2024.05.15 08:52 Equivalent_Sorbet_73 Noob question regarding rare drops and GE

I'm new to osrs, just started putting more time in the game
My question is why are certain item drops so coveted if they can just be bought on grand exchange. Example: Mega Rare Drop table from Master Clue: Ankou's Leggings, and even T bow
I saw a clip of someone getting Ankou's leggings and freak out, I don't get why if you can just go on GE and buy it for a few mil. T bow is more expensive but still couldn't a few of these high ranking players afford one on GE? So why do 5,000 completes to get one?
Very noob question but genuinely don't understand this

2024.05.15 08:51 bierangtamen Biweekly Q: What Nmixx merch do you want to see next?

Okay so this question might be quite general but merchandise can include anything, whether clothing items, board games, novels (lol a Mixxtopia lore book) etc
I definitely want to get an official bag or case for the Mixxstick! Would be easier to carry around

2024.05.15 08:51 QueenDianaSpencer I know it’s bad to talk bad about parents and siblings and family in Islam …but

But what if like, say, your in laws ask you about your family? Like they corner you with questions in their own house
“what was your mother like. Why did she leave you? Why did she divorce your dad, why did she abandon you? Why did she make everyone gang up against you? How long has she she abused drugs? How could she possibly do such vile things to you? Wow that’s despicable”
I’m so honest to the point it’s sick and I don’t know how to make boundaries but I feel guilty for exposing the ugly truths of my family members. I felt cornered and pressured by my in laws and I feel disgusted of myself and guilty. I didn’t purposely paint a bad picture, I was just saying the raw truth and each question they ask led me to over share.
Is this haram? How can I ask Allah to forgive me if it’s haram? The fact I feel guilty is probably allah’s way of telling me it was wrong to dish out my entire family business like that. How can I stop over sharing like an innocent idiot when my in laws ask me sensitive questions?
Will I be punished by Allah for oversharing the dirty truths I experienced growing up, about my family?

2024.05.15 08:49 Habibi19_ Advice Regarding Accident /Legal

I was involved in a car accident on Sunday, May 12th, 2024, when another driver ignored a stop sign and collided with my vehicle. The driver, who was operating a company-branded vehicle, fled the scene without stopping. I contacted the company via Facebook, and they acknowledged ownership of the vehicle and invited me to a meeting on Monday.
Despite being the victim, I went to their premises, where the dealer principal offered 0 assistance and claimed he didn't want to meet me and accused me of demanding money ( i got proof of him asking to meet) , which wasn't my intention I need my vehicle fixed and liability to be accepted from them
I stated my intention will now be to share my experience on social media, given my relatively new car (with only 7,000 km on the clock) was severely damaged. The dealer principal claimed the company wasn't liable since the accident occurred outside office hours, despite the driver being in a company vehicle and fleeing a scene.
When I asked why the driver fled the scene, he refused to answer. I also requested a substance abuse test, which he declined, saying he wasn't a judge ( I have necessary equipment to prove all of this)
I even asked to meet the driver and she didn't want to meet me.
After sharing my experience on HelloPeter, the company is now threatening me with legal action should i go down this road?, claiming I'm defaming them. I believe this is unfair as they isn't any right or wrong here.
she was 100% wrong for ignoring a stop street as i had right of way on a straight road my tracker even shows i stopped and was at the speed limit
They are liable for the damages to my vehicle, and my wife and 6-week-old child were also in the car."
What do you guys recommend doing moving forward?

2024.05.15 08:47 Tortastrophe Almost did myself in by forgetting that meat disappears from rock caches.

