Only instance I see is Dark Side of the Moon at 28, otherwise there's... Kraftwerk TEE at 71... no Court of the Crimson King, Foxtrot, Close to the Edge, Moving Pictures, Thick as a Brick, Tubular Bells? Am I being unreasonable for thinking at least a couple of these should have placed?

2024.05.22 01:17 happycj DGR2024 photos?

Had a lovely time on Sunday doing the Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride (South Seattle group), and saw a lot of people taking photos and video... pros, amateurs, etc.
Where are these getting posted?
My group started off at Smarty Pants Garage in Burien. There was a designated photographer there taking pictures of people and their bikes in front of the ride banner. He got my photo... but I don't know who he is, or where he is posting his images!
There was also a rider with a drone who took a bunch of video of all the bikes when we stopped at Alki, then the Marina, and finally at Seattle Used Bikes.
A guy I rode with for the middle part of the ride was on a Thruxton and had a 360 camera that I must've been seen by for a good part of the ride.
And a woman came up to me and congratulated me on my outfit at SUB, and took a posed photo of me ... that I'd like to see, too!
Where is everyone posting their photos from the Seattle-area rides in particular? Do we have a place to look or a hashtag to search for? Thanks!

2024.05.22 01:14 Pandita_babe How do I make this more efficient?

How do I make this more efficient?
Recently started a new job I am well suited for and have plenty of experience but don't have a superior able to provide more specific guidance on their actual designing process. They outsourced the design part but utilize the run files and such for print. (There is minimal knowledge on illustrator from my supervisor)(I guess she may be my peer I am unsure but she is training me) Idk. I feel confident like they seem impressed but surly there is a better way to add color to and engineere drawings of vehicles.
My tow options so far have been -
Photoshop - a mix of tools primarily the paint bucket. Some creative selecting with the magic wand tool. Some masks. Some paintbrush.
Illustrator - it's imported as lines. Mostly non connecting. I copy the layer lock the lines on top. Select the bottom layer I convert those lines to shapes weld and shape builder tool the sections of background color.
This picture is pretty much what they look like. Perhaps the drawings are sloppy? But maybe they are creating so many and it needs to be really fast turnaround?
Any advice is welcome.

2024.05.22 01:12 _youneverknow_ Simple vertical wet venting between stories in Chicago?

Renovating two apartments in Chicago, moving plumbing to the exterior wall and hopefully adding a compact washer and dryer to each unit.
The kitchen sinks both drain to the same stack, please see the attached drawing: https://imgur.com/a/T9H9Iau .
Is this simple wet venting legal? In Chicago? I believe the horizontal wet venting is legal up to a certain length. If the vertical wet venting is legal, under what sizing constraints?
I can imagine adding a "vent stack" to run parallel to the main pictured, which would have to jog around the sink drains, but it complicates the design a lot.
Thanks for any advice offered :) .

Detachments and positions Within Our Unit

What are our Deployments like?
As a brief summary, our operations are fast-paced, well planned and well executed.
However, in more detail, our operations are greatly based on real-world situations that the UKSF detachments are involved in. The planning of our deployments usually commence upwards of 3 months before the first operation. This planning includes extensive research, "news reports" and intelligence documentation that our J-2 and SIS-MI6 staff create. Once our deployment has started, our operations are rich in detail, intel, and role-play interactions.
All of this culminates into a big picture which allows detachment commanders and staff to surgically strike to defeat or destabilise the enemy. If certain information is not accumulated or is not acted upon this could change the course and outcome of the campaign.
Our deployments can span over multiple maps to simulate multiple provinces and regions. We usually take between 6 to 8 weeks to complete our campaigns.

2024.05.22 01:03 COATstar (Hobby/RevShare) Snake lover looking for a team to make a snake pet sim

