2023.07.17 10:37 anomaly-667 DAE be hostile on dating apps?

So every month or every 2 months I download 1-2 dating apps because I get a little lonely. Honestly, I do believe those apps did nothing good for the social behavior in today's society and just makes people more depressed and less comitting to relationships but I still go on there.
Then the messages start coming in. Most people just seem so uninteresting that I answer with just 1 word until I get no response or insulted and then I ignore them or they me.
But what really tips me off is when people ask me for sex. I do not get angry in particular but defensive and sometimes insulting. For example, some dude ask me if I wanted to kick his balls and I thought it was funny to send him the BME Pain Olympics video.
Or just decline with "no" to the request and if they ask why I tell them they just seem uninteresting and that it would be a waste of time and then they insult me.
Honestly, I do not know what I expect from those apps and why I go on there. I gave up on love completely when I was 19 (5.5 years ago) when I got severely hurt for what felt like the 1000th time. Maybe it's some sort of revenge on people? I really do not like people too much.
Anyone else like that?
Usually I delete my profile within a few days and retreat

AEW World Tag Team Championship: Kenny Omega & “Hangman” Adam Page (c) vs FTR
For Kenny Omega and Adam Page, choosing to fight for the AEW World Championship proved to be more detrimental than just tagging together. Berating Hangman for always screwing everything up, Omega tosses his title to the mat and walks out on Page just weeks away from their next defence. As Page drags both over to the bar, knocking back more drinks than usual, he’s joined by FTR, who try console the cowboy, offering their own friendship as the three cheers together. Out of the goodwill in their heart, they tell Adam it’s not too late to mend things with Kenny, advising him to take the belt back to him and return to them for a match ‘with no hard feelings’. Though not fully convinced, Page gives it a shot with Kenny coughing up an apology of sorts in response, assuring him he’ll be there at Road Rager.
Set in the home of the Acura Grand Prix with a racing theme to the set a la WCW’s Road Wild, Omega & Page do what they’ve done best for the past 5 months against the 5x Tag Champions. Hangman looks confident for the first time in a long time, knowing he’s finally in there with good company, expecting a light, clean match… only it’s anything but. He watches in horror as Mr. ‘No Hard Feelings’ desecrate The Cleaner, employing old-school tactics to hand Kenny a cruel one-sided beating, from cutting the ring in half to stomping him dry in the corner. Heartbroken, Page pleads with them to stop but Dax laughs back that “it’s just business, pal!” as Cash crushes Kenny’s leg draped on the ropes with a Diving Stomp! Though a feeble comeback hands the hot tag to Page, who goes hog wild on the challengers, briefly sparking some hope, it was already long over as Wheeler yanks back Kenny’s bad leg while Harwood covers Adam off the Goodnight Express to capture the belts!
FTR def. Kenny Omega & “Hangman” Adam Page (c) to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championship (18:25)

TNT Championship: Mr. Brodie Lee (c)’s Open Challenge
Darby Allin’s decimation at Mr. Brodie Lee’s hands sends fear rippling through the roster, leaving the world wondering how the hell can anyone stand up to the wrestling equivalent of Dr. Frankenstein’s monster. Wrestlers either without a care for their wellbeing like Joey Janela or simply in need of a paycheck like Colt Cabana (who later gets inducted into the cult) step up, but they crumble just as quick. As Brodie stands in wait for his next victim, a coarse New Yorker accent rings through the air as out steps Eddie Kingston!
An indie veteran without a fear in the world and with history taking down his here opponent during the Mad King’s 924 day CHIKARA Grand Championship reign, it seems the Exalted One has found his match! A much stiffer scrap than Lee’s past defences, he appears shaken for the first time since his signing, Kingston unleashing Tiger Suplexes and Uranages to floor the champion. A Discus Lariat bites back, but Eddie kicks out unlike the rest and whacks Brodie with the Backfist to the Future! ONE! TWO! THR-KICK OUT! On the cusp of victory, he sets up the Royal Flush, but a Big Boot and a BRODIE BOMB finally takes him down after an incredible fight!
Mr. Brodie Lee (c) def. Eddie Kingston to retain the TNT Championship (10:18)

Chris Jericho vs PAC
As much as Chris Jericho tries to hide it, he’s far from the same man that walked into Double Or Nothing. Acting like a Vietnam veteran the way his PTSD manifests itself wherever he walks, he has a much shorter fuse around The Inner Circle, scolding Hager for attacking him even though it was against his will and bullying Guevara for no reason. With the Painmaker dead, he’s been reincarnated as light-up jacket Jericho, and with that comes the man whose ankle he shattered during those days of his career. PAC hasn’t forgotten, and with the Casino Chip in hand, he wants Mox’s attention to take him seriously by beating the inaugural AEW World Champion. With Chris inventing Money in the Bank and claiming to have won it in Apple… Appleton… the Big Apple, he calls PAC’s contraption ‘idiotic’ and demands royalties aka PAC’s shot. But when the Bastard refuses to fork over his hard-earned meal ticket, Jericho throws a hissy fit, threatening to break PAC’s ankle again to take it from him, resulting in a match!
Entering to FOZZY’s One Crazed Anarchist to the crowd’s utter dismay, the technical aficionado tamps on PAC’s leg, doing anything he can to pull off the Walls of Jericho, but the fellow faction leader has grown enormously since their last match, fighting off Chris’s advances with his own grappling, looking for the Brutaliser! The Man of 1,004 Holds recognises it as rival Perry Saturn’s move, and hence the PTSD settles in from the Dog Collar match he was torn to shreds in. Turning into a deer in the headlights, Jericho is helpless once PAC locks it in, frantically tapping and yelling to the referee PAC tried to kill him as a smug Bastard has his revenge.
PAC def. Chris Jericho (11:05)

MJF & Sammy Guevara vs Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta)
MJF and Sammy Guevara were fingertips from destiny when Orange Cassidy decided to ruin it all, leaving both men irate. With Jericho off running around like a headless chicken, Friedman sees an opening to gain another lackey to do his bidding whilst Wardlow’s on timeout for failing to help MJF win, and the mindless sheep he is, Sammy accepts Max’s request to take down Cassidy together. Though OC is the end goal, they take the detour of hurting his friends in the meantime to make him feel the burn they did at Double Or Nothing. With Taylor & Beretta in a funk as of late, they’re willing to take any rebound opportunity they can get, managing to build some hopeful momentum against the dastardly half of AEW’s golden young projects. It still isn’t their night though, a GTH and a South Hamptons Plunge felling Chuckie. Not done there though, MJF orders Sammy to bring him a chair, wanting to Pilmanise Trent! BUT OUT WALKS CASSIDY! As the heels high-tail into the crowd, the Best Friends hit their zoom-out hug as OC guarantees them he’ll deal with this.
MJF & Sammy Guevara def. Best Friends (10:20)

AEW Women’s World Championship: Hikaru Shida (c) vs Yuka Sakazaki
Two women who left DoN bigger stars than they walked in were Hikaru Shida and Yuka Sakazaki, the world singing the praises of the two Joshi stars’ successes. But with that comes competition to shine the brightest, the Magical Girl deciding one title isn’t enough for her, challenging Shida for her belt, having a bone to pick with her from last year’s DoN 6-Woman Tag. A tough first defence already making its presence, the Shining Samurai accepts with grace, leaving the two to put on a high-class battle for the riches. Sakazaki just as capable to dish Shida’s offence back, battle-hardened through countless main events in Japan, the champions of their respective promotions are as evenly matched as can be, going tit-for-tat on blistering kicks and death-defying high-flying stunts. As Sakazaki readies the High Wire, Shida intercepts with an Avalanche Falcon Arrow, stunning Yuka long enough for 3!
Hikaru Shida (c) def. Yuka Sakazaki to retain the AEW Women’s World Championship (14:38)

AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley (c) vs Penta El Zero Miedo [Cero Miedo Deathmatch]
When you’ve been burned once, you don’t trust so easy anymore. Whilst Mox finds comfort in his lone wolf lifestyle, it doesn’t come without its baggage. Already pursued by The Inner Circle until he beat the breaks off them, he’s knocked Suzuki-Gun and The Elite down some pegs since, though it doesn’t take long for the vacancy to be filled following DoN, Death Triangle on his back. Taunted by the impending threat of PAC’s eventual cash-in – the same way he won his own World Title back in WWE – the Death Rider finds the unfortunate company of Penta El Zero Miedo in his wait, the Fearless either due to rip the title clean off Mox or break him enough to leave his leader easy pickings to feed off.
Two of the most violent men in the company, they show no hesitation in showing that under Penta’s choice of stipulation as the former Lucha Underground and IMPACT World Champion licks his lips at the thought of snapping Jon’s previously injured arm. As Mox rides out on a Harley Davidson, they bring everything from road spikes to chainsaws into the equation, bloody an understatement to the massacre that goes on in the ring. Miedo almost successfully snaps the arm of the handcuffed Jon, but a yank of the steel chain wrapped around his neck pulls Penta face-first into a thumbtacks! As he roars in agony, Mox cuts himself free of the cuffs with the saw, before drilling the psychopath luchador with a Paradigm Shift onto a barbed wire board for 3! No time to celebrate though, the show’s closing shot is of Death Triangle having the last laugh after a Black Arrow, PAC holding both the Chip and title up high in a bit of foreboding!

TNT Championship: Mr. Brodie Lee (c) vs Cody
After committing his most heroic act yet of humiliating his blood, America’s Favourite Son promises to liberate the roster of The Dark Order’s evil clutches and bring the TNT Championship back to the people. Naturally, even the most devoted of Cody’s critics are curious to see how he plans to do what no one’s been able to do yet, so when he walks out in his star-spangled tights and brilliant white cape, the world is watching, especially including Hangman Page, who has the best view in the house at ringside for the action at Cody’s request to be a good friend. Page isn’t all too focused on the action though, more lost in awkwardly standing around, clearly not wanting to be there, using whiskey as his distraction while the crowd cheers for each swig he takes, Cody mistaking those pops for him.
The American Nightmare takes Brodie lightly at first, toying with the Exalted One using his stick-and-move strategy, landing an uppercut here and an elbow there, before wasting time in the ropes and rolling out anytime Lee tries to get serious, but the moment he soars for the Cody Cutter, he’s introduced to the worst pain in his life when a Lariat knocks all the air out his body! Thudding to the canvas, he’s left fighting from underneath like a true underdog for the remainder of the bout as Dark Order’s leader manhandles him. Page begins to take notice, even offering a word of encouragement, resulting in Cody nailing an eye poke and a Cross Rhodes as Hangman raises a brow, but even that isn’t enough, a Discus Lariat sending Cody spiralling down to Hell! As The Elite member lays dead on the mat, Brodie whisks up his title and exits the ring, stopping for a moment to inquisitively look an uncomfortable Hangman up and down, before leaving, putting the responsibility of helping Cody back on Page’s shoulders, both men staggered.
Mr. Brodie Lee (c) def. Cody to retain the TNT Championship (11:50)

