Lamictal lowered body temps

R5 from 5D2, perspective

2024.05.26 07:31 adsarelies R5 from 5D2, perspective

Before switching to the R5 a few years ago, I had been using the 5D2 for over a decade. I've been very familiar with the R5, brought it along many trips and produced a lot of great images. When I was packing for an upcoming trip today, I decided to pack the 5D2 body as a backup. It had been sitting in my cabinet for a while. I put a fresh battery in, mem card, and attached a lens.
I took a minute to look around the unit. Its exterior still looks exceedingly well. Ah there is that physical mode dial, which I sometimes miss on the R5. I turned it on. My old muscle memory kicked in surprisingly quick. It was like I instantly knew what to do with it, even though some of the buttons and dials plaxement are different on the R5 that i've gotten very used to.
The image quality still hold up great versus the ones produced by the R5, lower mp notwithstanding. The colors are just as rich and the details are just as sharp (not 1:1 pixel peeping, just normal screen viewing).
However, the autofocus, oh my god, now it feels like an eternity compared to the R5's autofocus. It had never felt so slow to me before. But now I've gotten so used to the performance of the R5's autofocus, it's pretty hard to live without.

2024.05.26 07:23 Usual_Tip7569 Abilify - Quitting Cold Turkey after a Week?

I was prescribed abilify bc doctors at the psychiatric hospital I went to think I may be bipolar. They prescribed abilify 5mg and lamotrigine 25mg to start. However, I am already eating like crazy (I’m already 15 lbs overweight) and have heard stories about people gaining huge amounts of weight. I just lost weight from taking lexapro and don’t want my self esteem to go even lower. I have body dysmporhia and have had eating issues in the past. Would quitting abilify cold Turkey after a week be okay? I was just on 5 mg. I really don’t want this side effect. I’ve also been having increased intrusive thoughts. Other than that it gotten rid of suicidal ideation but idk if it’s worth it long term because I’m constantly dissociating and feel very slow. I feel a little more happy and stable but don’t think the weight gain would be worth it.

2024.05.26 07:18 lilmisschainsaw 12 week old chihuahua with strange pain and behavior

First, I want to say he will be going to an emergency vet in the morning. There are none local, none open within an hour's drive, and there are serious storms in our area.
Species: dog Age: 12 weeks Sex/neuter: male, intact Breed: chihuahua Body weight: 1lbs 12oz History: has episodes of hypoglycemia. Does play with a heeler of similar age, we think their play may be at fault. He was acting off earlier this afternoon; just a bit lethargic and whining occasionally when picked up. He seemed to get more sore as the day progressed til it worsened considerably around 10pm. Clinical signs: he's lethargic, reacts with pain to touch on his throat. Avoids lowering his head, has a tendency to look upwards like he's howling. Doesn't reliably swallow drool, so it can get quite bad. Has an appetite, won't drink from a bowl but will swallow willingly from a droppesyringe. Is worse after sleeping, then gradually seems to get a bit better before sleeping again. Duration:8 hours or so General Location: Kansas
We are thinking he got injured while playing, and is just really, really sore. He is being kept quiet. What more can we do til he sees a vet?

As an avid indoor cyclist, I can attest to the comfort and convenience of this Exercise Bike. I've been using it for a few weeks now, and I'm genuinely impressed with the durability and design of this bike. There's an easy-to-use resistance system that provides a challenging workout, even for the most experienced riders. However, one drawback I've noticed is the seat's discomfort after prolonged use. A padded seat cover could remedy this issue, but it's worth considering before purchasing.
The electrodeless speed change feature is a game-changer, making it easy to customize your workout. The weighted flywheel and ultra-comfortable sport saddle also contribute to a smooth and enjoyable riding experience. Furthermore, the sleek design and LED display make this bike an attractive addition to any home gym.
Despite a few minor hiccups with the seat and assembly time, I would still recommend this Exercise Bike for anyone looking to maintain their fitness levels at home. With its adjustable resistance, solid construction, and stylish appearance, this bike is an excellent investment for your health and well-being.

I recently added the MaxKare Exercise Bike Stationary to my home gym, and I must say, it has been a game-changer for my daily workout routine. As someone who values convenience and ease of use in my exercise equipment, I was pleasantly surprised by this recumbent bike's features and performance.
First and foremost, the ergonomic design of the seat and backrest are incredibly comfortable. The high-density sponge cushioning provides ample support for my lower back while also making it easy to maintain a proper riding position. Additionally, the adjustable lever allows me to customize the fit for my specific height, ensuring a smooth and efficient workout experience.
One of the standout features of this recumbent exercise bike is the iPad holder, which enables me to enjoy my favorite shows or music while I pedal away. This added entertainment factor not only keeps me motivated during workouts but also allows me to exercise longer without getting bored.
Another highlight of this product is its easy portability, thanks to the transportation wheels located at the front of the bike. Moving it from one room to another or storing it when not in use is a breeze, making it a versatile option for any living space.
The recumbent exercise bike also offers an 8-level magnetic resistance system, allowing me to customize my workout intensity as needed. The LCD monitor displays all my exercise metrics, including time, speed, distance, calories burned, and heart rate, making it easy to track my progress over time.
Performance-wise, this MaxKare Exercise Bike Stationary delivers a smooth and whisper-quiet riding experience, so I can exercise without disturbing others in my household. It's worth mentioning that the weight capacity of this bike is 300 LBS, making it suitable for a wide range of users.
While there's a lot to love about this recumbent exercise bike, there are a few minor drawbacks I've encountered. First, the seat could benefit from additional padding for optimal comfort during longer workout sessions. Additionally, the quality of the display could be improved, as some users have reported issues with clarity and visibility.
In conclusion, the MaxKare Exercise Bike Stationary has been an excellent addition to my home gym setup. Its comfortable design, customizable resistance levels, and easy portability make it a viable option for individuals looking to maintain an active lifestyle at home.

Mini Exercise Bike for Core Strengthening

I recently added the vidaXL Cardio Mini Cycle Exercise Bike to my daily routine, and I am genuinely impressed with its performance. This little exercise gem is perfect for those who are always on the go and don't have the time or space for traditional gym equipment.
One of the highlight features of this compact cycle is its multilevel resistance adjustments, allowing me to customize my workout sessions to be as intense or gentle as I need them to be. Whether I'm pedaling on the carpet or using it underneath my desk while working, it provides an effective way of keeping my muscles toned and my heart rate up.
The heavy-duty steel construction of the vidaXL Cardio Mini Cycle Exercise Bike ensures that it's built to last, which is essential when considering purchasing workout equipment. Additionally, its affordable price tag and ease of use make it a must-have for anyone looking to incorporate more fitness into their lives without breaking the bank.
However, there are a couple of cons worth mentioning. Firstly, the lack of a display can make it difficult to track progress and set goals during workouts. Secondly, the cycle tends to slip on some surfaces, requiring users to find creative solutions to keep it in place.
Overall, I am thrilled with my vidaXL Cardio Mini Cycle Exercise Bike purchase. Its compact size, customizable resistance, and durable construction make it a fantastic addition to any home workout routine. Despite the minor drawbacks, I would highly recommend this product to anyone seeking a convenient and effective way to stay active and improve their overall fitness.

Bladez Fitness Master GS Indoor Cycle Bike: Quiet, Smooth Cycling Experience

https://preview.redd.it/7v69zd4kep2d1.jpg?width=768&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2912008d0e0372928ffc7bde95d5dc76d59c0bdb
I recently purchased the Bladez Fitness Master GS indoor cycle bike, and it's become a staple in my daily workout routine. What immediately stood out to me was how quiet and smooth it was, even during intense rides. The 44-pound flywheel and belt drive system make for a near silent ride that I can enjoy without disturbing anyone else in the house.
The adjustable resistance, micro-adjustable seat, and handlebars allow me to customize my ride to fit my needs perfectly. The padded foam seat and quiet operation make this a comfortable and enjoyable workout experience. However, the display quality could use some improvement, as it tends to go blank after about 30 seconds of inactivity.
Overall, I'm happy with the Bladez Fitness Master GS indoor cycle bike. The high-quality build and easy assembly make it a great choice for indoor cycling. The only real downside for me is the discomfort of the ultra-hard seat, but that's easily remedied with a cushier option. If you're looking for a quiet, smooth ride with customizable settings, this indoor cycle bike is definitely worth considering.

Yosuda Recumbent Exercise Bike for Home

https://preview.redd.it/cjzvs5ikep2d1.jpg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3cc776b43606360bb0f9c0af41f38b0200d9acb6
As a fitness enthusiast, I love the Yosuda Recumbent Exercise Bike for its comfortable design and smooth performance. The seat is spacious and cushioned, making it perfect for long workout sessions without causing strain on my back. The machine is also incredibly quiet, so I can watch TV or listen to music while I ride.
The 16-level resistance feature is quite impressive, offering a range of workout intensities to suit my fitness goals. It starts off gentle but can be adjusted to provide a challenging workout when needed. Assembly was a breeze with straightforward instructions that didn't take much time at all.
One issue I have noticed is the readability of the display panel under low light conditions. It would be great if the panel were brighter or had backlit buttons for easier viewing. Additionally, the resistance might feel too light for extremely fit individuals seeking a more intense workout.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the Yosuda Recumbent Exercise Bike has been an enjoyable addition to my home workout routine. Its comfortable design, ease of use, and quiet operation make it a worthwhile investment for those looking to stay fit and healthy in the comfort of their own home.

