Roguelites is a sub about games which are not traditional Roguelikes, but contain some features of them such as procedural generation, permadeath, et cetera. These games often distinguish themselves from traditional Roguelikes with features such as meta-progression, and span across many, many other genres.

2024.05.14 08:30 Michamus Why Synde Could Have Never Won

Within days of the Synde Co. vs Hawks Co. war erupting, I predicted on this subreddit that Hawks was going to demolish Synde. Many folks ridiculed me, as Hawks appeared to be losing. From all outside perspectives, the constant collapse of farms was indicating Hawks was indeed going to lose. However, this was never the case.

1. Zero sum game.

Within the global economy (and competitive video games too), personnel are a zero sum game. There are only so many professionals in our world and corporations compete for them. This oftentimes means highly educated people in developing nations will end up leaving for wealthier developed nations. This is to the detriment of those developing nations.
The same exists in wormholes.
Elite groups oftentimes have their pick of candidates. They can be selective. Once someone meets their criteria, they can allow time to see if they fit the general culture of the group. If they create a little too much friction, they're booted. This leads to a generally cohesive group. So, envision if you will, a giant funnel with the very narrowest of necks. This narrow neck represents the top wormhole groups being fed the best wormholers in the game.
Lazerhawks was established 10 years ago from the merger of several already existing successful wormhole and low sec groups. They have had their pick of the best wormholers for a decade, on top of some of the best wormholers establishing them.

2. Where do the players go?

In wormhole groups, players will oftentimes not even be playing EVE, rather 'other games' together. This is generally due to the variable nature of day-to-day wormhole life. This leads to groups sticking together even during EVE breaks. Also, it creates loyalty beyond the game of EVE Online. When players take long breaks, even from the group, still active group members can still get in contact with them. Oftentimes small sub-groups will have eachother's real phone numbers. This means if a war breaks out, people who have been AFG for years can be quickly re-activated. Many times these players are only active during wartime.
The worst thing a wormhole group could ever do is ban 'other games.'
Lazerhawks has always highly encouraged members playing 'other games' together.

3. The abyss!

People forget how ancient many members of Hawks are. Their CEO has been playing EVE for 20 years. Hawks has quite a few members that have been living in wormholes for as long as wormholes have existed in EVE Online. Hawks has line members that have successfully run independent wormhole groups that subsequently merged with Hawks to form Lazerhawks. Hawks has members that are so old and deep in wormhole space culture, that they've crafted portions of it. People where their entire map of EVE Online is based on wormhole connections.
Each of these sort of members capable of not just operating independently, but with the utmost stealth. I've been told by several Hawks folks that even top Hawks leadership wasn't aware of the independent eviction groups Hawks line members had created for fighting Synde. Imagine, EVE leaders out there, discovering that you're not losing the war nearly as badly as you thought, because several 2-3 person groups had independently started reinforcing and destroying enemy structures? Imagine then also discovering that your enemy is stalling because of these actions?
Ancient players don't need to be told if they can or can't shoot blue targets.
Ancient players don't ask if they can farm while a war is going on.
Ancient players don't ask if the system they found 'is a target.'
Ancient players don't need SRP.
Ancient players won't waste your time with unimportant information.
Ancient players are already on that new incoming signature with a rolling carrier.
Ancient players play EVE by the ancient ways.

4. Kiddie gloves.

Many people aren't aware of this fact; Hawks has been using kiddie gloves for the last couple of years on Synde. After the fall of HK, Hawks stood alone as the supreme masters of wormholes. Synde was starting to become a potential candidate for a new fledgling group, that is until this war started. The issue was, Synde often didn't want to fight Hawks. They would demand handicaps, like being "allowed 30 seconds after jumping into the wormhole" to "get into position." This actually didn't bother Hawks too much, as they simply wanted to fight. The handicaps became more and more extreme, with Synde regularly saying they wouldn't fight unless allowed to set up at (whatever range their comp was ideal at) and
So, all the fights you've seen between Hawks and Synde have effectively been fights where Hawks took major handicaps to make happen.
This created a false sense of strength in Synde. This handicap play actually strengthened Hawks, while weakening Synde. Hawks got to the point where they became more interested in pulling stunts on Synde than actually fighting. One such situation involved a Synde Zirnitra falling for a POS bubble trap and being summararily executed in front of its fleet, which was trying to frantically free itself of warp disruption bubbles.
Once the war started, the kiddie gloves came off. Hawks no longer had to be nice to get fights.

