I went to the vet yesterday for my new kitten. I've read a lot online and heard diffrring opinions from various cat owners about cat diets, litter, and a bunch of other stuff. I tried asking the vet about all this and she seemed disinterested in my questions. I described the kind of food i'd been giving so far and asked if it was good for my little boy. She said it wasn't the best and refused to elaborate. I asked what kimd of food I should give and she just said a brand name. No indication of dry, wet, quantity etc. I said I wanted her professional opinion since the internet has so many differing opinions, and she listened to what I had to say, but in a really patronising way, like if an annoying kid was going on an on about his pet rocks.
If i can't ask the vet about these kinds of things, then who am I supposed to ask?

Speculation: The quote from the Prestige in full talks about the different parts of making something disappear. In full " Every great magic trick consists of three parts or acts. Speculation: WS looking for DFV and just coming across more memes, not really understanding it. Speculation: Not sure about this one other than the family in Ozark were right on the line of legality when it came to what they were doing, essentially they were money laundering and in the end it cost them their family. SHFs messing with Gamestop to the point of legality could be what costs them their family of investors?

Speculation: This play is a high risk play as we all know but DFV doesn't care about the odds, so many people have told him how crazy he is but that doesn't stop him absolutely nailing it. Speculation: The Moon Knight in fortnite is considered a rare character. In fact the last time the Moon Knight was in the fortnite shop was Nov29, 2023. Description: This is the epic reveal in fight club and DFV has replaced a lot of the words. In the original scene, if you haven't watched fight club, the main protagonist has put the pieces together to realise that he himself is actually the same person as the other protagonist in the film and it was him alone that accidentally setup a sort of movement against the financial elite. In this clip DFV plays off the two characters between DFV and Roaring Kitty.
Speculation: Roaring Kitty was the twitter handle and Youtube profile for Keith Gill where he would speculate on the stock because he just loved doing it. DFV was the reddit handle where he is associated to that other sub i can't mention here but you know where i mean. I think that DFV is saying that what started as a fun speculation of the stock became something bigger than himself with his other channel in DFV on reddit. Now the wheels have moved and in the film it ends with the financial institutions being blown up, perhaps something similar metaphorically is already in place right now. It's actually a great analogy from DFV about his situation.

Speculation: The scene where Neo fights Morpheus is really the first time we start to see Neo believe in his ability to be the chosen one but also understand the power being able to beat the matrix. With the Alice in Wonderland it's about seeing how far the rabbit hole goes, things will get more crazy for sure and we are going to find out just how deep this goes.

DFV has changed some of the narrators (Red) words in showcase his story of being wrongly accused in 2021 and having the flee out of the spotlight. He talks about pressure and time, he presents a lot of memes he has created over the years and then shows a particular screenshot of one of his streams.
Speculation: This tells DFVs story but also has some juicy parts. I think Red in this is a bit like the reddit crew (us) keeping tabs on his story but DFV is saying to escape like him it takes pressure and time (could be gamma squeeze, could be LEAPS, could be DRS, could be holding and buying, could be ALL of it) but all it takes is time and pressure. The memes he posted i wonder if some of those have found their way into various subs over the last 3 years without any of us knowing it came from DFV. The steam he screenshot has been spoken about a lot this morning but it seems to come from one of his youtube streams when GME last broke $30.

