2024.05.16 13:30 Travwolfe101 No available credit after payment of most of the balance?

Hey so I'm a first time credit card owner, got one to start building credit. I'm 26 with no credit score yet, idk how some things I've paid off definitely should have gone on my credit IMO (like phone bills, car purchase, etc...) but besides that. I got one of the only cards I could get approved for with 0 credit which was a capital one platinum card, it has 30% apr and no other fees (only sharing this Incase anyone has advice on other better cards). My main question is regarding available balance, I needed to purchase something online and my normal debit card won't work forany things since it's considered a prepaid card so I was gonna use my CC but saw it's maxed out at about $293 of $300. I went ahead and scheduled a payment (about $150)for the day I noticed that and it went through however my available balance is still stuck at $7 even though my payment went through and my baoance dropped. So I'm unable to make the online purchase even now 3 days after the payment since my available credit still isn't there.

•The Zero Point isn’t as active in it’s world while The Entity is constantly active all throughout itself whether it be assisting or hindering all throughout and even toying with everyone in it’s own way just to feed off emotions
Animation/Fight Potential:
•This could easily qualify as a Season Finale so it could definitely be a 3D all throughout or at the very least just the simiple characters are 3D while the background and deities are 3D. As for the fight, that could go back and forth between the deities making moves against one another while having moments of characters fighting one another only to then revive and go back at it. The Entity would definitely be the invading force while the Zero Point would be one the defense. Though knowing The Entity’s methods it would appear to do an invasion but in reality be trying to find a way around or working towards slowly corrupting The Zero Point itself.
•Important Things to note between the characters interacting is that while Fortnite characters can build items, killers can destroy breakable objects in 1-2 hits. Also why killers can’t die under the Entity’s rule, they do still feel pain and can be stunned. Plus Killers could act more like generals while The Thrall (beings that will be introduced in DBD’s Project T) can act as the foot soldiers.
Music Track
•Kind of tricky to pinpoint if there can be one particular type of music that could work for it as it could go back and forth between comical for Fortnite while intense for Dead By Daylight though I could see a possible vocal track also being used for it as well
Debatably
•At first it would seem like Zero Point has this based on defeating Galactus however it didn’t kill Galactus it just sent him away, which is definitely an important factor in death battle since it’s a battle to the death. With Galactus that was also a direct attack which is very different than how The Entity attacks which usually is slow and calculated attacks with the goals of corrupting and absorbing universes. Plus The Entity is stated to feed off all the emotions of individuals within it’s realms which probably means the Zero Point would have to find a way to eliminate all of those emotions in The Entity’s realm to erase it from existence. This looking to be a power vs hax type of MU the more and more I look into them. As for who wins, it’s actually looking hard to tell as of right now.

Should i go back to college or pursue a trade or state job
I'm stuck at crossroads in my life and i'm not sure which path to take. I went to penn state for a couple years goofed off and got put on academic suspension which ends this fall. I'm 25 and i've been working in warehouses did a little bit of sales and been in retail. I want to make more money in my life and feel accomplished in my life for once. I've put down weed cut out all the bad friends in my life and just been staying down going to work and doing my own thing. I live in NY and i've applied to the mta and passed the tests for one of their positions but it takes a long time hear back from them. I've also looked into apprenticeship jobs and trades. I've also thought about going back to college but i don't know how the financials would work. I live in my own not at home anymore and i pay a car note as well. I was thinking just get a state job or trade for now and while im making more money i go back to school to get a degree in something that pays good and doesn't involve a lot of physical work. I know im very intelligent and i don't want it to go to waste. Is this a good idea or should i do something else because im traumatized from all the loans i've already taken on. I would rather just work and pay it off as i go. I know it's hard and i wouldn't have a lot free time but im willing to do it. I have no kids no relationship so i think now is the right time to do this. I just need some guidance so what do you guys think i should do?

