Third-Eye Beam Two Person Meditation Technique

2024.05.15 20:16 oloIMPOSSIBLEolo Third-Eye Beam Two Person Meditation Technique

I noted my experience with a two-person meditation technique last week in response to another post about meditation, and said I'd post a full explanation of my response later. Here are two accounts of why I stopped the practice, alongside a bit of pre-amble for establishing a couple of important things.
In 1999 I was practicing kung-fu, yoga, and tai chi with a very long-time practitioner
of interdisciplinary martial arts, their histories, and spiritual principles. We practiced some or all of the disciplines every day, for hours, and often very long sessions. I was 20 in 2000, and he taught me a two-person meditation technique he called the Third Eye Beam.
To this day, I have not found any written history of this technique on the internet, or in any academic papers, or in martial arts, or spiritual literature, which is astonishing, as that means until my writing of this, it was an entirely oral tradition, which also seems impossible. So, if you can find any literature on the technique I'm about to describe, I would ask that you PM me, or place it as a link in here, as to my knowledge there is none.
I do not recommend practicing this in any way and will note the reasons at the end. It seems like a volatile practice, and for me, had unexpected and potentially dangerous results.
Third Eye Beam: two people sit in full lotus position between two-ten feet away from each other. Both people look into each other's eyes with a total focus. The two participants begin om-ing in unison until a consistent flow and breath practice is as exact feeling for both as possible. The two practitioners then both cross their eyes, which creates three eyes in each person's visual field. (The crossing of the eyes is similar to the floating finger, where a person holds two fingers out in front of them, crosses their eyes and sees one floating finger in the middle.)
Both people continue to om and both focus on the third eye in the middle. The om-ing and focus on the third eye continues until either person closes the session in whatever manner they close the session, which could be simply looking away, or turning away, etc. The above is the entire practice as it was taught to me and as I practiced with the teacher, and a few other people.
I do not know what this creates other than a sense of connection and awareness, but other things happened on several occasions that caused me to stop the practice in any way. Practice at your discretion, I have no idea what the outcomes might be.
  1. I was practicing this a friend who was a professional musician with a record deal one night at his small rural house. He was also taught this practice by the teacher. We we're om-ing about seven feet away from each other and in the full practice focusing on each other's middle eye. The colors in the room began to appear very fluorescent to me, which was whatever.
I then sensed a presence behind him, at which point he began to rock back and forth laughing hysterically. I then saw a purple aural being stand up out of his body. It then began to march aggressively and quickly toward me. I was terrified and brought my hands out of the lotus meditation position at my sides and clapped my hands in front of my face very hard. He immediately stopped laughing and did the same thing.
I don't know what was, or why he was laughing, but I felt it was not safe. I told him about it, and he said, he didn't feel anything, and just wanted to laugh.
  1. I decided to experiment with the practice outside of what had been taught. I was sitting outside of where I worked, and I looked at a man who was walking into the store 40-50 feet away and see if there would be an affect. I focused on the middle of the three visual items of him, I did not om, I just focused. His walking posture began to change, and he slowed down to about a quarter of his walking speed, but stayed oriented toward where he was walking, i.e. he didn't look at me. He then slowly reached into his pocket, took out a pocketknife, and slowly opened it. His body began to turn toward me, but his head did not. He began to walk toward very slowly me. I stopped "beaming" him, he switched back into his original posture, looked at his knife in his hand in a very confused way, closed the knife, put it in his pocket and walked into the store.
That was the last time that I tried this, both of those experiences with the third eye beam were within a 30-day period in 2001 or 2002 in the summer.
I also practiced with a handful of other people, including the teacher, at least fifty times, and the above is why I stopped.
I'm happy to answer any questions, but it's still puzzling to me, that this technique, whatever it is, is not out there anywhere to my knowledge but have clear affects, so, like I said, if you have any information drop a link or PM me.
Also, I think it's a very specific practice, and am not sure what all the outcomes could be, or why, with all of the yogic and energy practices that are so common in the public eye these days, that even those practitioners don't talk about it, or know about? I’ve asked many, just in a cursory, have you heard of this thing where two people om with their eyes crossed and focused on the third eye in the middle. They did not, but why?

2024.05.15 19:36 nednettic Just Got My Bilateral Salpingectomy Done in Michigan!

Hello everyone! I found other posts about people talking about their biscalp experience super helpful leading up to my surgery, so I wanted to post my experience as well! I just had my surgery Monday morning, about two days ago.
I'm a 31 cisgender white woman, and I got my procedure done through University of Michigan Health. Honestly, I had such a positive experience! I've never had any kind of surgery done before, so I didn't know how my body would handle it. I'm also heavier, and I wasn't sure if my weight would be an issue. Long story short, I had zero issues or complications, and my surgery only took 37 minutes!
The entire care team was super warm, and I had a lot of people checking in on me, going over the procedure, and so on. Since U of M Health is a big teaching organization, it felt like I had double the people checking on me - both the seasoned doctors/nurses/anesthesiologists and the younger residents. Honestly, it was more comforting than I expected, and I was happy that the majority of my care team, including my surgeon and surgical resident, were women!
They gave me warm blankets after I changed into my gown, and it took them a bit of time to find a vein for my IV. My hand is a little bruised since they couldn't find a good vein there. I'm actually glad they went with my inner elbow instead - hand IVs suck imo. They gave me Tylenol and anti-nausea meds orally and started the IV.
Then, various people stopped by to review recovery, confirm the procedure, and do the anesthesiology checks. They also took my post-op snack and drink requests! I probably waited like 30 minutes in pre-op, and we actually got to go to the OR ahead of schedule. When it was time to go, things kicked into motion pretty quickly. They gave me some medication in my IV that "would make me feel like I had a few stiff drinks." Things got fuzzy at this point, but I think it was like some kind of anti-anxiety med. They rolled me into the OR, where I scooted over to the operating table. They started doing all their verbal checks, and they gave me a mask with oxygen. I remember being told to breathe deeply, then I think they said they were switching to the anesthesia. I was out immediately, and I remember absolutely nothing past that point!
During my surgery, my partner got text updates in the waiting room, and he went to the in-house pharmacy to get my post-op meds. The surgeon called him when the surgery was over and said it went well! They kept him in the waiting room until I started waking up. The surgery itself only took 37 minutes, and they said I slept afterward for about 40 minutes or so.
When I woke up, I actually felt pretty good! I wasn't in much pain at all, and I was able to have relatively lucid conversations. I got ginger ale, crackers, and graham crackers, and the nurse made sure I took my time waking up. Apparently, I started humming/singing Hot to Go while I was coming to 😂. The nurse took off the various stickers and the puffy leg things they put on you in surgery. I felt like I had to pee, so I slowly got dressed and went to the bathroom with my partner's help. Turns out I didn't really have to pee, it was more just a feeling of pressure.
After I was more awake, my partner pulled the car around and they sent me on my way!
They called the morning after to check up on me. They also gave me laparoscopic photos of the surgery, which I wasn't expecting! They are both weird and fascinating to look at. One of my surgeons wrote, "No tubes!" in one of the post-scalp photos, lol. In my patient portal, there are also fairly detailed descriptions of how the anesthesia and surgery went.
I was prescribed Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Miralax, and five Oxycodone. I've been taking the first two in shifts, and I only take the Oxycodone to sleep. I've taken the Miralax a bit. Granted, I only had my surgery on Monday (two days ago), but I've been able to use the bathroom. I'm also drinking a ton of water, ginger ale, and kombucha.
For recovery, the biggest things have been keeping cats off my lap, avoiding any sort of strained movements, using lots of pillows to get comfy, and working with my appetite. I'm not really nauseous, but only certain things sound good. I've been using a lot of pillows to get comfy on a recliner, and I'm trying to both get up and walk a bit without overdoing it. I have a bit of shoulder discomfort, and my throat is still kinda sore and phlegmy from being intubated. I also just feel generally wiped out. My incisions are sore, but honestly, it's not bad. My abdomen is tender and bloated.
So now it's just the 4-week recovery period. No heavy lifting or strain on the abdomen for 4 weeks, which includes things like vacuuming. And, no using tampons for two weeks.
I don't want to jinx myself, but the whole thing is not as bad as I anticipated. Obviously, everyone's body is different, but I hope this helps put some folks at ease - it can go really smoothly! My surgeon is seriously a wizard. She thought she might have to make a larger incision since I carry weight around my belly, but she didn't! And I can't get over how quickly it went! I appreciate how much information I got about the surgery, too.
I feel lucky that I had such a positive experience. It's a huge weight off my shoulders, and I'm super proud that I took this step!

