I currently hold two bachelors and have one year of an MA completed.
In my MA, in one of my courses I only achieved a C grade and thus ‘failed’ that course. This was due to my dad passing. The course in question is a two semester course and has a grade of C on the transcript.
I have two questions: 1) For programs that calculate grad credit, will this be calculated as a C or an F?
2) How ‘sunk’ am I? With it counting as a C, my L20 is 3.85. With it counting as an F I would be at a 3.73.

Hi, I don’t post on Reddit much but I’m feeling hopeless. Sorry in advance for the poor grammar and jumbled thoughts, I’m writing this all as it comes to my mind and I don’t care about making it make sense. My boyfriend and I have been dating for 2 years, and we used to not have distance. Last summer he moved 3 hours away to live with his dad due to some family issues. We went from seeing each other every day to seeing each other once a month (if we’re lucky). I have BPD and struggle with severe attachment issues and abandonment issues, and these worsened with the distance. No matter how much he reassures me, I still believe he’ll randomly meet someone someday and fall out of love with me. Last weekend he graduated high school which really made me realize how much everything is changing. He’s a grade above me, meaning I still have a full year left of school while he will be starting college. It feels like I’m being left behind. This has been making me feel horrible due to my fear of abandonment. On top of this we live two completely different lifestyles. His family is very well off and he has a full ride to college, whereas my mom makes $1500 a month which is gone in a week due to bills and food, and the rest of the month we scrape by. I feel awful being jealous of him and his achievements, I just want to support him but my jealousy gets in the way. I really love him and I want us to work, and he tells me the same, but I can’t help but be terrified all the time. My anxiety has been crippling lately and I turn this into anger causing arguments between us. It feels like I don’t know him anymore and I’m just someone from his “past life” even though he says that’s not true. I just feel like everything is changing and the distance is separating us. I just want advice or for people to share their own experiences. Again I apologize for this being all over the place, my emotions are very high right now.

I have a colleague who consistently gets shit from one parent, no matter the kids grade. They get a 90? Should have been a 100. They get an 80? Clearly, the teacher is blind. They fail? Actually lose their shit. Last semester this parent screamed and threw a stapler at my coworker, which scared her half to death (he’s a bigger man, she’s a smaller woman).
This semester, she refused to meet with him. She told our principal if he wanted to meet, they’d have to meet without her because she didn’t feel safe. The principal told her she would have to be in the meeting, so instead this coworker left early.
My colleague made me look over this kids final project to make sure her grading was objective. It was. I would have given the kid lower, honestly. Within 5 minutes of the grade going in, the parent sent an email demanding a meeting. She politely declined, saying the grade is final. The parent sent a dozen emails in the following hour. Then, the parent showed up to campus yelling and refusing to leave without meeting her.
Our principal told her that she has to be in this meeting. I’m sure they’re going to make her change this grade. Earlier today she told me she should just send an email to parents saying “what grade do you want your kid to have? I’ll just put that instead, since it doesn’t matter.”
This is the same principal who made her give a kid an 80% on a test he ADMITTED TO CHEATING ON, and was caught on video cheating because “it’s punishing him 3 times by giving him a conduct point, not letting him retake, AND giving him a zero and that’s just not fair.”

I am on my last week for one of my classes. The entire sem I’ve been dealing with very uncomfortable situations with my prof.
I will start off by saying I am a very quiet girl. Spoke when spoken to type of person and I’ve come to really not have an issue with it. Since the first week of class my professor has seem to have some kind of fixation on me. It started with her staring at me nearly all period, sometimes I’d stare back thinking maybe she was spacing out or trying to check if I was following along.
About 3-4 weeks into the course she was seeking for more class participation, in turn she began calling out specific students to come along and answer questions. This turned into her asking me nearly every time and after 3 weeks of it happening I caught on. She first present a question and then ask, “who wants to volunteer… no one … okay what about someone this area of the room (the side I am sitting on)… how about a girl… um (my name) how about u”. This was always so strange to me and it began my thoughts of her having some kind of fixation on me.
Move forward to the end of the semester, I got a D on a quiz and she asked me to speak to her, she then began to warn me about my grade (I had an over all A) loud enough for the class to hear 3 times. I was mortified but thought walking out of class would make me look like a b*tch to my class mates so I pushed through.
Next class she pulls me aside again to discuss my grade (still an A) and tells me I’m not in trouble she just wants to let me know she’s there to help if I need it. I thanked her and politely told her that she doesn’t not need to worry and told her I am fine with my current grade and she should be as well since I am.
I just needed to share and hear some options because I’m honestly weirded out…. My only thought is that she sees that I’m not a very social girl and wants to make me feel comfortable but it literally is doing that exact opposite

