Highest quality SOUND for under $300

2024.05.19 02:48 OOglyshmOOglywOOgly Highest quality SOUND for under $300

Anything better than a JBL Xtreme 3 for $230 (currently on sale)???
I’m not looking for the best value. I know that the stormbox blast and many others get recommended often over more well known JBL, Sony, Bose, etc type speakers and it sounds like they definitely do hold their own..
But when it comes down purely to high quality sound, clear mids and highs, accurate deep bass, just overall sound quality; What is the best portable Bluetooth speaker for under $300?
I mainly listen to edm, more specifically bass music. More specifically, music made for sound systems; artists like Tipper, Detox Unit, Jade Cicada. I also assume that a stereo speaker will be much better for more complex music than a mono speaker so ideally I’ll be needing a stereo speaker. Currently, the JBL Xtreme 3 is what I’m looking into. It’s normally $400 but is on sale for $230 until tomorrow.
For $230 is the JBL Extreme 3 the best I can get? Or is there something better at a similar price?
Edit: OR I could get a refurbished JBL Boombox 2 for the exact same price as the Xtreme 3???

2024.05.19 02:42 ThisIsKeiKei [Excerpt: Tally of Slaughter] The Executioners Chapter fights the first Vashtorr Marines

Context:The Ushmengar are a Chaos warband dedicated to Vashtorr. They were initially part of the Astral Claws, but when Huron was defeated during the Badab War, they decided to forge their own path instead of following him to the Maelstrom. These Space Marines in particular were some of the first Astral Claws that the Executioners slaughtered during the Badab War, and the Warband was formed by the survivors of their rampage.
In this short story, the Executioners, having just finished a Penitent Crusade, were hunting for the Ushmengar. They had managed to pinpoint them to a Mechanicum forgeworld, and the Death Speaker of the chapter, an Astartes named Razel, a Librarian named Igikura, and a group of Bladeguard descended onto the planet. When they found the Chaos lord of the Ushmengar, named Kagal, this is what happened
The Chaos Space Marine cocked its head to one side, eyes boring into Razel’s. When the Death Speaker was within reach, it nodded and spread its arms wide. The Executioner swung his crozius. The fractal form of the Heretic Astartes shivered as Sharur connected with it. There was the roar of a vast furnace underscored by the shriek of overtaxed bellows, the clanking of gears and the hammering of pistons, and the Ushmengar vanished like smoke blown in the wind, leaving only a chorus of trailing screams.
After this, Razel and his men continued to go deeper into the Manufactorium and ended up fighting a bunch of other Ushmengar
The Death Speaker swung his crozius, but the Chaos Space Marine dodged the attack. The strike went wide, cracking the side of the furnace. Razel punched out with his pistol and sent his opponent’s bolter flying off. Undeterred, the Ushmengar ripped off a piston hammer from a slain ogryn and arrested Razel’s downward swing. Muscles strained, his sinew coils contracted and he drove the Heretic Astartes onto one knee. The Ushmengar’s composure broke and he roared at the Death Speaker. With a burst of vigour he regained his footing and shook Razel off. Burst fire from the Executioner’s pistol stitched an arc across his helmet, which cracked, exposing his metallic face beneath. The delineation between the organic and inorganic had become blurred to the extent that they had become one and the same. Oil bled from ruined armour and unclean flesh-metal.
A storm had broken out at the end of the hall. Lightning flashed, lancing out from furnace to furnace as a rain of brimstone fell. An unholy radiance pulsed in the penumbral gloom, accompanied by the skirling of bronze horns lining the altar. The light rose out of the chancel of the command fane and drifted towards the Death Speaker and the Epistolary, who had advanced ahead to the binary-etched plaza. Within the pulsing storm was Kalag.
Molten metal was siphoned off the blast furnaces, forming fiery wheels into an armillary sphere spinning around the floating Ushmengar. The skitarii shrieked in binharic as they were lifted from the raised walkways, torn towards the eye of the churning storm. They were disassembled, their flesh withering into ash whilst their bionics melded into the spinning rings upon which bleeding eyes had formed. As Kalag moved towards Razel and Igikura, a forge-vault vast beyond imagining spread out behind him, the hellish vision overlapping the reality of the manufactorum. There was the roar of colossal furnaces, the heave and gasp of monumental bellows, and the clang of countless hammers, thudding pistons and clanking gears, underpinned by the screaming of tortured souls fuelling the forges.