For context, back in 2022, my girlfriend and I adopted a kitten from the animal shelter, named her Shuri, and after she got comfortable, we got the most adorable, most cuddly little cat we've ever had. She's an indoor cat, and just turned 2 last month.
A month ago, we noticed that she was limping. The last few months she's had an obsession with crawling up on the highest shelves and places she can find, and she's never really been the most elegant cat, so we thought that might have something to do with it. As one does, we brought her to the vet, and the vet told us that it was just a simple hip fracture, something that should heal with time and rest.
The vet advised us to keep Shuri in a small space for 3 weeks, where she'd have access to a bed, food, water, a scratching post, and her litterbox, so we bought a 120 cm x 120 cm dog enclosure for her to rest in and have now had her in there for 3 weeks as per the vet's recommendation. It was difficult, because she very much did not like being locked up in the enclosure, but we love our cat so much and wanted her to get healthy again.
Then at our vet visit yesterday, the vet told us that she did expect the healing wouldn't go as hoped, but she was surprised to see the x-ray pictures and see that compared to last time, it's like the bone is crumbling, instead of trying to heal. The vet explained it by saying "It's like there's less bone, somehow."
The vet told us that it might be a form of osteoporosis, but she was gonna contact some experts about it and call us back this week (we're still waiting for that). She also informed us that her hip is gonna be treatable with surgery, but that it's gonna cost us up to what correlates to $3000 - money that my girlfriend and I don't have. We were told that the alternative would be having to put our cat down, or giving her away to someone that could afford her surgery. The vet also informed us that even in the case of getting her treated, it was never gonna prevent the same thing from happening to any of her other legs.
We don't know what to do. I know asking a bunch of strangers online for advice is a far stretch, but I desperately want my cat to be her old self again.

Hi all.
So about 3 weeks ago I was on fb for the first time in ages and decided I would transfer my photos from there to my Google photos. As then all my photo albums could be in one place. Fb asked if meta could access my Google photos and of course I said yes. Email from meta saying transfer complete etc but I didn't actually check in Google photos until the other day when I realised all the albums I'd created in the last few years have now been replaced by this influx of old fb albums. The Google photos themselves are still there as far as I can work out...but any albums I've created in my Google photos account can't be seen, apart from 2 shared albums made in 2022 / 23.
Do I now have to recreate every album in Google photos and hope the chronological order comes back? Bc all the old fb albums contain loads of photos of my ex boyf, my dead cat, and my dear dead Mum which I don't want to see every time I open the photos app 😩
Google help said they couldn't do anything, it would have to be fb but have you ever tried contacting fb support?! It's impossible! Just spent 3 hours going round in circles. Hateful app in every way 👹
I just want to roll back my Google photos account to 3 weeks ago and have all my albums arranged as I'd created them over the past few years.
Surely fb can't get away with totally rearranging people's Google albums?!

Title mostly explains the use case. We have RHEL through AWS and that points to their RHUI instance for the given region. We have a request to make RHEL packages available for CI, and to do that we have Sonatype Nexus for artifact management.
Nexus has support for Yum repos and documentation for a RHEL proxy here, but here are the problems:

1. I can't use this doc. There is no entitlement through AWS with RHUI. It looks like you don't use the `subscription-manager` at all with RHUI in fact according to this doc by Red Hat. The proxy url also points to the CDN which looks like a different use case than using the uris of the mirrorlist pointing to the RHUI for a new AWS RHEL instance specified in `yum.repos.d`. I also verified that in spite of the warnings that my EC2 instance is not registered, both `yum` and `dnf` pull packages and run update just fine.
   
2. I haven't found any docs for pulling from the RHUI. I'm not sure if it works at all with Nexus. Nexus supports yum proxy repos, but it only provides one set of GPG Key, remote URL, and certs per repo, whilst there are 4 or 5 enabled repos specified in the `redhat-rhui.repo` file each with different subdirectories to repos hosted on the same rhui instance, each with their own set of ssl certs, although a `cat redhat-rhui.repo grep ssl sort -u` reveals that each repo uses the same set of `sslcacert`, `sslclientcert`, and `sslclientkey` files. There is also the separate client config repo to consider. I could think of a few possible approaches to this, I would like to know thoughts if anyone is familiar with this. Do we:
   

