I don't think I'll ever be as successful as my older or younger sibling - they've always been much smarter than I am in every subject. Right now I'm doing A-Levels and I know I won't get grades like my older sister would've if it wasn't for her mental health, like I didn't get grades like hers in GCSEs. Now my younger sibling is about to do GCSEs next year, and he's doing so much better than I ever did, and my older sister is doing amazing in uni. Meanwhile I'm doing pretty awful in some of my mock exams, and it takes a TON of studying to even get a C, way more than my siblings have to - my first exam is tomorrow and I have this feeling I'll get a lower grade than I need. I know my parents love me but they're smarter than me in every way too, and probably were when they were my age.
It's not just that they're smarter than me but also my older sister can sing when I can't hold a note, act when I never could despite really wanting to be able to, my younger sibling can draw amazingly when mine look disgraceful, and I used to think I could write pretty well but it's nothing compared to what my younger sibling can write. They're also really charming and easy to talk to when I'm much more shy and awkward. I was bullied and generally disliked for years and even though now I'm in college (UK college, we call US college uni here) I get along pretty well with everyone, it basically took a whole year for me to be able to talk to my classmates properly and now soon whether I end up getting into one of my unis of choice or start a full-time job or retake instead, it'll probably take me forever to adjust again and be able to talk to people normally.
My siblings are better at me than anything I've ever tried. Church choir? I was awful, older sister was amazing, younger sibling was pretty good. Dance? I was terrible, but my older sister really should've stuck with it because she was great. Swimming? Both my siblings swim well, I'm terrible at it. Piano? I was stuck on my Prep Test for years while my siblings were doing grades. It has always been awful and humiliating, especially considering we were always in these activities at the same time. When I was younger, I remember never wanting to tell my younger sibling if I found something I enjoyed because if it was a game, he would immediately be much better at it than me, and if it was a hobby/interest, he'd begin understanding it or knowing it better than me right away. I also always dreaded racing my siblings because I'd always come last or anything even slightly sportsy as my coordination has always been nonexistent.
My younger sibling is also pretty great at sports while I can't even run in a straight line, and at the very least my older sister was great at netball. They're both much prettier than me - EVERYONE talks about how beautiful my older sister is, and she's really talented at fashion and make up; so many people must've been into her, and I've heard about quite a few. My younger sibling doesn't realise it but he's naturally really beautiful too - he's growing tall and he looks very athletic and handsome, and it's why so many of his friends and classmates have had crushes on him, along with his awesome personality. Nobody has ever really found me attractive in the way they find them attractive, and none of my relationships/situationships have ever resulted in any physical contact beyond a hug. They're also both way funnier than me, no matter how hard I try. Sometimes I worry our relatives might love them more than me because there is just so much more to love.
I know I might just be paranoid as I was bullied in primary school the whole time (partially due to being awkward and probably partially due to twitching my hands and pulling stupid faces when daydreaming - which happened way too often) and extremely unpopular in secondary school for pretty much the same reasons, having few friends and even fewer non-fake ones. But my siblings never got bullied - they were both pretty popular in primary school, and my older sister was in secondary school, too. My younger sibling isn't as popular but has massive friendship groups and could get along with pretty much anyone easily.
I want to think there is anything I can do that I might be good at that my siblings aren't, but I don't think it will ever happen for me. They are very talented and intelligent and beautiful and I love them a lot. Our parents are also much more smart and talented than me so I feel like I can't talk to them about it as they wouldn't understand.
I know my family loves me, but I'm not as good as my siblings and I just don't know how to deal with that

I've watched videos, but they all feel very context dependent on getting very similar pulls before they're all that useful, and honestly some times I feel like the supposed RNG in the game is rigged against me (literally EVERY random discard, exhaust, etc. ALWAYS takes the worst possible thing, if I pick a card that's dependent on a combo I almost never see the other pieces, cards you want multiple copies of like Claw, Dropkick, etc. I always seem to see one of and then never again, at least until I've commited to a different strategy, etc.)
I dunno what it is, but this game makes me feel like a moron. XD

