ONE THING TO ADD I did suspect it might be a canary but it sounded so hawk-like I wanted to get a second or a dozen second opinions.
I have a feeder and usually notice new birds when I hear a call I don't recognize. This adorable little thing swung by with one of the local House Finch bois. It was at least half the size of the male finch, almost as small as a hummingbird. But it sounded like... a teeny tiny eagle? A hawk? It was such a beautiful sound!
It had similar patterns to a male House Finch but bright yellow instead of the reds I'm familiar with. Other than the coloring, the calls it made were different enough that I can't really identify it against the other birbs that come by. I have so many new birds at my feeder lately, it's honestly such a blessing in this cold world lol
BUT YEAH thanks for the help! :) Teeny tiny, yellow and tan, pipes like a hawk, uber cute, hangs with the local Finch Gang.

Cage opinions.
I was originally going to build my own out of wood and wire mesh, then I learned galv is toxic to birds and they'd just chew through the wood.
So do y'all think this is a decent cage for two budgies. It almost fits.the exact space I have to fit a cage.
Will they be able to get some decent hang time?

Algae problem? Phase? Help :(
I’ve seen lots of different comments on what to do for algae and not sure what direction to go for myself. It’s a 100 gal trough pond, 6 feeder fish(started with 7 but just lost one today), one plant, and is covered by shade about 75% of the time. Everything seems to be testing normal.
The video is from last week but now I can’t see the bottom. Is this just a phase as the plant has sprouted so much? Should I use barley extract? API Algaefix? Get daphnia? I’ve had the tank set up for about two months and added fish a month ago after making sure everything was good to go.

So me and my best friend played the 1st game at the beginning of covid and we become addicted. We spent hours upon hours playing. Well the same is true for the second game. So far be both have clocked over 100 hours actively playing the game and we have are farm up to level 110 with . While Playing I had some ideas for things in the game that I hope my be helpful for the development team.

This shop would be used to upgrade things like Tractor Speed, Farm Hands Area Range ( when/if they are brought to the second game)

When Harvesting farm animals change it to be like harvesting fish so I only have to hit the button once to harvest all the ones that are connected. Would make life more enjoyable not to have to cover so much land since we do that with flowers ,crops, and trees.

My first success with aquarium plants was Oak-Leaf Water-Sprite, back in 1969 in a ten gallon with too many feeder guppies. The woman who owned the LFS always had a bunch of it for sale on her counter in baggies, for a $1 usually about 3 plants the size of a coffee mug base. You can grow it floating or planted in gravel, it always thrived, especially if the tank was a Nitrate farm like my 10 gallon. Anyone still growing this?
I have some images of my greenhouse's water trough with some massive aerial leaves the Cornuta put out after a few months of growing in our cloudy spring sunlight filtered by a couple sheets of plastic tarping. These plants when they get their roots in a substrate they like will get enormous. The plant pictured was recently removed last fall and weighed nearly 12 pounds, it was a a conglomerate of four little 3 inch sized floating C. Cornuta left in the tank the spring year before.

2024.05.10 16:05 TheDocsCrocs [Question] Advice requested on daily task optimization and planning for new work/living scenario

