Got him from a pre-opened pack at a toys store and the employee was shocked and tried to hide the card
I wanted to check a store for some packs and saw some cards in two sleeves (6 in each) glued together laying around in a open and half empty inklings box.
Of course I was curious and asked the employee to let me see what that product is or if that even is for sale. Turns out it’s a pre-opened pack for 5,99€ (usual price for boosters in Germany) to let customers see what cards are in that set.
When I asked him to show me the cards he started doing so but insisted on not letting me do it by myself. But not in a mean way or something. I mean it is understandable that he wants to do it.
The pack had a uncommon foil on one side and the stitch rare on the other side as you can see above. So originally I was just curious about the second rare slot.
When he started spreading the cards out I suddenly noticed the legendary symbol and how he tried to skip that card. Not that I totally behaved like I have 0 idea about the game (I always to for strategic purposes).
Seemed like he didn’t know that this Robin Hood was in there and he tried to hide him, lol.
I didn’t react at all but just asked about the golden symbol. When he showed me the card I also just said cool without showing any signs of excitement or sudden change in expression.
He proceeded to to show me all the cards one by one with breaks of up to 5 seconds between it. Especially when he showed me the commons he even spoke out the names and let me see them for over 5 seconds sometimes.
It was really strange for me but I just played along. He really wanted to distract me from that Robin Hood I guess.
I kindly told Him that I’ll take that pack and he was (even though I’m sure that he was a bit disappointed) very friendly and immediately handed me the pack.
TL:DR I saw an already opened pack at a toys store and when I asked to see the cards inside, there was a Robin Hood inside, which the employee didn’t know about and tried to hide it from me.

2024.05.14 22:32 Individual_King_254 She heavily implied she doesnt like me, but i think she is lying (i may or may not be delusional)

(I recommend reading my other post, to see all the signs i have picked up over the last few months https://www.reddit.com/Crushes/s/jAWrMretPO)
So wednesday last week i finally build up the courage to ask my crush out, and while she said yes, she also invited our three friends. It wasnt a question like “is it fine if i invite our friends?” It was more like “im inviting our friends”. Two of them said yes and on friday the four of us went to the movies and had a good time. Nothing really happend there. Then earlier today she confronted me about why i wrote to her and not just our whole friendgroup. Of course i denied and said sometimes i just write to a specific person instead of the groupchat to not disturb everybody else (which is semi-true). She then asked me if i have feeling for her and i said no. While i am probably a terrible liar, it was enough of an answer as she said “okay… good”. At first i was panicking as she basically said she doesnt like me back but the way she said it, makes me kinda confused. First up, she made sure none of our friends were nearby, just in case i guess, but also to make sure it was the least unfcomfortable as possible. Second, when she said “good” she didnt show a lot of emotions. She didnt seem line “thank god he doesnt like me” or anything like that. She also stared at the ground when she said it. Also the “good” came in kinda late, like a couple of seconds later, so it felt kinda forced/unnatural. Also if you remember from the other post, how her friend called me over her phone? Earlier when we were hanging out she jokingly said something along the lines of “all you need is sitting right next to you” and she didnt really have a reaction, which i definitly would expect, especially from her, as it was very uncharacteristic. So while she heavly implied she doesnt like me, i feel like she is lying. What do you think? And yes im am absolutly delusional and she probably doesnt like me. Thank you for your time.

2024.05.14 22:32 we_like_this_stock [Suggestion] Alienware Aurora R16 with i7-14700F RTX 4070Ti SUPER - $1,620 - Is this potentially a good deal?

Recently found this on dell's official website, currently selling for $1,799, if factor in the 10% sign up discount it would be around $1620.
Specs:
On paper the discount isn't much (just $200 off), but when compared to other configurations that have higher discounts, I still find this deal more valuable.
I don't really have to go with Alienware, it's just that due to space contraints I would much prefer a small factor pc. I could build one on my own, but it seems like I won't be saving too much money.
Please let me know what you guys think. Thank you in advance for the help!

2024.05.14 22:30 OhWowMuchFunYouGuys This safest win under $5 with full breakdown why. $NOK