5. Cyrus v. Michael

At the end of the day, failure or success during wartime comes down to how well your organization is prepared. Cyrus thought he was prepared. Honestly, he did a lot of work. He created a narrative, albeit a bit ad hoc when compared to other recorded statements he's made. He created a coalition. He made his best preparations for war, I'm sure. He even had a major null sec group to bat phone, in case of emergency only.
The issue is, Cyrus' relationship with reality is a bit convenient for his personal image. He has been said to have lied to many wormhole leaders in order to start this war, which actually harmed him, quite a bit. I've received many reports on the various lies people have said Cyrus told them to get them to join his Coalition. Trust is a thing that, once broken, is oftentimes impossible to regain.
Michael has the opposite approach of Cyrus. He is sincere and honest to a fault. He's not afraid to express disappointment and praise. You know where you stand with Michael fairly soon after first meeting him. He's a natural delegator and a dedicated farmer. "Why can't you do it?" is his favorite response to anyone complaining about something needing to be done. He's extremely competent, but not smug about it. He's the first to admit when he makes mistakes. He was willing to use some of his credit to barter with his peers to hand over some c6 wormholes Cyrus felt entitled to. C6 holes that Hawks characters likely found, or evicted, themselves.
You see, Michael has created a coalition within Hawks. Hawks has never been a single entity. There are subgroups within Hawks that operate independently. Some of the subgroups are actually more ancient than Hawks. They're more ancient than all but the most ancient null sec alliances. How are you going to kill the morale of members that have been playing together for over 10 years? Those guys aren't going to second-guess who their enemy is for even a second. They've won every war they've been in for 10, 12, 15, or even 20 years!
There's a joke I keep hearing from Hawks Co. members. It's "Synde thought they could take on Lazerhawks, but they couldn't even take on a few of their members."
At the end of the day, this was never going to be a fair fight. Hawks was always going to clobber Synde. While the reasons listed above are major contributing factors to the success of Hawks, it's the basic culture that really makes Hawks so great. Hawks see wormholes as wild. As something you have to earn. Cyrus made it clear he felt entitled to it. He thought it was so obvious that he'd earned a seat at the table, that he was incredulous that he was not offered that seat as a gift.
Cyrus,
The moment you demanded systems be given to you as some sort of prize is the moment you stopped being a wormholer.
You're not losing to Hawks Co, rather, in your hubris you've defeated yourself.
May all future wormholes collapse as you land on them.

2024.05.14 08:28 mr_bubbleg Looking for a game that I can grind solo/multiplayer without it being too repetetive.

Games which I can grind for a long time in solo/multiplayer that arent just doing the same thing over n over.
Examples of such games that I enjoyed a lot: -war thunder -league -warframe -guild wars 2
I am looking for something that I can play alone but also has multiplayer preferably, like the games I listed.
No gear treadmill preferably where the only thing that I am gaining are bigger numbers and nothing else.
No games like monster hunter where its kind of a "boss rush".
No Destiny, Valheim, Borderlands games.
I dont want to pay a monthly sub in case of mmos for example, so only one time purchases/free to play games please.
This is a repost bc I added quite a few new things to the post.

2024.05.14 08:26 Ambitious-Nebula9638 1400 on Lichess and 500 on Chess.com

Hey all, Ive read that there is a disparity between ratings on Lichess and chess.com however my one is massive wondering if anyone knows why or has had this experience. Btw I've just started playing about a month ago and grinded chess.com. I only really play Rapid seriously and it seems my current skill ceiling is about 550 as those games are well fought and I get beaten by persons higher rated than that. I moved over to Lichess recently to get free game analyses and have beaten players ranging from 1400-1600 enough that that has cemented my rating at exactly 1400. How could this be the case?
Edit: sorry if this type of question has been asked a few times or is not for this sub

2024.05.14 08:25 PRSJ_13 Fear of breaking bland diet causing worse symptoms?

