Excerpt from Morvim Charter Spy Crevan’s log, recovered from a Betterment facility on Wriss,
Journal Date: T.S.T. November 5th, 2136
Father believes that turning my notes into something more of a confessional might help deal with my night terrors without appearing weak in front of the crew. Last night’s were some of the worst I have ever had. It started out with how they all do. I wear the guise of a true red-blooded Auditor, and find some unwitting sap to feed to the Dominion’s growing paranoia and execute them. Their brains pour out of their head like water. Then the call comes in. A suspected defect harboring malformed Arxur and prey.
The home looks like every single one approved of by the Dominion. The muffled screams coming from the gagged and bagged barely even register. It takes me no time to find the trap door. Even less to pry it open and rip my own son out of his only shelter. Wriss damn me, I feel nothing, breaking his neck just like every other malformed I’ve found.
I hear scampering in the hole. I pull out Elva, Wiesera and don’t even blink as I throw them to the Dominion raiders accompanying me. The sounds of their screams mean nothing as I continue my search. Rivera, Caulnek, and Barmlin are hiding in a closet. I don’t even bother opening the door. Just fire my sidearm through it.
When I exit the house I pull the bags off and execute my father. Then the two I just roped into this. Followed shortly thereafter by Lesh and Mico. I save my wife for last. The Wriss-damned Prophet descendant himself praises me and tells me to kill the final traitor. I put the gun to my own temple and pull the trigger. I never have enough rounds for myself too.
I don’t feel better writing this down.
We have had a full shift rotation without any serious problems. Most likely the Venlil’s natural desire to be friendly with everyone in their herd is going to cause an issue with Lesh most likely and Mico and Ishviel as close seconds. I am hesitant to try and keep those two away as they at least try to be social, but Lesh is actively lashing out.
It started with the ‘movie’ night Caulnek had. Father and Hrallak happily watched the ‘for fun media’ and Ishviel tried his best, but human entertainment was lost on him. Lesh found the entire idea to be a waste of time and chose to remain alone until his bridge shift arose.
From there, Lesh refused to communicate with anything more complex than a grunt to his shift partner Hrallak. The girl has enough problems as is. We don’t need Lesh causing more stress for her. We may also have a problem with Rivera who is either pushing Lesh into having a meltdown or accept that the changes we are experiencing are, in fact, good. Whenever Lesh goes to have a meal the eccentric Venlil isn’t that far behind him.
Turns out those broad flat teeth actually do a good job of breaking bones to get to the marrow, which he isn’t interested in. So they have a sort of standoff mutual existence going on where Rivera gets Lesh’s bones and Lesh takes advantage of Rivera’s teeth in place of putting the effort in himself. I can’t tell if the stillness that comes over him is from holding back the rage of listening to that Venlil yap or if he actually enjoys the noise.
Hrallak has been getting trained by Dr. Wiesera, who has high hopes for her. I’ve not had a chance to speak to her about training more Doctors for the colony of runaways we are trying to make, but I should make that a priority. Better to plan for a future we don’t have than to outlive your plans.
Approximately [twelve days] to Wriss. No other events of note to add.