So basically I used to be "friends" with this rich girl who had nothing but evil intentions for me, groomed me into meeting a man 10 years older than me who ended up taking advantage of my naivety. He was very abusive, exploitive and disrespectful asf. From my understanding this man preys on young vulnerable immigrant girls stalks where their dad works and gets them laid off, then sleeps with their daughters. I just can't believe someone got away doing something so heinous and disgusting. My "friend" was basically dating that guy who abused me. She would constantly make comments like " be shting on btches" "btches have to be careful with me" or "btches be dumb" or "i be violating btvhes" " I be ending btches" "btches wish they were me" and that she gets guys and how girls wish they were her.
She calls her male partners "assets" where she sets girls up with her boyfriends (assets like she mentioned earlier) and then those guys steal financial resources from the girls family.She was trying to steal ALL my family’s assets and financial resources and was literally trying to evict🧿🧿🧿 my family from their home. Her comments made me feel super uncomfortable.
And she did in fact did all the things she mentioned to me. And she did all this to me because I gave her an unintentional back massage when I was 15 and she was 18. She yelled at me and told me to back off, I got very teary eyed and apologized, but she didn't accept it.And she set me up with one of her "assets" She's very egocentric like todays rappers are. I feel violated, humiliated and just insecure. I've never been called such words i'm the sweetest person in the world and the fact people make me seem like l'm that, is disgusting. Like i'll never be able to feel myself or br confident badss ever again. I just don't know

I’ve had what seems like the typical experience with Tesla wipers since buying one a month ago… they take forever to wipe when there is water all over the windshield… they wipe full speed when it’s dry.
I understand that Tesla uses an AI model to manage wipers rather than traditional rain sensors. I’ll buy that approach, but I don’t understand why the reality seems to be so bad. I would think looking at a window with a camera and deducing how much water has accumulated on it since the last wipe shouldn’t be that hard… a way easier problem than FSD. So what is making AI wipers so hard?

Hey everyone, most stupid thing happen to me last evening, I almost got into a street fight with a teenager.
Back story: me 26m and my gf 22 where walking as 2 kids around the age 15-17 passed by on electric scooters in a dark valley. They stopped behind as and started staring and my partner’s ass.
I don’t know why, but I just pointed with my finger at one of them (not sure why I thought it would be funny) and all of a sudden he got really agressive and I couldn’t stop myself from being agressive too and he said something along the line of “want me to come?” To which I replied “yes” and he repeated “are you sure?” And I said “yes” and than he drove off and I took my gf to a more lighted area where more people are present in front of a mall.
He came back and stopped in front of us.
A skinny kid with a helmet on so I couldn’t read his face. My gf reaction was immediately screaming at him saying “who do you think you are/ how old are you even”
I was very nervous, I’ve been training boxing and Krav Maga in the past for years and always been the best in my class but never completed in professional fights and I can count on one hand how many real fights I had.
I was 100% sure I can take both of them but I was still afraid. I was feeling the adrenaline in my body, my hands where shaking and I felt my heart exploding. And I felt like I can’t speak, my face muscle where shaking as well. I felt stupid for dragging myself and my gf into this and watching her protecting me like that.
I started breathing a little while holding my gf who went crazy on that kid yelling at him and getting very close to him.
Than I saw the guy checking his phone massages (I believe he waited for backup) didn’t make any eye contact with me He was very quiet and didn’t say a word the whole time he was in front of me. His friends where standing a few feet’s away. I later heard from my gf there was a third guy on a motorcycle.
I said to my gf “I’m talking with him right now “ “let us speak”
While trying to breath because I felt short of breath.
I touched his hand to grab his attention as they where right info of my on the scooter
Than I said something along the line of “look when I pointed at you I thought that was funny but I didn’t like the way you looked at my gf”
He said “I didn’t look at your gf” So I said “if that’s the case than I probably miss read the situation”
So he just turn around and without saying anything and that’s how it all ended.
I’m not sure why he wasn’t agressive anymore , why he didn’t own his actions, why he was so quite when he came back? Why he just turned around and left? Was he afraid all of a sudden?
Maybe because when he came closer he saw I’m much older and taller 6’3 and his friends standing from a far made him feel vulnerable.
My gf thinks that she scared him off although I find it unrealistic.
From your experience What do you think happen?
I glad It didn’t get into something serious. That was foolish of me but I feel weak that although my gf said I just looked calm and assertive…

