Hi, I am new here and I am posting for the first time. Please let me know if I am breaking any rules here so I can re-do it. It is one full chapter, but because it is so long, I broke into three parts.
This is a theory for the actual Prologue of The Winds of Winter. Please enjoy.
The Winds of Winter
Prologue
A storm was coming, but that was not part of the plan.
To the east, dark grey clouds and flashes of lightning were seen afar while thunder could be heard mumbling its rage in the distance. Here where they stood, fierce sea-chilled winds blew from the clear skies of the west. Two weather fronts were on course for a collision, and caught in between was a giant rock that mountains above the shoreline, a hard place. The old natural stonewalls of Casterly Rock were half bathed in gold from the even-falling sun, while the other hid in the shadow of the approaching storm. And soon enough, everything will be clouded in black.
The sound of the strong waves smacking into the face of the stony cliffs can be felt from a mile away, as it was no different from the ones crashing into the wooden hull of their galley. Above their rocking swanship, three tall wooden masts sported simple dark black sails, filled with winds from the west, speeding their eastern course towards the home of House Lannister, ready to hug the coastline tight, fast and dangerous.
The Summer Isle captain at the helm shouted his accented announcement, “Awww shittt! Everyone get yo shields and weapons ready. It’s about to go down! Adventurers and avengers, assemble up to the deck of Motherfunker. Be sharp and stay on yo toes! We’re running this so let’s go!”
“With me to the boats!” the legendary stern knight Ser Brynden Tully called out as his fighting men rallied at the starboard rear of their ship, emerging from the cabins below.
“We all chose to be here. If any man wants to back down now, then do so quickly. I would not die in that man’s company. We elected to do this task for honor and for justice. Some of us are here for vengeance and we may even chance to kill some of them. If so, you may enjoy your short moment of pleasure. But what I offer here is the IMMORTALITY of the songs and tales. And when it is all said & done as we return safely home, the singers will sing of this glorious day, our honorable deed, and their shame of a jape. And they will sing it from this day to the ending of the world, and we in it shall be remembered! We few, we brave few, we band of brothers. For he who shed blood with me today shall be my brother forever in song!”
A roar of cheer exploded in the air, loud and thunderous. As the ruckus died down, Lady Mormont proclaimed, “And a sister too!”
“Aye Maege,” said the Blackfish. “But we have always considered you as one of our brothers. Between your legs, your sacs are larger than most men, especially all the Lannister soldiers.”
“Well that is easy to say, all those Lannisters are a bunch of golden eunuchs!” Lady Mormont declared unlady like.
Laughter swept the deck.
The Summer Isle captain above shouted again and prayed, “Today is The Day, and the moment is upon us my friends. Thirty seconds until the drop zone lads! May the gods be with yo!”
On the starboard stern, three small rowboats hung out from the hull, hovering above the rough waves. Attached over the swanship’s parapet was a roped ladder, allowing the fighters to lower themselves down onto their watercrafts. Each one was designed to hold four pairs of oarsmen abreast, and a single coxswain to steer at the rear.
They were twenty good men and Maege. Each one scaled in black boiled leather armor, with a quiver of arrows slung on one back shoulder, and a Summer Isle goldenheart bow on the other. Most fighters had their own selection of close quarter combat weapons that sat on their belts while a round black-painted wooden shield rested at the center of their backs. They wore no sigils and smeared mud spots on their faces to mimic dark ghostly shadows for this stealthy task. They were lightly armored and had fewer weapons, as their goal required speed. If all goes to plan, they would not need any of them. They could accomplish this mission without a soul lost on either side. But this approaching storm was not part of the plan.
The Blackfish made one last heroic call on the deck of the Motherfunker, before he lowered himself on the ladder, “Come with me and take this song!”
Rico added to the cry, “Come on brothers! Do you want to live forever!?!”
They roared proudly again and began their descent as the Summer Isle crewmen assisted the Westerosi to the ropes, sharing firm ebony and ivory handshakes as they told them they will be back.
Ser Brynden Tully reached the rear rowboat LionsJape along with June, Jory, Jess, Fess, Ben and Benjen. Though it was the end boat, it will be the first to fly.
Aboard the middle boat WinterStorm was Lady Maege Mormont, and the other six oarsmen Phyl, Rico, Sam the Shredder, Ser Barnabus the Goose, Scrooge, and Queen Jeyne’s brother Ser Raynald Westerling.
Lord Galbart Glover commandeered the third boat BattleWolf, which hung closer to the center of the swanship. On it were the younger men Donal, Mikkal, Raff, Leo, and Alesander, all merely teenagers.
As he watched from above, Ser Olyvar Frey thought they were little dark turtles crawling down the ladders with their black shields slung on their backs. As the last turtle, Olyvar hugged & kissed his sister Roslin, and then their brother Perwyn. Ser Perwyn Frey was Lady Tully’s sworn shield, charged with her life’s protection, and her unborn child’s too. Though they were all Frey as family, Rosby blood thorns in their veins as well. We were all just sweet Roses By another name, a horrible name.
Olyvar descended. Alesander Frey was waiting for him adjacent to an empty seat on the boat. He was Olyvar’s nephew, but because they were of a similar age, Alesander felt more like a cousin to him, a cousin that felt more like a brother. He wondered what their mothers would have thought if they saw them there now. As Olyvar sat, he stretched his arms wide at the starboard-bow of BattleWolf and the brothers both grabbed an oar each. Alesander sang and japed, “Are you ready to fly this boat to the moon somehow?”
“Nothing is impossible!” Olyvar smiled.
Ser Olyvar Frey never thought he would be on this boat, absorbing the wrath of the big blue watery roads, rocking BattleWolf as it clung to Motherfunker. But his new knightly confidence was so high he could roar at the Drowned God to look at him and tell him to piss off. But he knew better and kept his silence. With his Frey luck, he believed his corpse would be bedding with mermaids down under the sea if he ever cursed the Drowned God aloud.
The owner of the swanship Motherfunker was an exiled prince of the Summer Isles, a big man with a short black beard, shiny bald head and a dark patch over his left eye that he can’t see through. He was Captain Samullu Jaqenssen, but notoriously called the Black Sparrow … though Olyvar had never heard of him until recently. He and his crew were the only sailors that would assist them in their cause, hypnotized to be a part of their upcoming famous Westerosi song. He was to help navigate his galley at high speeds hugging the rocky coast of the Westerlands. With the three rowboats hung to the side of Motherfunker, it would be hard for the sentries on top of the Rock to spot from above. The Motherfunker stayed far away from the coastline to only emerge near their objective at the time of attack. With a single swanship with plain black sails, the Black Sparrow hoped that the Lannister watchmen would pay them no mind as a regular trading galley on its way to Lannisport or wherever, instead of a vessel for an amphibious assault on their castle. And the stronger the winds and the faster the ship, the window of time to be exposed was much shorter. “They had the need for speed, and the speed needed the wind,” Goose had said the night before. The gods have blessed them with strong winds now. They were to come with the sun setting at their backs in the west, blinding any coastal lookout. Because they were cursed with this approaching storm, the plan changed and they had to depart earlier. Olyvar prayed that this would not compromise the mission. Only time will tell.
Racing onto the storm and nearing the rising cliffs, the Captain spun his ship quickly to a southern course and gave the crewmen the signal to dismount. “Ahhhhhhhhh-ah Ahhhhhhhh-ah!”
“Get ready to push!” the Blackfish commanded.
