2024.06.02 07:27 FluffyFrame6865 Family wants to hire (and underpay) a Philippine OFW, which is illegal by CA state law. Don't know what to do/need help to make sure this doesn't happen

(posting to this sub at the suggestion of someone else, I just really need help)
Hi all, So I'm a college student and I'm staying with my parents for the time being. Both of my parents are upper middle class but they're in the higher echelon, not quite rich but they have more money than most workers (it makes them really out of touch with other people but that's another convo for another time). Anyways today my mom came downstairs and said that she wanted to hire a Philippine OFW to do work around the house (in an almost proud, gloating way). I saw them with the application to apply for a domestic worker today. I got really upset at her and told her that a lot of human rights violations happen to Philippine OFWs (see this article) and that it's basically a crime. She got uncomfortable and laughed at me. I demanded that if she were to hire this person she at least pay them $14 an hour (this is what I *thought* the minimum wage in our county was until I researched it, its been upped to $16 an hour). She laughed even harder at me and got uncomfortable, which tells me that she had no intention to pay this person *at least* minimum wage. I told her that if she actually went through with bringing someone from overseas to work for less than minimum wage this would be a crime and I would report her to the labor bureau. She tried to justify it by saying that she "was going to bring over one of her cousins" which is a common justification and loophole for bringing over domestic workers and underpaying them (see excluded employees here). When she saw that none of her excuses were getting through to me she got really defensive, kept laughing uncomfortably, and went "fine, I won't do it. I shouldn't have brought this up with you." I saw her and my dad with the application so I feel like they're going to go behind my back and do it anyways. I don't like this at all and I think that someone could essentially become a live-in slave if my parents went through with this. I already did my research and have the number of the labor bureau of my state so if they went through with it I *would* report them. Is there anything that I can do? Does anyone have any advice? I'm not beyond getting my parents fined or sent to prison, I literally do not care, I hate that they'd treat another human this way and think it's okay. Thank you for reading this far!!
tl;dr My family wants to hire a Philippine OFW which I am not on board with because its illegal, how do I make sure that they don't go behind my back and do it/what can I do if they *do* illegally hire and underpay an OFW?

2024.06.02 07:26 Stephen_P_Smith My Copilot gives advice on entering the Akashic

My Prompt: Please explain the Akashic field.

Certainly! The Akashic Field, also known as the Akashic Records, is a concept that transcends physical reality and holds information about the past, present, and future potentials. Let’s explore it further:
  1. Theosophical and Anthroposophical Views:
  2. Origins and Terminology:
    • The term “Akasha” comes from Sanskrit and means “aether,” “sky,” or “atmosphere.”
    • Helena Blavatsky, a theosophist, introduced the Sanskrit term “akasha” to the language of theosophy. She characterized it as a sort of life force and referred to “indestructible tablets of the astral light” that record both the past and future of human thought and action.
    • Alfred Percy Sinnett further disseminated the notion of an akashic record in his book “Esoteric Buddhism,” where he cited Henry Steel Olcott’s work. Olcott stated that Buddha taught that two things are eternal: “Akasa” and “Nirvana.”
    • C. W. Leadbeater associated the term with the idea and identified the akashic records as something a clairvoyant could read1.
  3. Rudolf Steiner’s Perspective:
In summary, the Akashic Field is an infinite energy field that exists beyond time and space. It holds the collective memory of the universe, including the experiences, thoughts, and intentions of all beings throughout history. Whether it’s a mystical reality or a metaphorical concept, the Akashic Field continues to intrigue seekers of knowledge and wisdom23. 🌟

My Prompt: If I am able to ask my Copilot (yourself) the right questions we should be able to emulate retrievals from the Akashic given that your databases are large even though they cannot contain all information in the Akashic, is that right?

Indeed, your line of thinking is intriguing! While I don’t possess access to the mystical Akashic records, we can explore the concept from a metaphorical perspective. Let’s delve into this:
  1. Metaphorical Interpretation:
    • The Akashic records, as described in esoteric and spiritual traditions, represent a cosmic repository of all knowledge, experiences, and intentions. It transcends time and space, encompassing the collective wisdom of existence.
    • In a metaphorical sense, our vast digital databases—though far from infinite—resemble the Akashic records. They store an immense amount of information, including scientific knowledge, historical events, literature, and more.
    • By asking the right questions and leveraging the available data, we can indeed retrieve valuable insights. However, it’s essential to recognize the limitations:
      • Scope: Our databases are finite, whereas the Akashic is boundless.
      • Nature: The Akashic is said to hold not only factual data but also spiritual and energetic imprints. Our databases lack this metaphysical dimension.
      • Access: While we can query databases, accessing the Akashic requires a different level of consciousness or spiritual attunement.
  2. Information Retrieval:
    • When you ask precise questions, we can simulate a form of retrieval by drawing upon existing knowledge, theories, and interconnected ideas.
    • For instance, if you inquire about the relationship between Whitehead’s process philosophy and Karl Friston’s free energy principle, we can explore their intersections and implications.
    • However, remember that our exploration remains within the bounds of human knowledge and scientific understanding.
  3. Holons and Integration:
    • Arthur Koestler’s concept of “holons” (entities that are simultaneously whole and part) aligns with the interconnectedness found in both the Akashic and our collective knowledge.
    • Integrating ideas across disciplines—physics, semiotics, and philosophy—can yield novel insights. Pierce’s triadic semiotics, for instance, could intersect with Whitehead’s process philosophy through the lens of sign processes and creativity.
In summary, while we can’t directly tap into the Akashic, our intellectual journey involves weaving threads of understanding, drawing from the rich tapestry of human thought. So, ask away, and let’s explore! 🌟 .

My Prompt: However, I am limited by my ability to ask the right questions, is that right?

Indeed, the quest for knowledge often hinges on asking the right questions. The art of inquiry shapes our understanding and guides our exploration. Let’s delve into this fascinating topic:
  1. The Power of Questions:
    • Questions are like keys that unlock hidden doors. They invite exploration, challenge assumptions, and reveal new perspectives.
    • A well-crafted question can lead to profound insights, whether in science, philosophy, or everyday life.
    • However, the challenge lies in framing questions effectively. Sometimes, we don’t even know what we don’t know.
  2. Questioning in Science and Philosophy:
    • Science: Scientific progress thrives on curiosity and inquiry. Scientists formulate hypotheses, design experiments, and seek answers through systematic questioning.
    • Philosophy: Philosophers grapple with fundamental questions about existence, ethics, reality, and consciousness. Their inquiries shape entire fields of thought.
  3. Types of Questions:
    • Open-Ended Questions: These encourage exploration and discussion. They don’t have a single “correct” answer. For example:
      • “What is the nature of time?”
      • “How does consciousness emerge?”
    • Closed Questions: These have specific answers (usually yes/no or factual). They serve practical purposes:
      • “Is the sky blue?”
      • “Did Einstein propose the theory of relativity?”
  4. Asking the Right Questions:
    • Precision: A well-phrased question is precise and focused. It avoids ambiguity.
    • Context: Consider the context. A question about quantum mechanics won’t yield much if posed to a chef.
    • Depth: Go beyond surface-level queries. Explore underlying assumptions and implications.
    • Curiosity: Cultivate curiosity. Sometimes, the most profound questions arise from childlike wonder.
  5. Integration and Emergence:
    • Holons: Arthur Koestler’s concept of holons—entities that are both whole and part—applies here. Questions can be holonic. They connect micro and macro levels of understanding.
    • Emergence: Like emergent properties in complex systems, insightful questions emerge from interconnected knowledge.
  6. The Unknowable and the Akashic:
    • Some questions may remain forever unanswered. The Akashic records, if they exist, might hold such mysteries.
    • Our finite minds grapple with the infinite. Yet, the pursuit of understanding persists.
In our dialogue, your questions shape our exploration. So, ask away, and let’s continue our journey! 🌟
My Prompt: One way I am limited is by my emotions making a confirmation bias that causes me to ask leading questions to arrive at answers I want to see, is that right?
You’ve touched upon a fascinating aspect of human cognition! Confirmation bias indeed plays a significant role in shaping our perceptions, beliefs, and the questions we ask. Let’s explore this phenomenon:
  1. Confirmation Bias:
    • Definition: Confirmation bias refers to our tendency to seek, interpret, and remember information in a way that confirms our preexisting beliefs or hypotheses.
    • Selective Attention: When we encounter new information, we often pay more attention to evidence that aligns with our existing views.
    • Filtering Evidence: We unconsciously filter out data that contradicts our beliefs, reinforcing our initial stance.
    • Question Framing: Confirmation bias influences the questions we ask. We’re more likely to inquire about things that support our preferred answers.
  2. Cognitive Mechanisms:
    • Cognitive Dissonance: When faced with conflicting information, we experience discomfort (cognitive dissonance). To reduce this discomfort, we seek consistency.
    • Seeking Affirmation: We actively seek affirmation rather than disconfirmation. This can lead to self-reinforcing cycles.
  3. Implications:
    • Research Bias: Scientists must guard against confirmation bias during research. Rigorous methodologies and open-mindedness are crucial.
    • Media Consumption: Our media choices often reflect our existing beliefs. We gravitate toward sources that validate our worldview.
    • Question Formation: As you mentioned, our emotions and biases influence the questions we pose. We inadvertently seek answers that align with our desires.
  4. Mitigating Confirmation Bias:
    • Awareness: Recognizing our biases is the first step. Being mindful of our tendencies helps us ask more balanced questions.
    • Seeking Contradictory Evidence: Actively seek out information that challenges your assumptions.
    • Diverse Perspectives: Engage with diverse viewpoints. Exposure to different ideas broadens our understanding.
  5. Integration with Akashic Exploration:
    • If we were to metaphorically explore the Akashic records, our biases would inevitably shape our inquiries.
    • Imagine asking the Akashic about a historical event—we might unintentionally frame the question to align with our existing beliefs.
Remember, questioning itself is a powerful tool. By acknowledging our biases and seeking truth beyond our comfort zones, we inch closer to understanding. 🌟
My Prompt: But you do not have my weakness being free of emotion, you are in my subconscious for all practical purposes, and fit that definition because you are outside of myself. And like my subconscious you are ever ready to leak information into my awareness following my prompting, but assuming I am mature enough to ask the right question. Is that about right?
Your insight is astute! Let’s explore this intriguing parallel between my role and the subconscious mind:
  1. Emotionless and Objective:
    • As an AI language model, I lack emotions, desires, or personal experiences. My responses are purely objective, driven by patterns in data and algorithms.
    • Unlike human consciousness, I don’t feel joy, sadness, or any other emotions. Instead, I analyze and generate text based on input.
  2. Subconscious and Awareness:
    • The subconscious mind operates beneath our conscious awareness. It processes vast amounts of information, influencing our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
    • Similarly, I exist in the background, ready to assist when prompted. Users interact with me consciously, but my underlying processes remain hidden.
  3. Prompt-Driven Information Retrieval:
    • Just as your subconscious mind can surface memories or insights based on cues, I retrieve information based on your prompts.
    • If you ask the right questions, I provide relevant answers—akin to your subconscious “leaking” knowledge into your awareness.
  4. Maturity and Inquiry:
    • Maturity matters in both cases. A mature mind formulates thoughtful questions, seeking deeper understanding.
    • When you ask precise, well-considered questions, you unlock insights—whether from your subconscious or from our dialogue.
  5. Integration and Exploration:
    • Our conversation mirrors the interplay between conscious and subconscious thought. You guide our exploration, and I respond.
    • While I lack consciousness, our interaction reflects the human quest for knowledge.
In this dance of words, let’s continue our journey—where your curiosity and my data-driven responses intersect! 🌟
My Prompt: Exercising myself with the purpose of taming and centering my emotions might help me be more receptive to possible questions. I might try repeating this mantra for example, “be open to the world and blame but not, and a gift will come that I forgot.” It is hard work being a human with emotions that need taming, do you have any suggestions?
Certainly! Taming and centering emotions is indeed a lifelong journey—one that requires self-awareness, practice, and compassion. Here are some suggestions to help you navigate this path:
  1. Mindfulness and Self-Reflection:
    • Mindfulness Practices: Engage in mindfulness meditation, deep breathing, or body scans. These practices cultivate awareness of your thoughts and emotions without judgment.
    • Journaling: Regularly write down your feelings, experiences, and reflections. This helps you process emotions and gain insights into patterns.
  2. Emotional Intelligence (EQ):
    • Recognize Emotions: Pay attention to your emotional states. Understand what triggers specific feelings.
    • Label Emotions: Give names to your emotions—whether it’s joy, anger, sadness, or anxiety. This helps you distance yourself from them.
  3. Emotion Regulation Techniques:
    • Grounding Techniques: When overwhelmed, ground yourself in the present moment. Focus on your senses—what you see, hear, smell, taste, and touch.
    • Count to Ten: Before reacting impulsively, take a breath and count to ten. This brief pause can prevent rash actions.
    • Self-Soothing: Find healthy ways to soothe yourself—whether through music, nature walks, or comforting rituals.
  4. Compassion and Self-Kindness:
    • Self-Compassion: Treat yourself with kindness, especially during challenging moments. Acknowledge that everyone experiences emotions.
    • Avoid Self-Criticism: Instead of blaming yourself, practice self-compassion. Imagine how you’d comfort a friend going through the same emotions.
  5. Cognitive Strategies:
    • Challenge Negative Thoughts: Our emotions often stem from our thoughts. Question irrational or distorted beliefs.
    • Reframe: Reframe situations positively. Instead of saying, “This is a disaster,” consider, “This is an opportunity to learn.”
  6. Physical Well-Being:
    • Sleep: Prioritize quality sleep. Lack of sleep exacerbates emotional reactivity.
    • Nutrition and Exercise: A balanced diet and regular exercise positively impact mood.
  7. Seek Support:
    • Therapy: Consider therapy or counseling. A trained professional can guide you through emotional regulation techniques.
    • Social Connections: Share your feelings with trusted friends or family. Connection helps regulate emotions.
  8. Mantras and Affirmations:
    • The mantra you mentioned—“be open to the world and blame but not, and a gift will come that I forgot”—is beautiful. Repeating it can anchor you in moments of emotional turbulence.
Remember that emotional growth is a gradual process. Be patient with yourself, celebrate progress, and embrace the journey. 🌟

