Walmart scabies

Miserable..

2024.04.14 03:40 Forsaken_Charge9566 Miserable..

I have been thru so much crap since late December. I’ve never had anything like this in my life.. it all started with this feeling of something like hopping on me but when I would look nothing would be there. Fast forward to now, I am just completely infested with something. I don’t even know how I would’ve contracted scabies if in fact that’s what it is. At first I scoured the internet and tried to treat it on my own.. the main problem areas has been my scalp and face but I’ve also had welts come up pretty much all over and have had bites in the top of my pubic hair line that turned into pimple looking things. Those finally healed but they did leave a mark. I haven’t seen the actual burrow marks on me, hard to know about my scalp tho because I have so much hair. But my scalp does feel very weird.. gritty and gross. No matter how much I wash, exfoliate and soak these things do not go away. I finally sought out help thru my primary care Dr, she said she thought it was lice because she saw a couple ‘possible nits’ she prescribed me a 2 bottle kit of Nix hair lotion. Thought I had finally found a solution.. uh no. As soon as my hair was dry same ol situation. Prior to even seeing her I had bought Ivermectin lotion from Walmart and tried that.. didn’t work. Called and told her it didn’t work, I could tell she was kinda blowing me off so I called a dermatologist and went to see what I thought was a Dr, ended up being a nurse practitioner with a horrible attitude. Keep in mind I have no health insurance so I pay big money out of pocket for all of these appointments only to be practically ridiculed. They act like because they can’t ‘see’ any mites they don’t exist 😒 she told me they don’t do skin scraping samples, the only thing they do is a biopsy. So no resolution there.. whatever these things are they irritate my eyes really bad as well, they actually get in my eyes and drive me insane. Paid to see an eye Dr who said he did see some evidence of Demodex mites and prescribed some drops and some kind of acid spray. The drops are like $1900 with no insurance 🤣 that’s not happening. Went back to primary care, she has now resorted to handing me a packet about delusional infestation 🤣 at this point I wish it was something mental because this is absolute hell. I asked her about a referral to possibly an infectious disease doctor, she put one in.. I never got a call and when I called to ask the nurse she said they said that it wouldn’t benefit me to come there because they would do the same thing the primary care Dr did. What’s that? Prescribe Nix one time then write you off as psychotic? Yeah that sounds super professional.. so I have essentially given up on Drs. No one has even attempted to test or take a closer look to see what is plaguing me.. they’re honestly a joke. Whatever this is, scabies or a mite it’s ruining my life. Tonight I decided to slather my whole scalp and hair in mineral oil and put on a vinyl bonnet.. have no idea if this will help, I guess the thought is I hope it smothers them to death 😅 sigh… sorry so long of a post, if you’ve hung in this long thank you for reading. Any thoughts or comments are appreciated. Thank you.

2024.01.30 04:46 Severe_Craft1930 Game-playing management at my Extended Stay Hotel.

I (31F) have been literally the only housekeeper here at my stupid little Extended Stay Hotel Hell in Louisiana for almost 2 years now. Well recently I’ve been looking for another job because I can’t not stand this place and everyone in it. This place is not professional whatsoever and I often feel like I’m left in the damn twilight zone because these people do things that just doesn’t make sense to me. My manager (70ish M) is the slowest, most idiotic excuse of a manager I’ve ever had to deal with. He lives on site rent free in the owners old apartment that’s been pimped out. When you are inside it looks nothing like what the rest of the dumpster fire looks like. Huge bathroom with a jacuzzi tub, huge walk in shower, multiple big closets, enclosed patio, 3 bathrooms. I mean the place is like a house that’s been disguised to look like the dumpy hotel from looking at it from the outside. Next there’s Coworker #1 (55 F) who is the laziest, grossest, most conniving troll I’ve ever known. For starters when I got hired on she treated me like I was her own personal slave. Literally barking orders, not being helpful to actually train me or the other girl who was hired on with me at the same time. And the best part is she is absolutely clueless. She doesn’t actually clean anything in the rooms. She would tell me to reuse the sheets and just make the beds look nice if it looked like they haven’t been slept in. She never would wash comforters. Just top notch gross bitch. Then she was whoring around for pain pills and got scabies (which is highly contagious) I spoke up and told my manager I didn’t want to be in the same room as her until she’s clear from all that. She had to quarantine herself in her rent free apartment for 2 weeks. Then when that was over the bitch had the nerve to be telling people that “I didn’t even have scabies. The manager and myself lied to make me have to not work. I didn’t get paid for 2 weeks because of them!” When I personally read her fucking discharge papers from the urgent care she went to clearly stating that she had scabies and saw all the shit she got prescribed for it. Why would they write you a script for something you didn’t have? I was thinking about my own health whore. One time she stole over half of my brand new cleaning supplies that I bought with my own money. I had it all in a Walmart bag in the commercial laundry room and was lying to my manager saying she thought it was trash and threw it away mistakenly. She told my manager I should check the dumpsters. I wouldn’t let it go and I messaged her to let her know that I’m not an idiot and there was no way it could’ve been mistaken for garbage and that she was a raggedy hoe for taking that from me when I make $11 an hour. Well my manager got wind of the texts I sent to her and told me if I don’t apologize to her then I would be fired. He knows she stole from me. He told me “Your job is in her hands” Im left in the twilight zone because in what world would you get robbed by someone who got caught 100% without a doubt, and then have to apologize to the robber or else you lose your job? So basically the Manager showed me his true colors. He knows I’m a good worker and before that incident you could say that we were even friends. That day I knew that nobody had my back and that she could literally steal and get flat out away with it. She just does whatever she wants without any punishment. I know in any other business she would’ve been fired for that. She also lives here rent free in a room that would normally cost $1200 or more. I also live here and pay $850 a month. The room I live in was not in any condition to be considered liveable. We had to overhaul this apartment. Cleaning took us damn near a month. The owner thought she was cutting me a deal cause normally this unit would go for $1000 at best (if it were fixed up) yeah some deal when we had to work our asses off to make it move in ready. The next piece of shit employee is Coworker #2 (24M). His only job is to empty the 4 garage cans in the common areas and pick up litter. He not only doesn’t do that ever, but he gets $400 off his rent for it. At one point the job was offered to my Spouse. He gladly accepted because it’s not a lot to do and $400 off our rent would’ve been a godsend to us. Well the day before he was set to start doing the job, Coworker #2 called the owner saying he “changed his mind” and decided to keep the job. Only to never actually do it. The owner (65F) just allows these pieces of shit to not do their Jobs, giving them maximum rewards and benefits. I’ve been the only housekeeper cleaning every room by myself for 2 years now. I don’t have a master key but both coworkers 1&2 have one. Why on earth would coworker 2 need one to empty garbage cans that are OUTSIDE? Because disorder I guess. Each day the manager has to open each door to every room I clean going on 2 years now because the owner doesn’t want me to have a master key when I’m the only person doing any real fucking work around here. God forbid anything be easy going around here. This place is a god damn joke and I hope someone sets it on fire or an asteroid hits it. I can’t do this shit anymore. I’m doing the job of 5 people. I also do all the laundry cause nobody else does a single thing. For $11 an hour. I’m the only employee who works here yet has to pay full price each month. I hope karma gets these people hard. Rant over.

