Hey Everyone! Welcome to the Cardinals Reddit Daily OveUnder Contest! I’ll post these daily as long as I’m able to, but I’m sure real life will get in the way here and there. This is all for fun. No prizes other than bragging rights.

Hi Everyone,
I live in the USA, northeast and am planning to install a pool heater this year. I received the quoted linked above from an electrician I've used before. He'll a 100mp sub feeder from my garage, up to my attic, across my house (80ft), down the side of my house and then trench it 50 ft to my pool equipment. The pool equipment only needs 50-60 amps top I think, but I wanted to put 100 amps out there to be safe and have to option to do yard lighting and other stuff in the future. Is 5k a good price for this work?

So as ya'll know, Myself, Fern and Tom had planned some Mother's Day gifts for MIL. I gotta admit, I was worried that Margaret would show up and ruin the whole thing, but it was actually a surprisingly good day- mostly because she wasn't there, which was the OBVIOUS elephant in the room the whole time. Tom worked the grill for a while and we had MIL open the gifts I had planned - it was a small pirate chest filled with letters from Myself, Fern, and Tom telling her how wonderful of a mother she was (I had aged them and weathered them to look waterlogged and like they'd been around for a long time). I made her a boondoggle that said "number one mom" that had our names dangling from it. She opened the collage...the whole thing left her in happy tears, which was nice but also sad at the same time. She said "OP, you're such a shit for making me cry" then gave me a big hug. MIL started to talk about it all ("It's been really rough and I've been having a really hard time"), but it was cut off by the men fussing over the grill. I made the rest of lunch and we had a really, really good time for the most part.
I clocked FIL's behavior in Margaret's absence. He wandered off into the yard and stood by himself for extended periods of time, staring at the ground in silence. I registered it as pain- I'm not gonna lie, it was PALPABLE how much easier and fun and quiet the afternoon was with Margaret being intentionally excluded. I could tell that MIL really needed to talk about what was going on, especially since she was being absolutely flooded with love (in stark contrast to what she's been receiving from Margaret). I approached her towards the end of the evening- she revealed to me what she had put in the letter. Essentially, it reads something like this.
"dear Margaret- I am sorry that we are having such a hard time seeing eye to eye. I have had my conflicts with Fern and Tom in the past that we have been able to resolve; Since you do not wish to speak to me directly, I am hoping that we can communicate this way to see each other more clearly. I think youre upset with me because I married your dad- but I am not sure because you will not tell me what is wrong. I want to make peace with you, but I cannot do that with you so blatantly disrespecting me. I feel like I deserve an apology- I feel used by you, especially since I signed your lease for you when you asked right before this happened. Please write me back so we can resolve this, I love you."
Apparently, MIL had FIL read it before she sent it- this looks like a last ditch effort to rectify the tension, but I'm not sure what the outcome will be because we ALL know that Margaret is going to freak the fuck out the second she reads it. Margaret can't handle any blame and has no sense of accountability. We can all see it coming- so definitely expect an update on that.
On the ride home I absolutely fell apart. It made me so sad that she has had to go to these lengths to remedy a situation that she didn't cause in the first place. I was also very, very angry at FIL and basically the whole family for letting this go on for as long as it has.. I ended up confronting Tom about this again. I told him that there are 600 strangers on reddit calling him and his whole family spineless, and that I have found myself defending them because I know otherwise, but that in this situation those 600 strangers are absolutely right. I said that I know his dad is human, but that they are all a bunch of cowards for the "fend for yourself, just let it go" attitude they have when it comes to each of them being so wildly abused and disrespected AS A FAMILY. Fern deserves better than to have a sister that has told ME that "the reason Fern got SA'd as a kid is because h"e put himself out there like that" (excuse me?). Cory deserves better than a wife who threatens to call the cops on him for not making her dinner (huh?) . Tom deserves a better sister than one who has called me to tell me "He's a creep and I bet he's done things to little girls before" (no idea where that one came from). MIL deserves better than someone who asks her for money and favors only to turn around and rip her to shreds (the entitlement?). And FIL deserves better than to have such little self esteem that he'd rather watch his family disintegrate rather than cut out the cancer.
Yeah, I was heated. Margaret makes shit up, takes things out of context, and regularly demonstrates that she genuinely feels the world is out to get her and that everyone else is the problem. I did not let up.
Tom listened very patiently- we exchanged a lot of words and the conversation took over an hour, the end result being "My dad is nearing approachable about this subject. Today showed him the kind of life we can have without her; you definitely launched a psychological bomb at him with how well you planned the day and how much you showed MIL that she's worth something. He's struggling, but I promise that I'll talk to him about it soon. We talk 3 times a week, he knows its coming."
The last statement I made was "I am not an 'on the fence' person. I'm the only one who has outright picked a side- and it's not Margaret's because I refuse to enable this insanity anymore. It's wrong, and you guys are wrong for coddling a grown woman's hurt ego knowing that its harming literally EVERYONE else in the family. Pick a side, and be done with it. I refuse to let MIL go this alone."
We will see how much longer the circus goes on. I anticipate the events that happened this weekend leading to the biggest blow up that Margaret has had yet- the shady online posts have already started (per Tom, who has found it amusing and low of her). It's about to get a lot crazier when this letter hits, and even worse when she eventually visits FIL and sees a giant collage with all the kids except for her.
There's SO many of you that have said that you are emotionally invested in my story- I'll continue to update so we all get the closure we need. Thanks for all the support (and trash talking, I've gotten quite a few LOLs out of the comments).