We have a 9 year old 60lb German shorthair pointelab mix who I think is between grade (or stage?) 2-3. We just put him on strict crate rest yesterday but I think he’s been struggling for longer than we realized, which makes me feel awful. He hasn’t didn’t drink anything yesterday and nothing today so far and will only eat the sausage we hide his meds in, and chicken. We have had a family vacation planned for a long time next week and I’m worried about him declining more while we are gone. My sister, who absolutely loves dogs and especially our dog is going to take care of him while we’re gone but won’t be able to be with him the whole time.
The whole story, for anyone who is interested/has had a similar experience and can offer advice- A few months ago we noticed our dog would yelp when lifting his head sometimes. But then he would act totally normal for a while. Then sometimes he began avoiding lifting his head, but then would seem normal. We also started noticing a tiny limp/one paw sounded heavier when walking, but overall seemed normal sometimes. We finally made an appt with or vet but had to wait 3 weeks for the appt. Then a few days before his appt we think he hurt himself badly getting out from under our bed (his absolute favorite place), to go bark at the door (our room is on the second floor too). He seemed in pain and was shaking and whining at me and I told my husband I think we need to take him to an urgent care vet. The vet tested his feet/leg reflexes and I think one paw was very slow to fixing itself but the others seemed ok. We got him on a muscle relaxer, carprofen, and gabapentin, and immediately barricaded our bed so he couldn’t go under it. The meds seemed to help him a lot. But then we noticed he was getting more wobbly so we still took him to his vet appt. The vet tested his reflexes again and it seemed like left front and back leg were struggling and he said he probably has a bulging disc in his neck and to keep doing the carprofen and gabapentin and have him rest. Fast forward to yesterday and we made an urgent care appt with our vet because he seemed to be getting even worse (falling over while going pee and poop). Now it’s effecting all of his legs with his rear right one being the most responsive. He didn’t even fix any of the other ones himself 😢. We did the first session of laser therapy yesterday and started the strict cage rest. I really wish the first vet, or even our normal vet last week would have specified strict cage rest. I think the vet visit yesterday aggravated things more because now he both doesn’t want to/is having an even harder time standing up and coming out of the crate. I bought a full body harness to help take him outside for potty, and I’m hoping it helps but also worried it will be hard for my sister to get him to come out of the crate and even get it on. I’m getting very overwhelmed and stressed and anxious and can’t stop googling and researching and thinking about anything else. We also have 4 kids (who looove him), one of which has severe non speaking autism. Life pretty much always feels stressful, which feels somewhat normal to us, but I think the upcoming trip is adding pressure and stress to the whole situation. How can I help him drink? I’ve tried putting the bowl in his crate, holding it in front of him and my husband even tried using a syringe to give him water last night which our doggo did NOT like. He can still stand and walk and pee and poop on his own, other than needing support to stay in position.

Is it the right time to start preparing for the CAT24? What about those who started early? what about those stories about those start even late.
I get these questions a lot of times. And CAT is quite an interesting exam in the sense that the number of days you prepare for it tell absolutely nothing about your preparation stage.
I usually get two kind of queries. First is asking if this month or that month is right time to start and prepare. Second one is number of hours required to prepare for CAT. Both are inherently wrong questions with no possible right answers. For months, I tend to say that CAT can also be cracked within 4 months or less if you inherently have some aptitude, even if that doesn't reflect in the first few mocks you take. And for hours, I usually suggest that if you start from scratch, approximately 1000 hours is what you are looking at. [200 hours per section to prepare i.e. 600 hours, 50 mocks with 6 hours each i.e. 300 hours of mocks (6 hours because mock + solve the entire paper + analysis) and another 100 hours for revision and making notes etc.]
Both of my answers (any such other answers) are actually partially wrong and misleading. I'm making this post to give you the real answer.
CAT Preparation needs to be done in three phases. In Phase One, you need to build your basic knowledge structure. This varies with sectionals and I'll explain for each section.
VARC Phase 1
Here, your basic knowledge structure involves,

1. understanding the pattern of exam.
2. Having a strategy for the exam (RC first then VA or VA first then RC, whatever works for you). Remember that whatever strategy you pick, you need to know why that particular strategy and not something else. If you don't know, it's best to start from question 1 and go to the end.

For me, I needed to read RCs first to get in flow, but I needed to be very attentive in VA. so I would do 2 RCs to get in flow, go to VA when I'm hyper focused, come back to other 2 RCs to end the section on a good note (VA was my weakness)
See how I personalized this based on when I'm most active and what's my weakness and what's my strength. You need to do the same for yourself. Don't try to sit and make it. I'll come naturally to you. If it doesn't come, It means you are comfortable with going in any order. That's good.

