I remember seeing a movie as a kid back in the late 80s where the final scene is, I believe, British actor Dudley Moore accidentally hanging himself. From what I remember, he's in his house with a noose around his neck standing on a chair reading either the suicide note or letter he means to send to, I think, some woman that he's in love with. As he's reading it he reconsiders suicide but his dog runs into the room and knocks over the chair and the last shot is either the chair knocked over or a shot of his legs swinging.
This is what I remember, the details could be off. And, in particular, since I've gone through Dudley Moore's entire filmography on wikipedia and didn't find any movie that mentioned any of that I may have the actor wrong too. But I'm pretty sure it's Dudley Moore.

No other medical conditions. No other medications or supplements.
On May 2nd I saw my gp for uti symptoms. No sample was taken (I assume because having a uti is common for me). Prescribed Sulphamethoxazole. After completion of prescription I still felt uti symptoms. I called my gp who then prescribed Nitrofurantoin (May 6). Before I completed the prescription I woke up May 10th with flank pain and low grade fever. Pain was intense so I went to the er. After running blood tests and a culture on urine, I was diagnosed with a kidney infection and prescribed Cephpodoxime.
Started to feel better May 12th and was almost back to normal yesterday, May 13th.
Today (May 14th) I am experiencing uti symptoms again (not as bad but definitely present) and a tingling in my left thigh.
Does this warrant a trip back to the doctor or do I wait it out and finish this 3rd round of antibiotics?

Hi all, sorry if this sounds silly however I can't stop worrying.
Sunday night at 8pm I was at someones house who is fostering a rescued Romanian street dog. Dog has been in UK for 6 weeks and been vaccinated (and quarantined for a month in Romania before the 6 weeks). He didn't like me from the get go and long story short as I was trying to leave he just went for me barking aggressively and jumping at me. He bit/scratched me a few times and I have 3 separate puncture wounds, which did draw blood, they have red dots/broke the skin and surrounding bruising but the wounds themselves are pretty superficial/shallow
I know UK is rabies free however I am aware Romania has a rabies risk and the dog has only been in the UK a short while. My heads all over the place and the fact the rescue said the dog was "good with men" when he clearly wasn't makes me wonder if they lied about being vaccinated as well and forged the pet passport documents to get into the country etc (probably very unlikely I know). I rang the non-emergency health number and the operator told me a nurse said it definitely wouldn't be rabies but I'm still not convinced as I haven't seen/spoken to a healthcare professional directly 1-on-1. I believe after 2 weeks if the foster dog is still alive, I am rabies free? I know I'm probably being silly but any advice from UK Vets would be greatly appreciated, as I know you probably treat a lot of Romanian/Eastern European rescues in this country. Thanks.

I think it was Jack's idea. Or maybe it was Mindy who came up with it. You know, if I do try and really think about it .. well, maybe it could've actually even been me who decided we play it. I've spent hours trying to pierce my memory back together, more to pass the time and distract myself.. But it's all irrelevant, It doesn't matter now. Maybe it never did.
Mabel was turning 30 and it was up to us to plan the party. We were all nostalgic about childhood memories so we decided to go all out - Frogs in the pond (jelly cups with Freddo frogs), hot dogs and fairy bread, and we wrapped up prizes in newspaper for pass the parcel. Pin the tail on the donkey and Twister were set up ready to play, the spice girls were blaring on Spotify.
Mabel's eyes lit up when she walked into the room and her smile was worth all the effort we put in. We danced and played games, and as the sun started to set and it grew darker outside, someone suggested turning off the lights snd playing murder in the dark.
There were ohh's and ahh's, laughter as people remembered a game they most likely hadn't played since primary school. A collective chatter amongst us in agreeance to playing Someone handed out cards, while were told the rules of the game. And then the lights were tuned out.
For those of you who don't recall, these are the basic premise of the games rules -
You'll need - Pack of cards
Instructions - Sort through a deck of cards and find the following - an Ace, a Jack, a King, a Queen, and number cards for the amount of remaining people. (i.e.-if six people were playing, you would need two number cards.)