Date [standardized human time]: November 5th, 2136
Ugh. Today’s the day. No time to walk or even have something to eat. Lesh should be ending his shift and hopefully that will leave him tired enough to be reasonable. What a great way to start the day. Going into a disciplinary meeting with probably the strongest Arxur on the ship first thing after waking up. One that doesn’t have to fear what the dominion would do to him if he killed me.
He wasn’t difficult to find. He, of course, beelined straight for his room, “It’s a nice luxury, isn’t it? Not being packed into this glorified meat carrier with a hundred irritable Arxur. Walk with me.”
He hissed in frustration but turned as ordered. I wasn’t expecting a miracle. Just to get him to at least try and loosen up a bit, “You are in this for revenge. As far as I can tell, you are the only one of us in this for revenge. I have a proposition for you.”
His reply came forth like a saw trying to cut through metal, but the blade was on backwards, “Yes sir?”
I led him into the cattle pen that was turned into a makeshift freezer. The cold air seemed to affect us both equally, as we shivered a bit, “I’ve been thinking about the Dominion… the Federation… and whatever stupid alliance Humanity has managed to pull out of its ass…”
The pause I inserted into my preplanned speech allowed me enough time to judge his reaction on each of our enemies as well as to ponder on Humanity and where I was going with this. He hesitantly took the bait, “And what have you concluded.”
“The Federation can’t destroy the Dominion and the Dominion won’t be able to fight on two fronts. Humanity knows war. They’ve lived and breathed it for centuries, we’ve only fought a one-sided genocide. The Dominion and the Federation won’t be able to compete with humanity the second they get their feet under them. The bombing of Earth hasn’t slowed them. It’s lit a fire under their ass.”
I had a hunch that Lesh wasn’t some roided up raider. I could see the gears turning in his head, “With Isif protecting Earth… The Federation can’t finish the job and the Dominion won’t attack them to bring them in line… Humanity has already started producing Prey- Alien? FUCK it. Prey fighters that can actually fight and sit in the same room as us without shitting themselves to death…”
“They have to take out the Federation first. No doubts about it. But they aren’t going to let the Dominion just continue to eat Sapients. That is going to result in the Dominion doing the stupidest thing possible and attacking an Earth and its allies that have been gearing up for real war since the second the bombs started falling. Remember. The ONLY reason we took the cradle is because Isif sacrificed hundreds of ships in orbit. We didn’t take the ground. We only took space which they came back and took. Every engagement on the ground resulted in fifteen and a half dead raiders to every human.”
The carnage of that debacle brought a happy jilt to his body language, “So, the only way this will ever really end is with both the Federation and Dominion falling.”
“And with what I know of the humans, neither side will be allowed to go without punishment. That is assuming there's enough of them left over to be tried for their crimes.”
“I like that thought but why bring this up to me.”
“Because all that will be left of us will be this tiny colony when this is over. It will be the only thing Humanity can say is untainted enough to be worthy of not being baptized in holy antimatter. I need- No. We need people that can help lead us. The remnants of the Morvim Charter NEED you. Need your strength, your guile, your… sociableness and sense of justice. I am asking you to join us proper. To help us forge a path into the future. Fight not just for your justice but live to build a better world.”
I felt fear as rage rushed across his face, and hope as it softened. He huffed and spat and paced around the room. It felt like the punch he launched into the steel wall reverberated through the whole ship. The panel fell off as he pulled his fist from the dent he made. He didn’t ask for permission to leave as he stormed away. At least I’m alive… Going to put him down as a maybe.
Unfortunately, it would seem Caulnek and Rivera picked now as the perfect time to also talk to Lesh. Rivera was sort of bouncing on the spot as Lesh growled and thumped his tail angrily, “Lesh! Guess what I remembered I found back on earth!”
The well-built Venlil rolled his eyes and smacked Rivera on the back of the head, “Rivera stole a copy of a Human military strategy game. One famed for simulating actual human battles. It’s set from military conflicts from their first World War to the last war before their first contact. Ishviel was hoping for more insights on Human strategies, and we thought it would be something that would pique your interest. You are welcome to come or not. Just don’t bring that shitty attitude you’ve been carrying around. We are trying to enjoy these few days before landing in paradise.”
My jaw nearly hit the floor as what I could only describe as a Lesh gently lifted his tail in intrigue, “What is this… game?”
Caulnek scratched his chin for a moment before snapping, “It’s a squad-based attack vs defense game with one or two players. One person sets up their defense and the attacker has to go in blind and deal with it. It’s actually a pretty clever system and I have no doubt the owner is going to peel Rivera’s hide off when we get back to Earth.”
The kleptomaniac slowly realized what Caulnek said, “Yeah it’s pretty fuuuuuu- huh?! Wait! Do you really think Andrew would do that?!”
Caulnek turned and walked off as Lesh followed, “Hrm… It sounds like it might be an effective way to mentally prepare for our own assault.”
Rivera tucked his tail and practically begged for an answer, “Guys… seriously! Am I going to be in danger?! Guys!”
Caulnek whipped his tail excitedly, “At the worst it will be a nice distraction. The game only has Human units in it, but it actually has a stat editor. I think I can bypass its normal restrictions and program in stats similar to what we can expect our enemy to have, but let’s play the game first. Get a feel for the rules and see if it's even worth the effort.”
With Lesh calmed down I made the choice to give him a little more time before I decided to see what this game was. I made my way to the bridge. Oddly enough I walked past Mico sitting in an open closet on my way there, “Mico? What are you doing? Shouldn’t you be resting?”
The sleek Arxur didn’t turn to face me, “I am in a sense resting right now. The Humans call it meditation. I received a book on it. So far… I think it's forcing me to come to terms with some stuff.”
I leaned against the door frame, “Is it better than sleeping?”
There was a long bit of silence before Mico brought his paws to his face and messaged his eyes, “No. But… it’s not really a replacement for sleeping.” He picked up a nearby book and opened it, “Meditation can give you a sense of calm, peace and balance that can benefit your emotional well-being and your overall health. You also can use it to relax and cope with stress by focusing on something that calms you. Meditation can help you learn to stay centered and keep inner peace.” He set the book back down, “Basically, I think it will help me remain calm. Despite being in the least crowded ship I have ever been on… It feels more claustrophobic than ever. The Prey- our companions are… I have no other word to describe it but intense. It feels like my head is going to pop when I am in a room with them. This meditation is helping me I think. Since I started this before we left… It’s been easier.”
I rapped my knuckles on the door frame, “If it works get Lesh to do it too. The thug is going to blow a gasket if he can’t calm down soon.”
Mico let out a slight chuckle, “You don’t have to tell me that. I just got off a shift with him, and he wouldn’t shut up about bringing the prey and defectives along. I think he’s actually scared they are going to get hurt.”
I plodded off to let Mico resume his meditation. His words about Lesh weren’t exactly anything I didn’t know. That Arxur cares more than any other I’ve met. He’s been hurt before by that care.
The bridge door opened to reveal my father in his command chair with Elva lounging at the pilot’s seat. The latter of which tried and failed to perk her floppy ears up with concern, “Did something happen? Shouldn’t you be watching over the rest of them? Make sure no one… flips their shit?”
I scoffed, “Yeah… I don’t think those paranoia plans will be necessary. Lesh is acting out because he has grown attached to all of you. Us too. Mico is taking up ‘meditation’ to calm himself and better deal with everything. Hrallak is just happy to be free even if she ends up dead, and Ishviel… well, he’s already a runt. Caulnek and Rivera could easily take him, let alone together and even then, he seems to be happy that he doesn’t have to prove his strength to them to get respect. The lot of them can go unsupervised… for a bit.”
Elva leaned back in her chair and relaxed, “Good. Hopefully, this is a sign of things going smoothly. My guts have been in a knot since we left.”
Ivan barked out a laugh, “I think that's been the case for all of us. I’ve never liked returning to Wriss to begin with, but before I never had to worry about fighting the entire damned planet. This is… Terrifying.”
I nodded my head in understanding, “We are about to either do the dumbest thing ever or kickstart the end of the Dominion.”
Elva asked, “Is it true we aren’t saving the entirety of the Morvim Charter Remnants?”
My father sighed, “Yes. A lot of them have to remain behind to cover our escape. They also need to stay behind to fan the fires we leave. The Dominion is going to appear weak so it's the best recruiting drive they will ever have.”
Elva closed her eyes and leaned back, “Alright then. We get there. Secure a port. Plan our attack, take the ship and get the hell out of there… Far too much can go wrong with this.”
I couldn’t help but nod my head, “On the bright side at least you guys have a get out of jail free card. If we get caught… well, it’s not going to be but a few moments of extreme heat for us.”
My second in command let out a long exasperated sound, “Uuuwweeeeeegh… Can you leave now? I was having such a nice time sitting here bored out of my mind before you showed up. Go check up on the guys. See how Hrallak’s medical lessons are going or something.”
I bowed and left the bridge. The infirmary our ship had wasn’t quite suited to actually saving lives. At least that was the case before Humanity got their hands on it. Wiesera and Elva had been delighted to go through all the gadgets and gizmos the ‘Doctors Without Borders’ had given them. Apparently, mobile medical hospitals specialized for ease of movement and treatment in war torn areas is something of a specialty of theirs.
Sadly, as I entered the actual infirmary only a small fraction of the medical devices were even set up. Wiesera and Hrallak were standing over a table with a startling realistic headless torso of an Arxur laying on it with its chest pried open.
The Zurulian picked up a latex heart, “As you can see here, the Arxur heart is a three-chamber heart. This implies that the Arxur were at one point coldblooded, like other reptiles. I imagine given another few hundred generations we might see Arxur with four-chambered hearts.”
Hrallak twisted her head to the side confused, “Why would we get four-chambered hearts?”
“Efficiency. Four chambered hearts can keep deoxygenated blood from mixing with oxygenated blood. This way the only blood entering the lungs is completely ready to pick up Oxygen and all the blood going to muscles is carrying its maximum capacity for oxygen. As short sprint, ambush predators you don’t need a strong supply of oxygen to hit your target, but if the chase were to carry on, animals with four chambers can better supply oxygen to their muscles…”
Hrallak bobbed her head in understanding, “And maintain power for longer…”
“Actually, we are already seeing medical reports of Arxur with a harmless heart defect giving them four chambers.” To my surprise, both ladies didn’t jump at my sudden interjection. It seemed they noticed my arrival, “The Prophet-descendants were debating on scanning people’s hearts and purging those with the defects… until one of the descendants was found to have the defect too and now its ‘proof of superior genetics’ or some bullshit.”
The medic in training set a paw on her chest, “Makes sense. I wonder if I have it too.”
Wiesera looked at the latex heart in her hands, “It wouldn’t hurt to set up the portable echocardiogram. It wouldn’t hurt to make sure we know what biology everyone has… actually, Crevan. Let the Arxur crew know we are about to do some health check-ups on everyone. I want to know what everyone’s hearts look like in the event I have to fix them. Now Hrallak see here- Crevan! What are you waiting for! We do not have forever here! Move it!”
I bowed and headed for the Cafeteria. It would seem Wiesera is warming up to her role as lead medic.