2024.05.15 19:17 lambchopsuey The SGI-USA's generational bottleneck

One of the fascinating aspects of outsider reports and analysis is what they see. Given that at this point (1992) the internet was not yet widely available/accessible, this sort of thing would have been difficult to find. And of course SGI wasn't ever going to tell us the truth!
This will show you that SGI-USA (then called "NSA") was failing in recruiting far earlier than perhaps most of us in the US realized. SGI in the USA was basically a flash in the pan; it fizzled fast; and now it's just that rank stale smoke smell that lingers long after the fire's been put out.
This comes from Cults and Nonconventional Religious Groups: A Collection of Outstanding Dissertations and Monographs, "Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism and the Soka Gakkai in America: The Ethos of a New Religious Movement", Jane Hurst, 1992, pp. 150-151. Jane Hurst has some interesting research out there; while she tends toward being uncritically supportive of SGI, anyone who is making statistics available is a big help.
NSA members in the 1960s and 1970s were young (52% below age 30), more than half female (59%), and from a variety of occupations and social classes.
The Baby Boom generation were at most age 19 in, say, 1965 and at most age 24 in 1970.
This youthfulness is largely reflected in the early organization's origins in the American servicemen who returned from being stationed in Japan with their Japanese war-brides - those servicemen tended to be young and from a variety of ethnicities and backgrounds, as the draft was still in effect during that time period (ended March 1975). In addition, the first General Director of the US organization, Masayasu Sadanaga, initially targeted college campuses for recruitment by offering lectures on Buddhism. Sadanaga changed his name to George M. Williams in 1972, in obedience to the (short-lived) direction back then of Japanese leaders adopting American-sounding names (first AND last) in order to appeal more broadly to non-Japanese Americans.
The percentage of Oriental members steadily decreased as more and more white and black Americans joined NSA as seen in Figure 10, above.
Figure 10 (I'll get to that line in another post.)
Ewps - Here's the REAL Figure 10.
Most of the original "Oriental members" were those Japanese war-brides, whose first efforts to recruit new SGI members were directed toward other Japanese individuals.
NSA members came from the major religious traditions of Protestantism (30%), Catholicism (30%), and Judaism (6%). At the time these 1971 statistics were compiled, all areas of American society. By 1983, the age span was even more broad, with 11% of the members age 50 and above, 62% ages 30-49, 24% ages 20-29, and 3% below age 19.
For reference, here are the age ranges for the existing generations in 1983:
While these 1983 statistics aren't broken down by generation, here's what is clear:
This means that 97% of the membership of SGI-USA was Baby Boom generation OR OLDER!

IN 1983!!

Notice how this affirms the demographic estimate from this other research: "Soka Gakkai in America": Little appeal/interest outside of Baby Boom generation
Take a look at Table 4.
Specifically, the Age cohort (%) category.
For the Converts, 26% are older than Baby Boomers; 61% are Baby Boomers. That makes 87% Boomer and older. Only 14% are younger than Boomers.
No wonder SGI-USA is aging and dying, with these kinds of numbers!
We are seeing, like, 90% Baby Boomers in the group photos we've looked at.
The pictures back this up.
Also, this comment by an SGI-USA leader a few years ago during Minoru Harada's visit (anyone know what year that was?):
They [top SGI-USA leaders] then went off on how when we create these big-ass meetings, we shouldn't have to look into the crowd and see, and I quote, "A bunch of old-ass motherfuckers" The words of my "superiors", not mine. I think this is when they brought up the idea of 50K to my co-leaders and me. Source
"Old-ass motherfuckers" is all they have. How 'bout showing a little of that appreciation and gratitude SGI bangs on about??
Worse, "old-ass motherfuckers" is all SGI-USA can get.
Further, again referring to Table 4, SGI-USA's membership is solidly 2/3 women. That means it's going to be very difficult for women in SGI-USA to find mates to marry, which means childlessness will be more of a norm than an exception. Child-free is a valid and respect-worthy decision, don't get me wrong, but a religion's most reliable source of younger members is its own membership's children. Since SGI-USA's female members don't feel any responsibility or obligation to bear multiple children (like those poor, stupid Mormon sheepwomen do), there won't be any next generation to take over.
There's a reason so many religions have traditionally exhorted their membership to have lots of babies, why they condemn birth control and abortion. A big part of it is to keep their own numbers up! Source
It's the same problem happening in Japan within the Soka Gakkai:
On the other hand, aging is relentless. In terms of the Soka Gakkai's membership demographics, the "volume zone" where most members fall is the baby boomer generation who joined by the 1960s. They are now late elderly. In the past, the management of centers in various places was handled by the "Gajokai" consisting of Young Men's Division members, but it is no longer possible to secure personnel. Instead, in 2009, the Soka Gakkai launched the "Ojokai'' consisting of "middle-aged divisions,'' scolding them as "young people in their 50s'' and rushing to mobilize them. Source
GOOD LUCK!
For perspective, note that SGI-USA was managing to recruit just "1,000 per YEAR" - including all ages - between 1991 and 1999. Eight years of only 1,000 members added per year, with no accounting for the deaths or defections. Were the years after that more successful, recruiting-wise? I doubt it.
[Then-SGI-USA's public-relations director for the East Coast Bill] Aiken says SGI-USA has attracted about 1000 new members per year for the past eight years. - from 1999. Only 1,000 new members - across the ENTIRE 360+ million-person strong USA - in an ENTIRE year. And this extremely low level of success for EIGHT YEARS IN A ROW!! Source
From 2018:
In recent years, the number of young Soka Gakkai members has been decreasing rapidly . Looking at the participants in the simultaneous broadcasts and roundtable discussions, the majority are of the grandparents' generation, with only a small number of young people in their 20s and 30s, and the number of teenage boys and girls is almost an endangered species .
Therefore, what I am interested in is the population of Soka Gakkai by age group. This time, I would like to estimate the current population of Soka Gakkai by age , based on information I have personally seen and heard and verification from others . Please note that this estimate is very rough.
First, the largest number of Soka Gakkai members are baby boomers (born between 1947 and 1949 [Japan's Baby Boom]). This seems almost certain considering the history of the development of Soka Gakkai .
Also, the total number of members has already been verified by many people, and is estimated to be around 3 to 5 million people. This time we assume about 4 million people .
And this is what I heard directly from a staff member at headquarters last year, who said , `` The number of activists decreases by about 1/3 with each generation.'' I think this is a reasonable rate of decline that can be felt by looking at participants in simultaneous broadcasts and roundtable discussions. It seems that members who have stopped being activists are less likely to have their children join, so this time we will use a value of 1/3 per generation as the member decline rate .
Also, regarding the number of years it takes for generational change, the average age for men and women to give birth to their first child is currently 30 years old. Considering that the average age of childbearing for both men and women when the baby boomer generation was born was 24 years old, and that there are cases where not only the first child but also the second and third children are born, the generational shift will take 30 years. Let's calculate it as if it would take a year . In that case, the annual membership attrition rate would be (1/3)1/30 = 0.964, or 3.6% .
It is unclear when this trend of declining membership started, but this time we will assume that it started in the year following the baby boom generation (1950). Source
And "Soka Gakkai is like an old people's club":
Regarding the problem of a decline in Komeito votes, or in other words, a decline in active Soka Gakkai members, many people concerned point out that the primary cause is the aging of Soka Gakkai members. The enthusiastic members of the generation who supported the growth of the society along with charismatic Honorary President Daisaku Ikeda are now elderly across the board. Most of the current new members are second- or third-generation members who join because their parents are members of Soka Gakkai, and they are not very enthusiastic about Soka Gakkai's activities. Today, many of Soka Gakkai's daily events are even derided by insiders as "like an old people's party."
And a more recent report (this year):
Back about 20 years ago a good friend and good guy, now deceased, from ChiTown, was commissioned by SGI Central Command to survey every contactable member of SGI in every district in America. The number he came up with was 5% of the number of Gohonzon passed out since, I guess whenever Gohonzon started to be passed out. The total number was about a million give or take, 20 years ago. These were contactable people, not practicing members. I remember going through lists of people we had on the books and trying to see if they could be reached. So the number we came up with was reported. Hearing nothing about it, I happened to run into my friend at some event at Soka U. He mentioned that he did the survey, and gave me the results. I believe he told me the facts. (Not everyone who practiced was a lying asshole.) So about 20 years ago SGI had about 50,000 “contactable“ people who had received Gohonzon. My estimate that about half of that number had zero interest in SGI. Thus 20 years ago, SGI had about 25,000 members still interested in SGI in some capacity. I think it’s the same number today. (2500 districts x 10=25,000.) Like I said before I went to FNCC twice last year, and everyone, including me, were old zany seniors. Neither conference was for old people. Conclusion: SGI is a senior citizen support group. When I joined in1969, we were all hippie ish, rejecting all the old shit, looking for something new and hip. Now SGI looks like old shit. Source
And another (this year or last):
When I joined 50+ years ago the ratio of youth to MD and WD was about 80:20. Now it's the reverse. Our goal is to move steadily back to a youth focus again. Source
Except it's obvious that SGI-USA doesn't HAVE "20% youth":
Youth? They've got to be fooling themselves!!! When I was still with the SGI last February (2023), I went to the kosen-rufu gongyo meeting at the center in my area. Mind you, the state I live in closed its center in 2021 for undisclosed reasons. That aside, the one I went to was in another state, and at that meeting, they had no byakuren, Gajokai, or Soka Group in attendance. Additionally, the only youth at the meeting were a few small children. Source
I feel that SGI is out of touch with anyone who’s younger than 60. The leaders are retired, have a lot of time on their hands and completely disregard the fact that people may work or have families. For young people it’s the old people taking nonsense. Source
The PROBLEM was already evident in 1983 - and none of the SGI-USA's big "Recruit-Youth-A-Thons", like "Victory over Violence" and "Rock The Ego Era" and "50K Liars of Just-Us" (everybody wants to forget the epic fail that was the "Gandhi, King, Ikeda" exhibit), has made the slightest difference in this demographic disaster. In fact, preparing for the 2018 "50K" event, SGI-USA likely had only 2,451 members in the 12-35 (or perhaps 11-39) age group, just 9% of the most generous SGI-USA active membership total (~30,000).
Ikeda could have preserved a "youthful" Soka Gakkai by passing the Presidency to a younger candidate, but Ikeda refused, because Ikeda was too focused on and obsessed with HIMSELF - his power, his prestige, his wealth, his status, his fame, his renown, HIM becoming leader of the world, his PERMANENCY, and his legacy. He refused to let anyone else come anywhere CLOSE to the power and control - he greedily, selfishly clutched it all tightly to himself and refused to share.
THAT is why the Ikeda cult Soka Gakkai/SGI is aging and dying. It's ALL Ikeda's fault, Ikeda's responsibility. IKEDA DID THAT.
Some "mentor". Source
SGI-USA has never managed to recover from that demographic bottleneck that happened no later than 1983.