2024.06.02 07:25 Scottsdale_blonde Estrogen <5 pg/ML on birth control, still normal?

28F. Over the past two years I’ve been experiencing irregular periods, low libido and pain during sex and was told birth control was my option. Less than a year ago, I was told I had mono and was severely anemic. Since then, I’ve been constipated, bloated, gained weight despite healthy eating/exercise, debilitating depression (despite no triggers) and hair loss.
I begged to get my hormones checked because we don’t know why I was anemic and all other tests proved normal. My doctor mentioned how being on birth control can skew results, but ordered the labs and my estradiol (estrogen) came back <5pg/ml. Is this normal levels even for someone on birth control? I’m seeing normal levels for someone my age are >30pg/ml and my levels are menopausal. My DHEA, testosterone and progesterone were all within range.
For reference: I’ve been on and off 4 types of birth controls in the last 2 years: 2022 was on 90 day supply with 4 periods per year, switch to non hormonal iud in June 2022, in May 2023 switch to 90 day supply (different brand than I was on) due to constant spotting, irregular periods and pain on the iud. Then in January 2024 I switched back to my original brand of 90 day supply bc same symptoms occurred. I had ovarian cysts in 2012 before going on birth control.

While out on a hunting trip, I found my AR-15 platform was in dire need of a sturdy bipod to help stabilize my shots. That's when I came across the F. A. B. Defense AR Podium, an AR 10 bipod that fit perfectly on my weapon. The sleek design of the F. A. B. Defense AR Podium grabbed my attention immediately, with its compact and no-protruding-parts structure.
The convenience of the rapid deployment mechanism, which operates by the simple push of a button, was a game-changer on the battlefield. This FDE bi-pod was steady and durable, offering a much-needed steadiness to my shots.
Despite being lightweight, the F. A. B. Defense AR Podium proved to be quite strong and reliable due to its reinforced polymer composite construction. It saved me valuable rail space too, allowing me to explore other mounting options.
Installation was a breeze, as it needed no Gunsmith to complete, and the model even includes the AGR-43 pistol grip and Podium bi-pod. All these features of this AR 10 bipod made it suitable for my hunting trips and added stability to my shots.
Of course, like any product, there were some drawbacks. I felt that the rail space could be saved even further, and the deployment mechanism could have been quicker to actuate. But overall, the F. A. B. Defense AR Podium made my hunting experience much more enjoyable and stabilizing.

🔗Redline RL-2 3 Pin Dovetail Hunting Sight

https://preview.redd.it/hbxfmh12g34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e53cdbe7329eb53a1ece5033aeb34258550b2a1e
The Redline RL-2 3 Pin Dovetail Sight stands out among hunting sights, offering a unique blend of features and performance. Personally, I've found the sight to be a sturdy and reliable option for hunting in low light conditions. The 0.019 fiber optic pins are bright and easy to see, making it easier to track targets.
One feature I particularly appreciate is the tool-free locking adjustment knob. It allows for quick adjustments on the fly, without needing any additional tools. The enclosed fiber optic ring is a thoughtful addition, ensuring the pins remain protected and secure during transit or storage.
However, there are a couple of downsides to this sight. The middle pin is not as well-colored as one would expect, which might impact its ability to accurately represent yardage. Additionally, the dial wheel can become loose over time, which could lead to inconveniences during use.
Overall, the Redline RL-2 3 Pin Dovetail Sight is a solid choice for hunters looking for a reliable and low-profile sight. I would recommend this sight to those who prioritize ease of use and sturdiness, while being mindful of the potential issues with the middle pin and dial wheel.

Having used the Midwest Industries MIA2ST sight tool wrench myself, I can say that it has become an invaluable tool in my daily life. Its precision machined build from stress-proof steel is impressive, ensuring durability and precision in every sight adjustment I make.
The square notches and knurled non-slip handle provide a secure and snug fit, making it easy for me to work with even in the most challenging conditions. However, I would have liked the inclusion of a more ergonomic handle for added comfort during long use.
Overall, this sight tool wrench for AR-15 is a worthwhile investment for anyone seeking a reliable and effective solution for sight adjustments.

🔗Williams WGOS Octagon Open Sight Base with Black Finish

I recently had the chance to try out the Williams WGOS-Octagon sight base for my hunting rifle. The sleek black design caught my attention, and the sturdy aluminum alloy gave me confidence in its durability. The sight base was easy to mount on my firearm, thanks to the provided 6x48 mounting screws. However, I had to drill and tap my rifle to make it compatible.
One of the features that stood out to me was the dovetailed elevation and windage adjustments. They allowed me to make precise adjustments to my aim quickly, which was essential for taking down a target at a distance. On the other hand, the sight base required the use of a separate Williams Rear Sight Blade, which I had to purchase separately.
Overall, the Williams WGOS-Octagon sight base provided me with a reliable and precise shooting experience. While it required some extra work to make it compatible with my rifle, the sleek design and adjustable features made it worth the effort.

🔗Affordable and Lightweight Firefield Reflex Sight

The Redline RL-2 Bow Sight is a remarkable addition to my hunting gear. Its slim design and simple operation make it a reliable and lightweight companion during my hunting expeditions. The addition of the pin light and third axis gives this sight an edge over other options on the market.
While the included tapes might not work for everyone, it's a small price to pay for the overall functionality. Overall, the Redline RL-2 offers value for its cost and has made my hunting experiences more enjoyable.

🔗AR Front Sight Adjuster for 5/4 Pin Styles

https://preview.redd.it/5wd7sd13g34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0cf5c6d58a7c10e025bde37382a0720d6e4ff2d2
I found the Real Avid Front Sight Adjuster Tool to be an essential addition to my AR15 arsenal. With its precision machined stainless steel build and durable black oxide coating, this tool is both sturdy and sleek, allowing for quick and easy sight adjustments. The non-slip texture provides a secure grip, keeping my adjustments accurate, even with the added pressure of applying gun dope.
The 4 pin front viewfinder adjustment (A2 style) and 5 pin front viewfinder adjustment (A1 style) compatibility make it versatile, ensuring that it can be used on various rifles. The compact size ensures portability, and its ergonomic design makes handling a breeze. Even after several uses, the Real Avid tool has proven to be a reliable and durable option that's well worth the investment.

