I´m a little in panic right now, since I am always super cautious when it comes to emails.
Today I have received the following email from Paypal:

The attached list of fees in PDF format contains the relevant details.

Welp, as stupid as I am and since everything was completely the same (signature, copyright, legal notic,etc) as in other PayPal emails, I opened the PDF in my Outlook app on the iPhone and saw there´s only a summary of 0€ fees (PDF seemed authentic), and after that I clicked on the link "Contact" (Yep, stupid, I know). However, I never signed in through the website and immediately closed the tab in Safari and deleted everything in my history.
I immediately contacted PayPal Customer Service on my pc and voiced my worries.
They wrote the following message before I uploaded the screenshots they demanded:
"According to the details I see on your PayPal account, the last email I see in your PayPal account notification centre was on 15 May 2024, 09:30 CEST with subject line - "Here are the transaction fees you specified". No other email has been sent to you in the last 5 days with the subject you specified."
First I was relieved, but then my scepticism began to grow again because of the different time and subject, especially after I have uploaded the screenshots of the email since the customer support wrote then:

For the beginning I would like to say that I am pretty satisfied with my tone now, but I still feel like there is a great room for improvement. That is why I would like to hear about what others have been cooking for their Live sounds:)
Any recommendations or tips that have helped you to get a better sounding live tone are welcomed! Also I have some questions and will post what I'm currently using (or at least a quick description of it, my Helix is now with other touring gear and I'll have access to it on the weekend)
Quick description of my preset + other gear :
So for a very long time I've been using Placater dirty (Friedman amp) with Tube screamer in front of it. Also have some compression in the front and gate + pairing it all with IR's, currently switching between some custom made ones and OwnHammer Mesa 4x12.
As a band we have our own IEM system and I am sending my Helix directly through the left(mono) XLR output to our Stage box which then goes to the FOH.
I'm playing Fender telecaster (stock Mexico) with only one replacement which is the bridge pickup - Seymour Duncan hot rail.
We play a modern pop ska-punk spiced up with brass section.
What I've been "struggling" with and questions:
So there are a few things that I've felt like they could've been a bit better. Of course even with our own monitoring system it depends on the venue and other stuff - but at the core I would like to improve the tone that goes to the FOH and MAINLY the "feeling" and dynamics, just for my comfort.

- Reduce the amount of uncomfortable high and low end that goes to the FOH and my monitor without making the tone "muddy"
- Improve the dynamics and feeling of the tone - what I mean by that is that I want to feel the tone following my hand more without having unnecessary amount of gain. While playing leads and solos it sometimes feel a bit "uncomfortable" to play without having a lot of gain on my tone.
- Where should I put compressor - at the beginning or at the end of my chain?
- Improving to clean sound - the crunch and lead tones are somewhat good, I like them even though I still want to improve them. What I just can't get right is the clean tone. It always feels "meh". No dynamics, no punch, no crispy sweet …. whatever, you know what I mean!

My Steam Deck arrived a few days ago, and I've been able to configure everything pretty nicely. However, there have been some points in which I've struggled a bit and I've spent some time searching for the answer, so I hope I can sum everything up here for any new Steam Deck Clone Hero players.
Everything I'll explain here is posted on the internet, so you could find it on your own, but having no previous experience with Steam Deck (nor Linux) has made some things harder than I expected, so I hope it helps!
If it gives you an error, you will have to execute it first from Desktop mode (just tap into it and let the game load). After that, close the game and try again, and there should be no issues.
Keep in mind that you will need to press Start and select Guest player to be able to control the game, for example, to be able to select "Quit game".
My recommendation is to create a folder called Custom Songs there, just in case you want to download songs from older GH games (this way, you can sort them later by Playlist/Folder and keep everything organized by game or path).
Bridge is one of the best additions for your CH installation. If you want to use it, just go to their releases page and download the AppImage file.
Once downloaded, you'll be able to execute it in Desktop mode (it's not possible to execute it as a non-steam game, since it will open the "game" but it will not load anything, at least in my case). There, make sure to go to the Settings inside Bridge and set your songs path to the Custom Songs folder, so everything you download goes there.