2023.12.06 10:01 Nuttbugly 10% Sulphur Soap

Holy Shit… A nasty pack of mature Scabies attacked me at a cabin over Thanksgiving break!!! I shit you not, we had to cut the damn vacation short and come home. Since this was Wednesday night, it only made sense to travel Thanksgiving day, with minimal cars on the road and get us home to a controllable and friendly, fresh environment. I’m not lying when I say… Friday and Saturday were rough and I experienced a shit load of bites… by Sunday morning my Daughter and myself were being conquered and losing the War!!! They handed us a “one of a kind” ass kicking over the weekend for sure!!! At this point our only choice was a trip to the ER clinic (which was AWESOME and a SHOUT OUT TO NEXT LEVEL PRIME) so the professionals could do what they do… they took the matter seriously and got us need prescriptions after a firm diagnosis. It was the 5% Permethrin cream with 3mg (to body weight) Ivermectin pills to help even the odds!!! Now, here’s where I made a huge mistake of not getting the prescription filled until Monday morning (should have went to the 24 hour location) but what was decided was done. First thing that morning, my Daughter and I administered the cream and then the pills the next day (I was still flipping covered and my daughter’s cheek was a battle zone at this point). By Wednesday morning relief was near and hope set in !!! We were beaten down badly so our positive mentality really helped us at this point and victory is inevitable!!! 🤙👍💪 We took other precautions for the next 7 days, and followed a strict protocol involving; 1.) showering with 10% Sulfur Soap (we sud up our entire body and let it sit for 2 minutes) and that’s really, really helped out… 2.) Cleaning the 💩 out of our living environment and being able to steer clear of each other helped us limit exposure so that’s been a needed help. 3.) A daily washing of everything touched which included a 15 minute soak of water at a temp of 140°. I put some itchy cream together to help which consisted of mixing together Organic Tea Tree Oil into a large jar of retail Tea Tree Oil Lotion off Amazon. All of these steps have improved our condition quickly (in my opinion) and effectively and I feel we’ve made great progress. Also I wanted to point out, after reading peoples stories in the group, I’m convinced the Sulfer Soap was and will continue to be an effective and essential weapon in our battle!!! We plan on continuing the soap for 6-8 weeks daily and we 100% definitely recommend the Sulfur soap as a help against those nasty ass, vicious, tough to kill, bastards!!! GL and Gods speed!!!
Please keep your grammer commitments to yourself as I couldn’t care less… I just want to help anyone that needs a bit reassurance and some positive results that may help them. Peace ✌️
This is the soap…
Biosulfur Grisi Sulfur Soap, Acne Treatment, Cleaner Bar Soap, for Oily Skin, 4.4 oz
Bought it off Walmart.com and paid less than 3$ a bar. It seemed to have worked better than the Chinese crap I bought off Amazon.

2023.11.30 01:08 Alternative_Ant1447 Blackjack SAVED my life this month.

I live in Las Vegas. Me and my mom with Alzheimer's rented from a lady who illegally rented to us. She went to elaborate lengths to pull off her scam including inside friend at the property management company and an attorney. Higher manager found out about the scam and posted eviction notices, but she hid them from me so I couldn't go to court. Took them a month to find out. Anyway on November 1st I paid rent, which was almost all my money as I am on Social Security. About an hour later my mom dies. Another hour later they come remove my mom's dead body. Not 10 minutes after they take my mom's body the Constable comes and removes me. I had no idea this was going on. Had no idea why he was there. Just paid rent and had a lease. I go to dirty filthy nasty bed bug and disease ridden homeless shelter. In the 2 weeks I was there I caught Tiberculosis, bed bugs, lice and scabies. I was so emaciated from not eating the slop they served that wasn't fit for worms to eat that I was looking like a rotting corpse. I was filthy dirty and smelly from sitting in dumpsters during the day. I decided to go donate plasma as they paid $100 for first few times. And then went downtown on Fremont to play blackjack. I was caught at the door at Fremont casino and not allowed to enter cause I was filthy and smelly and scratching myself all over cause of the bed begs and scabies. I then went to Four Queens...several people left the table when I sat down and everyone was giving me dirty looks. The security didn't bother me though and neither did the dealers or floor men. I bought in for the $100 and played basic strategy and after 4 hours I had $1,050. I cashed out and went straight to the hospital where I was treated for scabies, lice, bed bugs and TB and was put on a feeding tube and fluids for 3 days. The social worker at the hospital found me a group home to live in for $600 a month which left me with $450 left which I was able to buy new clothes. The social worker was nice enough to go to the big and tall store on her lunch break and buy me clothes for $150. Had $300 left over. After released from hospital I treated myself to pizza and wings, Subway and Wendy's, bought few groceries and hygiene products. My mom has a $20,000 life insurance policy but it takes about 6-8 weeks to get. Called Colonial Penn a few days ago and they said I will have the check by December 13th. But the funeral home is refusing to keep her body longer than 30 days in their refrigerator and said on Friday they were going to give my mom's body to the county for them to dispose of, usually done through cremation but they won't give me her ashes which I wanted to have in a necklace around my neck. Yesterday I got my Social Security cause I get it on a prepaid card which pays a few days early. After paying rent, buying some groceries and a few things at Walmart and a few bus passes I had $160 left over. I decided to go to the El Cortez and played double deck and single deck blackjack and I could not lose a hand. Every single double and split and multi way double and split I won. Getting blackjacks back to back. 20s like crazy and even when I had 15 or 16 against a big card I turned them into 20s. Won $2,700 in about 5 hours. Unreal luck I had. Not sure if I was just lucky or my mom looking down on me or God cause I really don't believe in God. I paid another month's rent so I will always be a month ahead, went to the funeral home and paid for my mom's cremation and bought a beautiful dolphin necklace to wear her ashes around my neck which was $1,800 total and treated myself to a nice steak dinner for lunch. I know blackjack is a losing game unless you're counting but it saved my life this month and I am so happy and will be forever thankful.

2023.10.18 19:24 snow-bird- Walmart Staff coats never Cleaned?

Ok Walmart. Riddle me this. Your stores have a couple random coats for loaders to wear that staff HAS to share and they aren't allowed to take them home to wash AND you don't get them cleaned by a uniform service? Sounds like a great way to share scabies or skin diseases. After hearing this I'd like to see the Board & CEO swap these same jackets daily and never get them cleaned too! These company provided coats ARE FILTHY !!! 🤢 (and before someone responds "they can wear their own coat" you're missing the point. If you provide WORKWEAR provide UNIFORM CLEANING).

2023.09.19 06:32 Rixtertech Bedbugs, Vehicles and Humans

This is mainly intended for people living in their car or van. I fought these pests and won, so can you.
Oh ^!%%^!! That's a Bedbug!
If you've just said that, you've seen just one member of a tribe that has evolved from much larger insects that preyed on dinosaurs to the small, but incredibly tough and annoying pest they have become today. You have a battle ahead of you and should begin by reading about their life cycle on the web, here's one source of many. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bed_bug
You'll note as you read that they say there's no evidence that non-chemical methods combined with chemical methods are any more effective than non-chemical methods alone. if you're a suspenders-and-belt type like me you might still want to use some chemicals but their message is clear; HEAT is the most effective weapon in your toolbox. They have three life stages after hatching and they have to bite at least once at each stage to pass to the next and become an adult and breed.
I saw my first bedbug peeking out from a fold in my Scally cap, an unwanted gift from a miserable but short stay at a relatives house. It retreated demurely as if it sensed I had seen it.
People might expect to these little fellows to be like ants or fleas, driven by extinct and almost robotic in their daily activities. They actually seem to have at least two personality types. Most of them are naturally very shy, hide from light and will try to hide deeper if they suspect they've been noticed. But there is the occasional wanderer, whom I came to refer to as the "Marco Polos". You might find him anywhere at anytime, anywhere, staring at you expectantly as if he'd like to suggest you lie down for a nap and get bit. Since "Marco Polo" might actually be "Marsha Polo" and looking to lay some eggs I'll suggest you kill these whenever you can.
I conducted a multi-month battle in my van against these pests and eventually won. Here's how I did it.
OK. Tomorrow is Bed Bug Day. Tonight you're going to the laundromat.
  1. Wash EVERYTHING in HOT water and the harshest soap you can think of, Borax-based comes to mind, no sense being nice about it. Dry on HIGH for longer than you think is necessary. The type of soap probably doesn't matter but believe me you will come to hate these %@^!s and will wish them nothing but suffering.
  2. Put everything in clean fresh garbage bags and if possible, stash them in a storage space. You want to carry as little as possible in the vehicle while this fight is going on.
The next morning, bright and VERY early
  1. Find somewhere you won't be interrupted and pull EVERY possible thing out of the van, trying to maintain separation between items when possible. Check EVERY item for BB's and when unsure use the spray. They're mostly immune, I know but it can't hurt. I used the Hot Shot Ultra from Walmart. Foggers don't really seem to accomplish much and will leave residue on everything, so I suggest skipping that stuff.
I have slept on a cot for years, and bedbugs love them because they can hide in the aluminum tubes during the day and pop right out at night for a quick meal. So I would pull off the duct tape I put over any openings at the last spraying, spray in more BB Love, and apply new tape to close things off till next time.
  1. When you've done the best you can with the cargo, attack the van. Clean, vacuum, spray, bleach, I don't care what you try but go for it and take your time. Do the best you can. Remember, the eggs are so small that I've never seen one and the Nymphs are tiny and surprisingly -fast-, much faster than the juveniles and adults.
This is a battle of attrition and I think it very unlikely that anyone has ever cleared a vehicle on the first try, especially if there is a human that has to sleep in it every night.
  1. When you've done your best and have reloaded the vehicle, head to the gym for a hot shower and a change into some of those fresh clothes. Be sure to put the dirty clothes into a tightly sealed trash bag. Try to check your shoes before you put them back on.
  2. Ideally, it's high summer and you can now go to the book store or library or anyplace where you can park all day, seal up the van TIGHT and leave it all day in the sunniest southern exposure you can find (ideally parked sideways for max sun) to get it as hot as possible. You can't do much about getting the floor hot but that's why you cleaned so thoroughly. If you're not so lucky and you're in a cold environment then I guess maybe you could try renting some sort of serious heater but you'd need a lot of power to run it and get the vehicle up to 131f. Remember, it's not enough to get the air to that temperature... the upholstery and body have to get heated up too.
This whole ordeal will just take longer if there is no good hot sun to help you.
  1. I've told you everything I know except that you should try to protect yourself from bites as much as possible with tights, long sleeves, gloves, anything you can think of to try to keep them off you including your face, neck, back, any skin they can access they'll probably try to get through especially as they become more desperate. You're going to have to keep doing all this every three or four weeks until you win. I think it took me about 4 months to be sure they were gone but I had lots of heat and sun to help me and left that van in the sun closed up tight every day for as long as possible. Cold will probably slow them down but won't kill them unless you bring them down to -4f. Once you're pretty sure they are gone, give it one last session just to be sure, and keep your eyes open.
  2. Mind your mental health. There's a reason why the Wiki article mentions "psychological effects" as the second item in their list of health impacts of an infestation. I saw the BB's in my peripheral vision for a couple of YEARS after having gone through this, because I had gotten so conditioned to looking for them. A guy in the area I was living at the time burned down his house in frustration and the damnable jury convicted him of arson... I would have held out to acquit. You just don't know until you've been there... I've dealt with roaches and fleas and scabies and will take any of them over bedbugs, because they are SO hard to kill.
Stay strong and be well in the Outer Darkness.