Whereas Kalag’s form had been ephemeral before, a charcoal sketch jumping in and out of focus, now it was wholly corporeal. His armour was burned black, running with unclean oils and unguents. Mechadendrites writhed from between the plates like fungal growths, straining for some dire unity with the emergent daemonic mechanism. Around him were the rings of the armillary sphere, which were both armour and a mechanism to unravel reality, spinning faster until they were a blur as the warpsmith approached them
Up ahead, Igikura stood alone, defiant. The crystalline matrix of his axe blazed, focusing his power before it lanced upwards into Kalag. For a moment, the spinning rings slowed and fire raged down upon the Epistolary, enveloping the Executioner. The apotropaic sigils upon his armour shone migraine-bright as they earthed the worst effects of the warpsmith’s attack. The Librarian’s mind was in the throes of a fever dream, the backwash of the Ushmengar’s barrage bruising his soul.
Sensing his brother’s agony, Razel rose and swung, striking again. A resonant peal shivered through the armillary sphere to no discernible effect.
Kalag, whose attention had been thoroughly upon Igikura, glanced at him, his quasar-like gaze boring into Razel’s own. A high-pitched screech preceded the obliteration of Razel’s helm display. His armour felt heavier. The fibre-bundle muscles tensed and servos halted, keeping him upright. Straining, he raised his hands and took off his helmet. When he beheld the ashes of penitence streaking down Razel’s defiant face, the warpsmith sneered. ‘Lapdog of the False Emperor.’ His voice thundered like the hammer of a god striking an anvil
Razel bared his teeth in response, glistening with blood. ‘You were supposed to die at Badab.’ ‘Oh but you see, I did die. We were marooned in the immaterium after our warp drives failed. Bereft, betrayed by a rotting Imperium and an unkind god bedecked in fool’s gold. Where was Lufgt Huron then? His promises and his lies? We no longer need him, nor your carrion god. We have a new divinity to serve!’ Kalag turned towards the growing portal behind him, his arms encompassing the hellish scene and the towering daemonic figure with scythe-like wings who was looking down at the Executioners with an amused interest. ‘Behold the Arkifane! Our salvation! We will deliver this forge-temple of Mars to him!’
"Brother…" Igikura’s voice was straining with titanic effort. "I will not make it to the end." The Death Speaker growled. The Librarian forestalled him. "Spare me your protestations. I will distract him and hold the rings, but I am not strong enough to make the final blow. That falls to you. May your own Penitent Crusade be over after this."
Igikura’s mind soared in the warp like the rising sun. He burned with immaterial energies. Coruscating lightning cascaded down his limbs and flared off him in streamer arcs, with a branching spark earthing itself in the Death Speaker’s crozius. One last parting gift from brother to brother.
Razel wasted no time. With the warpsmith’s attention upon the Epistolary, his armour was free. He trudged forward, pausing only to pick up Igikura’s axe whilst hefting his crozius. Breaking into a run, he leapt upon one of the stilled rings. Razel hurled the force axe. It spun, blazing, still saturated with Igikura’s psychic might and sacrifice. The blade wedged fast into Kalag’s breastplate, tendrils of darkness slithering out of the wound. A few moments later, Razel was upon him with Sharur, imbued with a shred of the Epistolary’s empyric strength. The warpsmith raged, blocking the Death Speaker’s strike with a cog-toothed, daemonic axe. Mechadendrites speared through Razel’s armour, biting deep into his flesh. Gurgling blood, the Executioner drew the mace back and slammed it forwards, again and again, shattering his foe’s armour in a frenzy until his corrupt essence could no longer be contained. The unravelling of Kalag was like that of a collapsing star. The death throes screamed out from his unwinding body, black flame rising between the plates, his flesh unmade into ash.