2024.05.15 18:33 peivien Office Chair recommendations - Australia

I have been using the "Ergoduke" chair for 2 years now - it was fine for the first year or so when I wasn't sitting at my desk for really long periods. I am now having unbearable back pain and am in dire need of a new chair.
The new chair needs to be suitable for 10-12+ hours of work per day. I also have 2 cats that will sratch the chair - so leather would be unsuitable. I'm approx 5'3 tall and like a chair with a high back.
Some features that I would like are:
I have considered the following options: \PS. I cannot afford a herman millar and do not have a desire to look for a second hand one, thank you :)**
Ergohuman 2 Luxury $920 Pros: Has all of the adjustable features I am looking for. Cons: It has a mesh seat and I can't test the chair out. It is also quite expensive $$$.
Sihoo M57 $338 (on sale) Pros: Nice and adjustable, great reviews. Cons: It has a mesh seat, the seat tilts back with recline, and I can't test it out.
Markus Ikea office chair $249 Pros: Great reviews, cushion seat, seems ok. Cons: The arm rests are not adjustable at all, not sure how ergonomic it truly is.
JÄRVFJÄLLET Ikea office chair $349 Pros: Cushioned seat, adjustable lumbar and arms etc. Cons: Reviews are questionable, not sure how it is for long hours.
Secretlab TITAN Evo $799 Pros: Super cute, love the style, ergonomics seem OK. Cons: Reddit reviews are questionable, it is a "gaming" chair so I am not sure how ergonomic it truly is for long hours. It is also quite $$$.
Please give me your recommendations or reviews, thank you in advance <3

2024.05.15 18:20 quadrupleghost Feeling defeated by TSH and lipid panel. Connected or no?

After over a year of increasing Tirosint alongside my TSH quickly dropping to a decent level, then rising up once again, it’s back to where it started. After it being less than 1 ulU/mL ~4 months ago. I thought it was taken care of, as long as I kept taking the meds. Nope.
Just got my annual physical bloodwork back, too. Super high cholesterol and trigylcerides, despite me believing I was doing well with my dietary choices (for an American with ARFID). I’m not overweight, but “looking healthy” means absolutely nothing.
The endo PA I see said that there’s no correlation whatsoever between cholesterol/triglycerides/diet and Hashimoto’s. But other sources say there is a connection. Ok…
Are they connected or not??? Seems like an important thing to know definitively.
I don’t know why almost all of my general bloodwork looks great, but my lipid panel is so horrific. Not to mention having high cortisol since at least 2009, but they don’t add that test to my bloodwork unless I specifically ask.
I take my thyroid dose every morning and wait an appropriate period of time before ingesting anything afterward, but still it fails.
Dealing with all these health problems alone, with only the doctors to speak to about it, is grinding me down into a shell of a person. My family could not care less and consider me a malingerer. Them listening to me vent isn’t on the table.
I feel crushed that all the adjustments I’ve made to my diet to improve my lipid panel results yielded higher numbers than before, and my mind can’t really blame my thyroid acting up bc I’m told it’s completely unrelated. I’m not even running in place, I’m getting worse.
It would be a comfort if the thyroid meds would work consistently so I can focus on my other issues, but they aren’t. I have no energy anyway, but am still wasting what little I do have on being upset.

Current published resources for both of the Cañariaco Norte and Cañariaco Sur deposits (previously reported in News Release dated January 28, 2022) includes Inferred Mineral Resources along with a significant percentage of Measured and Indicated Resources. Inferred Mineral Resources are considered too speculative geologically to have economic considerations applied to them that would enable them to be categorized as mineral reserves and there is no certainty that the 2024 PEA will be realized. Mineral resources that are not mineral reserves have not demonstrated economic viability.
An independent technical report for the 2024 PEA,prepared in accordance with NI 43-101,will be available under the Company's SEDAR+ profile and website on or before June 7, 2024.
For readers to fully understand the information in this news release, they should read the technical report in its entirety when it is available, including all qualifications, assumptions, exclusions and risks. The technical report is intended to be read in its entirety and sections should not be read or relied upon out of context.
An updated Corporate Presentation will be available on the Company's website at www.altacopper.com
Giulio T. Bonifacio, Executive Chair, commented "We are extremely pleased with our 2024 PEA which is well advanced as we have clearly benefited from several previous engineering studies and a wealth of experience from our external international engineering firms. This PEA will prove of great value as we advance Alta Copper to the next stage. The PEA shows that Cañariaco is clearly a Tier 1 asset that provides a long-life, large-scale copper project producing annual average copper of 158,000 tonnes per year in the first 10 years. The Cañariaco project is economically robust with considerable leverage to increasing copper prices while also possessing considerable upside through resource expansion drilling with numerous high priority drill targets identified to date at Norte, Sur and the undrilled Quebrada Verde porphyry target".