a. point to RHUI directly in the remote url, something like `rhui.us-east-1.aws.ce.redhat.com` and we can setup Nexus to automatically resolve the different repos in one Nexus proxy?
b. have to setup a new Nexus repo per entry in the `redhat-rhui.repo` INI file to resolve each set of certs when using `yum`?
c. have a persistent RHEL instance with RHUI repos fully configured and point Nexus to that RHEL instance instead (the instance still doesn't have an entitlement attached, so need to figure that out still, but I'm leaning towards this, only issue I see could be cost/performance bottleneck if a lot of teams end up using it)?
d. if pointing to the EC2 in c is a bottleneck or if running a persistent instance is too expensive, do we use Terraform to spin up a micro instance at build time to pull from using the AWS licensing to authorize Nexus? (<- this is what the customer says we can do, but I have my doubts that ssl certs made for a specific instance will be the same for a new instance)
Being that the subscription is managed through AWS, we don't have access to the subscription itself to use the Red Hat customer portal. I'm meeting with our financial officer, the guy who approves these paid subscriptions, next week to see if I can at least or what I can do about using our RHEL subscription, but until then public domain/forums like reddit are all the resources I have to find a solution.
One last note is that I tried running this how to on connecting to RHUI through curl on a RHEL instance and it worked perfectly fine, tested with `rhel-8-appstream-rhui-rpms`, so I was figuring a way of using that to get around the issue with not having an entitlement attached to the instance.

As varied and distinct as the individual episodes of Inside No.9 are, over the nine seasons it’s been running, it’s perhaps inevitable that certain “types” of episode have begun to emerge. There’s the ensemble piece (last week’s Boo To A Goose was a great example) there are the episodes that focus on a niche interest of the show creators (The Riddle of The Sphinx and Misdirection), there are the horror pastiches (The Harrowing, Seance Time) and often the most effective of all of these – the two-hander. Episodes that for the most part only feature show creators Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton.
I like these episodes the most because due to the smaller cast, the writers are able to develop their characters in much more depth. I loved last week’s episode, but by necessity everything has to be a lot broader to properly get across all the different characters. In an episode with only two characters, they can take their time, and let the story unfold in a more measured, deliberate way.
The Trolley Problem is one of the best of these that the series has ever produced. Shearsmith plays Drew, a man who is apparently on the brink of suicide. Spotted looking despondent while standing on a bridge, he is comforted by therapist Blake (Pemberton) who brings him back to his cottage for a cuppa and a chat. However, neither character is what they initially seem to be, and what unfolds is a battle of wits on a par with Sleuth or Deathtrap, centred on the moral dilemma of the title – is it more moral to allow three people to die or to directly cause the death of one person for the greater good? As Blake puts it, it’s utilitarianism vs. deontological ethics. The difference between killing, or letting someone die.
The Trolley Problem feels thematically linked to last year’s excellent The Last Weekend. Both feature ideas of revenge, but where that episode had a grisly, visceral feel to it, this one is altogether more psychological, albeit with a macabre twist. It’s just two people in one location, whose motives are only slowly revealed as the episode goes on. Similarly, comparisons will inevitably be drawn between this and The Riddle Of The Sphinx, but for me at least, this one is a lot stronger tonally. The season three episode juggled broad comedy with a love of cryptic crosswords and a very dark final twist. This one has a sense of foreboding from the start, and feels more consistent from start to finish.
At its strongest, it resembles Lip Service (one of my all-time favourites) where each new scene pulls back a layer and reveals something new to the audience. It’s unpredictable with a lot of potential narrative threads, and constantly shifting character dynamics, while the presence of a gun (“You know I’ve got this gun don’t ya!”) only heightens the tension.
It’s also fairly low-key, but the production values are incredible – it might be the most evocatively shot episode of the entire series. There is a definite Scandi-noir feel to the episode; the ethereal score, the setting, the costumes, even the characters’ hairstyles feel like they have been lifted straight out of The Killing, Wallander or The Bridge. There's another film referenced but even mentioning it here would give too much away! Suffice to say the dark, brooding tone, the psychological aspect and grisly climax all feel like a tip of the hat.
The use of lighting in particular is incredibly striking – the backdrop of a thunderstorm allows for dramatic flashes when the lights go out, while the relentless background noise of the rain adds to the episode’s oppressive atmosphere . The entire episode is beautifully shot, with some meticulously crafted composition. One shot of flames reflected in Blake’s glasses is especially haunting. There’s a heightened reality that permeates the episode, and it feels increasingly like a waking nightmare, culminating in an appropriately horrifying ending.
Another thing I loved is how the two leads play the material admirably straight. Even at its darkest, and in the past there have been moments of levity, but there’s very little in the way of laughs here. Both actors underplay their characters beautifully. It’s left tantalizingly ambiguous for the entire run time just who we should be rooting for, and even when the credits roll it’s not entirely apparent. Neither is 100% a monster, and the story is all the more compelling for that. However abhorrent Blake may be, he still has the humane impulse to help Drew in the first place, and likewise, Drew is motivated by a sense of justice, even if his methods are extreme. There’s one shot where a enigmatic expression passes across Drew’s face – is it a look of menace, remorse, self-loathing, or doubt? Depending on how you read the scene, it could be any of the above, but it’s only on a rewatch that it becomes clear.
The only time it falters somewhat in my mind is when it attempts to link the story too directly to the idea of the titular thought experiment. The script does a great job of giving a summary of a variety of psychological concepts, such as The Bystander Effect, The Szondi Test and Laughter Yoga (Drew laughing hysterically is one of the episodes most disturbing, indelible images) but applying the Trolley Problem directly to the story sometimes feels like a bit of a stretch. It works much better as a thematic link than something literal.
The deceptively simple narrative is just as intricately constructed as we have come to expect by this point though, full of foreshadowing and portentous clues. Seemingly throwaway dialogue, like Shearsmith’s apparently innocent observation about Blake’s diploma early on, and the line “I don’t have a best side” all serve as precursors to the psychological game of cat and mouse between the two characters, while the line “I think I might have killed somebody” takes on a dreadful significance by the end of the episode.
Moody, atmospheric, and very dark, The Trolley Problem is one of the strongest episodes of the entire series. It may be a variation on an established theme, but the production values and wonderfully ambiguous central performances distinguish it from the other two-handers that Inside No.9 has produced.

