2024.05.21 16:31 OkMountain9032 I was so disappointed with Neurodiver

I absolutely loved ROM: 2064! I loved the characters, the sense of humor, the exploration, the puzzles, the drama, etc. I'm even replaying it just to relive the experience. So when I heard Neurodiver was finally making it's way out I couldn't wait to play it. I couldn't wait to revisit the art style, the music, the social conversations and more. Unfortunately that didn't happen
I was extremely disappointed. It had so much potential that it was building up to just to end as soon as it was getting good. It was way too short for how long it was delayed. It pales in comparison to 2064.
Also, it really doesn't feel like a point and click. I was prepared to interact with the world, have a map, and be able to use spoiled milk on stuff again... but this game wasn't that at all. You could only view things not touch, talk, or use. It was like a visual novel with very limited dialogue options. It allowed me to take note of spoiled milk but there wasn't anything else I could do.
The conversations in this game were super shallow and the cast of characters were less charming and more corny. Not enough characters get fully developed. I was very interested in crow and seeing more of Tomcat showcase their hacking skills.
It was nice to see old characters again like Jess, Lexi, Turing, and Tomcat, but It felt so surface level. I thought they'd come into play for the new cast missions, but they're just there for random flashbacks. I was especially disappointed with Turings return. He literally assisted in the robot awakening and became the spokesperson after the whole 2064 incident, but in neurodiver, he hardly mentions it and is only shown as a plant loving sidekick. He doesn't even mention the other main character who he spent so long with solving mysteries.
There was hardly any gameplay at all. The only thing you can really do is enter people's memories, look around at items, and pick random items to try and solve the fragments. I was expecting to go on adventures using Lexis skills, Jess's connections, Tomcats hacking, Turings previous experience, Lunas psychic abilities and Gates combat skills. But we hardly see anything happen as far as gameplay. Gate ended up being useless because the neurodiver was never in any danger or threatened.
I'm hoping they have something else lined up to follow up this game since it ended with " until next time." However, that seems really unlikely in the near future. I'm not sure if I just went in with the wrong expectations of it being a cool continuation of 2064 or developing in that world, but this just wasn't what I hoped for.

2024.05.21 16:29 bepbep_beaches [Online][5e][Sunday 3pm EST][21+] Viloneian Ventures

Viloneia is a land that is ever shifting. From the tribal nation of Chaunshar to the religious scholars of Ormsfield, the world is vast, and it seems like someone is always discovering something new. With the signing of the All Creatures Accord recently, the world has entered an era of peace known as the Accord Age. Wars were concluded and new nations born out of the signing of this Accord, and Viloneia avoided plunging into another Terror Age.
The story is in its infancy, with plenty of room to be written by you and the others at the table. Will you help the Accord Age to prosper, or will you be a piece in the machine that plunges the world back into discord and strife?
Hello everyone! I’m Bep (she/her) and the DM for this game. I am new to DMing but not to 5e in general, as I have played in several games in the past and finally decided to try my hand at running a game. Viloneia is a world entirely of my own creation, and though it’s a young creation, I feel it’s solid enough that I have started running a game in it.
Specifically, I am looking for just one player to fill a spot at my table. We already have 3 established players are are 6 sessions in, but I have decided to take one more player to round things out for reasons I can’t explain, lest I spoil some key plot points, haha.
Viloneia is a high fantasy, medieval type world. You know, normal D&D fare. It has its own pantheon and history that I have all written out and am happy to talk about if you are interested. I just don’t have a player-specific guide written up at this time so it’s easier to tell you more once we get to talking.
I am looking for a player that is:
  • 21+ years of age. Sorry to anyone younger out there, but we’re all 21+ at the table and would like to keep it that way. This is not an NSFW game however. Romance, while permitted, is fade-to-black only. Adult themes may still be present in the course of RP. I run a mature game and so themes that some people may find upsetting can show up.
  • LBTQIA+ positive. There’s no tolerance for hate or discrimination at my table.
  • Active and engaged during games. Be proactive, not reactive, and interact with your party.
  • Inspired to make a character that impacts the world. I am happy to give more details about my world if you contact me!
  • Not afraid of consequences and willing to play a serious game. I don’t run a “haha funny” game. I run a game with serious repercussions to your actions should you choose to do something that deserves those consequences. Be prepared for that.
  • Committed to a long-term game. I’m not running a one-shot here, I want someone who is going to stick with it through months of play.
  • Willing to join a VC for a casual interview in the evening (EST) if asked.
The current makeup of the party is:
  • A Nightblessed (Drow) Elf Paladin, Oath of Watchers
  • A Variant Tiefling Rogue, Soulknife
  • A Variant Tiefling Cleric, Grave
We use Roll20 for maps, D&D Beyond for character sheets, and Discord VC for the actual games.
Games are 4 hours and run from 3pm EST to 7pm EST on Sundays, every week.
If you’re interested, please fill out this brief form. If I like your answers, I'll reach out on Discord. We’ll get to talking from there. I don’t have a very formal application because I’m more confident in my ability to source people based on the vibes I get from conversation.
This will be marked CLOSED once I have found someone.