Budget-Friendly Home Studio Bike with LED Lights for Compact Cardio Workouts

The Boom Bike has been an incredible addition to my home workout routine. It's like having a cardio party in my living room, with its unique LED lights that add color and excitement to each workout session. The interactive and motivational classes make me feel like I'm part of a larger fitness community, and the competitive aspect of being able to compete with friends and family adds an extra layer of fun to my workouts.
One of the standout features of the Boom Bike is its ease of use. The assembly process was straightforward, and the instructions provided were clear and easy to follow. Additionally, the bike is sleek and compact, fitting perfectly in my small apartment without taking up too much space.
However, there are a few minor drawbacks worth mentioning. The seat on the Boom Bike could be more comfortable, especially for longer rides. In order to alleviate this issue, I had to invest in a cushioned seat cover, which has made my workouts more enjoyable. Additionally, I wish there were more options for class durations, as the current 15 or 30-minute options don't always fit my schedule.
Despite these minor cons, the Boom Bike has been a fantastic addition to my fitness routine, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to elevate their home workout experience. The convenience of being able to work out from the comfort of my own home on my own schedule has been a game-changer, and the quality and variety of classes keep me motivated and engaged. Overall, the Boom Bike has exceeded my expectations and has become an essential part of my daily life.

As someone who appreciates quality and durability, I'm thrilled to have discovered the BodyCraft SPR Indoor Cycle. Its robust construction and full commercial rating make it a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to enhance their indoor workout routine. However, one downside I've noticed is that its heavyweight might be a concern for those with limited storage space.
Overall, the BodyCraft SPR Indoor Cycle has exceeded my expectations and has rapidly become a beloved member of my home gym. If you're in the market for a top-notch indoor cycle, I couldn't recommend this one enough!

Indoor Cycling Experience with NOHrD Bike

https://preview.redd.it/e496fwwlep2d1.jpg?width=1151&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7c1b1c3fe7f059496847a5f21a4b5fe3af87d8ed
As a dedicated cyclist, I have been using the beautiful and sleek NOHrD Bike Indoor Cycle Walnut for some time now, and I must say, it's truly a game-changer. The exquisite craftsmanship and solid construction make it a perfect fit for any studio or home gym.
One standout feature is the innovative planetary gearing system, which provides a smooth and seamless pedaling experience. Add to that the magnetic brake technology, and you have an indoor cycle with extraordinary durability. The infinitely variable resistance allows me to adjust the intensity of my workout on-the-fly, keeping me engaged and challenged during my cycling sessions.
The minimalist design of the NOHrD Bike is a major highlight for me. Its sleek and athletic appearance not only looks amazing but also contributes to its overall stability within a minimal amount of space. I also appreciate the easy-to-handle rubberized rollers, which make it a breeze to position and store the bike.
Incorporating the NOHrD Bike into my daily workout routine has been a fantastic decision. It provides a low-impact workout that's gentle on my joints while effectively engaging my quads, glutes, hamstrings, and calves. The ability to perform both upright and racing positions adds variety to my workout and keeps me motivated.
Utilizing the NOHrD Bike App has further enhanced my indoor cycling experience. With pre-designed workouts and performance data analysis, it's easy to plan and track my cycling progress. It also provides the added convenience of being compatible with phone/tablet holders, making it a breeze to access and control my workout with just a few taps on my device.
However, I must point out that there have been some issues with the quality of service from the manufacturer. In my case, the transmission mechanism broke after 18 months, and despite numerous follow-ups, a replacement part has yet to arrive. Additionally, one of the pedals snapped off and replacement part is still due. These minor setbacks have been frustrating, but they certainly do not overshadow the fantastic performance and visual appeal of the NOHrD Bike.
In conclusion, the NOHrD Bike Indoor Cycle Walnut is an exceptional indoor cycling option. Its innovative features, stylish design, and overall build quality make it an attractive addition to any home gym or studio environment. While there have been some service-related issues, the overall experience has been nothing short of excellent, and I would highly recommend the NOHrD Bike to anyone searching for a reliable and performance-driven indoor cycle for their fitness needs.

I've been using the Cyclace Exercise Bike for a few months now, and it's made a significant difference in my daily workout routine. As someone who loves cycling but doesn't always have the time to go outside, this indoor bike has been a game-changer.
First off, the build quality is impressive. It's sturdy and well-constructed, making it feel like a high-end exercise machine despite its affordable price point. The 36 lbs weight flywheel is powerful and smooth, providing a realistic cycling experience that's not too hard to start but still challenging enough for more experienced riders.
Another standout feature is how easy it is to adjust. Both the seat and handlebars are easily adjustable to accommodate different heights, making it suitable for both my husband and me. Plus, the LCD monitor gives you all the necessary information about your workout, including time, distance, speed, calories burned, and heart rate.
However, there are a few downsides worth mentioning. Some users have reported issues with squeaky pedals, which can be distracting during your workout. Additionally, the seat isn't perfect - it's quite soft and cushioned, which might not be everyone's preference.
But overall, the Cyclace Exercise Bike has been an excellent addition to our home gym. Its sturdiness, ease of use, and realistic cycling experience easily outweigh any minor drawbacks. If you're looking for a reliable indoor bike without breaking the bank, I highly recommend giving the Cyclace a try.

The Cyclace also has an easy-to-use console that displays my speed, distance, calories burned, and time taken. This helps me keep track of my progress and motivates me to push harder.
However, it's worth noting that some users have reported issues with the seat adjustment, and it can be a bit uncomfortable at first. It's important to take breaks and gradually build up endurance to make the most of this exercise bike.

Miss my 2016 but this fills the craving well
Haven’t had it long, sunk $1600 in fixing it already, then got sent out of state to work for three weeks.
It’s a 5 speed, 2005, 105k miles. Cammed, headers, lowering springs, Hurst short throw, ford racing throttle body, MSD coil packs, some tasteful aftermarket bits. I have been thoroughly enjoying it.
Previous owner curbed every wheel on it and they have spacers, once the tires are done for (they’re new) I’ll have to get some wider wheels and eliminate the spacers. Still considering wheels, not sure what would suit it yet. First time having a vert, never been a fan of them but the black makes it work to me.

2024.05.26 06:51 N8_Darksaber1111 Ants are turning people into zombies for global conquest.