I recently signed a multi-year contract for a position several hours away. There is a definite end date and we currently live where we intend to be for the rest of our lives. My wife will be staying on the farm because the city I’m going to be working in is incredibly dangerous, doubly so for her due to the nature of her work. I plan to stay nights for my job when necessary, 20-23 days a month starting out, and driving home to stay the other 7-10 days each month. I’ll have several weeks worth of vacation and a 1-2 fewer shifts per month each year as I progress.
Now we are staring down several years where I won’t be here every morning and night to pull my share. I have about two more months before my start date and I finally have time to cut a few pages off our ‘to do’ list. For better or worse, our longest-term plans for the land are largely on hold for 3-4 years regardless of where I would have ended up in the interim. In that time our medium-term goals are to gradually scale up our small livestock and work on infrastructure as finances (and my limited time off) permit. For the short-term, I’ve so far been focusing on trying to simplify and/or minimize the day-to-day as much as possible for my wife going forward. Some examples:
  1. putting up permanent fences around our garden/berry patch/orchard/vineyard to better keep out wildlife (and less wild life like our dogs) and minimize the need to keep the grass around the perimeters as low as possible to prevent electrical fence shorts.
  2. deeply mulching our fruit trees, berry bushes, grape vines, and veggie garden to cut down on insane weed burden and progress towards no-till in the above areas.
  3. setting up a lawn care service to check in at least once a month to help keep things from getting out of control.
  4. getting large gravity feeders for our dogs that only need topping off once a week or so, and likewise setting up automatically refilling water troughs.
  5. reducing small indoor things that eat up time to once a day tasks by setting up things like a roomba-type vacuum for ground floor pet hair, dishwasher install where we previously washed all by hand, and self-scooping litter box (that works shockingly well for our multi-cat home!)
I’ve also addressed less physically tangible life things like annual medical/vision/dental appointments and vet visits for our animals, set up all our shared bills on autopay, legal things including advance directives and living wills and POAs, and worked on preventative maintenance for our vehicles and equipment. Now working to fix all of our broken down stuff (and in the process breaking something else every day LOL, so it goes) and planning to work more on clearing the overgrown brush around our house and taking care of other general clean-up tasks - metal to scrap yard, cardboard to recycling, selling or scrapping what I can’t get running, etc. We’ve caught up with nearby family and community friends, and have been going on date nights every other week. We also have a quick getaway trip planned for next month.
I guess my question is what else could/should I be doing to ease the transition as much as possible? My wife’s job has been really stressful lately on top of anticipation about this big change for our situation, and I just want to know what else you might be thinking about for short-term if you were in our shoes. In the medium-term we want to add more poultry to our existing setup, possibly a couple hogs, and bees over the next 2 years. Is there anything you’ve implemented on your homestead that made a noticeable difference in day-to-day workflow, or something you’ve been meaning to do that I may have overlooked? Appreciate any input!

I'm in middle east coast, United States, in a suburban-urban transition environment. The feeder I'm using is one of those clear plastic window feeders for my 3rd floor apartment.
The bird feed I already purchased has: Hulled Sunflower Seed, Safflower Seeds, Millet, Cracked Corn, Canary Grass Seed
But my feeder has a tray split in half, so I could totally get a higher quality feed for the other half of the tray and see what the birds prefer. Is there a particular blend you think would complement this one well?
We do have a pretty substantial invasive Starling population on this street, so something that would help the other birds but not subsidize the Starlings would be preferable probably?

2024.04.28 19:57 Business_Sense_2041 The beginning ?

Hello my new friends!
Small background:
I am quite new to Home assistant: literally 3weeks ago learned about it and running HAos since two weeks. The reason for this was a recent free smartware product I received trough our cities green goals: a Nedis smartplug with energy monitoring. Great idea but it annoyed me that i need yet again another app to control these things and also making scenes between apps is of course impossible. So here i am :)
But since i am noob and there is wayy too many options and possibilities, I would appreciatie ANY help/ideas you can provide.
These are the smart hardwares I have currently in house (very few but i expect a quick expand now im diving into Home Assistant )
1)Nedis (tuya) WifiP131FWT: smart plug with energy meter-> i managed to add the Tuya integration and as already stated on the internet the energy meter is not showing up. Is this somehow fixable in HAos? Otherwise i could try and flash it? I managed to open it, as seen in the pictures but i have never done flashing: which pins are what? Tasmota or ESPhome or other? I really would like to use the energy meter option.
2)Sonoff mini R2: switching lights: works through ewelink and the integration works fine: any comments on this? is it worth my time to change the system to Tasmota?
3)sonoff basicR2 v3 with a temperature probe, this stuff is running on Supla software. I am not a great fan of this, as the app is VERY limited in options and now i have another issue with it: it is not connecting to home assistant even though i used this manual https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/supla/ . as far as I understand it would be wiser to switch to Tasmota? or ESPhome?
4)Honeywell Round thermostat: integration works fine, but i wonder if this can be somehow flashed? There is an extra connection box in house to connect the Honeywell..preferably i would get rid of this(also energy saving?) but i have no idea where to start. I have a feeling this is not possible though....
5)Solar Edge inverter: integration works great and i dont think anything has to be done here...had to mention.
6)Samsung Smart Tv and soundbar... still figuring out how to make use of the remote entinity so if you have any tips...:)
7)Haier fridge..didnt try the 'unofficial' integration yet. Most important would be to switch to eco mode when on holiday or get alarms when temperature is too high?
8)Zedar A600 automatic cat feeder: it seems it could also work through the Tyua app? Didn't try it yet though.

