I am a visitor to Manila these days.
Like a lot of people I have to wear glasses. I am a retired teacher, early 60s. If I don't wear my glasses I have trouble even wandering around. :P
So because there is a heatwave in Manila, I wore special prescription glasses with tinted lenses so that my eyes were protected from the sunlight as I walked to the museum. (As an older guy I do as much walking as I can for the sake of my health.)
At the Museum of Natural History a security guard approached me and told me I had to take my glasses off because I was a security threat with them on.
Huh?
He thought I was wearing special, evil, nano-technology, laser devices behind them?
Can someone, seriously, please tell me how wearing sunglasses/tinted lenses poses a threat to anyone at a museum?
I couldn't see ANYTHING displayed at the museum and had to leave. I tried talking about this to a few people at the museum, but it didn't do any good.
I wrote to the museum and to the office of tourism and I received no reply. This does not surprise me - I can see that the people of Manila are suffering from lots of problems, especially poverty. If your government is not responsive to the people in regard to serious concerns, why would they answer an old foreign guy's email about the public security threat he was posing to people in a museum? :P
I don't know. The day before I had a small "jockey cap" on to protect my eyes from the sun and they made me remove this at the art museum. That didn't affect my ability to see anything though, so it was OK.
Maybe security at the National Museums just think I'm a sexy old guy and they want me to remove different articles of clothing each time I show up?
Hmmmm...sounds kind of kinky. I wonder what they'll want me to remove next?

Twin 7 month olds. Currently transitioning from 3 naps to 2 naps and wondering if anyone had any advice?
Depending on how well naps 1 & 2 go we are finding that nap 3 can sometimes be skipped however the majority of the time they are waking from nap 2 just too late for us to get a 3rd in before bedtime which is meaning a long wake window with some cranky babies (waking at 3ish for a 7:30 bedtime)
People who have been here before, should I be capping the 2nd nap so they wake up with enough time for a 3rd? This feels counterintuitive though as we want them to nap for longer going forward. Or should I push bedtime later on these days to allow for an extra 15/20 minute catnap?
Our transition from sleeping all day to 4 naps just happened organically and then 4 to 3 the girls pretty much decided overnight that they were ready to be awake more so this is the first time we’ve experienced this.

You might know me as the White Magician, a rather crude name, but I will accept it considering Man’s World's lack of creativity. However, you may also call me Circe, and I am here with an important message that your news station will deliver for all to hear.
SCYTHE is no more: their HQ is under my and the Red Centipedes’ command. The Commander and his soldiers are dead and buried, as you all wished to happen. I was more than happy to oblige you if it meant depriving your stupid President of her next chance for reelection. Any survivors of the prison break are being hunted down by the people they locked in cages, who are more than happy to round them up as they once had been themselves.
But none of that’s important, for this recording is only to be heard by one person: Olympos, Wonder Girl, or whatever the fuck new title name you want to be called. This message is for you: You are to surrender yourself to me here in SCYTHE HQ in the next five hours, and in turn, I will not destroy this piss-end of a city. If you fail, I promise you, I will make Coast City look like a picnic by the time I finish with Gateway.
That cow you call Wonder Woman is dead, and I will make sure everyone else will follow her if you don’t comply with my request.
Your mentor learned a valuable lesson when she tested my patience.

[...President Cale has announced the complete closure of all access to Gateway City following the prison break that occurred in SCYTHE’s holding facility hours ago,] said Cassandra Arnold from GateNews, the city’s main news station. [We still have an unconfirmed number of escapees following the message sent by the White Magician, but the President has assured GateNews a solution will be found.]
Vanessa Kapatelis watched the TV in dismay. Pacing back and forth in the Spears duplex apartment, she had the TV on to pass the time while Ares worked on helping Helena and Cassandra upstairs.
“Here,” Vanessa turned away from the TV to see Tanya Spears handing her a bottle of water. “Something for you to drink.”
“Thank you,” Vanessa accepted the bottle. “I would prefer a beer, but this will make do.”
“My mom has her wine collection in a locked cabinet,” Tanya noted, pointing at the kitchen. “She doesn’t know that I know that, but I can get you a bottle?”
Vanessa chuckled. “Thanks, but I don’t want a girl your age to be walking around with alcohol or to get you in trouble with your mom.” She twisted the bottle cap and slowly drank. “I needed that… it feels like I’ve been dry for months.”
“It’s actually been 3 hours,” Tanya said, sitting on the sofa and opening her tablet to look over the internet. “I hope what she said wasn’t true… about Wonder Woman not being around…”
Taking a seat by her side, Vanessa saw that Tanya was reading through the report on what happened to SCYTHE. The escaped convicts had taken control of the SCYTHE headquarters and equipment after killing many of the agents that had stood in their way.
Seeing the photo of SCYTHE HQ burning angered her. That place should represent the absolute shield of Gateway. Now, it had come under the control of the convicts that they were supposed to stop because of Aeeta Branwen. A name that had made her happy now belonged to a stranger who had lied to her all this time.
Memories of their most intimate moments came flooding back: their first conversation, their first date, their kiss, and the morning after their date in her apartment. It was a moment when she thought she could finally stop grieving and move on from what happened to Coast City. And now, that had been disintegrated into oblivion.
In anger, she crushed the bottle with her hand, spraying water all over the table and the floor.
“Shit!” Vanessa stood up, finally realizing her mistake. “I am sorry!”
“Oh, it's fine!” Tanya ran to the kitchen to grab some paper towels. “It’s just water.”
“I know it’s just…” Taking the paper towel, the two began wiping the floor and the table. “I have a lot on my mind.”
“I’ll bet with everything that happened,” said Tanya, giving Vanessa a supportive smile. “Your friends are getting hurt, and you can’t do anything but watch. It would piss anyone off. I know it did with me when the RedCent guys invaded EE Tower.”
“Yeah…” Vanessa sat back on the sofa. “But this… I not only possibly lost many friends, but I was betrayed by someone I loved, someone who I thought was the one for me…” she said, distraught, as tears ran down her face.
Tanya, without saying anything more, hugged Vanessa closely. Despite them knowing each other for only a few hours, Tanya knew that Vanessa was in pain. Watching her loved ones being hurt by someone that she trusted must have been a hard truth to accept.
The doors upstairs opening and closing caught the two’s attention. Looking up, they saw Somya Spears descending, looking exhausted, like she had gone ten rounds in the ring. As she reached the ground floor, Tanya ran up to her mother, hugged her close, and guided her to the nearest chair to rest.
“Is everything alright, mom?” Tanya asked, worried.
“Yeah… just felt that I might take that long overdue vacation…” Somya answered, leaning against the soft chair with a tired sigh. “Maybe we’ll go to Paris like you wanted, Tanya…”
More steps followed, and Ares, or Mars as he insisted to be called, followed Somya, pulling his folded-up sleeves back. Unlike Somya, he didn’t seem any different from when he went upstairs to help the Sandsmarks, but the few strands of hair on his face told a different story.
“How are they?” Vanessa asked, walking up to the former God of War. “Are they ok?”
Ares turned to Vanessa. “The girl has a lot of heart, far too stubborn to let a beating keep her down.” He said with praise, impressed with the former Wonder Girl’s willpower. “Her Sumerian blood will help her heal in only a few days, but it won’t help her mental wounds after I told her the news about her mother.”
Vanessa had a lot of questions about what he had said, especially the word Sumerian; perhaps Cassie was not simply half-Olympian. However, she focused on the most important detail in his explanation. “What happened with Helena?” She asked in a worried tone. “Is she-”
“She is alive,” Ares said, but his expression shifted, frowning, making her nervous. “Physically, she will recover, she has only a few cuts and bruises. Even a human like her can heal those.”
“But?”
“But it's the spell Circe struck her with. It is unlike anything I’ve seen because it is of her creation,” Ares explained, and Vanessa ground her teeth together when she heard the name belonging to the stranger who hurt her and her loved ones. “Whatever she used, it is affecting her very soul, slowly killing her.”
“Like a virus?” Vanessa asked, and Ares nodded. “Magic can do that?”
“It does,” Ares answered. “Magic can create a nuclear bomb if the user has the patience for it. And Circe is a master at it, one of the very best and most gifted witches on the planet, so making something like this would be as easy as making a cake for her.”
Magic had never been SCYTHE’s priority, but the Commander still made them study anything related to the subject in case they had to face it. Vanessa had never expected to see it at this scale.
“Can you break it?” Vanessa asked. “Find a way to break the curse from Helena’s soul?”
Ares took a deep breath, pocketing his hands. “It’s too complex to break. I will admit Magic is not my strongest suit, but even if you bring in someone knowledgeable, it would be a while for them to break her creation,” he explained. “You need someone at her level of knowledge when it comes to magic, and I am not the best person to face her in that department.”
“Then we call for a specialist, anyone, really,” Vanessa said in desperation. “If this is like a virus, a curse, then we bring a surgeon to cut it out! Maybe Cassie can use her Justice Legion connection, or maybe you can call someone for a favor.”
Vanessa's desperation was clear. She was willing to call for the Justice Legion, the very people she swore to go against for their vigilantism, if it meant saving Helena Sandsmark, her promise be damned.
“The spell is growing far too rapidly. By the time you find someone, it will be far too late,” Ares said solemnly. “The only person in the world who can break the spell without any problem or fear of failsafe is Hecate, the Goddess of Magic. She was Circe’s mentor, and she taught her everything she could about magic. No matter how complex it is, Hecate would understand it.”
“She can help us?”
Ares shook his head. “No, she has no interest in helping the world unless it is connected to her directly, and even then, dealing with her is the worst-case scenario because there is a chance she’ll side with Circe before she even thinks of helping us.”
“So what now?” Vanessa asked, sounding defeated. “Just let Helena die? Let Cassie suffer? Let Circe win?!” she shouted angrily, finally addressing Circe by name. All of this explanation from Ares told her one thing: that the Witch had them beat, and they couldn’t do anything about it.
Ares didn’t react to her outburst, while the Spears looked worried. Tanya, for her part, tried to walk up to calm Vanessa, but the War God raised his hand to stop her, shaking his head and giving her the silent sign to let Vanessa be.
“There is one way: it will be quicker if we act fast enough, but it would take everything from all of us for it to happen,” Ares said, beginning his explanation. “There is a chain link connecting the spell, from the spell caster to Circe. This means it can be broken if we force Circe to release the chain connecting her to Helena…” he explained, letting his words be understood by the occupants in the room before finishing with one last note. “Killing Circe would also break the binding if she didn’t leave any contingencies.”
Vanessa gritted her teeth. “So we have to make her break the spell, and hopefully she doesn’t screw us over… or we kill her, and hopefully she still doesn’t screw us over even in death?” she asked, and Ares nodded. “What kind of person is willing to put in all that work? Just for revenge? On Diana, who is long gone?”
Ares shrugged and turned to the Spears, his gaze focused on Tanya, his daughter. Someone whom he never thought he would meet again was facing him, without knowledge of their blood relations.
“Possibly,” Ares answered, taking a step back. “But if there is one thing I know for sure, Circe does not put these kinds of bindings without any reason. Whatever that reason is involves Cassandra Sandsmark and whether she will choose to make Circe break the spell or kill her, tainting her forever.”
Silence came to the room, letting Ares’s words sink in for all occupants, which might have been the same words he said to the Sandsmarks.