RONN, Inc. (OTC PINK:RONN) announced today that the signing of our MOU for our recently announced equity investment, once finalized, will stimulate the various LOIs that we have announced and are still active. Mr. Ford, the company CEO, stated that a quick update on those expected initial main initiatives might be beneficial to our shareholders.
We first announced First Nations Canada in October 2023, which, once executed with our new expected funding, is expected to be worth potentially 500 million dollars. Quote: "Together, we plan to establish seven starter seed hydrogen hubs across the First Nations lands, complete with RONN Hydrogen Electric logistic trucks," stated Ronn Ford, CEO. "The seven-plus 50-million-dollar packages allow communities and businesses of all sizes to familiarize themselves with Hydrogen electricity's mobile and stationary applications." Mr. Ford continued that site locations are being evaluated "and we have now added a global development partner to the project. The Global Middle Mile Logistics Truck Market is projected to grow from USD 96.42 billion in 2022 to USD 169.75 billion by 2030, at a CAGR of 7.32%."
Our HEV medium-duty trucks will go to Roush Engineering to complete our initial class 4-6 medium-duty delivery prototypes for several evaluation pilot projects and much-anticipated contract manufacturing. We do have several pilot programs in the queue, including our own with First Nations and Barbados, and others too early to announce in Nairobi, Germany, India, and Canada.
The engineering and feasibility studies are complete. With the recent difficulties revealed concerning battery-powered trucks and automobiles, hydrogen electric vehicles have received a nice shot in the arm as the only viable alternative to the problem that plagues the battery market. Ronn Ford also stated that a critical success factor is the fact that delivery vehicles are mostly fleets, and the only infrastructure required are small hydrogen pumps located at the terminal facility to refuel the trucks upon return to the yard. Hydrogen EVs have a more extended range and can carry larger loads, and a hydrogen fill-up generally takes only 3-5 minutes.
Our recently announced LOI with the great group Hydrogen Horizons, whose offices are in the UK, has already resulted in several new potential partners and potential Hydrogen Truck pilot programs throughout. We are exploring a possible grant application between us, Hydrogen Horizons, and NYSERDA (the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority), as details emerge, we will update the market accordingly.