Zombie like outbreaks but instead of a virus, it's an alien or mutated species of ant that turns its victims into a mobile nest having cleared out the body of all but the necessary organs and muscles and filled the interior of the carcass with sand and dirt and other nested building material. You're nothing left but muscle skin bone tendons a heart lung and brains completely dependent on the colony to keep you living as you travel from City to City infecting more people increasing the hives population
~~~~~~~~~ Scenario 1.
You see a withered looking husk shambling down the road and as they approach you begin to notice black dots crawling or trailing all over their body. Once they're close enough that you should be able to see details on their face you begin to realize that their bugs but as they get closer and the details get finer you begin to realize that they're not just bugs but that these bugs are crawling in and out of this person's mouth and nose and ears in trails and groups like an active ant hill.
You begin to stumble backwards and start to turn around but before you break your line of sight of them, their mouth drops as a black mass flows out of their mouth in a large swarm of ants pour out into the street and engulf you and you feel them working their way into every hole cutting and chewing and knowing away at you. Your innards, you're intestines, your kidneys and testicles and ovaries devoured or dragged out of your mouth and other orifices, dragged out of their new nest like unwanted drapes and carpeting until you too have been turned into a nest.
Just the sound of them crawling and scratching around inside of your skull and inside of your ears and behind your eyes.
Sometimes they pour out of your mouth to swarm it straight dog or cat, other times you find yourself going to vomit in a trash can only for the ants to come out instead and to drag into you anything they think of as food.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scenario 2.
You have your dog outside at night when the pandemic first started, you're sound asleep until you hear your dog bark and Yelp but when you go outside, it's gone.
2 weeks pass by until you see your dog again; excited you are up to it and you immediately go to hug it but after a moment when the incitement has cleared away just enough, you begin to realize something is wrong.
Your dog reeks of death but that's not the worst of it; Tuffs of fur keep falling off of him every time you go to pet him order rub at him, there's no breath no panting not even the sides of his chest seem to be rising or lowering giving signs of breathing.
The dog just stands there staring at you with a blank expression but that's when you feel it, the crawling across the back of your hand end up and down your arm hair.
You pull your hand away to see it covered in ants as they March rapidly up your arm you go to brush them off but that's when you hear a low dry Dusty growl coming from your dog. You look at them only to see them jump at you and as they give you one massive lick across the face a swarm of ants come charging across like knights upon A drawbridge!
You scream and try to wipe them away as they burrow into your sockets and your dog lunges once more at you taking a large bite out of the side of your chest. The ants pour into the gaping wound and just as quickly begin to patch the hole making quick work on your insides as they construct their new home within you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scenario 3.
Perhaps this random person has found themselves kept alive being farmed by these human ant colonies.
Humans are forced to farm food and reproduce while elderly population are used to feed the colony and people deemed unfit for labor or those who are deemed too dangerous to be kept alive are turned into new nests.
Of course they may also occasionally turn children or parents or your loved ones into nests as a form of punishment or just as a cruel way to remind you they are in charge.
There's no bright side to this movie and it just keeps getting worse.
Maybe the plot ends with this person inevitably being turned into a nest and finding to their horror that they are still conscious even after the prcoess has been completed.
The ants control everything in him yet they preserve his consciousness and if it's not just insanity, it seems as if their scratching in his ears is being done in a rhythmic manner to sound like Whispers tormenting and mocking him, narrating all the Terrible Things they are making him do to his loved ones as he eats his neighbor's kids to sustain The Colony or infects his son to keep his wife in line after she tried pleading with him.
My Swing Trading Guide & Routine
------------------START OF FIRST POST------------------
One year ago I decided to pick up swing trading instead of long term investing based on stock fundamentals because time is very limited to me and I don’t have the time left to sit and wait for the big gains to come around. I needed a system for generating gains consistently with little exposure to risk in bad market conditions. Little did I know that completing this system would take almost a year!
I am writing this in hopes that the reader who is just starting to learn swing trading or even those who are halfway into their journey can read this and relate to the mistake I have made and figure out the mistakes they have yet to make so that they can improve their process at a much faster rate than I did. I will go over all steps of progress that I have made along with the mistakes made and lessons learned.
Learning the chart patterns
This was the very first introduction that I had to swing trading. When you research about trading, you will inevitably learn about chart patterns like the VCP, or bullish/ bearish flags/ pennants/ triangles, darvas boxes, etc. What you need to understand is that all these patterns are just a way of interpreting the supply and demand mechanics of the market. ALL of these patterns work (unless you are drawing a thousand funky lines on the chart and trying to see things that don’t exist).
As a beginner, don’t freak out and over-study every single pattern, start trading using just a couple of patterns, understand the mechanics behind them and you will soon just trade most other patterns without even realizing it. It’s never the patterns you are trading, it's the characteristics they share (volume contraction, price range tightness, relative strength, & breakouts with high volumes etc.).
Making poor entries (Incorrect setups, Late entries)
After learning the patterns, I made a few successful trades but soon afterwards I ran into the first problem. I found myself drifting away from the setups I learned and made a few trades that actually did not have the correct setup - I was trying to make the reality fit to my imagination. After every loss I would go back to see what I did wrong and found this to be the reason. Sometimes the volume pattern was incorrect. Sometimes the base was not tight enough.
Another mistake I was making was that I was copying the trades of my mentors or peers and trying to enter too late due to FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), thinking to myself that 1-2% inefficient entry wouldn’t matter. But I was wrong- late entries matter a lot in the long run by skewing your risk-reward ratio, so you should never make late entries unless the market itself fills your order at a late price. The lesson here for the reader is that try to make every trade perfectly- make a mental checklist of the characteristics of your setups and don’t enter them if it's not perfect. Tightness before the breakout, high volume on the breakout, low volume on the down days prior to the breakout, overall volume drop, everything has to be perfect. Don’t settle for less. Review your trades often- try to be so perfect that the last 9/10 entries in your journal don’t have any errors from your side.
Stop loss level mistakes
While reviewing my losers, I also found that sometimes my stop losses were incorrect often, they were too narrow, or too wide, or at a static level that had nothing to do with the trade- You might find that stop losses don’t always matter- sometimes your winners just run, but over a long period of time, the trades that you get knocked out of before running to the target will add up and accumulate. Your stop loss should be at a level where it gets triggered if you are wrong, or it gets triggered if you are very unlucky. Your stops should not be getting triggered in a normal price action noise.
To simplify, if you are entering a high volume breakout and you catch it later in the day in the upper half of the candle, you can set a stop loss slightly below the day’s low, as a reversal from such a strong day often means that the trade does not go your way. If you catch the breakout early, then you can afford a deeper stop loss, but you need to interpret the price action always and sometimes exit at breakeven if you see warning signs. The stop loss is unfortunately the one thing where discretion is more helpful than always being objective. Review all your trades, check where you placed the stop loss and figure out if that level is where you could conclude that the trade wasn’t working. Try not to have stop losses more than 4-5% for a good risk-reward ratio.
Not improving stop loss (Protect your breakeven)
Sometimes the market just sucks and there is very high volatility, you don’t have the luxury of sitting back and letting your stop loss do the work. If the index is in a range bound market (touching the same high and lows over a few months) then all your 4-5% stop losses in fresh trades will be hit every time the market approaches its resistance and turns, and you will give back a chunk of your profit if you are heavily invested.
If the trade starts going your way (let's say you’re up 5%) then start improving your stop loss. Maybe it doesn’t need to be at 5% below your entry anymore, move it as high as possible where you feel that random noise in price action or a pullback doesn’t knock you out. Remember the section before- the stop should be at a place where it gets hit when the trade is going wrong. If your stop is moved to breakeven you have 0 risk left in the trade- use this to your advantage as often as possible. Mark Minnervini describes this very accurately- “always improve your worst case scenario”.
The Pyramiding madness
Soon after correcting my stop loss mistakes, another correction had come and gone, and we were in another small rally. I made some good trades here, however I noticed that I was making too little money for my account size- The person I was learning from told me that I needed to pyramid (add to my position progressively as the trade went in my favor). And this is where I made new mistakes. When I added to positions, I added too early and my trades just became heavier causing me more risk, or I added too much when I was in profit, this caused my average price to go way up and a minor pullback caused my profitable trade to become breakeven.
Slowly pyramiding also doesn’t work well in small range bound market where you get only 10-12 good trading sessions in a rally before it turns back down, so I advice the reader to start using pyramiding only when the index has broken through and is at all time high levels & advancing unidirectionally. Decide your max allocation beforehand (let's say based on your stop loss and risk you can only invest 10%- then decide your initial size and pyramid addition sizes before you enter the trade and don’t make discretionary decisions while in the trade).
Personally I still have not completely learned pyramiding- I prefer to allocate a decently sized position without pyramiding (The market is very range bound at the time of writing this)
Position Sizing errors- small winner and big losers
Due to lack of confidence, I used to make very small entries in stocks while learning the process. After watching them move up quickly, I would make larger entries and watch them draw down or hit my stop loss because by the time I scaled up, the rally was almost over. You have to understand that there is no way to be completely risk free- you cannot win without betting anything, always make meaningful entries or don’t enter at all. Your confidence should come from trusting your system, not your short term outcomes.
GTT Orders as an entry tool
