Summer of 23, I (f) was in a situation-ship with a guy down in Texas. I’m in the northeast. We met over social media. Everything was going great then one day, it just went away. I guess I’m not asking for any advice. I just need to vent because I have no one to talk to about it. We still follow each other on social media and have each other’s number. I think I want him more than he wants me. I’m just sad, that I’m a pathetic loser who’s just waiting around for him to come back around. I miss him. I’ve tried reaching out but it’s not the same anymore.

I'm 10 days post op now and healing super well so I wanted to share my story, bc I know getting surgery can be super scary and it definitely helped me to hear from people who's surgeries went well :)
For reference I'm 14 f
It started with what I assumed to just be a random stomach ache (I've had minor tummy troubles for my whole life so it's not usually a concern), but it got worse over the span of a couple days and also developed into back pain. Around 4 days into the pain we decided to go to urgent care, and the Dr said I had pretty much a "textbool case" of gallstones. We scheduled an ultrasound for 2 days later.
I never ended up going to that ultrasound bc the day after urgent care, I couldn't sleep because the pain was so bad. So we went to the ER, hoping they could at least prescribe some pain meds (ibuprofen wasn't doing much good).
After hours of waiting, they finally got me in for an ultrasound at the ER. They looked at my pancreas, kidney, liver, and of course gallbladder. A few more hours later and we finally get to talk to a doctor (and get some meds) the doctor confirmed that I definitely had gallstones (we later found out the were 2 cm and there were at least 4.)
Eventually we spoke to the surgeon, who basically said that the pain wasn't going to improve so it made sense to just take it out now. He explained that I had a very borderline case. I definitely had gallstones that were clearly causing pain, but I hadn't experienced and nausea/vomiting/fever. However, I had a slighty raised white blood cell count so he still advised to get it removed asap.
I'll spare the details, but because I'm not an adult they had to transfer me to the children's hospital in order to do an operation and we ended up not being able to do it until th next day, because it wasn't technically an "emergency." The nurses were mostly good, although they wouldn't give me any pain meds stronger than Tylenol/ibuprofen until post op (so I was in mild pain for the entire night)
The next day, I got prepped for surgery and me and my mom spoke to the anesthesiologist and surgeon. Both explained exactly what was going to happen, which made me feel a lot better.
They gave me anxiety meds, so ngl I don't remember much after they wheeled me into the or.
It definitely hurts for a few days post op. Mostly the action of sitting and standing up. I had to learn to use my arms and legs in place of the core muscles, but I was able to walk to the bathroom a couple hours post op.
10 days later, I'm back to normal activities with no pain and my incisions are healing super well. Very glad I got the removal over with, and my surgeon didn't give me any dietary restrictions.
I know this was super long, but hopefully someone found it helpful :) good luck to anyone getting surgery soon 💚

Hi people. Last Sunday I (31M) had a BBQ with my mother, sister, and my sister's friend (22). My mom knows I want to get married and that Sunday I got bombarded with details about my sister's friend. It looks like we're quite compatible, we like the same food, have similar hobbies, want couple of children and we'd raised them quite similarly. We both want to live in South of France/Spain/Italy, they even go to vacation this summer (my mom, my sis, and her friend) and she asked me if I'll be there (unfortunately I can't), she said we should definitely do something, she loves theme park and wants to go to Portaventura, Spain, she said we could rent a villa, etc...
During the BBQ she sat next to me and we talked politics and stuff. My sister wants to work with horses, so time to time I'm looking equestrian estates, and I don't remember why, I talked about a house near the Mediterranean I saw and liked. My sister's friend, laughing, said if there is any room for her she's in.
When talking (not privately, we never had any private conversation for the matter) she said (to my mother) that her last relationship wasn't a thing, she's single, and she'd want to get married but at same time she's quite afraid to be with the wrong guy. Later on, when passing by, I caught up my sister and her looking at baby's names, and when I asked what they were watching, they said "nothing" and giggled.
A similar situation happened last month (with same girl) and while she was there, my mother said, laughing, that if I don't get married soon, she'll find me someone. (She wants those grand-children).
But here the thing, I live under the same roof (different stories) with my mom and sis, which means I will end up seeing her friend one way or the other when she comes around, and I don't want misinterpret these situations. I also being quite reserved to ask my lil' sis about this, I mean, imagine you're 19 and your 32 yo brother asking about your best friend...
I'm kind of thinking, it's nothing, I'm imagining things, she just want to be friendly and nothing else.
What do you think about this situation? Am I that dumb? Is there a scheme going on in this female trio or Am I overthinking it?
PS: My birthday is in 15 days, I think they prepare something. Should I wait until then, see if there is anything? Or should I text my sister's best friend to see if she wants to do something together? The good weather showing up, I want to go hiking, I learned she likes it too, wanted to go with my sister but my sister isn't really into that. I had a total hysterectomy the end of January and it's like every single month since then I've had a UTI.
The third time I went to urgent care about it, they gave me the same antibiotic even though I told them it hadn't worked for me before, and the antibiotics didn't feel like they helped at all this last time. They supposedly tested it for cultures yet they never gave me the results. (The first two times I did a virtual appointment for antibiotics because I didn't think anything of it and I know that was a dumb move. But at least those times it seemed to help).
Now I'm getting concerned by how I'm getting more noticable symptoms yet again just two weeks after finishing the antibiotics.
I even said this is the third UTI I had and they didn't care and just asked me "do you know how to wipe right"? It felt so insulting.
I tried to chug a lot of water this weekend and that seemed to help but of course that's not doable to just be going to the bathroom all the time. I tried my best though to drink as much as I could to follow the 8 cups a day, yet I STILL feel pain when peeing. Sometimes it still smells weird too (like bleach or sweet). I know drinking a lot of water helps and I really try to but sometimes it's just not doable. I feel like I get UTIs or worse symptoms the second I don't drink 8+ glasses a day.
And today I've been noticing some lower abdominal pain on the right side of my stomach (not pelvic pain). I'm just starting to get so irritated and concerned because I'm told "you need to treat your UTI" yet nobody seems to care that I've BEEN HAVING UTIS FOR 4 FUCKING MONTHS.
I can't be in the bathroom every hour for the rest of my life and I'd like to have sex again eventually (I'm cleared for it). This doesn't make me feel like I can even wear thongs again either because I know it can increase the risk of UTIs (from what I've heard).