This safest win under $5 with full breakdown why. $NOK
I’m gonna use a word that is rare around these parts so please brace yourselves. Long term, penny stock with dividend. Today was a crazy day with FFIE, GME, AMC and KULR has ER tomorrow. So many stocks up 25%+ the memes and rides were real like it was 2020 for a minute. I congratulate all who won and had fun doing so. I mourn for those who lost lol. I have a proposition for the winners and an opportunity for the losers.
I have tried to find the perfect combination of attributes in a pennystock and it’s nearly impossible. You can get runners and pumps but nothing usually flashing green lights at all stops. I think I may have found something though. It’s not as pushed and nearly ever mentioned but it’s real and it’s all good. I believe it to be the safest investment under $5. It may not be the biggest runner or crazy yolo, but it’s the safest to make money imho.
So let’s start here ….
Nokia is a major player in the telecommunications industry, specializing in 5G networks, IoT solutions, and cloud services. The company continues to innovate, contributing significantly to global communications technology advancements.
Well that’s nice but who cares?? I agree let’s continue.
Nokia Corporation has announced the purchase of 376,363 of its own shares at an average price of €3.49 on May 13, 2024, as part of its €600 million multi-tranche share buyback program. The program, which began on March 20, 2024, aims to return value to shareholders
Okay that’s cool but what’s else?
O2 Telefonica in Germany and Nokia announced the deployment of 5G standalone core software on Amazon Web Services (). The rollout provides O2 Telefonica with ultra-low latency to deliver advanced 5G services, like extended reality and network slicing, which require instant availability and greater bandwidth capacity.
Seems fair but what about the numbers? Well those are even better.
Fair value $6
Dividend 2.61%
P/E ratio 23.5
Smashed through 200 day MA and reset the support.
Beat last earnings and will absolutely do so again in August.
If that isn’t enough to make you believe in a pennystock idk what you buy honestly. I think this is what a true value investment looks like. The P/E ratio is fair, the chart is ripping, the company just did a share buyback, brand new rollout plans with Amazon, was over $4 today with zero push and yet….the volume was double. This goes straight to $5+ with any love and stays there.
I don’t think you should yolo or anything. I believe if everyone put 15% of your portfolio here it would be the safest thing you own and pay long term on value and dividends. I know that’s not sexy but that’s security and I rather be safe than fucked.
I hope you win on whatever else you play and I hope you join me with a safety net in $NOK. It’s going to $5+, bank that shit.

2024.05.14 22:29 blackberrycow88_ I [16f] have a crush on a guy [17m] who is Mormon. I am currently not religious. Any advice or guidance for me?

I just want to note that we are 16 and 17 so please be nice. So I have a crush on this guy, and I met him where I work. We immediately hit it off and had a lot of things in common and I’ll note that I did think he was cute before we talked for the first time too. We were immediately very sassy with each other and he made me smile a lot. The other work friends around our age definitely felt any chemistry I guess and one even went to him and said “ooohhh I can feel the love in the room” when I was cleaning somewhere. He’s very sweet and funny and in the most respectful way possible, doesn’t seem Mormon at all. As one does when they have a crush, I looked up if he had a facebook or instagram or something and he didn’t, but I found his dads facebook and kinda sorta stalked it a little, and I saw his family is Mormon. I have quite the developing crush on him and we make eye contact and always try to talk to each other at work and I kinda suspect that he likes me a little too but obviously I don’t wanna assume things. I grew up Christian, and my parents even helped start a new church, but later learned that they were atheist and left. I was probably like 8. The feelings about religion my parents have are kind of toxic about it so idk how I feel about it, but even though I’ve picked up on some of those feelings, I never judge people for their religion. I don’t identify with anything because I don’t know what I believe and it’s a very confusing subject for me. But idk obviously as I said he doesn’t seem very religious himself, but the fact that his family and probably him are Mormon makes me unsure what to do. I’ve heard some things about Mormons not being allowed to date people that are not members and I live in a heavily populated Mormon area. What advice would you have? He’s really cute and I don’t like throwing away connections like that. Has anyone else dated/serious relationship/married a Mormon while not being religious yourself or as a Mormon been allowed to date someone that is not a member? Thank you 💕💕 P.S. I do not know a lot about the Mormon church and their rules, although I have studied some in the past. I say everything in the utmost respect!

How To Use GPS Data To Fight Speeding Tickets

Have you ever felt annoyed after seeing those flashing blue lights in your rearview mirror? We all admire and respect the essential role police officers play in our society. Their daily sacrifices to maintain our safety are truly commendable. Yet, a twinge of frustration often accompanies traffic citations, whether for speeding or illegal turns. With officers using sophisticated tech like radar guns to track vehicle speed, it may seem like there's no defense. But did you know that the same kind of technology can help you contest traffic citations? Many motorists are now leveraging GPS navigation and tracking systems to fight tickets, whether through a trial by declaration or a court trial. This trend is turning the tables in the courtroom, transforming the way we approach traffic violations. In this article, we will discuss how to use GPS data to fight speeding tickets!

When GPS Misguides You: Are Police Sympathetic to Tech Errors?