Once my entry and exit strategy was almost concrete and I had enough confidence, I started making better entries, however I would always get out performed by full time traders- Their entries were always more efficient than mine, this is where I learned how to use a GTT order to place trades better. If you think that you should enter a stock above a specific level, you can put a GTT buy order at slightly above that level. When that buy order gets filled, keep a very close eye on the intraday movement to see if the entry was right- are the volumes correct? Is the breakout failing? After entry is triggered I wait till the end of day- if the price for the day is about to close under my breakeven & volume was weak, I exit with a marginal loss. Personally I only put GTT in trades where the chart is very perfect and which I can’t afford to miss. Out of 10 stocks on my watchlist, I set a GTT on maybe 2 or 3 stocks.
Trying too many things
In the middle of the year I got into and tried a lot of different lanes of trading- intraday on different timeframes, different strategies promoted by youtubers, and eventually decided to stick to swing trading. If you as a beginner start experimenting with something else while you are learning swing trading, make sure you do it in your extra time, do not let your side adventures take your focus away from what you are learning.
Eventually you will get back to swing trading and drop these random ventures, or just get lost on some unclear path with nothing to show for the time spent. Once you pick up swing trading for learning, stick to this and this only. The only other thing you probably can do along with swing trading is buy some stocks for your long term portfolio, which is healthy for your financial growth & doesn’t take as much time.
Market direction system
Finally after all my small losses & wins, mistakes and lessons I had learned a system of trading. But I still felt as if something was missing- Every book and resource kept telling me to “trust the setups” or do progressive exposure to risk, but in bad markets this resulted in me taking multiple trades and all of them failing (I have gone 0 wins and 10 losses in a correction, losing 5% of my capital), and in good markets I would make the money back. Sure I was still profitable, but it did not feel right- I felt like there should be an objective signal to stop taking entries and a signal to start trading again, so that I could stay out of weak markets. I studied the charts and discussed with my mentor about this- and created my objective entry-exit signal. I look at 2 indices (small cap and nifty 500) and market breadth (how many stocks are still up trending and how many have entered their downtrend.
This system is a warning sign in an uptrend- when it tells me I stop taking new entries, tighten the stop losses and cut losing positions immediately. When there is a correction, it tells me to resume trading so I take my first two trades after a buy signal. Once I fleshed this part out, finally I felt like a complete trader. I dodged a correction perfectly, and caught the low of a rally and made good money.
I cannot stress this enough- an objective market direction signal is the most important thing you need to create as a trader as most of your entries will fail in a bad market no matter how perfectly you make them, and even a monkey can flip a coin and pick stocks in a good market and stay above breakeven.
Putting it all together
Maybe you are tired of reading too many words and waiting for me to actually say something concrete instead of abstract ideas and generic lessons found in books. So I will share my system, which if followed will guarantee a profitable outcome if you trade with it for a year, provided that you are disciplined and don’t violate your own rules. You can go through it and apply what you think is valuable or missing in your own system. Following is my trading guide, which I personally follow. I am a short term trader, you can tweak it as per your timeframe (For example, using 20 EMA as a guide instead of 9 EMA which I use)
--------------------END OF FIRST POST-------------------------
--------------------START OF SECOND POST-----------------------
My Trading routine and strategy
Every trader must have their own trading guide- an objective system that they follow majority of the time, with only a few discretionary decisions. Without an objective system, your results will not be consistent. This is my trading system and routine.
Market Direction Guide
Buying Guide
Only trade these two setups, on the DAILY chart:
You can trade any setup that you are comfortable with. It can be moving average crossovers, etc. But the above setups work fine for me.
2024.05.26 06:26 Unique_Chemical_7833 AM5 Pc Build Help (memory stability issues)
Hey! I’m a new Pc builder who just built their first Pc, and man am I frustrated. I consider myself tech savvy (with the help of YouTube and google), but I for the life of me can not figure this out.
I built my Pc, and didn’t seem to find any issues at first. Booted first try, no issues getting into windows 11, but booting up some stress tests and Minecraft (it was on sale and I thought it would be good to test out the new build haha) quickly changed that. Random computer restarts, crash to desktop, lots of errors in OCCT, fail memtest 86 (failed with errors in test 9). This is without expo/emp enabled. I’ve tried it both ways. So reasonably (or at least I thought), I thought the issue was the ram, so I bought another set of ram, and another… same issue on all 3 sets. I have updated all drivers, flashed bios to latest version, updated windows, tried over volting the ram, tried under volting the ram, loosening timings, lowering clock speed (all the way to 3600 mT/s). I’ve tried re-seating the cpu, tried one ram stick at a time, tried all the slots, etc. I’ve also tried soooo many different bios settings. Any help is appreciated greatly.
I’ve also run benchmarks, which run fine, and show the speeds I’d expect. None of my temps seem out of the ordinary either (ram temp (as reported by OCCT) have been anywhere from 40 to 55 Celsius).
Specs:
Be quite 500fx case
Ryzen 7600x
Rx 6800 graphics card
Gigabyte B650 elite ax v2 mother board (currently on bios 24c)
Be quite pure loop fx 240mm
Western digital black 2tb nvme m.2
Corsair Rm 750e fully modular
Ram I’ve tried: G. Skill ripjaws s5 32gb 6400 cl32 G. Skill flare s5 32gb 6000 cl30 Corsair vengeance 5600 cl 40
I can still boot into windows no issue, but keep running into the same stability issues. My only thought now is to replace the motherboard? Although I’m unsure. Again. Any help would be oh so greatly appreciated
🔗Automatic Resetting Airgun Target for Stress-Free Shooting Practice
https://preview.redd.it/wavafe7k6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ebcd005b72837bec1405aa4b0bcd3ddd3495ae0
The Birchwood Casey Airgun Gallery Resetting Target proved to be a reliable and durable accessory for my airgun. With its high-quality steel construction, the target remained sturdy even after countless lead pellet impacts. The innovative spin design of the target made it easy to use, as it automatically reset itself after each shot, saving me time and eliminating the hassle of manually resetting it.
One feature that stood out to me was the compact and portable design of the target. The lightweight construction and easy storage made it convenient to use in a variety of settings, making it perfect for airgun enthusiasts who enjoy practicing their skills outdoors or at a range.
However, one downside I experienced with the target was that it was designed specifically for lead pellets. This meant that attempting to use the target with anything else, such as 22 rimfire bullets, was not recommended due to potential damage to the target.
Overall, the Birchwood Casey Airgun Gallery Resetting Target provided a fun and effective way for me to practice my airgun shooting skills, thanks to its innovative features and reliable construction.
🔗Daisy NRA 5-Meter BB Targets for Enhanced Marksmanship and Championship Performance
https://preview.redd.it/1ooqc3qk6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=00467e16eaa4b962875c9ee7f862ffc0620cca66
I recently started practicing with a Daisy Air Rifle and noticed that improving my marksmanship was a key factor in mastering the sport. That's when I stumbled upon these official Daisy NRA 5-Meter BB Targets. They proved to be an essential addition to my training routine.
One striking feature was the precision and accuracy these targets provided. Perfect for honing my shooting skills, they're designed to help me feel confident, making my practice more productive. Another aspect I found fascinating was their bullseye illustration, which made targeting a breeze.
Additionally, their hanging mount proved quite practical as I could easily set them up for each session. What's more, each pack includes 50 targets, which, let's be honest, was more than I ever expected. This feature helped keep my training consistent and enjoyable.
Despite their excellent features, a drawback I discovered was that the targets weren't auto-resetting. It meant I needed to manually reset them between shots, which, while not detrimental, felt like an unnecessary extra step.
All in all, I found great value in the Daisy NRA 5-Meter BB Targets. They were reasonably priced, easy to order, and arrived promptly. Plus, their high rating speaks to their overall customer satisfaction. If you're looking to up your accuracy game, I'd give these targets a shot.
🔗Daisy Red Ryder Starter Kit - Pump BB Gun Accessories
https://preview.redd.it/x0mkax0l6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4d2d86f16dc0ffba57edea3f6807fe10260d300f
The Daisy Red Ryder Starter Kit has been a game-changer in my household. It arrived at just the right time to complement my daughter's Red Ryder BB gun.
This kit has everything you could possibly need to kickstart a shooting adventure, including a durable gun sleeve, a tin of 25 assorted Red Ryder shooting gallery targets, and high-quality shooting glasses. The shooting glasses fit my daughter perfectly and she loves wearing them as they add a touch of coolness and safety to her shooting experience. The tin of BBs is conveniently designed and holds enough ammunition to keep the fun going for a while.
The targets, while simple, are perfect for honing her aim and precision. Overall, the Daisy Red Ryder Starter Kit has been an excellent investment, and I highly recommend it to any parent looking for a safe, fun, and affordable way to introduce their child to the thrill of target shooting.
🔗Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun Fun Shooting Kit
https://preview.redd.it/9y41r7hl6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b1f37061cac2414707e93f36d5daf64296afebec
I recently tried the Daisy Red Ryder Fun Kit myself and had quite the adventure. Firstly, the set truly comes with everything you need for an exciting shooting experience. However, I must say, it took me a while to get used to it.
One of the key features of this kit is the renowned Red Ryder BB gun. It's smooth and easy to hold, but the accuracy was quite disappointing. I found myself missing targets more often than I would have liked. On the bright side, at least I could appreciate the classic design of the gun.
To enhance the shooting experience, the kit also comes with shooting glasses and a tin of BBs. I must admit, the glasses were convenient and provided some protection while I was busy aiming at targets. The BBs, however, seemed like a cheap alternative and didn't always penetrate the targets.
The fun paper targets provided were a nice touch, but the distance limitations of the gun took away some of the enjoyment. I had to be extremely close to hit the targets, and even then, it wasn't always accurate.
Overall, while the Daisy Red Ryder Fun Kit is a decent option for a beginner's shooting experience, I wouldn't recommend it for someone looking for better accuracy or quality. But if you're looking for an affordable and simple way to introduce a young one to the world of BB guns, it might just do the trick.
🔗Advanced Decelerator Rifle Cheek Pad for Enhanced Shooting Control
https://preview.redd.it/oxvfncvl6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8103fea27ffc805de488a1d0b4ee8bc7aacafbb0
As an avid hunter, I had been searching for a recoil pad that offered both advanced control and easy installation. When I stumbled upon the Pachmayr Decelerator Slip-On Pad, I was excited to give it a try. Upon receiving the pad, I was impressed by its sleek design and the attention to detail in its construction. The installation process was a breeze, and I was thrilled to see how seamlessly it fitted onto my rifle.
