ATM How-To: A Comprehensive Guide
ATM Machine
Automated Teller Machines, popularly known as ATMs, have redefined the banking experience by providing convenient, 24-hour access to numerous financial transactions. But if you're a first-timer, or perhaps you're not familiar with some of the functionality, navigating the multitude of options available can get a tad confusing. This comprehensive letter aims to simplify the 'ATM how to use' process and shed some light on the intricacies of exploiting this veritable tool.

Introduction to ATM

ATMs are electronic banking outlets that allow customers to complete basic transactions involving a credit or debit card. Predominantly, ATMs are used for withdrawing cash, but they can also allow for deposits, account balance inquiries, and more sophisticated transactions, depending on the machine's design.

Identifying the Types of ATMs

When asking yourself how to use an ATM, it's essential to first recognize the two types available. They are Bank ATMs and Non-Bank ATMs. The bank ATMs are directly related to your bank, allowing you to carry out various transactions at no cost. The Non-Bank ATMs, as the name suggests, do not have a specific bank affiliation, and may charge a fee for their usage.

Basic steps on 'ATM how to use.'

  1. Insert your card: ATMs either pull your card into the machine and return it at the end of the transaction, or they have a dip slot where you insert and remove your card.
  2. Choose the language: If this option is available, select the language most comprehensible to you.
  3. Input your PIN: For security, ATMs require you to enter a Personal Identification Number (PIN). Ensure you safeguard this number to avoid unauthorized use of your account.
  4. Select a transaction: Most machines offer a variety of transactions. The most common ones are withdrawals, deposits, balance inquiries, or money transfers.
  5. Collect your receipt: After completing your transaction, the machine will prompt you to print a receipt. This receipt is a handy record of your transaction.
  6. End your session and take your card: Once you're done with your transactions, the machine will ask if you require further services. If not, end the session and remember to take your card.
While these steps are fundamental, they dispel the complexity of the 'ATM how to use' task and familiarize users with the general workings of an ATM, proving that they're indeed friendly machines.

How to Use the Special Features

Certain ATMs provide special features that can be beneficial to customers. It's crucial to familiarize yourself with these to get the most out of your machine.
  1. Depositing cash or checks: Some modern ATMs allow for cash or check deposits. You usually insert your deposit into a slot on the machine, and the funds are automatically added to your account.
  2. Mobile phone top-up: In some countries, ATMs provide mobile phone credit top-up services. This feature allows you to charge your prepaid mobile phone straight from your bank account.
  3. Other Services: Other special features include payment of utility bills, the making of charitable donations, purchase of tickets for travel or events, among others.

Security tips

It's vital to pay attention to security measures while using an ATM. Always shield your PIN when entering it, be mindful of your surroundings, and be wary of suspicious individuals near the ATM. Avoid machines that look tampered with as they may be configured to steal your information, commonly known as "skimming."

To wrap up

The comprehensive guidance above gives you a firm grip on the 'ATM how to use' process and ensures you can navigate through these versatile machines comfortably. Whether it's withdrawing cash, depositing checks, or carrying out a host of other transactions, ATMs bring banking to your fingertips round-the-clock.
Undoubtedly, the advent of the ATM has transformed the banking landscape enormously, providing efficiency and utmost convenience to consumers. Hence, having a good understanding of how to use these machines effectively and securely can help optimize your financial transactions, thereby making your life a lot easier.
Automated Teller Machines, popularly known as ATMs, have redefined the banking experience by providing convenient, 24-hour access to numerous financial transactions. 2024.05.16 07:36 DontTakeMeSeriousli Can I take advantage of a lease deal to exit my upside down financed vehicle?

Hey guys.
I purchased a Tuscon a year back and got stuck in a somewhat unfavorable deal. My credit score was not the best so got pinned with a bad interest rate. Anyway, fast forward and my credit score is excellent now. Paid off my debts and in a good place. Anywho. I tried to refinance my vehicle but the interest rates are still roughly the same. I am currently eyeballing an electric vehicle as I rarely drive and with current incentives it would lower my car payment by 1-200 dollars which is huge for me. Could I use current lease cash incentives to offset my upside down loan?
Here is the example Current vehicle payment is $700 flat Owed: 31000 roughly, Carvana/KBB appraisal is $24000 which I'm sure I can ask a dealer to match.
Proposed vehicle is a 2024 Lexus RZ 450e Lease cash offer: $17,000 With that, I'd in theory be able to wipe out my upside down loan and still get 8-9k off thr vehicle which would put my monthly payment with 0 down (1st month payment included obviously) to roughly $550-$600 depending how it sways.
Is my theory here correct? Would I essentially be able to wipe my hands clean of the Hyundai and walk away in a Lexus as a prize?
Please guide me and provide any warnings. I've never leased before and I honestly trade in cars every 3-5 years anyway so it seems like a good idea but are there any hidden costs? Is the insurance going to be Bananas? I did a mock quote and it actually lowered my insurance costs by $90 for whatever reason, but that was just a mock quote.
Thanks for the help, truly appreciate you all!

