| My mom bought me a My Heritage DNA test and the results were a bit surprising. Both of my parents are Hispanic and while my skin has always been lighter than my family's, my facial features are undoubtedly Mexican/Hispanic. I wonder if the Irsh/Scottish/Welsh migrated to Mexico to work in the mines. Are you Mexican and did you also receive strange results like these? Hello lovely people! I'm Jonathan - just a guy trying to make a lasting connection. It's not an easy task by any means but I love meeting new people and getting to know them; show me what you've got!
About Me: • I'm a graphic designer that works at a local newspaper. I design newspapers, advertisements, magazines, website stuff! It's a fun job, and I really love the people I work with.
• I've been to over ten countries! Mostly Europe, but some Central America/Mexico mixed in there. I'm Hispanic, and speak both English and Spanish with a touuuuch of German.
• I listen to lots of music. Let's share Spotify playlists! I've got lots of loves - Mac Miller, Bleachers, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Vistas. But that's just the tip of the iceberg!
• I know how to skate! And I've been boxing for a few years, so I'll totally fight you.
• Not really a tv person but I do love Psych, It's Always Sunny - those kind of comedies. Let's start a book club, or plan a fun little movie night! I'm trying to read 30 books this year.
Let me know what you think! Thanks for reading and hey, let's become besties! I'm happy to swap pictures once you're comfortable.

2024.06.07 20:30 SignificantSpirit253 The League of Extraordinary Fictional Gentlemen: CFB 25 Online Dynasty with a D&D Twist (Xbox Series S/X)
We are looking for 13 more users (for a total of 25) to run an online dynasty on Xbox Series S/X.
I'm a (wanna be) creative who loves NCAA Football and is excited for the new game as anyone. Like many people in this subreddit, I like to have head cannon and storylines for my players, assistant coaches, rivals, etc. During the early days of the pandemic, I joined up with an NCAA 14 OD for awhile where most of us made up funny coach names/personalities which we then used as our Discord server names.
As we came up on the new game's release this summer, in my boredom, I went about making up a coaching resume using real teams/players/stats for a two-person dynasty my friend from college and I will be doing. I genuinely had so much fun perusing NAIA, FCS, D2/D3 programs of the last decade or so to create a coherent backstory that I thought it would be fun to set up a bigger dynasty with more D&D character coaches.
For an example of what these would look like for each user, here is the one I'll be using:
Jessie Osteen (Air Raid/Tactician)
2015: Baylor, SA
2016: Texas Tech, GA
2017: Oklahoma, QC
2018: Oklahoma, OA
2019-20: HBU (FCS), OC/QB
2021: Stephenville HS (TX)
2022-23: DeSoto HS (TX)
2024: Sam Houston, OC/QB
Career highlights:
• As the black sheep of the Osteen dynasty, Jesse refused to enroll at Texas (the fam’s fav school), opting instead to go to Texas Tech to drink and shoot feral hogs with his friends for course credit. • Transferred to Baylor as a senior to serve as Student Assistant under Art Briles. • GA under Kliff Kingsbury for 2 years at Texas Tech. Stood next to Patrick Mahomes as he threw for 5000 yds with 53 total TDs in ‘16. • Pissed off the fam even more by going to arch rival Oklahoma. Quality Control then Offensive Analyst for Lincoln Riley at OU in ‘17 and ‘18 working as an assistant QB coach. • 2017 - Baker Mayfield: Heisman, 4900 total yds, 49 TD • 2018 - Kyler Murray: Heisman, 5300 total yds, 54 TDs. • OC at Houston Baptist. In 16 games, Bailey Zappe: 5600 passing yds, 50 TD passes to 16 INTs. In ‘20, lost at Texas Tech by 2. • Took 1st HC job at Stephenville HS in Texas in ‘21. Followed up previous coach's 6-6 record in 2020 with 16-0 perfect season capped off with a 4A Division 1 State Title. • QB Ryder Lambert: 133.4 QBR, 4,275 pass yds, 52 TD-8 INT, 64%; 831 rush yds, 11 TD • WR Coy Eakin: 93 catches, 2,140 rec yds, 31 TD; 231 rush yds, 4 TD (3-star Texas Tech commit) • WR Reece Elston: 94 catches, 1,352 rec yds, 11 TD • HC for national power DeSoto HS in TX. In ‘22 and ‘23, won 6A Division 1 State Titles. • QB DJ Bailey: 7700 pass yds, 98 TD to 6 INT, 600 rush yds, 10 TD in 2 years as starter (3-star Sam Houston State commit) • WR Johntay Cook (‘22 SR season): 85 catches, 1,530 rec yds, 22 TD (4-star Texas commit) • After compiling a 46-2 record and 3 State Titles in 3 years as a TX HS coach, took SHSU OC job and brought Bailey with him Position • Position Specialties: QB, TE • Favorite bands: AC/DC, Guns 'N Roses, Iron Maiden, Olivia Rodrigo • Aliases: El Bandito Gringo, Clit Eastwood, The Wang From Waco, The Prodigal Son, The Big O, The Lakewood Lobo, The Houston Habanero, Art Briles 6.0