Each oarsman pressed the tip of their long wooden stick onto the hull of the galley, ready to push off. The Summer Isle crewmen began severing the connections of the mothership and its three rowboats. Single-handed axes swung as LionsJape pushed itself off, the first of three. The rowboat plummeted and the waters swallowed it before spitting it back out just as quick. After allowing itself to lose in Motherfunker’s wake, the oarsmen redirected the bow towards the rocks at the Blackfish’s orders.
The WinterStorm followed right after with Lady Maege’s commands, “Push lads! Push! Push!” as it dropped.
Now it was BattleWolf’s turn. “Gods damn it, I’m too old for this shit,” Lord Glover said as he raised a gloved hand and swung it down, giving the signal to cut. At the main deck, the crewmen swung their axes, gleaming gold in the western sunlight as the oarsmen pushed off. For a heartbeat, the fall had taken Olyvar’s breath away as Lord Glover’s BattleWolf floated in the air. Are we flying? Are we on a dragon? His rowboat slammed into the water, splashing chilled wet droplets inside the boat and out. His hair of short black curls flew and fell, dampening at the plunge. The collision almost knocked Olyvar and the men overboard, but they hung on. The Motherfunker left them with a white salty wake as it headed south. Lord Glover then commanded the starboard men to pull their oars, aiming towards WinterStorm. Olyvar pulled. Once aligned, both sides of BattleWolf began to rev hard. The men were howling and roaring with each tension, trying to evade this dangerous zone of being spotted.
Since the Red Wedding and the death of his beloved King, Robb Stark, Olyvar could not sleep. Grief, anger, vengeance, insomnia and drowsiness took him over the days and nights that felt like half-dreams. But the crashing kiss of the water dive had re-woken Olyvar in shock, as he realized what they were about to do was no fantasy he had ever known. Nothing can stop us now, this is really happening. His heart was pounding to the rhythm of the oars and he wanted to scream his battle cry. He could still hear Jaqenssen the Black Sparrow sounding his siren “Ahhhhhhhh-ah Ahhhhhhh-ah!”
We are brothers loyal to the King in the North, the land of ice and snow. We serve Riverrun and Winterfell, where the hot springs flow. And now the divine winds of the gods had driven our mothership to the Westerlands. To fight for honor, the North will sing and the West will cry. Casterly Rock … Winter is Coming! On we sweep with threshing oars, our only goal will be the western shore!
As Olyvar’s oar rose and fell, he looked up to the windows of Casterly Rock’s tall stony towers, searching for the signaling candle light. But it could not be seen this early. Only when the sun was fully set as planned, this candle would replace it as the guiding light. They rowed by rocks and rocks and more rocks. Seagulls flew in spheres above them, chasing one another. The sun still hung in the air, slowly falling to splash onto the western horizon of the Sunset Sea. They then rowed by a courtyard that just floated on the earth forty feet above the sea’s surface. Suddenly on the other side of their boat, they eyed a whale skimming off the glimmering golden ocean. The boys of the vulnerable BattleWolf did not say a word as the monstrous water-beast swam the opposite direction just twenty yards away from them, paying them no mind. It was a good thing I did not curse the Drowned God as I was going to earlier.
Olyvar, Alesander, Leo, Mikkal, Raff and Donal were seated on Galbart Glover’s rowboat, rowing to Galbart Glover’s commands, “Row! Row! Row your boats you son o’ wh*res!” and taking in Galbart Glover’s cold stare as he eyed the two Freys specifically when he said it. Olyvar’s arms began to tire, but this was not the place to show weakness to his brothers. So he pulled on while keeping their rowboat as close to the stony walls as possible to avoid detection from above.
They trailed the Lady Bear while following the Blackfish. Soon after, Ser Brynden Tully had found his mark and grounded LionsJape onto a small beach. His men exited, flipped the rowboat above them and dashed forty yards straight toward the rocky edge, where a small barred cave was fitted at the base. Underneath the rusted iron, a thin valley of brown watery slush stank & trickled into the sand & sea. Everyone knew what that was when they agreed to participate in the assault. The Blackfish was told back at Riverrun about a sewer path inside Casterly Rock that allowed all the shit and piss to drain out to the ocean. This tiny hole by the foot of the mountain was all and everything for the mission.
When the sprinting men reached the end with their boat, they dropped it at the skirt and pressed themselves against the wall. The façade was conveniently arched outwards as it ascended, making it difficult to be sighted from above. With the waves muffling the noise of speech, any of them can speak freely outside at sea level. From the cliffs above, their human conversations below would only sound like ghostly whispers. No casual listener should be alerted to such. But hearing and seeing are different things, and they must not be seen.
WinterStorm and BattleWolf soon followed. As Olyvar departed BattleWolf, he cringed at the soreness of his arms that the work had left him. His arms will have to ache again as his squad lifted the rowboat above their heads. They stormed towards the barred entrance, with bow and quiver slung on each shoulder, a turtle shell shield at the center of his back. While the others carried shorter lighter personal weapons, Olyvar was equipped with a longsword that once belonged to his King, Robb Stark.
They dropped off BattleWolf when they reached the wall, waiting for a way in. Ten brothers on one side of the cave, and eleven on the other. The closest ones to the door had their small axes and weapons drawn along with their shields, while the further ones notched an arrow onto their bow. Olyvar had his Summer Isle goldenheart bow ready. The entrance was small, the same size as their black shields, guarding the realm of Casterly Rock, and they continued to wait.
This thunderstorm was coming, and it was not part of the plan. It was the Blackfish’s decision to leave Motherfunker earlier before the storm surges would flood the sewers of Casterly Rock. Their forty yard dash from the beach to the gate may be twenty yards if they arrived an hour later … and there may be no more exit by the time they escape back. But Stark loyalists hidden in the woods outside of the castle were told of executing this assault at the exact evenfall of Queen Jeyne Stark’s arrival to Casterly Rock. The Lannister soldier escorts would be exhausted from their march and acquired a false sense of security when they reached the safe comforts of the castle. The Stark land forces led by Lord Gawen Westerling would create a mummer’s farce with trumpets and drums, sending the weary Lannisters to one side, as the Blackfish himself attacked the other from the sea. Evenfall of this day was the golden time to do this, but they arrived an hour too early. With the storm, Olyvar prayed that everyone else would adjust to the plan. He wondered if Lord Westerling would account for the storm surges. But it makes no difference now. They were here, and they cannot turn back.
Suddenly the rusted iron of the barred cave unlocked and swung open, creaking like a loud squealing rat. Emerged was a crouching older man with a short gray beard and a jaw squared like a mason spice jar. “Welcome to the Rock!” Ser Rolph Spicer declared.
Ser Brynden greeted him with a hug, “I’m so glad you came early, we would be sleeping with the fishes if you were late.”
“It was Edmure’s idea to leave early, he said the storm would flood the sewers, and we prayed you would come sooner too.”
“Like that damn Mill again, Edmure acting prematurely? That boy will never learn! Thank the Gods!”
They both chuckled and began entering through the gate. The others soon followed, ducking into the small hole and into the darkness.
Once inside the caves of Casterly Rock, Ser Rolph grabbed his torchlight and lifted it to the air, showing the brothers the vastness. The lobby was an open abyss where the ceiling was fifty feet high. The walls had multiple rocky openings naturally carved in, small and large. Some were wide enough to walk through. Inside were all shadows, saved the areas illuminated by golden sunlight spying in through each seldom hole or fissure. Where the flames can brighten, hard brown rocks glowed and flickered, as well as old metal tracks, mining carts, abandoned tools, ladders, rusty chains and the occasional plant roots that brewed in the darkness of the caves. The smell reeked. Olyvar was sure there would be no real gold here as it was probably mined out over the centuries. Only shit shits down here in the sewers and caves of Lord Tywin Lannister’s home, not gold, Olyvar thought. This was where Lann the Clever started his legend, swindling the Casterly residents out of the castle, cheating them. It was their turn now to write history, these archers from the sea facing off with their own modern Casterly ploy … accomplishing it without being seen, doing it as faceless warriors.