Heya! I apologize for the word wall in advance. I'm excited, lol.
As the title says, I'm a person who absolutely adores snakes. To make a long story short, I currently can't get any more than the 9 I already have, so I was looking for a snake pet sim game to live vicariously through, and... there's nothing! The closest I can find are OviPets and Xanje, but neither of those are very close and personal with your pets, so it doesn't scratch the itch.
So, I want to take matters into my own hands and bring that snake pet sim game into existence! I need help to do it though, as I'm admittedly not very skilled in programming, audio, and 3D model work.
In this team, I would be the 'snake expert' (so-to-speak) that guides how the snakes themselves should be implemented to capture the realism of having them as pets (i.e., what sizes their enclosures should be, what they should eat and how often, what temperatures and humidity their tank should be kept at, their body language and personalities, morph genetics, etc.). I'll also conduct interviews with other experienced snake keepers to make sure all of my information is as accurate as possible.
I'd also be primarily responsible for planning how the gameplay works and how the gameplay loop should go, but I also feel like that's something everyone in the team should be able to contribute to if they want to, so that's by no means something exclusive to me alone. Everyone can have a say there.
I will also do 2D art (though not in a realistic style). I can do icons, UI, and other misc stuff as we need it. While I don't see much writing being in the game beyond tutorials and descriptions, I'll contribute all of that, too.
As I also have actual snakes, I will also need to record examples of behavior from them for the team to use as needed.
What I'm looking for is:
-A coder. As I have no relevant experience here, the coding language and engine would be up to this person. As long as it's something that can do 3D games, export to PC, track the conditions the snakes are in and simulate some degree of their genetics system, I'm open to whatever engine and programming language the coder is most comfortable with.
-An audio designer, as no game is truly complete without SFX and background music. Snakes don't make a lot of noises, but the few they do make are important, and we'll need something to fill in all that silence snakes make.
-Someone - or multiple people - to take on the work of 3D assets. Modeling, texturing, animating, and rigging. I know these are all different skill sets so I'm perfectly willing for multiple people to take on various parts of this role. There would be the snakes obviously, but also other assets like decoration pieces to be made. A lot of the fun with snakes and other terrarium / vivarium / aquarium pets is decorating the tank they live in, and I want this game to be able to capture that.
As for how big the game is going to be, I don't picture this being a very big game. Something around the size of Wobbledogs. The gameplay itself could go on forever in the same save file if the player wanted, but the game itself wouldn't be all that complex and would take place in a set amount of space. On funding, my ideal plan would be to get a team that can make a demo, and then see how much crowdfunding money can be gathered on IndieGoGo. That money would be split evenly between all team members to help us during development. When the game is complete and goes up for sale, same thing- profits are evenly split.
If you're interested in joining this project, please get into contact with me! This is a game I'd love to make a reality! Thank you for reading <3

2024.05.22 00:38 Authorkinda Any clear areas to improve?

Hi! I was messing around doing some cover design concepts as a way to show a designer what I was picturing and it didn’t come out too bad. I highly doubt I’ll make my own covers at least not anytime soon. But I’m looking for feedback on areas to improve. I definitely need more work with lettering and getting it to look good. I did these in canva, so no fancy tools. The conch shell one was my first go.

2024.05.22 00:33 Thin-Camp5063 My client’s products are not great

I accidentally got a job that ended up being heavily on the graphic design side (I applied for english and aimed at being just a concept sketch/paint artist, they were really interested in my personal work), which I’m not happy about it. I thought I might work it out, but I have trouble working with the product my client is making (imagine a coin made from amber with white, lineart ship in the middle, text on top and bottom, that’s it). They don’t provide me with good pictures and I just struggle. It’s probably due to my own abilities as well (I finished one year graphic design school, figured out I just like to draw or paint freely), they don’t seem to want to let me go, but I’m very dissatisfied and honestly there’s not many jobs to get. Feeling drained, just wondering how I can combat this.

Would love to see your farm!
Now that I don't have to guess if the picture I'm looking at is from a modded farm or not this will be great!
Here's my year 9 perfection farm that I've been working on decorating. I had a purely utilitarian farm for the first 7 years and then slowly started transitioning after I got the most expensive golden clock I've ever purchased. This design is an amalgamation of many different designs I've seen on reddit so I take zero credit for the idea and full credit for my thumbs smashing buttons to move things around.

2024.05.22 00:14 terracottahoney I (32F) ghosted him (37m) after 1 year of empty promises I can't help but feel I owe him closure?

