And shockingly, I'm at peace with it. I gave everything I had to the challenge, and that's what's important to me. And if my Season Four sisters had some nicer looks for me to work with, maybe I could've done better. Just kidding! But honestly...where were the silks and chiffons? Tiwa: I was hoping for a miracle, but I can't be mad about it when everyone brought it at the level they did. I'm really inspired to be around performers like you. 🏁 Tiwa CF: There's major imposter syndrome going on. Any good critique I get, it feels like it is going to a totally different person. But any criticism, it feels like a shot to the heart and it's all I can focus on. Unieke: This whole group is a dream to be part of. All of us...absolutely sickening. And Tiwa, I'm not about to let you forget that! Tiwa: Thank you, really. 🏁 Tiwa CF: These queens have pulled me back from the edge too many times to count at this point. I'm not someone who would ever be pressed about not winning a design challenge. But it's like my mind is reaching out to find anything bad to cling onto. gtGIRL: Congratulations to our winners, Anthyy and Zodya! Zodya: Thank you, thank you! Anthyy: Did it feel like All Stars all over again? Zodya: Maybe just a bit! gtGIRL: First one to two wins, I would tip my hat to you if I was wearing one. I've never been in this position before, but I can feel more eyes on me than ever. The power is slightly delicious, but very scary at the same time. It's like a chamoy pickle in a sense. Zodya: Anthyy, how did it feel to get the win? Anthyy: Amazing!! Oop, lemme compose myself. Nope I can't, it was just amazing! Tiwa: You can finally take a deep breath now and relax. Anthyy: These fingers are all sore, but worth it for this look. 🏁 Anthyy CF: It's real cute to have fun during the challenges. But that feeling when you put your whole puss into the challenge and win, it's a diva moment! Tiwa: The level of detail just blew me away. Anthyy: They say take one thing off, but I put ten more things on and made sure it was all in the right place. Joining me on the judging panel tonight is a drag artist who is bewitchingly talented, Hex! Hex Guest Judging Look Micro: Hex, welcome back! Hex: Thanks for having me, it's always loads of fun. Micro: You know a few things about creating a work of art. What are you looking for in these looks? Hex: Take the inspiration and add your own twist to it. Make sure your own style shines through. Micro: And when you look that sickening, I think it's wise to take your advice! Now, you ready to get started? Hex: Let's do it! Micro: Earlier today, the queens were asked to work in two groups and put together their own panel style segment for the revealing new show, "Black Table Talk". And on the runway, category is..."Work of Art"! -------------- "Bad Juju" by Jujubee pulses throughout the studio as the queens begin to strut the runway Tiwa: Inspired by the iconic The Persistence of Memory painted by Salvador Dali I have taken the clocks and turned them into actual pieces or ART! The liquified art has moulded itself on my body creating a sculpture fit for the next fixture in the Modern Art Museum! Tiwa Runway Contessa: Miss Micro called for a work of art? I said let me bring the piece right onto the runwayyy! This look is a fashion representation of the work by Gustav Klimt. He worked mainly with the colour gold and focused a lot on having a female subject... guess it's good a biological woman is wearing this right now, huh? This runway look is so grand and glamorous but also artsy and camp. Those are the two elements I try to combine in my drag so this is one of my favourite runways to date. Contessa Runway Moof: This look inspired "Kanagawa oki nami ura", a very famous Japanese print, dated between 1830 and 1832, made by Katsushika Hokusai. I chose to incorporate this into an outfit by adapting a Japanese yukata, and combining it with the flows of the print's vicious waves, the way they flow all around. There is even a cute boat in the waves of the hair, creating a sparkly wake through this hair art. I chose to appreciate this artwork and fashion piece because I find them to be very beautiful and a respectful way to portray the beauty of Japanese culture. Moof Runway Unieke: For this work of art runway, I wanted to stay very to who I am inside and give some love to my inner child. So this piece is a beautifully Lopunny inspired piece paying tribute to the Pokémon art style. Lopunny is nothing but high femininity and BODY! Literally me! You thought it was over!? Yeah SIKE! Open your mouth babe, it’s opened from GAGGING! This beautiful train pays so much homage to the Japanese video game designer, illustrator, manga artist, and