Playing on Interloper, just passed Day 70. I'm trying to get the Tales done for the first time so I'm planning to start Signal Void. Off I go from Mystery Lake to Forsaken Airfield. I get out there, get the walkie, start the quest up. I have enough food on me to get back, around 40 cat-tails at this point. It's blizzarding in FA so I don't hunt there. I decide to head back on the first clear day. In hindsight, I should have hunted.
Anyway, the trip back is not really eventful but I am not doing a good enough job of keeping my condition up. I am definitely pushing too hard to get back to ML faster. Thinking about it now, I don't even know why I was in such a big hurry. I pushed all the way through Broken Railroad (which I have not looted yet) and things are not going too bad, but the Muskeg is windy as heck and my condition drops below 10%. I have to use a stim to get to the derailed train so I can warm up and recover a bit. I use my last birch bark tea and rest a few hours with the fire burning. I wake up, make a couple of coffees and head off to Camp Office in ML. But it's still pretty dang cold (despite me being at +23 gear). My condition slips back below 10% and now I've got a wolf trailing me. I'm not worried about the wolf really but my condition being so low definitely had me focusing on pushing back to camp office. I get back and at this point I have a couple of cat tails left but no other food. The only food in Camp Office is a couple of ruined dog foods, and I don't want to roll the dice with food poisoning when I'm already under 10%.
So I reluctantly decide that I will eat a piece of bear meat. I am about halfway to Cooking 5 at this point so I still have to be mindful even with cooked food. Surely the 1% intestinal parasites won't get me. Well... turns out I didn't have to worry about the parasites. The 30 KG of bear I left in the rock cache outside Camp Office has of course, disappeared because it dropped to 0 condition. Whoops. This is even funnier to me because I almost never bother with a rock cache for anything. I'll just leave the stack of meat in the snow. And this is why! So... I have no choice, gotta try the Dog Food. I manage to get food poisoning from BOTH cans. Luckily I have medical supplies so I take a reishi tea and then sleep. Get up after my needed 10 hours and obviously mission 1 is food. But my condition is still hovering around 10%.
It's not storming out, but there's no deer about, no ptarmigans nearby. I decide my best bet is my two fishing tip-ups in the nearby fishing huts. I take my coal and some sticks out there. I check the first hut and... line breaks. Well, okay. Check the second hut... at this point it is getting dark, so I am pretty sure I am spending the night in this hut and I need to get lucky here. Thankfully, this line does not break. I catch a big fish, one I've never seen before (the high-level tackles can give you different fish) worth almost 2000 calories. So obviously I cook it up. At that point there's no way I'm chancing a return trip across the lake, since I have enough coal to get through the night. I keep fishing and thankfully this line manages to net me a few more fish before it snaps. By then it's time to sleep anyway. I trek back to Camp Office the next morning with about 1400 calories of fish to get me to my next destination. I stopped there, and have not yet decided my next destination. I might try to hunt the deer near the dam or in Ravine, since my condition is still low and I don't want to continue with the Lost Signal quest until I'm healthier.
So yeah anyway if you read all that, congrats you are also a Long Dark addict like myself. A bit of a harrowing tale, but also I feel like it's not very uncommon for any of us that play. Most of my deaths in this game are user error leading to bad luck, or vice versa. In this instance I made one questionable choice (leaving FA) and that fed into another (passing through BR rather than stopping) which led me to bad choices (how to feed myself back in ML because my bear meat is gone). As I am reminded every time I travel there, it's called "The FAR territory" for a reason. In the end I was lucky enough to survive so... we'll see how I screw it up next.
TLDR: Return from a long excursion almost dead, 30 KG of bear meat decayed and vanished in a rock cache. Horror, chaos, etc.

2024.05.15 08:47 Anthony22377 I lost twice at battle n. 195, any tips?

In my previous runs I was lucky enough to hatch a Latios with Quiver Dance, which is an insane monster since it also learns Stored Power from the beginning. It let me breeze though most of the game, but when I got to the last rival battle (195/200), her Boss Mega Rayquaza totally destroyed me. Setupping Latios in its face (or in Tyranitar's one) is too hard, and even if I manage to do so and OHKO it, it would just revive thanks to the Reviver Seed and all the Berries and counterattack with Outrage. The only Fairy type I found in my last run was Whimsicott, which wasn't the best one since it was too frail and the opponent also carried Hurricane and Flamethrower (I stupidly overlooked a Boss Primarina, but I don't know if it would be the good answer). Gholdengo wasn't capable to do anything either. So, my question is: how could I beat that damn thing? Which Pokémon should I focus on catching before I get to that point of the game? Where are they found? Which strategy should I follow? It's kinda frustrating to get so close to the end of the Classic Mode of the game just to be totally wrecked twice... Thanks to everyone willing to help.

2024.05.15 08:46 F2P-are-mooches Donation issue in my clan caused by F2P cucks

Most of the people in my clan are hard working citizens who like to play clash of clans during their free time but recently we recruited a few F2P bums who are actually decent at the game. Their lack of donations often runs off new clan mates who get frustrated seeing others playing and requesting while their clan castle stays empty. Also these guys tend to be online more than the average clanmate which I assume is because they either don’t work or definitely don’t work enough. I have three questions about how you guys would handle F2P mooches like this in your clan.
My first question. Is there a way I can convince the F2P cucks to get a job or pick up another job? Someone could spend just a couple hours on a weekend doing door dash and have the money for the gold pass and a nice sack of gems. There really isn’t any excuse for grown adults to constantly mooch off clan mates when they can just work 30 minutes a month to get the $7 for the gold pass. How would you convince clan mates to become contributive members of society? Heck even if they went and held up a sign at least they would be spending the money on something that benefits the world instead of booze or whatever else corner bums buy.
My second question is in regards to if I can’t get the F2P bums to work. Do you think it would be better to cut the F2P cucks loose that refuse to be productive? It’s not like these guys are crazy good they’re just better than average. I’m thinking that replacing them with clan mates who actually give back is the best idea. Or maybe just tell them they need to use raid medals if they won’t donate?
My last question is if you guys are down to start a culture war (obviously nonviolent) against the F2P mooches. It seems like their constant whining and absurd demands are never ridiculed by those of us that have above room temp IQs. I’m quick to call them out but I think a lot of people are too scared to voice their opinions because the F2P cucks are such a vocal minority. They appear to be more powerful than they actually are. I’ve seen soy boys who do pay that take the side of the bums and I think it is out of fear. I don’t see how else a hard working clash consumer could put up with the constant nonsense of the F2P mooches. Don’t be afraid of the F2P cucks because in the end the game revolves around those of us who actually keep the game going. Let’s let our voices be heard and stand up peacefully to these bums and tell them we are tired of their crap!

