Hey folks, I have symptoms of Checking OCD and few symptoms of BPD like emptiness, splitting and unstable self image etc.. Haven't got a diagnosis yet, but I'm planning to sort it out next week.
So, here's the deal: I've got these voices/thoughts in my head, kinda like two roommates with very different vibes. I named them Michael and Lucifer (yes, like Angel and Devil) to sort out my thinking.
Michael is like a goody-two-shoes type, morally white, gullible, timid, shy, selfless.
Then there's Lucifer, who's morally greyish, confident, selfish, egotist etc.... in short both are quite opposite to each other and have different perspectives and belief systems
These guys influence me big time, like I'm caught in a tug-of-war between them. Sometimes I lean towards Michael, other times towards Lucifer, depending on what's going on around me. I consider them as states instead of alters.
For example, while I'm in Lucifer's state, Michael's influence is very low. If I do something bad that goes against Michael's belief system, I won't feel anything at that time. But later, when I'm in Michael's state, I feel guilty and bad for what I've done while in Lucifer's state, even if those things benefited me. By the way, no amnesia here. I remember everything.
I used to think this was just classic BPD stuff with unstable self-image, Black and white thinking and all that jazz. But then I heard about OSDD, which sounds kinda similar-like undeveloped and less distinct alters, minus the amnesia.
So, any thoughts or similar experiences to share? I'm not looking for a diagnosis, just some friendly advice to help me wrap my head around things. Appreciate ya!

I (W21) and my boyfriend (M22) have been dating for 3 years now, and everything has been fine until now. We have known each other since high school, and we were friends for 3 years before dating each other. Not that long ago, I was asking my boyfriend about his previous relationships, I was curious because he is my first boyfriend, but he had been in multiple relationships before dating me. When we first became friends, he quickly developed feelings for me, but I rejected him because I knew that nothing would have worked out back then, so he ended up dating different people while we were friends. I was there for most of his relationships as a friend (I haven't developed any feelings, and everything between us was platonic). Every once in a while, he would confess his feelings to me, and I would turn him down. I have seen what he was like during every breakup. After a year or two of us just being friends (he would still confess to me that he liked me), he started dating this girl. When he first started dating her (and when we first started dating), he would compare things about us, such as our hobbies, characteristics, personalities, work ethic, the sport that we played, and many other things like that. He would tell me how much she and I had in common, but at that time, I didn't think much about anything, solely because it wasn't any of my business. When they broke up, I had never seen him so heartbroken. One of the biggest reasons I thought maybe I should give him a chance was because of how long he has liked me. So recently, I brought her up because I was curious to see what type of relationship they had, and I slowly started to understand that I was being lied to. I started to realize that I was her replacement. I confronted him about the situation. I asked him who he liked first, her or me. In my mind, I always thought that he had always liked me first. The answer he gave me was her. So I asked him when he started liking me. He told me that it was a couple of months before we started dating. So that means that for three years, him telling me that he liked me was a lie. He told me that he didn't like me the times he told me he did, he claimed that he had a "thing" for me the whole time when we were friends but didn't truly develop feelings until we actually started dating, he has told me multiple times that I'm not her replacement, but the whole timeline and information just doesn't seem right. So now I just feel like his ex's rebound. What do I do? Do you guys believe him? Am I a replacement???

