This conflict earned its root from Resolution 181, a plan passed with 72% of votes in favour in 1947 to create a living space for the Jewish people. The Arab states invaded Israel in 1948 and were pushed back. Conflicts between Israel and other Arab states led to heavy death tolls on both sides.
With both Hamas and Israel suffering from heavy civilian casualties, students from nations such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Austria, and Australia caused a stir calling for Israel to stop the armed conflict they did not pick with Palestine. Students might have found the killings of Israelis that led to heavy civilian casualties casual enough, but surely not casual remarks supporting Israel.
Student protests on school campuses worldwide left many Jewish students uncomfortable and unsafe. Activist Charlie Kirk was recently invited to the University of Washington to talk with college students. Both the SPD and UWPD were present. TPUSA was later accused of “using intimidation and harassment to control students, faculty, and staff for their practice of promoting hate speech.” The student body at Texas State University called for the university to deplatform TPUSA for the “consistent history of creating hostile work and learning environments through a myriad of intimidation tactics aimed against students and faculty” that they think TPUSA has.
Students have been trying to deplatform invited speakers and administrators they don’t like on school grounds. In 2015, Yale professor Nicholas A. Christakis, MD, PhD, MPH, was confronted by students and accused of being insensitive for defending the right to wear freely. Students should respect the judicial system. It will surely be interesting to see how pro-Palestine protestors react to the case NSPA v. Skokie that happened in 1977. In 2017, Charles Murray was forced to shut down his lecture when students started shouting to stop him from being heard. Last month, Jewish professor Shai Davidai of Columbia was banned from the university after being vocal against the Free Palestine movement.
In the speech made by psychologist Jonathan Haidt explaining The Coddling of the American Mind, his book that talks about college students today, he stated that parents today are overprotective of their children. He explained that this will lead to their children feeling entitled to never being or even feeling offended in his book. Students now think it is written that it is a right to not feel offended.
St Monica's in Milton Keynes banned whistles for being too aggressive for children. Haidt and Greg Lukianoff noted that the UCs included “I believe the most qualified person should get the job,” in their list of offensive speech. Editor Josh Salisbury who wrote that cliffhangers should be illegal, thinks it's the right that needs to grow. The movement Why Is My Curriculum White? is about students who want more views.
Hate speech is inappropriate and can be unprovoked, yet it is unfair to say that it is not a form of free speech. Hate speech can be an incitement, but it can also not be. It is unfair to ban and remove hate speech because some people get offended because they are not emotionally tough enough. However, the student protests supporting an aggressor in war are not strictly free of hate speech inciting violence.
If pro-Palestine students can be selfless enough to use their time to protest, they should be selfless enough to not disturb others from their day-to-day life with actions like blocking roads or distracting other students who are focusing on studying. If they could rather debate instead of protest and deplatform or protest virtually on SNS, there surely will be more law and order across school campuses worldwide.
Some students are also furious that universities are investing their money in companies tied to Israel. However, the students are the ones paying these universities for their degrees; they won’t drop out. Recently, the University of Minnesota claimed that less than 1% of all of its endowments go to companies tied with Israel. The students occupying Hamilton Hall as they did back in 1968 seem to be proud of their history, yet it seems like they forgot how they were also arrested. Private universities hold the right to manage free speech on their properties. In Bethel School District v. Fraser, public schools were also given the right to limit and control free speech on campus.

Which means double transferring speed is working with two thunderbolt cables directly connected between a macOS and a qnap nas? Yes! Definitely! :) Transferring speed could reach 2000 MB/s! SMB Multichannel could be based on tcp/ip channels, and Thunderbolt Networking is based on tcp/ip networking stack too, so SMB Multichannel over Thudnerbolt Networking should work fine. Let us take an example by a client MacPro6,1 (2013 late) and qnap nas in my lab. Wait a second .. did we mean a decade MacPro6,1 could double transferring speed by SMB Multichannel? Yes! Absolutely! :) As Apple said[1] macOS Big Sur 11.3 and later could support SMB Multichannel (client side), so just upgraded my MacPro6,1 to macOS Monterey 12.6.1 and .. let us fire up this old weapons system![2] THE A-TEAM (2010) clip, Hannibal & Face MacPro6,1 and qnap nas are directly connected with two Thunderbolt2 cables. TL;DR Hosting and participating in AMAs just got easier. As a host, you can now schedule and promote AMAs ahead of time, appoint co-hosts, and announce when your post is done. Attendees can now sign up for reminders ahead of time, get notified when the AMA starts, and quickly jump to questions that the host has replied to.
You can’t throw a virtual rock on Reddit without hitting an AMA (ask me anything), where an OP (original poster) shares a key detail about their life and prompts users to ask them anything. Historically, AMAs have been regular text posts with certain elements that make it an AMA post: a proof photo that shows that you are who you say you are, a brief bio, and of course the iconic “AMA!” in the header.
Now, we’re supercharging these special posts. Using the new AMA tab in the web composer (coming soon to mobile) unlocks a suite of special tools that make it easier to spin up and participate in an AMA post.
Quick note that this feature is in limited release right now, but you can expect it to roll out to more redditors in the coming weeks.
If you’re hosting:

2024.05.14 18:47 johndango struggling with the sadness of missing the once-in-a-lifetime aurora the other night
I live in Seattle and I never leave. For the first time in 5 years I left to go somewhere with my mom for Mother’s Day, as I should have, but didn’t have a good time, and me and my partner missed the auroa. Everyone in seattle is posting pictures of that are just insane… and my security camera shows we had an insane show at the house (recorded in low detail and in black and white but clearly we would’ve seen it well if we had been home and just had our usual night.) I know it’s not a big deal and that maybe someday something like that will happen again but my partner and I are both feeling this incredible sense of loss for missing this moment that everyone around us and online is raving about. It feels like we missed our invite to the world’s largest party and days later I feel that sense of loss get deeper not better. it's also now created unwarranted resentment from my partner in my mother who just wanted to spend time with us for the first time this year and it just happened to be crappy timing but it doesn't change that we missed out on something that we'd remember the rest of our lives. We've lived here for 20 years and never had an opportunity like that... so it feels crappy hanging our hat on "we'll get another chance one day"

I need to preface this by saying that my mom is by far the worse parent between her and my dad. She became a stay-at-home mom when she had my brother, and by her own admission, she decided not to do anything with friends, maintain friendships, or create friendships for as long as my siblings and I were home (I'm the youngest). Around 2016, my mom just became so much worse than she'd ever been. I have happy memories of her from my childhood, but my high school years do not see her fondly. It was then that I realized she was emotionally abusive, and when I reached college, I started attending a non-SBC Baptist church and she told me to go to hell. For over a year, she constantly harped on me that I had lost my way and spit in God's face and then she made everything about her and that I hated her (true) and that I was spitting in her and my dad's face because I wanted to spend spring break with friends or stay in my college city that I loved for the summer.
One of the reasons I'm trying so hard to graduate early is so I have less time of being financially dependent on my parents. Right now, they're funding my education and living situation, and that is good. I appreciate that. However, they lord that over my head at all times. I started dating when I started grad school, and I posted a cute picture of my partner and me kissing, and my mom told me that I shouldn't go on a weekend trip with him anymore because "you know how men are, he'll want to sleep with you" and then told me that she saw that picture and was unable to sleep all night. She picks fights with me and got mad when I wanted to go with my partner to a museum that my family wouldn't appreciate bc it was "unsafe" to uber with another person in broad daylight. After a vacation, I was with my partner and his family, and my mom got mad at me for not driving home in rush hour when I had told her that I knew for a fact the route was actually safer at night. Then she told me that me and my partner didn't need to be joined at the hip and started criticizing him. She senses that she's losing control and I'm sick of her taking it out on me. It's not my fault that she didn't make a life for herself outside of her children.
She and my sister are big proponents of "family is the most important thing" but will refuse to acknowledge that family can be built. If I did the whole "the actual phrase is 'the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb'" my whole family would get really pissed. I care more about my close friends from undergrad and my partner. I like my siblings okay, and I would be a lot more receptive to a relationship with my dad if he were divorced from my mom.
Yesterday, I created a finsta because I like posting but I need there to be no pressure on receiving likes. My mom requested to follow it and at first, I allowed it, but it immediately made the finsta less fun, so I told her that parents are not supposed to follow finstas and even siblings don't always (my partner has three sisters, two of whom have a finsta — there's only one other sibling per finsta there). My mom got mad at this explanation, saying that instagram wasn't real, and then was mad again that I was like "then what does it matter?"
I know this doesn't sound like a big deal, but interactions with my mom are the only things that can immediately deflate me. My partner sees how I react whenever I get a text from her, and my entire demeanor changes. I have panic attacks sometimes when she texts me. I've muted her contact before. But I know even that will be an issue because my partner and I are deadset on a no kids wedding and only inviting close friends and family. If I could cut off my mom and still have an okay relationship with my dad, I'd do it. But the people who have loved me better than my family ever has are my friends, my undergrad mentors, and my partner. I don't like my mom, and I don't love her. She is an obligation that I cannot wait to be free from.

One of the reasons I'm trying so hard to graduate early is so I have less time of being financially dependent on my parents. Right now, they're funding my education and living situation, and that is good. I appreciate that. However, they lord that over my head at all times. I started dating when I started grad school, and I posted a cute picture of my partner and me kissing, and my mom told me that I shouldn't go on a weekend trip with him anymore because "you know how men are, he'll want to sleep with you" and then told me that she saw that picture and was unable to sleep all night. She picks fights with me and got mad when I wanted to go with my partner to a museum that my family wouldn't appreciate bc it was "unsafe" to uber with another person in broad daylight. After a vacation, I was with my partner and his family, and my mom got mad at me for not driving home in rush hour when I had told her that I knew for a fact the route was actually safer at night. Then she told me that me and my partner didn't need to be joined at the hip and started criticizing him. She senses that she's losing control and I'm sick of her taking it out on me. It's not my fault that she didn't make a life for herself outside of her children.
She and my sister are big proponents of "family is the most important thing" but will refuse to acknowledge that family can be built. If I did the whole "the actual phrase is 'the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb'" my whole family would get really pissed. I care more about my close friends from undergrad and my partner. I like my siblings okay, and I would be a lot more receptive to a relationship with my dad if he were divorced from my mom.
Yesterday, I created a finsta because I like posting but I need there to be no pressure on receiving likes. My mom requested to follow it and at first, I allowed it, but it immediately made the finsta less fun, so I told her that parents are not supposed to follow finstas and even siblings don't always (my partner has three sisters, two of whom have a finsta — there's only one other sibling per finsta there). My mom got mad at this explanation, saying that instagram wasn't real, and then was mad again that I was like "then what does it matter?"
I know this doesn't sound like a big deal, but interactions with my mom are the only things that can immediately deflate me. My partner sees how I react whenever I get a text from her, and my entire demeanor changes. I have panic attacks sometimes when she texts me. I've muted her contact before.
