back to the shop and watch tv until i clock out at 5, so lately i've just been hopping on the backhoe or excavator or skid steer in the yard to play around with to learn new skills. I have full benefits and i'm fully vested in my pension after 5 years. If i ever decide to leave, there are multiple companies and local governments paying up to or over $10/hr more than i'm making right now, but require experience with the exact equipment i use right now, and that you can really only learn in a job like mine
For the first time in my life i finally feel like i've struck the perfect work/life/pay/potential balance. I'm finally carefree in all aspects of my life and feel like the future is going nowhere but up.
I guess my point in all of this, is just take care of yourself. Stop chasing the dollar. It will come to you. Your time and mental health and physical health should be your highest priorities. The money will come even if that's not the reason you accept a particular job.
Good luck out there gentlemen, i know exactly how rough it is

After 3 years of trading, I am proud to say I have achieved (measured and proven) consistent profitability! Here's what I've learned along the way.
Forgive me if this post is unwelcome at all, I rarely post anything on social media, especially Reddit, but I have been wanting to make this post for some time, and I've been given enough of a catalyst to motivate me to do it. Its intention is to be helpful, motivational, and informative. I will also add that my situation is very unique, and I have the benefit of having a partner providing primary income while I learn to trade. Not everything here will apply or be helpful for everybody, but I will share all the same because I think I still have valuable insight to share.
This weekend, my account with TD Ameritrade is migrating over to Schwab, and I saw a notice on my account overview page that said my P&L history wouldn't be making the transition, so I wanted to make sure I screen capped it for record keeping, and let's just say that I can see a clear change in early September, which I will explain in detail. Here's the cap of my account history, starting from the day I moved my capital from my cash account into a new margin account (because I had finally breached PDT requirement!):
https://preview.redd.it/0m9pyq2l8tzc1.png?width=2664&format=png&auto=webp&s=f9be1262400cdb4e19e9cf4dcc6b59b920b4ad2b
So, what did I start doing differently in early September?
From the absolute lowest point in September was the day I began trading my current system, with the idea that I was going to only do this one thing, with consistency, and measure the results over time. I have been focused 100% entirely on process, and on risk management. Quite literally, up until just now, I have been limiting risk to $1 or less per trade, often times taking on risk as low as $0.10 per trade. Yes, really.
WTF? Seriously? Why?
I understood early on that my biggest challenges in learning to trade were likely to have more to do with my own personal psychology than anything else, so I have always placed a strong emphasis on being self-aware and introspective. Part of that journey of self-discovery involved being aware of my own personality traits, both strengths and flaws.
I knew that I had the flaw of financial anxiety, and fear of losing money. I knew that needed to change, and the way to change that is through cognitive behavioral therapy, or in this case, exposure therapy. What that translates to is reducing risk to be low enough that I quite literally do not care if I win or lose. This frees up my brain to focus on the trading process instead.
Additionally, I started hedging by keeping most of my capital invested in a rolling 4-week treasury bill ladder, basically using 1/5 of my total capital each week, with the added rule that my maximum loss per-day could not exceed whatever the t-bills made that day. This would later be revised to just having a maximum daily loss rule in general, but with a flexible amount based on recent performance instead.
Did it work? What happened?
The focus shifted from "Don't lose money" to "Be disciplined, be consistent". My psychology shifted from fear and anxiety to one that seeks opportunity and enters trades without fear or hesitation. I learned how to objectively interpret what was happening. Everything about how I viewed the markets was changing.
I was able to learn the true relationship between risk/reward and win rate. I was able to learn that, even if I had a win rate of 10%, my system could still be profitable if the risk/reward was high enough. So, I instead shifted focus to the highest quality asymmetrical risk-to-reward setups I could find. Because my risk on a per-trade basis was so low, I basically just took every setup I saw.
By doing that, I was able to learn over time what worked and what didn't. I started learning over time when I was being faked out, or chasing, or revenge trading, or having a bias. I made rules for my trading system, and if a rule didn't work out beneficially, it was discarded. It allowed me to refine my system over time without worrying about losing money.