MJF vs Orange Cassidy
With MJF having attempted to injure Cassidy’s amigo, they’re set on a collision course, the Salt of the Earth getting his chance at vengeance for the Casino Ladder match and the Freshly Squeezed standing up for the two guys he gives a damn about. With Guevara accompanying Friedman and Taylor in OC’s corner, the two keep a close eye on each other as they will on their fighters. Maxwell’s unrelenting in his targeting of the arm with his trademark Fujiwara Armbar, attempting to reinjure it, though Cassidy surprisingly outwrestles the man who’s supposedly better than him, which causes MJF to have a meltdown.
After a round of deep breaths with Sammy, MJF’s slipped the Diamond Ring though Chuckie immediately blows the whistle on it. Intended as a distraction however, Max uses the commotion to blindside OC to get back into the running, ultimately catching an Orange Punch to reapply the Salt of the Earth until Cassidy taps! MJF and Sammy act like they’ve won the Super Bowl as they wildly jump about and embrace in celebration, before Guevara grabs a mic and gets down on one knee, asking Max if he’ll join The Inner Circle! Friedman looks taken aback by the offer, though only to play it up as he gives Guevara a nod and a smarmy grin, an ecstatic Sammy sliding MJF’s ring on and handing him an IC shirt in response. As MJF puts it on, a powerful alliance has been cemented!
MJF def. Orange Cassidy (12:15)

Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D vs Big Swole [Tooth For An Eye]
Since their involvement over the AEW Women’s World Championship, Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D and Big Swole’s feud has only grown all the more bitter, Baker continuing to indoctrinate the masses from the safety of her dental practice and Swole putting in the real work in the ring. When Swole calls out Britt for hiding from her despite being challenged multiple times, Baker leaves her and the roster with a lasting reminder of what happens when anyone attempts to besmirch her good name, jumping her backstage and yanking out one of her (gimmicked) teeth with a plier! Satisfied, she drops it into a glass jar labelled ‘Big Swole’ to prop up in her dental office.
Swole disappears for a while after the attack whilst a smug Britt continues to run her disparaging segments, verbally abusing the entire roster, only for Swole to kick down her door one week and vengefully assault Baker! Sending her through monitors and machinery, a nasty tumble over her dental chair sends Britt face-first into a periodontal probe scattered on the floor, taking out her eye in the process! As Baker screams in agony like Swole once did, security’s called on the intruder, forcefully ejecting her from the premises as a darker side is seen in Swole for the first time. As a result of their actions, both women are suspended for 3 weeks, though it only builds suspense for their eventual confrontation in a sit-down interview mediated by Baker’s ‘best friend’ Tony Schiavone.
Swole rocking an implanted tooth and Britt with an eyepatch, they lash out on each other, Baker cursing Swole to the grave for ruining her flawless complexion, while Swole simply wants to knock the Dentist’s teeth down her throat. When Baker resorts to potshots about Swole’s partner, 24/7 Champion Cedric Alexander, Swole cuts the interview short and scours backstage for Baker, who taunts her from across the hall as security again holds the women back. With no choice but to let them settle their differences, they’re granted an anything goes match billed “Tooth For An Eye”, where Baker tries to drive Swole’s eye into the edge of the ring steps and Swole goes to work with dental equipment on Britt. Fighting out the Lockjaw, Swole ends it with a vicious Dirty Dancing that chips Baker’s perfect set of teeth, Swole finally putting down her rival!
Big Swole def. Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D (11:29)

AEW World Tag Team Championship: FTR (c) vs SoCal Uncensored (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian)
The Top Guys are back where they belong after years of being mistreated in WWE, and they couldn’t be rowdier about it. Shoving their gold in every tag team’s face, it’s not long before they have everyone wanting to shut them up, but the ones with the actual guts to get back in their faces are #1 Ranked Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian. Notably sharing 4 combined TNA/ROH Tag Title reigns together, not forgetting their other 6 NWA Tag reigns for Daniels and inaugural AEW Tag reign for Kaz, the beloved and decorated locker room leaders slap the taste out the champions’ mouths, telling them they’ll see them in the ring for the straps.
After 8 years together, SCU are as well-oiled as ever, showing their adversaries what true tag team discipline looks like, but whilst they may have ruled the world at some point, it becomes clear they can’t keep up with the cold-bloodedness of the champions. When a BME eats dirt, a Goodnight Express is there waiting for Daniels, crushing the hopes and dreams of the locker room as FTR reigns supreme, throwing up their signature one finger after the match to mark their first defence!
FTR (c) def. SoCal Uncensored to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championship (13:25)

Kenny Omega vs Chris Hero
Chris Hero’s debut at Double Or Nothing shook the very foundations of the company, the Independent God immediately gunning for the World Championship. Though he didn’t leave that night with the Chip, he’d certainly left the roster on notice by allying with Taz and Brian Cage in the aftermath, subsequently being bestowed the reactivated FTW Championship, and with Mox still on his radar, he pounces on the quickest way to reach the champion – a vulnerable Kenny. Going radio silent after losing the Tag Titles, cutting off all contact with The Elite, Omega took the time away to heal from the beating dished out on him by Cash & Dax. When he finally decides to check his phone however, he finds a message from Tony Khan offering him a way to make up for DoN and be thrust back into the high-level mix. Desperate for anything to save face, Omega accepts, leading to this monstrous clash being announced!
Not having touched since they traded wins back in ROH 11 years ago, Omega and Hero find themselves standing across from much more grizzled counterparts from the ones they remember, yet the chips on their respective shoulders still cut just as deep. Kenny tries to recapture the magic of The Cleaner, only to get knocked loopy by Chris’s trademark ungodly elbows. Fighting back with V-Triggers, he momentarily gets his head back in the game, though Hero continues to remain two steps ahead, Omega clearly struggling. When he tries for the One Winged Angel, it’s instead reversed into a Victory Roll that’s pulled through to a PILEDRIVER! Crunched on his dome, a vertigo’d Omega lies limp for Hero to claim victory as Team FTW stands over the carcass of the once Best Bout Machine.
Chris Hero def. Kenny Omega (14:38)

AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley (c) vs Darby Allin [No DQ]
From one perspective, Darby Allin’s chase of the TNT Championship could be viewed as an overall failure, but from another angle, it pays off in the long run, his streak of victories before his crushing loss enough to cement him as the top-ranked non-champion singles wrestler. With a choice to pursue Brodie again or try something new, Allin steps up to the Death Rider, having ulterior motives in mind. Cutting a promo from his local skatepark in a monochrome filter, he gives Mox an insight to his life whilst Ambrose was chasing the fame in the big leagues. He shows the conditions of the neighbourhood he grew up in, the car he was forced to live out of, the bingo halls he grinded in, all to get here. He feels like Mox has forgotten all that, getting too comfortable lounging in the pockets of billionaires whilst taking inoculations up his rear end. When they fight, he’ll remind Jon what it feels like to fight for your life.
Mox snaps back the following week saying Darby doesn’t know the first thing about where Jon has been and what he’s gone through so he should spare his breath. The reason Mox gets to live comfortable today is because he paved the path Darby now walks on with his own blood. He’s festered in the filth of government housing as he watched those same snobs not spare a dime. He’s woken up having to defend himself because no one else would. He almost died two years ago, even from the ‘comfort’ of a billionaire’s pocket. Even now, he continues to sacrifice for AEW whilst Darby gets to sit back without a damn idea of what it means to be champion because he was too busy getting whooped by Brodie. If he wants the ‘old Mox’ that bad, if he wants a fight for his life, he’ll get it under No DQ!
If the Archer match was rugged, if the Cage defence was brutish, if Omega and Page was a war, if Penta was uncomfortable, this clears them all. Taking place in Darby’s backyard of Seattle, they go as an unapologetically CZW as can be, Mox and Darby leaving each other covered in crimson without knowing who it even belongs to by the end of the match. Allin crashes into Mox with the thumbtack skateboard whilst Jon makes him bite the ropes to Curb Stomp light tubes into his back. Darby teases a needle on Jon, but stapled one-dollar bills to his chest stop that as Mox questions how the Daredevil likes the salary Jon used to survive off. A Paradigm Shift doesn’t put the resilient Darby down however, begging for more punishment, so as a Coffin Drop through a flaming table misses, Jon nails a Paradigm Shift onto cinderblocks to finally end Darby, silently gaining respect for the challenger in the process.
Jon Moxley (c) def. Darby Allin to retain the AEW World Championship (16:11)

The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, MJF, Jake Hager) vs SoCal Uncensored
MJF and Sammy’s budding friendship has been a joy to witness, but as it seems, Friedman joining Inner Circle hadn’t been approved by Jericho. Already as paranoid as can be, he freaks out at the idea of another man to watch his back for, though Maxwell assures him he’s trustworthy. Unconvinced however, Chris declares he needs to see it for himself, leading to them facing a distraught SoCal Uncensored, who are fresh off their loss to FTR. Taking the opportunity to shake it off by the horns, the close-knit trio give Inner Circle their worst in a sequel to last year’s Tag Title match between SCU and Le Sex Gods. Only this time, the addition of MJF proves to be a gamechanger as Jericho watches in awe, seeing a version of his younger, douchebaggier self in the Salt of the Earth. Saving Chris from the SCU Later, he nails Scorpio with the South Hamptons Plunge off a Codebreaker to nab the win!
The Inner Circle def. SoCal Uncensored (10:34)

Brian Cage vs Jeff Cobb [FTW Rules]
Big meaty men slapping meat. As Team FTW’s hold on the roster continues to grow with Hero and Cage under Taz’s tutelage, they try coaxing Jeff Cobb to join their cause, having targeted him for the past months. Already throwing down briefly in the Casino Ladder match, here they’re completely unrestrained in satiating their appetites for destruction as they compete under FTW Rules, where anything goes, anywhere. Hurling each other about with their freakish strength through the arena, they leave no stone unturned, from the crowd to the rafters to the locker room, breaking everything in their sight in Godzilla vs Kong fashion. Cobb teases an Olympic Slam down a flight of stairs though Cage manages to block it, instead nailing an 818 through the railings and a Spear off a ledge into a stack of production equipment, sending sparks flying everywhere! Rising from the rubble, the Machine delivers one last Black Magic for 3, before pulling a staggered Jeff to his feet after the match and offering a Team FTW armband one last time… Cobb finally sliding it on!
Brian Cage def. Jeff Cobb (11:39)

AAA World Tag Team Championship: Proud and Powerful (c) vs Jurassic Express
Whilst the rest of Inner Circle’s been in a bit of an unpredictable state lately, Proud and Powerful have remained nothing but exceptional with their new set of gold over their shoulders. Representing their heritage proudly with gold that’s been held by legends like El Hijo del Santo and Eddie Guerrero, they ensure to defend it just as fiercely as their predecessors once did, and they’re given that opportunity when Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus step to them. Having been at odds with Inner Circle’s newest recruit, MJF, in recent months, they now channel their frustrations through a more productive outlet in the form of padding out their legacies, warring with Santana and Ortiz over their straps. With each performance, The Boy and His Dinosaur have inched closer and closer to the big time, gaining the support and adoration of the crowd, which is on full display here to the jealousy of PNP, but they still lack the missing ingredient needed to tip them over the edge, a Street Sweeper handing them their demise.
Proud and Powerful (c) def. Jurassic Express to retain the AAA World Tag Team Championship (13:26)