2024.05.21 16:27 No_Relation_1 34[M4F] #US/online - Stable career but no relationships

I worked hard and I have a well established career now. But this came at the cost of severely limiting my social interactions. I usually travel a lot for work internationally. I've covered 20+ countries so far. Since I've missed a lot of fun so far I'm looking to start now. I'm open to friendships, flirting or even more. We can be travel partners if we get along. I don't care about age as long as you are straightforward. I like exploring new places, trying new cuisines, reading, museums, gaming, etc. If you connect then please drop a DM and tell me about yourself, what you are passionate about, expectations, and a fun fact about yourself. Let's share our stories and maybe we can create one together.

2024.05.21 16:19 DMTRILL [Online][ADND][Mondays][CET] Recruiting 4 players to join a traditional sandbox old school campaign.

Hello!
I go by the name Trill. I'm recruiting 4 players for a weekly campaign on Mondays. The campaign is set for an 8:00 pm CET/2:00 PM EST to run for 2.5-3.5 hours at the latest through Foundry and Discord. Times are firm so not much wiggle room to start later or earlier. Games will be recorded so a mic is required but no webcam.
About Me
I have been GMing for 11 years now. I have run a number of systems from the classics to 3.5 and PF1 as well as a lot of games outside of the D20 sphere. Admittedly this will be my first go at running AD&D 1e but I am prepared and looking forward to the new challenge.
About the Setting & Campaign
The campaign is set in the territory of Voghia on the Loch continent. Far from the sway of the High Chief in Vogh Moldir, you'll be in the wild and war torn region of the Durus Marches. The various Tors controlled by Chiefs all vying for influence in the region as brigands and warlord generals from the scattered kingdom to the south start to encroach on the land. Beyond these two factions there are plenty of other challenges as monstrous creatures from the mountains have been driven out into the plains below by something fearsome within the caves.
As for the campaign itself we will be running AD&D 1e RAW, no house rules or changes made. One of the major rules is how we'll deal with timekeeping however. The campaign will be set in 1:1 time, that means for every day that passes IRL a day will pass within the setting when no play is happening. 1:1 time activates this feeling of the world being "always on". Your characters continue to make progress in whatever you choose, the factions of the setting continue to function, events continue to happen etc. This is a far cry from the conventional play style of modern D&D but one that is incredibly rewarding. The campaign itself will function as a player sandbox, you players drive the story forward with your own motivations and desires. While campaign players will be playing at the micro level, patron players will be playing at the macro. Controlling factions and constantly generating rumors, events and interactions that bring the world alive.
About You
I am looking for consistent and reliable players to join. As this is open to players of all levels and experience, you'll need to be patient if the player is new and getting a feel for the world and game.
18+ only please. I tend to run very morally grey games and while not supremely graphic I do not believe my campaigns to be the best place for 13-17 year olds. I love that there's a new generation coming up that loves TTRPG and wish you all the best in finding the game that works for you.
You'll need a decent mic, nothing fancy just something that sounds clear. To reiterate as well these games ARE RECORDED so if you are uncomfortable with that it is best not to apply.
If any of this sounds exciting or something you'd be interested in please fill out the application and I look forward to seeing the replies!
Application Form Here
I'll be leaving applications open for a bit and will update the post when I've gotten the groups set. I'll be looking to try and reach out immediately but depending on the level of response it may take me a bit!