The room of Somya Spears was quiet, with the only sound being the breathing of Helena Sandsmark lying on the bed sleeping. The room was spacious, with an expensive queen-sized bed as expected from an interim CEO of one the largest companies in the world.
Seated a few feet away on a chair was Cassandra Sandsmark, dressed in fresh clothes given to her by Somya after throwing off the bloody tattered ones she had arrived in. Watching her mother closely, Cassandra’s mind was racing, especially after what Ares told her about the curse Circe placed on her mother, slowly destroying her soul bit by bit until she was nothing but a husk.
“Dammit!” In anger at their situation, she crushed the armchair, tearing its arm off like it was made of paper. If she was stronger, faster, and had the heart for it, she would have stopped the Witch, stopped her from hurting her city, the people of SCYTHE, and those caught in the crossfire, stopped her from hurting her mother…
She buried her face into her hands, tears running down her eyes as she despaired. Everything she worked on after Coast City evaporated was ground up under a very powerful enemy out for revenge.
Considering Circe’s ultimatum, her city could well be gone by the time this was over.
“Artemis… please be safe…” she whispered. She had nearly had a panic attack when she heard the news of the Amazon heading to SCYTHE HQ to stop the prison break, and then… nothing. No matter how many times she dialed her phone, there was no one answering, and she feared for the worst.
She heard her mother coughing, and Cassandra was quickly by her side. “Mom!” she called for her, holding her hand.
“Cassandra?...” Her mother said her name weakly. Her skin was becoming paler, a clear sign that the curse spell was working. “Are you… ok?”
“I’m fine, Mom,” Cassandra answered, covering the bandages hidden inside her clothes. “We’re safe. You’re safe.” she said, tightening both her hands around her mothers.
“Did you… break something?” She asked, looking at the chair behind her. “You shouldn’t be… doing that… we are guests…”
Cassandra laughed, her tears falling away. “Sorry… it’s just… it’s been a hell of a week…”
Helena touched her daughter’s cheek, noticing the bandage on it. “You’re… hurt…”
“It’s alright, Mom. Just a few bruises,” Cassandra assured. “You shouldn’t worry, you know I can take it…”
“I am your… mother, Cassandra,” Helena said, facing her daughter. “Demi-God or not… I will always be worried… scared for my little girl.”
Cassandra’s tears came back. Seeing her mother remain strong despite everything made her happy, and she was terrified of losing her.
“So… my soul is cursed?” Helena asked.
“You heard all that?”
“Can’t not… with all the swearing…” Helena noted, giving her daughter a small smile. “You shouldn’t swear at people, Cassandra, especially those who are trying to help.”
“I know, I know,” Cassandra said. She had gone off on Ares after he explained what happened to her mother, and she might have overreacted when she put all her anger on the former War God. “It’s just… I don’t want to lose you… not while we can fix this.”
Helena sat up on her bed, fully facing her daughter. “Which is why… I don’t want you to make the wrong choice.”
“I won’t,” Cassandra said with a low tone. “I will make Circe free you from this curse-”
“No, Cassandra,” Helena grabbed both of Cassandra’s hands with hers. “That is not what I meant…”
Cassandra raised her brows, confused. “Mom?”
“I heard everything… from Circe’s spell… how it works… and how it can be broken…” Helena said, shocking Cassandra. “I know you already decided what you feel you have to do.”
Cassandra didn’t answer, avoiding her mother’s disapproving gaze accusing her. Ares said the quickest way to break the binding and the spell was either by forcing Circe to break it herself or by killing her, severing the connection.
But if what Circe said was true, that Diana decided to kill her instead of making her surrender like everyone else who faced her, that means there was no chance the Witch would submit willingly. She would rather die than give the satisfaction of admitting defeat.
Which left only one solution where she could save her mother.
Helena sighed, knowing what decision her daughter might have made. She held her hand tightly and changed the subject. “I have to tell you something…”
“No, mom. You’re not giving me the ‘Dying Speech’, not while there is a chance we can save you-”
“It’s about your father,” Helena cut her off, shutting Cassandra up. “Your real father…”
Cassandra remembered Circe calling her Daughter of Enlil, not Zeus. Ares said he was a friend of her father, which confused her because Ares hated Zeus, so it wouldn’t make sense that he would help out even if they were his siblings.
“Enlil…” Cassandra said the name aloud, and Helena’s eyes widened, her breath hitching when she heard the name. “Circe… she called me Daughter of Enlil… Child of the Sky...”
Helena took a deep breath, bringing her daughter closer. “Yes… that is true…” she began. “You are not Zeus’s daughter, Cassandra, nor you are an Olympian in any way… but you are in fact… Sumerian… Mesopotamian,” The elder Sandsmark brought her youngest closer and spoke carefully, as if worried that someone might hear them. “Your father is Enlil, the Sumerian God of Wind… and he was the kindest man I have ever known…”
From then on, Helena explained Cassandra’s origins as carefully as possible, pushing on even while the spell affected her. She explained how she met Enlil, a man with golden hair similar to Cassandra’s, who introduced himself as an expert in Mesopotamian history during an expedition in Iraq. They had become rivals at first due to their clashing personalities, but how that developed into respect, to eventually falling in love after a very lengthy adventure that sounded like the plot of The Mummy.
And that love resulted in Cassandra’s birth. He helped raise her with Helena for the first year and a half before he disappeared because he had Olympian enemies and had to leave them to keep them safe.
While she explained all this, Cassandra’s mind went to another piece of critical information. Her father’s true identity had never been the most important thing for her. But what made it important was what Circe told her about Diana’s true reason for coming to Gateway City. It wasn’t just settling in a ‘piss-end of a city’ the more she taught about it, the more she realized the terrifying truth behind her mentor’s reasoning for coming to the city.
Diana was sent to find Cassandra, a Sumerian Demi-God, the Olympians greatest enemy since the Titans, and eliminate her. The prophecy of the Godkiller that they had feared might have come from Cassandra, but all it did was start a long, personal, and bloody war between two women because of the gods' demands for blood.
And now, she, Artemis, and Gateway City suffered the consequences. Even after Diana’s death, Circe would not let her hatred for what had happened to her go, and if it meant destroying her mentor’s legacy, she would do it.
‘Diana…’ Cassandra thought in sadness.

