Simon mall scholarship deadline

Is full ride even possible for international students at WFU?

2024.05.14 16:00 1600_SAT Is full ride even possible for international students at WFU?

I was doing some research and found out that WFU has a Nov15 deadline scholarship with full ride. But, I have heard that these scholarships like in any other school are biased towards US National (obviously and i'm not complaining), but, I wanted to know if you know any international student who have received it?
My Stats:
GPA: 4.0/4.0
SAT: 1530
Honors: National Oly Gold, and rank 7 in 2 different olympiads. National Hackathon winner. Merit list
ECs: Leaderships (3-4) over 4 years. 1 research. some community service. MUN stuffs. Jobs etc...

2024.05.14 15:37 i-hate-the-lsat Emory scholarship reconsideration

Has anyone received their updated scholarship info after filling out the form? The second deposit deadline is tomorrow and it seems they’re waiting last minute to send it out 🥲

2024.05.14 15:30 lactoesndtoddlrants Are SHS graduates still eligible for scholarships after a gap year?

Alumni here. My sister missed the scholarship applications deadline, so I'm thinking if it's better for her to take a gap year and just apply for scholarship when the next school year admission starts.
Might be a dumb question, but I genuinely don't know. Will she still be eligible for incoming freshmen scholarships if she took a gap year after SHS? She's from a different school btw. Hope someone here knows 😭

Qcomm Scholarships
Hey so this fall I’m planning on going to Queens for commerce however I realized that I never actually submit the financial aid form, I also know that queens doesn’t have entrance scholarships based on average ranges like other unis do (for ex. 92+ avg gets x amount guaranteed).
So my question is what bursaries and scholarships can I get from queens and smith and is it still possible to submit the financial aid form and actually get something even though the deadline was a long time ago. Pretty much just need any money I can get my hands on to pay for it. I also saw the page (the pic above) and was wondering if anyone knew how to actually get some of the mentioned scholarships.
If it helps for maybe merit based stuff I had a 97 avg at midterms and also I come from a single and low income household.

Introduction
Chennai, a bustling metropolitan city in India, is home to numerous esteemed international schools known for their high academic standards, diverse curriculums, and holistic development programs. Securing a spot in these prestigious institutions can be a challenging yet rewarding endeavor. This comprehensive guide will walk you through the essential steps and provide valuable tips to navigate the admission process successfully.
Explore the best junior colleges in Chennai, renowned for their exceptional academic programs, experienced faculty, and comprehensive extracurricular activities. Find the perfect institution to kickstart your higher education journey with detailed information on courses, admissions, and facilities.
Understanding the Landscape
Chennai’s top international schools include names like the American International School Chennai (AISC), The British International School Chennai, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, among others. These schools offer various curricula, including the International Baccalaureate (IB), the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), and the American curriculum, catering to the diverse needs of expatriate and local families.
Research and Selection
Identify Your Priorities: Determine what’s important for you and your child – curriculum, extracurricular activities, school culture, location, fees, etc.
Create a List: Make a list of potential schools that match your criteria. Visit their websites, attend open houses, and read reviews to gather more information.
Consider the Curriculum: Different schools offer different curriculums such as IB, IGCSE, or American. Choose one that aligns with your child’s future educational plans.
Application Process
Check Admission Criteria: Each school has its own set of admission criteria, including age requirements, previous academic performance, and language proficiency.
Prepare Necessary Documents: Commonly required documents include birth certificates, academic records, transfer certificates, proof of residence, passport-sized photographs, and sometimes medical records.
Submit the Application: Fill out the application forms meticulously. Some schools offer online application facilities, while others may require physical submission.
Entrance Exams and Interviews
Entrance Tests: Many top international schools in Chennai conduct entrance exams to assess a student’s academic capabilities. These tests typically cover subjects like English, Mathematics, and Science.
Interviews: Schools may also conduct personal interviews with the student and sometimes with parents to understand the child's personality, interests, and family background.
Preparation: Prepare your child for these assessments by reviewing past papers if available, and practicing common exam questions.
Financial Considerations
Tuition Fees: International schools tend to have higher tuition fees compared to local schools. It’s crucial to understand the fee structure, which may include admission fees, annual fees, and other charges.
Scholarships and Financial Aid: Some schools offer scholarships or financial aid to meritorious students. Inquire about these opportunities and understand the application process and eligibility criteria.
Additional Costs: Be aware of additional costs such as transportation, uniforms, extracurricular activities, and other miscellaneous expenses.
Final Steps
School Visits: Visit the shortlisted schools to get a firsthand experience of the campus, facilities, and the overall environment. This also allows you to interact with teachers and current students.
Decision Making: After visits and assessments, discuss with your child and make an informed decision. Consider factors like the school’s culture, teaching methods, and how they align with your child’s learning style.
Acceptance and Enrollment: Once you receive admission offers, review them carefully. Follow the instructions for acceptance, which usually involves paying an admission fee and submitting the necessary documents.
Tips for a Successful Application
Start Early: Begin your research and application process well in advance to avoid last-minute hassles.
Stay Organized: Keep track of application deadlines, required documents, and test dates.
Communicate: Maintain regular communication with the admissions office for updates and clarifications.
Prepare Your Child: Ensure your child is well-prepared for entrance tests and interviews.
Encourage them to be confident and honest during interactions.
Seek Guidance: If needed, seek advice from educational consultants who specialize in international school admissions.