That same process of self-awareness and introspection also had the side-effect of making me a better overall person, with better mental and physical health, a better relationship with my wife, and better and more relationships with friends. I cannot express enough the importance of mental and physical wellness in trading, or how much I can confirm that it has helped me.
Eventually, this process led me to meet other experienced real traders who are already established and profitable. They invited me to join their discord, and we have been trading together every day since. It just happened that my trading style was based on something they wanted to learn about (volume profile/fractal price action analysis).
Even though we are nothing alike in trading style or methodology, receiving validation from other real traders that I'm doing things right has been a huge confidence boost for me. I owe a lot of my consistency to them, simply because of how our dynamic works, where we simply share our analysis out loud, and the other traders can listen, and agree or disagree and state why.
It's not about what anyone thinks in particular, and more about keeping myself consistent about just doing the analysis in the first place, because I'm contributing to the group. It's been helpful to have each other point out when someone else is breaking rules, being undisciplined, etc. It makes me much more self-aware and drives me to perform better.
Now what?
I'm now at the point where I am comfortably consistent within my system, and simply sizing it up. The first day after sizing up where I lost (yesterday, actually), my psychological reaction to it was more or less "cool, early weekend I guess, lol". More than anything, I was proud of myself for respecting the maximum loss rule, even coming in under it. I came in enough under it that by the close, I had enough ammo left to make back most of what I lost in the morning, and still end the day more or less flat.
What trading system are you using? Can you teach it to me?
I'm not here to pretend to be some guru/furu or whatever. I'm not selling a system. My only motivation is sharing with the community while I'm still small time enough to care, in the interest of karma and paying it forward, since I have learned from other posters here over time.
My system isn't anything fancy and is still highly discretionary. Without experience in price action analysis, as well as the risk management and trading psychology to support the system, you will be unlikely to trade it successfully. The success or failure of any trading system almost always relies on you, the trader, and your subjective interpretation and execution of that system. This means that technical analysis both does and doesn't work, it depends on how you use it and perceive it. This is what they're talking about when they say trading is more about psychology than anything.
More market knowledge will not make you a better trader past a certain point. There is no one correct way to trade, this is just the way that I perceive and do things. Technical analysis is not a predictive tool. It is a means of providing context to tell you what the market is doing, and what it has done, nothing more. It is there to answer the question of "Did X level break?", and in that context, it works perfectly.
That said, I trade completely based around the volume profile. I am most interested in the areas with the lowest points (low volume nodes) and the highest points (high volume nodes). The market is fractal, so if you look at a weekly profile, you will see the peaks and valleys, and within that range if you look on lower timeframes you can see other nodes with their own peaks and valleys, and this true down to the lowest interval.
If you place a horizontal line on these points, with consistent rules, you can look at past price action and see when and where the level was relevant, and how relevant, and often you will find that placing a line there makes a pattern very obvious. You will notice that when price reaches a LVN, there are only a few things that generally will happen:
  1. Price pivots from the area, or near it
  2. Price halts/hesitates/consolidates at or near the level
  3. Price blasts through it like a laser beam
More importantly, it gives us an area of interest with a high risk-to-reward ratio. Our stop loss goes just a bit past whatever the nearest HVN (high volume node) is. This is based on the theory that, if price fails to break the lows or highs of the range, then it will instead seek balance wherever the market previously found price acceptance. The most obvious place for it to go is wherever the most popular price in recent history is. Where price is in relation to the nearest HVN can also indicate possible market intent or trend, much like VWAP.
We do not enter trades at HVNs because they indicate consolidation, and we don't want to sit in consolidation, we want to be in the trade when price is moving, and we want to get out quickly when we are wrong because if we got faked out, why become liquidity more than you have to? I trade like an institutional trader: my levels are my levels, they either work or they do not, it is binary. I don't chase a trade, and I only take trades where I can get good fills, with the rules being that I must sell the tops of nodes and buy the bottoms of nodes (with respect to higher timeframe trend).