Contract: Cody vs Eddie Kingston
Eddie Kingston’s performance against Mr. Brodie Lee certainly turned heads, causing fans to beg for the Mad King to be signed. Opposing that decision however was Cody, jealous his match was overlooked, though playing it off as ‘needing to test Eddie for himself’. With an AEW contract on the line, Eddie walks in even more motivated than before by the idea of a second lease on life, having considered hanging it up not too long ago, now sitting on the cusp of a regular pay check for himself and his mother. The American Nightmare condescendingly drums up support for Eddie, knowing he can swindle some cheap pops out of it, but Kingston sees right through his plan and is ticked.
Fighting off emotion over strategy, he engages Cody in a wild brawl, beating the silver-spooned grandson of a plumber till he’s black and blue. When he finally rolls him back in, The Elite member yells in agony, seeming to have tweaked his knee, whilst Eddie begs the referee to let him at Cody, not letting anything come between him and his contract. However, he walks right into a roll-up with the tights for 3, Cody playing possum all along! Eddie loses it, throwing a fit and demanding the referee to check back the footage, but when they call their decision final, Kingston decks them, causing him to be dragged out by security to boos as Cody grins, having ‘saved’ AEW from the threat of a ‘dangerous man’.
Cody def. Eddie Kingston (11:21)

AEW Women’s World Championship: Hikaru Shida (c) vs Penelope Ford
In her brief time as champion, Shida’s been firing on all cylinders, even being touted as the division’s centrepiece, creating her own orbit for all stories to fit into. One person who has their qualms with that is Penelope Ford, who’s forged an alliance with Britt Baker as of late as the only two female wrestlers signed to AEW who were also present at ALL IN, the pair claiming Shida has no right to be handed such a prestigious mantle, ‘having it easy’ due to being a Joshi, Kenny Omega protecting her from them. Miffed by the disrespect, Hikaru invites Ford to prove that to her by taking her title. Ford sneers, Shida having played into her hand, and after a handicap beatdown from Baker and Ford (which ends once Big Swole sends them scattering to build to Night 1), she takes the challenge.
Despite being less than 100% after having been hurled into the steps, Shida fights valiantly like a true Samurai as the Bad Girl continuously targets the injury, a Fisherman’s Suplex even scoring a close count. Once Hikaru gets the knees up to block a Diving Moonsault though, a Three Count knocks Ford off her high horse, Shida keeping her spot!
Hikaru Shida (c) def. Penelope Ford to retain the AEW Women’s World Championship (12:18)

TNT Championship: Mr. Brodie Lee (c) vs “Hangman” Adam Page
After his destruction of Cody, Mr. Brodie Lee for the first time handpicks his next challenger, revealing via a TV broadcast in a Being The Elite segment he wants Hangman! Page does a spit take of his Johnny Walker, frantically shaking his head, but when Cody pleads with him to avenge his friend, Adam’s forced to suck it up and pack his wrestling gear. Come the show, he’s approached by Evil Uno earlier in the night, who tries to entice Hangman with the idea of leaving his fake friends to join them, pointing to how much it’s already bettered the lives of recruits Preston Vance and Colt Cabana, but when Page waves it off, he doesn’t realise he’s scripting his death in the process.
When words don’t work, violence is resorted to, and that’s exactly what the Exalted One inflicts upon the Cowboy, treating him to a horror flick-esque nightmare of repeated soul-crushing slams and lariats. Hangman fires back with a brief hope spot, a Discus Lariat of his own staggering Lee and a Moonsault even looking like it’ll do the trick, the tenacity of Page making him last longer than anyone has yet against his beastly foe. But then the Big Boot hits him like a ton of bricks when he attempts the Buckshot Lariat, and from there, it’s academic, a pair of Brodie Bombs killing the gunslinger. As Brodie looks down at his fallen foe, he shakes his head in disappointment and walks off, leaving him for the crows to feast on with no Cody running out to help him to the back…

AEW World Tag Team Championship: FTR (c) vs Y2MJF
If the question of how much Jericho’s lost his mind hasn’t been asked at this point, “Le Dinner Debonair” is enough of a satisfactory answer for when it is, Y2J and MJF producing one of the most bizarre yet extraordinary theatrical displays in wrestling as they sing and dance to “My Shadow and Me”. Acting like best friends already despite only knowing each other for some weeks, it pushes Sammy into the background, who claws for the approval of both men, becoming their whipping boy without so much as a peep. With Jericho needing to get back onto his feet, MJF suggests they go after gold together, and so, after sending a Tag Team Eliminator scheduled by FTR between The Young Bucks and Private Party into disarray by having Guevara attack the champions (and subsequently get murdered by them) to draw their attention, who then let their fight spill into the ring and cause a no contest, the Top Guys choose to fight Y2MJF instead, forcing the Bucks to jump through more hoops before they can get their dream match.
Kicking off the show, The Devious Duo give FTR their most unique match yet since signing, forcing them to throw their usual heelish strategies out the window when MJF proves to be even more of a douche than them. Directing his own southern-style bout with Jericho actually pulling his own weight, they have FTR on the backfoot trying to troubleshoot. That is, until Chris sets up the finish, going to tag in MJF… but it’s not him on the apron. OHIO’S OWN WARDLOW IS BACK! Jericho trembles as he turns to Friedman, not understanding what’s going on, only for Maxwell to mouth back ‘You just made the list’… GOODNIGHT EXPRESS! ONE! TWO! THREE!
As FTR scatter with their belts, throwing up two fingers like they did the ‘one’ after their first defence, MJF steps into the ring and orders Wardlow to finish Jericho off! But out runs Sammy! Betrayed cries erupting from his throat, he begs Friedman to stop and remember their friendship, even offering him a new Burberry Scarf, but MJF gives the thumbs down, Wardlow nailing a ring-shaking Powerbomb! And as a broken Guevara crawls to Jericho’s side, MJF cackles, kicking up dust on his partner’s body as he walks out…
FTR (c) def. Y2MJF to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championship (14:23)

TNT Championship: Mr. Brodie Lee (c) vs “Broken” Matt Hardy [Broken Rules]
Over the past three months, everything from daredevilish recklessness to veteran indie tactics to southern wrestling to strong style to brawling has all been tried to take down Mr. Brodie Lee, and yet he comes out each time looking only stronger. Whether he’s willed on by a supernatural force or sheer power, the locker room is growing desperate for someone to stop him before it’s too late. In walks “Broken” Matt Hardy. Competing on an entirely different plane of combat, Hardy challenges him to step into Matt’s world of Broken Rules – a match where everything is turned on its head. 5-count pinfalls anywhere but the ring, countouts taking place in the ring itself, and illegal tactics mandatory unless disqualification is wished to risked, through which the title can change hands under these rules, it’s the complete reverse of everything Brodie’s done to win thus far, so with the advantage very clearly in the way of mastermind Hardy, the collapse of the Exalted One could be near!
Matt starts by trying to win off technicalities, attacking Brodie with curious weapons like a dilapidated oar and a mallet (a la The Fiend) before chucking him into the ring for an attempted countout, before running away with a shopping cart of hardcore objects to try disqualify Lee for not having any, only for Brodie to follow him backstage with makeshift ones, ripping a pipe off the wall to hammer Matt and clobbering him with a table leg! Hardy flees into a room with smoke billowing out, which reveals itself to be a house of mirrors as Lee follows him in deeper and deeper, Matt assaulting a helpless Brodie from all directions. Frustrated, Lee breaks the mirrors one by one until he punches a hole through the real Matt, before dragging his face across piano keys to play a haunting tune. Being beaten at his own game, Hardy resorts to familiar territory as he scales a ladder, though Brodie cuts him off, plucking him from the rungs with a Brodie Bomb through a table, before hooking the leg for 5!
Mr. Brodie Lee (c) def. “Broken” Matt Hardy to retain the TNT Championship (11:20)

Casino Tag Team Royale
After last week’s Eliminator was ruined, a much more intensive 10 team Casino Royale is announced instead, with The Young Bucks and Private Party continuing from last week by kicking things off! Centred around the desperation of the Jackson Two to get their match with FTR, they go on an elimination spree, mowing down duos with their unmatched chemistry and athleticism. Double Superkick for Private Party, Meltzer Driver to The Butcher & The Blade, More Bang For Your Buck on The Hybrid2! But once Proud and Powerful enter fifth, all that momentum vanishes in an instant, the constant thorn in their sides once more trying to ruin a good thing for them. SCU, Best Friends, The Dark Order, and Jurassic Express following in succession, it’s a struggle to the finish line as bodies are thrown left and right over the ropes. Once it’s down to The Bucks, PNP, and Jurassic Express, the Jokers reveal themselves to be… AUSSIE OPEN!!!
The hottest rising team overseas, 11 tag reigns to their names already across PROGRESS, RevPro, wXw, and more, they make an immediate impact, continuing Jurassic Express’s run of being the nearly-men as they’re chucked out after a Coriolis, before helping dispose of Santana & Ortiz as The Young Bucks get the laugh over them this time. #1 and #10 entrants remaining, the two insanely athletic teams have a mini-war, with a Lawn Dart Cutter even eliminating Matt Jackson, but as Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis surround Nick Jackson… IN COMES JUNGLE BOY! Standing on his eliminated partner to survive, he’s not done yet, helping Nick dispose of the freelancing visitors, only to soar off the top rope into a HBK/Benjamin-esque Superkick which finally eliminates him for good! The Bucks are next for FTR!
The Young Bucks win to become #1 Contender’s to the AEW World Tag Team Championship (15:04)

SWA World Championship: Jamie Hayter (c) vs Kris Statlander
Though Bea Priestley may be the head of operations between herself and Jamie Hayter, one might argue the Hant is their secret weapon given her Double Champion status, holding both the SWA World and Goddesses of Stardom Championships simultaneously. When accused of coasting off the Top Gaijin’s starpower though by Kris Statlander, she’s more than happy to back up her abilities between the ropes with her belt on the line, the rules dictating only challengers not from the champion’s home country being eligible to challenge. Andromeda anything but England, the Galaxy’s Greatest Alien doesn’t shy from giving Hayter a surprisingly brutal defence, the two stiff striking tanks lighting up the building with murderous offence. Rolling through a Big Bang Theory, Jamie knocks Statlander’s out cold like a block of ice with the Hayterade, both women given a standing ovation post-match for their starmaking performances, only for Jamie and Bea to flip them off to boos!
Jamie Hayter (c) def. Kris Statlander to retain the SWA World Championship (11:27)

The Elite (Kenny Omega, “Hangman” Adam Page, Cody) vs Death Triangle
Kenny Omega’s humiliation at Chris Hero’s hands cracks up one roster member in particular by the name of PAC. Mocking The Cleaner for having one of the grandest falls for grace since his New Japan days, he gets in the head of the man he loathes more than anyone else, prompting an emotional Kenny to snap back a reminder that PAC also failed to beat this ‘shell of an Omega’ twice. Now both struck in sore spots, all it takes is a match to light the dynamite’s fuse as the two kick and spit at each other in the crowd! Whilst the Bastard gains reinforcements from his troops, Kenny is all alone for the wolves to feed on, a Brutaliser recreating the scenes of ALL OUT 2019, Omega passed out in a puddle of his drool. With The Bucks already busy with chasing FTR, Kenny realises if he’s going to stand a chance getting through this next month until the eventual Tag Title match, he’ll need support.
On BTE, he turns to the locker room, desperately searches for any good man that’ll come to his aid, from ex-partner Chuck Taylor to even Michael Nakazawa, who big leagues him, too preoccupied with rival Brandon Cutler. Frustrated, Omega scrolls through his contacts, pausing for the briefest of moments as his finger hovers over Kota Ibushi, only to shake his head and keep joining until he reaches the Bucks. Giving Matt a ring, he seeks advice from his close friend, who states there’s two guys he could ask… but Omega immediately shoots it down, eventually cutting the call after reaching no conclusion. After becoming the victim of another attack though, this one even more brutal with a Fear Factor, he’s left with no choice but to knock on the doors of… Hangman and Cody. Not speaking with either since losing the Tag Titles, there’s an air of awkwardness between him and Page, though the Destroyer of Racism gives him a warm smile and embrace, welcoming any favours for his guy.
Dragging Hangman along, who tags for the sole sake of getting to beat up rival PAC, with Kenny noticing him also eyeing the Bastard’s Casino Chip, subtly moving himself in Page’s way in response to block his view, the band is finally back together and they’re as dysfunctional as can be. All three men stroking their respective egos, they bicker over everything, from who starts to pettily tagging themselves in at random points, allowing PAC’s crew to easily pick them apart. After an argument between Kenny and Page ends in Omega nailing Cody with the V-Trigger by accident after Hangman sidesteps, Fenix hurricanranas Omega into Hangman to knock him out the ring, before landing the Fenix Driver on the AAA Mega Champion, pinning him clean!