2024.05.14 04:08 Ok_Examination6697 Should I stay local or go away for college

As the deadline to submit my internet to register is approaching (two days) I’m stuck with 3 options going to UC Berkeley, UCSC or staying local and living with my family. There’s obviously some pros to staying such as having my car, keeping my job and being with my family. But I find myself thinking about what it would be like to have the college experience such as dorms and meeting new people not to mention getting to grow more as an individual. Between ucb and ucsc I think ucsc would be best for me mentally but when I went to visit the area seemed sort of empty but I’d feel guilty choosing ucb for the prestige and simply because it sounds nicer to say than ucsc. In terms of financial aid I haven’t received any awards yet so I don’t know how much I’d pay for any but I got a scholarship for ucsc so I’d pay around 9k and for my local csu I’d be going for free. Part of me wants to stay because I don’t feel like I’m grown enough to leave home and I want to be able to enjoy going to college while having more liberty. I already finished 2 years of CC credit so I can’t do two years and then transfer. If anyone has so insight or a different perspective on my situation that would be great.

2024.05.14 02:45 cat-XIV should i take another gap year?

I currently have deposits down at 2 different schools - case western and chicago - kent. both schools offered me 120k scholarships over 3 years, but as i’m getting closer to final deadlines, i’ve realized i’m not very excited about either school. My goal is to live and work in the Pacific Northwest, and i’m unsure how realistic transferring from either of these schools to a PNW school would be. I’ve already taken one gap year, and am considering taking another, retaking the LSAT and then reapplying. However, waiting another year means giving up some pretty good scholarships and potentially still not getting into one of my goal schools. Any insight would be super appreciated as i’m feeling pretty torn about what to do.

2024.05.13 22:18 Particular_Luck_4305 Financial Aid Professional Judgment

I received Cal Grant A for Berkeley, UCSD, and UCSB. However, I did not receive the Cal Grant for UCLA. I called CSAC, and they said I did not meet the minimum requirements for need for UCLA due to my unmet need (Unmet need = cost of attendance - SAI). The person I talked to with CSAC stated that to receive the Cal Grant, unmet need has to be over the Cal Grant amount plus $1,500, so it must be 14,436 + 1500 = $15,936. For UCLA with a cost of attendance for on campus resident is $42,059, my unmet need is $15,895, so I am $41 under the unmet need and am not eligible for the Cal Grant. For UCSD with a cost of attendance for on campus resident is $42,639, my unmet need is $16,475, meaning I am eligible for the Cal Grant.
I have called UCLA's financial aid office and asked for a professional judgment since the CSAC counselor recommended that I should. They have not gotten back to me yet since the Cal Grant counselor for UCLA was busy. For UCLA, I only received $2,530 in university grants and $3,774 in SHIP grants, but I already have insurance. The cost of attendance for UCLA would be $39,529, while UCSD would be $23,203 (I also received the Regents Scholarship for UCSD).
How would the professional judgment work? If my appeal works, how much aid would I receive? The deadline to commit is in 2 days. While UCLA is my dream school and I really want to attend, it wouldn't be wise of me to choose UCLA over other UC's since I would be paying over $16,000 more a year.

2024.05.13 20:36 vanitasho When are USF scholarships awarded?

Question's pretty obvious but my ability to pay for my tuition is dependent on whether I receive any single one of the 6 scholarships I've applied for. I don't want to take out student loans when in fact I could potentially pay for it with scholarships and my grants alone if I receive them but I don't know when those are going to be awarded.
Many of them say that the deadline for them is May 17th, so I assume they haven't been awarded yet as you can still apply for them (I don't know why they would award scholarships you can still apply for). Does anyone know the usual timeline for these or if anyone has received these yet?

2024.05.13 18:21 ConsistentTrack7964 My CV keeps getting rejected for PM roles

My CV keeps getting rejected for PM roles
Hi everyone,
I've recently applied to several companies (approx. 5 - I know it's not too many) for roles as a Project Manager or Project Coordinator, including to Foster + Partners, from which I've unfortunately already received a rejection. I believe I have the relevant experience for these roles, particularly in the construction industry.
Attached is my anonymised CV. I've removed some personal details for privacy but kept the essential experience and qualifications intact. Could you please review it and share any feedback on what might be missing or areas for improvement? I'm interested in understanding how I might better align my CV with the expectations for technical or non technical PM jobs.
Thank you all in advance for your help and advice!