We met online with a 1.5 hour commute between us - It was lovebomb at first sight. The first date (june 2023) was magic spending 10 hours at the beach in the water. I had a feeling after just a week of knowing him... facetimes or texts every 3-5 hours, seeing each other every other weekend. It was lovely to have such an incredible connection with someone so quickly and crave them every moment of everyday. I really felt like this was it with the amount of attention/affection he gave me, we would surf and skate together. he said his dream was always to skate with a girl. he told me how important it was to have the same interests as your partner and we also were both into taking film photos and have really special memories captured.
The distance started to take a toll on us 3 months (September) in. It was our first sort of argument he picked about it being almost noon and we hadn't left the house yet to do what we said we would do I was ready and waiting for him to be done playing guitar. But this was all due to him waking up late per usual and his ADHD is so severe he has no idea how quickly time goes by while He will do 4 things at once and then complain about not enough time in the day.
We ended up breaking up because he kept saying "I don't Know" when I Would ask him what he wants. We both crying I packed all my things and then I said why don't we enjoy the day and do what we said we would do and then I'll go home. We ended up enjoying the afternoon and he cried to me about how he can't lose me and how foolish he was to start an argument.
OK fast forward 2 weeks in September we had plans to go camping for the weekend, I booked a dog sitter. the night he was planning to come over he cancels on because there is a rat in his house (he has 3 roommates and the kitchen and pans and cabinets were never cleaned). so I end up taking my oldest dog on the camping trip and leaving the younger one with the sitters. this was my first sign from the universe that things happen for a reason... keep reading.
Then in end of October. My old boy is sick I drive to Mexico for vet care and he offered to come with me both times and then said he had too much work. Mind you, he wakes up at 9am, clocks in from his bed, does his morning routine and doesn't start to work until 11am usually. He will go run errands in the middle of the work day, play guitar and complains about not being a good worker. He even told me a friend called him out for it because he had mentioned it to them a year prior. So he had been knowingly a poor worker for more than the time I have known him. I brushed it off since my dog was #1. 2 weeks later I take the second trip to Mexico which also happened to be the day after I had been put under for a broken finger from a surf accident. he did not come for my surgery to support me and i expressed concern on lifting my 80 lb dog with my finger freshly put back together with a metal plate. yeah he couldn't come he has work. I spend 8 hours in mexico going to 5 hospitals for my sick dog to find answers. while he ended up going to the skatepark after work. I went to stay at his house that night which was nice he setup a bed for me to lay next to my dog on the floor.
the next morning was Friday. I said ok I have to put my baby down this weekend he is so sick. he said ok I am coming over right after work to be with you. that evening he calls me. his friends brother is in town and he is going to go surfing in the morning (saturday) with them and come over right after. I said ok whatever. I was screaming inside.
he comes its fine. sunday I put my dog down. I have the vet come, before hand I had frequencies playing for my baby on spotify and he has the audacity to change it to youtube video to show my cousin a skate clip. I called him out and he dismissed me.
a week after my dog is put down we have another (many not even mentioned because its painful) butting heads episode of him telling me knitting is not faster than crocheting and he has the experience since he was around it when his friends crocheted so i should listen to him. mind you I have been crocheting for 10 years i have never knitted so i mentioned i was going to start knitting and he told me how much slower it is and i just genuinely don't know so i said oh I didn't know and I don't know what to expect and because I didn't say I believe you it was this terrible icky feeling in my gut I didn't even wanna talk to him anymore. I was telling him how excited I Was about something and he would always shoot me down. so I called him later that evening after work to discuss it and of course he is driving to the skatepark and he says he needs to go skate and feels bad energy after me calling him to talk about the knitting crocheting mishap and he goes "your life has been so depressing lately" and I was just so taken back by that and hurt I don't even remember what my response was but I should have hungup and never talked to him again. I don't remember what happened but I let it go.
then a couple weeks later (November) its 2 weeks from Thanksgiving, he says his roommate is making a fried turkey and invites me i am so excited because I am 2,000 miles from my family so I begin to prepare what meals I want to make. a week before Thanksgiving he facetimes me and says he has exciting news that hes going to mexico for thanksgiving to surf with his friends. I was so sad, I asked him why he would make plans in place of what we planned and he just said it was a special opportunity and so I felt i had no choice and didn't fight it. i realize at this point of typing all of this I enabled alot of this behavior.
that evening I sent a video message to him about how hurt I was and how inconsiderate he is of my feelings and the fact that I am his girlfriend and his friends and what he wants to do comes before me always. the next morning he apologizes via text and then is quite throughout the day which is very odd because he texts every 3 hours pretty much. I ask how his day is going and he says it started off shitty because of the message he received from me that morning, it wasn't the "best way to start the day". so again I am dismissed for sharing my feelings. and I let it go again.