TL;DR: Predictive analysis, reactive execution
Don't try to predict what price is going to do. Predict scenarios of what it could do, then wait to see if you are correct. Have defined criteria for when you are. Here's an example setup analysis:
Morning gapper, big volume, meh news, gapping into a low volume node... I don't just blindly enter it, I mark the nearest LVN above and below, then look at a weekly, daily, and hourly chart to see if the level is significant or not. If not, I look for other nearby levels that might be. I set alerts both a little bit before those levels, as well as at them, and I wait.
Say, for example, over the course of premarket and into the open, I notice what looks like a clear head and shoulders pattern on a 5m chart, with a head that closed above the node, and shoulders showing rejection below it. Cool, now I can short any pops up to that level, because price did what I expected it to (showed a reversal pattern when and where I expected it to occur) and gave a defined and asymmetrical risk/reward ratio, so long as the nearest HVN below is at least 1:1 risk/reward or better. The stop loss placement is simple because a new high would invalidate my thesis, and I got a great fill with low risk. This setup happens somewhere almost every day with fairly consistent reliability.
I saw a setup, made a plan for entering, managing risk, and exiting to take profits, and then executed it. That's trading. From there, I can take out most of the position at the nearest HVN, hold a little bit to watch retracement, and try adding later if it trends in my favor, or stop out at break even. I make money 9/10 days, even if it's just a 1R day. Some days it's a 10R or 20R day. Doesn't matter, rule #1 is don't lose money.
The success of the system has less to do with the specific technical indicators or methods I am using, and more to do with the fact I have defined rules regarding entries, exits, risk management, and they are designed around my personality in a way that keeps me consistent and disciplined, while managing my own psychological shortcomings.
If you're interested in visualizing some of my trade setups, here are some real, actual trades that I took:
PLTR short I recently took at the end of the day. Trend down all day, clear head and shoulders, below VWAP, closed a 5m candle above the LVN at 21.60 and immediately rejected. This was a bit over a 7R trade.
1m chart of the same PLTR short, showing the 1m head and shoulders/trend line rejection that confirmed my entry.
AAPL short last Friday: I saw SPY make a new high while AAPL made a lower high. It had rejected a higher timeframe LVN at 187 early in the day, and at the exact moment it failed to make a new high with SPY, it turned away off of another fractal LVN that overlapped the 186.00 level, so I had an entry where I had 0.20 worth of risk. I was able to turn that 0.20 in risk into a $12 win by scaling in and taking profits aggressively on the way down.
I'm not a permabear, I simply follow structure and what price action tells me is happening. Here was the last day I spent trading MARA, where I was able to profit both long and short by being objective and following my rules.
SPY premarket scalp: Typically, I avoid entries at HVNs because I don't like to sit in consolidation, however when I saw buyers come in at such an obvious node at 499.50 (as in significant volume snapping it back up), I saw a low-risk entry before there was even a higher low that paid off.
PLTR again: I generally know when I am right about a level based on how violently it rejects from it.
I'm not going to post a ton of these, hopefully these are enough to communicate the general idea. They're meant to educate, not brag. If you want to know more, feel free to ask in the comments, so I can give a response that everyone can benefit from. I'm not selling my system but am happy to teach freely whatever I am able to share if it is helpful. I am not somebody who believes the market will be out to get me if I expose my system. The system works because it follows what the market is doing as objectively as is reasonably possible, and it is very binary in nature (the level is the level, it either holds or it doesn't). It has zero predictive ability, edge, or power without the analysis and psychology to back it up.
There are many ways to effectively trade using volume profile. I've even had success literally just using fibonacci levels that overlap volume nodes, or session/weekly OHLC levels/moving averages/trend lines that do the same. Experiment and find what works with your style, as the concept is really more about keeping you buying low and selling high, while respecting defined rules regarding support and resistance.
Other tips I have learned that I hope may help others along their journey:
  • It is okay to be wrong. It is not okay to stay wrong.
  • Trade what you see.
  • Your success is determined by your own ability to remain disciplined, follow your own rules, and stick to your own plan.
