Just read Alex Kasprak's declaration article that the passage so many fringe Republicans believes is in Ashley Biden's stolen diary saying her father, President Biden, showered with her is true. But I'm not convinced.
He supports his contention by quoting a letter Ashley Biden wrote to the judge who presided over the case in which Aimee Harris was tried for transport of stolen property. In it Ashley Biden says
"Although this criminal act happened more than three years ago, because of the publicity it drew—exactly as Ms. Harris intended—I am constantly re-traumatized by it. I will forever have to deal with the fact that my personal journal can be viewed online.
Repeatedly, I hear others grossly misinterpret my once-private writings and lob false accusations that defame my character and those of the people I love."
To my mind this certainly persuades me the diary Aimee Harris stole was indeed authentic, that it was indeed written by Ashley Biden. But it does not confirm that the passage so many are saying was in the diary about the eventual President Biden showering with her was actually in that diary. Kasprak's claim of truth about that passage is simply not warranted by Biden's statement.
Kasprak does not show us any images of the actual diary with that particular passage in it. He does not say he's seen that passage either. His only link, from the word page in his fourth paragraph is to a wayback machine page showing the twitter of Camryn Kinsey showing the image of a handwritten page.
Has Kasprak matched this page to a copy of the diary? Has he matched it to an image of the diary? He does not say. Moreover, a quick look at Kinsey's twitter shows her to be quite a partisan Republican herself. Not a trustworthy source on her own for a claim this extraordinary.
I think Snopes should be challenged to show the actual evidence the particular passage in question is actually in Ashley Biden's diary. As it is, Snopes claim to the truth value of the allegation against President Biden is very weak.

My boyfriend and I are both 30. We met last year, Aug30 and dated for months and became official on January 1st. A little background lang, I live alone in a condo and he visits me daily when we were just dating pa until we became official. So, last year when we were just dating pa(not official) I clearly remember this day when he visited me at my place, it was the coronation day of Miss Universe yung nanalo si Ms. Nicaragua. So I borrowed his ipad kasi I can put it at the table kasi may stand instead of phone na hinahawakan lang tapos that time I was watching live sa Fb, so i sent the link from my phone to his messenger so I can just watch it directly sa ipad. While I was watching sa ipad nya hindi kasi naka full screen. Na noticed ko lang sa right side parang may suggested na mga profile like except from his mom and dad’s profile meron then 1 person dun always suggested which is si (ex) pala kasi like sa right side ng screen parang like recommended talaga yung profile like( “ex commented to, ex like..”) yung mga ganyan. That was the day I found out na ex nya pala yun. Kasi pansin ko din si fb kung sino ang profile na vinisit mo palagi mag aapear talaga sya mostly sa profile mo like “yung shortcut”.. Out of curiosity, i visited her profile and saw that she’s already in a relationship, and I knew the guy from a previous company. So, mas na curious pa ako then when you try to search kasi sa fb makikita mo history sa “recent searches, visits” at that time nakita ko na my bf still visits his ex’s profile once i a while maybe 3-5x since the day we started seeing. I just told him after ng Ms. U, na “I think I know na sino ex mo, is it (name) noh? I did not confront him or anything just waited for him to say something pero wala. Then a few days after I went to check the photos again, the other account was logged out na. I asked him, bakit na logout yung ibang account and he said wala daw sya ginalaw at wala nman daw ibang acct, i told him anong wala nakita ko pa nga photos nyo ng ex mo sa acct na yun sabi nya hindi naman nya ni logout. So ayun, i just dismissed it.

He calmed and took his phone put of my hand and deleted the photos. When he did, sinabi ko oh bakit mo dinelete nayiha kapa, kanini proud na proud kapa. He just stood and left. I went to msg him and showed him a screen recording of deleting all our photos and said this how easy to delete photos, it’s less than 1 minute and he should delete our photos too. I also told him that we need to talk in the morning . I have so many questions. He said he’ got diarrhea so we video call, and it turned to argument again, he said shouted at me and cursed me a lot like big time! I never had a partner who cursed me before so i felt attacked and very disrespected like i never expected that it would come from a partner, haven’t heard from him not even sorry. So yesteday, I messaged him saying “Was it worth it? Worth it ba yung pag shout and pag cursed mo sakin over your past? Not even sorry or proper explanation. Ito pala gusto mo style disrespectful and bastos. Then I’ll give it back to you” right after sending the message I blocked him.
Did I overeact or valid yung ginawa ko? Sa true lang gusto ko gumanti ng insults and hurtful words, pero na realized ko na sayang sa oras but if he ever come to my place, feel ko, makapagbibitaw din talaga ako ng insults