Hello,
I am working on a project in UE5.3.2. The engine has been constantly crashing every 5-10 minutes. My Packaged game has the same problem while I play.
Some more info:
I am NOT using nanite and lumen.
My game runs at 144FPS at 45%CPU and 70%GPU usage (while playing the game) (I have a i7-7700K with RTX2070 SUPER and 32 GBRAM)
The crashes don't seem to happen during a certain action but rather random. For example, while flying trough my map, adding an actor, changing a blueprint or just playing my game (Packaged or in the editor)
The error messages differ from crash to crash, but the most common ones are 'Fatal Error' or 'LowLevelFatalError'. In the latter there's usually a path that points to some memory allocation issue.

Why are the camel and reindeer compatible?
I admit i’m no expert on either animal but i don’t think i’ve ever heard of reindeers and camels interacting- especially not enough to warrant an interspecies bonus. I’m 99% sure i don’t have any mods that should interfere with the game like this.
Is this offical? Maybe a glitch? I checked the wiki and it seems that camels don’t usually get an enrichment bonus with reindeer (idk if it’s offical or completely fan run, since i’ve been in fandoms where the wikis are incredibly accurate and trusted).
Unless this is completely accurate in which case i’m super interested to learn more about their relations so please give me some sources! Since googling on my own has given 0 relevant results.

2024.04.22 20:04 mrt1212Fumbbl Bandit Commune vs. Pirate Haven Thoughts (First 60-80 years)