Ever made a wrong turn because your GPS told you to? You're not alone. Many motorists find themselves in this predicament, pulled over for moving violations, often claiming, "My GPS made me do it". Relying heavily on GPS navigation, either through portable units or smartphone apps like Google Maps or iMaps, is an everyday routine for many. But how reliable are these systems?
Sadly, even highly-rated apps can lead you astray. Remember when iMaps notoriously directed drivers to the wrong locations or even one-way streets? Such mistakes have happened more times than you might imagine. But what happens when these inaccuracies cause you to make an illegal turn? Who bears the blame?
Even when your trusted app fumbles, you, as the motorist, carry the responsibility for the final decision. Sounds unfair, right? Yet, that's how it stands. Yes, police may sympathize with the occasional GPS-induced mishap, but accountability doesn't shift. At the end of the day, it's the driver who's held responsible.
Ever wonder what police officers think of these GPS blunders? One anonymous officer shared, "As drivers, we've all got a myriad of excuses. But the bottom line is, the person behind the wheel is accountable. Remember, it's not the smartphone or GPS that holds the driver's license."
Want to avoid a ticket? It's not about passing the blame but accepting accountability. Believe it or not, officers tend to be more lenient towards drivers who own up to their mistakes rather than blaming their GPS or tracking device. Interesting, isn't it?

How To Prove To Police You Weren't Speeding

Do you realize how commonplace GPS tracking devices are in today's vehicles? More than ever, they're becoming a staple in both company and personal cars. These devices aren't just ornamental; they play a crucial role in improving vehicle theft protection and driver safety. Additionally, they're an attractive bonus for those eyeing an auto insurance discount.
But have you ever thought of using your GPS device to contest a speeding ticket? More and more drivers are doing just that. Why? Because these trackers do more than just provide location data. They record your speed, location, and journey duration - all in real time and with a stunning accuracy that refreshes every single second!
Impressed? There's more. You'd be surprised to learn that these devices may even outperform the traditional radar gun held by a police officer. Calibration issues, interference from highway overpasses, or the officer's hiding spot could all affect the radar gun's accuracy. Meanwhile, your GPS tracker's data remains precise and reliable. Who knew GPS technology could be your unexpected ally in a speeding dispute?

5 Ways To Use GPS Tracking To Fight A Speeding Ticket

Getting a speeding ticket absolutely sucks. But you know what's worse? Getting a ticket when you weren't actually driving over the posted speed limit. Thankfully, GPS tracking can help. In this section, we will discover some innovative ways your tracking device can help fight your corner. Below are 5 ways your GPS system can help with contesting a speeding violation.
  1. Proof of Speed: Your GPS device diligently records your speed at every moment of your journey. This detailed log can provide concrete evidence of your speed at the exact time the alleged violation took place.
  2. Route Verification: Were you on a different road when the incident occurred? Your GPS tracker traces your route with precision. Its data could demonstrate you were elsewhere when the offense allegedly happened.
  3. Time-Stamped Data: All GPS data is time-stamped, making it easy to correlate your location, speed, and the time of the alleged violation. This accurate chronology could prove essential in disputing a ticket.
  4. Calibration Check: In contrast to a police officer's radar gun, which could suffer from calibration issues, your GPS device provides a more accurate and consistent measure of speed. Use this precision to challenge the reliability of the speed detected by the radar gun.
  5. Data Log Persistence: Most GPS car trackers keep a history of their data. This historical log can help to establish a pattern of safe driving, potentially increasing your credibility in the courtroom.
By integrating these strategies, your GPS device can become a powerful tool in your defense against a speeding ticket

FAQs

Can GPS Tracking Data Be Used As Evidence In A Traffic Court Hearing?

Yes, GPS tracking data can be used as evidence in a traffic court hearing. If you have a GPS tracking device installed in your vehicle or have a GPS-enabled smartphone, the data collected by these devices can be used to prove your innocence or cast doubt on the accusations against you. However, it's important to note that the admissibility of GPS evidence may vary depending on the jurisdiction and specific circumstances of the case.

How Can GPS Tracking Data Help In Disputing A Traffic Ticket?

GPS tracking data can help in disputing a traffic ticket by providing a record of your vehicle's location and speed at the time of the alleged violation. This data can be used to prove that you were not in the location where the violation supposedly occurred or that you were not driving at the speed that you were accused of. Additionally, GPS data can also provide information about traffic patterns and road conditions that may have contributed to the violation.

What Types Of Traffic Violations Can GPS Data Be Used To Dispute?

