an awful lotta games that I've been playing have had rhythm games added recently, either permanently or part of an event, and I'm wondering how you can enjoy the background visuals in the heat of the moment
personally, I'm staring right at the incoming notes, even on a song I know and have played before I can't keep my eyes off of them or else I know I'll mess up, so I feel like I never get to enjoy whatever fun animations they make for the song on the rest of the screen
I think the only exception to this has been the Theatrhythm games; the usual stages have the notes displayed directly on top of the animations of the characters fighting or moving overworld, or on top of the music video, vs something like Fortnite Festival where I only get a chance to look at the band playing when I get a break

 The History Of Ye: The year of 1977, a year to remember. A superstar was born during this year. The young Kanye West, now known as Ye, was birthed into this world by Donda and Ray in the ATL. Ye may have grown up lower middle class but he had a great background with his mother, Donda, being a well-spoken, charismatic, and wise woman, and his father, Ray, being a Black Panther Journalist. Unfortunately, the two parents would split when Ye was around the age of 3, and Donda got Ye to move with her to Chi-Town. Ye would go to a variety of places with his mother, even places like China! Young Ye was a great student and characterized as charismatic and outspoken by his teachers. He would graduate in the 90’s, where his career really began to spring. Ye always wanted to be a producer, so he took the opportunity and ran with it. He first started making beats for local guys, and then bigger artists like Common, and even bigger ones like Jay-Z, starting in the early 2000’s. However, Ye also wanted to be a rapper, even being in a group called the Go Getters, but no label wanted to sign him. That was until a reluctant Dame Dash of Roc-A-Fella signed him to a record deal. Things weren’t always sunshine and rainbows though, as Ye would get into a car crash in early 2003, making his jaw wired shut. This did not stop the determined Ye however, ash he pushed through and dropped his hugely successful and influential The College Dropout. Then he did it again with Late Registration, and again with Graduation….but this streak of happiness and well health for Ye would snap with the death of his mother, Donda…. Everything began to go downhill from there. That along with the break up of his fiancée inspired his fourth album, 808’s & Heartbreak. Ye would start spazzing out, however, even crashing the MTV VMA’s to interrupt a young Taylor Swift. This caused Ye to go into exile, but not for long, as the release of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy bringing the world back to him, and then Watch The Throne with close friend Jay-Z. He even started his own label during this time, G.O.O.D. Music, and got married to the love of his life Kim, having 4 kids in North, Saint, Psalm, and Chicago. He went on to drop Yeezus, experimental and influential, and The Life Of Pablo, a modern piece of art. His mental health would begin to spiral again however. He had to cancel a whole tour and was medicated at UCLA, where Ye was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. He would embrace the diagnosis however, dropping Ye, Kids See Ghosts with close friend Kid Cudi, and several other executively produced albums in 2018 all while under a controversy revolving around slavery and the president. After this period, Ye completely gave his life to Jesus, forming the Sunday Service Choir and scrapping a whole album to reshape it as Jesus Is King. Ye was finally mentally clear….until he and Kim started having issues. Ye would drop Donda in 2021, dedicated to his deceased mother, another gospel album, but behind the scenes, Kim wanted a divorce, and started hanging out with other guys like Pete Davidson. 2022 would be the worst year of his life, scrapping a whole album he already “dropped”, hanging out with weirdos and creeps, and then the straw that broke the camel’s back….becoming publicly antisemitic, praising Hitler on live media. This snapped his sponsorship deals in half, including the generational Adidas deal. All hope was lost….until Ye found a new wife in Bianca, and a real friend in Ty Dolla $ign, who dug Ye out from his grave and released a collab album with him, Vultures 1. There may be a Vultures 2 and 3 one day, but Ye’s current state of mind is unknown, with rumors of an old demon coming back on his shoulders. Will Ye find more help? Will Ye spaz again? We will know soon for certain…

Hey everybody, me and my friends make Movie like-gta videos. I was wondering what’s a good software to upgrade our vids ? I’m thinking for one of our vids having an intro similar to an old 80’s or 90’s movie where the cameras kinda going around the city (I know I have to get that footage first) and adding some background music to it, like Tom petty haha. Does anybody have software recommendations for something like this ? I’ve only ever used the youtube editor but I’m open to learning and paying for something a bit more complex. I lived! I’m at home now eating lukewarm mashed potatos and beef gravy which is actually delicious. Gonna share what it was like so others can read and feel less nervous.