  • Don't price watch all day.
  • When you think you should be buying, you should be selling.
  • When you think you should be selling, you should be buying.
  • You do not know what is going to happen.
  • Risk and loss are part of trading. You will lose money sometimes. Without risk, there can be no reward. It's about staying in the game long enough to figure it out. Define and control your losses. Never trade without a stop loss.
  • The best loser wins. Be quick to take small losses. Just got in and letting it run against you? Why? Obviously, your timing was wrong, get out and reposition somewhere better, you just need to be patient.
  • They say you can't time the market; you can't nail tops or bottoms, but that simply isn't true because I do it almost every day. You don't know when a particular trade is going to be the top or bottom, but you know when it could be, and so long as you are able to hit a profitable target, it allows you to be aggressive about guessing tops and bottoms, and when you do get one, those are the highest risk/reward trades, and you can scale into them because you had such a good average on your initial entry. Your initial entry should be your best.
  • Take intentional steps to de-stress every single day. This is a stressful job and it requires a lot of mental energy that needs replenishment. Have fulfilling hobbies, have relationships and friends, and invest into them, as you will need to build a support system for yourself to keep yourself successful long-term. Make sure you get plenty of sleep.
  • Take your mental health seriously. If you have ADHD or depression or anxiety or whatever, get medicated. Stimulant medications like Adderall can be like a real life "Limitless" pill for some people, and potentially life-altering in a positive way (it sure has been for me). Regardless, we've all heard how much of a psychological game this is, and we're competing against some of the most brilliant minds fintech has ever seen, with AI algorithms designed to trick and manipulate you. You want to go into the market and take money from these people? Get fucking real, you need to be at the top of your psychological game to have a chance, as anything else is a needless handicap so long as treatment is available to you.
  • A lot of trading education is designed to intentionally make you predictable and manipulate you. It is important to be aware of this, and to "protect" your psychological convictions by having a critical view of everything. This industry motivates a lot of bad people with bad motives to do bad things.
  • Remember that over 90% of people will fail at this. What reason do you have to believe you won't be a part of that statistic? Why risk real money before you know you have an edge, and you have confidence behind it? Be aware of cognitive bias, and cognitive dissonance. You don't have to be smart to be a successful trader, but you do have to be disciplined and self-aware.
  • It is better to focus on one thing, and be really good at that one thing, than to spread yourself too thin. Trade one strategy, one setup. Keep your charts clean. I only use price, volume, volume profile, and an indicator for trend (automatic trend lines, moving average/vwap). If you can't look at your chart and clearly identify what is happening, you fucked up, clean it up.
That's basically all I can think of for now. Hopefully this is well-received. I've wanted to do it for a while now, as a way to say thanks for the quality contributors that have helped me along the way. I will also mention that if you are looking to further your trading education, I can recommend some content creators that I feel have helped me in some way along the way. I am not affiliated with anyone, nor do I endorse anyone in particular. As such, I won't be linking to any of them, you can find them on your own if interested, and if not, it's unlikely you have the psychological foundation and drive it takes to succeed at trading, IMO.
Resources I found helpful are mostly based on YouTube, and include:
  • Price Action Volume Trader (Provided the basis for the start of my system)
  • Tom Hougard (Most influential, psychologically)
  • Trader Dale (Also contributed to my system)
  • ImanTrading (Great, honest, informative, no-BS approach, I like this guy a lot)
  • TraderTV Live (useful for awareness, and studying psychology of other traders)
  • "Trading In the Zone" by Mark Douglas (I used audiobook, listened 6 times now)
  • Humbled Trader (Obviously commercialized but she at least does give mostly solid advice. It has been pointed out in comments that ImanTrading allegedly calls out Shay as being a scammer, but I have not seen this myself... keep it in mind, but I am leaving her here for now as I have not personally heard her say anything I disagree with)
  • TheChartGuys (Same as above, more obviously commercialized than Shay IMO, but none the less I watch their analysis videos to provide me with an awareness of what is happening, as well as learn what other traders are looking at and doing)
Thanks for coming to my TED talk. I hope you enjoyed it. Feel free to ask any questions, and I will answer as life permits, but I am otherwise going to enjoy my weekend off, and I hope you all do the same!