GPS tracking data can be used to dispute a variety of traffic violations, including speeding tickets, red light violations, and stop sign violations. GPS data can also be used to dispute accusations of reckless driving, DUI, and other serious traffic offenses. How To Use GPS Data To Fight Speeding Tickets

2024.05.14 22:29 ZevNyx The cost of SotO vs previous Expansions

I see a lot of people say things like living world used to be free and now it’s expensive cause it’s bundled with the expansion and is small. Or various other arguments about the cost and quality of SotO vs other expansions, HoT & PoF in particular. I thought it would be interesting to go back and look at the numbers. Sometimes I participate in arguments to and I really should be saying accurate things myself.
When living world first came out, the base game was buy to play @ $60. And you had to own the game to access it. LWS1 never cost anything but each release was somewhere between as small as pressing f on some signs for refugees or as big as the Tower of Nightmares and then literally disappeared from the game 3 weeks later. An attempt to get us to log in from extreme FOMO.
LWS2 consists of 8 content drops that cost 200 gems, 160 gems each if bought bundled for $16. Required owning the base game. ANet made a decision at the time that IF you login during the correct time period per episode that you can have it for free in the hopes they’d make up for the difference in gem sales but 200 gems has always been the “box price” for these episodes.
HoT cost $50 at release and consisted of the expansion drop plus 6 content drops (LWS3, which cost 160 gems each if you buy it all as a bundle. So LWS3 cost $12.
PoF cost $30 at release and consisted of the expansion drop plus 6 content drops (LWS4, which again cost $12 unless you met the same criteria that was supposed to get you to spend more in the gem store.
IBS, an attempt to quit having to make expansions, was 6 content drops for $12 or free if you again met the free-ness criteria that was meant to get you to drop money in the gem store. It still requires you to own PoF though so in order to play it you had to buy PoF.
EoD cost $30 and consisted of the expansion drop andof 2 small content drops (Gyala Delves) or 7 if you consider the LWS1 re-release to be content which many in the community don’t, but at best it’s double dipping.
SotO costs $25 and consists of the expansion drop plus 3 small content drops which you receive as part of the expansion regardless of when you buy it or whether you log in during a certain period of time.
I see the old model as a business putting a sign on the door saying “free stuff” to get you in the door to buy other more expensive things and then leaving the “free stuff” sign up in the door forever after and saying “whoops forgot to take the sign down that’ll be $5 please”. Whereas the “free stuff” being advertised now is worth less and everything else has gone up in price but at least the sign isn’t a lie later on.
This is how businesses like ANet and NCSoft view things.
GW2 base game in the LWS1 era, $60 with FOMO dialed up to 11 to try to push gem sales.
GW2 base game in the LWS2 era, $76 with LWS2, discounted to $60 if you participate in the FOMO to push gem sales.
HoT, $62 with LWS2, discounted to $50 if you participate in the FOMO to push gem sales.
PoF, $54 with LWS4 & IBS, discounted to $30 if you participated in 3 years of FOMO to push gem sales.
EoD, $30 as is, no living world FOMO cause we have to panic and re-release LWS1 so the Steam release doesn’t flop and the player base will revolt if we attach gems to it. And we threw Gyala Delves in there to wrap up EoD in a bow so we can move to the new model.
Soto, $25 as is, with Wizard Vault seasons, constant in game bonus events, and 3 content patches included in the box price to create a constant low level FOMO to drive gem sales.
Additional sales as needed get new people to buy old “free” content and skins.
Personally, I think the cost of the content is the most honest it’s ever been.
I’m fine with being cynical here, and have been cynical to ANets reason for previous and current business models here. SotO is definitely designed to create more consistent profit for the company while managing a smaller workforce.
If we spread the cost of content out over time, the game cost $170 if you participated in 100 percent of the FOMO so $15.50 per year (including some extreme content droughts.) Compared to $25 per year that certainly can seem like a 61% cost increase for what has certainly been a mediocre story in Inner Nayos so far.
Even jf you didn’t participate in the FOMO it cost $222 over the years, so $20.20 per year, less if you caught sales or buy the complete collection today. So a 24% cost increase.
If we compare per expansion though, SotO is less than half the bundled price of the core, HoT, or PoF eras individually and around 15% cheaper than EoD.
For people who primarily care about story and new maps, I get it. For story and map content alone, if this is going to be the quality going forward over multiple annual expansions it’s a disappointment that costs more over time.
I would argue that the increased game balance frequency, consistent bonus events, numerous QoL improvements, increased attention to WvW and PvP (something is more than nothing), increased communication, actual bug fixes for old content, and improved frequency of new open world and instanced content (hopefully consistency of quality improves there too) is worth the dollars, despite the story.
I’d really like a better story. ANet please learn things from Inner Nayos and Gyala Delves in particular. Those adorable Kryptis Quaggans should probably be trying to eat my face, not apples, and a battle to fight through Eparch’s queens forces should make me break a sweat. If neither Peitha or Isgarren betray me next week I’ll probably quit the game for a month.

