2024.05.29 05:58 lizatethecigarettes [Christians only] Genuine question: Why is marriage so difficult and just plain bad so much of the time, if God created it to be good?

I've been married 5 years. No we don't want to divorce. I'm in counseling and we are currently looking for christian marriage counseling that's low cost or free (we are at poverty line). We are both believers.
We recently went to a Christian marriage conference. It was really good. Learned a lot but having trouble actually implementing anything.
But one of the things they said was that we can't look to our spouse to be Jesus for us. So I can't look to my husband to provide for every single need I have because he's an imperfect human. I need to look to the Lord as the One who fulfills me.
So that made sense to me. I get it. But then who should my husband be to me? And why get married at all? I know Paul said it was better not to. I agree with that. But God designed marriage so... I don't know how to put it any better... why does it suck so much?
I mean, it can't just be for procreation. Otherwise, He could've designed us differently. The only things I can think of is (because im not doubting that His design is wrong): 1. I'm definitely not having the marriage He has intended, like my husband and i are not doing a good job, which i guess is obvious but we dont know how to do better, or 2. It's a result of the Fall
Its just that it makes daily life 100% harder. It's constantly putting out fires of misunderstanding and anger on both sides.
We both really felt like God drew us together and wanted us to marry. I don't fully doubt that, but I'm starting to. But to be honest, I was afraid to stay single, for lots of reasons. I'm a complete coward and maybe I just should've worked on my fears and issues with singleness instead.
I love my husband but I know I make his life harder too. Sometimes I wonder if we were better off staying single. It's too late for that now. So I just wonder, what is this marriage that God has designed? Because I don't think I have that. This marriage is cutting years off my life I'm pretty sure. All these panic attacks, and heart palpitations. And for him too.
I'm seriously considering separation to help the marriage but I have no idea how we would do that or if it's what the Lord wants.
Why am I not seeing? What am I not understanding?

2024.05.29 05:53 Educational-Tank-856 The sabbath day

I know this may ruffle many feathers but it must be said again,
As I read in acts of the apostles, I am led to believe that they even after being called Christian’s still maintained the worship of God on the sabbath day and that this was a generally understood concept by all. It was never changed. When I googled when this concept was changed, I found this quote from Wikipedia;
“March 7, 321 On March 7, 321, however, Roman Emperor Constantine I issued a civil decree making Sunday a day of rest from labor, stating: All judges and city people and the craftsmen shall rest upon the venerable day of the sun.”
Why then do people disregard the sabbath if it is the day of the Lord our God who is Lord even of the sabbath? Which was never changed by him but by man, which was a commandment as all ten commandments of God. No, the sabbath day is not in the same line as the laws of Moses (ie clean and unclean foods, the yearly sabbaths of land or years of jubilee stuff) it is of the commandments written by God himself and is the only day in the week declared as holy and as a day reserved for God (and of course healing and emergencies as it shouldn’t be a burden and we shouldn’t be slaves to it) but ideally to rest and spend time with God, yet many people regard this as a burden instead of the blessing it is? The gift it is? To spend time with him who made you? Yes you can do that any other day, even everyday, yes, but what I mean is can’t you do that while maintaining the sabbath because God commanded and blessed it. God your provider and he who will deliver you from any conundrum you may be facing that is opposing your sabbath reverence. God knows your hearts and intentions, and his hand is not shortened to save when your intent is right. He set it aside for himself, for healing(because in healing there is rest), and communion with him.
Many argue we can choose any other day yet side eye it if it isn’t Sunday, yet there is no biblical basis of this day being changed and the early church still reserved Saturday because “love the Lord your God with all you heart mind and body”, and “if you love me you will obey my commandments” (not you will obey the law of Moses)….
I’m not here to make this sound like a burden or yoke on anyone, just curious why majority of Christian’s run with Sunday worship when clearly it wasn’t done by Christian’s in the Bible and that it was a concept made long after the first church was established without a biblical basis, is it because it is popular or because of ignorance or because of legality in your country (I remember some countries only rest on Sunday which is a growing trend, a scary one at that). No I am not saying you aren’t a true Christian if you do not worship on Saturday, of course Gods chosen can be found in every church,
I guess I’m here to ask, what’s your view of the sabbath, do you disregard it and only keep 9 out of 10 of the commandments?
Please don’t take away from the topic by bringing up “there’s other more serious issues to be concerned with.” Yes I know, there’s many, and there’s other posts for those. This like others is one of them and something to consider as well.

2024.05.29 04:20 CompetitiveDrop613 What do you think Lionheart and Saladin would make of our current ‘situation’?

Major waffle warning
I apologise as I admittedly stretched to make this relevant to this sub at all but I was interested to see people’s take on the subject here, given how it does indeed stem from history in which these two figures very heavily influenced at the time
I consider myself a moral (albeit mild) Christian, and I have no issue with the actual concept of immigration, diversity and so forth; it’s simply the very nature of the last century or so especially. Having studied economics at A-level and business at university (before dropping out in the final year for history; oopsies), I learnt all about globalisation and such which of course supports these very concepts and I simply can’t disagree to them
However, I’ll put it simply; illegal immigration, of any race or religion, is indeed illegal, and we should simply send these people on their merry way either back to where they came from or to wherever else they wish to take themselves but here (looking at you Calais)
There’s much social media outbursts (brainrot essentially) of our country’s ratios/percentages of diversity. We are still a country predominantly white Christian/white British; around 75/80% I believe. Our capital, and other cities, are always going to have a higher proportion of diversity, and we shouldn’t have issues with that matter in itself at all; so of course Inner London is only going to be around a third white etc
I live about 5 miles south east of Newcastle in a small village called Rowlands Gill; quite a decent estate that I specifically live in, just a street or two down from where one of the Hairy Bikers Si King used to reside, and asides for my Indian local barber, I genuinely cannot for certain guarantee any non-white person lives here, the entire village I’m talking, no joke. It just goes to show we need to look at our entire national breakdown of diversity to see, quite literally, the bigger picture
If we’re talking about such figures as Lionheart and Saladin, I think they were both rather reasonable (albeit heightened and sensitive at times) figures and examples of their respective religions, and would probably not be surprised at the extent England is in now, nor that of the Middle East (I’ll be quiet about Palestine because my views are inevitably going to contradict those of some others and vice versa)
Have I been called racist before? Absolutely. Have I been called anti-Muslim etc? Absolutely. Have I been told I favour white Christians over any other race or religion? Absolutely. Am I any of those things? No, I simply believe in putting good, reasonable yet still moral policies upon such immigrations; both illegal immigration and, well, immigration
Perhaps I apply to the latter of those three if anything, but I would expect absolutely anyone of any race and religion to be the exact same way regarding their country and their followers in faith; if you value both your God and your country, its history and its patriotism, you are not going to place its priority below others outside of it; that’s simply how it is
I’ll again admit I somewhat (or very rather) stretched the relevancy to the monarchy in order to post this here, but I was curious to see your take on the issues (of course ‘issue’ not always meaning a literal bad thing; there are some positive aspects to this I’m sure)
We are told to “love thy neighbours” (I have not read the entire Bible since I was a child so I’m not going to act like I’m an expert with any unique verses etc; hence my ‘mild’ Christian description) and I’d like to think I am a generally reasonable, soft, caring man on the inside towards anyone of any race, religion, general opinions etc, even if I tend to come off the rather opposite at times externally (I’m sensitive and take everything to heart and will admit to that)
I would always place God and Christians as ‘my people’ first, and no doubt I would expect Muslims, Jews and so on to do the same with their followers, and I don’t think that is wrong at all. However, that does not mean I’ve only ever been close to ‘my people’; at university for business my best friend was called Hussain from Bahrain (lol that rhymes), a very devout Muslim and I miss him dearly; I loved him from the very day we met. I remember one day we were literally discussing the prospects of these very issues arising here (and this was about 4 years ago); I remember he told me something along the lines of “I came here to a country of a different God, and because of this I and my fellow Muslims here must respect this land and its ways” and that is precisely the very logic I am going off; the words of a Muslim friend
I’ll put it like this; I love football; it’s one of the 3 cores of my 23 year life (well since a toddler anyway); football, history, and food (as in actual culinary aspects; I’m not that fat of a pig yet)…I support Liverpool. I’ve never lived there, I’ve only been a few times, and yet I support them; indeed an English team. Does that mean I automatically have no interest nor respect for rivalling clubs (except for cheating Manchester City breaching 115 accounts of finances) or even ‘hate’ these clubs in or out of England? No, absolutely not. I feel this same logic applies to the real world; real people and real religions.
Yes I’m patriotic and I don’t half waffle on about things, but we may as well say our thoughts rather than hiding them away within ourselves to no avail

2024.05.29 03:46 Powerful-Somewhere27 Failed surgical abortion please some advice

