Homebrew Percy Jackson esc DnD campaign set in the US of A (Lol) where we are all demi-gods of greek gods or goddesses.
After the collapse of Olympus, Our characters must set out to collect the blood (willingly given) of the 12 major gods (not including Hades bc he doesn’t live in Olympus)
My character, Andrew Giness, is the son of Apollo. Apollo spends his time on earth in a band and Andrew grew up with his roadie mom on the road touring with Apollo and his band.
He hates his dad, had a magical skateboard (which is just a flying carpet that looks like a skateboard) and only joined because he had nothing better to do. Earlier in thr campaign Andrew stole the key to tartarus. (This is important)
Me and my dm are workung on a villain arc bc it doesn’t make sense for my charactwr to willingly restorw the gods back to olympus (he hates the gods and everything they stand for)
So he’s gonna become a villain (and Ill have to pay a new character ;-;) and set the titans free from tartarus in the hopes all the gods destroy each other.

Arab fans of Percy Jackson rejoice! I can finally say with joy that Percy Jackson and the lightening thief and Percy Jackson and the sea of monsters as of 2024 have been translated into Arabic with at least the next 3 to follow. The translator is from Egypt and his name is Hossam Nader.

Please note that these are the covers of the translated works. I was hoping for better covers personally I’m jealous of the Filipino/Indonesian covers. The Indonesian/Filipino covers are so pretty compared to the above, but at least we got translations, I’ve been looking for over 5+ years for those.
By the way I don’t live in Egypt or the Middle East (anymore) so I wouldn’t know where to get them but in the country that I currently reside in I know of one bookshop selling them they are a languages bookshop. I had a look at Egyptian bookshops like Diwan bookshop’s website and Shorouk bookshop’s website and they both don’t seem to have them yet as I said before they have been translated in 2024 fresh off the press. They could also be in other Arab countries so Arab PJO fans go to your nearest bookstore and see if you can get them!

2024.06.09 15:00 daisyparker0906 Prophecy gets affected by other magic systems.

I once read this fanfiction on Percy Jackson where Percy went around interacting with other mythologies and this really messed with Apollo's ability to keep track of him. Some prophecies were also affected by Percy's additional abilities.
My story references magics from multiple cultures: Mystic and ritual arts from South East Asia, runes and spells from europe, various shamanistic practices. The magic you use will be greatly influenced by your geographical position because the enegies can be different, the spirits could have a different ecosystem or the common traditions are different from yours.
I was just wondering about how stuff like divination and prophecies could get messed up by foreign interactions? Like, perhaps ther could be some world end stuff that just absorbs or is unaffected by exposure to foreign entities, but for the most part I think prophecies about individual people or events could get skewed from interacting with other magics and this could bring imbalance to the lore and magics of an area.
What do you think?