2022.10.31 11:07 jkunt1990 my [continious] scabies trauma

I made a backup account to write this up, but if you know me personally and are on reddit, which I can't think of anyone but without a doubt I know somebody on this hellsite, you'll know who I am. But whatever. Also I'm doing this on my phone. Fingers crossed for the grammar being readable. I contracted (or whatever) scabies almost two years ago from either a dude named Ralph or a very very dirty house. It's a toss up. Initially I thought they were flea bites, because my dog had fleas at the exact same time (which is where the dirty house theory comes in) and I am from Utah but had recently moved to Arkansas, and had never seen neither. I'm assuming from the elevation, but I don't know that information for sure. I hadn't ever seen them up until that point is all i know. I went to a clinic in Arkansas and was diagnosed and given the cream. I followed the instructions exactly and it eliminated them significantly, almost to the point of being gone, but never fully went away. After being diagnosed with scabies, I read every single thing there is to read on the internet about them. I swear, all 20,000 google results, I'm really not exaggerating. I found out that my Hep C is likely a factor as to why I can't get rid of them as easily as they should be able to be gotten rid of. I have been back to the doctor an additional two times and have gotten the cream x2 more times and the prescription pill as well. Neither have gotten rid of them. (Side note) I also took my dog to the vet. She was given a flea pill. She is flea free. I've given up going to the doctor because I just can't afford it. Little less than a year ago I was able to get rid of them finally. I cant tell you how I did it, because I don't really know. I was taking bleach baths. Raid baths. Basically 1-2 baths a day in a concoction of tea tree oil, hydrogen peroxide, and whatever else. I mix it up. However, I got extremely ill and was hospitalized for 3 weeks. And it was there, my friends, I got them back. Though I am not certain of this, I'm certain of this. I had gotten rid of them for roughly four months. And then got (extremely) I'll, and had them back in about a week of being home. (Arkansas baby) Well, I am from utah and moved to Arkansas Feb of 2021. I was in arkansas about 4 months before getting scabies. After being able to get rid of them for those couple of months, I've been struggling with them on and off ever since. However, I'm currently home visiting utah. This is the second time I've visited home since scabies. I should also mention I've never passed them along to anybody. I soenr and first and being cautious, but seriously never passed these allegedly highly contagious douchebags along to anyone. Not my boyfriend. Not my family. Not my roommates. Nobody. They all of course know my situation. But never have passed them along. Thank God. Anyway, each time I come here, these bastards come out of my skin. My guess is the elevation, and there is nothing, I mean nothing, on the internet that I've found that explains anything I'm experiencing. It's like they are coming out of every pore. I've read that they aren't really on your face. Wrong. They are up my neck. In my hair. My eyelids. It's like they're coming out of every pore. Exiting because they cant breathe. This happened the last time I came home to Utah as well but I wasn't here very long and when I got home, the symptoms lessened. Now I've been home going on 4 weeks. And good lord. They are coming out of every damn pore. I've had clear skin my entire life, and my face is completely covered. I took pictures but in order to attach them I would have to change my post. And I've come so far. Ha. One thing I've had help me is bathing in "Kerasal Foot Therapy Soak with Natural Tea Tree Oil". Basically bath salt. But this specific brand/type has been the most helpful thing I've found thus far. It's a red bag/green bag and you find it in the pharmacy area of Walmart. By like the ankle casts, etc. A lot of times though, I cant find it, its out. But I found it. I'm about to bathe in it right now. I hope it helps because this is crazy. Basically I wanted to make this post for two reasons. To see if anyone else has ever had a similar experience to mine, and also to share the info about higher elevations causing scabies to exit skin. Lolol. Also, the Kerasal foot soak. It really helps. They seem to hate it. Reddit can be a mean place, so we will see how this goes. I'm just trying to spread and gain knowledge. Because these bastards are ruining my life. xo.

2022.04.12 21:17 diazlabs Dirty Things Killed Dirt Cheap

It would seem that the economic impact of parasitic infections is low, especially in the U.S. where we believe these things are nearly non-existent. But, that isn't the case at all. It costs time, money, and resources to take down even a small outbreak. Witness the pandemonium caused by scabies in school or head lice. Classes to entire schools can find themselves in an endless cycle of dismissals, openings, and closings. That alone can cost parents days of lost work, and can even impact the daycare centers or afterschool programs in which their children are enrolled.
That doesn't even address the cost of doctor visits and meds. For example, #Albenza one of the best, if not the best, antiparasitic drug on the market is about $500 per pill without insurance. That's even at your local Walmart. Why? Because, the manufacturer of this drug, located in Kentucky, is not currently making any for the US market. The stockpiles on hand are being sold to wholesalers who place a premium on the drug because of its scarcity. Unbelievable. Meanwhile, overseas where these outbreaks are common with infections rates approaching epidemic proportions, the meds are less than a quarter each. Sometimes, entire communities are treated together yearly to prophylactically prevent spread and illness. And at no cost to the citizen. It's considered a public health measure.
So, what's the takeaway? The use of antihelminthics and antiparasitic drugs here in the US is low and should probably be made more readily available. At least as available as the "morning-after" pill. If people live in or are exposed to pathological organisms like parasites it's very important to get them treatment as early as possible. Not only is their health impacted, but the psychological stresses caused by seeing or knowing another organism is living or feeding on you can be devastating.