Ok…so i recently quit my job at a warehouse because I got a better job. But before I quit, I wanted to go out with a bang. So I made a very accurate, and in my opinion, hilarious version of some various memes the size of business cards of this rude Karen lady who was always harassing us warehouse workers. (She married into the family business and thought she was the ultimate shit I guess. I figured a little prank may put her in her place and keep newer hires from getting targeted as badly.) Anyways, I placed the little meme cards around the building like an damn Easter egg hunt.
Why did I do this?? - This lady in the office was always targeting me in emails for unfair reasons (Eg. 3 of us in the warehouse could be chatting loudly while working but I would get targeted) - She was over hiring and wouldn’t hire on any of the more recent hires through a temp agency (who were very good workers) even though they were told they would be hired on after 3 months…it’d been 10+ - When we needed to see her about sick time, vacation time, hiring on, anything she was over, she wouldn’t see us or “was on vacation”. - Constantly watching cameras and being petty about our allocated times (we’re ahead of schedule).

I will start off saying dating apps are definitely something to be grateful for considering how many matches I’ve had over the years compared to traditional methods, and by playing the sheer numbers game I’ve won the jackpot a few times, reassuring me it’s a daily effort and in some cases worth paying for the features probably.
I wanted to figure out a way to batch swipe for 10-20 mins a day on 4 different apps. It really isn’t that big of a deal. I have a reasonable opener that works and I use a keyboard to my phone so it’s lightning fast.

- in online dating it seems I have to respond within 12-24 hours or they ghost or misinterpret interest
- i cannot ask to get coffee immediately, so texting is the basis and beginning of everything to some extent (10 messages)
- these two things make it so you’re already posturing yourself as a competent “texter”
- I have been able to reduce it gradually. Sometimes it’s misinterpreted but it’s definitely for the best and seems to still work with CW methods. Set the date and you don’t have a big reason to text etc
- do you find yourself getting numb to falling in love and due to the numbers game?
- how do you keep things… sincere… when between the two people dating there’s like 8 people each person is dating. It’s SO hard for me to not imagine it once I start thinking about it. I know it’s better left ignored but man once that spider hits the brain it’s just depressing as fuck

For a week or two, I have had tremendous lag in the evening whenever Discord loads images. Text chat is fast, images and video from other websites are fast. I have 1,000 MB up/down so it's not my internet speed and it doesn't happen during the day. Seems to be around 6-7 PM CST that it starts taking 5-10 minutes to load a single image. This is true in the app but also when I click "Open in Browser" to get the direct URL in my web browser.
Is this happening to anyone else? Is my ISP rate-limiting my access to Discord or something?

