I finish downloading the game. It opens fine, Has a landing screen. I go to join server. I want official. No officials without at least one mod (this dear jane thing). But can I install it from the point of it telling me I need it? Nope, trying takes me to page that is identical to the install page I would eventually find except that it lacks an install button. An install page that I have to reach through the landing page, which it seems I have to close and reopen the client to get to, as there is no readily apparent way to back out to that initial page. Once I'm actually in the mods list.
Searching seems to have little to nothing to do with whole phrase or even whole word matching. Rather it seems to narrow a search alphabetically one letter at a time and if you get ahead of it's ability to think it doesn't know what you want and shows you random results or no results at all. So I type d (lowercase mind you because it automatically throws out all results if I type upper case even though that exactly matches the result)...e...a... Ah there it pops up. I click install. It waits a ridiculously long time to download 272.89.MB before failing. I click it again, and again, and again. Fails each time. I restart client. I restart machine. Same result. Down speed connection is fine,. there's plenty of storage space.
Okay, so maybe a manual install. Those are generally better anyway. But where to extract to? I know what drive the game is on. But every googling of what directory to extract to yields a path I simply don't have or can't find. I know where the game is located. I'm looking through every folder and sub folder one by one. Can't find anything that indicates that's where the mod should extract to...
I'm stuck. No idea what to do here. I expected the game itself to be unoptimized. I didn't think I'd have to learn game development just to play it. Glad the game was gifted or I might be fuming right now instead of just being annoyed and confused. But can anyone tell me what to actually do here to get this up and running?

I'm so fucking sick of taking 1-3 hours to fall asleep (yes THREE HOURS) each night and then waking up long before I get 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Whereas I know that many other people fall asleep and for a long time uninterrupted much much faster, like my dad who will be snoring in less than 5 mins. No I don't have any diagnosed sleep disorders, my body in particular is just fucking retarded. Just wound up with this sorry excuse for a body how unfortunate oh well
Tonight I made it a point to sleep extra early, at 11pm, when I had been sleeping at 1-3am for a while before. I took a warm shower, then immediately went to bed without looking at any screens (even if I did, both my phone and computer are perpetually on night mode anyway). I also don't drink alcohol or abuse any substances, basically I should be in good condition to have restful sleep most nights. Well guess what? I actually did fall asleep relatively quickly, probably in under an hour, but my retard fuck body ruins what would be a productive sleep by waking up at 2am and it's been an hour of lying in the dark trying every USELESS fucking sleep help technique i know of (counting backwards from 500, thinking of words for each letter of the alphabet, relaxing muscles one by one... all strategies that seem to work for other people having trouble sleeping but OF COURSE NOT ME), so I give up and I'm here ranting about how much I want to inflict suffering on my own useless noncooperative pussy of a body. Daytime tomorrow I'm probably going to be tired as shit and only THEN I'll fall asleep easily........ hmmmm i wonder why? fucking retard
It's like you don't want to work with me you fucking sorry piece of meat. I work out on most days and stuff food down my body, wayyy more calories than my natural bitch body's appetite, both healthy things that would be expected to help sleep, but then this shit happens? Is this shit youre pulling on me your way of getting revenge on me for putting you through this (exercising and eating like a healthy person)? I'm doing this for you and our health you fucking ingrate.
I also have diarrhea rn, have had it for a few days, I don't even know how the fuck that happens considering that my day to day diet (which is pretty healthy as far as I can tell; good macronutrients, calorie surplus to gain weight, and good amount of water) barely fluctuates. In theory 1L of milk every day may in theory result in the shits, but I have been drinking the same amount of milk everyday for months without any problems (I know it's the same because I buy those 3-pack bags of milk from the store and go through 1 bag/day). And if it turns out im lactose intolerant? Oh well just another entry in my body's massive catalogue of faults, no surprise there.
Speaking of eating, also such a fucking pussy in that regard. Tonight 2am woke up with extreme hunger pangs even though I finished eating, meeting my daily calorie/protein goal right before bed (and lying down or taking a shower soon after eating is apparently bad for you, wow very cool! fucking retarded human body requires so much shit and then refuses to work even when those requirements are met) so im here typing this as i eat goldfish crackers. I spend a disgusting amount of time cooking, shopping and calorie counting (which is fine) but also a disgusting amount of time EATING because my body is, again, a fucking pussy. I am probably one of the slowest eaters I know period, I could probably literally be starving and still take 30min to finish 500cal worth of rice. And the constant gagging that always seems to happen in the latter half of any meal, shut the fuck up and down it you useless sack of shit.
Ok now lets talk about the gym. Weak ass pathetic fucking body, of course i am small and skinny by default because my genetics said fuck you and im stuck with this. I've been training on and off for almost 2 years now yet some people who have literally never touched a weight or counted a single calorie in their life can probably lift more than me and somehow also progress faster and gain faster if they keep going because woohoo genetics!!!! maybe if you decided to cooperate and sleep like a normal functional body you would be much better off physically? unless you want to be a fucking loser for good, you sorry cunt. Now don't get me wrong, I have improved quite a lot over my training, but... see above
I wish I could dissociate my mind, soul and consciousness from my body, give it a retroactive consciousness of its own, and punish it for all the bitchmade shit its been pulling. Don't want to fall asleep? Well I hope you enjoy being fully awake for the whole night because I'm going to be torturing you medieval style the whole time. Thats what you wanted right? Hahahaha. And this is just the physical side of things, not even going to get into the other shit. At least I'm mentally okay I guess, don't have depression or anxiety or anything, so we know those arent causing my somatic problems its just my body being fucking stunted
There is so much more I want to get out but it's 4am now and i'm tired on less than 3 hours of sleep and we all know why. yes, it's so fun how I'm too tired to do anything, yet unable to sleep! so very fun!! worst of both worlds, thanks for nothing fucking disabled body. I'm going to play video games to hopefully wear myself out ENOUGH, then try to head back to sleep with zero guarantee of success. good night