They followed Ser Rolph and his torchlight in single file, going deeper up into the caves, fitting in burrowed hallways that barely fit them, pursuing his decisions at each fork in the paths, squishing their feet on sluggish wet slopes and steps. The very first entrance they encountered required them to descend a few yards before climbing up the rest of the way. It was hundreds of feet in elevation that they must ascend to. At times, the way was lit well enough. But at other instants, the darkness blinds them, only facing the brother in front of them for their flight. I have promises to keep. And steps to go before I sleep. And steps to go before I sleep.
“By now the guards at the top of the Rock should be asleep after I spiced up their ale,” Ser Rolph Spicer said with a cheeky smile. “Before my sister Sybell married into House Westerling, I explored these parts of Casterly Rock in my youth as a smuggler, going up and down many times. Your legs will tire, no doubt about that. But you lads are years younger than I, and I better hear no complaints unless I am the first one to make it.”
“I’ll do my best,” young Leo announced for himself.
“Your best?” Ser Spicer questioned. “Losers whine about their best. Winners rescue crowned queens.”
“Lady Jeyne Westerling-Stark is THE crowned Queen,” Leo replied.
“Is that so?” Ser Rolph gave Leo a sarcastic look with a raised eyebrow, before continuing up the steps inside the Rock.
“I’ll decide the turns and I’ll establish the security checkpoints. There, we can rest for a moment. A few of you will be left there to guard the area as the others will continue to ascend. Those few will wait until we fall back. But remember, the journey down is far less exhausting. For now, let’s go up and up. Ser Olyvar Frey, would you take the honor of watching our rear?”
Ser Olyvar Frey. The name was still queer to him. As much as he liked the ‘Ser’ in his name, he would like to rid the “Frey” in the surname. He had been the most loyal squire a king could have asked for. He would have stayed with King Robb Stark to the end of the world, but his own blood tore that away from him. Olyvar was not blind though. His young king had made grave mistakes, more than Olyvar wanted to count. As much as he would have favored his sister Roslin to marry him, Olyvar knew you cannot choose the people you love. And Robb genuinely loved another, he hoped. Jeyne Westerling was just as sweet as Roslin. Olyvar would have stayed at Robb’s side as his brother-in-law, or some uncle-in-law by Lord Edmure Tully. Though by choosing Jeyne, it slighted Olyvar’s father Lord Walder Frey. But Seven Hells father, did you have to murder him? At my sister’s wedding feast? Under your own roof? Under my roof? Robb Stark was my king. He was brave and good, and Olyvar Frey loved him. And his soul was tortured in sleepless days and nights, knowing he shared the same blood as the murderers … knowing he could have stopped it if it was not for impulse. You are an honorable fool Olyvar. His father had told him of the treacherous plan the day before, but Olyvar cursed it aloud, defending Robb as it was still his duty. You should’ve been smart and played stupid with father. You could have informed Robb while you were still free, breaking this bad dream. Olyvar shouldn’t have tried to bargain with his father. He should have known he made up his mind a long while ago. Olyvar was imprisoned in the dungeons of the Twins during the Red Wedding. The gaolers were japing at him, “Go ahead, do your duty. Save your king!”

My husband cheated several times, but this last one was more of an emotional affair. They shared their secrets, lives, and everything with eachother. She talked to him about how she regrets marrying her husband and she should move to our state and date my husband. She said some negative things about her husband, such as, he doesn't make her lunch or say thank you after she watched her kids all day. They go on to send spicy pictures and texts to eachother, and this has been going on for well over a year. This relationship felt different to me, like they were in love. My husband told me that they both know that they cant have eachother. However, he has played online games (like skyrim or whatever) with her kids, he knows their names and he even sent her $6,000 while I was unaware of the relationship at the time. I am currently divorcing him, but once that is done, I want to know if I should tell the husband about the things that went on between her and my husband?

There’s really not much too this and I just need some advice. For context to the explanation below, my MIL fiancé is basically and has been my wife’s and her siblings step father. We call him our son’s grampa cause he is to us. They’ve been together over 10 years and they just didn’t see a need to get married until recently.
My mother in law sent my wife and I a picture of HER FIANCÉ showering with my son while they were babysitting him and didn’t even ask us if that was okay.
I understand that it’s a thing some people do and I might have been more open to it being a discussion if they asked but this man isn’t even legally my father in law and im genuinely super fucking uncomfortable with that and even more so that they didn’t bother to ask my wife and I.
Am I overreacting or being too upset about this? Is this just a thing people do? I’m just looking for maybe some helpful words but right now I’m just really upset lol

2 years ago I caught my brother in law taking pictures of me in my bikini. We were hanging out as families (My sisters family , My brothers family and my husband and I). The day plan was to go boating, dinner at my sisters and then for my husband and I to stay over. On the boat My brother in law usually takes lots of photos so it wasn’t strange that he had his phone out snapping pictures. But he was leaning strange and seemingly taking photos of me beside him ( aimed at my boobs). At one point on the boat my sister said “ it looks like ( name of brother in law) is taking photos of your boobs”. I had felt that he was so her saying this confirmed it for me. But in the moment I brushed it off. I noticed many separate times that he was doing this. After we got off the boat and were packing up , I pulled my sister aside and briefly said to her that I felt like he was and her saying it confirmed it for me. It was a quick convo because we were packing up. On the drive to dinner I told my husband and he was shocked. We both agreed this was incredibly strange and out of character for my BIL. My husband said if my gut feeling was that he had done it, then it was probably true that he did and to trust my gut. We got to their place and my sister had asked her husband if he had taken pictures of me (she did this privately with just him). He denied it. I was feeling sick at this point because it was so uncomfortable for me. I liked my BIL and although we’re not super close , I’m extremely close with my sister. He had never put me in a position like this and it was hard for me to believe that he had sexualized me like this. The next day she had asked him again and he denied it. He let her go through his phone and she didn’t see anything. Fast forward a year and my sister found photos on his phone of their daughter’s soccer coaches boobs. She was extremely upset about it. She confronted him about it and then also brought up me on the boat. He admitted to it and said he was embarrassed and deleted them right away. She asked why he did it and he didn’t give a reason. My sister asked how I felt about it and I told her that I would support her however she wanted to deal with this because it is her husband and her marriage. They were already in couples therapy because he had given one of his female coworkers money ( something like $800). He said he had done this because she was in tough times and had a young child. The coworker had threatened my BIL to give her more money or would tell my sister “everything”. He said there wasn’t anything to tell and so the co worker started messaging my sister on Facebook ( that they had a sexual relationship) and commenting on her pictures (“ what a nice family”). The female coworker was apparently threatening another male coworker but was going to call child services on him if he didn’t give her money. Apparently thier HR was made aware of these threats but she was later fired because of her active cocaine use on the job. Anyway. They stopped going to therapy because they felt that this issue had been resolved between them. When I asked my sister what the therapist said about the photos she said that they didn’t talk about it before they stopped. Because they were already in therapy I had assumed my sister would work through this issue but she/ they haven’t… The visits after my sister found the photos- my BIL would barely make eye contact with me nor conversation. It felt to me like he was embarrassed. It was just awkward for me. I love my sister deeply. I do not want to do anything to hurt her and keeping this a secret is a way I feel like I am protecting her and giving her space to deal with this without having any social pressures from others. We are coming up on 2 years and I need closure. I told my sister this and we agreed to have a group conversation about it ( us and our husbands). She admitted she was ignoring this issue between all of us and would talk to her husband about it. She asked for some time and I agreed- I told her I’d give her a couple months ( end of summer). We are at the start of summer now and am feeling nervous for this conversation. My husband and I have talked about it lots. He thinks I should be blatantly honest about my feelings. I worry if I do this it will drive a huge wedge between my sister and I. My current thoughts: 1. I do not want him alone with my daughter. She is a baby but even now my husband and I both currently feel uncomfortable when he holds her. 2. I am his only “sister” . He has always said that he loves me like a little sister and was so happy to get one when he married into the family. But for him to sexualize me like this makes me never want to trust him again. 3. I think that he is / has done more than what he has been caught with ( ex. The co worker). And my sister deserves the full truth from him. When we all hang out as families , we act like nothing is wrong and it can be really nice! I love my sister and her family and it feels so much easier to just slightly recognize that this happened ( cause I haven’t acknowledged this with my BIL yet) and move on. Selfishly I want to be super honest to hurt my BIL. It currently feels like he is getting away with his weird selfish behaviour and I want him to hear how his actions have impacts. But I also feel like it won’t go well?