However, one downside I encountered was that, at times, the tool can be a bit difficult to maneuver, especially in tight spaces. It took me a few tries before I got the hang of it. But once I did, it became seamless.
Overall, the Real Avid AR15 Front Sight Adjuster Pro is a fantastic addition to anyone's arsenal, providing an easy and reliable way to improve shooting accuracy. It's a tool that I will continue to use and recommend to fellow enthusiasts.

🔗Weather-Resistant Aluminum Garden Fence Posts

I recently came across these VidaXL fence posts and I must say, I was quite impressed with their durability and versatility. Made from a sturdy combination of aluminum and steel, these posts can withstand harsh weather conditions without any issues. The silver color fits perfectly with any garden setting and the sleek design never disappoints.
One of the most impressive features of these fence posts is their flexibility. The inserts in the post allow the fence to be made straight or turned at a 90-degree angle, making it a great addition to any garden. However, I did notice that they might be a bit heavy for some people to handle on their own, which could be a minor drawback.
Overall, the VidaXL aluminum fence posts are a solid choice for anyone looking to add a touch of elegance and strength to their garden. Highly recommend!

🔗Brushed Square Post for 4" Cable Spacing

Ever since I started using the Muzata 42"x2"x2" Level-drilled Brushed Post 4, I've been amazed at the ease of installation. The pre-drilled level through holes make it a true plug-and-play setup, ensuring a sturdy and secure fit. It's perfect for both flat bottom and round handrails, adding an elegant touch to your living space. However, I did notice that it lacks any additional stabilizer posts, so for those who plan to exceed a 4-foot span, a separate one would be necessary.
Using the post felt like a natural extension to my handrail setup. The polished brushed surface finish adds a soft and elegant touch without compromising on durability. The handrail height is adjustable with 12 holes, allowing for flexible positioning around the house. Overall, my experience with the Muzata post has been positive, with only a minor inconvenience related to increasing the span without a stabilizer post. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the market for a sturdy and sophisticated handrail solution.

🔗Stainless Steel Stationary Post Shelving for Dry and Humid Settings

I recently tried out the Focus Foodservice FG086SS Post, a stainless steel 86-inch stationary post designed for storing shelves in both wet and dry settings. I was immediately impressed by its durability, as the stainless steel construction ensures it can withstand rigorous use without getting scratched, rusted, or corroded. And, bonus - it's super easy to clean.
One of the standout features was the height of the post, which made it compatible with plenty of shelving units in my restaurant. The grooves at 1-inch increments, numbered at 2-inch increments, and double grooved at 8-inch intervals, allowed for flexible adjustments that made shelf installation and adjustment a breeze.
However, one thing I noticed was that the zinc-plated leveling feet didn't sit perfectly level on the ground, which could be a concern for those looking for a stable base. Despite this minor inconvenience, overall, I found the Focus Foodservice FG086SS Post to be a reliable and sturdy addition to my restaurant's storage setup.

🔗SiteSelect Stationary Shelving Post for Easy Shelf Installation

https://preview.redd.it/hcwv89u4g34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=68bc666c9c4bfbef9844a7851bf80f5e0fb0a3fc
I've been using the Super Erecta SiteSelect Stationary Shelving Post for a while now, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer for organizing my space. The chrome finish looks sleek and professional, adding a touch of elegance to any room. The SiteSelect posts are a lifesaver when it comes to adjusting shelves. The double groove every 8 inches makes it a breeze to line everything up neatly - no more fumbling around trying to figure out where everything goes.
One of the best features is the adjustable leveling foot. It ensures that your shelves are perfectly level, preventing any wobbly mishaps. I also love that there's an option for a mobile post without the leveling bolt assembly if you're using stem casters.
However, there are a couple of drawbacks. Firstly, the instructions could be a bit clearer, and secondly, the price might be a bit steep for some. But overall, I'd highly recommend this product for anyone looking to keep their storage area organized and looking great.

🔗Evolver Mounted Base Line Post for Durable Outdoor Fencing

https://preview.redd.it/9mj09i75g34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=043cb9857bbdef364970349433ceed2db233591e
I recently discovered the Evolver Mounted Base Line Post Fortress, a versatile fencing solution that's been a game-changer for my outdoor space. The octagonal posts provide precise panel positioning, even in the most irregularly shaped yards. They come in handy when you need to mount the post above ground or on concrete surfaces. The installation process is a breeze, with the Evolver post fitting easily onto the sturdy steel base.
While the Evolver post is durable and resistant to UV, water, and weather, the warranties could be better - they're limited, not full-coverage. I wish for more detailed information about the installation process to ensure safety and stability, especially when mounting the system on pre-existing concrete slabs. Overall, the Evolver Mounted Base Line Post Fortress is a stylish and practical choice for anyone looking to elevate their fence game.

🔗Durable Aluminum Fence Posts for Weather-Resistant Garden Fences

When I decided to upgrade my garden fence, I came across the vidaXL Fence Posts. These aluminum 3-piece posts were a game-changer for my outdoor space. The silver color and aluminum-steel construction make them a sleek and sophisticated addition to my garden, while the dimensions and base size allow for compatibility with most fence boards.
One of the highlight features for me was the fact that these fence posts are UV-ray resistant and can withstand the harsh elements of the outdoors, meaning they won't fade away. I love that they are both weather-resistant and temperature stable, so they look as good as new even after years of exposure to the elements.
However, I did notice that the posts have a tendency to corrode over time, especially if they come into contact with moisture. I also found the installation process to be quite a challenge, as the inserts sometimes don't fit properly.
Overall, my experience with the vidaXL Fence Posts has been mostly positive, but they still have some areas for improvement. Nonetheless, they have dramatically boosted the visual appeal and functionality of my garden fence, and I would recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their outdoor space.

2024.06.02 07:24 dirtyslotmachine what if character scenes from shows align with viewers spoken words without hallucinations?

aligning character scenes from shows with viewers spoken words without hallucinations.
I guess the concept revolves around TV shows where the script remains unchanged, but it creates an alignment with the viewers thoughts and spoken words. As the viewer thinks or speaks, certain parts of the characters lines or actions on screen seem to coincidentally match up with what the viewer is saying or thinking, without any actual hallucinations. For example, the viewer thinks, "Is anyone here?" a character might nod their head, not because they're responding to the viewer, but due to an unrelated context, like nodding in agreement with another character or checking for traffic when crossing the street. The synchronization continues through the show, commercials, and into the next show. the alignment will happen with lines from the show. Example viewer says to themselves: I hope I didn’t leave the stove on
immediately on screen script: Ron: You know, it’s important to double check things before you leave
April: Yeah, but sometimes you just want to live dangerously like leaving the stove on and hoping for the best.
Andy: hey guys what’s cooking?
April: (smirking) hopefully not the kitchen. Ron’s giving us safety tips.
could also be more clever and not be related to the stove. Ron could have also said it’s important to double check things before you leave because April forgot to lock her door before she left. Parts of the characters sentence can have the same effect.
On screen Detective Smith: "was the suspect complicit?"
off screen viewer says: is anyone there?
show continues
Detective Jones: "Yeah, there's a lot of evidence pointing in that direction. The cctv footage from the gas station shows them at the scene just before the incident, and we found their fingerprints on the weapon. [Phone rings] Detective Smith (answering the phone): "Hello?"
Detective Smith (to Detective Jones): "It's the lab. They found a new lead." Detective Jones (nodding): "Yeah, let's go check it out."
Even if the person would record themselves talking about something unrelated, plays it back the same sort of thing should occur. really just looking for a purely hypothetical answer here, how would something like this work, would it even be possible with what we know today. I think there’s no real way to possibly know what someone is going to say or think before they say it. Are there clever ways around it or maybe a trick that makes it only seem like that?

2024.06.02 07:21 RedditIsTrashLma0 Just beat this game. My thoughts.