I just commented this on a post but wanted to see others experiences/ thoughts on this viewpoint- I will give my back story for context
I have been suffering with gastritis for 4 months (also have GERD and have had these symptoms for roughly the same amount of time in Jan last year) GI initially thought I had eosinophilic oesophagitis which was not confirmed by scope. Through trial and error I discovered that gluten triggered my symptoms and stopped eating it for 8 months which resolved my symptoms by around may last year, roughly 3 months into diet. During that time I ate healthy, home cooked everything, ate a wide variety of foods, spices, vegetables + meats and dairy. I mainly restricted processed foods, alcohol, chilli and acidic tomato. (I could eat everything and drink alcohol once healed)
Fast forward to Jan this year, symptoms make a comeback with a literal vengeance but I am GF so no idea what is causing it. Got an endoscopy and confirmed moderate linear gastritis with erosions + mild oesophagitis (non-allergy related and no signs of coeliac but I was gluten free @ the time of scope)
This led me to try to do things differently than last year because I assumed gluten was not the sole cause of this problem and wanted to rid of it forever, plus I had a diagnosis. So this sub reddit (bless it’s fkn soul) was my source for healing and I began the bland diet, cutting out literally everything except for rice, chicken/ organic gf chicken sausages, eggs and salmon (as I went on I included oats and home made almond butte a variety of herbal teas)
I followed an extremely strict supplement regimen without ppi (they caused a nervous breakdown when I tried them the year prior) I used MSM, collostrum, collagen, gelatin, Manuka honey (actually a god send and strongly recommend) and as I went I added coconut kefir, cabbage juice twice a day and aloe Vera juice twice a day.
I literally did not step out of line with this diet for 3 whole months. Not one mouthful, whiff or taste of a food outside of that and diligently took my supplements every day. I saw considerable improvement after the first month and then into the second month I stalled.
This is where it is interesting because I booked a Europe trip in October before relapsing, and I was without exaggerating, absolutely terrified of going over there with this illness. The thought of not being able to control my food/ bring my juicer for the cabbage or find dairy free kefir actually made me feel sick. And I think many of you can relate to that.
Anyway fast forward to 2 weeks before the trip, I’m about 75% better and have good days and bad days, I think it is important to note that the bad days caused significant distress and fear that I was regressing after getting better for the first month. It’s also important to note that I have not 100% confirmed my root cause at this point.
Because my GI told me I am not coeliac and gluten is likely fine, I started incorporating some sourdough toast/ fermented wheat products. Initially I responded absolutely fine to these. Once I decided I needed to break the diet in preparation for my trip I actually ate a donut and had minimal reaction.
About 9 days before the trip I started getting SEVERE lower belly cramping after every meal I consumed. At times I considered going to to the ER, even while I sat a final exam (RIP). At first I thought it was the folinic acid supplement I had incorporated (research on this shows it reverses damage in atrophic gastritis patients over 6 months of use so I thought it would be helpful) and I stopped it immediately but symptoms worsened. I came to the conclusion after the final exam fiasco (had 2 pieces of almond butter sourdough) that I am probably coeliac/ wheat allergy and the scope did not show damage because I had already been GF for 8 months (need to eat a gluten filled diet for 6 weeks for coeliac testing to be conclusive)
So I went back to my GF diet and the symptoms persisted and got worse. During this time my gastritis was also flaring up I think because of the distress from the pain and at this time I incorporated a half dose/ day of esomsprazole (the weakest PPI on the market, honestly for more mental reassurance than anything). And I know this is long as hell but stay with me, the details matter,
I decided I’m just going to have to cop the awful health and go on the trip (I genuinely considered cancelling and staying home because it was so fucked) but I just took a massive gamble and went. I just happened to speak to a naturopath @ work that day who suggested taking digestive enzymes for the trip to aid with the tummy ache (and for those fresh in the gastritis journey I would strongly recommend these, have had a huge impact for me)
This was 4 days ago, I’ve been in Paris for 4 days and it is absolutely impossible to get food that will fit these dietary requirements. I cannot get cabbage juice or straight aloe Vera water, I can’t find an organic butcher and I honestly thought it would be more miserable to subscribe to my frankly militant routine with my eating.
And therein lies the miracle- I chose to accept my health as it was, and accept the situation for the potentially shit reality that it may have been, and I just started eating food and breaking my diet. I started with plain rice and kebab meat with garlic sauce (extremely bold I know) and had some light symptoms that went away very quickly. It is essential to note that I was really scared to eat this meal but knew I needed to do it.
The following day I felt empowered and decided to try some restaurant food that was heavily seasoned, and I had a glass of wine. When I tell you I literally could not believe that I didn’t drop dead from the relapse I thought that would cause, I realised that for me (and potentially some of you long term sufferers) that the anxiety of coming out from under the safety blanket of the bland diet and extreme restriction was keeping me sick. Each day I have felt more emboldened and less scared and therefore have eaten further into my list of fear foods. This includes Mexican food (spicy + citrus) a matcha latte and an enjoyable amount of alcohol.
I genuinely cannot believe that this is how it’s going and it made me wonder what part the psychological damage this condition does to us, has on the maintenance of the illness or worsening of symptoms that cannot be explained by diet/ lifestyle changes.
I absolutely want to acknowledge the real suffering that this condition cause, I have experienced it and we can all agree it’s fucked, but I would be remiss to ignore that it seems my actual (seeming) recovery from this illness was made complete by letting go of the fea anxiety and accepting whatever outcome I got. I genuinely think that the crippling mental health aspect could be responsible for ongoing, indefinite suffering that I see on this sub. Because obviously the bland diet/ supplements and (potentially) confirming root cause had huge impact on my physiological healing and it could not have been achieved without that work,
BUT, I could never seem to shake it fully. It’s like the fear of the illness keeps it going/ stagnated at like 75% or regressing.
I am interested to know everyone’s thoughts. This will obviously not be a method for those early in healing, but may give hope to those long term sufferers
TLDR: I am able to eat all of my trigger foods after deciding to let go of the mental safety net that is bland diet/ gastritis recovery protocol, which leads me to question if psychological distress associated w/ gastritis is keeping us sick