Pretty much a vent. I 19F found out i was pregnant from Boyfriend 20M quite quickly. I did one test (early) a day or two before my period was predicted, i had unsafe sex and took a plan B but obviously was already ovulating and to be fair i was being a bit young and dumb because afterwards we also had unsafe sex twice. The test was negative and i was relieved. Waiting with full hope for my period to arrive, it didn’t and a couple days after being late i took another one. I had crazy “im gonna have my period cramps” for a week now and i knew something was wrong normally when i get them its ALWAYS within two days. Suprise it’s positive.
100 emotions but also 0, i didnt take it all in. We called for an abortion appointment, she told us we were too early and needed to wait a week, we did. I was so scared, a million thoughts because it was conflicting it was the best choice but not one i wished for and I felt so much i was so overwhelmed.
Saturday, we go there fully prepared. Full on lies to my parents (they are christian and didnt know) planned the days after free. They told me it was too small (fetus) and needed to go back in a week. My boyfriend was going on a long planned holiday with his parents the next week (they also dont know). Now we scheduled for 2 weeks later. He said it’s even better because they are sure it will be big enough to remove succesfully… “successfully” but we’ll get into it.
7 weeks pregnant, the second try. I had AWFUL pregnancy symptoms, every single one nausea i couldn’t eat anything with the stress of puking and my family finding out. Horrible cramps every single day. Full alone and no one to talk to (only BF), physically and mentally suffering. Anyways we go back. Everything went super quick. Upstairs > room with other woman > i was the first one.
I was deadly scared and also have PTSD (sexually related but not by bf) which did NOT help also the Gyn was a male. They asked if i had any questions, i told them i know everything but am very scared. The gyn said to me “of course you don’t have any experience with it” which was wtf?! Very weird in my opinion. First they poke the needle 4 times before getting it right, great. I woke up hazy with the worst feeling in my life or so i thought i felt so extremely violated which probably is also partly my ptsd.
I felt relief because the symptoms like nausea disappeared. I was optimistic “the worst is the procedure” afterwards at least it’s “done”. Mentally punishing myself with shame, guilt, fantasies of what could’ve been. I know i needed to do this and it was the best choice but i was absolutely not happy about it, my mom was a teen mom so it was also a layer of understanding her pain and not hold grudges so much because she actually went through so much.
I immediately took a copper IUD. Two future apportionments. After 3 weeks checking if the abortion was successful and 6 weeks after (in total) if the IUD was placed correctly.
In these 3 weeks i was mentally at a low; no adults who i can go to, keeping it a secret, punishing myself and i need to pass all my exams otherwise i get kicked of the study and have literally no other life plan (uni psychology), the extreme guilt, mood swings well you get it. The SurgicalA was the most traumatic experience in my life the feelings of violation to my body were worse than when i got rxped. I was not a victim, this was my doing.
Here the story: physically i bled 1.5 weeks with heavy cramps they told my this was normal also considering the IUD makes it “worse”. It stopped bleeding although the cramps, mood swings everything was baaad. I got an yeast infection because of the antibiotics. Got something for that and i thought that must be it the cramps are just my IBS. 4 days later the bleeding came back in flows of none to heavy bleeding with heaaavy crampings. Clots and jelly like structured blood came out i knew something was wrong but told myself its the copper IUD.
3 weeks later check up (today) The did a pregancy test, i got called in the room and the first two words where “THE TEST WAS INSTANTLY POSITIVE” my heart SANK. “Could it be you’re pregnant again? Idk what you have been doing you should know” They did a vaginal ultrasound scan she told me it’s and incomplete surgical abortion. There’s leftover tissue she told my i was going to get heavy cramps and blood. If it’s not gone the second appointment/check up i need to do the D&C. I’m going to do the check ups at another clinic, they are not professional or helping the experience in any way. Literally died at the first words of POSITIVE PREGNANCY.
This is the worst i have ever felt. Something inside me died, the most traumatic experience in my life needs to be done again? AGAIN? I feel hopeless and extremely lonely. I am scared to death at even the possibility of going through this again. They told me maybe it’ll go away by itself but it’s been 3 weeks and the chances are really low. The cramps and bleeding are extreme, i am exhausted and a hollow shell of flesh. The school pressure is big, these 3 exams predict my future. I HAVE TO PASS. I have 0 energy and constantly need to fake how i feel with others. My BF is extremely supportive but i also feel like i’m bringing him down in this deep hole i’m sinking in. It’s been 11 weeks now of daily pain, scared he’ll get tired of me. I’m tired of me! I’m suffering physically and mentally and see no light at the end of the tunnel.
Now the reason i wrote this was to vent, but also i see none failed/incomplete surgical abortions only medical. Anyone with any advice/similar experiences? How did you and can i move forward.

2024.05.29 03:44 Darktryst777 Qs on Nicaea II, icons, and idolatry.

The strong language used in Nicaea II regarding how to become anathema is bizarre. I am not rejecting it, but would like clarification. It is not merely allowing for icon veneration but seems that we MUST have a certain degree of icon veneration. Language like 'those who do no diligently teach' or 'those who do not confess with their whole hearts that they venerate the sacred images'...are anathema. Text below. This is extreme language, and seems to indicate every Catholic must take these very overt actions in favor of veneration. I've never heard a Catholic say we have to do this to avoid being anathemized. It also commands us that if we have a 'doubtful mind' we are anathema. People don't control whether they have doubt, they control their actions and behavior.
Anyway, please tell me what is going on here? Am I automatically anathema if I don't go do all the things described here? Was flamboyant language used here simply to troll everyone calling it idols just so there was absolutely no doubt what the church's stance was? From what I'm reading here, any of us who do not dliligently teach all Christ loving people to venerate and kiss the sacred honorable images are anathema.
O all-holy lords! Let them who do not venerate the holy and venerable images be anathema! Anathema to those who blaspheme against the honourable and venerable images! To those who dare to attack and blaspheme the venerable images and call them idols, anathema! To the calumniators of Christianity, that is to say the Iconoclasts, anathema! To those who do not diligently teach all the Christ-loving people to venerate and salute the venerable and sacred and honourable images of all the Saints who pleased God in their several generations, anathema! To those who have a doubtful mind and do not confess with their whole hearts that they venerate the sacred images, anathema!

2024.05.29 03:19 Diligent-Leader6337 My honest rating of W. candidates by how much I like their music (SPOILERS FOR W. ) (duh).

Here's my honest ranking of all W. candidates by their music because I've finally listened to all of the songs. Sorry if the message is long, I just felt compelled to share these takes.
be warned, yapping and spoilers ahead (also this is my opinion so don’t lose your mind over it)
  1. Joe Lieberman: honestly IDK why they picked these "songs". If there's a thematic reason or whatever I definitely didn't catch it, and if I had to say anything I'd say they sound like a fever dream.
  2. Dick Gephardt: Here I must make clear that if there is a song for the Ventura endings, I haven't gotten to hearing it, so don't take that into account. Anyways, they're not bad songs, but I'm just not that big of a Tyler the Creator fan. Even still, I'll admit "Pigs Fly" has gotten stuck in my head at least once lol.
  3. Robert Byrd: I'm not too enthusiastic about Hustlin' and Hate Amerikkka, though thematically perfect with the final "twist" ending screen, doesn't really sound good enough for me to justify putting Amerikkka's favourite wholesome totally not racist old guy any higher.
  4. Killary KKKlinton: Crime Wave and Baptism are pretty catchy, but they're certainly not my preferred choice of music. Still, I find them enjoyable, and I'll admit they sound quite alright.
  5. Wesley Clark: Dare is a fantastic song, and by itself it’s probably in the mod’s top 10 best songs, but in my opinion M1 A1 takes too long to get to the good part, and even that I’m not the biggest fan of, so it offset’s the former song’s positive qualities to crash-land the general’s Chopper in this middle-of-the-road spot.
7.: Al Gore. I’m really sorry to put Gore down here, and I should clarify if we put these rankings in a scale of “likeability percentage”, the differences between these next three spots would be less than a full point. That being said, Empire is really good and fitting thematically, but Beautiful Enemy fails to back that up being more forgettable.
  1. Paul Wellstone: Green Day is always a safe bet, and 21 guns as a song where you lose fits like a glove. Walking Contradiction is also really good, but these songs in my opinion can’t really get as far as those down the list despite not having any major flaws.
  2. Hillary Clinton: Before starting this list, I really underestimated Hillary. I was planning on putting her by her evil self, because I thought she had a case of “first song good, second song bad” like Clark. I now see that i was wrong, and whilst Hallelujah is still the better of the two, a masterpiece in my opinion, I’m Not Ready to Make Nice does manage to stand its ground, and upon giving it several listens, I have gained newfound appreciation for it, particularly as it thematically matches with the political girlboss (I hate myself for typing that) herself.
  3. Al Sharpton: Sharpton’s songs have a more old-fashioned feel compared to almost all of the soundtrack, which, in my opinion, plays out really well for them. I’ll just say it’s a damn shame most of the time you won’t be listening to “Ain’t that a Kick in the Head”, let alone “The Party’s Over”, because you’ll wipe the floor with the man and the funny Bush song will start playing.
  4. John Edwards: Bad Day is perfect and Imitation of Life is really good. Not much to say here, it’s just a really strong duo of song choices.
  5. Gary hart: Both of his songs are really good, and the pun with “you’re breaking my heart” when you beat the man is honestly great. Also these two songs easily get stuck in your head, but in the best way possible.
  6. Ted Kennedy: Jesusland is a fantastic song, it fits thematically with Dubya’s leaning into the christian right. And of course Still is a perfect song for the canon ending of W. where Shrub is pretty much reduced to nothing as he sees everything crumble. Pure perfection if you ask me.

2024.05.29 02:13 Bruhmediumchocolate Am I going to hell?