Thanksgiving comes and I take my other dog camping to the spot I took my recently passed dog. Fast forward December he was visting at my house and I have been working on training my younger dog he has leash reactivity. I say "here" and treat dog when we pass other dogs so he associates quiet still behavior with a reward in this moment. Ok so then he suggests I teach dog a different word that would associate a dog is coming and that my dog needs to behave............ I said that is exactly why I say "here". He continues and starts to raise his voice, "you aren't listening to me, teach him a different word like leave it" and I said ok but he still isn't good with "here" so why would i give him another word to learn? it turned into an explosive fight. we broke up the next night and he is bawling his eyes out and so am I. a week goes by we get back together because I can't help but think he has potential to be this amazing partner he talks about all these things he wants out of someone and I check every box but he just would pick this random little arguments and then be so indecisive of what he wants to break up or not.
I told him how I wanted to do yoga teacher training he says "theres already a lot of yoga teachers". I told him I was going to costa rica with my girlfriend for a surf trip and he says "why would you go with her and not me? how long have you known her? your level of surfing isn't even at the par to go to costa rica" but he had already gone on 2 surf trips with friends. he would dismiss me time and time again. he would criticize everything I do. even telling him something I saw happen he would qualify everything I said and question what I saw was true.
His birthday comes in January and prior to this I told him how excited I am and important it is to spend brithdays together and shower each other. I make him a cake the night before and set up my dog for daycare. I drive to work keep his cake in the fridge and then after pick up dog from daycare and drive 2 hours to see him and celebrate. He then tells me he booked a trip to skate in Spain with his friends over my birthday. I was so heartbroken I wanted to throw up I asked him if he takes me seriously and he said yes of course and we both cry I am so furious I should have left but I didn't. I then tell him how disgusting his house and its been 8 months and hes never bought me flowers. the next day he brings flowers to the coffee shop I went to work at. I went back to his house after and broke up with him yet again. I burned a picture of him he gave me. I really tried to move on. he hurt me so much and would dismiss me all the time.
I don't know why but we got back together again. he started watching dharma talks I would send him (mindfulness talks, Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield, Ram Dass kind of stuff) because he knew how selfish and self centered he was and he admited it every time we broke up but made no effort and this last break up he really did seem to make an effort.
we didn't see each other for 40 days and he came over in April for a weekend we went to the art museaum he was in the middle of a story and we were getting kicked out I asked him if he can take my picture quick and he flips, "I can never finish a story it takes forever all the time" he takes my picture and then I stop being silent. I tell him you are the storyteller all the time I never tell you stories because its always about your stories I remind him I haven't been to an art museum in ages and i want a photo in that moment and your story already happened so why cant it wait a moment??? he then woke up a little and saw my perspective. and then the next day we went to surf, the surfboards are in the car we go thrifting and he says oh we can't be in there for even 30 minutes someone will steal the boards he had all this concern on the surfboards and I was like why did we come here then...? lets just leave but no we go inside and of course 15 min in he says ok! 15 more min! and then later that night I said why did you make such a big fuss and then you don't even live the truth you say? he says yeah I wanted to come apologize to you but I didn't and I am like are you kidding?! come on please I need you to take accountability for your actions this is part of being an adult!! and then he admits to being a "whiny baby" and I was like yes you are a huge baby and youre a grown ass man! anyways it was a very nice talk while I was actually able to talk and he was listening very well.
Ten days ago was my birthday, I went camping with my dog. He told me he would facetime me on my birthday he only sent a text in the morning from spain mentioning "I wish I could be with you" whatever crock of s*/t. he never called me. I saw his friends posting on IG though so I know they had Wi-Fi. I sent a picture of my camp and said "we made it, thanks for calling like you said you would :(" that was my last text to him.
the next morning he gave every excuse, "sooooo sorry I didn't get to facetime you" we were so busy blah blah blah. its like if you wanted to make the effort you would? sends another text asking how camp was and what are we doing that day and then another one 8 hours later apologizing saying how truly bad he feels and hopes I am willing to speak with him but could understand how I wouldnt want to and says he blew it.
I never responded. He never even tried to call me to apologize just 4 total texts. I blocked him from seeing my IG stories. I am so heartbroken that I spend a year thinking I was with this wonderful person who wants the same things as me to learn that all he wants is to skate and surf and not do any hard work or put any effort into life he has not made any growth the entire almost year I have known him.
I have made so many advancements in my own life. I sold my motorcycle, rented out my garage, laid brick in my yard by myself never offered to help, I starting selling all of my vintage at pop ups I did 3 and he never came to any. I broke my finger and put my dog of 11 years down. I have a really wonderful job and I also stick to my word and do what I Tell people I am going to do.
I can't help but be missing him. Wanting to work it out. I act impulsively quite often but I know in my gut this man would not stand up for me if times got tough like he hasnt this whole year. can people really change? do I owe closure to him?

