A nearby friend offered me a denon AVC-x3700H for €500 to replace my Sony STR-DH790. This interest me a lot because I intent to do a 5.2.4 setup in my little movie room and the Sony could only do 5.2.2. But in addition I also learned that if I buy a smaller amp I can even make a 7.2.4 in the future ! I wonder if anyone in this sub has the x1700h and has had had a good experience with it ... How's the app is there a way to play Qobuzz? How's the interface ? Am I futuro proofing little bit? lintend to connect to it a Xbox series x, Xbox 360 a Dreamcast with HDMI, a PS3 and maybe my desktop PC. I understand it only has one 8k port but at the moment I don't see myself needing anything that isn't the Xbox series X. My tv doesn't even have eARC (75UJ675V 75" LG ULTRA HD 4K TV) Is there some flaw or revision or something to push me away from this model! ? I almost end up buying a Yamaha RX-V6A but after all those terror stories I pulled away

Yesterday I came across a sweet deal on Marketplace so I had to go and check it out, it was the Asus ROG Strix GA35 (G35DX). The system had a 3080, ryzen 7 5800x, and 32gb of ram, when I got there and tested it out and bench marked it, everything went well - the gpu was working and read in the bios and benchmark, cpu temps were low, and it booted nicely, (atp I still couldn’t understand the low price of $600 cad), being a none tech savvy guy I thought it was enough to “legitimize” the deal and I paid the man who was selling it due to moving overseas.
The price felt way too good to be true, and as of now the pc has completely stopped working - I slowly thing I got screwed 😭
When I go to power it on, I get a bios screen and I am not smart enough to figure out the issue, it started acting up during my play session in Valorant, the graphics were still 500+ on high, however I noticed a yellow tint and discolouration, so I reset the driver and rolled it back for the display port and then this reset it…
And now this is what it shows when I power it on: (Any help would be greatly appreciated, all I downloaded was valorant, forza horizon 4, some of my steam games, a ps3 emulator, and Spotify 😭)

So I just picked up a complete in box ps pro keyboard today, and when I went to try it on my ps3, it goes immediately into midi mode and won't go into syncing. I've tried cleaning the midi port, reseating batteries, and checking to make sure it's the right dongle. I've used a midi cable on it just fine, but it just won't go into dongle mode. Any ideas?

2024.05.17 05:51 Phil_Matic Finally was able to get a Dreamcast setup going with a PC CRT Monitor, and it looks phenomenal

The Dreamcast on a CRT monitor makes the games look the same if not better imo than HD ports to the Xbox 360 / PS3 on an LCD monitor. This was definitely the best way to enjoy the dreamcast, I'm just a little baffled by why this type of setup wasn't used as often.
Secondly, this has me wondering, other than the Dreamcast and the Xbox 360, what games were designed to be used with a CRT PC monitor as well? I want to see what games I can use with my monitor as well!

2024.05.17 05:00 Natural_Row3263 The "start" button on my "driving force" is broken and goes off randomly

