Vinfast signed a lease with the Stanford Shopping center in San Francisco to lease a portion of the mall (3000 sqf) for a showroom on March 11, 2022 for a 7-year lease starting March 31, 2023. This lease was guaranteed by Vingroup. The rate is $67.5/sqf or $202,500 / year ($16,875/month) + operating cost of about $104K / year.

On May 1, 2023, Vinfast stopped paying rent. On April 26, 2024, the owner sent a notice to Vinfast to pay the rent due and have three days to do so from the date of receipt. On May 1, 2024, the notice expired. On May 15, the owner sued Vinfast.

As far as I know, Vinfast abandoned the Stanford Shopping Mall in May 1, 2023 after 2 months and stopped paying rent from May 1, 2023. There is no Vinfast store there ever. Probably the owner just left the space empty there since then and now sue Vinfast to collect the owed money, according to the contract.

This story tells the way Vinfast is doing business: f*ck partners and vendors. Just don’t pay due rent. Like what they did in Vietnam: some contractors are owed for a year or more.
They blatantly forwent a monthly rental of just about $25K / month. If they want to get out of the lease, they need to negotiate with the owner. That is the way Americans are doing business. Instead, he simply did not pay, Vietnamese style, ignoring the laws.
Is this the behavior of a billion dollar company? Not. The billion dollar market cap is a number pumped by Vuong Pham, and in reality, Vinfast’s business practice is despicable, in addition to having no money.

Well, in America, they get sued. And they will lose. With all the evidence. And the loser will have to pay the lawyer fee for the winner as well. I hope they have a trial by jury to slap additional punitive damage on Vinfast for bad behaviors. The owed money is only $355K but the punitive damage can be $10M+ depending on the jury. Vuong Pham has no idea of this trial by jury practice in America.
The lesson is: Vinfast is shady. Do not do business with Vuong Pham. He cheated customers, vendors, partners, investors multiple times. Vingroup's guarantee is as good as a toilet paper.
I hope Clayco can get the money Vinfast owed them (likely Vinfast owed Clayco money too, with the purposely pending project).
Many people are being duped by the title “billionaire Vuong Pham” and the biggest company in Vietnam “Vingroup” (no longer true), so share and spread this news to prevent other American companies from falling for Vuong Pham’s tricks in the future.
American companies should stop doing business with Vinfast ASAP.

I'm doing some research on which jobs come with unusual or unique perks, beyond the usual PTO, health benefits, 10% employee discount, etc.
For example, Mall of America employees can get 1 unlimited ticket for the theme park each day, and get a bunch of extra tickets to give away each quarter. They can also get free birthday parties for their kids at the theme park or Crayola, and a ~$600 gift basket to donate to a nonprofit of their choice.
Best Buy corporate employees can shop at a yearly sample sale, where lots of random products are available for purchase at a steep discount.

Wife and I are going to see the Falcons game this year and we are super excited! Flights, hotels, and tickets all booked. Our hotel is supposedly part of the skyway system, but in any case it’s only a 1/2 mile walk or so.
For those of you in Minneapolis/have more experience than me, would it be better to rent a car or rely on ridesharing? The main reason I ask is because I know a micro center will be built in the mall as well. They even announced it themselves. But micro centers announcement was vague when they would open because I’d imagine it’s dependent on the malls remodel it,s current going through. All that to say this is a monster of the week game that will follow a party of explorers who wish to take out the Mad Manipulator. As the Mall was connected to a fantasy realm before ending up in the moral modern day there are many fantasy races around as well so those are on the table, if you want any abilities based on a fantasy monster race, you will have to take the Monsteras Sheet.
The vibes and aesthetics are that of the late 90s and early 2000s as the Mall appeared in the early 90s and slowed the world's progress as many things we're destroyed and had to be rebuilt. The Mall has a very normal with a fantasy lean look on the first 5 floors but after that it begins devolving into a dungeon looking space and beyond that it gets very liminal and BackRooms-esce with one one or two highly dangerous enemies but a large space to hide and seek through.