“Incognito Market” Owner Arrested for Operating One of the Largest Illegal Narcotics Marketplaces on the Internet
This mothefucka is cooked. Incognito was one of the big boys on the darkweb. I never really used it much but had an account for awhile. If you were selling or buying from them we recommend you clean up your traces.
Rui-Siang Lin Used the Identity of “Pharoah” to Operate Incognito Market, Which Sold More Than $100M of Illegal Narcotics to Customers Around the World
Rui-Siang Lin, also known as Ruisiang Lin, 林睿庠, Pharoah, and faro, 23, of Taiwan, was arrested today in connection with his operation and ownership of “Incognito Market,” an online dark web narcotics marketplace that enabled its users to buy and sell illegal narcotics anonymously around the world. Lin was arrested at John F. Kennedy Airport on May 18, and will be presented in Manhattan federal court before U.S. Magistrate Judge Willis later today.
“Drug traffickers who think they can operate outside the law on the dark web are wrong,” said Attorney General Merrick B. Garland. “As alleged, Rui-Siang Lin was the architect of Incognito, a $100 million dark web scheme to traffic deadly drugs to the United States and around the world. The long arm of the law extends to the dark web, and we will bring to justice those who try to hide their crimes there.”
As alleged in the complaint and the indictment, Incognito Market was an online narcotics bazaar that existed on the dark web. Incognito Market formed in October 2020. Since that time, and through its closing in March, Incognito Market sold more than $100 million of narcotics — including hundreds of kilograms of cocaine and methamphetamines. Incognito Market was available globally to anyone with internet access and could be accessed using the Tor web browser on the “dark web” or “darknet.” Lin operated the Incognito market under the online pseudonym “Pharoah” or “faro.” As “Pharoah” — the leader of Incognito market — Lin supervised all of its operations, including its employees, vendors, and customers, and had ultimate decision-making authority over every aspect of the multimillion-dollar operation.
“As alleged, Rui-Siang Lin operated a sophisticated and dangerous online narcotics marketplace through which he profited millions of dollars at the community’s expense,” said U.S. Attorney Damian Williams for the Southern District of New York. “The dedicated prosecutors from the Southern District of New York and our law enforcement partners will pursue criminal actors regardless of whether they operate on street corners or in the dark corners of the internet. The so-called ‘dark web’ is not a safe haven for those who seek to break the law.”
“For nearly four years, Rui-Siang Lin allegedly operated ‘Incognito Market,’ one of the largest online platforms for narcotics sales, conducting $100 million in illicit narcotics transactions and reaped millions of dollars in personal profits,” said Assistant Director in Charge James Smith of the FBI New York Field Office. “Under the promise of anonymity, Lin’s alleged operation offered the purchase of lethal drugs and fraudulent prescription medication on a global scale. The FBI is committed to targeting and dismantling all criminal enterprises, especially those whose leaders distribute illegal substances on the dark web.”
“As alleged, Rui-Siang Lin’s brazen operation resulted in the illicit sale of over $100 million in narcotics, including those that were mislabeled and later found to include deadly fentanyl,” said Special Agent in Charge Ivan J. Arvelo of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York. “The defendant’s greed and disregard for others was further demonstrated by his alleged extortion attempt during the platform’s final days. The El Dorado Task Force’s Darkweb and Cryptocurrency Task Force leverages cutting-edge techniques to target even the Internet’s most savvy criminals. HSI New York, in coordination with law enforcement partners, remains resolute in its commitment to protecting the public from individuals utilizing dangerous means to make a profit.”
“The arrest of ‘Incognito Market’ owner Rui-Siang Lin is a result of the continued working relationship the DEA has with our law enforcement partners in targeting individuals who use the dark web as a marketplace to promote the sale of illicit narcotics,” said Special Agent in Charge Frank A. Tarentino III of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)’s New York Division. “Mr. Lin’s alleged actions of putting profits before public health were not only reckless and dangerous, but unconscionable. We will continue to make sure those who hide behind a keyboard and use the dark web to profit off lives face justice.”
“The FDA is committed to continuing its work to disrupt and dismantle the illegal sales of drugs on the dark web, where such sales far too often have tragic consequences,” said Special Agent in Charge Charles Grinstead of the Food and Drug Administration’s Office of Criminal Investigations (FDA-OCI) Kansas City Field Office. “We will continue to monitor, investigate, and bring to justice those who misuse the internet in a quest for profits with reckless disregard for the risk to public health and safety.”
“This arrest underscores the dedicated, ongoing efforts of law enforcement to identify and dismantle illicit drug networks operating from every shadowy recess of the marketplace,” said Commissioner Edward A. Caban of the New York Police Department (NYPD). “I commend our NYPD investigators and all of our state and federal partners for their unwavering commitment to public safety.”
Incognito Market was designed to foster seamless narcotics transactions across the internet and across the world and incorporated many features of legitimate e-commerce sites such as branding, advertising, and customer service. Upon visiting the site, users were met by a splash page and graphic interface, which is picture below:
https://preview.redd.it/8drkg58tqu1d1.png?width=624&format=png&auto=webp&s=c0cbec6731907f37812f45ca0ec4122445b5d995
After logging in with a unique username and password, users were able to search thousands of listings for narcotics of their choice. Incognito Market sold illegal narcotics and misbranded prescription medication, including, heroin, cocaine, LSD, MDMA, oxycodone, methamphetamines, ketamine, and alprazolam. An example of listings on Incognito market is below:

https://preview.redd.it/5c549kg1ru1d1.png?width=624&format=png&auto=webp&s=0292200ad4851e20832997586f1c270c842ae0c8
Listings included offerings of prescription medication that was advertised as being authentic but was not. For example, in November 2023, an undercover law enforcement agent received several tablets that purported to be oxycodone, which were purchased on Incognito Market. Testing on those tablets revealed that they were not authentic oxycodone at all and were, in fact, fentanyl pills.
Each listing on Incognito Market was sold by a particular vendor. To become an Incognito Market vendor, each vendor was required to register with the site and pay an admission fee. In exchange for listing and selling narcotics as a vendor on Incognito Market, each vendor paid 5% of the purchase price of every narcotic sold to Incognito Market. That revenue funded Incognito Market’s operations, including paying “employee” salaries and for computer servers. Lin collected millions of dollars of profits from Incognito. To facilitate these financial transactions, Incognito Market had its own “bank,” which allowed its users to deposit cryptocurrency on the site into their own “bank accounts.” After a narcotics transaction was completed, cryptocurrency from the buyer’s “bank account” was transferred to the seller’s “bank account,” less the 5% fee that Incognito collected. The bank enabled buyers and sellers to stay anonymous from each other. The bank’s graphic interface is picture below:

https://preview.redd.it/5geh77heru1d1.png?width=398&format=png&auto=webp&s=454cbec17a02083f40d7186882bfc215b81ff63f
If convicted, Lin faces a mandatory minimum penalty of life in prison for engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise; a maximum penalty of life in prison for narcotics conspiracy; a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison for money laundering; and a maximum penalty of five years in prison for conspiracy to sell adulterated and misbranded medication. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
The FBI, HSI, DEA, FDA-OCI, and NYPD investigated the case.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Ryan B. Finkel and Nicholas Chiuchiolo for the Southern District of New York are prosecuting the case.
This effort is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation. OCDETF identifies, disrupts, and dismantles the highest-level criminal organizations that threaten the United States using a prosecutor-led, intelligence-drive, multi-agency approach. Additional information about the OCDETF Program can be found at www.justice.gov/OCDETF.
An indictment is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

2024.05.21 23:47 FormulaFox Seeking suggestions on where to place shortcut keypad

Greeterlings everybody. So my full-size arcade cabinet is finally nearing completion, but I find myself in a bit of a conundrum...
You see, due to a combination of issues, I feel the need to get one of those mini-keypads you can get off Amazon to integrate into the cab to use as a shortcut keypad so I don't have to have a keyboard always on hand. I'm having trouble deciding where exactly to put it.
To be clear, I'm talking about something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Mechanical-Programmable-Keyboard-Portable-Shortcut/dp/B09Z3WFPF (note: NOT necessarily this EXACT item, but something along similar lines - alternative suggestions welcome) in order to map to shortcuts in MAME, TP, or other things that don't like using my Xinput-based control panel for shortcuts(and volume control should I get one with the appropriate knob).
I can place in the top left or right corners of the control panel, or any corner of the bezel, without blocking any unique graphics or getting in the way of control functionality. But I'm torn on where to put it for both aesthetics and convenience.
I'd post a picture of the cab to help make the aesthetic call, but at present is not in a state that would be helpful in that regard, so I figured I'd make the general inquiry for suggestions and then throw up photos once the cab is reassembled. I can point out that it is the Microcenter full size cab (with trackball) - the one that's almost identical to Game Room Solutions' original full-size design.