2024.05.21 16:15 dakodeh MADiSON VR Review

I recently played through MADiSON VR and felt compelled to share my review for anyone on the fence about this title. Bloodious Games has finally given me something in this VR version of Madison that I've been craving in my 7+ years in VR; a game that is almost irresponsibly frightening. A game that probably ought to carry a health warning due to the sheer relentlessness of its frights. Bloodious proves here that they simply do not give a shit how badly Madison VR scares you, they will not hold back, and they do not. For a horror fan (particularly VR horror!) I cannot convey how refreshing this approach is. I came into Madison VR thankfully blind and finished the game in under 6 deliciously terrifying hours (or so the achievement I triggered told me) and I thoroughly dreaded each of them. I'll share my thoughts on The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly with this one.
The Good:
The Bad:
The Ugly:
While I share a healthy amount of constructive (I hope!) criticism in this review, I want to make it clear that I enjoyed Madison VR IMMENSELY. Not only was it exactly the sort of unrelentingly terrifying horror experience that I was looking for in VR, it's a game of exceptional quality. I cannot WAIT to see what Bloodious does next. If you've got the stones to play this one, it's a horror adventure journey worth taking.

2024.05.21 16:15 Kmntna Using elite 2 on PC

Hey all, having a weird issue that makes the game difficult sometimes. I’m playing D2 on my PC but using my elite 2 controller, I turned off the steam game pad stuff Becuase I was having an issue with it pulling up a keyboard and other odd key bindings. That’s all fixed, but I have noticed that occasionally, like after interacting with something (holding x to pick up, or after exiting a menu) my right stick acts as a mouse input and it causes me to look every direction super fast, like shaking your mouse around almost. Once I use the left joystick to move in a direction it corrects it, but it doesn’t seem to be registering as a controller 24/7 which is leading to some untimely deaths in high level content.
Anyone ran into this and have a fix maybe? I do have a PDP wireless controller I could try, but nothing wired. Play on my tv and two large dogs with wires across the room don’t mix.

2024.05.21 16:13 Lexie_DK I have been severely sleeping on this guy

I have been severely sleeping on this guy
Ukupanipo Hekekia - Or Ukupopo as I used to call him, has always been a Sulani Npc, who were just around. Never really catched my eye tbh.
I got the Mermaid overhaul mod, and started a new save, aiming for Paka'a Uha as a future hubby, because I read here that he makes gorgeous babies.... And he just HATES my sim. Regardless if I cheated them to match, and cheated up their relationship bar, it would just TANK, as he apparantly disliked any friendly approach my sim did lol. After 28 Sim days (long life) I gave up with that idea, and then my Sim met Uku, while he was working as a bartender, and they hit it off immidiately.
He became her boyfriend, and was so for a very long time without being in the household, without ever cheating not even once. They had a lot of sleepovers and dates, but he didn't move in till they got married, and soon after that they started to have kids. (and I sat life on normal)
Not only is this guy the most loving Sim husbond I have ever had in game, he is also the best dad without a doubt (sorry Galvin Richards, you lost your first place). I was actually surpriced about all that, what a hidden gem. I am mostly controlling just my own sim, so a lot of his interactions with the kids is of his own accord or them asking him.
I am however a little worried about how his kids will turn out - but I guess I'll find out soon enough.
But yeah, here's some pictures of this baby daddy, that really surpriced me. You guys should give this NPC a chance some day :D
Uku and my sim
Uku is a great dad, who autonomusly spend a lot of time with his kids, so much so that he got the childish trait.
Enjoying quality time
Always first responder
Having the nanny over when mom is at work, though she mostly cooks and watch TV
He keeps having whims about winning a game of cards, I don't think he realizes that his wife is maxed in logic :P
Their two son's, they are not twins! Just the baby brother was consieved right after they got back from the hospital from giving birth to their first son >.> . Soon another son will join the household.