Any alternative advice for moving forward? Should we have the meeting? Should I put this story to my other siblings and their significant others?
TLDR; My BIL got caught taking weird sexualized pictures of myself and his daughter’s soccer coach. Trying to move forward with my relationship with my sister who I adore but cannot trust him anymore because of his behaviour and looking for advice.

Paul considered the reality where all of this religion stuff is a lie. When one considers that reality, they adopt the YOLO mentality where you have as much fun(subjective to the person) as possible until you die and like an animal never exist again because we aren’t that special after all. Good Christian’s live holy(separate from sin/bad company) and suffer for living as such. They don’t fill every hole inside of them with lies/delusions/vanity, they wait on God.
God gives mankind the option to decide whether they want him(better than everything else), or this present world(emboldened evil, delusional, liars, manipulators). If you choose this world, you don’t have to humble yourself, admit the deep meaning behind just being dust(nothing), and suffer. You don’t let your troubled conscience refine you as you face your issues. You can find bad company to be around, distract yourself from God, validate eachother, and move forward through the years(of course your sin will find you out, but when that happens you can just delude yourself further so that you don’t repent or admit you chose foolishly). If you choose God, you suffer under the mighty hand of God and grow in wisdom/glory/strength over time. This requires humility and endurance. You have to admit where you messed up, repent, sorrow, hate yourself, hate your life, and wait for the invisible God by faith. This is why, for the most part, God’s people are weak/lower-intelligence/timid/etc… God chose a man/woman who couldn’t reproduce and made a nation innumerable. You have to be humbled to the core so that GOD can come inside of you and put the prideful world who hates him to shame and win some of them.
Throughout the Old Testament, tons of Israelites fell away from God or didn’t follow God 100% with their whole heart. Throughout the New Testament, people falling away from the faith are mentioned/warned against a lot.
God wants a people who hate the system of this world and suffer for him. If you do this, he considers you worthy of him, if not, he is ashamed of you. If you choose God, you choose light/love/goodness/humility. If you choose to love your life more than God, you choose darkness/evil/delusion/pride. You cannot choose your own life over God without deluding yourself to get by while being deliberately evil. The biggest pain in the butt for the willfully ignorant unbeliever is their moral conscience, they have to shut it out and control their atmosphere. Any scent of moral accountability and they have a nervous breakdown because they are entitled to live in God’s world with his gifts without submitting to him and his law.
I used to believe in once saved always saved. This is obviously different. We aren’t relying on our own works, we humble ourselves like a child and let God do his. However, if we don’t, God isn’t doing his works, and we let our filthy wicked works reign. These people may identify as Christian but they are not sown on good ground. God shows no favoritism towards these evil people who identify under his religion, in fact he is harder on them. Those people will perish under more extreme judgement.
God is fine with people living and dying like animals. For deluding themselves into ignoring him in this gift of life he gave them, they will miss out on the blessings in this life like an actual marriage without corruption, children who honor them, blessings throughout their path, etc… their hateful, lustful nature will dictate all of their relationships. You can’t live in God’s world with his breath, food, shelter, and pretend he doesn’t exist. You don’t like God’s goodness enough? Try to form your own relationships mixing good and deliberate evil as intelligently as you can, but playing with this fire will get you burned. God is not mocked. I don’t know many people who want to get married just to get cheated on. A faithful healthy relationship with a spouse is a miracle gift from God.
For the wise who are zealous for him, they receive blessings in this life, and in the age to come eternal life.
In this way, some might say life is a “test”. Idk what kind of picture that paints about God. It is on the people to choose good or evil, life or death. People who complain about God are entitled people looking to excuse all of this out of their conscience. You have no good reason to complain about a God who is love. He loves those wicked people enough to give them breath even when they hate him.
“in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience testifying and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them, on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of mankind through Christ Jesus.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭2‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭

my husband (29m) and i (25f) have been together 8 years and married for 3. he has 2 younger sisters (K22 & R19). for some context: when my husband was born, his mom & dad weren’t together but got back together when he was 5. he was raised differently than his sisters with that age gap. when his sisters were preteens & my husband was basically an adult, his dad started to make a lot of money. his sister grew up very spoiled. they got/get everything they want. they drive luxury cars, get gifted luxury bags & clothing for bdays & christmas. disney trips every summer & other trips for xmas break. not saying it’s a bad thing but just stating what it is.
they are also the favorites. in his parents house, the walls are covered in pictures of the girls and none of my husband. anything we do is based around the girls, especially R. she’s the baby of the family and most decisions revolve around her. R is also incredibly mean and nasty to people. the shit i’ve heard her say to her mom and dad are insane and would’ve gotten me laid out on the floor. again, just stating how things are.
okay so my husband and i did not go to college. we both went for a semester and dropped out. just wasn’t for us. we would much rather work. his mom & dad also did not go to college. his dad was a director of operations at an LLC that owned a chain restaurant which is where my husband and i met. he ended up quitting and me, my husband, and his dad put our money together and started an LLC and became franchisees for a pizza company where we own 4 restaurants in texas.
both K & R are/went to college. their dad pays for their college, apartment rent, anything they do/where they go. during summer breaks, they’re back at home or still in their apartments. they don’t get jobs or anything.
for my family life, i haven’t talked to my parents in 15 years due to them being addicts & abusing me physically/sexually throughout my childhood. the only family in my life are my grandparents.
OKAY SO sorry that was really long but just trying to set up the family dynamic. now here’s the story.
his sisters and i had some drama 6 years ago stemming from them being really fucking rude to me all the time. like not just teasing how siblings do but i mean calling me fat, ugly, saying i was boring or whatever. on my 21st bday, i spent it with my husbands fam and R told me it was embarrassing bc i wasn’t even really their family. to be fair, i was trying too hard to get close with them and needed to go to therapy for my own family issues.
