I know I've read about this happening but Google is only giving me results about the opposite (self-published books that were picked up by trad publishers). I want to know if there are any long-out-of-print books from decades ago that saw new life once the author got the rights back and re-released them on their own. Mostly because I want to do an all-indie card for Bingo and the 90s square is going to be a pain in the butt because KDP wasn't invented yet :) But I'm also curious to know in general even if it's not from the 90s. "Protect our animal friends." I don't think it makes any sense. If we protect the animals which we directly consume (cows, goats,sheeps) then assuming we would no longer need any of their product, so we wouldn't be need any kind of farms which contain them.
So they would move to their natural habitat/places and reproduce and there would be an inevitable increase in population right? Well, basic eighth grade Biology (I am a 14 year old) says that an increase/decrease in prey population would inevitably increase/decrease the population of the predators right?
So if we 'protect our animal friends' by not consuming the preys (considering tier 2 herbivores in ecosystem ex: cows, sheep , etc.), it would lead to the increase in population of predators (tier 3 carnivores ex:tigers, lions, etc.) right?
Yes, I do know that it will prevent the predators or almost extinct animals from going extinct.
But really? If the ecosystem is getting balanced this way... Animals will still die right? The only to protect our animal 'friends' from our other animal 'friends' would surely require some form of killing or abuse? You can't convince a tiger, lion, leopard, etc. to go vegetarian or vegan right?
A friend in need is a friend indeed.
If we can't protect our animal 'friends' (herbivore/preys) and also let our other animal 'friends' starve (carnivores/predators) or prevent our animal 'friends' from fighting each other to death to keep themselves alive (carnivores fighting/killing herbivores)...

This update focused on many quality-of-life changes and improvements. Most notably, we have made changes to melee weapons, hoping to improve how they feel to play with in the game. We’ll need your feedback on these changes!
Let’s get into the nitty-gritty:

Content and Bug Fixes

Animation

• Fixed an issue where hand gesture animations were overriding the Mesh Shield animations, resulting in broken character poses
• Fixed an issue where throwing animations would not play while inspecting weapons
• Added an intro animation in terminal attack to improve the round countdown

Audio

• Player Voice lines will now only play for teammates and not opposing players

Gadgets
Anti-gravity Cube

• We made the cube heavier so that it doesn’t get pushed as easily when hit by other objects
• Fixed a bug where objects would lift much faster than intended when they were attached together
  • This also prevents an exploit in which the cube could be carried upwards together with the objects it’s lifting, causing entire structures to traverse upwards into the sky endlessly

Dome Shield

• Fixed an issue where it was not able to be glitched when the center was occluded

Gameplay

• A new carriable object has been added to the Arena: Glitch Barrels -- Dev note: Glitch barrels are carriable objects. Pick them up and throw them to apply their effect in an area, or shoot them to detonate them from afar. The Glitch barrels apply the same effect as Glitch Grenades, removing the target's ability to use their Gadgets and Specializations.
• Fixed an issue where players were able to start opening a Vault during the beginning of an emote
• Fixed an issue where the Cashbox was incorrectly dropped far away from the player if it clipped through the map border
• Interactions such as using a zipline, pressing elevator buttons, and interacting with a revive statue should now be more responsive, especially on console/gamepad
• Improved visibility of barrels in dark and monochrome areas
• Fixed a bug with sliding where auto-sprinting players could get stuck between the crouch and sprint state
• Fixed a bug that allowed players to deal damage to their teammates
• Fixed an issue where players would get stuck in goo when running up to it Dev note: This will only fix the issue outside of moving platforms. We know that goo sometimes behaves strangely on moving platforms and are looking into it for a later patch.