2024.05.21 23:44 TweeMansLeger My short review of the game (some word, location and riddle spoilers)

It is good, just not good enough

I get what the developers are going for and commend them for their hard work and novel idea. However, there is not much meat on this bone. For the 25 USD price point the game has not met my expectations. Combat is lacking, some mechanics are straight up bad and should be removed, and the game can soft lock you repeatedly during random encounters

The 'Wordle' part

The setup of the game is simple. You type words to execute an action or attack. You find new actions or attacks by revealing words one at the time per character. The way the game helps you discover the words is through combat, which reveals 1 letter you choose, or through riddles, where the letters in the answer will apply to all of the characters speeding up the discovery proces.

Combat

The combat is based on the player typing these discovered words.

Exploring

The exploring gets old quickly. All areas start to look the same. Rocks, grass, a wooden door and rampart. It never really changes. The black and white visuals do little to redeem this and perhaps even add to the repetitive look of the dungeon. The rooms you will explore can be quite big. As a dungeon crawler it makes sense you want to explore these rooms, but the game does nothing to reward you for it. You can waste a lot of time navigating all the nooks and crannies of the map, expecting perhaps a chest or puzzle, but instead be rewarded with more black and white walls.

Puzzles and Riddles

The riddles are great and are a nice addition to the game. The mental switch from 'Wordle Dungeon Crawler' to solving riddles is fun and feels good. Not all riddles are equal though, some are unoriginal and you've probably heard before many times whereas others are quite clever and new. The one thing they completely messed up is that not all riddles have the correct answer.
Early on the game acknowledges this in the tombs. The riddle "What has an eye but cannot see" can be given multiple answers and the NPC will reply with "I did not expect that particular answer but it is also correct so here is your prize". You can answer blind, needle or storm and all will be true and counted as such.
Later in the game this completely goes away. For example the riddle "What do you have but never use, and others use all the time" requires the answer "name", but a) you do use your name to introduce yourself and b) In that case something akin to 'your reputation' should also fit. Or Your phone number. There are many riddles that can be given multiple answers to in this game and I was hoping, due to the core mechanic being trial and error inputting words, the game would accommodate this throughout the game.
This makes solving riddles much more frustrating and less fun. It makes it feel abitrary. It highlights the fact that the 'dungeon master' that you interact with has much more limited interactions than you'd expect at first.
The game also has a big difficulty spike at Ulara castle when it comes to riddles. There is one where you straight up need create an algebraic function and solve it. It makes the pacing feel weird and the new area feel like a brick wall which I am sure will discourage a lot of players. You can have the narrator literally give you the answer after 1 or 2 tries, but for a game about solving riddles, where is the fun in that.

The story

You are probably not buying this for the story but rather for the gameplay mechanics described above. If you mainly want a good dungeon crawler story, this is not the game for you. The characters in this story are weak and interchangeable. Your party of heroes consist of mutes. The game tells you to talk to NPCs and interact with them using action keywords like 'talk', 'use' or anything contextual. But 90% of the time you can't talk to the NPCs and the dungeon master gives you the same reply again and again. 'You will talk when I will tell you to' as you roll your eyes and move towards the next door on your map. The fun and interesting parts in the story are few and far between.

Conclusion

The game has an insane amount of potential. It just needs a lot more polish and more thought into the design elements of the game. The gameplay loop could use a review. The combat needs a complete overhaul that caters more towards typing fast while remember the words you unlocked, removing the cooldowns or making them much short will be a great start. Currently the game to me is a 4 or 5 out of 10 because of the reasons mentioned above. With some more TLC it can be a 7 or 8.

