You play as a kid called Jimmy Hopkins who got put into Bullworth Academy, one of the worst schools in the country, after being expelled every school he's been to. His mom and step dad decide to enroll him there for a year while they go on their honeymoon.

MUSIC
Can we just take a second to appreciate the incredible soundtrack for this game?! Like just listen to The Setup, or THIS track. My jaws dropped when I first heard it when doing a lawnmowing job. Which brings me to...

GAMEPLAY
You can actually mow lawns in this game, wow. I wish you could do that in GTA.
The whole concept of the game is so cool and unique. You can go to class and get grades. Chemistry, Biology, Music, Gym and Art being my favorite. Once you complete a class or course you unlock either cosmetics or items/stats that will help your gameplay. For example if you pass an Art class you get a health % boost if you kiss a girl. If you pass all Chemistry courses you get easier access to weapons (stink bombs, dynamites, slingshots) at the chemistry set in your dorm. If you pass all Biology classes (where you dissect carcasses) you can change your face to a pig's head. And so on.
So you're on school campus. The campus feels plenty alive cause there's students of every clique you can imagine clashing all together. Nerds, bullies, jocks, greasers, chicks, etc. Nerds will pretty much mind their own business if you don't bully them. They'll be pretty approachable when you talk to them. Bullies on the other hand will constantly mess with you (shove you around, chase or attack you). If you pass one of the English classes you can unlock a special way to tell bullies to back off. You can even apologize to teachers and police later on for small inconveniences. Chicks will react kind to you especially if you bring them a bouquet of flowers, this will make them "like" you and you can kiss them to get more health.
There's a boys dorm room where you can save your game, look at your wardrobe, and sleep in your bed. I like to pull the fire alarm and watch the students rush outside, then sleep in my bed and wake up like nothing happened lol.
There's also a girls dorm room. You can go inside and interact with the NPCs but you'll be marked as "trespassing" and if one of the supervisors catches you'll they'll kick you out. Also some side missions take place in the girls dorm room.
Speaking of trespassing, the school closes at 7 PM in game and if you go inside the lights will be off and the prefects will be on high alert. There's also a curfew at 11 PM in the game, you can stay awake and roam around the world but you have to avoid prefects. If you don't sleep by 2 AM your character just knocks out asleep wherever he was and gets his shoes stolen.
As far as transportation, you first only have your feet at walking or running speed. Then you get given a skateboard and later on a BMX bike when you pass the first Shop class. There's also a bike shop where you can buy a Bike with better handling and speed. I've even seen NPC's steal your bike when you get off it sometimes but it doesn't matter cause it just respawns in your garage. At the end of the game the go-kart is the fastest vehicle to get around and get away from cops.
To get money you can do a job delivering newspapers and also lawnmowing. They're pretty simple jobs to carry out and don't take much of your time which is good, cause you can multitask going to class, then work, and say after that you can roam the open world or go to the carnival for a bit, and then come back to your dorm for bed.
Inside the school, you can steal from people's lockers. I like how the game doesn't force you to be a good guy or jerk, you can play the game how you want and even skip classes every day and not feel like you're playing it wrong.
If you violate the school dress code you can still go to class but prefects will be more likely to try and stop you. You can dress like a clown and be laughed at by students or dress how you want.
You can also do little favors for ingame money. NPCs will sometimes come up to you asking you if you've seen their dog or to take pictures of their boyfriend/girlfriend cheating on them.
You can taunt bullies and spit in their face after you beat them up and learn new combo moves from the old man near the school bus.
The time of year also changes. In chapter 1 you're in autumn and can also go through Halloween night wearing a costume and pull pranks on students. Bullworth Academy is also decorated on halloween and christmas.
Sometime in chapter 2, you can leave the school premises and go to stores (barber, food markets, clothes) and unlock a bike if you pass the first Shop class.
Easily one of my favorite places in the game is the Carnival where you can go on rides like a rollercoaster or Ferris wheel and earn rewards using the tickets you win from the minigames. The scootemoped costs 75 tickets.
In between classes if I'm waiting I'll sometimes go get the BMX bike and try to do tricks on the stairway near the entrance of the school lol. It helps pass the time.

FAVORITE MISSIONS
I really liked "The Tenements" in chapter 3 where you gotta recover Lola's personal belongings in a abandoned building. You fight a guy with a sledgehammer and then once you take it from him you gotta use it to smash the walls where some of her belongings are.
The mission where you gotta vandalize the imposter santa's decorations during christmas time with the Elves chasing you.
That final mission in chapter 4 when you're dressed as the school's mascot pulling pranks on the jocks before their big game. And then you gotta take down the whole team by dodging footballs and throwing it back at the defensive team until they back up towards the touchdown.

BUGS / CRASHES
I only experienced 2-3 minor crashes during my playthrough on PC but nothing major. I'm on windows 11 and always made sure to save my game after every like 20-30 mins of progress.

CONCLUSION
If you can accept some dated visuals and install the Silent Patch if you're on PC, the game is hella special and oozes charm like anything I've played. Literally Rockstar in their peak years as far as characters, mission design, soundtrack, open world structure goes. It's got all the elements of a GTA game circa 2002-2005 except without the drug dealing or criminal activity.
It's hard to describe how the game makes me feel. It feels like a passion project where a bunch of guys in their mid 20's all came together trying to envision their "dream" high school sprinkled with a Rockstar twist, favoring a more cartoony direction over realism. This, combined with the amazing soundtrack, really brings out the atmosphere of the game in a way that when I'm playing, I feel like a kid again watching a TV show in the 2000's.