K & i reconciled from that drama and are cool. we don’t hang out or anything but we talk frequently and can have fun together. R on the other hand still holds some resentment towards me. it doesn’t bother me too much bc whatever i can’t force her to like me but she’ll give me little digs every now and then.
but this past weekend, my husband and i went over to his parents house for an early fathers day lunch. it was only R there since K is out of town so it’s already awkward. R already starts saying how my husband is being annoying. whatever it’s typical R. well, my husband, me, and his mom start giving his dad a hard time about something. we’re just joking around but his dad gets upset and goes outside and slams the door. he gets annoyed like this and then gets over it and it’s no issue. like the entire family thing is constantly teasing and messing with each other (within reason). someone always gets upset and then gets over it. (also a few minutes later his dad came back in laughing and saying something to my husband) but after this, R goes to where my husband and i are sitting and says “you guys are losers. go to college and get a degree instead of working at a gross restaurant. i have a 4.0 and i’m going to be a dentist and you both are still going to be gross restaurant workers. you’re literally losers.”
her mom is standing behind her the entire time and says nothing for a few moments and then says “family dinners are always so fun.” i just rolled my eyes and laughed bc i didn’t really know what else to say. the rest of lunch was uncomfortable. after my husband and i went home i laid in bed for the rest of the day as it really started to dawn on me how hurt i was. not only for myself but also for my husband.
the next day i told my husband i didn’t want to interact with his sister anymore. he agreed and said she crossed the line and she needs to mature and get more life experience.
im glad we’re on the same page but i also am worried about how it’s going to effect my relationship with the rest of the family. i love his mom and dad, and K. but i just don’t see how we’re all able to coexist in this dynamic with R being how she is.
for anybody that’s going to say “you’re just jealous and wished your parents paid for your stuff blah blah blah” uh fuck yeah?? i wish i didn’t have to work my ass off and was given luxury cars at 16. i feel like that’s obvious lmao.
TLDR my husbands youngest sister said hurtful shit to us and now i want to cut off contact with her.

With the recent leaks about Alicole being confirmed, I see people call Alicent a hypocrite for it. Saying that she judged Rhaenyra for sleeping with Cole and now she's doing it.
When has Alicent EVER judged Rhaenyra for sleeping with Cole or any of her sexual partners? Alicent didn't have a problem with Rhaenyra being sexually active, Alicent had a problem with the consequences that Rhaenyra caused by doing it.
Alicent vouched for Rhaenyra to choose her own husband, Rhaenyra ruined it by sneaking out with Daemon and finishing with Cole. The action also got her father fired. Rhaenyra then lied about it to Alicent. Rhaenyra ruined her own opportunity to have her own husband by sleeping with Daemon/Cole, she was forced to marry Laenor and in a result of that Rhaenyra had to mother bastards and commit treason trying to crown them as lords and kings.
Rhaenyra's careless actions harmed those who Alicent cared about. Her father was fired and Cole wanted to off himself. It wasn't the sleeping with them that Alicent was upset about.
Alicent was even chill about Rhaenyra mothering bastards. "To have one child like that is a mistake, to have three is an insult"
I feel like everyone is creating their own head canons about Alicent to form their opinion because everything she has done/said in the show proves that she isn't this stuck up, highly religious, highly judgemental, spiteful bitch but instead a woman who rightfully calls out people for their actions while also being sympathetic and understanding about it as well.
TLDR: The way people read Alicent's character is something. The way they picture her is the exact opposite we see when she's on screen. She is not upset about Rhaenyra sleeping with Cole or anyone for that matter, she's not even upset about the bastards. She's upset with the consequences that it caused. Consequences that harmed/can harm her loved ones in return.

I have a 5yr old autistic son with nex. Nex married a woman (whom I believe may be a sociopath- or at least a really smart and cruel narcissist). She had just been released from prison for kidnapping 2 people and beating the shit out of them for 2 days before she released them, and she took her then 9yr old daughter along to watch all of this. When I found out about her record ( by googling her name) I told them that I didn’t want my son around her. Nobody backed me up, nobody- everyone said “we give people second chances”. I thought well give her a second chance with your kids not my sweet nonverbal autistic child, who can’t even tell me if she does something to him. Anyways prior to all of this I was pretty close to his family. After this woman came into the picture everything changed drastically. We are no longer close. The nex and his new wife took me to court for shared custody- prior to meeting her the nex didn’t have much to do with my son- he would see him a couple hours a week max. All of the sudden they want him 3.5 days a week. Well thankfully the judge allowed me to show him one of the many newspaper articles about her crime and awarded me sole custody and nex got one night a week visitation and the wife is not allowed to be alone with my son. Shortly after court they got a pit bull- which obviously scares the shit outta me for when my son is there. About 2 months after court they decided that they don’t want to spend every Friday night taking care of my son they want to do it every other week- to which I said fine, no problem, I’d love it if my son never went over there. Also important information- my son is level 3 autistic- nonverbal. I do not work I stay home and care for my son, which leaves us absolutely broke. Well they claimed my son on their taxes and kept every cent of it for their greedy selves. Anyway I just want the whole lot of these people out of my life but grandma calls or txts me every other day. They do nothing to help with my son but they love to judge how I do things. I’m just tired. It’s exhausting I adore my son, but it’s not easy and I do not need to be judged by people who do absolutely nothing to help. I want to end this situation of her calling or txting me ever other day but I don’t want to do it in a way that will cause them to retaliate because I just cannot deal with this shit anymore. I would never keep my son from seeing his grandparents but they never ask to see him, I honestly feel like she’s just keeping tabs on us. Like she’s the one that can call to get information, it’s not out of love, it’s so they can continue to judge. I’d rather have nobody in my life then have people that just want to judge me.

I just need a place to share our story to where someone will hear it, rather than just shouting it inside my head all day long. I have almost no friends or family I can be this vulnerable with, so I thought I’d give the entire internet a go, anonymously. Here goes.
My husband and I have been married for about 10 years. We have 4 little kids, all under 6. A little over 5 years ago, my husband confessed to me that he had a serious 🌽 addiction he had been hiding for me for our entire relationship. His confession felt like a trap door opened, and I fell through it as he explained each and every lie he had been telling all this time. It was an uphill battle to rescue our marriage after all of that deceit and betrayal. He went to a twelve step and truly turned things around, and has been sober ever since a few months into his journey. We really did recover from that time and our trust has been repaired. We set fresh boundaries with opposite sx relationships and really put up hedges of protection around our marriage.
Fast forward to about 8 months ago.
He confessed that during his addiction, he also sought out and frequently returned to old 🌽 pictures of his close female friend (they are no longer friends, as I mentioned earlier we changed that up). When this came up, I asked to see his old messages with her and as it would appear to me, they had a full on emotional affair, in addition him viewing these pictures. Whether or not she knew he was looking at them isn’t known because they never talked about that, but hints were dropped.
They’d have longggg text conversations and hang out all the time. She worked at his office. They had lunch together every day just about. She was VERY openly flirty with him and rude toward me. They talked about all sorts of things and clearly had a close emotional bond as well as some flirty moments as well, and then the pictures he intentionally searched for and found from a previous 🌽 shoot she did years before that he was viewing all throughout this inappropriate friendship. Of course, that part is one sided. But still.
Of course when he told me this I was devastated by this and instantly went to a place of comparison. Keep in mind that this woman is an ex 🌽 worker and I am just a freshly postpartum stay at home mom of 4. I asked my husband, in a desperate pursuit of something that may make me feel better, if he liked me better than her.
Side note (sorry in advance for all the side notes haha) my husband has diagnosed OCD and bipolar II. Brutal and compulsive honesty is a huge symptom and though we have been working on this problem for much of our marriage, it still rears its head once in a while. My husbands mental health problems are a massive burden on him and of course I support him in his healing however, his untreated mental health problems have also wrecked havoc over our relationship and made it really difficult for me, as well.