SCYTHE Sub Base - Industrial District:
“I am not sure how you were able to do it, but you somehow found an ever more depressing place than that HQ of yours. It makes the cell you put us in look like a five-star hotel room,” said one Pamela Isley, formerly Poison Ivy, seated in the middle of a large room behind a large table. Around her were what was left of the SCYTHE agents they had saved during the escape, all working to get the makeshift base they had hidden up and running.
Alexei Abramovici, the Bloodcrow of SCYTHE, glared at the former supervillain, not happy with her comment. He turned to one of his men and began barking orders, “You! Get the goddamn Black Room working! We are running blind here!”
‘Worker drones even without their Commander.’ Pamela looked on unimpressed at the agents. She had never been that sympathetic to the plight of cops getting killed, especially militarized ones. The once mighty and feared peacekeepers of Gateway, who went to war against all the crime syndicates and the Red Centipedes, were now a mere little squad that won’t be able to protect a mini-mart, let alone every escaped convict under the command of the White Magician.
“Man… the signal here sucks!” complained Miguel Barragan by her side, raising his phone and trying to catch any kind of signal. “Could barely talk to my boyfriend when I called him, and can’t connect to the internet,” he complained. He tried once again to call but he couldn’t find a signal. “Useless brick…”
“We are underground in a bunker previously owned by Neo-Nazis, Barragan,” Pamela noted. From what she had heard, this used to be an old RedCent hideout that SCYTHE took over after the war, using it as a smaller base in case of emergency. “Not receiving any signal is part of the appeal of the place.”
“Bunker, huh…” Miguel chuckled. The name Bunker reminded him of the super name that he picked out; the more time passed, the more convinced he was that it was the right one.
Pamela gave a confused look at his expression and shrugged it off. Turning to her right, she saw the silent Emily Sung staring off into the distance. Unlike Barragan, Emily had other matters on her mind. Whatever she sensed or saw back at SCYTHE HQ freaked her out, like seeing something she shouldn’t.
Just as Pamela was about to ask her how she was feeling, a knock on the large blast doors echoed around the base, loud enough for all to hear. Quickly, everyone felt tense, and the SCYTHE agents covered the door as Alexei signaled them to aim their weapons. After the news of the escaped convicts taking control of SCYTHE HQ and their equipment and weaponry, the agents knew that they were being haunted now by the convicts looking for revenge, so they were not taking any chances.
“Would you mind opening the door!” A familiar voice said behind the door, a voice Pamela recognized right away. “I have a bloody Amazon here, and I would like her off my fur!”
“Barbara?” Pamela realized.
“Minerva? As in the Cheetah?” Alexei asked, eyes narrowed with suspicion. “She could be working with them, with the White Magician.”
“She isn’t,” Pamela answered, glaring at the SCYTHE soldier for the accusation. “She would never ally with the psychos you had under lock and key.”
Alexei scoffed. “That woman got a cemetery filled with people who say otherwise, and she hurt the mother of someone I know.”
Before the two could argue, Miguel stood up and decided to take action. He extended his hand, forming a large arm construct from it, and grabbed the handle of the blast door. With one pull, he opened it wide. Barbara entered. Her feline form made some of the SCYTHE agents tense, and weapons were still trained on her.
“Quite the welcoming committee…” she noted in sarcasm. “Now, would you be dears and get this woman some help?” She adjusted the unconscious and bloody Artemis on her back. Her blood covered Barbara’s fur.
“Medic!” Alexei called for an agent nearby before turning to Miguel. “And you, don’t use your freaky powers until I order you to do so.”
“Sorry tin man, I don’t speak fascist,” Miguel responded with a smirk, and Alexei glared at him.
The medic quickly came to Barbara and guided her to a nearby makeshift hospital room, which had a bed and various equipment to help the SCYTHE wounded. Barbara went in haste, and gently, with the help of the medic, they placed the injured Amazon on the bed, her blood soaking the white sheets red.
“How the hell did you even find us?” Alexei asked as he and the others entered. “I made sure I covered all our steps.”
“You did,” Barbara noted, stepping back to let the medic check on Artemis. She turned to Alexei and pointed at her nose. “But one of you has a very special pheromone that I can smell for miles,” she said with a smile as she turned her gaze to Pamela. “Still with those rose scents around you.”
The redhead smiled. “Maybe it’s that mark you left on me.”
“More than you think, Pammy.”
“Christ…” the medic gasped, catching everyone’s attention. “How is she still alive? And how long has she been like this?” He asked, examining the injured Amazon.
Her armor was wholly wrecked, beyond repair. Her headpiece was half broken, and the gauntlets and braces on her arms and legs were dented and unusable. Her injuries were severe: open wounds, slash marks, and burn marks were all over her body, and judging from blows on her armor, she might have had a few broken bones as well.
“Didn’t bother to look at the time with some of the grunts that were sent after us,” Barbara answered, leaning on a nearby chair as fatigue finally set in for her. “But these Amazons are too stubborn to die, and I know that from experience…”
The number of times Barbara thought she had beaten Diana only for the Amazon to get back up and beat her back was many, and it frustrated the woman to no end, but now she couldn’t help but be in awe at the resilience of these warriors.
“Her Amazon gifts will heal her,” Barbara noted. “But I am not sure how long it will take…”
“I doubt it will take more than a few days at least…” the medic noted, bringing out some bandages and wrapping them around her arms. “She will need a miracle to even walk out of here on her own two feet.”
“Uhmm…” Everyone in the room turned to Emily Sung, who stood by the doorway. “I… I think I can help her heal faster.”
Barbara and the medic gave her an odd look. To better explain it, Emily brought her hands together, and a small flame began to form from her palm. However, they weren’t bright orange flames; they were blue flames, and they didn’t feel any heat from them.
“I developed this technique while training,” said Emily. “It's a fire spell that doesn’t burn, but it heals people. I first used it on Miguel when he hurt his hands, and it was instantaneous,” she explained, and Miguel showed his fully healed hand as if he was demonstrating it. “But this will be the first time I will heal someone with this severe of injuries…”
Pamela and Barbara looked at the blue flames with wide eyes. In Pamela’s case, she was told that Emily had powers, and from Miguel’s description, she had the power of all the elements. However, seeing it firsthand and feeling it from just that tiny flame made her sense there was power behind it, warmth, like the sun.
“Do it,” Barbara said, taking a step back. “At this point, if we need magic to get her back into the fight, we better get to it before we lose her for real.” She turned to the shocked medic. This was the first time he would ever see magic in play. “And you, guide her in whatever wounds need to be healed.”
The medic nodded. It was better than nothing. With his guidance and Miguel’s support by her side, Emily went to work to heal Wonder Woman, who was in a state of life and death if they didn’t work fast enough, all while Circe and her crew were out there terrorizing the city.
“What’s the news out there?” Alexei asked after the three left the infirmary room. “We are in the dark here, and I couldn’t radio in anyone with the pieces of junk we got. Not even my brother, who was trying to get as many agents as possible.”
“Brother?” Barbara asked before she realized who his brother was. Her expression became solemn. She remembered the Warhammer who stayed behind to slow Circe and her crew, giving Barbara a chance to escape with Artemis on her back. “The guy with the Hammer…”
Alexei furrowed his brows, noticing the change in her expression. “What happened to my brother?”
Barbara took a deep breath and began explaining everything that had happened: the White Magician’s true identity, her taking over SCYTHE HQ, her ultimatum to Wonder Girl, and finally, Anatoly Abromivici’s sacrifice to save them.