Now is the right time to realize that dream. This class is the perfect way to get started. First of all - IT IS FUN. When I first started acting it was all about the homework - breaking scenes down, figuring things out. Not in this class. You are on your feet and working every week. Improv games, cold reading, and scene work. No memorization, no rehearsing. The essential core of acting is listening, reacting, and simply being yourself. Feeling nervous and self conscious is common but obviously will impede any performance. My years of training have provided me a way of getting actors to relax and open up to possibility. Most of all I love seeing what is holding an actor back and finding a creative way to just open up and allow a sense of freedom. Friendship is one of the most precious gifts of life. It's a feeling of love, sharing and caring, feeling that someone understands and appreciates you for what you are. Good friends are like pillars —- they help you stand tall. It's not about how often you meet your friends it's about how much you care during the good times as well as the bad times.
In this edition, I'd like to introduce my friend, the heartthrob of millions of women and the envy of men —- the one and only, Salman Khan!
Salman and I have known each other since our school days. He was in the all-boys school opposite mine. I still remember him as the kid who had a silver 'BMX' cycle in the late '70s, which was a pretty cool thing those days. We would always cross each other's paths while going to school, but we finally got talking only during the SSC exams. We bonded over the infamous exam paper leaks that happened at night (of course we realised soon enough that the examination papers were fake and didn't help us at all!). After class X, we ended up going to the same college —- Elphinstone. I still remember those lazy, hazy days when we used to sit in front of each other in class during the exams since our initials were both 'S.K.' and Salman would be asleep in the first hour during the exams because he had to wait for me to finish writing my supplement of eight pages —- which he would take from me. I can't help but smile when I recall those auto rides to the station, the 9.36 BadaFast as it was called, which was the non-stop train from Bandra to Churchgate. You know, everyone who is someone today was on that train.
I went on to complete my graduation, but Salman dropped out after the second year. I got a job as a flight attendant with Saudi Airlines and had to train in Jeddah. However, the decision to join proved disastrous for me —- I hated it so much that I resigned on the first day of training and took the next flight back to Mumbai. Having given up a lucrative salary and with no form of employment, I was in a depression. Arbaaz (Salman's brother) who was a friend of mine suggested that he and I join Mazhar Khan as assistant directors on a new film titled 'Gang'. We started as rookies, but luck ran out and the film got stuck for financial reasons. Once again we were back to square one —- unemployed and frustrated!
We would hang around without jobs all day and that's when Salman —- who had started filming with Sooraj Barjatya for his debut film, suggested that I become his costume designer. Me! And even though I didn't know the ABC of designing, I took up the offer because Salman assured me that it would be a cakewalk. Maine Pyar Kiya was a humungous hit —- a star was born and I was baptised as a costume designer by the film industry.
Salman and I would spend most of our time together at shoots, at their fabulous farm house in Panvel, hanging about in each other's homes or just chilling on Bandstand in the evenings. Salman used to have an old, red, open dilapidated car that he would drive around Bandstand to impress the girls. And the funniest thing was that whenever a pretty young thing would walk past, his car would breakdown!
You know the biggest irony? We would often sit on a green, grassy patch outside a bungalow. That bungalow today is Mannat —- Shah Rukh's house and this was in the days SRK hadn't even come from Delhi to Mumbai!
During those days there was a very cool club called the Playmate Club at the Sea Rock hotel which we were all members of. Rekhaji, who was a superstar then, would conduct aerobic classes at the Mind and Body Temple in that club. Salman would come to class only to check Rekhaji out in her leotards and leg warmers! It was also at this club that Salman taught me how to swim —- even though I was petrified of water —- by throwing me into the pool! Every Sunday was spent swimming, followed by the buffet brunch.
By 1990, Salman had become the heartthrob of millions of girls. Every film of his was a huge success. The world tours and foreign outdoor location shoots were unreal —- we travelled all over the world. London was where we always had a blast. Shooting by day, partying by night, sleeping for just a few hours and then back on the sets, feeling sick and groggy… Now I wonder how we got all that energy. Today I need a whole day to recover from a night of partying! I remember this one time, we were in London shooting for Jaanam Samjha Karo and we went to a club that had a strict dress code comprising formals. Salman wasn't wearing a jacket that night and they refused to let him in. Salman being Salman just ran across to Planet Hollywood, the only store open at that unearthly hour and bought a really expensive leather jacket, wore it and was allowed inside the club! The story doesn't end here. As soon as Salman entered the club he took the jacket off, handed it over to the bouncer who'd refused him entry and said, "Keep it!" I still remember the look on the bouncer's face!
I learnt so much from Salman, he taught me the nuances of designing. I would get loads of compliments for his look in the films he acted in —- be it his red lace shirt in Khamoshi, his open red jacket with dhoti pants in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam or his bright coloured jeans in Judwa. Actually for me it was extremely easy, because anything and everything looked good on him.
From him I learnt the meaning of being large-hearted. After every outdoor shoot he would take the unit to any one store and buy them whatever they wanted. Once in Mauritius, the unit ended up emptying the store of its stocks!
I used to be in Galaxy Apartments (Salman's home) all the time. It is one of the most endearing homes ever. The front door is never ever locked. It's open 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. You can walk in without ringing the doorbell and you'll always be welcome. Salim uncle and Salma aunty are two of the warmest souls you could ever meet and I am so fortunate to have them in my life.
But stardom always comes with a price and life throws unexpected curveballs your way. Salman soon started going through a low phase in his career and his films began to flop. It was at this time that Shah Rukh Khan came to Mumbai to make a career in films after dabbling in television, and I met Gauri at a fashion show on the third day of their arrival. Soon Shah Rukh and Gauri started hanging out at Galaxy playing Pictionary, which was the rage in those days. Sometimes we would drive around town in Salman's white Gypsy. It may sound unbelievable now, but we went in that very Gypsy to watch the first show of SRK's film Deewana. Those were the days of simpler friendships.
Salman in the meantime was still struggling with his downswing and didn't know how to bounce back. Then came a film called Karan Arjun —- this film marked the era of body-hugging tees and toned bodies. Salman worked on his physique and I made him wear tee shirts that were for five-year-olds! The formula worked and he was back on top again. This time he made the transition from lover boy to action hero. I received many compliments for his looks —- Salman was back with a bang!
As time went by we grew very, very close —- I was his only confidante. However, after 15 years of professional togetherness and a deep friendship, we started to have loads of differences. Sadly, one day we had a huge fight as a result of which we didn't speak to each other for almost five years. Around this time I was down in the dumps, doing small jobs for television. I was also going through a rough time financially. But then just like that —- from nowhere —- Ajay Devgan and Shahid Kapoor asked me to design for them and I pulled myself out of the slump I was in. But life had bigger challenges in store for me. My father suffered a major heart attack and I was devastated. I still remember vividly how Salman was the first person to land up at Lilavati Hospital. He called the doctors and took charge of the situation completely. That's Salman and that's what makes him so special. After that we spoke casually whenever we met even though I don't frequent Galaxy anymore.
However, I have a deep bond with his entire family which will never break. Even though Salman and I were going through our ego battles, I continued meeting Arbaaz and Sohail and attended both their weddings. Today, Arbaaz, Malaika, Seema and Sohail are amongst my closest friends and I frequent their homes all the time.
When I got into production and made Rowdy Rathore, the first two people who came to see my movie after Akshay and I saw it were Salim uncle and Salma aunty. I had a special screening for the entire family and they were so happy for me. Salma aunty couldn't believe that I had done all this on my own. I remember sending Salman an emotional message one day before the release thanking him for having introduced me to the film industry. A few days later I bumped into him and he congratulated me warmly on the success of my film.
Love and affection in a friendship must be mutual if the friendship is to exist. I know that things are not the same between us, but I also know that this feeling of love and affection is real. I know that he will always think kindly of me and that he will always be there if I needed him. I can honestly write a whole book on him as I literally grew up with him —- my best memories are with him.
Today, I raise a toast to the biggest superstar in my life —- my friend Salman Khan and I hope and pray that success, happiness and good health remain his companions always.