Crevan seems to not being doing too hot… actually most of the crew is on edge. Lizard boi does his rounds and checks on the crew. It seems like everyone is settling in for the long ride to Wriss. Hopefully things go smoothly when they get there.
Welp! I got laid off! So I’m waiting a month to see if my job opens back up or if I am going to be working somewhere else. Now that sounds like I have time to write but my job actually kept my Autism/ADHD in check as the only thing I could do on break was write so hopefully I can keep up with my chapters and get Part 2 of the devil you know done. I almost had it done but I hated the whole chapter and have to rewrite it.

There was a long bit of silence before Mico brought his paws to his face and messaged his eyes, “No. But… it’s not really a replacement for sleeping.” He picked up a nearby book and opened it, “Meditation can give you a sense of calm, peace and balance that can benefit your emotional well-being and your overall health. You also can use it to relax and cope with stress by focusing on something that calms you. Meditation can help you learn to stay centered and keep inner peace.” He set the book back down, “Basically, I think it will help me remain calm. Despite being in the least crowded ship I have ever been on… It feels more claustrophobic than ever. The Prey- our companions are… I have no other word to describe it but intense. It feels like my head is going to pop when I am in a room with them. This meditation is helping me I think. Since I started this before we left… It’s been easier.”
I rapped my knuckles on the door frame, “If it works get Lesh to do it too. The thug is going to blow a gasket if he can’t calm down soon.”
Mico let out a slight chuckle, “You don’t have to tell me that. I just got off a shift with him, and he wouldn’t shut up about bringing the prey and defectives along. I think he’s actually scared they are going to get hurt.”
I plodded off to let Mico resume his meditation. His words about Lesh weren’t exactly anything I didn’t know. That Arxur cares more than any other I’ve met. He’s been hurt before by that care.
The bridge door opened to reveal my father in his command chair with Elva lounging at the pilot’s seat. The latter of which tried and failed to perk her floppy ears up with concern, “Did something happen? Shouldn’t you be watching over the rest of them? Make sure no one… flips their shit?”
I scoffed, “Yeah… I don’t think those paranoia plans will be necessary. Lesh is acting out because he has grown attached to all of you. Us too. Mico is taking up ‘meditation’ to calm himself and better deal with everything. Hrallak is just happy to be free even if she ends up dead, and Ishviel… well, he’s already a runt. Caulnek and Rivera could easily take him, let alone together and even then, he seems to be happy that he doesn’t have to prove his strength to them to get respect. The lot of them can go unsupervised… for a bit.”
Elva leaned back in her chair and relaxed, “Good. Hopefully, this is a sign of things going smoothly. My guts have been in a knot since we left.”
Ivan barked out a laugh, “I think that's been the case for all of us. I’ve never liked returning to Wriss to begin with, but before I never had to worry about fighting the entire damned planet. This is… Terrifying.”
I nodded my head in understanding, “We are about to either do the dumbest thing ever or kickstart the end of the Dominion.”
Elva asked, “Is it true we aren’t saving the entirety of the Morvim Charter Remnants?”
My father sighed, “Yes. A lot of them have to remain behind to cover our escape. They also need to stay behind to fan the fires we leave. The Dominion is going to appear weak so it's the best recruiting drive they will ever have.”
Elva closed her eyes and leaned back, “Alright then. We get there. Secure a port. Plan our attack, take the ship and get the hell out of there… Far too much can go wrong with this.”
I couldn’t help but nod my head, “On the bright side at least you guys have a get out of jail free card. If we get caught… well, it’s not going to be but a few moments of extreme heat for us.”
My second in command let out a long exasperated sound, “Uuuwweeeeeegh… Can you leave now? I was having such a nice time sitting here bored out of my mind before you showed up. Go check up on the guys. See how Hrallak’s medical lessons are going or something.”
I bowed and left the bridge. The infirmary our ship had wasn’t quite suited to actually saving lives. At least that was the case before Humanity got their hands on it. Wiesera and Elva had been delighted to go through all the gadgets and gizmos the ‘Doctors Without Borders’ had given them. Apparently, mobile medical hospitals specialized for ease of movement and treatment in war torn areas is something of a specialty of theirs.
Sadly, as I entered the actual infirmary only a small fraction of the medical devices were even set up. Wiesera and Hrallak were standing over a table with a startling realistic headless torso of an Arxur laying on it with its chest pried open.
The Zurulian picked up a latex heart, “As you can see here, the Arxur heart is a three-chamber heart. This implies that the Arxur were at one point coldblooded, like other reptiles. I imagine given another few hundred generations we might see Arxur with four-chambered hearts.”
Hrallak twisted her head to the side confused, “Why would we get four-chambered hearts?”
“Efficiency. Four chambered hearts can keep deoxygenated blood from mixing with oxygenated blood. This way the only blood entering the lungs is completely ready to pick up Oxygen and all the blood going to muscles is carrying its maximum capacity for oxygen. As short sprint, ambush predators you don’t need a strong supply of oxygen to hit your target, but if the chase were to carry on, animals with four chambers can better supply oxygen to their muscles…”
Hrallak bobbed her head in understanding, “And maintain power for longer…”
“Actually, we are already seeing medical reports of Arxur with a harmless heart defect giving them four chambers.” To my surprise, both ladies didn’t jump at my sudden interjection. It seemed they noticed my arrival, “The Prophet-descendants were debating on scanning people’s hearts and purging those with the defects… until one of the descendants was found to have the defect too and now its ‘proof of superior genetics’ or some bullshit.”
The medic in training set a paw on her chest, “Makes sense. I wonder if I have it too.”
Wiesera looked at the latex heart in her hands, “It wouldn’t hurt to set up the portable echocardiogram. It wouldn’t hurt to make sure we know what biology everyone has… actually, Crevan. Let the Arxur crew know we are about to do some health check-ups on everyone. I want to know what everyone’s hearts look like in the event I have to fix them. Now Hrallak see here- Crevan! What are you waiting for! We do not have forever here! Move it!”
I bowed and headed for the Cafeteria. It would seem Wiesera is warming up to her role as lead medic.

Crevan seems to not being doing too hot… actually most of the crew is on edge. Lizard boi does his rounds and checks on the crew. It seems like everyone is settling in for the long ride to Wriss. Hopefully things go smoothly when they get there.
Welp! I got laid off! So I’m waiting a month to see if my job opens back up or if I am going to be working somewhere else. Now that sounds like I have time to write but my job actually kept my Autism/ADHD in check as the only thing I could do on break was write so hopefully I can keep up with my chapters and get Part 2 of the devil you know done. I almost had it done but I hated the whole chapter and have to rewrite it.

Here we go again on the local social media site in my town with yet another story of a "missing" dog. This is apparently an older dog that has been running around a busy street in danger of being hit by a car, and the bevy of dog rescuers are spending their time today trying to catch the dog and discussing this online.
Seems like every day there are multiple posts of "missing" dogs on these local sites. Typically, they have no collar and no tag, so no way to identify the owner and often no microchip. If the rescuer gets so far as to be able to catch the dog there is still no way to identify it. Where I live it really is the law that dogs be licensed after three months of age, and they wear a collar with a tag. No microchip means the owner is unknown and this generates multiple posts pleading to find the owner. Just posting a comment such as "no chip? no tag?" is almost controversial.
Someone commented this morning that "people need to do better." This sure got people upset just suggesting that dog owners need to be more responsible for their dog as apparently it is "no one's fault" that the dog got loose in the dog nutters' mind. Of course, it is someone's fault that the dog got loose. It is like these dog nutters are constantly wearing blinders and cannot see the forest for the trees. And sadly the one who would end up suffering the most in this kind of scenario is the one who ends up hitting a dog while driving.