One of the standout features of the Decelerator Slip-On Pad was its unique speed mount insert. This innovative design not only enhanced the pad's appearance but also improved its performance. I noticed a significant decrease in felt recoil, which made my shooting experience more comfortable and enjoyable. Furthermore, the pad's non-slip and snag-free design was perfect for my active hunting lifestyle.
However, there were a couple of minor drawbacks that I encountered. Firstly, the pad did add an inch to the overall length of my rifle, which could be a concern for some hunters. Secondly, while the pad was available in three sizes, I wished there were even more options to cater to a wider range of firearms.
In summary, the Pachmayr Decelerator Slip-On Pad has become an invaluable addition to my hunting gear. Its combination of advanced recoil control, sleek design, and easy installation makes it a worthwhile investment for any serious sportsman. Despite the minor drawbacks, I am confident that this pad will continue to perform exceptionally well during my hunting expeditions.
🔗Car Vinyl Wrap Film for Remarkable Personalized Looks
https://preview.redd.it/q00vf2cm6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2142107320bdb54a7fd20b7d186d0e1d08fc680e
Recently, I tried out the Vicrez vzv10121-3 Vinyl Car Wrap Film in Matte Black Iron for a DIY project. The 5ft x 3ft wrap was easy to work with and came with a vast selection of colors, patterns, and finishes to choose from. Although it does require some basic installation knowledge, the wraps are simple to apply and can easily be removed without damaging the car's paint.
One of the standout features of this wrap is its air release technology, which makes for a smooth and effortless installation process. Additionally, the realistic car paint look provides an enhanced appearance for a fraction of what a traditional paint job would cost. The material is also incredibly durable, with a lifespan of 4-6 years for exterior applications and 8+ years for interior use.
However, the matte black color of my chosen wrap did prove somewhat challenging to work with at times. Also, the installation process can be tricky if you don't have experience with vinyl wraps, so it's definitely worth having some knowledge beforehand. Overall, the Vicrez Vinyl Wrap offers a stylish and functional solution for adding a personalized touch to your car or any other surface it can be applied to.
🔗Flexzilla Quiet-Flo Safety Nozzle for Modular Accessories System
https://preview.redd.it/y1jumvpm6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=429e0bad91afc0854531f081690d2e9e3c3c1b80
I recently had the chance to try out the Quiet-Flo Safety Nozzle from Flexzilla, and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations! The modular accessories system made it incredibly easy to customize the length of my extension and the tips for any job I tackled. It also met OSHA standards for professional use, giving me peace of mind as I worked.
The nozzle was perfect for my mechanics and automotive workshop, and it genuinely made my Flexzilla blow gun even better. While the nozzle was quite sturdy and held up well under pressure, it seemed a bit more challenging to twist and bend than I would have liked. Still, that minor inconvenience didn't stop me from enjoying the countless benefits of this nifty little safety nozzle. This product truly lives up to its 5.0 rating and is definitely worth trying out.
🔗Improve Accuracy with the Daisy Red Ryder Shooting Gallery Accessory
https://preview.redd.it/ezgqa41n6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fb673850a598aae5a75b4405eccfa371bf21becd
Last week, I stumbled upon the Daisy Red Ryder Shooting Gallery while hunting for some new gear for my daughter's Red Ryder BB gun. As a parent, I thought this would be an excellent way to improve her shooting accuracy and provide hours of indoor fun for the whole family. With 25 assorted targets included, I was excited to give it a try.
The moment I opened the box, I was impressed by the simplicity of the design. It's just a small box with a rubber backing, and the targets easily punch out and attach to the front. The bottom trap efficiently collects the BBs, making it easy to reuse them for future sessions. Additionally, the rubber backing effectively stops BBs up to 350 fps, making it safe for indoor use.
However, there were some challenges I encountered during my experience. As a parent, I worried about the box being sturdy enough to withstand the force of the BBs. Although the included weight helped keep it steady, I still had to place it on a flat surface to prevent it from blowing over.
Additionally, I noticed that the product did not live up to the expectations set by the product images. The images show a gun carrying case and more accessories than what was delivered. While this was not a deal-breaker for me, it made me wonder if other customers had similar experiences.
Overall, the Daisy Red Ryder Shooting Gallery proved to be a fun and convenient way to practice our shooting skills, despite the lack of sturdiness and some unexpected differences from the advertised images.
🔗Stainless Steel PCP Charging System for Air Rifles
https://preview.redd.it/c0wlatro6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ca3f2b9cf91ce439b8472bcd2b9e430ab28aa2cf
As a reviewer, I have to say the Benjamin PCP Charging System is quite the handy device for PCP air rifle users. When I first received it, I was amazed at how lightweight it was, making it incredibly convenient for carrying around. One nifty feature that caught my attention was the built-in pressure gauge that allowed for precise filling.
The system's construction has been quite impressive as it is made from carbon fiber, which prevents corrosion. It is also quite durable, offering peace of mind during long periods of use. However, there was a minor downside – the micro bore hose seemed a bit too short, making it a bit challenging to fill my PCP air rifle.
The inclusion of a stainless steel fill connection was another plus, as it ensured long-lasting use without any significant problems. The tank also filled quite quickly with my hand pump, providing great convenience and efficiency.
Overall, the Benjamin PCP Charging System has exceeded my expectations, offering a perfect balance between convenience, portability, and performance. I particularly appreciate how it has made refilling my PCP air rifle much faster and more enjoyable, making it a must-have accessory for any PCP air rifle enthusiast.
🔗Revel 1TR1AA002R VLS 52mm Water Temperature Gauge with OLED Display and Sensor
https://preview.redd.it/ur6cyp0p6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b8f827a1e57e46e74f641b0c7934190d6dd32492
I remember using the Revel VLS 52mm Water Temp Gauge on my air rifle just last season. The gauge is quite compact, making it perfect for small space mounting, like underneath my scope. The display is simply brilliant - it's digital OLED, which offers a deeper black and sharper contrast, delivering a crystal clear image that's easily readable even from a distance.
One of the cool features was its 30 LED outer ring. When I'm taking aim in low light conditions, it gave me the perfect level of visibility. Plus, its daisy chain compatibility made it so easy to attach multiple gauges without needing several power cords.
The included water temp sensor is another key feature. It helps me to monitor the engine's temperature even when I'm out in the field, ensuring everything runs smoothly. The mounting kit that comes with the gauge makes installation a breeze.
However, nothing's perfect, right? I did notice the water temp gauge tends to be a bit sensitive to vibrations if I'm not careful with handling it. Overall, though, it's a reliable and efficient little gauge that's made a big difference in my shooting session, and I highly recommend it.
🔗Stylish Vinyl Car Wrap Film for an Enhanced Look
https://preview.redd.it/y9yg6wbq6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56b8bc15eb990dbc98227494606983b17bc070e8
I recently bought the Vicrez magnetic fluorescent green car wrap for my truck, and I must say, I am impressed. It took a little bit of effort to apply it properly, but the air bubble release feature made it a lot simpler than I had anticipated. The wrap itself has a fantastic chameleon finish, which makes my truck look absolutely stunning.
One of the things I appreciate the most about this wrap is its removability. I can easily take it off at any time without damaging the original paint on my truck. It's reassuring to know that my vehicle's resale value remains intact.
The stretchability is another remarkable feature. It can stretch up to 300%, which makes the application process even more effortless. I was particularly thrilled when I found out that this wrap can be applied to complex curves, simple curves, flat surfaces, and even some compound, convex, and concave curves.
The only downside was the learning curve - it took some time to get the hang of applying the wrap without messing it up. But once I got the hang of it, the results were impressive. Overall, the Vicrez magnetic fluorescent green car wrap is a fantastic product that I highly recommend.
🔗High-Quality Chrome Matte Red Vinyl Car Wrap Film by Vicrez
I recently had the opportunity to try out the Vicrez Vinyl Car Wrap Film in Chrome Satin Red, and I must say, I was quite impressed with the results! The installation process was a breeze with the help of the air release technology, and the vinyl was easy to work with, even for a novice like me.
One of the top features of this wrap is its realistic car paint look, which gives your vehicle a whole new dimension. It's also highly restorable, allowing for a quick fix if any wrinkles show up during installation. The vinyl is removable too, without damaging your car's paint, so you can switch up the look when you feel like it.
However, it's essential to note that the wrap isn't as easy to reposition once applied, so make sure you have your design in mind before finalizing the installation. The film is also quite thick at 6.4 mil, which adds to the durability but might make it a bit more challenging to apply in tight spaces.
Overall, I had a great experience using this wrap and would highly recommend it for anyone looking to give their car a unique, stylish makeover without breaking the bank. Plus, the wide variety of colors, textures, and finishes available ensures that you'll find the perfect fit for your vehicle.
The 4500psi Airrifle Air Gas Filling Pump is a sturdy and durable device that has saved me a lot of time and effort when it comes to air rifle maintenance. The high-pressure hand pump's built-in oil-water separator and ergonomic handle make it comfortable to use, while the foldable design allows for easy storage and transportation.
One of the most notable features of this pump is its precise pressure gauge. It provides easy-to-read parameters and ensures that I fill my PCP cylinders safely and accurately. Additionally, the complete accessory kit comes with O-rings and tools suitable for most PCP pistols, rifles, and air guns, making it a versatile option for various applications.
However, I did encounter a minor issue with its 301 stainless steel construction, as it required extra force to operate at higher pressure levels. This could be a potential concern for users with limited upper body strength.
Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the performance of this 4500psi Airrifle Air Gas Filling Pump. It's a cost-effective and efficient option for anyone looking to maintain their air rifle with ease.
2024.05.26 06:12 sealightflower Let us remember three horrible crashes, the anniversaries of which were on the 25th-26th of May: American Airlines 191 (25th of May 1979), China Airlines 611 (25th of May 2002), Lauda Air 004 (26th of May 1991).
Let us remember three horrible crashes, the anniversaries of which were on the 25th-26th of May: American Airlines 191 (25th of May 1979), China Airlines 611 (25th of May 2002), Lauda Air 004 (26th of May 1991).
American Airlines 191 (25th of May 1979, 271+2 fatalities): https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/328600
