Yo! UnibrowsheepZ here, though I go by Neoglorian these days. I'm looking for someone who's interested in doing a Pokemon RP with me. I have two main ideas listed down below, but first I'll lay down some expectations.
What I'm looking for:
-18+ I've known many great RPers younger than 18, but as a 24 YO I'm not comfortable with anyone younger than that.
-At least 1 paragraph generally, though sentences will be okay in very fast-paced scenes like Pokemon battles.
-I tend to only RP on discord
-I'm a fairly busy man, so I won't be able to reply all the time. However, I'll try for at least once a day or once every other day. Furthermore, I have a 'No Ghosting Guaranteed' policy, so if I'm not feeling the RP I will let you know.
-I will be playing a male and looking for someone to play either a male or female, it doesn't matter to me. If you want to play a male then I would prefer it be platonic, but if you're playing a female than we can do a bit of romance, though it's not necessary.
-No smut or NSFW. I like to keep it wholesome here, though we don't have to shy away from more adult themes.
-We can do doubling up main characters, though I would prefer just 1x1 for the first little while. Keeping a smaller team of Pokemon like 3-4 per character would also be ideal since it can get a little too much to keep track of otherwise.
-I typically default to third person present tense, but I've been known to slip between other tenses without realizing. I'm fairly good with grammar and always re-read and spell check my writing, but if you're a stickler for tenses you might want to move on by haha.
-I don't really like to use canon characters, so I would prefer if we use OCs. Furthermore, I'm a world builder, so I'm okay with creating a custom Pokemon region if we wanted to do that instead of a canon region.
Prompts:
Classic Adventure: Classic adventure is just as it sounds; two characters starting from the bottom and traveling a region (Canon or homebrew), getting the badges, beating the evil team, and going to the league. It could follow an episodic type of structure where we roughly plan out the RP episode by episode.
FTA Adventure: The 'Free Trainers Association', or FTA, is a decentralized group of elite and talented trainers unified by a shared mission: To protect the people from evil organizations, to guide and mentor new trainers, and to explore the mysteries of the Region. This style of adventure is more akin to the Pokemon Ranger games than the main series games. It would focus more on missions rather than one long unbroken string of an adventure.

Hello, I am looking for alternatives to cable for recording tv on my plex server. I do have the option to use an HDHOMERUN Prime with cable but I might move soon to a manufactured home so I don't want to limit my options. Does anyone know about FTA Satellite TV? What stuff can you watch with it in the United States, specifically Texas? I am specifically looking for Cartoon Network/Adult swim, CNN, Viceland, National Geographic, Discovery, and stuff I can get over rabbit ears. Anyone know anything about this? My son, 28/m, Got pulled over in Mississippi County, Arkansas, and was given a ticket for failure to stop and driving on suspended. He showed the officer the paperwork showing the restriction (back and forth to work or hospital if necessary). Officer told him, "well I've already wrote the ticket, just show the judge when you go to court and it will be dropped." FF to court date: he locked his keys in the truck and was about 15 minutes late to court. Was told to wait in a separate room with all the other "tardies". After waiting about an hour, a court officer tells them the judge had an emergency, they'd have to wait til she got back and to "follow me". They were lead down the hall to another room and was told they couldn't have their phones, so they handed them to the officer. Another 30-45 minutes goes by and another officer comes in to tell them the judge would not be returning that day and they all had to "spend the night" unless they just pay their tickets, in which case they could go. The officer was calling names and stating how much the fines were. When he got to my boy, he said "not you, you have to stay" which we later found out was a No-bail warrant for a Failure to Appear (FTA). My apologies for rambling. To the issue: (keep in mind-AT NO POINT was my boy told he was under arrest, he wasnt searched or fingerprinted or mugshots taken.) The men who couldn't pay their tickets asked for their phones so they could call work/home etc to let someone know whats going on. The officer handed their phones back to them and told them to keep it on speaker, and was led to a room to "dress out" (he figured this was to tell plain clothed staff and court people apart) he had his phone in his hand the WHOLE TIME. In. His. Hand.

