2024.05.16 22:54 Outrageous-Class6470 What should my credit report show?

My ch 7 bankruptcy discharged today, yay! During the process nearly everything was removed from my credit report and my score jumped 100 points. Now it’s all back on my report and it’s dropped 100 points. Expected that.
What I want to know is, what is allowed to show on my credit report now after discharge? I know it will need time to update, I just want to know what to expect.
For example my mortgage, which was not reaffirmed but has never ever had a missed payment and will continue to be paid, says “derogatory - chapter 7 bankruptcy” and stopped reporting my payments as of November 2023. Will they remove this comment and begin reporting payments again?
Other credit card accounts show either closed or derogatory and 90-120 days late. Do these comments stay on my report and continue to impact my score?
I want to build my credit back up eventually, so I want to make sure everything that is being reported is fair according to what is allowed.
Thank you for any input!

2024.05.16 22:53 ifonlyYRUso Can credit cards change a debt from charged off to late/unkown.

I started paying off old debt collections 5-6 years old credit cards. Most just settled with a much less amount than what I owed. But now the companies that charged off my debt sent me a tax form to pay tax on it are now changing it in my credit report and reporting it again all these years later.

2024.05.16 22:51 Top-Crab4048 Is Season 4 the most unhinged?

Running through the show and currently finished season 4 and so far:
*Ricky is the new Park Supervisor and has boarded up the whole park and completely closed it off from outsiders.
*He's racked up God knows how much on fake credit cards in Julian's name and is running an endless loop of scams ($10 A MONTH!!).
*Mr Lahey and Randy are homeless after doing a bid.
*Julian is forced to go on the run and live behind the King of Donair and is hitting the Swish haerrd.
*Ricky actually passes grade 10. (WHAT IN THE FUCK?!).
*Randy after suffering days without a cheeseburger is forced to break their NO COLOGNE AGREEMENT with Mr.Lahey and is forced to hit the streets again as Smokey and prostitute himself for cheeseburgers again.
*Sarah starts banging Cory and Trevor thus automatically taking ownership of them from Ricky.
*Ricky, Bubbles and Julian beat the shit out of each other with bats cus Ricky and Bubbles think Julian is a Samsquamch monster.
*Julian concocts his greasiest scheme yet by turning the trailer park into a wholesale Rub N Tizzug.
*This scheme turns out to be so successful that he has to enlist Cory and Trevor as a couple extra pair of hands.
*Cory and Trevor protest at first but Trevor decides that "It might be fun".
*Philadelphia Collins makes his glorious debut.
*J-ROC hires a new manager whose Grand Plan is to land J-ROC in jail for his own good ("You gotta go to jail to sell this record")
*Ricky is BANGIN BAERB? WTF??!
*We learn that the Presidency of the International Association of Trailer Parks, Trailer Park Supervisors and Assistant Trailer Park Supervisors very well maybe the most prestigious office perhaps only second to the US President. And that it's President Bernie Sanford has NOOOOOO candy for Ricky.
*Mr.Lahey tries to win back Bobandy by trying to hunt a bluejay for a dirty old bluejay burger for Randy.
*Ricky has grown about a billion dollars worth of dope.
*Conky and Sam the Caveman make their debuts.
*A stoned and horny mountain lion (or tiger) steals Randy's burgers and sexually assaults Trevor.
*Bubbles tries to adopt Steve French the mountain lion.
*The boys are forced to abduct Rita MacNeil and her band to harvest their dope fields at gun point.
*Baerb in a last ditch effort to keep control of the Park proposes to Ricky.
*Ricky says "yes" cus "it's not everyday that someone asks you to marry them"
*This drives Mr.Lahey off the wall and he tries to kill Ricky by blowing up his Trailer with propane, propane.
*Mr.Lahey's descent into madness boils over in the finale as he straps dynamite to himself and commits to ending Ricky once and for all.
*Ricky gets shot again.
*Mr.Lahey gets committed to a mental hospital.
Did I miss anything?

2024.05.16 22:47 ferrus_aub Inventor 2025 Crashes Whenever I open an existing file or create a new one

Hello,
Basically the title. I have educational inventor subscription and I have been using inventor both professionally and academically for nearly 10 years.
This is the first time I am having such problem. Whenever trying to open or creating a new file the app crashes immediately and it wants to send a crash report.
Here is what I tried
The interesting thing is it was actually working the first couple of days I have been using it. The problem started after 2-3 days. But I don't remember doing anything specific that would cause this.
I am using avast antivirus.
I would appreciate if anyone has any ideas to fix that.
Thanks,

2024.05.16 22:46 MzKittyBrown Anyone else get scammed by Credit Sage?