2024.05.14 22:28 Active-Classic5108 Looking for advice

Long story long: We have had a guy do some plumbing work in both our commercial and residential spaces, and HVAC work in our commercial space - originally from a referral by a friend. The guy has a business name appropriately HVAC/Mechanical, an LLC, and has done good work at reasonable prices, and communicated well historically. We had a heat wave in maybe February and the AC in the commercial space didn't cool. He was scheduled for a Spring maintenance anyway, so he checked it out. There was a considerable repair needed, and the incumbent system was approximately 20 years old. The repair was going to be close to $2k including labor, so we began to discuss replacement as an alternative. He gave me a price in the $9k range for 2.5ton heatpump. This is a 3-story building, so a chunk of that was a crane fee. I spoke with another property owner in the building and we negotiated to coordinate the same HVAC guy installing two new units and splitting the $2k crane fee. I specifically asked the HVAC guy if he could handle a job this big, and he assured me that he had done hundreds of these. He requested payment in full and said he could usually do the installation 2-3 days after payment. We both paid him 3/21, and he scheduled the installation the following week. You can tell where this is going - he's still not done - we're into the 80's weather-wise, and have had to refund rental fees to our tenant because no AC and this is a foid-prep space that needs temperature control. His communications have become poor to unresponsive. I know now, that I never should have paid him in-full in advance. I trusted him. Along the way he has had excuse after excuse: crane availability issues, injuries resulting in not being cleared to work, etc. Now - the equipment is all installed and working in the other guy's place but not ours. He says our unit has a bad defrost zone board. On a brand new Goodman unit. Sure.... Unfortunately, I have finally lost all confidence in his words. I now feel as though he has been lying to me all along, and I don't trust him anymore.
I have called another local HVAC company that does our residence and asked them to provide an assessment after this repair is completed and the system is working. They looked up the unit by serial number, and confirmed that they can provide warranty repair, but they say that the unit has a 5- year warranty and the original guy said 10-years. They also said there's no permit pulled on the job, and that it is required in this jurisdiction.
So - where do I go from here? Am I liable for a code violation as the property owner? What do the esteemed members of the HVAC community recommend I do?
I'm totally willing to lose his 1-year labor warranty, but is the equipment under a 5-year or a 10-year warranty?

Also included is a Rodent Inspection, Visual Summary with Measured Floor Plans, and a Centriq Report.
Infrared Scan - Using the most technologically advanced tools available allows us to detect moisture in wet areas of the home (i.e. kitchens and bathrooms and around windows and doors) that is invisible to the human eye. The use of these tools also enables us to locate areas throughout the home or structure that have overheating or malfunctioning electrical components (i.e. breakers and electrical panels). This work can make a critical difference during the home inspection process.
Centriq Report - During your inspection, we will capture the information of up to five major home appliances and provide you with a computerized report on any safety recalls for those appliances using the Centriq app. Centriq is a home inventory and maintenance platform designed to monitor for appliance recalls and track user manuals, parts, and support videos for your home. During the inspection, the inspector will add appliances and systems from the home into the Centriq app, and you will receive a Centriq recall report via e-mail within 48 hours. You will also have the option of adding items to the app in the future.
Rodent Inspection - In addition to our high quality, comprehensive home inspection which will highlight past or present infestation, we will also investigate and report on conditions in the home that are conducive to rodent activity so that you may be pre-emptive in the containment and control of these potential issues before a problem occurs. This includes checking for points of entry and signs of nesting, especially in the crawlspace of the home.
PTP360 - During our inspection, we will construct an interactive virtual tour that will provide you with 360° visuals of your future home. It will include thumbnails with comments and photos from your inspection report in relation to their location within the home. This feature also includes measured floor plans to aid you in any future projects or home planning.
Lifetime Maintenance Advisory Service - Following our inspection, and your purchase of the home, we will provide advice and answer your questions on home maintenance, the inspection report, and other home-related topics for as long as you own the home. Feel free to give us a call anytime! We are happy to continue our service to you.
Enhanced Customer Service Commitment - Our aim is to provide you with quality reporting and excellent customer care. Our office staff are available to direct your questions and concerns should the occasion arise, and our inspectors have a wealth of knowledge and expertise to assist you with all of your inspection needs. If you are not satisfied with our service, we will pay another inspection company of your choice to inspect your home again up to the value of your investment with our company.
*During each of our inspections, we do a general check for Wood Destroying Organisms (i.e. carpenter ants, termites, and wood-boring beetles) as well as evidence of dry rot. We do not, however, list the specific insects observed without the purchase of a WDO report. This is due to Oregon's home inspection laws regarding the reporting of Pest & Dry Rot information, sometimes required by lenders. If you do not need your report to specifically state which insects are or are not observed at the time of inspection, you may not need to add the WDO report to your inspection package. Please check with your loan officer before considering this add-on option and let us know if we can provide you with any further clarification.
The cost of this package is $ 742.35 You will also receive a 15% discount on any Added Service options.

The Prestige Package

Healthy Home Package - Houses safeguard the lives of the people who live in them. Increasingly so, it is known that poor air quality, including allergens, can pose potential health risks if not detected and addressed. Indeed, if someone in your home suffers from allergies, asthma, chronic sinus issues, or other breathing disorders, poor air quality becomes critical to their love and enjoyment of the home. In addition, mold can eventually cause structural damage to your home.