I hope this is okay to post, my best friend and I went to Pattaya for a week from America last week.
On soi 6 I meet a girl at the bar, typical experience, BUT she pays OWN bar fine and everything else. That night she pays for bolt back to my hotel, and takes me out to eat the next day. She refuses to let me spend any money.
I think nothing of it till the next night I message her at 3am and she is at Lucifer’s the club, I meet her there and we go back to my hotel.
The next 3 days she spent wholly with me, we went to the central mall and everything in between, she bought me roughly around 20K baht worth of gifts and tourist crap for my family. She stayed at the hotel and walked me out to my bolt to the airport until 1am when I left.
My friend was shocked she was still there and I was as well at 1am tried asking her why she was being so nice to me but she never did give me a straight answer besides she’s trying to not being so selfish. She was a very cute girl and seemed so genuine. She didn’t let me pay ANY money for the interactions. So now Reddit I ask you to help my friend and I make sense of what this means. She has messaged me some and we’ve talked since I got back home. Is this another stereotype love story or what??? Again I paid absolutely zero money for anything.

It’s been a couple of years since I’ve been to the twin cities. The last time I went was in February of 2022, and while it was really cold my fiancée (then girlfriend) and I stayed at a hotel across from the mall of America, and we obviously went to MOA, also went to the Art museum, and saw the frozen Minnehaha falls, and the statue of Mary Tyler Moore and also the building from the opening scene of her show.
This time we’re coming over Memorial Day weekend from Wisconsin and bringing a friend along with us. We’re staying again at a hotel across the street from MOA, but a different one from last time. One thing that I love about MN, is that most clothing is not taxable, and since we both love to shop, it’ll hopefully be a great time to buy some clothes. My question is what are some clothing that isn’t and is taxable? I know jeans aren’t which is something we’ll probably be buying, but are like lululemon leggings taxed or not? What about bras, panties, and lingerie, and swimwear? How about electronics, laptops and iPads? Is there a good source that has a bunch of things listed? In Wisconsin our sales tax is usually 5.5%, what are some things I’d be better off buying in MN, vs WI?
Also with the warmer weather, things will be more walkable, and comfortable outdoors what are some things that we should do? We’ll probably go see the minnehaha falls again since they’ll be flowing. We’re all over the age of 21, and open to just about everything, but the cheaper (or free) the better. Thanks, we excited to visit!

I'm thinking about getting the National Park pass so that I can go to many of the attractions along this trip. Other interests include breweries and good eats!

I'm not referring to builds & perks, I'm referring to your jumper's spending habits in-jump. I'm honestly just curious, because I tend to think of jumpers as real people and real people spend money on stuff.
It's pretty easy for the RIGHT kind of jumper to not need to spend money on anything. I have a jumper, Lucas, who if not for the stipulations of Generic Cubicle, could easily fuck off into the woods and never buy anything for the rest of the jump. He has Gamer Body & HP System from Generic Gamer so his bodily needs are non-existent (though he still needs to breathe), so if not for Generic Cubicle's whole deal he'd easily be able to vibe in nature and never spend another dollar. He will buy things, he only has the free tier of the apartment item so he needs to spruce it up.
What my jumpers tend to buy usually depends on how self-insert-y they are. My more self-insert jumpers (which tend to be my ones that begin their chains physically disabled), tend to buy one particular thing over and over (until they get it fiat-backed somehow): The House in Alfama (more specifically a copy of it that we just place elsewhere).
So The House in Aflama is a famous, though not purposefully so, liminal space house in Alfama Portugal. If you're a liminal space fan you've PROBABLY seen pictures of it. It's above and beyond my favorite house in the world, and is a pretty generic architectural project, a renovation of a much older building, by Matos Gameiro Arquitectos. It may shock you to learn that I have an affinity for water and water spaces. I spent several of my formative years in a house with a pool and it was very nice, and after I was a disabling car crash water being put on my knee was one of the few ways I could lower the passive pain I was in. So I like this house. I promise it IS a house, not just a big set of connected waterways, but the waterways HELP and my jumpers tend to quickly become aquatic so they always appreciate a good home that lets them flex their odder mobility things. I'm also JUST partial to European & South & Central American architecture, I was raised in South & Central America so the style of homes feels familiar to me.
My jumpers also tend to just like liminal areas. They tend to have mobility STUFF in general, be it teleportation or speed, or abilities just in the SPHERE of motion, so having spaces like that is good for them. It helps them relax. I've had jumpers who will sometimes buy abandoned malls and stuff and just hang out in them. They use some of the areas as stuff like homeless shelters or other such things, but they just love the vibe of abandoned malls and will relax in them like some sort of multiversal creepypasta character.
I also like diners and my jumpers tend to buy them when they have money they can just throw around. Oh and cabins, in woods. I usually just get a Cabin in the Woods item when my jumpers CAN, but that isn't always fast. My jumpers don't tend to value money very much, or even USE it all that often aside from in the context of the things I just mentioned.