Back to the question I asked him that caused the downfall of the last 8 months of my life:
He told me no. He told me he liked her better. He told me she was thinner. He told me she didn’t have stretch marks (she’s never had a baby) he told me she gets ready every day and does her make up. I don’t.
This hurt terribly, so I asked more questions, yet again seeking more reassurance. I know you’ll think that’s dumb, and in hindsight, so do I. But this was all so shocking. Never in our marriage has he spoken about my body this brutally. He’s never made a single negative comment about my appearance whatsoever. This came as a complete shock and I was hoping I just misunderstood. I wasn’t expecting what came next.
He had an absolute meltdown, confessing to me every mean and dark thought he had ever had about me and our marriage. He told me he regrets marrying me, he thinks about leaving, he thinks I’m less attractive than most women, he’s not proud to be with me, liked me better before I had children, thinks he can do better and he settled, he compares me to every woman he sees and routinely finds that the other woman is better, and so much more.
From this space, I’m sure it sounds like he said this all out of spite with some harsh tone of voice, just trying to hurt me any way he can. In reality, he was weeping and drowning in shame. He thought confessing these things to me would help, and claims he had no idea I’d be as destroyed as I am. This confuses me to this day, but two therapists have explained that this can happen with bipolar as sometimes the internal world can be so extremely painful that the external world feels out of touch at times, and that’s what my husband described this as.
I don’t know how relevant this information is, but I think it’s worth saying, I don’t think he was wrong when he was saying all of that. I was overweight by a significant amount, and drowning in child rearing, breastfeeding, housework, and postpartum depression. When he spoke this to me, I had already been on a somewhat new weight loss journey and had already lost 20lbs. Since then, I’ve lost 50 more (70 total) and I am now at a healthy weight and body fat percentage is within the athletic range as I’ve picked up running to cope with all this stress. I’ve also made a lot of changes to my appearances just by doing my hair and makeup every day, showering daily, and dressing cute for the day. I have been feeling more confident and more able to love myself in these ways as I watch my hard work pay off. This has led to me receiving a lot of male attention for my appearances more recently, sometimes when my husband is with me even.
It has been over eight months since that horrific day. It has been a STRUGGLE. We are both in individual counseling and marriage counseling weekly, spending a fortune and hours upon hours of our time on healing. We’re both taking meds at this point for mental health. We’re both reading endless self help books, talking with mentors, absolutely drenching our lives with healing because our marriage is that important to both of us. My husband has been on a mission to learn more about why he had this previously mentioned emotional affair. He is uncovering some unhealed childhood wounds and unmet needs. In addition to seeing a psych and a therapist, he’s in a men’s support group, and has weekly calls with a mentor just to try to work through some of this mess. He’s doing a lot of work on these issues.
In the past eight months, my husband has gone from claiming he’s not proud to be with me because I’m not very attractive to now claiming I’m the most beautiful woman and he married way up. He sees the male attention and can be somewhat protective in the moment and give a glare or whatever, but then when we get home later he tells me he knows how pretty I am and isn’t too bothered by others telling me so because he knows I’m his. He showers me in constant compliments these days, brings me home flowers here or there, random iced coffees on his lunch break, shows up to marriage counseling with pen and pad and reviews his notes throughout the week, takes me for date night weekly, sends me off for a surprise afternoon shopping break from the kids randomly from time to time, texts and calls me throughout the day, and just pours effort into our marriage. When we fight or I get triggered, he just listens and apologizes and tries to comfort me, even when I say the most ridiculous and mean stuff. Of course sometimes he messes up and says things that offend me and he quickly takes responsibility. He’s made a LOT of changes since 5 years ago and many changes since 8 months ago as well.
But then there’s me. I have been a disaster ever since that day. I am so hot and cold. I toggle between being certain I’m hideous and unlovable and being certain I’m loved and safe. I find myself frantic with anxiety, always waiting on the other shoe to drop. I will randomly just feel like he’s cheating on me or feel like he’s hiding something, and it will eat me up until I talk with him about it and he hands me all his devices and I look through them all. I’m constantly mirror checking, certainly have body dysmorphia, and although I’ve lost the vast majority of the weight in a healthy way, I’ve teetered at times on the edge of an eating disorder. I am struggling to believe a positive word he says and feeling so sure he’s going to flip any second now and break me down with his words.
We just had such a close marriage and to find out that not only did he have this inappropriate relationship with this woman, but he also willingly let himself resent me so much for just struggling on my hardest days. I completely get needing to express to your partner that you want them to take better care of themselves and I’m certain that conversation has to be difficult no matter how well it’s handled, but I feel like I was really beaten down in a way I did not deserve. And now I’m really struggling to trust that we’re ok now and we can leave it in the past. How do I stop comparing myself to every other woman we walk by? How can I trust that he’s not still just resenting me for my appearances? How do I believe a single kind word he says? How do I forgive him for that disaster, knowing we both walked away with so much that we needed in the end anyway? And how do I stop believing I am married to someone who doesn’t love me?

I f(23) have a sister who we will call Sarah(f19) who recently met a guy (M21) at a coffee shop one night while she was with our family friend who we’ll call Danya. She didn’t tell me about the guy until after she 2 weeks of getting to know him. He has the intention of marrying her but he keeps making excuses as to why. From the minute she told me about him and how he wants to marry her, I said to tell our parents and she didn’t want to because she said they will rush everything and they wouldn’t understand, and that they will embarrass her. I tried reassuring her but she was set on not telling them yet. At first they would go on supervised dates with Danya and they had an absolute no touching rule. Even if it was an accidental push, she would say don’t touch me.
One day Danya got the flu, and she couldn’t go on their date so they had to cancel. After that Sarah and him started going on unsupervised visits which I wasn’t okay with due to the fact that anything can happen, but I didn’t say anything. I can’t go with them because I have two babies and they would only meet up between 7pm-9pm because he gave her a curfew of being at home at 10pm. But we have another sister who knows about their relationship and his sister knows about theirs as well.
She then started to see him more often and I guess reality hit her or something and told him she wants to stop talking since she wants this to be a halal relationship. So they went no contact for a few and then she broke contact with him because she thought he liked Danya. So they started hanging out again and I was like what happened to going no contact. She said they are going back to no contact after that week. The last day she saw him before going no contact they hugged and she smelled like him. I got mad and said what happened to your no touching rule, she said it was just a simple hug. I told her it better not happen again. So then they went back to no contact. 2 weeks later they broke no contact because something happened again.
Then today I saw she had posted something on her Snapchat and it was a picture of her holding his face with a kiss mark on his cheek. I was so livid. I called her and I asked what did she just post. She said it was from a really long time ago but I know it wasn’t that long ago due to the nails she had on in the photo. They were the ones she wore for our brothers graduation party that was in the end of May. I just said okay and hung up. I then proceeded to text her how I’m annoyed with her and how they went from no touching to touching to a kiss on the cheek and that for the sake of the both of them to either stop seeing each other or tell our mom about him. I also said how they constantly make decisions about their relationship in the haram and that if they are ready to do all that then she should tell our parents because he already told his. She replied with a ❤️. I then simply sent her a a message asking to just make sure she pays my husband her phone bills and to no longer contact me for anything and that inshallah Allah gives her what she wants and more. After that blocked her and then she texted me on Snapchat saying I always let my emotions cloud my judgement. I replied ❤️ and left it at that.