Edit/Update: Wow, thanks for such overwhelming and positive responses so far! I am doing my best to respond to everyone ASAP. That said, I wanted to mention that the purpose of this post isn't about my system, nor is it to recruit anyone to anything. I am happy to answer questions, but like I said I am not selling or advertising anything, and the discord I am in is just a small group of friends that want to keep it small so I will not be inviting anyone there, sorry. Anyone who has questions is free to ask in comments or DM me, I will happily talk with anyone who needs help. I love trading, I have a real passion for it, and I enjoy every opportunity to talk about it and to help teach others! That said, I am not so delusional as to think I am hot shit in any way or that I know everything, because I don't. I am just barely getting started myself, so don't take anything I say as gospel, this is just things as I see and understand them currently.
Edit 2: There are a couple of people here who assert an accusation that either I am trying to scam you, or gain followers for attention/fame/whatever and sell a course or system. Allow me to express how much this isn't the case at all. I do not want attention or followers. I do not want to teach a course or sell anything to anyone. If I continue receiving harassment about it, I'll remove the details of my system. Anyone who DMs me asking for a course, discord invite, signals, trading system, etc. will not receive any of those things from me. Any information I have provided here or provide moving forward is for no other reason than the motivation of kindness and information sharing, and I may stop it at any time and vanish.
The point of this post was never to gain clout, but to repay information. If that isn't welcome here, I am happy to leave people to figure it out for themselves. I appreciate constructive criticism, but that's not what's happening. If you're going to accuse me of lying or scamming, you had better have some evidence for your claim other than the assumption, because I will assume you are too stupid to warrant a response if you don't.
Edit 3: Original post restored as I have been un-banned from the sub. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused for anyone.
Updated trade example:
This morning, I was looking at my scanner and noticing almost everything on it was flagged as HTB, with literally everything being over 15% short float. Coupled with price action across the rest of the market, I thought it looked more likely that these would squeeze. Then, I noticed the outlier. AMC, with an absurd number of shares traded premarket.
I had a dip buy limit order sitting at 6.50 on AMC from premarket, and spent most of the morning waiting for it to come to me. I did attempt a dip buy once at 9.28 based on a higher low near the LVN at 8.65, but exited quickly once it started heading lower.
As anyone who traded AMC today can tell you, there were many halts throughout the day, and there was a halt at every LVN. Price dipped to 6.53 and halted with an inverse cup and handle on my TICK chart, but I manually changed it to 6.53 and got filled intentionally, just to be sure I didn't miss the fill in case it teleported away.
It didn't teleport up, it gapped down, so I sat in consolidation and waited for liquidity to build within the tight channel we were in. I had my eye on 6.10 as my main LVN support under me, and liked the setup because of the shape of the overall node having a "forked" appearance, as these tend to be stronger levels in my experience.
After free-falling for most of the session, and consolidating around in the bottom half of the local node, buyers were able to break back above 6.50 and hold it, even after bears retaliated with a 200 sma rejection and pushed it below the node once more. I got my second fill at 6.12 and scaled in more, with a new average of 6.39. That was our low of day, and bulls made reversal patterns at every LVN after that, building intraday inverse cups and inverse head/shoulder setups.
I took profits in extended hours, selling at 8.29, around a 30% gain for the day. Not a bad day, overall!

2024.05.11 00:06 464tusker Template for Congress, set aside the dogmas of the past

Dear [Congressperson's Name],
I am reaching out as a constituent deeply concerned about an issue that, historically, has been marginalized and ridiculed—UFO phenomena. It is my understanding that this topic may not be taken seriously within your office, often dismissed as fanciful or not worthy of rigorous inquiry. This approach, rooted in decades of stigma rather than evidence, not only does a disservice to the spirit of scientific exploration but also ignores the potential implications on national security and government transparency as well as the importance for your own oversight of defense spending.