Restrictions on coach resume:
• CANNOT be a current IRL FBS/NFL coach OR take on the specific resumes of current IRL FBS/NFL HCs (ex. CANNOT have been the OC at Indiana when Kalen DeBoer was, but CAN be a GA/analyst/position coach under him at that time to say you worked with Michael Penix) • Resume should make sense leading into being a low-level coordinator
I will send each person a list of questions to help them create a dynasty avatar including their fictional coach's name, coaching resume, backstory, personality, etc.) up until the game drops on July 19th. If you have any specific ideas such as the position your coach specializes in, the marquee coaches they have worked undesystem they run, or which NAIA/lower division school they got their start in coaching with, write it down.
Dynasty Rules:
• Heisman difficulty • 6 minute quarters • Custom playbooks are allowed (cheese and game exploits not allowed) • Twice-a-week advance schedule • Start as coordinators with non-P5 programs who had losing records in 2023 (must be AAC, C-USA, MAC, or MWC) • AAC: Charlotte, East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Navy, North Texas, Temple, Tulsa, UAB • C-USA: Florida International, Kennesaw State, Louisiana Tech, MTSU, Sam Houston, UTEP • MAC: Akron, Ball State, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Kent State, Western Michigan • MWC: Colorado State, Hawai'i, Nevada, New Mexico, San Diego State • Additional rules will be discussed/voted on as necessary by the whole squad once more details come out about settings, sliders, etc.
If this sounds like something you want to be a part of, I'd love to hear from you via DM so we can discuss. If you have an idea of how you want to design your coach, great! If not, I will gladly help you figure out the character based on the scheme you're plan on running, position specialties, etc.
On the eve of game's release, we'll have a reveal show via Discord introducing each coach. If there's anyone interested in joining who is also proficient in PhotoShop or AI art, please let me know as that will make our reveal show even better.
Our chatting and user-game coordination will also occur via Discord. Among the features that will make this dynasty unique:
Hall of Fame for user players: At the end of the career of any player on your team who you believe should be immortalized for their achievements on the field, you can nominate them for induction into our HoF to be voted on by all users. A two-thirds majority vote will land that player in our Discord channel HoF.
Annual awards show for user players/teams: On Week 12 of every season, I will send out a Google Form for the nominations of 15 categories like Offensive/Defensive Players of the Year, MVP, and Coach of the Year. At the conclusion of the season, ballots will be sent out (once again via Google Forms), tallied up, and winners revealed in our Awards Show. Winners will be recorded for posterity in another channel within our Discord.
If you're looking for a moderately-paced but active dynasty with a little pizzazz, please DM me with your gamertag, Discord username, and team selection. As the team picks come in, I will edit this post, adding in each one till all slot are filled.
Teams taken: Sam Houston State, Florida International, Hawai’i, Temple, East Carolina, Navy, UTEP, Florida Atlantic, Louisiana Tech, North Texas, Kennesaw State, Ball State

2024.06.07 20:14 Dry-Humor-4161 Notary In Mexico
Hi everyone. I am a U.S. citizen in central Mexico, needing docs notarized, and learned the existing options are to travel 3 hours to Guadalajara to the U.S. consulate (I am in Leon, Gto.) or use a virtual notary online. It made me wonder if there is a rule that states I couldn't myself serve as a U.S. Notary Public for other citizens in my part of Mexico to spare them a journey to Guadalajara, and also offer a better deal than what is available through virtual options. Also, why couldn't I offer "virtual" but from within Mexico? This would not only help me but it would help a lot of other Americans in this part of Mexico. Thanks in advance!