Maps
All Maps

• Rooftop reflections have been improved

SYS$HORIZON

• Tweaked the zipline at the Museum entrance so you exit earlier automatically instead of it taking you all the way to the ceiling

Monaco

• Power Shift: Adjusted spawns to balance out the distances to the platform and to reduce how often you have to run after the platform when defending

Modes
Terminal Attack

• Added a distinct sound change on the Terminal when there is only 15 seconds left to stop the decryption
• The icon for the terminal will no longer appear in the center of the screen when decryption starts
• Due to a known issue that could not be resolved in time, players can only swap weapons and gadgets between rounds and not in spectator mode after elimination

UI

• Ping wheel additions and changes
  • Added new ping messages “Breach here” and “Hold this Position”
  • To make room for the two new pings “Hype” and “Danger” have been moved/removed. Hype is added to the expression wheel, replacing “Need Help.” “Danger” is removed from the wheel but still accessible via double-tapping the ping button on any target
  • Support/Social pings are now located at the bottom of the wheel, while tactical options are on the top half
  • “Going here”, “Defending here” and “Attacking here” in the Ping wheel are now called “Go here”, “Defend here”, and “Attack here” to make it clearer that they are requests to your team, and consistent with the character voice lines
• Updated several event log messages related to pinging game mode relevant objects to communicate the context more clearly Dev Note: There are still some events missing their proper messages. They will be added in the future!
  
• When holding the ping wheel on your own ping now we only show the remove option to make it clear that you pinged an existing ping
  
• Fixed an issue that sometimes made it impossible to cancel the ping wheel
  
• Fixed UI elements being drawn on top of the in-game menu in Terminal Attack
  
• Flipped background opacity for dead/alive players in the scoreboard
  
• Updated contestant icons
  
• Fixed an issue in frontend where clicking buttons multiple times in short succession would cause them not to register

Specializations
Charge'N'Slam

• Can now clear higher obstacles when activated on the ground to reduce instances where players get stuck on geometry

Weapons
Dagger

• Improved backstab validation Dev Note: We've received a lot of feedback about Backstabs not feeling as good. Hopefully, we've rectified that issue in this patch. The only way to tell is to let you try it and then gather your feedback!
• Fixed so that the aim assist for backstabs now synchronizes with the swing, rather than triggering at the start of the charge-up.

All Melee Weapons

• Improved hit validation for all melee weapons
• There is now a setting for turning melee aim assist on/off in the “Gameplay” section
• The aim assist and lunge range are slightly more generous for quick melee
• We have changed the way sprinting gets blocked when attacking with melee weapons and using quick melee, so that sprint is only blocked through parts of a swing, instead of the whole duration of the attack. This is tweaked on a weapon-to-weapon basis
• The sprint toggle no longer gets canceled by melee attacks, so players don’t have to re-toggle spam to efficiently chase their target while attacking

Riot Shield

• The shield can now be raised more quickly after performing an attack

SR-84

• Is now correctly marked as a Marksman Rifle instead of a Melee Weapon in the menus

Security

• Updates and improvements

Known Issues

Heads up! There is an issue with all gamepad presets (except for “Modifier Button Equipping”) which causes players to equip weapons when pressing the “Interact and Equip Weapon” button, which is not intended. This will be resolved in the next patch, but until then, please go into the controller settings and fix it by clearing the “Weapon” bind. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Welcome (Back?) to Fallout 76

I have seen tons of new players coming in to the game lately, and even more returning to the game much like myself. I won't say I'm the smartest and best informed Fallout 76 player, but I have had tons of help from some people I can say probably are some of the smartest and best informed in the game. So I've decided to compile this handy yet vauge-ish leveling guide to some things you might be curious about, or might find helpful, or whatever! First off, however, let's go over some things the new players might not know: Etiquette in Fallout 76!

Etiquette of Appalachia

While this is a game about lawless chaos in a hell-like wasteland, there are some rules you really should follow!

1. If you don't want to engage in PVP, turn on pacifist mode in the settings and read the popups on your screen about contesting workshops!
   
2. Don't start events until the very last ~30 seconds! Give other players a chance to make it to the event so it's easier to complete and everyone gets loot/xp from enemies!
   
3. Don't go overkill and destroy everything in public events! Killing everything before anyone gets a chance to do any damage to the enemies makes it so nobody else gets any XP or loot.
   

AFAIK those are the big three rules of this game, some people have their preferences and morals and such but IMO, to each their own beyond these big three.