2024.05.21 16:06 Jad900 My issue with having Yasuke as a playable character

So I've been a fan of this series for years and I've played all the games, my favourites are probably the ezio collection games, unity and black flag. Anyway my issue with this is that in every other assassins creed game you do not play as a real historical person, u play as someone who interacts with historical figures. I'm so happy Yasuke is in this game and it will be cool to see what they do with him but I'd rather he be like a main character that's not playable if that makes sense.
It's not really a big complaint or issue and no it's not because he's a black samurai (some people who hate on this game cause of this need to grow up and read history) I'd just like to see what people think about this. Anyway I think they made him a playbale main character as I've seen people say that even though he was real there's not alot written or recorded about him so it does make sense. I'd just prefer if they were both the main characters but she was the only playable one but that's just me.

2024.05.21 16:06 damurphy72 Constellation Members and the End Game

Some thoughts occurred to me about the members of Constellation and Unity. This is absolutely going to be filled with massive spoilers. Every member of Constellation plays an important role in the story and has interesting ramifications.
The members of Constellation, ignoring Vasco, include Matteo, Vladimir, Noel, Walter, and the four companions Sarah, Barrett, Sam, and Andreja. Bethesda has given us a deliberate cross-section of the Settled Systems population. You have the former Crimson Fleet pirate, the Akila scion, the Va'ruun agent, the former UC officer, the Freestar industrialist, the Universalist religious guy, the scientist, and the "rogue." Actually, let's not ignore Vasco. The role of AI in this game is VERY ominous in a lot of ways, so Vasco may someday have more of a role than just "companion without strong opinions or personality."
The non-companion members are pretty non-intrusive, though Walter does have a field mission. I suspect that if you're going to have a talent like Armin Shimerman, you want to give him something to work on. Every time I see the interaction between Walter and his wife Issa, I want to find somebody who thinks the writing in this game is bad and hit them with a water balloon filled with maple syrup. Going back to the end-game topic, though, Walter serves as a perfect example of the biggest practical drawback of going through the Unity. He doesn't want to jump because he is rich, and going through means you lose ALL your stuff. It's a pretty sound thing to have somebody call this out explicitly for the player so they don't jump and be like, "wait, where's my customized starship filled with loot?"
Noel and Matteo are interesting in terms of their role. They very much serve as the sounding boards for the scientific and spiritual aspects of the artifacts, temples, and the Unity. Neither of them want to jump because they still have things to do. At first, my impression of them was that they were pretty much pointless once you learn what's really going on with the Starborn. I've reconsidered that, because we very much know what is happening, but not how or why. Ultimately, Noel and Matteo may be the most sensible members of Constellation by knowing what they don't yet know and refusing to leap into the unknown just because an angelic or demonic space dude with super powers tells you to do so.
Vladimir is unfortunately the quest-giver of the group. He's key to sending you along to the artifacts and temples...and the fact that you have to keep going back to him is a common complaint because it gets a little tedious. His role as the quest-giver also tends to overshadow his background with the Crimson Fleet, which I think is a missed opportunity when you're working for SysDef and infiltrating them. Vladimir Sall is the perfect example of an interesting premise that for some reason has largely been relegated to just being one of the mechanics of the game. He has some interesting things to say and a house you can visit, but I can't help but see him as a missed opportunity.
Now we have the four human companions, and it's interesting to me that they divide neatly into two categories. You have Sarah and Barrett on one side and Sam and Andrea on the other. What do I mean by that?
Sarah and Barrett are the most engaged in the Starborn world. Barrett can actually get powers and the Emissary turns out to be a version of Sarah (I did say MAJOR spoilers, didn't I?). What's really interesting, though, is that both of their companion quests are about dealing with the past. Sarah is dealing with the aftermath of her fighting in the war, while Barrett is dealing with the loss of his husband. They're trying to get closure. They have things they need to finish up before going on their next big adventure. They're also both somewhat disconnected from others. Sarah isn't really close with her surviving parent and she doesn't want any of the other members of Constellation at her wedding. Barrett travels alone with a robot and has since the death of his husband. Even the combat in their companion quests involves fighting alien animals rather than other people (because fighting is a form of engagement). The two of them are pretty much setting themselves up to be ready to move on.
Sam and Andreja are in the opposite situation. Sam's companion mission is about dealing with his ex-wife and daughter. Andreja's is about her relationship with her people (and is blatantly left on a cliff-hanger for DLC). In both of their quests, you are fighting other people -- syndicate thugs or zealots -- because both of these characters are still actively involved in this universe. Sure, indications are that both will eventually jump (assuming they survive), but neither of them is ready to move on at this point. Their acceptance of you jumping even seems a little forced to me, like they're agreeing solely for reasons of plot.
What I wonder about is whether or not this dichotomy with the companions was deliberate. You have a male and a female who need closure and are ready to jump and you have another male and female who are very much still actively engaged in life in this universe. Was the idea to give players a romance option with the preferred gender and perspective combination?
I have a sneaking suspicion that a tremendous amount of effort went into crafting the members of Constellation. Even if you find them annoying, I would suggest playing at least a few universes straight with them and seeing what they have to say. It's great that Bethesda gives you the option to ignore them, but there is a lot built up around them and I have to wonder how the eventual "resolution" of the whole Starborn premise may play into what we learn in our first play-through.