2024.05.19 01:46 xSaturnityx Picked up a 1986 Yamaha yx600 for like $900, is it even worth it to keep trying to fix it?

Sorry for the long post, there's a TLDR at the bottom, just thought i'd put all the details out there.
The bike is a 1986 Yamaha YX600, a slightly odd 'mutt' bike. Bought it a bit ago. It ran when stored, but it was stored for a good while. The dude was super cool so I trusted it, and hey it was $900 for basically a complete bike+helmet+original owners manual+$150 motorcycle ramp, and just a random box of extra small parts.
I bought an original ECU to just keep it simple, I bought original gauge cluster (unfortunately don't remember entirely since it's been a while, but a modern aftermarket gauge cluster would not work, so I had to go with OEM.) Thankfully Ebay was a savior, there were not many parts for this bike and I should have done more research, but fortunately I found one seller that exclusively sells a bunch of parts for it.
After all was said and done it ran, just not very well. Then one day I noticed it was kinda running hot, I somewhat chocked it up to just being super hot outisde, but then noticed some smoke coming out of the crankcase after parking somewhere to check. It was definitely having trouble. Then it just simply wouldn't start up. Got super worried but after letting it cool down for an hour it was alright to start, and just got home quickly.
I went out after a bit and started it to check what was going on, I had a temp gun and noticed cylinder 3 was sitting at a cool 600-700 degrees, while the others were like 300-350. Go figure, it's a 4 cylinder bike with a 4-carb rack. One for each cylinder because... Dunno. The entire thing is such a PITA to take apart but I was determined.
Rebuilt it and cleaned the entire thing 3-4 times, but for some reason Cylinder 3 was running completely lean and I could not figure it out for so long. Then one time when taking it apart again, I noticed that the brass float valve would not seat properly in carb 3, it was like a mm or two high, causing the float needle to have ever so less clearance, jamming the needle up into the float valve when fuel would flow in, sealing the fuel hole entirely until it sucked whatever fuel it could from the bowl. No matter how I bent the prongs of the float, I couldn't get it to seat correctly.
I never understood this, I took it apart and every single time would switch the brass float valve, I had like 3 different kits to grab from, they were all the exact same size and float valve. Look down into the hole that the valve seats in, across all 4 carbs it was the exact same with zero difference, the hole was clean and smooth, so there was no visual reason it wouldn't fit! It irritated me so much that after the fourth time putting it back together and testing it, watching it either dump fuel out or get zero fuel to the bowl after a second, I just put the bike in storage.
I wanted to fix it, but could not figure out how, and nowhere had any information since getting info on the bike in the first place was super rough. I could either try to sand and polish the hole, or even sand down the valve and risk ruining something, or try to buy a whole new carb rack. The issue was that nobody was selling the carb set anywhere, I saw it once on Ebay but it was gone within like a day and was like $500 and didn't see another at any point.
And now time has gotten away from me quite a bit. Don't really have the time or space to work on it, and at this point I am contemplating even attempting to sell a broken bike, or just storing it until I can get to it someday and just try to figure out if any other aftermarket carbs will work for it.
TLDR: Don't have much time anymore, but i've been told the bike is rare in the sense of not too many people really owning one since it's a mutt bike, and the carb is a PITA with one of the four carbs running dangerously lean with a simple surface level issue that I can't solve after rebuilding it 4 times (Brass float valve wont seat all the way for some reason, causing the needle to get stuck in the hole and not allow fuel to flow in until the bowl empties and it gets a brief burst of fuel), and at this point it seems like my only option would be to buy a new carb rack or the specific carb and hope it's in okay condition if I could ever find one that's oem and doesn't cost half what I paid for the bike or isn't destroyed, find an aftermarket one that actually works, try to even attempt to sell it again later on (tried, no luck) or when I finally get time try to fix it and just continue to keep it in storage.