Leveling Up

This is probably your main way of getting poweutility; through leveling up and collecting those sweet, sweet perk cards. I'm just gonna tell you how it is and say hey, don't shoot the messenger. Unless I told ya wrong, then shoot me a message so I can correct it.

How to Increase Your XP Gain

First off, lets go over how XP Bonuses are calculated. First, there is the base XP of an enemy. Then your INT stat will add to that base at 2.072% per point of INT you have. Then the resulting number is multiplied by the percentage base XP buffs you might have active such as the Leadership Bobblehead, Lunchboxes, or Well Rested. Here's the formula:
(Base XP + (Base XP * (INT * 2.072))) + ((Base XP + (Base XP * (INT * 2.072))) * %Buffs)
CALM DOWN!!! To make it easier on you folk out there who aren't running Egghead IRL, your INT stat essentially makes your base XP reward higher so your lunchboxes can give you way more XP.
So how does a fella max their INT? Well I'll tell ya! Other than the obvious idea of maxing it out by respeccing your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stat allocation, you have armor slots that can all roll legendary star stats such as boosting your INT by +1 per piece, and if you don't mind running a low health build while power leveling, the Unyielding affix that can roll on any non-power armor can give players a whopping +15 INT at +3 INT per piece equipped (body, arms, legs.) Also, you can wear the Casual Shielded Underarmor OR the Flannel Shirt for another +3 INT. Also, there's chems and foods that can temporarily boost your INT, though you can have only one of each type active at the same time. Some of the best ones to run for boosting INT are Brain Bombs for food and Berry Mentats for chems. All of these things can be purchased from other players too! Also, if you run mutations like Egghead and Herd Mentality, the Charisma Perk Card Strange In Numbers can boost your INT by another +4 so long as you're in a party. Which you should be, because forming a bond with 3 players in a Casual team will net +4 INT as well! And last but not least is the Mechanical Derby Game some players have in their C.A.M.P. which boosts your INT by +2 for 30 minutes!
Now how about boosting XP via percentages to multiply that huge INT boosted base XP you worked so hard for? I've got you covered! Same as before, some things stack but some don't. In this usage case, the Live & Love 8 (+5% XP) magazine doesn't stack with Live & Love 3 (Boost Effects of Food), for example. Same with the Intelligence Bobblehead (+2 INT) and the Leadership Bobblehead (+5% XP). Lunchboxes can stack only up to 4 times and if you pop a lunchbox around other players, the other players all get a boost too! Same if someone pops one near you, free XP boost! Lunchboxes grant +25% XP per box popped, so with four popped, that's double XP! You can also get a whopping +15% XP boost from the Charisma Perk Card Inspirational, and the event going on now, the Mothman Equinox, gives you another +15% XP for an hour if you interact with the purple eyed moth at the end. Also, the easiest bonus to get is your Well Rested/Kindred Spirit/Lover's Embrace buff that gives you +5% XP and is obtained by simply resting in a bed for a bit.
In conclusion and to wrap up this part I want to clarify that you will typically get MUCH more XP in a Casual Team over an Events Team because for a majority of the events, you will be killing tons of enemies and missing out on a +8% boost to the BASE XP of all enemies, ya know, before the multiplier boosts which adds up to be much more XP than you get from the completion reward, even when its doubled. Daily Ops is a different case because you are typically trying to run it fast and skip over fights if possible, but otherwise don't sleep on Casual Teams.

How to Farm XP

So now that we've written a small book on how to boost our XP, how are we going to actually GET the XP? Well the best ways is to kill enemies with a high base XP reward, and lots of them. For example, the super mutants at the famous WesTek Research Center provide a high base xp reward and so do glowing enemies, like ghouls, which can be more or less "made" by dropping a nuke on Whitesprings. Events are great for this as well, especially Radiation Rumble and Eviction Notice, but typically all of the events have a good amount of enemies to kill and reward you with exclusive rewards, so its typically savvy to hit the events as they come up unless you know what it has to offer and just don't need it.
Now hold on there, pardner! You don't actually have to do all the work when it comes to killing the enemies to get their XP. And to squash any rumors going around, doing more damage does not, in any way, net you a higher amount of XP!!! You simply have to do 1% of the damage to an enemy to get its FULL XP reward, and yes this applies to every single enemy, even bosses. Really all you have to do is shoot each enemy maybe once or twice and you'll be drowning in XP during those big events. A great weapon for this is the Tesla Rifle because it chains to nearby enemies when you hit something, allowing you to tag multiple enemies while only having to aim at one! Also, Nuka-grenades have a massive AOE, just make sure you aren't boosting explosive damage or anything so you aren't one shotting everything (and yourself.) And try to make sure your party is there doing the event with you because if they happen to get a kill you missed, you still get a little bit of XP which is better than nothing.