Each card means something - the Ace is the murderer, the Jack is the detective, the King is the detective if the Jack dies, and the Queen is the detective if the Jack and the King both die. The number cards just walk around for the beginning of the game.
Tell the players that all they need to worry about for the time being is if they get the Ace. Give a card to everyone. Nobody looks at each other's cards. Once they have their cards and have seen them, put them down somewhere out of the way for the next round.
Turn off all the lights so that it's completely dark. Everyone begins to spread out and walk about slowly, and try not to laugh or talk. Players aren't allowed to stick together in this game. During this time, the murderer is seeking 'victims'. When she/he finds someone alone, they quietly brush their shoulder and whisper, "You're dead." As an alternative, the murderer could clamp their hand over the persons mouth to avoid the person screaming, and then whisper "You're Dead".
The dead player drops to the ground, dead, and can not speak or move. The murderer may or may not hide the person they just killed in a hiding place. It is not advisable, however, due to the risk involved in getting caught. When a player sees a person lying down, they ask, "Are you dead?" The person simply nods 'yes' or shakes their head 'no', but they must tell the truth. If they nod, the person who found them shouts "Murder in the Dark!" and the lights are put on.
The murderer may not murder victims any longer and all the alive players assemble where the dead person was found. The players who are not present are noted as dead. The detective sits in a chair in front of all the others who are on the floor. He/she asks questions to each person. (i.e. where were you when someone yelled Murder in the Dark? Who do you think is the murderer and why? etc.)
When the detective has enough information and think they are ready, they say "Final Accusation" and ask one person-"Are you the murderer?" It is very important that the person answers TRUTHFULLY at the final accusation. If they are the murderer, then they must say yes. If correct players pick new cards and the game starts again. If wrong then turn out the lights and carry on.
Our rules were a bit different though. It was added in that it would be a last man standing game instead. We wouldn't have a detective - we would have a murderer, murderees and possibly one lone survivor. If someone did survive -Whoever who was still alive when the egg timer went off in 60 minutes - would be the winner. If the murderer had successfully killed everyone and there were no 'survivors' - than they had won the game.
I'll admit, it was spooky. There's just something unnerving about being in a room full of people that you cannot see but you can feel their body heat or hear them breathing. I began to walk around softly, careful to make as less noise as possible. As I wasn't the killer - I had no 'good card' I was just a waiting victim, so I wanted to hide and try and bide my time staying alive as long as possible. It didn't take long to find the first 'body'. I could tell it was Mabel from the way the long blonde hair trailed along the carpet. I whispered "Are you dead?" And I guess she mustn't have heard me because I didn't see her nod.
I moved on quickly, going into the spare bedroom. I didn't risk shutting the door behind me, I just went to hide under the bed. There was a body already under there though, I felt the warmness of human skin as I clambered under the mattress, my hand recoiling in shock as I brushed up against someone's leg. I didn't bother to ask whether they were dead, I mean I guess it was cheating a bit, but we were alone, and they were certainly doing a good enough job of playing dead it seemed just silly to ask.
I heard the muffled scream down towards the other end of the house, - the first 'victim' I'd heard to make any noise - and knew it was safe to make my move out of the bedroom to a better spot.
I nearly tripped on the bodies that were splayed out on the floor, in the hallway and the kitchen. Whoever had the murderer card was certainly taking the game seriously and playing to the best of their ability. I had yet to come across anyone else walking around and was starting to think I might actually have a chance of winning, depending on how much longer was on the egg timer, of course.
I made a beeline to the kitchen to check how much time we had, it honestly felt like the game had gone on forever - and I was shocked to feel the broken pieces of the egg timer on the kitchen bench. I looked at the clock on the microwave - the green numbers burning into my eyes. We had been playing for over three hours.
Something didn't feel quite right.
I tiptoed back into the hall to Mabel, leaning down to whisper to her that we'd been playing way too long - but then I felt something wet and slippery on my hands when I knelt down next to her. It was blood. I stifled a scream as my hands roamed and I realised the birthday girl had had her head caved in.