My late nephew , Josh and I had a dream to open up the most ambitious all inclusive arts, entertainment and multimedia business the world has ever seen.
The Idea is to purchase Cincinnati's Subway which would be repurposed renamed the Undergroundz in which:

1. Live action Halo themed red/blue Paintball with changing maps would be played recorded and broadcasted.
2. Skateboarding and bmx park where competition and races can be recorded and broadcasted.
3. D&D, Magic the Gathering tournaments, LARPing and True Dungeon. Costume making and weapon crafting, so one can come make their coz and then play.
4. Live music of ALL genre, recording studio and broadcasts.
5. The world’s largest arcade. Video game competitions recorded and broadcasted.
6. Drone racing, battle drones, and battle bots. Recorded and broadcasted.
7. Plays, Musicals, TV and Movies.
8. Art galleries with spaces for artists to make art, perform art or learn to make arts and crafts.(something like a build a bear for painting, leather working, jewelry making, etc.)

Everything would be released under the name “The 513ater. ” Talent would be locally sourced and developed from our schools.
Investment would be made into our local scholastic fine arts, music and multimedia programs.
The corporation would be completely profit sharing from the top down.
We will eventually produce a signature Cincinnati brand of Entertainment that will be in our own voices.

• Niklas Larsen shares a photo of his first mountain climbed, but does he mean of 2021? Or his career? Of the offseason? Who can say?

Training inside

• Chloe Dygert is back on the (indoor) bike for the first time in a few months and is already seeing amazing progress in rebuilding her muscle mass in her damaged leg
  
• Romain Bardet enjoyed some encouragement from his youngest fan, who has already made his cycling preferences clear
  
• Luke Rowe seems to have a bit of rage caused by his offseason training program
  
• Egan Bernal got some tests done.. Looks kind of like astronaut training.
  

Weather
On Thursday social media was full of riders posting pictures of the snow.

• Antoine Duchesne summed up the general mood nicely. Although Will Clarke wasn't so lucky.
  
• Mark Padun has returned from Ukraine to his home near Lago d’Iseo where he encountered the year’s first snowfall but once it stopped he started!
  
• Diego Ulissi had a bit more accumulation where he lives
  
• With an inundation of snow across all of northern Italy, Elena Cecchini proves to everyone that it isn’t snowing everywhere
  
• Pavel Sivakov can probably help her out with that
  
• Kaden Groves is also back home and there is no snow to be seen, just beautiful ocean views
  
• Meanwhile Robert Gesink is making the most of it with his family
  
• Davide Ballerini and Dario Cataldo braved the weather for several picturesque days out this week. Cataldo was amazed that Ballerini doesn't wear gloves – and so are we.

Zakarin time

• After not making the selection for the Giro he decided to dedicate himself to add running to his training program and has taken to it, but Alex Dowsett seems to have a different relationship with running
  
• He explains his training one day, a bit impatient for his riding partner and later reports that he rode for four hours before spending time with his family, no word about his riding partner
  
• Another day he claimed to be taking the day off of stories to return with renewed vigor except… just minutes earlier he had shared his daily workout with us in his stories
  
• Yet another day he went for a run, then tried to catch the last bit of summer, then.. well he made the discovery that we wish Formolo would make. But do you swim?
  
• Another day he heads out on a ride with Vyacheslav Kuznetsov, and then describes how he did two hours on the flats but Slava hit the mountains where there are no cars and later confesses that he might have a problem
  
• I hope none of you forgot Mother’s Day!
  