2024.05.21 16:06 ScribeoftheAncients Need Advice Curbing Metagaming/Powergaming

Hello! This is my first post here so I hope thus doesn't break the "no problem player post" rule since it is about the running the game with players at my table.
I run virtual games of D&D through text, as I don't prefer voice for virtual games, and I've noticed a lot of sidetalk during combat and encounters. That's usually fine. It's not disruptive. We play over text so it can just happen in a different channel. Everyone wins.
Recently I've been noticing a large amount of metagaming that has me worried and is directly impacting MY enjoyment of the game.
One player in particular likes to optimize their character and it works okay within the group dynamic, so that isn't an issue. However I have noticed times when this player counts monster HP and declares whenever they see a discrepancy. This is usually because they dont know about resistances or immunities that i describe and they ignore. They also like to try and be helpful by providing "advice" for other players that the rest if my table largely is fine with, but it has led to them pretty much talking through everyone's turn.
While I'm fine with players who want to pay attention and engage, this behavior has led to the opposite with them not engaging and loudly (as loudly as you can over text) declaring when a scene or fight is a "cutscene fight" to them. This is a fight that they feel they have little impact on. EX: Reducing an enemy with 44 hp to 4 hp in 1 round and then considering the fact they can't 1 round enemies too difficult/makes them irrelevant
Other players don't share the same views on these encounters and also feel this player has largely the most impact on combat (despite them claiming to not have any agency or importance while counting HP) due to being optimized. Other players also lean into metagaming more than I would like, and often ask me to post monster features and stats during the combat.
All of these is NOT really something I enjoy. I don't see my job as DM to be an antagonist and kill them with monsters, but i also don't see a reason to game-ify combat to the point where the narrative stakes are buried. Most of my encounters are made ad-hoc when tensions and negations get to a place where it is necessary, and the map is largely found during RP. The stats are preplanned and usually just official monsters reskinned, with the names filed off, or with 1:1 changes in immunities, resistances, and damage types.
I would appreciate advise in how to reduce this severe of metagaming without being too strict/too restrictive on my player's playstyles. I've tried communicating that I have a particular style of DMing, but it continues to rebuffed by comments like "but my other DM does it another way" or "it just makes more sense to me". The most valid of which is "if you post the feature we have a better idea of how to interact with it" but I have attempted to communicate that I don't really care about the exact mechanics AND have been lenient when the players attempt something out of the box.

2024.05.21 16:04 Shoddy-Blacksmith121 YouTube Not Recommending Videos [Discussion]

Hello everyone. Hope you can help me.
Recently I started posting ASMR videos on my channel. The first ones had really bad quality and to be honest not the greatest sound or very interesting for the wider audience. Since then I upped my game, improved the quality of recording, tweaked the blue yeti etc etc. After that the channel took off a little bit. For three videos I had a total of 1200 views and gained like 60 subscribers (currently at 78). The thing is the past 3 videos I have posted, I believe them to be as good but they don’t get any views or get suggested at all by YouTube (literally the last video had 0 new viewers, it was all from people who had already subscribed, which I of course appreciate).
I have created the account in 2019 and posted a few ASMR videos in 2019 that have since then been removed by me. Is it because the account is so old YouTube is not giving me a chance ?
Should I create a new account ?
I have the profile all set up. Images, descriptions, etc. I put the video in the category Entertainment, put the tags (if you can recommend tags that would be great), I believe everything. I interact with people through the account and have been using it more to watch videos and comment on other people’s videos.
I seriously don’t know what to do. I do this as a hobby and of course do it for me. But it would be nice to be seen a little bit. I do it for myself with the intent of providing people with something good and relaxing they can watch.
Hope you can help me. Thank you.
TLDR: recent video uploads not getting suggested by YouTube (0 new few people). The account was created in 2019 and I published a few ASMR videos that i deleted in 2020. I believe I have everything set up. Am I doing something wrong ? Should I create a new channel ?