The title is kind of confusing so I will try to explain it to the best of my abilities without giving away too much information.
To start out I am not in a union and the state I live in is considered an "at will" state.
A few months ago the company that I work for published the wage scales to be more open and transparent with what people can expect when they move up in the company. The wage scale is based off of steps in your training and each time you train for a new position you get a raise until you have maxed out on training. No one is required to complete all the training and they make it your choice if you want to or not. All you have to do is say you want to train up and they will let you. Since you don't have to do all of the training, within each step of the training they have the yearly raises built in the wage scale to show what you will be making after 1 year, 2 years and so on in each position if you were to stop at any given spot in the training.
Recently I completed all of the training and there are no more positions that I can train for, so now I am just going to get yearly raises from here on out. When I completed my training I was expecting to make what the wage scale posted on the company website showed that I should be making, however, when they updated my position on our company pay stub and position tracking website they put the position on there correctly but the pay said I was getting paid about $1 an hour less than the posted wage scale. It may not seem like much, but I after 40 hours/ week for a whole year that makes a significant difference. Not to mention I work a lot of overtime so that's $1.50 an hour less for my OT.
I talked with my supervisors (who have no say in how much I make since it is based off of a scale) and they all agreed that I should be making more. So I emailed HR and Payroll for the company to try to get it fixed. They replied that my pay rate was correct and that the wage scales that were posted have since been changed but they did not update them on the company website. I asked all of my co-workers (who have all cleared all training long ago) and they were getting paid based off of the original scale posted so I sent another email explaining that and within 24 hours the wage scales were removed completely off of the website. Luckily I took screenshots with dates and times as well as the date the wages were posted because they were on page "last edited (insert date)". Another 48 hours after they removed the original wage scales they posted the new ones. The new scale shows that with the position that I am in, my pay is correct (meaning the $1 an hour less amount).
I am wondering if it is even worth fighting for the extra $1 an hour. I am newer to the company and don't want to be let go for putting up a fight, but I also don't want to be known for not fighting for myself in these types of situations and let people think they can walk all over me. I am a pretty agreeable person and normally just go with the flow unless something directly effects me. I stay out of drama and help my direct co-workers out as much as possible, when they ask me to do something I will do it as long as it is work related because I want my company to succeed. I am finally feeling comfortable around my coworkers and I love what I do so I don't want to ruin that.

I basically screwed my freshman and sophomore years of high school. If I do graduate on time, I will be cutting it very close, and after a seemingly never ending pile of credit remediation over my last remaining summer breaks of high school. It could have been avoided if I wasn’t a bitch and constantly depressed. I really want to live, make friends, have a severe case of FOMO, and was planning on spending this summer at parties; urban exploring, thrifting, volunteering, going to a summer camp that looks good on college apps, taking more shifts at my job, etc., but have to do summer school pretty much the entire summer.
There are only two weeks where I’m free, and my friends are on vacation. These friends never hang out anyway and are the type to flake out on everything and not just spontaneously decide to hang out (like normal teenagers. What’s worse is that we live in pretty dense suburbia, but many other kids still meet up all the time with their friends anyway. I’m at a different school from them right now, but am transferring back to the high school they’re in, so it might get easier, but I doubt it. I only have a couple of summer breaks left before college, and I’m freaking out.
Last summer I was depressed and didn’t do anything + struggled with anorexia. The summer of being 16 is supposed to be a pivotal time for teens coming of age, but I’m literally going to be stuck in a classroom. I don’t know what to do. I’m not sure what’s worse, being genuinely depressed over the summer from the beginning, or being hyped up for summer & happy, only to be stuck in the same place you’ve been in for the last year

Since my last post, I have not spoken to her at all. My SO went to visit her twice without me because I told him I didn’t want to go.
Well, guess what? That “shiny spine” my SO was growing was all a lie because he had a talk with her on Mother’s Day, and now all of a sudden, I have never made the effort to have a conversation with MIL.
She just doesn’t know me, and I don’t know her—that's why she acts like that. She’s very upset about the baby shower situation and feels like my mother and I throwing one is a slap in the face to her. She pretty much told SO that she doesn’t like me over stuff that happened between me and him when I was a teenager and because I don’t eat her food.
SO says I should be the one to have a conversation with MIL. He said that if this situation with MIL doesn’t get fixed, he doesn’t want to continue this relationship. He was only mad that day because he wasn’t allowed to take his siblings out, not because of all the stuff she said about me for no reason. Now I honestly feel like he blames me for this whole situation and that he chose MIL.
I told him I’m open to a conversation before the baby gets here, but he says MIL has a lot going on with her master’s graduation and she’s sick, so I should be understanding until she cools off and we can have a “heart to heart” with MIL. What’s the point of continuing this relationship? This whole thing, and the fact that it’s affecting me and the baby, has made me look at him so differently. I think I’m going to break things off.