What I'm looking for:
End goal? A life partner, in every sense of the word. That person who will be there for you no matter what, and you for them. Someone who I can make hot cocoa for and spend all night with, huddled under blankets on the sofa watching movies and talking about life. :)
But of course, it takes time to foster a relationship that is at that point. I like to pace myself when getting to know someone for that very reason. I want to be sure that I can give my whole self to a person, you know? That is some vulnerable stuff. So to start, it'd probably just be chatting online before graduating to more and more stuff slowly.
Anyway, that’s the preamble. Now into a bit about me, I guess. I’m 26, as mentioned in the title. I’m from the northeast of the US. I love having deep conversations about life/philosophy/relationships, but also really enjoy video games, film, novels, comics, etc.
Before I go any farther, I might as well start with the "fundamentals" so I don't waste your time/vice-versa.

Hi everyone, I was hoping to get some advice. I'm looking to get a new broadband setup for when I move and have been unsure between my 2 choices. The best speed I can get is 61mb for either £27/month or £30/month (I'm in the UK).
The difference is the Sky hub I will be getting with that, namely the Sky broadband hub or the sky max hub. It's a smaller semi-detached house I'm moving to and really I don't need that much: I need to handle zoom and teams calls, watch youtube or Netflix. I do a lot of online research but beyond downloading a game I don't have any super taxing internet habits, I think. (I don't really game online, maybe I'd try in the future but if it doesn't work I can upgrade).
Now, technically I prefer simpler wifi and while it sounds stupid I am a bit concerned about a newer wifi technology and the implications of having more frequencies floating around – I don't intend this in a tinfoil hat kind of way at all, I know things are fine but I am hypersensitive to some things such as sound and kind of struggle with anxiety/ocd that makes it harder for me to not get caught up in intrusive thoughts. Of course those are separate issues but change isn't easy for me and making a choice like this brings up a lot of stress for me so I'd appreciate advice.
Also I read an explanation that wifi 6 switches off when not in use, can someone explain that to me maybe?