I got to the Oral Surgery Office which is about an hour away from me, had to do a urine test (pregnancy test) and took a quick nervous poop (if you know you know). Then the nurse began hooking up a blood pressure cuff and all the other instruments, even gave me a blanket! She was so nice and answered all my questions and made sure to give me plenty of information before hand.
Then the anesthesiologist came in and he was super chill, he mentioned in passing that he was also currently working in a hospital operation room as another job so it made me feel really safe knowing he had so much experience. I asked them to put the IV in my arm rather than my hand and honestly that was the worse part of the procedure. Unfortunately I also wouldn’t be able to keep my teeth after but I’d be able to see and hold them.
The nurses and the anesthesiologist went back and forth for a while, doing some medical records stuff, im sure as the words they were using were unfamiliar. They had to leave the room a couple of times too.
Then the anesthesiologists came back into the room, asked my full name, date of birth, and what procedure we were doing (to make sure I am of sound mind and aware), I did so and remember saying “my last words are feel free to use all the novocain you want”. The anesthesiologists then warned that he was injecting medication to make me feel relaxed. Medicine didn’t hurt at all going it, it felt actually cold in a refreshing. The anesthesiologist then asked me to move my butt back in the chair a little, I told him I couldn’t because I couldn’t move and that’s the last thing I remember. (I assume he might have positioned me after I was out and wasn’t expecting me to go down so fast).
I woke up about two hours late water gauze in my mouth and NO PAIN!! I apparently was even chatty after waking up, singing along to the music they had playing in the background and trying to talk to everyone. Nurse had to readjust my gauze at one point because I started to choke on it a little. Got to see and hold my teeth which are much bigger than you expect they are. Then I was walked out of the office and went home!
So far the pain I’ve experienced today was been at the highest a 4-10. That was unfortunately because it was an hour drive to get back to my town, in which the drugs began to wear off rapidly but ice and some drugs as soon as I got home helped a lot. I then drank some water and took an amazing three hour nap. When you sleep after you may wake up in a puddle of blood (my chin had alot of blood on it but totally worth it for that amazing nap!
Overall the experience was fine! Don’t be worried the stress beforehand is definitely worse. You will be sore after, but it’s less of a sharp pain and more off a you feel like you just stubbed your toe really bad pain (if your face was your toe)
I rate the experience 10/10 so far! Just definitely try to take pain meds after as soon as you can with some ice and you’ll be fine

Found my iPad Pro (17.3.1) had 0% battery when I got home, I didn’t take it with me. Shows most use was by Apple Music in background since yesterday. The thing is, I don’t use Apple Music on my iPad and honestly forgot it’s installed there. I don’t have any widgets that run Apple Music and I have background refresh disabled. Anyone else seeing this? Thinking it’s a bug with iOS or Apple Music.

3. I have the kindest heart. I see life through rose colored glasses, some may say. I just believe in the good in people. I think most people are good and those that are bad are redeemable. Whether someone is ultra religious, a different political affiliation, good, bad, ugly, whatever...I believe in getting to know them for myself and making my own decision of them. As a friend I always stick by my friends, no matter what. Friends in my life are friends for life, even if we lose touch. There is a downside to all this...it's that sometimes people take advantage of me. I don't care. When confronted with the choice to be loving or to be cruel or apathetic, I will always choose loving.