Hi there! I got diagnosed with folliculitis decalvans around 3 years ago. Got a biopsy done of my skin and it looks like its FD 100% since staph. aureus is the faulty bacteria.
Started my journey and tried a lot of things: Consuming no dairy, eating no sugar, drinking no alcohol, taking probiotics, but after months i realized that it doesnt make a difference. So i went over to systemic antibiotics which worked, till i stopped using them. Since I'm quite an enemy of systemic abuse of antibiotics, and didnt want to go all the way to immune suppressors, which have nasty sideeffects, i started my research on reddit and found the well known "long term cure" by putting Clindamycine in rubbing alcohol and applying that for 2 weeks in a row. Worked quite good for me, since i was completely free of symptoms for around 2 months, then i had to reapply the medication. Followed this routine for some months, but i got tired of it, since the flareups came back earlier (around 5 weeks after the last application of the AB), and the constant fear of getting AB resistance didnt make it better.
So i searched for some other solution and i found one which works actually really good (for me). Since im a chemist with a master degree, i got hold of some pure Benzoyl peroxide, which i added to rubbing alcohol (very low solubility, but at least something will disolve). I pour 30 mL of this solution into a little Beaker and add 3 mg of Mometasone (corticosteroid) soluted in propyleneglycol (2mg/mL), which i had at home because of some sinus infection back in December. Every time i feel like my FD starts to flare up (around once a week. sometimes even once every 2 weeks), i apply this mixed solution ONCE at night and go to sleep. I am having no problems with this method since around 2 months. Completely off the AB. Maybe its worth a try!
I also started washing my hair with sulfur containing soap, but i dont think that it actually has an impact.
Im not sure if its the BPO which works for me or the mometasone. I will try to figure it out in the future, but this one seems for real to be an application which could last for a lifetime, since its really low effort.

I’m trying to make a cape for my partner and I have tried searching for sewing patterns like “hooded cape with scarf” or “cowl with scarf” and I’m not finding anything. I’m okay to make my own pattern, but I just don’t know where to anchor the scarf bit, if it’s one piece or two.
If you have a garment like this, can you maybe send photos of what the garment looks like from a few angles / how you put it on?
OR is the scarf just supposed to be separate and go on top of the cape?

Hey y'all,
Working my way through all the games and just got to Triforce Heroes. At first I didn't think I'd be able to play it, since it's multiplayer, but then I read they have a single player version. Finally! One of the multiplayer games I can play by myself!
Now I could be wrong, but it seems like they did nothing to adapt the multiplayer style of play to the single player experience. There are multiple moments in the game where it's just about bonkers hard to make it through on single player. The boss in the Hoxin's Mine is actually impossible, I don't see how I'm gonna be able to beat them. I can totally see how 3 individuals can clear the cart out together, but alone it's just not possible, they throw sooooo many bombs. And I don't even bother with the timed bonus levels. They're just cruel, honestly.
It's too bad. I was so excited to finally be able to play one of these multiplayer games, and the doppel feature is super unique and makes for some great puzzles, but the game is so aggressively hostile to the single player experience that I'm finding it hard to have fun with it. Which sucks, 'cause I really do think these are some of the coolest puzzlzes.