I'm currently trying to set an additional path folder for songs inside CH settings, so I can set a folder with songs in the external microSD card, which will make it easier to manage my songs in my PC in stead of the Steam Deck, but I don't know if this will work. I'll update this once I know.
However, you can find this post where a user wrapped all the songs from all GH games in one single (50GB) zip file. It's not perfect, it has some duplicates, but it's just Download > Extract > Select what games you want to have in your CH > Move to your Songs folder.
It may give you an error when trying to unzip it: it's because Ark's settings (the software used to decompress files). You'll have to open the Ark software on its own, go to settings and disable "Libzip" from the plugins selected. Then you'll be able to extract everything without issues.
Furthermore, connecting it with the guitar made it completely useless, unable to even map the buttons, and even worse, the only thing working was the "strum up", which opened the Steam menu. Not good.
If you're having problems with it, just follow these steps. Apart from the Steam Input interface, you can actually overwrite your controller native mapping in the Steam Deck menu > Controllers page.
If you connected your guitar with your Wiimote, you may see two Wii controlllers appear: one is for the guitar, the other is for the Wiimote alone. I recommend you to change the Guitar controller's name in this page.
You don't actually need to map the exact same buttons as the ones mentioned in the link, just make sure to register the following buttons inputs to a "logical" key (where they will have sense):
And now you will be able to open CH, however, nothing will work, because you haven't mapped your controller in game.
Now press the "Assign controller" button (for me, I can do this only with the touchscreen) and hit any button in your guitar. This will change to your guitar as main controller.
If you cannot do any of these, it may be because you haven't selected a player. Start the game with a normal controller, press Start, select Guest, and then repeat the above steps.
And now, just click the keys you want to map and press the corresponding guitar buttons (you should make sure to map the controls described in the previous step).
Once you finish, just hit "Done", and that's it! You can already play to CH in your Steam Deck!
I hope this guide is not too complicated. I know this is a very simple process that anyone can do, but I hope it can help someone if they struggle with some steps of it.

Everything I'll explain here is posted on the internet, so you could find it on your own, but having no previous experience with Steam Deck (nor Linux) has made some things harder than I expected, so I hope it helps!
Installing Clone Hero
This really has no mistery. I followed this video on Youtube, but basically the steps to follow are:- Put Steam Deck in Desktop mode (hold Steam button > Power > Switch to Desktop).
- Open your browser (you'll have to install it first, if you haven't yet) and go to Clone Hero page.
- Click Download and it will download the Linux version.
- Extract the downloaded package in your Downloads folder, and then move it wherever you want it to be (SD card or Home directory).
Adding it as a Non-Steam Game
You can select the clonehero executable file in the folder you just extracted, and right click (L2 button) and select "Add to Steam".If it gives you an error, you will have to execute it first from Desktop mode (just tap into it and let the game load). After that, close the game and try again, and there should be no issues.
Keep in mind that you will need to press Start and select Guest player to be able to control the game, for example, to be able to select "Quit game".
Installing custom songs: using Bridge in Steam Deck
Your default songs folder will be at Home directory, inside .clonehero folder (make sure to "display hidden files" in your folder settings), in a folder called Songs. You can download your songs and move the song's folder in there.My recommendation is to create a folder called Custom Songs there, just in case you want to download songs from older GH games (this way, you can sort them later by Playlist/Folder and keep everything organized by game or path).
Bridge is one of the best additions for your CH installation. If you want to use it, just go to their releases page and download the AppImage file.
Once downloaded, you'll be able to execute it in Desktop mode (it's not possible to execute it as a non-steam game, since it will open the "game" but it will not load anything, at least in my case). There, make sure to go to the Settings inside Bridge and set your songs path to the Custom Songs folder, so everything you download goes there.
Everytime you add new songs, you'll have to go to your CH settings and hit "Scan songs" for they to appear.