Hey everyone. Basically I’m terrified of what’s to come for me. I was an atheist for almost five years up until a few months ago. I had left Christianity because I saw numerous issues with the Bible, and didn’t think there was any evidence of the resurrection. A few months ago I realized that the circumstances surrounding the resurrection accounts made it so that those who wrote about the resurrection at least weren’t lying, and that it was more likely that the resurrection really did occur. So I switched teams.
Anyway, I realized I had sinned a shit ton while I was an atheist. Particularly blasphemy. I even had an upside down cross tattooed on my body. I would mock god and call him a monster. I might have even turned someone away from Christianity. It was pretty bad. I accumulated a pretty big debt to god. Since then I’ve gotten my tattoo covered up, proclaimed that I’m a Christian now and try to present my case to anyone who’s willing to listen. Also I’m trying to get that person I might’ve turned away back into the fold.
Now that sounds great, except for one thing. I really do think I’m going to hell. And I’m terrified. I understand that John 3:16 says that all that’s required to go to heaven is to believe that Jesus died and rose again, and I do, but there’s so many other conditions for getting into heaven throughout the gospel and in Paul’s writings. Things like Mark 3:28-29. Will I really NEVER be forgiven for the eternal sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? Nobody seems to know what exactly that even means. Verses like Matthew 7:21 are concerning as well. So many verses that say “if you do this behavior, you WILL NOT go to heaven.” I’m doubting that having faith in Jesus is the only way I can get to heaven because there’s just so many other verses that seem to contradict that it’s by faith alone.
I’ve also read that in order to actually repent, I need to be genuinely sorry for wronging god, and not just trying to avoid going to hell. Here’s the problem. I’m not sorry for many of the sins I’ve committed. I want to be, desperately, but it’s not in my heart right now. And I think ill of God. I don’t want to, but I can’t help but feel like I’m morally superior to him. When I think of God I don’t think of a just, loving God. I think of a cruel God that commits atrocities and causes suffering on a massive scale. I’m even damning myself right now by saying that, but God already knows my heart and I can’t hide that from him. He knows I’m not sorry and that I’m just petrified of going to hell, he knows I don’t agree with his morals, and he knows I’m just in this for me. I have a rotten heart.
I pray to him every night asking for him to do these things in this order: I ask for him to change my heart so I can actually be sorry and repent, I ask him to give me guidance so I can understand his good character and his love, then I BEG for forgiveness, and finally ask him to give me peace. But peace hasn’t come. I feel like I’m gonna go to hell. I don’t know what I have to do. It’s not clear in the Bible what I have to do exactly. I was raised Protestant, but maybe since what I have in my heart is imperfect contrition, maybe I should go be a catholic and go to confession so I can be forgiven. I have genuinely no idea what I’m supposed to do now or where I’m going :(
That was long AF thank you guys for reading. Any advice is welcome

2024.05.29 01:42 AdamLuyan 11.4.4.1.4 Fundamental Annoyances

11.4.4.1.4 Fundamental Annoyances
Greed, irritability, ignorance, arrogance, suspicion, and ferocious views, the six laws are the basis of all annoyances, are all annoyances’ first juristic quadrant (cf. section 11.1), therefore they are called fundamental annoyances.
(1) Greed is the desire to stay in a favorable environment, to feel pleasure, or to think craving thoughts. In have environments or laughable environments, its nature is dyeing obsessions; its karma is producing bitter.
(2) Irritability is the thinks of anger and rage in response to adverse environments. In bitter or hostile environments, its nature is vexation and hate; its karma is the being depended for ferocious behaviors.
(3) Ignorance, is also known as non-light, is the foolish thoughts in response to adverse and adoptable etc. environments, is unreasonable thoughts in response to the bitter and laugh etc. acceptances. On affairs and theories, its nature is muddles and gloomy; its karma is the being depended for miscellaneously dyed laws.
(4) Arrogance, depending oneself more than others, its nature is lifting high, its karma is to produce bitter. There are seven types of arrogances: (A) Arrogance, holding inferiority as one’s own victory, holding equality as one’s own equality to lift heart high as nature. (B) Excessive Arrogance, counting equality as one’s own victory, holding victory as one’s own equality to lift heart high as nature. (C) Arrogance Transcending Arrogance, holding victory as one’s own victory to lift heart high as nature. (D) I Arrogance, randomly holding something in five nodes as I and mine to lift heart high as nature. (E) Escalatory Arrogance, in the case of proving laws which is due to special victorious “escalatory factor (cf. section 14.1)”, including having proved minor laws indeed, saying those unattained laws as “I have proved” to lift heart high as nature. (F) Self-Contempt Arrogance, to other’s extraordinary fortunes and virtues counting as oneself is little inferior or little lessor, in this way he or she lifts heart high as nature. (G) Heretical Arrogance, to factually oneself not having those fortunes and virtues, illusively counting as oneself having those fortunes and virtues to lift heart high as nature.
(5) Suspicion, on theories in Four Victorious Cruxes, its nature is hesitation; its karma is hindering those benevolences.
(6) Ferocious Views are upside-down inferencing theories of Four Victorious Cruxes, its nature is to contaminate gnosis, its karma is to produce bitter. There are five types of ferocious views: Seth View, Edge View, Heresy, View Fetch View, Precept Fetch View.

11.4.4.1.4.6-1 Seth View

Translocation Body View is I view, it is I in oral language, its nature is holding something among five nodes as I and mine, its karma is basis for all view interests. Its Sanskrit word is sakkāya-diṭṭh, the biblical as Seth, and the Mexican Nahuatl language is Titlacauan, which means that we are its slave, which saying is same to the modern German philosopher Hegel’s saying, “man is a slave to itself”. There are two common ways of unfolding the Seth matrix, one with twenty sentences and the another with sixty-five.
20 sentences of unfolding Seth by five nodes:
(1) Counting color node as I, I have colors, colors belong to me, I am inside colors.
(2) Counting acceptance node as I, I have acceptances; acceptances belong to me; I am inside acceptances.
(3) Counting think node as I, I have thinks, thinks belong to me, I am inside thinks.
(4) Counting migration node as I, I have migrations, migrations belong to me, I am inside migrations.
(5) Counting sense node as I, I have senses, senses belong to me, I am inside senses.
Of these five groups, the first is counted as subjective I, the remaining three are corresponding to the I, therefore, five of the twenty sentences are egos and fifteen are my objective views.
65 sentences of unfolding Seth by five nodes:
(1) Using color node as I, by other four nodes as assistants: I am colors, I have acceptances, acceptances belong to me, I am inside acceptances; I have thinks, thinks belongs to me, I am inside thinks; I have migrations, migrations belong to me, I am inside migrations; I have senses, senses belong to me, I am inside senses.
(2) Using acceptance node as I, by other four nodes as assistants: I am acceptances, I have colors, colors belong to me, I am inside colors; I have thinks, thinks belong to me, I am inside thinks; I have migrations, migrations belong to me, I am inside migrations; I have senses, senses belong to me; I am inside senses.
(3) Using think node as I, by other four nodes as assistants: I am thinks; I have colors, colors belong to me, I am inside colors; I have acceptances, acceptances belong to me; I am inside acceptances; I have migrations, migration belongs to me, I am inside migrations; I have senses, senses belong to me, I am inside senses.
(4) Using migration node as I, by other four nodes as assistants: I am migration; I have colors, colors belong to me, I am inside colors; I have acceptances, acceptances belong to me, I am inside acceptances; I have thinks, thinks belong to me, I am inside thinks; I have senses, senses belong to me, I am inside senses.
(5) Using sense node as I, by other four nodes as assistants: I am senses; I have colors, colors belong to me, I am inside colors; I have acceptances, acceptances belong to me, I am inside acceptances; I have thinks, thinks belong to me, I am inside thinks; I have migrations, migrations belong to me, I am inside migrations.
In each of these five groups of thirteen sentences, the first sentence in each group is ego, followed by four groups of my objective views. The three my objective opinions in each group of my objective views are each named: my tassel, my servant, and my vessel.

11.4.4.1.4.6-2 Edge Views (47 Heads)