Before we begin, do note that I am restricting myself in only using native Tagalog words.
This is so that I can comfortably use the Tagalog circumfix "ka-____-an" which turns a root word into an abstract noun; showcasing the "concept" part of the Paths.
In some translations. I will try and explain the reasoning behind my choices except for the ones that are straightforward at the end.
I'm just basically doing this because I thought it would be interesting to use the circumfix ka-___-an to have some unity to the naming conventions.
Here it is:
The Abundance –> Kasanàan
The Elation –> Katuwâan
The Harmony –> Kamayawán
The Order –> Kasunúran
The Remembrance –> Kagunitaán
The Equilibrium –> Kapantayan
The Nihility –> Kawalâan
The Beauty –> Kagandahan
The Hunt –> Katugisán
The Permanence –> Kalagián
The Enigmata –> Kabugtungan
The Destruction –> Kawasakán
The Finality –> Kawakasan
The Erudition –> Katalisikan
The Enigmata –> Kabugtungan
The Voracity –> Kasibaán
The Preservation –> Kasatilihán
The Propagation –> Kalaganapán o Kayabungán
The Trailblaze –> Kaagtasan o Kabagtasan

This word means Abundance with the association of hell. I used this word because of this Reddit comment that made it perfect as the translation.
It also has a similar pronunciation of the word for just abundance (kasaganahan) with both having similar syllables except for "ga" and having the stress at the penultimate syllable.
The Elation –> Katuwâan
This one might be self-explanatory as the root word just translate to "joy" but I picked this out of the other synonyms for "happy" in Tagalog because its proto-austronesian meaning is "luck". So, yes. I picked that one because of that one Aventurine conversation.
The Harmony –> Kamayawán
I struggled with this one because I kept trying to look for a word that has the "musical" and "oneness" connotation of the original word.
I kept trying to look for a word that's commonly used but then gave up and just ask my mom if she has an idea and that's where the word "mayaw" came from.
She said it means getting along with others. So I check an online Tagalog dictionary and it states:
má·yaw adjective (old tagalog)
1.voices are one or have harmony It also gained a new meaning in the Maugnayin Science Dictionary Filipino-English as the word for "cosmos".
The Order –> Kasunúran
This one I'm entirely not confident on; as it's hard to find a word that's narrow in meaning, but still similar, to the word I picked for Harmony.
I'm unsuccessful so I just picked the word for " to follow (sunód)" because if you used that with the "ka-___-an" circumfix it has the connotation of a list of "orders" to follow.
The Remembrance –> Kagunitaán
This one I picked instead of the more common word for "memory (ala-ala)" because it has a broader meaning and much shorter than ala-ala.
The Equilibrium –> Kapantayan
The root word just mean equal or fair (pantáy).
The Nihility –> Kawalâan
I didn't used the shortened "Kawalán", even though they have the same root word for "nothing (walâ)", because more people associate that with the void or space. Also it makes it sound more like an abstract word than Kawalán.
The Beauty –> Kagandahan
The root word just means beauty (gandá).
The Hunt –> Katugisán
The root word just means hunt (tugis).
The Permanence –> Kalagián
The root word means "always (lagì)". I'm iffy about this one as it doesn't have the same weight for me as Permanence. I could also use the word for before (dati) since according to dictionaries its synonym with permanent, I think? But honestly I prefer Kalagián more than the other one.
The Destruction –> Kawasakán
I picked this word because I want it to be similar to the word that I picked for Finality. Since it was, I think, mentioned in the game that The Destruction will get absorbed to The Finality because the latter is more broader in concept.
The Finality –> Kawakasan
Same explanation as The Destruction. Are the two words even cognate/doublet with each other?
The Erudition –> Katalisikan
I used this word instead of the word for knowledge (dunong) or intellect (talino) because the word "talisik" means " a knowledge that's obtained from rigorous study and also the closest to the word "erudite (matalisik)". Which best describes the followers of Nous.
The Enigmata –> Kabugtungan
I have to actually look up the etymology of the word Enigmata to find a suitable translation for it. It means "to speak in riddles" which pairs up nicely to the Tagalog word for "riddle (bugtóng)".
The Voracity –> Kasibaán
For this one I just search about the Tagalog version of the seven deadly sins and picked the word for gluttony.
The Preservation –> Kasatilihán
I got the word (satili) from the word for preserve (panatili). I think the root word " tili " is not used in Tagalog anymore that's why it always has an affix when used in a sentence. Even if the word " tili " means a "state of permanency" the way it's derived terms used it to mean preserve is still possible since it is a verb:
Wiktionary States that: the prefix sa- is used to denote a method or means to a purpose, sa- + puso (“heart”) → sapuso (“act of having put to heart”)
The Propagation –> Kalaganapán o Kayabungán
The word "laganap" means spreaded-out.
Since the word Propagation is linked to agriculture, another great translation is the word for "thriving; abundant growth; foliage; plentiful foliage (yabong)"
The Trailblaze –> Kaagtasan o Kabagtasan
This is the one I struggled the most as I keep thinking of a word that would fit the context of the game.
Since I can't just take the word "trail + blaze" and word-for-word translate it as that would be clunky. I opted for the other original name in Chinese in the Aeon wiki page.
When I search for the individual meaning of the Chinese characters "开拓" I got was "to open or break". Which tells me nothing.
I, then, thought of looking for other English words that are close to the meaning of Trailblaze. That's where I got the word "Pathfinding" and then google the Tagalog word for it which is "aktas" meaning "to open or to make a new path". Which is perfect and I just chose the other pronunciation of it "agtas" because it's close to the word "bagtas (to traverse)".