(5) AISC consists of Cash Costs plus sustaining capital and closure costs.
NPV Sensitivities
The sensitivity analysis provides a range of outcomes for the Project when the key parameters vary from their base-case values. The NPV estimate is most sensitive to changes of metal prices, resource grade, overall operating costs and capital costs as illustrated in Figure 1 and 2.
The After-tax NPV ranges from US$2,054 billion to US$4,011 billion as the applied Copper price varies from US$3.85/lb Cu to $5.00/lb Cu.

Project Description
The Cañariaco Project is situated within the Province of Ferreñafe, in the Department of Lambayeque, in northwestern Peru, approximately 700 km northwest of Lima, the capital of Peru, and approximately 102 km northeast of the city of Chiclayo. Current access from Chiclayo to the Cañariaco Project is 150 km along a paved road followed by secondary gravel roads.
The project area covers moderate elevations ranging from 2,200 to 3,600 metres ("m") above sea level. The copper deposits are situated on the eastern side of the continental divide and infrastructure will be on the top as well as both western and eastern sides of the divide. The topography varies from steep incised valleys at lower elevations to open grassy highlands at upper elevations. There is sufficient suitable land available within the concessions and close to the mining areas for the process plant, ancillary infrastructure and comingled waste rock and dry stack tailings facility.
The 2024 PEA contemplates that Cañariaco would be mined using conventional open pit mining equipment followed by crushing, SAG/ball mill grinding and flotation recovery of copper, gold and silver to a copper concentrate.
Cañariaco is estimated to have relatively low project capital and operating costs due to proximity to infrastructure and favourable natural setting with key features as follows:
  • Large scale mining and processing operation to process 120,000 tpd/43.8 million tpa with a currently planned 27 year mine life;
  • Conventional drill and blast mining, large scale electric shovels and haul trucks;
  • Conventional crushing, SAG and ball mill grinding followed by flotation recovery of copper, gold and silver to a copper concentrate;
  • Application of best practice process tailings management through comingled waste rock and filtered dry stack tailings storage;
  • Water resources available in project area exceed project requirements;
  • Low Strip Ratio life of mine of 1.33:1;
  • Power supply from existing Northern Peru power grid with connection point only 57 kms from the project; and
  • Project site located only 24 kms from existing paved highway connecting to the Pan American Highway on the west coast.
Low Capital Cost Intensity
Importantly, the Cañariaco project has low capital intensity when compared to several other global copper projects currently in the development stage. Key project attributes that reduce the capital cost include the following:
  • The mineralized material from Cañariaco Norte and Sur deposits are moderately competent with Axb of 53, and moderately soft rock with an average BWI 12.2 kWh/tonne, which enables high throughput utilizing a single comminution line consisting of one primary crusher, one large SAG mill and two ball mills whereas many projects with comparable throughput require two SAG mills and four ball mills;
  • The region receives significant annual rainfall and adequate fresh water is available at site eliminating the need for a desalination plant and pipeline from the coast;
  • Relatively close proximity to the national power grid reduces the capital intensity of power supply infrastructure;
  • Close proximity to an existing major transportation highway reduces access road construction cost and time;
  • Utilization of trucks to transport concentrate along existing highways to the loadout port eliminates the requirement for a concentrate pipeline;
  • The project site is in a sparsely populated area and there is no requirement for community relocation; and
  • Concentrate loadout through an existing port on the west coast of Peru eliminates need to construct a new loadout facility.
Figure 4 - Cañariaco possesses a strong production profile with low capital intensity (based on average annual copper equivalent production (1) (Capital Intensity (US$/t) Bubble size based on annual production)

Sustainable and Responsible Mining
The project development concept has utilized best practice technologies and will benefit from several existing external factors which will assist in making Cañariaco a very responsible, desirable and sustainable project.
The application of filtered dry stack tailings combined with comingled waste rock storage maximizes the recycling of process water and significantly reduces freshwater requirements. In addition, this technology eliminates the need for wet tailings storage and a major tailing retainment structure and reduces associated seismic risk.
Electrical power in Northern Peru is generated predominantly by hydro which is the preferred power source from ecological and carbon emissions perspectives.
Electric powered overland belt conveyors, rather than haul trucks, will transport most of the mill feed and waste rock from the mining areas to the plant as well as the comingled waste and dry stack tailings facility thereby reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
The project is located in a sparsely populated region and at elevations above major agricultural zones.
Capital, Sustaining and Operating Costs
The initial capital, expensed over the first four years of the Project, amounts to $2.2 billion. The sustaining capital over the remainder of LOM amounts to $526 million. Closure costs are estimated at $216 million. The project financial model incorporates a lease strategy for the purchase of the initial mining equipment whereby 20% of the mining fleet cost is capitalized and the remainder is carried as operating cost. Sustaining costs include construction of a crusher at the Sur deposit and related conveyor system to connect with the primary overland conveyor in year 16 prior to the start of mining operations at Sur.
A breakdown of capital cost is presented in the table 3 below:

Social &Environmental
Alta Copper has been active in the Cañariaco area since 2004 and since that time has developed and established a wide range of relationships with a corporate policy of respect, shared involvement and value, mutual benefit and transparency. Communications with the local communities and public authorities at all levels continues to ensure that key stakeholders are aware of the Cañariaco project status and plans, and that the Company responds to community concerns and requests.
Mining
The 2024 PEAis based on open pit mining methods with conventional drilling, blasting and material loading with large electric shovels for excavation and haulage to the primary crusher using large capacity haul trucks. Independent and dedicated high-capacity electric conveyor systems will transport plant feed from the primary crusher to the process plant and waste to the comingled waste and dry stack tailings facility.
Over the life of the Cañariaco mine, two separate deposits: Cañariaco Norte ("Norte") and Cañariaco Sur ("Sur") will be mined in separate pits, with the bulk of the plant feed coming from Norte. Mining will commence in the Norte pit which will provide 100% of the process plant feed until year 16 at which point mining operations will commence at Sur. Years 17 through 25 will see mining taking place in both Norte and Sur with variable mining rates while maintaining total annual production of 43.8 million tonnes. From year 26 through end of mine life all mining will take place in Sur.
The Cañariaco open pit mining operations will have a mine life of 27 years, operating 365 days a year with a life of mine strip ratio of 1.33:1 (including pre-stripping). The mine production plan is based on mining a total of 2.72 billion tonnes of material, comprised of 1.176 billion tonnes of plant feed and 1.548 billion tonnes of waste rock over the life of the mine. Mining operations will supply the process plant at 120,000 tonnes per day or 43.8 million tonnes per annum. During the life of mine operation, annual cash-flow will vary due to annual and forecast variations in head grade, strip ratio and metal recoveries.
The major mining equipment fleet will include nine (9) blast hole drills, five (5) 38 m3 electric shovels, two (2) 33 m3 front end loaders and thirty-eight (38) 290 tonne capacity haul trucks. A fleet of smaller loaders and trucks will be utilized for early mine access development and initial pre-stripping. Electric shovel major maintenance and mobile equipment replacement are carried in the mining costs. The moderate altitude of the Project avoids the need for de-rating of mine haul truck drive systems.
Whittle Consulting's Mine Plan Optimization
A key part of the mining plan development for this 2024 PEA included comprehensive mine plan optimization analysis by Whittle. This analysis includes a very detailed assessment of metal grades, metal prices, metal recoveries, mining and processing costs throughout the deposit, and by applying advanced computational analysis, including by the use of Whittle's proprietary Prober-E software, develops an optimized mining plan to maximize the net economic value of the mining operation. A key aspect of this mine planning strategy is that it brings forward cash flow and optimizes the net present value of the deposit. This approach involves advanced pit phasing techniques and takes advantage of variable mining cutoff grades, plant feed stockpiling and blending strategies during the life of the mine plan.
Metallurgy and Processing
The Cañariaco project comprises two copper-gold-silver porphyry deposits where the main copper species are primarily sulphides, predominantly chalcopyrite with lesser amounts of bornite and chalcocite. The Sur deposit also contains molybdenum however the levels did not warrant recovery for this 2024 PEA. Extensive metallurgical testwork programs on samples from Norte have been completed over previous years, providing an extensive metallurgical database for Norte. Resource development at Sur is at a much earlier stage than Norte and accordingly the metallurgical testwork completed for Sur is preliminary. However, the testwork results received to date from Sur are very good and comparable to the results for Norte confirming the amenability of conventional flotation recovery for both Norte and Sur.
The key metallurgical design parameters applied for process design in the 2024 PEA are as follows:
  • Mineralized material competency/hardness: Drop Weight Test Parameter Axb 53 (75th percentile), Bond Ball Mill Work Index 12.2 kWh/tonne (75th percentile), moderately competent and moderately soft
  • Grind size P80 for flotation feed: 200 microns
  • Metallurgical recoveries (life of mine): Copper 88.2 %, Gold 63%, Silver 53%
  • Copper concentrate: 26% Copper, 3.7 g/t Gold, 74 g/t Silver.
Mine haul trucks will transport plant feed material to the crushing station where they will dump the material directly into a large gyratory crusher. From the crusher, plant feed material will be conveyed to a live stockpile ahead of the grinding circuit. Plant feed will be drawn from the stockpile and fed to a single 12.8 m diameter by 8.2 m EGL (Effective Grinding Length) SAG mill. SAG mill discharge will be screened to remove oversize pebbles which will be crushed in pebble crushers and returned to the SAG mill feed. SAG mill screen undersize product will be fed to two parallel 8.5 m diameter by 11.4 m EGL ball mills operating in closed circuit with cyclones to produce floatation feed at 80% minus 200 microns. The floatation circuit will comprise of rougher and cleaner flotation stages, with rougher concentrate regrinding prior to cleaner flotation. Cleaner concentrate will be dewatered using a thickener and pressure filters, then conveyed to the concentrate storage building to await transportation to the port for loadout and shipping to offshore smelters.
Waste and Tailings Handling
The Cañariaco process flowsheet has included Comingled Dry Stack tailing technology for waste rock and tailings placement. This technology is considered as "Best Practice" and is seeing more application within the global mining industry. The technology offers three key benefits:
  • increases process water reclaim and recycling;
  • eliminates the requirement for wet tailings containment dams and eliminates related seismic risk,
  • reduces the size of tailing containment system footprint. Dry stack tailings treatment utilizes pressure filters to dewater process tailings to low moisture content with recovered water recycled to the process. The dry tailings filter cake produced are transported by belt conveyor to the tailings management facility where they can be placed or "stacked" with waste rock as a stable pile within the tailings facility. Combining the dry tailings sands with waste rock within the same pile enhances the overall stability of the pile and eliminates the need for two separate facilities.

2024.05.15 16:39 BRAHMA108 Honest review of LNMIIT from graduating batch (2024)

About me: I am from CSE branch and graduating this year and got placed with a package around 10 LPA on campus.
If you are considering joining this college then I assume that your percentile is in the range 97-98. Now before I discuss about the college, let's first discuss what all of you want, if your percentile is around 97-98 then you are not getting good NIT and possibly a good IIT. That means your target is to become on par with IITians and NITians after 4 years when you complete your BTech. The reason why I am mentioning this is because it will help you decide whether you should join this college or not.
Now coming to the review itself:
Let's first discuss about placements since it's the most interesting part for all. Now, I won't consider the year 2024 and year 2022 to analyse this college's placement, since both these years were quite and exception. In 2022, anyone with room temperature IQ was decently placed on the other hand in 2024 due to recession, even top coders had difficulty getting placed. You must keep these two exceptional years in mind when analysing any college's placement.
The only reason why you might be considering this college is because you must have seen the average and median slightly better than some IIIT's and lower NIT's and that's only because of startups coming to hire on campus. Now the question arises, just because a random startup (which is not even an year old) is offering me 2-3 lakhs more should I take admission in this college?
If your answer is yes then prepare yourself to pay a HEAVY price for just a gain of 2-3 lakhs in CTC. Why? Have a look at some of the factors:
Job security: Worst in startups. Work culture: Some of my friends placed in these random startups have to work 12 hours daily with toxic work culture.
Only a few MNC's like Deloitte, BNY Mellon, Media net which takes around 20-30 students total are decent enough to work in. The rest have to adjust in these random companies that will suck your life out of your body.
Therefore please think carefully, simply choosing a college based on placement can be a fatal decision and that too for 2-3 lakhs.
Now coming to academics:
The dean of academics currently is Mr. $andeep $aini, he is one of the least liked faculty in our college, he wants to make this college a blend of IIIT Hyderabad and IIT Kanpur as he says, but in this process he is completely destroying students future by giving them very strict grading. For instance in my batch 30-40 percent students have less than 7 CGPA and not because they don't study but because of this brutal grading system in which even if you top the course you will not get an A grade, it's completely ridiculous at least for CSE. The people in the academic department are also full of idiots like Raj€€v Saxena, they will not make things clear in the beginning and will not reply to your mails but I guess thats a problem with every college.
The Director:
He is the worst part of the college period. You will never see him in the college, it feels like whether he even exist or not. He has zero leadership qualities and in these four years we hardly ever interacted with him. He has an inflated ego and thinks that he is starting a revolution by making new AI buildings for research which are not even utilised. You cannot contact him easily so don't expect that you can reach him if you have some serious problem. Dude is just enjoying his life going on Europe vacations.
Faculties:
Most of the faculty are contract based, this is the worst part. They just teach for one semester then leave the college and then some new faculty comes to teach you. Although their qualifications are fine (phD from IIT). Many old faculty have recently left college too, and they are just okayish.
Infrastructure:
Very poor infrastructure, there is no auditorium and my school had a better gym and sports facility than LNMIIT. There are 3 badminton court and 3 basketball court 2 volleyball court and a lawn tennis court. The new lecture hall have AC but the old ones doesn't have them.
Attendance: 75% criteria is there.
Canteen: There is are only 4 shops, one of them which is called the Amul parlour is very unhygienic I am surprised how people eat there.
Then there another shop which sells paratha and pakoda which is usually crowded and the guy working there feels like he is in intoxicated state. I am sure that dude doesn't even know what planet he is living on! You will have to wait half hour just to get 1 paratha.
The rest two shops sells packaged items like Lays and Kurkure. So if you are hungry then eating packaged food is your only option.
There are two shops which are closed for more than an year where there used to be a restaurant, but college administration is corrupt ($amar $ingh) removed it and now closed.
Student Life:
There is very limited life in campus, so to enjoy a little bit you will have to go to Jaipur city and this is where the worst part begins, the college is 10-15 km away from city and the road between the college and city is very poor so Uber or Ola generally doesn't accept your request and if they do, be ready to shell out 500 rupees out of your pocket and that's just one way. To solve this problem the college has bus which is always overcrowded!! You will have to arrive 1 hour before the departure just to get a seat! And the bus drivers is always angry with the college administration ($amar $ingh) these drivers are underpaid and overworked and many times you won't get a seat in bus so forget about going out of the college.
Hostel:
They are accomodating 3 students in a room with capacity of 2 students, the three beds are joined and the third student doesn't even get a study table and a study chair of their own.
Mess:
Food is above average, it's good on some occasions. Definitely manageable.
TPC:
This is the only reason why this college is still relevant, people have mixed opinions about manuj sir and ashish sir but I think that they are doing a decent job. But in case they left the college then I the college placement will turn upside down.
Fees: you will be paying around 30 Laks! and will not get any brand value, it's totally NOT worth it.
Brand name: This college has no brand name and no one knows it outside Jaipur, trust me college brand name matters a lot in the industry.
Final conclusion: If you want to be on par with IITians and NITians, there are several ways, take admission in any new nit or iiit and take any placement they give. Then opt for higher studies, you can go for MS or MBA, you can switch companies. DO NOT BE GREEDY FOR JUST EXTRA 2-3 LAKH PLACEMENT.
Final advice:
Think in long term not short term, think in decades not in years! That NIT or IIIT tag will remain with you for the rest of your life.