2024.05.16 07:17 TheDJParty RBC - Account Take Over - Hackers

This is a long story and if you do read through it and can offer advice it would be greatly appreciated.
I can't find too much if anything similar to my experience. I'm wondering if anyone heard about this and any advice?
About 6 months ago I got a call on my phone from RBC on the call display. It was spoofed but I didn't know it. The person on the phone asked me if I used my debit card to purchase an iphone in Ontario. I said no, and he said it's not a problem these things happen all the time, they will cancel the purchase and send me a new card.
This is not too out of the ordinary for me as I had my credit card have unauthorized purchases several times in the past. The weird thing was this time it was a debit card.
Then he said he can not ask my debit card number but a recording will follow and I should key in my debit card number. This was my major mistake. I know never to give a credit card number, PIN or password but for some reason I never thought of my debit card number to be a major issue. Like what if I lost it?
Anyway after I did that he came back and I asked him to mail the new one to my bank. He said no he would mail it to my home and told me my very old address. I told him no, it's unacceptable mail it to my bank branch like always. He then hung up on me. I didn't give any other info.
Minutes later I got an email from RBC saying my password has been changed! Then another saying my email has been changed. I quickly tried to login and couldn't so I called RBC Security.
As I was talking my email inbox got 1000's of email newsletter sign up confirmations per hour. About 12 000 in total by the next morning. It's a business email so it ruined everything and I couldn't find legit emails but that's besides the point.
The goal of doing that is because it was their hopes I would not see the emails from RBC.....but lucky they came first. it's called a Spam Bomb.
RBC Security said they would help me change my password back and I was able to reset it. Only minutes later while still on the phone....I had logged out and then tried to log back in....And he said this is strange. he put me on hold. He said there was someone on another call with the call centre claiming to be me and getting the password changed! He somehow was passing all the authentication and fooling the agent into changing the password.
So he put a block on the account meaning nobody can call in. Not even me. No passwords or access codes, nothing. The only way I could deal with RBC is going into the branch.
No money went missing. I guess I caught it just in time. Nothing was changed in my accounts. But I still cancelled all my credit cards and got new ones. And I got new account numbers for my bank accounts.
As I had to do this at the branch it took several visits and anytime I needed to ask a question Id have to go in person. I changed my phone number and even to do this in the back end systems beyond online banking I had to make an appointment. Fun fact RBC has to wait on hold forever also, no special access lines.
After changing my accounts I changed my phone number because they kept calling back. Changing your phone number nowadays is a major undertaking as I have 100's of websites many with 2 factor auth that I had to change. I also changed all my passwords unique without any matching.
After all this....I travelled to Japan. In fact I travel 6 months of the year to many countries. I decided to log into my online banking using a VPN. Big mistake. The system thought I was fraud and it locked me out. And I can't call! Luckily I have an account manager who knows me well and we could verify that way but most people don't have this.
Another time my debit cards weren't working anywhere in The Philippines and I couldn't call in. It was Christmas and my account manager wasn't available for 4 days. I had no cash. What a disaster.
So when I got home....I had to take this call block off. It's just not working. It had already been 2.5 months and my computer was factory reset, I purchased a new phone. I had really done everything I could.
I travelled to several countries and no problems, everything is working normal and perfect.
I take security very seriously to the point of paranoia. And I also know all the scams. I don't get fooled easily and used to have a hobby to mess with the scammers heads. But even this I don't do anymore because they probably put me on some sort of list or something.
Since then Ive been very private.
Then yesterday....I get an email saying my email has been changed. Lucky no spam bomb. I tried to log into RBC and it didn't say wrong password, it said account it locked.
I called RBC Security and they said I need to go into the branch with ID and they wouldn't talk to me.
I did so. They said someone called in and passed the verification. And convinced RBC to reset my password for them. This is infuriating because there are notes saying that I am a victim of account take over and to proceed with caution.
Again no money is missing but I need to change all my accounts and cards again. And I'm leaving to Africa in a few weeks.
I now have that call block on the system and can't release it otherwise the scammers will just call back and convince RBC to change my password again. What can I do about this?
I had the idea to change my debit card number. They will change the account numbers and credit card numbers but not the debit card number. Changing this number I think will solve all my problems. But no matter how far I escalated this. They won't do it. Not a chance. To me it seems the most logical way to start fresh as they are using that info to the agent.
So I opened a new account with another bank. I'll use this as a travel account and fund it with what I need. But with RBC I have many investment accounts, business accounts, several high end credit cards. You name it. And TD banks credit card for travel doesn't seem to match the power of RBC Avion which I accumulate tons of points with my business. Which is why I can travel so much! So in other words it's not easy to switch.
But anyway Does anyone know how they are passing the authentication so easy? Nobody knows my 3 secret phrases. Not even my wife. RBC usually have voice authentication, I guess that failed. Or they recorded me?
And also the hacker originally repeated my old address but I never gave a new one. When I do call RBC they usually ask my address and things about my account that I am likely only to know. It's so strange.
How can I get out of this mess?
Does anyone have any success having their physical debit card number changed? Any other advice?
I feel one day if this keeps happening I could be out money.
Would I be protected and refunded?
While I admit I did get fooled into giving my debit card number it wasn't my pin or password and they were the ones who tricked RBC over and over. And Ive taken all reasonable preacuations to secure my account since then.
However having this severely restricted account where I can't call in and since I travel 6 months per year as you can imagine I can't do this long term.
if you read this far thanks so much for reading, Any advice is appreciated!

2024.05.15 22:40 OriginalSprinkles718 [PS5/PS4] List of 100+ mods with correct LOAD ORDER - Difficult and satisfying survival challenge.

[PS5/PS4] List of 100+ mods with correct LOAD ORDER - Difficult and satisfying survival challenge.

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE POST.

This took weeks of picking and testing mods
Played on PS5, should work on PS4
Order is stable, no crashes
New game on survival difficulty required
All 6 DLCs needed
No unbalanced cheat mods added
Very difficult but satisfying and immersive
Adding other mods will break stuff, ask in comments
Not tested on PS4 or PS4 Pro performance-wise