Food and drink

• It's over a year since the World Championships came to Yorkshire– those Italian juniors sure do make that special Yorkshire Tea last

Decided to take a scroll stroll through CC's Instagram, and I've compiled with dates what I think is the complete timeline for Scammer. I think I might be missing a few things, as CC does tend to delete posts and edit captions, and these screenshots of the grid are all from today (8/9/2020). Please add on images in the comments of anything you have saved that I may have missed and what dates those occurred at! I've also specified where each image has come from (the imgur album should be in order), so it will say next to the update if she posted in on the grid (shorthand= BG). I skimmed all her captions since December for any scammer mention, so if it's not included, no other update exists (currently.) Links to individual images are posted as "X" next to the description.
I will continue to update ths post until Scammer has been finalized and received by customers.

EDITED from original posting: additions to the timeline after August 10th
8/20/2020: Caroline posts the official CC calendar of dates. A date for the release of scammer is notably absent, though the caption says "something big" is coming September 10th. There is speculation in the posts comments that this is scammers official release date, and caroline does not respond to any. Website still has the 31st estimated ship date posted.- BG X
8/21/2020: Caroline finally replies to a comment asking when scammer will arrive with "it's coming. Ask Brigid if you want a refund." She does not give any solid date or time, with 10 days to the alleged ship date.-BG X
8/22/2020: Caroline posts a Cambridge memory on her story about being part of a hunt club, and plugs that you should buy scammer because of the stories. Previously, she has claimed all Cambridge stories are part of AAWL, and she was adamant that they were going to be two separate books. She claims the delays to scammer occurred after finding out her mother's cancer has returned in early August. 9/17/2020: Caroline makes no mention of Scammer and does not respond to any comments about it shipping, but does post a bunch of tiktoks, a YouTube video, and multiple portraits of herself.
9/18/2020: Caroline posts an email screenshot she sent to her team, saying she was not going to get any work done today, sent at ~11 pm. The subject of the email is copy editing, implying the work she is not doing is editing Scammer, 1 day after its has already "shipped"-BG X
9/23/2020: Caroline posts a screenshot of a word document, claiming the page pictured will be an exclusive title page for the first edition printing, and will not be in subsequent print runs. This directly contradicts her claims that there will only be one printing and you must preorder it to recieve a copy or miss out on it "forever". The page makes a joke aboit how only a crazy person would have hung along through all the delays without getting a refund. 10/6/2020: at 4am after drinkingX, Caroline posts a grid post with the title for the first chapter of Scammer. The title is "I was Caroline Gotschall" and she's tagged 5 locations that go with the chapter. She accompanies these locations with stock images+ a photo of her father's house and calls it a chapter lookbook/preview. She also posts the opening line for the book, "When the curtain comes up, everything is a mess." which is directly plagiarizing the opening line of her annotated SCHOOL GIRL chapters, which she has previously sold for $4.99 a chapter. She claims she can do this now because she has earned enough from OnlyFans to pay back Flatiron, but these claims remain unsubstantiated. It is unclear if the Scammer audiobook will also be free, which is concerning for those that paid money for it. Caroline's last two posts before this were both featuring a man who is an early/mid-twenties billionaire heir. There is speculation that Caroline is making a big show of the book to look like she has a job/some ambition ( a pattern consistent with Soup) and using it as an excuse to stay in England to try and wrangle it into a relationship with him.

Adam Spiegel has redifined what a person should be able to accomplish in their professional lives in the film industry. A young skateBMX punk from Rockville, Maryland. Spiegel picked up a camera taking stills of his friends riding and tricking with no real sense of the world he was about to enter.
Moving out West to freelance for Transworld Skateboarding Magazine, Spiegel's work stood out among the other action photographers. His attention to detail and shot composition were leagues and bonds above his contemporaries. Changing his name to Spike Jonze after a Bethesda shop owner referenced a likeness to satirical songwriter Spike Jones.
Spike quickly graduated from stills to film and would create some of the most memorable and influential skate videos of the generation. Most notably Blind Skateboards: Video Days (1991) featuting a young unkown Jason Lee. In 1993 Jonze would hook up with pro skaters Mike Carroll & Rick Howard to form Girl Skateboards. Within that time Jonze honed his skills filming/directing more skateboard videos and would revolutionize the medium by adding entire lines of tricks and comedy skits throughout his productions. This would be mimicked by other skate videos for years to come.
Fellow skater and friend Mark Gonzales gave Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth a copy of Video Days in a chance encounter which as luck would have it, would set in motion what arguably could be the most important meeting not only for Jonze but the MTV generation as a whole.
Spike Jonze is responsible for some of the most iconic music videos in history. Fatboy Slims-Weapon of Choice & Beastie Boys-SABOTAGE, rank 1 & 2 on the VH1 Top 100 Music Videos of all time. In a time now when the music video is all but dead, but then at the time making these videos aswell as others like Weezer-Buddy Holly, Dinosaur Jr-Feel the Pain, The Breeders-Cannon Ball, & many more. Jonze built a solid foundation of style and ethic that he would employ in making future commercials and feature films.
Again you are not supposed to have your first film be a massive cult success like Being John Malkovich and then follow that up with Adaption. However one can argue that Jonze stylistically didn't add much to these projects. Charlie Kaufman, who wrote both of these films as well as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was very much driving the bus. However these two found each other exactly in the right time in each mens careers to help and grow creatively. Jonze has an uncanny talent of surrounding himself with the right talented people. Creatives, being actors, cinematographers, or producers will go out of their way to work with Jonze and insure the project succeeds. Whether it's because of his charm, likeability, or raw enthusiasm. Spike Jonze lights creative fires.
To fairly judge a Spike Jonze film in my opionion is to look at his last two feature films, Where the Wild Things Are (2009) an adaptation of the Maurice Sendak childrens novel of the same name. And Her (2013) the utopian-science fiction-love story. In a somewhat polarizing opionion, I am pleased Jonze & Kaufman have not collaberated since Adaption. The two would go on to make extraordinary films. Kaufman now directing, is making movies that feel allot closer connected to the two early Jonze directed movies which valdiates my earlier point in Kaufman leading Being John Malkovich & Adaptation creatively. Spike Jonze uses those experiences as a bootcamp for putting together a production.
Where the Wild Things are shows us how much of an unrelenting visionary Jonze truly is. With astronomical push back from studio execs wanting to lighten up what was supposed to be a film for young children. Instead Jonze offers a brutal, deppressing, & bleak look into a deteriorating family ideal of intimacy and abuse. The film itself looks awful but by choice. Easily Jonze could have opted for CGI or puppets, or costumes, yet he chose an amalgamation of all three. To give us a haunting realism to his melancholy and dangerous creatures. WTWTA is one of my favorite films I didn't enjoy watching. The darkness and unease is palatable yet gorgeously crafted.
Jonze's greatest triumph comes in the way of the Joaquin Phoenix/Scarlett Johansson vehicle, Her. The visual antithesis of the grainy and filthy looking film before it, Her looks like you've stepped foot inside of a Los Angeles decorated by Jamba Juice. Prestine and antiseptic, the utopian back drop is the perfect contrast to the loneliness our point man Theodore Twombly is feeling going through a seperation of his marriage played by Rooney Mara. The writting of this film is masterful and sucks you into a world were falling in love with your computer is not only possiable but fringes on socially acceptable. Beyond the surface aesthetic, is a beautiful commentary on what it means to ne in love and how to fulfill your own happiness before you can satisfy anothers. Jonze again employes his greatest creative attribute in finding people that can help his pure vision reach the screen. Recasting the pivotal role of the OS Samantha after filming the entire movie with a different actress attached to the role was not only necessary but bold. Jonze also not being able to whittle down the film to an acceptable runtime, hired Steven Soderbergh to edit the film down to it's crisp near 90 min runtime. This attention to detail awarded Spike an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
Jonze of course is the co-creator and writer for the early 2000's phenomenon that was Jackass. He also has kept busy in front of the camera in roles in Moneyball, The Wolf of Wallstreet, & in friend and fellow filmaker David O'Russel's Three Kings. Currently Jonze has taken on more of a business exec role as President of Viceland. A TV channel offshoot of Vice.
Although Jonze has nothing left to prove and defiantly enough on his plate, running companies, directing commercials and music videos. I am hopefull and don't think we've seen the last of him as a feature director. Again his arc is the exception to the rule. A street punk skater turned industry mogul.