I would LOVE to rescue a dog but since I don’t have any experience, I know that’s a long way to go since most of them have other needs than a pure bred dog that didn’t go through things.

A dog that is happy, greets me with a wagging tail, can be left around 5 hours alone unattended in a crate or a designated space with food and water provided, I don’t have a problem with shedding or barking

2024.06.09 12:30 TraditionalDensity In response to the 2014 AVMA Literature Review: "Dog Bite Risk and Prevention: The Role of Breed" (Repost)
This is a repost of my analysis from 2 years ago. I was reminded of it because I saw more pit bull attacks in the new (LOL). I figured since then, a bunch of people have not seen it, and it may be helpful to help combat pit bull propaganda.
In a recent thread I saw this AVMA Literature Review: "Dog Bite Risk and Prevention: The Role of Breed" linked as proof that pit bulls are not inherently dangerous.
There was much circle jerking in how we cannot accept the science but as I was reading through it, it became clear it is not as scientific as people were claiming.
First to start, this literature review is not "the scienceTM". It claims to be "peered reviewed" but it not! There is no scientific journal publication associated with it, instead it is peer reviewed "similar to scientific journals" but instead of objective reviewers selected by an academic journal, it is reviewed by people AVMA purposely selected themselves, creating a significant conflict of interest and questionable findings as a result. The fact that they lean so hard in to the "peer reviewed" description shows they are trying mislead readers into thinking that these findings and recommendations are more scientific than they really are. Its nothing more than lobbying from an advocacy group.
Additionally, it is not unbiased, as it quietly says, while it tries to appear scientific, it includes other non-scientific sources including "scholarly ethical assessments" which allows them to bias the commentary and interpretations in a way that suits whatever "ethics" they want:
"Breeds Implicated in Serious Bite Injuries"
They are unable to hide from the fact that in their own review they found at least 12 separate studies (5,9,13,16,21,20,22,23,24,25,26,27) that support the premise that pit bulls are more likely to bite people. They also found that pit bulls are more likely to be involved in causing severe injuries and fatalities (21,23). The flimsy excuse is that pit bulls are more populaprevalent, so they are just proportionally biting more... but it has no citation associated with it and therefore not a evidenced based claim, it is just an unproven hypothesis. Note the initial bias and goal of this review is to specifically defend pit bulls. They offer no defense of other breeds and actively attack german shepherds as a problematic breed instead.
"Controlled Studies"
Amazingly almost all of the studies cited (60, 61, 62, 63, 64) explicitly excludes pit bulls from their assessment of bites controlling for prevalence. In bad faith they ignore their previous argument of prevalence and look at studies in areas and time periods of low pit bull prevalence to show that pit bull attacks are rare (ignoring their underlying prevalence rate). Through omission of studies related to pit bulls they can say that the study they reviewed show pit bulls do not represent a high risk of biting but other dog breeds do. Again counter to their narrative that dog breed doesn't matter and again throwing german shepherds under the bus.
"Aggressive Breeds"

They required a special license to own dangerous breeds like pit bulls, special insurance to cover damages from your pet, a psychological assessment, no criminal record, and the pit bull must be muzzled and leashed in public areas and be microchipped. Honestly, if that is the alternative to a breed ban. I'm cool with that! This resulted in a massive 38% drop in hospitalization due to dog attacks.

The author selectively quote the Duffy 2008 study and ignores the part where they found significant associations with breeds and aggressive behavior, though obviously chooses to emphasize the opposite conclusion of the entire study. Overall an uncompelling argument that isn't actually science based.

In a recent thread I saw this AVMA Literature Review: "Dog Bite Risk and Prevention: The Role of Breed" linked as proof that pit bulls are not inherently dangerous.
There was much circle jerking in how we cannot accept the science but as I was reading through it, it became clear it is not as scientific as people were claiming.
First to start, this literature review is not "the scienceTM". It claims to be "peered reviewed" but it not! There is no scientific journal publication associated with it, instead it is peer reviewed "similar to scientific journals" but instead of objective reviewers selected by an academic journal, it is reviewed by people AVMA purposely selected themselves, creating a significant conflict of interest and questionable findings as a result. The fact that they lean so hard in to the "peer reviewed" description shows they are trying mislead readers into thinking that these findings and recommendations are more scientific than they really are. Its nothing more than lobbying from an advocacy group.
Additionally, it is not unbiased, as it quietly says, while it tries to appear scientific, it includes other non-scientific sources including "scholarly ethical assessments" which allows them to bias the commentary and interpretations in a way that suits whatever "ethics" they want:
While principally a review of the scientific literature, it may also include information gleaned from proprietary data, legislative and regulatory review, market conditions, and scholarly ethical assessments.Furthermore, much of the literature they use is inconclusive or contradictory to their claims. They are hoping that no one will actually read them. In the rest of the post I will go step by step with each section they outline in their "peer reviewed" literature review and point out issues with their claims. Numbers in parenthesis (e.g., "(99)") are references to the studies cited in reference section of literature review.
"Breeds Implicated in Serious Bite Injuries"
They are unable to hide from the fact that in their own review they found at least 12 separate studies (5,9,13,16,21,20,22,23,24,25,26,27) that support the premise that pit bulls are more likely to bite people. They also found that pit bulls are more likely to be involved in causing severe injuries and fatalities (21,23). The flimsy excuse is that pit bulls are more populaprevalent, so they are just proportionally biting more... but it has no citation associated with it and therefore not a evidenced based claim, it is just an unproven hypothesis. Note the initial bias and goal of this review is to specifically defend pit bulls. They offer no defense of other breeds and actively attack german shepherds as a problematic breed instead.
"Controlled Studies"
Amazingly almost all of the studies cited (60, 61, 62, 63, 64) explicitly excludes pit bulls from their assessment of bites controlling for prevalence. In bad faith they ignore their previous argument of prevalence and look at studies in areas and time periods of low pit bull prevalence to show that pit bull attacks are rare (ignoring their underlying prevalence rate). Through omission of studies related to pit bulls they can say that the study they reviewed show pit bulls do not represent a high risk of biting but other dog breeds do. Again counter to their narrative that dog breed doesn't matter and again throwing german shepherds under the bus.
"Aggressive Breeds"