Connections:
-Witty and sarcastic teenagers who are very proficient with a mystical and inventive science which they can use in battle or in creation, repairs, or research (Alchemy and Magical Tinkering). They also picked up this talent at an incredibly young age.
-Among their peers who practice the same mystical science as them, they have a rare and unique ability (Ed can use Alchemy without a transmutation circle unlike other Alchemists, and Leo can control fire unlike other children of Hephaestus).
-They are exceptionally intelligent, and usually rely more on strategy and tactics to win fights than brute force alone. Additional personality similarities include impulsiveness, having a comedic “ego”, struggling to stay still/in one place and do nothing, and of course are selfless and very caring to those close to them.
-They are also notably short amongst their peers, a trait which they’re often teased for and are sensitive about.
-Both save their best buddies from dying by giving them a new body, then eventually return them to their original bodies (Ed saves Alphonse by putting his soul in armor then returns him to his human body in the end, and Leo saves Festus by using his consciousness and parts of his body to build the Argo II, then returns him to his bronze dragon body in the end).
-Both of their fathers are immortal beings who abandoned them for most of their youth (Von Hohenheim and Hephaestus). However, they would eventually reconnect, learning that their fathers always cared about them and were proud of them despite having to be away, and they would fight alongside them in their respective wars.
-Both of their beloved mothers die while they’re young, and both characters suffer trauma and a guilt complex from not being able to save their mother with their powers (Ed fails to bring back his mother with Alchemy, resulting in his brother losing his body, him losing an arm and leg, and making him believe he caused his mother to suffer more; Leo couldn’t reach his trapped mother, and accidentally burned down the building she was trapped in, making him believe he killed her).
-Their love interest (Winry and Calypso) is a kind hearted, caring, down to earth, and feisty, and is often teasing and squabbling with them. Both of them specifically make promises to these love interests before leaving them to finish their mission to take down the big bad, and they would eventually return to them only after taking down said big bad.
-The big bad they both face is a parental, godlike being (Father and Gaea, Mother Earth), who is the parent of the immortal, major antagonists they face across the story (the Homunculuses and the Giants). Both characters also deal the final blow to these big bads.
Fight Potential:
There’s quite a bit to work with and go over here.
For one thing, both have decent sized kits you can work with for plenty of action. You can get some hand to hand/close quarters combat, primarily with Ed’s sword arm/spear against Leo’s hammer and wrench. And you can get some great clashes of Ed’s alchemy molding the earth against Leo’s flames. This would be a great opportunity to show Ed’s superiority up close and Leo’s ranged advantage.
On top of that, Ed’s alchemy is also obviously rather versatile to allow him plenty of different options in combat (including barriers, giant hands, pillars, etc.), and Leo’s tool-belt would allow him to pull out his various supplies as well (it’s like a bag of holding that let’s you pull what you’re thinking of or stuff you’ve stored with some limitations) and you could likely give him some of his gadgets. Plus they can both potentially utilize their environment, with Ed’s alchemy manipulating his surroundings often and Leo being able to control machines. Suffice to say, I think there’s plenty to work with combat wise and their kits bounce off each other pretty well.
The potential banter between these two is also amazing in my opinion. They could easily be quipping, teasing, and gloating throughout the fight in some very witty dialogue. You could also tap into their more serious sides, primarily having them strategize to get the upper hand on each other, and thinking through the situation.
There’s also a few ways you could set up the fight, primarily through misunderstanding. You could have Ed falsely believe Leo’s fire is flame alchemy at first, but upon realizing Leo uses no components, assume he’s using a philosophers stone, or potentially even be a homunculus. And since Ed’s alchemy primarily uses the ground and stone, Leo could falsely assume Ed is a minion of Gaea. And Leo taking a jab at Edward’s height would also be in character, which could cause a scuffle where the misunderstandings occur. So I think there’s enough potential reasons for them to get into a fight.
All in all, I think there is plenty to work with here for a great fight.
Debate Potential:
Despite each of them holding a number of advantages, Leo should win relatively easily.
That’s not to say Ed doesn’t have some major advantages though. He’s more well versed and capable in combat, alchemy is generally more versatile than Leo’s kit, and he’s physically tougher than Leo (debatably, since I believe Leo’s flames should scale to the higher stuff but not his body). Meaning if he can get in close, Ed has the advantage and should be strong enough to hurt Leo.
However, Leo’s flames scale way higher than Ed’s physical strength/durability (his fire scales to the continental feats from Khione’s), and scaling to Jason/Percy means he should be lightning timing speed wise. So realistically, Leo should just blitz one shot with his fire.
There are some arguments for higher speed Ed, potentially getting him to Lightning speed as well, but I’ve yet to see the calcs and sources other than the electricity from Alchemy, which seems to be a debatable source.
So all together, it could be closer depending on speed scaling, but Leo’s flames one tapping Ed remain a major advantage that should net him a win.

