Antique salvage yard for sale

This feels like such a strange thing to post about in my millennial brain…
How do you find adoptable kittens locally? I’m so used to just finding signs saying ‘free kittens’ or cardboard boxes… good lord I’m so old!! I’m very happy to pay adoption fees, that’s not the concern at all, obviously there are a lot of expenses associated with raising a kitten from birth to 8wks, I just have no idea how to find them!
I know people can’t post kittens/pets for adoption on most “for sale” platforms, and I’m curious how to go about finding them?
I’ve already registered with the SPCA, and they send me alerts any time they get kittens, but there’s not much… it’s peak season for the lovely little fuzz butts to be popping up so I know there must be lots out there, but I’m not seeing any, and I am resorting to driving around to see if there are community boards with ads posted, I feel pretty silly TBQH.
For the record, I am looking for a pair, and I have miles of experience with cats, I have lived with them for my entire life until the last 7 years. After a relationship ended, and my ex took the cat, I adopted a rescue golden retrieveborder collie who, as I learned, had an extremely high prey drive. I always wanted to bring home kittens again, but it would not be safe with my aggressive dog (I worked extremely hard with her, and she grew and developed such amazing skills, but she was an aggressive dog, she learned so much trust in me, but the facts remained).
Not to sound callous, and I’m immeasurably heartbroken, but she passed away at 17 years old. I have spent months recovering from her passing, she has left an immense hole in my heart that will never be filled. I am finally recovered enough from her passing to consider bringing home new babies, but I just don’t know how!
I know many people will come for me regarding adopting an older and/or elderly cat. I would love that so so much, to bring someone home who desperately deserves to live their final years in a loving space, and elderly cats are such a blessing. I also have a Labrador, who has lived with cats in the past, and adores them (and wants to be friends with anything that moves much to the dismay of the wild bunnies in our yard), but most older cats (at least at the SPCA) have flags on their file saying that they don’t do well with dogs. So, I’m not willing to subject them to a home where they wouldn’t feel comfortable… If I could find a pair of bonded older cats who are comfortable with a dog, I would welcome that. Given the number of cats that aren’t though, I feel that adopting kittens would be the best way to create a stress free environment for everyone involved (ie the kittens and the dog, idgaf about my stress levels lol, fuzzy babies are worth every ounce of stress)
Long long story short… how does one find kittens in this world???

We recently moved into a new house with a very talkative, nosy and gossipy neighbor who lives directly across the street from us. This neighbor is part of a real estate Facebook group and posted about our house on that page while it was for sale. She constantly posted about how much more it was listed at than her house and how overpriced it was. When we bought the house she again listed the selling price on that Facebook page and furthermore mentioned the repairs that we were having done to plumbing and for termites, again much to the same effect of can’t believe these people are buying this house for this much with these problems that my house doesn’t have.
She also gossips incessantly to the neighbors about other neighbors and tries to talk to us every time we step out of our door. She does not have a back yard so is always in her front yard. She has made many further shitty remarks about our house like “the contractors put a bunch of cheap stuff in your house right? The backyard is cheaply done isn’t it? And “I still can’t believe how much they got out of that house” to our face.
My tact has been to be cold and ignore her as much as possible only responding tacitly to questions asked. My wife has a harder time avoiding social nicieties and gets sucked into conversation with her. This has led to the neighbor talking more and more with my wife and coming onto our front lawn to talk with her etc.
I’m in the process redoing a lot of the backyard and I know the neighbor is curious she has asked me about it and I just don’t want her to know about my life or what I’m doing. Her nosiness feels like an invasion of privacy and all the information she has had on our house she has previously spread on the internet and to neighbors and even to us in mean spirited and unthoughtful ways. I’ve told my wife I really don’t want to have this neighbor close to us, to come into our yard or backyard or become comfortable coming over whenever she please. I was very clear that I didn’t want the neighbor to come into our backyard either.
This evening my wife and son were playing out front and the neighbor came in over and was talking to my wife. I was inside and stayed inside . She asked to see the projects I was working on in the back and my wife led her to the backyard and showed her the deck and our back house. My wife said that she didn’t know how to say no to the neighbors request.
I was enraged because I specifically requested she didn’t let the neighbor over as I feel the neighbor invades privacy. My wife said she doesn’t want to be cold to people. I feel like my wife is valuing my neighbors feelings - as well as her own desire to not feel awkward around neighbors - over my feelings. I understand that my wife can’t be as cold towards the neighbor as I can (I’m introverted) but I felt I was clear with my boundaries towards the neighbor with my wife and she didn’t respect my feelings.
I got into an argument about it with my wife…I’m not sure if I’m the asshole or if my wife is the asshole or if this is just a shitty situation that we have to deal with somehow…

The sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows over the desolate prison yard. The air was thick with tension as Rick Grimes gathered the group around the fire. The Governor's first attack had left them battered but not broken. The Woodbury militia had retreated, but in their haste, they'd left behind something of great value – an M2 Browning .50 caliber machine gun mounted on an abandoned HMMWV.
Rick's gaze shifted to the distant wreckage. "We need that gun operational," he said, his voice steady. "It could be the edge we need."
Daryl Dixon, ever the practical one, nodded. "I'll take a look at it, see what we can salvage."
The group dispersed, each member falling into their roles. Daryl and Glenn Rhee headed towards the HMMWV, while Maggie Greene, Michonne, and Tyreese scouted the perimeter for any signs of danger. Hershel Greene and Carol Peletier tended to the wounded and kept an eye on the children.
The HMMWV stood like a silent sentinel amidst the ruins of the recent battle. The M2 was still mounted, but it had taken some damage. Daryl inspected the gun, his keen eyes assessing the repairs needed.
"Glenn, we’re gonna need parts to fix this," Daryl muttered. "Think we can find what we need at that National Guard post nearby?"
Glenn nodded, determination in his eyes. "It's worth a shot. We should head out at first light."
The next morning, a small team set out: Rick, Daryl, Glenn, Michonne, and Maggie. They moved swiftly and silently through the overgrown back roads, avoiding main routes where walkers and human threats were more likely to linger. The National Guard post loomed in the distance, a grim reminder of the world that once was.
The post was eerily quiet. Vehicles were abandoned, and the gates hung open, swaying gently in the breeze. The group approached cautiously, weapons ready. Inside, they found the remnants of a fierce battle – shell casings, spent ammunition, and the decaying remains of soldiers and walkers alike.
"Stay sharp," Rick whispered. "We don’t know what’s waiting for us in there."
The team split up, each member searching for anything useful. Glenn and Maggie located a storage room with several boxes of .50 caliber ammunition belts. They loaded them into their packs, their hearts racing with every creak and groan of the building.
In another section, Michonne found spare parts that might be useful for repairing the M2. She carefully examined each piece, selecting only what they needed. As they worked, the tension in the air grew thicker.
Suddenly, the moans of walkers filled the air. The noise had drawn a small horde, and they were closing in fast.
"Time to go!" Daryl shouted, firing his crossbow at the nearest walker.
The team regrouped, their path to the exit blocked by the undead. They fought their way through, each member displaying the skill and determination that had kept them alive this long. Rick's revolver roared, Michonne's katana sliced through the air, and Daryl's crossbow thudded with deadly accuracy.
They broke through the horde, making a mad dash for the exit. As they neared the gate, a new threat emerged – a group of armed survivors, eyes glinting with desperation.
"Drop your weapons and hand over the supplies," the leader demanded, his gun trained on Rick.
Rick’s eyes narrowed. "We’re not looking for trouble, but we’re not giving up what we found."
The standoff was tense, both sides ready to fight. But before it could escalate, the sound of an approaching walker horde distracted their adversaries. Rick seized the opportunity, signaling his team to move. They fought their way past the human threats, using the chaos to their advantage.
The journey back to the prison was fraught with tension, but they made it, battered and exhausted but triumphant. They quickly set to work, repairing the M2 with the parts Michonne had found. Hershel supervised as Glenn and Daryl loaded the belts of .50 caliber ammunition.
As night fell, the M2 stood ready, a powerful symbol of their resilience and determination. Rick looked at his weary but resolute group, pride swelling in his chest.
"We’ve got a fighting chance now," he said quietly. "We’ll keep fighting, for each other, for tomorrow."
The group nodded, united by the hardships they had faced and the hope that flickered in the darkness. They had salvaged more than just a weapon; they had salvaged their spirit and their will to survive.