2024.05.14 22:27 KoalaMan-007 Bass clarinet was the most popular today at open house

I work as a woodwind teacher and we had an open house tonight and the kids could try the instruments.
Here are some statistics over what instruments they chose first. Many of them tried several instruments and hopefully some of them will sign up to learn.
Bassoon: 2 Soprano saxophone (curved): 6 Alto saxophone: 4 Tenor saxophone: 2 Baritone saxophone: 3 Clarinet Eb: 7 Clarinet Bb: 4 Bass clarinet: 8
This is the first time that the bass clarinet has so much success, and there is no special reason to explain it. Just some cool info to share!

I found my old gpd win I bought a couple of years ago and it's still working (even after I dropped it lol) I want to reset it but I don't remember the password, is there any way I can reset it without being able to sign in?

2024.05.14 22:27 Notteham94 The "no parking/no standing" signs by the airport

Is it me, or is the air show getting way stingier with less show?
First off, it prints out its signs on office paper and makes them legible only to people parked immediately against them. Secondly, these signs hadn't existed in years prior—including years when there wasn't as much development to the north of the airport and the show still got the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds.
Finally, what's really the point? You can park on just about any side street within a two-mile radius and get a good view of the show. Every school parking lot near the airport has an excellent view of the activity. Honestly, enough people just pull off on the tractor pads along Jackson School north that nobody's going to fight you for space near Jones Farm.
The air show and its local supporters will tell you it's fine, but every time McMinnville gets a bigger version of it or Hillsboro's is reduced to like 20 prop planes and the National Guard jets, I'm starting to think the event brings it on itself. This is a city of 110,000 people now and the fields above the airport are mostly wired grey boxes of servers. I used to think of this as a charming little local event, but anymore I understand the chorus of people who just complain about the noise or leave town for the weekend.

2024.05.14 22:25 Budget-Soup-6887 Music in the car

What’s everyone play for music in the car? The kids are 3, 5.5, 8. The oldest doesn’t want to listen to just Disney music. The middle child could go either way. Youngest is starting to develop an opinion, but still pretty easy to persuade.
For awhile we were listening to a playlist on Apple Music called “cool family” it’s basically just clean versions of todays music. This was fine and dandy, but now the older 2 are really starting to listen to the music and ask what things mean. Even clean music is still so inappropriate half the time! It was fine for background noise, but now that we actively listen I don’t love it.
We’ve been listening to the radio 95% of the time because there’s no service around their school so my phone doesn’t work for music anyways. Which again is fine, majority of the time. Especially since we’re usually in the car during more music less talk show time. But occasionally there’s a song or a commercial that I’m like oof definitely not great.
With my last NF MB didn’t care in the slightest what they listened to. She allowed the kids to swear and she listened to whatever she wanted in front of them. They also rarely actually listened to what was on. While current NF isn’t super strict (the older 2 know all the words to Low by FLO Rida) they do prefer that the music is clean and the adult references subtle.

2024.05.14 22:24 Dismal_Foot_1356 custom neck joint

so im gonna build a guitar, and i have an idea for a cool neck joint, it makes routing, assembly, and measurements so much better if done right, im thinking about a hybrid between a set neck and neck through, where the area where the pups and bridge go are all routed out, because thats the neck joint, the neck is basically a neck through joint in the sense that the neck itself goes into the body, but its also a set neck in the sense that the neck joint is glued in place, giving us a shape where the "heel" of the neck is about 7" wide 12" long and 3/4" deep, its like the guitar itself is the guitar neck, but the body is simply a shell with knobs. im hoping this design can also improve tone since all the vibrations are happening on the same piece of wood, and itll be easier to route because you simply have more room to work. a good way a describe the idea is this: the neck is shaped like a 3/4" thick cigar box guitar, and a space in the guitar body is routed out so the neck sits inside. does this make sense? chat gpt says its a great idea, but chat gpt isnt a real human being, so i need y'alls opinions. thanks!