I backed away slowly, tears streaming down my face as I quietly made my way to the front door. I let myself out and ran across the road, banging on the neighbours door while constantly glancing behind me to see if I was being chased.
The neighbours nearly fainted when they saw me covered in blood and screaming, but they calmed me down by showing me they had double locked their door and called the police.
They don't know who killed all my friends. Everyone who was meant to be at the party was still in the house - slaughtered.
It's taken so much therapy and I'm still not sleeping at night. I wish I could go back and help my friends. I didn't know, but the blame remains.
I got a letter in the mail today though. It was a congratulations card, and written inside said 'last one standing - winner winner - care to rematch, Afterall the last game was so fun! I'll see you soon, when darkness comes.'
So my advice, don't play childhood games. They could have dire consequences.

My 10-month old chihuahua/Jack Russell mix has been going to doggy daycare since he was 5 months old. He only goes 1x per week for 6 hours. When he first started, he was shy and hadn’t barked once. He ended up coming out of his shell and having a great time. He now loves all dogs and is very respectful upon greeting (no barking with other dogs, just at home). He used to come home and sleep immediately, then be lazy for a few days after. Within the last month or so, I’ve noticed he’s MUCH more hyper at home, not just on daycare days. When I work from home, he is demanding fetch all day. He barks at the kitchen for his dinner as early as 12PM (which I ignore, he is on a schedule). It’s like he’s obsessed with “fun.” The only thing that’s helped is a long walk which he used to never require. He was truly a dream puppy behavior wise until recently. He used to sleep all day, be fine in the crate and only wanted to walk once around the block as his “big walk”. He would play 30 minutes max. Now, it feels like I have a big dog with a bunch of energy that I have to figure out how to tire out (I don’t have a work schedule to accommodate this, long hours).
Yesterday I went to the grocery store and when I came home, he was barking in his crate. He used to always settle and was crate trained. I saw on the camera he was barking for the last hour today when I was at work (never before).
I’ve read a few articles about daycare promoting hyperactivity. I’ve asked him to be separated multiple times during the day but they say when he is, he just barks at the door. They tried having him up front with the owner to rest and he wouldn’t settle.
Should I stop bringing him 1x per week? Is this just the teenager phase? Have I created a menace of an otherwise surprisingly calm and lazy chihuahua?
TLDR my puppy has turned into a hyperactive menace and I think it’s because of daycare where he plays for 6 hours straight. Can’t tell if it’s just the teenager phase or I should stop bringing him there.

Please don't crucify me!
I've had my westie dog since October, she's 10+ months now and she's still not fully potty trained (no crate training, that's not a thing in my country)... She does well for about 2 weeks and then she's back to peeing and pooping inside the apartment.
And Im super proud and happy when she does well, objectively this is a good dog, but I can't shake the feeling (my housemates doesn't let me forget either) that it's always my fault when the accidents happen, even though I always follow the same routine.
So, try to be patient, give her some time to develop but I feel like I'm failing my puppy, she barely knows any tricks, she still has accidents every now and then, she barks at other dogs when we go outside, specially large dogs (to which Ive been told by my housemate that I'm raising an anxious, fearful dog).
Oh and she's always full of worms (although I don't allow her to eat grass while outside) and her liver enzymes are high... It's just so heartbreaking and stressing I don't know what to do anymore...
Btw, this is my very first dog and I don't have children so those comparisons won't help.

A 50-year-old woman survived an attack by a pit bull dog in Freguesia, Jacarepaguá, in Rio's West Zone. But she and her family fear further attacks and denounce the animal's mistreatment.
“I keep thinking about it. Every time it comes to my mind, I keep thinking that it might even hurt me again,” recalls Aparecida dos Santos Trajano.
The marks of the violence are in Aparecida's memory and on her body. She suffered injuries to her arm, forearm and ankle when she was attacked by a pit bull dog.
The woman says she was at home last Friday when she went to see her manicurist. It was at that moment that, according to her, the neighbor's dog got loose from its collar and lunged at both of them.