OVERVIEW

This modlist is for people enjoying difficult challenge, exploration, combat, managing settlements and a bit of building. No more bullet sponges, loot/enemy respawns and rambo playstyle!
In the beginning you are no one. You leave the vault weak, tired, with barely any gear. Avoid most encounters and quests at the start. Try to survive, build a safe spot and carefully explore. Be aware of your surroundings, use what you find.
Saving often in beds and making 'autosave drug' at the earliest possibility is a good idea (nearest chemistry workbench is at Abernathy Farm). Save menu is always on top of MISC category in Pip-Boy.
Discovering new places gives plenty of exp in the beginning, but quests are your main exp income.
Exploring safer areas like Sanctuary, Concord and smaller settlements first (avoiding powerful enemies) recommended. There might be a lot of combat in the background. Don't engage much, especially avoid supermutants, robots, turrets, bears - they are deadly even for high level, well developed characters. Raiders also hit hard, depending on their weapon and rank.
Weapon caliber makes huge damage difference. 10mm is pretty weak, but if you find rare .50cal rounds or some good explosives, you should eliminate tougher targets much more easily.
Investing in stats right after level 15 is a good idea. STR for carry weight, PER for accuracy, END for health, CHA for better prices, INT for more exp, AGI for sneak and speed, LCK for dmg and loot. Be sure of your choices. Watch out for 'revealing all map markers' and 'slow time when aiming' perks. Be sure you want and like them, there is no going back.
Deathclaw in the early minuteman quest is tough - try to use explosives to break his legs and some high caliber weapons to finish him off by shooting his face. Or maybe you'll get lucky and raiders will kill him. Or just simply avoid him until you get proper gear.
Don't waste ammo on zombies, use melee. Bullets are valuable. However zombies can grab and instantly kill you if your HP is very low, so watch out on low, early levels!
Aim for the head for much higher damage. Concentrating damage on arms or legs to rip them off is a good strategy too. Raider without arms wont do much to you except running around and alerting nearby enemies, that is.
Damage types are important. Ballistic damage is not efficient against turrets, melee against radroaches and so on. You need to figure out yourself whats best strategy.
Develop and protect your settlements, put walls to protect generators and other important structures. Repairing is costly. Gear up settlers. Scraping and cleaning settlements is a good early source of components.
Try to fully explore the map, kill enemies and do all quests. Most loot and enemies wont ever respawn so this is your chance to find new secrets in Commonwealth and clear the place.

========== CHANGES ==========

Combat, Enemies

  • Enemies will flank, charge, take cover, run in fear, use and pick up ammo & weapons, swap to backup gun and so on.
  • Headshots or weakspot hits do much higher damage than torso shots.
  • Gun caliber greatly affects damage, explosives are powerful and damage type matters.
  • Foes have special moves like biting and holding leg, wrestling moves, kicks. Dependent on enemy type and briefly stuns you.

Sound, Graphic

  • Sounds are less flat because of added reverb and other tweaks.
  • Very dark nights with wide, helpful flashlight.
  • Atmospheric lightning: beautiful light from lantern and fire sources, dusk, dawn, moon, plus bullets illuminate environment when flying around.
  • No dreadful, annoying, unimmersive: combat music, hearthbeat, sounds of generators, turrets, exp gain sound, most perk triggers and perk chart.

Crafting, Modifying

  • Making/disasembling ammo and also creating various shipments. Upgrading clothes, rings, glasses in different ways.
  • Legendary swapping, crafting legendary effects using technical documents. Some effects have been adjusted.
  • Added crafting of new, lower damage explosives, but they have unique effects for ease of use.

Perks, SPECIAL

  • STR affects carry weight, PER accuracy, END is health, max AP, CHA for better prices, INT for more exp, AGI for sneak, walk and reload speed, LCK for small dmg boost, loot, critical hits outside VATS and while using it.
  • Leveling up does not give you health. You rely on stats, bonuses, gear.
  • Perks tree mostly changed, level 15 needed to start increasing Special base stats, level of around 100 to increase stat to 10. To get all perks you would need 300 levels, so new modified 'idiot savant' will help a lot.
  • Collecting magazines, bobbleheads, companion perks is now more helpful and recommended.
  • Some skills are changed, reordered, much more interesting and useful.
  • More perks are needed for crafting, especially science perk is required for most technology related stuff.
  • Lockpicking everything is available instantly from level one, but perks and AGI make it reasonably easier. Bobby pins are more rare.
  • Hacking is simplified to not do the repeating minigame. Now holotapes to reprogram and override terminals might be of use.

Settlements, Building

  • Expensive build costs of robot workbenches, turrets, big generators, so buying component shipments is justified.
  • You can hire guards for caps or risk settlers lives on the usual guard posts.
  • Can't harvest planted fruit and veg, you get your fair share in workbench instead.
  • Collecting resources by settlers changed. Bigger variety of settlers and they are now mortal.
  • More objects to build and decorate your bases.

Locations, Loot

  • Items like meds and ammo are harder to find and exist in appropriate containers.
  • New map markers and few minuteman towers as a small addition to explore.
  • Quick travel available, but only to settlements.
  • Only rare enemies like bosses drop legendaries. And many more...

  • After installing the mod list, restart your PS4/PS5.

  • Change game difficulty to survival in options.

  • If you want even more immersive settings, go to Settings, Gameplay and turn off quest markers or crosshair.
  • Go to Options, Sound and reduce ambience level by 5-8 clicks and reverb by 2-3.
  • Dont forget to change camera sensitivity (I play on max), next go to Options, Display and change hud color to blue or any other that makes sense (not red), lower transparency by 30% or more, set pip-boy colour to your preference (I use red pip-boy and minty hud to have the best compatibility with highlighting perks and scopes).

You can add/swap some mods if you want:

Faster Positive Affinity For Companions - Removes cooldown between companions liking/hating your actions and gain five times more positive affinity. Swap with mod #91 if you want more cheaty version. \ 105... Silent Main Menu - To mute main menu sound, find duplicate sound slider named 'Master sound' and move it all the way to the left. Add after mod #41. \ 106... Quieter Settlements PS4 - Contraptions DLC - Quieter production lines. I ran out of space on mod list so this and next one are optional. Add after mod #34. \ 107... Known issues, bugs, glitches, exploits:

Some of those are present in vanilla game. I just mention every problem encountered during testing and not fully fixed. - Ground textures in and around sanctuary flicker black. FIX: Fixes itself. Possibly after short time or reload. - Creature cages cost too much in building menu. NO FIX: Did not found a safe and balanced fix yet, so cages are most likely out of reach, because cost is absurd. - Green chest containing flare gun and 10k flares after exiting vault 111. FIX: Mod dev forgot to delete it. Ignore it or if it bothers you much, remove mod #83, which I don't recommend doing. - Hubby secret basement in Sanctuary. NO FIX: Its up to you if you want to use its content. Just easier difficulty option, but not game breaking. - Hacking rank 4 seems useless or has wrong description. NO FIX: Needs proper check. - Wall turrets sometimes glitches and play sound on repeat. FIX: Re-enter the area or reload save. - Contact frag mines seems to have too low damage. FIX: Just dont craft them. Rest of new explosives should work fine even that it shows low damage values in description. - Perception low, constant (-1) PER in stats because of poison damage/resistance bug. FIX: Add mod #110 and equip perception rings. Dont delete the mod. Cant find safer solution for now. Rings dont take equipment slots. - Action girl perk have only one rank on female character and two on male. NO FIX: Just 25% AP regen loss at high level. Not a big deal. - Bubblegum seems to unintentionally quench thirst a bit and kind vendors give it for free. NO FIX: Free candies. Its better to use them to slow down time. - Incorrect cost to build concrete foundations. FIX: Use mod #20 to add tons of foundations in newly added category Structures-Concrete. - OCDecorator replaces creation club menu. FIX: Items from CC are still available in other building categories. Ignore or delete mod #24 + #25 if you dont care about its function. - Few perk descriptions might be slightly incorrect or missing. NO FIX: Nothing important to worry about. - Three street lights, powered water pump, industrial purifier and subway light have incorrect build costs. NO FIX: These have wrong values, but items like clean sofa or tv are more expensive to build on purpose though. - Pip-boy light wont transfer from first to third person camera view. FIX: Turn flashlight off and on. - Water surface sometimes flash black when moving underwater. NO FIX: Its not very noticable and you don't dive much in FO4 anyway. - Can't use Wattz Consumer Electronics terminal, animation stops. FIX: There is a radroach behind the wall. Kill it by swinging melee, explosives or reenter area. - Flashlight in Vault111 has incorrect beam look/color. FIX: It will fix itself after mods load right after you leave Vault111, dont worry.
v1.00 - Initial version.

Have fun!

2024.05.15 22:06 jayjayelix Vacation with kids <18 Revolut cards

Hi Revolut'ers,
Taking my kids on summer vacation to Japan and Taiwan. I'd like to put maybe $10 here or $40 here for them to spend while abroad. Maybe $10 for a 7-11 trip, maybe $20 for a Tsukiji marketplace trip or at the Taiwan night markets, $40 for a Ghibli Museum trip, that sort of thing.
I know these things:
Questions/Just want to confirm:
Thanks in advance!
(If their cash withdrawal limit eats into the parents, then it's probably better I disable that and I just make a big withdrawal bundle, and hand out cash when they need it.)

2024.05.15 20:57 OriginalSprinkles718 [PS5/PS4] List of 100+ mods with correct LOAD ORDER - Difficult and satisfying survival challenge.

========== CHANGES ==========

Have fun!

========== CHANGES ==========

[FO4][PS5/PS4] List of 100+ mods with correct LOAD ORDER - Difficult and satisfying survival challenge.

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE POST.

========== CHANGES ==========

- Foes have special moves like biting and holding leg, wrestling moves, kicks.

- No dreadful, annoying, unimmersive: combat music, hearthbeat, sounds of generators, turrets, exp gain sound, most perk triggers and perk chart.

Crafting, Modifying

  • Making/disasembling ammo and also creating various shipments. Upgrading clothes, rings, glasses in different ways.
  • Legendary swapping, crafting legendary effects using technical documents. Some effects have been adjusted.

- Added crafting of new, lower damage explosives, but they have unique effects for ease of use.

- Hacking is simplified to not do the repeating minigame.

- More objects to build and decorate your bases.

2024.05.15 20:35 eli_ashe The 451 Percenters, Puritanism At The CDC And Other Fascistic Fallacies