1. Having the ability to understand the passage.

Some people have this inherently. Most people have this in some subjects (like science) and don't have in it other subjects (like philosophy). While a few of you don't have it at all.
What you need to make sure is, when you read the passage, did you understand the entire passage like what exactly was the passage trying to say?
That's all for VARC Phase 1..
DILR Phase 1
This is fairly simple. Just go through different types of DILR questions. (If you are following my guide, just complete the rodha playlist I had attached there)
Quant Phase 1
Do a few arithmetic chapters. 3-4 basic chapters like Time Speed Distance, Ratio and proportions, Averages, Mixtures and allegations etc.
After doing this phase, here comes the phase 2 of your preparation.
VARC Phase 2
Here you need to go through different types of RCs and questions. Understand your shortcomings. Understand what mistakes you are making. (If You are following VARC1000, finishing it concludes phase 2)
DILR Phase 2
Here you develop your symbols and signs. You learn which table/diagram to make in which question. Like I would always represent certain things with some symbols (Circle for males, underline for females etc) So you kind of develop your own representation in this phase.
Quant Phase 2
In this phase, you finish your quants syllabus. It is here that many people decide whether to go for arithmetic algebra and geometry or go for arithmetic and algebra only or maybe add a number system. Whatever is the combination you wanna go with.
With conclusion of this phase, you stop practicing quants chapter by chapter all together.
VARC Phase 3
This is the final phase where you just keep giving mocks, analyse them and look for the mistakes you are doing. Did you read the question wrong? Did you miss some word in paragraph? were you stressed? were you hurrying? were you distracted? This phase ends whenever CAT happens. Else it just continues.
DILR Phase 3

Now let's try to see how much time should it take (in hours)
VARC Phase 1: Could be anything from 1 hour to 50 hours of rigorous reading or even more. DILR Phase 1: Should take considerable time. Around 50 to 80 hours on average but again could take more or less. Quant Phase 1: Depends on how good you are inherently at calculations. Do you need to remember 19×7 or you know it already? Do you remember value of 2^10? Do you recall formula for compound interest?
VARC Phase 2: You might understand your mistakes and fix them within a week and might not be able to do so after 8 months of preparation. Again entirely depends on you.
DILR Phase 2: How long does it take for you to understand which data should be represented by which diagram and which table? No one can tell you. You would find out yourself.
Quant Phase 2: This is something predictable and takes most of the time. But again this varies. Someone doing Algebra, Arithmetic, Geometry, Probably, Number System would take more time as someone going with Arithmetic and Algebra only. Some people do only Arithmetic and Algebra, get a very high strike rate of getting questions right and score good in QA. Others complete the syllabus and pick and choose the easiest questions in the paper. They also score well. Some do both, they are God level. So again, time taken here varies.
VARC, DILR, and Quant Phase 3
This phase continues till the exam comes. For some people, this phase is very long so that's how you find people who gave 70+ mock tests. But this phase is just about finding mistakes and not repeating them in the CAT exam so this phase could also yield results with 30 odd mocks. Again varies from person to person.
And now, you understand why it is stupid to answer if you are starting in the right month or how many hours it takes. The sooner you learn from your mistakes, the less time it will take. How quickly would you learn from your mistakes? Nobody knows. That's why you see cases with 3 CAT attempts and can't score more than 90 percentile, and scored 99%ile with 2 to 4 months of preparation.
The best way to go about this is, either you would learn from your mistakes quickly and hence you should attempt CAT 24, or you need a lot of time to learn, in which case you give CAT24 and then CAT25 in case you feel that's needed.

He says not to be worried about grade 3 since it was completely contained but I am - should I be? He does not believe I’d need immunotherapy. I’ll meet with my oncologist shortly and she is amazing so I know she’ll know best what to do just curious for any insight while I wait for those who have lived it. Most of things I’ve read with higher grades come along with higher stages.

I know I very young to even ask this question
My history : till age of 14 I used wet the bed not every day but like 3 days in week in my 15 and 16 I used wet the bed like once in 5-6 months from last 2 years I have not wet the bed ( no medication taken throught my life not even visited urologist ) last year one find day I had this frequent urge to pee like I went to washroom came again on bed and then after 3-4 mins again had urge to pee but now very less amount like finishing in 7-8 secs( idk if it's weird) this problem was not continuous like it happend only 2 -3 times in whole year lasted only for a day . ( Also In my childhood ( when I was in 3rd or 4 th grade ..I had to control the pee for hour or so due to travel or strict teacher in school)
Present : now coming to present I still do get occational frequent urges to pee in small amounts but it last only for 30 mins or less and then disappears for months. ( But I feel this happens on specifically those days when I drink lots of water I one sitting most probably after lunch )