However, they are quite a few, and most of them give a "quota exceeded" error. In PC, it might be easy to solve. I'm in a dispute with Three and could really use some external help to make sure my argument in the dispute is watertight.
Context:
I ordered some broadband from Three around 2 months ago, the router was delivered to a neighbour in my block of flats. It was "signed for" under my name and a proof of delivery photograph featuring a headless woman was the evidence. All the doors and carpets in my building look the same so there was no distinguishing features to give an indication of who it was.
I asked around the neighbours over the next few days and everyone said they hadn't received a parcel. I also sent a letter around giving whoever had the parcel an ultimatum to leave it in front of my door before I opened an investigation and no one came forward - so clearly someone was lying.
I contacted Three about this and they said they'd look into it, a week later they said they looked into it and the device was confirmed delivered - to which I said that it was delivered ot the wrong address - their reply was that there was GPS evidence, to which I replied that the GPS evidence could represent any one of the 25 flats in this building and that the photographic evidence of someone recieving the parcel was someone who was not me.
I offered to give further evidnce, via proof of signature, a picture of myself to show that it was not me who had signed for the parcel which Three refused to accept reiterating that their position was that the parcel had been delivered.
At this point I escalated the case to the Ombudsman.
After closing heir internal complaint Three then began to aggressively pursue payment from me, despite me contacting them numerous times to tell them that the issue is with the Ombudsman and I wouldn't be paying for anything as the contract terms hadn't been met.

My counter argument would be:
- Three has a responsibility as the sender to ensure the goods I undertook a contract for were delivered, any issues between DPD and Three before the item was delivered to me have nothing to do with me and are a seperate issue between Three and DPD, which Three is currently using as an excuse to not fulfill the contract.
- Three has repeatedly refused to give any avenue to prove that the individual represented in the claimed photographic evidence is not me, including any photographs of myself and my signature
- The notion of "giving evidence that the device has not been recieved" does not make any sense as I'm being asked to prove a negative - what could this evidence even look like if the device is not in my possession? The only evidence is already possesed by Three, which is an image of the device being delivered to someone who clearly isn't me, and they've confirmed that the device hasn't been used, neither has the mobile number.
- Three has repeatedly harrassed me for payments and given complaint updates on my account, even if I had wanted to manage the payments or read these notes I wouldn't be able to as to log into the Three customer portal one needs the mobile number of the account, which I don't have.
- I cannot identify any possible motive that Three could think I have. If I had any intentions of cancelling the contract after recieving the device, I could have done so within the cooling off period, but I called Three about the undelivered item well before this period ended. The device itself has little to no monetary value and is useless without a Three broadband contract which Three themselves have confirmed has not been made use of. -I've repeatedly given Three the opportunity to remedy the situation to no avail
- The terms and conditions state that Three is responsible for supplying me the equipment, which they have failed to do so, hence holding me liable whilst failing to uphold their own terms makes no sense.