They called me and were telling me about how they could probably would be able to take off all my discrepancies. Wound up charging me $275 to do the work on my credit. They also had signed me up for Standard Scores at $25 a month. A month goes by and another credit program I have reported to me that my name and info is on 90 websites. And I never use my middle name but I used it for credit sage and that's how my name came up on those sites. That's how I know it was them. Then they go to auto charge me $99 monthly. All of a sudden I get an email that I signed up for a porn site. Then I get a text that I signed up for moneylion. I'm about to call them now and put my credit on freeze to. And it's not like I even have good credit lol
Stay away from credit sage! Sold my info. Better off doing it yourself.

2024.05.16 22:26 jayflippa Unauthorized Capital One account

Misplaced by SSN in 2021 and immediately got it replaced within a month span and then 2 years later in September of 2023 an unauthorized individual most likely used my SSN to sign up for a Capital One credit card (found out when I seen it on my Experian credit), whoever it was then proceeded to make the first 4 payments on time and then ever since February of this year, they stopped and it was most likely because I closed and reported the account via the Experian app when I initially noticed. But despite that, they keep showing the missed late payments on my Experian account and when I try to call Capital One, first thing they ask for is a 16 digit card number which I don’t have because it’s obviously a fraud case. Called Experian but they can never have a representative on the phone when I need one… Any solution to stop the payments from occurring every month to not damage my credit even more despite already reporting this case? Thanks in advance

2024.05.16 22:26 princessjellymoon Need advice to tackle my loan and my collection and I’m not sure where to start

I have a current loan I’m paying for and a 2 collections on my report for 956 and 2041.
I currently owe 2410.61 on my current loan and the APR is 31.01%. I literally got this loan because I was being sued at the time by a collections agency and I didn’t know what else to do because I wasn’t making nearly any money at the time.
I don’t know if I should pay the small collection first or my current loan since it’s more?
I know the collections fall off my report after 7 years from the first day of delinquency which according to Experian is December 2019 for both collections. But what’s truly worrying me is if I’ll be sued for these if I don’t work on paying them off now? Like I don’t know how I’ll be able to deal if I am sued again
I take home 2360 a month and my current expenses are:
Rent (I split the rent with my mom): 959 Phone: 110 My half of the electric: 70 Gas for the month: 135 My half of groceries for the month: 250 Car Insurance: 81 The minimum for this loan: 158.65 Capitol One Credit Card: 100 Spotify: 11 Netflix: 17
And the rest of my money sadly goes to my shopping addiction that I know I have and struggle with….
I just want to get out of all this debt finally because it’s driving my anxiety insane.

Greetings Adventurers!

We've just restructured and consolidated our previous Rules page to be more straightforward and cohesive. By participating in our Subreddit, you are committing to honor and abide by our rules.

1) Be respectful and civil

As straightforward as it gets, the number one rule for a reason. Be kind to others, be good people.
Please don't hesitate to contact Modmail if you are feeling unsafe for any reason.

2) No targeted harassment or personal attacks

In tandem with Rule 1, this rule more specifically refers to direct attacks on individuals. Under no circumstances should any individual feel like they are being unjustly targeted, attacked, or under the threats of malicious intent by any other individual(s).
Do not make anyone feel unsafe or unwelcome. We do not take these situations lightly.

2024.05.16 22:21 sadsunnyday Harvard Next Cycle Guidance

First year CC student. Graduated high school with a low GPA (2.0?) four years ago.
Was severely depressed, so had to finish high school through an adult school to earn enough credit to graduate. Going back to school/college for the first time since the pandemic.
I want to register for summer classes at my community college to get a head start, but the counselor (who was highly praised by students) doesn’t seem to care. Just feeling very overwhelmed right now, and would like some help.
I know aiming for Harvard with my current stats is very ambitious, but I simply don’t want to live with any more regrets or what-ifs. Just the sheer act of going through the admission process will give me motivation for general schooling, and force me to learn fundamental skills I missed out on in high school.
Would really appreciate some guidance on how to navigate the transfer process and apply for the next admission term (March 1st, 2025):
  1. I plan to start filling out my Common App essays as soon as the next cycle opens on July 31st, 2024. Is this a good idea?
  2. SAT/ACT scores are required, but I’m sure mine were not the best. I don’t have time to retake them since I want to transfer within a year. I also have AP exam scores (highest would be a 3 or 4 tbh). How many, and which score should I send in?
  3. College/Dean’s/Registrar’s report. This was labeled under “Printable Transfer Application Forms” (along with Havard Transfer Supplement and Midterm Report), and was explicitly stated that you cannot fill these out electronically. Would I have to go talk directly to the Dean, and ask them to fill then mail this out?
  4. Havard Transfer Supplement. Not to be filled out electronically. Does this mean it has to be handwritten. Or can I type on it then print to mail?
  5. Official High School Transcript. Which one do I submit: high school vs adult school transcript? Do I submit both?
  6. Course Credits. I know Harvard does not accept students with more than 60 credits. How many should I take to be considered a junior applicant? I want to apply as a junior since I want less emphasis on my high school GPA. I don’t really care about which CC credit can be transferred over, but would Harvard care if only 15 credits or less can be transferred?
  7. I plan on taking online classes for my summer semester. Would this affect anything? Those classes are still considered college courses right?
  8. “Test scores can be particularly helpful for non-traditional students. We encourage non-traditional students to submit an exam taken within three years of applying for transfer to reflect current academic ability.” What is considered a non-traditional student? I’ve seen “4-year traditional student” on this subreddit a lot. I assume that means a transfer student from a four year university. Would I be considered non-traditional?
  9. Is there anything else I need to know?
I’m feeling very anxious because I feel like I’m running out of time. Thank you to those who took the time to read this, and answer my questions.