Bit of a longer post, sorry bout that, but I felt it was time, perhaps once again, to point out the flaws and limitations in the CDC’s stats on sexual violence, specifically as they relate to the National Intimate Partner Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS), which is the source of all the fun stats on sexual violence that get thrown around by the 451 percenters. Who are the 451 percenters? Those the folks who believe and spread the lies bout sexual violence being endemic to society. Everyone’s a sexual predator! All 451 percent of women are violated, and all 451 percent of men are violators.
TL;DR: An analysis and rebuttal to the CDC and NISVS’s statistics on sexual violence. The CDC uses NISVS to generate the stats on punny sexual violence that make wild claims, like one third of all women, etc… the 451 percenters’ claims bout punny sexual violence. They use a ‘yes means yes’ method of determining what counts as punny sexual violence, which is aesthetics based. Elevating aesthetical concerns to ethically obligatory concerns is fascistic, and a grave moral fallacy. ‘Yes means yes’ is also puritanical, meaning it overly moralizes sexuality. Putting puritanical fascists in charge of determining how many punny sexual offenses are happening is like putting the KKK in charge of determining how many jews are sexual predators. “All 451 percent of them, obviously!”
Body Of The Post
‘Yes means yes’ is an aesthetical ethical concern, ‘Do I want it or not’. This is what the National Intimate Partner Violence Survey (NISVS) and the CDC use and reflect in their stats on sexual violence. Vibes. They are the ‘emmitt till got what he deserved’ crowd. Whistling at a lady is a criminalizable offense to these folks, a ‘punny sexual violence’.
‘No means no’ is an ethically obligatory concern, ‘Did I refuse it or not’. This is what the criminal stats on sexual violence use and reflect in their stats on sexual violence. Hard data. They are the ‘emmit till did nothing wrong’ crowd. Whistling at a lady is at most tasteless, emmitt till could do far better.
‘Wanting’ or ‘Not Wanting’ something does not consent make. I can want to fuck someone, but not consent to do so. I could not want to fuck someone, but nonetheless consent to do so. The former perhaps because I think it is a bad idea to fuck ‘em even tho I want to. The latter, perhaps because I think it is a good idea to fuck ‘em even tho I don’t want to.
The ‘yes means yes’ folks, the CDC & NISVS stats on sexual violence all mistake ‘wanting’ and ‘not wanting’ for ‘consenting’ and ‘not consenting’; these are not the same things. This is deliberate on their part too. They believe that ‘yes means yes’ is what ought to constitute a determination of sexual violence. Regardless of how y’all view that, it is a deeply controversial notion, and not necessarily reflective of what most people think of when they think of sexual violence.
‘Unwanted’ essentially means ‘I don’t like it’. It is a complaint bout the aesthetical qualities of the sexual encounter, not its consensualism. If this is at all unclear, the simplest method to understand why this is so is to note two unrelated aspects.
One is racism. People regularly ‘feel fearful’ of men for no reason at all, but they also feel fearful of men because of racism all the time. That fear factor ™ is what makes the encounter ‘coercion’ or ‘unwanted’. The person literally does nothing wrong, *just exists* and the other person freaks out.
Note in the quoted sections at the end of this post how much of the stats rely on fear and feelings to generate their numbers.
Two is the person came on too strong or in an undesirable way. The person flirts in a normal and perfectly fine way, but the other person freaks out. Think bout it people, for the love of god think bout it. ‘Coming on too strong’ and ‘an undesirable flirtation’ are being counted as ‘punny sexual violence’ in these stats.
It’s entirely puritanical, and entirely a concern bout aesthetics.
There are other sorts of coercive methods, but the point here is that the terms ‘unwanted’ and ‘coercion’ only really cash out as ‘I don’t like it for some reason or another’ in the CDC’s and NISVS’s stats.
When you see that lady spouting off bout her fears of mexican rapists, she’s reflected in these stats folks. They’re just surveys. People who lock their car doors in ‘bad neighborhoods’ are reflected in those stats.
These all translate to ‘I felt threatened’ (big black boy vibes) or ‘felt pressured’ (scary white guy vibes), or ‘felt in danger’ (native american coming to get you vibes), or ‘felt uncertain if you wanted it’ (arab terrorist vibes) or 'felt like I was being manipulated' (angry asian martial artists vibes) . Doesn’t have to be racism at play here either, women can be irrationally fearful of any man. Vibes.
The actions themselves are not criminalizable.
Non p-hacked stats try to avoid these kinds of obvious ambiguities in the language used to generate the 451 percenters’ stats. These folks however lean into the lies and deceptions, and deliberately use language designed to deceive people reading the stats into thinking that people have been harmed. They take language that means literally ‘I like or don’t like it’ and translate that to mean ‘I was sexually harassed, sexually assaulted, or even raped’.
This is how they inflate the numbers, so we get to the 451 percenters’ wacky ass beliefs; ‘451 percent of women will suffer egregious sexual violence to them at least fifty times in their lives’. All this means is vibes. 451 percent of women get some bad vibes bout some dudes.
You can hear it echoed in the bear or man discourse. Why do women choose the bear? Vibes and irrational fears. ‘We choose the bear because we don’t feel safe!’ translates directly to ‘Emmitt till whistled at me, and he’s a big black boy, that’s scary’ and ‘the mexican rapists are swarming over the border to get me’.
These are the stats that people point to when they try to justify their misandristic hot ass takes. They are self-referential to that same fear based aesthetic the stats are. The stats are reflective of peoples’ irrational fears, and people use those stats to justify their irrational fears, and people spread those fear based stats thereby spreading their unjustified fears. It’s a circle rub.
To criminalize these kinds of things is to be fascistic (treating aesthetics as if they were of obligatory concern), to believe that they are morally reprehensible is to be a puritan (overly moralizing sexuality).
The folks deriving these stats translate ‘unwanted’ (aesthetical ethics) to ‘sexual assault’, ‘sexual harassment’, or ‘rape’ (obligatory ethics), then lump everything together as ‘punny sexual violence’ to get the big numbers used to scare people and terrorize men. That’s called fascism.
“[T]here remains a likelihood of underreporting due to the sensitive nature of SV”.
This justification means that they do not trust people to report SV, ‘don’t believe women when they say they haven’t suffered any SV, manipulate the questions so they say yes to something they don’t think is SV, or which simply isn’t SV, and we’ll just call it SV of this or that sort. Later we’ll propagandize people so they too come to believe our puritanical misandristic hot ass takes.’
There is no lie nor hyperbole in what I am saying here. That is the rationale and the method. If you bone up on your academic lit in the topic, this is, well not verbatim what they say, I am lambasting them here, but this is the crux of what their argument and justifications are, and they explicitly hold that they ought be propagandizing people to their puritanical beliefs.
They push the fascistic (aesthetical ethical) and puritanical (overly moralized sexual ethics) discourse into the public by presenting stats that merely reflect fears and pretend that they are reflective of sexual violence. People then come to believe that those kinds of fear based concerns are actually sexual violence. An ‘unwanted flirtation’ becomes in their minds and only in their minds a sexual violence.
Emmitt till got lynched for whistling at a lady. They only disagree bout the racism, but he definitely deserved to be punished in some way like all men do for whistling at someone they think is hot af. Puritanism.
All just vibes, all but aesthetics, and all fascistically raised to a level of ethically obligatory concern.
“Just as SV is not limited to physically forced penetration, its perpetrators are not limited to strangers. Indeed, perpetrators of SV are more likely to be someone known to the victim. Sexual violence is a problem embedded in our society and includes unwanted acts perpetrated by persons very well known (e.g., family members, intimate partners, and friends), generally known (e.g., acquaintances), not known well or just known by sight (e.g., someone in your neighborhood, person just met) and unknown to the victim (e.g., strangers). “
Be afraid of everyone, any man out there could be your next rapist! That’s right ladies and gents, you’ve been raped several times already, you just didn’t know it. But don’t worry, the statisticians know better. They asked you an unrelated question you said yes to since you were too dumb to know that you were raped, and counted it as rape. Then they informed you that you ought be afraid of everyone in your community, lest they also rape you, unbeknownst to you of course. But again, don’t worry, the statistician will count those too.
As a measure of fear the 451 percenters capture, well or worse who knows, all the racism, sexism, bigotry, and various phobias in the society, and how those fears are transferred onto masculine bodies as imaginary perpetrators of punny sexual offenses. None of it is real, there are not 451 percent of sexual violences happening, 451 percent of men are not sexual predators, and 451 percent of women are not victims of sexual violence.
‘Safety culture’ mostly reflects irrational fears.
Ask the kkk how many black people are rapists, you’re gonna get a high number. Ask puritans how many people are punny sexual offenders, you’re going to get a very high number. Such is the most tame interpretation of what is going on. The 451 percenters are puritans, they’ve overly moralized sexuality, counting offenses to their sensibility rather than criminal actions.
Puritans informing you how ‘vile and wicked’ your sexual ways are; advocating to make their puritanical beliefs bout punny sexual offenses into legally enforceable laws. These are the same kinds of concerns bout a someone dressing too provocatively, such is a ‘punny sexual violation’ to the sensibilities of others.
The less tame version of this is that it is exactly what fascists do. Lie to people especially bout punny sexual offenses in order to ratchet up the fear levels in the population, so they run to them to solve the ‘problem’.
Could be both tho.
Either way, their misandry murders little boys. They celebrate terrorizing men, and rejoice in lynching folks. They’re despicable people.
Solutions?
Ruthlessly love them. Write them love poems, show them kindness and generosity of spirit, but give them not a dime in money, nor ever relent to their irrational fears. Extol their beauty and virtues, make love with them, utterly ruthlessly. Be overtly sexual bout it, in this give them no quarter, bring to an end their puritanism by giving them no plausible cause to be thus. No one under the duress of loves’ enticements and sexual pleasures be puritans. Be relentless, show them masculine sexuality; give them nothing to complain bout, but give them masculine sexuality. Don’t fall for their puritanism, be the boys of summer.
Respect a ‘no means no’ ethic as a code of obligatory actions. Use aesthetical ethics towards good sex with mutual respect given; don’t ever take that as a one way thing. Do not conflate the aesthetics of good sex, 'enthusiastic yeses’ with those of the ethics of obligation ‘no means no’. Don’t be puritans, don’t be fascists, be sex positivists.
Call out the stats when folks bring them up, refer people to these points, feel free to refer people to this post and/or the attached video. ‘But the CDC said’ is not a valid argument; they have put puritans in charge of determining punny sexual offenses. They find punny sexual offenses everywhere they look.
If you’re super coolio, start advocating against the CDC’s use of NISVS to determine what constitutes sexual violence. It doesn’t match with criminal data’s methods, it doesn’t utilize the metrics of ‘no means no’ which are the proper metrics to use, instead it utilizes what amounts to peculiar beliefs bout the aesthetics of sex as a means of measure for punny sexual offenses.
They are spreading a puritanical belief system bout punny sexual offenses, nothing more, and they are causing public health problems by spreading their lies. They are not counting sexual offenses, they are not a criminal justice system, they aren’t technically even in the business of understanding sexual violence. They are the Center For Disease Control, not the ‘center for social engineering sexual practices control’.
Original video on the topic, with some additional resources for understanding these issues in the description.
The Rest Of This Post Is References To The CDC, NISVS, And Crime Data Reports, Along With Some Quotes Thereof With Short Specific Retorts Highlighting The Relevant Info In The Quotes As It Pertains To The Post. This Is But A Small Sample Of How They Use Language Of Aesthetics To Make Their Ethical Claims, And How Their Language Is Misandristic.