2024.05.21 16:01 Altruistic_Bike5975 Sims 4 Pack Idea

Sims 4 Pack Idea
Creating a Sims 4 expansion pack themed around disabilities would be a significant step towards inclusivity and representation in gaming.
I know this pack may be controversial, but I think it is mandatory to represent a wide range of abilities in the Sims 4. I would love to see you partner with an organization and give some profits to the charity, or distribute this pack for free among those who need it. This would incentivise many people to play the pack.
This might be too late, but perhaps in the Sims 5? Many people are heartbroken and don't appreciate Sims because they are unable to accurately represent themselves.
This is a long document but trust me, it is worth it. Here’s a concept outline for such an expansion pack:

Title: The Sims 4: Inclusive Living

Key Features:

  • Adaptive Living: New build/buy mode items like wheelchair ramps, stairlifts, and adjustable kitchen counters.
  • Assistive Technology: High-tech devices like hearing aids, advanced prosthetics, canes, and speech-generating devices that Sims can interact with. Also Elders and
  • Service Animals: Trained dogs that can assist Sims with visual or hearing impairments, and provide emotional support.
  • Career Paths: New jobs and volunteer opportunities in disability advocacy, rehabilitation, and accessibility design.
  • Community Programs: Sims can participate in or organize events like Paralympic sports, sign language classes, and support groups.
  • Inclusive Fashion: Clothing options that are both functional and stylish for Sims with various body types and needs.
  • Canes & Crutches: Sims can use canes and crutches to help them walk and travel from their age, abilities or injuries.
  • Education & Awareness: Sims can learn about different disabilities, promoting understanding and empathy in the community.

Gameplay Mechanics:

  • Personalized Challenges: Players can select specific disabilities for their Sims, each with unique challenges and daily living experiences.
  • Accessibility Score: Homes and public venues have an ‘accessibility score’ that impacts Sim interactions and moodlets.
  • Social Dynamics: Relationships can be deepened by navigating through experiences of acceptance, support, and advocacy.

Storytelling Opportunities:

  • Triumph Over Adversity: Sims can achieve life goals despite challenges, inspiring others in the Sim community.
  • Community Builder: Sims can lead initiatives to make their world more inclusive, affecting the entire neighborhood.
  • Everyday Heroes: Highlight stories of Sims who, through their efforts, improve life for themselves and others.

Relationships:

  • Understanding and Empathy: Relationships could be strengthened as Sims learn to understand and empathize with each other’s experiences. This could lead to deeper bonds and new interactions, such as offering help or learning sign language together.
  • New Social Interactions: Sims could have unique social interactions based on their disabilities. For example, a Sim with a hearing impairment might use sign language, while a Sim with a visual impairment might rely more on verbal communication.
  • Challenges and Triumphs: Sims could face challenges in their relationships due to accessibility issues or misunderstandings, but overcoming these could lead to triumphant moments and stronger connections.
  • Support Systems: Sims with disabilities might create support systems, leading to friendships and relationships based on shared experiences and mutual support.
  • Caregiving Roles: Some Sims might take on caregiving roles, impacting the dynamics of a relationship. This could include siblings, friends, or partners who support each other.
  • Educational Moments: Sims without disabilities might have educational moments where they learn about accessibility and inclusivity, impacting their worldview and relationships with others.