All I’m doing is trying to keep her following in my footsteps and being in a haram relationship before getting married. I know what it’s like and I don’t want her going through that. I want her to be better and yes I have mentioned that to her before. I don’t want the shaytan to influence them to do anything stupid or extreme. All haram relationships have consequences but she just doesn’t want to hear it. I’m trying to guide her and to let her not fall into the traps I fell into but she just doesn’t listen. She wants to learn on her own. We mean a lot to each other and I know this is hurting her as much as it’s hurting me. So AITA? Or a hypocrite?
PS they don’t want to tell their parents the real way they met. They want to say that they seen each other at school. But I think the way they met was way much better and that they shouldn’t hide it.

Well first off I’ll state I’m pretty fucked up. Bipolar type 1, 2 CVAs (strokes), brain mass (inoperable), GERD causing esophagitis and duodenitis, PTSD, and various other things. I’ve wanted to die since I was 11, probably would have been diagnosed with MDD if I had ever voiced it or my parents payed more attention to it. As I aged the manic and depression episodes began. After having migraines for years, they ordered CT of brain probably with and without contrast and oh boy they freaked. That’s when they found out about the CVAs and brain mass. I was set up with a neurosurgeon and they monitored it very closely due to location. If they fucked up by 0.5mm, I would bleed out on the table before they could clamp it. This happened just after turning 18. Needless to say, I sorta lost it not knowing how much time I had days, weeks, months, years. No one could tell me. Never really had much of a fear of death, but this completely took it away. Found my first love and she played me so fucking well she deserves an Oscar. Pathological liar. After I realized that I would never be enough for her I cut her out of my life and never looked back. Lots of alcohol, drugs, lady friends, erratic driving (only by myself with no one else near me), stupid shit on bikes, you get the picture. At 19/20, I met the second love of my life. She was fucking amazing and very sweet. We didn’t put labels on it, but neither of us were seeing anyone else. I was actually considering marrying this woman. She lived 2.5-3hrs away, but the commute never bothered me (she was borderline narcoleptic so she couldn’t drive long distances without potentially passing out). Eventually we had a fight about something and stopped talking for close to a month. I hit her up and was shocked to find out that she was in a relationship. She was still in to me, but wanted to see where it went with this guy, so I backed off. I still love her, but I had to let her go for someone that is stable. She deserves to be happy. Haven’t spoken since. That shit plus the first woman combined put my heart on ice. I literally don’t trust anyone anymore at this point. Damn sure was not a saint, but around 20, I got into EMS cause I wanted to help others with whatever time I had left. Did that for many years and definitely caused some scars and PTSD, but I helped the ones that I could, and for that I’m thankful. As I entered EMS, I got clean, but still drank. My drinking became more frequent and higher volume. Getting fucked up was the only way to cope. Got loaded and got the cops called on me for SI. Talked my way out of it when I said “Are you really willing to go to court over this?” He and the other cops dipped after a few exchanges. Long story short, my mom convinced me to go to the hospital. This was my first and shortest admit. I’ve been an inpatient over 10 times now for alcohol SI and SA (failed, cops go into my house quick enough to stop me from bleeding out). Currently I am 15 months sober after staying almost a month as inpatient. My meds have changed sooooo many times. So yeah, I hate sobriety with all of my being. I’m pissed off about existing and yes I know about familial love, but I don’t really believe in love. It’s just a matter of time till I relapse and/or kill myself. Heh this is my first post here and it might not even go through, but fuck it. I honestly don’t know why I typed this because no one fucking cares.. If anyone actually reads this I’ll be surprised.

I just need a place to share our story to where someone will hear it, rather than just shouting it inside my head all day long. I have almost no friends or family I can be this vulnerable with, so I thought I’d give the entire internet a go, anonymously. Here goes.
My husband and I have been married for about 10 years. We have 4 little kids, all under 6. A little over 5 years ago, my husband confessed to me that he had a serious 🌽 addiction he had been hiding for me for our entire relationship. His confession felt like a trap door opened, and I fell through it as he explained each and every lie he had been telling all this time. It was an uphill battle to rescue our marriage after all of that deceit and betrayal. He went to a twelve step and truly turned things around, and has been sober ever since a few months into his journey. We really did recover from that time and our trust has been repaired. We set fresh boundaries with opposite sx relationships and really put up hedges of protection around our marriage.
Fast forward to about 8 months ago.
He confessed that during his addiction, he also sought out and frequently returned to old 🌽 pictures of his close female friend (they are no longer friends, as I mentioned earlier we changed that up). When this came up, I asked to see his old messages with her and as it would appear to me, they had a full on emotional affair, in addition him viewing these pictures. Whether or not she knew he was looking at them isn’t known because they never talked about that, but hints were dropped.
They’d have longggg text conversations and hang out all the time. She worked at his office. They had lunch together every day just about. She was VERY openly flirty with him and rude toward me. They talked about all sorts of things and clearly had a close emotional bond as well as some flirty moments as well, and then the pictures he intentionally searched for and found from a previous 🌽 shoot she did years before that he was viewing all throughout this inappropriate friendship. Of course, that part is one sided. But still.
Of course when he told me this I was devastated by this and instantly went to a place of comparison. Keep in mind that this woman is an ex 🌽 worker and I am just a freshly postpartum stay at home mom of 4. I asked my husband, in a desperate pursuit of something that may make me feel better, if he liked me better than her.
Side note (sorry in advance for all the side notes haha) my husband has diagnosed OCD and bipolar II. Brutal and compulsive honesty is a huge symptom and though we have been working on this problem for much of our marriage, it still rears its head once in a while. My husbands mental health problems are a massive burden on him and of course I support him in his healing however, his untreated mental health problems have also wrecked havoc over our relationship and made it really difficult for me, as well.
Back to the question I asked him that caused the downfall of the last 8 months of my life:
He told me no. He told me he liked her better. He told me she was thinner. He told me she didn’t have stretch marks (she’s never had a baby) he told me she gets ready every day and does her make up. I don’t.
This hurt terribly, so I asked more questions, yet again seeking more reassurance. I know you’ll think that’s dumb, and in hindsight, so do I. But this was all so shocking. Never in our marriage has he spoken about my body this brutally. He’s never made a single negative comment about my appearance whatsoever. This came as a complete shock and I was hoping I just misunderstood. I wasn’t expecting what came next.
He had an absolute meltdown, confessing to me every mean and dark thought he had ever had about me and our marriage. He told me he regrets marrying me, he thinks about leaving, he thinks I’m less attractive than most women, he’s not proud to be with me, liked me better before I had children, thinks he can do better and he settled, he compares me to every woman he sees and routinely finds that the other woman is better, and so much more.
From this space, I’m sure it sounds like he said this all out of spite with some harsh tone of voice, just trying to hurt me any way he can. In reality, he was weeping and drowning in shame. He thought confessing these things to me would help, and claims he had no idea I’d be as destroyed as I am. This confuses me to this day, but two therapists have explained that this can happen with bipolar as sometimes the internal world can be so extremely painful that the external world feels out of touch at times, and that’s what my husband described this as.
I don’t know how relevant this information is, but I think it’s worth saying, I don’t think he was wrong when he was saying all of that. I was overweight by a significant amount, and drowning in child rearing, breastfeeding, housework, and postpartum depression. When he spoke this to me, I had already been on a somewhat new weight loss journey and had already lost 20lbs. Since then, I’ve lost 50 more (70 total) and I am now at a healthy weight and body fat percentage is within the athletic range as I’ve picked up running to cope with all this stress. I’ve also made a lot of changes to my appearances just by doing my hair and makeup every day, showering daily, and dressing cute for the day. I have been feeling more confident and more able to love myself in these ways as I watch my hard work pay off. This has led to me receiving a lot of male attention for my appearances more recently, sometimes when my husband is with me even.