My bf has never voluntarily read a single book in his life until recently, but in the last few months he’s expressed interest in reading and I would love to give him more suggestions. He has ADHD and dyslexia so I’m not looking for a literary masterpiece or anything too lengthy that he would lose interest in. Just a meaningful novel he can learn from and enjoy.
The two he’s read so far from my shelf and really enjoyed have been Animal Farm, and When Breath Becomes Air (truly the best memoir I’ve ever read and I will recommend it to any single person).
He would likely enjoy any topic as long as it’s not a super difficult read and isn’t part of a series.

Well, this was not on my bingo card for a LL prior to 7.0 launch.
Thoughts?
My take is just confusion. Why waste time "smoothing" out jobs in 7.0 just to attempt to add flavor back in the expansion after that? Is it really too much work to fix jobs completely if they realize there are more issues than just button bloat?
On top of that is it fine to just tell your paying playerbase to wait for 2 years for job flavor? Wild take from SE imho.

It's been known for a while now that Gen 3 is in a tight spot(go figure). If Spin Masters is convinced by the Bring Bakugan Bak-Again fan stream and gen 3 continues, what would you want added changed. Only rule I'm putting is that ut can't change the story so far.(While Season 2 is said to either be finished or nearly finished it hasn't been green-lit yet so you can cover what you would want season 2 to be like).
What I would like to see:

My husband(38yr old male) and I (39yr female) have been together for 22 years. We have 3 teenage sons. Our relationship has not been great. We've been through multiple separations due to issues arising from alcohol abuse on his part(he is now mostly sober). Before covid we were living apart and had an open marriage. He was paying child support and doing what he could to help me financially. It was so wonderful for me. I felt so peaceful and happy and was healing from all that he put me through. I was working a part time job that paid pretty poorly but it worked with my kid's schedule so I stayed at that job for 7 years. Then when covid hit he ended up moving back into our house. I wasn't happy about this at all but also didn't want to keep him from his kids plus I really had no choice since we both own the house and we were not legally separated. I would often feel overwhelmed by caring for the children and keeping up with the house that we bought together. We've owned it for 10 years at this point. I have expressed my need for him to contribute to keeping the house up for literal years. It's now 2024 and while he doesn't drink anymore and we do get along well I still have no romantic feelings for him, he's my family and I love him but that's it. He's constantly wanting to have sex with me even though I have told him l that I have zero interest. I tell him that I am so overwhelmed with the state of our house and his lack of help that I have no desire to have sex. I feel like if my needs aren't met why should I meet his need for sex? He works from home and has his own business. Last year he allowed me to quit my crappy job and now I feel like he holds that over my head. Like because he makes all the money that it's the only thing he has to do. The business that he built pretty much runs itself and he has plenty of time during to take care of other things. There is mold in our bathroom, trim falling apart on the windows outside, actual windows falling apart, everything is a mess and I cannot keep up. My 3 sons also don't clean up after themselves so I feel like I'm constantly surrounded by mess. Dirty dishes, dirty laundry, pee on the toilet seat ect. I have no access to money, only to a shared credit card that I'm afraid to put big purchases on like a new window or whatever. We do not have a joint bank account although he will send me money to my bank account to pay some bills(car insurance, streaming services, pet food ect). Most of the time it's just enough to cover whatever bills I have although sometimes I do get extra. He holds all the power in our relationship and I'm just so tired. I feel like I've been a good, supportive wife and good mother but of course I am not perfect. I had horrible parents growing up. He doesn't seem to understand that he can't just buy what I'm asking for from him. We have conversations about what I need from him and he admits that he needs to do more but then doesn't act on it. Like he's just telling me what I want to hear so I'll have sex with him. It takes effort to have a connection with me and he puts in no effort. I don't want to make him sound like a monster, he's not. He doesn't yell at me and we have great conversations. I can go out and see my friends or whatever. He'll cook dinner if I tell him I don't want to do it that night. We very rarely fight and he's never physically abused me ever.
We don't have an open marriage anymore and I want so badly to be in love with him but I don't know what to do at this point. In January he allowed me to buy a puppy(we have 2 other dogs) and is paying for all of her care/training classes. I have started entering her in shows(she won one of them!!) which he obviously pays for. He tried to say that because he bought me a puppy and I'm happy that I should have sex with him...Being happy about my puppy doesn't mean I'm suddenly in love with him again. Just this morning he said that my childhood trauma has caused everyone in the house trauma and that hit me SO fucking hard because I have tried with every fiber of my being to not let my trauma effect my family. I asked him what he meant by that but he didn't elaborate. Then said he was joking when I asked if he was being serious. It felt like he was trying to blame me for the way things are. Throughout our relationship I have tried so hard to be a good person, I am a good person dangit and yes I do have trauma from my childhood but I don't see how that is what caused him to drink and drive, drink so much he'd miss work, or drink so much he slept at work, lie to me about being drunk, drink so much it ruined our relationship. I have in the past had too many animals. For example I had chicks in our basement that made a HUGE mess and it took me a long time to clean it up...but I did. Before that I had a hobby fish breeding business and had a bunch of fish tanks in our basement. When the cost of the electricity was too much for us to handle I sold everything and took the fish room down. He tried to tell me back then that I was an animal hoarder even though all of my animals have always been well taken care of and always had appropriate vet care. That really hurt me as I love animals and would never do anything to hurt them.
I have tried to divorce him in the past but at the end of the day I don't want to break my family up. I want to be with my children and him but I can't do this by myself and I feel so fucking alone. There's so many details I'm leaving out here because I don't want this to get longer than it is but lately I've been thinking that maybe I am the asshole here...I dunno :(