My friends and I have a comic we're working on, intended to be a pretty long-running series. It's an AU comic, though, so while it does still have things like Beach City and Greg and all the Gem types are pretty much the same, a lot of the lore is different and the story itself goes in a much different direction than SU, and will get rather dark and serious later on. We're thinking about posting new "issues/episodes" of it weekly, and it would be nice if we could organize things into seasons or episodes rather than needing to navigate through all the pages. We don't really intend to profit off of it, more just creating it for fun and would be excited to share it with the world once we're ready.
What would be a good place to share this comic, once we're at a point where we feel comfortable doing so? We're considering Tumblr, but I and one of my friends find the UI challenging to get used to. Things like Webtoon or similar platforms where the comic is formatted more for scrolling also isn't our intention, as the pages are formatted more like traditional comic pages. Trying to buy my first ever fish tank, I want to do this right and give my betta a great home but I'm stuck at the most basic hurdle. I've decided that I want to keep him in a 10 gallon tank [based on videos I've watched of fish keepers advice], however my country uses Litres and non of the tanks I'm looking at are measured in gallons, I tired converting but found there are 2 different types of gallons, imperial and US liquid. I’m a 20 year old transgender woman, I transitioned at 15, I look, act, feel, sound, and everyone believes I am a “woman”. I’m not bragging or “tooting”but I am very attractive I get compliments in public, flooded with compliments on apps, I’m fairly short, and have a decent sense of style (I am now tooting my own horn). I should feel lucky I should feel grateful, I should feel good, but everything hurts. I hate myself so much it’s unreal, nothing makes me feel happy not even the compliments not even love. My life would be so much easier if I was just normal, nothing I’ve experienced has been normal or okay. I’d do anything to trade places with anyone, I prayed for it as a child and I pray for it now. Everything is painful, I can’t even look in the mirror with out my appearance changing infront of my own eyes, or my eyes going directly to my pelvis and hating myself even more. i cqnt even move past hating myself to be loved by my boyfriend wiyh out sabotaging it all. ive started to pick at him and its unfair, the shame and guilt i hold when we go dates is overwhelming, he won’t even reach for my hand in public and I know he feels shame too, yet he gets off to the idea of me being different. I’m a walking fetish and it makes me sick, the idea of being fetishized has made me despise having sex. The idea of my boyfriend getting of to the fact that none of his family, friends or even his roommate know that I am trans hurts, I don’t want them to know but I’d rather not know he’s getting off to my pain and discomfort at my expense. Believing my only hope for a stable life being through only fans is awful, I’m convinced it’s my only option for some type of salvation, at least if I take control of the fetishizing then will I have power and I guess I’ll have money. Then maybe I can try and heal myself with a surgery that could lessen the suffering and pain I feel already. Sex has become a nothing, sometimes I enjoy it but sometimes im doing it to my others happy, so that I feel wanted and validated and APPRECIATED. The feeling of being touched makes me shifted out of my body, I feel like I’m in a porn video, poked, pounded, sucked, licked, kissed nothing feels good anymore but it’s the only time I feel valued. Everything makes me sick and disgusting, the feeling of being touched and acting like it feels good is draining all for the pursuit of love, affection, touch, and validation. I can’t tell if it’s underlying trauma? Maybe something happened as a child? Or maybe I just can’t help but to dissociate. The heart ache I have when I think about me being a normal person male or female, nothing can take that away. Suggesting I should de transition isn’t realistic, I have breasts that would require extensive weight loss or even surgery, even with weight loss I’d still have loose skin I’d have to remove. Detransitioning would cause more pain then I already have, whether you believe being trans is real or not is beyond, I’ve made my bed and I’m happy to a point about how I look but I will never be fulfilled as a person. I’m stuck with the biological FACT that I am male who was born with a cursed brain. Therapy has never helped I went through multiple years of therapy to even begin my transition none of which helped only proved that I am an ill individual who’s suffering from a very severe case of gender dysphoria. I tried to mutilate my body as a child (no damage done). I wish for one thing that people take away from this is that being trans is PAINFUL transitioning IS PAINFUL, and even more painful to go back and live as your biological sex. An analogy I read compared it to a walking through a door that tortures you as you walk in but tortures you again if not worse then before. I wish to be treated as a HUMAN BEING not a sexual object, an animal, subhuman, or as if we don’t matter. I feel pain and I know pain and I deserve to be heard, seen, and loved.