"American Airlines Flight 191, a McDonnell-Douglas DC-10-10, crashed on takeoff from Chicago-O'Hare International Airport, Illinois, USA. The aircrtaft was destroyed and all 271 occupants were killed. Additionally, two persons on the ground sustained fatal injuries. The takeoff roll was normal until just before rotation at which time sections of the No.1 (left) engine pylon structure came off the aircraft. Witnesses saw white smoke or vapor coming from the vicinity of the No. 1 engine pylon. During rotation the entire No. 1 engine and pylon separated from the aircraft, went over the top of the wing, and fell to the runway. Flight 191 lifted off about 6,000 ft down runway 32R, climbed out in a wings-level attitude. About nine seconds after liftoff, the airplane had accelerated to 172 knots and reached 140 feet of altitude. As the climb continued, the airplane began to decelerate at a rate of about one knot per second, and at 20 seconds after liftoff, and an altitude of 325 feet, airspeed had been reduced to 159 knots. At this point, the airplane began to roll to the left, countered by rudder and aileron inputs. The airplane continued to roll until impact, 31 seconds after liftoff, and in a 112-degree left roll, and 21-degree nose down pitch attitude. At 15:04 Flight 191 crashed in an open field and trailer park about 4,600 ft northwest of the departure end of runway 32R. The aircraft was demolished during the impact, explosion, and ground fire. The asymmetrical stall and the ensuing roll of the aircraft because of the uncommanded retraction of the left wing outboard leading edge slats and the loss of stall warning and slat disagreement indication systems resulting from maintenance-induced damage leading to the separation of the no.1 engine and pylon assembly procedures which led to failure of the pylon structure".
China Airlines 611 (25th of May 2002, 225 fatalities): https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/323047
"Boeing 747-209B B-18255 was scheduled to fly flight CI611 Taipei-Hong Kong during its last day in service for China Airlines before being sold to Orient Thai Airlines. At 15.16, while climbing through FL187, Dynasty 611 contacted Taipei Control. The Flight was cleared to climb and maintain FL350 and proceed from Chali direct to Kadlo. Some 13 minutes later, while approaching 35,000 feet, the aircraft disappeared off radar screens. Wreckage and bodies were found at sea, about 45 km Northeast off the Penghu islands. The flight probably disintegrated at high altitude since other debris was found near Changhua, about 45 kilometers from the crash site. Based on the recordings of CVR and FDR, radar data, the dado panel open-close positions, the wreckage distribution, and the wreckage examinations, the in-flight breakup of CI611, as it approached its cruising altitude, was highly likely due to the structural failure in the aft lower lobe section of the fuselage. In February 7, 1980, the accident aircraft suffered a tail strike occurrence in Hong Kong. The aircraft was ferried back to Taiwan on the same day un-pressurized and a temporary repair was conducted the day after. A permanent repair was conducted on May 23 through 26, 1980. The permanent repair of the tail strike was not accomplished in accordance with the Boeing SRM, in that the area of damaged skin in Section 46 was not removed (trimmed) and the repair doubler did not extend sufficiently beyond the entire damaged area to restore the structural strength".
Lauda Air 004 (26th of May 1991, 223 fatalities): https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/325771 Lauda Air Flight 004 was a scheduled service from Hong Kong (HKG) back to Vienna (VIE), Austria. An intermediate stop was made in Bangkok (BKK), Thailand. The flight departed Bangkok at 23:02 hours. Some five minutes after takeoff the pilot-in-command stated "that keeps coming on," referring to a REV ISLN advisory warning. This indication appears when a fault has been detected in the thrust reverser system. The crew discussed the REV ISLN indication for about four and one-half minutes. The co-pilot read information from the Airplane Quick Reference Handbook as follows: "Additional systems failures may cause in- flight deployment" and "Expect normal reverser operation after landing." The pilot-in-command remarked "....its not just on, its coming on and off," he said, "...its just an advisory thing...," and shortly thereafter stated, "could be some moisture in there or something." At 23:12, the co-pilot advised the pilot-in-command that there was need for, "a little bit of rudder trim to the left." Fifteen minutes and one second into the flight the co-pilot exclaimed, "ah reverser's deployed," accompanied by sound similar to airframe shuddering, sounds of metallic snaps and the pilot-in-command stating "here wait a minute." With the deployment of the no. 1 engine thrust reverser, engine thrust was reduced to idle. Aerodynamic effects of the reverser plume in-flight during the engine run down to idle resulted in a 25 percent lift loss across the wing. The airplane stalled and entered an uncontrolled descent. Buffeting, maneuvering overload, and excessive speed caused pieces of the rudder and the left elevator to separate. This was followed by the down-and-aft separation of most of the right horizontal stabilizer from maneuvering overloads, as the crew attempted to control the airplane and arrest the high-speed descent. A torsional overload then caused the separation of the vertical and left horizontal stabilizers. The loss of the tail resulted in a sharp nose-over of the airplane, producing excessive negative loading of the wing. A downward wing failure was probably followed by the breakup of the fuselage. The complete breakup of the tail, wing, and fuselage occurred in a matter of seconds. The wreckage fell in mountainous jungle terrain. The Accident Investigation Committee of the Government of Thailand determines the probable cause of this accident to be uncommanded in-flight deployment of the left engine thrust reverser, which resulted in loss of flight path control".
2024.05.26 06:00 vigortransformations Fixing my hip which has been a mess for years
I am a personal trainer and have been plagued by injuries all my life. I searched for help hor years from other proffesionals but no one could give me enough information on why it was that my hips were always uneven when squating and why my adductors and quadriceps were over powering all my movements.
So i have spent the last few months researching various ways to fix this and i have finally found the answers i was looking for. Mind you i even took a year off from exercise so i was starting from scratch about a month ago with my training regimen.
I started with isolating all my lower body muscles. So i have been doing calf rasies daily with weight with my feet externally rotated out. Everyone says to focus on the ball of the foot and i had done that for years so i actually stopped doing that and have focuesed on the outside of my feet and have had incredible results. I recommend this for everyone. I also have been runining abduction and adduction with weight these are great exercises for people looking to gain more definition for men and for women to tone up the insides of their legs and their glutes. I have also been working in lower leg raises to stretch and tone my lower abs. Know this though that leg raises if run with the legs externally rotated it also hits the adductors and to will help stretch and tone your legs as well. The other main exercise i have been doing is sumo squats and using a thigh band to make sure my glutes are firing all the time.
I have been training for about 2 hours a day for a little over a month and my body that i had when i was in my 20's is slowly making a comeback. I know i can even surpase my fitness level that i was in at that time because of a few main reasons.
One that strenghtening is lenghtening your muscles. The longer you keep your muscles under constant activtion and or focus on the eccentric contraction the better the results you will get. You also will increase strength rapidly and affectively. All to often we focus on the concentric phase which is the lifting phase. The lowere phase is the most important phase there is.
On all my sets and reps i hold the movements for as long as i can. When i first started this it was not easy and i could not hold the various movements for long. Now that i have been doind for about a month now i can hold these movements for upwards to 5 minutes or more. I try to just keep adding weight to make it more difficult so i don't have to hold it that long.
i am wriing this for anyone new out there and or anyone just coming back and especially for those who have injuries. I have studied the body for years now and finally understand what we need to do to better ourselves and i feel obligated to pass on the information to anyone. Being in shape and feeling good about yourself is one of the best things in the world and if i can help others achieve that i am more than happy to.
It your are new to this and are going to the gym you can find all these exercises i talked about by doing machines. That is the best way to start a new program. This process works for the upper body as well. I have been doing the same thing with all the major muscle groups of the upper body and have been having great success. My lower body is what has plagued me with repeated issues over the years. From dislocated knees, sprained ankles, back spasms, tweaked lower back more times than i can count. I now realize it all had to do with my glutes and my ankles and it can be fixed. So anyone who is struggling know their is a way and the way is to just go right at it with isolated movements. Then work in those bigger movemetns. I hope someone finds this helpful. i am happy to answer any questions if anyone has any about what i have been doing to fix my problems. i am slowly working through all mine and they are many.
2024.05.26 05:49 Opening-Grass-142 New owner
New owner
Hello I am a new owner of a leopard gecko and I'm trying to make sure my tank is staying warm. I put substrate in instead of the carpet. But the warm side seems to hover around 83-85 mostly lower end. I also have a blue day bulb should I have something different to help with the heat and if so should I go higher in wattage it's a 50w bulb I know her heat pad has a sensor for temp. Any info about general care and well being would be super appreciated and helpful as I said this is my first one and I want to make sure she's as comfortable as possible. And I know I need thermostats but like I said any help would be good.
Lower BP
Having trouble with my lower body position, specifically getting my outside knee to rest up on the tank. As soon as I get half butt cheek off the bike my outside leg wants to fold out kind of making it look like I’m doing a “split”. Would adjustable rear set’s help solve this? Want to make sure before I spend $500 on a set.
2024.05.26 05:26 ScarHydreigon87 How to build Fu Hua in D&D
Today we’re building Fu Hua, 12th of the 13 Flame Chasers. This is the 13th and final entry in my series of building the 13 Flame Chasers in D&D.
Note that this will be Flame ChasePrevious Era Fu Hua, so no Fire or Phoenix powers. There will be an alternate build at the end if you want to go that route, however.
Let’s start off with our goals for this build. While the Signets of Vicissitude focus on not getting hit, as such a thing is almost impossible to do in D&D, we’ll instead focus on Fu Hua’s other main feature, which is punching fast and punching hard.
For stats we’ll be using Point Buy. Roll for stats if you want, just keep your Dexterity and Wisdom High.
15 Dexterity, as you are incredibly agile and quick
15 Wisdom, as you do have very keen senses as a martial artist, and you are very wise beyond your years.
13 Constitution, as a Phoenix never dies
10 Intelligence, as while you do retain a lot of knowledge from your thousands of years of experience, we just don’t need it for this build.
10 Strength, as while you are obviously strong, you’re more about speed.
And 8 Charisma, as while you are friendly and kind, you aren’t as social as your peers, and your lifespan means your relationships don't last very long.