2022.02.08 20:19 Suiken01 Questions about indoor carpet use on micro bugs

Hi guys this is my first time messing with DE so I got a lot of questions!!! Thanks for your help!!
Does Diatomaceous earth works on micro tiny bugs that human eyes can't see? like chiggers, scabies etc (I still dont know what bugs I am dealing with as I can't see it, but symptoms is similar to those two bugs and from dirty carpeting) Do I pour some on the carpet, leave it for couple days then vacuum it up? For my use only get food grade? or any is fine just wear mask? How many pounds do I need for 1800 sq feet? (Do I need to use it on all the carpeting In the house or just bugs affected areas?) For carpeting do I apply it wet or dry? Can't just leave it on the carpet and not vacuum? Some youtube videos didn't mention about vacuum it back up. Thanks for the help guys
This one will do right? https://www.walmart.com/ip/Harris-Food-Grade-Diatomaceous-Earth-2lb-Feed-Supplement-with-Duster-Applicato290261965

2022.01.20 22:08 good_burger1 Anyone try this before? Camphor/Menthol/methyl salicylate

CamphoMenthol Cream
I was looking online and quickly noted some success against scabies / mites with camphor and menthol, both of which are present in the topical ointment. Was wondering if anyone has tried this?
Just fair warning, it is possible to overdose on methyl salicylate: overdose link, overdose link 2, overdose link 3
Last link indicates possible toxicity if smeared over 40% of the body, but, if used for multiple days in a row, I'd argue that a person should be much more conservative.
Obviously if anyone sees this and decides to try this, I'd say to not apply daily or immediately after a bath, don't apply it to large portions of your skin, and don't cover it up (as covering ointment prevents environmental loss and increases absorption). Still, it might be worthy to try as a spot treatment? Thoughts?
----
Editing my post to add further analysis. Two others have mentioned Sarna lotion, and I wanted to do a lethal dose comparison with Sarna vs. Equate/Bengay
For this exercise, I'm going to use 20g of lotion as the baseline application (I've personally measured 10g of lotion when applied conservatively, so I'm being a bit liberal here - trying to go through this exercise assuming worst-case scenarios). And I'm going to assume that the person applying the lotions to their lethal doses is a total of 150lbs.
With Camphor: I've read that >30mg/Kg is potentially lethal, which, for a 150lb person (68Kg), 30g/mL = about 2.33mL or 2.04g (if I've done the math right). With menthol: the lethal dose is about 50 mg/kg up to 500 mg/kg. So, going through the same exercise, the lethal dose for a person of 150lbs would be 1g to 10g.
Sarna: Assuming you'd apply 20g of lotion daily, at 0.5% camphor, you'd be applying well below a lethal dose (0.10g of camphor), and it would take you 20 days to get to that lethal dose. For menthol, at 0.5%, you'd get the same thing - 0.1g of menthol on a 20g application, and it would take you 10 days to reach the lethal dose of 1g.
Equate/Bengay: Again, assuming you'd apply 20g of ointment daily, at 4% camphor, you'd be applying, again, well below a lethal dose (0.80g of camphor). However, it would take you only 2.55 days to reach the lethal dose of camphor. Menthol makes up 10% of this lotion, making the application 2g for a 20g application, so, a lethal dose after one application. Additionally, methyl salicylate, the main component of this ointment, has a probable lethal dose between 50-500 mg/kg, or 3.4g in this scenario. Given that methyl salicylate makes up 30% of this ointment, a single application over the entire body (assuming 20g ointment) would add up to 6g of methyl salicylate - well over the potential lethal dose!
Of course, the above exercise is overly simplified heavily - I assume the absolute worst-case for every variable. I assume 100% absorption, I assume a very liberal application over every part of the body, and I assume that the body does not process the ointment/lotion at all. And of course, in a realistic scenario, the body does process all of the above, however, it does take time - this is why we see people dying or overdosing typically after applying the bengay repeatidly over several days/weeks. It's also necessary to consider that the body may experience negative side-effects that are note obvious well before reaching lethal dose - it could be that the organs are damaged, for example. We don't really know. So, it's really best not to tread the line of lethal/non-lethal

2020.03.11 02:37 xatti31 Cured my scabies 1 year ago

On my get rid of scabies anniversary
I cured my scabies in 1 month and an half a year ago in extreme Boston winters and I just thought about sharing my experience maybe it can help you and others I hope so.
My thigh scabies where it started, started turning flaky.
Below are the areas I had multiple spots of scabies in each part of my body.
  1. Inner thighs
  2. Butt
  3. Legs
  4. Feet
  5. Arms
  6. Back
  7. Stomach
  8. Chest
  9. Hands
  10. Head (started)
What I did (I would say try each, see what works for you best)
  1. Mixture of tea tree oil+ clove if it burns add third oil coconut or olive oil (tea tree get at walmart cheaper and potent and clove oil get at nearby Indian grocery, affordable and potent)
  2. Neem tree soap+ oil (find local indian store cheap and good)
  3. Apple cider vinger baths (in hot tub of water till I could take it)
  4. Salt bats (in hot tub of water till I could take it)
  5. Rubbing hydrogen peroxide on affected areas
  6. Nutrsail scabies treatment
  7. Benzarid I would spray every where I touched including my bed
  8. Clothes in trash bags for 2 months that I didn’t use
  9. Daily use clothes , put them in trash bag after removing and than directly in Machine
  10. Never reused a towel or piece of clothing.
  11. Also did bleach bath
I got this huge sulphur cream from amazon, was planning to use it with vaseline or something but my scabies got cured.
Every-time I itch reminds me of scabies trauma. I was scared for months that it would reappear. It was pretty bad for me to cure it alone.
Note: I didn’t go to any doctor, because I was broke.
Didn’t use any permethrin.
My recommendation, start with with clove oil + tea tree oil and use on few places multiple times a day and see if it helps.

2020.01.03 04:09 babybrockville [REQUEST] Long Post, I Need Assistance To Help My Family. Please Help If You Can.

I am not sure where to begin but here it goes. I have not seen my fathers side of the family in a long time. He was not a good person and, long story made short, I helped the police put him in prison for a long time. After a very unfortunate death on that side of the family I made a trip to visit them over the holiday season.
My Grandmother, Aunt, Cousin and his two children along with a friend of his are all living in a one bedroom mobile home. No one there is working and the youngest two there are a ten year old boy and a four year old little girl. The others are all adults. They are all suffering from crippling depression (Aunt), Kidney Failure and Dialysis (Older Cousin) and COPD (Grandma). I do not look for them to live past 2020 and the children living there are suffering terribly. I have to help my baby cousins, whom I have just recently met. I feel so terrible for not knowing about this sooner.
The worst parts of their living conditions are that they do not have a working toilet, everyone in the house has scabies and there is no treatment and the kids have no place to sleep. Not to mention that they do not have any food and have not been enrolled in school. I bought what I could before I departed a few days ago. I have called the authorities and spoken with other family members. I don't know what the best thing to do is. My vision is to obtain a steady place and job and take these children in and give them a place to grow in a healthy environment. I am in no way ready for this as fast as they need it but I am working hard at accomplishing this for them. I just need some help. I figured this would be worth a shot even if all I receive are prayers and motivation. I have to help these poor babies.
I know its unreasonable to ask strangers on the internet to help me rent a place but I did come up with a list of things that would really help me get started in the right direction:
-Legal Advice and Assistance to Remove them from the home and get them into my custody as quickly as possible.
-Health Insurance for the Children (Age 10 & 4 in Lucedale, MS)
-Food Assistance (Walmart Gift Cards, Food Delivery Anything to Feed Them Fast)
-Gift Cards to Walgreens, CVS Pharmacy & Walmart
-Air BnB or Hotel Gift Cards (For me to be able to stay closer to them)
-UbeLyft Credits (I Currently Don't Have Transportation)
-Any Donation, Prayer or Advice/Support
God bless and thank you for taking the time to read my request.

2019.08.18 16:23 Itchy_Elevator Its not the best picture but I will add a link to more picture of the bites I received.