So a little bit about me. Im 25 M and I live in the US. I’m pretty chill and easy going for the most part. I love joking around a lot, so don’t take me seriously most times haha 😅. I like to think that I’m a good listener, or at least i try my best to be. I’m pretty decent at holding conversations too, I can talk about a wide variety of stuff, and I’m not opposed to even talking about more difficult topics, as long as it is civil. I’m introverted and a homebody, my ideal way of relaxing is wrapped up in a blanket watching a good Netflix series 😌, or just kicking back with some friends playing some games.
I spend a lot of my free time gaming lately. I mostly play Apex whenever I game but I also own some other games too. I have both a PlayStation and a Switch and I’m open to suggestions if you ever had another game you wanted to try playing. Feel free to ask me what games I own btw.
I enjoy listening to music. I listen to a little bit of everything. I like watching tv shows and movies on Netflix, and I’m a huge anime fan! I have more nerdy hobbies overall 😅 and I really enjoy science related topics, i like learning in general tbh. I enjoy playing card and board games, domino’s, ect, and I’m semi decent in chess too. I was learning to speak French at one point but consistency is kinda my arch enemy in well….everything 💀. I like reading every now and then, and I love a good story. I love memes and funny/interesting videos, so definitely feel free to share memes whenever you find them, and I definitely will do the same.
Long term wise, I prefer to keep talking on discord after talking on Reddit for a bit. I also would like it if in the long term you’re comfortable with voice chats. I’m cool with just chatting, but long term it would be better if we could call every now and then. Also, it would be good if we could do virtual hangouts from time to time. Maybe play some games, vibe out to some music, watch some shows/movies/anime together. I’m open to suggestions as well, so if you ever had something you wanted to plan then I’m open to trying new stuff.

vechicroid is an somewhat iconic GX archetype played supposed protagonist best friend sho/syrus who played the deck in the anime. this deck is famous for being so terrible IRL with no cohesion or game plane and very hard to summon fusions that have effects that range from extremely meh to very terrible. after a while the deck got support which was still pretty bad deck and while the support did some stuff the deck needed like searching it needed a lot more and a good negate. other thing that didn't help is existence of speedroids which shared the name which lead to lot of convulsion with vehcroids and some new cards couldn't get wind roids that being mixer and dragonroids which are wind roids themselfs. do you guys think this deck could be salvaged to playability if it got a more good wave of support that focuse on the new cards and something like expressroid or deck is always be unplayble no matter any card it gets specially after their naming convention ?