Somewhere in Gateway…
With the loss of SCYTHE and their headquarters, the surviving agents didn’t have the necessary support from the intel agents in the Black Room to fight off against the newly revived Red Centipedes, now grown more powerful with the help of the escaped convicts, more than happy to exact revenge.
With the bridges closed off, SCYTHE’s weakened state, and Wonder Woman being presumed dead, the city had been thrown into chaos. Streets filled with criminals and looters taking full advantage of what had happened, stealing anything from everyone across the island.
Red Centipedes roamed the streets with military trucks, taken from SCYTHE after their HQ had fallen to the White Magician’s control, making full use of their hardware to hunt down any surviving agent, delivering the message that they were the new peacekeepers of Gateway.
“Let me go!”
A woman, a worker from Taco Whiz, was being dragged from the streets by a group of RedCent grunts. Taken into a nearby corner, the RedCent dropped the worker on the dirty ground. Their eyes had terrible intentions behind them.
“Come on, man,” one RedCent grunt said from behind to his buddy. “We are supposed to find those SCYTHE fuckers, not mess around.”
“You’re serious?” The buddy looked at his friend like he was crazy. “We’ve been locked for months in SCYTHE’s cells; we can have a few minutes of fun.”
“Please! Don’t do this!” The woman screamed, tears falling from her eyes, afraid of what they would do to her. She tried to stand up and run away but was quickly pushed back down on the pavement.
The RedCent approached the woman, who crawled away from them in fear. “Come on, girl, I just need to release all this stress after being locked up for so long!” He proclaimed, giving the woman a leery look before turning to his buddy. “Hey man, I can share! Maybe we can get someone else from the street-”
The RedCent stopped speaking, catching his breath for a moment after he saw his buddy lying on the ground face first, knocked out cold. Looking up, his eyes widened in shock when he saw the person standing before him. “You’re… you were supposed to be dead?!”
Covered in heavy bandages and wrecked NIGHT armor, and carrying a mace in his hand and a pissed-off look on his face, Commander Hector Hall stood before the RedCent grunt like a dark spectre coming back to life. Kicking the knocked-out buddy aside, the Commander looked between the grunt and the terrified woman before he hardened his glare at the RedCent.
“Stay back!” The RedCent grunt aimed his weapon, hands shaking in fear. “I said stay the fuck back-”
In a moment, Hall moved at such a speed he looked like a blur, cutting the distance between the two. With one swing of his mace, he smacked him squarely on the head, sending him to the ground.
Hall turned to the woman he saved, who looked at him in horror. “Go… get to safety…”
Without another word, the woman ran toward the exit and into the streets, away from the alley. Now alone with the two RedCents, Hall grabbed the knocked-out buddy and woke him up, making the man see the bandaged-up Hall looking down at him with hateful eyes.
“You… I want you to send your boss a message…” Hall began, making him face the Commander. “Tell the White Magician, Circe, that I am declaring war on her and on anyone who stands by her side.” He turned and walked up to the other grunt, who was crawling away from the Commander in fear, grabbing his bleeding head. He begged for his life, but Hall ignored his pleas. “And this, this is for my men that you Centipedes have killed…”
He lifted his bloody mace and brought it down like a hammer on the begging Red Centipede as his buddy looked on in horror. He lifted it up once more to reveal the man’s head was crushed like a watermelon.
Commander Hector Hall was still alive, and as long as he was still breathing, SCYTHE would remain standing to fight against all threats against Gateway City.

Love that the thermostat choice should now be independent of the ptac body. Many mass market implementations, Google Nest, Ecobee, Honeywell, etc. . Y1, Y2, C, G, R.
Problem: We need to replace several old ptac units, from current vendors Ice-air, Island Aire, Ice-cap, etc Large condo building. But their thermostat choices seem to be a Habitat model, or mechanical 6 position switches?
Frustrated, can't find Ice-air's thermostat interface documentation. Ideal would be a thermostat installation manual.
Not planning to do this work ourselves. But we do not want to be stuck with a manufacturer with secret interfaces, and limited thermostat choices.
Given rapid pace of electronics, it is a safe prediction there will be new generations of thermostats. As customers, we should be able to upgrade. Docs on the interface helps guarantee we can do that in the future.
Can anyone provide link to Ice-Air thermostat interface documentation?
Suggestions for ptac alternatives that fit the Ice-Air sleeve? (provided they document their thermostats) We'll switch manufacturers!