Then this new guy asked me all the detail about where I live and where have I given my Adhar details etc. Before giving any personal information I thought this maybe some elaborate scam so I asked him if he was the police and he immediately interrupted me and started asking more questions. So i gave him all the answers. It seemed odd but i still thought this might be true. Then he told me I have to lodge an online complaint and to do that I have to download Skype and search Mumbaipolice663something on Skype and then send them my name and wait for a video call.
Then after like 10 min video call came from the Skype from them and asked me to open my camera and asked all the detail about my Adhar and all my address and I gave them to her. She even asked me to hold my Adhar in front of camera to 'verify', so I did. Then she said i am waiting from an update from headquarters regarding your Adhar detail please wait.
Now this girl was speaking in perfect English and said she was ips and every time she would speak she would unmute herself then mute again. This happened several times and it bugged me. Then she was talking about my family and suddenly said, "wait stop there is an update from headquarters" and then in the background this voice came from like a radio or something.
This time she didn't mute this time so that I can hear what the radio guy said. The radio guy said that I am a big and dangerous criminal and I have multiple cases of drug distribution and money laundering cases and that I should be arrested immediately. That moment right then I understood it was all fake. Then the girl from the call started her police talk iykyk. I tried to give some explanation but she was in her police mode and was very fake furious. When she wouldn't listen anything i started laughing almost like a villain lol. I told them, "You guys made me such a genius. I am a drug distributor as well as money launderer. I am like the one man army lol. Like some movie hero or something". Then the girl was so furious it was comical lmao she started saying this isn't a joke that I should live in fear and they contacted my local police Dept. To arrest me and my family members. One of my friends got fired from our previous company (company X) right around the time I got laid off in February. We can call him Rob. I wasn’t at company x anymore for two years but we kept in touch.
For some context, he’s on a partnerships/sales overlay team. He was on a sub team organized by the verticals and he had a coworker who turned into an enemy. Let’s call her Malory. She was generally bad at her job and only got by by hanging on the coattails of the sales team in her vertical to feed her leads. The entire team is metriced by net new partnerships and my friend usually was at the top of that leaderboard quarterly globally. For two years he’s been in the position of consistently exceeded quota. He was up for promotion by his manager at the end of the fiscal year back in January.
Malory has one of those toxic feminist personalities where she thinks she deserves everything she wants because she’s a girl. Malory was livid that she was passed over for promotion despite not hitting her quota for 7 quarters in the past 2 years. Instead of looking at her self for her own shortcomings, she chose to play the blame game.
Turns out for the past 6 months prior to him getting fired, she had been plotting to get him fired. The perfect opportunity struck when a new hire on an adjacent team was hired who happened to be Asian (very few in our office). We can call her Yin. Our company has a zero tolerance policy against racism and so Malory reports overhearing Rob calling Yin an asian slur supposedly multiple times. Due to the policy, Yin isn’t even questioned directly but only Malory is because she filed the complaint. Rob is questioned but only asked vaguely if he has used racial slurs or if he can recall an “aggressive” encounter in the office. 2 days later he is fired with no explanation of what happened or exact reasons why he was fired, just that his employment is at will. Yin resigns 1.5 months after Rob is fired. Reasons unknown.
Fast forward to now. He has been interviewing but being in this job market for the past 4 months has really taken a toll on him. He’s gotten 20+ rejections on well suited jobs in sales and partnerships.
He is currently interviewing for a consulting company that solely consults for company x. The role is a sales role selling professional services. A big part of this role is maintaining the relationship with the sales reps in the same office he was fired from. Rob is concerned that Malory might still be a threat to his job. He still doesn’t have concrete evidence that Malory is the reason why he got fired but all roads lead back to her.
Malory’s and Rob’s role were on an island in the org that collaborated with sales when needed. The sales teams don’t even know why Rob even left. They think it was a layoff due to the restructuring of the team as 4 others were fired/let go.

I don't need to tell anyone here that housing affordability is bad right now so I'll cut to the chase...
What can be done about it?
I got seven proposals to address the problem.