I'm sure there are a bunch of things I'm doing in MS Word that are repetitive and time-consuming, but which could be solved with a simple keybound macro. For example, it just occurred to me, after years of knowing how to create macros, that I should create a simple macro for adjusting the ruler to the left with it tabbed over once. Very simple to do but it's going to eliminate a good bit of friction from my workflow on many documents.
What's puzzling and frustrating is that this is not the first macro I've created to save myself from slowly and clumsily adjusting the ruler (Lord help you if you're trying to use a trackpad). It's just the first macro I've made for this particular adjustment. A smart AI looking over my shoulder would have spotted me doing this within minutes of me ever doing it more than a few times within X timeframe and then popped up with a helpful suggestion.
I'd take Clippy back if he would do this for me.

I had the most fulfilling conversation with my friend about my health. I had met my friend M last year and he has practically saved my life. I have completely opened up to him about my declining health, my autism, and my home life which isn't good in the slightest. He is so understanding and caring and he has truly helped me a lot. Recently I have begun to become closer with M's girlfriend K. At my school the upper classmen "adopt" and take in the under classmen and M and K have done that to me and sometimes I literally call them mom and dad. Last night I was having a panic attack and I had called K when M wasn't answering his phone. Because of the panic attack my heart was racing and my breathing had become abnormal causing me to pass out while I was on the phone with her and had ended up having one of my worser episodes. I had felt really bad because she was worried about me and didn't know what to do.
Later I had texted her about how I wasn't expecting to pass out and it be on the worse side and why the panic attack had started and completely opened up to her about a lot of things. About how I had originally called her because I have a really had time self regulating in those moments and require the help of others. How I have POTS and was explaining everything that happened when I passed out. Like how when I started becoming consious I could hear her saying my name once or twice but couldn't physically respond because of how weak and out of it I was, and that afterward it took me a while to come out of because I was extremely dizzy, my entire body was shaking, and I could barely talk because of brain fog and I was stuttering and stumbling over my words. I then opened up to her about how no matter how many times I have an episode it's still very scary because I can't predict how bad the episode will be, which symptoms I will have or if new ones will appear. I had told her about the time when last year during my schools musical where I had passed out and for the first time my hands had locked up and we didn't know what was happening or what to do and then how this year during the musical as well when I had passed out my entire body started shaking a lot and we were very confused and didn't know what to do and how ever since then each of those symptoms that normally never happened happen almost everytime. Storytime (Why retake the GRE?)
I took the GRE in October 2020 at home, the old one for MS admissions, but did not end up using it for any applications. My old score for the old GRE was 323 (162V, 89th percentile; 161Q, 65th percentile) and writing was 6. I ended up getting into a decent program in applied mathematics, and needed to retake it for competitive PhD programs in biostatistics/statistics and bioinformatics for the Fall 2025 cycle. I was aiming for perfect quant and somewhat improved verbal. I am working full time doing research and writing papers and programming lots and lots, it was really challenging to prepare, but I had lots of preparation time on my side---roughly two months.Mock Scores (Markov property)