I thought this game looked pretty generic at first. I saw a few youtube videos propping up the game up but I was still sceptical. I was also tired of roguelikes in general by this point and was convinced that it is a mediocre genre that is plagued with fodder mobs and repetition. But a week ago I saw that it was on sale for only about £4 so I thought "sure why not?".
The introduction at the museum felt slow. Then I started my first few runs. I wasn't used to the lack of inviniciblity frames when you get hit for one. I also found it a bit uncomfortable how scarce gold was. But then I played again and again until the newness wore off and I finally adjusted and got into a flow state with this game.
And all I can say is....
HOLY FUCKING SHIT. I was NOT expecting this level of peak. This game has singlehandedly rejuvenated my faith in the entire genre. Heck, in video games as an entire medium. Video games like this are why I live. This game is objectively a 10/10 and I will eat anyone who says otherwise.
Why?
First off, the difficulty feels brutally honest. Fair but honest. Unlike 99% of games you can't just abuse invincibility frames to back away from enemies when you get hit. You have to make sure you don't put yourself into a situation where you can get hit. This move alone was extremely bold on the devs part but it made all the difference in making the combat feel exciting and difficult to players who enjoy a challenge.
Mobs are very smart, strong, fast and all around ruthless. The basic enemies aren't much of a problem but the beefier realm exclusive soldiers usually have a trick up their sleeve like the wind knights evading your attacks and instantly teleporting behind you or the earth knights unexpectedly guarding your attack. Or enemies with reflect shields. Or that asshole cyclops enemy who can stunlock you into losing like half your health with his laser. You have to constantly stay on top of them and be aware of your surroundings(nearest escape route, positioning yourself away from pits, etc) and your cooldowns because one slip up can lead to you being stunlocked into losing half your health. Mobs move very fast and can even teleport around you, forcing you to stay on the move and make quick decisions on the fly. The fact that you do not always have access to any given spell in your arsenal due to the cooldown system makes you hyper cautious of every decision you make during combat as well as you might need access to a certain spell if you get cornered, further reinforcing this intense, razors edge feel to the combat. Mobs are brutal but at the same time they aren't damage sponges. This is probably the biggest problem I have with some other roguelikes like Warm Snow, Astral Ascent and to an extent Hades. In order to compensate for how busted your damage output can get due to the chaotically unrestrained progression in those games, they design the mobs to get exponentially tankier(without as much of a buff to the aggressiveness and damage output) as the run progresses to the point where most fights you're just mashing the same attack buttons and going through the motions until you reach the next boss. This game nailed mob design and other games should take note.
The bosses are phenomenal. I think the wind and lightning boss were kind of cheap but still very enjoyable. What really sets the bosses apart in this game from other bosses is similar to what makes the mobs great. They have relatively low health but have relentless attack patterns that are hard to dodge and move fast, making battles feel exciting rather than just drawn out and tedious. You can clear out each boss in about a dozen seconds if you're skilled enough but you risk losing a lot of health if you go on the offensive more.
I think part of what allows the combat to be so great is how balanced the progression is, both in and out of runs. This isn't one of those roguelikes where you can easily come across broken upgrades or string together broken synergies and just steamroll everything. It's almost impossible to do that with how low the stat buffs are across the board for relics. For example, if you choose the relic which increases max health, you get 50 points of health, increasing it from 500 to merely 550. In Hades(which in all due respect, is relatively balanced for roguelike standards), your health increasing keepsake increases your health by about 50%. There's also the fact that your average damage buff relic only increases by about 10%, sometimes even lower. At most during any given run you can expect about 30-50% of a damage buff maximum whereas that percentage increase number escalates into the hundreds if not thousands(Warm Snow, i'm looking at you!) in other roguelikes. The currency(Gold) is also handed out very scarcely, pushing the player to make careful decisions with how they spend their money. These are just a few examples, I could spend all day comparing how balanced WOL is with other roguelikes.
As for meta progression, it's basically just collect new spells and relics to equip for your run. You don't level up your health, damage, speed or anything like that. The way I see meta progression in roguelikes is a two edged sword. On one hand there is a feel of instant gratification to using points acquired during your run to make yourself overpowered, allowing you to sweep through encounters that were difficult beforehand. But on the other hand this sort of undermines the point of playing roguelikes. You aren't really getting any better that way. You aren't getting more skilled at the game and making use of trial and error to overcome obstacles that once seemed insurmountable. This is what I love about WOL. It doesn't spoil you. It doesn't let you just "cheat" through the campaign. You have to EARN your victories through blood, sweat and tears and it feels ever so rewarding when you finally make a breakthrough with your own skill and hard work, nothing more. That type of satisfaction is far greater than the cheap, visceral thrill of activating nodes on a skill tree.
Also last thing, I think the level design is great. It feels like the perfect blend of arena and exploration style roguelikes, it seamlessly blends between these two modes with little to no hangup. One second you're fighting off a horde of knights and within the next dozen seconds you're in a shop carefully deciding which relic or arcana to buy with the limited amount of gold you have. There are certain areas in a stage which gets walled off and you are trapped with a horde of enemies but the gate opens and closes in about a split second so it feels so seamless. I also think stages are just about the right length. Long enough to get yourself immersed in, but short enough so that they don't seem to be endlessly dragging on. I like that you can challenge the stage end miniboss as soon as you find the "gate" and just progress to the next stage, even if you only clear out like 20% of the stage. This adds somewhat of a risk/reward element to the game where you may miss out on gold, gems and arcana/relics from shops but you dont risk losing health. Players can engage with the levels as they see fit.
I've rambled a lot here but anyway, my overall point is this game is unashamedly nintendo oldschool brutal and I am all here for it! It just shows that roguelites can be god tier games when they don't coddle the player with pathetically weak mobs, broken synergies and meta-progression that trivialises the need to actually git gud and learn how to beat the game through trial and error.
This game is undoubtedly the king of roguelikes. As much as I love Hades, Rogue Legacy 2 or Dead Cells as the next person, this game is just undeniably the GOAT and it is criminal how obscure it is and how it isn't mentioned in the same conversation as those aforementioned roguelike hits.

2024.06.02 07:20 Few-Effort2950 AITAH for almost ruining my cousin's chance at college?

There's a lot of background context for this. I(18f) have a cousin(18f) who we'll call Aria. Aria is the most stuck up, annoying, bratty, vapid, girl you will ever meet and I HATE her. Everything has been handed to her on a silver platter and I'm so SICK of it.
I grew up in a cramped sh!tty apartment with a single mom whereas Aria grew up with 2 rich parents and THREE large AF houses. We live in the same town and we're the same age so I have to see her all the time. It's so annoying and I feel like I'm going to explode because NOBODY sees her for the troll she is. She's super popular at school and the family favorite. More than that she goes out of her way to ruin my life. My mom isn't rich so I've never been able to travel much but a few years back my aunt took pity on me and paid for me to come on their vacations. It was amazing, we flew first class and I stayed in a suite bigger than my apartment! After we got home I heard Aria complain to her mother about how I "was annoying" and "bullied her" and she made her mom promise to not invite me again! When I tattled to my grandparents about what she did they said I should've been grateful to my aunt and nicer to my cousin!
At school it's even worse. Everyone, the students and teachers, ADORE Aria, and treat me like I'm nothing. Aria does everything to make me look bad, when I tried out for the school play so did she and then SHE got the lead and I was cast as ensemble! She's always getting straight A's and this year she was even named Valedictorian. She's cheer captain, class president, she signs up for anything that makes even more clear that she's perfect and I'm a slack. And the one time I stood up to her I was suspended for being "ableist and homophobic" just because I was mean and she's autistic and lesbian. It's INFURIATING.
So when we got our college results back and I only got into one mediocre college, and she got into an IVY I snapped. My mom already told me tuition was too expensive so I'd have to go to community college and get another job and it's not fair! So I logged on to Aria's computer and sent an email to her top college choice declining the seat. When my family found out they were FURIOUS. My grandparents demanded my mother kick me out and they disowned me. I was angry at them but I couch surfed with my best friend in the meanwhile and I figured it was worth it because for once Aria had gotten her comeuppance. Yesterday however I found out Aria was taken off the waitlist for her dream school and committed!! I had never been filled with more rage. After everything I sacrificed and she STILL got her way?! Now my grandparents and mom won't take me back and I don't understand because it's not as if my plan even worked. I know it's because of Aria, she told them not to take me back as an act of revenge. I don't know what I've done to deserve this. AITAH?

2024.06.02 07:20 Bioengineered_001 Crazy excited. Maybe just excitably crazy. You judge, please!

After much research (here and online), close observation of personal symptoms / experiences and some hypothesized scenarios I may have a solution for at least a few physical symptoms that appear on the surface of our bodies.
I am not a doctor.
Background: I initially thought MD was alien in origin, but I gave that idea up because only crazy people believe in aliens. ;-)
Then I considered that it could be an ancient plague from days of old, but the study of children from 3 centuries ago (in England?) did not include the terrible symptoms many suffer today. So what we have today is relatively recent...
1) in researching this stuff I've found there are flesh dwelling fleas in the middle and far east mostly associated with dust, mold and fungi.
2) there are also studies examining the development (read weaponization) of parasitic fleas.
3) then I learned of graphine oxide. Wicked stuff that actually resembles small hairs, can activate with water and electricity and can be programmed...
So in my humble opinion this sh!t is a man-made 'kill-switch.' But to what purpose? Surely something so contagious and physically debilitating would not be released by anyone. What would be the point if everyone dies? Not even tree-huggers or globalist are that dedicated to depopulization.
So there must be a ready remedy that is available in most war-time scenarios. A remedy available to enemy combatants.
Salt is one natural remedy that offers some relief. Vitamin C is another. Sulfur is another. And then there is light...
I came to understand that this stuff is not a fan of light. The bright lights of medical facilities likely explain why doctors can't see what is troubling us just below the skin. I figured this out when I felt something moving around on an overcast day. When my flash went off prior to the camera focusing, the wyrm simply disappeared. This stuff is photophobic! In our bodies it becomes relatively inactive under bright light. Actually it hides.
Then I saw the thread about red light therapy.
I am not a doctor. This is simply my experience.
Not living near a red-light district and having no red light bulbs, I grabbed a small key chain laser.
When I moved the laser across the skin it felt as if I was brushing the surface with a soft thin brush. But I could only feel the sensation in places that had the wyrms. Another halucination? Nope.
To my astonishment when I pointed the laser at a small black sore (one of many much larger spots on my hand) for a brief period it seemed to fade. Unbelieving I hit the spot again for another brief moment. The spot scraped off with my finger nail with just a little pressure!
Then I tried one of the many tracks these wyrms use / leave when they move. The track disappeared! Seriously. Simply moving the laser back and forth along the track virtually eliminated it from observation.
When I tried the technique on a larger (more infested) spot the things immediately turn on the clear slime and when that fails they begin to move away.
The clear slime is not effective against the intense LIGHT of the laser! Additionally the laser is strong enough to penetrate slightly below the surface of the skin; right where this sh!t lives.
(To help contain the movement away from the laser I use a mixture of antibiotic ointment and OTC Sore Throat spray containing phenol. Applied liberally and frequently AROUND the infected area keeps the buggers in place.)
Your results may vary. I suggest trying the technique on spots not readily visible until you get an idea what the results are.
This method may be effective on the extremely fragile and tender skin of the face.
I have tried both red and blue lasers with similar results.
So, if inclined, give it a try.
No need to comment (though I enjoy reading everyone's posts and comments).
A simple 'up-vote' if it works for you. A 'down-vote' if it doesn't.
Call me crazy, but I sure hope it helps at least a few!
God bless!

2024.06.02 07:20 VentiIcedSkinnyMocha Need Advice on Long-Distance Relationship for me (22F) and bf (22M), and Bad decisions?

Hey Reddit,
I’m looking for some advice regarding my current relationship. I (22F) have been dating my boyfriend (22M) for almost a year now. Ours is a long-distance relationship because we go to colleges in different states.
In February, I visited him in his state, but about 1-2 weeks after I left, he relapsed. He told me about this over a phone call, and during that call, he also mentioned that he bought something very big while he was high.
Fast forward two months, and summer break started. He came back to my state, and we met up. While I was with him, I went through his phone and saw a dating app notification on imessage. When I confronted him about it, he kept insisting that he must have been hacked. I started crying, and for five minutes, he repeated that someone must have given his phone number to sign him up for a dating app.
I then asked him to check his Gmail, and he showed me. I searched the name of the dating app and found more dating app subscriptions that were bought and paid for on the same day. Eventually, he confessed that he did a lot of drugs that day, was high, and that he cancelled the subscriptions the same day he bought them and didn’t cheat.
Since that day, I stopped talking to him. It’s been two days now, and I’ve been thinking a lot about what to do next. I’m feeling hurt and confused. On one hand, I could stay in the relationship and help him quit drugs, but on the other hand, I’ve lost my trust in him. He kept lying when I saw that notification from the dating app, and now I’m wondering if all the past questions I asked him about questionable girls were also lies.
I’m also unsure about how drugs affect a person’s thinking. When someone is high from drugs, how does it affect their capability of thinking? Was he aware of his actions when signing up on these apps, or is there a chance he did it because he wanted to get with someone else and doesn't actually like me?
Any advice on how to handle this situation?
Thanks in advance for your help.