Some key quotes from this, Bolded text hereafter are coded for ‘yes means yes’ methods of understanding sexual violence, and sometimes misandristic language. Italicized text are quotes from the sources:
“Rape is defined as any completed or attempted unwanted [unwanted is an aesthetic criteria, not a consent criteria which is ‘a no was stated’ attempted while a real thing allows for further insertion of scary vibes to pad the stats, e.g. the blackness of the lover] ...includes times when the victim was drunk, high*, drugged, or passed out and unable to consent.* [puritanical belief bout drinking and drugs, e.g. one cannot consent if drunk or high. Note that it is separate from being drugged or passed out and unable to consent, and that criminally speaking being drunk or high is not indicative of a lack of capacity to consent, also note this is de facto applied to women only].
“Sexual coercion is defined as unwanted sexual penetration that occurs after a person is pressured in a nonphysical way. In NISVS, sexual coercion refers to unwanted vaginal, oral, or anal sex after being pressured in ways that include being worn down by someone who repeatedly asked for sex or showed they were unhappy; feeling pressured by being lied to, being told promises that were untrue, having someone threaten to end a relationship or spread rumors; and sexual pressure due to someone using their influence or authority.”
Unwanted is an aesthetic category, not a consent category. ‘Sexual coercion’ is not a criminal offense either. It is a puritanical belief bout sexuality that is based on a sex negative view, e.g. that sex is a bad unless and until magical words are said to make it into a good. Calling it ‘sexual violence’ is just lying. Coercion is defined misandristically to only be bout penetration, which precludes all the ways that women use sex and sexuality to manipulate, use, abuse, and harm people; note that there are essentially zero surveys done that include some ‘feminine coded coercive behavior’ into these stats. That is by design. Including not incidentally the way that women have historically and currently used irrational fears over their sexuality to terrorize men and get people murdered.
“Unwanted sexual contact is defined as unwanted sexual experiences involving touch but not sexual penetration, such as being kissed in a sexual way, or having sexual body parts fondled, groped, or grabbed.”
Unwanted is aesthetics, not consent. Also this literally describes flirting. I know they want to try and capture some other sort of notion, grossy mcgrosser pinning someone down and groping them, but all this describes here, and all the stats can possibly reflect, is flirting.
“Non-contact unwanted sexual experiences is defined as those unwanted experiences that do not involve any touching or penetration, including someone exposing their sexual body parts, flashing, or masturbating in front of the victim, someone making a victim show his or her body parts, someone making a victim look at or participate in sexual photos or movies*, or* someone harassing the victim in a public place in a way that made the victim feel unsafe.”
This category is quite broad and puritanical in its disposition, as it assumes there is something wrong with seeing naked images unless and until expressed verbal consent is given, and undoubtedly ignores the en masse flood of naked images of women online to which basically every guy is exposed to. Compare again to people who claim that women ought not be allowed to show their ankles as it causes a ‘harm’ to those who are ‘forced’ to see it. Exact same shite. Aesthetical concerns of wanted or unwantedness, and also notice the expressly stated vibes check ‘victim feel unsafe’. Look out for the black boys, they make them feel unsafe!
Crime/Law Enforcement Stats (UCR Program) — FBI
Quick Facts on Sexual Abuse Offenses (ussc.gov)
It’s worth mentioning that statistically speaking, if one uses the stats derived from crime data as opposed to statisticians making numbers up, the percentages of men who do sexual violence, depending a bit on how you count it, are: 0.0516% or .478% or .0957%. Although the video goes over this all in pretty good depth, just do a little sniff test here; are .478% of the male population sexually violating a third of all women, 55.5 million women?