2023.06.10 13:50 Mysterious_Bath Firestorm Booking - Rebooking Kenta in ROH

KENTA is underrated. That's it.
Final Battle 2005:
KENTA's first appearance for ROH comes at the end of 2005 at one of their flagship shows, Final Battle. Now, nothing much is different from here to what happened in real life, with KENTA having a great match against one of ROH's best in Low Ki. The match would go on for 21 minutes, with KENTA knocking out Low Ki's chances of winning the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship, hitting him with a GTS to secure the pinfall and retaining his title.
Result: KENTA (c) def. Low Ki by pinfall to retain the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship (21:06)
Dissention 2006:
KENTA would make his unannounced ROH return at Dissention, just six days after his hellacious battle with tag partner Naomichi Marufuji. He would come out to ring after the main event between Danielson and Styles to much fanfare, with the crowd chanting his name. He would then announce an open challenge for anyone in ROH. This call would be answered by none other than THE FALLEN ANGEL, CHRISTOPHER DANIELS!!! KENTA looks pleased with this challenge and shakes Daniels' hand before going to war. KENTA emerges on the front foot of the match, managing to ground Daniels with his technical skills before bringing him down with a Bridging Tiger Suplex that only got a 1 count. Daniels would gain momentum after this, and would stay in control for the next few minutes and even hitting a BME which KENTA managed to kick out of at 2. Daniels would keep on the offence but KENTA managed things around with a huge Busaiku Knee which only gave him a 2 count. KENTA would retain control for the rest of the match, bar one last gasp effort from Daniels who tried to sneak an Angel Wings on KENTA who already had it scouted and managed to reverse it into a Fireman's Carry before HITTING THE GTS! 1..2..3! KENTA RETAINS!!
Result: KENTA (c) def. Christopher Daniels by pinfall to retain the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship (19:31)
After the bout, KENTA's celebrations would prove to be short lived as RODERICK STRONG WOULD COME OUT AND CHALLENGE KENTA FOR THE GHC JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP!!! KENTA accepts this match as its made official for Arena Warfare.
Arena Warfare 2006:
With the ROH fans fully embracing KENTA's presence in their company, he finds himself having to put down one of the biggest heels in the company. Strong comes to the ramp accompanied by his Generation Next teammates, but he decides he wants to do this on his own, wanting them to be fully prepared for their match later at CZW When 2 Worlds Collide. Strong manages to start the match off perfectly, gaining full control over KENTA and managing to weaken him down with his backbreakers. This overwheming offense to KENTA makes Strong feel a bit full of himself, and his cocky nature costs him the lead here as KENTA manages to reverse a Double Underhook Suplex, floating over and knocking Strong down with a Roundhouse Kick. KENTA would then begin to work on the head of Strong, dropping knees on it and planting him with a Fisherman's Buster for a 2. KENTA would continue to beat down Strong over the next few minutes before attempting a GTS which Strong manages to get out of and OUT OF NOWHERE HITS A SICK KICK!! 1..2..KICKOUT!!! WHERE DID STRONG PULL THAT ONE OUT OF?!! Strong and KENTA both end up out on the floor as the ref begins to count. Strong manages to make it to his feet before KENTA however, and uses this to his advantage as he begins chopping the chest off KENTA, leading him to the corner. Strong then places KENTA on the top rope and looks to hit A SUPERPLEX..STRONG ROLLS OVER INTO THE END OF HEARTACHE!!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! HOW DID KENTA KICK OUT?!! Strong is stunned as desperation begins to kick in. He calls for KENTA to get back to his feet, wanting to end the match as soon as he can. KENTA eventually does make it back to his feet as Strong goes for an OLYMPIC SLAM BUT KENTA THROWS HIM OVERBOARD!! Strong gets back to his feet and runs at KENTA WHO PICKS STRONG UP ON HIS SHOULDERS...GTS!! 1..2..3!! WHAT A BATTLE!!
Result: KENTA (c) def. Roderick Strong by pinfall to retain the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship (27:45)
Following this win, KENTA's celebrations would be interrupted again, this time by THE ROH WORLD CHAMPION BRYAN DANIELSON!! He tells KENTA that he's not a fan of exports taking his spotlight in main event matches when he's the one carrying the company on his back as their world champion. Danielson tells Kenta that if he wants to steal the show and be a main event star in ROH, he needs to run past him. KENTA then CHALLENGES DANIELSON FOR THE ROH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!! Danielson smirks at this as the fans begin chanting KENTA's name. Danielson's smirk quickly turns into a laugh, telling KENTA he hasn't done anything special enough to gain a title match. KENTA says he doesn't care, he wants a match. Danielson gives in and grants KENTA a match against him...AND SAMOA JOE?!! Joe comes to the ring and stands at Danielson's side. He appears to agree with what Danielson said and tells KENTA to stay in NOAH. KENTA says no to Joe's request and instead challenges both men to a tag team match at Best in the World and if he wins, he gets a ROH World Title match. Danielson is confused and tells KENTA's that he's got no-one to tag with, so how is he gonna beat him and Joe. KENTA tells him to just watch, as he leaves the ring, leaving the question as to who his tag partner is gonna be.
Best in the World 2006:
Danielson and Joe make their way to the ring first, followed by KENTA who is on his own. Danielson and Joe are both confused, with Danielson asking where his teammate is. KENTA tells him to wait as the music hits... ITS NAOMICHI MARUFUJI!!! HES HERE IN ROH!! Danielson and Joe both look shocked as they know an all out war is going to go down with two of NOAH's best coming up against two of ROH's best. Nothing changes in this match compared to real life, with the match lasting just over 30 minutes and the team of KENTA and Marufuji taking the win here as KENTA hits Danielson with a GTS to gain a pinfall over the ROH World Champion, putting the odds in his favour for their confirmed upcoming bout, which will take place in 3 days at Supercard of Honor.
Result: KENTA and Naomichi Marufuji def. Bryan Danielson and Samoa Joe (33:26)
Supercard of Honor 2006:
Coming into the match as the favourite here, KENTA finds himself in the biggest match of his career here as he has the opportunity to end the reign of Bryan Danielson here. Danielson is insistent on beating KENTA here, hitting him with stiff attacks that eventually lead to him getting busted open in the first few minutes. KENTA quickly realises that the Danielson he faced a few nights prior is not the same Danielson he's in the ring with now as the harsh offence continues. KENTA tries to take a breather on the outside but Danielson won't give him a moment of space, diving onto KENTA with a suicide dive as the champ is on fire. Danielson continues the offence on the outside, smashing KENTA's head into the ring post multiple times which only causes him to bleed more. The ref makes it to a count of 8 as Danielson decides to chuck him back in the ring for more punishment. KENTA tries crawling over to the other side as Danielson makes a fool out of him, pointing to him and laughing as Kenta struggles to get back to his feet. He eventually does as Danielson grabs him and starts hitting him with European Uppercuts. Danielson then throws KENTA into the ropes where he just goes over. Danielson almost looks embarrassed to be facing Kenta and mocks him as he exits the ring again. This time however, KENTA was playing possum and as Danielson went to attack KENTA, he got a fist full of ring post. Danielson tries shaking this off as KENTA gets revenge for earlier, smashing Danielson's skull into the same ring post, causing him to bleed. Danielson stumbles around the outside before rolling himself back in the ring as the ref's count gets closer and closer to 10. Kenta now has the upper hand over Danielson as he begins to hit him with kicks to any part of Danielson that's in his way. Danielson finds himself at the corner where KENTA doesn't stop, hitting Danielson with kicks to the chest. Danielson manages to catch KENTA's leg as he FLIPS HIM OVER INTO AN ANKLE LOCK!! KENTA tries escaping it but Danielson has it locked in tight. He does eventually manage to roll himself over, causing Danielson to go flying over into the 2nd rope. KENTA sees this and begins choking Danielson out, with the ref having to push KENTA out of the way. Danielson drops off the ropes, cluching his throat but KENTA doesn't care as he starts dropping knees onto Danielson's face. Danielson scurries under the bottom ropes as the tables have clearly turned. KENTA sees Danielson getting back to his feet and decides to do what any normal human would do and DIVE OVER THE TOP ROPE!! KENTA looks more than fired up here as he tosses a dazed Danielson back in the ring. It appears this match is coming to a close as KENTA picks Danielson up on his shoulders FOR A GTS..BUT DANIELSON ESCAPES AND HITS A REGAL-PLEX!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! Danielson looks at KENTA with a surprised look on his face, which quickly turns to delight as he realises he can inflict more damage. Danielson grabs the hands of KENTA, looking to pull him up, but quickly starts stomping down on his head. KENTA looks completely dazed by now as it appears one more big hit will put him out of commission. Danielson decides that enough is enough and attempts to lock in the Cattle Mutilation but KENTA DOESN'T ALLOW IT!! KENTA fights against Danielson's attempts and manages to get back to his feet before delivering an Arm Drag to Danielson. Danielson gets back to his feet and runs to KENTA who stops him dead in his tracks, picking him up FOR A BUCKLE BOMB!! Danielson bounces off the turnbuckle as KENTA runs the ropes.. BUSAIKU KNEE!! 1..2..KICKOUT!!! HOW ON EARTH?!! KENTA just sits in the ring, staring into nothingness with a look of disbelief at Danielson kicking out. KENTA starts getting mad and begins stomping the head of Danielson who is defenseless. KENTA then slowly picks Danielson up, with the intention of hitting a Falcon's Arrow, but Danielson manages to float over, hitting KENTA with a neckbreaker. Danielson stumbles back to his feet as KENTA finds his whereabouts again, with Danielson picking KENTA up on his shoulders and hitting him with a Rolling Fireman's Carry Slam. Danielson then launches at a seated KENTA with a huge dropkick that knocks him down. Danielson is feeling fired up at this point as HE LOCKS IN THE TRIANGLE CHOKE!! KENTA HAS NOWHERE TO GO!! DANIELSON ONLY MAKES IT WORSE WITH ELBOWS TO THE HEAD!! KENTA tries fighting out of it but Danielson has it locked in tight. WAIT..KENTA'S FADING!! The ref checks on him as he raises him arm up once. Nothing. Twice. Nothing. A third time...KENTA RESPONDS!! HE'S STILL IN THIS!! KENTA starts gaining elevation over Danielson as HE PICKS HIM UP ON HIS SHOULDERS...SITOUT POWERBOMB!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! WHAT'S IT GONNA TAKE FOR ONE OF THESE MEN TO STAY DOWN?!! Both men are grounded due to fatigue as the ref is forced to count. He makes it up to 6 with no response from either men. By the time he gets to 8, they find themselves pulling themselves up with the assistance of the ring ropes. They both make it to their feet before the 10 count as they stumble into each other in the middle of the ring. Danielson lands the first strike which causes KENTA to stumble but he returns the favour with a strike of his own. They continue doing this as Danielson gets booed with every strike and KENTA cheered with his. KENTA does get the upper hand here as he manages to get a powerful Roundhouse Kick on Danielson which knocks him into the ropes BUT DANIELSON RESPONDS WITH A BUSAIKU KNEE!!! HE STOLE KENTA'S MOVE!! BUT WAIT...KENTA ROLLS OVER!! HOW THE FUCK?!! HE PICKS UP DANIELSON...GTS!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! THIS IS NEVER GONNA END!! At this point, blood has stained the mat and the faces of both men, providing a mask to hide how they feel about this relentless brutality. KENTA is practically delirious as he somehow manages to make it to his feet. He calls for Danielson to get up as he looks to end this once and for all. He stands in the corner waiting, looking to hit that Busaiku Knee but Danielson doesn't move. KENTA is then forced to make his way over to Danielson to get him back to his feet BUT DANIELSON WAS PLAYING POSSUM THE WHOLE TIME AS HE LOCKS KENTA IN THE TRIANGLE CHOKE AGAIN!! DANIELSON WON'T STOP WITH THE ELBOWS AS THE REF IS FORCED TO CALL THE MATCH!!
Result: Bryan Danielson (c) def. KENTA by technical submission to retain the ROH World Championship (48:57)
Following the bout, Danielson would help KENTA back to his feet. He would then offer his hand out as a sign of respect and although hesistant at first, KENTA would shake it and raise Danielson's hand.
KENTA would then return to Japan after this, defending his GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship throughout the summer, before losing it to Takashi Sugiura at Northern Navigation. He would continue in Japan for a few more months before making his return to ROH at International Challenge.
International Challenge 2006:
After his rivalry with McGuinness over the summer, Danielson's next rival would come in the form of Homicide. After beating him once at Motor City Madness, he looked to be finished with Danielson. That is until Dethroned, where after successfully retaining his title against Austin Aries, Danielson would be attacked by Homicide, who demanded a rematch. Danielson wasn't willing to give him the rematch however, leading to Homicide taking matters into his own hands and calling in backup in the form of McGuinness. Danielson would eventually accept a tag match between the two, promising a big surprise for his partner. At the event, KENTA would be revealed as Danielson's tag partner to a massive fan eruption. The two would prove to be great tag partners as over the span of 19 minutes, the two would put the beatdown on their opponents. KENTA would be the one to gain the win for the team, hitting McGuinness with a GTS.
Result: KENTA and Bryan Danielson def. Homicide and Nigel McGuinness by pinfall (19:34)
Following this win, Danielson would get on the mic and announce he doesn't have an opponent for Final Battle, so tells Homicide he can have his rematch. As for KENTA, he puts his sights on McGuinness, asking him for a match at Final Battle. McGuinness says he wants fresh meat and accepts KENTA's challenge, with a warning he won't come out of the match the same man.
Final Battle 2006:
KENTA's immense popularity in ROH is voiced by the ROH fans as the Manhattan Center blows the roof off the building when he appears. McGuinness feeds into the crowd, disgracing them for cheering for an outsider rather than a man who's been there the past 2 years, wrestling at every show, hell, even being the greatest Pure Champion in history. The match doesn't have a definitive leader throughout, with both men not letting the other get the satisfaction of beating their opponent. McGuinness did appear to be on the upper hand however for a slight bit, but a Busaiku Knee changed the whole thing for him, despite getting the kickout at 2. KENTA would lead from this point on, with a GTS looking immanent, BUT MCGUINNESS MANAGES TO HIT A REBOUND LARIAT!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! McGuiness is furious as he drags KENTA's lifeless body to the corner. He prompts him up on the top turnbuckle, with the intention of a TOWER OF LONDON BUT KENTA FLIPS OVER MCGUINNESS AND PICKS HIM UP...GTS!! 1..2..3!!
Result: KENTA def. Nigel McGuinness by pinfall (29:08)
KENTA would make his presence felt in the main event, stopping Hernandez from interfering on behalf of Homicide. He would then remain firm in the corner of Danielson but it's not enough AS HOMICIDE ENDS DANIELSON'S 462 DAY TITLE REIGN!! WHAT A MOMENT IN ROH HERE!! Following this shocking loss, KENTA consoles Danielson, helping up and telling him it'll be okay. Danielson gets a standing ovation from the ROH crowd as KENTA begins to exit the ring to let Danielson have his moment but Danielson pulls him back in, wanting to celebrate with him. OR SO KENTA THOUGHT AS DANIELSON LOCKS HIM IN THE TRIANGLE CHOKE!!! Danielson starts screaming, saying its KENTA's fault he lost and it's nothing to do with him. Danielson lets go of the hold and goes to the outside, to under the ring, where he pulls out a steel chair. He then gets in the ring and places it ON KENTA'S LEG!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING DANIELSON?! Danielson stands on the second rope AND STOMPS DOWN ON THE CHAIR!! KENTA'S LEG IS DONE!! KENTA screams in pain as Danielson leaves him in the ring, embracing this newfound attitude.
KENTA would go out injured for 2 months, while Danielson's new vicious character would dominate ROH. KENTA's return would come at the Fifth Year Festival: NYC, after Danielson's victory over Takeshi Morishima. KENTA would attack Danielson, hitting him with a GTS before demanding a match, which is made official for the Fifth Year Festival in Chicago.
Fifth Year Festival: Chicago:
A match which, despite having less stakes than last time round, will guarantee to be an all time classic. Danielson's newfound heel persona and KENTA's popularity among the fans mix well as Danielson's heel heat is like no other, with the fans' boos louder than his entrance music. The crowd can also be heard chanting "FUCK YOU DANIELSON", over and over as Danielson gives them the Stone Cold treatment. The match is an absolute war, lasting almost 50 minutes with Danielson managing to kick out of 3 GTS's and KENTA managing to last over 2 minutes in the Triangle Choke. These men throw absolutely everything at each other, with submission, kicks, punches, chops and everything inbetween but it would be the fourth GTS that would put Danielson down for good.
Result: KENTA def. Bryan Danielson by pinfall (49:32)
Following this, KENTA would ask anyone to give him a match at All Star Extravaganza III which would be answered by Chris Hero.
All Star Extravaganza III:
KENTA's climb to the top continues here as he finds himself facing one of the biggest rising stars in ROH. Hero would put up a good fight for one of the biggest stars in ROH here but it wouldn't be enough as a Busaiku Knee and GTS would be what ends the match, giving KENTA another win in his quest to the top.
Result: KENTA def. Chris Hero by pinfall (14:37)
KENTA isn't able to celebrate this victory however, as DANIELSON WOULD ATTACK HIM FROM BEHIND! Danielson would begin stomping on KENTA's head before announcing he wants one more match, FIGHT WITHOUT HONOR TOMORROW AT SUPERCARD OF HONOR!! KENTA is unable to respond as Danielson doesn't allow him but it's safe to say the match is official.
Supercard of Honor 2007:
One year ago, these two men stood in the ring of the main event of Supercard of Honor with the biggest prize in the company on the line. Now, its a year later, a lot has changed, but what hasn't is the fact that both men find each other facing each other again in the main event of Supercard of Honor and despite there being no title on the line, the match feels more important than last year's. Under the stipulation of Fight Without Honor, both men absolutely tear at each other for 1 HOUR AND 6 MINUTES!! Whether it was Danielson stealing the Busaiku Knee TWICE, or KENTA hitting 3 GTS's in a row and Danielson kicking out, the Detroit crowd were absolutely fucking fed. Weapons also played a big part in this match, with Danielson smashing a steel chair over KENTA's head 10 times, causing him to be busted open, BUT KENTA RESPONDED WITH A BUSAIKU KNEE!! However, after one hour and six minutes, Danielson would lock in the Triangle Choke in the centre of the ring, with it looking like KENTA was going to pass out. HE DIDN'T HOWEVER, AND MANAGED TO POWER HIS WAY UP, PLACING DANIELSON ON HIS SHOULDERS FOR A 4TH GTS!! 1..2..3!! KENTA ENDS THE RIVALRY AND THE MATCH WITH A MASSIVE WIN!!
Result: KENTA def. Bryan Danielson by pinfall (1:06:44)
KENTA would make a brief return to Japan, before returning at Live in Osaka to announce his entry in the Race to the Top Tournament.
Race to the Top Tournament Night 1:
KENTA finds himself getting one of the worst draws possible in the tournament as he faces the previous favourite to win the tournament, Matt Sydal. Clearly the best match in the Round of 16, KENTA finds himself struggling in the beginning but gains control, carrying it throughout before sealing the win with a GTS, gaining his spot in the quarter finals.
Result: KENTA def. Matt Sydal by pinfall to advance to the quarter finals (12:10)
Race to the Top Tournament Night 2:
Into the quarter finals we go, as KENTA finds himself facing Sydal's former teammate in Generation Next, Jack Evans. Evans manages to put up a hell of a fight in this match, even coming close to winning after hitting Kenta with a 630 Senton, but KENTA somehow managed to kick out at 2. In the end, it would be that dreaded GTS that would finish the match off, with KENTA pinning Evans for the 3 to make it to the semis.
Result: KENTA def. Jack Evans by pinfall to advance to the semi-finals (18:22)