2024.05.15 16:37 Butterfllynabi My crazy experience

So this is a story that takes place over about two years. It starts when in high school when I was in ninth grade this new girl came to my school and was in a lot of my classes in the story we will call her R. R didn’t have very many friends when she came to the school so myself and a few of my other friends started to hangout with her. She seemed nice at first but eventually her true self came out. Myself and some of my friend who we I’ll refer to as tree,Allie, may,Gina ,jay,Leo,etc… One random day while in school r had come up to me in class asking to talk in private so I went with her because she seemed upset. We found a table kind of away from others and started to talk. R confessed to me that tree had r worded her. For some background tree is an autistic person who doesn’t even let close friends touch him and has never been interested in being in a relationship during this time period. As it turns out r had told my other friends this same thing and tree eventually found out. Tree had told everyone his side of the story which was that yes they had TALKED outside of school but it was r who tried to push a relationship onto him. Tree had told her many times that he wasn’t interested in a relationship. We eventually confronted her about his side of the story and she lied saying she had never told us about him trying to r word her. This caused us to have to go to our school counselor to report this which caused parents to get involved.
Fast forward a bit everything is pretty much normal and none of us are really talking to r. R ended up starting to talk to Leo which is jay’s younger brother. Leo was in 7th grade at the time. Leo had told her that he didn’t like her and everything seemed fine for a bit. After a few weeks of this r decided to try and kiss Leo. Jay wasn’t happy about this and told r to stay away from Leo. For weeks jay wouldn’t talk to r and r just wanted to apologize. When jay kept avoiding her r got fed up and said to me “I know he can hear me he isn’t f**king deaf.” And for context I am a person with hearing aids and a hearing impairment. That comment made me upset with r and caused me to stop talk to her permanently. At this point r keep trying to talk to most of my friends. R was given instructions that she wasn’t to talk to tree as tree’s mom was thinking about a restraining order because r kept causing trouble with tree.
Another jump to next school year we had started 10th grade. Over the summer tree’s parents were killed so we were trying to be supportive and keep things calm. None of us had classes with r at this point and everything was good. A few months into school r started to be unconsistant with coming into school. One day that she was in school the police had showed up and went to her class. R was taken away by the police and we didn’t see her for a few weeks. We didn’t know why r was taken out of school but it was one of two reasons. 1.)she was dating a 26 year old and our school counselor found out 2.) she was messaging a 4th grader and sending pictures which our counselor found out
Not to long after that incident r left the school and everything smoothed over making school easy for all of us. R wasn’t popular at my high school after a lot of people found out about the events and her parents decided she caused enough drama at the school. Everything is great between those friends and I now and we are all still in touch. We all blocked r and don’t have any contact with her and have 0 desire to talk to her.

2024.05.15 16:35 First_Timer2020 Bleeding After Endometrial Biopsy

I had a pre-op endometrial biopsy last Friday (0/10, do not recommend, but totally worth it to get this damn uterus out!), and I was very surprised at how much bleeding I had afterwards. The instruments used were covered in blood, there was blood on the table, and I was given a very large pad, which I filled up on the drive home. I was expecting some spotting, but it was like a full-on period until Sunday, when it slowed down and I started passing large, brownish clots instead of the bright red blood and clots. Now, just shy of a week later, it's just brown discharge so I think things have settled down. I wondered more than once if I should have called the GYN, but I'm so used to heavy bleeding that I just rode it out. How sad is that? I also have break through bleeding pretty frequently, so I guess it's possible that it was an instance of break through bleeding, probably because of the manipulation of the cervix? Anyway, did anyone else have this much bleeding after their biopsy, or am I just blessed?

2024 Top Ten Portfolio vs. The Alongside Crypto Market Index Token (AMKT)

The first Top Ten Crypto Experiment was started on 1 January 2018 in an attempt to capture the gains of the entire market, similar to the “lazy” approach of the Bogleheads in traditional markets. Much has changed over the last six years, including the introduction of index products designed to capture the entire crypto market (instead of manually buying coins and tokens like I do for my Experiments).
Like last year, I’m running a friendly competition between The 2024 Top Ten Portfolio and The Alongside Crypto Market Index Token (AMKT). AMKT is an ERC-20 token that represents a cap weighted index of 15 Cryptocurrencies (minus stablecoins) backed 1:1 by the underlying assets represented within the index and completely onchain. Similar to the Boglehead Community, a Do Nothing Club has emerged encouraging a long-term “lazy” crypto investing approach. Since the index represents approximately 95% of the value within crypto, AMKT is an excellent proxy for the entire cryptocurrency market – exactly what my Top Ten Portfolios have been trying to recreate from the start.
To mirror traditional index fund products, AMKT is also currently providing a 5% APR match, essentially creating its own dividend.
Here’s the question I’ll be tracking this year: would I have been better off with $1,000 of AMKT instead of going through the effort of creating a homemade $1,000 Top Ten Index Fund?
On 1 January 2024, $1000 was equal to 7.2 AMKT. Four months into the Experiment, here’s the AMKT snapshot:
https://preview.redd.it/7lsd8sg9sl0d1.png?width=492&format=png&auto=webp&s=09230e9bd26bb9b7250f71cf7dd9ccd8d21951b1
April Performances:
  • The 2024 Top Ten Portfolio: -23%
  • AMKT: -18%.
The April monthly victory goes to: The Alongside Crypto Market Index Token (AMKT)
Overall since January 1st, 2024:
  • The 2024 Top Ten Portfolio: +10%
  • AMKT: +29%
Overall lead: The Alongside Crypto Market Index Token (AMKT)
For the more visual, here’s the table I’ll be using to track the friendly Top Ten vs. AMKT competition this year:
https://preview.redd.it/2kz9rrwbsl0d1.png?width=907&format=png&auto=webp&s=aede964bef056f16bbbc4e88bcaa7f94d10762af

Combining the 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 Top Ten Crypto Portfolios

So, where do we stand if we combine seven years of the Top Ten Crypto Index Fund Experiments?
  • 2018 Top Ten Experiment: up +5% (total value $1,046)
  • 2019 Top Ten Experiment: up +440% (total value $5,403)
  • 2020 Top Ten Experiment: up +707% (total value $8,071) (best performing portfolio*)*
  • 2021 Top Ten Experiment: up +200% (total value $3,001)
  • 2022 Top Ten Experiment: down -46% (total value $542) (worst performing portfolio*)*
  • 2023 Top Ten Experiment: up +82% (total value $1,819)
  • 2024 Top Ten Experiment: up +10% (total value $1,099)
Taking the seven portfolios together:
After a $7,000 total investment in the 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 Top Ten Cryptocurrencies, the combined portfolios are worth $20,981.
That’s up +200% on the combined portfolios. The peak for the combined Top Ten Index Fund Experiment Portfolios was November 2021’s all time high of +533%. Here’s the combined monthly ROI since I started tracking the metric in January 2020 for those who do better with visuals:
https://preview.redd.it/i1fxg8ldsl0d1.png?width=1098&format=png&auto=webp&s=a872f84f413023a95b9ab32fc3246f410ec4f633
In summary: That’s a +200% gain by investing $1k on whichever cryptos happened to be in the Top Ten on January 1st (including stablecoins) for seven straight years.