Hobbies and Skills:

  • Adaptive Sports: Sims could engage in sports like wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, or adaptive swimming, which could be both hobbies and competitive pursuits.
  • Art & Music Therapy: Creative expression through painting, sculpting, or digital art could be a hobby that also serves as a therapeutic outlet for Sims. Also playing instruments adapted for various abilities or participating in choirs could be a hobby that enhances emotional well-being and social connections.
  • Gardening with Accessibility: Raised garden beds and accessible greenhouses could allow Sims to enjoy gardening without physical barriers.
  • Inclusive Dance: Dance classes designed for all ability levels could be a hobby that celebrates movement in various forms.
  • Disability Advocacy: Sims could take up blogging, vlogging, or podcasting to share their experiences and advocate for disability rights as a hobby.
  • Pet Training: Training service animals or therapy pets could be a rewarding hobby that also supports the community.
Remember, when creating or conspiring game content, it’s important to ensure that it is respectful and accurately represents the experiences of individuals with disabilities. It is also essential to make sure that it is compatible with the already existing Sims 4 Worlds. I hope you consider this idea. Happy Simming! 🎮

2024.05.21 16:01 Shoddy-Blacksmith121 YouTube Not Recommending Videos. Should I create a new account ? [Question] [Help] [Discussion]

2024.05.21 15:54 QeenMagrat Ugh, I feel like the dinner was a bust

Just need to vent a bit.
We did the dinner with Strahd yesterday. I had decided to make it a real life dinner as well, which in hindsight was probably biting off more than I could chew (pun not intended, ha). I had made the entree and dessert in advance, but the main needed to be put on the stove halfway through the game, which kind of took us out of the flow. Didn't help that my husband had a nasty cold so his executive function was shot (ADHD) and I needed to direct him too - although he did help exactly as I asked him to.
And then the session itself I found kind of... underwhelming? It doesn't help that the book offers NO guidance whatsoever. I read a ton of guides on this subreddit and watched videos on Youtube, but there was still a lingering "ok so they're in Castle Ravenloft... now what?" It doesn't help that there are about twelve billion NPCs running around so I'm constantly talking to myself. I keep forgetting that Ireena is there too and obviously people are going to react to her and she is reacting to things as well, and then I basically have to creep on myself because obviously Strahd isn't going to be cool about Ireena being in his castle at all. :p Then there's Rahadin, the Brides, Escher, Gertruda... I could at least give Escher and Gertruda some screen time, but the Brides were in the dining room and the PCs were like "let's sit as far away from them as possible and just not interact with them because they are kinda scary", and I was too busy talking about what Strahd was doing that the Brides never got much of a personality beyond the smiling/bitchy/spacey one. I also wanted to do a bit of a Strahd monologue (based on this awesome post) but I plain forgot about it since I was so busy holding all the spinning plates in the air.
Plus the castle itself. TOO MANY ROOMS. The characters were like "no we're not going to sneak around, let's be on our best behavior", but at least a few of them accepted the offer of a guided tour by Escher, so I took them along a few rooms. Part of it is on me not reading the chapter ahead in detail and making note of what is where, admittedly. One of them wanted to go to a library, so I had Anastrasya take him there (he's a necromancer who is super into magic so I felt that the pairing made sense) but I'm not even 100% sure there IS such a library so I just made shit up. The others visited the chapel where they saw the Icon of Ravenloft, and I made up some stuff about them seeing portraits of Strahd's parents and Sergei (and very pointedly NOT Tatyana; according to Escher Sergei just died tragically somehow, very sad for His Lordship). I did hint that there was stuff under the castle but they were not supposed to go there. Also Ireena had regained her memories at the Krezk pool and I mentioned that she seemed to know her way around the castle a bit better than Ireena is supposed to, so at least there's that.
It wasn't a TOTAL bust. I had each of them receive a message in their head asking them to join him (based on this post), which was pretty great, especially as I hadn't given all of them the same red/white join/refuse offer so they didn't know who was signalling what. All but one of them refused. :p I also had Strahd basically tell them to go to the Amber Temple next; they're level 8 now so that is rather nicely on track. And they liked the food I had made! I had also printed out some Wizards of Wine labels and pasted them on some wine bottles that held red and white grape juice which was quite a big hit, so that was fun.
But overall, ugh. I hope the Amber Temple is going to be fun - the players are looking forward to some nice dungeon crawling, at the very least, and first they need to get there to begin with! But as a DM, this later stage of CoS is just... A Lot.

2024.05.21 15:52 Sad-Competition2936 Guys…. The game breaking bugs, what gives?