As Trump Began his inaugural address, the camera panned to a distraught liberal in a green jacket, who seemed to be channeling every melodramatic performance from Shakespeare to soap operas. On her knees, she clutched a tissue as if it were the last hope of the republic, her tears threatening to flood the entire National Mall. This crying liberal was the internationally televised, real-time realization that everything they thought was certain was a complete lie. “NOOOO!!!” She screeched in pain and agony — a screech that resembled that of an exorcism, an exorcism of the mind virus, the devil leaving her soul. It was as if she had just realized that “Make America Great Again” didn’t come with a complimentary therapy session. The Green Jacket might as well have been a beacon for the tears of the liberal spirit, while Trump unaware of the emotional turmoil he was causing, continued with his speech, blissfully igniting Twitter storms and triggering existential crises across the nation.

Hey Wastelanders and Wanderers! I'm planning a Fallout Campaign set in The Midwest (Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, and and Upper Penninsula of Michigan) and I need some inspiration for factions, locations, and local flavor. Here are some things that I've come up with:

1. The dominant faction in the region is The Guardian Brotherhood, a splinter group of The Brotherhood of Steel centered in Chicago. They've more or less abandoned their original mandate of collecting and preserving technology. Instead their focus is defending the settlements in the area. They aren't a government like The NCR, though. They're more of a military organization that protects settlements in exchange for monthly tribute. Communities under their protection are allowed to more or less govern themselves as long as they abide by certain rules (no slavery for instance). Any settlement that refuses to align with them is left to its own devices. Most The group is also more inclusive than the main Brotherhood and allows ghouls and super mutants into their ranks. The main Brotherhood has become aware of their existence and Elder Maxson has sent a battalion of troops into the area to try and bring them back into the fold.
   
2. The Enclave has a presence in the region. After their defeat in The Capitol Wasteland, the remaining forces retreated and settled on Isle Royale, in the middle of Lake Superior. They went to war against The Guardian Brotherhood and lost. Since then, a tenuous peace exists. The Enclave controls the entire UP and the south shore of Lake Superior. Their new nation is called Eden and is the closest Post-War America has gotten to how things were before the bombs dropped.
   
3. Refugees coming all the way from The Mojave Wasteland have begun to also settle the area. I've taken inspiration from The Dust mod for New Vegas and have decided that the Mojave has become the most inhospitable region in The Wasteland. The red clouds from the Sierra Madre and the radioactive dust storms from The Divide, as well as a hoard of Tunnelers have devastated the region.
   
4. One of the local groups of fanatics are The Cheeseheads, a cult fiercely devoted to The Green Bay Packers. However, most of the information they have about them has either been romanticized, downright made up, or misrepresented, like how that one guy in Diamond City talks about baseball.
   
5. Cryptids like The Beast of Bray Road and The Hodag stalk parts of Wisconsin.
   
6. The Mall of America in Minnesota is now just known as The MOA and is a hotly contested area. Areas of the site are controlled by communities of settlers, raider gangs, and mutated sea life from the old aquarium. And in the center are the remains of Nuka-World North.

Pao is just so exhausting. So selfish. Just awful. It really sealed the deal for me when she was in Miami and she said "im not even thinking about Oklahoma, I'm enjoying myself!" Now don't get me wrong, Oklahoma is not the place to live if you're interested in partying and clubbing and living the exciting life, but it's a whole other thing if you're married and your husband lives there. And also the way that she just shot down the idea of Seattle when he called, because she just had her mind and heart set on Miami. As if no other place in the United States of America has anything similar to what she's looking for. In my opinion, they had no similarities, I have no idea how they got together in the first place, and they both would be better off away from each other. Also, I mean don't get me wrong she is beautiful, but modeling is not exactly the career to pursue when you're in your 30s. Is that a crappy fact? Absolutely. Also, that agent she met was an absolute scammer. The fact that she said all of her girls work with "top photographers" lol!! Girl, it looked like your business was in a strip mall. Give me a break. Let's talk about Danielle! I'm more up to date on her. These supposed friends that she has are absolutely using her for fame. You can tell that they put her in awkward and embarrassing situations just for their own entertainment. It's really sad. I do not believe for one second that they actually care about her or want to be her friend, I believe that they want to be famous.