So I'm a filmmaker in the sense I create personal no-budget short films. I hope to create feature films and maybe even make it a job when I get there but right now I'm just a novice learning and polishing my skills with short films and I'm certainly happy with just doing that.
I'm in the post production of my latest short, Nozomi Killed the Last Divine Kibou. It's a homage to chambara movies which are Japanese Samurai cinema. It's a genre film which by design means it's pretty stylized by nature. The locations and costumes were all carefully chosen by me to reflect the final vision what I wanted to create and what I could. I was influenced by the obvious Kurosawa, Lone Wolf and the Cub, even anime but I really just really wanted to make a movie about a swordsman and felt that the idea I had was technically feasible. I'm looking at the footage and there's certain key scenes where I feel like it falls far from the vision I hoped. I can make excuses but honestly I just think it's cause of my own inexperience in being able to adapt better and I'm ok with that cause that's why I make these short films, to get that experience.
Even before short films though I've always created art. Always been artsy kid who grew to a artsy teen and now an artsy adult at 28. The creative process I'm comfortable with somewhat and I've always had people who like what I do and have gotten awards and praise for the paintings and drawings I've done. I was never the guy who could do amazing still lives or anything like that, everything was always "overstylized". Which makes it sound better than what it is which is I'm crap at seeing something and drawing it exactly but my unique pencil work would distract people from making a direct connection to the actual subject and my work. In the beginning it wasn't a conscious decision but after a while I just honed in on it. To me there was always fraud element to it all. It really wasn't a conscious decision and an evaluation of technical skills, it's nonexistent hah. Hidden behind I guess what I'd call my style, I felt like there was really nothing of real substance, like it's one big gimmick. And some people have voiced it as that too.
So a few years ago I pursued filmmaking as my only medium. I've filmed things for a long time but it was just BMX tricks and what not. I liked it doing it but it was just another medium for me to do until at some point I really just loved filmmaking for filmmaking. I've always dabbled in a lot of mediums, picked things up and drop it, try something new, which is nothing new in the art world but somehow filmmaking has completely encaptured me. I always think it's cause it really is working a bunch of mediums to create a final cohesive product. But filmmaking is a very technical thing. I'm trying to move beyond creating strange abstract pieces or anything like that. I want it to be judged as a short film as any other short film would be but I feel like the old creative habits are coming back.
Like I said there were a few key scenes where it was filmed a lot worse than I hoped. Everyone was tired, it would be crazy hard to get everyone who came out that day for another day, the original location didn't work out so all the preproduction notes like framing and blocking that were dependent on that particular location fell through, the 2nd camera guy had to leave and to top it off it's all outdoors and we only had a few hours left until it would be too dark to film any type of continuity. Nothing new in filmmaking from what I read. So I chose the first location that looked ok. I said ok to bad framing and blocking. I rushed every scene just to get it done and it did get done but the final product is definitely a reflection of it. It's just really sloppy and the few people who have seen the rough cut agree.
So I feel my old habits that I hated come back. I'm overstylizing again. I already had to make the whole thing black and white cause the exposure is all over the place and the only solution I think there is is reshooting or black and white. Reshooting isn't an option but hey it's chabara film black and white can work. Not too bad. Lost some of those lush greens I hoped would make it to the final but it's how it is sometimes. It's like I wanted to create something beautiful and naturalistic like Gladiator but production went bad that I ended up having to create 300 with it's color scheme and fancy slow mo/editing tricks instead. This while maybe passes in a casual viewing type of way, it's not my original vision that I promised everyone and in that sense I failed. And it's the whole fraud aspect again, it's like creating distractions again to hid that technically this is awful and I'm terrible at all this. I'm using some editing techniques that while it works for this film, it's gonna border on being an "art film" and that's now what I wanted!
Two things kind of make me feel better. One is that the editor of "Apocalypse Now", one of my favorite war movies and movies in general said that technically its ridden with inconsistencies and issues but it's through editing they hid it. Another is Martin Scorsese in his Masterclass admitting that even himself sometimes comes onto set and not know what to do. Not exactly the same situation as me but the idea that as an artist, these two undeniable greats feel somewhat like me is comforting. Still though... I really like Ozu's film. Everything is filmed so meticulously. I'm sure there are happy accidents somewhere but it seems like he's able to really have control over the technical medium, something that directors I really respect like Paul Thomas Anderson and Stanley Kubrick are known for. I'm sure some of you guys like him but I think Lars Von Trier is overrated. I think he creates these overstylized films to hide the fact he has little substance, my personal opinion but also take note that I feel like as a director Lars Von Trier than anyone. Even someone like Quentin Tarantino is famous for being overstylized I feel is commendable because his style was something that was created to fulfill a function and that function wasn't to hide that he's terrible.
I always thought to myself that a natural style is a process in where people find a creative solution to something. Like in the 90's, grunge kids didn't want to dress like stereotypical punks and only had so much clothes available to them so they hit the thrift stores and created grunge fashion. I guess my personal problem is that there is a certain dissonance between what I want to create and what I have created. Filmmaking being something I do care about it, it bothers me a bit more than it ever did in other mediums. I want to be able to compare my process to Kubrick but I find myself comparing it to the processes of what I imagine Lars Von Trier or Micheal Bay or M.Night Shymalan. Not that I think I'm on any their level in anyway but it's just the whole idea where "hey I clearly not good at this so let's just make it as twisted as possible or add as much busty women in skimpy clothing with explosions and helicopters, or add a twist!". What are you guys thoughts on the nature of style? Thoughts on movies being overstylized? The Kubricks vs. The Micheal Bays?