The second match of KENTA's night comes in the form of Davey Richards, who has been on a warpath as of late alongside Roderick Strong as No Remorse Cops. Richards steamrolls through KENTA in the opening minutes of the match, with a spot in the final looking dead set for him. This would change midway through the match as KENTA would use Richards' aggression against him, allowing him to control the rest of the match before finishing it off with the GTS, MEANING KENTA'S GOING TO THE FINAL!!
Result: KENTA def. Davey Richards by pinfall to advance to the finals (15:43)

After already wrestling for half an hour, KENTA shows no signs of fatigue here as he is willing to lay it all on the line for a shot at Morishima's ROH World Championship. Castagnoli found a tough way to the final, having to make his way through El Generico, Kevin Steen and Mike Quackenbush. Castagnoli and KENTA provide a spectacle for the audience over the span of 28 minutes with a technical masterclass. Near falls appeared throughout the match, with the most significant being KENTA kicking out of Castagnoli's Ricola Bomb. To finish the match, Castagnoli looked set to finish the match of after a flurry of European Uppercuts. Castagnoli would then find himself waiting in the corner for KENTA to get back to his feet. He eventually does and throws KENTA up in the air for a SWISS DEATH BUT KENTA HITS CASTAGNOLI WITH A BUSAIKU KNEE!! Castagnoli stumbles back into the ropes and bounces right onto KENTA's shoulders for THE GTS!! 1..2..3!! KENTA'S GOT A ROH WORLD TITLE MATCH!!
Result: KENTA def. Claudio Castagnoli by pinfall to win the Race to the Top Final (28:16)
Death Before Dishonor Night 2:
KENTA's rise to the top finds itself culminating here in the main event of Death Before Dishonor against fellow countryman Takeshi Morishima. Morishima is able to use his size to his advantage, overpowering KENTA in every way, displaying why he is a great champion. KENTA tries getting some offence in, kicking the champ's knees down to weaken him but this proves useless as Morishima delivers a knee to the gut which grounds KENTA. KENTA makes his way back up after this where he gets bombarded by chops from Morishima which causes him to back up into the ropes. KENTA tries to take a breather but finds himself getting tossed out of the ring by Morishima. KENTA regains his balance outside the ring as MORISHIMA COMES OUT WITH A SUICIDE DIVE!!! WHAT THE FUCK?!! Morishima then tosses KENTA back in the ring and begins to unload kicks into his back, causing KENTA to squirm into the corner. Morishima begins taunting at the booing crowd to rile them up even more as KENTA makes it back to his feet AS MORISHIMA DOES A CARTWHEEL INTO A HIP ATTACK!! KENTA is squashed as he falls forward into Morishima who picks him up for a uranage, only getting a 2 count. Morishima argues with the ref, calling it a 3 count but the ref confirms it was a 2. Morishima responds to this by kicking the head of KENTA in, before CLIMBING TO THE TOP ROPE!! WHAT IS HAPPENING?!! MORISHIMA GOES FOR THE MOONSAULT..BUT KENTA MANAGES TO DODGE IT!! MORISHIMA GETS BACK TO HIS FEET AS KENTA HITS A FISHERMAN BUSTER!! 1..KICKOUT!! HOW?! KENTA looks confused as Morishima begins to get back to his feet again. KENTA starts unloading Roundhouse Kicks onto Morishima but nothing's working as he just continues rising up. KENTA then decides to run the ropes for a BUSAIKU KNEE!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! WHAT'S IT GOING TO TAKE TO KEEP THIS MAN MOUNTAIN DOWN?!! KENTA goes to the corner as MORISHIMA IS GETTING BACK UP ALREADY!! He signals to the crowd he's looking for another Busaiku Knee AS HE RUNS AND GETS CAUGHT BY A LARIAT FROM MORISHIMA!! KENTA GOES FLYING AS MORISHIMA GETS THE COVER 1..2..KICKOUT!! Morishima slams the mat as he tells the ref to count faster. KENTA gets to his knees as Morishima throws him between his legs and picks him up FOR A KNEELING POWERBOMB!! WAIT, HE FLIPS KENTA OVER AND GOES FOR A SECOND!! HE FLIPS HIM OVER AGAIN!! OH MY GOD!! A THIRD..WAIT..KENTA WITH A HURRICANRANA!! Morishima is sent flying as Kenta regains his balance. Morishima makes it to his feet as KENTA HITS A BUSAIKU KNEE!! HE'S NOT DONE AS HE HOISTS MORISHIMA UP ON HIS SHOULDERS...GTS!!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! KENTA ISN'T DONE AS HE PICKS MORISHIMA UP ON HIS SHOULDERS AGAIN..GTS..MORISHIMA LANDS ON HIS FEET!! HE TURNS KENTA AROUND..AMAZE IMPACT!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! HOW IS KENTA SURVIVING ALL THIS?!! Morishima has had enough of the referee by now and throws him out of the ring. He then walks over to KENTA WHO HITS HIM WITH A LOW BLOW!! The crowd cheers as KENTA looks shocked by what he's done. The crowd don't care and continue chanting KENTA's name. Morishima starts making it to his feet as KENTA HITS A BUSAIKU KNEE!! HE PICKS MORISHIMA UP..GTS!!! 1..2..3!! KENTA IS THE NEW ROH WORLD CHAMPION!!! OH MY GOD!!
Result: KENTA def. Takeshi Morishima (c) to win the ROH World Championship by pinfall (15:53)
Caged Rage 2007:
KENTA's first title defense would come at the next show, Caged Rage, where he would issue an open challenge, calling himself a fighting champion. This call would be answered by Brent Albright. Albright would launch at KENTA with punches but he no-sells them and begins beating down Albright. This newfound aggressive style of wrestling bodes well with the fans, who cheer for KENTA and his stiff strikes. Albright doesn't last long in this bout as after around seven minutes of being battered, KENTA puts the final blow in with the GTS, gaining the 3 count and retaining his title.
Result: Kenta (c) def. Brent Albright by pinfall to retain the ROH World Championship
KENTA would then ask for a better challenger, to which AUSTIN ARIES ANSWERS!! KENTA tells him he's on as the match is set for Manhattan Mayhem II.
Manhattan Mayhem II:
A former ROH World Champion himself, Aries how it feels to have the company on his shoulders and he plans to take that feeling back here against KENTA tonight. KENTA's attitude has clearly changed since winning the world title, becoming a more aggressive and brutal wrestler. KENTA puts Aries through hell in this match, beating the life out of the former champ. Aries would get a bit of steam in the match, even managing to hit a 450 on KENTA but it only gave him a 2 count. At the end of the bout, KENTA found himself picking Aries up on his shoulders for the GTS, BUT ARIES ESCAPES IT!! HE PICKS HIM UP..BRAINBUSTER!! BUT KENTA GETS BACK TO HIS FEET!! Aries looks in shock as KENTA screams at him before coming at him with stiff elbows. Aries would bounce off the rope and hit a elbow but KENTA doesn't even react as HE PICKS ARIES UP..GTS!! 1..2..3!
Result: KENTA (c) def. Austin Aries to retain the ROH World Championship
Motor City Madness 2007:
The battle of the capital letter names next, CIMA would prove to be the toughest fight yet for KENTA, due to his high flying ability and technical prowess which managed to keep KENTA down for a bit. CIMA would even find himself hitting both the Meteora and Crossfire but KENTA would kick out of both at 2. After 12 minutes though, it would be the GTS that would end the bout, with KENTA blasting CIMA's head off to retain the gold.
Result: KENTA (c) def. CIMA by pinfall to retain the ROH World Championship (12:18)
Following this, KENTA would call the ROH locker room boring and said if he didn't get a worthy opponent, he'd take the title back to Japan. This would prompt Jimmy Jacobs to come out, calling his shot for the title at Honor Nation.
Honor Nation 2007:
Double J (not Slapnuts) finds himself the next potential victim to KENTA's recent terrorisation of the ROH roster. Despite this aggressive nature that KENTA carries around with himself now, he still finds himself being cheered by the ROH crowd, although its not as big as at the start of the year leading up to his title win. KENTA allows Jacobs to hit him with some offence due to his boredom against his most recent opponents. Jacobs uses this to his advantage, taking control of the bout but it doesn't last long. Jacobs sends KENTA out of the ring, with the hopes of a suicide dive, but he fails and gets caught in the ropes. KENTA is displeased with this and starts getting mad at Jacobs, slapping him in the face and kicking him in the gut. KENTA starts laying into Jacobs with stronger offence, including a massive Powerbomb for a 2 count. Kenta starts getting bored of Jacobs and decides to finish it off with a GTS, gaining the 3 count and continuing his reign of dominance over ROH.
Result: KENTA (c) def. Jimmy Jacobs by pinfall to retain the ROH World Championship (13:26)
Following this win, KENTA takes the ROH World Championship over to Japan, defending it in NOAH against the likes of Bobby Fish, Ricky Marvin and even a rematch against Takeshi Morishima. Following his victory over Morishima, KENTA would challenge THE GHC HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION MITSUHARU MISAWA TO A TITLE VS TITLE MATCH!! Misawa would accept this match, but he doesn't want the match in Japan. HE WANTS IT AT GLORY BY HONOR!! The match would be made official but it did leave confusion for the winner of the Survival of the Fittest, Chris Hero. It would then be decided that KENTA vs Hero would happen on Night 1, while Misawa vs KENTA would happen on Night 2.
Glory by Honor Night 1:
Before KENTA can get to the match of his wishes, he first has to get past the winner of the 2007 Survival of the Fittest, Chris Hero. Hero has been on a tear recently, with the fans firmly getting behind him being the next ROH World Champion, even at the expense of KENTA. The fans are beginning to sour on KENTA at this point, with the cheers once received seeming like a myth at this point. KENTA notices these cheers for Hero and starts beating the shit out of him, grounding him in the corner before pointing at him, almost as if to berate the fans for thinking that Hero is the guy and not KENTA. KENTA would continue with these beatings on Hero, garnering boos from the crowd. KENTA then flips off the crowd, confirming his heel turn as he just won't stop beating Hero up. KENTA would then pick Hero up, looking for a Falcon's Arrow, but Hero would manage to float over KENTA and hit a big neckbreaker to give him control of the match. Hero would continue with this offence for a while, with KENTA unable to get a breakthrough in the match. Hero would even manage to hit the Rolling Elbow but it only gave him a 2 count. Hero wouldn't let go of control following this, managing to score more 2 counts with a Cradle Piledriver and a Hero's Welcome. At the end of the match, KENTA did manage to gain a bit of a comeuppance, even managing to hit a Fisherman's Buster which only got a 2 count. The finish however, would come with Hero in the corner, the fans cheering his name looking to hit the CYCLONE KILL..BUT KENTA DUCKS UNDER AND RUNS TO THE TURNBUCKLE!! HERO TURNS AROUND AND MEETS A BUSAIKU KNEE!! The fans cheers quickly become somber boos as KENTA picks Hero up FOR THE GTS!! 1..2..3!! KENTA RETAINS!! IT'S GONNA BE TITLE VS TITLE TOMORROW NIGHT!!