Comparison to S&P 500

I’m also tracking the S&P 500 as part of my Experiment to have a comparison point to traditional markets.
https://preview.redd.it/3ilnwhbfsl0d1.png?width=1076&format=png&auto=webp&s=d8604016f6eb06f7496a860fbb6fa512c78f429e
The S&P 500 is up +5% so far in 2024, so the initial $1k investment into crypto on New Year’s Day would be worth $1,050 had it been redirected to the S&P.
Taking the same invest-$1,000-on-January-1st-of-each-year approach with the S&P 500 that I’ve been documenting through the Top Ten Crypto Experiments, the yields are the following:
  • $1000 investment in S&P 500 on January 1st, 2018 = $1,880 today
  • $1000 investment in S&P 500 on January 1st, 2019 = $2,000 today
  • $1000 investment in S&P 500 on January 1st, 2020 = $1,550 today
  • $1000 investment in S&P 500 on January 1st, 2021 = $1,340 today
  • $1000 investment in S&P 500 on January 1st, 2022 = $1,050 today
  • $1000 investment in S&P 500 on January 1st, 2023 = $1,310 today
  • $1000 investment in S&P 500 on January 1st, 2024 = $1,050 today
Taken together, the results for a similar approach with the S&P:
After seven $1,000 investments into an S&P 500 index fund in January 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 my portfolio would be worth $10,180.
That is up +45% since January 2018 compared to a +200% gain of the combined Top Ten Crypto Experiment Portfolios.
The visual below shows a comparison on ROI between a Top Ten Crypto approach and the S&P as per the rules of the Top Ten Experiments:
https://preview.redd.it/ztyowptgsl0d1.png?width=1370&format=png&auto=webp&s=b1dc69965f6fd53a8a862f9c15ac08b4451f967f

Conclusion:

To the long time followers of the Top Ten Experiments, thank you for sticking around so long. For those just getting into crypto, I hope these reports will help prepare you for the highs and lows that await on your crypto adventures. Buckle up, go with the flow, think long term, and truly don’t invest what you can’t afford to lose. Most importantly, try to enjoy the ride. A reporting note: I’ll focus on 2024 Top Ten Portfolio reports + one other portfolio on a rotating basis this year, so expect two reports from me per month. April’s extended report is on the 2022 Top Ten Portfolio, which you can access here. You can check out the latest 2018 Top Ten, 2019 Top Ten, 2020 Top Ten, 2021 Top Ten, and 2023 Top Ten reports as well.

2024.05.15 16:28 AdventurousSeeker192 3 Small-cap Gold Juniors to Take Notice of $ELEM $GLDR $SOMA

(The information on the three gold companies in this report is not definitive. Instead, this information will drive you to do more due diligence and make an investment decision.)
A different way to invest in gold is to look for great properties. If you bundle the three companies/properties in this piece, you could own three great properties collectively for under CDN2.00 a share.
https://preview.redd.it/r3ojx4rynl0d1.jpg?width=1500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f188257532dc4ca3a50611b50bbde4ffa44ea47c
GOLDEN RAPTURE MINING (GLDR: CSE) is a collection of premier Ontario mining properties in the Rainy River region that have done enough work to unveil potential, below but left a significant amount of gold with great g/t numbers. As of this morning, some numbers will indeed up its profile. Considering the stock has been listed for about two weeks, these results are excellent. Forgive the length of the table, but given the quality of the results, investors must get the whole picture.
https://preview.redd.it/fzy13fb0ol0d1.png?width=833&format=png&auto=webp&s=a844bbabf8febd58fa858fe4f4d1b62f89c5f1c6
First, the newest, being listed in the last month, is Golden Rapture Gold. The Company intends to reactivate past mines in the Rainy River area of Ontario. The property is so new that management has only walked about 5% of it, but the numbers are already impressive over its two projects. The Company holds a 100% interest in the high-grade Phillips Township Gold Property, Rainy River District, NW Ontario. The land package totals 225 claim cells for approximately ten thousand acres located close to 4 mineral deposits. These assets include the New Gold Rainy River Mine (+8 million Oz.), the Cameron Lake Deposit (1.8 million Oz.), the Agnico Eagle-Hammond Reef deposit (3.3 million Oz.), the Tartisan Nickel, Copper, and Cobalt Deposit, and many others. Mature local infrastructure, workforce, heavy-duty equipment, hospitals, major highway systems, and local services are nearby.

Mr. Richard Rivet, CEO of Golden Rapture, commented: “I am incredibly pleased that we have just made some essential and rapid steps toward identifying additional high-grade drill-ready targets. We were pleasantly surprised to discover many high-grade quartz veins on the surface, with the majority of them carrying gold. Unlike many exploration companies, we are not just chasing the typical geophysical anomaly but also many vast high-grade gold structures identified on the surface that can be drilled at any time.
https://preview.redd.it/303n77s7ol0d1.png?width=843&format=png&auto=webp&s=96df5f7ae205367b1a51d30b482d9940c91d0d22

Ryan Yanch CIM, a director of GLDR, states***, ‘One extremely important fact is that GLDR’s drilling cost is an industry-leading CDN140 a meter. It is not unusual for other gold comp[anbies to spend CDN200-400 or more a meter. One major contributor to this is that one significant cost is the location of the drilling company. 17 km away from the properties significantly lowers the capital cost and allows a more robust drilling program”.***
Given the uniqueness and exceptional quality of GLDR’s properties, there could be excellent investor support. Gold is rallying, and the prospect of further rises may portend in the shadow of interest rate cuts.
Previous work on the properties quickly removes the ubiquitous ‘drill’ on the property or other tropes. These are serious businessmen and women with decades of mining and entrepreneurial experience.
In the world of junior mining IPOs, there is a feeling that the stars must align to profit. Au contraire***. The keys to investing success are the right properties, management, and, in this case, a rallying gold price.***

Element79 Gold Corp (the “Company”) (CSE: ELEM) (OTC: ELMGF) is a fascinating gold company and the second in our gold triumvirate located primarily in Peru through its flagship Lucero, Peru, property.
(Full Disclosure: James Tworek, CEO of Element79, is an adviser to the GLDR Board. Your humble scribe owns a small position in each Company.)
The past-producing Lucero Mine (“Lucero”) is one of the highest-grade underground mines in Peru’s history, with grades averaging 19.0g/t Au Equivalent (“Au Eq”) (14.0 g/t gold and 373 g/t silver).
https://preview.redd.it/of62jjsbol0d1.png?width=557&format=png&auto=webp&s=63799ac26087364b8afa847435d1ba86de0701d3
In its past 5 years of production, ending in 2005, it produced an average of 40,000oz+/yr.
Assays from March 2023 yielded 21-ore-grade and high-yield up to 11.7 ounces per ton of gold and 247 ounces per ton of silver from underground workings, further validating the potential for a significant high-grade future operation.
Consolidating its focus in this region and its impressive geology, ELEM acquired the Roxana Vein and surrounding 1200ha property, Lucero del Sur 28, via auction held on May 17, 2023. The property is located strategically just east of the high-grade Lucero gold-silver project.
Instead of going into much history, let’s look at the Press release ELEM put out on April 23. New assays were released, and CEO James Tworek stated, “The data obtained is not just promising; it’s the cornerstone upon which our future endeavours will be built,” said James Tworek, CEO of Element 79. “These recent results, coupled with historical data, represent the bedrock upon which we are advancing our Lucero project.”
Corporate Presentation.

From the PR: A total of 97 samples were sent for assays, 56 of which returned greater than 0.1 g/t gold (up to 8.55 g/t gold and 523 g/t silver. Several samples also were rich in base metals (up to 23.7% lead and 9.9% zinc), all of which underscores the richness of our project, further supporting the Company’s belief a robust resource base can be delineated. (Actual assay numbers are shown in the PR)
James C Tworek further states, “Element79 Gold has transformed from an asset amalgamator and seller to a near-term production story, responding to Peru’s government push for formalizing artisanal mining operations. We at Element79 Gold are thrilled to share our unwavering dedication to bringing our Lucero gold project in Peru into production. This past-producing, high-grade gold and silver mine holds immense potential to revitalize our Company and foster economic growth and prosperity in the region. “
The other ELEM property brings us back to North America. Nevada, to be precise. Reason to pay attention?