With E3 well underway some people may have watched Microsoft's conference and wondered what exactly is Xbox Game Pass? Well worry not like most of you I had heard of game pass but never fully looked into it. Now that I have a better understanding of the system i have made this guide to hopefully help anyone who's on the fence and hopefully help save some money along the way.
What is Game Pass?
Game Pass is a subscription based service which has been refereed to as "Netflix for games" you simply sign up to the service and then get to choose from over 100 games from the library to play once you have downloaded them. These games range from Xbox One, 360, original Xbox & Play anywhere titles.
How much is the service ?
Microsoft has an offer on at the moment where you can get 1 month of game pass for £1, after that any additional months will be charged at £7.99, You can opt into this offer at anytime via the Xbox dashboard or on Xbox.com.
You can also sign up to the service using a pre-paid code, these are available in 1 month & 6 month subscriptions at the moment. Amazon, Argos & Smyths are currently running a promotion where you can buy 6 months for £23.99, this is currently around 50% off as the RRP is around £48.
You pay monthly, does that mean I need a card on my account?
Not always, I activated a 6 month code yesterday and I was prompted to add card information but only if i wanted to get an extra month free, I simply un-checked that option & was allowed to continue without any need for card info. In regards to signing up via the dashboard for the month by month subscription you will need a card on file. It is also worth mentioning that if you dont have a card you can always use Paypal aswell.
How do I manage / cancel my subscription?
You can do this by going to account.microsoft.com/services and signing in with your xbox related account, you will then click on "services & subscriptions" in the blue bar, go over to "xbox game pass" and then click on manage on the far right. In this area you now have the option to turn off auto renew or just cancel the subscription. If you paid through a pre-paid code I advise you turn off auto renew just incase you dont have a card on file, dont worry this wont cancel you current subscription it just means it will end on the date shown without renewing itself.
If you have a month by month subscription any changes you make will cancel your subscription immediately.
Does it offer any other benefits?
Yes it does, if you like a specific game while you have game pass you can buy it to own for 20% off, if you want to buy any DLC for a game in the service you can get 10% off them aswell.
How often are games added / removed?
The list of available games is updated at the 1st of each month, its best to keep an eye on this sub or on any social channels just to make sure a game you are playing is not being removed soon. It is also worth noting that any 1st party games made by Microsoft studios will be available as soon as they release, the ones we know are Crackdown 3 and Forza Horizon 4.

What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
This build will replace my current 5 year old machine. I will be using my previously owned XFX Radeon HD 6870 until I replace it with a card that is VR capable. I'm planning on either buying a GTX 1070, or if I have to wait a little longer, an RX 490 if it is less expensive. I currently play mostly indie games, but my pc is struggling even with games like Costume Quest and I think it is because of my CPU (AMD Phenom II X6 1055T) since my GPU shouldn't have any problems with games like that. I will also be using the PC for digital art with Photoshop, and self-publishing with InDesign. My current PC struggles with having more than 3 PSDs open at a time. I'm hesitant to use the term "future-proof" but I honestly don't expect to want to buy any upgrades for a least 2-3 years.

If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, FPS, game settings)
I'm hoping to have a PC that will be strong enough to play VIVE games once I have a more capable GPU. I'm not interested in overclocking. My current monitor is 1080p 60hz, but I would like to buy a 1440p 60hz IPS monitor for Digital Art purposes as well as gaming. I don't do any competitive gaming, so 144hz isn't a necessity for me. The two games I'm looking forward to playing are Star Citizen (eventually) and The Witcher III, which I read that with my current HD 6870 I should be able to play on Ultra at 30fps which is enough for me. (I know, I know, I can tell the difference between 30 and 60fps, but mainly I just want to see the beautiful scenery!!)
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
I'm looking to upgrade to a new PC soon (in 1-2 months) with a budget of $600, and I would like my graphics card purchase (probably in 3-6 months) to be no more than $400, but I'm perfectly fine using my HD 6870 for the time being.

