RANT WARNING
Now I’ve run both lists a decent amount, and have actually seen a lot of success from List 2, but what baffles me is how high legend players are getting a winrate higher than 50% on list 1.
List 2 has ramp (2 drop), decent tempo (nestmatron), and a clean anti-aggro tool (Fye). You have a lot of ways to win the game, like hitting owl or eonar with dorian, hitting nestmatron or cover artist with dorian, and even just winning with the traditional spell damage wincon, which there is a sufficient amount of. It all fits together decently nicely for a standard format combo deck. The location plus phials alone can steal games from painlock, but aside from that it does suffer from tall boards. Against any slower deck though it feels quite strong.
Now onto List 1. I cannot make this shit ass list work for the life of me. It feels insanely high rolly. If you dont get dorian/oaken into a discover on curve or earlier you insta lose. The deck doesn’t have any resources to deal with any kind of board pressure, and even if you get lucky enough to face a slower deck, if you whiff on dorian/oak/discover or you draw owl/eonar before getting to dorian, you are unequivocally cooked. The late game strategy is so god awfully weak, and all for a small chance to go off on turn 7 or colifero off eonar for a board of owls once every 40 games? I feel like Im being baited by deck sharing sites. Like “here have this deck that will lower your wr by 40%”. There is no way people are climbing in high legend with this. I’ve seen two high legend players post this deck, and it this point I’m thinking they are in on some sick joke. This might be a worse combo deck than obelisk warlock. Idek what to say. If anyone could explain how it’s supposed to work beyond funny hehe highroll every 1/5 games or have replays of you winning with it vs actual decks and players after whiffing the highroll, I would really appreciate it. I just need to know that Im not insane and this deck isn’t bait. Id honestly rather it be a skill issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.

This project began when someone on Reddit asked about the export speed of Rekordbox 7 compared to Rekordbox 6, prompting the entire initiative. My intention is not to "blame" or "shame" any company or its products. I approached these tests with an unbiased, open mind, taking great care to provide a level playing field for all tests conducted. This report reflects my impartial findings.

Introduction:
Welcome to the real world Rekordbox 6/7 speed comparison test on macOS 2024.
When I began these tests, my initial goal was to quickly compare the speed difference between Rekordbox 6 and Rekordbox 7 on an Apple ARM computer for tasks that are notoriously slow, such as opening, exporting to USB, and analysis. I used my personal, extensive track collection for these tests. Due to unexpected results, I expanded the test to include several other macOS computers. As a reference, I decided to include Algoriddim djay Pro 5, the most optimized DJ software for macOS, and Serato, the second most popular DJ software on macOS.
Mandatory Rekordbox 7 analysis when exporting to USB
When I initiated the tests, the measured export times from Rekordbox 7 to USB were unreasonably long. Similar reports poured in from users of my applications in various settings. Identifying the cause of this sluggishness swiftly became my top priority. It turned out that Rekordbox 7's export process necessitated the analysis of tracks by RB7, even if those tracks were already fully analyzed in Rekordbox 6.8.5. When an artist updates from Rekordbox 6 to Rekordbox 7, RB7 silently analyzes the tracks before exporting, leading to excessively prolonged export times. Fortunately, RB7 analysis is a one-time requirement per track and can be manually initiated at times that its more convenient then minutes before a gig. Note: for the tasks that were tested, none of the DJ softwares utilizes the GPU
Test conditions
I aimed to standardize all test conditions as much as possible, including:

• Data for collection was stored on the internal drive, the audio files were stored on external storage.
• Each test used the exact same external drives, connected to the computer over USB-C, using the same cables.
• All collection data was identical across all systems, synchronized using Carbon Copy Cloner before the test.
• All computers were freshly rebooted prior to the test, with the "open windows from previous session" option disabled.
• No other applications were open besides an on-screen stopwatch.
• Wi-Fi was disabled, and network cables were disconnected.
• No screen capture applications were used; all video recording was done externally to avoid occupying system resources from the test.
• Between the various exports in a single test run, the export drive was not formatted (so each of the 3 exports added to the previous). Only after a full export run (sync1, sync2 and sync3) on a given computer, the drive was reformatted.
• The partitioning scheme used in both FAT32 and HFS (=macOS Extended journaled) was Master Boot Record.
• Analysis in Rekordbox was only performed for "Phrase" to maintain the converted Mixed in Key/Traktor values. Analysis requires at least one option to be checked, all other options (BPM/Grid, key etc) were disabled.
• In Serato DJ Pro analysis for BPM and Key were disabled
• In Rekordbox, the Sync Manager was enabled to synchronize all playlists from iTunes, ensuring the sync was up-to-date with no changes made to the iTunes collection during the test.
• All test playlists originate from iTunes and were accessed through the iTunes section of the DJ software.
• All (116.747) tracks from iTunes had been pre-analyzed in: Rekordbox 6, Serato, and djay Pro 5. In other words, the DJ software had a real and big collection of tracks. Since djay Pro 5 does not re-analyze already analyzed audio files, all djay analysis data was deleted from the system before running the analysis tests.
• Because iTunes sync can not be disabled in djay Pro, the values used for startup without iTunes are the same values from the test run with iTunes sync enabled.