I’m creating a bingo card to play based on things I know we’ll discuss. Here’s what I have so far:

Not in a "the game gets fun after 10-20 hours" way, the game was fun at the beginning as I explored, remained fun as I continued to unlock areas, items, and weapons, and held up as fun on a fresh save file. Currently 40h in, 400h on Hades. I am not a speedrunner or super technical or anything, but I got to boss 4 on 32 heat extreme measures a few times (and died). Unmarked spoilers for fights/gameplay/unlocks (no character moments or story spoilers!).
The torches are legitimately awesome; if you had to stay in place to fire them, they would suck badly. You couldn't dodge well, so you couldn't ever even hope for an Omega attack to go off. Moros' aspect is my favorite, but I got to Chronos with Melinoe's before I bought it (haven't unlocked Eos). In my opinion, every weapon in the game is better than or on-par with Aegis (my least favorite weapon), and my favorite weapons (Moros, Thanatos, Melinoe's Descura & Zorephet) deal fast damage and can clear as easily as Demeter's Malphon. Personally, I have been more compelled to use the different weapons and aspects in Hades II than I was in Hades. I just usually wanted to run Malphon and would occasionally run whichever had thirst for extra gems/darkness grind.
The dash and sprint is thoughtful and intentional. If you want to avoid an attack, you have to intend to avoid the attack and move out of the way, or you get punished. Also, you don't have to dash 3x and then wait for Zagreus' dash cooldown before you can go fast again. Sprinting across a room feels way better than assaulting my dash button 24/7, even if you had up to 6 dashes.
The resources aren't rare. I just personally do not understand this critique at all. The only thing I was struggling for for a few runs was driftwood, but it's not like it took me a super long time to collect it, either. I THINK the reason that driftwood is feeling bad for people is because there isn't a third surface area. You have to make it to the farm the last area to upgrade the last area and your own area and a weapon. It's kind of like if Lotus was in Tartarus but had all the same crafting recipes. Normally you would pick it up on your way to other things (and other things to upgrade in the meanwhile). Casually playing the game, day one purchase, coming right off of grinding Hades for a week or two, I genuinely never encountered a resource bottleneck once playing at a pace where I got further pretty much every run and made it to the end pretty much every run. That isn't to flex; it's just to say that even when I am going as far as I can each time I have enough. You get fewer chances for resources you need going farther rather than if you were going back to Oceanus over and over, dying to boss 2 while looking for Limestone. The closest I am getting to bottlenecked is on Grasp and Ash, but at this point I have a functional build and the remaining cards are basically for fun/QOL. It's no different than a grind for darkness or gems or nectar or whatever.
The game isn't perfect; it's in early access. I can see how you could miss certain UI features like the Grasp meter, although in my case I found it quickly, since if you try to equip a card which would put you over the limit (which I tried to do to see if it would let you "overcharm" like in Hollow Knight) it actually does show a pop-up telling you how to level this up. It would make sense to just display this when the limit is actually reached as well rather than if you happen to try to exceed it.
Grasp limit pop-up from a fresh save since I have seen people saying they didn't know how to upgrade it.
And I can understand how Chronos' attacks may be confusing at first, but to me they were intuitive. Like half of the bosses have a circle attack that you are supposed to invulnerable-dash over, and even bosses (and normal enemies) from Hades had this kind of pattern, so personally I did not get wiped out by that attack. I did get destroyed by the surface boss a few times and I came into that fight having a couple dozen hours worth of preexisting knowledge about exactly what the attacks would be lol. Sometimes you have to get bombed by an attack to know better next time, be prepared & be good enough to retain death defies, or forfeit an attempt to learn attack patterns. The Mantis Lord attack can go to hell tho.
I am constantly reporting bugs and sending feedback as I play to Supergiant but some of the posts on here are confusing. I don't even normally post online but I see so many comments about the same issues that I genuinely do not understand, it seems like they are coming from a completely different perspective so I had to rant about it for a second. I even started a new run just to see if I had rose-colored glasses at the beginning because of all the resource-gathering nay-sayers and I STILL did not encounter a bottleneck. I can only imagine it is a skill issue with prioritizing what you're aiming for. I guess the point of this post is, am I missing some real problems here, or is there just too much aimless hate online? Hades II feels great to me, not in a this-fits-my-niche-better way, but in a this-is-a-direct-improvement way.