I was watching one of Dr K's videos about drive/calling/motivation and I came up with an analogy of my constant life struggle, I wonder if others can relate. I am lucky to work in a job that I love, and many of the things that I have in my todo list, I actually enjoy doing. BUT: I can't get started on things on command. For some reason my drive is only activated by external forces. It can be a deadline at work, it can be something that I watch on Youtube that motivates me to organize my messy space, it can be a podcast... then I start. And wow. I can spend hours and hours on the task. For example, I've missed a concert that I had tickets for (and I was really looking forward to), because I was "in the flow" doing taxes (yes, the same task that I had been procrastinating for weeks... :facepalm:). If only I could control the 5 minutest that it takes to start... Instead, I am left at the mercy of randomness, and sometimes I think I watch random Youtube videos in the hope that something motivates me to start actual work/chores/tasks. If I could just have someone control my brain "Avatar style" for a few scattered minutes a day... But here I am, wasting my life watching Netflix or procrastinating, until something triggers my motivation and then I get in the flow and everything gets done (on that specific task, neglecting others). I could have accomplished soooo much if I was hable to harness the power of my focus.
Ok so about those 5 minutes: It should take the same energy to open a Chrome window with Netflix than one with the work that I need to do, right? But this todo list is not in my brain, it's in my calendaemail/notes... I have my calendar constantly customized with perfect plans. I have designed a million different morning/night routines. Alarms, todo lists... every organization method I have ever seen, I've tried. I just can't get anything done WHEN I want it to be done. As long as is written/typed by me, I just avoid it. I can even imagine my brain's "disgust face" when my eyes go to the calendar line where the task is scheduled. As if my brain didn't even want to think about doing it, and went to other numbing/dopaminergic activities to avoid doing the task. As an experiment, I wrote in my calendar, as a task, "watch a movie" (something that I enjoy)... I can't! I keep on reschedule it lol. Why this self-sabotage? how do I keep connected the flow between 1) looking at my calendar 2) read the task 3) think about what needs to be done to accomplish the task 4) get the task done. I can't move from 2 to 3. But if somehow something random happens that leds me to 3, I don't have any problem. I even enjoy.
PD1: I know, I know... meditation. But when I schedule meditation on my calendar I just avoid it lol! PD2: I know the obvious conclusion is ADHD and hyperfocus. I've tried stimulants but for me it's been a hit or miss. Some days it works amazing, some days I'm just paralyzed and overwhelmed (even with the same dose). So I would like to try to find another way. PS3: The "stop" button is also faulty (scrolling Youtube shorts unable to go to bed) but first things first.

Just like MK made a name for itself and differentiated itself from Street Fighter, DreadOut series has plenty of qualities and style that sets it apart from the Fatal Frame series!
ya know, Sony should giving Siren series more support, like Siren 2 has yet to be ported to Playstation consoles after PS2 and its the best one of that series. Perhaps a DreadOut 3 from DH would happen before Sony ports Siren 2 at this rate. Siren 2 already has english version but think it was only released in EU back then. Japan Studio is gone but Sony can easily port Siren 2 like they have the first game on PS3 and PS4 and PS5.
DreadOut series been getting a lot of support and getting upcoming spinoffs, and side projects. even a prototype 14 years in the making sounds like its coming around the corner.
it is neat seeing different countries and cultures from perspective of native of that place. and its ultra rare finding Indonesian games from Indonesian developers, so DreadOut series is more than just a survival horror series, but also somewhat of a hands on experience of that place of the world, its language and its people. It woulda been nice if english localization included Indonesian voiceovers (it kinda does but most of it is spoken in english at least in the west), though anyways its really cool the developers are still making projects.
perhaps Koei Tecmo may be inspired to make a Fatal Frame 6 sooner rather than later.
with the upcoming DreadOut remaster collection, console gamers will be able to experience for the first time the previous games! DreadOut 2 includes a summary of the previous story, but at this point, newcomers may want to wait for the remaster collection and play those first before DreadOut 2, if they want lore/story surprises. and play them back to back chronologically for extra epic adventure! I completed DreadOut 2 multiple times on console and it really is a masterpiece in many ways, yea it has certain glitches but able to complete it anyways. lots of favorite parts and I like how DreadOut 2 evolved beyond camera combat and innovates the series with more immersive features and world design that is really unique and super cool combining the ordinary and the supernatural and exploring a chunk of an Indonesian enviornment that doubles as a place to call home. :)

I would love it if ps5 would read ps3 discs. Now i have never tried it before. tbf. But im pretty sure its not a thing. And i just wanna play games like wwe2k14(i have not played a wrestling game since i was a teen im 25 now) or dbz raging blast lol. Or xmen origins wolverine. Just cool old games that they refuse to register or port for licensing reasons. Why does sony care so much. Its like such a restriction lol.