It was a typical summer afternoon in our sleepy town, the kind where the heat made the air shimmer and the cicadas sang lazily in the trees. I had just finished my chores and decided to take my bike for a ride down to the park. Mom always said to be careful, but it was a small town where everyone knew everyone. What could possibly go wrong?
I pedaled along the familiar streets, the wind tousling my hair, and the scent of freshly cut grass filling my nostrils. As I neared the park, I noticed a van parked near the entrance. It was an old, beat-up thing, and I didn’t recognize it, which was strange since I knew most of the cars and vans in town.
I shrugged it off and leaned my bike against a tree, heading for the swing set. The park was almost empty, just a couple of kids with their parents and an older guy sitting on a bench, reading a newspaper. As I swung higher and higher, I felt free, like I could touch the sky.
After a while, I got thirsty and decided to head to the water fountain near the edge of the park. As I was drinking, I felt a presence behind me. Turning around, I saw the man from the bench standing there. He had a friendly smile, but something about it seemed off.
“Hey there, kid,” he said, his voice smooth but with an edge I couldn’t place. “Nice day, huh?”
I nodded, wiping my mouth with the back of my hand. “Yeah, it is.”
He stepped closer, too close for comfort. “You look like a strong kid. Bet you could help me with something real quick. My dog ran off into those woods, and I can’t find him. Think you could help an old man out?”
Every instinct in me screamed to run, but I didn’t want to be rude. I glanced at the woods, then back at him. “I don’t know... I should probably get back home soon.”
He chuckled, but it didn’t reach his eyes. “It’ll only take a minute. Come on, what do you say?”
I took a step back, my heart pounding in my chest. “I really need to go.”
His smile dropped, replaced by a look of annoyance. “Listen, kid, it’s just a dog. Don’t be such a wuss.”
I turned to leave, but he grabbed my arm, his grip tight and painful. “Let go!” I yelled, trying to wrench my arm free.
At that moment, a voice called out, “Hey! What’s going on here?”
It was Mr. Thompson, the owner of the local grocery store, walking his dog. Relief washed over me. The man’s grip loosened, and he quickly let go, stepping back.
“Oh, nothing,” the man said, his voice too casual. “Just asking for some help.”
Mr. Thompson’s eyes narrowed. “You should let the boy go. Now.”
The man muttered something under his breath and backed off, walking quickly toward his car. I watched as he got in and drove away, my heart still racing.
Mr. Thompson put a hand on my shoulder. “You okay, kid?”
I nodded, though I felt anything but. “Yeah, thanks. I think he was trying to kidnap me.”
He frowned, his grip tightening slightly. “Let’s get you home. Your parents need to know about this.”
As we walked back to my bike, I couldn’t shake the feeling of how close I’d come to something terrible. Mr. Thompson stayed with me all the way home, his presence a comforting shield against the fear that still clung to me.
When I got home, Mom hugged me tightly, her face pale as I recounted what had happened. She thanked Mr. Thompson over and over, and he promised to spread the word around town to keep an eye out.
And to this night, as I lay in bed, I realized just how lucky I was. In our small town, it was easy to feel safe, but that day taught me that danger can lurk even in the most familiar places. And sometimes, it’s the people who know you and look out for you that make all the difference.

This is a more wholesome story, and the one that made me begin to have a bit of belief in the paranormal.
Years and years ago, when I was still a little dolphinpotato, I experienced my first loss of a family member; a dog who had been in my family’s life since before I was born. When I first came home, he became jealous of me, and so was given to my grandparents to care for. He was resilient, but one day his body began to fail him, so he was unfortunately put down.
Later, my parents got a cat, who I grew to see as a sibling (and he acted like one, too, lol). He was a little grey tuxedo who was affectionate, but usually only tolerated a few pets before getting overstimulated. Let’s call him Ash.
Now, we can get onto the story.
I was lying in bed one night, only about a week after the dog’s loss. My parents had given me a picture of him to look at, and I was on my side, staring at it. Tears were running down my face, and I was being as quiet as possible as I mourned.
It was late, and I was quite young. I didn’t want to wake anyone. Despite knowing that my parents would happily have comforted me, I still didn’t want to bother them.
I heard creaking of little paws on carpet.
Ash would commonly come into my room when I was still awake, late at night. I would leave my door open, just because I felt more comfortable that way, and it had the added benefit of allowing any furry friends (Ash) entrance whenever they desired.
Ash had the loudest engine purr I’ve heard in my life, and loved affection when everyone else was asleep, but was usually silent when he entered. On any given night, only the squeaking of boards under carpet announced his arrival.
I sat up and turned to watch him enter.
The doorway was empty.
I still thought I heard small feet brushing against carpet, and just assumed I missed seeing him enter. My bed was large enough - and Ash small enough - that he could disappear behind the end of the bed frame, and I still wouldn’t be able to see him without crawling to the end.
I turned to face the other side of the bed and looked down in the hope of catching him rounding the corner, clicking my tongue to urge him to join me faster.
Pawsteps, but no cat. They halted when they reached the side I had been waiting Ash to arrive at, and I watched the emptiness, there for a few moments.
Nothing changed.
I was more confused than anything, chalking it up to my mind playing tricks on me. I had, after all, had a moment where I swear I had heard a voice wish me “good night, OP”, one night from my doorway. Nobody was there, and it wasn’t a voice I had recognized. That had frightened me. I was just glad this wasn’t a scary auditory hallucination.
I spent a few moments, contemplating, and just as I turned to lay on my back and began to return to my mourning, I felt something.
As though a small creature had stepped upon my sheets, there was a slight weight in the blankets next to my ankles. I don’t remember if I felt any distinct paws, but I do remember the pressure settling on my lower legs, below my knees.
It all collected in a little round lump, as though a small creature had curled up on my legs.
I laid there, for a few moments, questioning if I was really feeling something. Would this sensation go away if I checked what it was? Maybe it was Ash, and he had come up from the opposite side? It wasn’t unheard of. But, again, I swore I heard the carpet shuffling on the side I had been facing, prior.
Carefully, I lifted myself up to sit. The pressure didn’t change. It didn’t leave, or re-adjust. It remained there.
With no body to accompany it.
I even leaned forward as far as I could to ensure I wasn’t just seeing things. There was no cat. There weren’t any other small animals in my home. I was alone, in my bed.
I had no reasonable, scientific explanation for what I was feeling. I couldn’t rationalize it.
I quickly recalled that I had been mourning all night. That I couldn’t sleep. I used to watch a lot of ghost hunting shows. I was fascinated by them, but never knew if I believed in ghosts or not. I was convinced by the shows I watched, but I was a child, and far less skeptical, then. I was terrified of ghosts.
But this didn’t feel scary. This didn’t feel intimidating or dangerous.
I still believe that was our dog’s way of comforting me. He didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to me, in person. I was just too young to be present for that. My parents would never have let me (him being hooked up to machines would have been scary enough at that age, and still is for a vast amount of people).
I was still confused about one thing, though. How did he get up onto the bed? He was a small dog, and I don’t remember him ever being able to get up onto any of the furniture. He was always picked up and placed upon it, as far as I was aware.
I didn’t know this at the time, but later on, I learned that my grandparents had put a short 3-step-stool down next to their bed to allow him to climb up or down as he wished.
He had just taken a set of phantom steps up to curl up atop my legs.
He was saying that he loved me. That there were no hard feelings (despite me taking his place as “the baby of the family” early on). That he would always be there for me, and that it was all going to be okay. He was telling me goodbye.
All of this in the only way he knew how.
With the weight of a pup resting on my calves, and the thought of his love soothing my broken heart, I was finally able to drift off, hoping that he knew how much I loved and appreciated him, in turn.
(Christ. I’m tearing up remembering this, lol. It’s been years. I’m assuming that my emotions are getting to me because of the time I’m writing this. It’s way too late, lol.)