I’m a hobbyist in the transition of starting up a part-time photography business. I’ve got about 20 family sessions under my belt and that’s the main area I’m passionate about, family and lifestyle photography.
I recently had an owner of a dance studio ask if I could photograph a dance recital in a couple of weekends. I let her know that I’m just starting out and have not done this before, she said she totally understood, this is nothing formal just looking for some candids of the recital, and she also thought it would be a good way to get my name out to families. She would like to pay me for my time but I’m hesitant since it’s my first time doing a shoot like this. Not sure how much would be fair to charge (it will be about 3 hours of my time)
I’m actually very excited and would be interested in learning about this type of photography, especially because my kids play sports and I would love to take photos of their games and recitals in the future.
My question is mainly about advice for shooting a dance recital, including gear.
Here’s my thought process: - I have a D750 which does well in low light scenarios. It will be dark and I’m sure flash will Not be allowed so I’ll be relying on best use of settings of my camera - In manual, I’ll play around with aperture and likely keep ISO on Auto, and will try to keep shutter speed fast at at least 1/500 if not more
Questions I have- - I only have a 35mm and 50mm lens, so likely will need to rent a zoom lens. Would 70-200 be a good option to rent? Will I be able to use this without a tripod and still get clear photos? - should I sit stationary in the audience, front and center, or plan on walking around? (It’s in an auditorium of a school)
Any advice is appreciated! I haven’t tried looking up YouTube videos but if anyone has a good one please send it my way :)

I’m London based and want to take my son to the last game of the season (school holidays in England, he will have finished exams). I want to buy tickets through the club but members only. There are plenty on reselling site like viagogo, which are more expensive and obviously more risky. Is membership checked at turnstiles or is it just a case of scanning tickets.

I have an 18 foot round above ground pool. 4 1/2 feet deep. Permanent pool. I was running a nice Hayward pump and filter system but a ball bearing is bad and I can’t afford the $1000 to replace that whole thing this year. So I bought
Intex 28633EG 2500 GPH Krystal Clear Cartridge Filter Pump System with 1,900 GPH Flow Rate, 110-120V GFCI, and Automatic Timer for Above Ground Pools
And ordered the adapter
GAME 4550 Filter hose Conversion Kit (For Intex & Bestway Pools)
So I could connect my non-threaded hoses to the Intex pump. But I am still having leaks and can’t figure out if I picked the wrong option or I’m missing something. I did get new metal clamps as well. It’s leaking from the adapter portion to the hose on the outlet from the pump. Can I use some kind of plumbing putty to fill a gap? I tried a small o-ring but it won’t stay put. That could be my user error though too. If an o-ring is the answer I’ll keep trying.
Would I be better off getting an adapter from my non-threaded skimmer to the Intex hoses? And if so what is it? I’m frustrated at this point of course. I’d FaceTime for help at this point 😂

Hi All, I’ve been dealing with a high conflict nex really kicked into full gear post divorce and custody battle.
Our 8 year old son has been in a loyalty conflict with his mother. She seems to be manipulating and recruiting him to inflict damage upon me. He is very impressionable and close to her and seeking of her approval. He will come up with reasons not to come over sometimes during my custody time that make no sense
A new development is that she will text my son when he’s with me, and she and him will send messages back and forth on the iPhone that get “unsent” . So basically you can see a whole communication start with “is your dad around?” , and he’ll say “no”. Then you see a bunch of text messages sent between the both that are “unsent”. All I can see is that they’re unsent. When this happens, my son will go to different areas of the house and do things like close the door. If I ask him, he’ll say he’s playing a game and wants privacy , and he’ll go to another area of the house.
The last time this happened his mom was texting him in secrecy, and it resulted in her picking my son up from school early, unbeknownst to me. The last time (a couple of days ago) that my son lied, telling me he was “playing a game and wants privacy”, I asked him what game he’s playing and why he needs privacy. He said it was a game where he needed to hear everything clearly. So I asked him to show me the game, of which did not exist, and he admitted he was lying. I asked him why and he said he wanted to keep his texts between him and his mom private. I told him he can text her whenever but there’s no reason to hide or be sneaky. I asked him to show me what he is hiding and it was a bunch of unsent messages as I said. I kind of stopped there and told him he cannot be lying to me, etc and that it’s not the right thing to do. That he needed to be honest to have the privilege of having a phone, of having privacy and essentially having autonomy. He understood and was apologetic.
I called out the ex for facilitating multiple patterns and instances of hidden communication, and she denied and blamed me for making him uncomfortable and did not address the hidden text messages or their purpose.
What can I do?! im feeling desperate as I can only fundamentally show my son he shouldn’t be sneaky and deceptive, but with his mom forming some secret coalition and loyalty , I am going to be fighting a powerful influence of his. How should I handle this with my son? How should I or should I try and handle this in court?