Hello, I'm not big on writing my personal stuff on the Internet but here I am writing it out of pure pain and inability to see a bigger picture.
So just about 2 months ago she broke up with me on my 30th birthday. It was a shock, and the most devastating emotional, psychological experience I ever had. Because what happened was that we were together for the weekend of my birthday, and she bought me a nice present and wrote a heartfelt love letter, saying how wonderful I am and how she loves me forever, how she loves me the most. How she could spend the eternity exploring the amazing universe that my mind is. She woke up before me on the birthday and gave me the present and the letter. And then that same day, that afternoon she told me it's over, and how she thinks that she will regret breaking up for the rest of her life.
Our relationship lasted for about a year. It was very intense and emotionally charged relationship. And during the relationship she made me feel safe. Saying things like: she is my home, my safe place. Saying that I'm the only man for her and that I am somebody who will forever be in her life. Talking about how she sees herself having kids with me. How she loves me unconditionally.
She has seen all of my flaws, and believe me I have them. From my insecurities, abandonment issues, trust issues to a certain degree also. But I am aware of those issues and I am going to therapy, and I do work on them as best as I can. Sometimes I fuck up and let myself react out of emotion, which I know I shouldn't do , but I've never learned those things as a child or young adult, I'm learning it now. The way she ended it out of nowhere, one moment everything is okay and she loves me the most, the next moment is over really fucked with my head and made me put all the blame on myself. She basically decided for me and her that it's over. Now looking back I can see how she was probably preparing to end it a month prior.
But if she was thinking about ending it, why didn't she communicate her unhappiness, feelings she had, thoughts she had with me? Why knowing you wanted to break up, would you come for my birthday and tell me you love me the most and forever?
We did have an open communication, well looking back we had open communication when I was in a better place and was pushing for conversations. In the month before she broke up , I was in a bad place mentally and putting a lot of pressure on myself, being unhappy with the way my life is going, and 30th birthday approaching.
Uh I don't know if any of this makes sense, and I just scratch the surface here , didn't paint a full picture. But I love her, and I feel like my heart and soul were ripped out of my body. Can't stop thinking about her.
She insisted on no contact after the break up. But I'm having a real hard time with it. I've sent a couple of messages saying how sorry I am for lack of emotional maturity on my part and how I love her, and how I can see everything. She just left me on read. No response. My brain is telling me to keep sending her messages explaining my faults and how I never wanted to intentionally hurt her. How I understand her and her past traumas. How she tends to stonewall and how I'm willing to work on it with her. In hopes we can be together and work through the issues. Maybe I'm just delusional or falsely hopefull. Maybe it's the fact that she made me feel like I can put all my walls down and be fully vulnerable with her, and allow myself to love her. And attach myself this much.

2024.05.16 13:25 Outrageous-Machine-5 Can you setup a proxy to a RHUI instance in Sonatype Nexus?

Title mostly explains the use case. We have RHEL through AWS and that points to their RHUI instance for the given region. We have a request to make RHEL packages available for CI, and to do that we have Sonatype Nexus for artifact management.
Nexus has support for Yum repos and documentation for a RHEL proxy here, but here are the problems:
  1. I can't use this doc. There is no entitlement through AWS with RHUI. It looks like you don't use the `subscription-manager` at all with RHUI in fact according to this doc by Red Hat. The proxy url also points to the CDN which looks like a different use case than using the uris of the mirrorlist pointing to the RHUI for a new AWS RHEL instance specified in `yum.repos.d`. I also verified that in spite of the warnings that my EC2 instance is not registered, both `yum` and `dnf` pull packages and run update just fine.
  2. I haven't found any docs for pulling from the RHUI. I'm not sure if it works at all with Nexus. Nexus supports yum proxy repos, but it only provides one set of GPG Key, remote URL, and certs per repo, whilst there are 4 or 5 enabled repos specified in the `redhat-rhui.repo` file each with different subdirectories to repos hosted on the same rhui instance, each with their own set of ssl certs, although a `cat redhat-rhui.repo grep ssl sort -u` reveals that each repo uses the same set of `sslcacert`, `sslclientcert`, and `sslclientkey` files. There is also the separate client config repo to consider. I could think of a few possible approaches to this, I would like to know thoughts if anyone is familiar with this. Do we:
a. point to RHUI directly in the remote url, something like `rhui.us-east-1.aws.ce.redhat.com` and we can setup Nexus to automatically resolve the different repos in one Nexus proxy?
b. have to setup a new Nexus repo per entry in the `redhat-rhui.repo` INI file to resolve each set of certs when using `yum`?
c. have a persistent RHEL instance with RHUI repos fully configured and point Nexus to that RHEL instance instead (the instance still doesn't have an entitlement attached, so need to figure that out still, but I'm leaning towards this, only issue I see could be cost/performance bottleneck if a lot of teams end up using it)?
d. if pointing to the EC2 in c is a bottleneck or if running a persistent instance is too expensive, do we use Terraform to spin up a micro instance at build time to pull from using the AWS licensing to authorize Nexus? (<- this is what the customer says we can do, but I have my doubts that ssl certs made for a specific instance will be the same for a new instance)
Being that the subscription is managed through AWS, we don't have access to the subscription itself to use the Red Hat customer portal. I'm meeting with our financial officer, the guy who approves these paid subscriptions, next week to see if I can at least or what I can do about using our RHEL subscription, but until then public domain/forums like reddit are all the resources I have to find a solution.
One last note is that I tried running this how to on connecting to RHUI through curl on a RHEL instance and it worked perfectly fine, tested with `rhel-8-appstream-rhui-rpms`, so I was figuring a way of using that to get around the issue with not having an entitlement attached to the instance.
What are your thoughts?