It's here! The results for the 2024 Fantasy Top Podcasts Poll have been tabulated and we have the results! Before we share those results with you, a quick preamble about participation and how we categorized the podcasts. The original voting thread can be found here.
Participation
In total, 77 people participated in this poll and cast a total of 360 votes for 183 podcasts. That's a big uptick from the last time this poll was undertaken but not as much participation as we'd hoped. The vote spread was remarkably similar to last time but as we suspected, the popular podcasts have changed wildly. For instance, Writing Excuses was the most popular podcast last time with 16 votes and this time it only received one vote.
Only 2 podcast votes were disqualified: 1 for not seeming to be a podcast (not found on any podcast app and it did not describe itself as a podcast on its YouTube channel) and the other was only available on a website that my antivirus software wouldn't let me go to so I couldn't confirm anything about it.
Breakdown
There were 7 main categories of podcast:

• Discussion - for general podcasts where hosts talk about shared interests. This could include news, book discussion, readalongs/watchalongs, lore analysis, and so on. This is the category most people tend to think of when you say "podcast." Readalongs/watchalongs are specifically called out in the list due to their participatory nature.
• Fiction - for podcasts where previously published stories are read aloud often by their author usually without sound effects.
• Audio Drama - podcasts where stories are performed by actors as plays with sound effects. Not everything in this category is is specifically a drama. Some are comedies but audio drama appears to be the catch all term for any story performed for audio.
• TTRPG - a catch all for anything D&D related including actual plays and similar games like Pathfinder.
• Writing - podcasts on writing advice, story creation, and the like.
• Folklore/Mythology - somewhere between Fiction and Discussion, these podcasts bounced between reading, discussion, and history of real world myths and folklore often by people who are experts in their field. This felt different enough from Discussion and Fiction to single out since it did not fit neatly in either.
• Improv - there were a number of podcasts where comedians improvised stories in a fantasy or sci fi world. It wasn't quite fiction and it wasn't quite audio drama so it got its own category.

Fiction and Audio Drama are definitely the blurriest categories. In general, I counted something as audio drama if it had multiple actors and sound effects. This meant that stuff like Night Vale, which is arguably an audio drama, was counted as a fiction podcast since it doesn't have these elements. This decision was partially informed by Night Vale calling itself a fiction podcast instead of an audio drama which helped me figure out where to draw the line using Night Vale as a boundary marker. However this also means that delineations between Audio Dramas and Fiction may not be consistent as I did defer to podcast descriptions if they described themselves as Fiction or Audio Drama.
Our most popular podcast categories in order of most to least popular were:

1. Audio Drama - 62 podcasts Discussion - 62 (17 of the discussion podcasts were watchalongs or readalongs)
2. Fiction - 24
3. TTRPG - 21
4. Folklore/Mythology - 4 Writing - 4
5. Improv - 3

I'd like some fair exchange for those, i'm willing to put more than one game against a game i really want, depends on the offer. Frequently Asked Question

Is it legal?
Demus works within the strict limitations of the YouTube API. Playing requires a constant internet connection. No media content is stored on your device and therefore neither downloading nor offline playback is supported. All playback is done through an integrated Safari-like view.
Do music artists still get paid?
Yes! Listening to any song in my app counts as a view on the YouTube website and will therefore generate per-stream revenue to the artist.
How do you make money from your app when it's free with no ads?
There is an optional one-time in-app purchase which gives you access to some cool features such as color themes, app icons, and more advanced listening statistics.
Can it support iOS 16 and lower?
Demus uses the latest and most up-to-date frameworks which are sadly not supported on older versions of iOS. But fear not, my app will be waiting for you when you upgrade!
How about an Android version?
I am actively working on porting Demus to Android. It should be available later this year!

After completing the foundation program, I have now started the full speed spectrum program. The check I did at the end of the foundation program did not reveal an increase in speed. However, I have clearly gained at least 10 yards with each club on the course.
I believe that the lack of progress in the data is linked to the fact that while doing the max effort swings is easy it can be difficult to do the full intent swing at the same level of intensity as suggested. Originally I had to redo the baseline because my original baseline was below what I was performing on the course. Without hitting a ball, I find that it can be difficult to judge whether the swing is truly full intent or not.
Anyways, the increase in distance is real which is why I have decided to continue with the next program.
In terms of downsides, I should share that I am somewhat struggling to find my new rhythm. The fact of doing max intent swings seems to encourage me to swing faster than my full intent swing on the course resulting in more misshots. So I have to remind myself to shoot at 80% on the course and still see an increase in yardage. I expect that the rhythm issue will solve itself naturally as I get used to my new swing speed over time.

PS: On a side note, I now follow the recommended warmup whenever I play whether it is at the range or on the course and I have found it very beneficial.