2024.05.15 08:46 DreaSeasYew I wouldn't agree to cover for my roommate when she killed her ex in our living room, so her and her mom made my life a living hell before I was unexpectedly forced to leave behind both my pets & everything I owned when filling an eviction when he died and kept it from me. How can I fight this?

Before I moved in to that house, my roommate was a fairly good friend because she was close to my ex who had recently passed from a heart condition. We got close while grieving his passing and felt a responsibility to help when we could. I had blessings coming in by the multitude and asa Buddhist I must give to receive or lose even more than having. She fell back into active addiction and since she put her home in her mom's name during her divorce 3-4 years prior, her mom was threatening to kick her out if changes weren't made because she has been covering all the taxes and living expenses of her and her then boyfriend, who lived with her at that time. I offered her a job working for me and offered to help with bus fare and provide lunch on days she worked. Her relationship was getting pretty toxic and she worked 2 days, asked to be advanced for 4 more days she never worked, and stopped answering my messages entirely. It out the blue 2 months later she reached out and I told her I was moving out because my lease wasn't getting renewed and had to pick where I wanted to move to and fast. She told me she wanted him out and was going to get a TPO so he couldn't fight her on leaving and wanted to be able to sell his tools and things as"revenge for the abuse she suffered". I didn't agree with that but agreed to support her and her keep her safe. She begged me to move in to help reinforce him needing to stay away. I ignorantly accepted and moved in to her 2nd bedroom. The 2nd day there we sat down and hashed out the details with her mom who at the time said "sounds like you ladies know what you're doing so I'll leave you to it." She let her mom come by every day it seemed like but the home was "good thing she's not your landlord or we'd be screwed!" After her ex stayed away a while she got bored or lonely, not quite sure which. She tracked him down and has him over while I was working one night. I was furious as he JUST burned his friends house down to the ground and caught him trying to pour my diffuser oils on paper and they had burn marks on them like he wanted to set my room in fire. I told her I wanted nothing to do with her being around him and want happy that he was there. So he stole my house key while sleeping. No matter how many times I asked, I couldn't get them to give me another one after that. That led to me having to stay at hotels I would walk to when I couldn't get inside and had only 5 or 6 hours before my next double shift. One day coming home she stopped him walking away from the house as we were pulling up so she pulled up next to him and invited him over. I got mad and went inside after pulling up to the house and packed a bag to go stay with my boyfriend who I had to make leave after she asked him to move in too but we went with it and wasn't one of the big problems. I feel asleep early and woke up to ask kinda of messages about her not narcaning him but thinks she should. She thought he might not be breathing but then sent memes and made some jokes. This man couldn't stand opiates, he hated her doing them and was the heart of what they broke up over. He despised them and wouldn't have willing done fentanyl when you couldn't get him to take a Vicodin after pulling his wisdom teeth. He was on life support for 4 days and his family took him off when time he was brain dead from losing oxygen for so many hours. She was a licensed nurse. She knew what to do and how to help him. She said so many times. She's proud she did it and that terrified me. Not enough to destroy my spiritual livelihood and lie and cover up such serious violations. Her mom called me twice during the week he was on life support and once after. 2 days after I refused the last time to give the story of him being on drugs already, her Mom busted into my room and screamed at me demanding for me wake up and come to the living room immediately. She told me I was to get out immediately because I broke in when I was locked out and used my bedroom window to get in and left the house unsecured 2 times that she found when she came by to "check on things". I knew that's not how things in the real world go so I just avoided her and paid my rent as usual. Turns out earlier that day she went and filled for an eviction and had worked out with her daughter how to hide it. She was to remove all notifications and not mention anything so I would keep paying and wouldn't take my belongings and she could make money or keep them if she wanted like she got to do with her ex's things. She has most everything he owned on marketplace 24 hours after he passed. Online the court even notes that "service made to: adult female roommate" and labeled it "successful service" even though she was operating with a huge conflict of interest and nobody questioned it. I lost my job as she was hired by me to transport me back and forth. I couldn't afford hotels very long. I lived in abandoned houses. I'm back in hotels on vouchers now. I'm working and saving for a car to get a better job and get around. I got my cats back from her 6 months after but with wings and scabs on the one she didn't like. Obviously she abused her and I had to pay her to give them back in that condition. My other cat is pregnant but an indoor cat so I guess she let her out anyways. I was sent a message that my things that were left would be placed at the road at a specific time and told to come get what I wanted it it was going to the trash. When I showed up I was meet with police and her video recording me and my helpers in our faces taunting me about being on welfare and wanted to know where my free lawyer was because I would need one when she sues me for storage fees when I was refused the ability to retrieve my belongings 4 times prior. I set up mediation and she started and then ended it 10 minutes in. Nothing has been done about the murder. I still have all the proof and evidence. As well as witnesses. I feel like they are getting away with murder AND so much more. I was left without so much as a cell phone or transportation. I slept in streets. I have trauma from this crap and I'm overwhelmed with what to even to after her for. There's nothing legal about any of this whole situation. At one point when I was allowed to get a few things but not much, her mother drive right beside me while I carried my things tormenting me and laughing at me for being homeless and poor because "i was learning who I was f*ing with and getting the consequences for it". She literally said "bet you wish you would change your story now, didn't Cha?" NOBODY HAS EVEN TAKEN A STATEMENT FROM ME!! there's no story told as of now. Am off this was done preemptively. And no lawyers claim to take care like mine. Where the heck do I turn then? Am I just left to accept this because they have money and were able to take all mine? I'm in Ohio btw. This was September of 23