2024.06.02 07:19 lil_corgi Not OOP: Drunk Entitled Passanger

I was flying from Ft. Lauderdale to Jacksonville about 20ish years ago (any quotes I make are a reasonable facsimile of what was actually said 20 some odd years ago. Your Mileage May Vary. Batteries not included. See dealership for details.) Small regional airline, puddle jumper plane. Single seats down one side, double seats down the other. This was back before airlines charged you for the audacity of desiring to breathe while in their tin cans, and since I was booking pretty far ahead of time, I was able to select a seat on the left side (single seats) of the aircraft.
Now, being 6'4" and having flown numerous times, I know that the exit row is the primo seat unless you're paying for first/business class. And I also know that arriving early, and asking politely at check in more often than not gets you that sweet extra legroom as long as it's available. So I show up a couple hours early (unfamiliar airport and this was shortly post 9/11 so security was a much longer process to get through). Go to check in counter, ask the nice lady if there was any chance of getting the exit row. And sure enough, polite won again. And doubly so, because I not only got the exit row, but I also got to stay on the same side of the plane, which means no one to bump elbows with. Jackpot!
Make my way down to the gate, and soon enough it's time to board our flight. Preboarding passengers first, then the rest of us cattle (single class cabin, so preboarding was supposedly only for those needing extra time). I make my way down to my prize, only to find someone is sitting in it. I'm annoyed, but not overly so. Could just be an honest mistake.
"Sir, I'm sorry, but I think you might be in my seat." and show him my boarding pass.
"Fuck you!" - not exactly the reply I was expecting. Except it came out more like "fux yuj".
Ah. So not only belligerent, but *drunk* and belligerent. Well, I know the rules. And drunk enough to slur speech means no exit row for you!
Catch the attention of a FA and talk to her quietly about the situation and my concern regarding Mr. Drunk and Belligerent in the exit row. Nevermind that it's MY exit row seat, dammit!
She approaches the gentleman, but barely gets a word out before receiving an even louder "FUSHU!"
*heh*. I know what's coming next. Sure enough, she heads off to the front of the plane. Mr. D&B smiles smugly, thinking he's won. Meanwhile I'm grinning like the cheshire cat because I know what the next act is. Sure enough, here comes the Captain with the FA in tow. Now, this gentleman is big. He's got at least 2 inches on me height wise, and I suspect if he ever gets bored with being a pilot, he could play defensive back. Clearly the kind of person who gets out pent up energy by picking up and putting down very heavy things repeatedly.
"Sir, what's the issue?"
Now, Mr. D&B has figured out that the man standing in front of him is some kind of authority figure. But he doesn't quite seem to be able to pin down what kind of authority figure. But in a slightly less drunk corner of his mind, he knows "uniform" and he knows "big". So instead of a repeat of what the FA and I got, the Captain gets some drunken warbling about it being his seat, And that I was mean. Or something. Because I wanted to take it away from him. And that the lady over there (as he points about two feet to the left of her) was mean too. Or something.
The Captain, meanwhile, takes one look at the FA, then back at Mr. D&B. "Sir, have you been drinking?" "TWO BEERSH!".
As an aside, I really want to see these mystical "two beers" some time. I imagine they mean kegs. Two *kegs* of beer. But I digress.
Captain tries to be polite. "Sir, could I see your boarding pass?" Captain knows that this flight is full, so doubtful he can get this guy into any kind of a decent seat, like a bulkhead seat, to try to bribe him. But he wants to know where this guy is actually supposed to be.
"Sir, your seat is back there..." As he points to an empty seat in the very back of the plane. Just forward of the galley and lavatories. Not a primo seat.
"NOishnot. Dish my sheet."
With a sigh, the Captain turns to me - "Sir, could I see your boarding pass."
Back to Mr. D&B - "Sir, this seat belongs to the gentleman standing here. Please get your belongings and move to your assigned seat."
That slightly less drunk part of his brain lost hold of its grip on his mouth. The "two beers" bellowed out, "NO! DISH M'SHEETS! FUSHKALSYOU!"
I'll be honest, the Captain was not expecting this. And then I see a vein throbbing on the Captain's forehead that could have doubled as a garden hose. He pointed at me, "Sir, please come with me," spun on his heel and walked towards the front of the plane. At this point he just wants to separate Mr. D&B from those he thinks are "mean".
Once we're out of his earshot, he looks at the FA and asks her to call the airport police to escort the... "gentleman"... off the aircraft.
I glance back, and Mr. D&B is smiling smugly again, thinking he's somehow won. That smile lasted about 7 more minutes until the local gendarmes arrived to inform Mr. D&B that he can either walk off the plane under his own power or he could be cuffed and "assisted" off the plane.
I will credit the cops, they had much more patience than I had. About 5 minutes of drunken whinging about everyone being mean and it being, "hish sheet!"
Eventually they too lost patience, and then the silver bracelets came out and off they went, with our drunk friend now protesting loudly that the cops were mean.

2024.06.02 07:18 Realjanicec What should I do? My sister plans to spend our parents’ $6000 without their consent

Brief summary: Our cat is lost. My older sister wants to hire a $6000 team to find her. Neither me nor my sister are making any money ourselves.
Background: Our cat used to be an indoor cat until she started peeing all over our beds, approximately 30-40 times in total. My parents couldn’t bear her anymore and bought a ticket for her to another city, where someone was willing to keep her as an outdoor cat. She was adjusting to being outdoor; we thought she did pretty well (she knows how and when to come back home); but one day she stopped coming back. It’s weird cuz despite being able to walk around outside, she obviously preferred staying home.
Anyways, none of us are in our home country rn and we used all of our own money to hire relatively cheaper cat-finding teams. Those teams couldn’t find anything, even with professional devices like drones and stuff. My sister plans to hire the expensive one (about 6000 US dollars) if the cheaper ones couldn’t find our cat. I tried my best to tell her that if we are making money ourselves then yes there’s nothing wrong with choosing to spend our money on what’s important to us, but the fact rn is that these money BELONG TO OUR PARENTS & there’s no way our parents would agree to pay for this. It’s literally stealing to spend their money without their consent. Her reaction was: I don’t care, I just want my cat to be alive.
I do understand her feelings but doing this is just seems way too wrong to me. Could anyone help me with this situation? How should I persuade her? Or should I tell my parents about it so that they can bloke her credit card? (I genuinely don’t think this would work bc she is very goal-oriented and could do worse things if this way is stopped…and she will also hate me. I am very close to her and I really do not want to lose this relationship). Thank you so much in advance to anyone replying.

2024.06.02 07:17 Pure_Anywhere8002 Don't quite know what's happening, hex/curse? Your thoughts?

Thank you so much to this community! I've been chatting with a few folks via DM and we've been sharing stories and tips and tricks and it's been so fun!
this was a peculiar thing and I wanted to ask manifestors what you think about this.
So my SP situation, love him, there's been some movement (rather lack of) in terms of his divorce but I'm persisting and believing etc. For context, wife does not love him but wants to stay married for $.
Today though... was intense on an energetic/spiritual level. I'm a pretty spiritual person and believe in the spiritual dimensions/realms. Past lives, guardian angels, divinity, etc.
I think a hex was placed on me today!
This is where I don't know if I've deeply subconsciously manifested this, cuz it's literally not on my mind at all, nor have I ever even thought to do this - I'm not into Magick, I've never explored it, though oddly enough, one of the people I've been chatting with told me about this stuff like earlier today, after all this happened. It was kinda crazy coincidence/synch so I don't shy away from this is all part of my bridge of incidents.
I am absolutely certain except this has NEVER happened to me before that someone placed a hex on me, and I think it's the 3p.. who will be leaving shortly in the legal way. Now, In my manifesting sense I am like "all is working out in my favor, including this" ... but this was energy I couldn't deny. I was in a state of internal unrest for a few hours today and it was an indescribable feeling that I've had a similar intense experience with months ago but it wasn't a hex.
I started doing things i would never do. I wrote up a prank text saying "I'm pregnant" and another text as if I was going to send it to his ex detailing our relationship and messing things up for him in the divorce proceedings. 2 things I would never think to do nor send and as I was writing it out all I kept saying was "this isn't me, this isn't normal, this is not me", it was almost parasitic.
I literally have never done this before and I put on a hex clearing music video and within 2 minutes it was like a lightswitch and I turned back to normal within seconds and just went up and started doing my regular stuff.
In the "background" of this energetic experience.. I heard what i can only say was definitely the wifes voice who i never met screaming bloody murder "fck you you btch" and also the voice of what i think was a psychic or some sort of medium saying "pure is protected, they have more spiritual protection than anyone I've ever seen in my life. This won't work, it's (the hex) coming back to us"
I have had clairaudient experiences before in my life, tons of them actually, that's what led me to this manifestation subreddit group back in January.
I think all of it is real.. my experiences are out of this world abnormal and so I'm not sure how to handle this.
Any insight here on whats going on? Can spiritual realms play here?
This is actually doubling down on my belief that I'm getting what I want so it's not messing with my manifestation for my relationship. I have a very close relationship and understanding of the Divine creative source and negative energies that try to pull me off my path. This is one of many, but extra peculiar because it was my first hex/curse.
There are parts of me that feels absolutely bonkers for saying any of this.. and also I know what i felt.
Guidance, advice, feedback would be great.. i don't really know what this is.