2024.06.09 14:43 PepperSalt98 Had a strange dream about a new Thief level

From what I understand, this level took the place of Escape! in Thief 1, but it also contained aspects from the other final maps as well. It took place in the caverns beneath Constantine's mansion, but the map was filled out, and roughly resembled a pentagonal corridor that looped around on itself, with many smaller areas comprising the center of the pentagon. There were also "penthouses" that separated areas of the corridor, and they were essentially guard stations. The map was populated by completely new enemies, the types of which were determined by the difficulty. In the dream, I played on Expert, and so along with the usual pagan beasts I had to face "wolfmen" and "ratmen" with glowing red eyes. They moved very strangely, as if they had just been made bipedal. The wolfmen were incredibly fast and the ratmen had long bloodied claws. They were about as skilled in combat as hammer-haunts, and so fighting them was difficult.
Throughout the map there were new items called "mother-balls", gross bio-mechanical flash bombs that would teleport the player around different sections of the map at random. I remember climbing through a hole in the corridor wall and avoiding a fireball, which led to a stash of five mother-balls. I used one to see what it did, and was teleported to a large library, which was being patrolled by a skeletal Burrick and a fire mage. I was seen by the latter, and was forced to flee. Once I made it outside to a cemetery-like area, the difficulty would decide how many bosses (yes, bosses) I faced before making it to the exit. Because I was playing on Expert, I had to fight three bosses right after the other, using nothing but my sword and a few special arrows. The first of these I don't recall, but the second was some type of electrical spirit that threw balls of lightning and created AOE attacks that traveled across the ground. Killing it was a matter of getting up close and stabbing it several times. There may have been some gimmick (i.e. using water arrows) but I didn't find out in the dream. The final boss of the level was Viktoria herself, which would of course make this whole thing non-canon to Thief 2. I didn't manage to fight her anyway, and died. I then woke up, and the dream ended.
I have decided to make an in-universe map of the level as I remember it.

the player starts at the "Altar" where they have to evade monkeymen, and also wolfmen/ratmen on higher difficulties. They then go east and pass by the first penthouse, which will require stealth. To the northwest is an entrance to the Library, and some mother-balls in a secret. Getting in will require avoiding fireball traps, but the Library has multiple floors and other ways in. Once the player reaches the north-most point of the map, they go out into the cemetery, and fight various high-level enemies to exit the level.

I liked the mixture of real world with fantasy, them having to deal with fantasy within the modern world that clash and feel to it. I also liked how chill it was but fun and serious as well. I’m wondering if any book or series does something like this? A fantasy element within our world that the characters have to deal with.
It doesn’t need to be a fairy story like once! Nor am I after “the entire adult population suddenly vanished and we have no idea why” type of vibe .
No boarding schools like Percy Jackson.

About once a year, my darling fiancée tries to find this fanfic, to no avail. It was written some time before 2020 (as that is when she first read it), then scrubbed from the internet. In February of last year, only the first chapter (2% of the complete work) was reuploaded by an account that only uploads Percy Jackson fics (the account is also younger than the original fic), and then deleted once more. I asked DeletedFanfiction, and got back a different but very similar fic. Any help is appreciated, especially other similar fics, even if it's not the one I linked.
EDIT: A specific detail I should have included: At one point Ronan got amnesia and was in the hospital. < This is the important part, and any amnesia fics would be appreciated as well.

More verbose than intended. Trying to give detailed feedback.