2024.05.15 20:29 redditproductteam We heard you… awards are back!

TL;DR - Awards are back. We’re also expanding the Contributor Program and announcing a make-good program for those who lost coins during the last product iteration. Let’s start with the obvious – we tried something new, it wasn’t great (you called it). And now – it’s time for us to do something about it. So we’re (re)launching awards, not-so-new but definitely improved. Rollout starts today on reddit.com and Reddit’s iOS and Android apps.

We messed up – sorry

ICYMI, last year we released new features that we thought would make the experience of rewarding high-quality posts and comments even better. To address feedback that awards were starting to clutter posts and feeds, we replaced legacy awards with a simplified experience where redditors could purchase “new” gold – displayed as a golden upvote – directly with cash, rather than having to purchase coins first.
While the golden upvote was certainly simpler in theory, in practice, it missed the mark. It wasn’t as fun or expressive as legacy awards, and it was unclear how it benefited the recipient.
As part of the launch of the golden upvote, we also introduced the Contributor Program in the U.S. The program allows eligible users to earn cash for their contributions, as measured by the gold and karma received. (It’s worth noting that although there were understandable concerns about the Contributor Program leading to karma farming or other spam and fraud issues, we haven’t seen an increase in this behavior since the rollout six months ago.) Unlike the golden upvote, interest in the program has grown… more on that in a second.
Finally, as part of this launch, we sunset coins. We gave those with a balance two months to spend their coins before we cleared balances and removed the monthly drip as a benefit of Reddit Premium.

Award upgrades

We realized the golden upvote was the wrong direction, and the right one was the one you were advocating for all along: awards. We went back to the ol’ drawing board and created a refreshed experience that captures the original spirit of awards, with a few improvements.
Tap on the awards button in a post or comment to give an award and purchase gold
View the top awards and gold earned by a post or comment in the awards leaderboard
We’ve added:

Contributor Program expansion

We want redditors who make the most valuable contributions on Reddit to receive real value; not just internet points.
With growing interest in the Contributor Program, we have expanded the program so that qualifying redditors in 35 countries can now earn cash for their contributions to the community. See if you’re eligible to sign up.

The Evolution of Gold and Coins

Gold has been a lot of things in Reddit history. The term has been used interchangeably in the context of awarding content, Reddit Premium, and more – among other things. With this new version of awards, gold can be purchased to give awards. You can buy it in bulk and spend down your gold balance and/or top it up when giving an award.
Those who had a coin balance when we introduced the golden upvote and sunset coins had two months to spend their coins before we cleared balances and removed the monthly drip as a benefit of Reddit Premium. For the most prolific and helpful among you, who’d accumulated heaps of coins a la Scrooge McDuck, this was, shall we say, a not-so-great experience.
We know we did not adequately communicate why we removed coins or what was coming next. It wasn’t cool of us, we’re sorry, and we want to make it right. If we removed your coins balance, you’ll have access to a number of exclusive awards to give for free. We don’t want our past mistakes to get in the way of you enjoying the new experience.
Exclusive awards available to coin holders
This is all so new (but kinda old? but also new?) and you may have questions. You can find support in a few places:
We’ll be hanging around today if you have any questions, so feel free to drop them in the comments.

2024.05.15 17:04 RamaLeuu So far my timeline in Universe mode

Me and my buddy tried to do some kind of a multi superstar mode, we cooked a new show, and i would only fight matches that involved my chosen superstar(A custom CAW) and my buddy took Bobby Lashley as his guy
So far the story:
(At this point automatic rivalries are on)
First week we are jobless, none of us get booked,
Second week Bobby gets matched with Akira tozawa(ARIGATOOOOOOOOO), Wins, i get booked against another CAW i created, my guy is a lightweight technician and the other guy is a massive highflyer, he superplexes me off the top rope and the ring breaks, we pop as we thought this was only possible by two massive guys
Third week Bobby gets matched with Tozawa again, wins again i am jobless again.
Fourth week im tag matched with the same guy, the Ringbreaker, that broke the ring with my feather spine, against Andrew Tate(Dont ask) and Demon Finn Balor, we win
at this point a ple is coming ahead, and we still have no champs, so we set up a match with Bobby going for NWO championship and me going after IC championship, Bobby wins (At this point we are playing by 'if we have a 1v1 match we both play but the guy controls his character and i control the other guy, but if its a tag team we team up) The IC championship is going up, and im put against the Ringbreaker, I have move thief payback and i didnt see that he has brass knuckles payback, i get DQ, noone gets the belt
Week after PLE, Bobby is again matched with Tozawa. We finally turn off auto rivalries, i am injured(i guess i hit those knuckles too hard) (AUTO RIVALRIES ARE OFF)
I set up a rivalry between Bobby and another CAW which ill name 'Gosha', and they start duking it out, first week after the rivalry is set up its instantly a championship match, and i tried to be Montez ford as the manager, however the legend ai just sweeps the floor with Bobby and takes the belt
(ON THE SIDESTORIES) Umaga and CM Punk(CAW) is going against Kane and trick williams, Kane has the goddamn Undertaker and Paul Bearer as his managers(Neither taker not Paul are in the show) Money in the bank is won by AI Lebron James(yes) Somewhy he has his mitb target set as the undisputed belt(My exhibition mode mitb target) even though we dont have the belt on the show, so i set it his target as the NWO championship (keep in mind this is the same night when the mitb ladder was happening, and we still have a main event that is Lashley against Gosha for the belt as a rivalry match(literally same match from last week), so we set it up and the main event changes to some sort of announce cash in match but Lebron James only comes up in the middle of the match.
Bobby and Gosha duke it out, it comes to the back and forth minigame, and before we could end it and the spamming punches minigame begins, Bobby Lashleys music hits(??) with the announcers shouting 'Could this be???'
A minute we finish the minigame Lebron(AI) finally shows up, and whoever created this Lebron thought its a good idea to give him a bunch of flip moves, the guy is like 2.5meters, jesus christ. Bobby somehow pulls trough and claims the belt (He pinned Gosha and Lebron just went out of the ring, breaking news, Lebron forgot about cancelling the pin)
Next week its Bobby against Gosha again for the belt, same rivalry actions, and i notice The Ringbreaker having a 1v1 against Umaga, apparently it was supposed to be a 2v2 match but rivalry actions changed it up and i didnt even understand i wasnt going to be there. At this point, the rivalry actions are reallly messing it all up, Bobby has a match with managers, you put on a rivalry action, the managers are gone, you put in the managers manually, the rivalry actions are gone, Bobby retains, i dont get a fight this week, we manually end the rivalry since it didnt end after PLE (We also manually set up a tag team championship on a random 6 man tornado tag, since no other championships are being fought on)
So far the the brand looks like this
Bobby Lashley: NWO heavyweight champion, ~1 week Andrew tate and Demon Finn Balor - WWE tag team champions(The new fancy ones from community) ~<1 week UpUpDownDown championship - vacant IC championship - vacant
so far the rivalry actions are quite clunky, but we had a great time aside from Bobby having to fight Tozawa for 3 weeks in a row and Undashing Cody Rhodes somewhy having 3 matches in one day(man the guy is really working) Any tips on how we could make this campaign better?