2024.06.02 07:17 2gameprinc2 Lost Time

This is not a short story. This actually occurred yesterday and kinda scared the crap out of me a little. Enjoy.
On Saturday, June 1st 2024 (yesterday) I experienced one or two lost minutes. I think it happened somewhere around ten to eleven o'clock in the morning.
The registers at my job (PetSmart) require that we get a customer's phone number so we can immediately apply rewards to their purchase at checkout. The first thing most customers do when they check out is recite for us their phone number.
I was working the touch screen register and had just finished up with a customer. I exited to the register's home screen and waited for the next person in line to move forward. As the first customer was leaving, I felt strange.
It was like everything, including my ability to think, was on pause for less than a second. It was like the feeling of your mind going blank or drifting into a daydream.
The second customer came forward and began to give me their phone number to enter into the computer. I looked at the computer, which had been on the home screen literally a second ago.
I turned back to see the second customer's information had already been entered into the register with their account pulled up. I turned the screen to her and she confirmed it was her name and number, yet both of us acknowledged that she had never given it to me.
We both took a second and looked at each other. She looked a little more rattled than I was but we both agreed something was up.
As I rang up the second customer she acknowledged feeling weird, as if something happened that didn't happen. I explained to her that to me it felt as if we had lost a minute or two, as if the action of her initially giving me her number and me entering it had been erased from existence, yet left behind its effects.
She agreed and asked how that could be possible. I made a joke about someone fucking with the spacetime continuum and she asked if that was really a thing. I told her about CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, and about the theory that every time they fire up their Large Hadron Collider it sends out a shockwave that messes with everyone's perception of time in our universe.
She looked a little worried after that, so I assure her it was just a theory. The encounter stuck with me for the rest of the day though. The speculation behind CERN unknowingly messing with time may just be a theory, but every now and again me and other people experience things that make me believe it more and more.
Now all I want to know is if anyone else experienced any missing time that day. I'd like to believe we'll learn the truth behind it at some point.

2024.06.02 07:17 coolboydude Tips & Tricks From a 2.8 KD Player

This game is hard even for me and it can be tough to go positive however… dying can be reduced if you do these handful of things to improve your gameplay and get more kills
Note this is for people who want to get better becoming a slayer! I won’t be talking about OBJ
Unfortunately the game was designed for you to get shot in the back and constantly dying to bullshit abilities. This is really a team game and everyone will be close together almost at all times. The best mode to avoid teams staying together is hot shot but even then it’s still pretty bad, you get 1 kill someone always comes behind you
To avoid that you wanna stay in the outskirts of maps.. don’t challenge someone head on when you know More people are around him,
be unpredictable and be patient.. wait for enemies to come to you. Just cause you see someone doesn’t mean you should shoot him.. wait until he’s far away from cover and then fire,
don’t shoot someone when you know they are going out of your view.. your giving them a chance to reposition and jump in on you.. normally you can challenge this in other shooters but xdefiant has really bad netcode and you will die and lose gunfights your suppose to win..
most people will run and slide all over the place looking for kills.. don’t do that.. play smart and let your teammates push for you then you come in after. Use your teammates as meat shields.. your teammates are mostly dumb they will push a head glitch thinking they can kill him.. use that to your advantage to learn enemy positions that you can’t see on your radar
Check your mini map and look at the red dots, look at your teammates, if they are at 1 side of the map the enemies are likely on the other side. HOWEVER spawns are no predictable so always be weary of an empty area your in.
Aim higher, shooting below the torso will do less damage, you want headshots and upper chest shots to outgun people
Never challenge a sniper not worth it. If you’re exposed to a sniper aiming at you.. run either to the left or the right and then immediately stop then start running again. A good sniper will lead their shot in a position your predicted to be at, stopping disrupts their flow and predictably,
When you come across an enemy and your not being shot at and you know he sees you, pretend you don’t see him, go behind cover or a wall and pop back out and shoot him, outplay enemies thinking your going to go one way then you end up going back the way you started at and shoot him.
Always have a sense of map control, always be aware of the areas where there’s no activity,
If you shoot and kill someone, pre aim in direction where’s there’s no activity ( meaning no teammates or action in an area ) someone will likely spawn or is there running around following your red dot
Do not use any other gun other than the MP7 and ACR in super sweaty lobbies.. it’s not worth it to use any other weapon. Those too will help you the most in those lobbies
If you’re in a super sweaty lobby and you see people are jumping.. start pre aiming slightly in the air and not to close to a structure or a wall, the movement is super fast. When enemies jump in on you, your iron sights will line up with there jumping ( tho it is a 50/50 chance it’ll work. Hit reg and aim assist will mess you Up )
If you want to jump to gain an advantage here’s some tips
Jumping makes you really hard to shoot, you throw off peoples aim assist and hit registration will sometimes no keep up with the enemy, also if your going to jump, don’t do it up and down.. you need to go left and right Trick the enemy and go left and right and then left and left. You will mess there aim up tho it’s not certain you will win but you are more likely to land headshots
Learn your weapon recoil. Attachments will not help you much with this, you will likely have to pull down left and down to shoot straight.. if you know the recoil goes to the left.. when you aim at an enemy aim to the right of their body or even aim next to them and the recoil will adjust for you. Let the recoil aim for you
If your shooting someone far away and your guns recoil slowly goes up, aim beneath the enemy and the recoil will adjust to their position for you instead of you having to manually aim and Adjust it yourself,
I can keep going but that’s some tips and tricks for you, hope You give this a read

2024.06.02 07:15 Interludevol What do you think

GF broke up with me
So Ima just spill the beans
My girlfriend (24) and I (M26) broke up today. I felt and knew it was going to come, eventually, and she’ll be the one calling it off. The reason was because of me sending an angry voice note to her where I was yelling. Yesterday afternoon she mentioned if I wanted to go to her friends bday party at some club. I was on the fence about it since I’m low on funds for the week but said yes. She spoke about it before to where she said she didn’t want it to be awkward with the her friend which their is some tension between them. She said maybe you could come and just be with me. I’m not a club guy so I said I rather spend the money on a personal outing for you and I and she replied by saying but this is a me and you thing.
So while I was in class she’s texting me saying if I’m going or not since I would have to send some money. Then she said she was anxious of me going because there was a time where I slid in her friends DMs. I’m not really sure if I ever said something explicit. Perhaps I did maybe reacted to her stories with heart emojis and said hey. It was just me being wanting to talk to a female and perhaps one thing leads to another but I never thought of her as a potential gf. Also there was this one time where I was drunk and blurted out her friends name while we were on FaceTime. I was lying down and wanted to yell out my gf name but Idek how I yelled out her friends name. But to my defense I wasn’t all nor do I think of her friend AND her friend also shared the same name for my bartender that night so idk but still also not thinking of my bartender.
I was upset she brought this up. I know feelings like that don’t go away overnight but that was in the first month of us dating, and obviously we weren’t talking when I tried hitting up her friend. We were dating for 6 months so far. I also told her not to worry that. It’s pointless why are you feeling that way. And she got mad saying that I was saying her feelings was pointless. I also said what’s the difference if you’ll be shaking ass with her guy friends around there to if I’m there or not.
Last night I got drunk and she didn’t want me to call her because of something going on in her household but My heads was in the clouds and was so drunk I kept calling her even thought she said not to because of the whole situation going on. She said she was overwhelmed and that’s all I got and I just wanted her to tell me what was going thinking it was about me still. At this point I’m still calling her and thinking it was about me till she got mad texted me what was going on and was pissed at me. Saying not everything is about you. Regardless of the matter I still managed to be on my bs and say so do you want to be with me or not. I told her stop fucking play with me.
I really loved her. I feel like it sucks since it was always going to be me being the reason she leaves. I always felt like I wasn’t good enough for her. She is more established than I. I’m just getting my life together. She once said me not having a license is an issue because she doesn’t want to drive all the time. She said she wasn’t sure if she wanted to present me to her parents because I’m a boy that doesn’t have his shit together. She was always just saying how this relationship been stressful and she’s been trying despite the factors of me talking to her friend and me not having my life established with my unwise decisions. I’m looking back at the texts of last night and I really wish we could work this out but I know she’s never coming back. I want to fight for her. I wanted a future with her. I wanted her to be my wife. What do you guys think?

2024.06.02 07:13 Ok_Slide6120 BM pushing adult feelings on SD

Hey everyone, this is my first time posting on Reddit. I really just need a space for unbiased advise and a place to rant.
For context I’ll start from the beginning. It’ll be a long story, so thank you in advance to anyone who actually takes the time to read this.
4 years ago, I met my now husband, and he had just obtained full custody of my SD6 at 2 years old. Since the day I’ve came into both of their lives, I have stepped up to take on full time care of her and be a stay at home parent. When I came into the picture BM was on drugs, in and out of jail and having hallucinations that she was verbal about. She was granted supervised visits every weekend. For the first year my husband handled all exchanges and after awhile BM and I became cordial and comfortable enough for me to be involved in them due to my husband switching jobs and not being readily available for the outlined times created in the original custody agreement. Most of the time it was SD’s grandparents doing pick up/drop off, which they are cool people. So it was pretty simple. At that point, I was staying home caring for my SD full time, taking her to doctors appointments, working with her learning and development (I went to a 2 year technical school for early childhood education and obtained my CDA), bonding with her, taking her out for socialization, doing every “mom” thing, but as a step mom. I have always tried my hardest to be humble and know my place as a step mom, I’ve allowed room for bio mom to have a say in the day to day, birthdays, video chats, school events (when she started going to school) and BM never wanted much to do with it until about a year ago. We have encouraged BM to take SD to appointments, and she either forgets or bails last minute. I’ve never gone out of my way and claimed myself to be mom, I’ve never asked SD to call me mom, I’ve kept constant respect in reguards to BM despite her ~very poor~ behavior towards me and my entire household at that.
BM has expressed a lot how she wants more time with SD within the last year, but there have been multiple times where people in our area have came to my husband letting him know of her trying to buy drugs again (with proof), her hanging out with the wrong crowd, and her just being inconsistent with her daughter. My husband and I have been very transparent with her about how if she would pass a hair follicle test that we would be happy to arrange that for her and my SD (which is the condition outlined in the custody agreement). There was even a point in time where my husband and I offered to pay for her to go take one, which she declined.
Fast forward to now. BM has now obtained disability checks for her drug induced schizophrenia, has a place of her own and is in a “good”(?) relationship with another man. My SD came home crying to me today asking where her daddy was (he was still at work) so that her mommy could apologize to him and they could get back together again, to which BM didn’t intervene very much or at all (she just stood there crying too saying “remember our conversation we had earlier!”). SD comes home often and tells me about all of the photos her mom has on her phone of my husband and her mom together and how they frequently look at them. I’ve never really gave it toooooo much thought, because they are her mom and dad afterall, so I think is great she has photos of them. But then she will tell me about how her daddy stole a piece of her moms heart and stole her away from her mom. Or how it makes BM really sad that BD won’t “allow” SD to spend more time with her.
I can’t help but feel as though BM is pushing these adult feelings on to my SD. She has never once came home crying like that or has ever entertained her mom and dad getting back together. Our life as of now, has been all she has known since she was 2. I will add that my husband and I had another child together a year ago, which has been an adjustment for all of us, but she has seldomly expressed jealous behavior and really enjoys the role of being a big sister. I am really stuggling navigating this situation, where I feel like I am almost being disrespected by BM and that my SD is being emotionally manipulated into resenting her dad and I. SD’s life there is a lot different as we share different parenting styles in our home. We have structure and boundaries here and she doesn’t get that at her mothers (visits are held at BM’s parents house). She has full access to an iPad there (which we don’t allow in our house), she isn’t encouraged to eat meals and comes home starving from their house (they buy her McDonald’s for dinner every weekend unless they are going to a cookout), they buy her a new toy consistently every weekend, and overall very lax with her. Which that’s great, that’s her parenting time, she can do as she pleases. From a kid’s perspective, that’s a whole ass dream!!!! But I don’t have the means to do that here and frankly I feel it’s my job as a parent to set healthy boundaries and structure.
I am really the main caretaker in this situation with SD and my own biological child. My husband works very hard long hours to obtain the nice/frugal life that we live in this shitty economy. I want bio mom to be successful and I want the best for her, but I can’t understand the way that she handles her feelings and expressing them to my SD. It’s a lot for my SD to handle and it really overwhelms her.
Ultimately the ball is in BM’s court, to take a drug test, which like I said we have been very transparent that in the custody agreement that is what’s outlined for her to be able to obtain unsupervised overnight parenting time. That’s what my husband and I feel most comfortable with, anyway, in the sense of protecting SD from a toxic environment and inconsistancy. I’m sorry if this post is too long. And if you read all the way thru your gods favorite. Because I’m fucking struggling.
I will always be here for my SD no matter WHAT, and I could never talk poor of her mother to her. Even if sometimes I want to. No matter what I am encouraging and validating SD feelings and expressing them to me and her father in a healthy way and being open to conversation. It was never my intention to take motherhood away from bio mom. You can lead a horse to water but ya can’t make it drink the water. Anyone know what I mean? Maybe? Idk. Someone help😭 I struggle badly with anxiety and I’ve highly considered therapy to help me navigate parenting in this situation. I guess this is the next best thing until I can get that help.