“He pushed me to the ground, threw me to the ground. He tore my arm, he tore my foot, and the son of the dog's owner, her two sons, came to the rescue, trying to get the dog off, but because he's big, he's got all that strength, they couldn't,” she recalls.
“With his strength, he fractured my arm, and even tore it, under my armpits, where the deepest cut was.”
Aparecida was rescued by her husband and taken to the Lourenco Jorge Municipal Hospital in Barra. She received 12 stitches and was discharged the same day, but is still taking antibiotics and is in a lot of pain.
The manicurist who was with her at the time of the attack is six months pregnant. She wasn't hurt.
“I'm 23 weeks along. Thank God nothing happened to me or my son, but also thanks to her, because if she hadn't taken the lead, I don't know what would have happened to me and my son,” says Jéssica Veloso.
Aparecida says that this wasn't the pit bull's first attack. She says that she and one of her son's friends had already been attacked by the dog a few months ago, but that the latest episode was even more violent.
Report of mistreatment
The case is being investigated by the Taquara police station. The Civil Police said that the animal's owner should be summoned to give evidence in the next few days.
Letícia Trajano, Aparecida's daughter, says that the dog is being mistreated.
“Just the fact that the dog is tied to a makeshift chain is already considered mistreatment. And in this specific situation, we see the dog in the sun, in the rain, without proper treatment. So, even though we're moved by anger, by a sense of indignation, we still manage to realize that it's not the dog's fault, that this is all a reflection of the way it was raised.”
She recalls that she had already reported the case to the authorities several times, but to no avail.
“I contacted Alerj, a protocol that I have been following closely almost weekly, and I have more than 12 protocols with the City Hall. I call, I text, I email and I don't get an effective response.”
Meanwhile, the family continues to live with the constant fear of another attack.
“We didn't want to go to this extreme, but my life is at stake, because tomorrow or the next day he could do the same thing to me again.”
What those involved say
In a statement, the Civil Police said that the Taquara police station is investigating the case.
Rio's Secretariat for the Protection and Defense of Animals said it had been to the scene, but couldn't find the dog's owner. It will try again with the help of the specialized police station.
Alerj's Animal Defense Commission said it had responded to the request and that the complaint had been forwarded to the Environmental Protection Police Station.

Hello everyone!
I have a dog that we thought was dog reactive, but we think it’s more so leash reactive.
Our german shepherd husky mix is 5 years old and was socialized pretty well when he was 1-2 years old until the pandemic hit and we weren’t able to socialize him as much. Anyway, for the last couple of year, we’ve thought that he was reactive as he barks and lunges towards other dogs when we go on walks. His hackles are raised and we’re fighting to get him in control as he pull with his leash on him. We’ve tried train him with positive reinforcement (treats/praises) by staying far far away and letting him know again that he is in a safe space. Nothing works and he disregards the treats and just barks and lunges continuously.
Lately, we met another parent who was open to going on walks with us on a distance. At first our dog was reactive and didn’t want to stop until after 10 mins. When we first did our walk, I came up to their dog and the parents to show that they’re friendly and then went back to him to reassure him that he’s fine.
When our walk started, we started with him being in the back so he can smell the dog as much as possible. He had some issues at first when the dog was getting closer to him, but after 10-15 mins of walking, he ended up just ignoring the dog completely. Like the dog didnt exist. His walk went great. His tail was wagging and he’d lay down with the dog after the walk and EVEN share a water bowl with him.
We came on more walks with his friend and each walk became easier and easier. When they first see each other, he goes crazy and then stops a lot quicker than the initial walk. He even met MORE dogs during our walk and let them sniff and so did he. During this wall he was on a leash and muzzle. The other parents mentioned that maybe he’s leash reactive. We noticed it and when we gave him an even longer leash, he’d go to other dogs himself without any reactive signals.
Sadly, our work schedule changed and we’re not able to walk as much as before with his dog friends and we think that it’s going to regress. Until lately this month, we had a rescue puppy come by. When we introduced them at first, it was in a neutral space. The puppy was help up and our dog was on a leash. When he first heard the puppy bark, he started whinning and couldn’t relax. As soon as he saw the puppy, he started lunging and barking like crazy. Like he was feral. We removed the puppy out of the area and he came back to normal.