The Great Debate: Legalizing Cricket Betting — A Game Changer or Moral Maze?
https://preview.redd.it/9xfrbp58ej0d1.png?width=350&format=png&auto=webp&s=b69e977dd2cd903814084b28f82280f343f9c603
Hey there, fellow cricket fanatics! Today, I’m diving into a topic that’s been buzzing around the boundary: the legalization of cricket betting. Strap in, because we’re about to unravel this debate together!
Cricket — a sport that ignites passions, sparks rivalries, and captivates millions around the globe. From the thunderous roar of the crowd to the nail-biting finishes, every match is a rollercoaster ride of emotions. But what if we could add another layer of excitement to the game? That’s where cricket betting comes into play. The mere thought of placing bets on our favorite teams or players sends a shiver down our spines. But should it be legalized? That’s the million-dollar question.

Online Cricket Betting IDs: A Ticket to the Action

Imagine this: you’re sitting at home, eyes glued to the screen as your beloved team battles it out on the field. With just a few taps on your device, you could be placing bets left, right, and center, thanks to your very own online cricket betting ID. It’s like having a front-row seat to the action, with the added thrill of putting your money where your mouth is. But is it all fun and games, or are we treading on dangerous ground?

Cricket Betting Exchange: Where Fans Become Players

Enter the world of cricket betting exchanges — a virtual marketplace where fans come together to buy, sell, and swap bets like seasoned traders. It’s not just about predicting the outcome of the match; it’s about engaging with fellow enthusiasts, sharing insights, and experiencing the highs and lows of the game together. But amidst the frenzy of buying and selling, are we losing sight of the true spirit of cricket?

Deciphering IPL Cricket Betting Odds: The Ultimate Challenge

Ah, the IPL — a spectacle like no other, where the stakes are high and the competition fierce. But what if we could up the ante even further with some strategic bets? That’s where IPL cricket betting odds come into play. From analyzing team form to predicting player performances, it’s a game of skill, strategy, and a hint of luck. But as we immerse ourselves in the world of odds and probabilities, are we forgetting about the real winners and losers of the game?

The Moral Quandary: Balancing Thrills with Responsibility

Now, let’s address the elephant in the room — should cricket betting be legalized? On one hand, proponents argue that legalization could bring about much-needed regulation, curb illegal betting activities, and generate revenue for the sport. But on the other hand, critics raise concerns about the potential for addiction, corruption, and the erosion of the game’s integrity. It’s a dilemma that pits the thrill of the game against the values we hold dear.

My Two Cents: A Fan’s Perspective

As a die-hard cricket fan myself, I can’t deny the allure of cricket betting. The adrenaline rush, the sense of camaraderie — it’s intoxicating, to say the least. But I also recognize the need for caution. We must strike a balance between embracing the excitement of the game and safeguarding its integrity. It’s a fine line to walk, but one that’s worth exploring.

In Conclusion: Navigating the Path Ahead

So, where do we go from here? The debate rages on, with passionate arguments on both sides of the aisle. But one thing’s for certain — cricket betting is here to stay. Whether it’s through online cricket betting IDs, betting exchanges, or IPL cricket betting odds, the thrill of the game is undeniable. But as we embark on this journey, let’s remember to bet responsibly, respect the spirit of the game, and keep the love for cricket alive and kicking.

2024.05.15 08:45 MiguelitoStoom What was your mental shift?

Been lurking on these streets for a while now and have seen a lot of stories about how the quit has been going within the 0-3 month range.
I’ve had the weird heart palpitations, low energy, obscure “weird feelings”, random overwhelming anxiety.. and yet I struggle to put the pipe down for good. I’ve had nicotine as a steady companion in my life since I was 18 (34 now) in the form of skoal mint pouches>nicorette>zyn, and have quit for 30 days at most, but I somehow convince my self that I want/need it 10 hours after I’ve fully committed to quitting. Attempting to quit has consumed me and currently occupies more space in my head than running my company. Discipline has typically come easy to me when it involves my health and wellness.. I rarely drink, eat clean, and take exercise maybe too serious, but this damn zyn has me in a straight jacket it feels.
My question is in regard to mindset and the mental game more so than “chewing gum” as a replacement. So, what was the mental shift that took place for you to be able to just be done with this shit?
Thanks.