Is Vietnamese numerology different from English? The reason is because Vietnamese has a different alphabet than English. Vietnamese has a ă â, u ư, o o ơ. Does it affect the result to conclude the index in numerology. The reason I put up this question is because according to the countries there will be different alphabets and how to calculate numbers and soul indices. For example, in English the letter Z equal to 8 whereas in Cestina, the letter Z equal to 5. Is there anything misunderstanding here?

I'm looking for a writing app, similar to word, that will allow me to write hangul and spell check it.
I've tried using word (by switching the keyboard to hangul), but it doesn't spell check and when I use the scribble pen it ends up registering what I'm writing before I've completed writing the word. And a lot of times it does register the correct letter either, like it'll change 로 into 고 a lot.
All the hangul specific apps I've found seem to focus only on the hangul alphabet, which is great. But I want to start recalling my vocab and this is an excellent method for me that worked well when I was studying french.

Hey y'all! Chronic Rizposter returning for some wild speculation after half of my theories have been completely invalidated, but I was right about Jace Stardiamond being evil-ish
Anyway I'm calling it now, Senior Year is A) The Gang Fights God (Corrupted/Solace-Supremacist Sol), B) The Gang Jumps Through Time, or C) both of those put together.
If the Bobby Dawn thread isn't tied up by the finale of FHJY, it means we've seen a Bastion City Cleric of Sol played as a classic televangelist yeehaw. Along with the militarization of their Paladin sect via Pamela Dawn, it implies a Strong Correlation with modern American Evangelism. We know that Sol was all too happy to let Ankarna fall, presumably gaining her share of the solar domain. Whether that was the beginning, or it had started before, Bobby and Pamela Dawn represent an all-too-familiar extremist sect of Sol-family worshippers that then might have radicalized folks like The Harvestmen. Brennan historically loves a corrupt church AND a real-life political allegory, so I think the crumbs been left in this direction.
Second part is way more vibes-based. We all know Chronomancy is the most powerful form of magic. We haven't seen or heard much from the Agueforts this year beyond Ayda's letters. Unless this is also tied up in the finale, there's no way they don't do a Time Quangle-style jump through the eras in their final year. Maybe it's in the second leg of the season when they need to rev up, they go collect allies or macguffins. Maybe Aguefort is either in danger of closing or being occupied by Church Staff after this season as a result of the Ankarna plot. Maybe Bakarath and Squeem show up, who knows.
TL;DR Sol's worshippers seem mighty extreme so far, wonder how that's affecting the deity

We also note the following, namely that the actual stone version of 𓆎 [I6] type, as Gardiner drew it, and ASCII character made, does not even look like the 10-layered or 11-layered thing, shown on the Cleopatra cartouche, which makes the /k/ phono, according to Young, i.e there are no spiked “spines” or whatever things shown:

Now, as it has already been semi-proved that Young’s 𓂋 [D21], thing: “mouth 👄”, assignment of the / phonetic is incorrect, because:
  1. The TombUJ number tag 100 ram head 𓍢 [V1] type is the correct / phonetic, as this matches with the Greek rho (Ρ, ρ), which also is letter R
  2. The Chinese mouth symbol 口 does not make the / phonetic, but rather is a symbol for ALL phonetics,
It would therefore seem to be probable to assert that 𓆎 [I6] type does NOT make the /k/ phonetic, nor is even likely a crocodile 🐊 anything? The Egyptians, e.g., were known to mummy crocodiles 🐊, not cut them into this: 𓆎 [I6] shape? Nor does the shape shown in stone above look like crocodile scales:

One thing that comes to mind is that the I6 is a symbol of the rising 150-day flood waters, as shown below, overlaid on this image:

This rising flood 💦 waters icon meaning of I6, would seem to make more sense, as the flood waters are so-called “life blood” of the Egyptian culture, as the flood waters bring the black soil from the Ethiopian mountains, which allowed for fresh nitrogen-rich soil each year, as compared to other places on the earth, wherein fertilizer or manure needs to be added to the soil, or crop rotation used.

But I'll tell you what. Post the same over to AncientEgyptian. Otherwise, it stays down under rule 5, which is an important exception we make to prevent free-for-all BS claims from flooding the discussion

Secondly, we might also note the irony that I have to ask permission at the AncientEgyptian sub to post an “evolution of language (from Egyptian)” diagram, when I am already the mod of egyptianlanguage?
In any event, both subs, as we see, are in unified agreement that there are NO connections between Greek and Egyptian, and to even suggest so will get you banned (or post-removed)!

2024.05.18 23:25 plucky_wood Learning Levantine/MSA together?

Would love some advice please. I'm a very recent beginner to learning arabic - basically I've done the basics on duolingo, so I can recognise all the letters of the alphabet and sound out words, and know a few phrases. I'm moving on from duolingo now and planning out the next steps of study.
My girlfriend is Syrian, so a big reason I'm learning is to be able to talk to her friends and family (and understand what the hell they're saying). And because of that, I also have a whole group of people I can practice speaking Levantine Arabic with. So that's obviously a good reason to study Levantine arabic.
But I also love reading and writing, and I'd love to be able to read e.g. arabic news or books in the original language. And from what I understand, almost all literature and media is written in MSA - so in order to be able to read that effectively, I'd really need to study MSA, right?
So would it be crazy to try to study these together? Maybe get a textbook or course on MSA to practice reading and writing, and practice speaking and listening Levantine with my girlfriend? Should I just focus on Levantine and only look for resources about Levantine? Or should I focus on MSA first?
Any thoughts appreciated!

I don’t check this sub often, but if this a common refrain, absolutely no apologies from me—because Zynga needs to listen at least once!
Contrary to their marketing and explaining away, no fools “popularly demanded” multiple K, C, V, U to help us make it to 200. It’s asinine to consider we’d believe this ploy to make us waste power-ups, coins, time, and I guess they’re hoping actual cash on these minigames, because the new tipsy balance of letters is so skewed and confining.
PSA, it’s not flashy news: Higher scoring letters don’t make higher scoring words!! Most English words contain vowels—or they did, last I checked in on the legitimate composing features of the Roman alphabet. (“QGP” can SCK DCK.)
I paid a couple bucks for the complete game over a decade ago and haven’t given them a dime since. I have 99+ in all the power ups except hindsight because that’s the only one I use, costs 5 coin and I’m typically approaching 1500 of them.
Far from boastful here, that’s just the nature of mobile fake-scrabble addiction. Well, my player stats are decent, too, which is what we should mainly do within a game. Ya know, play it. With live opponents / no cheats.
But solo challenge used to be fun and relaxing. Now it’s frustrating—and accosting AF. Like I can’t breeze through my normal games without accidentally clicking King Clown Bozo and his un-punny one-liner.
Stop with this. Please. I beseech the Zynga gods lurking on Reddit. Your mildly-infuriated loyalist begs you. I can offer no threats nor incentives for it to change…but as the legacy Simpsons did preach—venting prevents (some) explosion.

I am learning Urdu alphabets right now, and I came across the word lekin but don’t understand the formation of it.
It’s written as : لیکن
I understand everything else but not the inclusion of the two dots since the letter “k” (ک) doesn’t have any dots. Also, if “q”(ق) is being used, then why does it have the formation of the standing line in ک ?
Can someone please help me with this? Thankyouu!