It has been over eight months since that horrific day. It has been a STRUGGLE. We are both in individual counseling and marriage counseling weekly, spending a fortune and hours upon hours of our time on healing. We’re both taking meds at this point for mental health. We’re both reading endless self help books, talking with mentors, absolutely drenching our lives with healing because our marriage is that important to both of us. My husband has been on a mission to learn more about why he had this previously mentioned emotional affair. He is uncovering some unhealed childhood wounds and unmet needs. In addition to seeing a psych and a therapist, he’s in a men’s support group, and has weekly calls with a mentor just to try to work through some of this mess. He’s doing a lot of work on these issues.
In the past eight months, my husband has gone from claiming he’s not proud to be with me because I’m not very attractive to now claiming I’m the most beautiful woman and he married way up. He sees the male attention and can be somewhat protective in the moment and give a glare or whatever, but then when we get home later he tells me he knows how pretty I am and isn’t too bothered by others telling me so because he knows I’m his. He showers me in constant compliments these days, brings me home flowers here or there, random iced coffees on his lunch break, shows up to marriage counseling with pen and pad and reviews his notes throughout the week, takes me for date night weekly, sends me off for a surprise afternoon shopping break from the kids randomly from time to time, texts and calls me throughout the day, and just pours effort into our marriage. When we fight or I get triggered, he just listens and apologizes and tries to comfort me, even when I say the most ridiculous and mean stuff. Of course sometimes he messes up and says things that offend me and he quickly takes responsibility. He’s made a LOT of changes since 5 years ago and many changes since 8 months ago as well.
But then there’s me. I have been a disaster ever since that day. I am so hot and cold. I toggle between being certain I’m hideous and unlovable and being certain I’m loved and safe. I find myself frantic with anxiety, always waiting on the other shoe to drop. I will randomly just feel like he’s cheating on me or feel like he’s hiding something, and it will eat me up until I talk with him about it and he hands me all his devices and I look through them all. I’m constantly mirror checking, certainly have body dysmorphia, and although I’ve lost the vast majority of the weight in a healthy way, I’ve teetered at times on the edge of an eating disorder. I am struggling to believe a positive word he says and feeling so sure he’s going to flip any second now and break me down with his words.
We just had such a close marriage and to find out that not only did he have this inappropriate relationship with this woman, but he also willingly let himself resent me so much for just struggling on my hardest days. I completely get needing to express to your partner that you want them to take better care of themselves and I’m certain that conversation has to be difficult no matter how well it’s handled, but I feel like I was really beaten down in a way I did not deserve. And now I’m really struggling to trust that we’re ok now and we can leave it in the past. How do I stop comparing myself to every other woman we walk by? How can I trust that he’s not still just resenting me for my appearances? How do I believe a single kind word he says? How do I forgive him for that disaster, knowing we both walked away with so much that we needed in the end anyway? And how do I stop believing I am married to someone who doesn’t love me?

I would love to get your opinion on my girlfriend's suggestion as I feel everything is complicated right now and I can't make sense of it all.
We've been dating for four years. It's been a wonderful relationship at times and a nightmare at others. Believe me, we both gave everything we had to this relationship, and I have no doubt about that.
During these four years, we've had many issues and many big fights. Initially, I thought my girlfriend had defensiveness issues, which caused our nasty fights. She would get defensive about something I said and would explode in rage against me. Early in the relationship, I was just confused by her anger, as it seemed a bit odd. At the time, I brushed it off as just hormones. I also brushed it off as a result of past trauma she had experienced. I thought maybe if I showed her all the love I had for her, she would get past it. But as the relationship progressed, I couldn’t hold back anymore, and I started engaging in those moments of anger, which led to nasty fights. I said some of the meanest things in response to her anger, especially when I began to notice how she would derail the conversation. She would also make up stuff, forget things, and just picture me as the villain in every fight.
Also, the triggers for my girlfriend's explosive anger were sometimes absurd and hard to believe could cause such a reaction. I also noticed how, whenever she’s stressed, she lashes out at me at the slightest trigger. Honestly, what made it hard was the fact that I couldn’t reach out to her about any of these issues when she was calm. As you can imagine, reaching out to her was also a trigger.
Last week, my girlfriend was diagnosed with BPD, and to my surprise, her first instinct was to blame me for it, saying I triggered it in the fights, even though the fights started long before I engaged in them. Honestly, I felt relieved with the diagnosis; it's like all of a sudden our entire relationship made sense. But her reaction really made me question if there is any hope left.
The blaming continued this week as things got heated between us, prompting me to visit my therapist. My therapist suggested that the stress from the fights might lead me back to suicidal thoughts (I struggled with those in the past, but I made a big recovery and got my life into a really good place before dating). My therapist also mentioned that I shouldn’t surrender to my girlfriend's anger as that will only amplify the triggers in the future.
So today, after all the fights, I decided I’m past my limits. I suggested two options to my girlfriend: either we break up, or we delay the marriage (we were getting married in a month) and stay in the relationship living apart while slowly working on her healing process.
My girlfriend suggested that we get married and then live apart while she heals. But as I learned from my research and from my therapist's advice, marrying may lead to even more issues since we'll be living apart. Also, living together is almost impossible due to the intensity of her anger. I decided that marriage should be off, and she decided that we should break up.
During the breakup argument, she stated that she hates me and hates everything that happened in the relationship. She hates the fact that it started. I know this is an episode, but I can't help but take it to heart. I wish I was more patient; I wish I could just close an eye to the explosive anger. I wish I could change it. It hurts knowing she will be alone. I swear I did everything I could. I lost my buddy, the love of my life. I believe it was neither my fault nor hers. Part of me believes what she said is right, that I’m responsible for causing her BPD or at least triggering it to reach this stage. My therapist told me that this is not true and that BPD gets more intense the closer a person with BPD is to their partner. She also told me that I shouldn’t surrender when she blames me, as that will just make her BPD even worse in the future.

So my ex and I were married and due to some conflict, we decided divorce in December of 22 . We have a son together so we keep communication quite often. Things were OK until I decided I wanted to break it off. I just couldn’t handle what she put me through so I try to push her to a friend zone, however, we were still talking almost every day sending each other pictures while she raised our son maybe like a week or two after, I realize it wasn’t what I wanted anymore and manipulated myself into wanting to try again.
Fast-forward my ex has put herself in the situation that I reached out to her mom and her mom told me that around that time when I said let’s be friends all relationship with another guy and it was off and on around last year May but she doesn’t know how long the relationship was . After reading that I’ve been hurt and I don’t know if I justify it by saying I’m the one that called it off. My biggest issue was that we were still talking as if everything was still OK and that apparently she brought him to her motherd home and hadd that man sleeping in my son‘s bed. Since finding all this out I’m not sure how I should process the emotion. I really want to bring it up and ask how long was the relationship? Also, when I wanted to work things out, I was looking into flights for the summer for them to come visit but she never told me what days works for her for weeks.
I think figured I know who it is. I flew her down here a few weeks ago and I noticed on her phone and had an emoji ❤️‍🩹. I questioned her about it and she said it was just someone who saved her life a few weeks ago and I asked her how has she not felt horny since we haven’t seen each other in six month(I flew them out in Christmas ) and she said sex doesn’t mean everything to me anymore, assuming that she was just abstinent for so long.
She has (and is) put me through so much emotional trauma that I feel bonded.