4. I make people laugh. Comedy and jokes have always been a part of me. Maybe it's the fact that I'm a middle child and craved attention or the fact that I grew up in a city where I had to be quick on my feet, but I love to make people laugh. This is best done in person but there can be humor over the internet too. :)
5. I don't take myself too seriously. I'm a talented person in my field and it's important for me to let go of my ego. There isn't a single person that I can't learn from and at my best I'm always open to listen to people's opinions of me or my creative work.
6. I see beauty in everyone, including you. If you hadn't guessed by now, I'm a photographer. I'm into portraits and I value my connection with people one-on-one and I think that's what makes me a talented portrait photographer. I often hear people talk about the things they hate about themselves but try to reflect to them their true beauty. The beauty that was always there and that they need to be reconnected to.
7. I'm culturally Latino. My parents are from El Salvador, but I was born and raised in DC. I have the experience of being born into a family of immigrants and understand the duality of living in two different worlds. While Spanish was my first language, it is not what I consider to be my native tongue. While I understand all Spanish, all my Spanish is food related.
8. I've done the self work. It's true. I'm not a man that punches walls, gets drunk and cries, will cheat on you, lie to you or a myriad of other things that toxic people do. I am new to the youtube shorts thing, I do enjoy scrolling though but I cannot tell you how many times I have to click "dont recommend channel" because of the background music. Specifically ANY video with the background song "Tell your girlfriend" -Lay Bankz. I cannot describe enough how annoying this song and any video with this song is. As the title asks, what are some things that you checked out and loved because of a re:View? Movies, shows, and metal bands welcome!
For me, I would say my top 3 are Re-Animator, The Return of the Living Dead, and UHF. If I had to rank them: Re-Animator and Return are both super closely tied for first with perhaps Return eking it out; it's so good, I've seen it enough times to use it as background noise by this point haha. Tho I haven't seen it as much, I love Re-Animator to death (corny word choice intended) and will quote "plagiarist" whenever it's even somewhat applicable! Both are among my favorite horror movies, 80's movies, and in my overall favs. UHF, while before my time as a subject matter, is super well written and just a fun movie, great to decompress to. Even the jokes that I needed more context for (thanks Jay and Josh for that) were enjoyable both with and without. Plus, I've always enjoyed Weird Al's music since I was a kid, so I was def primed to enjoy the movie I feel.
Bonus: What are people sleeping on that you feel would shine in a re:View? An Albert Pyun follow up with Nemesis (at least the first one) would go hard and Split Second with Rutger Hauer is interesting and a good watch (both 1992 sci-fi flicks funnily enough), more people should give it a shot.

Notes: This is more of a venting but I need advice post. Also a lot of story telling for background info.
TLDR; My friend/crush hasn't responded to my texts for 2 weeks after he said he missed me. He's been online but is leaving me on delivered. Everything has gone positively and perfect up until now. And I am nervous for the worst case scenario. What do I do?
I (20'sF) have been friends with this guy (20'sM) for 5 years. We have a lot in common. From religion to music to overall interests. We can agree on a lot. I had a huge crush on him when we went to school. But he had rejected me because he didn't want a relationship. In which he has stuck to for the 5 years I've known him. After school he joined the military and I'd hear from him once or twice every couple of months. Which was okay because it gave me time to relieve my crush on him. But overall he was the ideal guy, I find him highly attractive, super intelligent, and overall a great person.
I never truly got over the crush, but I just let it sit in the back of my head.
We both went on with our lives, I had my first boyfriend. But it never worked out. But last summer he came home and asked if I wanted to go out. So I was excited to agree to it. We spent all day together, just talking about random stuff and catching up on life. He asked me to hang out again the next day so we went to a movie. It all went fairly well, it just felt like we were reconnecting and we became stronger friends.
After he left I went on with my life as he went on with his. I had gone out on one date with a former classmate from high school. And it didn't work out because there wasn't a connection. But when November came around, my friend had text me and asked if he should come home. In fact, his reasoning of coming home was to see his family and because he had missed me.
We had only talked 2-3 times a month between him leaving and him coming home again.