Pokemon Crystal Chronicles and Pokemon Amber Adventures
The two games are recreations of Pokemon Crystal and Pokemon Yellow. However, they have a lot of new content. Players can design their character and choose whether they want to play Amber and start in Kanto or play Crystal and start in Johto.
Pokemon Crystal Chronicles
In Crystal, you start your journey in New Bark Town. You will then Meet Professor Elm who will give you the choice of the 3 starters. You can do the main story side quests later during the game to get the other 2 starters. After leaving New bark Town, you will see Lugia flying through the Sky, this Pokemon will become available at the end of the game. After achieving your 8 gym badges and traveling to Kanto, you’ll receive a pikachu from Professor Oak. You can also do side quests to obtain the 3 Kanto starters.
Pokemon Amber Adventures
In Amber, you start your journey in Kanto where professor Oak will give you a pikachu. You can later get all 3 starters from the main story side quests. After leaving pallet Town you will see Ho-oh flying through the Sky, this Pokemon will become available at the end of the game. After achieving your 8 gym badges and traveling to Johto, Professor Elm will let you choose a starter, and then you can do these side quests to get the other 2 Johto starters.
New Game Mechanics
Gym leader Faulkner has discovered a new Pokemon Type which is the Bird type.
Another important new installment is the fact that players cannot receive trades with pokemon levels higher than their badge. Each badge grants a 5 level increase. After obtaining all 16 badges and defeating the elite 4, you are given a Master trainer license and can trade level 100 Pokemon Rookie, Novice, Ace, Elite, Master 0: 0 5: 25 9: 45 13: 65 E.F.:100 1: 5 6: 30 10: 50 14: 70 2: 10 7: 35 11: 55 15: 75 3: 15 8: 40 12: 60 16: 80 4: 20
Instead of there being only one linear story route, players can choose which paths they want to take and which gym leaders they want to battle.
Players have an energy bar which dictates how fast they walk, their ability to run, surf, fly, and ride a bike. Energy can be replenished by buying food. Players also have the option to rest till morning in pokemon centers to regain energy. Players can increase their max energy capacity simply by walking and climbing etc to gain experience. And can take on side quests to enhance their energy levels.
12 minutes of play time in real life is an hour in the game, so 1 minute in real life becomes 5 minutes in the game. A full 24 hour cycle in the game is only about 5 hours in real life. Some buildings and stores won’t be open during certain hours. This includes Gyms.
All Gyms and main NPC characters have their pokemon level up every 6 hours in the game, and up to 3 times a day. The full game takes on average, 80 hours, which in the game can be anywhere between 35 and 50 days. However, each of these trainers have a set cap. So by the time you reach the elite four, they will very likely have reached their cap levels. This new feature gives the players options to rush through the game at an easier difficulty, or grind through it slowly and enjoy the experience of a traditional harder RPG.
New Story
The story takes place almost 20 years after the adventures of Red & Blue and Gold & Silver. Almost all the iconic characters from the old games are now much older.
After you play through your first region, Kanto or Johto, you are asked to try and battle the pokemon league. Once you get there, you experience team rocket who is there to steal pokemon. In this part of the game, you have to lose. And after losing you are rushed to a poke center in the next region and are told that you need to collect more badges before you are ready to battle the elite four again.
Gym Pokemon in your first region will Cap at level 45. Gym Pokemon in your Second Region will Cap at 75
After getting the 8 badges from the other region, you are then able to battle the elite four and champion.
The elite 4 highest lvl Pokémon Caps are: 1: 76 2: 78 3: 80 4: 82 Champion: 85
After becoming the champion, you are then asked by professor Oak and Elm to go and explore the orange islands, which offers the chance to catch Pokemon from other regions, including legendaries. With the orange Islands explorable, the total Pokemon count goes to 370.
The final end battle is a double Battle Against Ethan And Red. They each have 4 Pokemon ranging from level 87 to 95.

Welcome to the series of Changes to be Made to the Super Smash Bros. Playable Fighters. First, we are going with the playable fighters of the original game, Smash 64. Now this topic has been done before, though it'd to make my own version. Plus, while some did get some proper changes, the original 12 are still the biggest offenders when it comes to bad or outdated choices of Movesets, animations, aesthetics, etc. Here is a list of them.
Mario:

• Mario will now have his voice from Kevin Afghani instead of Charles Martinet due to the latter retiring from his acting career.
• He is now able to crawl.
• His Fire Mario & Wario Alts. return.
• He now has a water meter from Super Mario Sunshine, where by using the shield special button. the water meter refills after usage.
• Down-Tilt - Roll: Performs a forward Roll.
• Side-Smash - Hammer: Swings his hammer forward.
• Up-Smash - Super Jump Punch: Does a jumping uppercut in place that produces Star Coins or Metro Kingdom Special Coins on contact.
• Neutral-Aerial - Spin Jump: Spins himself around.
• Down-Aerial - Ground Pound: Butt Stomps downward, bouncing on & meteor spiking opponents.
• Neutral-Special: Name is changed to Firebrand.
• Side-Special - Cappy: Tosses Cappy forward like a boomerang and/or can jump on him like an extra platform.
• Up-Smash - Wing Cap: Spawns a Wing Cap & shoots up into the air before gliding.
• Down-Special: F.L.U.D.D remains here and functions the same though it can now damage opponents and can turn into nuzzle form while in the air and help mario into the air.
• Final-Smash: Name is changed to Ultra Fireball and functions like in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.
• Up-Taunt: Returns to his old one, where he briefly grows in size as if obtaining a Mushroom.
• Left Victory Pose: Jumps to the top of a flagpole, slides down it, then hops off and happily poses.

Donkey Kong:

• Donkey Kong will now have his voice from Takashi Nagasako instead of the stupid & bland realistic Gorilla Grunts.
• His white alt. has a blue tie to accurately represent Super Kong.
• Neutral-Special - Coconut Shooter: Takes out His Coconut Shooter, then fires a Coconut.
• Side-Special - Barrel Throw: Throws a barrel across the stage, which just like with the normal Barrel item, it can be picked up and thrown by other fighters.
• Up-Special - Barrel Cannon: Enters a barrel cannon and fires himself in the direction that is input.
• Up-Taunt: Still pounds his chest, but now hollers wildly while doing so.
• Idle Animation #2: He quickly sit downs and pull out a Nintendo Switch and play on it, based on an idle pose from the Retro Donkey Kong Country games
• Left Victory Pose: DK rapidly punches and kicks a Slot Machine Barrel from the Retro Donkey Kong Country games, breaking it and releasing a bunch of bananas; once he's done, he lands on the ground and smiles for the camera, while giving a thumbs-up
• Right Victory Pose: He still pounds his chest, but just like his new Up-Taunt, hollers wildly.

Link:

• Link will not just use the Master Sword, he will also use the Ancient Axe and Guardian Spear.
• Side-Smash - Spear Thrust: Performs a straight-forward stab with his Spear.
• Up-Smash - Vertical Spin: Jumps and Spin slashes upwards, which at 0% damage can shoot a sword beam.
• Down-Smash: Spins his axe around while charging, and then slams his axe onto the ground.
• Neutral-Aerial: Spins the Axe in a circle.
• Forward-Aerial: Thrusts the spear forwards.
• Grab - Magnesis: Picks up a Magnet, then Fires two whips to grab an opponent, which can be used as a tether recovery.
• Neutral-Special: More arrows than just wooden ones, which he can pull from the Menu.
• Fire Arrows: Deal fire damage.
• Ice Arrows: Freeze opponents when at high enough percentages.
• Thunder Arrows: Make a bolt of lightning strike the opponent hit, dealing electric damage.
• Bomb Arrows: Explode on contact.
• Light Arrows: Goes through opponents when fully charged.
• Ancient Arrows: Creates a massive blue explosion of energy.
• Up-Special - Sailcloth: Pulls out the Sailcloth, then goes in an updraft and afterwards goes straight down without changing direction.