2024.05.13 18:18 Antique-Bet-894 Goodnight Transfer Scholarship Info NCSU

Hey everyone! I just wanted to come on here and explain a little about my experience with the Goodnight scholarship interview day and application since everything I saw on here when I was searching was either vague or pessimistic.
-> there is no virtual option, everything is in person -> you cannot bring anyone else -> you must dress business-casual (no jeans, shorts, sweatshirts, or tees!) -> you are expected to mingle a LOT -> the interview itself is 15-20 mins -> it’ll be two people interviewing you in a room -> you MUST be there for the whole interview day (9-3 is what I think it was this past year) -> when you’re not interviewing, you are mingling, eating, and touring -> the scholars generally just want to get a feel for you -> you’ll be asked questions similar to: tell me about how you handled a difference of opinion, what are some leadership positions you’ve held, tell me about a challenge you overcame, etc. ->THEY WILL PROBABLY NOT ASK ABOUT WHAT YOU HAVE ON YOUR APPLICATION ESSAY (emphasized because I thought they would) -> if nothing else, it’s great job interview practice and free food
If you have any other questions, please feel free to drop them below and I’ll answer if I can. You’ve got this! Go pack!

2024.05.13 17:15 MoreLikeHellGrant Paper FAFSAs to be begin processing in late June.

https://fsapartners.ed.gov/knowledge-centelibrary/electronic-announcements/2024-05-10/2024-25-fafsa-update-processing-paper-fafsa-forms-implementing-school-initiated-corrections-and-temporary-changes-process-reporting-disbursements-provide-institutional-flexibility
“The Department recommends that all students, even those who have submitted a paper FAFSA, complete the online FAFSA if possible unless the student filed a paper FAFSA to meet an aid or scholarship deadline prior to the availability of online processing. Filing an online FAFSA will negate the paper filing date.”
Check with your schools and scholarship administrators to see which you should do. Most will want you to file the online version ASAP because we’ll get the data sooner than if we wait for your paper FAFSA to be processed.

2024.05.13 14:16 CalaxDragon Resume Review & Advice - IT - Software Engineer Resume

Hello everyone!
I've seen many resumes have received great feedback already, and I was hoping that I might be one of the lucky ones. I have already tried following the recommendations the best I can, but I am pretty sure I messed it up after all and would really appreciate some guidance.
My big issue is that I am about to finish my Master's Degree, and along with 12+ years of professional, practical experience, am having a hard time finding jobs/not immediately getting rejected without even going into interview phase.
It might be important to note that I am currently living in Europe and am looking to get jobs in either Switzerland/Zurich or America (Looking at Bay Area) if possible, using my extensive knowledge about Front- and Backend Development, DevOps, Security (thanks to my recent Masters Degree) or gaining experience in the SRE field.
I find it hard to quantify my achievements in a way of "Reduced latency by XX%" as I have not been in roles where I could measure such numbers without making things up, to be honest.
I was hoping to receive some advice on how/what to improve - Of course only if anyone has the time and willpower to help me out!
Resume
I would appreciate your help a lot, thank you very much!

2024.05.13 12:22 RexTheOnion Help me choose: OSU VS OSU

I'm currently choosing between Oregon state university and The Ohio State University for a BS in computer science. I had pretty much settled on Oregon state because I'm an Oregon resident and my tuition is completely paid for by the Oregon opportunity grant and my Pell grant. I also qualify for 9.5k of Government loans and 4k of work study, so I could leave school with a manageable 38k of debt for room and board, or I could get a part time job and graduate with even less.
Ohio originally seemed like a terrible idea because of its insane out of state tuition (44k), but they gave me a 14k "university grant," (formerly Scarlet and Gray Grant), and another 1k SEOG grant.
This would still mean taking out 36k of loans for my first year, 27 of that private... But I'm in a unique position, because I'm 24 and completely financially independent I think I would qualify for in state for years 2-4. I'm unsure if I would get to keep my university and SEOG grant, on top of the ohio opportunity grant I'd get once I was an Ohio resident. But if I did, that would mean Ohio is actually somewhat comparable to Oregon in terms of price. Still more expensive because of the interest on those private loans, but a lot more comparable than I thought.
I'm biased towards moving out of state for school because I want to see more places, and I'll be honest I want the higher ranking (33rd vs 72nd for compsci.) But I don't know a lot about Columbus and do really like Corvallis. I'll also be an hour away from my friends and family in Portland if I choose Oregon. Although Columbus is a bit easier to get to the Netherlands where my girlfriend is studying.
I guess my main question is: is there any world where Ohio is a good idea? Is it too risky? Too much hassle dealing with all these variables? How much more opportunity will I actually have at a t30 massive school like Ohio vs Oregon state?
I'm still waiting on scholarships for both these schools, so that may change things. Although the deadlines are coming up. I also don't really know who to ask about my grants, and If I'd get to keep them or not if I qualified for in state, would the financial aid department be able to help?
Misc info about me that may be helpful:

2024.05.13 11:40 Hellaur Dropping/Retention Fee - Archer Achiever

Hii does anybody know if the archer achiever scholarship covers the retention fee for dropping a subject beyond the full refund deadline? Or do I have to pay this myself?
There’s already a 1k late fee in addition to the fee so it might pile up while I’m saving for it 😭