My best friend has been living with me since October 2023 due to bad family circumstances, her living in my room has proven to me how DIFFERENT we both are, were very much on opposite ends of everything. I'm dogsitting for my grandma this week (today's the first day), I usually do this once or twice a year and I always look forward to being alone the entire week. I knew my best friend would come over for a night or 2 but she called me earlier and told me she was staying the whole week? We already live together and I'd assume she'd enjoy having the room to herself at least a little bit, but she's the type of person who needs somebody with her at all times, she's explained to me on multiple occasions how she would never be able to live alone. I've been incredibly stressed recently and being around her all day every day has kind of added onto that in a way. As much as I love her I need time away from her. I tried to explain that earlier by bringing up how she may enjoy some time alone and then saying I prefer alone time and stuff but I didn't directly ask her to leave or anything because I know it would hurt her feelings alot. I love her so much but I was extremely frustrated all day, it's like knowing she was going to be here the whole week was ruining my "routine", she was putting certain things in spots I wouldn't put them, or asking me to turn off certain lights I always keep on, those little things just kept building up and frustrating me until she finally went to bed and I sat in the bathroom and cried, I actually surprised myself with that because I rarely cry, but I guess this is just very overwhelming for me especially because of how stressed I've been recently. I'm the type of person who NEEDS to be alone for a while, for hours, days, even a week or more at a time, I can't function without having a certain amount of time alone, but ever since she moved in I kind of haven't had that at all, and my bedrooms the only place in this world that I can call my own and be alone in, but I can't anymore because she's here which feels awful to say, I love her living with me but I can't be around her 24/7 and I don't know how to explain this to her without making her extremely upset or making her cry. I feel like I've been rambling at this point but if anyone can give some advice I'd really really really appreciate it because I can't hold this in any longer and I feel guilty for having these feelings even though I love my best friend so much.

I am trying to find a very simplistic type of software to make a video in a certain way, basically taking an image file (think like a very large informative chart) and timestamps and views.
It is very hard to find in a web search software that does a certain task in a certain way, not using the right search terms, when what I would call it describes something totally different because what it generally does it already done. For example it's not really video editing, it's "video creating", but specifically creating a video the way I want to with simplicity, and not a huge commercial program that does a million different things. I assume if I want it to work exactly the way I want, I will have to make it myself, but I'm not a programmer, but I can learn basic things, or will have to find somebody who can execute my vision, or shares the vision and wants to collaborate on it.
Basically I want a simple dialog box where you start out with you upload an image file and it asks how long you want the video to be. So for instance you upload your file and you enter 3 minutes. The initial view would be just the full image, but you could change that by adding a different view and deleting that view. So it starts out there is one view, and it goes from 0:00.0 to 3:00.0. Then you can click 'add view' and it'll duplicate that view, and automatically recalculate so view 1 would be 0:00.0 to 1:30.0 and view 2 would be from 1:30.0 to 3:00.0. Then you "edit" View 2, by pan, tilt, zoom in, zoom out, etc. and make View 2 different from View 1. It would automatically create the transition (i.e. fly-by from View 1 to View 2), by parameters that you can define, but there would be a default setting, for instance, 5 seconds to transition. Then you could add as many views as you want, also would want to have a few additional basic features like fade-in and fade-out to and from black or white.
It could support adding a second image file, and you could make additional views on those. Any of the time boxes would be editable, And if you change one it would recalculate the others.
The application of this would be like an informational video where you have a very large chart and you want to pan around and zoom in and show different things on the chart at exact times, for instance to sync up with an audio file. So you could record the audio and then you have the time stamps, so you know, for instance, at 1:42 I want to zoom in on this, at 1:51 I want to zoom in on this etc.
I know this can be done with Windows Movie Maker or other software like Adobe, CapCut, etc., but nothing I've found does just this the way I want and does it well and easy. A nice, lightweight freeware or shareware, or paid, simple software that doesn't need to be a whole video editing suite. Although if there is a video editor that might suit me that I should give a try, I'm open to suggestions. But I'm more interested in figuring out what the process would be to build it from scratch exactly the way I want it to work. But again, I'm not a programmer, I don't even know what language of programming I would have to learn ideally to undertake this.
Any thoughts, no matter how absurd, that anybody has on this or any other ideas, are much appreciated. As are suggestions for existing software to try that I may not be aware of.