After a while we let him out in the backyard to free roam and off-leash. He saw/heard/smelt the puppy through the window and the only reaction he had was the whine and his tail wag was different. We tried a different approach without a leash, but with a muzzle and it went a lot better. No lunges, no barking, just sniffing. Even when the puppy was barking at him he didn’t care. Since then that puppy has now become a family member completely and now they live together and play with each other. It took less than 3 days for them to aclimate with each other. Although those days weren’t perfect, we noticed that he only gets reactive with the member when he’s on a leash.
Its been a month since we’ve had to dogs now and they’ve been amazing with each other. But, during walks our first dog is still reactive towards other dog except the puppy. I’m confused and at this moment all signals point towards leash reactive. I’d like everyone to say I am right, but i’d be proven wrong so I can put him on a better training regime.
TLDR: Dog reactive only on leash. Met a dog friend, reactive on leash on initial walk. Walked more with dog friend and reactiveness lessened even on leash. During walks with dog friend, he made more friends. Schedule changes and he regressed. Puppy came into his life and was reactive on first meet with leash and muzzle on. Less than an hour later, no reactiveness when free roaming. Only reacts only when on leash.

I have to submit the deans waiver for the 3rd time for eng. Recently got diagnosed with ADHD (like in the last week I received my diagnosis), got kicked out of my house, parents went crazy and tried to submit false claims to the police (not gonna go into too much detail but believe me it was so bad, police also told me my parents are insane and they wont file any of the complaints my parents made against me cause they were baseless), moved in with a friend and parents showed up to my friends house and went insane. I cant take time off school cause I need to get this degree to get out and I am passionate abt it. I got lucky and I am working with a faculty member as a volunteer rn on some research stuff so I can include that to show my passion for the program. I have screenshots, documentation and a letter from my friends parents explaining the whole situation. Just wondering if my chances are low, I failed 2 courses first sem and 2 second sem (one of them I can take in the summer term), and I am doing other summer courses to catch up so I can tell them that. But has anyone ever been in this situtation?

I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue with their dog. My dog is 3 and does have some anxiety. She barks at the door which isn’t a huge deal, but trying to break. But one person she is persistent in barking, but then is fine with him when I am not around. I have no idea how to deal with this since when he walks in the door she barks incessantly but when I am not home she will lay in his bedroom and be absolutely fine.

Hello One piece fans, I have stumbled onto something that I believe to be tangible to One Piece, a parallel of sorts. It all started when I was looking into different yokai’ to find an enemy or some sort of opposite, which lead me to stumble into Tengu’s, whom are depicted as heavenly creatures/ and considered a type of yokai. Then as I read further, I found Sarutahiko Ōkami,
“considered to be the original model of Konoha-Tengu.” , and “He is the Shinto monkey deity who is said to shed light on Heaven and Earth.” But is also referenced to being a “god who illuminates the sky and the earth" in Ise, and was worshiped by local believers as the sun god.”
(Very basic in history, with there being multiple sun gods in history) (Stay with me now)
This is where I think I’m onto something! I went back to look into the Tengu, and I was able to find the Tiangou, the eating of the sun, and the moon. There are two types of Tiangou, a white one, and a black one. In my findings, “Tian Gou comes in two forms - one, a rare beast depicted as a white-headed fox that brings about peace and tranquillity and offers protection from harm, and two, a deity that is depicted as a black dog that eats the moon. “
(I’m honestly just finding this so it’s hard to put in my own words so imma just copy and paste the text, I wanted to save it and go in depth, but I believe if more people saw it they would able to see it and go even further if I’m on to something)
Tiangou White: Tian Gou was first referred to in the "Classics of Mountains and Seas" first. Below is a snippet from the original text where Tian Gou is mentioned, followed by a rough translation:
“又西三百里，曰阴山。浊浴之水出焉，而南流于番泽。其中多文贝，有兽焉，曰天狗，其状如狸而白首，其音如榴榴，可以御凶。”
“Another 300 leagues to the west lies Yin Mountain. The source of the River Zhuo Yu is located here and flows south into the Fan Marshlands. The River Zhuo Yu is full of marine life with patterned shells. On this mountain there lives a beast which looks like a fox* with a white head. It is called Tian Gou. The sound it makes is similar to “liu liu.” It can be used to ward off evil."