My goal is to have a Black, White, and Gold build. I will be adding lights, and a Gold GPU backplate, and other silly things as time goes on. Aesthetics are very important to me with this build. This is why I've chosen the CPU cooler that I have listed. I would be willing to change it to something else if there is another Gold option, but this seems to be the only gold cooler I can find for 1151 chipset. I could probably be swayed in another direction if anyone can tell me that this is a bad cooler. I also have an unused code for Windows 8, which I have read that I can use to install Windows 10. So I won't have to spend money on that.
This will be my first PC build and I want to do it right. My current PC was built by a friend with a $600 budget (GPU included) 5 years ago and I want to spend a bit more on it this time.
Basically, my questions are:

1. Will this be a good VR machine with a 1070 or similar card from AMD?
   
2. Will it be a good general gaming PC on at least Medium settings for current games like Rocket League and Witcher III?
   
3. Will this be a good PC for editing large art files (500MB each), and maybe 5 images or more at a time?
   
4. Is this a PC that I can leaving running 24/7? Or would it be better not to since it will have the SSD for faster booting anyway?
   
5. Do you work on Star Citizen or are you psychic enough to tell me if this will be a solid build for that game? Haha! Just kidding... But seriously, if you have inside info on this front let me know.

Recently me and my friends were talking about our days in school, before we started high-school, the fun times over twenty years ago. We had a good laugh at all the stuff we used to do for fun in the playground and in class, who had the best Pokemon cards, who had the best bmx and we had a good laugh about some of the things we got up to. We remembered a ton about our school days as the evening went on.
Mr. Casleck, the Headteacher, his glasses would steam up when he got mad and Mrs. Green accidentally swearing infront of a classroom of nine year olds. Ahh, fun times. Anyway, eventually we got down to talking about the classes and teachers and then we moved onto talking about some of the lunch time clubs and the book club we had and then this one day at school- just a brief memory, it just came to me, I remembered such a vivid flashback to a classroom- all the kids there, my friends too- I wasn't sure what I was really remembering but I could remember enough to describe it so I just said-
“Does anyone remember the Scowler?”
Suddenly as I said that, I felt a sort of- uncomfortable sensation- it wasn't something anyone of us had remembered up until I said it- for a second I tried to remember what the Scowler was. All I could really remember at the time was whenever it was a certain time in the month- the teachers would close all the curtains and then they would shut off all the lights and each class and all of the kids would be just sitting there in the dark.
The classroom wasn't totally dark- the curtains wouldn't block out all of the outside light but they darkened the classroom, it was no different to us all watching a movie like we often would as a class, up to that point- it was all normal and part or our routine. We were all still smiling at this point too...
So I mentioned the Scowler- anyway, when the class was dimmed and the classroom was totally silent- the teacher would take a pin out of her cupboard and then tell us to all put our faces down onto the desk- put our hands over the back of our heads and then she'd tell us all to remain as we were. It sounds weird now but we were used to it. Then, when the classroom was totally silent- the teacher would drop the pin onto the floor. She would do that until she heard it drop or until it made a sound to symbolise to the class of how quiet we were or how good we were being. I only really know anything because I peeked for just a moment.
I'd watch her drop the pin multiple times in succession before it would ping then when the pin was dropped for the final time, the teacher would leave the classroom, and like we all remembered, she or he or whoever was in charge wouldn't leave quietly, they'd be like- hissing- she'd leave the door open and we would remain there for minutes- maybe five or ten minutes listening to them hissing away down the dark corridor. We could hear the traffic on the road not too far from the school but besides that- We would hear nothing but our own heart beats and fidgeting. No one would mess around either even though the class was unattended, we all knew how important it was to be quiet for the Scowler.
Then a single bell would ring. Like a single chime of a hollow bell that none if us had ever seen or would ever see.
When I mentioned the bell to my friends as we were trying trying to recall other details, one of my friends stopped me dead,
"The Scowler-“ He snapped his fingers and said at once- “It never came into my classroom-“ He said almost defiantly but he didn't seem to want to finish the rest of his sentence, like the memory was caught in his throat.
“It was all just a joke though.” My other friend seemed pretty serious, “it's just weird.” and he was pretty against the idea of me continuing talking about it- but the others remembered the bell too, we couldn't seem to stop ourselves from there- We just kept prompting each other with more and more details,
“It did mine- went into my classroom like three times.”
It did mine too- I'd seen it come into the room because like usual- I looked just for a brief moment And I wished I hadn’t.
So when this bell rang- it would ring once. We were always told that when you hear that bell- You stay silent and you hold your breath- if you did that- You could sometimes hear it coming. We'd be “lucky enough to see it coming.” I remember that part now but I hadn't when I was with my friends.
Sometimes it would pass right past our doorway into the class next door. Sometimes it would be in a different part of the school and you would never hear anything but the bell- if you were me, you would see it entering the classroom- And you would wish you had never peaked-
I think my friends must have seen it too. We could all recall the same sort of details.
The Scowler, that's what they called it, the teachers that is. Sometimes we would have these classes where we would be given all of this art stuff- glitter, paint, gold and silver pens, and we would have to draw a nice picture of our parents, and then us, and then the Scowler. We only knew what the Scowler looked like because, well- none of us really can remember why or how we knew what it looked like, but we did and still do- It was a big, dark red thing- like, hooded, and really tall and thin and when it came into the classroom, it would have to duck beneath the door frame and lurch it's body inside-
“But it was just a costume-“
My friend said, and it probably was, but it was a big costume- it was a well done costume for something we weren't supposed to look at. Not that there was alot to make out- I didn't see a face- I just remember a black sort of, portal where the face would be- I don't remember seeing hands- just black- And it wore boots- heavy boots with metal that jangled as it walked