Result: KENTA (c) def. Chris Hero by pinfall to retain the ROH World Championship (19:27)
Glory by Honor Night 2:
To end off Night 2, we have two of Japan's best with the icon Misawa, who's title reign is bordering a year, and the current ROH World Champion KENTA who's been on an absolute tear recently, dominating his opponents. The match is borderline similar to the match they actually had bar a few changes. At the end of the match however, Misawa has KENTA right where he wants him as he looks for the EMERALD FLOSION...KENTA ESCAPES THOUGH...HE BOUNCES OFF THE ROPES AND HITS A BUSAIKU KNEE!! MISAWA IS KNOCKED DOWN AS KENTA BRINGS HIM BACK TO HIS FEET...GTS!!! 1..2..3!! KENTA IS A DOUBLE CHAMPION!! KENTA HAS ENDED MISAWA'S REIGN!! THE FANS ARE PISSED!!
Result: KENTA (c) def. Mitsuharu Misawa (c) to retain the ROH World Championship and win the GHC Heavyweight Championship
KENTA then announces himself as the best wrestler in the world and plans to take the ROH title to Japan at the end of the year and never return with it. He also mentions the fact he's never been pinned or submitted in ROH, with his only loss coming at a technicality. He then says there isn't a single man in ROH that can beat him for the title. And then the music hits...ITS SAMOA JOE!! HE'S BACK IN ROH!! Joe comes to the ring to a massive cheer, with the belief that he had left ROH permanently to go to TNA. Joe says KENTA is right and that there isn't a man in ROH that can beat him, BECAUSE IT'LL BE A TNA GUY INSTEAD!! Joe challenges KENTA to a match at Reckless Abandon to see who the real best in the world is.
In the meantime, KENTA would return to Japan to defend his newly won GHC Heavyweight Championship, beating Misawa in a rematch and stopping Jun Akiyama from avenging the loss, beating him in a 45 minute classic.
Reckless Abandon 2007:
Definitely KENTA's biggest challenge yet, the greatest ROH World Champion ever returns home in an attempt to save the biggest prize in the company by taking it off the hands of KENTA, who's intentions to leave ROH at the end of the year with the World Championship are clear. Joe gets the advantage in the beginning, chopping the chest off KENTA and sticking some stiff hits to his skull. KENTA would turn the tides on Joe, hitting some stiff attacks himself, before grounding him with a Fisherman's Buster. The two would continue on with an evenly matched brutal showcase, exchanging control every few minutes while also hitting some big moves, including a Muscle Buster from Joe which KENTA managed to kick out of at 2. To end the match after 36 minutes, KENTA would find himself in a perfect situation after reversing a Uranage from Joe. Joe would become mad following this and run at KENTA who ducked under and ran the ropes himself before HITTING THE BUSAIKU KNEE!!! 1..2..3!! THE REIGN CONTINUES!!!
Result: KENTA (c) def. Samoa Joe by pinfall to retain the ROH World Championship (36:54)
KENTA then says the clock is ticking for someone to beat him, and if not, he's taking the ROH World Championship home. He asks for anyone to come out and challenge him for a match at Final Battle, and if not? Well, you know what'll happen. Kenta waits and waits, but gets no response. Just as he's about to call it quits though, NIGEL MCGUINNESS APPEARS!! HE'S NEXT FOR KENTA'S TITLE!! KENTA smirks as he knows a guy like McGuinness isn't gonna beat him for the title.
Final Battle 2007:
History finds itself repeating once again, as KENTA and McGuinness come face to face at Final Battle for the second successive year. Last time around, KENTA was one of the most loved stars in ROH, but now? He's public enemy number one. And if McGuinness doesn't win the title, they can kiss the title goodbye. McGuinness and KENTA lock up to begin the bout, with KENTA getting a headlock on McGuinness before performing a headlock takedown. McGuinness laughs as he gets back up, with KENTA laughing too. KENTA then pushes McGuinness which causes him to start unloading on him with strikes, causing him to back up into the corner. KENTA would then put his body through the ropes, preventing McGuinness from hitting him while taunting him to try and trigger a reaction. McGuinness does nothing however and waits for KENTA to get out of the ropes to continue his attacks. KENTA is sneaky about it though and as he gets back in, he ducks under McGuinness' attack and starts kicking the legs of McGuinness before delivering a Roundhouse Kick to the head, knocking McGuinness down for a 1 count. Kenta would return to the head again, keeping McGuinness in a headlock to prevent him getting back to his feet. This only works for so long as McGuinness manages to get back to his feet, tossing KENTA overboard. KENTA would then get back to his feet and charge at McGuinness who throws him around with arm drags before slamming him down with a Powerslam. McGuinness gets fired up as KENTA is on the downside here, with the fans cheering for McGuinness. McGuinness would then go the corner as KENTA gets back to his feet, which is when McGuiness goes for the JAWBREAKER LARIAT BUT KENTA DODGES!! McGuinness turns around AND GETS HIT WITH A BUSAIKU KNEE!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! A huge sigh of relief comes from the ROH fans as the title is safe. For now. KENTA is frustrated with this and begins to drop knees onto the head of McGuinness. This prompts McGuinness to sit up which allows KENTA to hit a stiff kick to the back. McGuinness rolls in pain and decides to take a breather by leaving the ring. KENTA laughs at McGuinness for this as he exits around the other side of the ring and runs around to meet McGuinness WHO HITS HIM WITH A RUNNING LARIAT!! McGuinness then picks up KENTA and throws him back in the ring where he covers him for a 2 count. McGuinness starts punching the head of KENTA which he is unable to block, causing him to be busted open. McGuinness stops to take a look at what he's done and has a grin on his face, with the fans chanting for him to not stop. McGuinness listens to them and brings KENTA to the corner where he starts laying into him with hits. He then places KENTA on the top turnbuckle and runs to the opposite corner before running back WITH A HUGE LARIAT!! KENTA slumps over as McGuinness sees his shot AND HITS THE TOWER OF LONDON!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! MCGUINNESS CAN'T BELIEVE IT!! The fans call out the ref, saying it should have been a 3 count, purely to take the title off KENTA. McGuinness then begins taunting to the crowd again in the corner as he calls for KENTA to get back to his feet. KENTA does eventually get back up as McGuinness tries again for the JAWBREAKER LARIAT BUT DOESN'T HIT IT AGAIN!! KENTA THROWS A BIG BOOT IN THE FACE OF MCGUINNESS WHICH ROCKS HIM!! KENTA then picks McGuinness up on his shoulders for a GTS BUT MCGUINNESS LANDS ON HIS FEET AND HITS KENTA WITH A CHOP TO THE THROAT!! KENTA clutches his throat as he backs up. McGuinness follows as KENTA hits him with another kick which causes him to bounce back into the ropes and hit KENTA with a lariat. KENTA doesn't go down with this, instead rocking back and hitting McGuinness with a simple slap. McGuinness gets pissed off as this and GOES FOR THE JAWBREAKER LARIAT AGAIN BUT KENTA DUCKS AGAIN AND HITS A QUICK SNAP GERMAN SUPLEX!! McGuinness rolls back as KENTA kicks him in the gut and picks him up on his shoulders for a BUCKLE BOMB!! MCGUINNESS BOUNCES OFF THE TURNBUCKLE AND ONTO THE SHOULDERS OF KENTA FOR A GTS!!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! KENTA is starting to get pissed off at McGuinness and LOCKS HIM IN THE STFU!! McGuinness crawls around trying to find an escape but he's trapped in the middle of the ring. KENTA keeps applying pressure but McGuinness is able to get his hand up and begins punching the head of KENTA again. KENTA is forced to release as he backs up to take a quick breather. When he turns around however, MCGUINNESS MEETS HIM WITH A JAWBREAKER LARIAT!!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! WHY WON'T KENTA STAY DOWN?!! McGuinness doesn't even wait for a second after the kickout, instead going straight to the LONDON DUNGEON!! KENTA HAS NOWHERE TO GO!! KENTA begins crawling BUT MCGUINNESS PULLS HIM RIGHT BACK TO THE CENTRE!! Over a minute goes by and KENTA is still in the submission, battered and bloodied in this war as he looks to be fading. That is until he gets one last burst of energy to scrape his way to the ropes, keeping himself in the match. McGuinness is done with this match though, and lines KENTA up for ANOTHER JAWBREAKER LARIAT!! HE'S NOT DONE AS HE PICKS KENTA UP..AND ANOTHER JAWBREAKER LARIAT!! McGuinness takes one more look at KENTA as he PICKS HIM UP AGAIN FOR A THIRD JAWBREAKER LARIAT!! 1..2..3!! NIGEL MCGUINNESS HAS PINNED KENTA!!! HE'S THE NEW ROH WORLD CHAMPION!!!
Result: Nigel McGuinness def. KENTA (c) by pinfall to win the ROH World Championship (31:46)
Epilogue:
This would mark the end of KENTA's ROH run, as he would would return to NOAH and remain dominant as GHC Heavyweight Champion until September of 2008, when he would lose the belt to Kensuke Sasaki. This would not be his final appearance in ROH however, as he would wrestle 2 more matches for the company, one in a win against Danielson during his farewell tour and his final match against Tyler Black which ended as a loss, putting a full stop on the ROH career of KENTA.
So, in the span of 2 years, KENTA went from the biggest babyface in ROH, before making his eventual rise to the top, winning the ROH Championship in a controversial fashion, which caused a new person to appear, a more ruthless and dominant man who threatened to take the title away from ROH to Japan, becoming the biggest heel in ROH in the process but luckily for ROH, on the last night of the year Captain McGuinness would come to the rescue and save the company and their main title, sending KENTA packing in the process.