The prevailing dismissive attitude towards UFOs often equates their study with chasing figures of imagination such as the Tooth Fairy or Santa Claus. However, this is not about imagination or misidentification; it's about the thousands upon thousands of documented incidents and credible reports that have been overlooked due to prevailing biases, including the testimony of David Grusch, who testified under oath last year. It is crucial to distinguish genuine skepticism—which demands inquiry and evidence—from a dismissal grounded in a reluctance to challenge established narratives.
I urge you to reconsider the approach taken by your office. Adopting a stance of genuine curiosity and empirical investigation into this phenomenon is not an endorsement of fringe theories but an affirmation of a commitment to transparency and truth, no matter how unconventional the subject may seem.
Let us set aside the dogmas of the past and approach this matter with the intellectual integrity it demands. Thank you for considering a shift towards a more informed and open-minded examination of UFO phenomena. Your leadership in fostering a thoughtful dialogue on this subject can help pave the way for a rational and evidence-based understanding.
Best Regards, [Your Name]

2024.05.08 23:29 Odd-Promotion5916 Processing OEC for Direct Hires (as of May 9, 2024)

I had a hard time looking for credible step-by-step guide on processing OEC. So I put together this simple guide and I hope it helps. Please note that I am still working on my OEC and this is a work-in-progress ⚠️👷‍♀️⚠️. Meaning I will update this post until I finally get my OEC and fly to Canada.
A little background information about me: I have a Canadian employer who processed all my papers including Work Visa, LMIA, and up until submission to POLO for verification. The following steps are for Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) processing specifically for Direct Hires. I am no expert, all these are based on my own research and experience. This is also my first time doing all these and working abroad. Here it goes:
[1] Create an account here: https://onlineservices.dmw.gov.ph/OnlineServices/Public/CreateAccount.aspx. A temporary password will be sent to your email. Once your account is ready, log in by clicking Let's Go button. Enter your e-mail and password.
[2] On the Dashboard, attach a passport size (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm) profile picture and upload a scanned copy or a picture of the info page of your passport.
ℹ️ If it throws you an error or you don't see a preview of what you've uploaded, your file probably isn't allowed. They either accept JPG/JPEG or PDF only. They also have file size limit. Please double check before uploading anything. This applies to any file you'll be uploading on this website.
[3] On the left side, click My Profile. Setup as much as you can including your Passport under Identifications. Do not upload anything yet under My Documents, this will have to be updated once your status is FOR APPOINTMENT, more of this later (see step 8).
[4] On the right side, you'll see a section called My Links. Click Direct Hire Application.
[5] On the left side under Tools section, click My Application.
ℹ️ This is only accessible Mondays to Fridays 8am to 5pm (Philippine Standard Time)
[6] Upload all required documents (this is Phase 1):
[7] Once all documents listed in step 6 are submitted, you need to wait until your application status is FOR APPROVAL. At this point you'll receive an email basically instructing you to prepare the Phase 2 requirements:
ℹ️ Workers bound for Canada, New Zealand, and Australia are exempted from submitting Medical Certificates (just upload a blank page instead).
ℹ️ Medical Certificate is only valid for 3 months. If you are confident about your application you can get it as soon as you submitted Phase 1 requirements. I actually did mine only to learn later that Canada-bound workers are exempted (which makes sense since Medical Exam is required in processing VISA). To give you an idea, you will undergo hearing exam, visual exam, radiology, laboratory (including urinalysis and fecal analysis, Hepatitis B surface antigen test or HBsAg test, HIV test, STD test, pregnancy test), psychological evaluation (personality test, intelligence test, autobiography and intake interview), and physical exam.
ℹ️ Bring the following when you attend PDOS: photocopy of your passport, printed registration form (Go to Direct Hire Application > Tools > Print Registration), and your POLO verified employment contract (They won't take this, they will only check and review it).
ℹ️ This is different from PDOS conducted by Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO)'s PDOS. I made a mistake of booking an appointment with them, they didn't entertain me
ℹ️ I tried getting the online PDOS but seems like that isn't available or offered anymore.