Tiangou Black: (has a lot more info about him)
There seems to be a lot of different versions of the origin story for Tian Ggou's second form. Each starts pretty much the same way, with the "soon-to-be" Tian Gou represented as a "black-eared hound" that is loyal to its master, Hou Yi (后羿 hòu yì). but for the sake of Tian Gou's story, all you need to know is that Hou Yi is a master archer that is granted an Elixir of Immortality for his numerous acts of skill and courage (shooting down 9 of the 10 Suns and defeating several mythical beasts). From there, the official story goes:
Hou Yi's wife, Chang'E (嫦娥 cháng'é), took the elixir before Hou Yi in an act of selfishness (to maintain her youth). Shortly after she began to feel weightless and began to lift from the ground. As she rose to the heavens, Hou Yi's "black-eared hound" who was behind the door witnessed her betrayal and began to bark at her. The hound then licked the last drops of the elixir and also began to rise. As he did, he also grew in size. Seeing this, Chang'E sought refuge behind the moon, but the hound swollowed the moon in one, taking Chang'E with it. When the Jade Emporer (玉帝 yù dì) and the Queen Mother of the west (王母娘娘 wáng mǔ niáng niáng) heard that the moon had been swallowed by a giant hound, she ordered her soldiers to capture it. She immediately recognised the hound was Hou Yi's. She renamed it Tian Gou and assigned it to guard the Southern Gate of Heaven. Tian Gou received a "Seal of Grace" and spat the moon and Chang'E back out.
(Imu could be Tiangou protecting Mary Geoise, after (hou yi, maybe imu’ master) defeating the nine stars(joy boys crew?))
Another version states that Hou Yi's apprentice, Feng Meng (逢蒙 féng méng), breaks in to Hou Yi's house when he is out hunting in order to take the elixir of immortality for himiself. His wife, Chang'E, realising Feng Meng's intent quickly drinks the elixir and begins to rise in to the air. She finally reaches the moon and becomes a Lunar Deity, reluctantly leaving her husband on earth as a mortal.
(Imu could be a woman and the moon in this case is Mary geoise, it would be weird if they were the moon tho)
Another version states that Hou Yi's acts of skill and courage go to his head, he proclaims himself king and becomes a tyrant that subjugates his people. Understanding that the elixir of immortality would allow Hou Yi to continue his rule of cruelty indefinitely, Chang'E drank it first. As she rose toward the moon, Hou Yi tried to shoot her down, but failed. She then hid behind the moon where she remains to this day.
(Imu could represent hou yi, with the tyranny, and a werid thought what if Chang’E is Nefertari Lili, with her disappearing and all)
And there's even another version that follows the official story word for word, the only difference being that Chang'E didn't take the elixir to maintain her youth, instead she took it because she found out that Hou Yi was being unfaithful to her!
(What if Imu and Lili were doing stuff on the side he could have had a wife idk)
Regardless of Hou Yi and Chang'E's relationship, Tian Gou is now most well known in Chinese culture for "eating the Moon and the Sun." When a solar or lunar eclipse occurs, people will proclaim that Tian Gou is here and that he has taken a bite out of either celestial body: "天狗食日" (tiān gǒu shí rì - Tian Gou has eaten/taken a bite out of the Sun "天狗食月" (tiān gǒu shí yuè) - Tian Gou has eaten/taken a bite out of the Moon
It is for this reason that Tian Gou (in this form) is seen as a bad omen. In fact, his arrival (an eclipse) is welcomed by the beating of drums and the release of fireworks and firecrackers in an attempt to scare him off.