[Routine help] Looking to get rid of the dots on my nose and darkness around my mouth
Hi! I'm looking for help on how to get rid of the little dots I have on my nose and darkness I have around my mouth.
I have an allergy to salicylic acid (gave me impetigo once) and any of its derivatives, such as benzoates, and can only ever really tolerate them in wash off products. I'm told it helps a lot with nose bumps but it isn't really a viable option for me right now. I'm using lactic acid as my exfoliant but it doesn't seem to have much of an effect.
I also have some darkness around my mouth that I get pretty insecure about. I had a bad reaction once to another product I used to love but was reformulated to contain a salicylic acid derivative and I ended up having a bad reaction to it, where I was flaking and peeling and the skin burned, but it left a dark ring from the corners of my nose down to my chin. I've since removed the product from my routine and subbed it out with something else.
(if I could ask for routine advice on how to fix an asymmetrical face I would too, haha!)
Any and all help would be much appreciated 💕
Current routine: AM: ● Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser ● Pyunkang yul essence toner ● The ordinary caffeine solution ● Soul apothecary vitamin c brighting serum ● Purito centella unscented serum ● Heimish matcha biome oil free calming gel moisturizer ● Hot sorry intensive sun cream
PM: ● When I wear makeup: Beauty of Joseon radiance cleansing balm ● Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser ● Pyunkang yul essence toner ● Cosrx advanced snail 96 mucin power essence ● Good molecules hyaluronic acid serum ● Good molecules niacinamide serum ● Twice a week: Apotheke science brightening night retinol serum ● Twice a week: No fuss lactic acid 10% + HA serum ● Pond's watermelon jelly moisturizer ● Beauty of Joseon revive eye serum: Ginseng + retinal

2024.05.14 07:14 ScholarGrade Juniors - NOW is the time to start brainstorming essays

There have been an increasing number of juniors visiting this sub asking for advice about writing essays. Below are some tips and advice for making your essay stand out as excellent. Feel free to ask questions because I will answer every single question in the comments.
I know from experience that many of you are struggling to identify a good topic for your essay. Conventional wisdom says to start by brainstorming a list of potential topics, and chances are, you have already started a mental list of ideas. You might think you only have a few choices for topics, based on your activities or experiences, or essay examples you read, or the rough draft you already started (or worse, that GPT started...). I advise, however, that you put down your list of topics and back away from it. Forget that exists for a moment. Seriously - thinking about this initial list tethers you to certain ideas that might not actually be your best options.
Now you can begin brainstorming with a clean slate.
Start with thinking about what you want to show in your entire application, not just one essay. Every single component in your app has one purpose – to tell more about YOU. Filling out the rest of the application by rote and focusing solely on the essay is short-sighted and will leave so much potential untapped in your application.