***UPDATE****
Good news everyone! I ended up shaking out the heavy duty entrance way rug yesterday onto some copy paper and examined the contents. From what I saw was to be the shells of a common cockroach here in Florida. The same shell as what my husband squished. Which would make sense since before we left we should have sprayed the house for them anyways. We were due and we have to spray at least once a month. I knew we should have but we were so excited to leave for our trip. Also yesterday morning I put flea prevention medicine on my cat. The vets office really pushed for it, because of her mandatory stay at the vets for cleaning. She was bound to get them. I found one flea! And upon further examination of my husbands new bite it looks to be a flea bite. He had gotten bit in the waist band of his pj's. But anyway, for extra preventive measures I ended up purchasing mattress protectors for the entire house. I even enclosed my box spring. Along with the sticky traps for under the bed. As well as entirely white sheets for the whole house! I have been continuing with my laundry, (taking it out of one bag and directly putting it into the dry full blast for two cycles, then putting them back into a sealed bag.) I am also deep cleaning my entire house. Even if it here fleas or roaches, it is better and more manageable than bedbugs. The real test for me is today. My van has been sitting in the direct Florida heat and sun for a week. And I have to take the kids to school. I am going to stop at the car wash again and vacuum it out. It has been rainy some of the day but it still gets hot enough to cook an egg. I also sprayed hot shot in the van after the second day of being back. Everything was pretty expensive but necessary. I also contacted a local pest company for a free inspection, which is great!! They come on Thursday. I will be in contact with a family member to get legal advice on suing the rental company to get something from them. Because none of this would have happened if they did their job and properly cleaned their cabins... They must have known about them. It was so many bugs in there. And I found a review of the cabin rental place that had shown people with bites on yelp or something. I should have done more research. You live and you learn.
And my best guess is combination of fleas my cat picked up from the vet, which has cause new bites. When she came home she went directly for my bed and has been sleeping in it, because she missed us so much. She has been giving the best snuzzles. And cockroaches...They are super gross but as long as I make sure everything is ship shape and clean every single part of this mobile home. I am going to continue my Inferno Cleanse of my clothing and Lysol the crap out of everything. Heat steam treat my carpet Because they make up most of my house and also heat stream treat my couch and chairs. They should be fairly easy to do. ON a positive note I have lost 10 pounds from this whole ordeal. o.0
But as far as my mental health cleaning will be very therapeutic today. I will also try to contact a professional as well. After all this is over I cant wait to be able to sit down and paint again. Thank you all for reading. It means a lot to talk about a very taboo subject. But people get them all the time. You are not alone.

I posted this in another sub to ask for legal advice, but I feel it would be better to post it here. I am going through so much right now and buckle up because this is a very long post....I didn't feel like editing it down.
The picture attached was the best picture we could get because we ran as soon as we could. Left everything. I have not slept in days....
Thank you for taking the time to read and fully understand my whole story. Sometimes you need to just let everything out.

Hello! I am not very familiar with creating post on reddit but I will give it my best.
The reason I am coming here is to 1st of all vent, and 2nd of all to seek the advice from those with better knowledge on what I am to do.
Please read the backstory all the way to fully understand where I am coming from.
I am wondering if I can sue a cabin rental place for being infested with bed bugs. I had a severe reaction and everyone was bitten. It was a flourishing army of bedbugs long before we arrived.
Backstory:
I have a family of 5 plus a kitty baby. Myself, husband, and 3 daughters. I have struggled with depression and what i believe to be bipolar or similar. (not diagnosed) Recently I have been Rapid cycling through my emotions and having bouts of being super productive to severely depressed. I would never harm myself, but the thoughts run through my head. My children have been out of school on summer vacation and it is very tiresome to try to entertain a toddler and preteens. One of which has special needs. I have started to notice that I have times that are super productive and times that i have locked myself in the bathroom and curled up into fetal position. So many anxiety attacks. I needed to get away. One last big vacation with the family. So I explained this to my dear husband. I had spent the entire day planning out a trip that would be 10 hours away to rent a quiet cabin in the woods. Fire pit, enough beds, hot tub, beautiful deck overlooking the woods, next to a creek and unwind and relax to try to help my mental state. Mind you we are not rich by any means. my husband works full time and I stay home with the kids. So the expenses would just add onto our credit card. The total for a Friday to Sunday trip would cost around 480 dollars. Plus the gas, which is like another 150. I present this to husband. I have everything planned! He agrees after a night of thinking on it.
So I make sure I have enough road snacks and activities for the kids for this 10 hour drive. We sent our cat to my mother in laws house. Our cat had to go to the vets recently as well for a licking issue but we spent the money to get her antibiotic shots and pain medication. MIL is very homeopathic/anti-vax/anti-antibiotics/the government is run by big pharma/trump supporting......need I go on? It will come into play later.
It was beautiful! The drive went perfect! The kids were behaving and I was getting into my happy place mentally.
We finally arrive on time on 8/9/2019 at 4. We were exhausted from the long drive and the kids couldn't wait to check out this swanky new place! We get all settled in and we have to go to get some supplies for the night. Run to Walmart (30 mins away) and grab a pack and play for our toddler. Mind you it was sealed in all the packaging. We set it up in the living room. At this point all the kids were exhausted so they laid on the couch and watched tv for a while and then went to bed. Toddler went right to sleep. So hubs and I are enjoying the night with a couple of drinks on the deck. We decided to get into the hot tub and it was a fantastic night to say the least.
Fast forward to the next morning 8/10/2019. Everything is great I am so happy and cannot believe we actually made the trip we haven't done anything as a family in years and it was such a great feeling to bond with the children as a family. So we decided for our full day we would run to the walmart and grab more supplies like burgers, drinks, hot dogs, smores stuff for a fire later that evening. The fire pit was gorgeous! We were so excited! Husband take the older kids down to the creek and they splash and look at all the little fish. I relax in the hot tub while the little one is asleep taking a nap.
I am all set up for a relaxing book in the nice hot tub. everyone returns and husband is tired and decided to take a nap. It was his 2nd full day of vacation from work and he needed the rest from the drive. So he lays down for 2 hours or so. The kids are enjoying themselves and looking at all the nature we aren't used to. They had snail races and found some slugs. I grew up in the middle of nowhere and I was enjoying the quietness of nature that I haven't had in a long time. So as I am sitting there I noticed I had some bite on my arm, face, and was thinking at that time "oh its just nature, there are probably spiders or something. No big deal!' But it was weird how they were all in a line..................
So I looked up bug bites and low and behold........bed bugs! What the actual effff!!!! So I go into the bedroom to ask my husband about these bites. It was around 3 in the afternoon. So we both go into the bed he was just sleeping in and check. Mind you we didn't think to check the first night when we arrived as we were very tired. Low and behold red smears all in the bed, along with the little things everywhere. We took a picture of one and called up management. The number in the guidebook they provided was not the right one. So I had to look it up online. I get through and told the lady on the phone that this place was INFESTED! She said " Oh are you sure? Can you email me a picture of the bugs?" And I told her "NO! You send someone here immediately to look for themselves!" She says "okay" and sends someone out.
By this point I had so many bites that I was having a severe allergic reaction. I will post pictures if I can figure it out. Up and down my arms, my face, legs. EVERYWHERE! I checked the kids and they only had a couple. But my babies are getting attacked by these things. One is bad enough! I demanded a refund, and told them I have to throw everything away! Because I did not want to risk taking them home. I packed enough clothes for double the time we would be there. Including my special needs daughter a bunny that I have had since I was 4. She cannot sleep without it. So having to tell her that we cant bring anything back with us was very heartbreaking. So I literally stripped my children, put them in the car and bagged what I could with the trash bags provided. But it all wouldn't fit. Also I had packed ALL of my towels because I figured we would be making messes and getting dirty and would use our towels anyway. So left everything. I also stripped what I could from myself and husband. Just as I was getting the car cleaned out a man pulls up. He says he is the property management. I just look at him, and he clearly sees how bad I am bitten. Now normally I am very non confrontational. But in this situation, how can you not know that a place is entirely infested. But what really ticked me off was he said when he saw me, "Oh I see you were at the firepit and must have gotten bitten by mosquitos!' I just glared at him and told him no we have a picture of a bed bug and you can see for yourself int he bed! He continues to dismiss even after seeing the blood smears in the bed and seeing them. Finally he says okay I want to make you happy I will refund you. I told him okay. But I dont want to pay any fee for cleaning up all of the stuff we had to leave. I have NEVER had to deal with this kind of situation before in my life. So he also offers us a night at another one of his cabins. we refuse we already had to throw everything away and we were ready to drive 3 hours to stay in a hotel. We were done with all of this.
Hopefully you guys are still here reading this. And I would like to apologize for such a long post. I am getting to the end soon I promise.
We finally arrive at the hotel. After a stop at walmart to get some clothes for the kids. We get some mcds and zonked out for the night. I wake up at 430 am to my whole body swollen! and covered in bites. Now I didnt think at this time we had brought any with us, and if we did it was a couple. I had a plan for when we got home, to make sure we dont bring them in.
Back to the timeline, I take my oldest daughter who has bites on her face and we go to walmart to get cream and benedryl. I am so embarrassed I am so swollen at this point. But I push through and get back to the hotel. My mental state at this point was only holding it together for the kids. The whole ride home was a slow mental state collapse.
Finally we get back to our area. Its now 8/11/2019 We go directly to urgent care because I am not well at all at this point. The funny thing is my husband slept in the bed moments before we realized they were there, and he only had one small bite. So I am uninsured and the children have medicaid. So it was a bill of around 250 dollars for the visit alone. Next we go to walmart and pick up the prescription for everyone! Another close to 200 dollars. I had to get a special steroid cream for possible scabies. which was 100 alone. But anyways after that I went to the car wash and vacuumed what I could there and threw out anything and everything.
We are finally home. But I have such bad anxiety about bringing them with us. Even after we double checked the proper way of treating our clothes we are wearing. So we all strip at the washing machine and just in the showers. I am feeling on edge. I kept feeling like there is something crawling on me. Constant anxiety. Even though I keep checking all of the beds. And not to mention I am so miserable and irritable. The first 3 nights home I did not sleep at all. Paranoia and cleaning all night long. I ended up taking a nap during the day on the 4th day. At this point I have been taking all of these medications and creams and the bites had gone down but they are still scabs. They are still painful. And I am so embarrassed to go out into public. But on the plus hadn't seen a bug!
On the 2nd day home called to check on the cat at MIL's. She said she has been very lethargic and cant move with her cone so they took it off every now and then. I asked what she has been doing for her and she said she has been treating it with colloidal silver for humans..... now I am no vet so I called and asked the vet if it was safe, they told me NO! And that if she has been licking it or anything else she needs to be seen ASAP! So here I am all swollen and bitten hiding from the sun and such. We arrive at MIL's and tell her that the vet said we need to bring her in asap and that she shouldnt be putting anything on her leg, as it was healing and we just had spent a 100 to give her an antibiotic shot. And the silver was counteracting the antibiotic. (again I do not know what it can do I am just going by what my vet had said.) She is FUMING! I start crying because of everything that has been happening. And she says to me, not knowing my situation with my mental health, "You always have to play the victim dont you!" So at that point I rush the heck out of dodge to the car hyperventilating. ( unrelated side note: I have a narcissistic alcoholic mother who I dont speak to and have a lot of trama with that situation. And was for once in my life opening up to someone about how I was feeling.) And now she isnt even speaking with us.
Anyways we leave and now I am panicking about my cat. And freaking out about bugs still. And our cat has to have a proper cleaning to get the puss and gunk off her leg. She has to be sedated and stay overnight. Meanwhile I am cleaning my house inspecting everything top to bottom! to prepare for our kitty baby to come home. All while taking the kids to school and meeting teacher and holding it together for their sake.
So that brings us to this morning.
I cant sleep so I finally mosey on into bed around 1am. Husband has to work at 330am. So I am finally feeling safer and snuggling next to him to get some time for snuggles before he leaves. Around 2 he jumps out of bed and turns a light on and smacks him arm. It looked to be the rear end of a bed bug. We had to make sure because we live in a warmer climate where there are sometimes roaches. And we live in a mobile. But nope it is for sure a bed bug. So we check the rest of the bed and find nothing. But at this point I am not sleeping! So I strip the bed and throw everything in the dryer high heat. Then continue to bag up every article of clothing in my house. Everything. Sprayed my bed with bed bug spray that I sprayed in my car. Now I am currently waiting for the dryer to end its double cycle because I want anything to die in the inferno dryer. Opening a bag and tossing it in the dryer for the rest of my life. And I think I have a new bite now. So I am itching and reopening all of my scabs. I am such a mess right now. I plan on also once the kids wake up washing everything they own, and using a steam carpet rug vacuum on the entire house. I already sprayed my car and it has been sitting in the Florida heat for almost a week now. I am worried about my cat. And children. And my own sanity. I have been writing this for a couple hours now, trying to keep my mind busy. I feel like this is all my fault.
I have picture of before we arrived at the cabin and videos galore of before we arrived. And also these pictures of after I had gotten bitten.
Also I started smoking ciggs again. I am at chain smoking level now. After a year and half of vaping.
I have only seen that one bug, but my mental state it so bad right now that I had to get it out and ask you kind people of Reddit what to do. I am delirious. I am going to seek professional help as soon as I can. Which it is kind of hard right now because of finances. Please any words of wisdom or encouragement are more than welcomed.
Ill summarize in the beginning better as well as putting it down here at the end of this novel.
Can I sue the cabin rental place for medical bills, lost property, cleaning, displacement, pest control, and pain and suffering and loss of mental state? This was supposed to help me and it only made things worse. Everyone had a fantastic time before we found out we were being eaten alive.
Edit: I live in the state of Florida, and Traveled to Georgia.
Edit: picture of believed squished bed bug. (I am really hoping its not, a cockroach would be 100x better than bed bugs)

