Hey all! Just wanted to inform the community in regards to the CCW process for riverside county following SB2. Process is very simple thus far. SB2 paused a ton of licenses across the board mainly for certified firearms instructors, hence the delays. i am now getting wind of multiple licenses for these intrsuctors are barely now getting issued by the state. i know of a few friends that have been searching for an initial CCW course for 8 months now. After finally being able to take the course, paid about 170 bucks as well as the CCW application price on the county website. Process all together is about 300 buckaroos.
First and foremost moving forward make sure to fill out your application FIRST on the county website. Try to have everything completed PRIOR TO your initial interview with a private investigator. This will streamline the entire process. Of the documents requested, some are proof of residency, driver license, birth certificate, etc. Scan and submit all your documents to the online portal. Once completed with your online application you will be given a order tracking number. Use this number to access the application tracker as well as setting up an appointment at your nearest sheriff station. A list of sheriff offices is on the CCW portal. you HAVE TO contact the ccw unit at your desired location via phone to schedule a live scan appointment. You will need a cashier check or money order to the amount of 10 dollars, no exceptions. Online you can find a list of offices that work best for you within the county.
I submitted my application and attended a 16 hour course. 8 hours was a CCW course and the second part of that class was a defensive handgun course. Span of 16 hours was two total days from 0800-1700. Qualifications, if i remember correctly, are as follows. 6 shots at 7 yards, 6 shots at 15 yards and 6 shots at 30 yards. All hits have to be within the silhouette of the target. If you miss a single shot, you will need to requalify with whichever firearm you failed. The target is pretty big. i qualified with a micro compact 9mm and a full size 1911.
The livescan, for anyone that hasn't done one, is a very tedious process involving your fingerprints. prior to your livescan DO NOT use any hand sanitizer or any scented lotions as it may alter the imaging when rolling your fingers on their machines. Make sure to also have that 10 dollar cashier check. For whatever reason no card, cash or personal checks can be used. following your livescan should come the interview, this process is dependent on availability from the sheriffs office. you can wait anywhere from up to 4-8 months or 2 weeks depending on the status of the CCW units. from there you get assigned a background investigator. Be sure to be honest in all questions asked. Dont forget that youre being investigated by an entity that knows EVERY legal aspect of your life. If you work in any public safety sector (Fire, EMS) be sure to notify them. An explanation of "Self-Defense" will suffice.
From that point forward it is all a waiting game. licenses ive heard come in as early as that same week and ive also heard stories of some people having to wait for a few months. You can always contact the CCW unit however keep in mind theyre busy processing renewal applications and new CCW applications.

The Tableau workbook is good for looking at individual routes at a glance and the report gives some interesting overall statistics, but only the .csv data they provide gives you the ability to compare bus routes in depth. Really notable here are some of the Surrey routes: 322, 373, 340, 345, 312, 316, 335, 321, 323 each added hundreds of thousands of boardings, despite in many cases still having crappy frequency and span of service. The 335 and 323 added over a million boardings each. The TSPR report does state that the Southeast region had the highest ridership growth (29%) but the individual route stats show how mindboggling that growth really is. Compare these routes to some of the biggest workhorses in Vancouver (e.g. 20, 8, 3, R5) which are growing in ridership the least quickly:

It's no surprise that Vancouver service hours are being re-allocated to Surrey and that the Southeast region is the focus of the new 2024 investment plan.
The TSPR cites population growth as a reason for increased ridership in the Southeast region. According to B.C. population estimates Surrey grew by just under 25,000 people, Langley City and Township grew by about 7,000 people, and Delta added just over 2,000. When you have millions of new trips in Surrey alone, it's of course hard to believe that these ~34k people (or even the ~88k additional people in Metro Vancouver overall) were the sole reason for the stats we're seeing.

Surrey is clearly the worst for overcrowding, but it's also worth noting that after some significant service cuts on the 99 over the past few years, overcrowding seems to be creeping back up to the level we all associate with that route. ;)
It will be interesting to see how much lower overcrowding is in next year's data for the 25 (now using 60 foot buses) and on the R6 which was implemented this January (as compared to the 319).