TLDR: Solid B tier class, possibly A tier for parties that build around him. With a few tweaks it will be a solid class to release.
To the devs, just want to say that this is the best system that I’ve played in nearly 40 years of gaming. I particularly like the commitment to continual balance improvements, such as buffing barbarian in the new core 2, and the annual play tests that have helped keep new classes roughly in line with the power of prior classes.
So, here’s my little bit to help: commentary on a 3 session level 12 Kingmaker dungeon delve using the commander as a gmpc. (I’ve also filled out the playtest surveys as well).
Was originally going to be Octavia, wizard 12, accompanying the party, but changed it to an old warrior they’d rescued from a dictator’s dungeon.
He beseeched the party to let him join them and help to rescue his daughter from a fierce barbarian tribe. (And as I told them it was the commander playtest they said ‘yes’).
I assumed that he’d know all tactics, being a grizzled old veteran.
Feats were: Plant Banner, Adaptive Stratagem, Wave the Flag, Efficient Preparation, Defiant Banner, Rallying Banner, Fortunate Blow.
Armed with composite longbow as I felt he was too squishy and action starved to melee.
Party composition: Meat head fighter paladin rogue, dorn dergar, aims to pump out massive damage and debuff via crit knock down and greater crushing rune. Tactical fighter. Reach sword, open handed, knock down blow, medic and Overwatch dedications. Gunslinger - sniper, dpr, thief stuff and fake out in combat buffing. Phoenix Sorcerer kineticist – primal caster. Timber sentinel when not using slots. Bard kineticist – fortissimo spam plus timber sentinel when not using slots.
Main party of 5 has very solid dpr, being able to pump out disgusting amounts of damage and finishing fights quickly.
During the campaign, 11 other companions have rotated in and out of party slot 6, and now it was the commander’s turn.
Fight 1: Rescue 5 hostages from barbarian tribe. 24 level 8 creatures. 160Xp fight. Commander gave gunslinger extra stride to fly down a cliff he’d suggested the party attack from, tell the 5 hostages they were being rescued and have them enter a bag of holding. Gunslinger then flew back up with the hostages. Sorcerer placed wall of stone to slow barbarians down. Barbarians then tried to climb the 50’ cliff to get to the party, and party tore them apart. Sorcerer used 4 chain lightnings that did a lot of damage. 17 died, 7 ran into a cave in the cliff side, hacking through the wall of stone blocking it off. Commander also good giving gunslinger extra attacks each round with Strike Hard! Tactic.
The party had thought that was the only fight of the day, which was why the sorcerer blew all his rank 6 slots in that fight. However, the commander’s daughter told them of a grim plot to retrieve a magic sword that would allow the barbarian chief to attain immense power. The party had to stop him!
Fight 2: Party had scouted the cave with prying eye and found 3 ninja type women inside. 80Xp fight, plus 7 survivors from last fight making it 127xp difficulty fight.
They were actually 3 level 12 clerics, and party had a hard time with a repulsion spell limiting fighter engagement. The 7 barbarians from the previous fight added some extra pressure. Commander mainly gave gunslinger extra attacks in order to finish the repulsion caster at range quickly, leaving fighters free to wade in and murder the 2 other casters with disrupting stance plus double reaction strikes.
Fight 3: Party found a secret passage and triggered a trap that summoned 3 Derghodaemons. 80Xp fight. Party was trapped by 2 blade barriers whist the daemons attacked at range. Sorcerer dispelled one barrier, letting the fighters go ham. Near the end, gunslinger and a fighter were both confused. Wave the Flag granted them 2 new saves, that they passed, negating the confusion. Nice. Commander also making heavy use of Strike Hard! And Fortunate Blow tactics combo with the gunslinger.
Fight 4: Party came across a gibbed up corpse in front of 2 massive iron statues. Even the meat head fighter figured out they’d likely animate. Commander had prepared Pirahnha Assault. This was handy as the 2 Iron Golems animated. 80Xp fight. The party made short work of them, with the commander negating 12 of the 15 resistance of each golem in turn.
Fight 5: 16 skeletal barbarians, 107xp fight. Commander had nothing to do as the party entered the bag of holding and the gunslinger snuck everybody past the skeletons.
Fight 6: A cleric 13 of Gorum and his 8 skeletal servants. 73*Xp fight. *The cleric spell dc was 7 higher than the party casters, and he was hitting the fighters on 2+ in melee. This guy was not a level 13 creature…
Due to a language issue, party missed out on two free gear upgrades and instead it kicked off. Cleric opened up with striding away and repulsion. His dc was so ludicrous, the casters couldn’t counteract it. He then pelted the party with spells whilst the 8 skeletons blasted the party with long bow fire.