Edit 2: link to pictures (please excuse my butt cheek) These bites ended up blowing up even more and blistered so badly I still have huge welts. The pain was unbearable. Am I being a baby and its normal?

2017.11.23 21:37 JNMILshotput The time MIL was a botanist, or, "Maybe you're right Georgia Peach, I should go check."

Hello there scabies and gentlescum. I've got a short BEC story for you on this dreaded day and what I think is a masterclass in dodging conflict.
Recently, it seems that all of my stories revolve around cooking. Maybe because I only ever see Georgia Peach at holidays. Maybe because I exclusively write these at night when I'm craving square sausage. Anyway this takes place two years ago, on the morning of Thanksgiving.
I went for the decidedly uninspired, but appropriately autumnal, hasselback-ed squash basted in a coriander butter for my cover fee to SMIL's dinner. I was getting all of my stuff prepped for cooking and in walks Georgia Peach to her kitchen. We made the kind of strained small-talk that you can only ever make when you really hate someone and I explain what I'm making as I go along.
GP: But that's cilantro you have on the bench there.
ME: They're the same thing.
GP: No they're not. I have a herb garden, you know.
Clearly she thought that a planter of sad basil and a dying mint(!) plant both qualified as a "garden" and made her some sort of authority on the subject. She was super adamant too, way more than anyone needs to be about herbs. I couldn't get her to accept that coriander and cilantro are the same plant.
So you know what I did, I agreed with her. I picked up that packet of coriander, walked out of the house, jumped into our rental car, drove 10 minutes down the road and played on my phone for a while at the side of the road. Then I drove back, walked back into the house and lied right to her face.
ME: Good thing you said that Georgia Peach, they only had one packet of coriander left at Walmart.
GP:
She'll never know the truth of the matter either.
Stupid fucking cow.