So, since 3.9 I've been playing mostly Pirate Haven (Criminal Syndicate and Letters of Marque) with Xenophile, Authoritarian, Militaristic Ethics and Void Dweller Origin. Species type is Lithoid, traits are Iteroparity, Radiotropic, Nomadic, Unruly, Deviants.
As this is mostly a fluff/RP build put to the GA/No Scaling/Difficulty Modifiers On settings, without a lot of economic favors, I've had a ton of fun with it, it can work out pretty dang well doing standard MegaCorp things via diplomacy, but also can succeed without the standard plays with a little finesse and a whole lot of opportunism. However...I finally got curious about what the other Pirates are like and decided to try out the Bandit Commune build (Barbaric Despoilers and Warrior Culture) - Same Void Dweller Origin, same Lithoid species and traits, but with Authoritarian, Militaristic, Spiritual. Spiritual was mostly to hedge loss of Unity that I expected and more on that later.
And after a few playthroughs to relearn the game without Trade Value being a key economic driver I have some thoughts:
  1. Pacing has been similar with a few early skirmishes at most, and then things really taking off some time shortly after the first 65-75 years due to a confluence of income, pops working jobs, most mining/research stations being built and having a few output buffs, etc etc. In the case of Pirate Haven, Branch Offices growing up a little and having another building slot usually took this amount of time. Due to the difficulty settings and no economic favors from Civics or Traits, I've now experienced this in both where the empires really don't have the ability to throw weight around in the classic Military Rush way, but grow into it eventually with Merc Enclaves providing some 'ahead of its time' fleet power once two are up and running with Galactic Force Projection lifting the Fleet Cap way way up. I have mostly been sticking to a 'core sector gets habs, Gaias and Relics get settled, everything else is basically a research/mining station' regime
But in some essential ways, Bandit Commune is a little bit faster to the field because...
  1. It's a relief not having to manage diplomacy around your own branch offices and future wars. It's hard to even really 'do' Diplomacy with only 2 envoys, and the trick I found to not getting mobbed toot suite is to basically focus on one partner and do as much as you can in envoy work and gifting to get a defensive pact so that you have one solid partner. The ethics generally support being able to find one who aligns around the ethics in the neighborhood, especially Spiritualist providing a hook that Xenophile did with Pirate Haven.
It was a rough go of it the first few times, especially starting almost next to Fanatical Purifiers, but this was how I started finding some feet to keep the pressure off but also team up for an early skirmish via shared Mutual Rivalry. AI will often enough team up if this is true, but it isn't a lock. But I had to actually pick someone to focus on and solely focus on them rather than having a few irons in the fire like I did with the Pirate Havens. More Envoys really does mean more options.
Diplomacy is also a bit more limited for the Bandit Commune but not in ways that actually matter given your other options. You can still form a Federation via Diplomacy Tradition (and I do want to try out a Holy Covenant for realsies at some point, but I only wanted to see what was possible so not today), do Defensive Pacts which are elementally helpful to keep others at bay even if not on their way to a Federation. Commercial Pacts are also available which plug EC holes here and there...like it's just immigration which is forbidden and the Bandit Commune has covered in a couple ways with kidnapping pops and conquered planets basically turning everyone slave which makes for ezpz export.
  1. Spiritualist Unity Chasing > Trade Value Unity Chasing if both lack direct Civic/Trait buffs.
So I really really really like Trade Value and building around Trade Value because of Mercantile and Marketplace of Ideas, and if you squint hard enough, you can see the supposed magic of it with Trade Value jobs also usually providing amenities, such that you might not ever really need to build other CG consuming amenity jobs and can coast on Merchants and Clerks for the duration but...
It's been slightly better just building Temples, Monuments and Holo Theaters (which for Warrior Culture has the unique Duelist job, which is hella cool on its own and licks a couple other considerations through itself) and relying on some of the unique Spiritualist abilities to prime the Unity pump. That Temples can be paved on planets (so it's possible to have a Gaia be your Unity pump if it's low district but for City ones) The load on CGs is way higher and I've generally found that ECs and CGs are still tight before a breakthrough point with modifiers/expansion/pops finally delivering almost all but CGs in healthy amounts but...
There are a lot of ways to pump Unity as a Spiritualist over the Trade based Xenophile - In addition to Evolving Society Agenda which everyone has access to and provides 'waves' of bumped output, there's Higher Purpose which gives a small lump bump based on Priests (and makes it a good 2nd Agenda for time and place where you might take out the remainder on a tradition when it pops), and which you'll find yourself visit again later when other Agendas are on cooldown with any devotion to Statecraft and the effect that has on blowing through Agendas.
Then there's also an additional way to spend Minor Artifacts for a lump bump, so you can get one from Celebrate Diversity by default (and open to all but Xenophobes) and Proclaim Religious Revelation with any minor artifacts you've stacked up from your dig sites.
Finally, and this is particular to Void Dweller Origin, but Consecrated Worlds as an early AP is basically only low drag in the opportunity cost of the AP (which has stiff competition from Imperial Prerogative for #2 the way I have been playing it given the sprawl reduction, but I like unique things I haven't done in a long long time), otherwise, you're not spiting your growth opportunities at all - you're just providing a headline modifier boost to Unity that only gets better with time as you build up your Temples/Monuments/Holo Theaters and gets juiced from the Agendas. Not quite sure on the best of the best to Consecrate but rocking an additional 15% Unity per month for a 1500 Unity outlay for planets I wasn't likely to settle until way later...that's pretty cool and unique to the Spiritualist.
There's also a more stealthy benefit in play as well which is not being a MegaCorp means you're not as pinned by Sprawl so that the actual expansion to get your Unity ball rolling is not clipped by the hits to Sprawl that MegaCorps have to deal with. The phases and waves of Unity are still there (usually coalescing around Evolving Society being activated), where blasting through the first 3 traditions (or at least 1 or 2 with spreading for utility/effect among others) can be met in the first 40-50 years, then a small trough, then a 2nd wave where you can knock out your 4th or split between 2 for effect...
Basically the troughs are similar but the peaks can get way higher without pesky Sprawl soaking you for it. I really am reconsidering how much MegaCorps guide you to a way of playing that is often enough self contradicting and inefficient for basically cultivating a team to use your one unique gimmick. MegaCorps are such a mixed bag where you can do some really cool things but really guides towards team building any way you can and leaving a lot on the table if you don't or can't.