ℹ️ Included in PDOS are orientation for SSS, PAGIBIG, PhilHealth, and COMELEC. I recommend to free up your afternoon so you can update all these in POEA Ortigas. It's so convenient since they have all these sectors in one place.
For both SSS and PAGIBIG, they accept advance payments so you don't have to worry about paying when you're abroad. Another convenient way of paying your contributions is through GCash. You may avail PAGIBIG's ID, but it is only offered Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays only. They can only accommodate 50 pax per day. If you want one, come in early.
For PhilHealth, we are required to pay our premiums and that is 5% of our salary written in our employment contract. It's a huge amount! I'm surprised the person in charge for PhilHealth Orientation in PDOS even said that we don't have to pay it, no one will chase us anyway. The only problem is you can't avail of it's benefits.
For COMELEC, there's an upcoming elections next year (April 13 to May 12, 2025). I was able to update my information and register for the planned online voting. You just need to present your passport and fill up their form, then they will take your biometrics.
[8] Once your application status is FOR APPOINTMENT, upload all Phase 2 requirements (listed in step 7) in Home > My Documents.
ℹ️ Again, if you get an error or you don't see a preview of what you've uploaded, your file probably isn't allowed. They either accept JPG/JPEG or PDF only. They also have file size limit. Please double check before uploading anything. This applies to any document you'll be uploading on this website.
[9] Go to your scheduled POEA Appointment. Bring the original copy and 2 extra copies of all your Phase 1 (see step 6) and Phase 2 (see step 7) requirements. Also bring a printed copy of your POEA appointment.
[10] WIP, I will update this later. I am still on Step 7 myself 😅
To give you an idea of the overall TIMELINE for processing OEC, here's my journey so far:
  • March 8 - We picked up our passports after VISA stamping from VFS Global Makati
  • March 20 - POLO Vancouver received the complete requirements for employment verification from my employer
  • April 26 - All our documents are verified by POLO
  • April 30 - My employer picked up all verified documents from POLO Vancouver office
  • May 2 - I did my medical exam and accomplished PEOS
  • May 3 - My employer mailed all original documents to me, they also sent me a photographed copy of all the documents so I can upload it to DMW online services. I was able to submit all Phase 1 requirements same day.
  • May 6 - I picked up my Medical Certificate with "FIT to work" results
  • May 6 - I received the original POLO verified documents (it was mailed to me by my employer through DHL express)
  • May 6 - My application status became: assigned to POEA evaluator
  • May 7 - My application status became: FOR APPROVAL, subject for Clearance
  • May 9 - I attended PDOS at OWWA Ortigas and got my PDOS certificate.
  • May 10 - Waiting... They said the status online will be updated in 2-3 days. Then I can upload my Phase 2 documents. Afterwards another wait time of 2-3 days, then they will issue an appointment date to submit all original hard copies of the requirements. I will update this post again later ⚠️👷‍♀️⚠️
Other notes:
  • If your employer has 5+ Filipino employees already, they'll need to get an agency to process your papers.
  • If your spouse is coming with you on an Open Work Permit, they don't need to get PDOS or OEC. They need to present a copy of your OEC to Immigration Officer. This information is from a Direct Hire department employee.

2024.05.08 20:03 Any_Biscotti_4003 Maxwell screens & Fleenor CLA

I sent my Rolleiflex to Harry Fleenor for CLA March 4th. From the information on his website I also made contact with William Maxwell regarding an upgraded focusing screen to be sent directly to Harry Fleenor. William decided to call me and talk to me for over an hour about photography and Rolleiflex TLRs. It sounds like a lot of people buy a Maxwell screen due to user error rather than anything to do with the brightness of the focusing screen so he was calling to clarify that I wasn't suffering some other issues that couldn't be remedied with a new screen. In my case I just wanted a new screen.