Fault tolerance:
During computer speed testing, achieving 100% identical situations is unfeasible due to the unpredictable consumption of system resources by various OS-related operations. I estimate the fault tolerance in the measured times to be around 5%.

Important conclusions and findings from these tests:

• Rekordbox 7 on macOS is not multithreading when it comes to analysis, hence the spikes in the tests. On Windows Rekordbox 7 utilizes all available CPU cores. Rekordbox 6.8.5 is also multithreading.
• Export to an HFS formatted USB is faster than a FAT32 formatted, especially after consecutive exports.
• Disabling iTunes integration in the SyncManager can improve startup times of Rekordbox considerably. Disabling iTunes sync can cause issues with exported USBs that were originally created using the SyncManager.
• Rekordbox 7 has a bug, where custom/edited BPM/Grids can be overwritten with mandatory analysis. Even when the BPM/Grid analysis is disabled!
• Export to USB using the SyncManager still shows 2 progress bars, where export through right click -> export only shows 1

Hello everybody, I’m having trouble with video stuttering when my PC is connected to the AVR.
My set up goes as follows : PC -> AVR -> TV through HDMI
PC specs : nowadays CPU (no iGPU), nvme and Mobo with a RTX3050 and a fresh windows 11 installation. Every driver is kept updated asap. I use it with YouTube (Firefox), Stremio and Kodi. No particular setting in nvidia or windows but I’m using Philips hue app
AVR spec : Denon AVR X2100w with hdmi input for the HTPC and hdmi monitor 1 output to the earc hdmi input of the TV. No particular hdmi parameter but ARC and CEC (control sound via TV remote use). I bought it from second hand so maybe a “bad” setting was already present
TV spec : Samsung 55’’ Q70. I only modified the expert picture settings (contrast, etc…)
HDMI cable : guess it’s 2.1 as I can have 4k@120 when connecting HTPC to TV directly (AVR is only 2.0)
My problem : -HTPC is 4k@60 or 1080@60pk, everything is smooth until I use Kodi, Stremio or YouTube. When playing a video with theses players, the frame rate is lowered and the video is stuttering. I’ve check the tv, it’s says 1080@60, the AVR too (information section in settings, in and out are 1080@60). When I disconnect the HTPC from AVR and connect it directly on the tv (not the same hdmi input on tv of the AVR) I get no problem at all, no stutter nothing on the 3 players.
-HTPC 4K or 1080@frame rate of the media played : no problem
-HTPC is 1080@120 (4k@120 not available) I get no problem. I think because the AVR goes in full pass through for the image because when I look in the information of the AVR setting, I get no info (only - - -) as the AVR looks lost or get no signal like this is too much to use but ok to pass through .
My thoughts: From these informations it looks like the AVR is like rencoding the 1080@60 to 1080@good frame rate of the media played but the TV stays at 1080@60 so it causes stuttering on TV. I’ve look into the AVR settings but I didn’t find anything like that. But I can also be a HTPC issue I guess and I don’t have an other on PC with HDMi
I’m a bit stuck because at can stay like that at 1080@120 but I’ll be missing 4K content on my 3 players + I’m planning to buy a new AVR 1700/1800 (mainly for HDR) and I’m afraid this time it will deal with 4k@120 and thus do the rencoding thing…)
What id like is to simply use my computer at 4k@60 without stuttering issue and without changing the frame rate every time…

So there’s this YouTube video game journalist I follow who was recently playing “Like A Dragon”. I told him I really don’t enjoy turn based combat games and asked him if the story was good enough for me to go through with a play style I don’t really like, and he said “Well, no, when have Yakuza stories ever been good?”
I thought that was an insane take that he said so casually and a couple people in chat seemed to agree with him. I thought they were fart smellers.
From my perspective I’m a new Yakuza player and I wanted to start from the start of the story so I began with Yakuza Kiwani 1. I loved Majima everywhere and the story of falling out with my friend I think named Nishki or something, but by then I already screwed up because I was so excited to see the origins of Nishki and the dragon of dojimas’ backstory so I had to play Yakuza 0 next.
Playing Kiwami first and Yakuza 0 second as a first time player was so uniquely depressing and massively impressive because I got to witness the friendship that was once there and the unraveling of Goro Majima. Kiwami was incredibly well written but 0 kind of put it all into another perspective and I thought the story was the greatest part (and the relationships with the characters and all the side stories were sometimes silly and sometimes very compelling).
So like what, what happened that made people think Yakuza games have bad stories? I’ve not played the other ones but Kiwami and Zero were such flawless examples of storytelling I can’t imagine why someone would talk down on the excellent stuff created so far.