Later, my parents got a cat, who I grew to see as a sibling (and he acted like one, too, lol). He was a little grey tuxedo who was affectionate, but usually only tolerated a few pets before getting overstimulated. Let’s call him Ash.
Now, we can get onto the story.
I was lying in bed one night, only about a week after the dog’s loss. My parents had given me a picture of him to look at, and I was on my side, staring at it. Tears were running down my face, and I was being as quiet as possible as I mourned.
It was late, and I was quite young. I didn’t want to wake anyone. Despite knowing that my parents would happily have comforted me, I still didn’t want to bother them.
I heard creaking of little paws on carpet.
Ash would commonly come into my room when I was still awake, late at night. I would leave my door open, just because I felt more comfortable that way, and it had the added benefit of allowing any furry friends (Ash) entrance whenever they desired.
Ash had the loudest engine purr I’ve heard in my life, and loved affection when everyone else was asleep, but was usually silent when he entered. On any given night, only the squeaking of boards under carpet announced his arrival.
I sat up and turned to watch him enter.
The doorway was empty.
I still thought I heard small feet brushing against carpet, and just assumed I missed seeing him enter. My bed was large enough - and Ash small enough - that he could disappear behind the end of the bed frame, and I still wouldn’t be able to see him without crawling to the end.
I turned to face the other side of the bed and looked down in the hope of catching him rounding the corner, clicking my tongue to urge him to join me faster.
Pawsteps, but no cat. They halted when they reached the side I had been waiting Ash to arrive at, and I watched the emptiness, there for a few moments.
Nothing changed.
I was more confused than anything, chalking it up to my mind playing tricks on me. I had, after all, had a moment where I swear I had heard a voice wish me “good night, OP”, one night from my doorway. Nobody was there, and it wasn’t a voice I had recognized. That had frightened me. I was just glad this wasn’t a scary auditory hallucination.
I spent a few moments, contemplating, and just as I turned to lay on my back and began to return to my mourning, I felt something.
As though a small creature had stepped upon my sheets, there was a slight weight in the blankets next to my ankles. I don’t remember if I felt any distinct paws, but I do remember the pressure settling on my lower legs, below my knees.
It all collected in a little round lump, as though a small creature had curled up on my legs.
I laid there, for a few moments, questioning if I was really feeling something. Would this sensation go away if I checked what it was? Maybe it was Ash, and he had come up from the opposite side? It wasn’t unheard of. But, again, I swore I heard the carpet shuffling on the side I had been facing, prior.
Carefully, I lifted myself up to sit. The pressure didn’t change. It didn’t leave, or re-adjust. It remained there.
With no body to accompany it.
I even leaned forward as far as I could to ensure I wasn’t just seeing things. There was no cat. There weren’t any other small animals in my home. I was alone, in my bed.
I had no reasonable, scientific explanation for what I was feeling. I couldn’t rationalize it.
I quickly recalled that I had been mourning all night. That I couldn’t sleep. I used to watch a lot of ghost hunting shows. I was fascinated by them, but never knew if I believed in ghosts or not. I was convinced by the shows I watched, but I was a child, and far less skeptical, then. I was terrified of ghosts.
But this didn’t feel scary. This didn’t feel intimidating or dangerous.
I still believe that was our dog’s way of comforting me. He didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to me, in person. I was just too young to be present for that. My parents would never have let me (him being hooked up to machines would have been scary enough at that age, and still is for a vast amount of people).
I was still confused about one thing, though. How did he get up onto the bed? He was a small dog, and I don’t remember him ever being able to get up onto any of the furniture. He was always picked up and placed upon it, as far as I was aware.
I didn’t know this at the time, but later on, I learned that my grandparents had put a short 3-step-stool down next to their bed to allow him to climb up or down as he wished.
He had just taken a set of phantom steps up to curl up atop my legs.
He was saying that he loved me. That there were no hard feelings (despite me taking his place as “the baby of the family” early on). That he would always be there for me, and that it was all going to be okay. He was telling me goodbye.
All of this in the only way he knew how.
With the weight of a pup resting on my calves, and the thought of his love soothing my broken heart, I was finally able to drift off, hoping that he knew how much I loved and appreciated him, in turn.
(Christ. I’m tearing up remembering this, lol. It’s been years. I’m assuming that my emotions are getting to me because of the time I’m writing this. It’s way too late, lol.)

My dog just woke me up in the middle of the night (he never does this) and I realised it was because he had peed himself inside. This also never happens. We went for an hour long walk right before bedtime, so it doesnt make any sense.
My mom gave him some raw meat yesterday. I asked her if it was pork, and she said no, it was lamb. He got some pieces of it. The strange thing is that we had a bbq with only pork meat. Im afraid she lied and put my dog in danger.
He is currently lying beside and seems find, but are there any symptoms to look out for?

Quite a bit of effort was put into protecting Harry through various deals. None was apparently put into protecting Thomas. Why?
He was her firstborn - the one she actually got to know. He was also in quite a bit of danger given that his father was known to kill all of his sons before they grew powerful enough to challenge him.
He had the Hunger in him, but it wouldn’t manifest for another decade.
He might not be Starborn, but as her son and Eb’s grandson, there was every possibility he’d be a walking badass.
She could’ve sought council aid to extradite her son. Politically, Thomas was of little value (Raith was going to kill him anyway) and a condition of his release could’ve been that he be rendered impotent until falling in love via magic, ensuring he could never become a whampire that might challenge Lord Raith.
We certainly know she was a highly capable woman and wanted them to both live and know each other.
So… what gives? She escaped, but never went back for her son? Surely Eb could’ve extracted him?