I only had two, so this leaves me with one lone female, who is completely physically healthy. I got them both from petsmart (I know... dont say it) but am now looking for a responsible breeder I can pick up a few more girls from to keep her company.
if any of yall are also in this area, or have better luck online finding mouse breeders around here, please let me know! I don't want to leave her alone for too long.

2024.06.07 06:31 One_Bookkeeper_898 RV living as a young person
Hi, i’m (F20) looking to buy a 5th wheel + truck and start doing RV life. I live in Canada but i’m planning to travel the states and potentially even go to mexico and central america.
The area where I live is extremely expensive and it doesn’t feel worth it to me at all to continue paying to live and getting essential no where (literally and physically)
So I have a couple questions and just looking for general advice regarding this life and how I can make it happen in the best way possible. I don’t have many other options that seem appealing to my lifestyle.
I want to travel often and have been backpacking but i’ve recently adopted a kitten so i’ll have to change my lifestyle. Living with my family is also not an option so this truly seems like my best bet.
- If I buy a 34” 5th wheel is this going to be extremely annoying to move from place to place? I’m planning on primarily boon-docking. I still want to feel like I have a solid home I can do long term so i’m not really wanting to have a tiny TT.
- Is it difficult to meet people, specifically younger people while boon docking and consistently travelling? I am very comfortable being alone and don’t have much trouble making friends, but it seems like there’s potential in this lifestyle where I don’t see other people at all, also because I work completely remotely.
- What are the risks involved with financing an RV? I have a stable job, I would likely do a 5 year term because I want something stable and realiable (still used) and would also finance my truck as well. If I lose my job I will have EI but my question is more if I need to op out of this life for whatever reason how difficult will that be?
- I want to keep it in the best possible condition so I would like to learn how to do small repairs, maintenance myself. I’m also planning to fully renovate before taking off.
- Has anyone ever gone as far as mexico / CA before? If so is it possible in a rig this large?
- How safe is it boon docking on my own as a solo female traveller? Should I get a big dog? I’m pretty confident in myself but if I were to break down or anything am I going to be completely fucked? (I would get realible cell / wifi connection)
- Any other tips / advice for me would be greatly appreciated. In terms of towing, purchasing, boon docking etc. I’ve committed to this direction so please don’t bother telling me it’s not worth it unless you have a solid alternative that is not paying 3 grand a month in rent with money i’ll never see again.
Thank you so much!!!

2024.06.07 04:23 Virgoaquarius91 I miss my cat
My soul cat passed away on April 15th after I made the gut wrenching decision to put her to sleep. I’m crushed and it feels like a bad nightmare I can’t escape. She was diagnosed with mast cell cancer but given a decent diagnosis. It all started with a small bump barely the size of a pimple. I had scheduled a full senior exam for her and found it a week prior to her scheduled appointment. I was not concerned but she had some health issue in the months prior dealing with her ears but nothing I was majorly concerned about. She had been diagnosed with an aural humoral which is essentially an ear bruise/swelling from shaking. I had her seen immediately and it was attributed to an ear infection which she had been treated for. It was later determined she did have ear mites which likely came from the new kitten I had adopted. She was treated and all was well. However at her senior exam I pointed out the bump and another larger one was found on her hind leg hidden under her fur. A fine needle aspirate was completed for both and found nothing concerning. I was instructed to watch it. In my research mast cell tumors came up but research said they are often benign in cats and the fna did not find mast cells so I was relieved. However the bump continued to grow and another small lump developed nearby. Concerned I took her back in where I was told the only option was a biopsy and removal. However she was born with a heart murmur making anesthesia risky. They recommended an echocardiogram before moving forward with the surgery. Of course the wait time for the cardiologist was months but I scheduled the appointment and signed up for the wait list. She was able to be seen earlier and the test came back as a benign heart murmur! A huge relief but more bumps appeared before her appointment and after getting a second opinion and another fna they were confirmed to be mast cells and I was referred to an oncologist to do staging. Removal at this point was up in the air since she had developed more and more bumps. This was all in the span of 2 or so months. However everyone assured me they were often benign and not aggressive in cats. I waited anxiously to see the oncologist and was