  1. Habitat specifications and Pop Micro is way more intense. Like I said above, it's been a long time since I tried out non Trade Value based empires and one of the biggest benefits of Trade Value based empires is relative pop micro docility. A little here and there to start with the feeder habs but with the Bandit Commune, I've had to engage in serious choreography until the breakthrough point.
The key example is pretty basic, but the signal to migrate a pop to a better job is whether they're a clerk or not. Okay, that sounds easy, but then everything comes down to providing a better available job (usually Technician, but depends on CGs over 1 and Colony Ship needs on the horizon), and this is where it gets tricky in having the right job available at the right time for the clerk to be resettled into, and the whole cascade of 'enough minerals' to build, 'maintenance' once built (especially if Artisan), and generally chasing your tail on having enough until you break through with tech/pops or hit a conquering/vassalizing windfall.
So basically I've been feeding my Capital to the point of clerk being the only available, then backfilling an Energy and Mineral Hab respectively, then building 2 feeders for them, until they're clerk only and integrating specialist job districts and buildings, then kind of replicating the process on down the line, and it works for building a low swing economy but it takes so much attention and checking in, with a few accidental tricks to noticing - mostly unemployment or lack of housing notifications to signal you gotta move a pop to a better place.
The Pirate Haven was coming from the opposite direction where Commercial Zones, Habitation Districts, Industrial Districts and then Mining Districts and Unity buildings usually rounded out the rest and the need to move pops for efficiency (or just even to stay above water) was so much less. I really appreciate how much that can be set and forget instead of being on the bleeding edge of making sure nobody is a clerk and all that involves.
  1. Tech is Tech, and there's not much to say here other than given my expansion regime and empire type, tech is never going to be something I'm gonna flourish at, but it's pretty much the same. Pirate Havens can pump this a bit more on the income side given the Illicit Research Lab but it's only a small bump given the flat output of each Illicit Research Lab (and there being better Branch Office Holdings at various points), the Sprawl hit from it, but I haven't noticed anything appreciably different on the income side with the combo of Research Labs/Research Stations/Anomoly+Enclave Bumps heads versus Research Labs/Research Stations/Illicit Research Labs/Anomoly+Enclave Bumps, other than the Sprawl hit.
Yes, the Sprawl hit again...I think this is definitely making the marginal difference even if it isn't super pronounced.
  1. Sprawl - I've mentioned it twice now and there's not much to say other than the Sprawl/Pop ratio is a lot better verging on 1.25-1.5:1 rather than 2:1 that I routinely 'enjoy' as a Pirate Haven. This is selecting Expansion Tradition in both test cases and no other modifiers from Civics. It's just plain better with the Bandit Commune and given the lack of Xenophile, Imperial Prerogative could make it even slimmer. There's no respective difference in being able to Federate or take on Vassals as it relates to bumps versus Sprawl, just the MegaCorp authority and how that actually plays. Criminal Syndicates feel especially impacted by this because Commerical Pacts, as annoying as they can be for the diplomatic work they involve and the Influence...
And once again, I am thinking that MegaCorps' gimmick isn't really that great on the whole because bar the potential EC income, you're diplomatically contorting towards team building by most factors, since the end around on Sprawl for MegaCorps especially is found in the team and what it does.
  1. Lack of Immunity from Criminal Syndicates sucks and the only saving grace is Righteous Officials exist in conjunction with Precinct Houses and other MegaCorps who will set up shop with the Commercial Pact. I got bitten by one on my 2nd playthrough and only by the grace of another MegaCorp neighbor was I mostly able to avoid it (okay, I also cheezed a one day NAP to break, for a Truce, after their first Branch Office to prevent more bleeding and the other MegaCorp took care of the rest of my Habs) but I kinda sorta get how awful Criminal Pops can be if you really don't ever have to deal with them on your own, and just have them sprung on you. They're mostly an annoyance more than anything else, but can be one hell of an annoyance if you you're caught flat footed and then do the bare minimum to nip it. Soaking 5-6 pops through EnforceCriminal jobs is nothing to sneeze at early on and you're least able to do anything about it.
  2. Influence stacks way up with the Bandit Commune. It's mostly just in Branch Office allocation alone with Pirate Havens that have you starving for more, but even so, it means you really do have enough to make your claims, even expensive ones in an offensive war, and not mind how much it's going to screw you out of economic foothold that Branch Offices provide once the conquering is done. I'd reckon you should never hit your limit with it if you're applying it wisely but in my 1st and 3rd playthroughs I had to burn some on Espionage of all things because there were no viable claims nor was I needing to add another Hab to the empire, and I had already tapped out on expanding via Starbase, and already hit my Merc Enclave Cap. Very weird to have too much Influence after never having enough.
  3. Barbaric Despoliers Starting with 1 Merc Enclave Cap and Kidnapping is a huge benefit to save on Lord of War (because of Warrior Culture providing the 2nd Merc Enclave) and Nihilistic Acquisition as APs, I can not overstate this enough. These were easily 2 must have picks for Pirate Haven from a Fluff/RP POV but having both basically integrated into the Barbaric Despoilers Civic itself allows adventures into anything else at all that is good and holy, and even Lord of War can figure as a 5th or 6th AP if you've accumulated 3 Merc Enclaves and want the 4th (3rd via Security Contractors being passed in the Galactic Senate) and wanna pump the Dividends a bit.
It shouldn't surprise that I might be having an easier and more powerful go of things after having to relearn Domestic Economy from the ground up, but I think a huge element of it is that the spec for Pirate Haven basically eats two starting Civics entirely to unlock the Pirate features at all, that Barbaric Despoilers does by itself from the get go, allowing an Economic Civic to be paired (or in my case a Unity-military Civic with Warrior Culture).
All tolled:
Bandit Commune seems like a better way to get your Pirate on unless you're specifically seeking to build a team and accentuate the positives of having a team via Fed/Branch Office, because there's less contortion and more efficiency at hand from the ground up starting with the primary Civic that allows Pirating in the first place. If I was advising someone on what kind of Pirating experience they wanted, I would definitely recommend the Bandit Commune for going it alone with options for Vassals/Fed than Pirate Haven, and if they wanted a more team building experience to go Pirate Haven instead.
And it kind of annoys me because going it alone as a Pirate Haven is entirely possible and hella fun in its own way, but it all comes back to MegaCorps inherently being about team building to a huge degree and that stink still enveloping Pirate Havens regardless of how much they thrash against it with a pinched nose. If there was anything I wish I could export from the Bandit Commune, it's in not having to doink around with diplomacy constraints from your own Branch Offices on foreign empires to fight offensive wars, mostly in the service of creating a Bizarro MegaCorp that plays kind of opposite the Vanilla kind in team building for big profits.