For Race, Fu Hua is a heavily augmented human that has lived through many lives, so we’ll make her a Reborn Human. You either get +2 to one stat and +1 to another, or +1 to three stats. We’ll actually go with +1 to three stats, rounding out our Wisdom, Dexterity, and Constitution. You get Ancestral Legacy, giving you proficiency in 2 skills of your choice. Athletics and Insight would be my picks. You also get Deathless Nature, giving you advantage on saving throws against poison and disease, resistance to poison damage, advantage on death saving throws, you no longer need to eat, drink, breathe, or sleep, magic can’t put you to sleep, and you can finish a long rest in only 4 hours instead of 8. Lastly, you get Knowledge from a Past Life, letting you add a d6 to any Skill check you make an amount of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest. For your Background, take the Ruined Background from the Book of Many Things for Stealth and Survival, as well as either the Alert, Tough, or Skilled Feat. We’ll go with the Tough Feat for more HP. (NOTE: While such a Background is fine for a vacuum build like this, many groups may view Backgrounds that give Feats as too strong, so if that’s the case then pick a Background like Haunted One or any other Background you see fit)
We’ll kick things off as a Monk, 1st Level Monks get 2 skills from the Monk List. Acrobatics and History would be my picks. You also get proficiency in a set of Artisan’s tools. Go for Calligrapher’s Tools as they’re the best ones. You get Unarmored Defense, making your AC 10 plus your Dexterity and Wisdom modifiers when you’re not wearing armor, as while you do have some armor plates as Shadow Knight, your other forms aren’t as such. You also get Martial Arts, letting you use Dexterity instead of Strength for your unarmed attacks or Monk weapons, and your unarmed strikes use a d4. You can also make an extra unarmed attack as a bonus action.
2nd Level Monks get Ki, letting you start tapping into your stigmata powers. You get Ki points equal to your Monk level that recharge on a short or long rest to augment your abilities. Flurry of Blows lets you spend a ki point to make 2 unarmed strikes as a bonus action after you attack instead of just one. Patient Defense lets you spend a ki point to Dodge as a bonus action, and Step of the Wind lets you spend a Ki point to Dash or Disengage as a bonus action, along with doubling your jump distance for a turn. You also get Unarmored Movement, giving you 10 extra feet of movement speed while unarmored. Lastly, you get the option of Dedicated Weapon, which allows you to make any weapon that isn’t heavy that you’re proficient with into a Monk weapon, but that is irrelevant since you only use your fists.
3rd Level Monks can pick a Monastic Tradition, and Way of the Open Hand is good for a master martial artist. You get Open Hand Technique, letting you choose from 3 effects when you hit someone with your Flurry of Blows. You can either have them make a Dexterity Saving Throw or be knocked prone, have them make a Strength Saving Throw or be pushed 15 feet away, or have them not be able to make reactions until the end of your next turn. 3rd level Monks also get Deflect Missiles, letting you use your reaction to reduce the damage taken from a ranged weapon attack equal to 1d10 plus your Dexterity Modifier and Monk level. If this damage is reduced to 0, then you can spend a ki point to throw it back at the enemy.
4th Level Monks get an Ability Score Improvement. Bump your Dexterity for better AC and Damage. You also get Slow Fall, letting you use your reaction to reduce any falling damage you take equal to 5 times your Monk level, and Quickened Healing, letting you use your action and spend 2 Ki Points to heal yourself equal to your Martial Arts Die plus your Proficiency Bonus.
5th Level Monks get a pretty big power spike. First, you get Extra Attack, letting you Attack twice in one turn, or 4 with Flurry of Blows. Second, you get Stunning Strike, letting you spend a Ki point when you attack someone to force a Constitution saving throw on them. On a failure, they are stunned until the end of your next turn, giving advantage on all attack rolls against them. Third, you get the option of Focused Aim, letting you spend 1-3 ki points when you miss an attack roll, adding +2 to the roll for every point spent to better guarantee your punches land. Lastly, your Martial Arts die increases to a d6 for slightly stronger hits.
6th Level Monks get Ki-Empowered Strikes, making your unarmed attacks Magical. 6th Level Open Hand Monks get Wholeness of Body, letting you use your action to heal yourself equal to 3 times your Monk level once per long rest. Your Unarmored Movement also increases to 15 feet.
7th Level Monks get Evasion, meaning when you make a Dexterity Saving throw to avoid taking damage, you take no damage on a success, and only half as much on a failure. You also get Stillness of Mind, letting you use your action to end an effect of Charmed or Frightened on yourself.
8th Level Monks get another Ability Score Improvement. Cap your Dexterity for better AC and damage.
9th Level Monks get Unarmored Movement Improvement, letting you run up walls and on water as long as you end your turn on stable ground.
10th Level Monks get Purity of Body, making you immune to poison and disease. Your Unarmored Movement also increases to 20 feet.
11th Level Open Hand Monks get Tranquility, meaning when you finish a long rest, you are under the effects of the Sanctuary spell until your next long rest or until you attack. Sanctuary means that anyone who targets you with an attack or spell must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, they must either select a new target or waste their turn. Your Martial Arts die also increases to a d8.
12th Level Monks get another Ability Score Improvement. Bump up your Wisdom for better AC and Ki save DC.
13th Level Monks get Tongue of the Sun and Moon, letting you understand and speak all languages. You’ve made many friends who all live in different nations.
14th Level Monks get Diamond Soul, giving you proficiency with all saving throws. Your Unarmored Movement also increases to 25 feet.
15th Level Monks get Timeless Body, meaning you no longer suffer the frailty of old age, fitting given that you are basically immortal and have been fighting for thousands of years.
16th Level Monks get our last Ability Score Improvement. Cap your Wisdom for the best AC and Ki save DC. Alternatively, if you weren't able to take the Tough Feat from the Ruined Background cuz you weren't able to take that Background, you can take it here a the cost of -1 to AC and ki save DC.
17th Level Open Hand Monks get Quivering Palm, letting you spend 3 Ki points when you hit someone with an unarmed strike to cause vibrations from within them. Later, as an Action, you can end these vibrations, and the target has to make a Constitution saving throw. On a success, they take 10d10 Necrotic damage, and on a failure, they straight up drop to 0 HP. Your Martial Arts die also increases one more time to a d10.
We’ll finish off the build with some Fighter levels. 1st Level Fighters can pick a Fighting Style, and Blind Fighting will give you a Blindsight of 10 feet, letting you see anyone that isn’t behind total cover even while blinded or in darkness. You also get Second Wind, letting you use a bonus action to heal 1d10 plus your Fighter Level once per short or long rest.
2nd Level Fighters get Action Surge, letting you take another action once per short or long rest for another attack.
Our Capstone is the 3rd Level of Fighter for a Martial Archetype, and we’ll go with Echo Knight for some extra punch. You get Manifest Echo, letting you use a bonus action to manifest a copy of yourself within 15 feet of you. It has an AC of 14+your proficiency bonus, 1 HP, and immunity to all conditions. You can swap places with it as a bonus action, have your attacks originate from yourself or it, and you can make opportunity attacks from the Echo’s position. With your Echo you also get Unleash Incarnation, letting you make an additional attack with your Echo whenever you take the Attack action an amount of times equal to your Constitution modifier per long rest.
Now that we’ve hit Level 20, let’s go over the Strengths of this build. First, you can dish out a lot of damage. With 2 Attacks, Flurry of Blows, Action Surge, and Unleash Incarnation, you deal 8d10+40 damage, or an average of 84 damage in one round. You're also pretty durable with 186 HP, 20 AC, Evasion, and proficiency in all saving throws. Lastly, you have excellent crowd control thanks to your Open Hand Technique and Stunning Strike.
For weaknesses, you have limited resources with 1 use of Action Surge and 2 uses of Unleash Incarnation, plus you can easily burn through your Ki Points. You also have a lower bonus to Strength, Intelligence, and Charisma saves. Lastly, while you are very fast and can get into the thick of battle quickly, airborne opponents will prove a massive struggle for you.
And with that, I have now made D&D builds for all 13 Flame Chasers.
Author’s Note: If you want to go the Phoenix/Garuda route for Fu Hua, then replace the Monk subclass at Level 3 with Way of the Ascendant Dragon (reflavored as a Phoenix/Garuda).
2024.05.26 05:22 Serious-Finger4635 Should I be ashamed of being a Hindu? ( Why we're like this?)
I'm not sure about others, but am I truly worthy of calling myself a Hindu? I follow the daily rituals and adhere to all the rules of a true Hindu, yet today an incident occurred that shook me to my core and made me question my true Hindu identity. Am I really a Hindu or just a pretender? You will understand after reading this long rant. We believe that Hinduism is the oldest religion, an ancient culture that's been around for 5000 years. Some people say Hinduism isn't really a religion but more of an organized lifestyle. Whether it's a religion or a lifestyle, that's not something I need to discuss here—historians and philosophers know more about that stuff than I do. I'm here to talk about the current state of Hinduism and the hypocrisy within it. The hypocrisy I'm talking about isn't about Hinduism itself, but about the hypocrisy of the millions of people who follow it. If my criticism hurts anyone's feelings, I apologize in advance. India, our country, is indeed a unique and extraordinary nation. In terms of cultural, physiographical, linguistic, social, religious, and ethnic diversity, there's probably no other country as diverse as India. We've benefited from this diversity, as we've been exposed to various languages, religions, and societies since childhood. That's why we have at least some understandings of others' religions, languages, societies, lifestyles, and ethnicities. We Indians, regardless of religion, are deeply sentimental about our religion and faith. It's natural for humans to become somewhat sentimental about their beliefs. But along with being sentimental, we are also very reactionary and this reactionary nature is the biggest problem of any religion. Everyone considers their own religion to be superior to others. We leave no stone unturned in glorifying our own religion and belittling others'. In fact, it seems like our constant efforts is to insult the beliefs of others and to elevate our own religion. We provoke each other and try to undermine each other's faith. And I'm not talking about any particular religion here; I'm talking about all religions. Moreover, in the age of 21st-century, era of AI and internet, religion still playing a significant role in people's lives. everyone knows how politics is being played around Hinduism and Hindu identity these days. There's a debate going on about who is a true Hindu and who isn't, and all political parties are trying to exploit this sentiment for their own gain. But let's leave all that aside, I don't want to get into useless political talks here. Whether Hindu or Sanatan, all of us who follow this ancient way of life truly find it magnificent. The talks about God's sacred power, deep philosophies, motivations, teachings, and the blend of science and psychology make Hinduism even more unique. Despite our ancient religion being divided into various castes, sects, subsects, cultures, languages, and whatnot, in the end, we all believe in the same life philosophy. Sometimes through devotion, sometimes through yoga and prayer, through meditation, we seek the divine, we strive to attain liberation(ମୋକ୍ଷ). No matter how much we talk about this great culture, it's never enough. We should truly be proud of our religion. Until yesterday, I was a proud Hindu myself, but an incident which occurred yesterday completely flipped my perspective. Now, I find myself starting to disdain those who follow this religion. I