informed it could potentially be internal since she did have vomiting. After expensive tests and an ultrasound guided biopsy it was confirmed in her spleen and abdominal lymph nodes. Surgery was the best option with a generally good prognosis of 2 or more years. The spleen and lymph node would be removed. She had surgery very quickly after and began to act like her old self with some mild side effects such as constipation. I was assured by the oncologist that she was doing well as she was seen monthly for check ups. However more bumps appeared and I was told this can happen bc removing the spleen which is often the central zone can cause the remaining mast cells to freak out as they die. Steroids were prescribed and chemo would be our next option to manage the bumps if they did not dissipate. Her last oncology appointment was March 27th where she was given a scan. While anxious I was reassured by the oncologist that she was in a safe space. Looking back I think a small part of me knew that wasnt true. I was diligent in giving her meds every day. Switching her diet and watching her constantly. I took her in at the first sign of any problem and was always told she was doing well. Her constipation after surgery continued to be an issue but she was prescribed lactulose to manage it. However the weekend of April 15th I noticed she was vomiting again and constipated. Fearing an obstruction I took her to the er ver for X-rays and was told well she has cancer so she’s sick and constipated. She was given an enema, and antinasua meds. They told me to bring her back if she didn’t improve the next day. I stayed up with her all night and she began refusing food- at this point i knew something was seriously wrong and I took her back in the morning for blood tests. I prepared myself for something serious like pancreatitis since surgery had required them to remove a small piece of her pancreas. However I received much worse news. Her kidneys were failing and the cancer had spread to her kidneys with tumors shown on the X-ray. I was flabbergasted bc this was not mentioned the day before. They wanted to keep her overnight but said she may pass before the next day. I chose to give her fluids and bring her home so I could have one last night with her and scheduled an emergencty appt with her oncologist the next morning. I was in disbelief she had just been seen 3 weeks prior and her scans were clear. I slept with her the whole night but she was barely there. Refusing food water and laying on the ground. She was also beginning to feel cold. The oncologist confirmed the news the next day saying in her ten years dealing with this disease she has only seen in travel to the kidneys once. We could try getting her out of kidney failure by admitting her to the icu for days to weeks at $2000 a day. However chemo was the only option and that would likely send her back into kidney failure once we started. She was concerned that no matter what we did the cancer was so aggressive and not behaving normally. To make matters worse I was scheduled to leave for Mexico in two days. I did not want that to influence by decision or even the money but I had maxed out my credit card at $8000 for the previous tests appointments and surgery. My mom was with me and I had planned to cancel my trip but the oncologist told me her chances of any meaningful recovery were very small. I felt like I couldn’t breathe, like this couldn’t be happening. I had her for the past 12 years and couldnt imagine life without her. They brought her in and I knew I couldn’t put her through anymore she was so weak and wanted to rest. I put her to sleep that day. All in all 7 months from the time I find the first bump. I never imagined that in a million years. The oncologist felt so bad she paid for the cremation. I don’t blame her she was a wonderful vet I just think her cancer was the worst form it could be. However since that day I’ve lived with perpetual guilt-constantly questioning if it was the right thing to do. My mind goes over every decision and how I could have prevented this. I’m not sure the point of this post. Everyone tells me it’s not my fault and that I did more than most people would but I can’t seem to forgive myself. I’m angry at the universe and myself for not being able to save her. I just miss her so much. If you read all of this thank you for listening. Losing a pet is harder than anyone can imagine. If you are in this thread I’m sure you understand. I’ll spend the rest of my life missing you Moo ❤️

A couple of outliers and interesting tidbits that I noticed:
- The new FBS schools dominated the top ten. This is expected but I thought worth mentioning.
- A few intense rivalries tied which I found hilarious. Ohio State v Michigan, Georgia v Georgia Tech, and BYU v Utah all had the same vote totals.
- A few underperformers were Oklahoma, BYU, and Utah, and to a lesser extent, Texas A&M. I expected a much better result for these schools considering the amount of flairs I see of them both in this subreddit and in /CFB. I suspect if I ran this poll again I would not get this same result for these schools.
- The only big overperformer I noticed was West Virginia. Did not expect them as high up as they are.