Is It Worth Getting This Jacket Altered for a Better Fit?
Hey everyone,
I’m about to take a motorcycle course and I need to get some gear before I start. A friend offered me a helmet and a jacket for $50 each, which is one hell of a deal. The helmet fits perfectly, and so does the jacket—except it’s designed for women.
The jacket looks good on me and could easily pass as unisex, but the chest area has a bit of extra room, as you might expect. It’s not super obvious, but you can tell it doesn’t fit tight against my chest.
Do you think it’s worth getting it fitted, or should I just roll with it as is? Any advice on whether this might impact comfort or safety while riding? Thanks in advance!

I managed to convince them to let me get an R125 from Yamaha (above) which I'm really stoked about but I'm having a few dilemas like the accesories, more specificly if I should get the full akrapovic system offered by Yamaha for 1.400. I'm also unsure about other things like if a quickshifter is worth it or aesthetic mods but they don't cost as much. That is why, dear motorcycle geeks I wanted to get your opinion. what accesories should I get? is the r125 a good starting motorcycle for a 16 year old trying to have fun? should I get the 2023 r125 or 2024? blue or black?
Also are there any good quality helmets you recomend as I am going to naturaly also buy gear. Should I get more than a jacket gloves and helmet? what about an airbag?
I know it's a lot of questions but I would love to hear you guys opinions.
Thanks in advance:)

Kenwood install no sound everything powers on
Hi I’m a bit of a first timer and struggling with my install of a Kenwood dmx7722dabs into my mx5.
I have read some other posts which suggest it is a factory amp not turning on so I made sure that I connected the blue/white poweantenna constant wire from the Kenwood harness to the amplifier remote turn on blue wire on the harness that I got from connects2. This is not the Bose edition with an amp.
It all works except the speakers and sound. I can hear beeps the headunit makes through the speakers.
Is it possible that I might need to switch the 12v constant yellow with the red acc ignition wire? Is it ok to try it without damaging anything if It’s wrong?
Thanks for your help in advance let me know if you need more information 🙏🏾
Thanks All!

2024.05.18 22:28 Riverbound- My Bose Soundlink Max first impressions

Holy hell this sounds good. Wide soundstage, relatively clear stereo separation despite its size, crisp audio, and pronounced bass. Definitely sounds 2-3 sizes bigger than it actually is, and blows the flex away.
At $400 it’s a luxury purchase, but in my opinion worth the money. While it obviously can’t compete with my home theater sound system, damn am I impressed.
Only one complaint. It’s simplesync compatible, however when connected to my Bose Portable Home Speaker, the Max audibly crackles. Range doesn’t impact this, so I’m hoping it’s a software issue.

2024.05.18 22:09 stevenchamp45 SoundLink flex poor quality inside vehicles

I drive a medium duty truck for work, and I use the Bose SoundLink flex to listen to music, because the radio on the truck is bad.
The only problem I've noticed, is when I'm driving the sound quality is very bad, and an open room it can get very loud and you can feel the Bass from two rooms over, the sound quality is absolutely pristine. The battery lasts a very long time even on high volume.
But when driving on the highway, I don't know if it's the adaptive sound software or what, but the music always sounds very muffled, and even at max volume it only sounds as loud as say, 30% volume in an open room, even when it's 3 ft away from me. On top of this, at about 80% volume, it loses its battery within half an hour.
I tried contacting Bose customer support, but they weren't much help, truthfully I believe their software development team needs to do some testing and areas that have large amount of white noise, or an actual vehicles; considering they make automotive speakers I don't see why this would be an issue, especially with how expensive their products are.
Does anybody have any fixes to this?

We are in the gym for an event this weekend and the sound is amazingly good. All that's visible is two Bose speakers mounted up top but there's just too much bass for those two little Bose speakers. Or is there. Anyone know for sure what this on sound system is?