I understand that depositing $10k over a one year period requires reporting to the IRS. However if you are just paying for a credit card balance with cash at a branch location does this count towards to the 10k limit where a bank can report?

2024.05.16 22:11 Anthrax-Pixie ● Meet Scapegoat. ●

Here's another old/new OC! I have fond memories of this guy, and I thought he would fit into HH/HB very well. No art yet, but maybe soon!
S C A P E G O A T
Description: This bizarre creature seems mostly human at first, but closer inspection reveals the very.. well.. goat-ish qualities. He has no fur, but his skin is a rich mahogany tone etched with a variety of scars from head to toe. It is uncertain whether these were self-inflicted or caused by others. Two thick black horns grow out of a mass of unkempt dark brown hair and curl around large floppy ears, both of which have had noticeable chunks taken out. His eyes are simply two wide yellow circles devoid of pupils, and he sports the sharpened teeth often attributed to the cannibals, though he has not been known to partake. Bare feet show that he has dirty black hooves. He wears a filthy pair of plain tan pants and an ancient, torn straightjacket. Though the arms of the jacket have been unsecured, allowing him free use of his upper body, he has difficulty handling objects due to the length of the sleeves covering his hands. He also walks in a constant hunched state, as the groin strap has not been removed or unbuckled.
Personality: Unknown. The creature rarely speaks, and when he does the words are often gibberish and do not relate to what was asked of him. His voice is exceptionally gruff and can be difficult to hear. If left alone, he does not seem to desire to bother anyone. If approached with kind intent, he has been described as docile if perhaps a bit slow-minded. When agitated or provoked, he has been known to resort to incredible acts of violence which cannot be mollified until one or the other is dead. He does not seem to register any pain for himself in this heightened state.
Lore: Little is known about where this peculiar man came from. He had no name and seemingly no history when he showed up at a police station one day, drenched in blood and taking claim to several unsolved murders. Forensics on the blood returned no known victims, nor were any reported after the fact. Fingerprints of the man also yielded nothing. It was as if he, along with his supposed victims, had never existed at all. Unsure of what else to do with the stranger, he was quickly relinquished to the care of the closest psychiatric hospital for evaluation. Here, he refused all treatment and continued to insist that he was a murderer. He even began to take credit for crimes committed by other patients of the hospital. This earned him the nickname "The Scapegoat" by those around him. Those who attempted to convince him otherwise were subjected to outbursts of varying degree, some merely being spit on or having food thrown at them, while others were brutally beaten. Because of his unpredictable nature, the man was sequestered to isolation for the remainder of his life and required a straightjacket during all interactions with staff. He died in the early 1990's from an overdose of medication that he had been hoarding unknown to the nurses. His age at the time was unknown, but approximated to be in his mid-30's to early 40's.

2024.05.16 21:55 RepresentativeTip817 Bought a car off private seller for 86,000 miles and found out that the odometer was rolled back and originally has 280,000 miles. What legal options do I have?