[First] [Prev]
Dialog Key:
[Translated]: Dates, Units of Measurement, or other Grammatical terms will be retrofitted to be legible for readers while still staying true to their definition
{Exposition}: Immediate context regarding events, People, Entities, or other key points that allow for understanding amongst different cultures.
...In the sudden gap of power, the Humans were asked to take on this position, which they agreed. And suddenly the Humans, and all of their political experience and philosophies, made their way onto the Galactic council. Now, whether it was planned or sheer dumb luck that a Council member would be evicted just in time for the Corpo’s plan to work is still up for debate, but nevertheless, The Terran Conglomerate’s Position on the Galactic Council was the final lunch pin that solidified the clauses of the Commercial Pacts provided by these Human Corporations, Identifying a "Corporatocracy" as a legitimate form of government; and The Terran Trust was, by all definitions, a functioning, advanced, Interstellar empire.
Of course, the Council was having none of it at this point and attempted to go ahead with the Charter of Worker’s Rights, trying to complete it before the Terran Trust could join the Galactic Community and legally be allowed to vote in the Senate. However, problems kept popping up for the council, slowing down and delaying the charter. Some Empires wanted to rewrite certain clauses after the final drafts were written. Changing opinions and delegations slowed the process to a crawl, and no matter how hard they tried, the Galactic Community couldn’t do the same for the acceptance of the Terran Trust. This was mostly due to the fact that there was no real process of introduction into the Galactic Community outside of the previously mentioned “List” which, as all Humans know, “Wasn’t really necessary to join”.
Basically, all you needed to do was apply and you’d be accepted at this point. With the list declared Pointless, there was no real process for joining outside of a basic screening to make sure you weren’t a case of death cultists or fanatic purifiers. And since the Terran Trust was neither, there was only so much the Galactic Council could do to delay their entry. And when they did join, well, that only made things worse. Now with official Trust embassies in nearly every non-council member capital world, it made it worlds easier for these Corpos to force their will on others. Using their vast swaths of cash to bribe government officials out of their own agendas and ambitions, and if they refused?
Well, being a recognized nation now, the Trust could enforce embargos and trade blockades in Empire territories. And it's not like these other Nations could break them with their own military because they didn’t have their own militaries. They had PMCs, Human PMCs, worlds more effective and powerful than any conventional alien military and only costing roughly the same price. The biggest downside to these PMCs is that they’re not loyal, all it takes is a bigger bank account to completely flip the ideologies of these Mercenaries. Blinded by money, a common scenario seen throughout those who resisted the Corpo’s will would have their own Mercenary garrisons completely block imports and exports between planets or entire systems, starving the very people they were paid to protect.
Without any real power left in their hands, the Empires of the Galaxy capitulated, agreeing to whatever demands the Corporations might have. And, as always, the Corpos made them sign a contract. This time, though, they read the fine print, not that they could change anything or make any demands, but if nothing else to show that they were now taking these contracts seriously.
And just like that, the Human Megacorps had won. They had the entire galaxy under their thumbs, every last sentient was now under the employment of the Terran Trust, who effectively, but not officially, vassalized the rest of the galactic powers through the force of financial superiority.
And the Humans themselves? Well, any human outside of Conglomerate space met a similar fate to everyone else… unless they were a Corpo. It wasn’t a rare sight to see a Ce’davi Manager berating a Human twice their size. Meanwhile, the opposite was true within human space! As it turns out, having the Headquarters for a Galaxy-spanning Megacorporation tends to bring in a lot of material wealth. The denizens of the Terran Conglomerate found themselves living in abject luxury, barely having to work a day in their life because of how cheap everything was. Oh, and they never stopped fighting… well… technically.
You see, the Humans, as untrusting as they are, knew they could never stop advancing their tech, lest the other guy get better at fighting than them. But, the Humans also knew how expensive wars were to maintain, even if they did produce technological marvels and martial jobs in their wake. So, they found a compromise. Once they had felt like they hit a tech ceiling on how deadly they could make some of their weapons they switched to simulations on their tech. They had dozens of different AIs strategize and blow each other up in the virtual realm hundreds of times over, and then publish their unorthodox tactics in textbooks for future generations of military strategists.
All in all, it seemed like the Humans had won, their drive for competition dominated us in ways we could never predict, and we only hoped their Prerogative was satiated now.