director of Pokémon, Ken Sugimori!! The drawings on this outfit shows off his Gen 1 Art style which holds a very special place in my heart. I am so happy about this piece. It’s different, campy, but yet still so me! Unieke Runway Zodya: For the Work of Art runway, I am inspired by two famous artists/art styles: the Jingdezhen white and blue porcelain pottery of early China and…myself! This look is actually a remake of the very first look I’ve ever drawn for a competitive org, that being FDR5’s premiere. And ever since that challenge, I’ve been terrorizing runways for just under 2 years, with that very first win proudly over my chest as a medallion! The armor pieces are made to be inspired by old porcelain, with intricate blue and white patterns and designs all across my body. Oh, and what’s better with porcelain than tea! Bitch I am OVERFLOWING, and exuberant that I was able to recreate this fantasy and make it even bigger and better than ever before! Wanna take a sip, bitch? Zodya Runway Anthyy: Tonight's runway catgeory in my eyes is a perfect opportunity to do something you know i always love to do - represent my culture. One of our best polish paintings is "Girl with chrysanthemums" by one and only Olga Boznańska. But i have a personal story with this painting. It's in my homecity,. actually in a museum very near from where i live. And when i was very little my grandma took me to see it with me. And then in the little souvenir shop she bought me a little notebook with girl with chrysanthemums on the cover, and that was my first sketchboook ever. All the first anthyy creations were created there. i still have this notebook its very near to my heart and now and then i sketch a bit in it to see my own growth. But when it comes to this look you can see this is a very diffrent than a lot of my fashions. All because of the style, the bucket, the template, the line art it all went to trash this week and i showed you pure anthy uysing the acricic paint brush - the same as Olga in her original painting from 1894. I am the little girl from the painting literally, hair mug DOWN. I just did not put her in an ufgly potato sac and instead ina very cute little dress. Contessa: There are certain challenges where you feel like it's just not your week. I thought that might be the case here. I try not to get too emotional, I think it causes premature aging. But I let go tonight and it really resonated. This week will always hold a special place in my heart. 🏁 Contessa CF: People can get on my case about being "too confident". This was a week where I didn't feel all that confident. I learned a lot about myself and my capabilities. And for me, that means a lot. Unieke: Oh, 100%. - I do development and QA work at a large tech consultancy. We get AWS exam vouchers, but must show that we completed a relevant course before receiving one.
- I used GCP in a previous dev job, so I know how to use platform's UI for doing specific tasks but didn't bother to learn cloud theory (one thing I regret).
- Amazon Cloud Quest for the Cloud Practitioner hands-on activities and some trivia questions from shooting drones.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials for the theory and course completion confirmation. While it doesn't cover all the smaller details, it does cover the major details that I can build my notes off. I also like how the course uses a coffee shop as an analogy for the cloud.
- AWS documentation, whitepapers, and the service pages (be it its overview, features, or pricing) in both English and German.
- Kanani Nirav's practice exams #1-10 for uncovering patchable knowledge gaps.
- Organizing notes by exam guide domain and then task statement, before using the "knowledge of" and "skills in" bullet points to understand which concepts to include for each statement. For example, all of my notes under "Understand the benefits of and strategies for migration to the AWS Cloud" (1.3) cover the Cloud Adoption Framework and its action plan, the 6 "R's" of migration, the Snow transfer device family (Snowcone, Snowball, Snowmobile), the Amazon Transfer family, and misc migration-and-transfer related services such as DataSync.
- Tracking my practice exam attempts and answers. For incorrect answers, I noted the correct answer and (in some cases) why my answer was incorrect, such as "Use Config for auditing AWS change management, not CloudWatch". I also noted the corresponding concept(s) (in our case Config and CloudWatch) in the "topics to revisit" section, so I can re-study those concepts before taking another practice exam (and if applicable, adding more information to my notes). I repeated this process daily until I hit mid-80s the day before my exam.