In my initial communications with Fleenor, they suggested that the lead time was approximately 1.5 months so, on April 4th and having had no communication from either party, other than confirmation of receipt of my camera and diagnosis, I contacted Harry Fleenor asking if they were still on track to finish the CLA in two weeks time. They informed me that it may take another month (which is fine - I was a little slow in sending the camera to them so maybe I missed the quieter moment in their repair schedule). Fleenor also said that they had not yet received the Maxwell screen and suggested that I follow up with William about it. I replied to Fleenor that I would chase the screen but asked that they please proceed with the CLA and that I would install the screen myself if it did not arrive in time. After emailing Maxwell, he phoned me again explaining that he had been in touch with Fleenor regarding the CLA and, due to the fact that Fleenor was still a month out from completing the work, there was still plenty of time. Maxwell then went on to repeat his offer that I could phone any time for photography advice - a nice offer, but I would really just like him to make the screen I have paid a lot of money for. On May 7th I emailed Fleenor, asking for an update and the reply said they still had not received a screen from Maxwell. I replied, as per my previous email, could they please just continue with the CLA and I will install the screen myself.
I'm now getting worried that I will never see my replacement screen or be able to retrieve my money from Maxwell. I'm also hoping that Fleenor has actually been working on my camera rather than waiting for the screen in order to get started because I can't go another 2 months without my camera. I'm also disappointed at the lack of professionalism on all sides. No contact from either party without my first making contact with them. It is further frustrating that Fleenor has been waiting on the screen, seemingly without making contact themselves with Maxwell, despite Fleenor listing Maxwell as the best option for screen upgrades on their website. It would seem to me that, if Fleenor was going to endorse Maxwell, then some responsibility lies with Fleenor for making sure that Maxwell delivers a good and timely product, or to remove that recommendation from their website. I've sent another email to Maxwell but unsure of what to do next.
UPDATE: Fleenor reports they are week out from completing the CLA (minus screen), which is great, but I'm still concerned that I won't ever see the screen...

Madam President Part I:
Hello! This will be part of series i call "Madam President", Where Women lead America. Our first part will be Senator Margaret Chase Smith, a GOP Senator from Maine.
1964- Senator Smith has won the Republican nomination against Senator Goldwater, Ambassador Lodge, Governor Romney and Governor Rockefeller, becoming the first woman ever nominated in both major parties. Smith then chose Governor Nelson Rockefeller as her running mate, placating the Liberal Republicans. Smith then faced Incumbent President Johnson and a third party candidate, Alabama Governor George Wallace, running on pro-segregation. Wallace seeks an endorsement from Senator Goldwater but the Senator refuses and endorsed Senator Smith for President. Johnson faced two opponents and it was a battle between him and Governor Wallace. President Johnson had dismssed the candidacy of Senator Smith as 'non-serious', claiming that her Gender is a liability. Senator Smith ran on a fiscally conservative but moderate on Social Issues (she kept it lay low on the social issues). With Johnson and Wallace beating in the South, and his scandals regarding Baker Sol-Estes, In the end, it was an upset victory for Senator Smith as she is elected President of the United States, defeating both President Johnson and Governor Wallace, ultimately becoming the first woman becoming President of the country.
1968- Thanks to the lobbying of Vice President Rockefeller to the senate, the Civil Rights Act has been signed by President Margaret, with Voting Rights and the Fair Housing Act into Law. On Vietnam, Peace negotiations is on the horizon. This election was more of a referendum on civil rights and whether the government should be big (aka 'Great Society') or limited. Governor Wallace once again launched another bid for the presidency. One of his aim is to deadlock congress. His another: Repeal the Civil Rights and strengthen the so-called States Rights. On the Democratic side: Senator Humphrey won the nomination against Senator McCarthy and Senator McGovern. Robert F. Kennedy in this timeline chose not to run and continue to serve the senate. Senator Humphrey promises a continuation of the "Great Society" and more government fund programs and expand more on the Civil Rights. This election saw more votes and wins for Governor Wallace, and might have affected Senator Humphrey's chances of winning. With a growing economy, Peace on the way in Vietnam, President Smith is on her way to reelection, becoming the first woman to be reelected President of the United States.