I, 20f and my bf, 18M have been dating for 7 months now, LDR. We both have depression. And horribly enough we both met each other the night we were planning on ending it. Since then I have tried really hard to improve on my issues since I want to be happy with him. I know our relationship kinda started off weird, we didn't know what the other was planning on doing that night until about 4 months into dating.
I stopped taking my anti-depressants because he hates them and was clear he didnt want me taking them. He goes to a psychologist and is un medicated as well. Our relationship started out lovely. At 5 months it got harder but I figured it was my anxious attachment style and that maybe that 'honeymoon' phase was over.
His depression started getting worse and the things I used to do for him no longer worked to help. NOTHING helps. And now, seven months in I feel basically single. I have a bf for about 30 minutes at night and that's it. I have been trying to help, offering to do things with him; watch a show together, play games he liked a lot, but he never plays games anymore bc its a 'waste of time' but all he does is lay in bed and watch tik tok all day. And still somehow manages to barely talk to me at all. He is still in school and no longer goes at all. I have offered even just calling him and we can just do our own things but I can just 'be there with him' or I could help him with his homework. He says no or ignores all of it.
For the last month I have been telling him how much I miss him, I love him and I feel so lonely. He played a game he used to like with me for about 30 minutes in return and made it VERY obvious he hated it and was NOT enjoying it at all. I'm not dating the same person anymore. So this morning at 2 am when we usually sleep I told him how I felt; that I feel like I'm dating a ghost. He spent the next 2 hours telling me reasons I should break up with him.
I know I'm not perfect, and I have made mistakes in this relationship. We almost broke up because we made plans earlier in the day at the 4.5 month point and as I have unmedicated ADHD I completely forgot and I have severe time blindness. It took weeks of apologizing and being obsessive about remembering everything for him to finally even consider doing something with me again. I get anxious the moment his behaviour changes, I try hard to stop it, I'm getting better at it but I know it has taken a toll. And even worse, I used to self harm and the first time he found out it was a day he did nothing with me at all and I felt horribly lonely and I have felt guilty ever since for making him feel like spending time with his friends instead of me could be wrong. I have apologized so much for this and said there is nothing wrong with spending time with other people and having fun and only sh once after that and have never done it again because I dont want to hurt him or myself because I love him. I know I have done horrible harm to this relationship. I'm sorry.
Is there anything I can do to help him? I want to help him so much. Am I just in a dead relationship? He wanted to marry me.

as yall may know, O Level examinations MT Paper 1 & 2 is coming up soon. And let's just say semester 1 has been quite chaotic and disappointing.. recently, I have lost all motivation to go to school and have skipped for about 3 days now.. and my disappointing WA2 results have left me in a state of utter dismay. Despite my potential, I find myself unable to put in the work and be dedicated..
I think I may have identified the problem - it's my phone addiction. My phone has become an incessant hindrance and has caused me to be perpetually engrossed in social media, videos, and games. This has led me to squander valuable time that could be used for studying. This compulsive behaviour has proven challenging to overcome.
Other than that, my Mother Tongue Language O Level papers are approaching, and I am beset with anxiety & nervousness. I know it is imperative to start revising, but I find myself helplessly succumbing to the allure of my phone instead.
I want to secure a place at a Polytechnic, but I fear that my procrastination, inaction and laziness may jeopardize my future. It is quite a disconcerting thought that is in my head.
I hope readers can provide some advice, guidance, and support on how I can overcome my phone addiction and start revising? What strategies can I use to maintain focus, self discipline, and motivation?

I have heard of other disabled people getting accommodations that allow for a little bit more leeway when it comes to deadlines for dissertations, etc, but I'm not sure about how to go about doing it? Or how to phrase it. If you have this kind of accommodation, or if you know someone who got it, what was involved? How did it go with your department?
I've been very nervous about asking for accommodations in grad school, but since my health has taken another dip I have decided to finally go through with turning my paperwork in. I'm waiting for my next follow up visit with my doctor (should be beginning of fall) to fill the paperwork back out and turn it in, so I'm trying to game plan. I can't find anyone posting about the process in detail though.
*Not going to go into detail on what my disability is aside from it's managed by a team of doctors about as well as it can be and I still don't have the physical capabilities of a healthy or abled person. It's whatever! Fucks with my life and annoying, but eh.

I have been depressed since 2 years (since class 12) because of many reasons not academics. Only if I decided to get help back then I think i would have performed good in drop year atleast, not much but a little atleast. I am happy I dragged my ass to a psychiatrist in Jan month, it did help me tremendously and I am not that suicidal anymore.. but to dayy i have regret of not visiting one already.