I double majored in pure mathematics and statistics from a top public school in SoCal, but I get incredibly anxious when taking these sorts of time constrained tests, so my quant was generally not perfect at all and all over the place:- Two days ago I took my first mock in the morning timed and got 159V, 160Q (powerprep 2, free)
- The same day, later in the evening, I took another mock and got 159V, 168Q (powerprep+ 2, $40)
- The next day, I took another mock in the evening and got 161V, 164Q (powerprep+ 3, $40).
Game day (and the day before)
I didn't get very good sleep (only slept 5hrs because I ate really late and was super worried). I made a nootropic shake concoction and had some other supplements 30-40 minutes before I started the actual exam, which helped with my sleep deficit (vegan protein, matcha powder, creatine, l-theanine shake; vitamin B complex, CoQ-10, vitamin D extra strength; and a banana). I think diet the night before is actually super important and I did heavy carb and creatine loading: finished four servings of gnocchi; 1.1lbs ribeye steak; one avocado and one salmon filet. And up until the test day, I made sure to be physically active and stuck to my workout schedule to make sure that I have the best possible VO2 max on test day. This included doing zone 2-4 cardio weekly for at least 90 minutes per week. I see lots of people give up their workout schedule, but I think that's actually detrimental.Beyond hacking my physiology, I took my test at a test center. I think that was a big deal because the test center was super quiet and there were no distractions at all. Driving there took me 40 minutes, so I was also able to settle down emotionally and just meditate about doing well while getting there. I listened to music as well which got me in a good mood.
I had completely forgotten that we get an unofficial score as soon we finish, so I was incredibly SHOCKED at how I did. I think if I had known I get the score immediately (unofficial) I would've done worse.
Other notes (resources I liked)
GREGMAT GUY... Danke Schoen. I used mostly gregmat strategies for all my preparation.- I used prepswift and made a cheat sheet from prepswift concepts for verbal, quant and writing. Making the cheat sheet was really helpful.
- In particular, I focused on a lot of the strategy guides for the verbal and quant prepswift sections.
- I did Manhattan 5lbs first, ALL problems EXCEPT the word problem ones since those ones were too wordy for no reason compared to actual ETS problems.
- I did no foundations for quant until after I sampled my baseline performance on the Manhattan 5lb problems. Then I revised with prepswift and the official ETS material.
- The official ETS quant and general GRE books are really good for practice as well. These are the real indicator of test performance since the Manhattan book problems are actually a lot more challenging.
- I had very little verbal practice. I read and write everyday, so I just wanted to hit high 80s percentile for verbal. I did practice the vocab though (gregmat vocab mountain AND Magoosh GRE vocab).
- For people with high anxiety: for the quant, just remember to recognize patterns, read the problem, stick to your foundations, plug and chug, and breathe. Everytime I started the quant section, I used the remaining time from the verbal to write that preceding sequence out so that I was using metacognition and prevent myself from panicking.

Ofc, the immense raw speed of Gaolang's Flash jab means that combined with this advantage, he can strike before Carlos can physically move out of the way in one fell swoop.Relevant Psychology
Basically, there's two key psychological factors at play here, attentional blink and the psychological refractory period,Attentional blink is a a split-second form of attentional blindness to the second of two distinct stimuli (e.g., a feint or fake attack, followed by the attacker's real strike) that happen with a few to several tenths of a second apart in time from each other. This can result in your brain not properly seeing the real- attack following a feint. This is something I added after the latest chapter further clarifying how Gaolang beats Pre-I.