i noticed that antidote nurse is in the line up for animation chronicles 2024 and i was thinking that since there releasing the trump card for them that probubly the debuggers them selfs will be in there to. as well the anime exclusive bug switch as its the only remaining crash bug support would fit right in here as although its mr kays card not caswells its a single trap card that would make super crash bug super viable and pair well with antidote nurse. so what do you think chances good or chance's bad

Hey fellow Roovians…it’s been so long! This will be similar to my last post from 2023 as usual!

I’m still working as an associate attorney for Mitchell & Mitchell, and have been practicing almost 3 years now doing exclusively criminal work.

I am really excited to carry on the tradition of helping this community of wonderful Redditors by giving information…and I’ll answer what questions I can! I believe that I can be a voice for your questions and concerns, as well as the voice and contact person for my LOCAL firm here in Middle Tennessee.

In my 2023 post, I mentioned that I am a long-time attendee of Bonnaroo. This will be my 12th consecutive year! As a somewhat newly licensed attorney, I can answer most of your questions, and if I cannot I have been given explicit permission from the managing partner of my firm to relay questions that I am unsure of directly to him and give you the best and most accurate information. Although I am new as an attorney (3 years officially last month), I’m in an extremely unique learning and working situation, as my supervising attorney, Jack Mitchell, has been practicing locally in criminal defense for over 30 years. That’s in addition to having a great working relationship with the district attorney assigned to Bonnaroo cases.

I wanted to continue the tradition of this post because I do believe that people on this sub get some good benefit from it and share details of the process for handling charges that can change from year to year. This is a place to ask questions you may have, and I will try to answer everything I can (and if not, I will do my best to get the answer for you). As someone who loves attending Bonnaroo and being part of the community there, I hope you don’t need this information, but it is here in case you do.

The current elected District Attorney brought changes to the way criminal charges resulting from the festival were handled. In years past, criminal citations and charges were treated differently during Bonnaroo. Those who caught charges (defendants) were sent a letter from the District Attorney’s Office and the Court Clerk indicating that with the payment of a fine, the charges would be dismissed or retired after a certain period of time. The more serous the offense, the larger the fine assessed.

The last several years, criminal charges resulting from Bonnaroo were supposed to be treated the same as every other crime in Coffee County. However, what we found is that the process for festival offenses is still much different than the process used the rest of the year, and we expect more of the same this year.

What does this mean for you? If you are arrested or cited for any criminal offense while you are in Coffee County for Bonnaroo, you will have to make regular court appearances (REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE CITING OFFICER TELLS YOU) or have a licensed attorney appear on your behalf, and you will be prosecuted through the justice system. It’s annoying, for sure, but if you don’t show, and don’t have permission to not appear, the penalties could increase.

Probably the best advice we could give you when dealing with law enforcement is to exercise your right to remain silent. Along with this, you should not willingly consent to the search of your person, bags, vehicle, or campsite (other than when you enter the tollbooths). An officer may go ahead and search anyway, but giving consent immediately removes any chance of suppressing the contraband they find.

We understand that sometimes unfortunate things happen, and at Bonnaroo it is usually a case of bad luck and timing rather than bad people or actions. The major benefit of retaining an attorney with knowledge of the system is most of the leg work and negotiation can be done prior to the first time you are required to be in court. For most of our clients in past years, they were only required to make one court appearance, and for others (depending on the charges and criminal history) we were able to completely avoid the need for their appearance in court.