I am in California and I bought a car off FB marketplace from a private seller whose name wasn't on the title. He said he buys cars and resells them for profit and I didn't want to purchase the car until he could assure that the car was able to be under my name.
Private seller suggested a smog and registration service that is DMV approved because he knows the people that work there. I searched the location and everything seemed legit and had good reviews.
The day we went to transfer the title under my name, I asked the person doing the transfer if everything was correct that there were no issues and he assured me that nothing was wrong and to just wait for the title in the mail in 2 weeks.
Fast forward 1 week later I see that the title says Not Actual Mileage. So I run a Carfax ( I know I should have done this beforehand but this was my first time buying a car so now I'm paying the consequences) and found out that the car has 280,000 miles and not 86,000 like I thought it had. I messaged the seller and obviously he didn't reply and used a fake profile and blocked me.
I did some investigation and found his real social media and real name so I will provide that to the police when I file a police report on him. I also see other that a lot of his friends are mechanics and registration services which makes me believe that this is a group of people working to scam people of their money in that area.
I also found out that the registration place I transferred my title at had another yelp reviewer this year say that that place does fraud and works with scammers in the area trying to sell cars that do not work, so I am not the first person this has happened to. Like I said, this is a legit business.
At this point I am not sure what to do and how to go about this. I am assuming my first step be to file a police report. But since I cannot reach the private seller can I also make a report on the business for fraud?
Any information is appreciated.

I cancelled my Cash+ card with US Bank over a year ago. I just received an email about Happy Anniversary (even though the card was opened in a January, not May) with the last 4 digits of the old card displayed. Just a glitch, or is the account still open somewhere with them? I don't think it shows on my credit report as an open account...
Edit: shows closed on my credit report.

2024.05.16 21:26 emoeji Can credit saint help get rid of something legitimate in collections?

Pretty much what happened was during the pandemic all the gyms closed and paused memberships. Sometime after that, I was dealing with some crap so I switched banks and had a new phone number and email. When the gyms opened up again, I didn’t know that my membership was in effect again, I was already going to a different gym. Then one day I checked my credit report and seen Aldous and Associates was trying to collect a debt from me for under $200 and honestly, I didn’t care much as my life was somewhat in turmoil. Recently I got a good job and thought that maybe now would be a good time to fix my credit. This morning I went on credit saint and filled out my information, then coincidentally and hour later that same exact debt was reported to equifax and transunion, before it was only on experian. Now I’m wishing I had fixed this sooner and I’m hoping that someone can help me with this debt.
Can credit saint help? i want it to be completely gone from all my reports I’m told I can do most of the work myself but I’ve got anxiety and I’m also extremely lazy, I’d rather pay someone to do it. I’m currently embarrassed because I’ve ruined my credit on less than $200.

2024.05.16 21:25 Expert_Fee2582 Dumb ass decisions

Came here from newtothenavy. Pretty much made a bunch of dumb decisions in my late teens that results in 2 repos (truck and bike) and a maxed credit card and a few other things I didn't even know about till I got my credit report the other day. Also in a tight spot at the moment due to having to move my family since my current landlord has opted to sell the house we're renting. Anyways as it stands now my credit is shit, and am trying to join the navy as a means to better my life situation for me and my family however most jobs I'm intrested in require clearance to some degree. I know "start paying" which is my goal to do so but won't be able to until we secure another place and since missing work for the warrior challenge pst and workouts my check have definitely been lighter to where I'm not able to start paying until stuff stables out. Want to be an HM , HM-ATF is my biggest goal hoping to either get slotted as SOIDC or SAR Corpsman. I know this credit will hender my ability to get clearance. Which to my understanding is needed for both positions as well as most other NECs I'm intrested in and don't want to get stuck doing a job I hate do to my credit not allowing me to pursue my first choices as I'm athleticly fit (first pst was a solid attempt minus my swim which i had told the recruiter that i def needed help getting the form down and hes since helped me fix that as well, and scored 93 on my asvab, with my scores being more than enough to get the job I want. What can I do to get things in a better position, would simply starting payments on everything allow me to get clearance or are these something that I should stop the process entirely until they're settled? Considered doing reserves until I was more financially secure however others have pointed out that it wouldn't benefit me in the ways that I thought it might. Any advice and wisdom is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

2024.05.16 21:22 Beginning_Offer_2882 Identity theft and constant debt being created despite warnings/notes on Transunion and Equifax file. Debt now going to collections and I dont know what to do.

I've been in an on going battle of phones over the last year with these creditors and collectors. (Ontario)
Despite warnings that say "do not change any information on this file with out contacting X at X number" on my files, my credit files information (address, phone number, email) is constantly being changed and new debt is being issued to my name.
The collectors Metcredit and Pyxis Solutions contact me daily about these debts to stores I've never went to in my life.
Thankfully I've been a sahm for 15 years and I don't need my credit for anything at this moment, so I have that going for me but I would love to have this all behind me.
The creditors suggested i get a police report created and sent to them but my local police refuse to do so for lack of evidence that these were created on fraudulent terms... I'm going to go back another day and hopefully get a different clerk as this one seemed angry and unwilling to help.
Has anyone every dealt with something like this and come out of it?
Could use any help or information on the matter.