In George Orwell’s Animal Farm which is on the subject of the existence of a society of animals living on the Manor Farm. One first thinks that this novel is about the animals living in a farm from the title. But as the story goes on, it gradually begins to make the readers understand the depth content of the workings of society in Communist Russia. George has accurately compared the society of human to the animals to the animals living in the Manor Farm. In this novel, author has compared the Russian revolution, where animals represent the significant personage and act as the leaders in the Russian Community. Animals are used to demonstrate the operation of the communist class system and how the citizens(people) respond to this and the effect of the leadership by early Russian leaders such as Stalin on the behavior of the people of Russia. For instance, the Old Major makes the speech to other animals about the idea of revolution. Since he dies before the beginning of the revolution, it could be compared to the Karl Marx, whose ideas set to the Communist revolution in motion. The seven commandments are consider as one of the important step in the revolution which changed by the rulers of the Farm. This paper talks about how the seven commandments were altered during throughout the story and whether it reflects the message of the Communist Manifesto.
After the rebellion took place in Manor Farm, it changed to Animal Farm where the set of laws was introduced to the citizens of the farm by the leaders. The set of laws which are known as The Seven Commandment are said to be “form an unalterable law by which all animals on Animal Farm must live forever after.”(Orwell) These Commandments were so important that they were painted by Snowball and Squealer “in giant white letters that could be read from thirty yards away.”(Orwell) The original Seven Commandments ran as:
  1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.
  2. Whatever goes upon four legs or has wings, is a friend.
  3. No animal shall sleep in a bed
  4. No animal shall drink alcohol.
  5. No animal shall kill other animal.
  6. No animal shall wear clothes.
  7. All animals are equal.
These commandments were to be followed by all the animals living on the farm at all times regardless. As one can think from the reading, the simplest phrase that explains these commandments is “Four legs good, two legs bad.” As time passed by, the commandments were altered by the rulers of the farm. Napoleon (the pig who emerges as the leader of Animal Farm after rebellion) who very cleverly broke the commandment and reintroduced as “four legs good, two legs are better” Even though the first two commandments state that anyone on two legs is bad and should not be allowed in the farm, they were wracked in the first year. Since the pigs started walking on two legs, the first commandment was violated and more over, the hero of the Battle of the Cowshed, Snowball turned into an enemy of the Farm as he was thrown out by Napoleon and allowing trading through Mr. Whymper resulting in violation of commandments .
The pigs moved back in to the farm house which result into alteration of the first commandments. The third commandment restricts animals of the farm to sleep in the bed which was forced to change by Napoleon with the modification of the commandment by adding “with sheets.” After the rebellion took place in the farm, the first commandment overruled which was being “all animals equal.” As we read thru out the story the pigs were keep on changing the “unalterable laws” for their comfort just like we saw above with sleeping in the bed. According to Napoleon, sleeping on beds is not a major change yet it was not allowed earlier since humans lived on the farm slept on the bed. The pigs changed the commandment so wisely that the other animals of the farm didn’t think as the violation of the commandment.
The next commandment to change is “No animal shall kill other animal”. This happens not long after the confessions and executions of animals on the farm that were supposed traitors and in league with Snowball. After these executions, again Muriel, Clover and also Benjamin plus some other animals felt this did not square with this commandment. Once again, the pigs have changed the Commandments in order to justify their actions. The animals read the Commandment they though did not agree, “No animal shall kill other animal without cause”, and then the animals see how really the Commandments had not been violated.
The next commandment to change is when Napoleon abuses his power and made life harder for other animals. The pigs impose more control while reserving privileges for themselves. Squealer justifies every statement Napoleon makes, even the pigs’ alteration of the Seven Commandments of Animalism. “No animal shall drink alcohol” is changed to “No animal shall drink alcohol to excess” when the pigs discover the farmer’s whisky.
One would never think that pigs ever made change to the commandment about the clothes as they were enough powerful to rule other animals. The seventh commandment explains that all animals in the world are treated equally without distinction. Instead of considering the commandments as “unalterable laws,” they were replaced by worthless slogan “All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others,” which is totally opposite to with what they were introduced to other animals.
Orwell has used images to make his argument stronger. He has used events to help readers to understand his thoughts. While reading, we develop a feeling of sadness inside getting attach emotionally to the story. Orwell writes in a way to targets readers emotions because they have the ability to experience and feel the pain suffered by the animals in the farm. The following scene could create a strong sorrow to the readers “So Napoleon, with the help of his dogs, slaughters anyone who is said to be disloyal. The tale of confessions and executions went on, until there was a pile of corpses lying before Napoleon’s feet and the air was heavy with the smell of blood, which had been unknown there since the expulsion of Jones.” To top it off, Napoleon outlaws Beasts of England, which had served as one of the only remaining ties between Animal Farm and old Major?” (Orwell 65).