So I am on notice period and it ends in another 20 days. I have no offer in hand right now, nor I am looking for anything atm. I am thinking of taking a 2 months break because my health is now fked up.
The company is small and has around 10 people for all software needs.
My designation is still MLE but all my hardwork is recognised and appreciated. I have a good knowledge of all the processes and also handle a few big clients data requirements directly. Basically a lot of trust is put upon me.
Now coming to the rewards for my hardwork over the last 2-3 years: None. NIL. Not even a single Amazon voucher.
Only reward that I have gotten is a 20% raise last year and a ton of lip service.
Now that I have resigned, they have requested quite a few times to stay back etc etc.
They are now offering me a tech lead role for the whole engineering team now as my last working day is nearing.
I am being rewarded with more work and responsibility for my hardwork.
Is this normal? What are your perspectives here as fellow Dev's.
My Stack: Python, AWS, vanilla JS (templates)
Other skills: better than average team management skills and good communication skills.

My Background
I won't go into my educational background as it's irrelevant here, but I have around 4 yoe in ML and backend development. 3 years at the present company and I have around 14lpa CTC fully work from home.The situation
So from the past 1-2 years I have picked up a ton of responsibilities for the organization and I have a good hold on the total backend and ML pipelines of the company. I am currently managing 3 people under me.The company is small and has around 10 people for all software needs.

First time I've taken an exam at a test center. Pleasant experience all round decent screen (both size and resolution). Staff were helpful, no rules on bathroom breaks. Tea & Coffee available beforehand. - There will be direct reports involved, with the role itself reporting to a Vice President (VP reports to CFO).

Here goes: been looking for additional work to supplement my pay as a university lecturer (because, you know, being alive is expensive) and I came across this job creating coursework.
I thought, why not—good remote money for doing something I already kind of do, why not, right? Guy DMs me on LinkedIn (first red flag) and is basically like "we'd love to work with you, here's next steps." We DM back and forth, negotiating pay because it's going to go through PayPal (second red flag) and I'm going to foot the fee and taxes (standard contractor sh*t, as many of us probably know), but he seems to have no problem that I want extra hourly money to cover this more or less (third red flag). He sends me a contract again via LinkedIn, and by this point I'm like...maybe I should vet this dude (some of us are a little slow on the uptake, you know).
So I reach out to the company and am like..."hey, does this dude actually work for you" but professional, of course. And they reply with an indignant "of course he does...why would you even ask that." So I'm like, alright, maybe it's legit. That would be rad.
So here's the thing: the contract says I get paid an hourly rate for course development. According to the Edioak Agreement: "The Instructor shall be compensated at an hourly rate of $85/hour for the time spent on course design and recording." And according to the Payment Terms: "The total advance payment amount will be specified in the instructional contract and is based on the agreed compensation rate and estimated hours for course development and recording."
I feel like that's pretty clear, and so I complete this silly lesson planning template thing (essentially, it's a syllabus) they send me (marking my hours on an invoice) and send it back to him (via an email he has now given me). He tells it's not right and to fix a few things, so I do, and resend him all the materials. This has taken me about 2.5 hours of work at this point, which I've been tracking (I've worked as a contractor several times before—I know the drill).
Without saying anything, he sends me $122 via PayPal and then says "great, time to complete the course. You have the money." And I was like...hold up. I'm supposed to be getting paid for course development, and I haven't told you how many hours this is supposed to take. So I ask him for clarification via email so it's more traceable, and he comes back with: oh, because this is a specific course we're only going to pay you for instructional hours, but if you design other courses later we'll pay you for course development.
And so I send him a very professional email that says I'm not interested in selling my IP for such little money. I will consider the money you've given me as payment for the syllabus, which is yours to develop as you will, but I won't be working with you further.
He then sends me this paternalistic email calling me unprofessional and unethical, telling me that I should return the money. In a follow-up email, I quote the agreement as well as his own words back to him (I admit, I'm a little petty) and send him an invoice—you know, for posterity.
So I've accepted the money and then someone else (who I've never met) disputes it through PayPal. I upload the contract to PayPal and explain the situation, but ultimately they side with the "buyer" aka this dude.
Initially, PayPal also slaps me with a $15 fee for the dispute, so I call them and explain the situation (to a human) and they offer a voucher for the fee. I've reported Edioak to PayPal because I'm suspicious that they have pulled this sh*t with other people but at this point, it really feels like a live-and-you-learn type situation.
So hopefully, my life lessons might help someone at the very least know what they're getting into with this company. I also think that companies (if they have to exist) should be shamed for employing shady business practices—to be clear: companies, not people. Hello, fellow tech enthusiasts! Since my first computer in 1995, my interest in technology has continually grown. I’ve been in my current role for 14 years and was ready for a change, so I decided to pivot to IT.
CompTIA A+ Certification
After two weeks of intensive study, I passed both Core 1 and Core 2 in late February and early March. Wanting to continue with Network+ and Security+, I looked for cost-effective ways to continue.
Ohio’s IMAP
My search led me to Ohio's Individual Microcredential Assistance Program (IMAP), which offers free training in various specialties, including IT. I chose Tiffin University for the program. After contacting them through the email provided on the IMAP site and completing some forms, I enrolled in their IT Security and Network Technician program through IMAP. Tiffin University outsources this program to MedCerts.
MedCerts and ACI Learning
MedCerts sets you up with an adviser that helps you with the program. They first set up a profile on their training site, which is where I began my Network+ and Security+ training on March 4th. They utilize ACI Learning for the course content, which includes access to their extensive virtual labs featuring Linux, Windows, Windows Servers, and Cisco routers and switches—ideal for someone with limited Cisco experience like myself.
Exam Preparation
The program is module-based; each must be completed before moving to the next. Although the recommendation is to dedicate 2-4 hours per day, some labs can be completed more quickly. ACI Learning content is pretty good. My only complaint is the inability to speed up video playback—I usually prefer watching at 1.5x speed.
Xvoucher
After completing the modules, Xvoucher handles the voucher distribution. You must pass their Network+ practice test with 75% or higher (you can take it as many times as needed) to earn a voucher for the CompTIA exam. Once you pass, they provide you with the voucher and you can take schedule your exam with PearsonVUE, if you fail it, you have to go back to Xvoucher and retake the practice test and pass now with 80% and if you do, they will issue you another voucher (not sure what happens if you fail it again :))
Resume and Interview Prep
MedCerts also offers resume building help. They assign a "Career Coach" to assist in creating or improving your resume. The original template I was using wasn’t ATS-friendly. They also provide access to Hiration, which offers resume tips and templates. Another useful feature is their interview preparation tool, which captures your video to simulate an interview and provides feedback on aspects like eye contact and response times.