2022.12.12 06:48 OutcomeOk3779 chanceme! desperate asian female shooting her shot at ivies & T15s as a BME + french major

HI YALLL so im not tryna be stalked (i prob will) so i’ll remove some details from my post but yeaaa
Anyways pls be very brutally honest, tysm :D
Demographics: Female, Southeast Asian (proud singaporean & hong konger! anyone else?) I go to a competitive public high school in the the Bay Area (yes classic asian moment)
Hooks/How I can kinda stand out..? US Figure Skating Gold Medalist (not the Olympics, but i got the gold medal for USFSA’s Senior MITF) im a competitive snowboarder and skier giant slalom racerYes i like winter sports
Applied as: Biomedical Engineering (chose bioengineering if BME wasn’t an option), and I indicated that I wanted to minor in French language and culture.
SAT: 1530 (one sitting)
GPA and Rank: 3.91 UW, 4.3 W, school doesn’t rank but I assume top 5-7%? My grades lwk sucked in sophomore yr so that dragged my weighted gpa down
Coursework: Total of 12 APs including senior year, 3-4 honors
AP Scores: Currently taking 5 APs senior year (kms), got a mix of 5s and 4s for previous AP exams..
Awards: (didn’t have a lot of academic ones lol)
  1. National Honorable Mention in Aspirations in Computing AwardAwarded by: National Center for Women & Information Technology
  2. 2022 Northern California WinnerAwarded by: National Center for Women & Information Technology
  3. US Figure Skating Gold Medal
  4. ABRSM Level 8: Piano and Violin
  5. Gold Medal: Giant Slalom Snowboard Racing
  6. Silver Medal: Giant Slalom Ski Racing (yes i'm lwk worse at skiing lmfao)
  7. Random College Board Recognitions like AP Scholar with Distinction whatever
  8. Basic stuff like PVSA and NHS lol
Extracurriculars:
Essays/LORs/Interview:
Im fully aware that my stats and ap scores are bit below avg for t10s and ivies so i knew my essays would be my only saving grace here so i kinda put a lot of effort in my essays LMAO
My common app was abt my experience as a figure skater and somehow connected it to research.
For supplements, or why majors, I wrote about how my brother grew up with 20+ allergies and I would always take care of him => learned to use epipens when I was only 5 => interest in medical devices => wanted to improve medical devices => BME summer research program => interest biomedical engineering.
I also highlighted another thing kinda unique abt me ig? I wrote about my interest in languages (I speak 4 and am learning 2 others).
I took a unique twist to this essay by writing about my experiences growing up in a multilingual community with clashing cultures. I spent 1 year in Hong Kong, 2 years in Belgium where I was the only asian within a 50 mile radius, and then I came back to the bay area where my whole school is asian.
This essay was mostly used for the “intellectual vitality” or “describe your community you come from” or “describe ur culture” type of questions.
LORs:
Teachers: (~8/10?) not rly sure but i think they’lljust be alright. I go to a big school so my counselor barely knows me, so it’ll prob be a basic standard letter. Also, i go to a public school so teachers dont give a shit abt writing good letters soooo uh i think they’ll just be mid LOL
Research Mentor: (10/10) I had my Stanford research mentor write one so I think that’ll probably be the only good letter. I was very close to her and I feel like she really got to know me and how I work. (my only hope lmfao)
Interview:
(-10/10): I did REA to Princeton and holy shit my interview went TERRIBLE. Not even joking, the alumni interviewing me seemed like she rather be sleeping than talking to be (i feel you) but seriously I felt like I was gonna cry near the end of the interview since it was so awkward and she sounded so tired and I felt like I just annoyed her the whole time. whatever.
Schools:
Early
Princeton (REA) help it’s literally coming out in less than a week i’m gonna cry
Purdue (EA)
Georgia Tech (EA2)
Umich (EA)
UIUC (EA)

Regular
HYPSM (except Princeton bc I earlied there)
Columbia
Cornell
USC
CMU
Caltech
JHU
Northwestern
UC Berkeley, LA, SD, Davis
CSUs like Cal Poly (safeties)
Duke

THANK YOU SO MUCHH!!! Please be very very very harsh and brutally honest because I need to wake up to reality. My princeton decision is literally coming out in less than a week and I feel like I’m gonna shit myself just thinking abt it. i have finals on the day Pton comes out and im lwk just expecting a rejection. I’m gonna be more surprised if they accepted me since my interview went so terribly.
I’ll keep yall updated and good luck with everything :D
edit: grammar lmfao

2022.11.13 22:14 SofaAssassin Nagano-Niigata Blitz Trip Report

Recently, I was in Japan for about 6 weeks, and at the end of October, I did a 3-day trip to Nagano and Niigata. I decided to do this a day before I actually went, and I wasn’t really in either place to do normal stuff - I didn’t go to ryokan or onsen or Jigokudani in Nagano, for example. Instead, I really wanted to go to Niigata because one of my favorite bands, Polkadot Stingray, was playing a concert there on the 29th.
A short trip like this isn't for everyone, but I've been to Japan many times over the last decade, so I don't mind really short trips in places, both to get a sense of them without committing a lot of time, and because I don't need to see a lot of "normal" things.