I'm just starting to learn the PLC and have almost no time programming a PLC and was hit was this assignment I was hoping someone could draw it out so I can try to follow along and get a grasp on it.
A farmer has contacted your employer and would like to implement a PLC system to automate the various functions on the farm. Your boss has assigned this project to you since you have experience with PLCs. The requirements of the system are as follows: 1. A “Start PB” (𝐼: 1/0) and a “Stop PB” (𝐼: 1/1) will be used to activate an alarm system. A “Green Light” (𝑂: 2/0) will be energized when the alarm system is activated. If the alarm system is activated and a “Toggle Switch” (𝐼: 1/2) is tripped, the alarm system will be triggered. When this happens an “Alarm Light” (𝑂: 2/1) will flash at a rate of 1 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑑 on/ 1 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑑 off until the “Reset Alarm PB” (𝐼: 1/3) is pressed at which time the “Alarm Light” will go off. If the “Alarm Light” has remained flashing for 30 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑑𝑠 without being reset an “Alarm Horn” (𝑂: 2/2) will sound. The “Alarm Light” and the “Alarm Horn” will remain on until the “Reset Alarm PB” is pressed. 2. A 24 ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑟 clock will be used to automatically trigger the following events at the given times: a. At 4 a.m. a “Feeder Motor” (𝑂: 2/3) will energize for 1 𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑢𝑡𝑒 to fill the feeder trough for the animals. After the time delay has expired the “Feeder Motor” will turn off. b. At 4 a.m. a “Water Pump” (𝑂: 2/4) will energize for 2 𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑢𝑡𝑒𝑠 to fill the watering system for the animals. After the time delay has expired the “Water Pump” will turn off. c. At 6 a.m. a “Diverter Gate” (𝑂: 2/5) will energize to allow the chicken eggs to roll onto a “Conveyor” (𝑂: 2/6). After the “Diverter Gate” has been energized for 20 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑑𝑠 the “Conveyor” will start in order to move the eggs into containers. While the conveyor is running, the eggs must be counted when the “Egg Sensor” (𝐼: 1/4) is actuated. The number of eggs each day must be displayed on a readout. After a 2 𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑢𝑡𝑒 delay has occurred the “Diverter Gate” and the “Conveyor” will turn off. The farmer can reset the counter every day by pressing the “Egg Count Reset PB” (𝐼: 1/5). d. At 3 a.m. and at 6 p.m. the cows must be milked. At these times, the “Milk Cow” (𝑂: 2/7) output should turn on for 1 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑑 and then off for 1 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑑. Every time the “Milk Cow” output turns on is considered 1 cycle. After 15 cycles, the current “Milk Cow” cycle will be considered complete.