It wasn't until he was in the pod and talking to the other inmates that he realized that YES, if he was there, he HAD, in fact, been arrested. And if the guards found that phone, he was going to prison. Scared to get in more trouble and confused, he hid the phone. Unfortunately, the other "tardy" got thru with a pack of cigarettes, long story short, they end up "tossing" the pod and found the phone.
After reading through some of the court documents, something jumped out at me: On the Criminal Information Sheet, the 1 charge reads...
COUNT 1: FURNISHING PROHIBITED ARTICLES ARK. CODE ANN. 5-54-119. The said defendant in the (name of district) of the Criminal Division of MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, did unlawfully and felonious in our about (date of incident), commit the offense of:
5-54-119. Furnishing prohibited articles. (It then goes on to cite the code)
(a) A person commits the offense of furnishing a prohibited article of he knowingly: (1) introduces a prohibited article into a correctional facility, the Arkansas State Hospital, or a juvenile training school; or (b) Furnishing or providing a weapon, intoxicating beverage, controlled substance, money's, or any other items that would facilitate an escape or violence within the facility is a Class B felony
Thereby committing the offense of FURNISHING PROHIBITED ARTICLES, said offense being a CLASS B FELONY against the peace and dignity of the state of Arkansas.
If it matters, everything, including punctuation, is copied verbatim. Also, there is evidence supporting my sons version of events.
So I guess my question is, reading how that particular portion of the penal code is written, reading how the actual charge is written, and hearing my entire life " "Ignorance of the law is no excuse" (and we are assuming the evidence supports my son's version) is it safe to assume, in this particular case, that ignorance of the law IS actually a valid excuse. ESPECIALLY, since the reason he was even there in the first place was never communicated, much less the rules of the facility.
Idk, maybe I'm grasping at straws. And yes, he has a private attorney, but as my son is an adult, I feel it would Come across as me questioning the expertise if I were to ask him myself.

And def not limiting this to male mentors-or even mentors in general. I have seen female student drive coaches acting just as irresponsibly). This behavior is not OK at any FIRST competition. If you see it. Report it. Send a student to the question box and tell the FTA and head ref exactly what happened. Tell them there is adult doing xyz (making you uncomfortable, raising their voice, cursing, whatever it is). Now they are all volunteers and results will vary but I have seen a head ref take an adult coach aside and give them a warning. Do not tolerate the behavior. Ever.

There are many ways to prolong one’s lifespan, if one knows how to look for it, but the common expectation is that player characters will raise families or take on apprentices, and eventually pass the rod, in the early game.
In the late game, it is the opposite, with greater access to resources making it easier and easier to find a way of prolonging one’s lifespan, though there are hurdles along the way.

Near the upper ceiling, you can find ruins and artifacts of a post-futuristic society, much as you can find seemingly rudimentary artifacts capable of equally great or greater feats, the byproduct of individual genius rather than sweeping societal advancement.
Applied magic tends to have far more of a limit in "what can be achieved economically" than "what can be theoretically achieved", when it comes to pushing up infrastructure on a societal level.
The mood can range from epic, to lighthearted, dark fantasy, or even survival horror, depending on exactly where the players characters are, and their own conditions. Great forests and other untamed areas are more dangerous the deeper you get in them. Many extreme regions can have obscure adverse environmental effects. There is a massive gap between the capabilities of individuals raised in a great power's core regions, where all was provided for their education and growth, and in the fringes.

Saturday or sunday afternoon, GMT-3. Which and at what hour exactly will be decided based on the availability of the applications I get, and what a stable arrangement turns out to be.
Standard session length will be 4 hours, but sessions may run longer, or there may be extra sessions or solo sessions, depending on circumstances and availability.
I am currently not available on weekday evenings, but that is likely to change in a few months, if you want to leave an application just in case.
The game is planned to start on January 7th or 8th, though I will be reaching out to prospective players for preparations through December, and advertising until the holidays.

How many players are you looking for?
I am looking for 4 players at most, but that limit can be budged slightly if an application looks exceptionally suitable, or if two applications look like they’d mesh exceptionally well.

Does this game have adult content? How is it handled?
Adult content and themes are allowed and covered normally. Anything too explicit gets hinted at and followed up with a fade to black, the scene resuming from the aftermath.
If there’d be developments within the fade to black relevant for the aftermath, the player will be politely asked questions in third person.

Does this game have sensitive content? How is it handled?
Dark themes like human trafficking, substance abuse, torture, neglect, abandonment, among other topics can come up if a player looks under the surface or spends time in the wrong areas.
It will never be gratuitous, and it will always be handled seriously, but I believe they can directly or indirectly constitute important setting elements and character drives.
In the majority of cases, those elements will be implied, rather than overtly described.
If any particular sensitive content is prone to cause a player a more acute discomfort than is just inherent to that sort of topic, I encourage that player to contact me beforehand about it, and we will handle it like two sensible adults.

The setting does not go out of its way to promote or demonize any political, religious or philosophical view.
But characters, societies and schools of magic are partly built around their views on each of those topics, and that may at times lead to conflicting depictions.

You will find LGBTQ+ characters and themes ingame, and you can expect them to be treated seriously and respectfully by the narrative. Those themes are not at the front of the narrative, but can be stumbled on in different contexts.
If you believe you might be negatively affected by situations dealing with the dramas of said characters, I am obligated to warn you that the narrative may at times pose situations which may prove uncomfortable.
Know, however, that by posing said situations the game also allows and encourages you to play as an active agent in them, and influence their outcome.

Applied magic tends to have far more of a limit in "what can be achieved economically" than "what can be theoretically achieved", when it comes to pushing up infrastructure on a societal level.