Hi everyone, I'm having some trouble starting my 2017 gti 6mt with 74k miles after letting it sit over a new england winter for a couple of months. Car does have a tune.
Let me preface by saying that I replaced the battery last month and it was driving fine. Trying to start it up one day and it wouldn't click it all, and it turns out it was a faulty starter. I replaced the starter and she was driving well for a week.
One day as I was accelerating to highway speed, the rpms dropped and a red steering wheel light with an exclamation mark came on. I believe this is for power steering?
I managed to get a mile or two away from home and the car died again. At that time I tested the battery with a multimeter and it was around 9v, so I figured the alternator wasn't charging the battery so I had it towed home.
Alternator has been replaced, and battery charged up to 12.4v. I attempt to start, and no clicks. Interior lights will not turn on, dashboard lights are dim, windows will not roll down and brake lights do not function. Does anyone have an idea of what the culprit might be? Any pointers will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Hi everyone,
Proud to be a part of this community. I'm having some trouble starting my 2017 gti with 74k miles after letting it sit over a new england winter for a couple of months. Car does have a tune.
Let me preface by saying that I replaced the battery last month and it was driving fine. Trying to start it up one day and it wouldn't click it all, and it turns out it was a faulty starter. I replaced the starter and she was driving well for a week.
One day as I was accelerating to highway speed, the rpms dropped and a red steering wheel light with an exclamation mark came on. I believe this is for power steering?
I managed to get a mile or two away from home and the car died again. At that time I tested the battery with a multimeter and it was around 9v, so I figured the alternator wasn't charging the battery so I had it towed home.
Alternator has been replaced, and battery charged up to 12.4v. I attempt to start, and no clicks. Interior lights will not turn on, dashboard lights are dim, windows will not roll down and brake lights do not function. Does anyone have an idea of what the culprit might be? Any pointers will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Starfield’s latest update is here and it’s bringing several new features with it!

• Improved surface maps - We’ve heard your feedback, and we’ve made some big improvements to surface maps, so you’ll always know just where to go and no longer “get lost” on the way to your parents’ place (and they weren’t buying that excuse anyway, you should really go visit them).
• New gameplay options - For those of you who like a bit of an extra challenge or want to make some aspects of the game easier, you can customize your experience with brand new options in the Settings menu. Want to make ground combat harder but ship combat easier? You can do just that!
• Added Ship Decoration mode to the interior of Ships – now you can decorate your ships just like you can with Outposts!
• Added Tabs to Container menus to make managing your inventory easier.
• Added the ability to change Traits and appearance after entering the Unity.
• Added Dialogue camera toggle in the Settings.
• Added Display settings for Xbox Series X to prioritize Visuals or Performance (Series X).

XBOX SERIES X DISPLAY SETTINGS
We’ve heard from many that you’d like to have more control over the graphic fidelity and performance on Xbox, similar to how PC players can customize their experience. We’re now enabling that on Xbox Series X with a few options that you can use to find the best fit for your playstyle and display.For each of these, we highly recommend a Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) Display running at 120hz, and to verify your Xbox is setup to use it. If you have it setup this way, Starfield will now default to a frame rate target of 40, while keeping the priority for full visuals.

• Frame Rate Target: You can now choose between 30, 40, 60 or an Uncapped frame rate on VRR displays. If you do not have a VRR display running 120hz, you will still be able to select from 30 or 60. Screen tearing may occur at times when selecting 60 on a non-VRR display.
• Prioritize: You can now prioritize between Visuals and Performance while trying to maintain the frame rate target. If you’re choosing a frame rate target of 60 or above, we recommend changing this to Performance. Prioritizing Visuals keeps the highest resolution while maintaining full detail for special effects, lighting, and crowds. Prioritizing Performance lowers internal resolution and detail for special effects, lighting, and crowds. Both modes may adjust internal resolution dynamically when scenes or action get heavier as well. When switching between modes, you will see the lighting change briefly as the system catches up to the new mode.

So these are the results. I took out the encampment and Yiyang no problem, nor losses, captured the settler, but didn't get fortunate with the EW hits in the maneuver itself.
However, I'm now out to the plains, and staying behind that green line with my ranged units, I can soften up incoming Chinese units and in those four lined tiles can hit out with the EWs without being exposed to ranged shots from Xi'an and Chengdu.
And since I'm not after their crappy cities but the captives (already got two), I'm just going to stay in war and hunt them down on that line.
EW builders will keep coming, time to set up a similar trap for the Aussies now in the West.

Good morning everyone, it is that time again to finally upgrade some equipment. I am looking for a new handheld, and I can't seem to find what I am looking for, so hopefully the community can help me. I have been traveling more and I always take an ht with me, but my current radio (uv9r) has been acting up. I want to upgrade to something nicer but I have a few requirements I'm looking for.
I am looking for a dual band 2m/440 handheld that has channel banks/zones, is keypad programmable, and is preferably water resistant.
My reasoning for this is I would like to have separate banks to scan for different uses. I'd like to have my local repeaters in one bank, local emergency services to listen to in another, and a bank dedicated to repeaters in the area I'm traveling to. My uv9r worked well to start with, but it has some software glitches now that are becoming a problem.
Dmr would be interesting to get into as it seems most radios in that category are digital, but it is not a requirement. Most I have seen that fit this are btech or radioddity, but I have read some pretty bad reviews on them. I have looked into some icom handhelds but they seem to require programming software. I have read about yeasu hts having banks but I can't seem to find out if they work in the manner I am looking for.
For example, at my day job I run an apx7000 and I would like an interface like that: zone 1 - channels 1-16, zone 2 - etc.