I am a young adult, female. Who still lives with my family, I am moving out next year into an apartment but I wanted to share something which has been troubling me. Ever since I was younger, I have witnessed my father verbally abuse my mother and manipulating her even though she is a great person. I didn't exactly notice it then as I was young but he would gamble constantly and smoked, even stole from her. He would have these tantrums/out bursts where he would throw stuff at my mother or slam doors, he would even sometimes hit her thigh with his shoe. He especially got angry when he was woken up. I could tell he wasn't in love with my mother, he was just with her because of my sister and I. We have both told her we wouldn't mind if they got divorced, it would be for the best. Now, as I've now grown up I've noticed more and more. My brother (not his son, my mother had him before she got with my father) is also a very horrible person, as well as my eldest brother (My father's son). All the men in my family have their own issues but are similar in every way possible. I have three dogs who are sweethearts and my father as well as brother (mothers side) despise them. They both threaten them, my father even goes to the lengths of hitting them with anything he gets his hands on. He keeps saying that he will shoot them in the head or chop them into pieces. He will kick them if they get in his way and even hit their noses. They both believe that they shouldn't bark when they are literal dogs, they will bark if they get startled. I've had some courage to yell at My brother when he threatens them or calls them names but I still panic because I know what he's capable of. It makes my heart pound so fast when these things happen and instantly cry, perhaps its a trigger but it's frightening. The men here aren't the best whatsoever and they do scare me. I'm looking forward to moving away but I don't trust them, I don't trust leaving my animals behind. I don't trust them with my mother either. I'm confused and currently in the middle of a break down.

Can I just rant for a minute! This Is My First Post! LOL!
I have been trying to be a SMBC for 2 years and have had 3 Fertility Clinics turn me away and 1 OB office turn me away, because I want to be a SMBC. I want to scream! I found a clinic that will take a SMBC and offer MINI IVF, but they quoted me $30,000-$40,000 for ONE CYCLE! I feel SOOO upset. But of course the clinic that quoted me $10,000-$15,000 wont take SMBC. What is this!!! I want to scream forever.
I had bought 7 vials of donor sperm from CCB back when their prices were $1,200 a vial and used them ALL for home insemination. Sadly, that didn't work. I called them back to buy more vials only to find out their vials are now $2,200 and they are raising their prices soon. WHAT!!!! I cant afford $2,200 a vial. To make matters worst my donor is limited stock, only 6 vials left! So it is a now or never situation. I have cried over loosing my perfect donor!
I was recommend to use ICI (International Cryogentics Sperm Bank) by my OB and so I called and the women who answer the phone are SOOO RUDE! There are three of them and each one does not want to answer my questions. I ask what the family limit is and one lady said “25” and another says “20”! WHAT! I asked to speak with the lab supervisor as she is the “women in charge” and she was nice to release some back up vials to me, since the donor I wanted only had a few IUI vials left and they normally don't release them to the public. But what a pain!
Then my OB who I did 5 IUI with, totally lied to me about success rate, saying that IUI have a 30-35% success rate! I later found out by a real fertility specialist that IUI only has a 10-15% success rate. My OB was rude and talked down to me and made me feel like I was dumb. I drove an hour and a half each way to my appointments. My OB didn't offer ultrasounds on Thursday or the weekends and so your cycle had to line up with his office hours and if your cycle didn't his words were “to bad so sad, I have an OB office not an RE office”. One cycle he mismanaged my medication and I overestimated to the point I was almost in the ER from CLOMID!!!! I had a left over cyst the following month and my OB convinced me to still do that cycle, I was later told by someone else that I should have skipped that cycle. All my IUI failed because of this MAN!!! He never waited for my follicles to grow and he would have me trigger at 10-14mm. WHAT!!! I didn't know at the time that my follicles were immature. He said over and over again that frozen sperm was just like fresh and would live 72 hours. I knew this one was a lie because BOTH of my banks told me 12-24 hours. When I called him out he said “I have been an OB for 13 years and I know what I am doin.” I called the bank in tears after my last failed attempt because my lovely new bank made you call and report if your cycle didn't work. I begged the women to tell me how many pregnancy had been reported by my OB office. She said “4” “In the 10 years we have worked with him” What only 4!!! In 10 years!!! Why was I not told this when i was first asked months ago? The women even went on to say “we have never had a bad complaint from this OB and we have seen HUNDREDS of clinics use samples there.” WHAT!!!