Power Suit Samus:

• Her default outfit is now her Metroid Dread Varia Suit.
• Her green alt. is replaced by a blue and white skin, based on her default suit from Metroid Dread.
• Now moves slightly faster and has more air speed.
• She now has the option to switch between the Default & Ice Beam Energy Modes with the Shield Special Button.
• When using her Side Special, she only has 10 rockets at the beginning of the match, but they do reload when not in use or after getting KO'd.
• Jab - Cannon Kata: Starts with a straight punch, then thrusts her arm cannon forward for the second hit and fires a small energy blast.
• Up-Tilt - Melee Counter: Swings her arm cannon upward.
• Down-Tilt - Slide: Performs a forward sliding kick.
• Dash-Attack - Dash Melee: Swings her Arm Cannon upwards while running.
• Side-Smash - Diffusion Blast: Releases an area of effect blasts at Close-ranged.
• Up-Smash - Overhead Blast: Same as Side Smash Attack but upwards.
• Neutral-Aerial: Her old Up Special, Screw Attack, is moved here.
• Forward-Aerial - Spazer Beam: Fires a blast that splits into three lasers.
• Pummel - Grapple Voltage: Deals Electric Damage and heals herself somewhat.
• Back-Throw - Wave Beam: Swings the opponent behind herself & fires an energy blast in a sine curve at them.
• Neutral-Special: Also adds Ice Beam, where She fires Ice Beams, dealing ice damage & freezes opponents.
• Side-Special: Functions the same if tapped, though can now fire 5 or 10 missiles if held.
• Up-Special - Shinespark: Launches herself in any inputted direction as a gold shine emerges.
• Down-Special: Also adds Freeze Field, where she summons 3 spinning ice projectiles that block attacks, deal ice damage & freeze opponents.
• Final-Smash - Hyper Beam: Charges her arm cannon & fires a large beam of energy, which can be angled & can go through opponents & walls.

Yoshi:

• The Black Yoshi alt. returns.
• They can carry a max of 6 eggs they create with their Neutral Special.
• Grab: Functions the same though now also functions as a tether recovery and ledge clinger.
• Neutral-Special: Same changes as Grab, though, it can also now grab items and projectiles.
• Side-Special: Their old Up Special, Egg Throw, is moved here and now has reticle which is an angle for the eggs to be thrown in that direction.
• Up-Special - Wing Flutter: Small wings emerge from his back as he flaps into the air.
• Down-Special - Ground Pound: Function is the same, though the name is changed and it can now also bounce on & meteor spike opponents.

Kirby:

• Kirby's gimmick now consists of the Copy Abilities from the Kirby games rather than Copied Neutral Specials.
• Down-Tilt - Slide: Performs a forward Sliding Kick.
• Dash-Attack: Gets back his Brawl and Smash 4 Dash attack, Break Spin, and functions the same in said games.
• Side-Smash - Staff: Swings the Staff forward.
• Up-Smash - Yo-Yo: Spins the Yo-Yo upwards, then brings it back to him.
• Down-Smash - Bell: Performs a spin and then strikes on both sides of him with his bells, creating 2 damaging soundwaves.
• Neutral-Special: Functions the same though now can also spit opponents and items like a projectile.
• Side-Special - Circus Somersault: Does two short somersaults and backsaults back to where he started the attack.
• Up-Special - Hi-Jump: Jumps high into the air and turns left or right and can collide with opponents along the way.
• Down-Special: Same Move though it gets tweaks such as it can also now temporarily slide when kirby dashes.
• Final-Smash - Paint Out: Sprays blobs of paint all over, causing damage and knockback to opponents.

Fox:

• Final-Smash - Arwing: Says "It's go time", then hops aboard onto the Arwing, then goes into First-Person perspective, with the Arwing firing either Arwing Shots or Smart Bomb.

Pikachu:

• Pikachu mostly now has alternate colors, although its libre costume remains. Its alternate colors are Blue (Marill), Dark Orange (Raichu), Gray (Togedemaru), White (Pachirisu), Brown (Patrat) and Purple (Rattata).
• Up-Tilt - Thunder Punch: Punches with large fists of electricity upwards.
• Dash-Attack - Wild Charge: Shrouds itself in electricity and smashes into the opponent. This also damages it a little.
• Up-Smash - Iron Tail: Functions the same though the tail also becomes whitish-gray in color and hits a bit harder.
• Neutral-Aerial - Discharge: Strikes opponents by letting loose some electricity.
• Neutral-Special - Electro Ball: Still shoots a ball of electricity after being created from its cheeks, though it can be fired forwards and can no longer stick on stages or platforms.
• Side-Special - Zippy Zap: Charges up electricity as it's surrounded by electricity after charge. If charged, it goes farther faster dash forwards. If Uncharged however, it makes a quick short dash forwards.
• Final-Smash - Volt Tackle: Electrifies its entire body and blast forwards like a super-charged projectile and If it manages to hit an opponent, a large electrical explosion comes upon impact, launching nearby fighters, also dealing electric damage.

Luigi:

• Like Mario, Luigi will now have his voice from Kevin Afghani instead of Charles Martinet due to the latter retiring from his acting career.
• Luigi is now able to wall jump.
• Luigi has a meter each of the Elemental Medals, where by picking a certain element, he uses that element though can be refilled by using the shield special button.
• Side-Smash - Hammer: Swings his hammer forward.
• Down-Smash - Burst: A burst of wind propels him upward, startling him as a wind circle emerges around himself.
• Neutral-Aerial - Spin Jump: Spins himself around.
• Down-Aerial - Ground Pound: Butt Stomps downward, bouncing on & meteor spiking opponents.
• Neutral-Special - Thunderhand: Fires an electricity ball from his right hand, dealing electric damage.
• Side-Special - Spin Tornado: Winds Up and Spins Forward, generating a tornado that covers him completely then dealing multiple Hits toward opponents in the way before launching them.
• Down-Special - Elemental Medals: Picks one of the Element Medals and uses one of them from a Menu.
• Fire: Deals fire damage.
• Ice: Deals ice damage & freezes opponents.
• Water: Deals water damage.

Ness:

• When using his Baseball Bat while fully charging it in his side smash, the SMAAAASH!!!! text box appears.
• Down-Smash - Paralysis: Deals stun damage with his PSI.
• Neutral-Special - Slingshot: Pulls out the Slingshot, then fires a projectile, which can be aimed forwards, upwards or downwards.
• Side-Special: His old Neutral Special, PK Flash, is moved here and now fires it forward.
• Down-Special - Lifeup: Heals damage taken with his PSI.
• Final-Smash - PSI Rockin Ω: Fires a PSI burst forward & creates several psychic fireworks on any caught opponents before releasing a larger burst.

Captain Falcon:

• Neutral-Special - Pistol: Pulls out a Pistol, then shoots energy out of it, dealing electric damage.

Jigglypuff:

• Jigglypuff will now have alternate colors instead of Headwear. Its alternate colors include Black (Gastly), Purple (Koffing), Blue (Marill), Beige (Rowlet), Green (Solosis), Light Yellow (Togepi) and Brown (Hoothoot).
• Jab - Double Slap: Performs two alternating slaps forward, which can be used five times.
• Side-Tilt - Uproar: Causes an Uproar, making sound waves come out of its mouth at the opponent.
• Up-Tilt - Mega Punch: Performs an upward strong punch with its right hand.
• Down-Tilt - Round: Takes a quick breath, then fires a high-pitched blast of sound from her mouth.
• Side-Smash - Zen Headbutt: Headbutts opponents with psychic willpower.
• Up-Smash - Drain Punch: Punches with its fists upwards, then drains their health, healing itself.
• Down-Smash - Frustration: Slams its hands onto the ground in anger.
• Neutral-Aerial - Gyro Ball: Gets surrounded by a metallic aura, then spins rapidly and slams the opponent.
• Forward-Aerial - Brick Break: Performs a forward swing chop.
• Back-Aerial - Mega Kick: Performs a strong swing kick with its right foot.
• Up-Aerial - Icy Wind: Releases a wind of Ice from its mouth upwards, dealing ice damage and freezing opponents.
• Down-Aerial - Body Slam: Falls downward towards the opponent, meteor spiking them.
• Pummel: Its old Side Special, Pound, is moved here and now it just punches the opponent.
• Forward Throw - Focus Punch: Briefly lets go of the opponent to punch them with a high amount of force, launching them away from it.
• Back-Throw - Fling: Picks up the opponent, then throws them backwards.
• Up-Throw - Psychic: Picks the opponent up with its psychic power, then launches them up.
• Down-Throw: Its old Neutral Special, Rollout, is moved here and now turns into a boulder, then pins the opponent down and rolls on the their back.
• Neutral-Special - Disarming Voice: Lets out a Charm Cry that does emotional damage to the opponent.
• Side-Special - Dazzling Gleam: Emits a Powerful Flash.
• Up-Special - Bounce: Jumps into the air, then lands back on the opponents or stages, bouncing on the opponent and/or stage, which when landing and bouncing on the opponent, it can use other attacks, but when landing on the stage instead of opponent it can't directly attack again.
• Down-Special: Its old Up Special, Sing, is moved here.
• Final-Smash - Hyper Voice: Inhales a bunch of air, inflating her balloon-like body a bit, before letting out a loud attack that uses sound waves & blasts opponents backwards quite a distance.
• Side-Taunt: The animation remains exactly the same, but sparkly energy now surrounds her body.
• Up Victory Pose: Jigglypuff twirls around like a ballerina as sparkly energy surrounds her body, before hopping on one leg and posing for the camera.

And, there you go. This took a little while, though i hope to hear your feelings about these changes (as long as your reasons for your feelings are good). Any changes that you want to see to the original 12 that i didn't mention and did i misplace some moves? or did i add a change that was unnecessary? It'd be cool to see what other people can come up with.

HELLO!
I'm currently on a 8GB capped $40 endless data plan with Skinny. It runs on endless reduced speeds after using up 8GB of max speeds. The reduced speeds for me are around 1.3MB download which doesn't support very much beyond web searching. I can't really watch videos on youtube, stream movies, or scroll through social media once I'm on reduced speeds because any video content takes ages to buffer. I can buy data binge packs for max speeds again if I know I'm going to need it but it doesn't support hotspotting and only lasts 12 hours max for $5. Not sure if thats entirely worth paying seeing as I'd probably need to use max speeds everyday. I ripped through the 8GB in about a week and that was without gaming for the first 4 days? I've had my hotspot on during the night this week because my parents have a new curfew on our broadband at about 10pm, not much I can do about that lol.
I realized 8GB isn't enough to last me a months worth of usage and was thinking about changing to another service provider that had unlimited uncapped data plans instead. Skinny's most expensive endless data plan still has a cap on it with $70/m for max speeds up to 80GB. Then it will reduce back to 1.3MB~ download. I'm not sure if thats enough to last me a month with extensive use like gaming and watching movies, I don't use data often so I actually have zero understanding of how much value you can get out of 80GB. Is that a lot? Would I need more? I don't know...
I'm almost looking for an unlimited uncapped data plan that gives out the same value as a broadband plan, not sure if thats silly. I paid for my family's fibre broadband at our old house for 2 years which was between $80-70/m switching between the two fastest plans skinny offered, so I can afford a more expensive data pack, I just need it to last as long as the month I'm paying for lol. I don't need huge download speeds like fibre broadband can provide. I can play online games smoothly with the max speeds skinny provides, I think I get like max 14MB on my phone, same on my laptop, and then 5MB on my playstation when hotspotting. I'm not worried about getting more than those speeds.
You might suggest I just get a separate broadband plan in the house, but we've moved to a rural area and our house isn't offered the same broadband plans as our old one. We don't have fibre or wireless broadband available in our area, just plain adsl/vdsl which didn't even work when we tried installing our modem (don't know why), so my parents and all my siblings pitch in for starlink now. It's just my parents choice to turn it off during the night and they say if we want we can buy our own data to use during the night.
Anyway, I've been looking at some other providers like Spark and One NZ that offer unlimited uncapped data plans. My main question is does anybody have any reviews on either of the plans these providers have? Whats it like for you if you use them? Is it worth it for you and why? I've read a couple reviews on One NZ's service that are reeeeally bad with people complaining about how fast they rip through their data plans and are reduced to super slow speeds within minutes of using their data, which is very suspicous. So I'm reluctant about switching to them. There aren't any specific reviews on either of the providers' UNcapped plans though, reviews I've seen are on capped plans only so I'm reaching out on this in hopes to find someone who already uses any of the plans im looking at and get their review and maybe advice.

And those are the options I've gravitated towards. Skinny, Spark and One NZ (used to be vodafone I think). It sounds like One NZ is the best price for uncapped data but again I'm suspicious from all the negative reviews about One NZ especially about customers not getting what they paid for. Even NZ herald and Stuff has made articles about them being the worst rated mobile service provider. Only way I can get over the suspicion is hearing from other people here and reddit is pretty honest and helpful when it comes to niche problems.
If anybody has experience with either of these providers and especially with the data plans listed, please let me know what its like for you so I can make an informed decision on what I should buy. Maybe you know of other plans that might be better, or are someone who has similar data usage (excessive gaming and streaming) and has worked out the best data plan for that kind of consumption.

Nightmare of a customer came through the shop today. Out of state, obviously worried about being swindled, refused to let any work be done out of her sight. Came in at about 10:30 for 4 tires, chose a discontinued style that we didn't have in her size anyway, was offered the updated style in the same brand that is the same price point. Said she'd shop around, came back an hour later and agreed to the 4 we had, appointment set for 3pm as it was by this time only a few minutes before the shop closed for lunch and we had other tickets scheduled for the afternoon. She sits in the parking lot the whole time. 1 ticket canceled at 2 so the manager walks out and let's her know that we can get her in early. And at this point the insanity begins. We, as a policy, use footmats and seat protectors to keep clean. She demands we triple layer them, and clean our shoes, but that also she will drive the vehicle up to the bay, she will only allow us to drive the last car length. Also we are not to touch anything other than the steering wheel, gear shift, and keys, she will be watching us from in the parking lot the whole time. She will open the trunk, and hold up the carpet so you can crank down the spare too (4 new use best for new spare, best had 0/32nds.) It only gets worse however as you need to use new gloves to work on the tires, also she wants to keep the old valve stem, core, and cap; and why did you replace those without asking (store policy, no charge) and what pressure are they at, and why 30 doesn't the sidewall have something to say, don't open my door without asking, why does the sticker not match the sidewall that doesn't make sense. Get to balancing and a new level of insane begins where she tries to demand I reuse the old wheel weights, and it doesn't make sense that the new tires wouldn't balance the same as the old. Have to try and explain that stick-on weights are not reusable, and that a new multi-mile matrix RS2 tire has no reason to weigh the same as a Michelin defender made 5 years ago. Finally get that explained but she still insists I reuse the hammer on weights for the inside edge. At this point I'm an hour and a half into this nonsense and over it so I oblige her insanity and do my best, somehow it worked. Get all her tires put back on the car. Get the spare put back under, somehow? managed to talk her into letting me use new valve cores. And let her drive away around front to pay. I step away to take care of another customer who has been waiting almost an hour at this point for a task only im certified to do. About 6 minutes into that my coworker shows up and informs me she has changed her mind and wants her old tires reinstalled, because we are a bunch of lying cheating criminals taking advantage of her, she didn't want to buy the RS2s she wanted the discontinued tires we don't have, and that we told her as such at 1030 in the morning. So cue it all beginning again. Somehow at the crack of quitting time I managed to have her out of the shop, and hopefully out of my life with a blown out spare tire, two fronts with cords showing across the outer half of the tire, and rears at 0/32nds. But the customers right, and all the workers upset. So if one of you poor souls in central illinois winds up with a turn of the century toyota rav 4 with blown tires, washington plates, and that smells like rancid lettuce, be ye warned, turn it away.