But first.. lets talk about what I call 'Non-Solutions'.
A Non-Solution is something that feels like a solution but isn't. For example: Scratching at itchy skin isn't a solution to a rash.
There's a few Non-Solutions I'm going to be avoiding with my proposals:
Government initiated housing construction company, similar to the NBN Co.
It has one goal: Build houses and sell them. It has a target rate of 'houses/quarter' it aims to construct houses at. That rate is set by an independent body that aims to keep the cost of housing to a fixed level relative to incomes, and controlled in a fashion similar to the official interest rate. Another lever on the economy. The rate increases when housing supply is low, and decreases when housing supply is high.
The AAHC builds houses. Then sells them. Simple as that. No other purpose. The goal is to break even, build houses, sell them at market value (no profit). The great thing is, this means the AAHC has a net zero funding cost for the tax payer - literally costs nothing to run, because it pays for itself through sales of houses.
The actual construction would be done by external private construction companies under contract who compete under bids to build suburbs worth of houses in large projects. Which is another benefit. Lots of jobs creation, a big boon for our local manufacturing and construction industry, and any related employment opportunities (construction companies don't just hire builders after all, they hire graphic designers, accountants, managers, receptionists, etc).
As additional benefit, because the government is building the houses, it can ensure the houses meet conditions and standards we the people want to see applied to future housing construction. So it could be mandated for example, every new home constructed must have air conditioning, must have solar panels, etc.
The AAHC Co in summary:
What people need is alternatives. Today.
Such as 'Tiny Homes'.
Tiny homes can be constructed in larger quantities, prefab, for cheaper than a house, and constructed on a trailer frame which allows them to be easily moved and transported.
They can be significantly cheaper than a house, and moved easily, opening up prospects for someone to own reasonable housing in Australia for a fraction of the cost of buying an established constructed house, by buying very cheap land, a cheap 'Tiny Home' and parking it permanently on their land. Then eventually moving it on, selling it even, once it comes time to upgrade to a permanent fixture house, or move into a larger fixed house.
Because they're legally defined as caravans, they subject to all the same rules.
The first problem is, those rules vary depending on where you live. Not just for each state, but even depending which council you live in. Some councils have no clear regulations at all, making matters worse. A nationalised definition of a 'Tiny Home', and national laws regarding them, would make life easier for everyone.
The second problem is, because currently Tiny Homes are defined legally as Caravans, they are subject to the same restrictions, which can be stifling, such as, subject to location (state or council laws vary). Here are some of the worst restrictions found around the country:
This is a mechanism we can borrow to achieve a similar result for renters, to allow them eventually afford housing.
I call it a 'Housing Super Fund'.
How it could work is like this:
Every tenant in Australia, could have a 'housing super fund' set up for them when they start renting. Every time a tenant pays rent, the land lord receiving the rental payment, could be required to deposit 5% of that payment into the tenant's housing super fund.
Land lords will insist, argue, that they will put up rents by 5% to compensate. But this is a lie. Prices are determined by customer purchase power. Renters will not have any additional purchase power as a result of this change. Rents won't go up in real terms over a long period of time, instead this change eats a cut away of rents from landlords and invests it on the behalf of tenants.
The housing super fund could be made accessible if and when a tenant is making their "first home purchase". If that never occurs, the funds could available automatically at retirement age instead.
It's obvious, that the system strongly favours those who already own houses and have capital, ahead of those who don't.
So, simple solution, is to increase taxes for being a landlord.
Property taxes faced by individuals could be higher for those who own more than one house, and increase with each additional house owned.
And, Negative Gearing, eliminated, since it creates such a massive financial incentive to own more than one house.
There are empty houses across Australia.
Tax the owners until they either rent them out or sell them or move into them.
You borrow money from the government to pay for education, and then pay off that help loan in your taxes, if and when your income is above a minimum threshold. In the mean time, the loan amount is adjusted based on interest rates at the end of each financial year.
There's no reason why we can't have a similar loan structure made available for housing.