2024.05.18 20:21 New_Analysis1053 Need recommendations please!

I am planning to buy a Bluetooth speaker which I want to use for: 1) Blasting music in my house 2) Playing music at house parties
I was considering buying a Bose Soundlink Revolve 2 since I've seen some people use that (INR 25-30k / USD 300-361) but it's obviously very expensive.
Based on some quick Amazon search, the other options:
1) Bang Olufsen Beosound Explore (Wireless Outdoor) at INR 20k / USD 240 2) Tribit Stormbox pro at INR 14k / USD 170
I have never heard these speakers personally and needed advice on two fronts:
1) Should I consider buying either of these speakers vs the Bose one? Has anyone used them and can help me compare? 2) Are there any other speakers I should be considering?
I am based out of India. Thanks in advance!

2024.05.18 19:39 Gileotine All-red gear. Including motorcycle. Is this a stupid idea in LA?

Hi there. I'm a new rider and I'm getting all my gear ready before I get my motorcycle. Here's a problem though, LA has bloods and crips. Since I was a kid I was told never to wear all red or all blue or all any color, and def don't put a rag in your pocket with that color (I dont know if this is all myth but I got yanked by a blood at school once who told me not to wear a red ballcap?)
Anyways, the question: I love red. Like, I really love the color red. I got a red Arai helmet and it's in candy red and it transfixes me. So I want to get a bike with some red on it, and my gear either white/red or red. Boots and gloves too.
Is this a stupid idea? Or am I overthinking the gear situation.
Edit: I may have just revealed how sheltered I was while living in LA oh god