2024.05.16 21:21 white-tara Dealing with an online stalker who is now harassing friends and family

I’m looking for advice on how to deal with an online stalker who has become psychotic or is potentially schizophrenic.
At first he was just sending really hateful emails to me, full of lies and false accusations, he even filed a fake police report about me which when I talked to the police officer about what happened, they dismissed his case.
He has now moved onto contacting anyone who he thinks is friends with me and sending long emails to these people with lies and false information about me.
I am wondering if there’s anything legally i can do about it at this point?
I do fear for my safety and have had security alarms installed in my house and now carry personal protection. Is there anything I can do to stop him from harassing other people with lies about me?

2024.05.16 21:12 avonina [Tenant-NC] How do landlords know if eviction is on record? What records can I check myself to see if/how it shows up?

Hi there, So I had a situation where an old roommate of mine (in NYC) held over in the apartment we were renting together, and although I had a whole new lease at a new apartment, we were both taken to court in a holdover case. I’m not sure of the technical legal jargon, but after we were served papers and we went to court the roommate agreed to leave and it was dismissed - no judgement for rent is in my name at all.
So I know at least nothing is on my credit and I don’t have any outstanding debt with my old landlord. It was an unfortunate situation and now I want to move back to NC and live on my own where I can afford it and avoid roommate mishaps damaging my rental record.
Now, I am unsure if/how it even shows up, but I want to be prepared and make a plan for when I decide to move at the end of this year.
What records should I be checking to see if it pops up? I know typically landlords can see judgements on credit reports but that’s not my case here. I want to pull all my reports before I start applying so I can plan accordingly. Thank you!
EDIT: Look, I know notoriously landlords are lowkey assholes who don’t view tenants as real humans… which is fine, your prerogative and whatever morals/god you answer to has nothing to do with me. BUT, downvoting and giving bullshit answers to take out your weird strifes with bad tenants you may have doesn’t help anybody navigate trying to find somewhere TO LIVE, which is a basic human fucking right. I’m asking these questions in good faith - I messed up with having a bad roommate (that I literally had to get a retraining order on btw!!!!) was in my early 20’s fresh in NYC and have since fucked up my perfect rental history. My income and credit are fantastic, never paid rent late a day in my life and I’ve been renting since I was 18. I’m now in my late 20’s, simply trying to navigate how to find secure housing amidst an eviction on my record that was due to a dangerous, manipulative roommate that threatened my life. I know it may not occur to y’all we are real humans that end up in shitty situations, which is fine. But actual answers and not snarky comments and downvotes would actually help. Have a ducking heart jfc

2024.05.16 21:12 Starrx007 Got Dept. of Ed. email for loan forgiveness. Continue to pay?

My friend received the email from them saying her undergrad loans are eligible for forgiveness and the DoEd will work with her loan servicer to process it. She's coming out of forbearance from signing up for the SAVE plan end of this month so there's a payment due. Should she continue to pay? I read that they will refund extra payments but I'm not sure if Mohela will do that promptly as they're not known for good customer service. I think she can just stop paying because Biden put a pause on late fee and negative credit reporting untill this July or Sept if I remember correctly. But she's afraid that Mohela will report anyway and ruin her credit score. If you got the email in the previous round, how long did it take for the DoEd to process the loan forgiveness? Thank you.

2024.05.16 20:55 princessjellymoon Please help me figure out the most efficient way to pay off this loan!

I got a loan for about 4.3k back in 2021 to try and pay back a collector who was suing me for a collection I had and I know that was incredibly stupid because but honestly I was young and I had never been sued in my life and I was terrified and not making much money at the time at all. And it’s literally 3 years later and I’m still paying for it and I’m tired of being in debt for it.
I currently owe 2410.61 and the APR is 31.01%
I take home 2360 a month and my current expenses are:
Rent (I split the rent with my mom): 959 Phone: 110 My half of the electric: 70 Gas for the month: 135 My half of groceries for the month: 250 Car Insurance: 81 The minimum for this loan: 158.65 Capitol One Credit Card: 100 Spotify: 11 Netflix: 17
And the rest of my money sadly goes to my shopping addiction that I know I have and struggle with….
I have another collection that’s on my credit report right now for about 1.3k about I don’t know if I should just pay that one before paying the one for 2.4k since it’s smaller? I know collections fall off after 7 years from the first day of delinquency? Which on my credit report from Experian was in December of 2019 so I assume it’s getting close? I’m mainly worried about the likelihood of getting sued for this debt too…..like I don’t know how to deal if I get sued again. I just really would like advice.