“Alone in the Dark,” the recent reboot of the iconic survival horror series, has unfortunately become a prime example of how game-breaking bugs can utterly ruin an otherwise promising game. Despite its potential to revive the franchise with modern graphics and mechanics, the experience is marred by a plethora of technical issues that make it nearly unplayable.
First and foremost, the game is plagued with frequent crashes that disrupt the gameplay. Whether you’re in the middle of an intense chase sequence or solving a critical puzzle, the game’s tendency to abruptly crash can be incredibly frustrating. This isn’t an occasional hiccup; it’s a persistent problem that many players have encountered, effectively halting their progress and diminishing their enjoyment.
In addition to crashes, “Alone in the Dark” suffers from severe glitches that can trap the player in unresolvable situations. Characters may become stuck in the environment, unable to move or interact with necessary objects. At times, essential items disappear or fail to spawn, making it impossible to advance the story. These bugs force players to restart from previous save points, often losing significant progress in the process.
Performance issues further compound the game’s troubles. Frame rate drops are frequent, particularly during action-heavy scenes or in areas with complex lighting effects. These slowdowns not only break immersion but can also make combat and exploration feel sluggish and unresponsive.
Moreover, the game’s AI is notoriously unreliable. Enemies frequently exhibit erratic behavior, either becoming inexplicably passive or getting stuck in loops, making encounters feel less threatening and more laughable. This inconsistency detracts from the horror elements, as the sense of danger is undermined by the predictable and often buggy enemy patterns.
The developers have yet to release patches addressing these widespread issues, leaving many players frustrated and disappointed. The game’s narrative and atmosphere show glimpses of the eerie charm that made the original series a classic, but these moments are overshadowed by the overwhelming technical flaws.
In its current state, “Alone in the Dark” is a cautionary tale about the importance of thorough testing and post-launch support. Until the developers address these game-breaking bugs, it’s hard to recommend this title, even to the most die-hard fans of the series. What could have been a successful revival is instead a stark reminder that technical stability is crucial for any game’s success.

2024.05.21 15:51 TheRealPetri [Online][GMT[PF2e] Moderately experienced player looking for a bi/weekly game

I am currently looking for a Thursday, Friday or Sunday game starting between 15-20 UTC (Fridays I am available from 19 UTC).
In general I have played TTRPGs for about 4 years, for PF specifically I have a played in one campaign so far, meaning that I understand how general mechanics work, but I do not have advanced knowledge about most classes. I have also used Roll20 (both as a GM and a player), Foundry and Tabletop Simulator.
I love the story building side of TTRPGs the most, along with proper player interaction and have been looking for some people that do as well. I do however enjoy some mechanics and creativity in combat as well, I am thriving for more balanced 50/50 games.
I love watching the story unfold and getting to see everyone in the group have their shining badass moments and growth. However, it would be nice for everyone to be interested in the story. Jokes are great, but I don't want them to be 90% of the sessions.
I am not interested in paid games, can't afford it at the moment.
If interested let me know on my discord here: .thepetri

2024.05.21 15:50 DankRedPandoo The amount of bugs I have encountered recently is too high.

So I recently started playing again and the amount of bugs I've been encountering is ridiculous.
In 4 hours alone I had 1 game freeze and crash, 1 pelican wouldn't land, 2 game breaks where reinforce wouldn't work, 1 game freeze with no crash. Unable to interact with an item, and unable to interact with war map on friends ship.
7 bugs in 4 hours is a bit much, especially since most of the time it happens towards the end of a mission nullifying all effort and wasting close to 30 minutes of my time. I put the game down yesterday because I just couldn't be bothered to risk 30 minutes of my time to a game breaking bug.
Also seeing there is no patch does not bring me any joy.

2024.05.21 15:48 stepgothic I need a good server

Hello to all Minecrafters, and condolences to the rest. Six months ago I dreamed of some game that combined everything best from Rust, Minecraft and civilization. And I found something similar called Eco (I actually recently learned about this game). Recommend me some server that has everything from this game: economy, mandatory interaction between players, some common goal to complete the game (level up science, build a rocket and go to the moon), unification into states, conflicts, wars and the like. Preferably with a separate client and modpack installed.