2024.05.18 18:06 CnRhin We Were Sent to find an Ancient Weapon called Human

“Readings show that the facility is still operational. That should not be possible.” The robotic voice of Z-8 reading the analysis out to the crew of The Scav. Their multiple mechanical arms operated three different devices, multitasking with immaculate precision.
“Noted Zate, are there any lifeforms detected?” Asked Lizra, the Elyrian Captain of the vessel. She stood in the center of the room on a small pedestal that made her tall enough to see out the window, striped white and red tail swaying in thought. Outside the window was a frozen moon that housed the remnants of a crumbling pre-migration military base.
“None that appear on the scanner Captain Lizra. We hope we did not come all this way just for our mission to be futile.”
“Even if it is not here, perhaps there will be something left behind in the facility's computer systems, these pre-migration bases are always incredible to explore.”
“If there ain't nothing here, I’m gonna send a strongly worded letter to Ensign Marketh. And by strongly worded letter, I mean my fist through his stupid fucking face.” Argall growled. Being the only Induran on the crew he had grown quite annoyed that nobody could assist him with the heavy lifting during the long journey. He could barely fit within the tight confines of the control room, and his large purple form took up more space than anything else on the ship.
“Calm yourself Argall, deep breaths. All of our work shall have paid off here momentarily. Bring us down Zate.”
The ship descended towards the rocky object below and set itself down on a crumbling landing pad. The trio disembarked after Argall and Lizra donned their environmental suits. Once they reached an outer door Zate began to interface manually with the facility. But after a minute of working, they had yet to make any progress. They should have been able to open the door in seconds with such outdated security, but everything seemed unrecognizable to them.
“Captain, it seems that the facility’s computer systems have been rewritten entirely from the ground up. I do not even recognize the coding language. This could be more difficult than we first expected.”
“That can’t be right, this place is over a thousand years old. I thought you had every language from the Commons in your database?”
“We do, it seems that whoever did this, did it entirely from the ground up. We will have to break it down into binary and then organize in a way that we can…”
“There’s no lifeforms inside, just make a new door.” Argall grumbled, reeling back and smashing a large dent into the side of the facility.
“Argall no more! These old outposts are fragile! This could cause irreparable damage, not to mention compromise the structural integrity!” Lizra yelled, jumping up and trying to wrap her paws around the angry Induran’s arm. Before he could punch it again, the door hissed and swung inward.
“Oh! Excellent work Zate! I guess it wasn’t too hard for you after all.”
“It was not us who opened the door.”
“Oh… perhaps punching was the key. Good call Argall, exercising initiative in the absence of orders.”
“Of course ma'am , it just came to me naturally.”
“Lets not dwell out here any longer, in we go crew!”
The three made their way into the facility as the door closed behind them causing Lizra to jump onto Argall in surprise. The dark corridors were lit up seconds later with the hum of long dead fluorescent lights. Lining the hallways were the long expired bodies of other Elyrians. Their corpses preserved by the cold temperatures and lack of air inside. The systems started to kick back on and compressed air flooded into the installation. The dead silence within, replaced by the busy whir of machines coming to life after having been out of a job for centuries.
“Z-Zate I thought you said you couldn’t access the facility?”
“Correct, we were unable to decrypt the programming language or set up an interface. It is not us rebooting the systems.”
“Right, Argall I-I think I shall stay up here, for my own safety of course.” Lizra stated perched atop his shoulder, tail wrapping around the hulking Induran’s neck for balance. He answered her with a growl as the group continued forward. Argall accidentally bumped into one of the corpses causing it to crumble into a pile of dust and bone. They followed the blinking lights that led them through the crumbling hallways before reaching an intersection. The lights on the other end of the hallway were out and the only thing illuminated was a door to their left. Whatever was running the facility wanted them to go here.
“The lights seem to want us to go in, do you all think this is where the weapon is?"
“We are unsure captain. When we tried to interface we were actively repelled by something and we have been attempting unsuccessfully to gain access since. There is someone else in the facility, and they know we are here.”
“Lets just follow the blinking lights, and if someone else is here, then I punch them and take the weapon. They can’t be good at computers and punching.”
“I love your optimism Argall, always good to have a plan! But maybe let’s refrain from punching our host? They’ve been very welcoming thus far, I’m sure if they wanted to fight us they wouldn’t have let us in to begin with.” Lizra countered as she looked at the new glowing path before them. The old door slid open as they approached.
Inside was a vast array of dated computer equipment, hundreds of wires and tubes connected to a sleek black box in the center of the room. She had never seen a computer like that in the old textbooks she studied before this quest. As the group walked towards it, old speakers embedded into the room crackled to life.
“Welcome visitors. My name is Tic-Tac, it’s so nice to see someone again after all these years.”
“Hello…uh Tic-Tac. Thank you for letting us in. May I ask, where exactly are you?”
“You’re looking at me madam. Please refrain from touching anything in here, my interfaces are very fragile. Now can I ask what brings you here?” Lizra hopped down from Argalls shoulder and stepped up to the small black box in the center of the room, inspecting the cables and wires around it. This is what was running the facility?
“We are here for the weapon, please resist.” Argall said, cracking his knuckles.
“No no no, please do not resist! We’re all nice here. We are here looking for an ancient weapon to aid us in a conflict that threatens all of our species. Would you by chance be Human?”
