So, it seems one of the reasons Unity is so popular isn't just the engine itself, but the plethora of outside free assets and add-ons that either ease or add to the development/functionality.
Now, while I learn C#, I've personally been avoiding using outside tools because I just assumed a lot of these were cheap placeholder assets, but now that I look into it, it seems there's a lot more depth to them than I thought. And obviously, these assets are no substitute for learning real programming, but once you already know the basics, it looks like these could come in handy.
Things like the 2D Player Controller, Level Designer Toolkit, and Unity's official 2D platformer game kit are basically full game functions that I imagine can seriously change the development cycle.
But again, I'm not exactly experienced in this stuff. I don't know if there are that many professional devs that actually use these outside tools, or choose to just build everything in-engine from scratch.
So, I wanted to ask you guys. To anyone who'se used to developing 2D Platformer games, are there any outside tools, such as Unity Store Assets, Pre-Made Gamekits, Add-On programs, etc., that you think new indie devs should be incorporating into their development? Or do you think these tools just gimmicks that distract from real development?

So i vaguely remember its either a gamecube or a dreamcast game i think its the latter but could be both. I remember it was in third person, zombie shooter, there were other people there like in obscure, but i dunno if you could switch them, it was a sewer level and leading all the way down was a boss i just remember this awesome cutscene where this huge white, zombie? Ghoul dude appeared from the sewer water ,i think tgere were also several metal gates atound like tose industrial wire fences, i think there was some lightning effects aswell when the boss appeared, this has bothered me for almost 15 years now and nobody knows what game i mean, im not miremembering im 100 for sure, plese help me fimd this game

I would really like to see a 3rd person sandbox game set in the Seinfeld universe. The game would involve you free-roaming around NYC completing tasks and rescuing Kramer from weird situations.
You would be able to switch between characters and each character will have their unique style of gameplay and missions.
Kramer's missions might involve private investigation. Stuff like creating outfits, going into buildings undercover and engaging in carefully navigated conversations, and following people around the city to try and figure out what they're upto.
George's missions might involve a lot of fast driving. Like navigating from an office to a building before someone else gets there (which might involve taking shortcuts, like going into someone's store and trying to go out the backdoor while they're not looking).
But this won't be a GTA clone or anything. You would have full legal freedom. You can't carjack, but you can buy/rent cars. However if you make a reservation and the car isn't there...........then you can carjack.

We think the same thing can happen with AI in gaming. Here's the deal:

I don't even use team chat. I almost always solo queue and would prefer normal sound profile for headphones. Why does this game have no option to turn off the hands-free default when I join a game?