- Dan BB10 (the magic man himself, Dan stands out because of how different it is to the previous three. Far from the clean run throughs like the previous three, Dan faces legitimate adversity almost instantly with his number one ally imploding and suspected number two completely throwing him to the wolves. He recovers from this by proving his unwavering loyalty to the top dogs and mastering the art of threat level in ways that no one else rly had before. When the exact time comes, Dan flips the power structure of the house on its head and somehow manages to make amends with all of his enemies he makes from this to dominate the jury questioning and win in the first clean sweep vote in the shows history. The only thing left was whether or not he could do it again… until he was sitting in the final two chairs four years later that is…
- Derrick BB16 (the catalyst behind Cody’s success was ultimately derricks in BB16, one of the very best pure games ever played and never truly faced danger. Had literally everybody believing he was on their side throughout. The question of the repeatability may be warranted because of how big of a name Derrick is to casuals, but we essentially saw the strategy play out again thru Cody 6 years later. All time great at every aspect of the game…
- Cody BB22 (Up there with Paul for absolute best strangle holds on a season, while people say pregaming, this always happens in returner szns and literally everyone else could have accessed this as well. One of the very best comp threats ever and just 2nd unanimous winner at the time. Factor in his 2nd place finish and he’s proven he can do it multiple times, matter of fact, that 2nd place finish is the catalyst for this only being 3…
- Andy BB15 (In a season with so many big personalities and game players, Andy perfected the floater rat strategy and dominated the end game against the remainder of his alliance. When there are literally montages of everyone believing that they are safe when you win HOH, it’s safe to say you have a shit ton of control and social capital. Best part is much like Drew, I could almost guarantee he could do it again. Some knock for being too passive, but I still believe it’s one of the very best winner games.
- Will BB2 (may take some heat for this as well, but I see wills BB2 game as somewhat overrated, he actively ostracizes himself early on and continues to antagonize people thru out. Still, this is recognized as the pioneer game and he more than proved he could do it again with an even better BB7 performance)
- Drew BB5 (very similar to the game Hayden played but with the opposite outlook, rather than having a showmance at the start and flipping to the four man alliance, Drew takes the opposite route as he excellently pivots to Diane and the twins after riding high with the horsemen thru the first few weeks of power. Before ultimately cutting her for the easier win, not to mention him being picked for the veto every single time in jury solidifying one of the very best social games and most underrated winning games ever.
- Hayden BB12 (the ace of the brigade, Hayden works seamlessly thru the game with very little trouble. He works incredibly well in all three major facets of the game and does it using the strategy used so often in modern BB with the plus one. Two things for me place him below the next winner, one being his showmance actively somewhat putting a target on his back, two being his alliance doing so much work that I wonder how he works without them, great player nonetheless.
- Nicole BB18 (One of the more underrated games of all time in my opinion, actively positions herself behind the biggest threats aka the men of that szn and aligns herself extremely well rly from start to finish, on top of this we know with 100% certainty with not one but technically two endgame appearances after this)
- Lisa BB3 (Very good social player who to me doesn’t get the credit she deserves because of Danielle losing, despite being in such a stacked final 3 I felt as tho she played strongly in her own right. Actively kept her showmance out to better her own chances, sick)
- Kaycee BB20 (Pains me to say as a Tyler fan and avid vacation alliance hater from over on MTV, but her game translates to at worst a deep jury run every single time, deducting points for Tyler very much running the game strategically for her as she was completely invincible for the better part of half the szn, but a great social and comp player almost every time)
- Xavier BB23 (Strong enough social game, could translate well, very tough to get a true read with so many players within the alliance actively sacrificing their games with moves for the greater good, solid enough tho)
- Mike BB7 (good enough of a game, but truly lucks out playing next to a Top 3 player of all time as his ride or die doing the brunt of the work, positions himself very well, but i struggle to see his social game working well in other spots because he’s so abrasive to others as we saw twice)
- Jun BB4 (might catch some heat for this, but super overrated in my book. Wins largely because of such intense despair for Allison and beats no one else. Credit to her for recognizing this, but she treats people so poorly that it’s tough to see this translating well in different social settings)
- Steve BB17 (shows some good instincts for game, but lacks agency for so much of it that I question how repeatable it truly is, positions himself well enough in jury, but strikes me as a social outcast in many scenarios
- Jackson BB21 (very flawed winner, who rly gets works himself into an insane comp run with many physical consecutive ones much like Jag, I do like how he works himself into the majority and recognizes the need to flip to Cliff/Nicole, but burns far too many connections along the way, actively abrasive to so many people, tough to see his winning game translating)
- Taylor BB24 (another winner easily going home week one if not for the twist/Paloma being Paloma, but not rly her fault in her defense. Shows some social potential, but basically lucks into the majority with the leftovers flip being the other people’s work rather than her own, lacks agency for sure, but certainly not the worst, awesome story arc as well)
- Jordan BB11 (overhated as a winner, but still unbelievably lucky to have the house flipped with the qu handed to Jeff, not the worst of winners but seriously lacks agency and struggles in most scenarios to make her own endgame)
- Ian BB14 (really not that much unlike Josh’s arc, out week one if not for Mike saving him, actively targeted numerous times and trusted the wrong people aka Dan and Danielle when they were ready to flip on him at every turn, insanely fortunate/luck comp streak to even get there, and again with the Josh comparison, Dan lost because the of jury’s sentiment, not because Ian was better)
- Adam BB9 (another week one boot if not for the biggest house pariah of all time, dumb formatting, actively makes poor plays in the jury phase, wins against a bigger numbskull, glad he’s gotten his life together tho)
- Josh BB19 (social liability in every game that’s not BB19 and the watered down modern versions of the challenge, out the first week if not for safety and lucks out because everyone hated the man who had the choice of taking literally anyone he wanted and just happened to pick him, bad player)
- Rachel BB13 (not repeatable in nearly any other circumstance, not only handed 5 other vet shields but also her boyfriend being evicted not once but twice over her because of his own deliberate doing, and don’t get me started on the production garbage in the jury phase…great character, horrible player)
- Jag BB25 (Literally sent home on a unanimous vote… insanely lucky facing weak competition in a stupid amount of physical comps, ridiculously was handed HoH in consecutive weeks and still fucked it up)
- Evel Dick BB8 (Evicted several times if not for America’s Player aka production, literally gifted daughter in the game, bullshit all the way thru)