Was talking to a coworker of mine today that I went to high school with. We're both 25 for reference, she's a girl and I'm a guy.
It all started when she for whatever reason brought up Tate McRae and complained about how many guys online call her hot. "She's only 20, that's sort of a baby" is what I she said. I’ve looked at several interesting non-english patents in the past, and stumbled over an interesting looking one today too. It is for how to do attach a handle to your shaving apparatus. Or to put it in a different way; a handle attachment to your razor.
Patented by Paul Druseidt, the invention gives a razor that both pack flat and is easy to assemble. It consists of a normal-ish razor head and a U-shaped handle made from spring steel. The handle is ever so slightly smaller than the head of the razor and can nestle inside it.

The key is the shape of the recesses or hole on the underside of the razor. The keyhole, if you will. As can be seen from the drawing, it was longer one way than the other, and had arches or troughs on either side.
The U-shaped handle was, as mentioned, springy. You would insert it along the long axis of the hole, then twist it 90°. The arches on either side would stop it from slipping back, and the tension of the spring steel would hold it in place. After shaving the handle could be twisted back, removed, and placed against the inside of the razor head

I though initially that a top cap could have been fastened by the pair of hook shaped projections on the bottom plate. I also though that these projections also would have acted as blade guides for a normal Gillette three hole blade.
Further research showed me that maybe was no top cap, and the hooks just held on to a proprietary blade. The first hint came in Waits’ Razor Compendium. Waits’ Compendium do mention a Druseidt razor – along with the similar Impero and Ratio razor. And in the description of the later, Waits states that “the special thick double-edged blade has two square holes and two centre oval dimples”.
Waits’ Compendium also mentions that “later versions has two pieces”, by which he seems to mean that at least the late production Ratio was made with a top cap. This in turn matches with pictures I found in a thread over on Shaving Universe, which clearly shows a top cap.
A top cap, I might add, that looks very much like Waits’ description of a “special thick double edged blade”…
Was Waits just confusing a poor quality picture of a top cap for a proprietary blade? Quite possible. It could simply be that a lot of the Druseidt, Impero, and Ratio razors that have survived have lost their top caps over the years.
Interestingly all three of the razors mentioned also have u-shaped handles. But none of the three has the handle attachment method described in the patent. Instead they uses a swinging out handle, which still relies on spring pressure to lock in place.
Overall the Druseidt patent looks like it would make an interesting razor, possible more interesting than the Druseidt razors that were actually manufactured.

my main problem with revenant is not he himself but rather how i feel he's pushing the power creep of the game. As level cap is for the first time in the games' history becoming more realistic to see, it raises the bar of what is asked of a frame further and further as the meta is often judged around the strongest content. What i'm afraid of is that unless you're either A: a warframe that kills everything before they can even try deal damage, or B: You are revenant and have mesmer skin or something similar, Content is going to just be completely gatekept from a larger and larger margin of frames.
For example, as levels increase, a lot of survivability tools become harder and harder to maintain, less effective, until they fall off entirely. example: Health tanking just doesn't work at all past a point and there's not a damn thing you can do about it; nidus/kullervo/inaros have tools to mitigate that will even still become unmanageable as they just get oneshot the moment HP is touched, Nidus can't keep stacks up forever, Kullervo's overshield gets obliterated too fast to the point that he has to spam cast it, and Inaros can only cheat death with his augment/passive so much before it's unmanageable. Furthermore I think it's really fucked that after a certain point the only thing in your healthbar that matters is the shieldgate (which by the way NEEDS an indicator for when it's active PLEASE).
It feels like we're becoming more and more like old bosses were. Full of invincibility to pad for the fact that stats don't matter (see: sargas ruk, lech kril, vor, vay hek, kela de thaym...) It's really gross that even with FULL defensive investment on a defensive warframe, they can't (On stats alone) go to the level cap (that's becoming more and more realistic to see) without serious help. When I started playing in 2018, the level cap was literally a myth that required a day or more of survival, and now it's no more than two hours in void flood for cap, or even just a good few rounds in SP circuit to see crazy 4 digit levels. *HOWEVER SP circuit has decrees which greatly alleviate a lot of these problems
I think warframes need their own version of damage attenuation (as a mod or something inherent, maybe a shard effect?) IF and ONLY IF the content ceiling gets pushed notably higher than EDA. This is not happening NOW but it COULD. I think at the least, we need another layer of mods like rolling guard and adaptation, things that are generic, that any frame can use.
TLDR; the higher levels get, the less HP/armoshields matter. and the design decisions to fix this are going in the wrong direction by slapping damage gates and invuln everywhere that further leave warframes that don't have those tools in the dirt

I'm looking at upgrading my PC and after talking with my coworker and my bestfriend, I put a list to gether on PC Partpicker. My old build is a 1060, amd 5 processor, 16GB ram. I wanted something more powerful.
I've been playing Hell Divers and want to keep with other games as such going forward. Also making up for the poor future proofing of my current memory. I was told a 3070 ti would work really well but my 1060 has never done me wrong either. Price wise I'd like to keep it under $1500 (I know what I have picked is a bit more than that. I recently got a raise so going a bit over won't hurt)

Nevertheless, after dozens of volatility halts GameStop closed the day up 62% while AMC jumped by 30%.‌ Amid some gentle coaxing by Keith Gill (aka Roaring Kitty), a slew of names familiar to Reddit boards followed — companies like Koss, Tupperware, Virgin Galactic, Hertz, and BlackBerry. ‌ But while the explosion in volatility rightfully invites comparisons to the well-known 2021 saga that played out on Reddit and across US stock exchanges, 2024 is already proving to be quite different. ‌ This year, Wall Street is driving the bus. ‌
Vanda Research crunched the numbers and reported in a note to clients that GameStop and AMC have only seen a fraction of the inflows experienced in early 2021. I found a very frail black & white cat in the alleyway behind my old apartment building while doing laundry. I noticed there were bowls with cat food and water so someone had been caring for him. I was on the phone with my sister who told me to leave him alone he probably has something. I have never in the almost 4 years I lived there seen a stray animal. It kept meowing nonstop so I immediately picked it up and noticed it’s hair looked and felt like it was shaved down but he also didn’t look to be a long haired cat to me because of his facial hair. It was trying to scratch me only when cars drove by, but it didnt have normal nails. They weren’t caps and he wasn’t declawed, they may have been overgrown in a perfect circle is the only thing I can think of, I’ve never seen a cats nails like that. He had a oddly big nose and nostrils also, the whole situation became as strange as he looked. I immediately called animal control while walking to the front of the building which only needs code and I put the cat down to unlock my door with the key since I was on the phone & also was holding the detergent/ softener that was beginning to slip. Before I even turned the knob to open the door I noticed the cat was gone. I sucked my teeth and went upstairs to follow him while still on the phone. He was no where to be found. There’s two doors to get outside there’s no way he could have escaped even if someone did walk in or out. Also I would have heard the door and him run. I lived on a main street in the city so I didn’t want him to run in the street so I ran outside and in then in the alley way, nothing. I checked in the hallway over and over again. I questioned if it was all even real. I checked the bowls and they were still there and then the next day they were gone. It’s been months and it still bothers me how he looked and how he suddenly disappeared