Okay so I just wanted some advice on this and sorry for any typos. me and my bestfriend recently stopped being friends me and her have been friends since 6th grade this year we have had some tension and some weirdness but my mom is the guardian on both of are cards and she locked both of are cards I got a new guardian (it takes anyone over 18) she didn’t and kept asking me about it I tried to fix it I didn’t know how she orders a new card but keeps it under my mom as the guardian then was mad it was locked and texted me about it this about 3 months give or take after my mom locked the card I told her to get a new guardian like I did I also told her this months about she proceeded to tell me I’m to busy with my boyfriend anyways (side note we have had talks about me not spending enough time with her) I tell her sorry I’m in a relationship but I cant hang out with her every weekend I had literally seen her the day before and we hung out 1 weekend before this I say I’m allowed to be in my relationship she decides to go deep and say all my boyfriend wanted me for is my body in the first place we have been together for 10 months.. then I kinda just cut off the conversation and the friendship a day or so later I ask for my AirPods I left at her house and whatever clothes she has of mine and I know she has because I had been asking for a few shirts she told me she didn’t know where the AirPods were and ignored me about the clothes then told a mutual friend that she’s not give me clothes back and I owe her from nail sets she’s done for me in the past that I pay for all most all of in way way or another maybe other then my birthday set a year ago.. yea a discount price but she was my best friend I just said whatever and put it behind me but I just want to know if I’m the asshole in the in some short of way or handle it different this is the short version so I can clarify things need be

I usually fast for 12-14 hours every day. My breakfasts are usually around 30 grams of protein and around 400-500 calories. Then I don't eat anything at all. Not even gum. Barely drink anything either because I noticed it can make me somewhat even more hungrier. When I am finally ready to break fast, I am so so severely hungry after just one or two bites of my dinner that I end up binging a lot or eating a lot more than I planned. Because of this I can't lose weight. I lose it, then gain the same weight back. I really need to lose 15-20 lbs. I was wondering if you guys have some sort of tips or hacks that help you curb your severe hunger pangs after breaking fast? I heard of drinking apple cider vinegar right before you break fast. Has that worked for anyone? Any help you be very very much appreciated!

Hey all, looking for a little help here in PA. My landlord has given us a 30 day notice, which doesn't have a clear date of when the move out is, just the date of the notice and that it's a 30 day notice. Sorry if this sounds dumb, but online there's some misconceptions it seems, is it a solid 30 days, or does it start at the end of the current month to month period. The notice was dated the 4th of May, and the lease renews every month on the 1st. Does that mean we have to be out the 4th of June, or the 1st of July? Also, we had a codes inspector come in, which there was plenty of issues, that he's not trying to fix before we move out. I understand codes likely gave him a time frame to fix the issues, but also can he just come to my house every day at 7am because he's now fixing the things he's left for over a year?
Very wordy first post, but very anxious with everything that's going on, and he's trying to blame a leak in the shower on us, even though it's clear there's a hole in the shower pan...

My son is 8 weeks, and last weeks we went to visit the town my dad currently lives in. We did not see him, nor did I let him meet my son, at all on the duration of the trip.
For better context: growing up my dad was in prison for almost 20 years, released a few years ago, so he missed my entire childrearing days. And after he got out, he kind of expected me to respect his authority as my father, despite us never having that type of relationship ever. And we have clashed about his overstepping ever since, in addition to me learning about him cheating on my step mom (whom he cheated on my mom with when I was an infant and had 3 children with over the years).
He moved away from the area and reside with his current girlfriend, of which he had a child with (result of the affair). I had already told him in the past that if he cheats on his wife, or neglects my other sisters, that I would have to sever our relationship. And I would have removed myself already because I don’t really care for him or the drama he causes, had it not been for my family. And I was generous in giving him chances before I ultimately blocked him on everything.
When I went into labor, I didn’t tell my dad and actually forbade other people from telling him as well. The only reason he found out was because a relative spilled the beans. Even then, he contacted my mom to express how upset he was.
And when I was in the town that he currently lives in, I strictly told everyone I was visiting not to tell my dad. And of course word got out to him that I was there. And I still didn’t see him, despite my family pressuring me to. And once again, he reached out to my mom to express his grievances.
But I don’t see him as a positive influence in my life, much less my sons, given his past and current actions/behavior. I had even sent him an invite to my baby shower and he didn’t show up or send a gift. With no notice to me. He barely sees his other kids that live in the same town as I do, but he seems hyper focused to meet my son because he’s the first boy (my dad only had girls). He’s even referred to my son as “his boy.”
I’m tempted to contact him again finally and let him know my feelings and decision, so he can stop pestering my m and other relatives, who pester me. While I tried going the route of “needs no explanation,” it’s not working in my favor and it’s frankly getting on my nerves.
But just wanted some advice as to how to navigate the conversation, or if I even should.