Hi, Let me start off by saying that I've never writen here before but need help in what to do. My story starts off with a father who has been my Rock and hero all my life. I was born to a mother and father who never married because my father's mother didn't think my mother was good enough for her son and did everything including threaten to disown him if he didn't marry the woman she wanted him to be with. My mother had to prove paternity thru the friends of the court in getting a DNa test done because she stated the he denied me being his at first and this was due to my fathers mother and his current wife and once paternity was established It was proven that he was indeed my biological father. He never denied me but his name was never put on my birth certificate. I'm 52 so back then if you were not married and getting help from the state the fathers name wasn't put on the birth certificate if the father didn't sign. Let's skip to today where I have a brother who is the only connection to my father and a (so-called stepsister- no relation) someone who my father helped raise but he never adopted her because her father was still alive. My father was going thru a health scare where he needed heart surgery but kept prolonging to get it done. During one of his stays at a rehabilitation center he told me he wanted to give me Power of Attorney. That's when I was told my Brothers son stole my Dad's credit cards and linked them yo a cashapp account and bought a car while stealing alot of money from my father. I was livid. I spoke to Sherry who told me that she had taken Dad to the police station to file a report then to his bank to make a fraud report. I spoke to her and told her my plans and she hurriedly ran down to Probate court and put in for gaurdianship over my father. It was until my father asked me to get him a lawyer I didn't find out until 3months later that she had gotten guardianship. She was very sneaky and slick about it. See this didn't just start with my brother my older sister stayed in the house for 25years and didn't do anything to help but be verbally abusive to him and moving her out of the house was the best thing that he did. Well moving forward in July my father finally got his living will and Revocable Trust done which names me as the executor over his estate and she was listed a a patient advocate and to make sure that all of his bill were paid after he passed. She was not to recieve anything because she was not an heir. My father had children including myself which makes it 3 biological children and 2 step kids which were not adopted but thru marriage he claimed them. One passed away and that left (Let's use Sherry as her name) Well she didn't sign her part to the Living will until September 8th. Moving forward his wallet came up missing and his phone when she came over. Then she'd text me and ask if I'd seen his phone which he had just used talking to her that morning. I had reminded her of needing help because Dad was getting to the point he was using the bathroom on himself more and more. I was continuously cleaning up floors and clothes and bedding but I knew it was something that had to be done. Now picture someone just showing up to your house and all of a sudden your sleep and they've hired someone to come in and clean out a space that my Dad used as his bedroom which was full of valuables,clothes,important papers and things my father treasured. But also your stuff that you've stored in the space. Now this happened on New Years Eve. I called Sherry to find out why my stuff had been thrown out and she said I'll call my cousin and we'll be over on New Years day to get everything back in the house. I knew just from the conversation that wasn't going to happen so I had to hurry home from work to get all my stuff that was thrown out.. I was beyond pissed to say the least. But the next thing to happen was the human society was called on me to get my dog taken away from me. When they arrived they said they recieved a call that the aminal had been living in dangerous and abusive conditions. I laughed and invited them in so the could see the dog. They burst out laughing when they say the dog and said that my dog was spoiled and loved the heck outta me. Then while they were leaving said they'd write in their report that this was a false report. I thanked them. About a couple of days later my Dad ended back in the hospital because he refused to take his medicine and his body started swelling up and retaining water. I walked in one day and Sherry had turned the electricity and heat off in the house. I had them turned back on. Then of course she did the same thing with the water. Dad never made it back home from Rehibiltation or the nursing home. She texted me and lied by saying that she was putting him in 2 different nursing homes the said he was going to the nephews house that had stolen the money but she wouldn't give me the address. I asked her for it and text my nephew both of them wouldn't answer me back. I put in to modify the guardianship but it was adjourned for a week when we got to court finally and the judge listened to her side and I never got a chance to say what has been going on. So Sherry lied so much on me during the zoom court meeting and then stated that I was a danger to my own father. I was so taken aback by this statement. She also said she went and got another will done 1-2 months before Dad passed which was May 1, 2024 the will stated that he wanted me to arrange his funeral. Sherry had obituaries printed with my Dad's name being incorrect and also as a last result to get me to act out at the funeral put in the obituary that I wasn't even his daughter but his God-Daughter. I knew it not to be true so it didn't bother me. My Dad had a great send off because of his Lodge brother giving him a sword sulute but I couldn't stay because I knew I would say something. I kept telling him she was no kin to him but because he's stuck on stupid and parked on dumb he believes anybody who will give him money. He called and told me that his kids mother and tge kids needed a place to stay and I told him no because he had stolen from me before and was disrespectful about it and ft nobody should say anything to him. He has been warned several times to not get close to her because she is a narcissist. If she can't get what she wants and control you, she will do and say anything to get you on her side so that you have no one to listen to you. Right now I'm in the process of trying to get the house turned over into my name since Dad said in his will the house goes to me. Hi, Let me start off by saying that I've never writen here before but need help in what to do. My story starts off with a father who has been my Rock and hero all my life. I was born to a mother and father who never married because my father's mother didn't think my mother was good enough for her son and did everything including threaten to disown him if he didn't marry the woman she wanted him to be with. My mother had to prove paternity thru the friends of the court in getting a DNa test done because she stated the he denied me being his at first and this was due to my fathers mother and his current wife and once paternity was established It was proven that he was indeed my biological father. I'm 52 so back then if you were not married and getting help from the state the fathers name wasn't put on the birth certificate if the father didn't sign. Let's skip to today where I have a brother who is the only connection to my father and a (so-called stepsister- no relation) someone who my father helped raise but he never adopted her because her father was still alive. My father was going thru a health scare where he needed heart surgery but kept prolonging to get it done. During one of his stays at a rehabilitation center he told me he wanted to give me Power of Attorney. That's when I was told my Brothers son stole my Dad's credit cards and linked them yo a cashapp account and bought a car while stealing alot of money from my father. I was livid. I spoke to Sherry who told me that she had taken Dad to the police station to file a report then to his bank to make a fraud report. I spoke to her and told her my plans and she hurriedly ran down to Probate court and put in for gaurdianship over my father. Not sure if anyone else noticed this, I thought it was pretty cool. Mikuni Rei #1: His number is 1 and on his front shirt logo, in my opinion, looks like the earth at first glance. Symbolizing that we only have “one world”. The clip on his cloak looks like a morning star. What I think of first when morning star is mentioned is “Satan/Lucifer”. (Although I’m not religious so my speculation is probably incorrect). But morning star is mentioned in the bible for both “Satan” and “Jesus”. He plays the role as a savior or destroyer of the ideal world he believes in.

Sanjou Keisuke #2: At first he was the only one where I couldn’t find a logo for “2″. But I noticed the two symbol on his shirt and it looks like a magatama. Which of course is similar to what we know, “Yin and Yang”. Good and evil. Sun and moon. Sanjou was an ex cop who swore to law and protect. Then eventually joined Adonis to destroy. He’s shown to waver between the two sides. His shirt also has a lion dog image (or Japanese Komainu) which are creatures symbolized as protective guardians.

The badge also says in English, “Oppose force with force.” Stars are represented as protective symbols and divine force. Souda is constantly referring to himself as “God” and is revealed to be protective/caring of his comrades in game. His keyword is loneliness, obviously for the fact that he has no one. Shunned by society, with only the “friends” in the digital world he seeks out to fill that void.

Hana is a troubled girl who relies on Isshiki and his music to “point her in the right direction”. It’s said many times that his music helps people through troubled times and that they could relate to it. Rather than Zero, she regards Isshiki as her true hope and “Savior” which caused her to become obsessed with him.

He also says to Hoshino that he’s aware he has small eyes (which are often closed in the game). Kitsune have small, narrowed eyes and a cunning smile. His hair is also almost light blonde/silver in colour. They are known to be wise/intelligent but vengeful. A classic tale of the kitsune is when it disguises itself to have a lovefamily. Until it’s true nature is revealed and is forced to leave the spouse and children, mirroring Ogata’s background.

Saeki Yuzuru #0: Saeki doesn’t seem to have anything on him to indicate his number because of course he IS “Zero”. Null, nothing. It may also be why his outfit is very simple too. However, his personal symbol seems to be the anemone flower. It’s shown on his chain, gun and cloak. None of the other Adonis members wears this. I even checked Kurose Shu’s cloak and he doesn’t have the design. The chain at his shirt collar is also a morning star (refer to Mikuni). Even Hoshino referred to Saeki as “like the Devil”. Anemone flowers are typically considered as bad luck and ill tidings. But of course the most famous connection it has is to Adonis, the Greek figure. (The organization name isn’t a coincidence!)
The origin of the flower was when Aphrodite wept over the body of her mortal lover, Adonis. The gods killed him over jealousy of their affair. While Aphrodite was crying, Adonis shed blood on the anemones that came from her tears and stained them red. In Christianity, red anemones symbolized the blood that Christ shed on the Crucifixion. Going back to the star at his collar; Lucifer is the Latin name for the morning star. Which is actually not even a star but, the planet Venus. Venus, the Roman goddess is equivalent to Aphrodite.
The flowers can also have positive meaning. Hoshino is constantly surrounded by purple or white anemones when together with the main love interests. Because those colours symbolizes “sincerity” and “protection from evil”. Red is Saeki’s colour, which means: death or forsaken love. The origin story about love and loss forever marked the anemone flower and made it a symbol of sadness in love. If Saeki had a keyword, I’d say it would be-