It's About You. Tell Your Story - And Be The Protagonist

An admissions officer’s goal is to understand you fully, in the context of your background and the rest of the applicant pool. They will begin this with assessing your academic abilities and potential. Then they will evaluate how you will fit into the student body they’re trying to curate. All of this can be somewhat broad and diverse and touch on several institutional goals. But they will dig deep to find out what each applicant is like, what your core values and motivations are, what kind of student you will be, how you will contribute to the vibrant and intellectual campus community they’re building, etc.
Your goal with essay brainstorming is to ascertain how to powerfully tell your story in a manner that will fit these criteria. The entirety of your application (again, not just one essay) aims to showcase your abilities, qualifications, and uncommon attributes as a person in a positive way. Before you begin outlining or writing your application, you must determine what is unique about you that will stand out to an admissions panel. All students are truly unique. Not one other student has the same combination of life experiences, personality, passions, or goals as you do. Your job in your application is to frame your unique personal attributes in a positive and compelling way. How will you fit on campus? What personal qualities, strengths, core values, talents, or different perspectives do you bring to the table? What stories, deeper motivations/beliefs, or formative experiences can you use to illustrate all of this?
It is always helpful to start with some soul-searching or self-examination. You might not immediately know what you want to share about yourself. It’s not a simple task to decide how to summarize your whole life and being in a powerful and eloquent way on your application. Introspection prior to starting your application takes additional time and effort rather than jumping straight into your first draft. But it is also a valuable method to start writing a winning application that stands out from the stack.
You'll see the advice everywhere that all essay prompts are really about the same thing - you. The goal of each essay then is to showcase who you are, what matters to you, and how you think. I guarantee if you're on this sub enough, you'll hear the advice to "show, don't tell" when writing about yourself. But what does this mean really, and how do you do it well? How do you even get started on an essay that does this?

Introspection Questions

It’s often easiest to start thinking in terms of superlatives, especially those related to personal insights -- what are the most meaningful things about you, and what do you value the most? Here is a list of questions to help you brainstorm broadly before you narrow down your focus for writing:
I have a free introspection worksheet with over 100 questions like this designed to help you find ideas worth exploring in your essays. You can find it on the A2C Discord or download it directly here.

Find Your Story And Arc

Think of a small anecdote or story from your life that you could share that serves as a microcosm of who you are and what is important to you. It will massively help you narrow this down and find a gem of a story if you first start by thinking about your application arc or theme. This is the one-phrase summary of your entire application. It could be "brilliant entrepreneur who started her own successful business" or "talented athlete who wants to study economics and finance as they pertain to sports", or even "avid baker whose hobby sparked an interest in chemistry". It doesn't have to be related to your intended major, but it can help your arc be stronger and clearer if it is.
Once you have an arc determined and a story to share, think about what you want that story to say about you. This is where it can help to think of this as something you would share on a date - what impression does it make about you to the reader? Once you know this, start showing, not telling this attribute of yourself through your story. For example, instead of saying that you're compassionate toward others, you show an example of a time you were compassionate, then elaborate on why, and what it means to you.

Essay Brainstorming Techniques

If you are having trouble finding a story, or simply have writer’s block once you have picked your topic, here are some ideas to get your juices flowing:

Why Essays Matter

Here's the thing a lot of people don't realize about college admission: it's not an award for being the smartest, most accomplished, or most impressive. It's an invitation to join a community. Far too many students think that if they can just show that they're smart enough, they'll get in. Yale even says right on their admissions website that 75% of their applicants are academically qualified to succeed at Yale. But only ~4% are getting in. That should tell you that they're looking for more than just top tier test scores and grades. To be perfectly clear, you will need top tier grades and (optionally) test scores to show that you're qualified, and the vast majority of my students come to me with this part already in the bank. But what sets the admits apart? It's personal insight - sharing who you are, how you think, what matters to you, and how you engage community. You can't just say "/IAmVerySmart, please admit me," or even "I did a cool thing guys! Isn't that neat!" You need to go deeper and show them your core values, personal strengths, motivations, aspirations, character traits, foundational beliefs, personality, etc. And you need to do it in a charming, winsome way that makes them like you and want to invite you to join their community.
So how do I get students to do this? All of my students complete that introspection worksheet. We go through it and find the stories, examples, anecdotes, conversations, memories, relationships, and other things from their life that will help us craft a strong and personally insightful narrative. We also make lists of the values, strengths, and key personal qualities we want to showcase. Once we have some topics, outlines, abstracts, or rough drafts, we talk about which stories to tell where, how to tell them well, and what details to include to present the best they have to offer. Then we refine, edit, polish, and enhance over and over until the story sings, but more importantly shows their heart and soul. We also go through all the other application components to ensure consistency, quality, and distinctiveness.
Here's why this works so well: at most highly selective colleges there is a primary reader (or 2-3) who will review everything first and then present it to the admissions committee, who then votes on whether to admit you. That presentation typically goes one of three ways:
  1. Total enthusiasm, energy, and excitement. They strongly advocate for admission and paint a clear picture of how you will contribute to their goals and community. Everyone in the room picks up on that energy and is leaning forward in their chairs, looking for reasons to admit you. This is quite rare, generally less than 5 out of every 100 applications, even among those which are "fully qualified." When you do this right, you show depth, meaning, and valuable personal insights so the reviewer is learning about who you are and how you might engage the community they're curating. You come alive off the page as a person, not just another file.
  2. Business as usual. You're another great applicant in a pile of great applicants. They share a basic review of the facts, your profile, stats, strengths, weaknesses, etc. Maybe someone on the committee finds something they love, and they really push for admission. More likely, not and you get deferred/waitlisted even though there wasn't anything "wrong" with your application. They just didn't love you enough to commit.
  3. "Here's a stack of 20 applications that I didn't find all that compelling, so we won't present them individually, but you guys are the committee and you make the decisions. So let me know if there are any you want to talk about." In this case, unless there's a letter of endorsement from an athletics coach or your last name matches several buildings on campus, you're probably not getting additional consideration, much less admission. They will regret to inform you.
Everything we're doing is designed to help them get to know themselves, present the best they have to offer, and land in that first group. Having top tier essays is the single best way to get there. Get started on brainstorming in the next few weeks so you'll have time to get a few essays completed over the summer.