Edge Obsession Views are also known as Edge Views, i.e., in which one goes along random obsessions of Severance, Permanence, Have, Nil, etc.; its karma is to hinder twelve growth places, four victorious cruxes, and ousting mundaneness. Severance view is obsessive view of severance and extinction, belong to nihilism. The Permanence view is obsessive view that the body and mind are permanent, and it belongs to the edge-view of have. The Nil views are Edge Views leaning to none.
(1) Permanence Theses (4 Heads)
A) A mutant (i.e., mundane people) enters meditation stillness (see Illustrations 11.4.4.1.4.6-1 to 8), gets to recall what has happened during the past 20 catastrophes, and counts those sentient beings as everlasting and indestructible.
B) A mutant recall what has happened since the past 40 catastrophes and counts those as permanent.
C) A mutant recall what has happened since the past 80 catastrophes and counts those as permanent.
D) A mutant with its swift intelligence or celestial eye (Celestial Eye, is bodily experiences to illustration 11.4.4.1.6-1 to 8), counts that present all sentient beings and mundane society are permanent.
(2) Both permanence and impermanence (4 Heads)
A) A sentient being died in Big God Sky (Fig. 11.4.4.1.4.6-8), came and reborn in this world, gained Fate Intelligence (Cf. Section 10.7, Fate Intelligence), and, viewing the former places he or she came from, says that they, the Great God Skies naturally have, and have always been permanent, but we are converted by them, therefore are impermanent.
B) Those skies, who had lost their stillness, died, and fell into this land for the sake of indulgence in games and laughs, then attained fate intelligence and knew where they had come from before, calculatingly said that the other beings, who did not laugh and indulge, are permanent there, that we, who play games and laughs, hence here the impermanent.
C) Those sky crowd, who are born with heart with dyeing desires, for which they have lost their stillness and disappeared in non-intermittent karma, later gained fate intelligence, calculatingly said, "Those skies who are without phenomena and dyeing, are permanently dwell, my kinds, born dyeing desirous hearts, are the cause of the impermanent birth and death.
D) A person with quick-wittedness, after discriminately meaning and calculation, counted that I and the mundane world as permanent and impermanent (i.e., God or soul is permanent, but the flesh body is not permanent).
(3) Have Thinks Theses (16 Heads)
(A) I have a color body after this and have thinks. (B) no color body but having thinks. (C) either having color or having thinks. (D) neither “having color and having thinks” nor “not having color and having thinks”. These are the four sentences of Think Node to Color Node.
(E) Counting that I die here, and then there is an edge border, and there are thinks. (F) counting that there is not edge border, and there are thinks. (G) counting that either “having edge and having thinks” or “not having edge and having thinks”. (H) Counting that “neither having edge and having thinks” nor “not having edge and having thinks”. These are the four sentences of Think Node to “Edge and Edgeless”.
(I) Counting that I end here, and then there are bitter and thinks. (J) Counting having laugh and having thinks.
(K) Counting that either “having bitter and having thinks” or “having laugh and having thinks”. (L) counting that neither having bitter and having thinks” nor “having laugh and having thinks”. These are the four sentences of Think Node vs. Bitter and Laugh.
(M) Count on my dying here, and then have one think. (N) Counting that there are several thinks. (O) Counting that there is a small think. (P) Counting that there is an infinite number of thinks. These are the four sentences of Think Node vs. Amount.
(4) Thoughtless Theses (8 Heads)
Thoughtlessness to Color Body: (A) after I die here, I will have color and no think; (B) either non-color or non-think; (C) either “having color and no think” or “no color and no think”; (D) neither “not having color and no think” nor “non-color and non-think”.
Thoughtlessness to Edge and Edgeless: (E) I end hereafter, edgeless borderless and no think. (F) edgeless and non-think. G) Either “having edge and non-think” or “edgeless and non-think”. (H) Neither “having edge and non-think” nor “edgeless and non-think”.
Since these are thoughtless theses, there are not the four sentences of non-think vs. bitter & laugh, nor are there the four sentences of non-think vs. amount, which eight kinds all are thought-inspired opinions.
(5) Neither Having Think nor Thoughtless (8 Heads)
The four sentences of “neither having think nor non-think” (Fig 11.4.4.1.4.6-1) to color, and the four sentences to edge, all are analogous to the Non-Think Theses available, and there are no four sentences of bitter and laugh, also not the four sentences to amount, also because of “neither having think nor non-think”.
(6) Severance Extinction Theses (7 Heads)
A) This body of mine, which was formed by the Four Big Seeds (i.e., four basic elements, cf. section 11.2), born of parents, and raised by food and clothing, is impermanent and will eventually perish.
B) This body of mine is not to be extinguished finally, is to be reborn in the Desire Boundary Skies (Fig. 11.4.4.1.4.6-9 to 15), which is to be finally extinguished.
C) Desire boundary skies’ body will not be extinct finally; I will be reborn with all roots (eyes, ears etc.) in color boundary’s skies (Fig 11.4.4.1.4.6-5 to 8), and when that recompenses are consumed, I will be extinct at last there.
D) In the lands of color boundary, I will not be extinct finally; I will be reborn in “Edgeless Empty Place” (Fig 11.4.4.1.4.6-4) in non-color boundary and will be extinct at last there.
E) In Edgeless Empty Place, I will not extinct finally; I will be reborn in Edgeless Senses Place (Fig. 11.4.4.1.4.6-3) and will be extinct there.
F) In Edgeless Senses Place. I will not be extinct finally; I will be reborn in No Objectively Have Place (Fig 11.4.4.1.4.6-2) and will be extinct there.
G) In Not Objectively Have Place, I will not be extinct finally; I will be reborn in “Neither Think nor Non-Think Place” (Fig 11.4.4.1.4.6-1), after that recompenses are consumed, I will fall apart and be extinct there at last.

11.4.4.1.4.6-3 Heresies (15 Heads)

The preceding Edge Views can be categorized into four types: firstly, obsessions to have, secondly, obsessions to nil, thirdly, either have or nil, and fourthly, neither have nor nil. The Heretical Views are those that slander the reality of cause and effect, as well as those that are not the front four views; there are four types of them: (A) Non-reason for Have; (B) Edge and Edgeless Thinks; (C) Non-death Making Chaos; and (D) Present Life Is Salvation.
(1) Non-reason for Have (2 Heads)
(A) Someone who was first born in Thoughtless Sky (annotation, it is the fourth sky of the four-meditation sky, aka Longevity Sky, cf. section 13.2.4), fallen and reborn among human society, and then practiced meditation, saw that no heart and no thinks of the previous life, conclude that mundane has no reason, only counting as have.
(B) Some people discriminate them with quick-wittedness, and conclude that the world has no reason, but obsessions as haves.
(2) Edge and Edgeless Thinks (4 Heads)
(A) Somebody enters stillness (i.e., meditation state), sees that the world has edge border, then raises edge view.
(B) Somebody enters stillness, sees that the world is edgeless, then raises edge-less view.
(C) Somebody enters stillness, sees that the world has edges in nadir and zenith, but in eastward westward southward and northward, it hasn’t edges; or in four directions the world has edges, but in nadir and zenith, it hasn’t edges, therefore he or she arouses both edge and edgeless view.
(D) There are those who, with quick-wittedness, observe the world and have the view that the world is neither having edge nor edgeless.
(3) Non-Death Making Chao (4 Heads)
Some mutants serve the sky whose name is non-Death. When those non-Death sky servers encounter people who ask affairs of the non-Death sky, the first type of people terrorize ignorance, the second type of people with a flattering heart, the third type of people who has a horrible heart, and the fourth type of people who is stupid; these are all kinds of pretentious answers.
(4) Present Life Is Salvation (5 Heads)
(A) Some people say that I am now in Nirvana (i.e., absolutely salvation) in this body. I am happy in the present five desires, this body is Nirvana, and there is no more Nirvana after this. This is saying that Desire Boundary (Fig 11.4.4.1.4.6-23) is Nirvana.
(B) Some refer to the Great God Sky (Fig 11.4.4.1.4.6-8) of Color Boundary as nirvana.
(C) Some refer to the Light Sound Sky (Fig 11.4.4.1.4.6-7) of Color Boundary as nirvana.
(D) Some refer to the Third Meditation Sky (Fig 11.4.4.1.4.6-6) of Color Boundary as nirvana.
(E) Some refer to the Fourth Meditation Sky (Fig 11.4.4.1.4.6-5) of Color Boundary as nirvana.

11.4.4.1.4.6-4 View Fetch (108 Heads)

View Fetch is short for “views abstracted from views”, which means that views and their rooting nodes are obsessed as the most superior, leading to immaculate Nirvana. Its karma is the basis for all conflicts. There are 108 types of View Fetches, and they are calculated as follows.
(A) For each of the six roots (eye-root, ear-root, nose-root, tongue-root, body-root, and intent-root) there are three kinds of acceptances (bitter, neutral, and laugh), which make up 18.
(B) For each of the six dusts (colors, sounds, smells, tastes, touches, and laws), there are three environments (favorable environment, neutral environment, and adverse environment), which make up another 18; together, they are 36.
(C) Experiencing the past, the present, and the future, which together amount to 108.

11.4.4.1.4.6-5 Precept Fetch

Precept Fetch is short for “views abstracted from precepts and forbiddances”, which means to obediently follow the precepts and forbiddances and their dependencies, and to hold them to be the best, according to them one can gain salvation. Its karma is the basis for non-profitable bitter of diligent labours.
Isn't it right to keep the precepts? It is certainly true that obeying the precepts is sequential liberation, but Precept Fetches refer to those who take precepts without understanding the precepts, and those who do not understand the reasons for the forbiddances, indiscriminately obey what they consider to be theories derived from the precepts and forbiddances, such as that monks do not eat meat, that there are temples in India that feed flies and mice in the streets, that Islamists and Christians practice circumcision, etc.

2024.05.29 01:38 Particular-Wedding What if Sicily Had Remained Under the Emirate Until the Time of the Ottomans or Even the Present Day?

At the beginning of the 8th century AD, Sicily was a Byzantine possession but through a series of wars and sieges eventually fell to Muslim forces in 965. But by 1091 AD, it was once more in Christian hands, although the story of how it got there was very interesting.
In the mid 1000s, the once united Emirate of Sicily had fractured into 4 competing Muslim kingdoms who waged wars against each other and even sent assassins to slay key officials. Basically almost as soon as they conquered the last Christian outpost, the various Muslim factions turned on each other. One of these factions eventually INVITED Norman mercenaries to help them in their struggle against their foes. This did not end well for these kingdoms as the Normans decided that after a while it would be more beneficial if they turned on their former employers and conquered the whole island for themselves. The last Muslim rulers were either slain, exiled, or forced to convert to Christianity similar to the way that the Spanish and Portugese rulers would so in the 14th and 15th centuries.
During their roughly 200 years in power, the Emirate of Sicily remained a vibrant and wealthy island which took full advantage of its geographic location in the heart of the Mediterranean to benefit from trade. It was also a hub of war, both in Sicily itself, or as a byway for troops on the way to the Crusades in the Middle East. Christians and Jews were more or less tolerated but were required to pay the jizya. Mercenaries of multiple faiths often fought together (Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and Sunni Muslim) united only by their love of gold.
How would a Muslim majority Sicily affect the development of history if it remained in power until the advent of the Ottomans? What about further along in history?