What can be done about it?
I got seven proposals to address the problem.
But first.. lets talk about what I call 'Non-Solutions'.
A Non-Solution is something that feels like a solution but isn't. For example: Scratching at itchy skin isn't a solution to a rash.
There's a few Non-Solutions I'm going to be avoiding with my proposals:
- Price Fixing: Simply mandating that X costs $N, at a government level, doesn't fix anything. Ask USSR. Prices determined by markets are not 'fair', but they are realistic outcomes to the situations which created them, whether it's a lack of regulation, lack of supply, etc. High prices are a symptom of bigger problems that need to be addressed.
- Free Money: While it seems like an easy fix, just handing out money until everyone can afford everything, you don't need to be an economist to know that doesn't work. Prices are a function of purchase power. If you increase everyone's purchase power equally, prices will adjust to match. We've all seen this, the inflation we're experiencing right now in Australia is likely a direct outcome of the spending during the pandemic.
- Using the tax system to incentivise behaviour that results in cheaper housing, and de-incentivise behaviour that results in more expensive housing.
- Adjusting laws that result in more expensive housing, removing laws that are an obstacle to cheaper housing.
- Creating alternatives to the existing housing stock in the market.
- Government initiatives that increase housing stock.
Proposal 1 - The AAHC
I call it the 'Australian Affordable Housing Construction Company', aka, AAHC Co.Government initiated housing construction company, similar to the NBN Co.
It has one goal: Build houses and sell them. It has a target rate of 'houses/quarter' it aims to construct houses at. That rate is set by an independent body that aims to keep the cost of housing to a fixed level relative to incomes, and controlled in a fashion similar to the official interest rate. Another lever on the economy. The rate increases when housing supply is low, and decreases when housing supply is high.
The AAHC builds houses. Then sells them. Simple as that. No other purpose. The goal is to break even, build houses, sell them at market value (no profit). The great thing is, this means the AAHC has a net zero funding cost for the tax payer - literally costs nothing to run, because it pays for itself through sales of houses.
The actual construction would be done by external private construction companies under contract who compete under bids to build suburbs worth of houses in large projects. Which is another benefit. Lots of jobs creation, a big boon for our local manufacturing and construction industry, and any related employment opportunities (construction companies don't just hire builders after all, they hire graphic designers, accountants, managers, receptionists, etc).
As additional benefit, because the government is building the houses, it can ensure the houses meet conditions and standards we the people want to see applied to future housing construction. So it could be mandated for example, every new home constructed must have air conditioning, must have solar panels, etc.
The AAHC Co in summary:
- Allows for a market based approach to control the cost of housing.
- Costs nothing (to the taxpayer) to run, self funded.
- Reduces the single largest expense we have in life (housing).
- Would create tens of thousands, possibly hundreds of thousands, of jobs.
- Can improve the quality of our supply of houses in the market by building better houses.
Proposal 2 - Nationalised Definitions of 'Tiny Homes', and Easing Of Laws Regarding Them
The reality is, there is such a shortfall of housing in Australia, that it may take a decade or longer to address the problem, even if we started implementing the right policies to do so today.What people need is alternatives. Today.
Such as 'Tiny Homes'.
Tiny homes can be constructed in larger quantities, prefab, for cheaper than a house, and constructed on a trailer frame which allows them to be easily moved and transported.
They can be significantly cheaper than a house, and moved easily, opening up prospects for someone to own reasonable housing in Australia for a fraction of the cost of buying an established constructed house, by buying very cheap land, a cheap 'Tiny Home' and parking it permanently on their land. Then eventually moving it on, selling it even, once it comes time to upgrade to a permanent fixture house, or move into a larger fixed house.
Because they're legally defined as caravans, they subject to all the same rules.
The first problem is, those rules vary depending on where you live. Not just for each state, but even depending which council you live in. Some councils have no clear regulations at all, making matters worse. A nationalised definition of a 'Tiny Home', and national laws regarding them, would make life easier for everyone.
The second problem is, because currently Tiny Homes are defined legally as Caravans, they are subject to the same restrictions, which can be stifling, such as, subject to location (state or council laws vary). Here are some of the worst restrictions found around the country:
- Can not be placed on a vacant block of land without an existing dwelling
- No more than 1 is allowed on residential land
- Contains no more than 2 bedrooms
- Requires development approval every time they're moved
- May result in additional charges for council rates
Proposal 3 - Housing Super Fund
Super is a well established method for ensuring individuals can afford their retirement without resorting to giving people free money or price fixing the cost of retirement. It forces employers to make contributions to employee's super funds, that then collect interest, grow, and eventually can be accessed at retirement age.This is a mechanism we can borrow to achieve a similar result for renters, to allow them eventually afford housing.
I call it a 'Housing Super Fund'.
How it could work is like this:
Every tenant in Australia, could have a 'housing super fund' set up for them when they start renting. Every time a tenant pays rent, the land lord receiving the rental payment, could be required to deposit 5% of that payment into the tenant's housing super fund.
Land lords will insist, argue, that they will put up rents by 5% to compensate. But this is a lie. Prices are determined by customer purchase power. Renters will not have any additional purchase power as a result of this change. Rents won't go up in real terms over a long period of time, instead this change eats a cut away of rents from landlords and invests it on the behalf of tenants.
The housing super fund could be made accessible if and when a tenant is making their "first home purchase". If that never occurs, the funds could available automatically at retirement age instead.
Proposal 4 - Increased Property Taxes for Landlords & Elimination of Negative Gearing
While some people are facing the prospect that they may NEVER be able to afford a house in their lifetime - other individuals, might have as many as 7 properties, and are currently shopping for their 8th.It's obvious, that the system strongly favours those who already own houses and have capital, ahead of those who don't.
So, simple solution, is to increase taxes for being a landlord.
Property taxes faced by individuals could be higher for those who own more than one house, and increase with each additional house owned.
And, Negative Gearing, eliminated, since it creates such a massive financial incentive to own more than one house.
Proposal 6 - Harsh taxes on empty resident housing
A simple proposal.There are empty houses across Australia.
Tax the owners until they either rent them out or sell them or move into them.
Proposal 7 - Housing HELP Loan
Saved the best for last. Got a HELP Loan? Then you know how this loan structure works.You borrow money from the government to pay for education, and then pay off that help loan in your taxes, if and when your income is above a minimum threshold. In the mean time, the loan amount is adjusted based on interest rates at the end of each financial year.
There's no reason why we can't have a similar loan structure made available for housing.