2024.05.21 23:39 J3553-A Mad Catz Dual Force 2 Pro Review

Mad Catz Dual Force 2 Pro Review
I wanted to post a review of this controller after having played on it for a week in case anyone comes across this and you're in the market for a cheap PS2 controller (that isn't released by TTX). Mad Catz has a reputation for creating some of the worst 3rd Party controllers on the market, so I can tell that already raised a red flag, but my Dualshock 2 stopped working properly and I needed a replacement ASAP. I found this for $3 at a used game store. I got to say, it's not the worst thing ever. For a quick replacement that's only $3, I could see myself continue to use this for a while (at least until it starts developing issues like my DS2 did), whether it be as a prolonged replacement until I find a working DS2, or as a second controller. The biggest thing it has over the TTX controllers right off the bat is durability. I don't recommend testing it (which is not what I did), but I have accidentally dropped this onto a hard surface twice, and it did not feel like it was going to easily break once. The second thing is that the pressure-sensitive buttons work as intended, making games like Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 fully playable without the usual workarounds (MGS 2 & 3 don't require use of the pressure button functions, but it makes the game more fun if you do). All of the buttons feel exactly like they do on the DS2, but if there is one thing I will give TTX props for, it's that L2 & R2 feel much better to use on those that both this and the standard DS2, being that TTX's L2 & R2 buttons are inspired by modern trigger designs. The downsides of this controller are a couple of issues I had with the DS2 controller before this (before it completely stopped working), as well as some design flaws. The controller is susceptible to analog drift, and the cable can definitely break. In fact, I saw some early signs of both when I bought it. These are fixable issues if you know what you're doing however. As far as design flaws go, to start with, the rubber pads on the analog sticks you see in the picture are aftermarket. This is because the factory pads were almost damn-near worn out and I went ahead and replaced them. I recommend that you do too, a pack of these runs for about $4 before shipping and tax. The other striking design flaw is the placement of the Start & Select buttons. It is SUPER hard to get used to, and I still have trouble getting used to it, but that's just me. There is also an extra button, and that is the Macro button. Supposedly, it acts as a turbo button of sorts, but I do not have a manual for this thing so I have no idea how it works. If you want to know how this button works, I suggest looking for the manual online. Overall, not bad for a temporary replacement, but it is so similar to the DS2, that I can't recommend it as a permanent replacement, only a temporary replacement or as an extra for when you want to play multiplayer games. If any of you have experience with this controller, LMK what you think.

2024.05.21 23:30 Moturnach Question for dedicated camp builders, what can you recommend for Swamp build?

I have idea for camp and i want to check the parts im missing.
Depending on if ill manage to build it in way i want, but im looking forward to making some swamp related camp and im planning to try to build one under the bridge to make something looking like outpost, or if i will find a really good place, something like a hanging out house using one of the columns of the bridge as foundation for whole structure.
What would you recommend to fit this idea? Im looking for Free States Bundle just because it have fitting design for my theme, like defensive structures, so you can use it as example of what im looking for.
Stuff im currently having:
Vault Catwalk bundle (bought this one for building shenanigans)
Vines Bundle(just because again building shenanigans+ i really like how they looks, do planning to use one to make camp a bit more themed towards swamp one)
Polished Enclave Turrets set - I don't really like default turrets, these is much cooler+ as far as i got, more effective. Definitely will use couple just for cool look.
Succulent set - kinda fits theme + i like cacti + it was really cheap.
Overgrown vehicle - very fitting theme+ I definitely will find it a place in camp.
Fanatics Barricade - very cool looking + kinda fits my idea.
Also i have almost all stuff from Aliens and Mothman Equinox events, if its matters.
I also have majority of free plans,as well as Super Reactor and Solar Panels(Will use one or another obviously, in case of Super Reactor i think i just make it a centerpiece and build stuff around it because despite being massive, it should look awesome as part of building. Solar panels is just very convenient silent source of electricity+ they look quite good when grouped together)
Also i have every non FoF item from current seasons till 11 page, currently sitting at rank 80, planning to get all stuff from bonus page, especially cabin set.
Among those I have Grass Roof is probably worth a try.
So what do you recommend to look at? Im planning to use Steel set mainly just because it looks more fitting for outpost theme. I don't mind to make it look partially junky like intentionally adding wooden/brick stuff to Steel building to imitate quick repairs.
So what do you recommend to look at?
Additional question, is there a set/stuff that adds a different kinds of half or quarter floors except default ones?
Reason why im asking its Utility Room shelter that im planning to turn into mini bunker that will be a part of outpost. Since the narrow room fits only 1,5 big foundations in narrow spaces i can't use floors from Catwalk bundle without mixing it with wooden floor and ceiling(metal one is transparent and i cant put wallpaper on Floor cells to make them more metal-looking, so i also look at ways to improve this because i often use those). Its can be decorated of course, but im curious if something like that exists.
Another thing id like to ask. Is it possible to make independent second floor to be able to rotate it and get a bit more interesting construction than regular 2 floor building? Something like imitation of ship containers stacked one on top of another as crudely as possible or something similar.
P.S. Sorry for a lot of questions, just curious because i know what i want to build, but just looking for fitting stuff to get from Atomic Shop or probably elsewhere.
P.P.S I really wanted to buy FoF for month for freebies but for whatever reason i can't buy it via Windows Store for Ukraine.