CompTIA A+ Certification
After two weeks of intensive study, I passed both Core 1 and Core 2 in late February and early March. Wanting to continue with Network+ and Security+, I looked for cost-effective ways to continue.
Ohio’s IMAP
My search led me to Ohio's Individual Microcredential Assistance Program (IMAP), which offers free training in various specialties, including IT. I chose Tiffin University for the program. After contacting them through the email provided on the IMAP site and completing some forms, I enrolled in their IT Security and Network Technician program through IMAP. Tiffin University outsources this program to MedCerts.
MedCerts and ACI Learning
MedCerts sets you up with an adviser that helps you with the program. They first set up a profile on their training site, which is where I began my Network+ and Security+ training on March 4th. They utilize ACI Learning for the course content, which includes access to their extensive virtual labs featuring Linux, Windows, Windows Servers, and Cisco routers and switches—ideal for someone with limited Cisco experience like myself.
Exam Preparation
The program is module-based; each must be completed before moving to the next. Although the recommendation is to dedicate 2-4 hours per day, some labs can be completed more quickly. ACI Learning content is pretty good. My only complaint is the inability to speed up video playback—I usually prefer watching at 1.5x speed.
Xvoucher
After completing the modules, Xvoucher handles the voucher distribution. You must pass their Network+ practice test with 75% or higher (you can take it as many times as needed) to earn a voucher for the CompTIA exam. Once you pass, they provide you with the voucher and you can take schedule your exam with PearsonVUE, if you fail it, you have to go back to Xvoucher and retake the practice test and pass now with 80% and if you do, they will issue you another voucher (not sure what happens if you fail it again :))
Resume and Interview Prep
MedCerts also offers resume building help. They assign a "Career Coach" to assist in creating or improving your resume. The original template I was using wasn’t ATS-friendly. They also provide access to Hiration, which offers resume tips and templates. Another useful feature is their interview preparation tool, which captures your video to simulate an interview and provides feedback on aspects like eye contact and response times.