Then, as already previously mentioned, the psychological refractory period refers to when the stimuli are similiarly separated in a short interval time (especially when separated in time by 60 ms-100 ms), but even though the person sees both stimuli, the programming of the motor response to the second stimulus is delayed by the now misleading response programming attempt to the first stimulus ( the feint) needing to be processed and then canceled first before moving on to the second stimulus.
Additionally, the surprise factor of an unexpected stimulius also will in general always further slow your mental processing and the initiation of your response down too.
So Gaolang is fast enough with his Flash Jabs in general to have greater POTENTIAL of exploiting these small gaps in a person's awareness and reaction time relative to most of the rest of the cast.
But against exceptionally fast characters such as Carlos, it's necessary for him to also get a read on Carlos's timing and movement patterns to figure out where Carlos's head and body will be in the next split-second. And by combining that with using feints and baits ( stance switches, throwaway punches, hand feints etc) he is able to slow down Carlos's mind enough that, when combined with his raw speed, Gaolang can take advantage of these openings.
And this is also not even getting into the physical aspects of a feint which can also make you prematurely move in the wrong direction and make you off-balanced , with your momentum from moving away from the fake or throwaway attack and having to reset your balance making it harder for you to physically accelerate in time away from the following 'real' attack.

In other words, Lolong's slower striking speed means he has to read Ohma's inception of intent to dodge Lolong's first strike, and Lolong notices this before he even throws his own first strike, allowing him to quickly throw a follow- up blow in advance to where he knows Ohma will move to. Ohma's Pre-I isn't as deep, so he can't read the ulterior inception of intent of Lolong's planned follow up strike in advance, he only sees the intent for the first strike Lolong throws as he throws it, and otherwise, while he is dodging Lolong's first strike, the gap in his focus means he doesn't see the inception of intent of second strike coming until it's too late, he missed that window the strike is already mid-flight.

We are in the same course and on the same level, Masters Electrical Engineering.
She asks me questions about basic math, no kidding, like, if k2=9, then what will be k? Are you kidding me?
Has no idea how to format anything and when she submitted our file (late at night when I was going to bed, because she did her work last minute), she even messed up the formatting that I did on the report. All her pictures are just extended horizontally across the page, like can’t even adjust the aspect ratio in word.
Next day in the report review I get to know that she has drawn an unlabelled circuit in MS PAINT, like tff, MS Paint? The lines are squiggly, the resolution is low, nothing is clear, it looked like a doodle on lab report file that is supposed to be graded. Halfway through the document, changed the font entirely. When I asked her about it, her response is, “Oh I didn’t see what font you were using” Didn’t see? Isn’t that what you are supposed to take care of when you format something. Her work is completely in another font.
During the experiments she never has an idea about what is going on.
When I raise a genuine issue with the instructor about almost anything, she jumps in to say to the instructor “Never mind, we can manage” completely trying to bypass my point and then when we actually have to “manage” she suddenly has errands and private commitments?
The worst part is even after a shitty review ( which highlighted most of her mistakes) she comes out saying “that went better than expected. I am happy my calculations were kind of right.” You are a f*king engineer ffs, you have a bachelors degree, and you are happy cuz your calculations were kind of right? That’s beyond me.
There is no sincerity or ambition or even interest tbh, and today she said “I just wanna pass”. The work we present is going to effect both our grades, and I am not putting 16 hrs of effort to just pass.
I am emailing my supervisor ratting her out because this is just ridiculous.