It took very long strides- through the hallway, sometimes you'd hear it clattering in the classroom next door or tables and chairs would screech or you'd hear heavy things fall asthough it was searching for something, or just making a noise just for the hell of it-
“I remember John saying it was Mr. Lloyd.”
“Yeah but didn't people go missing?”
Years later now, we're not so sure- even after we called it a night, when I got home, I found nothing of these missing kids online but that detail- that's what we remembered most of all-
We remembered that if the Scowler came into your classroom- hoisted you up from your seat and took you out into the darkness of the hallway, screaming- people would soon be saying that you'd vanished or you'd just 'gone'.
As soon as someone was selected and the Scowler had left- the bell would sound again- the teacher would come back into the room- the teacher would be wearing a sort of, cloth or veil like mask, like white fabric draped their faces- they'd always be white and we'd all remain as we were- staring at the desk- the curtains would be opened and the lights flicked back on and then we'd be told to sit up and smile.
The teachers would always be in a really good mood, as if a good thing had just happened, like we should feel rewarded or something. The teachers were always so adamant that we smiled for the Scowler too- it took a moment for us to remember at the time what the teacher would say, but it was along the lines of,
“Sit up and smile for the Scowler. Why do we smile for the Scowler?”
Twenty years later we blurted out the same answer,
“Because the Scowler likes smiles!”
After that, we all just sat in disbelief that we could have forgotten the whole thing- but still, we all knew that there were kids that we'd never seen again. We l had a friend named Chris- he'd been killed by when he was hit by a car on the way to school but I swear I remember him in class that day- I'm sure it was him that the Scowler took out.
I'm probably just mad haha but there is also another friend who was called Sarah and she was taken out too- she was in another class and everyone knew that she'd been taken out- but she was murdered by her parents- it's all just weird, even the police knew she'd been murdered by her parents- but there were some kids... there was never any explanation or any explanation that I remember for them.
I remember trading pokemon cards with this new kid called Aiden one day and the next he was gone- there's nothing about him dead or anything- but there was alot of kids now that I remember it whom I never saw again- for whom no explanation is available- we've just never really thought about it up until now.
Really, or honestly I don't know if this is all just, completely exaggerated- it was so long ago- it's just strange. A strange memory with strange feelings attached. We all just let the memories wander around for a while as we reminisced as a group.
Eventually we moved into different topics and away from the uncomfortable stuff but somehow we just kept finding a way back to taking about it, it wasn't intentional but from the minute we'd started talking about it, the more we seemed to remember.
I just didn't seem right. It didn't seem wrong either- the whole thing, whilst we knew people had gone missing- We knew kids had been murdered from our school before or abducted or simply moved away, but it didn't seem out of place in a weird way remembering the Scowler.
We've grown up and left the school and never seen the Scowler since- we'd never seen some of these kids again either but that doesn't seem odd, it doesn't seem, bad- No one had ever done anything or said anything about what happened at school- the teachers all knew- the kids all knew- even our own parents probably knew who the Scowler was when we'd bring them home our pictures of us together with the Scowler but no one said anything about it-
No one stopped it or changed it so no one must have had a problem with it- one of my friends there that night is a police officer today and he said people know about it and they know that a number kids had gone missing over the years from that school- alot of children whom were new to the school would be plucked out just as quickly and they'd move somewhere else- there were rumours and claims but he said it was all just like a myth now- all just old memories from twenty years ago and nothing to say that there was anything wrong.
But like I said, there's nothing online or anywhere to suggest anyone met their end in that school or anything even close. But the Scowler we can all be certain to have been real- We just don't know why or for what purpose besides knowing it liked smiles or something- And took kids out of the room- but none if us can see the reasoning for it. It was a strange conversation to say the least. It's funny to think we had remembered so much much but forgotten it all.
Maybe we had forgotten it on purpose, maybe it was just something completely harmless, whatever it was, I cannot imagine.
I just remember it's size and it's thin wirey shape, it's long arms and the way it ducked down into the room and scanned over the tops of our heads with its face engulfed in shadow.
In the end, we called it a night and we all went home and typing this now- I just remember so much more- the smell of, like, burning as it entered the room and seeing a teacher crying once as she left her office- she just walked right by me- in floods of tears- complete hysterics yet she never admitted anything to be wrong when we asked, I remember one of my mates even telling her not to cry because 'the smiler hated tears' but she just waved us off and we'd spend that day pondering why the teacher was crying but eventually that too, we forgot.
Even a few years later when the same teacher committed suicide, we all just seemed to forget it. I can also remember part of a song we'd sing at times, a song for the Scowler-
We'd sing it sometimes during the morning like a hymn or a prayer, only I remember the tune just not the words- the tune was, well, slow- quite plane and boring and the song had to be spoken and not actually sang, though I'd describe it as a song since it made us all happy and the teachers were happy too. I just wish I could remember the words. There is alot I can't remember still.
A few years after I left the school- the building was apparently set ablaze and eventually demolished and then replaced with a more modern building and the school has been operating as usual ever since. Recently me and my friends were invited to a reunion at the school which we will be attending next week, I think that's probably why we started on remembering the whole thing in the first place.
We're quite sure now however that we won't be running into any Scowler at our age but it will be strange to see what kind of things they have planned for us when we go to the reunion. All I really know is that there's no alcohol, but there's entertainment and one of my friends said that we'll be playing some old classroom games with some of the old teachers and generally just having a good catch up, it should be fun. I hope!