An old boss of mine put a splice into a panel feeder cable for a 100A subpanel in a customer's house. He did this splice inside a trough, inside the wall, put the cover on, and buried it behind some wood blocking. When builder asked him what was there, knowing what he did (because he walked by him multiple times while he was doing it) my boss said, leering, "there's nothing there".

So in case you didn’t know, Phoenix has a wild lovebird population that’s been around since the 80’s (http://azfo.org/journal/Rosy-facedLovebird2011.html). It’s generally seen as not too much of an issue since they don’t really eat native plants or use the nesting sites most native birds here do and instead rely on the non-native plants many people have around their houses. We’ve had a family of lovebirds living in my parent’s Canary Island palm in the front yard since the late 80’s.
I recently came home for a couple of months to help out and bought a bird feeder for the backyard on a whim. The lovebirds are all over it twice a day when I refill. The issue is that I’ve been filling it with just sunflower seed and, after doing some back of the envelope math, I realized that each bird is probably eating around an ounce of that seed a day. Again, they seem to love it. I’m worried that seems like a big part of their diet and I might be hurting them by just offering sunflower seed? Is there something else I should be stocking it with? I’m sure they are supplementing with the diet they had prior to a month ago but I’m not sure how much.
It’s so much fun watching these guys every day and I’m getting to the point where I definitely recognize them and can see their personalities. I’m happy to keep feeding them, I just want to make sure I’m not doing something bad for their health. Any advice for seed here or something else I should be doing?

2024.03.09 16:33 TrainTrackRat Getting the brooder set up. On day 2 of lockdown.

This is a 20 gallon wide reptile terrarium i bought specifically for my quails to brood in. I am running the heater for 48 hours at least before any go in there. I also have regular heat lamps if I don’t like this one. I have a camera in here and two staring at my eggs constantly. The feeder trough I got them was way too big for them to reach so I need to replace that. Happy with how this looks. Can’t think about anything other than eggs for the next few days. Hope I didn’t kill them.