2024.05.14 07:14 gforguwopppp This Sub is Moderated.

Lately there have been multiple threads over the last few days complaining about the posting of various topics, the direction of the sub, and a general lack of moderation.
The reality is that Black Men have been complaining about overpolicing on this sub for years. Because of those complaints the moderators have been letting us cook and debate freely. We are free to debate and share our opinions on any topic we like but if you do your due diligence you will see that nonsensical, hate filled posts are deleted just like any in other sub.
Just a quick community note. Continue doing your thing brothers.

2024.05.14 07:12 Operationmongoloid Welcome👽.

Firstly I would like to welcome all members to the sub, it’s awesome to have so many people here as we try and grow the community. The reason I started the sub was just have a space where we all could discuss the episodes without moderation as I was sensing a little frustration over on the original sub, in no way would I like this place to become an arena of hate or criticism towards the channel or its creators as I’m working under the assumption that if you are here then you are what I am, a big fan of channel who genuinely looks forward to each new episode.
Secondly, if anyone has any ideas or suggestions on ways to grow the sub or make it bette more fun then feel free to message me or post below.

2024.05.14 07:11 TheBankersFart Idk what to do

So, I thought the pc I recently built would be more than enough to handle what I was looking to do, but after some gaming I’m not sure. I’m just looking for advice on what I could be missing and my options going forward as this was my first build.
My main goal for the pc was to be able to play StarCraft 2 at max settings as smooth as possible. A game that is 20+ years old.. Other than that some light Microsoft Word/Excel, and your general internet surfing, bill paying, YouTube activities.
My gaming experience has been sub optimal for the most part but I’ve experienced SOME really good sessions as well. More laggy lower FPS games than smooth higher FPS games. How do I make it a better gaming experience?
Motherboard: ASRock B650I LIGHTNING WIFI AM5 Ryzen 7000 AMD B650 SATA 6Gb/s Mini-ITX s DDR5
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB GDDR6
Memory: DDR5 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) 6000MHz (PC5-48000) CL30 Intel XMP 3.0 & AMD
Storage: Samsung 990 PRO Series - 1TB PCIe Gen4. X4 NVMe 2.0c - M.2 Internal SSD
Power Supply: Corsair SF Series, SF750, 750 Watt, SFX, 80+ Platinum Certified, Fully Modular Power Supply
My CPU temps range from 70 -75c My GPU temps range from 48 -50c My internet connection ranges from 930 - 950 MBPS.
I have dowloaded all the drivers, updated the software, turned off background apps, connected FreesSync and made sure the bios for the motherboard reflected the components correctly.
What can/should I do next?

2024.05.14 07:07 phytowave Recovery Stories

It's become nightly routing while battling with the returning insomnia/anxiety I originally drank to cope with for me to scroll through this sub for comfort. I am determined to make it out the other side as healed as I can be but there's days like today where I have a bad panic attack and the odd body/head sensations of readjustment and just living life that I've been numb to for so long make the whole thing feel so hopeless. I'm trying to think of it as there's a light at the end of the tunnel, I just can't see it yet since I just stepped inside.
Brief ramble to say feel free to share your success stories, especially if you struggled with PAWS anxiety and had wins in getting through it, even if it isn't 100% yet progress is still a huge motivator (I did have anxiety before binge drinking but it was never this bad or out of nowhere and it's easy to get trapped in the feeling it will never end). Share a glimpse of that light!