2024.05.29 01:21 travelingprincess The Obligation of Asking for Evidence for Rulings

It is obligatory upon the questioner to ask the scholar for evidence when he is issued a Fatwa.
Shaykh Muhammad bin Umar Al-Amari حفظه الله (teacher in Masjid An-Nabawi) said (using only evidences from the Qur'an alone):
  1. Allah commanded all laymen and scholars to inquire about evidence when someone speaks about Allah, His Deen and His Prophet ﷺ. Allah said:
[They are] eight [in four] pairs: a pair of sheep and a pair of goats. Say, “Has He forbidden the two males or the two females, or what the wombs of the two females contain? Tell me on the basis of knowledge if you are truthful.” —Surah Al-An'aam 6:143
  1. Allah commanded us to inquire about the evidence if someone issues a ruling by claiming that Allah addressed it in His Deen via His Speech. Allah said:
And they say, “None will enter Paradise except a Jew or a Christian.” That is their wishful thinking. Say: “Produce your proof, if you are truthful.” —Surah Al-Baqarah 2:111
  1. Allah commanded us to inquire about the evidence if someone issues a ruling by claiming that Allah addressed it in His Deen via His Actions. Allah said:
Or have they taken other gods besides Him? Say, “Bring your proof. Here is the Book of those who are with me, and the Book of those who came before me.” Yet most of them do not know the truth, so they turn away. —Surah Al-Anbiya 21:24
  1. Allah commanded us to inquire about the evidence if a claim is attributed to Allah. Allah said:
Is there any god besides Allah? Say, “Produce your evidence if you are truthful.” —Surah An-Naml 27:64
  1. Allah commanded us to inquire about the evidence if anything comes under the heading of Halal and Haram. Allah said:
Say [to the pagans], “What do you think about the provision that Allah has sent down to you, of which you made some unlawful and some lawful.” Say, “Has Allah given you permission or are you fabricating lies against Allah?” —Surah Yunus 11:59
These were some evidences in the Qur'an on the obligation of asking for evidence. As for the Madhabis, the following points of theirs are in need of being addressed.
  1. The Ashab ul-Rai (people of opinions) narrated from the Ashab ul-Rai:
"Whoever did not reach the level of Ijtihad, upon him is to do Taqlid (blind-follow) an Imam (i.e. not inquire about any evidence)."
  1. The Ashab ul-Rai (people of opinions) narrated from the Ashab ul-Rai:
"The layman does Taqlid of the Mufti."
  1. The Ashab ul-Rai (people of opinions) narrated from the Ashab ul-Rai:
"As for the Mujtahid Imams, they were allowed to practice this religion according to their opinions (which Islam originally prohibits) due to them reaching the level of Ijtihad (i.e. this makes them immune from being questioned about any evidence)."
  1. The Ashab ul-Rai (people of opinions) narrated from the Ashab ul-Rai:
"The Mujtahid Imam can issue verdicts using his opinions, and it is obligatory upon everyone who does Taqlid of this Imam to obey him."
So we find that these people made permissible that which Allah prohibited in Islam.
📚 from Allah Has Informed Us About Purification (p. 28-33)
The above is summarized by Ustadh Tahir Munir—The Shaykh cited over 15 Ayat to prove the obligation of asking and answering based on evidence. He (Ustadh Tahir) continues:
What is the take-away from all of this?
  1. Don't feel shy of ever asking for a Daleel from a scholar if you ask him a question and he answers it with a bland "yes/no" without any evidence.
  2. If you ask a scholar for a Daleel and he doesn't answer you or says "above your paygrade/you won't understand", don't be disheartened and ask Allah to forgive him, for that scholar has the disease of arrogance in his heart, for his job is to make the Daleel understandable for you.

2024.05.29 01:02 Interesting-Usual451 Christianity & the Roman Empire vs Modern Day Understanding of Homosexuality.

Christianity & the Roman Empire vs Homosexuality.
Understanding the Term "Arsenokoitai" in Biblical Context
‐--------------------‐--------------------‐--------------------
The term "arsenokoitai," (Greek origin) often translated in modern Bibles as "homosexuals" or "men who bed men," appears in the New Testament, specifically in the letters of Paul, written during the first century AD. Understanding its historical and cultural context can shed light on its meaning and implications.
Summary of Linguistics and Paul's Use of "Arsenokoitai" ‐--------------------‐--------------------‐--------------------
Paul’s Use of "Arsenokoitai":
The term was likely intended to cover a broad range of sexually immoral activities, particularly those involving exploitation and abuse, rather than consensual same-sex relationships. Paul could have used more precise words in Greek to describe the roles of male on male sexual contact which are highlighted below:
Alternative Greek Terms:
Used to describe effeminate men or those who took on a passive role in sexual relationships, often derogatory.
Another term for men in passive sexual roles, also used pejoratively.
Referred to boys in pederastic relationships with older men.
Terms describing the active (older) and passive (younger) partners in pederastic relationships.
Reasons for Using "Arsenokoitai":
Paul wrote in Greek to reach a broad audience across the Roman Empire, including both Jews and Gentiles. The Greek language allowed him to communicate effectively with diverse communities.
Paul’s teachings were influenced by Jewish law and ethics, which condemned exploitative sexual behaviors. The term "arsenokoitai" may have been derived from the Septuagint (Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible) to address behaviors seen as immoral.
By coining a new term, Paul could address various forms of sexual immorality without getting entangled in the specific cultural nuances and roles emphasized by existing terms. This allowed him to focus on ethical behavior broadly, aligning with Christian values of justice and protection of the vulnerable.
Time Frame and Historical Context ‐--------------------‐--------------------‐--------------------
The term "arsenokoitai" appears in 1 Corinthians 6:9 and 1 Timothy 1:10. These letters are generally dated to around 53-54 AD for 1 Corinthians and the late first century AD for 1 Timothy.
This period falls within the early Roman Empire, which began in 27 BC and continued through the first few centuries AD. The Roman Empire was characterized by its vast influence over the Mediterranean region and beyond.
Roman Practices and Power Dynamics ‐--------------------‐--------------------‐--------------------
Bathhouses were social spaces where various interactions, including sexual encounters, took place. These settings often saw exploitative and coercive behaviors, especially involving slaves and lower-status individuals.
Exploitation and Violence ‐--------------------‐--------------------‐--------------------
Many slaves and prostitutes in Roman society faced sexual exploitation and violence. Slaves, having little to no autonomy, were particularly vulnerable to abuse from their masters.
Early Christian and Jewish Ethics ‐--------------------‐--------------------‐--------------------
Early Christian and Jewish teachings emphasized the protection of vulnerable individuals. This ethical stance contrasted sharply with many practices in Roman society.
The condemnation of "arsenokoitai" in the New Testament can be seen as a critique of exploitative sexual practices rather than a blanket condemnation of consensual same-sex relationships. Early Christian ethics sought to promote justice and protect those who were marginalized and exploited.
Translation Challenges and Modern Psychology ‐--------------------‐--------------------‐--------------------
Modern Interpretations:
Translating "arsenokoitai" as "homosexuals" in modern Bibles can be misleading. The term originally addressed specific exploitative behaviors prevalent in the Roman context.
Cultural Misunderstandings:
Modern readers often project contemporary understandings of sexuality onto ancient texts, which can distort the original meanings and intentions. The ancient concern was more about justice and protecting the vulnerable than about regulating consensual sexual relationships.
Influence of Modern Psychology ‐--------------------‐--------------------‐--------------------
The term "homosexual" first appeared in an English Bible translation in the Revised Standard Version (RSV) in 1946. This change was part of an effort to modernize and clarify the language of the Bible.
The mid-20th century was a period of heightened social conservatism, especially in the United States. This cultural backdrop influenced how sexual behaviors were viewed and classified.
Homosexuality as a Mental Disorder ‐--------------------‐--------------------‐--------------------
In 1946 and 1947, homosexuality was classified as a mental disorder by the American Psychiatric Association (APA). This classification reflected contemporary psychological theories and societal attitudes, viewing homosexuality as a deviation from the norm.
Different Types of Relationships ‐--------------------‐--------------------‐--------------------
While the term "arsenokoitai" focuses on specific sexual acts, it does not address the broader and more nuanced aspects of relationships. Understanding the different facets of relationships is crucial to recognizing the limitations of this term.
Emotional Bonds: Many relationships are built on deep emotional connections, mutual respect, and love. These aspects are not explicitly addressed in the term "arsenokoitai."
Relationships often involve support, companionship, and shared experiences, which are fundamental to human connection and go beyond mere physical interactions.
Romantic relationships involve expressions of love, care, and affection. These elements contribute significantly to the depth and richness of the relationship.
Many romantic relationships are characterized by commitment and a shared vision for the future, aspects not considered in the term "arsenokoitai."
The Bible does not provide detailed accounts of consensual same-sex relationships that reflect the complexities and multifaceted nature of these bonds. The focus on specific sexual acts, like those implied by "arsenokoitai," fails to capture the entirety of such relationships.
Intimacy ‐--------------------‐--------------------‐--------------------
Intimacy in relationships goes far beyond physical acts; it encompasses emotional closeness, trust, and deep personal connection. The biblical texts, particularly those using terms like "arsenokoitai," often fail to address this broader understanding of intimacy. In healthy relationships, intimacy is about sharing one's innermost thoughts, fears, and dreams with another person, creating a bond that is both profound and nurturing. This kind of intimacy fosters mutual respect and understanding, essential components of any loving relationship.
One crucial aspect of intimacy that is often overlooked and overshadowed by the focus on "arsenokoitai" is emotional intimacy—the deep sense of acceptance and validation one receives from being truly known and loved. This emotional intimacy is weaponized when biblical texts are used to condemn and marginalize individuals based on their sexuality. Instead of fostering acceptance and emotional closeness, these interpretations create barriers and promote exclusion. True intimacy, rooted in emotional acceptance, is about affirming each other's worth and creating a safe space for vulnerability and genuine connection. When this form of intimacy is ignored or denied, it undermines the foundational principles of love and compassion that should guide our relationships.
Love ‐--------------------‐--------------------‐--------------------
Love is the cornerstone of all meaningful relationships and a central theme in Christian teachings. Jesus emphasized love above all else, teaching us to love our neighbors as ourselves and to show compassion and kindness to everyone. In the context of relationships, love manifests as unwavering support, care, and dedication to the well-being of the other person. The term "arsenokoitai" and its traditional interpretations often miss this crucial aspect of relationships. Love is not just about physical attraction or acts; it is about forming a deep, abiding connection that transcends superficial differences and challenges societal norms. True love, as taught by Jesus, is inclusive and unconditional, celebrating the uniqueness of each individual and their right to love and be loved authentically.
Judgment ‐--------------------‐--------------------‐--------------------
Judgment is a significant theme in both religious teachings and societal interactions, often influencing how individuals are perceived and treated. In the context of biblical texts, particularly those like "arsenokoitai," judgment is frequently wielded as a tool for exclusion and condemnation. Jesus taught us to refrain from judging others, emphasizing that judgment is reserved for God alone. In Matthew 7:1-2, He clearly states, "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
When interpretations of terms like "arsenokoitai" are used to judge and condemn individuals based on their sexuality, they stray from the core message of love and acceptance that Jesus preached. This kind of judgment creates divisions and fosters a culture of exclusion, where people are marginalized and denied the dignity and respect they deserve. True Christian teachings call us to embrace others with compassion, understanding, and an open heart.
Judgment, when misused, can be a powerful weapon that inflicts deep emotional and psychological harm. It stands in stark contrast to the values of love, intimacy, and acceptance that form the foundation of healthy, meaningful relationships. By moving away from judgment and towards a more inclusive, compassionate approach, we honor the true spirit of Jesus's teachings and create a more loving and just world for everyone.
Historical Misinterpretations and Their Consequences ‐--------------------‐--------------------‐--------------------
  1. The Crusades (11th to 13th Centuries)
Initiated by Pope Urban II in 1095, the Crusades were a series of religious wars aimed at reclaiming the Holy Land from Muslim control.
Impact: Led to widespread violence, loss of life, and long-lasting animosity between Christians and Muslims. The Crusades also had significant impacts on Jewish communities, which were often targeted by crusaders.
  1. The Inquisition (12th to 19th Centuries)
Established by the Catholic Church to root out heresy and enforce orthodoxy. The most famous was the Spanish Inquisition, beginning in 1478.
Resulted in the persecution, torture, and execution of thousands of people accused of heresy, witchcraft, and other religious crimes. Jewish and Muslim converts to Christianity (conversos and Moriscos) were particularly targeted.
  1. The Thirty Years' War (1618-1648)
A complex and destructive conflict involving many European powers, rooted in religious disputes between Protestant and Catholic states within the Holy Roman Empire.
Impact: Caused immense suffering and loss of life, with significant political and territorial changes in Europe. The war ended with the Peace of Westphalia, which established principles of religious tolerance in Europe.
  1. Salem Witch Trials (1692-1693)
A series of hearings and prosecutions of people accused of witchcraft in colonial Massachusetts, driven by Puritan religious beliefs and interpretations of the Bible.
Impact: Led to the execution of 20 people and the imprisonment of many others, creating an atmosphere of fear and hysteria.
  1. Colonialism and Missionary Activity
European colonial powers often justified their expansion and domination of indigenous peoples through a religious mandate to spread Christianity.
Impact: Led to the suppression of indigenous cultures, forced conversions, and significant social disruption. Examples include the Spanish colonization of the Americas and the British colonial activities in Africa and Asia.
  1. Anti-Semitism
Biblical interpretations and teachings have historically contributed to anti-Semitic attitudes and policies. Notably, Jews were often blamed for the death of Jesus and portrayed negatively in Christian teachings.
Impact: Led to widespread persecution of Jewish communities, including pogroms, expulsions from various European countries, and ultimately contributing to the Holocaust.
  1. Slavery and Racism
Certain interpretations of the Bible were used to justify the enslavement of African people, particularly in the United States. Verses from the Old and New Testaments were cited to argue that slavery was a divinely sanctioned institution.
Impact: Justified the transatlantic slave trade and the systemic exploitation and oppression of African Americans, leading to deep social and racial divides that persist to this day.
  1. Wars of Religion in France (1562-1598)
A series of conflicts between Catholics and Huguenots (French Protestants) in France, rooted in religious and political disputes.
Impact: Resulted in significant violence and upheaval, including massacres such as the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre in 1572, and ended with the Edict of Nantes, which granted limited tolerance to Protestants.
  1. Northern Ireland Conflict (The Troubles) (Late 20th Century)
A violent conflict between primarily Protestant unionists who wanted Northern Ireland to remain part of the United Kingdom and Catholic nationalists who wanted it to join the Republic of Ireland.
Impact: Led to decades of violence, terrorism, and social division, resulting in significant loss of life and lasting political tension.
These examples illustrate how interpretations of the Bible and religious authority have been used to justify conflicts, persecutions, and social disharmony throughout history. Understanding these events highlights the importance of careful and compassionate interpretation of religious texts to prevent their misuse and promote peace and understanding.
Conclusion ‐--------------------‐--------------------‐--------------------
Understanding the term "arsenokoitai" requires a deep dive into the historical and cultural context of the Roman Empire and early Christian teachings. This term likely referred to exploitative sexual behaviors common in Roman society, characterized by significant power imbalances and a lack of genuine consent.
Early Christian ethics, rooted in Jewish traditions, emphasized protecting the vulnerable and promoting justice, which helps explain the biblical condemnation of such practices.
The translation of "arsenokoitai" to "homosexuals" in the mid-20th century was influenced by the social and psychological context of that time, including the classification of homosexuality as a mental disorder.
This historical perspective highlights the importance of considering cultural and temporal contexts when interpreting ancient texts. Moreover, the biblical texts focus primarily on specific sexual acts rather than the broader aspects of relationships, such as emotional bonds, romantic love, and mutual support. Recognizing these dimensions is crucial for a more compassionate and comprehensive understanding of relationships.