I've this classmate who I'm friends with. We're not extremely close, but we're in the same group of friends. Let's call her S. S is a really selfless person who can be kinda shy sometimes. She's extremely sensitive and when she's stressed or overwhelmed she can snap.
I met this girl last year, along with other girl I'll call M. M is a really carefree girl. She can be oblivious and honestly just a really chill person. M doesn't take things too personal, unlike S, who can think you're mad at her just by talking with someone else.
So I met this two girls and it was pretty clear that S was way too attached to M. They've known each other as much as I've known them, but still, S is always so affected by whatever M does.
As I said, M is a pretty chil person so she doesn't even notice this behavior from S. Some stuff S does are:
-Asking M to keep secrets, but then make painfully obvious to the rest of the group that there's a secret.
-Turn conversation of 4-5 people into a private coversation of her and M.
-Talk to me and the others when she thinks M is mad a her (Just because M is talking someone else)
-One of the last things she did was pass a paper between her and M with me literally in the middle.
I never really cared about this as I have other friends, but it was still a problem we all knew. The worst part? This attachment is totally one sided as M was completely oblivous and she even considers S just a classmate.
This new year rolls in and my best friend left our school. I was really thinking about this thing S has of excluding others, but I decided that I just needed to speak with new people. So there's this new guy "L" who happens to like the same author as me. We dont talk much, just exchange words, messages and just one proper conversation of around 20 minutes.
I first texted him, but a few days later we spoke during break time. Our conversation ended when I felt someone PULLING FROM MY HAIR for me to get up (I hate being pulled by my hair) and it's S, who then asked me what I was talking about with L. I explained and didn't think much of it.
But since then she started with this passive-aggressive comments like "Don't go with that guy or I'll get jealous", but always in a joking manner.
Then during a music class, we're all around the piano. Suddenly, S started to pull from my shirt with nervous laughter asking me to "take her out of there" M and I laughed and help her get out, but without understanding much. We got worried when S started crying.
After a long back and forth where she wouldn't tell us what's going on, she finally said that she and L exchanged glances, he politely smiled at her and she smiled back in a weird way.

I met this girl last year, along with other girl I'll call M. M is a really carefree girl. She can be oblivious and honestly just a really chill person. M doesn't take things too personal, unlike S, who can think you're mad at her just by talking with someone else.
So I met this two girls and it was pretty clear that S was way too attached to M. They've known each other as much as I've known them, but still, S is always so affected by whatever M does.
As I said, M is a pretty chil person so she doesn't even notice this behavior from S. Some stuff S does are:
-Asking M to keep secrets, but then make painfully obvious to the rest of the group that there's a secret.
-Turn conversation of 4-5 people into a private coversation of her and M.
-Talk to me and the others when she thinks M is mad a her (Just because M is talking someone else)
-One of the last things she did was pass a paper between her and M with me literally in the middle.
I never really cared about this as I have other friends, but it was still a problem we all knew. The worst part? This attachment is totally one sided as M was completely oblivous and she even considers S just a classmate.
This new year rolls in and my best friend left our school. I was really thinking about this thing S has of excluding others, but I decided that I just needed to speak with new people. So there's this new guy "L" who happens to like the same author as me. We dont talk much, just exchange words, messages and just one proper conversation of around 20 minutes.
I first texted him, but a few days later we spoke during break time. Our conversation ended when I felt someone PULLING FROM MY HAIR for me to get up (I hate being pulled by my hair) and it's S, who then asked me what I was talking about with L. I explained and didn't think much of it.
But since then she started with this passive-aggressive comments like "Don't go with that guy or I'll get jealous", but always in a joking manner.
Then during a music class, we're all around the piano. Suddenly, S started to pull from my shirt with nervous laughter asking me to "take her out of there" M and I laughed and help her get out, but without understanding much. We got worried when S started crying.
After a long back and forth where she wouldn't tell us what's going on, she finally said that she and L exchanged glances, he politely smiled at her and she smiled back in a weird way.
Yeah, that's it. She got nervous and was embarrased because of her weird smile.
When asked why she smiled like that she said "Because I didn't want to be cute, I wanted to be like OP".