Hello everyone,
I've been playing guitar since 2006. Over the years, I've been in several bands, and in 2014, I played my last gig as a guitarist for a Weezer cover band. I'm 36 now and am picking up the guitar again after a pretty long hiatus, with plans to start a new band with a friend. However, I've been feeling like my skill level as a guitarist has been stagnant since 2014, with only minor improvements.
Here's a bit of my history with guitar: I'm self-taught and learned to read tabs on my own. Early on, I took guitar lessons for about a month or two, then took a classical guitar class in college. The teacher in that class always acted like I was ahead of everyone else, but I never really felt that way.
Now to my main issue: I can't seem to grow as a guitar player. I have some thoughts on why this might be and would appreciate your input. One possible issue is that I have a bad memory, so when I learn a song, it just doesn't stick. This feels like a major roadblock for me.
Another issue is that I struggle to broaden my playing. I play a lot of Weezer since I'm a big fan, and I often find myself defaulting to their songs when looking for something to play. Recently, after getting a new guitar, I considered trying to play some country music, even though I don't like it, just to push myself out of my comfort zone. I thought maybe that could help, but I'm not sure.
It could also be the lack of consistent practice. Even when I had more time and was more invested, I always felt like I hit a wall and couldn't progress. Does anyone else relate to this? Do you have any advice or tips on how to break through this plateau?

Okay, so to start, you guys are way more technological advanced than me because I don't really know half the shit you're saying about these, but people clearly aren't fans of these headphones or Sonos, as of late, in general.
I basically run my Sonos mainly for home entertainment. I have a sound bar, sub, and (2) play 1's for my home theater, which is great. A play 5 for my record player and to just connect to when I'm entertaining and just fucking around at home. I also have a move to connect to when I'm in the yard doing work, mainly via Bluetooth if the wifi isn't very strong.
I'm currently in the market for new headphones which I pretty much only use while mowing the lawn and using other equipment for hearing protection and music. I only use Spotify and don't have any other services and very rarely use the Sonos app. I don't own anything apple and am extremely basic with my tech in general.
Are these things catered toward me because I'm too basic haha? Which I would understand why people are pissed because I don't even know what most people are saying with what sucks about these. I mean the price tag blows, but that's typical Sonos. However, the quality has always been there.
People seem pissed and I don't want to buy these if they fucked up this launch because they rushed this shit and didn't listen to their passionate fan base.
So I ask, did Sonos rush these out and pander to a basic older crowd that doesn't understand shit or are these a decent purchase if it has what I looking for? I'm 40 of that matters haha

So I've been on about a dozen antidepressants, SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs, TCAs, antipsychotic, etc (my symptoms are apathy and anhedonia). The remarkable thing is that only 20% of them produce side effects, and 0% of them produce an antidepressant effect. Lately I'm on a med called Auvelity which is a combo of Buproprion (stim) and DXM. Basically, taking this drug means you're high on cough syrup for at least a couple weeks. On day 1 I had mild wooziness, but on every day since I've had 0 wooziness which is highly unusual, yet syncs up with my past history of medications seeming to produce zero effect. But today I discovered something.
If I put pressure on the front part of my brain near the temple for a moment, the DXM kicks in and I feel dizzy. "Maybe it's not the DXM", you think. But consider this: For months now I've been drinking coffee in front of a fan because it correlates strongly with an antidepressant effect -- take away the fan, and the effects disappear. Originally I theorized it was the coolness of the wind, or maybe the speed, that caused the effect. But I've since realized it's because the wind puts a mild pressure on certain regions of the brain that, combined with the stimulant of caffeine, produced the effect. By experimenting with putting pressure on different parts so to speak, I can very briefly "reactive" that part of the brain which feels for lack of a better word numb.
This explains perfectly why antidepressants have consistently failed to produce effects for me, they're apparently not even reaching their target. What's also curious is these brain systems are apparently working fine, but they're simply "offline" 24/7 until I force them into action via pressure. For example, in my default state I simply can't enjoy music, but by concentrating on certain brain regions I can make music physically pleasurable again. The effects can last for hours, but they're all gone by next day. Does anyone have a clue what could be causing this?