I met my girlfriend 5 years ago, she came from a poor background, divorced parents, lived with her father in a mobile home. I grew up upper middle class, nice home, etc. Her parents loved me and thought I was the best thing ever since she only went out with trashy guys, drug dealers, etc before me. She was open that she didn't understand why I loved her, but she was genuinely sweet and a good person and I was open that I date for personality and not money etc. She moved in with me after a few months and everything was perfect for 4 years, we both got better jobs and she always said she hopes I never leave her and I genuinely never had doubts with her. I've had 3 longterm partners before her and all of them at the 3 year mark things got a rough patch, but this one I only fell more in love with. I was raised Catholic but my family never practised it or went to church except once when I was super young and was open to my parents its not my thing and they never took me again and she wasn't religious in her adult life at all. Mental health issues also run heavy on her moms side of the family. She also states she is terrified of pregnancy and never wants kids except adoption, I want kids and agree we can just adopt.
Fast forward to November 2023 (4.5 year mark of being together) she has minimal friends that haven't moved away yet and no hobbies, she volunteers and takes a 2nd job at a Christian horse camp for kids which is whatever, and is open that she wants to get married so I go looking for an engagement ring. She also wants to experience "living alone" and buys a condo which she says will be a 1-2 year thing then she will move back in with me and we get married, whatever. She is open that there is Christian elements in this church and she doesn't know religion at all and is worried, I told her she can figure it out im sure and im sure its more horse based and not religious. Later, she meets a friend there same age as her who is Pentecostal Christian and invites her to the Pentecostal church. I took religious studies way back in HS and am aware Pentecostalism is basically a cult, preys on the mentally weak, and focuses on believing everything is a "miracle if you pray for it to happen" and relies on recruiting people to follow. My parents, parents friends, her father, and myself are open to her this new friend seems like bad news and so is this church but she says we're paranoid. By January 2024, her entire house is FILLED with religious pictures, quotes, etc, she goes to church 2x per week, spends 1-2 hours a night studying the bible, and non-stop talks about religion. She was never into physical intimacy really but at least slept naked, we had sex 2-3 times a month, and showered together often which was enough for me. January 2024-March 24 is 0 sex, wearing a hoodie and all covered up to bed, wont even let me see her in underwear, etc ontop of CONSTANTLY hounding me to go to church with her, I repeat that church is not my thing and I don't believe religion and politics should be kept anywhere but internally in your mind and heart. Huge red flag of changes within months just due to this friends influence. We almost break up March 2024 and I say this religious stuff needs to cool off and I can't live without SOME physical intimacy and sex. She apologizes, cries for 2 days straight, says the religion will cool off and sex will come back and begs me to not break up with her. I was open that if things do get better we can work this out. She still continues to be off and believes everything is a "miracle" due to prayer etc and myself, her father and my mom are all thinking wtf. I thought her dad wasn't THAT concerned and just let it be. We later watched videos of the pastor at this church that speaks to her, and he's fullblown nutjob screaming into a headset preacher crazy. She also denies Pentacostalism is different than any other religion, yet a simple Google search confirms it's extreme and ironically this church tries to hide it's Pentacostal and tries to reiterate it's a "community church"
Fast forward to last week (May 21), still 0 sex, let me shower with her once while being super apprehensive about it, still wildly religious, and she gets baptized in this Pentecostal church. Her and her friends/church members are around a tank that says "New Life" on it while praying in a circle around her in the tub, her father and me stay seated in the back checked out and mortified. 3 days ago (May 25), I tell her i'm concerned she's getting more deeply religious and our relationship is still struggling and I can't live without physical intimacy as I was open with in March, even if it's 1-2 times a month. She cries, apologizes and says it will get better. Saturday May 25, I stay overnight with her at her condo, she promises sex May 27 and says she wants it, starts crying she is having a "crisis of faith" and doesn't know if god is real. She then states she will be going to church Sunday, May 26 still and right before church says she loves me and is glad we are working through our issues and we should go on a trip the next week, and also states she now wants 2 biological children (after wanting none for 4.5 years, wtf). Right after church, boom she says the pastor "said something that is too coincidental to be one off, has helped her make her decision, we're now breaking up permanently". I reply it's her choice but this Pentacostal church is a fucked cult IMO, her friend that got her into this is bad news, and I think she is having a mental health crisis and that she needs help. She just keeps reiterating that everyone is irrational that Pentacostalism is a cult, she's happy now, and this is it but wants to be friends. I tell her im cutting contact and won't remain friends and need to move on with my life. I reach out to her dad who is completely shocked, says he fully agrees she needs medication and not religion, says her friend that got her into this is bad news and tells me to not chase her, i'm a good man, cut my losses and run because she has lost it, and said at least this happened before I proposed this year.
Is Pentacostalism really that bad and will it affect someone to this degree? She literally was normal for 4.5 years, fully loved me, said she would die if i ever break up with her, etc until her friend got her into this Pentacostal crap and suddenly she goes from begging me to not leave to kicking me to the curb after a 1 hour church session with this pastor. I was open to her father that this is a mental health crisis being fed into by her friend and church and he fully agrees, I notified him I worry she will be suicidal when she wakes up from this brainwashing and realize I won't be willing to take her back at this point and he notified he will keep in contact with her to keep her safe even though they are on bad terms now from all this. I've been through my share of breakups over the decades and will be okay getting through this especially with it being her choice, but the degree this church mindwarped her has me baffled.