He came home in December and he had text me to make plans. He wanted to go ice skating and so he took me for the first time. He had insisted on putting my skates for me because I was struggling. And he wanted to hold my hand so he could protect me from falling. After that we went to a mall and he bought me a candle (and one for himself). Then we went to a pho cafe and had lunch. I got to hear his fun stories from when he had pho as a kid. It was so fun just listening to him be excited about what he likes. Although he isn't a talkative guy, he's always been known to be really quiet and introverted.
Later after that, we went back to my house and spent some time talking. He found interest in my rings and asked about them. He was just sitting next to me and ASKED if he could kiss me. I have never really heard of someone asking first. But I am also inexperienced in kissing, so that explains it. We had kissed and then we went up to my room and cuddled. We just appreciated each other's presence, kissing, holding hands, laughing, playing with each other's hair, all of that.
A couple days later, I saw this car rolling up my street slowly while I was out walking my dog. It happened to be him and his parents. They knew about me and wanted to see where I lived. So I got to meet his parents. Later on, my friend would text me and ask various questions his parents had for me.
I invited him over a couple days before he left for his home. I made him dinner and we had a drink or two. After that we went to my room again to watch tv and cuddle. We basically did what we did the previous time and some other things. The next day, I was just hanging out at home and I heard a car door outside. It was my friend. He stopped by to say goodbye before he left to go home. He said bye, kissed me once more, and then got in his dad's vehicle and left.
When he got home we talked almost everyday with maybe a 3-4 day break in between talking. Which was a huge step. He'd complement me, say that he thought I was really sweet, he wished me happy birthday 4 times (yes, 4 times. He was also the first to say it), and things of that sort. I returned the complements and so on. He even joked about us getting married. Which was so sweet. We've talk about how we missed each other several times and how we can't wait to see each other again. Talked about when he'll come home and that I'd be one of the main reasons he'd come home. Everything is great. Although he didn't want a relationship until the future. Which is okay, because he has stuck to that for the years I've known him. But everything still went fairly smoothly. It feels like a fresh breath of air.
I would always ask him how he is doing. Or he'd just tell me about his day before I could even ask. If I was delayed in response, I'd always apologize and he'd say there was nothing to be sorry about. He'd constantly reassure me. Which is a great sign, friend-wise and potential-partner-wise. He is such a great guy personality wise, highly intelligent, very kind, likes to listen but is generally a quiet person, always tells the truth, has a good sense of humor, and so on. He's also always happy for me when I talk about something like a job offering or something big in my life. As I'm always happy for him when he has something exciting going on. We're always supporting each other and hoping that we're in the best shape.
All the way up until 2 weeks ago, everything went incredibly well. I have never had a guy actually treat me like this. I mean, things could still be well, but who knows.
He had texted me one morning like usual. So I responded when I was able to (maybe an hour later). And I haven't heard from him since. I get that life gets in the way or he may have to prioritize something differently. But it is unlike him to just drop out. I've occasionally noticed that he had been online. So why isn't he responding? I know well that he isn't seeing anyone. Since he sticks to his word. Plus his last words to me were: "I miss spending time with you" (we were talking about something he missed from back home and that he didn't know when he'll get to return). I texted him after not hearing from him for a week and still nothing. I am afraid he is ghosting me although I feel like he wouldn't do such thing. I just get scared of that from past experiences. So, maybe he is just busy? Maybe he has something high-priority going on? Maybe he is just being his introverted self and kinda keeping to himself? We are just friends for now so it shouldn't bother me too much. But I still get worried for him. (although when I mentioned a few years ago that I got worried for him, he had said that he hopes I didn't worry too much). I understand that it would be difficult for us to date and that maybe right now wouldn't be a good time to date since neither of us are in a position to date (we're both still trying to find a balanced routine, calm down, take care of ourselves, and navigate being adults lol. plus I am just starting in a professional workforce so I am trying to balance life with that too).