feel ashamed to call myself Hindu now. Let me be clear here: my issue is not with Hinduism itself. I had as much pride in Hinduism yesterday as I do today. But the people who are continuously tarnishing the beauty of this religion, and the other Hindus who are turning a blind eye to it, are making me feel disgusted. It's like nothing even happened in their eyes. Guess what could have changed my perspective so drastically in just one day? Caste, sexual harassment, oppression, misogyny, religious scams, superstitions—if you're thinking about all these, let me tell you, you're wrong. The matter is quite serious and embarrassing. You see, in our Hindu religion, it's like there are thirteen festivals in twelve months (ବାର ମାସ ରେ ତେର ପର୍ବ). From Ekadashi fasting to various other rituals(ବ୍ରତ), there's almost something happening every week. There are different and independent ways of worship for the 33 crore gods and goddesses. And as much as possible, a Hindu participates in those religious practices according to his capability. He actively engages in these religious observances. In Hinduism, we have a unique concept called "AvatarVad." We believe that God incarnates on Earth from time to time to eliminate injustice and evil (When injustice exceeds its limits, God takes birth on Earth to eradicate that injustice and unrighteousness). It's not that God only incarnates in human form; God has taken various forms such as Matsya (fish), Simha (lion), Kurma (turtle), and many others. That's why we Hindus consider all these beings sacred. The concept of devotion in Hinduism is also unique. We Hindus believe that God exists in everything on Earth, from trees and plants to animals and even inanimate objects like stones and rivers. Some of us are quite orthodox. They won't even touch anything without performing their prayers or rituals, let alone eating something or touching water without purification. There are also those who believe that if someone hasn't bathed and touches them, they become impure. However, if they visit a pilgrimage site or temple, even the soil there becomes sacred for them. From the water of rivers to the soil, everything becomes as pure as God's form for them. In almost every Hindu household, there's a dedicated space for worshiping God and deities, where it's strictly prohibited to enter without bathing. And if someone without bathing touches the photos or idols of Gods and Goddesses kept in that sacred space, they might consider it impure. In our Hindu religion, there are thousands and thousands of variations and customs. What happened yesterday has completely changed my perspective on all these things. Now, I feel like all this is nothing but a show, there's nothing genuine about it. Anyway, let's get to the real issue. Currently, I am studying in a library, and many others like me are here for their studies. So, yesterday, while I was roaming around, I spotted this polythene packet lying on the floor, probably some snack wrapper. It had a paper sticker on it, and when I took a closer look, I was kinda surprised, but not completely shocked cause I've seen similar stuff before. The sticker had a picture of Lord Shiva on it with the name of some company below, seemingly using Shiva's name for business. And you won't believe where I found it - near the trash can. People throw all sorts of junk in there, and this packet probably got tossed too. Anyway, for some reason, it ended up outside the trash can, near the door of a room in the library where loads of folks, mostly Hindus, were passing by. Some folks just ignored the Shiva pic on the packet, while others, knowingly or unknowingly, stepped over it as if it was just another piece of trash. And Guess what? Almost all of these people were Hindus. Among them were vegetarians, and some were the ones who talked about Hindu ritual purifications, the threats Hindus face, Hindu nationalism, and Hindu pride. But at that moment, knowingly or unknowingly, they were stepping over the photo of Lord Shiva with bare feet. Some even, upon seeing it, chose to ignore it and left the photo lying near the dustbin among other trash, letting people walk over it. They are our fellow proud Hindu comrades. What else could I do? I picked up the picture of Lord Shiva and put it in my shirt pocket, praying for forgiveness. That's all I could do. This is just one instance among countless others; there are many more glaring examples of how our own Hindu people disrespects and dishonour our Hindu Deities. Imagine if a Muslim or Christian had done the same thing, would their limbs still be attached to their body?
We all know how the political atmosphere revolves around Hindu pride and protection of Hinduism, and votes are sought on the basis of defending Hindu dignity and religion. But our own people continue to disrespect and dishonour our own deities. Obviously, it makes me wonder: who exactly is posing threat to Hinduism? Is the real threat to Hinduism coming from its own followers or people of other religion? In Odisha, Lord Jagannath is not just a Avtar of Lord Vishnu, but a symbol of Odia culture and tradition. It's difficult to separate Lord Jagannath from the Odia community. The Odia language, culture, music, history, folk tales, dances, everything is dedicated to Lord Jagannath, and there's some connection with Lord Jagannath in every aspect of Odia culture. And these scoundrels didn't spare Lord Jagannath either. We all know the importance of sindoor and incense sticks for worship. Here in Odisha, A packet of sindoor is available in the market for just 1 rupee, and on the packet, there are pictures of Lord Balabhadra, Maa Subhadra, and Lord Jagannath. Imagine what happens to those packets after the worship? Some packets of incense stick also have pictures of Hindu deities on them. And in packets of other worship materials too, there are names and pictures of Hindu deities. And guess what happens to all those packets after the worship? Yes, those packets get thrown out in the open or dumped in the trash after the worship. Who knows what happens to those packets with pictures of our deities on them? People, cows, buffaloes, dogs all walk over those packets, and countless feet trample on them. This is our so-called Hindu pride. In a place where people are beaten up for not saying "Jay Shree Ram," where you’re humiliated and thrashed for eating non-veg, where temples become impure if someone from a lower caste or another religion enters, and where countless murders happen in the name of beef, just look at how our fellow Hindus themselves treat our deities. This is peak hypocrisy. I mean, even hypocrisy has its limit. Those packets lie out in the open or in the trash, and we proud Hindus, the so-called defenders of the Hindu nation, either pretend not to see them or just don't care. This isn't the fault of just one Hindu. We can't pin this on a scapegoat and move on; in this sin, you, I, and every Hindu are complicit. One day, we will have to answer to God for this hypocrisy.
Have you ever seen people of other religions do this to their faith? Forget Muslims, can you even imagine so-called liberal Christians doing something like this? I believe we Hindus are the biggest hypocrites on this planet, who only superficially display their faith. Shame on us. We are the ones who disrespect our own religion. Where are the politicians and religious big shots who milk religion for their political agendas? I don't even consider the owners of those company’s human. They're the proof of how low people can stoop for money. Where are the High Court and Supreme Court? Where have all the lawyers gone? I want to ask you all do Lord Jagannath, Lord Shiva and other Deities, whom we Hindus hold in great reverence, worship with great devotion, and consider very sacred, really belong in a place filled with heaps of garbage? How long will we sit silently and watch this happen?
2024.05.26 05:17 koctake How to take a cat to the vet if it’s extremely stressed about it?
There’s a TL;DR at the bottom, but I thought that I’d provide as much context as I can.
Our 7 year old cat was always shy and easily startled. Due to that, sometimes during play sessions together or by himself, he’d have little accidents here and there, typically hitting his head but nothing too serious. He’d sneeze it off (supposedly because he hit something with his nose) and in a few minutes resume like nothing happened.
So a few days ago we had a guest over that he’s comfortable around, since they visit regularly. We were having a conversation in the hallway and the cat wanted to get into the other room passing behind guest’s back. Long story short, the cat startled and tried to escape and hit his head again. He seemed to shake it off like usually and everything seemed to be fine. A day or two later, he showed signs of difficult breathing, became a bit inactive, and his nose would make “clicky” sounds when breathing - though rarely. We talked to our vet, and showed photos/videos describing everything in detail and he said we need an x ray to start treating this, it might be pulmonary edema. Getting ready to go to the vet clinic, got his carrier, and got the cat in my arms, and approaching the carrier lowering him down to get him inside like usually so we can go. He didn’t get out of the house often but it’s probably been around 15ish times total, always in the same carrier. He didn’t like it and would always meow and get stressed even when in the car, would get scared, calm down a bit at the vet and then the same would happen on the way to home. Last year we took him day to day for around a week or 10 days straight because he needed to get daily shots (other health issues) and we tried and couldn’t do it ourselves. So this time around, getting close to the carrier, he started climbing back on my body so hard, like he was fighting for his life. He also peed on me a bit, and got so anxious and stressed like never before. He then started to hyperventilate and drool, obviously from the fear and stress of the carrier, which again, was sometimes a bit problematic but nothing too crazy. A few times he’d drool on the way to the vet or back, but get back into being a normal cat shortly after getting home and a nap. So we didn’t take him because we were afraid that difficulty breathing and getting even more stressed outside might cause him to get worse and we’re also extremely worried something might happen to him on the way if he’ll be in that state.
Our vet gave us a recipe for a solution of 10ml glucose 5% and a pill of gabapentin 300mg, from which we were supposed to give him a fifth, so essentially 60mg of gabapentin to help him reduce stress before visiting. (he weighs around 4kg)
Knowing how problematic it was at times to give him oral medication, we dissolved the gaba in 5ml instead and took a fifth to give him, me holding him and the gf quickly and accurately releasing the solution in his mouth. Story repeated as with the carrier - but even more loud, scary, and most importantly, unsuccessful. We got bit and scratched so hard, we didn’t think he was even capable of this. He bit my nail so hard there’s a small crack in it, and basically closed his jaw over two my girlfriend’s fingers. He started to hyperventilate again, release a lot of saliva, and he seemed like in shock a few minutes, before going to a safe hidden place (corner) and just drooling and getting back into his mind again.
Today we tried putting the dose of gaba (about 0.08g) into a Greenies pill pocket - didn’t want to eat it, but it might be the treat itself (he didn’t want to eat the treat by itself the day before). We are soon to try to give him yet another 60mg using a bit of wet food since he lost some of his appetite so we’re giving him some time to get a bit hungry just to ensure he takes the gaba so we can go to the vet.
In case that fails too, can anybody please recommend other tricks you know or have used? We’re not really used to him being so tricky and don’t want to stress him again even more.
We live in Eastern Europe, so we might not have all the tools or falicities at our disposal.
Thanks!
TL;DR: Our 7 year old cat likely has pulmonary edema by the symptoms, and we need to get him an x ray scan. Due to unknown reasons, he became even more scared and opposing to get in his carrier or take vet visit sedative medication so we can go to the clinic. Need advice on how to deal with him and take him to the vet without stressing him even further and making things worse.