2024.05.29 00:27 JesusLovesUPraying4U The Reason Jesus Criticized the Pharisees so Heavily

In my interactions with various parts of the christian sphere, I've seen a lot of different opinions on this. I believe the analysis below is the most faithful understanding and interpretation of the Lord's interaction with the Pharisees and religious leaders-

Man-Made Traditions:

The Pharisees created their own system of laws to avoid breaking the Law of Moses. This system became a burden and a distortion of God's original intent. Their focus shifted from a heart of obedience to a rigid adherence to human traditions. Jesus criticized this because it led people away from the true spirit of the Law.

Misunderstanding Repentance:

John the Baptist was baptizing Jews, calling them to repentance. The Pharisees were puzzled by this because they believed their adherence to their traditions made them righteous. John's baptism was a call back to the true essence of the Law of Moses, highlighting the need for genuine repentance and transformation of the heart.

Purpose of the Law:

The Law of Moses was given not to make Israel righteous, but to reveal their sinful state and their need for a sacrifice for sin. The Pharisees missed this crucial point. They saw the Law as a means to achieve righteousness through their efforts. Jesus pointed out that the Law was meant to lead them to recognize their need for God's grace and the ultimate sacrifice—Jesus Himself.

Key Takeaways:

  1. True Obedience: Focus on the heart and spirit of the Law, not just external adherence to traditions.
  2. Repentance: Understand that true repentance involves a transformation of the heart, not just outward rituals.
  3. Need for Grace: Recognize that the Law reveals our need for God's grace and the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus for our sins.
Jesus' heavy criticism of the Pharisees was a call to return to the true intent of God's Law: a relationship based on love, repentance, and grace, not merely external compliance.

2024.05.29 00:05 neonpinkparty Mending a strained relationship

I’ve been with my boyfriend for a while now. We both believed that we were soulmates and we were going to be together forever. Just recently I discovered he has matched with a girl on a dating app and had been talking to her and had met her in person once. No physical contact, but it still broke my heart. My boyfriend is the first person I’ve ever been close to who has bipolar.
After finding out he broke down and admitted he hasn’t been on his meds for months. I did some research and found that cheating is somewhat common during manic episodes. We both talked and came to an agreement that he will get back on his meds and go to therapy, or else we are over. He will never so much as download another dating app again or we are over.
We are both Christian. We agreed that we would both do Bible study together because I believe the Bible has a lot of important things to say about relationships. If anyone could point out some important verses I could share with him I would appreciate it. How can we use our shared religion to get closer to each other?
Does this seem like a reasonable conclusion? I genuinely believe he wants to change and that he deeply regrets what he did. If anyone knows anything that could help I would appreciate it.

2024.05.28 23:43 Space_Raven_259 To all those thinking about ending “it”.

Hey, your pain and suffering is valid. Nobody can fully understand what you’re going through except GOD. While men see the outside, GOD sees your heart. HE sees your pain. HE cries when you cry. HE is always holding your hand, even when you don’t feel it.
If you are thinking about ending “it”, consider this:
You will arrive to that point eventually. We all will. Why rush your journey? Eternity waits for you on the “other” side, regardless of how soon you arrive.
You may be in pain, but you must ask yourself:
Why must “it” end today?
“It” does not have to end today or anytime soon.
We all will have plenty of time on the “other” side. But today is extra time. “Now” is extra time. It is this time that determines how our eternity is spent.
I myself have had a paranormal experience when I was young. I saw something that was not of this world. It was not a pleasant creature and it scared me to my core. It taught me one fact that I will always carry with me: “This world, is not the only world. We are not alone.”
I then decided to embrace my dwindling christian faith because I saw something “bad” from that other side and wanted to be a part of something that was “good” in that other world.
Just remember, if you don’t believe in GOD, believe in HIM. Chances are you will regret it. Logically, you can’t lose.
If you do believe in GOD, good for you, but remember what the book of revelation shows. It shows a very wild world beyond this world. Even in Heaven, there are very different creatures than we see here.
This world is a “relatively” stable place, don’t be so eager to leave.
Nevertheless, you are a wonderful and beautiful soul. GOD is real and truly is by your side.
I personally will pray for each and every one of you. I ask all my christian brethren to do the same.
If you ever want to talk, message me.
I’m not perfect either. I have my own problems with finances, work, college, self esteem, social anxiety, gender dysphoria, family issues, personal health and general fear of life.
I have not gone through what you are going through, but I am another soul here in this world with you. Don’t be shy. Reach out. You at the very least shouldn’t suffer alone.
May GOD bless you to the greatest extents and give you peace in your life. ✝️❤️