Always wanted to post this but the official AITA thread was always too intimidating so here I am. I'll try not to ramble too much but buckle up as this spans several years.
I met my BFF on an online video game when I was 14. Back then, people were rather harsh to girl gamers but he always stood up for me which caused us to grow closer. Let's call this friend B and he was a year older than me.
B and I grew to be close friends as we grew. He helped me through some really bad mental spots and I did my best for him in return despite our distance. When I was about 17, B got engaged to his GF. His GF never really liked me and made him limit his time gaming with me. This resulted in me realizing my feelings for him. I decided to tell him said feelings as we never really hid things from each other. I told him that I didn't expect him to like me back since he was engaged and that I just wanted to get it off my chest. He thanked me for not hiding it and we carried on like nothing happened. Eventually, B's engagement fell apart but we still remained as friends and nothing more. I was content with this.
At some point, I decided to move in with my ex gf and drove 20 hours with my brother to do so. I quickly regreted this as it was hell on earth. My ex would always threaten to commit unalive whenever I hinted at breaking up.
I vented to B about this one night, admitting I was at my wits end. He knew I had been trying to break up with her for a while. Suddenly, B confessed that he loved me. I was taken aback as it had been almost 4 years since my confession and we never discussed it since. I asked if he was serious and if he meant it as a friend and he said no. He meant romantically. I was over the moon. My heart felt so light. This gave me the push to finally break up with my gf and to have the police on speed dial if something happened. Thankfully, she just cried and left and her grandparents came to get her stuff.
We were 6 months into our lease at this point so my brother and I had to plan what to do next. I asked if he wanted to move to the state B lived in since neither of us wanted to turn tail and run home. He agreed. Its important to note that B and I were not dating at this point. We were being flirty but that's about it. Once we decided to move to B's state I asked him about being official and he said once we moved in together. Again, I was excited.
6 months later and we made the drive to our new apartment with B. Things were great for the first month and B was being affectionate and sweet. I was happy.
Here's where shit hits the fan:
I learned that another online friend of mine had become homeless. Let's call her S. I had only know S for a few years at this point but I was both a bleeding heart and a people pleaser so I asked them if they wanted to move in with us and share my room. She agreed. Prior to her moving in, I had her join us for some online gaming so everyone could get to know each other prior to moving in. B and S really got along but B is really good about getting along with people so I wasn't surprised. They even began to play games without me which was fine as I trusted B.
When I got home from picking up S from the airport, I saw B sleeping on the couch. I was confused and he had left her a hand written note saying stuff about how it had been a long day so he was giving up his bed for her for tonight. I thought it was sweet and left it alone.
I'll take this time to mention that we didn't have a room for S. I offered to share my room or give her the master closet. I know that sounds bad but it was big enough to fit a twin size bed in there and some. We were all early 20s and S really wanted somewhere to live so it was all we could do. Before moving in, S had actually AGREED to the closet idea so she could have her own space.
Not long after S moved in, I noticed a lot of B's attention focused on her. I was a bit hurt but said nothing. Not long later, they began sharing a room as S claimed she never agreed to the closet deal. Being the people pleaser I was, I let it go. I was in denial. B wouldn't hurt me and he still gave kisses goodbye when he left. I thought it was all fine.
That was until B's cat batted an empty box of condoms out into the hallway from B's room.
B and I never had sex. We had never even discussed it. He was a bit religious so I never brought it up. This broke me. My head finally put 2 and 2 together. I broke down. I went into B's room and destroyed 10 years worth of crafts I made for him and left the pieces on the floor. My brother did his best to console me until they got home. I demanded to know what was going on and B admitted to lying about loving me. My heart broke. I sobbed, begging to know why and he said it was to get me to break up with my ex faster. I loved this man for so long and he hurt me like this? I was inconsolable. Living there was hell after that. Little issues turned into big fights with S backing up B and my brother backing me up. Eventually, my brother forfeited his half of the deposit so we could get off the lease and move. We couldn't move far but I had to get away from him. My friends were gone.
A few months after we moved out, B contacted me, apologizing for what he did and how he acted after we found out. This contact was in the form of a hand written note inside a sketch book I had left that he dropped off at my work. He wanted to hang out and I said fine. "Offer to buy me food and I'll be there." Money was tight at the time so I wanted compensation.
Every time after that, they would buy me something to eat when we hung out. I could never get the disgust out of my mouth from being around them. Oh, and S never apologized for what she did. She knew we were dating or at least that I THOUGHT we were dating but she still went for him and never told me what was going on.
Right before the pandemic closed the world down, I moved back home. I had totaled my car and just couldn't afford to live there anymore. Once home, B asked to play games online like the good ole days. I tried but I was at my breaking point as a people pleaser and just didn't care anymore. After a couple of sessions, I told him that I couldn't do this anymore as my trust was completely gone. I told him while I accepted his apology, I didn't forgive him. He said ok. I left the voice chat and unfriended him. I haven't heard from him since.
Its been 4 years since then and it still hurts. He had been with me through my entire teenage and young adult years. What I find interesting is that when I tell this story to people, they call me a jerk. A lot of B's friends cut contact with me after it all happened too. They say he was really remorseful and that I should have given him a second chance. This incident caused me to lose all of my friends at the time, making 2020 even harder to get through. Was I wrong to drop my BFF over a lie?