He barely sees his other kids that live in the same town as I do, but he seems hyper focused to meet my son because he’s the first boy (my dad only had girls). He’s even referred to my son as “his boy.”
I’m tempted to contact him again finally and let him know my feelings and decision, so he can stop pestering my m and other relatives, who pester me. While I tried going the route of “needs no explanation,” it’s not working in my favor and it’s frankly getting on my nerves.
But just wanted some advice as to how to navigate the conversation, or if I even should.

Okay so I just wanted some advice on this and sorry for any typos. me and my bestfriend recently stopped being friends me and her have been friends since 6th grade this year we have had some tension and some weirdness but my mom is the guardian on both of are cards and she locked both of are cards I got a new guardian (it takes anyone over 18) she didn’t and kept asking me about it I tried to fix it I didn’t know how she orders a new card but keeps it under my mom as the guardian then was mad it was locked and texted me about it this about 3 months give or take after my mom locked the card I told her to get a new guardian like I did I also told her this months about she proceeded to tell me I’m to busy with my boyfriend anyways (side note we have had talks about me not spending enough time with her) I tell her sorry I’m in a relationship but I cant hang out with her every weekend I had literally seen her the day before and we hung out 1 weekend before this I say I’m allowed to be in my relationship she decides to go deep and say all my boyfriend wanted me for is my body in the first place we have been together for 10 months.. then I kinda just cut off the conversation and the friendship a day or so later I ask for my AirPods I left at her house and whatever clothes she has of mine and I know she has because I had been asking for a few shirts she told me she didn’t know where the AirPods were and ignored me about the clothes then told a mutual friend that she’s not give me clothes back and I owe her from nail sets she’s done for me in the past that I pay for all most all of in way way or another maybe other then my birthday set a year ago.. yea a discount price but she was my best friend I just said whatever and put it behind me but I just want to know if I’m the asshole in the in some short of way or handle it different this is the short version so I can clarify things need be

Okay so, I'll try keep this simple and to the point. I will state tho that he is genuinely a very kind individual.
Basically I have been seeing this guy for almost four months, it started slow and got very hot and firey after a month, but early on I started noticing issues with his best friend, a woman, the first thing she said that gave me alarm bells was she said "I don't get on with women prettier than me". After that, she would regularly make points about how close the two of them where (less than a month into our relationship) get upset when he didn't respond to her messages when me and him hung out etc, when she is down and anxious for whatever reason he becomes her carer, he will do anything for her, and when he doesn't do it at the drop of a hat she gets annoyed. I have tried reaching out to her to perhaps improve the situation to no avail.
After 3 months of holding different things back about her behaviour, I was out in the same pub as him one night and went over to say hello, she seen me first and had the most disgusted look on her face, then quickly got everyone in their group to move away from me. I got annoyed and expressed to him (on a different day we were both sober) how I don't think she likes me, and that she has said and done this different things to deter me from seeking a relationship with him and it felt like he had feelings for her, that i wanted to know everything that went on between them, he denied having feelings and that he only wants me, as she's like a sister to him. I believed him in that regard however now things have shifted.
I am myself a very anxious person but I do not let it rule my life, however things between us have started to feel off, I just can't shake this feeling that she sees him as her lap dog, who did anything she wanted, now that his attention is directed to another woman she can't stand it, and she frequently does things to get his attention back on her, the trouble is, we have not been together very long and I can't exactly say, listen, this woman treats you like a slave and you lap it all up because you think she's your best friend, so stop being friends with the only person you hang out with (were in our 20s in university so they live together, and are again next year) I just don't know how to bring this up, he refuses to accept that she isn't a good person, despite telling me how manipulate and toxic she is to the other people around her, all the underhanded things she does, how she just throws people away once she's bored with them, I just don't know how to bring this up, any advice?

It’s nearing the end of the year for us, and we are all stressed out and burnt out. So one day when there wasn’t much going on, I brought my dog into my pod to meet my friends (a pod is a small office space w/only 14 people).
My dog is very well behaved, doesn’t shed, and is the cutest doggo ever if I do say so myself. She was in our pod for all of 5-10 minutes before I walked her back out. The people in my pod LOVED her and I could tell it really brightened their day, which made me happy.
Well…someone (and I have no idea who) reported me to one of our deans. I got called to her office, and she asked me about the situation. She then told me that I would be receiving a professional conduct violation, as pets are not allowed on campus.
Truthfully, I knew our school had a no pet policy. BUT I also knew that it was established because one of the pods decided to buy a guinea pig a few years ago. My dog was literally on campus for 5-10 minutes, she ain’t moving in with us lol.
I was foolish, I know. But I was just trying to lighten the mood during this stressful time (especially since our school doesn’t have jack shit in terms of wellness resources for the students). I think this will be getting reported when I send out my residency apps, so I’m worried I may have a hard time matching. :(