What makes this game so much fun is how much it tries to follow a realistic complete social breakdown survival experience. Including the level of threat one would experience crossing paths with other people trying to survive. Combat would be expected. However, for all the ass hats that use the x-ray glitch to create an advantage in PVP or locating stashes and so forth, it really just shows your lack of skill. Quite frankly, it means you’re a bitch. You got a kill for what? Do you feel accomplished because you exploited an unintended logistical aspect of the game load? Good for you Bro-Tato. Yeah, I’ll battle log not because I care if I die, but because I’m not playing with your bullshit. We know when you’re doing it…EVERYBODY knows when you’re doing it. For those that play with dignity relying on listening skills and tactical methods and so forth to survive our crossed path interaction, you are the ones that make this game fun. With all of the emulators being released officially on the iOS App Store and the rise of handheld emulators like the Miyoo Mini due in large part to TikTok, more and more people are trying to emulate than ever before.
There are lots of YouTube guides for people but even still, lots of people struggle (or refuse to try) to learn how emulation works. It’s more complicated than downloading an Android game or buying a console game for your PS5/Switch. There can be specific file types, bios files for certain systems and then all of the settings to optimize the performance like frame skip and run ahead.
So there are lots of technical aspects of emulation that aren’t easy for the masses and probably never will be. Highly doubt RetroArch is going to change their UI at this point.
Then you get to the process and legality of downloading ROMs and there’s an even bigger hurdle for most people. I saw plenty of TikTok videos of people just linking directly to ROMs and bios, presumably not knowing that that is very much not a good idea. With iOS emulators, that kind of ignorance of the grey area around ROMs is gonna skyrocket.
There have been attempts to make downloading ROMs easier for people like the Tiny Best Set and Done Set for the Miyoo Mini but that’s a niche solution for one handheld emulator.
So my question is can emulation ever really be a mainstream hobby? Is it always going to “gatekeep” a ton of people out? Or are the new influx of iOS users going to cause issues with people trying to dumb down the difficult parts by bulldozing over rather than tiptoeing around the grey areas of ROMs?