2024.05.15 08:45 GeoThePebble Intense lag while in front of the ship on modded moons

Is this a problem with the modded moons or some other mod messing with the game? Fps drops to like, 3, not exaggerating, when near the front of the ship. Worse: it happens if anyone is there, not just specifically me. Idk if this is the moons or not though. The moons in question are Wesley's Moons, seems to be any of them. It's obviously very problematic, especially on harder moons like Etern where Masked, Forest Keepers and Nutcrackers are literally everywhere outdoors.
Unfortunately, disabling the moons isn't an option, we find the vanilla ones insanely boring. Reasonably so, they are bland and have 2 extra copy pasted variants with different layouts. Meaning, 5 unique styles, yet 11 moons, and one of those uniques is a joke moon. Not too great... we like wesley's moons so much cause they're each unique and well designed, while still being fun to play in, sometimes hectic (like Etern), for the most part... a few are a little unfair.
Dropping to v49 again would also be annoying, seems issues keep happening from doing that. Not sure why, since it was the v49 uploads... but we noticed some weird bugs that never happened during v49 until we used previous version from steam properties. Idk.

2024.05.15 08:42 KingOnionWasTaken Returning player guide/advice?

I started playing first when I got my PS4 a few years ago. I remember how much fun I had and played it every day until I got money and could afford other games. I lost my job so I can’t buy any more games and came back to LTD and it’s rekindled my love. It’s all coming back slowly, but I had some questions?
Any other tips or advice would also be helpful

My group is nearing the end of Hither, and along the way I've written summaries of each session ("What Just Happened?"), along with interesting/funny quotes from PCs/NPCs ("Certain Things Were Said"), and a list of new characters introduced that session ("Dramatis Personae").
My intention is to write the summaries for each of the five parts of the campaign in a different format. For the Witchlight Carnival, each summary was presented in verse (my own, no machine learning shortcuts!), using the the metre and rhyming structure of various Lewis Carrol poems.
I'd like to share my summaries/poems with you all here, for posterity, and in the hope you'll find them entertaining.
For reference, the players are:
NOTE: Lewis Carroll was known to hide secret messages in his poems. I've done the same, revealing the campaign's big twist in one of the poems below. None of my players have picked up on it.

Part I: Welcome to the Witchlight

What Just Happened? (in the style of Jabberwocky)
’Twas twilight when the carnival Did open wide two golden gates, And those with tickets did arrive, Seeking things they had misplaced.
One harengon of curious size, A kobold with a slithy gait, An owlet who possessed two eyes As wide as Annam’s dinner plates.
Yet are we three or are we four? Let’s add vibrations rarefied: A Witchlight hand here to ensure That every guest is Satyrs-fied!
Enter now and taste the sounds, Feel these colours, smell those sights! Kaleidoscopic fun abounds This synaesthesiac’s delight!
Yet where’s the drama? Where’s the tension? Certainly we’ve had a switch (At least in here there is no mention Of that cad von Zarovich).
Instead let’s race a giant snail, Eat candied mushrooms by the pound, Or listen to a gnome assail The tightness of your mother’s gown.
Yet hark! A misadventure glum! Those not heroes please give berth! The best laid plans of love undone By Tasha’s wild unruly mirth
These mirrored halls! This desperate task, To find a luckless paramour A sweet-toothed lass with porcine mask That you could swear you’ve seen before…
’Twas twilight when the carnival Did open wide two golden gates And those with tickets did arrive, Now guided by the wiles of fate.
Dramatis Personae
Arix Specklefoot, a sweet-toothed owlin Holafina, a curiously short harengon Skerrek Tirael, a slithy kobold Sylenos, a cosmic satyr Nicholas Midnight, elderly goblin ticketmaster at the Witchlight Carnival Candlefoot, a mime and not by choice Rubin Sugarwood, a lovesick halfling Ween Sundapple, his laugh-sick paramour Glorange Turple, a poetry gnome
Certain Things Were Said
“I am worried about your ability to sense vibrations that I cannot.” - Skerrek Tirael
“Tymore, goddess of good fortune! Look well upon Shellymoo this day!” - Holafina
“Hate to say it, man, but that gnome really insulted your mother.” - Sylenos
“Snacks?” - Arix Specklefoot