My vent needs to continue but I have stuff I have to do!!!

A woman I know has a neighbor that has publicly lied online about her and exposed her personal information.
An accident occurred where their nextdoor neighbor’s dog ran into the road and the woman, who was going under 20, was unable to stop the car before the dog was hit. The dog is very friendly and the mother’s children are incredibly fond of the dog. Her teenage son got out of the car and brought the dog to its owner’s house, aka the neighbor’s house, while the mother got her other small children into the house. Her teenager was very scared and was panicked a bit while talking to the male neighbor. The male neighbor told the kid that it was okay, that these things happen and that at least it was just the dog’s leg. The mother came back out to the neighbor’s house to talk to them, but the man was pulling out of his driveway to take the dog to a vet, 20 minutes away.
No one else witnessed the incident aside from the mother and her children and no one else was involved besides that one male neighbor.
The teenager relayed what the man had to him to his mother and they went back into the house. The mother did not have her neighbor’s phone number to ask about the dog, so she asked her school aged children to ask the neighbor’s school aged children about the dog. The mother has children who are not in school, including an infant, so it is not easy for her to go out without a proper babysitter. Her children relayed to her that the dog’s leg was broken, but that the dog was otherwise fine. The woman was going to cover the costs of the vet bill.
She was unable to make her way to the neighbor’s house right away as she has many responsibilities and crippling social anxiety, but the topic was discussed in her household all of the time. It was obvious to everyone who knew about the accident that the mother was incredibly upset and concerned about it all.
The neighbor’s wife came over to their house while the father was exercising in his driveway and accosted him, insulting his wife, him, and their children. The father did not argue, but apologized to the woman about her dog. When she continued accosting him he told the woman that he would have to think about what she was saying before replying to her and then walked away calmly.
The neighbor’s wife, who was not there at the time of the accident, then posted a paragraph online and tagged the mother in it. The female neighbor said that the mother had purposefully hit her dog while speeding down the road and left the dog in the road to bleed out. The female neighbor called the mother names and swears, said other neighbors had witnessed the accident, all while still admitting that her unleashed dog ran into the road itself.
It turns out that the dog’s only injury was a laceration needing stitches.
The female neighbor named and tagged the woman, said that they were her Nextdoor neighbors (therefore exposing their address to those who know her address), described their vehicle, exposed the husband’s job and his workplace, said the mother was speeding at 30 mph, said how many children the mother has, named their church, lied about them committing animal abuse on their own dog, lied about filing a police report, and more.
The male neighbor was in the comments insulting the family as well, never contradicting his wife‘s post.
The mother had not met anyone who were commenting on the post, but commenters said that they knew her personally and insulted her character, some made fun of her religion, some said to destroy her car with a baseball bat, some said to get police officers to intimidate the mother, one lied about seeing the accident stating that the mother ran over the dog and never stopped, some agreed to have a large get together and purposely create noise to hurt the family, some insulted the family’s children, some commenters said they’d spread the word about the incident to purposely damage the family’s reputation, some said to gather other neighbors to have them file false noise complaints and animal abuse complaints together, and more. All the while the female neighbor commented positively with them.
There were commenters who do not live in their neighborhood that commented details about the family‘s outdoor routines, alluding to the idea that the female neighbor has complained about this family to multiple people before this accident had happened.
The post was petty, but it eventually evolved into violent threats. The mother saw the post, it had been up for days and shared multiple times to multiple places. The mother then messaged the female neighbor apologizing for not coming over herself yet and explaining what had happened. The neighbor responded that she did know what happened, despite lying on her post, and accepted the mother’s apology.
The neighbor did eventually take the original post down, but there is another post from someone on her page about the incident where the female neighbor has inappropriate comments about the family still.
Is there anything legally that can be done about this specific situation?