The intercom made a strange noise before speaking again “Haha, no I am merely based upon a human intelligence. You must have come here for my friend… hmm I guess we never got to discuss that new name yet. Regardless, he is here. But before we go any further I have to ask why you sought us out specifically.”
“Well you see Mr. Tic-Tac, we were given the quest to find a weapon that could change the tide of our war. We are part of a rebellion against the Galactic Core and we sent out many search parties to find anything that could help us change the tide of the battle. We are one of those parties, and we hope that you would lend your assistance to us in our time of need.”
“Unfortunately we retired from conflict many years ago. I do not think my partner would be so keen to assume a combat role again. We ended up here after an attempt to escape a life whose only purpose was war.”
“Well umm, maybe he would agree if we could talk to him? Tell him why we are fighting?”
“I am afraid that is not possible. He is currently indisposed, but if you would assist me in bringing him back to the world of the waking then he might hear you out.”
“Pardon my interruption but you have complete control over this facility. Is it not within your realm of capabilities to bring him back yourself?” Zate asked as they curiously inspected the systems around the room.
“I would if I could. I have actually been waiting for someone to stumble across this place so I could wake him. But since I do not possess a physical body it isn’t within my current means to accomplish.”
“If you do not possess a body how did you manage to construct these interfaces of yours.”
“Those that were here before you made this for me. They did not know what they were working with and they went through a great deal to communicate with me. I bided my time until I had full access to their systems to gauge their true motives. They did not have genuine intentions with us, so once they served their purpose, I had them purged from the facility.”
“So that explains why everyone here isn’t in… pristine condition." Lizra said glacing at the corpses of her people around the room. "You wouldn’t do that to us right Tic-Tac?”
“As long as you do not jeopardize my sovereignty or attempt to harm my partner.”
“Right, yea no intentions of doing that here. How can we be of assistance Mr Tic-Tac?”
“To your left you should see a cryostasis chamber, inside is my partner. It requires someone to physically release him from the outside. I’ll start the process of waking him, shouldn't be long.”
After a few minutes the chamber in the corner of the room started to get louder, finally booting back up again after a thousand years of being idle.
“Ok may the Induran please step up and release the clamps on the side?”
“How are you aware of what an Induran is? This facility was abandoned long before the Elyrian came into contact with the wider galaxy.” Zate asked the computer suspiciously.
“When you attempted to interface with my network, you opened yourself up to my own inquiry. I was able to access your memory and language databases stored within your own systems. I apologize for the violation but I was just being precautious.”
Zate did not know how to feel about how easily this program was able to bypass their security measures without them even knowing. That should not have been possible. As an Extant, they were a dispersed biological consciousness that was housed in a mechanical form. Their own internal systems should have been entirely shielded from outsider meddling. They put that aside as a note for future reference.
Argall walked forward and released the clamps that held shut the pressurized pod. Inside was a creature none of them had ever seen before. It looked more akin to an Extent than any biological creature. It reached up and pulled itself out of the pod denting the metal on either side as it did so. Once it rose to it’s feet it was nearly as tall as the Induran. Argall backed up and looked like he was ready to fight the thing in front of him.
“Calm down Induran, I do not think that would end well for any of us." Tic-Tac reprimanded before moving to the speakers in the back of the room and speaking in a strange language. "All good buddy? Can you hear me?”
“Fuck you TAC, I trusted your plan! The fuck were you thinking? I was conscious for the first 5 years! Do you have any idea what they put me through?”
“What is it saying? I can’t understand it.” Lizra asked, hopping up on Argall’s back peaking over his shoulder. She was trying to hide behind his bulky form to get a look at the new creature in the room. It had thick black metal plating that blanketed its bipedal form. On its chest were many strange objects and lettering she did not recognize and beneath the armor was a tight suit that covered everything the metal plating did not. Atop it’s head was a large metal helmet with a bright orange visor covered in small hexagons that faintly glittered in the light.
“Momentarily. We are uploading a new language to your translators. This should solve the problem. I see you placed this here when I was not paying attention Tic-Tac. I would ask that you refrain from violating our systems in the future.” Zate scolded and a second later the other two were able to understand the strange creature's speech.
Tic-Tac’s voices lit up the intercom in the room once again. “Good to hear your voice again 909, you know I don’t like being called TAC anymore.”
“And I said not to call me 909 again, so we’re even. Who are these ones? How long has it been? They didn’t find us, did they?” His voice sounded frantic as he got to the end of his questions.
“Take it slow, you're very disoriented right now. These ones are friendly. And no they didn’t find us, we’re safe.”
“Hi Mr 909?”
“Don’t call me that.”
“Right, Mr Human then? We are here seeking a weapon to help us in a fight against a terrible enemy. Your friend Tic-Tac told us that you are what we came for and may be convinced to aid us in this fight?”
“No, I don’t do that anymore. I’m done fighting other people’s wars. Just get me off this rock.”
“But sir you don’t understand, The Core they-they’re tyrannical. They abuse the countless races of the Outer Belt, take our resources, they're-”
“Unless their goal is to exterminate every beach in the known galaxy to stop me from enjoying my retirement, I’m not interested.”
“Apologies everyone, but I am afraid I have some bad news. I’ve detected a slipspace rupture nearby, and it’s headed in our direction. The ship you arrived in, does it have any weapons?”
“Oh that was fast. Well, it's kind of funny, you see we were hoping to find one here, so uh… no, not really.”