Part II: Lost and Found

What Just Happened? (In the style of The Walrus and the Carpenter )
"The time has come," the Satyr said, "To talk of many things: Of poems—and props—and Jeremy Plum— Of crowns and pixie kings— And why things here keep getting lost— And what this pig-girl means."
"But wait a bit," the Owlin cried, "Before our minds do meet, For some of us are pretty spooked, And I would like a treat!" "No hurry!" said the Satyr, And kicked up cloven feet.
The Owlin and the Kobold Were walking close at hand, They smiled like anything to see The gates of Pixie Land. "If we could only stay a while,” They said, "it would be grand!"
The Satyr sighed so sulkily, Because he thought that Plum Had got no business to be there When all was said and done. (“It's rude of him," the Kobold said, "To try and spoil our fun!")
"Oi, Satyr," said the pixie king, "You've had a pleasant run! Should you be getting back to work?” But answer came there none And this was scarcely odd, because He had real beef with Plum.
Now Arix made a hamster friend Who offered up some clues. The others tried the riding-pug: A pleasant thing to do! (“The pug is fine," the Rabbit said, "But he’s no Shellymoo.”)
"How nice of you to come!” said Plum, "You all are oh-so kind!" Puddlemud said nothing as His teeth began to grind. The Owlin and the Kobold cheered: “That was our FAVORITE ride!”
“A wooden crown," fair Jexim said, Is what we need to come Our way along with golden paint For some un-princely sum.” The others stared, confused, and said: “Now where did YOU come from?”
‘Twas then the party dared approach The famous Mystery Mine Where psychedelic spectacles Broke the Satyr’s mind. (“I really wish,” Zephixo sighed, “You wouldn’t ride while high”).
Next Dirla pulled all kind of things Out of his wagon/portal: Bottles, bunnies, candlesticks, A shining blade of vorpal (Incidentally, there’s a word That kind of rhymes with purple).
“If you put your mind to it And searched for long enough, Do you suppose," the party said, "That you could find our stuff?" "I doubt it," said dear Dirlagraun, And gave a bitter huff.
Then he gave the Harengon The greatest gift by far: A copy of “Gnome On The Run” And bid them au revoir (Morgie would have laughed at that While struggling with slash “R”).
“I do believe,” the Satyr said, “That something is not right, And think we ought to pay a call To Messers Witch and Light.” “I think we ought,” the Owlin said “To first stop for a bite.”
But in their way old Thaco stood, A clown grown grim and surly: “Rabbit! Owlin! Pixie! Skink! You aren’t allowed to be-“ The Fairy interrupted him: “Wait, WHAT did you call me?”
Poor Thaco cried: “Things move too fast! And have since my debut In R-1: To the Aid of Falx From Nineteen Eighty Two! And if you’d seen what I have seen Then you’d smoke bubbles, too!”
Finally he stepped aside, At last the way was clear. The Satyr ambled stealthily With open eyes and ears And pressed them to a wagon large To see what he could hear.
"The time has come," Witch and Light said, "To talk of things galore Of prizes—plans—and kenku pests— and ever so much more— But first we’d better ask inside Those spying at our door!”
Dramatis Personae
Jexim, a puzzled, puzzling fairy Jeremy Plum, operator of the Pixie Kingdom and bestower of silly names Biscuit, a talkative hamster Pinecone, a riding-pug Zephixo, dwarven inventor and mastermind behind the Mystery Mine Ernest Wilde, middle-aged calliope master currently inhabiting the body of his pet monkey Marigold, his button-collecting goblin assistant Dirlagraun, a kindly but inefficient displacer beast, minder of lost children and property Thaco, a bubble-smoking clown who is long past his prime
Certain Things Were Said
"Worried I was, with talk of missing supper." - Arix Specklefoot
"Could you not just purchase a new pair?" - Skerrek Tirael "Not like this, man." - Sylenos
"If you'd see the things I've seen, you'd smoke a bubble pipe, too." - Thaco
"Is this it?" - Dirlagraun "NO." - Everyone

Part III: On the Trail of the Kenku

What Just Happened? (In the style of The Hunting of the Snark)
"Where the heck is our stuff? We just want to know This Harengon ain't getting bigger, Arix has no idea of where to go And lies send poor Skerrek a-quiver!"
"Would you get back to work?" Mister Light cried, Twirling his cane with a smile, "Otherwise find where this kenku pest hides; She's cramping this carnival's style!"
"Well, that was a bust," said our heroes, conferring, "Anyone got a suggestion? If we need to pull strings to get back our things Then there are some folk we should question."
"Time's an illusion, free will a delusion!" Sylenos' mentor decreed, "Get a contusion battling occlusions, Or relax and have some of this…wait, what was I saying?"
Sylenos proclaimed: "A genius flawed!" "A man/dragon ahead of his time." Skerrek looked at his claws; Holafina at paws, And the other two just rolled their eyes
"A centuar I'm not! I just made a bad trade The "Cloppinton's" just serendipitous, Now lend me your aid and you'll maybe persuade These horsies to drop some significance."
Then they took to the skies on a dragonfly ride (Holafina and Skerrek abreast), When you're this high there's just nowhere to hide (And to which Sylenos attests)
Now Skerrek honed on a runaway gnome Who was fleeing the carnage with glee, Holafina struck home and that's it for this poem For the gnome was the kenku, you see.
Dramatis Personae
Mister Witch, a matter-of-fact elf, devoid of pretense Mister Light, a flamboyant elf, luminous and coy Burly, a philosophical, pumpkin-helmeted bugbear Mandragon, a seeker of truth (and not much else) Diana Cloppington, a centaur who is apparently not, operator of the Carousel Northwind, a very forthcoming treant, operator of the Dragonfly Rides
Certain Things Were Said
"There’s something weird going on. For some reason everyone thinks I don’t do anything around the carnival." - Sylenos
"It's true, Miss Cloppinton! We've ALL lost things." - Arix Specklefoot
"Wait, when did we have biscuits?" - Jexim