It's a lovely route because it is traffic-free and reasonably flat, which is essential if I'm to keep my whinge quotient down (my daughters are much hardier than I am). Halfway along the route, we saw a sign for the Cuckoo Cafe, promising snacks galore, which, as you know, is right up my street and would make the ride worthwhile as I could do some research for this very community update. Upon entering the establishment, my youngest immediately clocked the 'Jammie Dodger Blondie'. For the uninitiated, a Jammie Dodger is essentially two discs of buttery shortbread embracing a gooey center of raspberry "jam" (or, let's be honest, a jam-like chemical concoction that glues the biscuits together). Originating in Wales in the swinging '60s, these biscuits were the brainchild of Burton Biscuits, and though there have been a few spin-offs like the Choccie and Toffee Dodgers, they have yet to quite capture the original's magic. They were named after the Beano comic book character "Roger the Dodger," who was renowned for his ability to dodge responsibility, particularly concerning his homework (I am also not a fan of the 'h' word). So here we are, in picturesque England, about to sample a snack that uses jammie dodgers as the main ingredient. "What could possibly go wrong?" Therefore, adding anything other than more jammie dodgers to a jammie dodger was bound to upset this balance. We only had ourselves to blame. My eldest went with the delectable fruit scone — there is no photo of that because every crumb was consumed. The moral of this story is don't mess with a British classic, and you can't go wrong with a scone, so long as you follow the rules (rhymes with 'stone', cream before jam, served with afternoon tea). She has two children to look after, and they need her, just like she needs them. The room is dimly lit with a harsh fluorescent light flickering above, casting long ominous shadows across the walls.
A sturdy metal table is bolted to the floor, with three chairs placed around it, Fiona sitting in one. Two men walk in, causing the atmosphere in the room to become tense.
"Mrs. Fiona Santos?" one of the detectives questioned, looking inside the folder he is holding.
Straightening her dress, Fiona sat upright in her chair, looking forward and holding herself in a sophisticated manner. "Ms. Santos," she corrected, "My husband passed away eight years ago."
"Our apologies," Detective Pierce nodded to his colleague as they both took a seat across from her. As they sat, Detective Pierce folded his hands in front of himself atop the table and rolled his shoulders.
"Can you tell us again what happened to your children?" he asked, forcing a smile.
"Like I told the police and your associate here...my children and I were on our way to the park when 'it' appeared out of nowhere," Fiona paused and exhaled slowly. 'IT TOOK.THEM.FROM.ME!' she enunciated each word by smacking her palm down onto the table.
Fiona fixed her frizzy hair so it was out of her eyes, then wiped her sweaty palms on her dress.
"We understand your frustration. Can you recall again what 'they' looked like?" Detective Pierce asked.
How could she forget what THEY looked like? Closing her eyes, Fiona could still see them even now. Six feet tall, their limbs unnaturally long. Fingers black with pointed tips. A faded torn green dress adorned their lanky frame.
"Any facial features you remember?" the detective next to Pierce asked, tapping his pen onto the notepad he was writing in.
"It was always changing as if it was contorting together," Fiona replied, furrowing her brow.
Detective Pierce knew exactly what they were dealing with and stood up from his seat. "That will be all, Ms. Santos."
His associate looked at him bewildered as she left the room.
"Are you sure about this, Pierce? What if Ms. Santos had something to do with her children's disappearances?"
"Morrison, have you ever heard of the entity called 'The Mother'?"
An entity called Mother... The mother takes children away, and they never come back. Her first appearance was in the 1800s when all of the children from a local orphanage went missing. Since then, the same description from eyewitnesses has been told by adults.
"So what happens to the children?" Morrison paled, dreading to even ask at this point.
"Her den isn't too far from here. There I am sure we will find what remains of them," replied Pierce, exiting out of the room with associate close behind him.
In the middle of the forest, a six-foot-tall figure was digging into the earthen soil where white and yellow bones mixed in with it. Mother added more to the pile, proudly gleaming at their children.

More than 1,000 internal text messages between the DUP's most senior figures have been published by the Covid Inquiry, providing an unprecedented insight into what the party really thought and how it operated during the pandemic. The WhatsApp messages, some of which are acutely embarrassing for senior party figures, are being made public after they were given to the inquiry by former DUP minister Edwin Poots, now the Assembly Speaker, and have been published tonight.
That is in stark contrast to Sinn Féin, whose Stormont leader Michelle O'Neill admitted to the inquiry yesterday that she deliberately deleted everything from all her devices despite being warned by the Head of the Civil Service not to do so and despite being given written legal advice which specifically said text messages and WhatsApps should not be deleted.
So far, the inquiry hasn't published a single internal Sinn Féin message.
The DUP messages are from a WhatsApp group containing its Executive ministers, special advisers, and other senior party figures.