2024.05.14 22:23 Heroinesheath 22 a million

Someone either attempted to harm me or, perhaps, was trying to see if causing me harm would be possible. God has made the world aware of His presence today.
“Pay her back as she herself has paid back others, and repay her double for her deeds; mix a double portion for her in the cup she mixed.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭18:6‬ ‭
I think something like 911 may happen because America has refused to repent.
On August 35, 2001 Aaliyah Dana Haughton was traveling to the Bahamas. He plane crashed and she died.
She was age 22.
On that same day, a different young woman was traveling to the Bahamas. The plane she was on experienced major turbulence. When they arrived, they were informed that Ms. Haughton died.
The different young woman was age 22.
911 happened 17 days after.
Lucifer may be have been the prime musician in heaven and control the music industry, yet God is in control and uses everything. God is able to feature His message everywhere. He is able to feature His message in secular and non-secular music.
This is about time. God reveals His perfect will at the perfect time.
“I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭2:21‬ ‭
I used the song, 22 a million, as a creative several years ago. Today, I think I understand the meaning.
Many people believe 911 was something the government knew about. I have said before that I believe 911 was when the "war in heaven started" and may have been a signal the anti-christ forces used for a sign that we were entering the time of revelation.
God uses everything though, so even though the anti-Christ forces may have planned it, God used it for His will.
America's involvement in 911 would be the "cup she mixed" from the verse above.
I have said too, that even though the government may been involved in the planning of 911, God used it for a consequence of what happened on August 25, 2001.
I think the different person that lived, is still living, may have been the target.
Another person died and 911 happened.
22 is double and the age of both women. A double portion would be the increase of consequence for
1) attempting to harm the second person
2) increase of consequence for refusing to repent
Look at the original plan for the Twin tower complex and then look at it today. You will see the signs of what has been prophesied before and understand that there is a connection to a global sex trafficking network.
The "world trade center" is global and the way that America committed sexual immorality with earth's Kings.
I have thought Babylon could be the church, but 911 seems to point to the United States being Babylon.
This point between the church + the United States may mean that the United States and the Christian Nationalist Church, and Catholic church are all synonymous because the financial and government Babylon system is so deeply connected.
God bless His saints and servants.
I hope America repents so something much more terrible than 911 won't happen.
22 a million

2024.05.14 22:23 TrickConcentrate3987 Selling 5% equity of 33.3% in million dollar house

In a sticky situation. My grandfather recently passed away, leaving his fully paid off home in Walnut Creek California, divided between myself (25year male), my older sister (29years) who is married and just had a son, and my mother, who is remarried and living in a different state. We each were left 33.33% equity.
On Redfin the estimate value of the property is about $950,000.
This past month.. I had saved the rent $ due to my landlord but lost it all. Long story short I gambled away this money online, and being faced with eviction, I decided to offer my sister 5% of my 33.33% equity in return for $2000 Zelle. ( I know ridiculous but it truly was the only viable option).
Before sending the $2000, my sister and her husband wanted to draft a document for us all to sign making it “official” that I was giving my 5% equity in return for $2000. But I needed to pay my rent to avoid eviction that same day, so my father came into the picture and sent me the $2000, with the promise of my sister sending him that money back straight to him. So really if I somehow came up with 2k and paid my dad back today, my sister has no right to be upset with me not gifting her 5% equity at such a LOW price. Not only is that equity worth much more than 2k, but I’d effectively be giving her and her husband full power over my mom & I with the majority % she would now have.
My questions: How much is 5% equity truly worth at this moment? And how much will it be worth down the road? Am I in the wrong to not sign the document when I gave them an offer and they accepted it? My sister when we spoke this morning was irritated I hadn’t signed the document yet, and was even insinuating how upset her and her husband would be if I didn’t proceed with our original verbal agreement. My father would not be happy if he didn’t receive the 2k as quickly as he thought but I’m fairly positive we could worth something out for me to repay him. My father has my back, I know this for a fact.
One last idea which I don’t hate, due to my current poor financial state, ( I have some credit card debt and student loans) Is to offer my sister 5.33 % for a significantly higher amount such as $6,000? This is still a steal of a deal for her.. but like I said I could really use the extra money.
Please refrain from comments about the gambling part of this story.. I know this is the critical mistake i made to land me in this situation.. but i have learned my lesson the hard way and will NOT go down that road again.

2024.05.14 22:22 Agitated-Error-6498 Is my cat dying or just rude? Please help!

Background: I have two cats, one M10 and another F13. The girl has had a variety of intestinal issues through her life, starting when she ate an earbud that blocked her intensities and had to be surgically removed. We also had a long struggle with many vet trips when she chewed off lots of fur. The vets said it was fleas, but it ended up being stomach issues. We got her on new food, and the issue resolved instantly.
Recently, the girl has been pooping on the new basement carpet. She still pees in her litter box, but poos are always a room away on the carpet. This has been going on for months. We have switched foods around, gotten new litter boxes, new litter, cleaned the whole litter box area, scooped daily, and nothing is changing. It is not sustainable to keep living like this with her. We want her to be healthy and this is not it. I know that cats can show age and pain in strange ways, so is this a sign that she’s suffering and old? She seems normal otherwise. Any advice is appreciated!