Part IV: Through the Looking Glass

What Just Happened? (In the style of A Boat Beneath a Sunny Sky)
Now hear the Kenku’s strange reply (As Arix struggles to apply Triage to these pixie guys)
Asking questions, getting nought Set her on a different course: High sabotage without remorse!
And what has got her so irate Is what’s she trying to intimate: Zybilna has been quiet of late!
Ignore the rest, and let’s take flight To confront dear Witch and Light (Surprisingly, they’re quite contrite)
To keep the carnival in motion A tapestry of lies was woven: A deal with the Hourglass Coven!
Who take from those who can’t afford Entrance through the Witchlight’s doors Miscellanea adored
So THAT’s who taken all your junk! Time to find these Hourglass punks! Which way to this Feywild dump?
But first we’ll make a brief aside So Candlefoot can vocalise His mermaid love (now legalised)
Now the pair can tie the knot And while we’re passing time why not Ride the fabled Bubble Pot?
Yet ere you all are translocated (Everybody’s breath now bated) Arix must be coronated!
The time of truth has come at last Hesitation as you pass Though the hallowed looking glass
Are you afraid to lose your minds? What lies ahead? What lies behind? What do you expect to find?
Will Skerrek ever fabricate? Or Holafina emulate A bunny’s median height and weight?
Shall Jexim’s memoirs find acclaim? Can Monty locate Bobbitt Fane? (…hang on, that’s a different game)
Does Arix ever find the door? And will Sylennos flee the cause To study unemployment law?
Dramatis Personae
Kettlesteam, a mischievous patron of Zybilna Paleesha, a mellifluous mermaid, now reunited with Candlefoot
Certain Things Were Said
“Sylenos, perhaps in eight years you can come back and find your lost employment.” - Skerrek
“Ask me where the exit is.” - Arix Specklefoot “Where is the exit?” - Mister Light “I don’t know.” - Arix

2024.05.15 08:40 Biggz33 Dry lane ball

Hey everyone. I am a one handed high rev bowler, close to 500 revs, maybe higher sometimes. Tonight I bowled 3 games at my local Bowlero (insert vomit emoji here) and the lanes were so dry I was standing with my right foot left of the left gutter and was still struggling to keep the ball in the pocket. My question is, other than throwing a spare ball straight, what is your go to ball for sandpaper dry lanes? If there even is one? Even urethane I couldn't keep from going through the nose.

2024.05.15 08:39 Geeky_barista Is it just me or is the game dead?

I've been playing this game since early access. I truly enjoy the mechanics and like the idea. I actually never finished the game; I'm trying to do that now. I'm no speedrunner, or hardcore gamer by any means, I regularly enjoy sim games (Driving trucks, Farming sims, basebuilding games, Etc.). But even for a player that likes monotony, the game feels incomplete.
To be fair, I only have 50 hrs on the game, so I may be wrong with this, but I feel like the last update was ages ago and I've not seen a single interesting new feature. So, I raise the question. Are the devs working on the game? I feel like the game is still unfinished, I can think of many features I would add to it if I were on the dev team. The story could definitely be polished and improved. A lot more ship types could be added to make the game feel different each ship you get into.
Idk, this could just be me, ranting about a game I truly enjoy but hoped I could enjoy even better.

2024.05.15 08:37 Throwaway122258 21F [F4M] EST/Anywhere Looking for forever

Hi! I’m 21F, American, looking for men ~21-25. I’m average height and slim- I consider myself conventionally attractive. I prefer men on the taller side and thin to athletic. Not a smokesubstance use drinker and looking for the same (social drinking is OK). I am an atheist and not looking for someone religious. I’m also not super political. My time zone is EST but open to LDR with the right person.
I’ve been out of college and currently working a corporate job. Seeking someone driven in his education, career, and finances. I am heavily family oriented and value stability- marriage and kids, a good education, etc. and leaning more traditional in this regard. I value reliability, openness, generosity, and kindness- to me, actions and consistency are key. All the love languages are important to me but Acts of Service is my #1.
In my free time I like to bake, paint, eat out, shop, and video game (looking for my player 2!). Generally lean more towards being a homebody for solo plans but enjoy going out with friends to eat, shop, salon, etc. I also love to travel and hope to see as much of the world as I can. And of course when I’m in a relationship I want to spend as much time as I can with that person :)
I value my time and don’t want to waste anyone else’s, either- DM me if you’re interested.