Day 0 - October 27 - The JR East Nagano-Niigata Pass

I decided to go last minute and booked my hotels and get the JR East Nagano/Niigata pass.
This pass is 18000 yen and is really easy to purchase. Like all special JR Passes now, it’s a paper ticket that can be used with automated gates. I tried using the special JR Pass vending machines you can find inside Midori no Madoguchi offices, which require you to scan a non-Japanese passport and allows you to buy special passes like the JR East and Tokyo Wide Pass.
However, I had to switch to buying the pass directly from a station employee because I forgot that the ticket/pass machines require credit cards with a PIN set on them, and I didn’t have enough cash to cover the pass.

Day 1 - Friday/October 28 - Nagano

Took a 90 minute morning Shinkansen from Ueno Station to Nagano Station. The train was completely packed the entire way.

Nagano (the city)

I don’t think many people typically stay or look around the actual city because most of the stuff visitors go to (Jigokudani, ski resorts, onsen) are usually 30-40 km away from the city center. The city itself is very walkable, and served by some buses and a subway line (Nagano Dentetsu) that makes a few stops inside the city and goes out to Yudanaka.
The weather was perfect the day I showed up, like 40-50F, and blue, mostly clear skies.

Zenkoji Temple

I’m a big shrine/temple person, and this is the big one in the area (built sometime in the 600s). I walked the 2 km here from the Nagano Station, and the road leading to it has a statue commemorating the 1998 Winter Olympics, as well as coffee shops and a store dedicated to selling goshuincho. Once you get closer to the temple, there’s a shopping street with various restaurants and souvenir shops.
The temple was lovely and quite busy for a Friday afternoon. Since Nagano is located in the mountains, you get lovely views of them from anywhere on the temple grounds.
The temple complex is rather large, and the main building has a dark, underground passage you can go into (for a fee) to search for the “key of salvation,” which is a key attached to a wall in the passageway.
The temple also loves daruma, so they sell them in various sizes and colors (the different colors represent different things like love, luck, business success, health, etc.).
For the goshuin lovers out there, they were doing a special one during this time, the gyūshuin. Yes, I can hear the groans out there now.

Chausuyama Zoo

It was early afternoon and I decided to go to the zoo because they have a number of red pandas (my favorite animal) and I found out from Instagram that the zoo was in the area.
Getting to the zoo required taking the train from Nagano to Shinonoi, and then a 15 minute taxi ride from the station to halfway up Chausuyama.
Entrance was 600 yen, and if you’re not a zoo person, I would say this zoo is probably going to make you even less of a zoo person. Some of the animals were kept in much smaller confines than is typical for such animals (especially tigers and lions) - I was a little saddened at that.
The zoo does have 15 red pandas, including 2 twins born earlier this year. One red panda was doing a lot of tree climbing.

Chausuyama Hike

Remember how I took a taxi to the top of a mountain? Well…the zoo doesn’t have a taxi stand. It does have an infrequent bus that goes down the mountain, but I didn’t want to wait around or bother to call a cab. So…I decided to take the hike down the mountain path, which was probably an ill-advised venture, since it’s an active driving road with no shoulder or pedestrian walkways, but it had great views! Not pictured were the many apple orchards I walked by as Chausuyama has tons of them and they all looked like they were getting just about ripe for picking.
Overall a fun walk but there were multiple blind curves I had to rush a little on because I knew cars hit them at full speed.

Hotel and Eats

  • Coffee - Foret Coffee on the way to Zenkoji. Chill place, decent Americano.
  • For lunch, I had really good soba at Daimaru / 大丸, near Zenkoji. It was shinshu soba (信州そば), which is 80% soba/20% flour, using newly harvested buckwheat. Nice chew, and sweeter-tasting noodles and tsuyu than I’ve had elsewhere - Nagano foods and fruits actually tended to be a little sweeter tasting than what I’m used to from other places in Japan.
  • For dinner, had miso ramen (also a Nagano specialty) at Misoya, and then had some local wagyu and Nagano red wine at a restaurant whose name I forget. Everything was pretty good.
  • I stayed at the Hotel Abest Nagano Station. It was slim pickings since I booked on such short notice - it was a serviceable hotel but was rather old and rundown, like the enameling on my bathroom sink was peeling and the hotel still used physical keys for rooms. I’d say it was the ‘worst’ hotel I’ve ever stayed in anywhere in Japan.

Day 2 - Saturday/October 29 - Nagano -> Niigata

I caught an early morning train (about 7 AM) from Nagano to Takasaki, and then transferred to the Joetsu Shinkansen to Niigata. Overall time was about 3 hours since I had to wait about 40 minutes for the train at Takasaki, so I used that time to eat breakfast and look at the omiyage store inside the train station. And they have a big statue of Gunma-chan and a Daruma inside the Shinkansen gates. The train to Niigata was completely full.

Niigata (the city)

Just like with Nagano, Niigata is not a city that I expect many visitors normally stay in, because most of the attractions are about an hour or more outside of the city.
The city itself is quite nice, it’s not super crowded, and it was a pleasant place to walk around. I hit up the Bandai shopping district, walked across the river, walked around Furumachi, and just ventured around the city since I was time-constrained by the concert. There was a local food festival being held in the Bandai shopping area (in a shopping mall), though I was unfortunately not hungry enough to eat anything at that time.
One thing I noticed was the city was quite lacking in English - maybe I didn’t look for it but wherever I went and whoever I spoke to, I had to use far more of my Japanese than I normally do.

Ponshukan

website: https://www.ponshukan.com/
Niigata prefecture produces the most rice in Japan, and they also have the highest number of sake brewers in the country. The Ponshukan is a giant store that sells hundreds of different types of sake, and they have this great tasting area with 100+ different sake from various brewers in the prefecture available to taste. You paid 500 yen for 5 tokens, and you got a little cup you could put into a machine and get a sip of wine. Had some really interesting sake like the ones in the picture.
There are multiple Ponshukan, but I went to the one located in Niigata station.

Polkadot Stingray Concert (FM Niigata Lots live house)

Inside the concert hall!
I actually didn’t have a ticket for this concert - buying the concert ticket ahead of time required a Japanese phone number because the ticket was digitally issued, but I knew they would have a small number of same-day tickets. What I didn’t know was that even though the doors opened at 5 PM, they wouldn’t do same-day tickets until all ticket holders were let in. There were 350 ticket holders total (the show was sold out), and it took about 50 minutes for them to get everyone in because each ticket was numbered 1 to 350, and people were called up in order.
The concert was fantastic - even though I was one of the last people into the live house, it was still just 360 or so people with the same-day ticket holders, and I was about 30 feet from the stage - the view and audio setup were great. I love Japanese concerts like this because it was a two-hour show with just the band (no openers), and everything started on time.

Hotel and Eats

  • Coffee - I had some really good coffee and baked goods at dAb Coffee Store. Was actually quite surprising.
  • Food - I ate a lot of the local noodle specialty: hegi soba. Very good chew - they apparently put ground seaweed into the noodle so they have a greenish hue. I ate at the two locations of Kojimaya.
  • Sake - had a lot of sake. Had a lot of Hakkaisan, and tasted multiple things at Ponshukan.
  • Hotel - I stayed at the Hotel JR Mets, which is in Niigata Station. I really liked this hotel, it had nice rooms, and was directly connected to the Ponshukan. The staff here actually didn’t speak any English so I had to use Japanese for everything.

Day 3 - Sunday/October 30 - Yahiko

Yahiko is a village about an hour away from Niigata city, famous for onsen and a giant shrine complex.

Getting There

I’m pointing this out specifically because getting to Yahiko by train was funny. When I told my wife I was going to take the day trip there, she texted me and said “Isn’t that really far from Niigata?” and Google Maps told me “2.5 hours” from Niigata City.
So I took the Shinkansen from Niigata to Tsubamesanjo (only an infrequent local Shinkansen goes here so I had to time that). Once at Tsubamesanjo, you have to switch to the Yahiko Line, and there was a train waiting at the platform so I quickly got on it and 10 minutes later, I was at Kita Sanjo…which is in the opposite direction.
I got off the train and noticed that the entire train line is a single track, and one train goes back and forth the entire line. I asked the station master when the next train to Yahiko was, and he told me it was 12:13 PM, over an hour away.
The area around Kita Sanjo has a metallurgy museum, as the town is one of the leading iron works in Japan.

Yahiko (for real)

It took about 40 minutes to get to Yahiko Station, which is designed to look like a shrine.
It was reminiscent of other small villages/onsen town - basically some main roads and a lot of places selling local souvenirs, like “onsen manjuu” (red bean buns made with spring water).

Yahiko Shrine

Getting to the shrine involves walking through a large park, which was pretty crowded as many tourists were there on day trips like I was.
The shrine itself was lovely, with the picturesque entrance, and it was celebrating the first rice harvest of the season, which included displaying things like various chrysanthemum.
The shrine was also extremely busy and crowded from all the day trippers and also because many people were bringing their children to celebrate Shichigosan (7-5-3).
One of the funnier things I saw (and did) was the “rock lifting.” Near one of the shrine entrances there was a line of people waiting to lift rocks (rocks aren’t pictured). Basically, there were two rocks - one heavy, one light, and people took turns lifting each one for luck. Most people could not lift the heavy rock, and even a decent number couldn’t lift the light rock. The light rock was about 15-20 pounds, the heavy rock was probably 30-40 pounds, but some people were really struggling with these.

Return to Ueno

I got back to Tsubamesanjo around 5:30 PM and took the Joetsu Shinkansen back to Ueno, which was also almost completely full.

Summary and Dumb Stats

I did really enjoy my time in both cities and will be back. One of the things I didn't do was eat blueberry pizza, a weird specialty in some far off restaurant of Nagano that one of my friends keeps urging me to go to (she typically spends her summers in Nagano).
  • Total Shinkansen Fares (without JR East Pass): 32810 yen
  • Soba eaten: 1.5 kg
  • Sake drank: Not Enough
  • Number of Shinkansen reservations canceled: 2 (I changed my return time to Ueno multiple times)
