Vfw scholarship application

In my second year I was offered a merit cum means scholarship from my college (government engineering) for tuition fees, but I had to pay other fee components. Since I had already paid full fee for two semesters, tution fee for those was to be refunded. But after few months of being accepted into the scholarship I recieved a call from them that my refund amount has been transferred to someone else's account mistakenly and they are trying to get it back. I tried to follow up with them via email but all my mails were straight up ignored. When college reopened ( applications were done during COVID) I even approached the concerned office multiple times but was always told same answer that the bank is trying to resolve the issue and they would inform me if any update comes. But now it has been three years since then and I am about to graduate. I still have not received the money. My queries are

1. Does it really take this long to solve such issues by the bank?
2. What legal action can I take to ensure that I recieve my refund?

Hey guys! I need to come up with $750 in 15 days or less, so I am brainstorming options to do it. I will have substaintal money rolling in from an internship after those 15 days, but until then, I am sort of broke. Please read my story and see if you have any ideas.
Some credit background: I am a 21 Y/O engineering student from the US trying to get a credit card by the end of the month (~15 days). My credit score is 763 on TransUnion, 761 on Equifax (according to Credit Karama) and 791 FICO Score (according to my KeyBank portal). I walked into my local branch of Keybank and asked for a credit card. We did the application right there and they seemed enthusiatic about it. Of course, I get an email saying I was not approved. I called them back and they said some reasoning about co-owning my current credit card with my dad. They said they wanted more of a credit history.
So I asked them the age-old question "How do I build my own credit history if I can't get a credit card from my own bank?". They told me to look elsewhere.
So I'm hoping you guys can help with some advise and/or tips on where I can go from here or set some expectations for me. Here is my banking history, all with KeyBank:

• Opened up a joint "Hassle-free" debit account with my dad at age 16, converted it to be sole owner at age 18.
• Opened up a joint "Key Cashback" credit card with my dad at age 18, I use it occasionally for big and small purchases and it always has been paid off in full without fees. (I suspect this is the main factor towards my credit score, but I'm not sure).
• Opened up a joint "Key Smart Checking" Account at age 18 to be used as sort of a "college fund" for rent and textbooks and that sort of thing.
  
• No debt/loans, was lucky enough to get a full-tuition scholarship for college
  

I need to pay a lawyer for a traffic ticket and had some christmas/bday money saved up over the years so I paid them half of the $1,500 and need to pay them the rest by the end of the month. They said they don't do any kind of payment plans. I can't tell my parents or ask for money from my friends, so I gotta do it myself. I start a good engineering internship next week, but my first check won't come in time to pay the laywer.
I figured a good short term solution could be my own credit card, where I can take advantage of the intro 0% APR rates where I can use my internship money to pay off the lawyer charge almost immediately. Then I could use the card regularly to build a bit of credit history. Unfonunetly, my own bank denying me a card threw me off and now I'm scrambling.
I have a great credit score, but I wanted to know if I should even bother applying for other cards if my own bank wouldn't give me one.
My main questions or concerns:

• I don't mind my credit score going down a little bit if I apply for a credit card and get accepted, but if I don't get accepted then it will have been a complete waste, should I even bother?
• Are there any other non-sleazy ways to get a small loan or cash advance? Its only $750.
• IF I do find a credit card that I get accepted into, would I even get it in time to use it?
• IF I did get it in time and I can use it, what if my credit limit was only $1,000 or $1,500? Would using $750 of that limit be a huge deal?

I am currently looking at the American Express Blue Cash Everyday Card, and some other similar ones. Hoping to hear some ideas/advice in the comments. If you think I'm hopeless, you can let me know but please be nice about it, I'm just doing my best.

I remember when the internet used to be seen as a convenience. This is no longer the case, and doing literally anything on it at this point is like pulling teeth. The entire internet has been redesigned to protect the absolute lowest common denominator, people who probably shouldn't even be able to use the internet in the first place. Types who will give blatant scammers typing in broken english all of their passwords, download random phishing files, etc. and instead of shaming them into learning, tech people have decided to destroy the internet.
Every single website has 2 factor, sometimes 3 or 4 factor authentication, you have to download individual apps for so many accounts, you constantly have to change passwords and make them increasingly "Unique", so it's genuinely impossible to keep track of them unless you keep a list, which just ends you back up at square one for security. I have four authentication apps on my phone, I've had to change my passwords on multiple student accounts sometimes 6 times a year, and since most websites do this password tracking becomes a clusterfuck and one solitary mistake is enough to send you down a tech support rabbithole nightmare.
Not only that but websites in general just do not function on a basic level, very frequently. I have been incredibly busy with job applications, scholarships, student loans, and registering for classes, and using every single website has been absolute torture. College board had a bug that blocked progress on sending SAT scores for 2 months, because it required me to click an option that didn't exist. Why did it take that long!? The PHEEA grant website (Which is extremely important) was literally "Under maintenance" for around a month, and I checked the website 3 times a day for that length. My student portal is littered with broken links, as was the last one I transferred from, and there are constant awful design decisions that clutter the website and make it incredibly difficult to navigate. There are 3 different passwords and 2 different authentication apps I've had to download to use it, and I forgot to write down my "alternative pin" which is, for a reason god himself only knows, the only way to register for classes, so now I have to call the IT department and recover it, because there isn't an option to do that. Why does this site need multiple passwords?? Why do I even need an "alternative pin"???
I just don't understand why this amazing miracle of technology has to be completely ruined to protect people who are probably going to accidentally walk into traffic or fall out of a window anyway. I don't want or need to have 3 different apps to authenticate student websites that a hacker might get into - what are they gonna do, pay my loans?? Register me for classes??? What is the point? Why do I have to spend several minutes going through apps and emails and my text messages to get into everything? Why are websites consistently broken or poorly designed and they take over a month to get fixed in almost every case?
I've adapted to this by exclusively calling places to place appointments, or figure out questions, just because the internet is so awful now. It doesn't feel even remotely reliable or convenient and the constant airtight security and 2 factor authentication on the website for something innocuous like the goddamned fucking Walmart site or my Student Loan account just makes me not want to log in in the first place. Honestly I feel like a boomer but it makes life so much easier. Has anyone else noticed this?