Piranha Assault was very useful here due to cleric and skeletons resisting 10 most damage types. However, once party blasted with a divine wrath, with 3 party members crit failing to save, leaving them sickened 2 and slowed indefinitely, the commander used Form Up! To help the party beat a hasty retreat. Luckily the cleric declined to pursue.
(If he had, the repulsion would be negated and the fighters would have exploded him).
Fight 7: After 20 minutes of puking and healing, the party came back. The cleric no longer had repulsion, and the sorcerer used wall of stone to trap the cleric with the fighters and block the skeletons. Due to piranha Assault, the cleric damage resistance was negated. Cleric was nearly down after two rounds, despite 250+ hp and fast healing 10. Cleric was going to dimension door away when commander had his turn and used Strike Hard on the meat head fighter to crit the cleric and finish him off. The skeletons fell easily after that.
Fight 8: The party came across a possessed barbarian chief, level 15, who’d butchered his own men in a fit of rage. He also had 8 skeletal barbarians helping him out. 133Xp fight. The chief charged in and the party held him at the choke with the corridor. After two rounds the chief had taken over 300 damage, was dying 3. But he didn’t die, and didn’t fall unconscious. His cursed sword wouldn’t let him!
Noting that the chief was confused, blindly attacking himself when nobody else nearby, the commander used Form Up! To help the party retreat until the chief dropped dead of his wounds after ten rounds of super raging. The skeletons were easy to dispatch after that.
So, overall a successful expedition, managed with one day’s worth of resources. General consensus was that the commander was a solid addition to the party. However, would the wizard have been better?
THE GOOD:
Has some very powerful abilities. Piranha Assault, Form up!, Guiding Shot, Wave the Flag coming to mind. Fortunate Blow combo with Strike Hard for the gunslinger was very nice. I think Fortunate Blow might be an S tier feat. A strike combined with a limited true target spell for one action that can be used all day looks very good. Also has Mountaineering and Naval Training to aid greatly with exploration. Very nice utility.
THE BAD:
Some tactics just didn’t see use. Stupefying Raid might have been good in some of the fights, but the commander didn’t prepare it as other more bread and butter tactics available. End It! Looks very powerful, but it helps a winning party win harder. It can’t turn around a losing fight, or at least unlikely to.
Ended up spamming the same few bread and butter tactics as can only change one per fight, and that costs a level 6 feat…
Apart from climbing and swimming tactics, very little utility. Wizard could have prepped a translate and possibly avoided the cleric fight altogether. But, that’s the nature of martials. Maybe he’ll get more utility feats in the final version? To be fair, he’s already more useful than a lot of martials utility wise.
THE UGLY: Utterly bizarre power scaling on feats.
The mount doesn’t get independent until level 10. Why? It’s almost useless for the first nine levels of the commander’s career. He’s either going to pay the feat tax of going beast master or cavalier, or just not bother with it at all.
Plant Banner goes from terrible to meh to bonkers at level 15. Why not a more uniform progression?
Defiant Banner is meh until level 14, then it’s bonkers good. At level 20 a commander can spend one action to give entire party physical resist 17 in his banner aura. Why bother with champion or guardian with limited 22 damage negation at that point?
Class Dedications: As these 2 feats scale with overall class, I can see a wizard grabbing both of these and getting amazing value from one or both of them whilst still having the advantage of being a full caster. I assume that commander dedication will greatly limit number of squad mates affected by commander dedication feats and tactics?
FINAL THOUGHTS: Solid class. Nearly there. Just needs some tweaking IMO. Looking forward to it, and guardian in the new book next year.

Hello! I am looking for a Harry Potter and Percy Jackson crossover fic that I can not find again. In it Harry is the child of Janus and goes to the Percy Jackson world where he has to navigate not only finding out that he is a demigod but fighting monsters who are really attracted to him cause of his magic. There was a sequel where he gets called back by Dumbledore and friends and accidentally drags Percy with him and the whole sequel being about trying to get back to camp and stuff. There was a big fight with some hybrid Kronos/Voldemort as Kronos tries to use Voldemort to get back and Voldemort is trying to secure immortality and godhood, while also planning to kill Kronos. I read it on ff.net I believe but it might also have been tmblr. It has been at least 7 years since I read it and the only reason I remember it so fondly and with great detail is I drew a few pieces of fanart for the series with quotes and my bits from my favorite chapters written on the backs. If you have any idea the name that would be greatly appreciated! Any HPxPJ fic recommendations welcome as well!