2024.05.28 23:37 BryanKTew ORGANIZED STALKING IN & AROUND CHURCHES

ORGANIZED STALKING IN & AROUND CHURCHES
ORGANIZED STALKING (Street Theater & Cyber Theater) & GAS LIGHTING is based on the OCCAM RAZOR PRINCIPLE & NON-COOPERATIVE GAMING THEOREM (Hyper Game Theory)
‘ORGANIZED STALKING’ & ‘GASLIGHTING' tactics are how Government Contractors constantly discredit & set up & entrap their victims, to neutralize activists, dissidents & whistle blowers or anyone they consider a threat while simultaneously provoking their victims into emotional responses which can be remotely measured and integrated back into RNM Data (Mind Control)
It is done to appear common ordinary & expected to the casual observer and to even try & claim it is happening makes the victim appear delusional
It is often a violent & sometimes deadly game, based on the 'OCCAM RAZOR PRINCIPLE', & other models of deception & manipulation
For Mind Control technologies to be effective they MUST keep their victim(s) inside a controlled environment. The CIA/DIA Contractors cannot allow their victims to engage in a PATTERN of random or chaotic situational & conversational scenarios, unchecked, because it disrupts their technology by disrupting the verification process. Without VERIFICATION their can be no Mind Control. It simply cannot exist. Every response of the victim MUST be verified
Occam Razor Principle states the simplest answer is always the truth. The simplest explanation is always the best explanation
So, in order to discredit a person all one need do is engage in a sufficiently complex scheme, or GAME of harassment, and because the more complicated the truth the less the likelihood of belief by the ordinary person, the complexity of that harassment will generally be sufficient to cause most people to turn away in disbelief
It involves REPETITIVE REINFORCEMENT using tactics which can be explained away to the casual observer. So, they sensitize the target to the gas lighting & stalking & when the targeted individual finally responds to the repeated daily minor or severe social aggressions, the delusional or ‘mentally unstable’ depiction is reinforced
At that point, the government informants & perpetrators, turned into provocateurs, then pull ‘BAIT & SWITCH’ with law enforcement & the whistle blower is set up & entrapped
SCRIPTED MIND GAMES
‘HYPER GAME THEORY’ is a mathematical model & basically means 'Game Theory' applied to "Decision Tree Modeling' mathematically proving that by constantly & perpetually altering any value in the model one can constantly & perpetually alter that models expected outcome
With CIA DIA TRAUMA BASED MIND CONTROL the model is the mind control victim. So, by constantly & perpetually altering any value in the daily life, daily activities, etc., of the Mind Control victim the Hive Mind Teams, hiding behind & using law enforcement agencies to do their dirty work for over two decades, can alter any value in the daily life, daily activities, etc., of the victim
Government Contractors are using three interfaces to attack, injure & kill whistle blowers, activists & so-called dissidents:
  1. Brain to Computer Interface
  2. Brain to Brain Interface
  3. Brain to Cloud Interface
ELF waves are used to torture the victim into near incoherency, where the government contractors then capitalize off the mistakes or poor decisions they force their victims to make
THE MORE TRIVIAL PALTRY FANCIFUL & FANTASTIC THE TACTICS USED AGAINST MIND CONTROL VICTIMS THEN BY DEFAULT THE MORE TRIVIAL PALTRY FANCIFUL FANTASTIC THE COMPLAINTS OF THE VICTIM THAT THESE TRIVIAL PALTRY FANCIFUL FANTASTIC TACTICS ARE HAPPENING. SO VICTIM IS DISCREDITED WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY THE TRAUMA-BASED MIND CONTROL CONTRACTORS ACHIEVE THEIR GOAL OF CONSTANTLY PROVOKING THE VICTIM INTO REPEATED EMOTIONAL RESPONSE PATTERNS TRYING TO FUNCTION & SURVIVE WHICH CAN BE REMOTELY MEASURED & INTEGRATED BACK INTO RNM DATA
Hyper Game Theory is achieved by PERPETUALLY basing ones next move off the opponents last move, meaning the game never ends because there is always a higher optimum to choose from. Always a next move to be made
Hence, the game never ends because the system must constantly provoke you into sensory & neural responses to engineer patterns of multiple synaptic responses
They need multiple responses of the same behavior, speech, etc., to determine coherent patterns of thought (VERIFICATION). Only then can those synaptic responses be integrated back into RNM data as the Conscious Supercomputer continues to build a cognitive model of your WILL, INTELLECT & EMOTION for training research & development
Hyper Game process is endless and can be triggered at will by the attackers and many times you will only notice the remote neural attacks are happening if you learn to Read Active Memory
For the Hyper Game Theory to work, meaning for the CIA DIA Hive Mind Teams to make a next move, they must force the mind control victim to move or respond first. The objective being to force the victim into an endless series of synaptic responses each day meaning to place the victim INTO and keep the victim INSIDE a PSYCHOTRONIC CONCENTRATION CAMP which is sort of a combination of the two movies 'The Exorcist' & 'The Truman Show'
This is why the victim is surrounded & boxed in constantly, for as soon as the victim is chosen for this technology, all available apartments, homes, hotel rooms, etc., next to and around the victim are sublet and the Mind Control Hive Mind Teams, Surveillance Teams, Organized Stalkers, etc., move in and training research & development begins, culminating in the cold blooded murder or incapacitation of the victim once training research & development ends
What I mean is they trigger or engineer chaos torture & trauma in the victims daily life and daily activities and then wait for the victim to respond to that fabricated torture trauma and chaos which the victim must do to function and survive, thereby forcing the victim into an endless series of counter moves throughout the day just trying to function & survive inside a Psychotronic Concentration Camp because of the physical & psychological trauma & torture
Each counter move is an evoked potential which can be remotely measured & integrated back into RNM data
KEPT IN A CONSTANT STATE OF DROWSINESS ALL DAY LONG EVERY DAY FOR MANY MANY YEARS
Sleep deprivation quickly renders someone open to mental mind control suggestions whilst reducing resistance to the remote neural attacks of the systems influences
Keeping someone awake with little to no sleep for days at a time is a highly effective way to ‘break the will’ of a Mind Control victim causing a whole range of undesirable ill effects from cognitive impairment, psychosis, breaking down the immune system and even causing heart defects and cardiovascular problems. The more you deprive someone of sleep, the more likely they are to suffer memory loss, confusion & hallucinations
It DEPATTERNs the mind clearing the neural pathways of the brain not only erasing the Christian content, or whatever the victim is concentrating upon, but it prepares the victims brain for the next wave of neuroprogramming
CIA/DIA TRAUMA BASED MIND CONTROL torture or interrogation, sleep deprivation tactics are used to bring about a change in psychological state, although the effects on the body’s immune system & vital functions undoubtably cause additional damage. Lack of sleep brings about a number of neurobiological effects affecting reaction time, memory & cognitive functions. It also has the effect of quickly bringing about hypnagogic hallucinations – feelings of ‘altered reality’ caused by the incursion of REM activity into wakefulness. Prolong these conditions and it can lead to severe moral & emotional impairment & ultimately psychosis
Sleep deprivation torture accomplishes objective of memory loss during interrogation & induces hallucinations which help with the interrogation process. In behavior modification & programming it is necessary too. It is easier to layer in false memories and control the victim because anything that reduces a persons energy level & vitality makes that person more susceptible to mind control technologies. The victim is so disoriented and drowsy he cannot recognize modification of his active memory & fight back against the systems influence
The technology they then use on the sleep deprived target is called “EEG Cloning” or “EEG Heterodyning.” The brain patterns (electromagnetic signals) “cloned” onto the target may be catalogued brain patterns stored in computers, though live signals from a “real person’s” brain could also be transmitted to the target. The handler (Clone Member of the Hive Mind Teams) communicates with the target through a technology for transmitting voices into people’s heads which goes by many names, including “voice to skull,” synthetic telepathy,” “microwave hearing,” & the “Frey effect.”
The communication may also be accomplished via EEG heterodyning, which involves “re-mapping the auditory cortex of the human brain.” Other technologies for transmitting voices include “ultrasonic heterodyning” & conduction techniques. It is much easier to achieve all of this when the victims brain is in a constant state of FUNCTIONAL DISORIENTATION through sleep deprivation torture & other forms of Sensory Deprivation
THEY DONT ALLOW THE VICTIM TO SLEEP FOR SEVERAL DAYS STRAIGHT. WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS PUSHING THE VICTIM DOWN INTO SOMEWHERE BETWEEN CONSCIOUS AND SUBCONSCIOUS THETA STATE (4-7 hz) WHERE HE IS IMMOBILIZED WITH NO ENERGY TO HARDLY MOVE OR OPEN HIS EYES BUT STILL AWAKE EVEN THOUGH IT APPEARS HE IS SLEEPING
THEN THEY PUSH THE VICTIM BACK UP ARTIFICIALLY INTO ALERT STATE USING ELECTROMAGNETIC LOW FREQUENCY WAVES TO MAKE IT APPEAR THAT THE VICTIM APPEARS TO HAVE ENERGY & THAT THE THE VICTIM IS NOT SUFFERING FROM DAYS WITH NO SLEEP
THIS MAKES MIND CONTROL MORE EFFECTIVE AS THEN WITH EACH SPLIT SECOND REMOTE NEURAL ATTACK THEY DROP THE VICTIM DOWN INTO ALMOST PASSING OUT THETA STATE SO HE CANNOT RECOGNIZE MODIFICATION OF HIS ACTIVE MEMORY BEFORE PUSHING HM BACK UP A SPLIT SECOND LATER (ENERGY TRAVELS AT SPEED OF LIGHT) INTO ARTIFICIAL ALPHA/BETA STATE WHERE HE IS SUDDENLY ALERT AGAIN AND HAS ENERGY AGAIN BUT THAT IS AN ILLUSION AS THE VICTIMS BRAIN IS IN A CONSTANT STATE OF FUNCTIONAL DISORIENTATION & COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT
two & three dimensional visual verbal entrainments of the most demonic perverse & satanic nature imaginable
Anything that reduces a persons energy level & vitality makes that person more susceptible to mind control technologies. The victim is so disoriented & drowsy he cannot recognize modification of his active memory & fight back against the systems influence
Sleep deprivation torture is crucial for CIA DIA TRAUMA BASED MIND CONTROL to keep the victims brain in a constant state of FUNCTIONAL DISORIENTATION. The more you deprive someone of sleep, the more likely they are to suffer memory loss, confusion & hallucinations
SLEEP DEPRIVATION TORTURE & ALTERING OF SLEEP CYCLES TORTURE STREAM OF ELF WAVES
DAYS OF LITTLE TO NO SLEEP FOLLOWED BY LONG SLEEP: REPEAT PROCESS: IS HOW CIA MIND CONTROL NEUROPROGRAMMING IS REINFORCED

2024.05.28 23:36 Ok-Tree9951 So my ex…

For background, it was my first ever relationship. We both were inexperienced and didn’t really know what it take to make it last. There were other factors that led to the breakup such as my strict parents , him feeling he didn’t make me happy because I was sad a lot when really I just had a Jesus shaped hole in my heart, and us not being able to see each other much. He broke up with me because he thought it was the best thing to do at the time. He has come back ofc and he wants to start over. The thing is that after we broke up I found God and accepted Jesus Christ as my savior. I struggle with being consistent but I will never give up on God and stop loving him that’s a fact. My ex has found God and prays everyday but hadn’t read the Bible. So concepts like wating till marriage which he respects and would wait until marriage for me but wouldn’t naturally do it for himself because he doesn’t really get why because he hasn’t read the Bible to understand. As Christian’s we are not supposed to judge, and we all start for somewhere. He’s open to reading the Bible just not the app but a physical one. I brought him one regardless if we work out or not.I know we should take people as they are but I also want someone who could lead me closer to God and being the spiritual leader. At the end of the day I want a man of god as a husband and as a father. I wouldn’t be so quick to get in a relationship with him anyway because we are taking it slow and being patient but I have standards of a Christ centered relationship. There are things he does that I don’t agree with like cussing alot , doesn’t believe Jesus is God,not understanding putting god first in relationships, that I feel would change if he read the Bible for himself. So idk and I’m just taking it day by day, but not trying to get too attached so that if it doesn’t work out I won’t be sad. I believe it’s a tricky situation. Thoughts? Ask me any questions I didn’t want this to be very long so I didn’t go into a every single detail, I just summarized

Hot Seat: Julie Lea does her first exclusive interview with WDSU after her Nyx Parade permit was stripped.
As those following the story will recall, the permit was revoked because of failure to meet the requirements for a carnival organization that parades during Mardi Gras and failure to show up to defend themselves with evidence in context. Julie is still trying to make it about cancel culture.
To save everyone some time, these are the parts of note: * she didn’t come to the hearings on advice of counsel * claims she tried multiple times to call and email city council to talk over this in private, and those calls and messages were not returned (city Council statement at the end refutes that they received anything other than one email that occurred after the first carnival violation meeting) * Claim they had all required seven bands, but can’t name any, then starts to say something about Baton Rouge parading restrictions * blames cancel culture for the permit being revoked, specifically blaming the #alllivesmatter * is considering suing the city * claims about the photo and hashtag that she didn’t know any better, else she wouldn’t have done it. To be clear though, that doesn’t mean that she supports BLM. She says that she was raised Christian, so she believes that all means all, and everyone’s life matters. * Interviewer: “so you do not support the BLM movement…?” Julie: “No, I do not.” * claims that the top salary she ever earned was around $65,000. (ProPublica lists her 2021 reportable compensation as $91,634). * people who filed suit are going to get a refund. She estimates the total number of those people being around 235, and the total settlement as $100,000. * again claims the permit pulling is cancel culture at its finest. * reiterates that she made a mistake and instead of eliminating Nyx, people should have looked to forgiveness * is proud to have been a part of Mardi Gras history, and the playground is part of “MY” legacy * again says that she should’ve been forgiven for making a mistake because her heart was in the right place.