Signed up for June LSAT and realized my target school does not have spring admissions so I have far more time to study and prepare to take the test at a far later date.
This would be my first LSAT test and due to extraneous life events I have not studied much. I will have the time before later test dates to study and presumably score far higher.
Should I just take the June LSAT for the experience, as I don’t believe I can get a refund at this point, or should I withdraw?
Not sure how much this would affect my application, and would like some advice. Eating the lost $200 is doable for me, so that isn’t an issue. Thanks.

I recently received a scholarship to cover LSAT and law school application fees. However, to receive the funds I have to participate in a prep course over the summer. Does anyone have any recommendations for affordable, online prep courses (either live sessions or video-style courses)?

Hey everyone! I applied for Bsc in Cyber Security for Sep 2024 intake and got the conditional offer letters a few weeks ago. Since I am an international student, it would not be possible to study here at such a high cost and hence I applied for this scholarship program before the set deadline.
I have not set any priority or insurance choice yet in my UCAS application because I can only study here if I get at least 50% scholarship otherwise I will have to look for other universities.
Now that I have not made a choice yet in my UCAS application, will this have any effect on my scholarship decision? And will I be notified of the scholarship decision before 6th June? (UCAS deadline for choosing a university)

Genuinely shocked by CMU waitlist because former admissions officer loved my personal and my supps. Was probably due to lack of insane math talent (displayed on apps that is).
Didn’t really get huge aid from anywhere but was able to cover most of the cost through existing savings and external scholarships (apply for lots of them, especially local ones!!!!)
Start early!! Going EA was super helpful. If you need to miss a school assignment or 2, you can make that up. Sometimes to have to have to wager your present for the sake of your future. This process can really suck at times but it’s manageable in the end.

I am new PhD candidate. Let me start from the beginning. I saw an advertisement about full scholarship with monthly allowance. I applied for it and then i has an interview with the supervisor. During the interview the supervisor mentioned that it doesn't cover the tuition and visa fees. I had a long think about it decided to proceed with offer.
After i proceed with university enrollment, visa application, and arrived to the country i am going to phd in it. I had a meeting with my supervisor. He gave me more details about the grant which is the idea of his friend for industrial field (not academic) and he offered me to be involved in some projects so that I can get data from these projects and use them for my PhD. However, the scope of work on these projects are not related to grant and phd scope. In another word, I'll be working on these projects in exchange of data. My supervisor mentioned that if i work with the company, maybe I'll some allowance but not guaranteed. I accepted informally, oral acceptance. Now i am working from the office. The industrial partner told me that he promised my SV that I'll not be involved in other projects except these where i can get data from. He said I'll not pay you as you get paid by "scholarship", but in case you couldn't finish your PhD within the grant project period. I'll hire you and pay to finish your PhD. However, you will work in other projects too. He thinks this is fair.
Also, as it is his idea and "no one can get this idea except him because he has very long experience in industry". He is willing to give the privilege to be the first author in 2 papers that i am going to write. And I'll be the 3rd author for the remaining papers which I'll be writing too 😑.two papers as first author are the requirements of the university.
I don't know what to do now. I think they trying to use me and take advantage of me. I'll appreciate any advice from you

so my AIR is 624 and obc nc CR is 109. Im hopeful for getting the top 4 campuses due to my category and since im going to be away from my city, my parents find the cost of living too expensive and wanted to know about scholarships offered. i researched about the sarthak scheme but is only applicable for parents with annual income <4 lakhs which is not the case for mine. Alumni here. My sister missed the scholarship applications deadline, so I'm thinking if it's better for her to take a gap year and just apply for scholarship when the next school year admission starts.
Might be a dumb question, but I genuinely don't know. Will she still be eligible for incoming freshmen scholarships if she took a gap year after SHS? She's from a different school btw. Hope someone here knows 😭

Hi! I usually love watching or reading content posted by previous scholars, but I can't seem to find any MEXT grantees who have either written blogs or YouTube channels talking about and showing their experience with the MEXT scholarship. I can find a lot talking about how to apply, how to fill the application forms and all of that, but not about the actual living and studying in Japan experience.
I just wanted to ask for recommendations if you guys post this type of content or like anyone who does. Thanks!

I have studied for five years at IE with a dual bachelor, one of them being a bachelor of Law. I can tell you that the law school is the shittest people out there. Do not choose IE for law studies. It is completely a waste of your money and time. A lot of rich brats and "professors" that do not know how to teach. In case of unforeseen circumstances, they have no compassion. For example, during COVID they remade the teaching which resulted in less lectures and more self-taught through groupworks, while requesting the same tutition fee from us. This resulted in a spike of students suffering from anxiety and stress. Coupled with having economic struggles (the few of us on scholarship) they did not care a shit for.
The LLB office is notorious for its rude behaviour in IE and they do live up to that. Being a class representative was so draining that I quit after 3 years of constant fighting with them. The worst, however, is their constant misunderstandings that cause delays, frustrations and even fuck up your receiving grades for other applications.