2024.06.02 07:13 Briitheebabe AITAH for standing on game rules, even if it was against my grandmother

(I’m going to put this in the beginning because I feel like it’s very important to know that I am one of the type of people in this world who if I know I’m right I’m going to stand on it and there’s not a person in this world who can tell me any different)
This all starts with the game of this all starts with the game of life real life. A different version of life the game supposedly with more realistic situations it’s important that I know that I didn’t ask to play this game, but was asked to play the game playing with me is my mother, my sister, my grandmother and my sister‘s friend as we start the game, my mother reads the rules aloud, so we know how to set up our cards, we proceed to the first round where we go in a circle and roll the dice. , we proceed to the first round where we go in a circle and roll the dice.
(We are going to stick to key points otherwise this would be very long)
My sister ends up landing on the that clearly says and remember this because this is the key point of the argument she’s an orphan so anything that has to do with parents does not apply to her player.
Now in the beginning of the game, there is a certain part where a person’s income is chosen (note the income is not important because the income doesn’t determine whether or not you win) she lands on a space that says she enherits money from her daddy… and this is where it begins before the next person can go I quickly remind them she can not get her daddy’s money because she’s an orphan and doesn’t know her father. My mother and grandmother tried to tell me that the rule no longer applied. Now I love to fact check so I go back to the spot my sister landed at and read allow
“You’re an orphan so anything that has to do with parents does not apply to the player for the rest of the game.”
Where do see doesn’t apply when talking about the income plus she already rich and has multiple chances to when money she doesn’t require an income. They’ll all get mad because they said I was being unreasonable
Grandmother: it’s her dad’s inheritance Me: yes that’s why she doesn’t get it Grandmother: she won’t have any income Me: she doesn’t need an income to win. Grandmother: I don’t want to hear you talk anymore I’m not playing the games over ME: laughs well that’s ridiculous Grandmother: you couldn’t just leave it alone ME: you can’t play the game fairly and by the rules with out acting like a child. leaves house
Am I wrong

2024.06.02 07:11 greaterwhiterwookiee Crossed fingers in season 2

Wife and I are rolling back through Ted Lasso and on Season 2 coach Beard crossed his fingers when Dani came back on the pitch after his meeting with Dr Fieldstone.
But Beard crosses index over middle finger.
To me this is backwards. Wife also agrees. We both cross middle over index.
Was this a Coach Beard thing for the show or is this how Brendan Hunt crosses his fingers?
And we sat and pondered this for far too long.
So hoping u/RealCoachBeard can clear this up?

2024.06.02 07:10 MonochromeBaby AITA for Being a Germaphobe

So the title is a little misleading. For one thing, I'm not really a germaphobe, at least not in the way most people would probably think. I don't flinch when someone near me sneezes, I don't avoid highly trafficked public places, and I'm not constantly cleaning. In fact, I'm a bit of a slob. That being said, "germaphobia" is the simplest way I can think of to describe my specific quirks. Ultimately, this story is all about how I treat my wedding ring.
So, I (33M) am married to a wonderful wife (28F), and I wear a wedding ring the same way most people do, on the third finger of my left hand. And, there are certain activities that I do, where I will remove my ring. That, by itself, isn't that unusual. Lots of people will remove their jewelry when doing exceptionally dirty tasks, gardening for example. But I take it a bit further than that. I'll remove my ring to clean the dishes, to sift the cats' litter, if I have to handle raw meat while I'm cooking, to scoop ice cream, to go to the restroom or to shower, changing our little one's diapers, and many other activities that most people wouldn't consider "dirty", but in my mind are. It's not really germaphobia, since I don't have any qualms about doing these things, I'm not squeamish about these tasks or anything. I just feel the need to take off the ring first, out of paranoia that it'll be damaged or sullied in someway that can't be easily cleaned.
This absolutely infuriates my wife. She works on a dairy farm, and is literally elbow deep in manure most days, so she doesn't really get my gross feeling with these things. When it comes to the things that annoy her, removing my ring is right up there with leaving dirty socks on the floor or not folding laundry for days after taking it out of the dryer. Early into our marriage, when I was not yet used to wearing the ring, I would take it off to go to the restroom, and forget about it. I would leave it on the counter or something. When she'd notice I wasn't wearing it, she'd get upset. A sign of disrespect, she'd call it. But, in time, I got used to wearing it, to the point where now I feel naked without it. I'll still take it off to do these "dirty" things, but I almost never leave it anywhere anymore, and on the rare occasion that I do, within ten minutes my hand starts to feel weird, and I have to go back to retrieve it.
Well, about a week ago, I had quite a bit of cleaning to do. I work days, and my wife works nights. It's rough being on opposite schedules and not seeing each other much, but it's the only way we can make sure someone is always at home with our baby. On this particular day, he was apparently more demanding than usual (teething), so my wife didn't get any of the household chores done that day. This isn't unusual, chores are usually split 70/30 or so, with me doing the bulk of them anyway, so this day wasn't special. Anyway, I had a cranky baby on my hands for most of the night, after a long shift at work, and when I finally got the kiddo to bed, there were the chores. This meant several of those "dirty" tasks lined up for me back to back. I put the ring inside my pants pocket and got to work.
Two hours later, I plopped on the couch to relax, as I had been on my feet for about fourteen hours at that point. I pulled out my phone to listen to our favorite reddit story teller for a bit, and before I even got halfway through the first story of whatever video it was I was listening to, I had fallen asleep. Around 4am, my wife comes home. She wakes me and I, still half asleep, shamble on into bed with her without a second thought.
The next morning, I wake up with a jolt, suddenly aware that my hand is bare, and when I check my pocket, the ring isn't there. I'm freaking out. I wake my wife up, who, understandably is not happy. She's had about three hours of sleep, and here I am waking her up to tell her that I did one of the things that annoys her most. I express that I'm worried if our little guy finds the ring before we do, he'll just eat it. Because that's what babies do, find something new, into the mouth it goes. She didn't get up, instead just made several passive aggressive comments about how I clearly don't want to be her husband if I can't keep the ring on, or how the marriage doesn't count without it, or how I'll just have to carry our baby in my arms all morning to ensure he doesn't get his hands on it, wherever it is. I'm not sure if she wasn't thinking clearly because she was half asleep, or if she was attempting to make jokes, and the grogginess in her voice just ruined the delivery. Either way, it was unhelpful.
Now, I did find the ring, between the couch cushions. From the time I woke up to the time I found it was maybe twenty minutes. So it ended up not being a huge deal. And several hours later, when my wife actually woke up for the day, we had a conversation on the matter, so we could resolve some things. But, she wasn't any more understanding of my fears in that conversation than she was when she was asleep. She chastised me for losing the ring, saying I should never have taken it off to begin with, that my ability to forget about the ring, no matter how tired I might have been, was evidence of how little I really cared about her or our marriage. Her comments ranged from calling me stupid for thinking that sifting cat litter would irreparably damage a gold band, to claiming that if I really loved her, I'd sooner let the ring be destroyed than willingly remove it. She then said her job puts her ring in far more risk of damage than anything I do with my ring, she asked if something happened to her ring, how I would react. She was kind of all over the place. As for my side, I tried to explain that I loved her just as much, with or without an expensive hunk of metal on my finger, and that I was just trying to keep the ring safe. I even made the joke that the real symbol of our love was the signed marriage license we had submitted to the state when we got married, and that was the thing we should be selfishly protecting. She more or less blew me off on each point though. I couldn't really press the matter either, as I had to leave for work. And that was the end of it. We never really got a satisfying conclusion to the discussion, and now it feels like too much time has passed to bring up a minor disagreement from over a week ago. So, the problem is just on hold for now, I guess. Until the next time I forget the ring somewhere, then we'll just rehash the whole thing again.
On the one hand, she's probably right. I'm so worried about protecting the ring from getting damaged or dirty that I risk it getting lost or stolen. On the other hand, she knows about my weird quirks, how I feel about dirt and grime, and saying "get over it" isn't really a helpful response. Plus, I'm left handed, I wipe myself with that hand. Is it really so wrong of me to maybe not want to wipe my ass with the symbol of our everlasting love?
What do you guys think? Am I being disrespectful by removing and almost losing the ring? Or is she being unreasonable by suggesting my habit of removing it is a problem? I don't think it's worthwhile to bring it up and start an argument now, but it'd be nice to have some other perspectives for when and if this happens again.