So back in the day when resident evil 4 came out I didn’t get the chance to play cuz well I was just a kid and my aunts wouldn’t buy the game for me, I’m currently playing the ps4 version of the original game and I find the controllers a bit stiff for my taste, so my question is, are the controllers the same way as the original ps2 version? Or even the HD version on ps3?
I’m asking cuz I played GTA on ps2 and controllers where smooth and nice but in the ps4 port are like to fast, I’m guessing that happens cuz the game is running 60FPS+

So I'm building out a new gaming room downstairs in the basement with a Samsung Frame TV and wanted something that could run the screen for the table in 4k.
I had alot of concerns about an Integrated GPU from most laptops or mini pc's being able to support the 4k Display for Foundry.

I found a working PS3 slim from a flea market for a very cheap price and now im thinking of istalling CFW to one of them. Which of my consoles is the easiest to mod? I'm primarely going to mod them for installing and playing PS2- games on them, since my PS3 models are not backwards compatible. I might also add some emulators.
My PS3 consoles are a fat model with 2 USB- ports and a white slim model. I don't have the excact models memorised, but i can provide them tomorrow if neccessary.

I ask as I am very curious as the PS3 was said to be a very difficult system to work with because games that were made on it are very tricky to port to other systems, but I don’t know how Bluepoint managed to pull it off so well.
My point is that again if such a system was so difficult to work with in the first place, then I don’t know how the studio was able to basically rescue the game from the clutches of the system as I am curious to know the magic they used to make it happen.

For up your arsenal and deadlocked / gladiator all you need to do is change your DNS in network settings to 51.79.41.185. This works on both PS3 and PS2 in which I mean this works for both the PS3 HD ports and the original PS2 versions. Note for PS2 you will need a game that lets you change your DNS settings as you can’t do it in the system settings unlike the PS3. It is recommended you join the PSORG discord server as they are the fine folks you made these games work online again. This will help you cowardice with other players and assist you if you need more help.
For size matters it’s similar all you need to do is go to system settings and change your DNS to 67.222.156.250. Your PSP might have trouble connecting to your Wi-if router so here’s what worked for me. Change your Wi-Fi security to PSK and select WPA-PSK (TKIP) on your PSP. Or you can turn off the wi-fi security all together. But I don’t recommend this unless you are very isolated and don’t have any next door neighbors. I also recommend you join the PSRewired discord server. As they are the fine folks you brought back this game. And it will help you Coordinate with other players.

Better 18 years late than never
So...I haven't had a playstation since 2006, I always thought that the Xbox was the most powerful console. It produced hits like Halo 1 & 2, Splinter cell (look at Chaos Theory on the Xbox), and Forza Motor Sports (people have said its better than Gran Turismo). When the 360 came out, we got Gears of War (it didn't disappoint), Mass Effect 1 (arguably one of the best sci-fi games i've ever played), and Halo 3.
But then, the unthinkable happened. Little Big Planet, Uncharted 2, Journey, The Last Of Us, and God of War (2018)! Playstation started dominating. On top of that more and more Xbox exclusives were getting ported to the Playstation, just to name a few: Mass Effect 2, Limbo, Inside, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and just recently frickin Sea Of Thieves (yes! SEA OF THIEVES! A game that's made by Rare, frickin Rare)!
The Kinect never lasted (It looked it was gonna changed controller-less games forever), Lionhead was gonna release a tech demo called Milo (which used technology similar to ChatGPT) but was just for show, and then they started shutting down more and more studios.
So for too long I've been carrying the weight of gaming shame for not owning a PS3 or the 4, I really had high hopes for Xbox...I really had faith in them...just for once I wanted it to have just one good year where they start producing hit after hit and have that "killer app". We thought it would've been Starfield, but it didn't have much of an impact like Elder Scrolls or Fallout did, and now it means nothing to me.
So...I got fed up. Fed up with their business model, their president, and their lack of true exclusives. I'm going back to where the real games are, where the real games are going, where most of my friends are, and as soon as I hook up this bad boy i'll be in business. 18 years...damn.