Hey all, hope you're all well. As the title implies, I am quite unwell and may not have much longer on this earth. Hence asking this question, despite it being asked over and over, because I have quite unique requirements.
TLDR: Which duffel suits me best, for 1-2 week trips, out of the 40L Patagonia, 55L Patagonia, or 71L North Face (or smaller North Face), given that this may be my final trip, and given that money is tight due to medical treatments etc?
At the moment, I own several Evergoods backpacks and slings. I also own (or semi-own, shared with my partner) an old-style, bright red, plasticky-looking Patagonia Black Hole duffel in 55L (I hate the colour and look of it, only got it as it was like $100 USD off). Other than that, I just have a medium-size American Tourister suitcase.
Anyway, long story short, I'd like to get a new duffel. Part of it is that I've always hated the shiny look of the Patagonia duffels - no longer an issue with this 2024 update. But it has annoyed me for years, our bright red Patagonia 😡
It would be used primarily for trips 1-2 weeks long, naturally sometimes just a weekend trip, pretty much always domestically. I'm someone who struggles to pack smartly and minimally - especially in winter. So that's something to consider, but I'm getting back into it, meaning the whole "minimalist" carrying thing.
I would largely have the ability to wash my clothes on the go. It would need to fit: probably enough clothes for five days, including business shoes + a toiletries/dopp kit (using an Evergoods CAP2 for this) + a medicines kit (have a number of health issues, again, using a different CAP2 for this) + ideally my Birkenstocks (I wear Converses on my days off, business shoes for work naturally and nice dinners, and the Birkenstocks for little things like walking down the road to the local supermarket, or taking the laundry out to hang it up etc).
But I can live without the Birkenstocks on trips, so it would be: wearing Converses with business shoes in the duffel. Naturally, laptop + power bank + most medicines (especially important for my Ritalin) + a book + cables + whatever else can go in my Evergoods 24L CPL. And then with my sling to take out each day to explore.
So I am not sure whether to get the Patagonia or the North Face, in the 40 (Patagonia), 55L (Patagonia), or the North Face in S or M. Sadly, where I live, it is more or less impossible to see them in person before buying. I have the 55L Patagonia, as I said, and other than the coloutextile, the main things I don't like are: a) lack of internal organisation (not improved for the 2024 version I believe), and b) when not crammed full, it sags and lacks structure.
I'm hoping this is a bag I can use for many years to come, and I'm just sick of having to use my suitcase all the time (just that it's big, chunky, obnoxious). For other types of travel I've got an Osprey backpack that I pair with my sling for exploring during the day.
So yes, my questions are:
The North Face is therefore around $100 AUD cheaper than normal, meaning, $100 AUD cheaper than the standard price for the bag, being $70 USD cheaper, as it is on clearance (making it a great deal, in my opinion, but again, happy to spend more on a Patagonia if it will be a better bag for me). That's specifically for the "Timber Tan" colour, which I quite like. It also boils down to the size - I hate it when a bag is too big for what you need it for.
It's the reason I sold my Evergoods MPL30 and CPL28. I'm 6'2", so it wasn't an issue of them being too big for my frame - just too big for my EDC. And that feeling of not wanting "too much room" transfers across to duffels. But then again, it's shit when you are packing for a trip and can't even fit the essentials - especially my CAP2 medicines kit and CAP2 toiletries bag, they take up a fair bit of space.
In so many ways, the 40L Patagonia would be perfect - lifetime warranty as far as I know, and a company dedicated to saving the environment. Plus it is small enough to take as carry-on when flying, I think, and I much prefer the new Patagonia design over the North Face design. But I don't want to come across as sold on the Patagonia! The North Face, for me, seems to have the advantages of that extra external pocket and compression straps. I don't know that there's too much else for it.

And I don't know what the difference is between the "Base Camp Voyager" and the standard "Base Camp" duffel? If anyone knows, please let me know.