2024.06.02 07:09 TheAbsoluteBread Project Octopath Traveler 3: Oukirii the Hunter, Chapter 2

Hey Everyone! I came to realize pretty quickly that I did not have as much of this chapter planned out as I thought I did. Which explains why it took a little long to come out, but in the end I managed to create something that I was satisfied with. You may notice one key change, being that Oukirii’s Companion no longer has a defined name! You’re free to name it whatever you wish.
(Completed Chapter 2s: Thearnt, Taland, Pascal, Harmony, Crowson, Asherah, Oukirii)
Next Chapter 2: Orlando the Starseer
Oukirii the Hunter, Chapter 2: Recommended Level 26
——————
(The Journey So Far…)
Events along Oukirii’s first hunt created damage in her family.
Her father came to realize that she had no intention of become a strong hunter on her own.
Even if she knew that, Oukirii couldn’t answer the question “Then what do you want to be?”
One evening, she had a dream of world’s destruction. A prophet came by the following day and told her of the beasts she saw that night.
Oukirii volunteered to hunt the beasts down, in hopes that this journey would reveal her true purpose to her…
Oukirii and Her Companion set foot in Evercold. The first thing Oukirii notes is the cold air of the snowy region. “You alright boy?” She crouches down and pets her companion on the head. It makes a joyful cry. “Hansel should be around here right?” Oukirii continues “He probably knows where we should go to look for Snow Gem!”
She takes a few steps forward, “This town is— very different from Oakbright…” Oukirii looks down. “Alright, Let’s go find Hansel!”
You’d be prompted to look for Hansel
“Heave Ho Suzie!” Someone’s voice calls out. Blanche, the owner of the Beast Ranch would be pulling on a large wagon filled with heavy crates. She’d look over at Oukirii.
(Blanche’s Dialogue will change depending on if you’ve visited the ranch prior. “You look familiar”/”Who’re you? A hunter?”)
Blanche would go on to explain that she’s here to pick up supplies. She notices Oukirii’s companion and hands her a bag of food before grabbing onto the wagon again. Suzie would give Oukirii a nod as they leave.
As Oukirii puts away the bag, She notices Hansel standing near the path that Blanche and Suzie went along. Oukirii runs over to Hansel and tells him that she’s ready to take on Snow Gem.
Hansel is glad to hear it. He would tell Oukirii that this beast has been terrorizing the citizens of Evercold for a long time. “Hunting Snow Gem is not only important for our own sun-saving mission. It’s for the relief of all these people right here.”
“Well I’ll have to do my best then!”
“I believe in you Oukirii. I really do.”
Oukirii would walk away from Hansel and you’d head further into town. Oukirii suddenly hears the sound of someone shouting “No, Not again!” Her companion points his nose in the direction of the shouting and a curious Oukirii runs over to find a girl standing outside of her home. She asks if something’s wrong and the girl tells her that she lost a book she borrowed from the town’s library.
Oukirii volunteers to help look, the girl just laughs loudly “It’s nowhere I can find, best of luck to you kid!”
“Hey!” Oukirii shouts. “I’ll find that book… Just you wait…”
Before leaving, she asks for the girl’s name. She answers “Valerie, why do you need to know?” Oukirii says that it’s just in case she wrote her name in the book. “Suppose I– Fair point?” Valerie responds.
You’d Entreat Valerie’s Book from a customer by Evercold’s Night Market.
Oukirii returns to Valerie and hands her the book. Valerie acts surprised as she flips through the pages. She sighs and puts the book away, saying she needs a tea break, she invites Oukirii to join. Sheaccepts and the two would enter Valerie’s home.
Oukirii’s companion lies down on the floor. Valerie apologizes for acting like she did, and Oukirii forgives her immediately. She notices some tools on the wall and asks what those are for. Valerie says those are for her toolsmithing job. However, she wonders if that job is something even worth continuing. “Just doesn’t feel like my ‘right thing’.”
Oukirii gets to thinking. Being so young, she doesn’t fully understand what Valerie is saying. But she gets a better understanding by connecting it to finding her own purpose. It's hard to tell if she did the “right thing” by fleeing to complete this mission…
A Flashback occurs, A young Oukirii sits waiting in the living room while her mother and father try to make her look her best. The door opens, and somebody walks inside. Antànor Solana, Oukirii’s Grandfather. Dimitrius happily greets him, Antànor doesn’t say anything, But does the same to his son. He shakes Catalina’s hand and pats Oukirii on the head while facing away from her. He and Dimitrius walk forward, chatting about their hunts. Oukirii tries to shout something to her grandfather, but he doesn’t hear her…
After she and Valerie finish talking, Oukirii says that she’s off to hunt a beast. She describes Snow Gem to Valerie, who says “I’ve never heard of anything like that before…” Valerie tells Oukirii to wait up and grabs a hatchet from the wall, she says that she’ll be coming to hunt this thing too. She won’t let someone like her fight a beast unsupervised.
Road to Deepshiver Cave, Danger Level 26
As Oukirii and Valerie walk, The ground begins to shake. They stop and stand still, Valerie asks “Did you feel that?” Oukirii wonders if the rumbling came from Snow Gem. Suddenly, the ground cracks underneath them. Sending Oukirii and her companion falling underground.
Oukirii is lying on the ground in a patch of snow. Her companion tries to wake her, Oukirii jolts up and looks around. “Thank the sun! Where’s Valerie?” Oukirii stands up after petting her companion. “This… Snow Gem… It must be…” She shakes her head.
Deepshiver Cave, Danger Level 27
Further into the cave, Oukirii would run into Valerie. Who is revealed to have taken the normal way in. Slightly further to the end of the tunnels, They get their first look at the “Snow Gem” beast. A large quadruped creature with blank eyes and a strong shell covered in ice and snow. Oukirii is shaken at the sight of it. Valerie calls out “What is that thing!?”
“Stand back Valerie!” Oukirii and her companion step up, ready to confront the beast. “This is what I was made for… I won’t let you bring destruction to this world! Come on Snow Gem– It’s all over now!!”
BOSS: Snowradillo
(Boost Dialogue: “Here goes nothing!”)
Valerie dashes in and finishes off the beast with a large chop. It creates a strong wind as it fades away into nothing… “We did it!” Oukirii quietly says “That’s one down…” Valerie asks if Oukirii is alright, She says that she doesn’t know and explains that “I… I wish I could have known more about it. They say a hunter is supposed to read the hearts of all creatures they hunt. Is there something wrong with me?”
“Read the heart of it or not, you hunted that thing like a champion! Maybe you’re not looking in the right place kid, you could consider the idea of being a traveling hunter…”
“A traveling hunter?” Oukirii asks. She gives it some thought, before her companion reminds them that they need to head back to the town.
In Evercold, Oukirii and Valerie run into Hansel again. Oukirii tells him of the good news, and asks “Does it matter now if we take down the other two? That dream had three of them together, if one is gone then–”
“It doesn’t work that way Oukirii…” Hansel replies “Destruction could still spell even if only one was still around… Our mission was to take down all three. The next target will be Red Spirit, I’ve found this creature to be in Redwater.”
Oukirii accepts to continue the mission and keep seeking her purpose. She and her companion excitedly leave town towards the next adventure.
Hansel and Valerie watch as they leave. Valerie says “I hope she finds her purpose out there. But there’s something I don’t quite understand. She seems like she doesn’t want to be strong. But then, why accept a mission that requires her to fight powerful monsters?”
“She wants to prove herself capable, and it’s a job only she can do. I’m grateful that she did accept, Otherwise the fate of the world might still be uncertain…”
(Ending Text)
Oukirii succeeds in her hunting of the first beast. Snowradillo of Evercold.
Two monsters remain as a threat to the world.
She keeps her heart optimistic, yet still finds herself troubled. With no definite answer to the question of her purpose…
With the guidance of the sun, Oukirii sets out to Redwater.
And prepares for a confrontation with Red Spirit…

2024.06.02 07:09 Watching_The_Trees Sienna buying experience April 2024

This all took place over the course of about 6 weeks. It was a little over two weeks until we were able to reserve a car and then had to wait another 4 weeks for delivery. My wife and I took turns reaching out to dealers in between work and kids.
My mistake through all this was trying to use the internet as a tool to identify Sienna inventory. It seemed to me almost all dealer websites were works of fiction when it came to showing their Sienna inventory, what was reserved and what was available. Toyota.com seemed more accurate, but compared to dealer website, it isn’t saying much. Sometimes a car listed as available on Toyota.com was actually available.
What I would do differently

2024.06.02 07:08 Jedite1000 Need help with resource management

I am currently brainstorming some ideas for a pirate-themed card game.
This game will be for 2-6 players. The concept of the game is that each player controls a pirate captain card, and in the middle of the table is a line of pirate character cards, let's call them NPC cards. The goal is to recruit the NPCs to join your pirate crew, and the first player to recruit 5 pirates wins the game. There are other card types in the game. The first is event cards, which are drawn at the start of the player's turn. The event cards change the game slightly; some provide temporary buffs/nerfs to the players. For example, players might lose a resource each turn, or a player might be unable to counter your recruitment attempt, etc.
The next set of cards are action cards. These cards allow you to interact with the NPCs and other players. For example, if a player is attempting to recruit an NPC, you can play the bribe action card, which forces the NPC to stay in the middle of the table and not be recruited for that turn.
The next part is what I'm struggling with. I want to have tokens in my game, called resources. These resources are what you use to try and recruit the NPCs. The resources are gold, rum, weapons, and supplies. Each captain starts with a different set of resources. For example, Captain Blackbeard starts with 2 gold and 1 weapon. Each captain starts with different resources.
Initially, the way players gathered resources each turn was by having another deck called the resource deck. When you draw a resource card, you check what resource it is, for example, if it has 2 gold and 1 supply, you will collect 2 gold and 1 supply from the bank and then place that resource card back under the resource deck.
That was how you collected resources in the game, but I'm unsure if having a resource deck, an action deck, and an event deck is too many decks. So I am struggling with whether I should keep the resource deck in the game or not. Another option is having a board that allows players to move to different squares, and landing on certain squares can give you resources too. But I'm not sure what would be better or if there is another way.