In apparent reference to Sinn Féin calling Michelle O'Neill 'joint head of government', someone said "this must be a new title bestowed on Michelle"; another person said: "they are at this all the time".
Another person whose name is hidden said: Certainly they cannot have that on official communications".
Mr Weir, whose messages are often laden with humour, said: "Perhaps I should start calling myself George Clooney, it's just as accurate".
The Education Minister said on 13 March: "I see on PA, Archbishop Eamon Martin is writing to me urging me to close all the schools. Wasn't aware of his qualifications in virology."
Someone whose name has been blacked out said: "Write back and tell him we don't live in the South and that his institution hasn't the best track record of looking out for the welfare of kids."
The following day, in an apparent reference to Sinn Féin, someone denounced "panicking people" and "totally irresponsible" behaviour.
On 14 March, in a reference to civil servants, someone said that "some of the officials don't inspire me".
The next day, Mr Weir said that solicitor Kevin Winters had launched a judicial review of the decision not to close schools. An unidentified person responded: "Read SF for KW". Mr Weir replied: "Indeed."
The messages show that DUP ministers genuinely believed they would be hurting people - and even endangering lives - by taking radical measures to shut down society.
But in their evidence to the inquiry several DUP ministers, including Arlene Foster and Edwin Poots, now accept that they should have locked down sooner.
On 14 March, Mr Weir said that "above all other considerations will be our protection of human life, which the best opportunity to do so is following the professional advice. If in the long run we can spare one extra family from the tragic loss of a loved one then we will have done the right thing rather than the politics of panic of others."
In another message, he said: "There is crazy stuff going about which if acted upon would simply cost lives."
On 15 March, Emma Little Pengelly lamented how teachers seemed to think they wouldn't be going to work once schools closed.
Mr Weir replied: "We could do with a few unnamed ministers not coming to work."
Two days later, Mr Poots said he was "under pressure with CAFRE", the agricultural college. Referring to Sinn Féin, he said: "The public are looking to us for leadership and we can't afford to be scrapping with them. That doesn't mean giving them want they want but need agreement."
Ms Little Pengelly's influence as Mrs Foster's key spad is evident. On 17 March, she set out how lockdown was likely days away and they needed to propose multiple measures including a single website for all pandemic information and "a stateswomanlike address to NI by FM and DFM".
She said: "We also need to be aware that in behaviour science terms we are now dealing with emergency, war time like circumstance - ergo people want to see what is termed in political science as 'strong man' political leaders - (now strong women..) - this is very well established. Strong and serious, calm and professional."
She urged ministers to be "empathetic and understanding" to the pressures faced by those struggling financially, reminding them that "those on working tax credit get free school meals (FSM}, many on that benefit DO work but may find themselves on reduced hours or redundant...and many of those on FSMs are our voters (I am saying this as a child who was a FSM child for many years)."
There is a gap of about a month in the messages. On 22 April, Mr Weir said: "Hargey has [another few words have been blacked out by the inquiry as 'irrelevant and sensitive']! She's had a tough paper round clearly."

More than 1,000 internal text messages between the DUP's most senior figures have been published by the Covid Inquiry, providing an unprecedented insight into what the party really thought and how it operated during the pandemic. The WhatsApp messages, some of which are acutely embarrassing for senior party figures, are being made public after they were given to the inquiry by former DUP minister Edwin Poots, now the Assembly Speaker, and have been published tonight.
That is in stark contrast to Sinn Féin, whose Stormont leader Michelle O'Neill admitted to the inquiry yesterday that she deliberately deleted everything from all her devices despite being warned by the Head of the Civil Service not to do so and despite being given written legal advice which specifically said text messages and WhatsApps should not be deleted.
So far, the inquiry hasn't published a single internal Sinn Féin message.
The DUP messages are from a WhatsApp group containing its Executive ministers, special advisers, and other senior party figures.
They show the party lampooning the Catholic Church, a message from Emma Little Pengelly that the public were looking for a "strong man", but also Mrs Little Pengelly's personal concern for some of the most deprived members of society, reminding colleagues that she came from a poor background.

This kid in front of me has a laptop for exams and previously he was messing around in MS Paint. But today, he was playing games on a websites and didn't get caught! If he did get caught, then the whole room (We go to a different room, separate to the main exam room) could've been in jeopardy and risking our history grade! Also I kinda suspected that he googled the answers and copied and pasted them into word so yep! That whole room could've been double screwed by that idoit.