Maverick Springs is adjacent to the Carlin Trend. For the uninitiated, the area contains several of the largest gold mines on Earth. The area includes a number of the largest gold mines on Earth. Maverick Springs is a blind deposit comprising a 30-120 metre thick, flat-lying zone centred on an anticlinal structure with oxidation pervasive to 120 metres and intermittent to 270 metres. (5)
West Whistler property is in the same area as Maverick, closer to the Battle Mountain Trend, alongside Carlin: Near several gold deposits, including the Cortez Mine, North America’s third largest gold mine with 2021 gold production of 828,000 ounces.
Finally, the Clover Property, 16 km west of the massive Hecla Mine in the Northern Nevada Rift. The property sits at the top and centre of the Carlin and Battle Mountain Trends.
Nevada Gold’s active Turquoise Ridge Mine, the third largest gold mine in the United States with 537,000 ounces of gold production reported in 2020, as well as the Twin Creeks open pit mines and the dormant Pinson and Getchell mines.
Element 79 has drilling programs announced for the 2023/24 years and a more vigorous program for 2024/25.

As (GoldSilver.com) an aside, the gold price—and silver—have softened after particularly gold had a decent run. The first two in our group have slid a bit but seem to be holding in nicely.
If one follows gold forecasts, the pundits call for USD 2500-3000 over the next few years. The strategy is simple: A move to USD 3,000 represents a 50% appreciation. However, that also comes with physical and liquidity issues should you want to sell.
And the Gold price?
On December 30, 2022, gold closed the year at $1,819.70 per ounce. Flash forward to one year later, and gold closed 2023 at $2,062.40. That’s a gain of 13.3% in a single year.
With gold pushing to new record highs, it’s a fascinating time for gold investors.

As mentioned, these three companies are similar in that they have what appear to be skookum properties. They are also all great gold proxies, and they all trade for under CDN1.00. Cheekily, I may have said that investors can own all three companies for under CDN 2.00 a share.
While I like the companies, I would buy them for their land positions. All have land that isn’t some dust pit but has either historical or proven assays. And most are near large producers. Element79; Nevada.Carlin Trend? Seriously?

2024.05.15 16:08 MikeAmiriJeans The difference Between PvP on Training Grounds and Competitive

TGComp KitsMore Creative: any move is on the table Guard break Oriented: moves need to have less start up than GB stun , or it's never landing MovementInfinite: You can do anything, abuse chi dash and never run out stamina, use azim senko to bypass block, speed boosts from mode.Restricted: 2 chi dashes and you run out stamina, senko has no range. Evade moves instead of blocking and you cannot autododge Fighting stylesHit and Run, burst combo and autododge stalling/mode counter. Ranged moves orientedPunishing, Pressuring, Chi/Stamina Seals, Mind games and tightly made combos ChiChi is co has no implications, very rarely you will ever run out of chakra unless you used 5 moves back to back Moves need to be used sparingly, so using high chi cost moves will slow u down more and make u lose more. CooldownsCDs do not matter cause fights are super longEvery second matters, and and you will definitely feel the effects of a poorly made kit
There is so much more I could get into, but comp is where you actually start using your brain. While any move on TG is on the table, because of it's lack of limitations, people build kits around damage, so there is no creativity.
You can't drain someone's Chi or Stamina on RPG, but u can on Comp.
Clones don't do anything on RPG, but comp?

I have a table that needs to be incrementally updated in some time period and I have a query that collects data from which I must select records not present in target table. Is there any best practice? For now I think on: 1) getting max modified timestamp, and filtering by it. 2) filtering by mentioned time period. 3) filtering by ID (looking for ID that we don’t encounter in target table).
What is optimal and what is not? Table in question has 100M+ records.

What Month Is Safest to Travel During Pregnancy
What Month Is Safest to Travel During Pregnancy Did you know that choosing the right month to travel during pregnancy can significantly impact your safety? With so many factors to consider, it's important to make informed decisions. In this article, we will explore the safest months for travel during each trimester of pregnancy. From evaluating risks in the first trimester to navigating the middle ground in the second trimester, and considering special precautions for high-risk pregnancies, we will provide you with expert advice and tips for a smooth journey. Stay safe and enjoy your travels! Key Takeaways
The second trimester is often considered the safest time to travel during pregnancy. Pregnancy-related complications are less likely during this period. Choose pregnancy-friendly destinations with accessible medical facilities. Consider locations with mild weather and safe transportation options.
Evaluating the Risks: Traveling During the First Trimester
Traveling during the first trimester can be considered safe for most pregnant women. However, it is important to understand and evaluate the potential risks involved before making any travel plans. One of the main concerns when flying during pregnancy is the risk of blood clots, also known as deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Changes in blood flow and pressure can increase this risk, so it's crucial to take necessary precautions. To minimize these risks, make sure to wear compression stockings or socks, drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, and avoid crossing your legs for prolonged periods. Another concern is the exposure to radiation from airport security scanners or cosmic rays during high-altitude flights. While the level of radiation exposure is generally low and unlikely to cause harm, it's still advisable to limit unnecessary exposure. Opting for alternative screening methods at airports or avoiding frequent air travel may provide peace of mind. Furthermore, morning sickness and fatigue are common symptoms experienced during the first trimester. These discomforts may be exacerbated by air travel due to changes in cabin pressure and motion sickness. It's essential to listen to your body's cues and rest whenever needed. Navigating the Middle Ground: Traveling During the Second Trimester
Finding a good balance, many expecting mothers opt to travel during their second trimester. This is often considered the safest time to travel as most pregnancy-related complications are less likely to occur compared to the first and third trimesters. During this period, you can still enjoy exploring new destinations while managing your pregnancy symptoms. When planning your trip, it's important to choose pregnancy-friendly destinations that offer easy access to medical facilities and have a favorable climate. Consider locations with mild weather and avoid places with extreme temperatures or high altitudes that may put unnecessary stress on your body. Additionally, ensure that the destination has safe and reliable transportation options. To make your travel experience more comfortable, it's essential to manage common pregnancy symptoms such as fatigue, nausea, and swollen feet. Take frequent breaks during sightseeing activities, stay hydrated, and listen to your body when it needs rest. Pack comfortable clothing and shoes that accommodate any swelling in your feet or ankles. Here's a helpful table outlining some key considerations for traveling during the second trimester:
Consideration Tips
Choose Pregnancy-Friendly Destinations Accessible medical facilities; favorable climate
Manage Pregnancy Symptoms Take frequent breaks; stay hydrated; pack comfortable clothing
Remember to consult with your healthcare provider before making any travel plans and follow their recommendations for a safe journey. Considerations for Late Stage Travel: Traveling During the Third Trimester
In the third trimester, it's crucial to prioritize comfort and safety when making travel plans. As your pregnancy progresses, there may be certain travel restrictions you need to consider. It's important to consult with your healthcare provider before embarking on any trips during this stage. Some airlines may have policies restricting travel after a certain week of pregnancy, so it's essential to check their guidelines beforehand. Managing discomfort during late stage travel is also a key consideration. As your belly grows bigger and heavier, you may experience increased back pain and fatigue. It's advisable to choose comfortable modes of transportation that allow for frequent breaks and ample legroom. Plan for regular stretching exercises or short walks during long journeys. Additionally, pack essentials like snacks, water, and pillows for added comfort during the trip. Wearing loose-fitting clothing and supportive footwear can also help alleviate discomfort. Now that we've discussed considerations for late stage travel, let's move on to special considerations for high-risk pregnancies: traveling safely. Before you embark on your trip, make sure to check off these items from your list. First and foremost, don't forget your essential travel documents. This includes your passport, visa (if required), driver's license, and any other identification that may be necessary. It's also a good idea to make copies of these documents in case of loss or theft. Next, consider any additional documentation that may be required based on your destination or purpose of travel. For example, if you're traveling with children who are not your own, you may need written permission from their parents or legal guardians. If you have any medical conditions or allergies, it's advisable to carry relevant medical records or doctor's notes.