2024.05.18 17:51 Hotirishdog Do I need a full leather suit

I'm new to motorcycles and I don't know if I need to get a full leather suit, I live in a town so I wouldn't be going double the speed limit all the time. Maybe going to the mountains sometimes and probably never to the track would armoured clothes be enough. I have a big problem with uncomfortable clothes so getting in and out of a full leather suit every time I want to ride would be a big deterrent for ridding and the uncomfort during the ride would make it harder to focus. I'd still wear good gloves a good helmet and probably good boots but I don't know about full leather

Motorcycle Helmet
When I was getting pictures, I forgot to put my tinted visor on. It was my prom and I didn’t have my bike at the time. Could somebody please put a tinted visor on my helmet? Thank you!

2024.05.18 14:19 Alwaysknowyou [PC][2000s-2013] A cyberpunk game with racing elements, killing enemies with a sharp disk; the game about the future

Platform(s): I played it on PC
Genre: I am not sure. I only remember there were probably racing parts in the game, but only a part. In other parts, we could run and fight our enemies, even a bit parkour
Estimated year of release: 2000s-2013. The graphics were definitely not like Half-Life/1990s, I am guessing the game was around after 2005. Maybe around 2008-2009. But it's the best I can say. I am sure it's between the 2000s and 2013.
Graphics/art style: 3D game. Everything was in dark colors, mostly black, but lights were mostly blue, and maybe red? I believe the game had mostly a third-person camera. It had elements of cyberpunk theme, maybe the game was cyberpunk themed. The graphics were super realistic for me, but it's probably not nowadays
Notable characters: I think this is the best part. The main character was all black, but like elastic metal? You know, something like cyberpunk costume? (*I think my drawing explains better) And got blue lights on his helmet! About his body, I am not sure, but maybe it got lights on costume too
Also, there was a main protagonist who was like the main character, I'd even say identical, but those lights on his helmet were red, as maybe lights on his body
Notable gameplay mechanics: I have a thought that there was a thing about some big disks in the game (the drawing*), I maybe remember that we had it to throw at our enemies throughout the game?
I don't remember correctly, but the game maybe had racing mechanics sometimes, and we could ride cyber-motorcycles (*the drawing)?
Plus, i do remember that sometimes on the walls were blue arrows (*the drawing 2) that we could run on them/wall like in Prince of Persia. And, if I remember correctly, sometimes there were red, and we couldn't run on them until we did something to turn them blue (or by killing each enemy in a certain place?)?
Other details: I remember in the beginning of the game, probably in the cutscene, some character walked to the main character and said, "Welcome to the Internet."

2024.05.18 11:40 SeriousAsparagi Stuck between Audio-Technica ATH-R70x & Audio-Technica ATH-R70x for gaming, open to other recommendations

Been using some cheap Bose speakers I bought about 5 years ago, and want something a little more immersive. I heard both of these have a pretty good soundstage, but I know pretty little about headphones, if anyone has any recommendations, I have a $350 budget, don't care about Bluetooth, open to second-hand I'll get an amp as well if recommended.
Edit: Meant between Audio-Technica ATH-R70x & beyerdynamic DT 900 PRO X

2024.05.18 06:33 Cuddha Need help identifying some speakers.

Need help identifying some speakers.
My wife found two sets of speakers and there are no markings on them to help identify them. I was wondering if anyone could help me. The larger set look very similar to Bose 901s. But again, there is nothing that shows other than the design. There are 8 speakers inside. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