For your viewing pleasure, I have also compiled the top and bottom 10 for both P5 and G5 into separate tables:
Top 10 P5 | Votes | Percentage | Top 10 G5 | Votes | Percentage |
Nebraska | 94 | 6.68% | Appalachian State | 198 | 14.06% |
Arizona State | 85 | 6.04% | Kennesaw State | 156 | 11.08% |
Notre Dame | 78 | 5.54% | Coastal Carolina | 139 | 9.87% |
Virginia Tech | 76 | 5.40% | James Madison | 125 | 8.88% |
Florida | 75 | 5.33% | Hawaii | 116 | 8.24% |
Oregon | 73 | 5.18% | Army | 106 | 7.53% |
West Virginia | 71 | 5.04% | Wyoming | 91 | 6.46% |
Michigan | 70 | 4.97% | Sam Houston | 86 | 6.11% |
Ohio State | 70 | 4.97% | Tulane | 83 | 5.89% |
Texas | 70 | 4.97% | Air Force | 81 | 5.75% |
- Top 10 P5 are at first dominated by what will be popular rebuilds. Then after the large rebuilds the big blue blood brands come in. Still confused as to how West Virginia is here lol. Cool uniforms maybe?
- I chose to include Notre Dame in the P5 list. I know they aren't in a conference but it just felt weird skipping over them.
- Like previously mentioned, a lot of the new FBS schools cracked the top 10 for G5. App State is really no surprise at #1 overall
- Two academies cracked the G5 top ten. The third, Navy, did not come close with only 64 votes. I wonder why.
Bottom 10 P5 | Votes | Percentage | Bottom 10 G5 | Votes | Percentage |
BYU | 18 | 1.28% | Northern Illinois | 17 | 1.21% |
Utah | 18 | 1.28% | Tulsa | 19 | 1.35% |
Oklahoma | 20 | 1.42% | Troy | 21 | 1.49% |
Northwestern | 22 | 1.56% | Western Michigan | 21 | 1.49% |
Baylor | 23 | 1.63% | Toledo | 23 | 1.63% |
Mississippi State | 24 | 1.70% | Bowling Green | 24 | 1.70% |
Illinois | 26 | 1.85% | Fresno State | 24 | 1.70% |
Iowa State | 26 | 1.85% | Louisiana - Lafayette | 24 | 1.70% |
Purdue | 27 | 1.92% | Louisiana Tech | 24 | 1.70% |
Kansas State | 28 | 1.99% | Miami (OH) | 24 | 1.70% |
- Holy War for the bottom lol.
- On a serious note, like mentioned previously, seeing Oklahoma, BYU, and Utah down here was not expected. Maybe the Utah schools are overrepresented online, but as a Texan, Oklahoma has a massive fan and alumni base down here. And with the Pokes getting over double the votes I really expected Oklahoma to have more.
- Baylor I suppose I could have seen being higher. Players seem to like rebuilds, and Baylor seems to be entering a rebuilding phase. In addition to some cool uniforms and a nice stadium this school should have probably gotten more votes.
- Nothing really to note on the G5 side except for Northern Illinois. When the last NCAA football game came out, they were on top of the G5 world. Now they are absolutely dead last. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
Finally, the last way I'm going to sort this is by conference. Also included will be the conference's vote total compared to all total votes by percentage. I'm not going to include the percentage next to the teams anymore, mainly because I've already done it and I'm lazy.
For reference on the "Percent of entire total" row. There were a total of 6551 votes casted throughout the whole poll. So I am just dividing the total conference votes by this number to find out what percentage of votes went to the conference as a whole.

- Biggest winners are the Big10 and the Sun Belt. While the Big10 is more balanced, both are carried by the high echelon of teams, certainly so for the Sun Belt. The Big10 didn't add much of anything by adding the 4 former Pac-12 schools.
- Biggest loser by far is the MAC and it is not even close. Nobody wants some MACtion apparently.
- Independents killed it as well. Highest votes per team by over 9 votes.
- Remaining Pac-12 schools likely got a bump for their dire situation. Votes per team is quite high in comparison to other conferences.
In conclusion, I reckon most players will start out with their Alma Mater or favorite team. And then (once they've won a few nattys) jump straight into either a P5 rebuild or bringing a G5 team to ultimate glory. But I do want to bring attention to some of the teams that won't be played very often. Why not be unique and different, and give a school a chance you wouldn't normally look twice at? To anyone who is still here thanks for reading! Hopefully this weird week-long obsession of mine has piqued the interest of someone else!