Just curious as my cat decided to bite my leg 3x tonight and i have red marks on my leg that weren't bleeding heavily just a small leak so small it clotted in under a minute like it had been scratched.
I would normally not think anything of it just clean it with soapy water and move on but i was told recently you should always see the doctor if a cat bites you even if it isn't deep because the chance of infection is super high but i'm not sure how true that is.
Googled it and got mixed responses some say just wash the wound and don't worry some say to always head to a doctor right away so i'm not sure what to believe.
Figured i'd ask cause i'm weighing up heading to the hospital since there are no walk in medical centres here and no doctors have appointments till monday but i don't want to waste the time of people in the emergency room or take up space if it's not as serious as everything i have read online makes it out to be.

Hi, i’m not sure where to start.. but first of all i’m mentally ill and i’m trying to work on myself for years. I have clinical depression, social anxiety and bipolar disorder which makes me even more “easy” to hurt. My bf has untreated adhd and anger issues. He deal with this on his own by smoking canabis since he was 13. Problem is that he is stoned since he wakes up till he goes to sleep and he is so angry when he’s not. He can’t even try to solve things or communicate without smoking. It really piss me of when i’m trying to communicate with him about some problem and he gets mad and “needs to calm down to think” by going to smoke. He’s also smoking at work which i’m not okay with. This is not the reason why i’m writing this but i just want you to get into this situation as much as i can. We are together for a year. 4 months ago i’ve made a choice to change my job so we can live together and spend more time together. Now we are coworkers (we worked at a same place just in diff shifts which made it hard for us cuz i woke him up when i came back from work). It was hard for me to change a shift cuz of my social anxiety. I also lost my best friend cause he hated him and said that he will hurt me. Now to the problem - when we were together for like 6 months my girl friend tried his loyalty by trying to flirt with him - and he failed in whole another level. Just for you to know we did it cause i didn’t trust him cuz of some things that i knew.. like.. he is exhibicionist i guess.. in past he sent a lot of dic pics to random people cuz that feeling that someone could see it turned him on.. i never thought it was a real problem cause he never really had a gf before me so i thought that that’s the reason why he was doing stuff like this. Buut I found out by accident that he is STILL doing this stuff! And he is paying for it?… he is paying online cam sites like omegle to show his D to people. I found it really weird. We r having s*x normally so that’s not a problem. As i said we ate living together but he is doing this stuff when i go to visit my parents? They live 15 min away. Also i’ve found out when i was at my lowest - my cat (10) tragically died in my arms and i was for a week at my patent’s cuz it was our cat and they were also destroyed by what happend to our cat. My cat died before Valentine’s and i was waiting for my psychiatrist to change andress in my sick note so i couldn’t leave to go to see him. He got mad and sent me a lot of angry ugly voice mails and went to go show his D on cam sites and do stuff…. lately when i tried to talk to him about this he just told me that he thought that it was over and that he can’t hurt methat he wasnt really thinking. He did this whole year of our relationship and this was his “sorry.” He told me that he is sorry and that he loves me. I stayed calm and tried to understand why is he doing this and stayed hurt inside. Lately i had a break down cuz of that (which makes sense i guess). He’s been so jealous lately that i talk to my coworkers (30+ with wifes) and that im too kind to people and that im smilin at people???.. i seriously don’t know what to do … i tried to do my best to fix this relationship but i’m at my limit. He cheated on me our whole relationship i gave him EVERYTHING and he is mad that i’m smiling at people? What the heck. What’s wrong with him? Please help me