A little backstory. My parents are both seniors, with my dad filing for retirement later this year. His income is going to drop heavily since his contract for this current job ends in June. Unfortunately, he never really planned or saved up anything for retirement and it's already starting to bite him in the ass. My mom is currently looking for work but she does not have enough credits currently to file for retirement. It's a long story but their CPA fucked them over by convincing my dad to not file for my mom separately and just to combine the money she made into his tax filings. My dad is a South Asian immigrant who held onto the social cultures for too long to realize it screwed him over (the whole men should work, women shouldn't need to). I am doing my best to help them look for financial assistance and jobs, built a resume for my mom and gave my dad a template to fill out with his work experience (he still hasn't filled it out due to work due dates). Luckily enough, the city we live in announced they're going to open up Section 8 Voucher applications this year so I'm trying to stay on top of that for whenever they announce the official date.

I've gotta vent a bit and seriously wonder if it's just me noticing this. Has anyone else felt like service in Singapore has taken a nosedive? And I'm talking about even before our world got flipped upside down by the pandemic.
It's like everywhere you turn, whether it's getting your stuff delivered or trying to get some help from a customer service representative, everything just felt... disappointing.
Firstly, the overall standards of service and delivery have become quite subpar, in my opinion. From the terrible quality of the items, especially after what it seems like a hoodwinked advertising to the quality of their service standards. It feels like businesses are more interested in seeing you as a "resolved case" rather than ensuring you're genuinely satisfied with your product or service or your issue is thoroughly addressed.
When it comes to the public healthcare system, it's even more apparent to me cuz not everyone can afford private specialists. There seem to be significant gaps in their management or the way they handle their processes. And those specialists we used to have, did show genuine care and attention back in the 2000s, they seem like a rare breed now. What happened to that warmth and connection? There's really no quality at all these days. The good specialists have all gone into private consulting. I really hate dealing with those NUS students, they have no feelings at all.
Feedback and complaints about these issues often go ignored. It's as if once you've voiced your concerns, they disappear into a void with no acknowledgment or meaningful action taken in response. All template answers with no real genuine resolve.
At the same time, the rise of these app-based service providers (e.g., Grab, Food Panda, SendHelp, Lala Move) has introduced a new layer of detachment. While these platforms offer convenience, they also seem to lack above all QUALITY in their delivery, empathy and compassion, especially when things go wrong on their end. Instead of genuine apologies or efforts to rectify mistakes, the go-to solution appears to be compensating customers with vouchers, which feels impersonal and dismissive like "sorry, not sorry - here, have a voucher".
Maybe I'm just looking back with rose-tinted glasses, have you all noticed this too? Or is it just my bad luck? Have any of you felt the same?
Would love to get some feedback especially from those working in the service industry.

When I create a bill payment, include bill credits, and apply them to vendor bills such that the entire vendor bill amount is credited, it gets omitted from the check voucher PDF i.e. the credited vendor bill does not appear under the check.apply list in the advanced PDF template.
Is there a way to make the check PDF display all the transactions I select when I pay the vendor?
I managed to come up with a rather convoluted freemarker code/logic to do this (getting the credited vendor bills thru the check.credit list) but I was wondering if there's an easier way to do this, like a setting/configuration/preference I might have missed so that I don't resort to such an overkill approach.

I was asked along with 2 others to move to the new company. Because we started at the "ground floor" of the new company we were offered more responsibility (teamleader of my department if new people join) and a bonus package (uncapped, 8% of yearly salary x 0.5-2 performance factor x factor based on company profit). Realistically, a bonus won't be payed for the first 2-3 years while we are in full development.
I was told during the talks about the bonus system that I was supposed to move up from junior to senior. This will be discussed during the next performance review.
Know for my question: should I ask for a raise for the new responsibility and senior title even with the promise of the bonus? How much should I ask for?
I filled the template with my current salary and current conditions, not with the new responsibilities and bonus.