2017.10.08 02:20 Pyrostea The Black Cat Avarice

The story begins at the dawn of Autumn. It's September 22 and the sleepy town of Pendragon is busy cleaning up what is already a mess of fallen leaves and the smell of pumpkin spice.
Like any town in America, Pendragon has some regular families with regular problems. While they may be normal, for each one worrying about taxes and retirement funds; there is another concerned about celestial tides and magnet bracelets. I'm not saying one is right, I'm just saying the town is full of all types of characters. For the purpose of this story there are also all types of cats.
Around the middle of the neighborhood lives Mrs. Deville, a desperate divorcée who is constantly active in the community trying to appease everyone for the sake of ownership of her kids, and more importantly a nice check to go with it.
Equitably, at the edge of the place lies a run down shack on a hill where a very eccentric old hermit lives. Spending time on chemical compounds and cures for just about anything . You could say he was a real freak, if you weren't a scientist.
But this is a story about a cat named Avarice, a Halloween story, and what better way to begin than with Pendragon's locally run Petco.
For those that don't know, Petco is the Walmart of animal friends. Most are very clean and humane places compared to other, less wealthy facilities for animals.. But then why do bad things keep happening at Pendragon's Local Petco? Time Lapse For Example:
September, 22 3:00 pm: A cat named Avarice is checked for bugs and administered vaccines. Cute but shaken up. Caretakers questioned for shoplifting and emptying the register. Unheard of in this good town.
Same day 5:00 pm: Petco staff inflamed with scabies and erupt in arguments that proper care and observation had not been taken care of. Video footage inconclusive. Avarice is placed in isolation.
September, 24 11:00 am: Avarice is taken out of isolation. Groomer and caretaker of all kittens and cats gets laid off. Manager's family moves out of town without him. Petco Shopper "Carl" finds heart stopped in front of kitten display rushed to the hospital and sent away.
September, 25 12:00 am; midnight: A large snake escapes its cage and devours half of aeronautic species collection. Feathers and wood chips scatter the aisles. Avarice is found back in isolation. Written that he was never taken out.
September, 26 9:00 am: Petco shuts down for 1 week as staff is recovering from illnesses, stock birds are being ordered, and all cages are being repaired. 2 members remain okay to maintain animal residents. There is some word of counseling for gaps of paperwork missing and insurance exploitations. Season profits at an all time low.
October, 1 10:00 Petco is robbed by tourists dressed in dog costumes. They take the money thought missing from the cash registers as well as a few pets. Idiotic? Perhaps.
October 13, 12:00 Local facilitator of corporate enterprise decides chain a failure. Had blowout sale to empty shop.
By mid-late October store does reasonably well and makes owner regret desperate actions and huge clearance sale.
Now I don't know if animals communicate more than their primitive nature lets on, but I think other cats do sense that Avarice is bad luck. They were itchy when he got there and it's been chaos since he's been around. To their temporary dismay they opt to fester their least nurturing facades and use pheromone magic to make him the cutest kitty of the bunch and may nurturing hands guide him out of their Monopolistic Animal Collective and into the hands of some poor soul.
Integrally Avarice is sad. He does not wish Ill on anyone and fears that he is just a bag of evil. It is heart-wrenching to think 2 months ago he was with his litter and drinking milk. Around this time it is assumed the curse had been cast. To save his starving family, Avarice went out also half starved to death into the world of Pendragon. Needlessly or more so heroically; misfortune fell upon him 9 times. Yet he stayed alive. The will to carry on in him was the sheer power that overcame many deaths. From these events hunger and pity boiled into bad luck into an otherwise "cheery" town in an apathetic world that couldn't care less if everyone was hungry and Avarice died one-hundred times.(sorry Mother Earth)
At least he wasn't starving anymore and it was nice to be the best of a litter, even if they secretly wanted him gone. A few weeks go by and it's October 27, almost Halloween.
Mrs. Deville at it again is looking for a cat to tie together her haunted house and impress visitors. Maybe the Parish will hear of it. Maybe her husband or his lawyer will pass by. It was all too perfect. As she opens the door of her red Chevrolet she chaffs the neighboring car in the parking lot. There may have been a dent.
Easily Avarice is the cutest cat and is adopted on what may have been the happiest Petco moment in all of profit and prosperity. Although her intentions may be to have a cat for Halloween she is also prepared to nurture and care for Avarice as if it were her own child. She buys the bed, the food, the litter, the toys, and even a little catnip. Avarice is ambivalent, but she does seem warm hearted. Mrs. Deville's red Chevrolet is keyed.
That afternoon the cat settles into the living room and finds it suitable. The musk of cleanly emptiness. The echo of a fireplace. It was all kind and nice. Two nights pass by and Avarice rests with Mrs. Deville and her hair is ruined ever worse, everyday. The drive over she almost ran 4 red lights and got pulled over for interrogation on behalf of her husband calling the car stolen. What a jerk!
Here there are a few pleasant days. For what would be loss without first having something to lose? Rhetorically there are a number of words that may explain or describe such a perspective. One of which may sum up Avarice's condition. But heed warnings not for after this upcoming cathartic tragedy there is after all a happy ending.
October 29 the lady is cooking oxe stew, she falls asleep and the house catches fire. This cat was damned wasn't he?
Know for better or worse all our characters in the house at the time of the fire made it out safe. "Get out of my life you toilet of wretchedness"! She shouts and scurries the poor kitten away far and fat.
Avarice spends a bitter day slinking between still cars and big bushes. Perhaps Mother Earth did not want to claim connection to this character. Even more who would hold onto this cat's friendship? It seemed almost fate that he found himself at the house on top of the hill, where the scientist was brewing potions alone and muttering to himself "magnetic bracelets may have been a bust but them on shoes I think I'm on to something. "Meow" rises Avarice. "Oh hello friend" the scientist salutes. The cat goes by and watches the interesting vials and colored liquids on the table. "My name is Isaac. Seeing your name tag I see you are "Avarice"? Isaac takes one vial and pours it into the other. It starts to combust. "Meow" Avarice shrinks.
"It's supposed to do that" - Isaac smiles and waits until the solution is still.
"Well it's time for dinner" he says "what would you say about gizzards"?
Now Isaac didn't get sick when he ate with Avarice and he slept peacefully with no nightmares. Not anymore than usual, but Avarice was still cautious. Visiting through Isaac's open window occasionally here they sparked a friendship. Every time Avarice expected a curse would arise, the exact opposite would happen. Where a tree was going to collapse it fell in a clean manner and relieved Isaac the work for a city permit. When his heater broke it broke too well unleashing a new wave of warmth.
A man visited one day. It was his brother who was in need of support for a new local business. Isaac told him he could not assist him any more than by his own hands; and his brother damned him cursing his name and wishing him ill. Yet Isaac was smiling ear to ear. The wind picked up and his brother left the house. On October 31 it was Halloween and there were no visitors. Avarice watched as Isaac performed a scene from Dorian Gray for his own amusement. Here he saw Isaac would become beautiful from others' misunderstandings. Their resentments and their curses. That was it! He brought luck to Isaac because Isaac was a curse magnet!
It's not easy to be misunderstood. Especially when it means living alone with a cat. Shunned by good fortune. But there are worse things. Happy Halloween!

2017.05.24 19:55 600doubleR Itching all over for months now..

Looking for any opinions. Looking for advice on where/who to go/speak with to resolve this issue.

I've been itching all over my body for almost 6 months now. It started just on my legs. I thought our dog had fleas, and I was getting bit. Now I am itching all over my body. I have itching on my hands and feet that comes and goes randomly. The hand/foot itching goes away every time I use a lotion with Colloidal Oatmeal as an ingredient. That lotion does not work for my body, however. The doctor had once prescribed me permethrin cream for scabies, only after I suggested to them that I think I might have it. (after many failed attempts to find out what it was, it was the only thing left I could think of) After putting it on my entire body for 10 hours, and cleaning my entire room, it didn't go away. I saw a different doctor, and he had originally thought scabies, after seeing my hands. However, I told him that my hands will go back to a completely normal healthy state for up to a few weeks, but then come back randomly. When it does come back I put that lotion on, I get relief within 30 minutes, and by the end of the day it will be retracting. At the end of two days the only marks left are scabs/scars from where I itched it so much. My feet are the exact same way. The itching on the body doesn't appear as a mark, bite, scratch, or anything really. My entire body just itches. (not ENTIRE body, but at least one spot per section/limb) Dots and red marks will only appear after I've scratched at my skin. I've tried hydrocortisone cream, and it doesn't seem to help. Multiple lotions haven't helped. I changed all my shower products to non-scented, and sensitive. Unfortunately I just tested positive for Chlamydia that I got from a casual partner. I'm wondering if there is a possibility that this could be making me itch on my body at all. I'll be picking up my medication for that today, but I don't think that's why I'm itching. I contracted it within the last 3 months, and I've been itching for 6. I was tested and clean just over 3 months ago.
Honestly, at this point I don't know who to see, or what options I have left. From research the hand/foot problem looks and sounds exactly like Dyshidrotic Eczema (mild compared to those photos, except very very similar to what you see in the last photo of the toe.) I've never had an allergy test done, at least not in the last 18 or so years, and the doctor seems to push that aside every time I bring it up. Yesterday he told me to start taking 10mg Xyzal once to twice daily. I took 10mg last night, and 10mg around 4 hours ago, and the itching I have today hasn't went away at all.
There are a few things that are consistent to this itching timeline..
In regards to the Adderall, I've swapped to Vyvanse during a 2 month portion of the past 6 months, and no changes to itching. I was also on Zoloft, and thought maybe I was allergic to that, so I got switched to Celexa, I noticed less itching, but this was only a very short time frame, and could be unrelated. I got back on Zoloft, because the doctor said it seemed like it wasn't related to anything, but then I started itching consistently immediately after. So I go back, and get put on Prozac. Not really helping with the itching all that much. It's hard to tell if I'm just getting used to being so dang itchy, or if it's gotten slightly better. Right now I am taking/using:
I'm so tired of itching. My ex-girlfriend was also itching when I was itching, but hers actually started first. Her doctor said it was a stress rash, It also didn't really resemble mine. Her's were splotches, and mine are invisible until you scratch, then they turn into red bumps for a day or so until they die down. This casual partner I have right now is now saying that she is a little itchy as well. I asked her if it was in all the classic scabies areas, and she was surprised that I knew every spot where she itched. The weird thing is that I don't itch in those areas. Mine are almost all in wide open body... not in cracks, crevices, between toes and fingers, etc.(I do get that eczema stuff on my hands and feet though. I can go weeks without having it however.)
I know this is a long post, and I don't want to type it as much as you don't want to read it, but I hope you can give me some insight on what direction to take from here. I'm not even sure how I get an appointment with a dermatologist. Every time I bring up a specialist my doctonurse practitioner seems to dismiss the idea. I don't need a referral for my insurance to pay for it either. Attached will be a photo of my hand. Unfortunately I took it the day after it started the other day. (so it's halfway to healing in this photo.) Just imagine it being a little dry and red around the spots where the dots are heavily populated.

