Going into college applications I was pretty confident, however I’ve been rejected/waitlisted from all but one of the schools I’ve applied to, except for my safety (JMU). This has left me upset and confused, as I’m really left with only one option after being rejected from Penn state and UVA, and waitlisted from Virginia Tech. I’m still waiting on UNC and NC state but now I’m not so sure I can count on those. Did I do something wrong? I’ll list my application stuff below.

This dudes on another level. Let's just put this evolution into perspective. 2012 he sounded generally mediocre, his first real sign of potential to me was 2 Cups Stuffed on 1017 Thug. Then Stoner dropped (and before that some features on Gucci Mane's WW3 series and Trap God 3) and I'm like WTF.... my mind was blown... how could this average rapper with one or 2 kind of cool songs over the course of 6 tapes IMO (ICFN1/2/3+1017Thug 1/2/3) come back after 1 year with such a singular, otherworldly, amazing style of rap, that he could utilize and control with ease and grace. Sitting here geeked on 1 or 4 things... I'm thinking it might have been partly a punk factor (his influences styles are pretty 'punk' or 'unique'). He said fuck whatever bs label he got involved in, he was above that to the streets. In my imagination, he got his 1st check (got a check) and made some moves in w bricksquad (and soon birdman) and Gucci Mane gave him a little mentoring and some Pillz and they got to flexin - from then on the 2010s were destined to be Thug's. Man I'm trippin. I feel like Fabo frfr. Hearing Barter 6 for the first time was out of body type stuff. That type of production, similar to So Far Gone/808s+Heartbreak/Blonde in a way to me, but with that dark psycadelic Metro/London, thats my favorite type beats. The minimal, dark, aux-cord-killing, beautiful Barter 6.

I'd argue that he's had a similar evolution to Miles Davis, prolific as all hell and constantly creating new sounds. His prolific record of perfect hooks matches Kurt Cobain's discography-way of crafting suchhhh catchy vocal melodies with ease. That was pretty much his thing. Along with writing lyrics that don't always make the most perfect sense at first but stick in your head for days for some reason. (sound like someone?) Again with the "Theory" series is about rap's favorite gang the Black Disciples Nation 🖤🔱/III/🅱️. Now to be clear during these times I was in high-school during the rise of Chicago drill and Kanye's alley oop on the "Don't Like" remix. So in midst of that, Lil Jojo and Bricksquad, the rise of Team600 etc I didn't have the foresight I do now as alot of us didn't.
This was the time that "Street" culture met the mainstream in a more direct way that the mass public didn't mind the product, "Drill music" at the cost of yea this song is hot but, Dude got killed two weeks ago for "dissing" or "clout chasing" and know his friends, Some who may rap on and off or fully may now try and seek revenge to then respond back in music.
But, VICE, CNN, YouTube, Zacktv1 all were able to amplify the culture via documentaries or interviews, Cameramen aswell for the iconic videos whether we talking OneTrey, Dibent, ELEVATOR, Loko Visionz🕊, Prince Films, Raymoneyvisions and countless more aswell.
Now back to the drill scene, the beef between Lil Jojo and Lil Durk, Lil Reese and by association Chief Keef & GBE would end with Jojo getting killed in September of 2012, Rising star for the GDs but at the time the BDs had alot of fans. Thanks to Jojo and "BDK" the Gangster Disciples in close proximity to BD hoods began to enforce that out of respect for Jojo, Not all hoods to be exact. Majority of these beefs stemmed from evens in the late 2000's if not 1990's the music just added the fuel. In particular the STL063🔱 set with the collective FBG took over the rap front for that side 2012 to present. The BDs by number aren't a factor by membership if we talking Black Americans, the GDN and BPSN are the largest.
But the music is where the BDs began to gain a strength that carried two birds and one stones for Chicago's streets and music scene, Chief Keef meeting Interscope would cross a plateau the GD wouldn't reach until later, Def Jam already had Lil Reese & Lil Durk who collaborated with Drake & Rick Ross.. Reese in particular with the two and later Durk and Drake. But exposure to the industry cement ties in alot of cases, Especially Sosa his who demeanor alone deserves its following if not cult following.
But as I said FBG on 63rd would almost emulate GBE in a way as a member could get at and cover someone with guys in the street moving around and making moves, STL063 had hitters but alot of work we can acclaim to St. Lawrence we have EBT(🔱/🖤🔱) making moves whether it's YoungMoney065/TYMB or Parkway in the years 2007-2014 and then later TW(🔱/⭐️✊🏿)2014-2020. Not saying STL063 didn't put in work but up to now alot of them are KIA if you looking at it from a war prospective.
Lil Jay🔒, Duck🕊, Brick🕊, Billionaire Black, Cashout063/FBG Cash🕊, Young, Dutchie would hold it down for masses for there side. Countless hits from these guys would keep the "BDK" movement going even though STL063 fellout with B$069 in 2014, Lil Jay especially with the music and multiple gunshots that mf was like a Terminator lol, Regardless of the shit on his name I can't knock dude for his influence. Duck especially was the "Face" from 2013-2020.. alot of people say "Slide" was the hit that made Duck blow up but actually the underground hit "Right Now" did millions already on YouTube but no label backup.
Either way these guys kept it balanced in the Drill scene but on the industry side they couldn't get the break because on the industry side their opps already had connections to keep "associates" with them and their allies could be maintained without publicity acknowledging the FBG group or the opps in general.