2024.05.14 22:21 An0nym355 So much discourse on here has been about perplexing complaints, disappointment and weird nitpicks … is that what film discussion has devolved into? Can we discuss the good that is actually there onscreen, cool things and moments and potential of the movie …

So much discourse on here has been about perplexing complaints, disappointment and weird nitpicks … is that what film discussion has devolved into? Can we discuss the good that is actually there onscreen, cool things and moments and potential of the movie …
This is a bit of a summary of comments I’ve made on others repetitive posts, but, truly people’s reactions to this movie are so odd.
This is a solid franchise installment. It is not enslaved to the previous installments. It explores new characters, new scenarios, new concepts, and a new adventure tone. It is well made and directed, with good characters and story.
I saw one comment dismiss this movie as not good and “just CG” and treat it like a transformers movie? Ridiculous. Once the complainers and nit pickers move on from whatever dark gritty depressing Caesar sequel was in their mind, (I love those three, but they can’t and shouldn’t all be the same) and disentangle what they expected or imagined with whats actually there to enjoy onscreen, I hope they don’t dismiss something as quality as this so quickly.
Most franchise installments are garbage, this is actually good, and does what a table reset sequel should do, and people are like “whhhaaaa no Caesar”, “whaaa why isn’t Proximus Grand Admiral Thrawn”, “whaaaa why isn’t Noa Rambo?”… “I am an expert on rust and oxidation in worlds of talking apes” …
I really enjoyed it. Do I think it’s as transcendent or as quality as Dawn? No. But I also don’t need or expect every installment in a franchise to top the last or be some iteration of just like the last or to get more and more serious and dark. Quite the contrary, I was glad this had a whole different tone than War, which while I respect its incredible filmmaking, was pretty serious and grimdark.
I enjoy exploring new potential and characters and expanding the world and scenarios. The filmmaking was good, each story beat led to the next and the scenes were built in an immersive way. These characters are not Caesar, they are different. I am perplexed by a group of people who supposedly enjoy the franchise setting their phasers for complain instead of enjoy.
Another common comment: Not as good as Dawn. Why does it have to be one or the other? I doubt we EVER get an installment as good as Dawn, since no franchise EVER gets an installment as good as Dawn. But that reductive view is not the point of a franchise and not the point of film discussion for anything besides twelve year olds. The point of a franchise is to continue in an enjoyable entertainment world full of potential. Is every Star Wars movie not as good as Empire a failure? No. Is every Bond movie not as good as Goldfinger or Casino Royale a failure? No. Is every Mission Impossible not as good as Fallout a failure? No. Cheeseburgers can be good, AND steaks can be good. Life is not one big YouTube ranking video, otherwise you wouldn’t enjoy anything.
Some fun things we CAN discuss :
How do we work toward ending at the 68 original? The Nevada bunker humans, will they launch a nuke and California will sink into the ocean and we will come to realize that Statue of Liberty is the one from New York New York hotel in Vegas? LOL.
Will Raka learn more about Caesar, and come back to Noa and say : you didn’t realize you were his lineage with those eyes and that mark on your chest? Did you get picked up by an eagle as a baby and get dropped with your adopted parents in Eagle Clan?
With Mae: I feel we are being shown the best and worst of humanity and life at the same time. Humans got in this mess by trying to use technology to manipulate nature. Noa and his clan (interesting to consider why they are a separate offshoot) live in harmony with nature and the Eagles. They eventually win through this harmony.
Mae shows the best and worst of humanity, she and they are survivors and will do anything to survive, she uses the good climbers to reach her goal (perhaps manipulating all events from the beginning to get Noa and his friends there and use them) She will kill her own kind. She and the humans are over reliant on technology to survive.
She doesn’t like seeing Noa able to fix the cattle prods and even perhaps plans to kill him because he’s too smart, as she’s willing to kill her own kind for the apes to not have technology. But Noa reminds her that she was saved by Raka and kindness. And that stays her hand.
Also at the ending the question lingers: Can humans live at peace with those that are different than them, without trying to dominate them? The ending of Rise was a good setup, but also very open ended. As was Dawn. This seems in line with those endings.
Maybe the point and message of the movie is to co-exist, to live in harmony with nature, to not try and dominate others or bend nature or others to our will, to not depend on technology too much, and instead embrace nature and coexist as eagle clan does with the eagles. Discussing and figuring out what the film actually says as made by competent professionals is more enjoyable than instead discussing what you wanted it to say in the dark revenge teenage coloring book of your imagination where all movies are grimdark and the same.
Can we have some discussion instead of just complaints?

2024.05.14 22:21 IllustriousStory2187 Would you share temp control with your land lord? (UT)

Hey all! I am looking to start renovations in the basement for a mother-in-law to rent out. Sadly there is no possible way to add another meter for separate wateheat/cooling without insane costs that I just don’t have. So I’m thinking of offering the utilities in the monthly cost with a flat rate. I have a google nest and could grant access to them on their mobile phone so they also have control of temperatures. On the plus side the basement has perfect temperature in all seasons and is honestly my favorite spot in the house. It’s a bit unconventional and I would do it as a renter, but I am wondering what others think about this.