Hi everyone! I'm 19, female, from the US. I just recently came back home after finishing my sophomore year in college out of state (FINALLY), which I'm so happy about!! So much growth and things I learned, not just within the educational realm but within myself also. I'm a journalism major, so I loveeee writing long messages, and you will see it eventually when I warm up to people. I'm so passionate about a lot of topics and things, but I love communicating with others about a lot of things. Most of all, I love to understand what makes a person who they are.
Now, let's talk about why I chose penpaling: I love getting to know people. I remember my freshman year in college when I was going through a hard time finding myself and connecting with others on campus. I was homesick, and it was a hard adjustment... although my grades were excelling. I was very lonely at the time, and I always thought about doing penpaling, but I was very reluctant to do so because I was kind of scared of putting myself out there.
Funny story but I was watching the movie "You've Got Mail" my freshman year, and I loved the concept of the movie, mostly having a penpal... but it made me want to do it. I remember making a post on penpal, and I made so many connections. Although some were short-term and some were long-term, and some just fizzled out, I'm so grateful to have met a lot of people because it really helped me during a rough point in my life. Being able to talk to someone all day or twice a week, I just love having a lot of connections. But more than anything, I do want long-term penpalships, and I've had the luxury to have some, but it's understandable for friendships and, most importantly, penpalships to grow apart when it's not constant communication or just simply being busy with life. It's hard to check up, but I say all that to say I'm not shying away from short-term connections or just short convos. But I am looking for long-term penpalships.

Lately, I've been really into indie movies because of their realistic portrayal of life. It would be fun to have a movie buddy to watch Netflix online or to watch a movie together at the same time and then rate them. I keep a list of movies and shows I've watched in the past year in my notes app. I also love writing, hence this long post. I love reading, but I haven't been consistent lately because I've been busy latley. I have so much more to share about my interests and my life, but I'll save that for future penpals :)
To conclude my post, I'm looking for a penpal to talk about anything, but most of all, be each other's diary, give each other advice, talk about life! Possible topics that can consist of anything or whichever we are most comfortable with, and we can talk every day to check in or once or twice a week, it doesn't matter.
But I would love to have many connections and have daily conversations when available. Anyways, if you have gotten this far to read it, thank you! I just realized I wrote a lot mid-post 😂... but I'm throwing myself back out there again because, although I'm doing great and not lonely anymore, well at least for now, I just miss having penpals. I feel like I've made actual meaningful connections more than I have in the real world, and in a way, it might be odd, but I think it's beautiful in a way. I love how in penpalships you can get as personal or surface-level as you want. It all depends on the comfort and connection, but I look forward to getting to know my new potential penpal or penpals :) Byeee!

Hi reddit, I really need some advice. I have a good retail part-time job right now, with a company that values their workers and a store manager that is understanding and flexible with me. But... I've gotten to the point that I wish something could happen to me, an illness or violence or a freak accident, so that I could have an excuse to not come to work. When I'm at work, my chest tightens and I struggle with breathing normal. As common in retail, the downlights are so so bright and the store music is so loud and people can stand super close to me and I literally cannot explain how much it hurts. I feel like I can't complain because it's the best company I've worked with, but lately I can barely stand the environment and customers and am having regular breakdowns at work and am calling in sick for how my body physically feels and my mental state at the thought of work. My parents, mainly my dad, thinks I'm purposely being dramatic and "how will I get a real job one day if I can't handle it". I don't know what to do. I've already been lucky enough to cut down my PT hours to 10 hours a week, and on days that aren't so busy, because my manager is so nice and understanding. But it still feels too much. For a single 5 hour shift, it takes me almost two days to “recover”, I don’t even have enough brain energy to watch a movie or do any hobbies, I listen to background podcasts without actually paying attention or sit in silence and I sit in my bedroom in the dark under my blankets. I don't know what to do. I don't even know what I should be doing, job wise or at uni or tafe. I have tried so many uni degrees and don't know who I am. Is there something wrong with me?