My father recently purchased a V8 Hemi Dodge Charger (2014? At about $20,000). The title paperwork says it has 59,000 miles on it. Today, there was a horrible tapping sound coming from the engine when he started it. A visit to a certified mechanic revealed that the engine and transmission were junk yard parts that had been installed. In essence, this vehicle’s engine and transmission has well over 59,000 miles and is at the end of its life. My dad has stated that the main reason he bought the vehicle was for the lower mileage; how do we proceed if the dealership refuses to remedy? I’m unsure if this is the same as an odometer rollback because someone actually installed a totally different engine and transmission. He thinks lemon laws would apply but to me this seems more fraudulent. Although the sale was “as is,” it was never made known that the vehicle would have junkyard parts nearing the end of their functionality. He is very disappointed at this.

So I’ve never really been afraid of spiders or insects, I just don’t particularly like them in my space. I would kill spiders and ants without batting an eye, just because they were near me. Anyways, I got a regal jumping spider in late February after going to a reptile convention and I saw them for sale. One of the ladies at the convention had a jumping spider crawling on her hand and it was so cute and curious. Not at all afraid of the crowd around it awwwing. As i said, never fond of spiders and definitely never considered owning one, but when I got home I did intense research and ended up buying one online.
The other day at work, I saw a spider fall into a dogs’ water bowl (I work at a dog boarding place) and I didn’t think much of it, took the bowl to replace the water. But as I began to dump it out I felt horrible for the little guy who seemed to be nearly dead. I gently took it out of the water and took it to the yard where I set it in a corner of the fence by some rakes and shovels. It was a little cellar spider I believe and he definitely survived as he had wandered off somewhere behind the rakes!
I’ve never imagined myself actually caring for a spider but the more I watch mine the more I gain sympathy for them as a whole. They are killed for simply existing. I love these little dudes and I hope others can learn from this as well.

i bought some foam WAY BACK in 2018, so about 6 years ago, and i was wondering if it's still useable.
obviously it's yellow all the way to the core, but it's still foamy, not brittle at all. no mold either, it's been kept in a very dry and climate controlled place that doesn't get very hot. i don't have an image of it right now as i'm at work, but it's a very large roll so i'm hesitant on throwing it out 😅
another question is: if i can use it, would it be alright to use for commissions? i'm thinking on opening suit comms, but again... old foam 😔 it is on sale right now at my fabric store, but i just wanna know if this stuff is salvagable. that's all!

I will be in the Albuquerque area in the next two weeks and one thing I would like to do while I am there is shop for used Fender tube amplifiers (Bassman combo or stack, Super Six combo, Bandmaster stack, 70s vintage). I don't mind pawn shops or swap meets as long as they have a reputation for gear. Hell, I'll go to a yard sale on a good tip. I'm not interested in chains like Guitar Center unless they are selling used gear and (again) have a reputation for quality gear. I will generally be on the east side of the state for this trip but I'm willing to travel a bit beyond Albuquerque if you know of any places outside of town.
I appreciate any suggestions.

I’m planning on holding a garage/yard sale at my personal residence and was checking online to see if I needed a permit. Unfortunately, there’s mixed guidance on what Fairfax County requires besides the ‘only 2 sales a year’ limitation.
Does anyone know whether or not I need a permit? And if so, how long it takes to obtain, etc?

Hey yall so i have a typhoone h drone i just recently bought off marketplace. It was flying great with no issues. Today i flew it and it was flying fine, battery was good and everything but out of nowhere it said to land it since it was losing calibration. I went to land it and it just shot 50 feet to the right, full speed into a tree and crashed into my neighbors yard all by itself. Destroyed a couple propellers and the camera. It was flying great all week and did fine in very tree-y areas. Does anyone know why it did this?? are these drones known for losing signal? And if anybody has any drones for sale within about 2 hours from joliet Illinois please shoot me a pm.

I just bought an older Nighthawk AC1900 and Netgear CM500 for $10 at a yard sale. I have a Arris G34 that has been giving me gaming troubles. Would Nighthawk be an upgrade even though it's pretty old