2024.05.15 08:34 FantasticArugula6665 Put 3.5% down on a house ASAP or hold for several years to put down 20%

My wife(F25) and I(M26) just started seriously saving for a house. Our goal is purchase our first home for approximately $250 ,000. as the market stands today, we can get a 3 bed, 2 bath in our area for that if you look hard enough.
Our rent for our townhouse(two bed,2.5 bath+ attached garage) right now is $950. We are saving $1500 a month right now for a home and that's going into a HYSA that's earning 4.15% APY
It feels like everyone in our lives is telling us to just put minimum down and get "skin in the game" in order for us to build equity and we can "just refinance later", but I've thought about it and perhaps in our situation, we're building more equity just keeping our savings in a HYSA for now.
Say we purchased a $250,000 house today at 3.5 percent down. Based on a 7 percent interest rate, our total monthly payment would be $2137. Only $1202 of that would be for the principal of the loan. The rest would go to interest, taxes, fees, and PMI. I would probably need to budget several hundred dollars for upkeep as well. Mind you our rent right now is only 950 dollars!
So every month that we don't own a house, we're able to put 1500 a month in a HYSA. I ran that savings rate into an investment calculator and hypothetically if we were to keep saving that amount for the length of a 30 mortgage at 4.15% APY, the total amount saved would be just slightly over $1,000,000. Adjust for inflation and in 30 years it would be estimated to be worth approximately $476,000 in today's dollars.
So my question is, should my wife and I just keep saving away until our rent goes up to the point to where we're loosing money not owning a house and just try to save for one hell of a downpayment in the mean time? Especially considering interest rates may eventually be lower when we do buy.

2024.05.15 08:32 suddenpoof returning player, support main, completely overwhelmed by how the game plays now. (+ some general questions)

Hi all,
basically: title.
Been a Diamond/ Master support main back then, mostly have been playing Moira, Ana, Lucio. I quit in 2019 I believe after the vast majority of the people I've played with no longer logged in and had moved over to other games, back to CS or to Valorant. I joined them.
Now I play on console.
Since I deleted my old Blizzard account not thinking I ever would come back (and not having played other Blizzard games either) I had to start from scratch...
Generally, I certainly do enjoy that the game seems to be way faster and less "static" now.
...but holy hell, I can't seem to handle the game anymore.
I'm kind of used to people "reacting" to my calls, e.g. when I'm under attack or even realizing themselves I need help e.g. when enemy Dva running straight past them towards me.
The amount of situations I had with people just completely ignoring this kind of stuff is absolutely mindblowing and honestly, I've been getting focused down harder than what I'm used to when I played in Diamond/ Masters back then.
...and honestly, I had more balanced games in quickplay before I've unlocked ranked. Most of my ranked matches basically has been super lopsided and mostly ended with one team spawncamping the other.
Granted, a lot of this is due to 5v5 and the game being way more faster and believe me, I absolutely LOVE the game being faster...it feels so much better overall than slowly "snaling" your way through the map behind big shields and with too many heals being thrown around.
Also, using a controller now certainly does have some effect as well, it's the main reason I've stopped playing Ana because I cannot aim for jackshit in this game (while not having any issues in other FPS I play on console and I don't know why that is.
How do you effectively heal when you basically get insta-jumped every single teamfight no matter where you are?
Like how am I supposed to keep my team alive when there is Widows and Sombras with a 20+ KDR in the enemy team while most of my teammates just constantly ignore everything going on around and them and just trying to hit the biggest target in their FOV?
On the positive side: I've seen A LOT less toxicity compared to when I played last time and it's quite a nice change. People also seem to switch heroes a lot more often, which I also find a very positive change.
I'm just not sure how to progress.
I don't even care about "rank" or anything, all I want is somewhat "meaningful" and balanced matches, where do I find those?
Some more questions:
  1. I seem to have gotten, white, yellow and pink currency, I saw white is for skins and stuff, but what is the pink currency for?
  2. does console share playerpool with PC? I swear, lots of the DPS I've encountered do NOT use a gamepad since the kind of stuff they do with their crosshair is simply not possible with a controller...I would not bother if I'd see that on PC, but I not play on PC anymore.
  3. is the PVE mode you can buy for 15 bucks "worth it"?
  4. What are "hero mastery" missions? I've tried to queue up for them once but matchmaking did fail me.
  5. skins etc you only can get from the shop now?

2024.05.15 08:32 SureKangaroo2947 Cargo Hauling Question

Can someone help me better understand cargo hauling. The ultimate question I have is how Hull E will even work within the game based on inventory limitations.
I love the cargo loop, between building rep or grinding up to a C2 and doing big runs. But ultimately, you run into the issue of long wait times for the cargo hauling based on inventory even with the C2 - so how ever will the Hull E be manageable within the game and make it worth it.