2024.05.14 07:06 Howlin_Rakan COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS / GENERAL QUESTIONS MEGATHREAD

We have compiled a short list of commonly asked questions that we have seen time and time again asked on the sub, hoping it will put an end to these posts and help keep the sub neater. This post is ALSO available for general questions; if you have any sort of question about the game, feel free to ask it here in the comments, and another sub member or moderator may answer it if able!

Question 1- Will the game have [xxx] language?
Answer 1: [Leak] : List of the languages in folders are: DE, EN, ES, FR, ID, JA, KO, PT, RU, TH, VI, ZH-Hans, ZH-hant. Note: Not all of them are implemented in the game yet. Some may not be ready for the release. We don't know.
Answer 2: [Confirmed] : List of the confirmed audio languages are: CN (Simplified), JP, KO, EN. List of the confirmed text languages are: CN (Simplified), CN (Traditional), EN, JP, KO, FR, DE, ES (Spain).
Question 2- Is there going to be a console port? Or controller support?
Answer: Xbox controller is supported. There's a video of IGN japan playing the game on a console (https://youtu.be/dAfYodnn5lc). Also Kuro Games made it clear that there will be a console port (https://www.theloadout.com/wuthering-waves/ps5-release-date). However we do not know any details just yet of the console port and have no knowledge of if they will have it ready for the release date or how long it will take after release.
Question 3: Banners (1.0 - 1.1 - 1.2)?
Answer: 1.0 = Jiyan first, then Yinlin. Not confirmed in that way, but it's like 99% at this point. We don't know much about later banners but there are some clues like an achievement related to Camellya is in files already so she'll most likely be in 1.1, Jinhsi (Jinxi) is also confirmed to be a Electro Sword user in Sanhua story part-5 (Thawing Frost). It's safe to assume they are 1.1 characters, but take this with a grain of salt and not as confirmed. There's no clue for 1.2 banners.
Question 4: Is the beginner banner being selective leak true? How does it work? What happened to CBT2 beginner banner?
Answer: It is true that we can select a character. Only standard characters are selectable. Current leaks show that the pity is 80. CBT2 beginner banner (non selective) pity was 50, so we don't know if 80 is a placeholder or it's changed. We also don't know what happened to the previous beginner banner. Note: The leaked Encore banner looks edited because it is the leakers who compile the images together. They had the information and separated image parts of the banner, but the "leaked" image is compiled by them. They can make such minor mistakes, but that doesn't mean the leak is fake.

2024.05.14 06:45 leif20 Doom and Gloom - Unhelpful Posts. But there are exercise options to help OSD

I came to this sub hoping to find solutions but instead finding a lot of gloomy posts. Most recommend surgery which is not reasonable for the vast majority. This sub should have non-surgical intervention information as well. Theres lots of talk online about doomscrolling and how bad it can be for mental health, I view this sub as a form of doomscrolling for OSD. Well, i'm here to change that.
I'm 33m and had OSD when i was 14-17 ish, but it resolved itself. I took up powerlifting when i was 23/24, and have trained with heavy weights off and on for the last 10 years or so. I do have some lingering injuries from when I was younger (ankles and hip). Recently my knee decided it would flare up and the pain has made it impossible to train the way I like to. Squatting or lunging would give me sharp pain, 6-8/10 scale. Taking time off from training didn't help either. I was thinking to go surgery, but speaking with various Dr's here made it clear that was a poor option. All suggested pysio and stretching. I'm not a huge fan of physio and now that I have a newborn I don't have that kind of time.
I started digging a bit more and the physiotherapy route became more appealing, but I would do it myself in place of my old workouts. Better to be a bit weaker and pain free than train through the pain and end up broken. The more reading I did, the more I realized that OSD is effectively a tendonitis or tendinopathy, with the added bonus of having a painful protrusion on the tibia. But given that it's a tendinopathy, that can be treated. Typical treatment for tendinopathy is load reduction, static stretching, dynamic stretching (mobility), and physiotherapy. I also did some searching and found This Post on a running subreddit about how a slantboard helped someone with OSD.
Searching for slantboards and exercises with them, I came across Knees over Toes Guy, specifically this video. Its a bit long-winded, but the main takeaway are to do the following exercises:
  1. Backwards walking (preferably on a treadmill with the power off, but can be done outside in a safe place on a flat surface)
  2. Tib raises (leaning your back on a wall, try to have your toes touch your shins)
  3. Calf Raises
  4. Single leg split squat, but with heel and/or foot elevated, can use a pole or stick to balance. Add weight as appropriate
  5. 'Patrick' Squat (single leg step down squat)
I do 4 sets of 15 or 20 for each exercise. it should take you about half hour. You may not be able to train as much or as hard if you're taking this on.
The goal for all these is to engage your knee and patellar tendon in a targeted manner, in movement patterns that are safe and aligned with the function of the knee. So far these are working great for me. I have gone from a baseline pain of 3-4/10 to a 0-1/10, and during exercise my pain is now 1-3/10 instead of the 6-8/10. Of course I havent resumed heavy lifting, but even doing simple exercises would hurt and now I don't have as much pain.
In terms of mobility, This video shows you what dynamic stretches you can do to help with the knee. To simplify, the exercises are:
Big toe stretch. slant board calves stretch calves raises 3 sets of 20 hamstring stretch on slant board J-Curl on slant-board 90 90 position . ISO hold harder version butterfly stretch . Hands or dumbbell couch stretch 10-15 sec ATG KOT split squat ( start elevated and assisted.
Try this for a couple weeks, if you're here you're probably fed up with your situation and want some help. Not much downside to giving it a go.