2017.03.08 20:38 600doubleR Possible allergic reaction or skin condition? Eczema, Scabies?

These particular spots are only on my hands. I've have seen them before. I used to get a little "deep blister" on a random place on my hands in the past. It would always be singular. The other day (2 days ago) I woke up, and when I got to work my hands had all these blister filled bumps in them. The middle of the blister looked clear, which gave the illusion of a darker colored spot in the middle. (most likely the liquid in the blister) when squeezed clear liquid came out.
At one point I was getting itching all over my body, and after every other possible option my PA-C told me we're left with scabies, and gave me Emite. I used it and haven't really had itching anywhere since. I do every once in a while in random places, but not evident marks. The only red spots were I irritated my skin from scratching. I do however have ants always running around in my room, so I might be getting one or two bites from them.
My main concern though is my hands right now. I'm getting self conscious about them, and my PA-C doesn't really seem like she puts too much thought into the diagnosis. Around the time I started noticing "one or two" spots like this daily, I had started my Celexa. It wasn't until 2 days ago that It had been all over my hands though. I went to walmart and bought 2% Colloidal Oatmeal Eczema hand cream, and that actually made the blisters almost go flat. No itching or anything. If I stop using it over a period of time it starts to get red and bumpy again. Suggestions?
My PA-C seems to take my self-diagnosis into consideration before she makes her own opinion on the situation. I don't know why, but ti seems that way.

2016.10.03 00:59 CinderellaTheWorst Introducing "Narcissy Missy." I guess this can be considered the backstory.

I've been wanting to write about my boyfriend's mom for the longest time but honestly I couldn't think of a funny name to call her. Today I came up with "Narcissy Missy." I started writing up the complete history, but it was such a long post that I figured it would be better to break it up so I can get even more detailed. I guess you can consider this an introduction. I'll start from the very beginning.
My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost 3 years, and officially got together in January of 2014. We dated for about 2 weeks before he brought me to his house and I met his family. His mom, Narcissy Missy, started out extremely nice. The first reaction she had when I walked in was that I was "pretty", and she kept calling me "hun" and "sweetie." His grandma acted like a normal grandma. His mom's boyfriend was quiet, but he wasn't rude to me or anything.
I spent the weekend there and everything was fine. Since I was still in high school at the time, I could only stay over on the weekends. My boyfriend would pick me up from school on Friday, and I'd leave Sunday night. For the first month or two that we were dating there were no issues, and I ended up feeling comfortable enough with his family that I'd start to see his mom alone. I'd help her go grocery shopping or get our nails done together. About 3 months in, she would constantly start talking about my boyfriend's ex girlfriends. She'd outright compare me to them, or she'd tell me how much he loved them and how devastated he was when they broke up. She mentioned that she still talked to one of his exes and how she had since gotten pregnant (with someone else, thank fuck.)
She also told me her history, which I think is an important part of the ongoing relationship I've had with the family. She got married at age 18 with her first husband. They'd been dating since she was 14 and they decided to get married after they got into a horrible car accident. After the wedding, he became extremely abusive and would starve her. At the worst, she was 100 pounds and he still called her fat. He cheated on her and treated her like garbage. She left him after 8 months of marriage and never looked back.
While she was still with her husband, she met who would become her second husband and my boyfriend's dad. He was in a band and had multiple lovers. She ended up contracting multiple STDS from him, and she actually believed him when he said she got scabies because "he let a girl try on his pants." They ended up getting married and he started stealing money from her and her dad to support his gambling addiction. She ended up getting knocked up and he wasn't really happy about it once my boyfriend was born. She told him he could either choose between her and their son, or his band. He chose the band. My boyfriend would see him regularly until he was 5 years old and his dad moved to Las Vegas, and my almost 23 year old boyfriend hasn't heard from him since he was 15.
She has never been able to get over him. She always tells my boyfriend that he looks just like his dad and sounds just like his dad when he sings, and whenever she says it she bites her lip and looks at her son the way a woman would look at a man who was down on one knee serenading her. It's super creepy. She claims that the fact that her husband left her is the reason why she's so clingy and overprotective of my boyfriend. It reeks of a Jocasta Complex and makes me feel extremely uncomfortable.
After her second husband left, she met her on/off boyfriend. They've now been associated with each other for 20 years, basically ever since my boyfriend was a small child. He's had multiple long term relationships with other women while being with Missy, the most notable being a 5 year long relationship. He cheats on her constantly, abuses prescription drugs, treats her like garbage, abuses her, and has always expected her to choose him over her son no matter how young my boyfriend was. He's a disgusting person and a raging conspiracy theorist. Missy excuses everything he does because his dad is a Vietnam War Veteran, which doesn't make sense to me. She says he has depression and that's why he treats her so badly. The problem is that he refuses to get help for his depression and insists that he doesn't have it.
As his mom started to get to know me, she had a few really big problems with me. I'm bisexual, I have depression and anxiety, and I'm childfree. I also have large breasts, which she just can't get over and feels the need to frequently talk about in a derogatory way. She would hint to me that my boyfriend would be better off with his ex that got pregnant, because "he didn't hate kids until YOU came around!" even though my boyfriend dislikes kids even more than I do. She started an argument in the middle of a Walmart because we don't want kids. She claims he can't be with someone "like me", due to my bisexuality. She thinks I'm just a closeted lesbian and will leave him for a woman or cheat on him. So it's okay for her boyfriend to cheat, but because I'm bisexual I'm suddenly a horrible person. She says I'm too "unstable" for my boyfriend to be with, even though her own boyfriend of 20 years has at least 3 other girlfriends at this very moment and has abused her the entire time we've been together.
The first time I considered leaving my boyfriend was in early June of 2014, about 5 months into our relationship. The day before, my boyfriend told his mom to stop mentioning his exes to me because it was in the past and didn't matter now. The next day I went to their house on a Friday night, and his mom started screaming in my face telling me that I couldn't tell her what she could and couldn't talk about in her own house. She told me I was crazy and ridiculous for not wanting to hear about his exes, and even told me that I should be okay being friends with them because her hairdresser is her boyfriend's ex. She said I was insecure and shouldn't be with her son if I can't handle hearing about his past.
I went upstairs, grabbed all the things that belonged to me in the house, and stormed out and called my mom. I told my boyfriend it was over because I couldn't deal with his mom. I went home. The next day my boyfriend came to my house and somehow convinced me to come back, although at this point I wish I hadn't. This is probably a good place to stop right now. I'll be posting more later. I promise it gets worse from here.