2024.05.14 06:31 sadisticprick5 25 [M4F] #Fresno #California - I'm looking for a girl who loves being used

I'm looking for the girl who's too shy to admit she wants to be a fucktoy. It's something you've always wanted, but you feel it's too perverted to ask for it. Maybe this will make you feel better, I've got plenty of desires I'd never admit in public either. Here's some of my favorites to make it easier for you: Hatefucking, Bondage, anal/painal, CNC, Humiliation/Degradation, various dom/sub dynamics, free use. If you're the type of girl to get wet when you read that list, shoot me a dm and I'll take it from there.
I'm looking for Women only, 18+, don't care how little/how much experience you've got. I look forward to chatting with you.

2024.05.14 06:19 mgstauff Ice Cream and peanut butter sauce

First post! First post! Well, yeah I created the sub so it's a hollow victory. But I'm excited anyway!
Here's one of my favorite not-too-sweet treats to kick things off:
Nada Moo Vanilla ice cream (dairy-free - sadly can't do dairy anymore) and home made peanut-butter sauce (dark-roasted, salted, unsweetened, emulsifier-free peanut butter and some melted nada moo to thin it) - heaven!
Nada Moo is great - many flavors have about half the sugar of regular ice creams (and no non-sugar sweeteners).
Of course use regular ice cream if you can. Making your own peanut butter sauce like this still cuts down on the sugar, and tastes way better too.

2024.05.14 06:15 AutoModerator Restricted Tuesday: Disability & Diversity Spotlight

Hello everyone!
This month features the following Spotlight Topic: Mental Health Awareness Month
Going forward, each month we will now be spotlighting various causes and awareness events. Spotlight topics are not mutually exclusive, but given just how many notable causes and awareness events, we can't list all of them in a single post. Please visit our Google Calendar to view other deserving causes and feel free to talk about them and your experiences!

It's Tuesday and you know what that means, the sub is in restricted mode (meaning you can comment on existing posts but cannot make a new post for the day). We started this as a protest against Reddit back in June/July but it was decided that we would continue restricting each Tuesday for a few reasons.
1: To encourage people to get off of Reddit for a day and do something else, anything else. Pet a cat, write a fic, touch some grass, go see a movie, whatever. Just go do something else than Reddit for a day if you are able.
2: To give the mods a day off/a day to work on secondary tasks for the sub and clean things up each week
And lastly and most importantly...
3: To spend the day highlighting and discussing disability, accessibility, and diversity. AO3 has always been very good on accessibility and a lot of the world and internet is not, and fandom spaces have been known to be not the best about disability or diversity, so while we are restricted we like to shine a light on these often overlooked parts of fandom and the people that make up this group. So we have these threads where you can post your fic recs and self-promo about anything to do with disability and/or diversity, and also so people have a safe space to share their stories and discuss these topics.
Given the nature of this thread as a safe space for discussion of disability and diversity, we will be much stricter regarding civility and harassment. This includes the following thread specific rules:
Do not derail: No hijacking the thread for unrelated topics/discussions.
Do not talk over others: Everyone has their own individual experiences and challenges that may differ, and we ask that you show each other respect and do not talk over those sharing their experiences.

If you are sharing a rec or self-promo with these themes, please use the following format:

My job has allowed me to save enough money to pay off my student loans and be Debt free. I have a new car, I rent(don’t own property), and am sub 30 y/o.
Do you lean more towards the Dave ramsey philosophy or do you think in this economy it’s best to sit, wait and be aggressive w that pool of money?
